Suspense - "The Mystery of Marie Roget" (1953)

Suspense presents “The Mystery of Marie Roget,” originally broadcast on CBS on December 14, 1953. Episode 530 adapts Edgar Allan Poe’s early C. Auguste Dupin detective tale, with Cornel Wilde as Dupin and John Dehner as the Police Prefect.

In 19th-century Paris, the body of young Marie Roget is recovered from the Seine, leaving police to sift through conflicting accounts of her disappearance. Called in to help, the observant Dupin studies the evidence and testimony surrounding a troubling river murder. E. Jack Neuman dramatized Poe’s story for producer Elliott Lewis.
