- 0:57[SPEAKER_03]: intentionality and responsible influence collide.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_03]: John Mitchell is an entrepreneur, success mentor, and the founder of Think It Be It.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_03]: And he's known for creating the world's top application of the book, Think It Grow Rich.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_03]: After decades as an entrepreneur, John radically transformed his life by uncovering the full secret behind the book.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_03]: and developing a 12 minute a day technique that helped him grow his income from low six figures to over five million a year.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_03]: John now teaches this method at the University of Texas McCones School of Business and he even serves as the mental coach for their head athletic coaches.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_03]: His work is all about applying the science of success and helping driven business owners net over a million dollars a year.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_03]: John, I love your description of your work.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_03]: Teaching people to play the game of life at their full potential is power.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_03]: And the 12 minute daily practice is such a compelling hook.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_03]: I'm excited to dive into your approach and share it with our audience.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome to Daily Influence, John.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_01]: Hey Greg, I'm glad to be here.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_03]: Let's start with your story.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_03]: Could you share a bit about your background in what led you to where you are today, especially the turning point at age 50, when you decided to apply, think, and grow a rich word for word to your life?
- 2:23[SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_01]: So when I turned 50, I just wanted to successful, as I thought I should be.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: And I had started out as a CPA.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_01]: It became an entrepreneur when I was 30.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_01]: And Greg, I was in like seven different businesses
- 2:40[SPEAKER_01]: And so I hit 50 and I'm just not as successful as I think I should be and I have two goals my life to make it have many so I didn't have to work and to find the woman in my dreams.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_01]: And on the money, I always did pretty well, you know, 200, 300,000 a year, but is materialistic as this sounds when I hit 50 I realized I had to start netting a million dollars a year.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: And on the girl, which I had to realize was more important than the money, I had never been married to fit.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, although I did a lot of interview, Hank, uh, just, uh, couldn't find the right one.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_01]: And, uh, so at 50, I'm like, how may I change things?
- 3:29[SPEAKER_01]: And, it's probably three months after a turn 50, a Pearl of Wisdom comes to me to find the top of the world on success and apply that book literally word for word in my life.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: So I jump out of bed, I do the research, and Greg, I come to appreciate something that really surprised me.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_01]: There's one book that's been read by 150 million people, and it's the top of the world on success by a fan for a 10, and that book is sinking or a rich, which I bet you've read, right?
- 4:02[SPEAKER_01]: say half right and so unlike wow this is setting up so well who knew there was one book above all the all the rest on success and so I rush out I buy the book and I read the book then and discover the problem book says there's a secret for success but the author only gives us half of the secret so on the reader to figure out the other half well
- 4:29[SPEAKER_01]: Unbumped out.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'm moped around for like three weeks.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: And finally, just one taker egg.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: I just get up and go, John, man up, just man up, figure out the damn secret.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_01]: And so I immerse myself in the book and read it probably 20 times over two months or three months and ultimately figure out the full secret and a 12 minute date technique to apply it.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_01]: And so I started applying it to a new business.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: I was starting in the reverse part of its field.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_01]: And quickly, my income source doubling and doubling and doubling to where approximately four years later.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'm blessed to be making 25 times to 200 to 300 grand a year as making the prior 20 years.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_01]: And of course I felt so blessed, but I could see why I was happening.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I just plan the game of life at a higher level.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I could do things like,
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: could never do before.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: I had a level of control over my life I'd never had before and Greg I became fascinated that you could take to key scientific principles and apply them to your life and so dramatically impagers success.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: And so about 12 years ago, I finally had enough money so I didn't have to work, sell my company.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_01]: And a month or two later, I meet the former Chancellor and President here at the University of Texas.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_01]: I tell him my stories as, hey, you have thesis at the University of Texas, and why don't you when we teach together, and that led to him introducing me to the athletic director who said, I'm going to learn this 12-minute-day technique, and so I teach to him, and that leads to becoming the middle coach for the 18-head coaches.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: And so I teach my methodology to students in a class called the Science of Success, the science of leveraging yourself.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's what I would call advanced leadership and self, and I teach my method on you to adults through through my book.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_03]: And John, what is the name of your book?
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: The missing secret of the legendary book, Thank You Grot Rich.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_03]: we will be sure to link that in the show notes, you know, your breakthrough came from uncovering the full secret and thinking direction in the spirit of responsible influence.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_03]: How do you explain that secret today and how can people use it to take ownership of their goals, focus, and outcomes?
- 7:02[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's a thing about this, Greg.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_01]: And this is a question to your audience.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_01]: How do you create success?
- 7:10[SPEAKER_01]: Just conceptually, how do you create success?
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: That's the question I was asking myself at 50 because I've definitely the way I was doing it, when working.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: And when I ask people this in person, usually they'll stumble around for an answer.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_01]: And then the more pertinent question is, do you feel like your results reflect your potential and your intelligence?
- 7:35[SPEAKER_01]: Well,
- 7:36[SPEAKER_01]: the vast majority cases, they say no, and it does not.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what I felt at 50 was, there's more in the tank, but why isn't it coming out?
- 7:46[SPEAKER_01]: Why don't my results reflect my potential?
- 7:50[SPEAKER_01]: And what I see is the most people are wing and life.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_01]: they don't have a way of doing life.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_01]: They're just getting up doing the best they can, and that was me for for just a year.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, the thing that I think you'll find surprising in this of so foundational of what I teach is that 95% of your daily actions are unconscious.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_01]: And I'll let
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they're in the moment, they're, they're reactive, they're on autopilot.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_01]: And since you're unconscious, your conscious mind, intelligence and intellect is not controlling your daily actions.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_01]: Get through the very thing that determines your success.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: This is, you know, it's just, it's simple to connect the dots.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_01]: You got to get control over those unconscious daily actions.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_01]: And I see that most people, this is new information that 95% of the daily actions are unconscious.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_01]: But once you get that, it's a whole new world.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_03]: And you see this approach create major ripple effects.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_01]: And so if you're intelligence and intellect
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: your actions, and what it is.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we're, as humans, we're an eightly wired for survival, which causes us the vast majority of our laws to be fear-based, we're a reactive, rather proactive, and we're adverse to change.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's what's driving us.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_01]: If you're not taking control of those unconscious daily actions, then you're defaulting to being wired for survival, and that's the problem.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that is so true.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, your 12 minute day technique helped you go from years of low six figure income to 5 million.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_03]: Can you tell us about a specific moment when you felt you made a positive impact on someone else's life by teaching or sharing this method?
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's interesting.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like I do that every day, whether it's through my class or people that embrace my methodology, but maybe I'll explain what the secret is.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: I bet that's something your audience would be interested in.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_01]: Well, here's, you know, this one explaining is how I discovered it.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: So, back when I was 50, there was a little more going on than just feeling the scarcity of time.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_01]: My mom was dying of pancreatic cancer.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_01]: And so, every day after work, I'd go see her, and I'd love honor and hold her hand, and then Greg, I would go in the cold dark hospital parking lot, and cry my eyes out, light for...
- 10:48[SPEAKER_01]: 45 minutes an hour every night.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_01]: And, and obviously, I'm feeling the impending loss my mom, but, but I never experienced that level of of gut-wrenching angst night after night for 45 minutes to an hour.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_01]: And what I came to realize, but probably not then, but, um,
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I feel like I was laying my mom down with my life because my mom and dad gave me all the advantages.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: They sent me to Jesuit high school in Dallas.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_01]: When they really didn't have money, they sent me to the University of Texas.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't have to pay for a thing.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_01]: And so, as she was leaving this world, I'm reflective about all the advantages she had given me.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_01]: And all I had to show for my life at 50 was the average life.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: And I hated the average life.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_01]: Because I just knew I was capable of so much more.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_01]: And so, you know, now I look back and I realize that feeling a letting my mom down was like, Ron could fuel and cause me to go deeper in the figure out the full secret of thanking Rores.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: then anybody else on the planet and that's why I was, I feel like I was blessed to figure out the secret.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_01]: So that makes sense.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_01]: And so the secret comes to me one of these nights.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_01]: And this particular night it was felt different because of snowing in Dallas, which does not have any very awful.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_01]: And so I remember after I saw my mom and cried my eyes out in the hospital parking lot, I get my corn, I sort of drive in the home in the big, stoke legs, or hit my windshield, and it just feels different.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_01]: I get home, and I plot myself in my nice comfy chair, and I start reading,
- 12:50[SPEAKER_01]: and keep in mind, it's probably the 20th time I've read it.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_01]: And this particular night, I read that your daily actions determine your success in each area of your life.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_01]: The cumulative effect of your daily actions determine your success in your career, in your marriage, in your health.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, okay, I never thought about success in such simple terms, but I certainly buy that.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_01]: And then I read that 95% of your daily actions are unconscious, like, huh, I'd never heard that before.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_01]: And so now I'm ready to go to bed and so I watch my face and brush my teeth and put my little head on the pillow.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_01]: And Greg is I'm laying there.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_01]: I just can't stop thinking about what I just read that 95% of my daily actions are unconscious.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_01]: I remember it sort of hit me like, whoa, wait a minute.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_01]: If my daily accident determined my success in 95% of our own conscious, then
- 13:58[SPEAKER_01]: Those are actions of the very thing that determines my success and I have got to get control of them.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_01]: That's the key to success.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, it's sort of like when those surreal moments where I'm looking out at the I'm laying in bed, I'm looking out in my backyard and I see the glistening snowflakes and just feel surreal.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, well, okay, so what controls my daily actions?
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: If they're unconscious, then my subconscious mind controls them.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_01]: And my auto pilot, and as I started to grasp that, I'm like, oh, wait a minute, you know,
- 14:44[SPEAKER_01]: intelligence or drive, I've been and in performing because I've had a false belief about success for 50 years that's been holding me back and that false belief is that I control my daily actions.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_01]: And I would dare say everybody listening to this has that very same false belief that they control their daily actions when in fact they've done.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_01]: And so that's when I realized, oh, I had to get
- 15:13[SPEAKER_01]: unconscious daily ancients and the subconscious mind only responds to repetition and and so then the secret comes to me and the secret of thinking girl reaches what you envision in detail with the motion on a daily basis is what shows up in your life.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_01]: And let me say that again, what you envision in detail with the motion on a daily basis is what shows up in your life.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_01]: And great what that means is you step back from your life, you create immense clarity about it.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly the person you want to be, exactly what you want to accomplish, and precisely how you're going to achieve your clearly defined goals.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, putting on it on the template will help you actually create the clarity and then you feed it to yourself every day listening to it or reading it takes 12 minutes a day and after you do that three things then happen immediately you fill this immense sense of control over your life and of course you would you're feeding the succinct articulation of your desired life to yourself of course you're going to feel control.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_01]: Then the second thing you experience is confidence, which is directly related to the level of control you feel.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_01]: And you also feel de-stress because the mind thrives on order and you're creating immense order in the mind by feeding the succinct articulation of your desired life to yourself.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_01]: And then the third thing happens.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_01]: Now this takes 21 days before it happens because that's how long it takes to rewire your autopilot.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_01]: After 21 days, then Ryan action start happening automatically without thinking, and that's really the game changer and you're impacting your career, your health and your marriage all at the same time.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_03]: That's amazing.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_03]: Can you give us an example of someone that you've seen go through this?
- 17:22[SPEAKER_01]: Well, let me give you a practical example of how it works because we're talking about it from a more or less 30,000 foot view.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_01]: But here's an example, like in my marriage.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_01]: So every day, my wife and I get up and get going and then be reconvened for dinner.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_01]: And in my 12-minute day morning routine,
- 17:51[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of things, and in particular with regards to my marriage, a couple of things I refer is that I am flexible, patient, and thoughtful, and I define what that means in our relationship.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_01]: I also refer that my wife is different than I am.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_01]: She does sing slow in his people or in
- 18:17[SPEAKER_01]: dinner comes and she starts preparing dinner and in her world, everything has to be perfect.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_01]: The napkins have to be in place, everything has to be perfect.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_01]: Now in my world, I'm thinking, and I'm only thinking this, I'm thinking, babe, your boy is hungry.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_01]: Let's put the food on the table.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_01]: But what happens is, I'm not saying that, but at the first hint of my impatience, an unconscious thought bubbles up to my conscious mind to go, John, here is an opportunity to be patient.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_01]: And so what do I do?
- 19:08[SPEAKER_01]: I'm patient.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_01]: Well, why does that happen?
- 19:11[SPEAKER_01]: Well, because a couple of reasons, first of all, from what I've reading each morning, I'm creating that, that what I call the bubble up effect, that moves an action from being on autopilot to being controlled by my conscious mind intelligence.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_01]: And, and,
- 19:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'll give an example in my career.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_01]: You know, one of the things I affirm in my life, GPS template every morning is that I focus on what moves the needle and I describe myself what those three things are.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_01]: Well, when I'm at work at the first hint of feeling like I'm off in the weeds,
- 19:55[SPEAKER_01]: an unconscious slight bubbles up to my conscious mind to okay take control of this and focus on what moves the needle.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I am.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_01]: moving from auto pilot to conscious mind using my intelligence and intellect and you can see there are like 50 things in my life GPS template that I'm affirming and I'm making all that way more conscious and it's just playing the game alive to hire a level.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_03]: That is a perfect example to share with our listeners.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_03]: I couldn't just see them thinking
- 20:35[SPEAKER_03]: that's exactly how I can apply it to my life.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and you know, again, I think people don't quite realize the profound implications of 95% of their daily actions being unconscious.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_01]: They do not get that.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_01]: And if you go into Google, and Google, what percentage of my daily actions are unconscious, in big door
- 21:03[SPEAKER_01]: And one thing for people understand, this is so foundational, here's what's happening.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_01]: You're taking an action and unconsciously.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_01]: And then a couple of milliseconds later, you're becoming conscious of it.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_01]: But you think that you're consciously taking the action, because it's so almost instantaneous, that you think you're consciously taking the action when the exact opposite is true.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_01]: The actual action is being taken unconsciously, you're just becoming aware of it as split second later.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what confuses people.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that makes sense.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_03]: And this aligns perfectly with our I&T series and we teach people to slow down, right?
- 21:50[SPEAKER_03]: Because it's truly making you slow down and act consciously.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_01]: Right, right.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, I said that that 95% of your daily actions are unconscious, I would say through this method, it changes it from 95, 5, probably 70, 30.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_01]: You're still most of your actions are going to be unconscious, but that's not a problem.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's okay for the vast majority of your actions, but you know those things, those key intentions that you have for yourself and the way you want to be and what you want to accomplish in that type of stuff, that stuff you want, you do not want to stay on autopilot, you want to be in control of it.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_01]: And so when you do this, that's why it shifts
- 22:42[SPEAKER_03]: So you speak often about the scientific discoveries that most of that a person's achievement.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_03]: From your perspective, what should driven individuals understand about how the brain actually works and how this understanding can influence the way that they lead themselves?
- 22:59[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that's a great question.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_01]: Here's how the human mind works.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_01]: It's so simple.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_01]: Conscious mind sets your intentions and is influenced by logic.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_01]: subconscious mind controls your daily actions, or 95% of them.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: And as an example, let's say you want to lose weight.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_01]: Conscious mind sets the intentional lose weight, based on the logic of the health benefits.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_01]: But the reason people fail to lose weight is not from lack of intention.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's lack of influencing the part of their brain that controls their actions of eating and exercising.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_01]: And so you can see when you feed the succinct or articulation of your desire life to yourself every day, that's the repetition, the subconscious mind needs to make the right actions happen automatically without thinking.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's really pretty simple.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_01]: So, Greg, I want you to have the same epiphany that I had when I was 50.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_01]: And so, here's my question to you.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_01]: In your life, how many epiphanys have you had?
- 24:08[SPEAKER_01]: Were you learned something from somebody else and you've radically changed your life?
- 24:15[SPEAKER_01]: Call us.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I find that hard to believe.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_03]: I think they're probably, if I sat down and think about it.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_01]: We're really changed your life.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_01]: Not just sort of changed your life.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, like I've had poor in my life.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_01]: What, you and your mid-twenties?
- 24:33[SPEAKER_03]: I'm 51.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_03]: I think the biggest one was when I was 25, my best friend at the time, she since passed, she asked me why I was such a negative person.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that would, that could your attention wouldn't it?
- 24:57[SPEAKER_01]: I sure did.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, that's interesting.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and so it totaled how many of Piffney serve you probably had to this point in 51.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_03]: There's gotta be a handful of them.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_03]: I think one another one was when I was in high school, my mom,
- 25:17[SPEAKER_03]: told me the best advice I ever got was she told me never to talk back bad about anyone because you never know when they're gonna come back into your life right and later in life there was an awful times that people came back into my life and even now when I'm out you know meeting with clients or networking and someone comes in in my life I'm like
- 25:41[SPEAKER_03]: And maybe earlier in life, I didn't think the highest of those people, but I would never talk bad about that.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_01]: Well, like I said, I've had four of those epiphanys in my life.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_01]: And so here is the piphany that I want you to get.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_01]: We'll get into this little deeper, but again, 95% of my daily actions are unconscious.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_01]: unconscious daily ancients.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's so simple, right?
- 26:15[SPEAKER_01]: And so do you believe that?
- 26:18[SPEAKER_01]: Do you believe that 95% of your daily actions are unconscious?
- 26:22[SPEAKER_03]: I really do.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_01]: I can see that.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_03]: So what are you doing about it?
- 26:29[SPEAKER_03]: Right now until I have this conversation with you.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_01]: Hi.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_03]: Nothing.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I would be too.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_01]: I get that.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_01]: You believe it, but you're not doing anything about it, and that's the problem.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_01]: And you, I want to show you something that's pretty cool.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_01]: This is new information, a lot of people.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 26:51[SPEAKER_01]: That 95% of the daily actions are unconscious.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_01]: And we live in this world where people throwing around statistics, you know, what to believe, what not to believe.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_01]: Let's say I have to chat G, B, T about this.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_01]: So it wants this.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_01]: G, are you there?
- 27:09[SPEAKER_02]: I'm right here, John.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, is ready to help.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_02]: What's on your mind today?
- 27:14[SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about success.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_01]: I understand that 95% of a person's daily actions are unconscious.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_01]: Is that really true?
- 27:26[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely, less dive into that.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_02]: Pretty widely cited, IDNs, ecology that a huge chunk of what we do day to day is on autopilot.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_02]: Some studies do say a rally ID 5%, it's not an exact number set in stone, but the general idea is that a big part of our habits and routines runs beneath the surface of conscious thought.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_02]: So it's a pretty good ballpark figure to work with.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_01]: And I understand that what's really going on is you take the action unconsciously and then a couple milliseconds later, you become conscious of it.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_01]: Is that right?
- 28:01[SPEAKER_02]: you've got it pretty much spot on.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_02]: That's exactly how a lot of neural scientists and psychologists explain it.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_02]: Essentially, your brain is running these unconscious scripts, and then your conscious mind catches up just a tiny bit later to sort of narrate or understand what you just done.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_01]: So you see, that's the key that the actions are being taken unconsciously, not in the control of your intelligence and intellect.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the problem because they're on autopilot and because your autopilot is is wired for survival, it makes all your actions fear based and reactive and so so does that make sense does.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_01]: So back to you.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so tell me about your morning routine.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_03]: Well, long goes off.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_03]: I get out of bed.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_03]: I use the washroom.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_03]: I brush my teeth.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_03]: I get in the shower.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_03]: I do my hair.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_03]: I do my makeup.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_03]: I get dressed.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_03]: I go downstairs and let the dog out.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_03]: I get my lunch and my water ready and I go to work.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_03]: step by step, and I do it all, it's autopilot in the morning.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_01]: Right, right.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's pretty similar to me when I was 50, you said I didn't do my makeup.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_01]: But, well, let's think about this.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_01]: So if you don't mind me being personal, rate your life on a scale of one to 10.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_01]: Like how would you rate your health today?
- 29:34[SPEAKER_01]: My health, I would give it a nine.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_01]: How would you rate your career?
- 29:40[SPEAKER_01]: 10.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_01]: And how would you rate your marriage?
- 29:45[SPEAKER_03]: 10.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_01]: Well, then then, you know, on the surface it would appear that just keep on doing what you're doing.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_01]: But think about this.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_01]: Your greatest asset is your intelligence and your intellect.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_01]: It is not controlling the thing that's turning your success.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_01]: And let me ask you this.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_01]: Do you think that you're your results in life, match your intelligence and your potential?
- 30:25[SPEAKER_01]: Are you reaching your full potential?
- 30:28[SPEAKER_03]: I would say I'm close, but I don't think I'm reaching my
- 30:33[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I can tell you're not even close.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_01]: Respectfully, you know, you're obviously very bright.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_01]: I say that sincerely, but the thing that you I think you now see that your greatest asset is your intelligence and that's not controlling your actions.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_01]: Watch what happens when you take control of those actions.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_01]: You know, because they're all on autopilot today, and there's things in your life I would bet in your marriage, in your health, in your career, that you have the intention to do, but you don't do consistently, right?
- 31:18[SPEAKER_03]: 100% degree.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and you know, this is what's interesting.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_01]: The difference between the average life and the exceptional life is doing your actions sporadically versus consistently.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: And it's just that simple.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_01]: And like I said, it like in my life, you pay as template.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_01]: I'm affirming like 50 things about very things about my life.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm moving those things from being on autopilot being controlled by my intelligence.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_01]: The key thing I want your audience to come away with is, is, you know, write your life on a scale of one at a time.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_01]: And if you keep on doing what you're doing, you can get the same results.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_01]: And but also if you're like Greg and everything is, is, you know, really high, think how much higher it could be if you really brought your intelligence into play here.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_01]: You know, whole new game.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_01]: absolutely.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: But I would say this, you've got to be in the 2% because, and I always just was for everybody, but it's not.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_01]: I had to learn that the hard way.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it took me six years of, of trying to teach it to people that weren't that, that driven.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_01]: And if, and once I've started
- 32:46[SPEAKER_01]: teaching it only to the two percent.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, they loved it every time.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_01]: They flock to it.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_01]: And so that was so enlightening.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_01]: But clearly you're in the two percent.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I just feel that about you.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, thank you, John.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_03]: There's areas of improvement that I can definitely work on.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_03]: And I think that
- 33:07[SPEAKER_03]: After I read your book and watch the video and take those 50 questions, I know that I'll be able to improve on those handful of areas that I can improve on.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and you know, think about this.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_01]: Just if I ask you, how do you create success?
- 33:26[SPEAKER_01]: How do you, what would be your answer?
- 33:29[SPEAKER_03]: I create success by.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_03]: helping others.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_03]: I'm more of a giver, and I know things will come back to me by being a good person and spreading positive influence.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_03]: I also manifest things that I want in my life, which is similar to what you're saying.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_03]: If you're saying 12 minutes a day, you're focusing, improving these things, then it's like the manifesting up.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_03]: It's kind of they're consciously putting it out there into the universe and working on it yourself, and it's going to come to you.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know, when somebody asked me, how do I create success?
- 34:11[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, well, it's considerably very simple.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_01]: I create immense clarity about my life.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly the person I want to be exactly what I want to accomplish.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_01]: and precisely how I'm going to achieve my clearly defined goals, and I feed that to myself every day.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_01]: And since 95% of my actions are in conscious, that's the reputation that subconscious mind needs to make the right actions happen automatically.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_01]: And so that's the message I'd like to give your audience, just think about this, the top book in the world I'm success is the secret is so simple.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_01]: Create immense clarity about your life and feed it yourself every day.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we're not splitting atoms here.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_01]: This is pretty simple.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe one, you know, final thing to share with you,
- 35:07[SPEAKER_01]: People, I think, well, the 12 minutes a day, this is another get rich quick scheme.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_01]: Well, not really, because like it took me two years to get my methodology approved at the McCombs School of Business.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm very honored that I teach there.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_01]: And it's rated one of the top five business schools in the country, Gordon and US News and World Reports.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_01]: You know, right up there with Harvard and Stanford,
- 35:36[SPEAKER_01]: And so the point of sharing that is, this has been vetted at the highest level.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_01]: And so what I maybe would like your audience to just think about is, how do I create success?
- 35:51[SPEAKER_01]: You're saying that you created basically through helping people.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's good, that's a view of it.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_01]: But if you go down a little deeper,
- 36:05[SPEAKER_01]: How do you really help people, and I think that most people are going to go, you know, how don't really have a way of creating success that I can articulate?
- 36:18[SPEAKER_01]: And that's a problem.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and if I go down deeper and how do I help people and specifically through our practice here at IU Business Advisors, where business advisors and we teach our smart management methodology, you've heard a smart goal specific measurable attainable relevance, timely.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_03]: Well, that's your noun.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_03]: How do you achieve it?
- 36:42[SPEAKER_03]: Well, you need the strategies and the tactics, the verb action to achieve it.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_03]: So that's what smart management is,
- 36:48[SPEAKER_03]: So, if I really peel it back and try and get that clarity, it comes down to being very specific, having measurements, making sure it's attainable and relevant timely, and all that we do in our lives.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I do know why I would say to your audience, you need a coach like you.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I look at it back on, I mean,
- 37:13[SPEAKER_01]: You know, as you get over, you get more, more lies.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_01]: And sometimes, just the person being having a different perspective, but I love coaches like you that are taking people and awakening them to things they don't see.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_01]: And think about this.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_01]: If they, if they saw the things you see, they'd already be more successful.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_01]: the input of someone from the outside because if it was already in your hand, you'd already be more successful.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_01]: And so to anybody listening, you've got to have a mentor.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_01]: And I bet you're great.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_01]: I just feel the intelligence of you.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_01]: And so they ought to take you up on your coaching.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_03]: Well, thank you, Johnny.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_03]: I appreciate that.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_03]: It brings us great joy to help people and businesses and spread that positive influence and right right for our listeners who want to make an impact what message or words of encouragement would you like to share with them to make a different positive difference in the world, especially those who feel that they're meant for more, but don't see the path yet.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know, maybe maybe a couple of things.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_01]: You'll find this interesting.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_01]: So about five or six years ago, I decided I was gonna show what I created to the topics for the world I'm success.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_01]: Whoever that he or she might be, just to see if there was anything similar to it, if there was any flaws in it, and I decided that Darren Hardy was that guy.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_01]: So I write a big check, I get Genge who I, my wife, who I found through using this method, and we fly it to Lawyer, California and spend three days with Darren and the moment comes to showing the template and really get into it with him and and he looks at him goes, John.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_01]: This is really good, but he says, people are not going to spend 12 minutes a day on this.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, how the heck can that be?
- 39:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's 25x my income, time magazine, hit a cover story on the science behind my methodology.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_01]: And we're playing the central concept of the top book, the world on success, people's lives.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_01]: And he has John, I've been in the success business a long time, and the dirty little secret about the success business is that more success is merely a preference, merely a preference for the vast majority of people, for 98% of the people.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_01]: He says, this is only for the two percent
- 40:17[SPEAKER_01]: is it was totally eye-opening because then I'm like, oh, I thought this was for everybody because everybody wants me more successful.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_01]: And I could have been more wrong.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_01]: And so what ended up happening is I'm like, okay, I'm gonna go find people like myself who are entrepreneurs making a couple hundred grand a year.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_01]: They want to go to netting a million.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_01]: So I go and I find people like that.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_01]: And I pull them in by giving them a money back guarantee that if I can't double their income within a year, I'll give them their money back.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_01]: Now, they had to be net making at least 200,000 hours a year.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_01]: And I would charge them like $20,000 and teach it to tell them over about six weeks.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_01]: 40 to one return on their money with a guarantee.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_01]: And it worked every time because it was pure science.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_01]: I never had to get anybody there money back.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_01]: But I, after doing it about a year and a half, I realized how unleveraged it was.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_01]: And so that caused me to write my book.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_01]: It also caused me to create an AI algorithm
- 41:35[SPEAKER_01]: We can customize the template to your unique life, or you got to do is answer about 50 questions and press a button in 10 seconds later, the template is customized to your life.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_01]: So it's pretty slick.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_03]: How can our listeners get access to that AI template be created?
- 41:54[SPEAKER_01]: Well, all they gotta do is go to vmissingsecret.org, vmissingsecrets.org, and Greg, I created a nine-minute video for your listeners that explains the full secret of thanking Grow Rich, and the science behind it and shows the template, and then if they like that, they can go by my book and that will give Max as to the temple.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_03]: perfect.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_03]: Well, we will share all that information in the show notes, John.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_01]: Good.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_01]: Good.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you so much for sharing your insight and your method and the secret and your commitment to helping people create lives to find by clarity, discipline, and purpose.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_03]: Your work shows success isn't accidental.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_03]: It's intentional, measurable, and deeply tied to how we influence ourselves in the world around us.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_03]: John, I am so grateful for you for being here with us today.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_03]: If our listeners want to get in touch with you, is your website the best way to do so?
- 42:58[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, or they can, my email is John and thinkitbeet.com.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_03]: We'll put that information in the show notes.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_03]: John, thank you so much for joining us.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_03]: I really appreciate you and all you do.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, thank you.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate it.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_03]: And to our audience, thank you for tuning into daily influence.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_03]: If it's spoke to you, please share it with someone who could use little positivity today.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_03]: And remember, small actions create big impact.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_03]: Keep showing up, leading, and growing one day to time.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_03]: Until next time, stay inspired and keep having a positive, responsible influence.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_03]: Bye-bye.
