- 0:34questions that you want me to answer in that first video,
- 0:37please leave them in the comments because that will be
- 0:40part of that video is I'm going to be doing a bit of AQ and a
- 0:43for you guys all right, before I get into it, Please remember to

- 0:51of the year. Please and share our deep dive
- 0:54if you guys enjoyed it from Friday, because like I said
- 0:57yesterday, it was a labor of love.
- 0:58We put so much work into it and we really want to get those
- 1:01views up. It is doing well and it's on
- 1:03track to like keep doing well. But yes, we really want it to
- 1:06slay. OK, the first story that I have
- 1:08for you guys today is we have a little bit of streamer drama,
- 1:12which we never really talked about here, not very often, but
- 1:15XQC has called out Pokey Mane for turning streaming into quote
- 1:19UN quote drama. So last week Pokey Mane post on
- 1:23X that she misses when streaming was more about gaming and less
- 1:27about drama. She wrote.
- 1:29I miss when streaming was about gaming, not just drama baiting
- 1:32and clip farming. First of all, I do think we can
- 1:35probably all agree that the Internet in general now is
- 1:37driven by like viral clips and scandal.
- 1:40So this is definitely not unique to streaming, and I also think a
- 1:43lot of us could agree that we wish this for most corners of
- 1:47the Internet. However, streamer XQC hit back
- 1:50at Pokemane, saying that Pokemane was partially to blame
- 1:53for the streaming drama that she is criticizing.
- 1:56He wrote. Daily reminder that I was doing
- 1:58GTARP by day, slots by night in my corner of streaming until
- 2:02everyone brackets her. Farmed me and at Trainwreck STV
- 2:07for drama and clicks. Miss me with that energy.
- 2:10Walk the walk salty. So what he's referencing here is
- 2:15a situation back in 2022 when gambling over stream became a
- 2:19huge topic of conversation online after British streamer
- 2:23It's Like Her admitted to scamming his fans and fellow
- 2:26streamers out of thousands of dollars due to his crippling
- 2:30gambling addiction. So he convinced people that he
- 2:33needed money because his bank accounts were locked.
- 2:35That's what he initially said and people kind of thought it
- 2:38was a bit sussed, but he ended up getting thousands of dollars
- 2:41and then he shortly after admitted that it was because he
- 2:43has this crippling gambling addiction and he needed to, I
- 2:46guess, pay off some debts or like keep gambling.
- 2:49At the time, Pokémon publicly put pressure on Twitch to ban
- 2:52gambling content, which pissed off a lot of streamers,
- 2:55presumably including XQC, who, as he mentioned, played quote
- 2:59slots by night on stream at the time.
- 3:01Twitch actually did end up introducing rules that
- 3:04restricted live streaming from certain gambling sites that same
- 3:06year, so this is directly from Dexterdo quote.
- 3:09The decision followed months of controversy around slot streams
- 3:12and influence or partnerships, which placed creators like XQC
- 3:16and Train Wreck at the center of the debate, with Pokey Main
- 3:19frequently calling them out. Despite this, Pokey was getting
- 3:22a lot of criticism after tweeting what she tweeted last
- 3:25week. Others were piling on to X QC
- 3:28take that she has used clip farming and drama to boost her
- 3:31personal brand in the past, and she ended up deleting the
- 3:35tweets. OK, the next story that I have
- 3:36for you guys is I'm going to talk about the cooking with Kaya
- 3:38going quote UN quote broke situation and how it has sparked
- 3:43discussion around audience demographics and how you can
- 3:47actually build a monetizable, sustainable audience.
- 3:51So Cooking with Kaya is a popular tik toker who makes
- 3:54cooking and lifestyle content. Her content is a little bit
- 3:57sexy, like she's often in lingerie and she has
- 4:00subscriptions. So I wouldn't necessarily say
- 4:02that it's tailored to women who want to learn to cook.
- 4:04It's not not tailored to women, but you know what I mean?
- 4:08And that's all I want to say about that because there's like
- 4:09a lot of slut shaming going on in this conversation, which is
- 4:12disgusting and not OK. And I absolutely do not want any
- 4:16of this to contribute to that. So just know, yes, her content
- 4:20is cooking and lifestyle, but it is sexy, OK?
- 4:23She looks good, she's hot, she's wearing hot stuff.
- 4:26So people are starting to talk about cooking with Kaya online
- 4:29because there are these accounts that are claiming to be Kaya
- 4:31saying that she's broke and asking for money primarily
- 4:35through Facebook. And X Kaya has come out and said
- 4:37that these are impersonator accounts, which I'm going to
- 4:40believe because this happens all the time.
- 4:42I mean, it covered a scam like this on the astrology side of
- 4:46TikTok earlier this year, but it's very common for these
- 4:48accounts to pop up impersonating public figures, bigger creators
- 4:52asking fans for money like that. Happens all the time.
- 4:54Unfortunately for the people who have recently been making like
- 4:57these too many rants about me and telling me what I should
- 5:01have did and what I didn't do right in this down the third.
- 5:04I've been telling y'all since March that those that that that
- 5:07the Facebook account and the X account impersonating me are not
- 5:10me. Just because you don't see me on
- 5:11social media anymore, because I choose not to be on the Internet
- 5:14right now, because I'm taking a break, because I'm grieving my
- 5:17dead sister doesn't mean I went broke.
- 5:20But moral of the story is stop believing everything you see.
- 5:23That's literally not me posting on that Facebook.
- 5:27That's literally not me posting on XI.
- 5:29Mind my business. I literally mind my business.
- 5:33Regardless, this situation has sparked a lot of discourse
- 5:36around social media marketing, personal branding, and building
- 5:40an authentic target audience that is monetizable.
- 5:42So removing Kaya from the conversation because we don't
- 5:46know her audience demographics and like I said, she is saying
- 5:48like this is not true. I am not broke, but it's not
- 5:51uncommon for women creators who post sexy content, baddie
- 5:55content, and that kind of stuff. They could have more male
- 5:58followers than women that don't post that kind of content.
- 6:00So there's a lot of discussion right now about the lack of
- 6:03value in an audience like that as a woman content creator
- 6:06online. Here is a clip from the creator
- 6:08Queen Sovereign Cooking. Wakaya is a cautionary tale that
- 6:12male validation does not convert to currency.
- 6:16If you are a female content creator, one of the worst things
- 6:19that you could do is to have your niche require your target
- 6:24demographic to be men. You are not going to get brand
- 6:28deals when your target demographic is men.
- 6:32Your conversions are not going to be strong if your target
- 6:36demographic is men. You got to be business minded
- 6:40before you decide to start content creating.
- 6:42Content creating is a business. Now, that's not to say that men
- 6:46are not able to be sold to through influencer marketing,
- 6:50but more so that men are less likely to purchase a product
- 6:52from a woman pushing a product to them because there's only so
- 6:55many products that that would align with, right?
- 6:58Like if your audience is 70% male as a woman content creator,
- 7:03beauty brands, for example, are less likely to work with you
- 7:06because they know that a huge portion of your audience is
- 7:08probably not interested in makeup or beauty products.
- 7:11And the same would be true for, you know, all types of brands
- 7:13that are targeting women. And let's be honest, the vast
- 7:16majority of influencer marketing or brands that are engaging in
- 7:18influencer marketing are trying to target women.
- 7:20So you could get brand deals, I suppose, for men's, I don't
- 7:24know, grooming products, services and position it from
- 7:27the perspective of like, I would buy this for my boyfriend for
- 7:30Valentine's Day or something like that.
- 7:31But then you have to think, why would a brand work with you when
- 7:36you haven't technically, like use the product or you're not
- 7:38the target audience for the product anyways, when they could
- 7:40work with a male content creator who could speak to using the
- 7:44product or the service themselves.
- 7:45And I actually have two anecdotes about this.
- 7:47Well, one of them, the first one's not like really an
- 7:49anecdote, but this situation reminds me of when Carl and
- 7:52Lindsay on Summer House were engaged and Lindsay was
- 7:56constantly talking to Carl about getting a job and making more
- 7:58money. And he said it's much harder for
- 8:01me to monetize my position on the show and my position as an
- 8:04influencer because influencer marketing women make so much
- 8:07more money and influencer marketing than men do.
- 8:10And 2nd, when I was doing a lot more personal lifestyle YouTube
- 8:13influencer stuff back in the day, I was friendly with this
- 8:16girl who had a huge following on Instagram.
- 8:19And she largely built that in like the heyday of the Instagram
- 8:22Batty era. And she did this brand deal with
- 8:24a huge body care company here. And after the partnership really
- 8:29fell flat, I guess this brand did some due diligence into her
- 8:32demographics and engagement and things like that, which
- 8:34honestly, they should have done obviously before they engaged in
- 8:36a partnership with her. But I don't know, I guess they
- 8:38didn't whatever. And they found that she was
- 8:41maybe not being like totally truthful, I don't want to say
- 8:44lying, but like not being totally truthful about her
- 8:46demographics. And some insane number, it was
- 8:49like 90% or something of her audience were men, mostly like
- 8:52older men. And they actually filed A
- 8:55lawsuit against her. And I have no idea what ended up
- 8:57happening with that. OK.
- 8:58But yeah, this cooking with Kai's situation, I feel bad that
- 9:01she has become the catalyst for this, especially if these are
- 9:04all fake accounts and she's like, I'm strand up, not broke,
- 9:07Like, leave me alone. But I think it's sparked
- 9:09interesting conversation around the value and audience
- 9:11demographics over follower count and even view count.
- 9:15There's a lot of misconceptions from general social media users
- 9:18about how much money creators are making.
- 9:21We see a verified account. We see hundreds of thousands of
- 9:24followers, even millions of followers, and we assume that
- 9:26person's a millionaire. And there are so many reasons
- 9:29why that person could be making like almost no money from social
- 9:33media or they could be making millions of dollars.
- 9:35There is such a wide spectrum and there's so many factors that
- 9:39come into play that influence how much money you will make as
- 9:43a creator. OK.
- 9:44And the last story that I have for you guys, this is really
- 9:47random, but I feel like I haven't done like a fun viral
- 9:50corner of the Internet story in a long time.
- 9:52So bean talk is going viral, but not for the reasons you may
- 9:57think. So bean talk is kind of on like
- 10:00the health and food, maybe like self improvement.
- 10:02Also side of TikTok where nutritionists, dietitians,
- 10:05doctors are promoting the consumption of around 2 cups of
- 10:08beans or legumes per week. Now bean talk is a spinoff.
- 10:14It's like a spinoff reaction, I suppose, to another trending
- 10:17discussion that we saw online this year around fiber.
- 10:20So these same communities started educating people around
- 10:23the fitness industry and how it brainwashed us into being
- 10:26obsessed with protein intake when really the major issues in
- 10:30a lot of Western diets is that we don't have enough fiber.
- 10:33So bean talk in general is people documented renting their
- 10:36experiences eating more beans and legumes and trying to follow
- 10:39this two cups a week rule and how this is making them feel.
- 10:43And you would think that these videos would be mostly about
- 10:47their physical experiences, right?
- 10:49They'd be talking about how they feel more full, how their bowel
- 10:53movements are more regular, whatever, right?
- 10:55Just like physical experiences, wrong.
- 10:57Bean talk is filled with people talking about how eating more
- 11:01beans has made them feel calmer, they have less anxiety, they
- 11:07have stronger nervous systems, they're more emotionally
- 11:09resilient, they have clearer heads, they're getting better
- 11:13sleep. It's so funny people are talking
- 11:15about their experience eating more beans like they are these
- 11:18magic anti anxiety pills or something like that.
- 11:22I've been. Eating 2 cups of beans since
- 11:24bean tuck took over my life about a month ago and here are 4
- 11:27unexpected benefits that I experienced in the past month
- 11:31that had me saying is it the beans?
- 11:32Is it the beans? What is this sorcery?
- 11:35I've never been able to drive over a bridge without panicking,
- 11:38and about a week into bean talk, I drove over my most dreaded
- 11:41bridge, the Skyway in Buffalo. Completely fine.
- 11:44I've been snacking on crispy air fryer black beans before bed,
- 11:47and I've been getting the best night's sleep I've ever gotten
- 11:50in my life. Might be a little out there for
- 11:52some people, but I don't know if my energy is just better.
- 11:54But like, people have been nicer to me ever since I started
- 11:57eating the beans. The videos are hilarious, and
- 12:00I'm not a doctor, so I'm not going to give you, like, the
- 12:01signs behind it. But I suppose people are saying
- 12:04it's because we know that the mind and the gut are so
- 12:07connected. And so, yeah, people are saying,
- 12:09like, this is the result of nourishing your gut more.
- 12:13It's like you will actually get these, like, emotional responses
- 12:17in a way that maybe you didn't expect.
- 12:19This has absolutely motivated me to try eating more beans,
- 12:23especially before bed. People are saying they're eating
- 12:25handfuls of beans, like dried beans before they go to sleep
- 12:29and they have like the best sleep of their life.
- 12:31And like, you guys know I'm an insomnia girlie, so I need to be
- 12:34like shoving handfuls of beans right before I try to go to
- 12:38sleep. Anyways, guys, that's it for
- 12:40mini scroll today. This was such a random episode.
- 12:43Every once in awhile we have an episode that just like makes no
- 12:45sense. But you know what, here we are.
- 12:46Thank you guys so much for listening.
- 12:47I love you guys. Please remember to rate, review
- 12:50and subscribe. Annabelle will talk to you guys
- 12:52tomorrow. I also have a female founder
- 12:53interview at the end of tomorrow's episode for Annabelle
- 12:56and I will talk to you guys on Thursday.
