- 0:28Hey, everybody. Good morning from the chicken
- 0:30coop. So let's talk about our growth
- 0:33points. So this time of year often
- 0:36triggers people to begin the process of thinking, what do I
- 0:40want to change for next year? What do I want to do?
- 0:42You know, we all kind of run through those things and it's
- 0:47natural and normal. And yes, it's wonderful.
- 0:50And most people put it in terms of what are my goals going to
- 0:54be? You know, what do I want to
- 0:55focus on all of? That tactical stuff that is very
- 1:00common. I do it, everybody does it.
- 1:04I'm today going to ask you to think about it a little bit
- 1:07differently or at least a section of it a little bit
- 1:09differently, where you start to think about where do you want to
- 1:12grow. So the question comes from the
- 1:17fact that often times we things that we want to do, but not what
- 1:21we want to grow or where we want to grow.
- 1:24So a big thing for me. Is growing in my spirituality.
- 1:29That is something that is first and foremost.
- 1:34The older I get, the more that that I think comes naturally to
- 1:38most of us. At some point in our time in our
- 1:40life, we start to contemplate certain things.
- 1:43So for me, I, and I'm speaking just for myself right now, the
- 1:47spirituality piece of it is always been a decent.
- 1:51Factor in my life. But now it's becoming more and
- 1:53more and more, and I think the more work I do in this arena,
- 1:59the more I want to grow it. Because I recognize that there
- 2:02are things that we need to tap into as as humans and this is a
- 2:08big part of it and it helps us to be better people.
- 2:13When you start to recognize that you have weak areas of yourself
- 2:18and you want to grow them. It puts a different spin on it.
- 2:22Instead of saying I'm going to do this, it's like I really want
- 2:26to grow. And that makes you feel better
- 2:29about it. It makes you feel better about
- 2:31doing something as opposed to the growing.
- 2:35Now some people might say that's word salad, it's semantics, but
- 2:39it's not. There is a difference if I say I
- 2:41have to do something or I'm going to say hey.
- 2:45I really want to grow in this area.
- 2:47I want to learn something in this area.
- 2:49A lot of us have to take on tech issues, and tech issues are a
- 2:54big thing for people and they get very frustrated with it
- 2:57because they're often like, Oh my gosh, the tech drives me
- 3:00crazy. I can't do it.
- 3:02I don't like it. It's it's madding.
- 3:05It's difficult, whatever you might feel about it, but this
- 3:07isn't instead of looking at it like I have to do all this
- 3:10stuff, that's tech. If you start thinking of it in
- 3:12terms of do you want to grow in this area And sometimes.
- 3:15It's just a hard no. I don't want to grow in that
- 3:17area. I want to farm that out.
- 3:20That's totally fine. But you've made a distinction
- 3:23and sometimes it's great to just say no.
- 3:25I really do want to grow in this area.
- 3:27So I understand and then I can always farm it out then.
- 3:30But I still want to understand what I'm paying for.
- 3:32I want to understand what other people are thinking, doing,
- 3:35being and seeing. So if you.
- 3:38Put your perspective on just this growth aspect and ask
- 3:43yourself the question, what are the areas I want to grow in?
- 3:47What are the points I want to grow in?
- 3:51What are the places I need to grow in?
- 3:54You get the point. We're just changing it all
- 3:55along. It's all about growth.
- 3:58Obviously I love to use that whole metaphor because of the
- 4:01farm and what I'm growing, but I'm ordering seeds.
- 4:04I'm thinking about all the things I want to do that are
- 4:07different for next year, so that I have a better and different
- 4:13experience than I had this last year.
- 4:16An area of growth for me is understanding how to do things
- 4:20more efficiently because just because I know how to do
- 4:23something one way doesn't mean it's the most efficient way.
- 4:26And when it comes to the farm, efficiency really matters.
- 4:29So I'm spending a lot of time in this area of growth so that I
- 4:33can figure out how to be more efficient, especially like with
- 4:36watering irrigation. But that's no different than
- 4:39what you look at in your mind. I have to take on different
- 4:42information and understand. Different things.
- 4:45In order to grow in my mind and I have to do the same thing here
- 4:48on the farm, it's absolutely necessary for me to recognize if
- 4:52I keep planting seeds here that can't grow in the extreme heat,
- 4:55then I'm not going to get anything.
- 4:57I have to change my approach and that's what you're doing now
- 5:00with this. So think about what are the
- 5:02areas? That you really want to grow in
- 5:05for 2024. Make your list, start getting
- 5:09them on paper and then from that point, once you have the list,
- 5:13then you can start focusing on, OK, what would it look like if I
- 5:17was growing in that area? What would I be doing?
- 5:20Who would I be connecting with? You can start to put those
- 5:23threads through, but you first have to start.
- 5:26You know what do I even want to grow?
- 5:28Where do I even want to begin? And then you'll be on your
- 5:31journey. All right, my friends.
- 5:33I'll see you tomorrow. Have a blessed day.
- 5:35Bye.
