- 0:01Hello, ladies and gentlemen, my name is Brett Keen from God TV
- 0:04radio tomorrow, I'm going to be doing a one-on-one discussion
- 0:08between mr. John Richards from free thoughts
- 0:12Productions, as well as Kent hovind, Free thoughts is an
- 0:17atheist. He's an older man who has
- 0:20participated in a lot of different fields of Science and
- 0:25he is also known as a teacher. Most people know, Kent hovind is
- 0:29a creation Best young Earth creationist and both men will
- 0:35have a very interesting discussion.
- 0:37It's not like standing for truth for standing for truth has time
- 0:41debates which are really good. I've been subscribed to him for
- 0:44some time. It's so sad to older gentleman
- 0:48sitting back and talking about the origins of life with no time
- 0:52limit. And basically whenever they're
- 0:55ready for the conversation to end, that will be the end of it.
- 0:59They could talk for sure. Six hours 3 hours, an hour, if
- 1:03they want, but I think that the discussion will be great.
- 1:08And also after that tto, our will be hosting a show on
- 1:13Thursday, I think that he's doing fantastic as a host and
- 1:18I'm looking forward to him doing more.
- 1:20If there's anyone out there that thinks that they can host long
- 1:24shows from two hours, three hours or even beyond that, let
- 1:29me know I'll be more than Happy to talk with you and perhaps we
- 1:35can work out people doing that because I love to have a
- 1:37consistent show throughout the week and there's that.
- 1:43All right? So the topic that I'm bringing
- 1:45up today is specifically for a free thoughts production but any
- 1:50atheist out there who wants to respond to this video.
- 1:53You're welcome to post your link or come on my show and talk to
- 1:58me or you can make a video response.
- 2:00Since this is a very serious topic of this is something that
- 2:04is very personal to me. Something that is meant a great
- 2:07deal for me for quite some time. Free thoughts.
- 2:13I know that you don't know me very well but I used to be a
- 2:16hardcore, social media atheist for 15 years.
- 2:22It was just recently in the last few years where I became a
- 2:26theist and then I made my way over to Christianity, but a lot
- 2:30of my Views or not, I would say not agreeable with the way some
- 2:36Christians, look at God, or the way they view God's nature.
- 2:41There are some Christians out there that are very disturbed by
- 2:45my position because I have a lot of views about God, that I
- 2:52believe are biblical, some of them are not some of the my
- 2:56adopt from other philosophies and and Views and then the god
- 3:01of the Bible tends to inherit a lot of the ideas that I have.
- 3:07I'll give you one example before I get into my question Mao
- 3:10theism. It's the belief that God may
- 3:14also have a deal nature. Not just nature of good, but
- 3:18also the ability to wreak havoc destruction, chaos, and even in
- 3:23some instances evil. Let me get me, a drink, my
- 3:28throat's, a little dry. It's probably from doing that
- 3:3412-hour show that by the way I hope you don't mind all my shows
- 3:39and up on the radio for everybody to be able to hear.
- 3:42And I've also got it set up to where people can actually if
- 3:47they have the right kind of equipment they can watch video
- 3:50and radio at the same time on Spotify and many other
- 3:54international radio spots. So you're on the radio there,
- 3:58sir. So is a lot of atheists you,
- 4:00come on my show. All right, the question is, as
- 4:04you know, whenever you came to visit my room, you grab the clip
- 4:08towards the end of our conversation, which I thought
- 4:10was very good and beneficial for anybody listening.
- 4:15I asked you, if you were aware that atheist had the highest
- 4:18suicide rate as well as substance abuse.
- 4:21I personally believe that drugs and alcohol have depressants in
- 4:25them so they can lead to suicide and depression, or is someone is
- 4:29already depressed? It can cause Even more severe
- 4:33problems with what they already have.
- 4:36The reason why I bring up suicide rate whenever I'm
- 4:39talking in a lot of different conversations but non-believers
- 4:43is because I've had a lot of friends over the years that have
- 4:46been non-believers and atheist and many of them, unfortunately
- 4:52I have discovered through social media.
- 4:55It makes me sick when I go to their Facebook or their Twitter
- 4:59are one of their accounts and a family member or friend leaves a
- 5:04comment or post stating that the person has ended their life.
- 5:09I cared about these people, I love these people and I
- 5:13discovered, whenever I was a non-believer, I felt like I was
- 5:17limited on the things that I could say, to them, to try to
- 5:22convince them that life had value to it.
- 5:25Used to be not just an atheist but I was going down a downward
- 5:31spiral into nihilism, which is what I believe atheism does lead
- 5:36to for an atheist. Eventually.
- 5:38If they go down the rabbit hole I believe that if a person
- 5:43thinks that they're nothing more than an evolved slug are worm
- 5:47like creature. And if they believe that their
- 5:51existence came here, VI nothing or just Has of some random crazy
- 5:58ass energy surge that created the universe and that there's no
- 6:02plan for them. There's nothing protecting the
- 6:05universe or that loves them. Then an atheist will find
- 6:09themselves very quickly and a world where they're questioning
- 6:13is love. Even real?
- 6:15Do they even have a soul? Is there something higher?
- 6:19Is this all there is? Because let's face it, although
- 6:23atheist and religious people had Homes, have those joyful moments
- 6:28that delicious cookie, that great cup of coffee that orgasm
- 6:34whenever they're making love to someone, they really care about
- 6:37when it comes down to it. The life of an atheist can be
- 6:40quite lonely and as you know, Richard Dawkins, I believe was
- 6:45the one that said, you can't herd cats and he represented
- 6:48atheist as like that of the cat. I believe that was him.
- 6:53That said that. I believe that if you teach
- 6:59atheism, the people or they get inspired or influenced to become
- 7:03an unbeliever, that it takes a lot of, a lot of tools and a lot
- 7:08of things that make us up as a human being away from them.
- 7:13They don't have something to pray to whenever they're having
- 7:16their darkest time because they don't believe there's a God or
- 7:19higher power to talk to. I myself, I suffer from severe,
- 7:23bipolar manic depression and I felt like I was very Alone.
- 7:28I had my wife and my kids, of course, but I didn't.
- 7:32At the time I felt like I was an independent critical thinker and
- 7:37I didn't want to put all my pains and lows and war that was
- 7:43going on in my head down on my wife.
- 7:47She's a very happy optimistic person and I just didn't want to
- 7:52I knew there was something wrong on my end with the depression
- 7:56and not her fault. And I just didn't want to drag
- 7:59her down with my negativity if that makes sense.
- 8:03So, I kind of kept it all in, I kept it to myself and I think a
- 8:07lot of non-believers do that where they don't want to be a
- 8:10burden to some people. And because the world is mostly
- 8:16people of faith, and it could be quite hard for a non-believer to
- 8:20go to their friends, or their family, who are religious
- 8:23because obviously the first thing, a person who is spiritual
- 8:27or religious is going to believe that God will cure and fix every
- 8:32problem, right. You know this And a lot of
- 8:37non-believers are not wanting to hear all that, they're wanting
- 8:41to hear something else. The problem is, is I don't know
- 8:44what that something else. Is that can be said to a person
- 8:48who is suicidal or depressed. I myself was not able to find
- 8:53any kind of naturalistic solution to the problem of
- 8:57feeling loneliness or feeling as though I was in darkness as an
- 9:01atheist. I am.
- 9:04I tried to tell myself that I only have one life to live.
- 9:08I used to tell myself that life is a rollercoaster ride that has
- 9:11its ups and downs. Instead of killing myself, maybe
- 9:15I should just write it to The Bitter End and no matter what
- 9:19happens. Just go with it and put
- 9:22subjective value into what I do have like, I knew that I didn't
- 9:28have whenever I was an atheist. I was absolutely under the
- 9:32acknowledgement At everything around me was subjective.
- 9:39That it was only my opinion that validated meaning or purpose for
- 9:44anybody that I love or care about.
- 9:48I know that how I feel about my children, how I feel about my
- 9:51wife is going to be completely subjective out depending on
- 9:56those who are around my kids and wife.
- 9:59Obviously, other people are not going to see the same value.
- 10:02In fact, my own family apparently does not have the
- 10:06same code of honor or respect for that nuclear family or that
- 10:11family structure that a lot of people strive for my kids do not
- 10:15have grandparents, they don't have great.
- 10:17Parents. We have a couple people alive in
- 10:20our family, so the support was definitely not there as a
- 10:25non-believer. I truly believe that having God
- 10:31in your life or at least the belief that God is listening and
- 10:35they're can help a person. It makes you feel as though
- 10:39you're not an accident, you're not, some kind of, just a bunch
- 10:43of random chemistry that combined itself, and then Then
- 10:47here you are. I believe that the idea of God
- 10:53actually makes you believe that your entire life is based upon
- 10:57love, and that there is goals for you to be able to accomplish
- 11:04as we're atheism. You kind of just you just walk
- 11:07through your life and, you know, you just see it as I gotta
- 11:11survive and I guess I'll do this, and I'll do that.
- 11:15But at the end of the day, there's even the death problem.
- 11:18There's the the concern that. Okay.
- 11:22So I'm going to die and then white everything that I love
- 11:25everything that I care about is gone.
- 11:28I don't fear death for myself, if that makes sense.
- 11:33But I do I hate going to funerals.
- 11:38I hate seeing my family members dead and a box.
- 11:42I hate seeing my friends who might a grown up with be dead
- 11:48and then they have to convince myself that that's it that I'll
- 11:51never see them again. I don't care if I die.
- 11:57And in fact, I told you and this entire day of the video that
- 12:01I've had bipolar manic depression.
- 12:03So there's been many times where I could easily see suicide is a
- 12:08way out. But with the belief in God, that
- 12:12gives me one big extra reason on why I shouldn't, why I should
- 12:17see that. There's something special about
- 12:19life in this world, because if I didn't have that special thing
- 12:24and I wasn't able to see wife are in a higher level like this
- 12:28or transcending, in some way, if I were to, just look at the
- 12:33World Through The Eyes of an atheist, which I've done for 15
- 12:37years. This world is absolute shit.
- 12:41It's garbage. I see people getting unfair
- 12:44treatment. I see non-believers and
- 12:47religious people who get fucked over on a daily basis and that's
- 12:52hard to swallow. And it's not much, it's to be
- 12:57honest with you, it's not much better even when you do throw
- 13:00God into the mix because then of course at the end of the day,
- 13:04you're asking, why did God allow this for?
- 13:07Why did God allow a good? Christian family to lose her
- 13:11child to Luke leukemia. Why did a good kind atheist end
- 13:17up losing their mother or their father or someone that they love
- 13:22over? Some unnecessary accident that
- 13:25Needed to happen. Such as some kid fucking around
- 13:29on a telephone or a wireless while driving down the road and
- 13:33ends up running into your loved ones and taking them all out.
- 13:38I have tons of questions just because I've become someone of
- 13:42Faith doesn't mean that. I stopped thinking about the
- 13:46reality of the world as atheists, like to put it.
- 13:50It's something I struggle with daily, but the belief in God
- 13:54does help I guess whenever all comes down to it the question I
- 14:00have is being that I'm like I am and I have I do believe even
- 14:06though I believe in God that I'm also a person with critical
- 14:09thought and questioning is how do I help out others?
- 14:13If I don't have the tools to use such as God and that there's
- 14:18something greater going on in this universe.
- 14:21If I can't tell someone, that tomorrow will be a better day.
- 14:25That's a faith-based response. If I can't tell people that
- 14:30they're loved, And that the Universe does care for them and
- 14:35that there's a plan. What can I tell a non-believer?
- 14:40That life I can't say life is going to get better because I
- 14:43don't know if it's going to get better as an atheist.
- 14:48I can't tell them that that everything will work itself out.
- 14:52Things will get better. These are all faith-based
- 14:55assertions. This is not something that a
- 14:58critical person of thought would say, especially if there is
- 15:04nothing predetermined or set up to begin with, So what would you
- 15:09do? John the reason why I'm asking
- 15:12you this specifically and I'm sharing all this is because you
- 15:16are a man who said that you work for a group that is for
- 15:19recovering. Believers people who are going
- 15:23over to atheism and they're having a difficult time with
- 15:26their transition. What do you say to a person who
- 15:31is struggling in their life? Does it make sense to tell them?
- 15:36Everything's going to work itself out.
- 15:38Things will be fine. They're loved.
- 15:43Because if you don't have God and religion, then there's no
- 15:45obligation for an atheist to just simply love, everybody or
- 15:50care about everybody. Unless you have been raised up
- 15:55in some kind of religion to teach you that we're all Cosmic,
- 15:59family members that we should love each other.
- 16:06I understand that through Evolution.
- 16:09A lot of people believe they're related to damn near everything
- 16:13from strawberries to sponges through Evolution.
- 16:18But using Evolution as a way to try to pull somebody out of
- 16:22severe depression, doesn't seem very useful.
- 16:27It doesn't seem helpful saying oh we all evolved from the Slime
- 16:32together and you know, we're just Cosmic Stardust kids just
- 16:36trying to do our thing. Where's the value in it?
- 16:41What's the benefit? What's the advantage?
- 16:43What is the anything with that? At the end of the day?
- 16:49If you don't have the tools, according to Evolution, if you
- 16:52don't have the utilities that you require according to
- 16:55non-believers, then you simply don't survive, you simply die
- 17:02and it's too bad and nature. Doesn't give a shit.
- 17:04Nature doesn't care if you suffer doesn't care, if you're
- 17:07in turmoil. And it's one of the reasons why
- 17:11it frightens me the idea of so many non-believers doing the
- 17:16shows and the videos that they do.
- 17:20Because I know for a fact that there are children out there
- 17:23that are sick and dying. I know there are adults out
- 17:25there that are on their last leg.
- 17:27They've got one foot in the grave and they're being told by
- 17:30other people that there's simply no reason whatsoever.
- 17:34That it's actually irrational and illogical to have any kind
- 17:38of Hope whatsoever. Does that make sense?
- 17:48I know for a fact that there was a young girl a while back, she
- 17:51was between 13 and 14 years old and she found out she had cancer
- 17:56and she was strumming through the YouTube channels watching
- 17:59videos especially of non-believers because she was
- 18:02trying to find the truth. She wanted to know what was
- 18:05going to happen whenever she died.
- 18:08What do you think? Brought her more happiness?
- 18:11What do you think was better for her and her family to believe
- 18:14that there's a transition? She will make that.
- 18:17She Be a part of another life something where she will never
- 18:21suffer or have pain anymore. That one day, she'll be with
- 18:25their mother and father or would it be better to tell her?
- 18:29I'm sorry. But you unfortunately got bad,
- 18:32mutations, your genetics weren't up to par.
- 18:37So now you die. And it's over.
- 18:42You'll never laugh again. What do you do?
- 18:47How do you handle things like that?
- 18:49How do any atheist handle things like that?
- 18:53I know a lot of you out there, you just trying to have fun and
- 18:56you just trying to live, what little life you believe you
- 18:59have. But when you have those moments
- 19:01where you sit down in the darkness and you staring at the
- 19:05Shadows on the wall, What comes to mind?
- 19:09What happens when you find yourself slipping down the
- 19:12rabbit hole? All right, I hope this doesn't
- 19:16offend you by me saying this but God bless and I'm going to pray
- 19:20for you as well. As all the non-believers out
- 19:23there, I would love to be able to hear your response.
- 19:27Do the best you can. I'll be listening.
