  Speaker 1: Good Monday morning.
• 0:33
Speaker 4: Nice to have you with us on the forty seven
• 0:35
Speaker 4: Morning Update, and we've got one.
• 0:37
Speaker 1: Big story for you.
• 0:38
Speaker 4: Minnesota's Somali fraud scandal has exploded over the weekend. Cashpittel,
• 0:44
Speaker 4: the FBI director, is now threatening the Somali scammers with
• 0:48
Speaker 4: not only denaturalization and deportation over the uncovered Minnesota fraud,
• 0:54
Speaker 4: but he calls it the tip of a very large iceberg.
• 0:59
  Speaker 4: What's happening now?
• 1:00
  Speaker 5: Now?
• 1:00
Speaker 1: I break it all down for you.
• 1:02
Speaker 4: It's the forty seven Morning Update, and it starts right now.
• 1:05
  Speaker 3: Story number one.
• 1:06
Speaker 4: Minnesota's Somali fraud scandal has exploded, and now the FBI
• 1:12
Speaker 4: Director Cash Ptel is confirming that the FBI has surged
• 1:17
Speaker 4: personnel and investigative resources to Minnesota to dismantle the large
• 1:23
Speaker 4: scale fraud schemes exploiting federal programs, describing the current events
• 1:29
Speaker 4: as just a tip of a very large iceberg. The
• 1:33
Speaker 4: new claim is hundreds of millions in fake daycares, your
• 1:38
Speaker 4: tax dollars going to these centers, all of this being
• 1:42
Speaker 4: exposed by a twenty three year old YouTuber who did
• 1:46
Speaker 4: the job that no one in the media was willing
• 1:49
Speaker 4: to do. Now, the Bureau says that it has identified
• 1:53
Speaker 4: and dismantled a two hundred and fifty million dollar fraud
• 1:58
Speaker 4: scheme tied to federal food aid programs, leading to seventy
• 2:04
Speaker 4: eight indictments and fifty seven convictions. Caspertel also stated that
• 2:10
Speaker 4: some convicted fraudsters are being referred for denaturalization and deportation
• 2:17
Speaker 4: proceedings where eligible, signaling serious legal consequences beyond prison sentences,
• 2:24
Speaker 4: and the broader scope of the fraud is now being exposed.
• 2:28
Speaker 4: Federal prosecutors are now estimating the fraud across multiple programs
• 2:33
Speaker 4: in Minnesota alone will total into the billions of dollars,
• 2:38
Speaker 4: with part of the spotlight falling on social services, childcare assistance,
• 2:44
Speaker 4: healthcare billing, and nutrition programs. In other words, if there
• 2:49
Speaker 4: was a government program, it was being abused by the fraudsters.
• 2:54
Speaker 4: Now the FBI is continuing, they say, an ongoing investigation,
• 2:59
Speaker 4: and their expectations for more prosecutions and potential recoveries of
• 3:04
Speaker 4: misused taxpayer funds. National figures including Elon Musk and political
• 3:09
Speaker 4: leaders such as JD Vance and Representative Tom Emmer have
• 3:14
Speaker 4: amplified the incredible undercover video that exposed all of this,
• 3:19
Speaker 4: pushing for accountability and broader investigations into alleged misuse of
• 3:24
Speaker 4: taxpayer funds. And it may not just be Minnesota where
• 3:27
Speaker 4: the corruption is. Now we're saying that others are coming
• 3:31
Speaker 4: forward and saying it could be happening in other states. Now,
• 3:35
Speaker 4: how did we get to this point? Well, an independent journalist,
• 3:40
Speaker 4: a hero by the name of Nick Shirley posted a
• 3:43
Speaker 4: forty two minute investigative video on social media showing visits
• 3:49
Speaker 4: to multiple licensed childcare centers that allegedly received millions and
• 3:54
Speaker 4: millions of dollars in public funding, meaning taxpayer dollars, but
• 3:59
Speaker 4: we're empty or inactive, or wouldn't even answer a question
• 4:03
Speaker 4: on how he could enroll his son in daycare, including
• 4:07
Speaker 4: the Minneapolis Quality Learning Center and one lightly shared scene,
• 4:12
Speaker 4: Shirley highlighted that one center received roughly one point nine
• 4:16
Speaker 4: million alone in twenty twenty five from the Minnesota Childcare
• 4:20
Speaker 4: Assistants program, despite no children or activity being a parent
• 4:25
Speaker 4: at the site during daytime visits. Shirley's video claims that
• 4:31
Speaker 4: over one hundred and ten million in questionable payments were
• 4:34
Speaker 4: documented in a single day of investigating, and that is
• 4:37
Speaker 4: where the video went viral, garnering tens of millions of
• 4:42
Speaker 4: views and sparking national outrage, particularly among conservatives and political
• 4:48
Speaker 4: figures who share this footage saying it's time to clean house,
• 4:53
Speaker 4: which brings us to cash PTEL. Now, when something like
• 4:56
Speaker 4: this gets exposed, we're learning very quickly that the Trump
• 5:00
Speaker 4: administration is willing to do what others were unwilling to
• 5:03
Speaker 4: do in the Biden administration and what Democrats are unwilling
• 5:08
Speaker 4: to do on their own in Minnesota. Here's more of
• 5:11
Speaker 4: how Fox News covered it earlier and.
• 5:14
Speaker 5: Welcome back everybody. FAI Director Cash Mattel responding to a
• 5:17
Speaker 5: viral video that has raised even more concerns about Minnesota's
• 5:21
Speaker 5: massive fraud scandal. The video showing misspelled signs, locked doors,
• 5:25
Speaker 5: empty classrooms even at a Minneapolis daycare center. Now the
• 5:29
Speaker 5: state allegedly is also given the center millions in funding.
• 5:33
Speaker 5: Connor Hansen Live in New York City was the latest
• 5:35
Speaker 5: on that for us Hey, Connor.
• 5:37
Speaker 6: Hi Kevin Well. Four years now there have been allegations
• 5:40
Speaker 6: of widespread fraud and investigations in Minnesota, but now there's
• 5:45
Speaker 6: even more scrutiny following a new video that's gone viral
• 5:48
Speaker 6: coming from an independent journalist visiting daycare centers in the
• 5:52
Speaker 6: state that are receiving millions, apparently in tax dollars, with
• 5:56
Speaker 6: no signs of children there.
• 5:58
Speaker 1: Take a look. Put my son into daycare here?
• 6:01
Speaker 2: No, no, no, I don't know.
• 6:02
Speaker 1: Can I speak to someone I don't know? No?
• 6:05
Speaker 6: Yeah, I would like to see if I can put
• 6:07
Speaker 6: my son Joey here now. Twenty three year old journalist
• 6:09
Speaker 6: Nick Shirley visited one business that couldn't even spell its
• 6:13
Speaker 6: name correctly, with a sign saying leering center instead of learning.
• 6:17
Speaker 6: Some had blacked out windows and most had no signs
• 6:20
Speaker 6: of children there on a weekday. The viral video sparking
• 6:24
Speaker 6: a strong reaction from Vice President jd Vance, who wrote,
• 6:28
Speaker 6: politicians like it because they get power. Welfare cheats like
• 6:31
Speaker 6: it because they get rich.
• 6:33
  Speaker 1: But it's a zero.
• 6:33
Speaker 6: Sum game and they're stealing both money and political power
• 6:37
Speaker 6: from Minnesota's Earlier this month, Minnesota's assistant US Attorney said
• 6:42
Speaker 6: fraud involving Medicaid services likely reached more than nine billion dollars.
• 6:48
Speaker 1: Fraud is not small, It isn't isolated. The magnitude cannot
• 6:53
Speaker 1: be overstated. It's a staggering, industrial scale fraud.
• 6:58
Speaker 6: The eye director of Cash Pattel just posted on x
• 7:01
Speaker 6: saying that might just be the tip of the iceberg.
• 7:04
Speaker 6: Despite mounting criticism aimed at him from the White House
• 7:07
Speaker 6: and others, Governor Tim Walls has blamed Republicans for the
• 7:11
Speaker 6: lack of a solution.
• 7:13
Speaker 7: Nobody in the legislature on the Republican side is interested
• 7:16
Speaker 7: in solving this. Mike God, it would be the worst
• 7:18
Speaker 7: thing in the world for them if this is solved
• 7:20
Speaker 7: like we're doing it here early this year, because then
• 7:22
Speaker 7: what are they going to run on?
• 7:24
Speaker 6: And we've reached down to Governor Wallace for comment on
• 7:26
Speaker 6: that video, no response so far. Cash Battel also warning
• 7:30
Speaker 6: that possible denaturalization and deportation proceedings could come from this.
• 7:36
Speaker 4: And this is exactly why the FBI Director cash Battel
• 7:39
Speaker 4: not only came out but recognize that the ongoing fraud
• 7:42
Speaker 4: scandal and folding in Minnesota involving these childcare centers, saying
• 7:48
Speaker 4: it is a top priority of the FBI. This video
• 7:53
Speaker 4: all from a journalist on YouTube, Nick Shirley, going viral
• 7:57
Speaker 4: over the weekend because he did what the media refused
• 8:01
Speaker 4: to do, which is the second part of this story
• 8:04
Speaker 4: that everyone should be asking questions about. How is it
• 8:07
Speaker 4: that a twenty something who has a YouTube channel did
• 8:11
Speaker 4: more reporting on this fraud than the entire media conglomerate
• 8:17
Speaker 4: of the United States of America combined. How is it
• 8:21
Speaker 4: that he was able to go and confront employees at
• 8:25
Speaker 4: these alleged learning centers in Minnesota receiving millions of dollars
• 8:29
Speaker 4: in aid despite showing no signs of operational activity. How
• 8:35
Speaker 4: is it that four million dollars of hard earned tax
• 8:38
Speaker 4: dollars went to one center where they couldn't even spell
• 8:43
Speaker 4: the word learning correctly? And how did the media not
• 8:47
Speaker 4: do their job. The FBI Caspertel posted on x is
• 8:52
Speaker 4: aware of the recent social media report in Minnesota. However,
• 8:57
Speaker 4: even before the public conversation escalated online, the FBI had
• 9:02
Speaker 4: surged personnel and investigative resources to Minnesota to dismantle the
• 9:07
Speaker 4: large scale fraud schemes exploiting federal programs, fraud that steals
• 9:13
Speaker 4: from taxpayers. The FBI director goes on to say, and
• 9:17
Speaker 4: Rob's vulnerable children will remain a top FBI priority in
• 9:21
Speaker 4: Minnesota and nationwide. Bettel then noted that the FBI dismantled
• 9:27
Speaker 4: a two hundred and fifty million dollar fraud scheme that
• 9:30
Speaker 4: stole federal food aid meant for vulnerable children during COVID say.
• 9:36
Speaker 4: The investigation exposed sham vendors, shell companies, and large scale
• 9:41
Speaker 4: money laundering tied to the Feeding Our Future network. The
• 9:45
Speaker 4: case led to seventy eight indictments and fifty seven convictions.
• 9:50
Speaker 4: Defendants included high level and high named individuals, each of
• 9:55
Speaker 4: them charged for their roles ranging from wirefraud to money
• 9:58
Speaker 4: laundering to conspiracy. Patel concluded that these schemes quote are
• 10:04
Speaker 4: just the tip of the very large ice berg. The
• 10:08
Speaker 4: assistant US attorney. By the way, Joseph Thompson also revealed
• 10:12
Speaker 4: earlier this month at half of the eighteen billion in
• 10:16
Speaker 4: federal welfare funds which support fourteen Minnesota run programs since
• 10:21
Speaker 4: twenty eighteen, have been lost to fraud. Quote, Minnesota has
• 10:27
Speaker 4: become a magnet for fraud, so much so that we
• 10:31
Speaker 4: have developed a fraud tourism industry, people coming to our
• 10:35
Speaker 4: state purely to exploit and defraud its programs. Thompson said,
• 10:40
Speaker 4: this is deeply unsettling and a reality that all Minnesotans
• 10:44
Speaker 4: should understand. So you go back to the big question,
• 10:49
Speaker 4: how is it that one man was able to do
• 10:51
Speaker 4: so much good? And how was it that the media
• 10:54
Speaker 4: and the Democratic Party did nothing to stop it? Well,
• 10:59
Speaker 4: it could be for two reasons. One, the media was
• 11:01
Speaker 4: in on it. They knew there was reports of fraud,
• 11:04
Speaker 4: and they deliberately chose to look the other way. Why
• 11:08
Speaker 4: because much of that money was coming back to support
• 11:12
Speaker 4: Democrats who were running for office and who had been elected.
• 11:17
Speaker 4: There's also the other question, how much to Governor Waltz,
• 11:20
Speaker 4: the former man who could have been one heartbeat away
• 11:24
Speaker 4: from the presidency. What did he know and when did
• 11:27
Speaker 4: he know it? And how involved was he and why
• 11:29
Speaker 4: is he not doing more? You have to remember all
• 11:32
Speaker 4: he's saying now is somehow this is the Republican's fault,
• 11:36
Speaker 4: even though Democrats are in charge of every aspect of
• 11:39
Speaker 4: the state of Minnesota. And he doesn't answer the question,
• 11:43
Speaker 4: and he also doesn't seem to be angry at all.
• 11:46
Speaker 4: He doesn't seem to care about the fraud, which brings
• 11:49
Speaker 4: us back to exactly what Casptel said. Not only is
• 11:53
Speaker 4: the FBI aware of the recent social media reports, but
• 11:56
Speaker 4: we are dismantling large scale frauds and it's only the
• 12:00
Speaker 4: tip of the iceberg.
• 12:03
Speaker 1: That's why Donald Trump put him in charge.
• 12:05
Speaker 4: And one thing's for sure, the President is honed in
• 12:08
Speaker 4: on this fraud and gonna do everything he can to
• 12:11
  Speaker 4: stop it.
