- 1:27Speaker 3: no cause of Beasts of Downers, the one that puts
- 1:29Speaker 3: it all together.
- 1:29Speaker 1: But it's been as been a big month here at
- 1:32Speaker 1: four Finger Discount. Lots of exciting news and changes and whatnot.
- 1:35Speaker 1: But how you been, how you found this line? Doing?
- 1:37Speaker 3: All right? We as we record this, we are coming
- 1:39Speaker 3: off Easter. Yeah, one of my favorite times of the year.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Any hot gross buns left? Now?
- 1:45Speaker 3: There is one single hot Cross bund left in the
- 1:48Speaker 3: in the breadmin which flavor? This one's apple cinnamon, apple cinnamon, okay, Nikola.
- 1:53Speaker 3: She hadn't bore hot Cross bunds for the entire time,
- 1:55Speaker 3: and then the day before Good Friday short, which is
- 1:57Speaker 3: a Thursday, she went, I'm gonna buy some, and they
- 2:00Speaker 3: had none of the plain ones left. It's like everyone
- 2:01Speaker 3: just bought the supermarket out, so she only had the
- 2:03Speaker 3: cabriagechot chip ones and I ate when I went, eugh,
- 2:07Speaker 3: bread with chocolate and it's just not my favorite thing.
- 2:09Speaker 1: It was weird.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Yeah, hot Cross buns have not really they're not really
- 2:13Speaker 3: hot Cross buns anymore. They're just sort of flavored buns.
- 2:16Speaker 1: It's a weird texture.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean there used to be back in my day.
- 2:20Speaker 3: You get easy to get your hot Cross buns and
- 2:21Speaker 3: they would be traditionally just one flavor. They'd be kind
- 2:23Speaker 3: of a cinnamon flavored dough with raisins, Sultana's all through
- 2:28Speaker 3: it or whatever and across on top and that was it,
- 2:30Speaker 3: and then let's throw in some chocolate chips. But after part,
- 2:33Speaker 3: let's make some variants. Yes, guys' favorite word.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Make sure they're limited.
- 2:38Speaker 3: And make sure they're limited, and they certainly were. But no,
- 2:41Speaker 3: I enjoyed hot Cross buns for a very long time
- 2:43Speaker 3: and I'm down to my last one. So, I mean,
- 2:46Speaker 3: I don't know what supermarket you're going to, but there's
- 2:48Speaker 3: still like a fair fee on the shelves and there a.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Lot of the day just the day before Good Friday,
- 2:52Speaker 1: everyone is cleaned up and then they'll probably baked more.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Yeah, they had a bunch out in the back.
- 2:56Speaker 1: In the back room, everyone just went they go crazy
- 2:58Speaker 1: when there's going to be a public holiday and the
- 3:00Speaker 1: supermarkets are close. Always a Thursday before Good Friday, supermarkets
- 3:03Speaker 1: are packed. It's it's like COVID mate, It's insane.
- 3:07Speaker 3: It was really interest because I mean, yeah, I went
- 3:09Speaker 3: to the supermarket. I think on that Thursday, it seemed
- 3:11Speaker 3: like there were great clouds coming in, Like it was like, Oh,
- 3:13Speaker 3: we're all battening down for the big storm, and everyone's
- 3:16Speaker 3: in this everyone's in the supermarkets. Like this feels like
- 3:19Speaker 3: the real end of the world stuff.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Yeah, my poop was on the roof and you had
- 3:22Speaker 1: a shot game. I'm gonna lie. I kind of liked it.
- 3:26Speaker 1: I feel like it might have been that night. Yeah,
- 3:29Speaker 1: I went to supermarket. It smell like I was going
- 3:31Speaker 1: to rain, but it wasn't raining, and it was still warm.
- 3:33Speaker 1: It was just a real eerie feeling because it was
- 3:36Speaker 1: it was just it was bizarre. It felt like we
- 3:37Speaker 1: were at the start of that movie The Mist. Yeah, guys,
- 3:41Speaker 1: phone just went off. I was sorry, folks, I honestly
- 3:44Speaker 1: thought i'd muted this. It doesn't matter.
- 3:47Speaker 3: It's a message from the lovely Louise who was having
- 3:49Speaker 3: breakfast with her friend mel Oh. Okay, nice, you're saying,
- 3:51Speaker 3: it's gorgeous out here, and I'm like, baby, I mean
- 3:53Speaker 3: he's talking to Dan, which is gorgeous in.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Its own way, but so or troubling news here at
- 4:01Speaker 1: the dan her household. We've both got troubling news on
- 4:04Speaker 1: the weekend. Both. So your mother and my grandmother both
- 4:07Speaker 1: had an issue. So my grandmother fell over in her bathroom,
- 4:10Speaker 1: broke her hip. So she's at the age of eighty six,
- 4:13Speaker 1: she's in hospital now, struggling, but she I'll say this,
- 4:17Speaker 1: I'll tell the story. So they gave us a medication
- 4:20Speaker 1: called end don't I believe it's called to ease the
- 4:22Speaker 1: pain after her surgery, and it caused her kidneys to
- 4:26Speaker 1: fail and she technically died. She died in bed, and
- 4:30Speaker 1: they were quickly thinking of ways, how we're going to
- 4:31Speaker 1: resuscitate it. We're going to do CPR, How are we going
- 4:33Speaker 1: to use the zapp things whatever they called the triper
- 4:35Speaker 1: if he blows, yeah, what are we going to do here?
- 4:37Speaker 1: And then Grandma just went just bring myself back to life,
- 4:40Speaker 1: just started breathing by herself again. I thought that generation mate.
- 4:43Speaker 1: And now she's now she's sitting up for it. Now
- 4:45Speaker 1: she's sitting up eating dinner and she's ready to start
- 4:47Speaker 1: using a walk again. I was like, you were dead
- 4:50Speaker 1: years two days ago he was walking around again. I
- 4:53Speaker 1: said to you, I stuck my toe. I'm laying down
- 4:55Speaker 1: for a week. Mate. Oh yeah, look I look ever
- 4:59Speaker 1: so slightly to the left. I can't move. Yeah, for
- 5:03Speaker 1: like a good half hour. Got my grandma's generation. I'm dead,
- 5:05Speaker 1: am I Oh nah, wait a minute, I left the oven.
- 5:11Speaker 1: I've got to.
- 5:13Speaker 3: But to my grandma, kind of my running that they
- 5:16Speaker 3: gave her end on and then it ended up Yeah
- 5:19Speaker 3: for a moment, but too tough.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Yeah she's way too to Yeah you cannot stop that woman.
- 5:24Speaker 1: But yeah you're god mother.
- 5:25Speaker 3: And yeah, Margaret Mary talking about it, of course I
- 5:29Speaker 3: lead with hot gross buns. My mom goes into hospital
- 5:31Speaker 3: on Saturday, the day before east of Sunday. There are
- 5:34Speaker 3: always bugs going around. One of my sisters had a
- 5:38Speaker 3: bit of a cough kind of thing, a bit of
- 5:39Speaker 3: a chest infection.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Winter is coming.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Winter is indeed coming, passing on the mum, who then
- 5:44Speaker 3: got a bacterial infection on top of that. Yeah, breathing
- 5:47Speaker 3: became a bit difficult. Margaret Mary, God bless her ninety
- 5:51Speaker 3: four years of age, still living alone, still trudging up
- 5:54Speaker 3: and down the stairs once or twice a day. But
- 5:57Speaker 3: you know, this was really taking a toll on us.
- 5:59Speaker 3: So one of my sisters and I ushered her into
- 6:02Speaker 3: the Good Catholic Hospital here in geelongs and John of.
- 6:04Speaker 1: God, she does not want to go.
- 6:06Speaker 3: She is normally kind of reluctant to accept any help
- 6:09Speaker 3: in this regard.
- 6:10Speaker 1: They can fix it themselves.
- 6:11Speaker 3: They can.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Indeed, our generations can't someone else do it? There?
- 6:16Speaker 3: I means she would say, your sister pro had this,
- 6:19Speaker 3: and she yeah, she's fixed up.
- 6:20Speaker 1: And I'm like, you're.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Ninety four, accept a little help. You know you're gonna
- 6:25Speaker 3: you're gonna need just a little bit of assistance to
- 6:27Speaker 3: maybe get over something like this. She reluctantly went into
- 6:31Speaker 3: the emergency department. They gave her a bit of a
- 6:33Speaker 3: once over, hooked her up to some IV, got the
- 6:36Speaker 3: antibiotics and the steroids flowing through, and now she's jacked.
- 6:39Speaker 1: But yeah, when she was in.
- 6:40Speaker 3: There, she's like, oh, this is nicest, blanket's very warm,
- 6:42Speaker 3: and oh they've give me a nice thing of pumpkin
- 6:44Speaker 3: soup and oh near the Telly's on. They put her
- 6:47Speaker 3: into a room She's like, oh, this is not this,
- 6:49Speaker 3: this is going to happen every once in a while.
- 6:51Speaker 3: She just like, is going to need to go to
- 6:54Speaker 3: hospital and be taken care of. This implies that her
- 6:56Speaker 3: family is not taken care of her. We certainly are,
- 6:58Speaker 3: but sometimes you got to put leave it to the professionals. Yes,
- 7:00Speaker 3: but anyway, Margaret Mary is on the mend. That's great news. Yeah,
- 7:05Speaker 3: as we said, this generation just built different.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Indeed, now I've got to do the follow up to
- 7:10Speaker 1: the last week's story about Danner getting a cat. So
- 7:13Speaker 1: oh yeah, So what happened was brief little no previously
- 7:17Speaker 1: on four figure discount a cat, which we assume was
- 7:19Speaker 1: the strike. It comeing to our back door, no cola,
- 7:21Speaker 1: middle of the night. I always come to a back
- 7:22Speaker 1: door about ten thirty eleven. I eventually ended its trust
- 7:25Speaker 1: and it sort of came inside and we put it
- 7:27Speaker 1: in the cage, we will say, at our house for
- 7:28Speaker 1: a couple of days, just slept inside, just hanging out.
- 7:30Speaker 1: We eventually took it to the vet and the vet
- 7:32Speaker 1: scanned it. No mircrot chip goes here and I'm sure
- 7:35Speaker 1: whether it's the same overseas, but in Australia we have
- 7:37Speaker 1: Michael chips, so everyone knows who owns each cat. No
- 7:39Speaker 1: market chip, no coler, wasn't fixed up. They said, this
- 7:42Speaker 1: is just a classic case of Australia. So they took
- 7:45Speaker 1: it to the Pound. Has to be there for a week.
- 7:46Speaker 1: They put it on their website saying is this your cat?
- 7:48Speaker 1: If it is, you can come claim it. I said,
- 7:49Speaker 1: if it's not claimed after a week, you guys can
- 7:51Speaker 1: come and adopt. It's a great name was on top
- 7:54Speaker 1: of the list. Blah blah blah. So we get to
- 7:55Speaker 1: the final day. I get a phone call from the Pound.
- 7:58Speaker 1: I go, okay, great is it them saying come pick
- 7:59Speaker 1: it up the go. Unfortunately the owner claimed it this morning.
- 8:02Speaker 1: He went nice one. So I was at our house
- 8:04Speaker 1: for a few days and then a week later they
- 8:05Speaker 1: finally claim it. Whatever, so they pay the release forms.
- 8:08Speaker 1: They fixed the cat up that day they said yea,
- 8:10Speaker 1: it was going home. Blah blah blah. That night at
- 8:14Speaker 1: ten ten it is back at our back door again,
- 8:16Speaker 1: no collar on. After surgery in the middle of the night.
- 8:20Speaker 3: One might suggest that we're dealing with some deadbeat cat parents.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Yes, so I said to Nicola, well, we're just going
- 8:27Speaker 1: to keep this cat for a few days. I said,
- 8:28Speaker 1: I'm not put and the cart at the pound. They said, well,
- 8:30Speaker 1: we have to do the process one more time. They
- 8:32Speaker 1: get to do it twice. After the second time, if
- 8:34Speaker 1: it goes back to your house, then we can take
- 8:37Speaker 1: other options and try and get you to adopt the cat.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Blah blah blah. And I said to Nicola, but I
- 8:41Speaker 1: don't want this cat to have to go through the
- 8:42Speaker 1: stress and trauma of getting taken in the van and
- 8:44Speaker 1: taken to the pound and locked in a cage for
- 8:46Speaker 1: a week because their owner is irresponsible. And I said
- 8:49Speaker 1: that to the people at the pound. I said, well,
- 8:51Speaker 1: I'm not doing that. I said, it's not the cat's
- 8:53Speaker 1: fault that the owners are responsible. I don't want this
- 8:55Speaker 1: cat to have to go through that stress. Again, she went, well,
- 8:58Speaker 1: unfortunately you have to. I said, well, I'm not. You
- 9:01Speaker 1: can't make me. I'm not doing that. So I said
- 9:04Speaker 1: to them, give them my phone number, don't give them
- 9:07Speaker 1: my address. Give them my phone number, and if they
- 9:09Speaker 1: want this cat, they can call me and explain to
- 9:12Speaker 1: me why the fuck it is out. On the day
- 9:14Speaker 1: that I had surgery, oh, some Francis of ASSISI here
- 9:18Speaker 1: friend to all animals. That's you. Yeah, just dis infuriating,
- 9:20Speaker 1: Yes it is. And what this car has to be
- 9:22Speaker 1: locked in a casion taking to the pound again for
- 9:24Speaker 1: a week because your owner is too lazy to look
- 9:26Speaker 1: after it. So anyway, the cat stayed at our house
- 9:28Speaker 1: and it's sleeping in our bed last night. Nicola loves it.
- 9:29Speaker 1: She wants to keep it.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Listeners should be aware that I have seen this cat
- 9:34Speaker 3: for the first time.
- 9:35Speaker 1: So cute, so cute, It's super lovable. Obviously right away
- 9:39Speaker 1: from guy, because as you would expect.
- 9:42Speaker 3: Most you know, things with the poles tend to run
- 9:44Speaker 3: away from me. So I get the feeling that this
- 9:48Speaker 3: cat and I will still become very good friends.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Yes, indeed, yes at the moment it's still living here.
- 9:53Speaker 1: We shall find out. But before we get into some
- 9:56Speaker 1: mailbag questions here on the community podcast, we said we
- 9:59Speaker 1: talked about some Simpsons news, so we'll cover some Simpsons news.
- 10:01Speaker 1: We're also going to be having the creator of the
- 10:04Speaker 1: Assassins on the show a little bit later, so look
- 10:06Speaker 1: look at for that as well. We're talking about the shoes,
- 10:08Speaker 1: the shoes, the assassin's shoes, yes, which we discussed. Now
- 10:10Speaker 1: Butt's dog gets an f podcast.
- 10:11Speaker 3: I'm not talking about actual assassins, and.
- 10:13Speaker 1: We're going to be getting our own pairs with our
- 10:15Speaker 1: own little license plates.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Oh my goodness.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Dan to one guy. So we discussed on a recent podcast.
- 10:21Speaker 1: The show has been renewed for four more seasons, Simpsons.
- 10:25Speaker 1: You're not talking about full thing of this guy taking
- 10:26Speaker 1: it through to two season forty breaking records, blah blah blah.
- 10:30Speaker 1: But we discussed this with ABC News last week and
- 10:33Speaker 1: the article is now online. You can find it. I'll
- 10:35Speaker 1: put the link for it in the description of this show.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Written by a man Luke Lukeoper. Yeah, Luke Cooper, indeed,
- 10:41Speaker 1: yes and yeah. It was a great chat with for
- 10:43Speaker 1: about half an hour and he got some good quotes.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Changing a little bit slightly. But I'm like, this sounds better.
- 10:48Speaker 1: This is what has made me sound intelligent. This is
- 10:50Speaker 1: what journalists do.
- 10:51Speaker 3: I mean, journal's couple a lot of flak for like,
- 10:55Speaker 3: that's not exactly what I said. It's like, yeah, I
- 10:56Speaker 3: made your sound better. Pow, I counted all yours and.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, much more articulate. So going down, I sound
- 11:03Speaker 1: very intelligent. In this article basically discussing the longevity of
- 11:05Speaker 1: the Simpsons and how it's managed to stay on the
- 11:08Speaker 1: air and stay relevant besides the fact that it's not
- 11:11Speaker 1: really representative of the average family. Well, I think that
- 11:15Speaker 1: was what gave it the superstartum in the first place.
- 11:18Speaker 3: Yeah, and that was the article's main thrust was, like
- 11:20Speaker 3: it does the Simpsons still represent the average family?
- 11:22Speaker 1: Which it does not. No, not at all. But we
- 11:24Speaker 1: explain why we think the show is still on the air,
- 11:26Speaker 1: So you look at for that. You can link in
- 11:29Speaker 1: the scription of this podcast. Now, I did those a
- 11:32Speaker 1: little bit of extra information that we didn't cover when
- 11:34Speaker 1: we talked about The Simpsons being renewed. I read an article.
- 11:37Speaker 1: This could be wrong, but I've read two different articles
- 11:39Speaker 1: that said they've being renewed for fifteen episodes a season. Okay,
- 11:43Speaker 1: then that's got to be the shortest seasons in Simpsons history,
- 11:46Speaker 1: besides the first season, which was thirteen episodes. If this
- 11:49Speaker 1: is true, bizarre. But maybe it's because they're now doing
- 11:52Speaker 1: the Disney Plus exclusives and it's part of a case
- 11:55Speaker 1: of fifteen for TV seven for Disney.
- 11:57Speaker 3: That makes a lot of sense. Yeah, I think it's
- 11:59Speaker 3: also just the way the industry is going in terms
- 12:01Speaker 3: of like, yeah, shortened attention spans, shortened contracts for writers,
- 12:05Speaker 3: all that kind of business. I'm sure they have their reasons.
- 12:07Speaker 3: I'm maybe they articulated in those articles. But yeah, you're
- 12:11Speaker 3: finding that the twenty two episode season is becoming a
- 12:15Speaker 3: more and more rare.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Also, the shows are longer, so a lot of the
- 12:18Speaker 1: shows we watched now forty minute episodes as opposed to
- 12:20Speaker 1: the old twenty two Right. But I do find when
- 12:23Speaker 1: you watch a particularly a newer season of the Simpsons,
- 12:27Speaker 1: there's ten ish really like not not great episodes, but
- 12:30Speaker 1: ten ish good episodes and some filler as well. Right,
- 12:33Speaker 1: maybe this will also be a case of hey, look,
- 12:36Speaker 1: we can now focus on delivering.
- 12:38Speaker 3: How about we give you mostly killer.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Yeah, not as much filmer, as much filler, even less filler. Yeah,
- 12:43Speaker 1: So we'll see what happens there. But apparently fifteen episodes
- 12:45Speaker 1: of a season which I thought was interesting. But I
- 12:47Speaker 1: was talking about the Disney Plus exclusives. One just dropped
- 12:49Speaker 1: today called Yellow Planet to celebrate Earth Day. I haven't
- 12:52Speaker 1: watched it yet, but I thought maybe we could talk
- 12:54Speaker 1: about it for Patreon. Maybe potentially that's a very good idea,
- 12:57Speaker 1: is when we'll both have a look at it and
- 12:59Speaker 1: give thoughts on it. But yeah, this is apparently it's
- 13:03Speaker 1: a bit of a I was about to say a
- 13:04Speaker 1: pis take, but no, no, more like an homage to
- 13:07Speaker 1: national geographic style nature documents and the sins his family
- 13:10Speaker 1: sort of reimagined as animals and not not narrated by
- 13:14Speaker 1: the great David Attenbranch. These things are.
- 13:17Speaker 3: That is a shame, But I imagine he's sort of
- 13:19Speaker 3: got things on his mind, like, you know, saving the planet.
- 13:22Speaker 3: So they got in Hugh Bonneville, who is a star
- 13:26Speaker 3: of the hit series downt Nabby, is also Paddington's dad.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Really in the movies, I still haven't watched them. I know,
- 13:33Speaker 1: you tell me they unbelievable.
- 13:39Speaker 3: Pennington two is great, it's lovely. I've yet to see
- 13:42Speaker 3: Paddington in Peru.
- 13:43Speaker 1: The third one, which is a kid's seen it and
- 13:45Speaker 1: they thought it was okay, Okay, I am.
- 13:48Speaker 3: I'm hearing that as well, because yeah, from a different
- 13:50Speaker 3: filmmaker than the one who made the first.
- 13:51Speaker 1: But the first two are lovely. Yeah, Paddington, check him out,
- 13:54Speaker 1: Check him out.
- 13:54Speaker 3: Indeed, Hugh Bonneville is the narrator on Yellow Planet, Yeah,
- 13:59Speaker 3: which is on this plus Disney plus Yeah.
- 14:02Speaker 1: The other two exclusive episodes have been fined. There was
- 14:05Speaker 1: a Christmas one, and there was something else as well.
- 14:07Speaker 1: They were okay, yeah, nothing.
- 14:10Speaker 3: But what as you pointed out when we spoke with
- 14:13Speaker 3: with Luke from the ABC, I mean, The Simpsons is
- 14:16Speaker 3: changing with the times in a lot of way, and
- 14:18Speaker 3: not just in the way that the show itself has
- 14:20Speaker 3: made the traditional sort of mothership show.
- 14:21Speaker 1: But they are doing. Yeah, these shorts that.
- 14:26Speaker 3: I'm sorry, I'm going to be old man yells at
- 14:27Speaker 3: cloud here, but yeah, are catered to a bag like.
- 14:30Speaker 1: What do we do.
- 14:33Speaker 3: We give you water, tempt you from the sun, I'm
- 14:36Speaker 3: shooting you from the south, particularly you with your Irish complexion.
- 14:39Speaker 3: They're sort of tailored to the younger generations, shall we
- 14:42Speaker 3: say shorter attention spans.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Disney shorts are Yeah, it's nice. It's a nice little snack. Yeah.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Well this isn't a short, this is a Disney Plus exclusive. Okay. Yeah,
- 14:50Speaker 1: so they're doing They've done full fledged episodes, now that's
- 14:52Speaker 1: what I'm trying to say. So they're fifteen episode's full
- 14:54Speaker 1: length on TV. Oh yeah, there's that absolute Yeah, you
- 14:57Speaker 1: also got the short. The Disney shorts are definitely they're
- 15:00Speaker 1: and I didn't see it this way until I was
- 15:02Speaker 1: with Matt that night, like Salomon, and he goes, they
- 15:04Speaker 1: literally just tell us to make that because kids don't
- 15:06Speaker 1: want to watch a full episode, so that's how we
- 15:07Speaker 1: attract new kids to watch the show. And I was like,
- 15:10Speaker 1: it actually makes sense. He's like taking a swig from
- 15:12Speaker 1: his drink and he's like, it's not out used to me.
- 15:16Speaker 1: I watched, I watched his soul left leave his body.
- 15:19Speaker 1: When because with Philip Rosenthal and we're doing just excuse me,
- 15:23Speaker 1: I got to put on my hard hat, like I'm
- 15:24Speaker 1: so many names dropping, but it's like a pub crawl, right,
- 15:26Speaker 1: but it's restaurants and all the chefs coming out there
- 15:28Speaker 1: just like we're not worthy to fill right and Phil.
- 15:32Speaker 1: So Matt's sitting there and like, oh is this your friend?
- 15:34Speaker 1: And Phil goes, do you watch the Simpsons? And everyone
- 15:36Speaker 1: was like, no, not anymore. Oh damn, and matth discuss
- 15:41Speaker 1: no one ever says to watching the Simpsons anymore. If
- 15:46Speaker 1: they do, they're lying.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Still, I'm sure Matt Salmon is sleeping on a bit
- 15:50Speaker 3: of money surrounded by me and beautiful ladies.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Yes, indeed, Yeah, that was That was a fun night.
- 15:55Speaker 1: But Yeah, let's get some mailbag questions and we'll come
- 15:56Speaker 1: back to some more news little bit later. We got
- 15:58Speaker 1: a heap of them, we'll start to love the Keddy
- 16:00Speaker 1: with a one hundred dollars support. So, Katy G. You
- 16:03Speaker 1: get your first question answered. She says, which character would
- 16:06Speaker 1: you love to interview from any animator show that you
- 16:09Speaker 1: guys do a podcast about.
- 16:12Speaker 3: That's a really good question from Katy G. I'm not
- 16:13Speaker 3: just saying that because of the Chris Pundi we get
- 16:16Speaker 3: every month. That's actually that's a really solid question. It's
- 16:18Speaker 3: one that I gave a bit of thought to. Unlike
- 16:20Speaker 3: the others, I didn't give any thought to them. No, No,
- 16:23Speaker 3: I thought about every single question, but yours most of all.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Katie. It also depends what time. Just say, we'ld interviewing
- 16:28Speaker 1: them on a podcast, right, Yeah, it depends what kind
- 16:30Speaker 1: of podcast it is. If it's like a Joe Rogan
- 16:32Speaker 1: podcast and you want like like a bender on there,
- 16:34Speaker 1: wouldn't you someone is just going to have opinions, no
- 16:38Speaker 1: filter and no filter. That's exactly right. All right, Well,
- 16:42Speaker 1: with that in mind, did you who do you?
- 16:43Speaker 3: Who are you thinking of?
- 16:44Speaker 1: I think it'd be the top of my head, I
- 16:46Speaker 1: think it'd be really fun to do a like an
- 16:49Speaker 1: inside the actor studio, like a deep dive with Troy McClure. Oh,
- 16:53Speaker 1: talking about but that's great, that's good, well done you Yeah, sorry,
- 16:59Speaker 1: go on, Yeah, that's this just came to my mind.
- 17:01Speaker 1: So I was thinking, just hearing his struggles and what
- 17:03Speaker 1: he went through, I feel like that's the kind of
- 17:04Speaker 1: interview that would just smash it. In twenty twenty five,
- 17:07Speaker 1: hearing the Troy McClure story as told by Phil Harmon, well, yeah,
- 17:12Speaker 1: absolutely from beyond the Grave.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Um, if I were to do a late career pivot
- 17:21Speaker 3: and become a Joe Rogan, theo von style grifterin podcast,
- 17:28Speaker 3: but have one of those really free range three hour
- 17:32Speaker 3: conversations Rogan with Mel Gibson, which is one of the
- 17:35Speaker 3: most you always go to that one. I found it
- 17:37Speaker 3: absolutely fascinating. Both these people are insane to different degrees.
- 17:42Speaker 3: Gibson is well and truly off the reservation, and.
- 17:44Speaker 1: It's like Rogan as insane as he's even he realizes
- 17:47Speaker 1: and gets sort of goes, I don't stop this end.
- 17:51Speaker 3: It's like he's on a cross country road tip with
- 17:53Speaker 3: a guy who was increasingly drunk behind the wheel. But
- 17:57Speaker 3: at the same time, Gibson is incredibly compelling, even though
- 18:00Speaker 3: his stuff that he's talking about is nuts. But if
- 18:03Speaker 3: I was going to be that kind of interviewer, I
- 18:06Speaker 3: would want to speak to King of the Hills Dale Gribble, Yeah,
- 18:08Speaker 3: and find out a silla Yeah, find about his uh
- 18:12Speaker 3: what makes him tick? Yeah, his worldview, what shapes him,
- 18:14Speaker 3: you know how, and particularly in twenty twenty five, how
- 18:17Speaker 3: he's seen the state.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Of the world.
- 18:18Speaker 3: I would find that remarkable. And then and then you know,
- 18:22Speaker 3: just episode gently sort of prying into his private life,
- 18:25Speaker 3: and you know, it's like, hey, well you're a doting father,
- 18:27Speaker 3: but hey, notice that the kid well you know, and
- 18:32Speaker 3: you know, see if I could draw him out, But no,
- 18:35Speaker 3: I think Dale is very set in his ways. But
- 18:36Speaker 3: I'd love to explore just what's going on in that
- 18:39Speaker 3: man's head.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Yeah. Fantastic. All right, let's get to another question. Sure.
- 18:42Speaker 1: This one's from Harrison McClure, and he says, what's your
- 18:45Speaker 1: favorite Easter chocolate slash food. Well, we've talked about hot
- 18:48Speaker 1: Cross buns already. Do you have a particular chocolate that
- 18:51Speaker 1: you like. I like the Cadbury bunnies, right, but I
- 18:55Speaker 1: like the top bit and the bottom because that's really thick.
- 18:58Speaker 1: The base of the bunny is always get sure. Yeah,
- 19:01Speaker 1: now I get where.
- 19:01Speaker 3: You're coming from. Look, I can't go past the buns.
- 19:05Speaker 3: I can't go past the in the many variations we had.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Big buns in the Canada. That's great. You're kind of
- 19:13Speaker 1: you're tremperditious about you should have gone for full throttle.
- 19:19Speaker 3: We've mentioned this many times. I'm only going to say
- 19:20Speaker 3: it one more time. Easter is over. But yes, these
- 19:22Speaker 3: Banoffi Hot Cross buns that we have Banoffi Pie hot
- 19:25Speaker 3: Cross buns that we had at Aldi, I thought were
- 19:28Speaker 3: just fantastic. You cannot beat the combination of hot cross buns,
- 19:32Speaker 3: soft texture with banana and toffee sort of studded all
- 19:35Speaker 3: through it.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Magnifiict love it. She's kiss now chocolate on their hand.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Was over at the Looz the other day and you
- 19:45Speaker 1: know she's got the big bowl of there is eggs
- 19:48Speaker 1: and chocolate thingies for the for the kids and for
- 19:51Speaker 1: us as well, eating just a regular Easter egg and yeah,
- 19:55Speaker 1: she ate half and he goes, this is very bland.
- 19:58Speaker 1: I said, yeah, that's the thing.
- 19:59Speaker 3: A lot of Easter egg they just kind of yeah,
- 20:01Speaker 3: they're neither sweet nor sour. They're just kind of there.
- 20:04Speaker 3: When I say sour, I mean, you know, like a
- 20:06Speaker 3: dark chocolate, you know what I mean. But this was
- 20:09Speaker 3: just kind of I won't sound It's like eating cardboard.
- 20:11Speaker 3: It's like she ate maybe half the egg.
- 20:13Speaker 1: I took a little bit of an how I kind
- 20:14Speaker 1: of feel eating those hot Cross buns. I'm not enjoying this.
- 20:18Speaker 1: So why am I putting these calories in my body
- 20:19Speaker 1: if I'm not enjoying it?
- 20:20Speaker 3: Yeah, that's why I'm so happy that the kind of
- 20:22Speaker 3: new flavors have come up. But one other thing that
- 20:25Speaker 3: Lou did have in this, in this little basket of eggs,
- 20:29Speaker 3: you know, Cabri went a little wild with their flavors
- 20:32Speaker 3: and they had like a Turkish Delight Easter egg and
- 20:35Speaker 3: I had one, and I had another, and I had
- 20:38Speaker 3: one more, really and I said no more and had
- 20:41Speaker 3: another one, just one really nice Turkish Delight Easter eggs. Fantastic,
- 20:46Speaker 3: really hit the spot.

- 21:18Speaker 1: this next one here comes from I believe it's Dawn Clark.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Is that correct? Dawn Clark says, you're in charge of
- 21:24Speaker 1: a big night out in Springfield. Where do we go? Well,
- 21:27Speaker 1: it's a student we have a crawl or some come.
- 21:29Speaker 1: We go to multiple places at some point depending on
- 21:33Speaker 1: who the crowd is. You got to go past Mademoiselle's,
- 21:36Speaker 1: the Burlascaus. Oh sure absolutely, because they put the spring
- 21:40Speaker 1: in Springfield. Cool. How old are we just say? We're teenagers? Right,
- 21:46Speaker 1: we're in Springfield. We're of age. Where are we going?
- 21:50Speaker 1: Would you go to? Most? Do you think? Whatever? It
- 21:52Speaker 1: just be dank and depressing.
- 21:53Speaker 3: I've got nothing wrong with visiting a dive bar. I
- 21:55Speaker 3: love that it, yeah, and I get the feeling. This
- 21:57Speaker 3: is the diviest of dive bars in Springfield. So yeah,
- 22:00Speaker 3: think I would. Here's my rundown for the evening. It's
- 22:03Speaker 3: not very expansive, but I think, you know, it sort
- 22:05Speaker 3: of covers a lot of the bases in a lot
- 22:06Speaker 3: of ways. Start with a couple of drinks at mos
- 22:08Speaker 3: soak up the ambiance. Maybe try to get to bring
- 22:11Speaker 3: the Flaming mo or the Flaming Home out of retirement.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Yeah, that'd be cool. Yeah, I think that'd be quite nice,
- 22:16Speaker 1: even though everyone's doing them now that's true. Either love
- 22:19Speaker 1: testa machine.
- 22:20Speaker 3: Oh yeah, get to get some of those pickled eggs.
- 22:24Speaker 3: I would then drop by the lesbian bar that had
- 22:26Speaker 3: no fire escape, but I couldn't stay long because well
- 22:28Speaker 3: it's a death trap. These lesbian's canna enjoy their death trap.
- 22:31Speaker 3: Any sort of booze build up that I had generated
- 22:35Speaker 3: by that time, I would dance it off at the
- 22:37Speaker 3: Anvil because I'm an inclusive kind of person. Yeah, and
- 22:40Speaker 3: those guys at the Ambal they work out, but they
- 22:42Speaker 3: play do indeed. Yeah, it just looks like fun. It
- 22:45Speaker 3: looks like a good place to go having a good time.
- 22:47Speaker 3: Everyone's having a good time. Yeah, look, I would probably
- 22:50Speaker 3: get some.
- 22:51Speaker 1: It's dirty takeaway from somewhere, don't you.
- 22:53Speaker 3: Well, well, at the end, you know you've got to
- 22:54Speaker 3: your top it off with a late night Krusty Berger. Yeah,
- 22:56Speaker 3: but at the Anvil I was like, sure, I'm flattered,
- 22:59Speaker 3: maybe a little interested, but the answer is not. I'm
- 23:02Speaker 3: after Krusty Burger to get a late night Krusty Burger,
- 23:04Speaker 3: and I'll call it a nighte krusty Burger.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I love it. I'd love to.
- 23:07Speaker 3: See I don't think i'd do the gilded truffle. I
- 23:09Speaker 3: think it's too fantasy fancy.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Now.
- 23:10Speaker 1: I'd love to see the full fledged Crusty Burger menu.
- 23:13Speaker 1: I think we've ever seen it. That's a good idea.
- 23:15Speaker 1: I want to see what's else's Krusty Berger. What's on
- 23:18Speaker 1: the menu? What are the varieties of Krusty Burger? Yeah?
- 23:20Speaker 3: Do you think they're going the hungry Jacks aka burger
- 23:24Speaker 3: King to our American friends and friends another.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Pat, I think they're a burger king. I think the
- 23:27Speaker 1: vibe that's what I'm getting.
- 23:29Speaker 3: Yeah, So it would be occasionally it's like, okay, yeah,
- 23:32Speaker 3: try our ranch style, or you know, try our angry onions,
- 23:35Speaker 3: or we branch out the chicken tenders all this kind
- 23:38Speaker 3: of business. So, yeah, it would be very interesting.
- 23:40Speaker 1: To see you.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Yeah, to see a full on Krusty Burger menu. I
- 23:46Speaker 3: think one of our very talented listeners should probably try
- 23:49Speaker 3: and come up.
- 23:49Speaker 1: With that, and then we'll monetarz I reckon Hungry jack
- 23:52Speaker 1: slas Burger King Hungry Jacksonwe in Australia rides that fine
- 23:55Speaker 1: line of feeling like junk food but also sophisticated, where
- 23:58Speaker 1: macis tries too hard to be whisticated. For me these days,
- 24:01Speaker 1: it's just everything's everything's look at it. It's just we've
- 24:05Speaker 1: got macaroons. It's just got no personality anymore. To me.
- 24:08Speaker 1: I walk in, it's just screens and kids looking miserable
- 24:12Speaker 1: and that pipip bip sound. I'm like, no, this place
- 24:16Speaker 1: feels like a hospital. It's just it's not fun anymore.
- 24:19Speaker 3: It is like I'm sure, I'm sure I've said this before,
- 24:22Speaker 3: but it's like the end of the original Terminator and.
- 24:27Speaker 1: When they end up I think it.
- 24:28Speaker 3: I think they're out cybertin systems and you know, they're
- 24:31Speaker 3: being chased by the terminator that's had the n old
- 24:32Speaker 3: skin sort of burned off it and be chased by
- 24:34Speaker 3: the robot. Then the handler is turning on all the machines.
- 24:39Speaker 3: That's what it's like going to Mackets.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Yeah. I never go inside anymore because it's just too depressing.
- 24:43Speaker 2: I know.
- 24:43Speaker 3: I just do the drive through.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, but hungry Jacks, I'm still got that, still
- 24:46Speaker 1: got that classic junk food vibe, but also it's sophisticated.
- 24:51Speaker 3: It really does Leu Andara on the road. It smells
- 24:54Speaker 3: good a little while ago, and like we just we're hungry.
- 24:58Speaker 3: We don't really want to stop any where. We're just
- 25:00Speaker 3: we have some jacks and we'll eat on the road.
- 25:03Speaker 3: You know, well, you know it's got to be better
- 25:04Speaker 3: than macers say, okay, see, I was like, I'm not
- 25:07Speaker 3: sure if it is.
- 25:07Speaker 1: After we ate it half of it. We sort of
- 25:10Speaker 1: don't eat their chicken booth, but I reckon. I think
- 25:13Speaker 1: McDonald's chicken is the worst of all. If you're gonna
- 25:15Speaker 1: get chicken, get KFC. Oh absolutely don't get my chickens.
- 25:19Speaker 3: And clearly just turn it because an EDG just came
- 25:20Speaker 3: off on my phone saying habaner all stuff. Really, I think, yeah,
- 25:25Speaker 3: they clearly know which buttons to push for me, because
- 25:27Speaker 3: it was like, yeah, we've got fried chicken, but we're
- 25:30Speaker 3: also putting a bit of a Mexican flavor in it, Like,
- 25:33Speaker 3: oh damn man, now I've gotta go there for lunch.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Guys always send a messaging have you seen this? Have
- 25:36Speaker 1: you seen this? You're like, I'm looking for you. Well,
- 25:40Speaker 1: they've got a good deal.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Now.
- 25:41Speaker 1: We be got KFC on the weekend because I just
- 25:42Speaker 1: could not be bothered cooking. And how many times we
- 25:49Speaker 1: heard that sentence, I know, and it was gone, my
- 25:51Speaker 1: grandma what not? Me just had found me over and
- 25:53Speaker 1: it was get KFC and for fifty bucks, get like
- 25:55Speaker 1: six burgers, three chips, chicken tenders and stuff. And I
- 25:58Speaker 1: was like, it's ever everybody. Yeah, go to a restaurant.
- 26:03Speaker 1: One meal is like forty five dollars. Oh god. Yeah. Yeah.
- 26:08Speaker 3: Lou and her son Isaac and I we went out
- 26:10Speaker 3: to yeah steakhouse here in Geelong on Saturday nights.
- 26:13Speaker 1: I think you can call him the prodigy Apoligy.
- 26:17Speaker 3: He's a prodigy, yeah, Felix, Felix, he's the musical product,
- 26:21Speaker 3: musical project.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:22Speaker 3: Isaac is just a brainiac and shaping into a fine
- 26:26Speaker 3: young man. Yeah, but we all enjoyed a steak But boy,
- 26:29Speaker 3: did we pay for it? And I just don't mean spiritually,
- 26:32Speaker 3: I mean financially.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, Trainiac Maniac says, are there any Simpsons one
- 26:37Speaker 1: off characters that you'd love to see return? And if so,
- 26:40Speaker 1: what do you think they could offer in their second appearance?
- 26:43Speaker 1: Also love from a fellow jelong resident, keep up the
- 26:46Speaker 1: aws like, oh, Trainiac Maniac, let us know your actual name? Yeah,
- 26:50Speaker 1: catch up with some beers. That's right, KF Yes, so
- 26:54Speaker 1: Simpsons one of the characters that you'd like to see return.
- 26:56Speaker 1: I actually put a meme out that has been garnering
- 26:59Speaker 1: somewhat of a lot of a action, a lot of
- 27:00Speaker 1: traction on Twitter and yourself. So it was basically saying
- 27:05Speaker 1: that the Simpsons movie, we did a commentary for it
- 27:07Speaker 1: on our Patreon. Everyone who signed with the Patriot gets
- 27:09Speaker 1: access to the commentary where they have a villain named
- 27:13Speaker 1: Russ Cargill. He runs the EPA or whatever, and everyone
- 27:17Speaker 1: has everyone. But a lot of people have said it
- 27:20Speaker 1: was right there. Why didn't you bring back like a
- 27:21Speaker 1: Hank Scorpio or a character that everyone knew, And they
- 27:24Speaker 1: have said it since that they wanted to not have
- 27:28Speaker 1: a character that would be too niche that new audiences
- 27:30Speaker 1: would understand, and you look in retrospect and go, why
- 27:32Speaker 1: the fuck does that matter? You know, I said, it's
- 27:34Speaker 1: the Simpsons movie. People are going to see it because
- 27:37Speaker 1: it's the Simpsons movie. It was going to financial succeed regardless,
- 27:40Speaker 1: because it's the Simpsons movie. And Russ Cargo never returned.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Y had Colin, that Irish boy at Lisa's love interest
- 27:46Speaker 1: who never returned. He wasn't part of the show. And
- 27:49Speaker 1: I've basically just said Hank's The meme basically says that
- 27:52Speaker 1: Hank Scorpio should have replaced Russ Cargill, and he had
- 27:54Speaker 1: a lot of people say no, I wouldn't have worked
- 27:56Speaker 1: that story, wouldn't because Hank loved and I was like, yes.
- 27:58Speaker 1: But the point is, first of all, establish a story
- 28:01Speaker 1: where it does fucking make sense. Haanks Scorpio, you're making
- 28:04Speaker 1: You're making this sh it up. I hate to tell
- 28:06Speaker 1: you so, Hanks Scorpio. I would love for him to
- 28:09Speaker 1: make a return. I think he may have returned in
- 28:11Speaker 1: the latest season episode briefly. I don't know, but he
- 28:14Speaker 1: does work as a one time character, say with like
- 28:17Speaker 1: Frank Grimes. I think he's more memorable because he didn't return.
- 28:22Speaker 1: But if you were going to have a one time
- 28:24Speaker 1: character return, who would you choose.
- 28:26Speaker 3: I thought about this a bit, and this is a
- 28:30Speaker 3: character who has actually reappeared in little bits and pieces,
- 28:34Speaker 3: but they've really got one main episode that they were
- 28:37Speaker 3: front and center in. I would like to bring back
- 28:39Speaker 3: Jessica Lovejoy, and I would like to reshape her as
- 28:44Speaker 3: kind of like a youthful Christian influencer slash grifter. Yeah,
- 28:49Speaker 3: sort of setting up a rival church, like a hip
- 28:51Speaker 3: young church.
- 28:51Speaker 1: So you've been aging her so the future.
- 28:55Speaker 3: Nah, No, No, it is like like a TikTok star
- 28:59Speaker 3: or something like that.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Because I ordered you because she's eight when she felt well,
- 29:01Speaker 1: that's true.
- 29:02Speaker 3: But I mean I recently watched this thing on Netflix
- 29:04Speaker 3: called Bad Influence, this documentary, this three part docer, fascinating stuff.
- 29:08Speaker 1: I saw the ap for it. Yeah about yeah this
- 29:12Speaker 1: machine kids out. Yeah yeah, it's like this this.
- 29:15Speaker 3: Mum who's like, oh, my daughter's very vivacious and she
- 29:17Speaker 3: likes to be on you know, toddlers and tiaras and
- 29:19Speaker 3: all that kind of stuff. Oh there's this new thing
- 29:21Speaker 3: called YouTube. Oh I can put her on that and
- 29:23Speaker 3: we can put up the videos online and blah blah blah.
- 29:26Speaker 3: It became this massive industry making something like five hundred
- 29:30Speaker 3: k a month of just this girl and then her
- 29:35Speaker 3: quote unquote friends, because you know, this woman would this
- 29:38Speaker 3: mother would find other parents who were like, oh, my
- 29:40Speaker 3: kid wants to be a star. TV or movies aren't
- 29:43Speaker 3: really doing it. They're not getting any roles there. How
- 29:46Speaker 3: about she becomes part of the squad and we do
- 29:49Speaker 3: like a little sort of ten squad. There's a fun
- 29:52Speaker 3: fun squad. It's called the Squad.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Because Aliott and that. We just watched his show called
- 29:56Speaker 1: Fun Squad and it's just his family and I watched it, going,
- 29:58Speaker 1: what is this? It's all it.
- 30:02Speaker 3: They're using this thing as a Particula's case study, but
- 30:04Speaker 3: it's all like that. And as these kids are growing up,
- 30:07Speaker 3: they're kind of like formulating this soap opera around them
- 30:10Speaker 3: where it's like, Okay, you've got to crush on so
- 30:12Speaker 3: and so or so and so is you a friend
- 30:13Speaker 3: of me?
- 30:14Speaker 1: And you know reality television it's like, really it's like.
- 30:18Speaker 3: Nine except creepier, but you know, and the YouTube videos
- 30:22Speaker 3: would have titles like first Kiss or something like that.
- 30:27Speaker 3: I was watching this getting more and more fucking creeped
- 30:30Speaker 3: out because and the thing of it is this woman's daughter,
- 30:34Speaker 3: I think I think her name is Piper Raquel or
- 30:36Speaker 3: Piper Rockel or something like that. She's now like sixteen
- 30:40Speaker 3: or seventeen. The mom doesn't want to get off this
- 30:42Speaker 3: graveytrainal and she's slowly sexualizing her daughter more and more.
- 30:46Speaker 3: And meanwhile she's also just completely toxic and alienating all
- 30:49Speaker 3: these other parents. It's so fucking weird.
- 30:53Speaker 1: But I saw the headline, I thought, am I going
- 30:56Speaker 1: to feel seen doing this? Because I do Nerdaddy with
- 30:58Speaker 1: Ali and that. But I'm like, no, no, because I'm
- 31:00Speaker 1: just unboxing toys and the kids are just in it
- 31:02Speaker 1: with me enjoying unboxing the toys. It's not me going allie,
- 31:05Speaker 1: it's the star, it's my show, and the kids just
- 31:07Speaker 1: join me occasionally.
- 31:08Speaker 3: No, this is one hundred percent manipulated and stage managed.
- 31:11Speaker 3: It's really worth checking out if your tastes run to
- 31:14Speaker 3: the kind of like, oh my god, the society is
- 31:15Speaker 3: just fucked what what?
- 31:17Speaker 1: But on services that on? It's on Netflix? Netflix. Oka. Yeah.
- 31:20Speaker 3: I think it would be interesting to sort of have say,
- 31:22Speaker 3: Jesse a love boy love Joy fall under the sway
- 31:24Speaker 3: of like.
- 31:25Speaker 1: A or she returns.
- 31:26Speaker 2: It just.
- 31:29Speaker 3: Just if you've taken this in a whole new direction,
- 31:34Speaker 3: that could be interesting. But yeah, making her like a
- 31:37Speaker 3: little YouTube star.
- 31:38Speaker 1: Where it's like, oh, look, Jesus, she's seen the light.
- 31:42Speaker 1: She's seen the light, and but it's really just a grift.
- 31:46Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 31:46Speaker 3: I think that could be kind of fun.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I just love Joy is one that I don't
- 31:50Speaker 1: know if she's returned in a speaking role, but that
- 31:52Speaker 1: would definitely be really interesting. Yeah they did. I would
- 31:56Speaker 1: have said lurline lumpkin, but it turns out they did
- 31:58Speaker 1: bring her back, and I thought it was actually a
- 31:59Speaker 1: nice follow what sequel to that episode? I'm just trying
- 32:02Speaker 1: to think of one more. Maybe mister Bergstrom, Oh yeah,
- 32:06Speaker 1: that's this is substitute. That could be fun. I've always
- 32:10Speaker 1: wanted Carl to return as well. We love Carl. Who
- 32:13Speaker 1: can't love Carl. He's just the greatest person in the world.
- 32:16Speaker 1: Everyone needs a Carl. Yeah, but he was struggling at
- 32:19Speaker 1: some point, because he's like a background Cariacter talking about
- 32:21Speaker 1: people who are like struggling. He's just sitting in here.
- 32:22Speaker 1: His looks disheveled and worn out, and I was like, oh,
- 32:25Speaker 1: Carl doesn't have a car. I should have had a Carl.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Carl is the greatest. Yeah all right, So this next
- 32:30Speaker 1: one here comes from Tyson Davies. If you could reintroduce
- 32:34Speaker 1: Hank Scorpio head for an episode, what story situation would
- 32:37Speaker 1: you guys have the episode be about. Okay, if we're
- 32:39Speaker 1: going to reintroduce him in an episode. So, SE's the
- 32:43Speaker 1: thing Hank Scorpio. We always see him as a super villain,
- 32:47Speaker 1: and he is a super villain, but he's not. He's
- 32:49Speaker 1: like an anti hero villain. It's really weird. It's just
- 32:54Speaker 1: he wants the best for Homer and everything he's fighting
- 32:58Speaker 1: against you can't agree with. Oh yeah, now here's the thing.
- 33:02Speaker 3: I think if you're going to reintroduce him, I think
- 33:04Speaker 3: you have to reframe him as kind of like a
- 33:07Speaker 3: Trump or an Elon or someone like the hands.
- 33:11Speaker 1: Won't want that.
- 33:12Speaker 3: No, no, no, I don't think if doing is like
- 33:14Speaker 3: the good version of those Like everything he's doing is terrible,
- 33:18Speaker 3: Like he's doing horrible schemes. He's got like but he's
- 33:20Speaker 3: trying to bring it's like you know, you know, you
- 33:22Speaker 3: know the term greenwashing. No, it's when you know a
- 33:26Speaker 3: company will be like it's like an oil company is like,
- 33:30Speaker 3: we're saving these seals.
- 33:31Speaker 1: It's like, yeah, but you're sucking up the entire planet. Yeah,
- 33:34Speaker 1: but we're doing saving Africa, yeah, or something, saving the rainforest.
- 33:39Speaker 1: We're giving these African people great jar I'm pretty sure slavery.
- 33:47Speaker 3: So his uh, overall scheme is just wrong and bad
- 33:52Speaker 3: for the planet or bad for society in general. But
- 33:54Speaker 3: he's trying to put a really positive spin on it.
- 33:56Speaker 3: And because he's Hank Scorpion, because he's out with Brooks
- 33:58Speaker 3: and so affable, and you're like, it's great, yeah, helping
- 34:01Speaker 3: out these people and all that kind of stuff.
- 34:03Speaker 1: I think Albert Brooks playing a right wing podcast would
- 34:08Speaker 1: thrive on The Simpsons. Like not Hank Scorpi, just a
- 34:13Speaker 1: just a Joe Rogan esque character voiced by Albert Books improvising.
- 34:18Speaker 3: Holy shit, Oh my god.
- 34:19Speaker 1: Yeah. I'm just also thinking, you know the episode Brother,
- 34:22Speaker 1: Can You Spare Two Dimes? Where Unkie Herb is down
- 34:24Speaker 1: on his luck and he comes to Simpsons for help. Right,
- 34:27Speaker 1: could Hank Scorpio found himself in Downtimes and Homer's the
- 34:31Speaker 1: way he comes to Homer for help because Homer's like,
- 34:32Speaker 1: well you helped me out. Now my turn to time
- 34:35Speaker 1: to return the favor.
- 34:37Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll have them as like business partners in the
- 34:39Speaker 3: like a like I just need a little venture capital
- 34:42Speaker 3: or whatever, and I got a quarter. Ye. So but yeah,
- 34:46Speaker 3: they started off as like business partners and it becomes
- 34:49Speaker 3: Facebook becomes.
- 34:50Speaker 1: Testantly big, and he does look after Homer, but he
- 34:53Speaker 1: still almost gets screwed over as well. Yeah.
- 34:55Speaker 3: But and also, yeah, Homer's on the ground floor some
- 35:00Speaker 3: business that goes absolutely bonkers but is terrible, is not
- 35:05Speaker 3: is not a net good.
- 35:07Speaker 1: And it's like I can provide for my family. I've
- 35:09Speaker 1: got everything I ever want.
- 35:11Speaker 3: It's like, yeah, but then Lisa pipes In pipes up
- 35:13Speaker 3: as the you know, the voice of Reason Angel and
- 35:16Speaker 3: Angel on his shoulder.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Yeah, voice of Reason, you're right and go But Dad,
- 35:19Speaker 1: you're killing the planet. Yeah, okay, I'll sell my share. Also,
- 35:23Speaker 1: I was thinking something similar because like the Lisas Slurry
- 35:26Speaker 1: episode with mister Burns where they met the company. But
- 35:29Speaker 1: it could be that they become really successful and money
- 35:32Speaker 1: is changing Homer, and maybe it could be a case
- 35:35Speaker 1: of this will actually be a good way to sort
- 35:36Speaker 1: of change the show slightly. Would explain that the family
- 35:39Speaker 1: don't get super rich, but they have a bit of
- 35:41Speaker 1: money where they're comfortable in that point. But the family go, Dad,
- 35:45Speaker 1: money is changes. It's making us bad. People were not.
- 35:47Speaker 1: We don't like this anymore. Let's go back to how
- 35:49Speaker 1: we were. But like Hank Scorpat ensures that they have
- 35:51Speaker 1: enough to sort of live comfortably. Because I think the
- 35:54Speaker 1: show by season thirty six could evolve slightly. Yeah.
- 35:58Speaker 3: Yeah, by the end, you'd say, oh, homework, guys, we're
- 36:00Speaker 3: going our separate ways. But you know, I know how
- 36:02Speaker 3: feelings And by the way, I paid.
- 36:03Speaker 1: Off your mortgage. Yeah, something like that.
- 36:05Speaker 3: Yeah, you now own you know, and in your house.
- 36:07Speaker 3: And oh and by the way, I slipped in a
- 36:09Speaker 3: couple of bucks so you never have to pay taxes again.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Yeah, or something like that. Make life a bit easier
- 36:13Speaker 1: for that bridge. Thanks. Yes, I think everyone would get.
- 36:19Speaker 3: Everyone going to enjoy that, but I think it relate
- 36:21Speaker 3: to it without hating the Simpsons. As a result, they
- 36:23Speaker 3: kind of go, hey, you know what, even if it
- 36:26Speaker 3: is like ill gotten gains, I think it'd be nice
- 36:28Speaker 3: to have.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Pay taxes because it would me we never have to
- 36:30Speaker 1: have Homer spending off the saving stories and that kind
- 36:32Speaker 1: of stuff anymore, because, as we said in our article
- 36:35Speaker 1: and with ABC, they don't represent them their average family
- 36:37Speaker 1: anyway anyway. So it's a cartoon now, So why do
- 36:40Speaker 1: they need to be middle class? They don't need to
- 36:42Speaker 1: be Yeah, so have them be funny.
- 36:44Speaker 3: There we go, We fix the Simpsons again.
- 36:46Speaker 1: There we go. That was just some brainstorming there, but
- 36:48Speaker 1: a good question from Tyson Davies Taylor Lane. Wass Now
- 36:50Speaker 1: you get hired to write the final episode of the show,
- 36:53Speaker 1: one gets asked a lot. It's I'd answer this one.
- 36:55Speaker 1: How do you wrap up forty plus years in a
- 36:56Speaker 1: neat little package? Well, the idea of algae throughout was
- 37:00Speaker 1: actually quite neat, and we've we've said it a neat
- 37:02Speaker 1: little package. Set a time and time again where he
- 37:04Speaker 1: said the last episode will end with the Simpsons on
- 37:07Speaker 1: their way to watch the kids do their Christmas pageant,
- 37:10Speaker 1: which is how the first episode starts. The show essentially
- 37:13Speaker 1: becomes a loop, a loop, which I think would be
- 37:16Speaker 1: almost the perfect ending for the Simpsons because they never age,
- 37:19Speaker 1: never really evolves, it's just the show just keeps going.
- 37:22Speaker 1: That's really good. They're the same age at the beginning
- 37:25Speaker 1: as they were at the end. So you can just
- 37:26Speaker 1: rewatch the show and nothing changes.
- 37:28Speaker 3: That's why it's why el Jane is ol Jine.
- 37:30Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, but how about you, I'm pretty sure would
- 37:35Speaker 1: you be subdued or extravagant with a finale for The Simpsons?
- 37:37Speaker 3: I don't think it'd be extravagant. Something I've enjoyed about
- 37:40Speaker 3: a lot of long running shows is that they'll have
- 37:43Speaker 3: their really big episode as like their penultimate episode, their
- 37:46Speaker 3: second last episode.
- 37:47Speaker 1: To say, the one beforehand is always is always.
- 37:51Speaker 3: When Game of Thrones was on, the second last episode
- 37:54Speaker 3: was always the battle, okay, and then the last episode
- 37:58Speaker 3: would be kind of like, well, we just had a
- 38:01Speaker 3: big battle. We're all a bit sort of shell shocked.
- 38:03Speaker 3: What happens next? How do we sort of rebuild and
- 38:05Speaker 3: how do we set the stage for the next season. Now,
- 38:07Speaker 3: of course, this is the final episode, final ever episode
- 38:09Speaker 3: of The Simpsons. You're right, we have heard this question before,
- 38:13Speaker 3: and I think we've tried to tackle it before. My
- 38:17Speaker 3: take on it has always been a it's an episode
- 38:21Speaker 3: length expansion slash dramatization of the opening credits. It's the
- 38:26Speaker 3: kids coming home from school, it's Marge doing the groceries,
- 38:29Speaker 3: and yeah, something happens at this it's just really every
- 38:32Speaker 3: day mundane stuff that happens happens in Springfield.
- 38:35Speaker 1: But it's funny. The finale is the intro, but as
- 38:38Speaker 1: the intro, and it ends up with like we're all home,
- 38:40Speaker 1: roll on the couch, you turn it on, you turn
- 38:42Speaker 1: on the TV, and what they watch.
- 38:44Speaker 3: Is like the very first episode.
- 38:46Speaker 1: That's pretty cool. Yeah, I actually do like that an
- 38:49Speaker 1: extended intro.
- 38:50Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's, yeah, Homer trying to get out of
- 38:52Speaker 3: work and it's like I've got a thing on my
- 38:54Speaker 3: shoulders though, but you sort of you you see every character,
- 38:59Speaker 3: every character sort of a last goodbye as well.
- 39:02Speaker 1: Yeah, because you drive past, you're.
- 39:04Speaker 3: Driving past them or whatever and they say a line
- 39:06Speaker 3: or they do something that they're best, don't.
- 39:08Speaker 1: I think it just worked it out. I think that's
- 39:09Speaker 1: how you do it. It's how you end it, right.
- 39:11Speaker 1: I think it is right. So it starts off the
- 39:14Speaker 1: and then it's just the intro, but you're just watching
- 39:17Speaker 1: it in a twenty two minutes.
- 39:18Speaker 3: Yeah, and yeah, you stretch it out, you come up here,
- 39:21Speaker 3: you come up with some good gags, but you also
- 39:24Speaker 3: it's got a slightly wistful, melancholic feel. To it because like, oh,
- 39:29Speaker 3: this is the last time we're sort of going through
- 39:31Speaker 3: the streets of Springfield.
- 39:32Speaker 1: Yeah, and you know it's the finale that you're watching it,
- 39:34Speaker 1: going oh, this is the last time I'm seeing mo. Yeah,
- 39:37Speaker 1: this is the last time I'm seeing Lenny. Is the
- 39:39Speaker 1: last time I'm seeing mister Burns. It would be emotional,
- 39:41Speaker 1: I think, so, man, So that's what that's what I
- 39:43Speaker 1: would do, all right, all right. We've got some questions
- 39:46Speaker 1: here because we reviewed some classic episodes in recent times,
- 39:49Speaker 1: including Lady Bouvier's Lover and Bars Dog Gets an f
- 39:52Speaker 1: Speaking of Bars, Dog Gets an f that's where the
- 39:53Speaker 1: assassins appear. So I think now'd be a good time
- 39:55Speaker 1: to play our chat with one Judy right, the creator
- 39:59Speaker 1: of the life Assassin Shoes. We're here with the lovely
- 40:07Speaker 1: lady Judy run from ASQ Customs as you guys will
- 40:10Speaker 1: be aware. How are you doing, Judy.
- 40:11Speaker 2: Doing pretty good? How about you guys?
- 40:13Speaker 1: Very well? Thank you? Yeah, we had you on what
- 40:14Speaker 1: we discussed you on last week's episode where we reviewed
- 40:16Speaker 1: Bot Doug gets an F in particularly because that's the
- 40:20Speaker 1: episode that has the assassins. Now, when it comes to assassins,
- 40:23Speaker 1: you're the lady because you have created screen screen replicas
- 40:27Speaker 1: of the Assassin's shoes. So I really want to delve
- 40:29Speaker 1: into what made you want to do this besides the
- 40:31Speaker 1: obvious raising you're a Simpsons fan. But how was the process?
- 40:33Speaker 1: How long did it take? This is let's talk all
- 40:35Speaker 1: about it.
- 40:36Speaker 2: So yeah, so first of all, thanks for having me.
- 40:39Speaker 2: I would say my entire life. So I just turned
- 40:42Speaker 2: forty one in March, so I would say about I
- 40:46Speaker 2: had to be about I'm trying to think that the
- 40:47Speaker 2: year that the episode came out, early nineties, I couldn't
- 40:50Speaker 2: have been more than like nine or ten. But as
- 40:53Speaker 2: a kid growing up in the nineties, sarcastic kid I was.
- 40:56Speaker 2: I loved Bart Simpson, loved Simpsons. I was also Jordan fan.
- 41:01Speaker 2: I grew up playing basketball, so I'm a sneaker fan.
- 41:04Speaker 2: So there was something about you know that episode and
- 41:08Speaker 2: being one of those kids that like didn't get I
- 41:09Speaker 2: didn't get my first pair of Jordan, so I was
- 41:11Speaker 2: about eighteen years old. So being one of those little
- 41:14Speaker 2: kids that really wanted those sneakers, like I identified with
- 41:17Speaker 2: Homer so much, so like when he when I saw
- 41:20Speaker 2: those sneakers, my eyes went up, I was like, those
- 41:22Speaker 2: are so cool. They had all the bells and whistles
- 41:24Speaker 2: on them. So I just remember being a little kid
- 41:26Speaker 2: like when I grew up, I'm going to get those
- 41:28Speaker 2: kind of sneakers. And then you have this scene where
- 41:30Speaker 2: Sanda's little helper destroys the sneakers, and.
- 41:34Speaker 1: You're just like, oh my god, like the worst things.
- 41:37Speaker 2: Like it's like it's like devastating. So as I got older,
- 41:41Speaker 2: you know, I be him a big sneaker collector. I
- 41:44Speaker 2: grew up on the East Coast. I grew up in Syracuse,
- 41:46Speaker 2: New York. I moved out here to the West Coast
- 41:49Speaker 2: and about twenty thirteen and got into custom sneakers. So
- 41:53Speaker 2: I started out very basic. I really had to teach
- 41:56Speaker 2: myself kind of I can kind of build myself up
- 41:59Speaker 2: from nothing when it comes to like the custom sneaker
- 42:02Speaker 2: uh in the art world, just out of curiosity. But
- 42:06Speaker 2: I always knew that one day I wanted to create them.
- 42:08Speaker 2: So around twenty nineteen, I like creating a custom that
- 42:12Speaker 2: was like the theme, but it wasn't the same. Like
- 42:15Speaker 2: if you go on my Instagram you can see it
- 42:16Speaker 2: pinned at the top twenty nineteen compared to now, you know,
- 42:19Speaker 2: I did art for about ten years, and then I
- 42:21Speaker 2: got into designing my own brand. So I really wanted
- 42:25Speaker 2: to like create something that was of my you know,
- 42:26Speaker 2: of my own and then use my creativity towards it.
- 42:30Speaker 2: So I started out, you know, just with the with
- 42:33Speaker 2: the sketch, just kind of trying to figure out what
- 42:35Speaker 2: I wanted to look like because I wanted to be
- 42:37Speaker 2: like my own brand. But then I wanted to have
- 42:39Speaker 2: the personality of the Assassin, you know. I wanted to
- 42:42Speaker 2: have like a little bit of the DNA from my
- 42:44Speaker 2: Air eighty four model and the Assassin. So yeah, so
- 42:47Speaker 2: just kind of waiting to find the right manufacturer who
- 42:51Speaker 2: could like make my make my vision come to life
- 42:55Speaker 2: and like make it screen accurate like I want. I
- 42:57Speaker 2: wanted to make it like as close to the real
- 42:59Speaker 2: thing as you could get without it actually being the
- 43:03Speaker 2: real thing. And I think that, you know, I think
- 43:06Speaker 2: that I did a really good job. I'm very proud
- 43:07Speaker 2: of them, and I'm excited to get them out to
- 43:10Speaker 2: people as well.

- 43:41Speaker 1: brought up before how you had themed ones. There is
- 43:43Speaker 1: a big difference between being themed and actually being screen accurate,
- 43:46Speaker 1: isn't there? And you can just tell, let's toll it.
- 43:48Speaker 1: You just grabbed one. Let's hold it up to the camera.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Look at that.
- 43:50Speaker 3: Look at that, mister Davis. I'm in awe honestly, even
- 43:54Speaker 3: the font oh not just the recreation, which is kind
- 43:59Speaker 3: of no PERFC, but even yeah, I.
- 44:03Speaker 1: Head around your name plate, you know, can those name
- 44:06Speaker 1: plates be are they interchangeable? Or you get one and you.
- 44:09Speaker 2: Get one so so they'll all come blank, so you
- 44:13Speaker 2: can put whatever you want on. I want everybody to
- 44:16Speaker 2: have their own, you know, personalized experience with them, because
- 44:20Speaker 2: I know that this these sneakers like this is history.
- 44:23Speaker 2: It means so much to us. It's like your childhood.
- 44:26Speaker 2: You see them and like you immediately flash back to
- 44:29Speaker 2: like being a little kid again. And I'm super proud
- 44:33Speaker 2: of these right here.
- 44:33Speaker 1: Do you have a dog?
- 44:34Speaker 2: Do I have a dog? I had a dog.
- 44:37Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, I had a dog as well, So I
- 44:39Speaker 1: know how you feel.
- 44:40Speaker 2: My best man, my best friend in the world, le
- 44:43Speaker 2: Bron Lebron James Jr. Junior. He passed away a couple
- 44:50Speaker 2: of days after Christmas twenty twenty three, just just like
- 44:53Speaker 2: a month shy of eleven. But that was my guy.
- 44:57Speaker 1: I'm not saying to be great marketing, but you need
- 44:59Speaker 1: to get a dog to chu prepare and then put
- 45:01Speaker 1: that over.
- 45:02Speaker 2: You know what's funny? Dog He never chewed my sneakers.
- 45:06Speaker 2: He would he pulled my he pulled my clothes out
- 45:08Speaker 2: of the room, he pulled my hats out of the room.
- 45:10Speaker 2: But he never messed with my sneakers. It was like
- 45:12Speaker 2: he knew they were sacred.
- 45:13Speaker 1: It's my dog.
- 45:15Speaker 2: There was a there was a code there.
- 45:17Speaker 3: What you need is a dog with a very weak
- 45:20Speaker 3: sort of butt.
- 45:21Speaker 1: Uh.
- 45:21Speaker 3: I don't know what's what's the butt pressure? So he'll
- 45:24Speaker 3: try and they're just indestructible.
- 45:30Speaker 2: I could burn one for marketing.
- 45:32Speaker 1: Yeah, do that?
- 45:34Speaker 2: When do you write that off?
- 45:35Speaker 1: When are you doing stuff like this because it's so accurate,
- 45:37Speaker 1: so screen accurate. Do you worry about copyard or anything
- 45:40Speaker 1: like that? Because I feel like, if you're disneyl folks,
- 45:43Speaker 1: you should be going these are great, let's make more
- 45:45Speaker 1: of them.
- 45:46Speaker 2: So me, personally, I don't. I'm such a small fish
- 45:49Speaker 2: and like for me, A big part of the reason
- 45:51Speaker 2: why I wanted to create my own brand was so
- 45:54Speaker 2: I had ownership of the model. I think I would
- 45:58Speaker 2: worry more about I don't want to name any I
- 46:00Speaker 2: don't want to see any brands, but there's certain certain
- 46:03Speaker 2: sneaker companies that will really go after you if you
- 46:06Speaker 2: reconstruct their designs. Okay, So that was a big reason
- 46:11Speaker 2: why when I decided I really wanted to go into
- 46:13Speaker 2: manufacturing sneakers, I wanted to create my own brand that
- 46:17Speaker 2: has his own, you know style as separate. Now, if
- 46:21Speaker 2: you know Fox comes after me, I'm hoping that we
- 46:24Speaker 2: can talk talk it out and figure something out, because
- 46:27Speaker 2: I mean, I know a lot of people would love
- 46:29Speaker 2: to have those sneakers on their feet. So I'll risk it.
- 46:32Speaker 2: We'll see what happens, but you know, I'm not sure
- 46:34Speaker 2: on birth their time.
- 46:35Speaker 1: One day you're getting knock on the door, but who
- 46:37Speaker 1: is it?
- 46:37Speaker 2: Goonses the smoking man with the trench code in the shadow.
- 46:46Speaker 1: Gudy.
- 46:46Speaker 3: You said your background's inn ot initially? Was it a
- 46:49Speaker 3: really steep learning cuve when you sort of I mean,
- 46:51Speaker 3: you've got this background and of course loving snake is
- 46:54Speaker 3: and and that kind of thing. But I mean when
- 46:57Speaker 3: it came to making your own designing run, was it
- 46:59Speaker 3: fairly steep learning.
- 47:00Speaker 2: So it's interesting because I was a really big artist
- 47:04Speaker 2: when I was a little kid. So I grew up
- 47:06Speaker 2: in I like was born in New York City. We
- 47:08Speaker 2: moved to upstate New York when I was about six,
- 47:11Speaker 2: and I was a really big I was really big
- 47:13Speaker 2: in a drawing. I was a huge like Ghostbusters fan,
- 47:15Speaker 2: huge Ninja Turtles fan, Hugh Simpsons fan. So I would
- 47:18Speaker 2: spent all of my free time just like drawing them
- 47:21Speaker 2: and like various scenes. That was like my thing. And
- 47:24Speaker 2: then as I got a little bit older, I started
- 47:27Speaker 2: playing basketball. So once I started playing basketball, I kind
- 47:29Speaker 2: of moved away from art and like stopped drawing completely
- 47:31Speaker 2: because it just like kind of sucked me in and
- 47:33Speaker 2: I got a scholarship to play basketball in college, and
- 47:36Speaker 2: I played overseas for a number of years, and then
- 47:40Speaker 2: when I came back, it was like, okay, I'm not
- 47:42Speaker 2: playing basketball anymore, so you know what am I doing?
- 47:45Speaker 2: It's you got to kind of find a new identity.
- 47:47Speaker 2: And I just I got lucky enough to like when
- 47:50Speaker 2: I moved out to the West Coast, I met a
- 47:52Speaker 2: friend that was into custom sneakers. He showed me a
- 47:55Speaker 2: couple of really basic things, and I just kind of
- 47:58Speaker 2: built up from just terrible, terrible block paintings of you know,
- 48:03Speaker 2: just filling in the blanks. It's just like coloring coloring
- 48:06Speaker 2: and coloring sheet, you know, filling in the panels, and
- 48:08Speaker 2: moved up kind of taught myself how to draw and
- 48:11Speaker 2: then started to really tap into like more creativity and
- 48:15Speaker 2: so it really is just born and just like wanting
- 48:17Speaker 2: to push myself. You know, I went from my coloring
- 48:19Speaker 2: on a coloring sheet to an iPad to sneakers too.
- 48:23Speaker 2: Now I'm actually creating my own brand, and it's it's
- 48:26Speaker 2: been a really interesting evolution. But it really is just
- 48:28Speaker 2: adhd Well, you know, I get bored and move on
- 48:35Speaker 2: to something else.
- 48:36Speaker 1: Is it a one woman team? Obviously must have other
- 48:38Speaker 1: people working with you said you mentioned the manufacturer before
- 48:40Speaker 1: you get to fund though one, so how many people
- 48:42Speaker 1: are working on getting the shoe onto people's face.
- 48:44Speaker 2: So I so I'm the artists, I'm the CEO, I'm
- 48:48Speaker 2: the CFO, I'm logistics, I'm social media. I's aw me
- 48:55Speaker 2: up one day. But you know, my wife will help
- 48:58Speaker 2: me out every once in a while with some stuff.
- 49:00Speaker 2: But other than that, it's really just it's really just me.
- 49:03Speaker 2: And it's mainly just me because I never really predicted
- 49:06Speaker 2: that I'd be here doing it, you know, in this way,
- 49:09Speaker 2: and it's just it's worked. With it being just me.
- 49:11Speaker 2: I feel like it's more personal and so until I
- 49:14Speaker 2: need to absolutely need to bring other people on, I
- 49:17Speaker 2: really do enjoy just like having that personal connection with
- 49:20Speaker 2: my art and then with my audience.
- 49:22Speaker 1: How many prototops did you go through before you set
- 49:24Speaker 1: it on what you're finally happy with.
- 49:26Speaker 2: It's funny because a lot of the ways that I
- 49:28Speaker 2: worked things out, even when I made themes, it's just
- 49:31Speaker 2: a lot of me sitting there trying things out, putting,
- 49:34Speaker 2: you know, putting looks together. This this needs to be
- 49:37Speaker 2: a little bit. Maybe this is the toe boxes to
- 49:39Speaker 2: boxy or something. I got to change that up. It's
- 49:42Speaker 2: really a lot of it is just kind of playing
- 49:45Speaker 2: around with space, like that's kind of how I create.
- 49:49Speaker 2: So for my for the very first silhouette I did,
- 49:51Speaker 2: this is actually the high Tops for my second so,
- 49:53Speaker 2: but my first silhouette I did the SQ one that
- 49:56Speaker 2: really just came out of boredom, Like I was like,
- 49:58Speaker 2: I'm gonna, you know, I I really want to try
- 50:00Speaker 2: to create my own sneaker. When I think of like
- 50:03Speaker 2: a running shoe, this is what I wanted to look like.
- 50:05Speaker 2: And I kind of over a couple of days, maybe
- 50:07Speaker 2: a week, I go a long time with like brainstorming
- 50:10Speaker 2: in my head and then I'll jump into it. And
- 50:13Speaker 2: usually it's quick once I get the brainstorming together. But
- 50:15Speaker 2: it's just about moving those pieces around, kind of seeing
- 50:19Speaker 2: what things look like where it's like those sliding puzzles
- 50:21Speaker 2: or Rubik's cube. Yeah, it's just kind of how my
- 50:24Speaker 2: brain works.
- 50:25Speaker 1: Are you like me? Where your best ud das come
- 50:27Speaker 1: to you just before you go to sleep and you
- 50:28Speaker 1: have to wake up again and rut them all down.
- 50:30Speaker 2: It's even better they come to me in the middle
- 50:32Speaker 2: of the night. Like I always say this at my wife,
- 50:35Speaker 2: Like I'll pop up out of bed at like three
- 50:37Speaker 2: thirty and so be like, what, you couldn't sleep last night?
- 50:40Speaker 2: And I was like, I just have this idea and
- 50:41Speaker 2: I had to like get it out of my head.
- 50:42Speaker 2: It's like sometimes if you don't do it right away,
- 50:45Speaker 2: like I'll be in a complete like brain block for
- 50:48Speaker 2: a week and then go to sleep and then just
- 50:51Speaker 2: some pops into your head and you're like, oh, I
- 50:53Speaker 2: I gotta do this right now. So I'm very much
- 50:55Speaker 2: like that. It's fun right when you don't get to
- 50:57Speaker 2: sleep because your brain is constantly active.
- 51:00Speaker 3: You mentioned some of your favorites growing up with like
- 51:01Speaker 3: Ghostbusters and teenage meant Ninja Turtles, and I've seen that
- 51:04Speaker 3: there's a You've got Turtle branded or Turtles sort of
- 51:06Speaker 3: inspied sneakers as well. What are some of the other
- 51:09Speaker 3: properties that kind of inspire you the all that you'd
- 51:11Speaker 3: like to sort of i'd not move into or develop
- 51:14Speaker 3: a bit more.
- 51:15Speaker 2: Well, I'm a big I'm a big horror fan, so
- 51:18Speaker 2: I've I've leaned a lot into a lot of the
- 51:21Speaker 2: animated properties. When when I've done design for my brand,
- 51:25Speaker 2: But I really want to start doing more horror designs
- 51:27Speaker 2: because if you look at my Instagram, Pagency I've done so,
- 51:30Speaker 2: I've done so many cool like the Shining I've done,
- 51:34Speaker 2: Saw I've done. You know, I love horror movies, so
- 51:38Speaker 2: I've done get Out. Uh So I really want to start,
- 51:41Speaker 2: like like with the stack pair that I did from
- 51:43Speaker 2: Sinners on the concept, I really want to start getting
- 51:47Speaker 2: more getting back into that. But then there's still a
- 51:49Speaker 2: lot of nineties things that I haven't touched yet. Like
- 51:51Speaker 2: I'm a big Sess fan, Like I'm want to do
- 51:53Speaker 2: a Spinelli design, you know, like things like that. Just
- 51:57Speaker 2: a lot of a lot of nineties culture like kind
- 52:01Speaker 2: of shape me even you see, like if you if
- 52:04Speaker 2: you look on my Instagram, I've done Seinfeld, like Signfeld
- 52:06Speaker 2: a big part of my life. I just like doing
- 52:08Speaker 2: things that like kind of molded me, you know, things
- 52:10Speaker 2: that I take inspiration from. And then also some original
- 52:14Speaker 2: designs that I really want to get into doing as well.
- 52:16Speaker 2: But you know, you kind of got to grow the
- 52:18Speaker 2: brand before you get to do the things you really
- 52:20Speaker 2: really want to do as well. You got to kind
- 52:22Speaker 2: of please the audience and find that balance.
- 52:24Speaker 1: So as a shoe fishingado, like you collect shoes. Do
- 52:28Speaker 1: you feel like these shoe collecting sphere has just expanded
- 52:31Speaker 1: and just grown so much in recent years. I never
- 52:33Speaker 1: really paid too much attention to it, but I just
- 52:35Speaker 1: I've got some friends who buy shoes and just put
- 52:37Speaker 1: them on the shelf, and they that's what they do,
- 52:39Speaker 1: and it's they pay top dollar for the shoes.
- 52:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it's so interesting to see how it's grown. I
- 52:46Speaker 2: have a rule that like, if I buy a sneaker,
- 52:48Speaker 2: I'm wearing it as soon as possible. Like, I don't
- 52:51Speaker 2: care if I paid if I pay two hundred dollars
- 52:53Speaker 2: for the Niggers that I paid five hundred dollars for
- 52:55Speaker 2: the sneakers. I buy sneakers because I want to wear
- 52:57Speaker 2: them for me. It's like, if I want to look
- 52:59Speaker 2: at sneakers, I'll get a painting of them, putting them on,
- 53:01Speaker 2: put it on the wall and just like enjoy it.
- 53:03Speaker 2: But my my love of sneakers kind of grew from
- 53:06Speaker 2: wanting to wear them. But it's really interesting to see
- 53:10Speaker 2: materialism kind of you know, sneakers are our materialism. But
- 53:13Speaker 2: like when fandoms kind of get to like that bubble
- 53:16Speaker 2: bursting and everyone's wearing them, it doesn't.
- 53:19Speaker 1: It just kind of takes it's amore.
- 53:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just not as sweet anymore to me. So
- 53:25Speaker 2: that's a big reason why I created my own brand
- 53:26Speaker 2: and started doing customs as well, because I wanted something
- 53:28Speaker 2: that was like unique. When I was growing up, everybody
- 53:31Speaker 2: didn't wear Jordans, like now everybody wears Jordans.
- 53:35Speaker 3: How important was it for you when putting these assassins
- 53:38Speaker 3: together that actually felt good on your feet as well as.
- 53:41Speaker 1: It looked great.
- 53:43Speaker 2: Well, yeah, obviously you don't. You never want to. You
- 53:46Speaker 2: never want to be walking around sneaker that hurts your feet.
- 53:48Speaker 2: For me, unfortunately, almost every sneaker hurts my fee because
- 53:51Speaker 2: I have the flattest feet on Earth. It's just like
- 53:54Speaker 2: wearing flippers, so like, no matter what, they always hurt
- 53:57Speaker 2: my feet. But one thing about these that that I
- 54:00Speaker 2: that I realized is I wanted to walk around in
- 54:02Speaker 2: them before I before I made them, you know, available
- 54:06Speaker 2: to people, like with my first model. From wearing them
- 54:08Speaker 2: for the first time, it was obvious to me that like,
- 54:11Speaker 2: this is not just rubber on you know, rubber on leather.
- 54:14Speaker 2: You know, there's actual material, there's great foam cushion there.
- 54:19Speaker 2: When you're walking in them, they don't, you know, your
- 54:20Speaker 2: toes don't hurt. And for me that's important because it's
- 54:23Speaker 2: hard for me to walk around and sneakers the other days.
- 54:25Speaker 2: They have to be comfortable. So I really like how
- 54:27Speaker 2: they feel, and I love and I'm a person I
- 54:30Speaker 2: like to really wear my sneakers out, so I love
- 54:33Speaker 2: how they feel more and more as we wear them.
- 54:35Speaker 2: You know, they feel like they hug your feet, you
- 54:38Speaker 2: know what I mean?
- 54:39Speaker 1: Have you have you pre sold all of the one
- 54:40Speaker 1: hundred and twenty five dollars ones?
- 54:42Speaker 2: So this is this is how this worked with one
- 54:44Speaker 2: hundred and twenty five dollars one. I wanted to do
- 54:46Speaker 2: something really really special with just like the first group
- 54:50Speaker 2: of people to kind of like gravitate towards the design.
- 54:53Speaker 2: This Assassin's design has been like by far, my most
- 54:56Speaker 2: popular design so far. So I made kind of like
- 54:59Speaker 2: a members only club, members only website, and I gave
- 55:02Speaker 2: those those folks. It was about I think about about
- 55:05Speaker 2: one hundred and forty people in my broadcast channel. I
- 55:07Speaker 2: gave them access at a couple of different times to
- 55:10Speaker 2: buy them for like the original TV show retail price
- 55:13Speaker 2: of one twenty five, which at the you know, at
- 55:16Speaker 2: the time it was it sounded good. I you know,
- 55:19Speaker 2: it was the margins. It was tough to go with
- 55:22Speaker 2: the margins. But I'm glad that I'm glad that I
- 55:25Speaker 2: was able to do that for those people because they
- 55:26Speaker 2: they really supported me through the process. And as I
- 55:29Speaker 2: go on like that that broadcast channel, every every single
- 55:33Speaker 2: drop I do, I'll make it like members only. They'll
- 55:36Speaker 2: be a member's only price. There'll be members you know,
- 55:38Speaker 2: they'll get access first, and I really just want to
- 55:40Speaker 2: kind of grow a grassroots kind of community.
- 55:43Speaker 1: It'll wake on Turkey because now people go, oh, okay,
- 55:45Speaker 1: well if I jump on board early, I'll get the
- 55:47Speaker 1: discount price.
- 55:48Speaker 2: And I think it's fun. You know, you get to
- 55:49Speaker 2: see things first, Like all of my concepts and stuff
- 55:52Speaker 2: I sent, I sent to my broadcast channel first so
- 55:55Speaker 2: they get to see them, you know, just just the
- 55:58Speaker 2: way to show appreciation for people showing support for me
- 56:00Speaker 2: because I'm just some random person that they don't know,
- 56:03Speaker 2: so like, it always means a lot to me that
- 56:05Speaker 2: people take the time to show support to my work.
- 56:07Speaker 1: Is it a limited run, is it just a one
- 56:09Speaker 1: time deal, or do you think you're gonna do a
- 56:11Speaker 1: second one.
- 56:11Speaker 2: No, no, no, I won't be a one time deal.
- 56:14Speaker 2: The first wave has already went out to production. I
- 56:17Speaker 2: left the free order open because I, you know, if
- 56:19Speaker 2: more people order before the next couple we saw added
- 56:22Speaker 2: to this one, and hopefully we'll be able to get
- 56:23Speaker 2: them out the same time. But I feel like once
- 56:25Speaker 2: that first wave comes in, and I think it was
- 56:27Speaker 2: about thirty five total, once that first wave comes in
- 56:31Speaker 2: and people get to see them on feet, people start
- 56:33Speaker 2: wearing them to conventions, you know, hopefully fingers crossed, that
- 56:37Speaker 2: people will come, you know, come in check about them.
- 56:40Speaker 2: So that's what I'm hoping. You know, if everything works
- 56:42Speaker 2: out like I planned, you.
- 56:43Speaker 1: To send a pan to Harry Sira, the actually Flanders,
- 56:46Speaker 1: I really, really really I.
- 56:48Speaker 2: Really want to do that. Hopefully. I hopefully I can
- 56:51Speaker 2: try to send a couple of pairs of a couple
- 56:53Speaker 2: of different past members. I think that'd be pretty cool.
- 56:55Speaker 1: We'll make it happen. We'll make it happen.
- 56:57Speaker 2: And being that I you know, being that I live
- 56:58Speaker 2: in Oregon, you know, spray Field, Like, if there's a
- 57:02Speaker 2: big connection to the Simpsons and Oregon, you.
- 57:05Speaker 1: Need to get Bill Oakley, He'll do it for sure. Bill,
- 57:07Speaker 1: like one of the visual showrunners writers of the show.
- 57:10Speaker 1: He writes Steven Hams, he's your man. But when it
- 57:12Speaker 1: comes to the online Simpsons community, Bill oakleyzy man, So
- 57:15Speaker 1: get a pair of him. You're in the you're in
- 57:17Speaker 1: the money, all right.
- 57:18Speaker 2: Well if you, if you have communication with him, get
- 57:21Speaker 2: a size for me and I'll take care.
- 57:23Speaker 3: Also the Phil Knight. You know, you're probably just down
- 57:26Speaker 3: the road from Nikes.
- 57:28Speaker 2: Yeah, then I'll have someone picking my door in.
- 57:30Speaker 1: Yeah, that's where the Hyde Gooons come. Yeah, you can't.
- 57:33Speaker 2: You can't have competition, like right in the backyard. I
- 57:35Speaker 2: can't let them know about me.
- 57:36Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, before we let you go, let's talk about it.
- 57:40Speaker 1: Just your love of the Simpsons. So you know, when
- 57:42Speaker 1: did you first What are your earliest memories of the show.
- 57:44Speaker 1: Do you still watch any of the new episodes at all?
- 57:46Speaker 1: A lot of people don't, but you know, do you?
- 57:47Speaker 1: And what's your connection with the Simpsons?
- 57:49Speaker 2: So I so I definitely don't watch the newer episodes.
- 57:52Speaker 2: I'm more of a like I probably like the first
- 57:56Speaker 2: like ten seasons or so up until a round. I
- 57:59Speaker 2: don't have would SA up until around when the movie
- 58:01Speaker 2: came out was when I kind of like fell away
- 58:03Speaker 2: from it. But my dad was also really into The
- 58:05Speaker 2: Simpsons and he used to watch it. But that's kind
- 58:07Speaker 2: of how I found out about it. And I just
- 58:10Speaker 2: I was really drawn to Bart because I was one
- 58:13Speaker 2: of those kids that like couldn't sit still, procrastinated on
- 58:16Speaker 2: my homework and you know, got grounded a lot. So
- 58:20Speaker 2: for me, it was just like a big coming of
- 58:22Speaker 2: age kind of thing for me. The family aspect was cool,
- 58:26Speaker 2: but for me, it really was just the characters. And
- 58:28Speaker 2: I would say, it's funny because you know, you have
- 58:30Speaker 2: Bart's dogs, and that we have Bart gets an f
- 58:33Speaker 2: you have that episode where he's like snowed in. He's
- 58:36Speaker 2: praying to Guy that they delayed the test and he
- 58:39Speaker 2: gets snowed in, and it's so funny because I grew
- 58:41Speaker 2: up in upstate New York where it snows all the time,
- 58:44Speaker 2: and I've been there's been so many days where like
- 58:46Speaker 2: the snow came. I was hiding my homework in my
- 58:48Speaker 2: desk and the snow came and I was like, Okay,
- 58:51Speaker 2: I got one more day. So just like it felt,
- 58:54Speaker 2: you know, that character to me felt really personal. So
- 58:57Speaker 2: I just kind of grew up, just like following his adventures.
- 59:00Speaker 1: I just love that because he's genuinely trying to focus
- 59:03Speaker 1: but he just can't. His brain just won't let him. Yeah, yep.
- 59:08Speaker 2: And it's funny because I, you know, I was definitely
- 59:10Speaker 2: that kid that, you know, if it had a dollar
- 59:11Speaker 2: for every time someone said Judy's really smart, but that
- 59:15Speaker 2: she would just apply herself, Like I heard that, so,
- 59:18Speaker 2: like I heard it so many times. So I was
- 59:20Speaker 2: like watching my you know, watching my real life. And
- 59:22Speaker 2: then I mean I always knew that I had the ADHD,
- 59:26Speaker 2: but like I didn't really manage it at all until
- 59:29Speaker 2: I was about I think I got diagnosed with fically
- 59:31Speaker 2: in about thirty seven. So it was just like it's
- 59:33Speaker 2: so funny to like go back and watch as an
- 59:35Speaker 2: adult and see those things that you kind of see
- 59:37Speaker 2: yourself as a child, be like, man, we just didn't
- 59:39Speaker 2: know yea.
- 59:41Speaker 1: And even those even those those who might not be
- 59:44Speaker 1: technically diagnosed with it, we watch it going.
- 59:46Speaker 2: Yeah we know, yeah, yeah yeah. So it's just amazing
- 59:51Speaker 2: to me that a cartoon could be so relatable to
- 59:54Speaker 2: like your everyday life, even for me like as a
- 59:56Speaker 2: little eight year old.
- 59:57Speaker 1: Yeah, and it wasn't just kids as well as the
- 59:59Speaker 1: adults and parents. Marge, Yeah, it was everybody.
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a secret.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: Source of the show. Yeah, yeah, absolutely, all right, Gudi,
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: So where can people go to pre order a pair
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: of assassins?

- 1:00:45Speaker 1: Well, thank you Gudy for joining us here. It's been great.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: I cannot wait to hold these assassins in my hands.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: They just look so great. I can't wait to put
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: them on the fo to get.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: Them to you, to get them to you.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: Well, thank you, I know the best.
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: That same to you guys.
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: Thanks, I have a good one.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: I can't wait to have a pair of those my hands.

- 1:01:14Speaker 1: get yourself a pair of assassins.
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: So the question that came through four Bart's Dog gets
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: an f we have here. It is what would your
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: patch on the family quilt be? What would your patch
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: be on the family quilt? What do you think you
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: bring to the family.
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: It would be like mine would be like a pen,
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: cigarette and a cup of black.
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: I think for me, I think the Simpsons have to
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: be on my court in some way. Right, there's just
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: I've earned a living from the Simpsons. Now, I was
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: the Simpsons guy in my friendship group. I think maybe
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: just like the it'll be the outline of their heads,
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: you know, like just like the spiky heads, just as
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: like a sound wave, not just the channel.
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: Well, and it's a propos because you know your podcasts
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: about this, so it's a sound way there we go.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: Yeah, why is that all our logo? Let's get some
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: merch happening. Actually, seriously, Yeah, let's do that. It's a
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: really good logo. Yeah. I don't think it's been used.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: We'll find out. We'll find out. Yeah, stay tuned. But
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: I think that's a really good idea for merch. I mean,
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: just it's not obtrusive, it's not copyrighted. Really, I don't
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: think it's copyright Yeah, own shapes. That question came from
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: Abigail B Sharp Crater. Thank you so much for that.
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: That that name Abigail, by the way, it's hilarious when
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: you first hear it.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: Less. That's good, Thank you, thank you for that question.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: That was good. But this one here, I'm gonna get
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: the name wrong. It's Darrek o'kathyan. I know there's a
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: correct way pronounce.
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: Game of Thrones before. I'm pretty this guy's from west Ross.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: But they say it's one of the weaker entries in
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: season two. Yeah, it's still a good episode overall. Season
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: two is unreasonably left out of the Golden Age, and
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: they don't know why because it's got its own vibe
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: and it's a good vibe. What do we think of
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: the second season overall, we haven't really gone back and
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: revisited enough of the episodes recently to really have an opinion.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: I remember it being there are some really good ones
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: in there. It was my first proper introduction to the
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: show season two, because that's what we're on the VHS
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: tapes that we could rent from Video Ezy and Blockbuster
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: and whatnot back in the nineties. So the season two
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: episodes were ones that we watched a lot because that's
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: what we're on the tapes that we hired. I do
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: think season two deserves to be in the Golden Era.
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: I mean season one does as well. I know it
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: looks different, but to say season three through nine is
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: the Golden Era, I've never really agreed with that. I've
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: always said one through ten. I think ten deserves to
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: be in there as well. People say it doesn't. I
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: say it does. I don't know what about you. People
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: say that, maybe because it's the older look to it
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: and whatnot. But I think there's some really really solid
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: episodes in there in season two.
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: I'm looking at the lineup of season two episodes and look,
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: there was someone here that I would just say knocking
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: out Season two see what has he Got but the
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: Dead Devil, blood.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: Feud, three men in a comic book, The War of
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: the Simpsons, least the substitute with mister Bergs Brush of Greatness.
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: Yeah, one that I'm going to mention.
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: Old money. Yeah.
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: So Season two in Golden Age, Yeah, all.
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: These episodes are great, Like, every single one of them
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: are great. Sorry, nothing but bangers, Yeah, nothing but bangers,
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: every dead putting, Society, dancing Homer, two cars in every Garage,
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: Simpson and Delight, unbelievable, Buck gets off every I feel
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: like every episode is good in that season, every episode.
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: So yeah, Season two definitely deserves to be considered the
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: Golden Year, but people just don't seem to. I said,
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: some people don't rate this one because of the dog
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: is the episode particular Barzo gets a f They say,
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: some people don't rate this one because of the dog abuse,
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: And of course they did as a kid, because you
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: watch the Simpsons at face value when young and not
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: as not as a silly cartoonish allusions to clockwork Orange.
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: How did you fe all about? How do you feel
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: about this? And we discussed it in our review that
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: I think a lot of people don't watch this episode
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: because they don't like seeing the dog abuse and they
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: don't like seeing Emily Thorpe is a four bit I
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: think anyway that Winthrop Winthrop, Emily Winthrop played by Tracy
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: Ahmen in particular, is just such a dislikable, unlikable person
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: that I never really enjoyed this one, but I watched
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: it older reviewing it. Going unlikable but successful gets the
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: job done.
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: The job done certainly. Yeah, I mean, plus, you know,
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: every episode needs a heel, and not every heel necessarily
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: has to be the worst film. Like you know, sometimes
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: I know good people can do bad things for good reasons.
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: I mean, it's actually pretty complex and which which I
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: know sometimes you want from this kind of thing. But
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: as far as season two goes, no, it's just it's
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: knocking knocking it out of the park consistently and thoroughly.

- 1:06:27Speaker 1: Mike says, whatever happened to you, guys, Papalon Puppy. I
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: remember him going with the lovely Luise to collect it
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: being mentioned in the Tales of U Durama episode Ahead
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: and the Poles. Whatever happened to it?
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: Well, the pepy On Puppy is still around.
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: Of course. Raffi was that Rafi dog's name here.
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: With his big ass he is and his irascible attitude. No,
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: Raffi is very much a part of the household, very loved,
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: even if he is kind of a pain in the
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: arts at times, so right farts every once in a while,
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: and it's good to side wise who among us.
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: But no, he's.
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: Just sitting on laps and gnawing on things and all
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: that kind of stuff being a dog being a dog.
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: And there is a chance that another Papyon Puppy will
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: be added to the roster. So Raffi has someone to
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: play with.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: Yeah, that's why I said to Nicol, we're getting a cat.
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: You're got to get two because they need to play, right.
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: Oh they do, Yeah, I mean they're bored.
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: Yes, I mean I sometimes feel very guilty that I'm
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: a bad cat dad because Bassie is a is a
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: soul cat at my place, I.
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: Cat playing soul music. So cat.
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: But yeah, Raffia is still around. He's still full of
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: beans and yes, still as cute as several buttons.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: Mike says, adopted more greyhounds. We have ours and have
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: done lots of fostering to help rehabilitate them. They're great dogs,
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: really lazy and greatful apartments. Go get your own, Sanders Santos,
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: al Helper.
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: That's it, well done, My good for you.
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: Keith Nedam, how do you rate this episode with Draassic
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: part from Futurama so Jurassic Bark, Sorry, oh, we're talking
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: about the one with Seymour the dog, which has arguably
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: the most depressing ending in the history of tal Yeah,
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: Jurassic Bark is emotional terrorists, which they retconned. But at
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: the time remember watching this going I was angry. I
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: remember watching going I can't believe, Yes, you did this.
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: I can't believe it, but I was impressed they had
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: the balls to do it. But in saying that, I went,
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: I can't fucking believe you had me sitting for twenty
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: two minutes and then you pulled that rug out and
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: the dog was just missed him for his entire life
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: and then just died. I was like, what, what? Sometimes
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: you need those endings, though, it takes serious balls to
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: do those endings. But man, I was not happy when
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: I first watched it.
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: This may seem unrelated, but back in nineteen ninety five,
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: I went to the cinema and I saw a movie
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: called seven. You're Aware of Seven?
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: I am aware of seven? Yes, think you don't see
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: the head this is, but I'm watching it. I'm watching.
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: I'm watching a police procedural with a pretty nifty twist.
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: Seven deadly sins.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: Someone's killing according to the seven daily get him in
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: the end. I'll get him in the end.
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: And justice will be served.
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: What the fuck?
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: Incredibly talk about a rug pull ending incredibly bleak, but
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: also it's like, oh shit, fuck that's in jaens.
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: Oh that makes sense, but still, oh, I feel like
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: my soul is dead.
- 1:09:26Speaker 3: Jurassic Bark to a lesser degree sort of does that.
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: It's like you need an ending that sticks with you
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: like that. I mean, I think if you watch Jurassic
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: Bark Bark and it was like, oh, you know, the
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: dog got another owner or everything worked out happily, you'd
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: be kind of, oh, that's nice still talking about Jurassic
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: Bark to this day.
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: Because of that, and because it's so truthful, And that's
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: what I'm like with Marge be not proud. The kids
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: love watch an episode of Sinces where but shop lifts
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: and at the end he gets the photo for March
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: and every time I watch it, I just almost tear up.
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: It's like they do it for her ending. Watch it going,
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: I can't have a tear up watching this. And Jussic
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: Bark could have been that instead, it's the one that
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: you just you never talk about, you can now because
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: you know it ends up Okay, watching it now, I'm like, oh,
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: that's incredibly sad, but I know that Fry ends up
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: finding it brings about the life blah blah blah bahah
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: loves a good life. Pat Wright. Has have there been
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: any discussions about you guys getting another dog, or we
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: discussed the wind that we're going a cat now. I
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: don't think we're gonna be getting a dog for at
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: least couple of years. I just I'm enjoying not having
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: I'm enjoying having the freedom I've been able to go
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: out see where a cat. You can leave a cat
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: at home, and it's just like they're just gonna be inside.
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: A dog. A dog you've just got to always make
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: sure it's going to be okay. You can't leave it
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: outside here because it's going to choose shit. And just
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: I don't want the I love dogs, but I'm just
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: not emotionally ready to have another dog yet. From Angela
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: stock Stockovich. Do you remember this episode being edited for TV?
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: She watched it recently and never remembered seeing the Santas
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: little helper face as Bart choked used to choke chain
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: Or I've always seen that. I've always remembered that, and
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: it always stuck with me. Yeah, going oh shit, Well
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: maybe that's like the head in the box from seven. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: I don't distraught by her brain just eliminated from her mind.
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: Well that's true.
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: I mean, the brain's a tricky organ and you can
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: do things like that. I've heard a lot of talk
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: about Oh yeah, it hasn't been ed, hasn't been edited
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: to the best of mine.
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: Well, I I remember the dog's the dog's faces. Yeah,
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: so not good chat McFadden. My dog passed nearly three
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: years ago. Now, whenever I watch an episode with Sander's
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: little helper, I think of her. Came home one night
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: at three and drunk off my ass with a bag
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: of chips, laid down in a big bean bag with
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: her and we shared the bag one for me, one
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: for U. Style never gets easy. But memories like that,
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: remember so fondly. Yeah, that's true. That's nice, Joe. Yes,
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: thanks for the for the story.
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: That's a good memory to have.
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: But yes, that is our questions here from bass Dog
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: gets an f And as I mentioned, we all also
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: did Lady Bouvier's Lover recently. We got some questions from
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: that one as well, starting with rach Beasley. So she
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: got the quote here you know you buy me of
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: a poem I can't remember and a song that may
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: never have existed in a place I'm not sure I've
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: ever been to. One of her favorite quotes from The Simpsons, ever,
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: what is the sweetest thing that anyone has ever said
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: to both of you. You'll do yeah, if you have to,
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: if im just be quick.
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: You're done yet. No, not, we're getting started. Anytime anyone
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: tells me that they love me is very nice. And
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: yeah somewhere related, No, not related at all. There was
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: a French actor named Alane DeLong Big in the sixty
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: seventies eighties, probably the most beautiful man to we've ever lived,
- 1:12:30Speaker 3: incredibly handsome. When he died, I put a picture from
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: a movie that he was in up on Facebook. Is
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: like lazing on a on an outside lands by a pool,
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: smoking a cigarette. One of my best friends JP said
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: in the comments, He goes, oh, this reminds me of
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: you when we were kids at at your old house.
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: I've known JP for pretty.
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: Much all my life.
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: I said, John, that is probably the nicest thing that
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: anyone has ever said to me.
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: Come to strattun distract.
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: I'm being a bit PROCEIOU. That was a very nice
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: thing for JP to say. But anyone that you have
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: given your heart to says that they love you as well,
- 1:13:11Speaker 3: that's always pretty nice, isn't it.
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: Well. I think, as anyone who's creative, you live in
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: self doubt. Right, So I think every time Nichola gets
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: me out of a hole by saying no, no, no,
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: you were made to do this. Don't stop doing podcasts.
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: You do know I'll work you make this happen because
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: I know you can do it. Like it's the belief
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: that Nichola hasn't me. I think that's probably the sweetest thing.
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: It's not this is what she says. It's what she's doing.
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: It's keeping up myself belief that I can.
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: Do this, believing in you when you don't believe in yourself.
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: Yeah, Andrew JP, Aside from this episode, letdy b VI's level,
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: what's your favorite Grandpa storyline? He likes bart Hood from
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: season twenty seven, as it showed a genuine bond between
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: Grandpa and Bart. I think many people immediately go to
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: the Flying Hellfish.
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: Right I imagine they do. Yes, Yeah, because well, it
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: presents apes and and as sort of young, viral capable,
- 1:14:02Speaker 3: all that kind of stuff, but the polar opposite of
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: everything that he's depicted as in the show.
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it was the first time we got
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: that as well, and but seeing him through those eyes
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: for the first time. Plus you also get to do
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: your German accent at the end. That's right, fun boys,
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: fun boy grand bus stories. So Grandpa versus versus sexual
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: inadequies adequacy?
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: Is it?
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: Another fun one? That is good?
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: I enjoyed that very much.
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: Yea, I know the one you're gonna go with.
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: What do you think I'm going with?
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: Old money? Of course I'm going on.
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: Yeah, No, dignities on me makes me cry every time.
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: That's just that's a perfect way to close out an episode. Yeah,
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: I love it. And that whole story was.
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: She passes and he's heartbreaking the money and he uses
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: it for good. Oh.
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: Absolutely, no, It's just a wonderful, wonderful episode.
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: Yeah, they're the kind of episodes you're watching to go.
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: How can you not think this is the great shove
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: all time? Sure, when you get endings like that, you know, Yeah,
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: Rachel McLean, do you think they could have kept Grandpa
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: and Missus Bouvier together going forward? We covered that in
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: the review and the answer is a big no. The
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: answer is no.
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: It works for that EPP specifically, that storyline, specifically, that
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: dynamic specifically.
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it's too kidnapart because then margin Homer are technically
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: step brother's word and yeah, despite the current trend in
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: modern adult material, No, let's not have the step siblings
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: going at it. Here's your test. What's from David Mott?
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: What's your partner's favorite song? I thought about this.
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: There are too many in account in all honesty, because
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: Lou has got fantastic taste in music and very eclectic
- 1:15:25Speaker 3: taste in.
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: What song do you think of when you think of her?
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: What's the song? What's her song?
- 1:15:30Speaker 3: Well, the one that I was thinking of whether this
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: is one of lose favors or not, but it's one
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: that sort of reminds me of us. She played a
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: demand thought that I would like this. So it's a
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: song called the Waves by a band called Villagers. It's
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: kind of Celtic, sort of sad, but it's very sort
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: of slow and emotional. That's one that's sort of I
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: don't know if it's one of lose favors, because I mean,
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: Lou likes you know, we sort of bonded over Steely
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: Dan when we first met.
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know if she's into rolling.
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: I think when we walk down the idyill be to
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: let the bodies hit the floor, actually see a lot
- 1:16:09Speaker 3: of eighties stuff. I think they're a Canadian band called
- 1:16:13Speaker 3: Spoon that she likes a lot. I mean, yeah, it
- 1:16:16Speaker 3: would be really hard to sort of pick one particular song,
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: I think because it's it's like asking me, what's your
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: favorite movie? It changes, you know, depending on your mood
- 1:16:23Speaker 3: and depending on where you're aut in your stage of life.
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: Depends which Nicola you're talking about, because she's got two
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: favorite songs. One is Superstition or Superstitious Superstition Superstition by Sigy.
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: The other one is take Your Shirt Off by Tea Paints.
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: The Extremes.
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: Mike Salter, do you find it a shame that it
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: never really fleshed out Marge's parents as characters in the
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: Golden Era? I think we needed to hear more about
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: her father. I think so.
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: It does feel like a bit of a missed opportunity.
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: Her behavior towards Homer and her need to please and
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: that kind of thing. Does it stem from some sort
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: of daddy issues? We have the Fear of Flying episode
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: where she sees that he's a air hostess and she
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: gets traumatized by that's why she's afraid of flying. But
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: that's pretty much all we get really of her dad.
- 1:17:08Speaker 3: The thing of it is you've got the characters as themselves,
- 1:17:12Speaker 3: but you've also got what they represent in a bigger
- 1:17:14Speaker 3: story sense, and how we can sort of, Okay, we
- 1:17:16Speaker 3: want to do something about children being embarrassed by their parents,
- 1:17:20Speaker 3: or neglecting their parents, or aging out of you know,
- 1:17:24Speaker 3: what society deems relevant, all that kind of stuff. That's
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: why you've got Grandpa. And but also you've got Grandpa's
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: life within that as well. I mean, his whole history,
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: his old backstory's old relationship with the family as well.
- 1:17:35Speaker 3: But it's generally about, oh, we want to say something
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: about this, what's the best vehicle to do that? It's
- 1:17:41Speaker 3: usually Grandpa. I mean, did have Oh I used to
- 1:17:45Speaker 3: know what it was and then now I don't know
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: what it is at all. It'll happen to you. It
- 1:17:48Speaker 3: makes sense for Grandpa to say that. Yeah, so maybe
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: it would feel like kind of doubling up or having
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: or if you had Marge's parents become more central. You've
- 1:17:59Speaker 3: got a figure out not just who they are in
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: relation to the Simpsons family in the Springfield community, but
- 1:18:04Speaker 3: also yeah, what they represent the story sense, or how
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: you can use them in the story sense.
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: I think I think it would be nice. They may
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: have already done this in a later season episode, but
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: having Marge, because we never really find out how or
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: why he died. I don't believe, not off the top
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: of my head anyway. It's just always just assumed he's dead, right.
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: I think it'd be nice to see Marjor with the
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: bead dream secrets or something, some closure of her farewelling
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: her father and him telling her he loves her, that
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: kind of thing. We never really got that, that moment
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: with Marge and her dad, and I think that would
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: be really a really emotional story to tap into.
- 1:18:38Speaker 3: Sure.
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, his name's Clancy Clancy Bivier Clancy Well here
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: and everything that's Clancy Wickham. Okay, so this one here
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: is from Eric Luttringer. What's your favorite flavor of jam
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: slash jelly?
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: What do you reckon?
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: Jam? Jelly? Called jam jelly in America? But we've got
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: a jam. It's a strawberry jams. I don't like raspberry.
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: I'm just not aby fan, but strawberry. I love strawberry jelly.
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: It could be read jelly. I know jelly is jam.
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: I'm saying you're expanded the category. Okay, Alan Jelly.
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: Yea, look, I haven't had Jelly for a while. I
- 1:19:11Speaker 3: think I probably liked Orange when when I was having it. Yeah,
- 1:19:15Speaker 3: when it comes to Jam, because we're Danel and I,
- 1:19:18Speaker 3: I'm a big.
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: Fan of Raspberry.
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: Also like NBA Jam, I don't know. Oh, it's like,
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: what's that happening? Oh, I get speech, jem he's actually
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: wearing his Monstars tea.
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: No, NBA Jam is one of the most iconic sports
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: video games of all time. Okay, yeah, I'm aware. Ill
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: though you're referencing Space Jam. Well there's that too, But
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: I'm wearing your Monstar T shirt. You're still my bit.
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: But do you want to just do that? All I
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: don't know, but think about Jelly is so Alliott was
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: super hyped for Jelly, right, he loves He's like, I
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: think the idea of Jelly is like, oh my god,
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: it's going to be great. And then he ate and
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: he went, it's okay, it's not really much to it.
- 1:19:58Speaker 3: I know it's a it can be a flavor thing,
- 1:20:01Speaker 3: but mostly a texture thing. And yeah, it's kind of
- 1:20:03Speaker 3: a one trick pony in that regard.
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: It's just he's eaten it. I can tell you just
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: got so disappointed.
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: That would have been actually very funny to watch. But
- 1:20:12Speaker 3: I like Raspberry currently though, I am making my.
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: Way through a jar of wild cherry, okay, and that's
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: pretty nice, pretty nice indeed. Alrighty, Chris Clark says, Hello,
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: Dando and Guy. Hi. Have you ever have you, guys

- 1:20:30Speaker 1: like work and motivations have already been discussed, but I'd
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: love to hear a two part about the life and
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: times of Dandev and Guy you've I'm pretty sure we
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: discussed your career in the first episode, but I do
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: feel like we talk a lot about our lives. But

- 1:22:24Speaker 1: with Marltin and Davis Correct. We just recorded an episode
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: this very day. Yeah, Hot Tup Time Machine. It was
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: a lot of fun because we picked the film that
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: Guy loves and Leonard hadn't seen before, and Leonard did
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: not like it, and just watching Guy try to sell
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: this movie to the legend that is Leonard multi.
- 1:22:39Speaker 3: I think I succeeded I think I made a pretty
- 1:22:40Speaker 3: good case for Hot Top Time Machine.
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, Leonard. It's just it was fun hearing Leonard
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: be just even being negative about something. Up until this point,
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: it's all been positivity. You know, we love this film,
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: should check it out. Blah blah blah, and he just went, no,
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: this was Loyd that you caught. I'm not sitting on
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: the fence. I was impaled by it.
- 1:23:00Speaker 3: But an interesting discussion as well, not just about the
- 1:23:03Speaker 3: movie itself, but also you know, about the shifting tones
- 1:23:06Speaker 3: of comedy over the years, what works, what does, and
- 1:23:09Speaker 3: what audiences will respond to, what they.
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: Shun, all that kind of stuff. It was a good
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: chat with our pal Leonard Mung. Yeah, so you can
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: finally look at that in description of this show, as
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: well as all our other shows we do here. But
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: next week we're going to be returning to another season
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: twenty review. Then we can do another classic review later
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: in the month, which the patrons can vote on to
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: decide which episode we do, and then we'll give returning
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: again with another community podcast next month. So the final
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: podcast of each month will now be the community podcast,
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: answering your questions and talking about Simpsons related news. And
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: what not. Wow, alrighty, but for now, mister Davis, any
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: findal words for those incredible listeners out there, Just stay
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: tuned for more what not
