- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguar's fans, welcome in to Dove All Daily, presented by Jim Jack.com.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Alugo.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks so much for being here Wednesday, September 10th, happy hump day.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: We're about halfway in between week one, week two, Jaguar is getting a kicked off against Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati, a big week two matchup between two undefeated football teams.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: Excited to get into that over the next few days, but right now, we are talking about are these Jaguars for real and kind of,
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: offering some of the maybe pessimistic outlooks of where this Jack Wars team is at.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: And at the end all kind of, you know, yesterday we did, the Teal colored glasses outlook of the Jacksonville Jack Wars.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: Right now we're gonna look at a little pessimistically and at the end all kind of give my honest evaluation.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: from, you know, kind of both sides there.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm excited to get into it.

- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: Pick up some new Duval gear.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: reasons to kind of doubt what you're seeing from the jag wars right now, the Panthers, they're not good.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they're not a good football team.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_00]: That's that's very true.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: And the jag wars did in my opinion a lot of what you need to do against a not good football team, like it was never a close game.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: The the jags really handed handled the Panthers and handed it to them, right?
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: They took
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't mean that the Jack Wars can hang with the likes of the best teams in the NFL or even the Bengals, a team who failed to make the playoffs last year and has had struggles on defense and has had struggles early on in the season.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: Beating the Panthers does not mean you can hang with the big dogs, point blank period.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's actually very fair.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: The penalty one is an interesting argument.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar's penalty situation was a trotis last week.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: It was alarming during practice, during training camp, during the pre-season at times.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: And then you have 11 penalties for almost 100 yards.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: And a lot of it, the ones that bothered me the most were the ones that led to second 20, like holding penalties, pre-snap, fall starts, things of that nature.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: You got to get that cleaned up.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: You can't have everybody on your offensive line outside of one guy, shout out to Anton Harris
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: you can't have every starter on your offensive line picking up a penalty every game.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: You just can't not have that.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: That's inexcusable, really, in my opinion, especially against a not so great Carolina Panthers defense of front.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they have Derek Brown.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: He's tough and there's some decent guys, right?
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not like just saying that's a horrible unit, but it's not one of the better units you're going to face.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: That's for sure.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: Beating yourself on offense with drops,
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: is not going to get the job done against better teams.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: Three drops, 13% drop rate by the Jaguars receivers.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: That's no good.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_00]: That is no good.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: 13% is way, way too high.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: And then Miss throws as well by the quarterback, right?
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: Like Trevor Lawrence, Miss too many throws in this game.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: You hope that that's like first game and a new offense type stuff, but you've seen that time Trevor Lawrence miss some throws.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: When you face a team with more than good one-out side receiver, how can you handle that?
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: How do you defend that?
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: Because let's face it again.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_00]: The Panthers outside receivers, only good one is team-back and he does a rookie first game last week.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_00]: Still how to good game.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: I think Tizen Campbell will handle his side of the field.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: But what happens when you have two good outside receivers?
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: Is Jarian Jones good enough?
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: When he was on Teteromic Mill and he struggled.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: We'll try to have his 100 play more corner back.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: And we had six reps at corner against the Panthers now.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: Was that by design?
- 5:02[SPEAKER_00]: Was that because the Jaguars didn't need him playing corner in the second half?
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: Was that because he missed 10 days of camp?
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: These questions need to be answered.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: These interior of the defensive line still isn't inspiring in a way that's like, you have dominance.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think Eric Armstrong still can be the guy that you want him to be, and I think you saw some of that on Sunday.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think Devon Hamilton, Colin Saunders, Austin Johnson, can all stop the run.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_00]: But where the heck is making Spit Mason Smith?
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: That's the guy who, if you get him and Eric Armstead, Hummin as past wrestlers, you could have one of the most dominant past wrestlers in football.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_00]: He wasn't even active.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, I mean, the lack of training camp reps and all that, but he played in the preseason week three game.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: He had a couple weeks of practice leading up.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: Can't get him on the field.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: And after the game Liam Cohen says they are excited to get him on the field.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: They're, they want him on the field.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: Why can't you get him on the field?
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: What's up with that?
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: Finally, I mean, the connection between Trevor Lawrence and Brian Thomas Junior has been concerning all offseason.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: And it was concerning in week one.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: Like,
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: You target, Brian Thomas Jr.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: seven times and there's one connection, you need to be targeting more than seven times.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, you don't want to force feed it when it's not working.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: But in most games, do you want Brian Thomas Jr.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: with more than seven targets?
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you do.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, the first target, Mike Jackson was all over it, right?
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe third, fourth, fifth, few targets in there, just poor execution by Trevor.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: You did have the one nice first down in a big moment, which was good to see.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think I got to get that figured out because Brian Thomas Jr.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: is one of the most dangerous wider severs in football.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence is too good to be missing him like that.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: Like even if you think Trevor Lawrence isn't great, which a lot of folks don't.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: And he didn't play great on Sunday, there's no way he should be missing that much thrown to Brian Thomas Jr.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Thomas Jr.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: is a make you write type of receiver in a lot of ways.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: So that connection, I mean, if they can't get that going, what are we even doing here?
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: So that's the negative pessimistic view on the Jaguars right now.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: Where do I stand on all this stuff?
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the Panthers are not good.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: So you got to prove it against better football team, bottom line.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: You did what you're supposed to do against a bad football team, but that doesn't mean you're going to do what you need to do against good football teams.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: The penalties, they are concerning.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: I do think the fact that you are able to overcome a lot of the penalties is good.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: Overall, week one is weird.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think that you have seen a pattern or trend of penalties being an issue.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: And we say that I want more time to evaluate this situation, penalty wise.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: Meeting yourselves with drops on offense, do I think Brian Thomas, Jr.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter, are gonna drop a lot of footballs, no?
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: Do you want me brown?
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think that drops will get better.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think they're gonna have a 13% drop rate ever again.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: Think it'll be under 10 by seasons end.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: When you face a team with more than one good outside receiver, how do you defend that?
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: I am concerned with that a little bit.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: I do think Jari and Jones is a good player.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't play all that well on Sunday when he was lined up against Pedro Macmillan.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, facing teams like you're going to face this week with T-higgins and tomorrow chase is that concerning?
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, that's concerning.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to get Travis Hunter more out there corner.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: I need to see that, right?
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: So, um,
- 9:20[SPEAKER_00]: interior the defensive line.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not worried about it because I do think the guys we talked about can defend the run.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_00]: I want to see Mason Smith, but they still can figure out ways to heat up the quarterback with the interior the defensive line in past rush situations because they can kick the one-smooth and try one walker and manual log but inside.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm actually not really worried about that.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: And then the Lawrence to BTJ connection.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_00]: I have every confidence in the world they're going to figure that out.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_00]: I really do.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's going to be much better than it was on Sunday.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_00]: So that's where we're at.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: Are the Jaguars for real?
- 9:56[SPEAKER_00]: I think they are definitely a organization right now that I believe in from the top down.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: I still think there's areas they need to improve as a team.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_00]: I still think there's areas they can get more talented as a team.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I think the jar wars are a for real week to week competitive football team.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_00]: And I think you're gonna see that in Cincinnati on Sunday.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all have a good one.
