- 0:00Welcome to The Closing Bell. We're starting today
- 0:02in Dubai, where Emirates Central Cooling Systems
- 0:05Corporation, you know them better as Empower,
- 0:08they just held their annual general meeting.
- 0:11And Corey, I mean, the major takeaway for investors
- 0:15was, well, certainly positive. Absolutely, Aljaneeb.
- 0:19The board approved a cash dividend of, get this,
- 0:22437 .5 million durhams for just the second half
- 0:27of 2025. This is all consistent with their promise,
- 0:30you know, to distribute 875 million durhams annually.
- 0:35Right, the promise. And it's a policy that's
- 0:38clearly supported by their just record -breaking
- 0:402025 performance. Wow. And those performance
- 0:44numbers, they are definitely worth highlighting.
- 0:46For the year ended December 31st, 2025. Yeah?
- 0:50Empower posted record revenues of 3 .42 billion
- 0:54dirhams and, get this, a net profit crossing
- 0:58the billion dirham mark for the very first time.
- 1:01It's a performance that really speaks to a robust
- 1:03strategy. The chairman, His Excellency Saeed
- 1:07Mohammed Altair, he put it so succinctly in his
- 1:10earlier remarks. He said, and I'm quoting here,
- 1:13Empower's consistent profitability reflects the
- 1:16strength of its business model and the efficiency
- 1:19of its operational strategies. Yeah, and during
- 1:22the meeting, he actually expanded on that. He
- 1:25stated, Empower's strong performance reflects
- 1:27the strength of its business model and the efficiency
- 1:30of its operational strategies. Okay. Underscoring
- 1:33its ability to deliver sustainable value to shareholders.
- 1:36And then he went on. The company continues to
- 1:39strengthen its position as a key partner in developing
- 1:42Dubai's district cooling ecosystem. Right. The
- 1:45ecosystem. By expanding its services and enhancing
- 1:49operational efficiencies. And that connection
- 1:51to Dubai's development, that's just so crucial.
- 1:55The CEO, His Excellency Ahmed bin Shafar, he
- 1:58also commented on this symbiotic relationship
- 2:01between the city's growth and the company's.
- 2:04He said, and I'm quoting here, Dubai has witnessed
- 2:07a construction boom that has opened broad opportunities
- 2:10for investment and business growth. Right. A
- 2:13massive boom. Exactly. This momentum has led
- 2:16to increased demand for district cooling and
- 2:19energy services. And creating new investment
- 2:23opportunities in the utility sector. So the story
- 2:26is pretty clear, right? You have a booming city
- 2:29creating this immense demand, and then you have
- 2:31a highly efficient, world -leading provider like
- 2:34Empower just perfectly positioned to meet it,
- 2:37and in turn, delivering exceptional value back
- 2:40to its shareholders. I mean, it's a textbook
- 2:42case of astrology meeting opportunity. Now, here's
- 2:46a question maybe for our listeners to think about.
- 2:49As cities worldwide continue to grow and, you
- 2:52know, face rising temperatures. Yeah. Just how
- 2:55critical will utility models like district cooling
- 2:58become? And not just for investor returns, but
- 3:01for, well, for sustainable urban living itself.
