- 0:00My name is Terry Messenger and I am hey, hey, hey and welcome,
- 0:08welcome to Terry Messenger's Genius Zone.
- 0:14And you know, this is the place in the space where you are going
- 0:19to get your own free master class.
- 0:24Absolutely free. Hey, hey, hey, and welcome.
- 0:34Welcome to this week's edition of Terry Messenger's Genius
- 0:41Zone. So this is all about the
- 0:43simplicity of being awakened to the full circle of life, death
- 0:50and success. And I don't know about.
- 0:52You guys, but I tend to struggle a little with the word death.
- 0:58You know, it may be because I haven't had a lot of, you know,
- 1:04experience in this where I've been touched by it, but you're
- 1:08going to see the journey of, you know, life and death and and
- 1:14your success in a whole different way by the time you
- 1:20finish this episode. So this is going to be
- 1:25incredible. And Vanessa, the beautiful lady
- 1:28I'm about to bring on board, this lady, Vanessa Pereira, she
- 1:34is an incredible woman who really looks up to the greats
- 1:40such as Neville Goddard. And so that spirituality that
- 1:44she has mixed with that natural inborn intelligence and her way
- 1:52to be able to see life through a different lens and bring you
- 1:58into that real fulfilment of life.
- 2:02And what's a bet? You might just find the missing
- 2:07link. And if you're feeling like
- 2:09something is missing, what to bet you might find it.
- 2:14So with no further ado, I bring you the beautiful Vanessa
- 2:19Pereira. How are you, Vanessa?
- 2:22I'm doing really well. Thank you.
- 2:24Thank you for having me. It is an absolute pleasure.
- 2:28And whereabouts in this world are you?
- 2:31I'm in Toronto. It is bright and early.
- 2:34It's 8:00 AM now, so yeah. Wow, that's amazing.
- 2:41So you know you are really going to expound on beliefs in this
- 2:47episode. And it's interesting how beliefs
- 2:51shape our reality so much. But what I wanted to do is I
- 2:56wanted to kick off by a little closed eye meditation so that we
- 3:03could really ground in because I love to do this with all the
- 3:08incredible gifted coaches, healers and leaders that come
- 3:11onto the show. But I'm going to ask everyone to
- 3:15experience this. So if you just put your feet
- 3:18flat on the ground, I want you to take a deep breath in through
- 3:23your nose, hold it at the top, hold it at the top and breathe
- 3:31out. Now this time what I'm going to
- 3:36do is I am going to ask everyone that is listening to this, who
- 3:42is going to hear this and experience this, to be invited
- 3:49to call in the greatest sensations of energy that would
- 3:55really lift you up and awaken you and bring you into this
- 4:00expanded awakened knowledge. So that you are going to take so
- 4:05much from this show. You are going to be so inspired.
- 4:09So it could be feelings like confidence, fulfilment, peace,
- 4:15joy. So whatever they are, it could
- 4:18be love, laughter. I want you to set the intention
- 4:22that you're going to bring these in and call them in and take a
- 4:27deep breath in now, 123 in. Now as we breathe them in, we're
- 4:34going to expand it all the way through our body.
- 4:38And I want you to imagine as you exhale out, your whole body
- 4:44fills up with love and light and all of these energetic,
- 4:51emotional feelings that are so good and awakening your
- 4:57fascination, your curiosity and empowering you so that you are
- 5:02going to be able to listen to this show.
- 5:07You're going to be able to participate in this show.
- 5:10You are going to be able to completely expand to your
- 5:14fullest potential during this show.
- 5:17So one last deep breath and breathing in and hold at the top
- 5:26and breathe out and expand it all through your body and bring
- 5:31love and light. And thank you so very, very
- 5:35much. And so now with the first part
- 5:40of your story, you know, I always say on the genius side,
- 5:44there is always something that will link the person in with
- 5:52their zoner genius that by the time I get to know them, we do a
- 5:57full circle. It always usually begins with a
- 6:03point of time in our existence where something happens in our
- 6:08life that's very significant. And that can be a trauma, a
- 6:12loss, a a moment where we've been really, you know, faced
- 6:18with something that may have been life changing in one way or
- 6:23the other. But I want you to talk to our
- 6:27audience about the moment that you lost your father, what that
- 6:33meant for you. And, you know, beside the fact
- 6:37you were a young woman when it happened, it could have been a
- 6:41tragedy in in many people's eyes, the way that you see it
- 6:47now. So over to You Beautiful lady.
- 6:51Thank you. Yes, I was 32 when my dad passed
- 6:55away. He had two different types of
- 6:57cancer and I was with him the moment he transitioned.
- 7:03So I was the only one among. I have such a huge family and it
- 7:07just so divinely happened that I was that person to be with him.
- 7:11And I don't really know what happened at on that day, but now
- 7:17looking back, I'm 40 now. So eight years have gone by, and
- 7:21each year I've just expanded my relationship with grief.
- 7:28I love talking about it, and I love that we're diving into it
- 7:32today. So in that moment on that day, I
- 7:37did have a spiritual awakening, but I didn't know it at the
- 7:40time. And the day after, literally the
- 7:43day after he passed, I started asking the question of why am I
- 7:46here? What is my purpose?
- 7:48What is this life mean? We're all going to die.
- 7:52So what am I? What am I supposed to do for the
- 7:55rest of my life? You know, I just feel like I'm
- 7:57not doing something. I'm not doing enough or I'm not
- 8:02doing enough of what brings me joy.
- 8:06Like am I just going to go to work every day and come back
- 8:09like that doesn't it's not filling me in any way.
- 8:13And this is what my dad's death brought to me as a gift.
- 8:18And I just went down this path of what I now call self
- 8:22discovery. But at the time I didn't know.
- 8:24I was just trying to find answers that I started with
- 8:27traveling and just doing spontaneous things because I'm
- 8:30like, OK, well, maybe I'm going to die tomorrow.
- 8:33Like, I don't know. So let me just do, let me just
- 8:36do what I really want to do. And then I just started
- 8:38exploring doing what I really want to do and doing what lights
- 8:43me up. And I, you know, I just started
- 8:46doing these things that I never in my life before thought I
- 8:50could do. Wow, isn't that now?
- 8:53Isn't that incredible? And I, I really hear you and I
- 9:00am taking so much from that conversation because, you know,
- 9:06because you don't realize how precious life is and what is
- 9:12super important until you meet with this kind of a, a death
- 9:20experience through someone very close or you have, you know,
- 9:26something in your life. Like I, I'm this kind of person.
- 9:29I've always kind of worried about everything.
- 9:32You know, I'm just a serial worry wart.
- 9:35And, you know, since I have met with my most recent crisis,
- 9:41which is about my husband and, you know, his diagnosis, which
- 9:47is, you know, said to be fatally serious, I have changed the way
- 9:55that I view things, too. And even though there's that
- 9:59grieving, slow goodbye kind of thing happening within me, when
- 10:05I listen to what you just say, it resonates that now when I
- 10:09hear someone talking about a problem where usually I'd get
- 10:14rolled up, I'm like, huh, don't worry about it.
- 10:17You know, don't worry about it. You know, life's here to be
- 10:19lived. You suddenly it, it matures you,
- 10:22it kind of opens your eyes, It, it gives you this reality check.
- 10:27But I'm going to really borrow your beliefs here because you
- 10:31are, you know, someone I would say is a a very good authority
- 10:37on this. Plus you follow Neville Goddard
- 10:40so closely. And I would love to borrow your
- 10:44belief Vanessa on you know how I can turn and I'm sure I'm not
- 10:50the only one. You know, I, I always say I'm
- 10:52gonna speak for my listeners and all that, that are praying for
- 10:56you. How can I turn this thing around
- 11:01called death, You know, and, you know, sort of make it so gloomy
- 11:06and and so terrible. And if you can talk me through
- 11:10and what you said backstage about the birth and then the
- 11:14death and the cycle of life and, and just, you know, share how we
- 11:20can change our perspective on death.
- 11:22Mm hmm. Yeah, I think the first question
- 11:27I would ask everybody to, you know, just close your eyes and
- 11:30ask yourself, well, why do I celebrate birth but I don't
- 11:35celebrate death? And really just listen for the
- 11:40answer. And you'll notice, you know, in
- 11:42your everyday life. Like I have so many friends
- 11:45giving birth and clearly I have seen so many babies being born
- 11:50and we celebrate our birthdays every year.
- 11:52And but then on the flip side, you look at death and you know,
- 11:57in my culture, I'm, I'm Catholic and I'm also from a South Asian
- 12:01culture. And for us, death seems very
- 12:04like, it's like a, like a bad thing that you can't celebrate
- 12:08it. We can't be happy about it.
- 12:10We can't, you know, even the songs that are chosen are.
- 12:15It needs to be somber and it needs to be.
- 12:18It's quite interesting. That's what fascinates me is we
- 12:22do, we celebrate birth, but we don't celebrate yet.
- 12:25But really, I mean, this is no, I'm not saying anything that
- 12:31nobody knows. The fact is that we are born to
- 12:34die. OK, Like this is not revelation.
- 12:39I just have to pause you right there.
- 12:41Yeah, so. You can land We are born to die.
- 12:45Wow, that is a belief changer just in itself.
- 12:51Yeah. And I think that when you tap
- 12:53into that space, it's not about, you know, we are here having a
- 12:56human experience, right? How special.
- 12:59How amazing. And when we talk about, I talk
- 13:03about leadership all the time and I think people think that
- 13:06leadership is, oh, I need to have this, this, this X number
- 13:09of dollars in my bank account, titles this and that.
- 13:12But let's all be clear. We're all going to die one day,
- 13:16right? We're born and then we're going
- 13:17to die. We don't know when that date is
- 13:20going to arrive. We don't know nobody don't
- 13:25nobody can pinpoint. I mean, there's so many cases
- 13:28where you're healthy and then you're dead.
- 13:30You know you're sick and then you're dead.
- 13:32Like it's, it's no nobody. Look at Charlie Kirk boom, 31
- 13:37years old, you know, and living by the sword, dying by the sword
- 13:42shot in the throat. So many spiritual connotations
- 13:46around that one, and his legacy has multiplied.
- 13:52Yeah, and, and you can look at people on in, in the media, or
- 13:57you can also look at, you know, look at people in your own life.
- 14:00For me, it's my dad. You know, my dad was, he didn't
- 14:02come from money. He didn't have any titles he
- 14:05didn't like on paper. No, you would like he doesn't
- 14:09meet any of those criteria. But it is 8 years later now that
- 14:14he he has passed and people still come up to me talking
- 14:19about my father and talking about him in a way.
- 14:24You know, when we talk about legacy, I think people
- 14:27misunderstand that legacy means that you got to leave something
- 14:32tangible for your future generation.
- 14:35And to me, my father didn't have any of those things, but what he
- 14:39left was who he was. This is why I talk about, it's
- 14:43not about what you do, it's about who you are being.
- 14:47To me, that is what true leadership is.
- 14:50So when you step into work, when you step into your workplace,
- 14:54and we operate from this, knowing that, look, my life is
- 14:59so precious, but why? Why am I really afraid to speak
- 15:05up in this meeting right now? What am I really afraid of?
- 15:09Why am I really afraid to go after the thing that I want to
- 15:14go after? Because who cares, We're all
- 15:16gonna die. Why not do it?
- 15:19Why not do it? Did you hear that?
- 15:22Did you hear that, y'all? It's like the next time you're
- 15:25shrinking yourself back and not doing what you know, that you
- 15:32feel very cool to do, just say, what's holding me back?
- 15:36I'm going to die anyway. One day, I might as well live
- 15:40without any regrets. I absolutely love that.
- 15:43And look, I just have to say this too.
- 15:45When you were talking about what comes to mind, you ask the
- 15:49audience the question, what comes to mind when you think
- 15:53about birth and death? And and then you put us into
- 15:56that kind of a scenario where we're we're happy and joyful
- 16:00because we're celebrating, you know, you know, the birth of a
- 16:04new baby. And then we flip to the other
- 16:06side. Do you know the word that came
- 16:08to me? Selfish.
- 16:10And I say this with all due respect, but I'm going to speak
- 16:15from myself. And that is that I don't want
- 16:18anyone that I love to die. And when I think about it, it's
- 16:23just selfish because I want them to stay here on this face with
- 16:27me. But if we look at it from where
- 16:31you're coming from, you know, we, we are born so we can die.
- 16:36I mean, that changes everything. And you know, like you were
- 16:40saying to me also backstage that in some cultures, they literally
- 16:45celebrate it because, you know, they believe that they're,
- 16:49they're upgraded, which I mean, Christians, I believe that we
- 16:53are, we, we're going somewhere bigger and better than here on
- 16:57Earth. This is kind of just to practice
- 16:59rehearsal. And I think, you know, just one
- 17:04more point about grief. Look like I'm not saying that
- 17:07you just somebody dies and everything's let's just la di da
- 17:12and move on with their life. No grief is such a sacred to me.
- 17:16It is the sacred experience that I would never take away from
- 17:24anyone. But the point is that we don't,
- 17:28we don't witness that experience, you know, we just
- 17:32see somebody's dead, OK, Now my life has changed.
- 17:35I miss them. OK, fine.
- 17:37But that's just one part of the grief.
- 17:39But if we look at it from a different angle, if we look at
- 17:42it from everybody here comes into our life with a specific
- 17:48purpose and they are meant to be here for whatever time that is
- 17:53meant to be here. In my journey for me as an
- 17:56example, my dad was here there for zero to 32 years old of me.
- 18:02And what was he was meant to be here for a very specific purpose
- 18:07in my life at that point and same with whoever he touched in
- 18:11his life. But just because his body is
- 18:14gone does not mean his soul is not here.
- 18:18I dream about my dad all the time.
- 18:21I know that he's here. He's here right now.
- 18:23Like, you know, it's all he's in me as well, right?
- 18:27I am a product of him. And so it is having your own
- 18:32relationship with grief and not listening to what other people
- 18:37tell you about grief. I've been told, oh, shouldn't
- 18:40you be over it by now? Shouldn't what?
- 18:43How come you still talk about it?
- 18:45Like, shouldn't you be OK with it?
- 18:46It's been so many years. Don't don't laugh at the
- 18:51funeral. Don't play happy songs at the
- 18:55funeral. Be careful what you say at the
- 18:57eulogy. I wrote his eulogy and I and I
- 19:00spoke about it. That was my first speaking gig
- 19:04that I talk about in front of so many people.
- 19:07And what I wrote about him was unlike any other eulogy that
- 19:12I've heard because it it's not what I wanted it to be.
- 19:17I wanted this to be a celebration of this human being
- 19:23that is here in my life that was given to me as a gift and for
- 19:28nobody knows this, but my dad and I didn't have your typical
- 19:32father daughter relationship. So if you look at it again on
- 19:36paper, it's not like we were closed.
- 19:39It's not like we were best friends or anything like that.
- 19:42My relationship with him started after he passed.
- 19:46Wow, that is, that is special. I mean, that's legacy right
- 19:53there. And it sort of brings me to, you
- 19:57know, some of the gold Nuggets that you imparted with me behind
- 20:02the scenes. And I'm going to be paraphrasing
- 20:04them, but we talk about aligning.
- 20:09So you talk about the element of obviously your, you know.
- 20:14Even working with corporate people, people that are very
- 20:18logical people that are, you know, working 9:00 to 5:00, they
- 20:22have the house, they have the car, they have the children,
- 20:25they have all of the things, but they still sense there's
- 20:29something missing. And you said it yourself, you
- 20:33know, we are spiritual beings and we're having a human
- 20:37experience on this planet. But when you align your inner
- 20:40state, your consciousness with the vibration of that which you
- 20:46desire, and I know you'll be able to bring something of great
- 20:51value here, you bring heaven to earth as much as possible.
- 20:57Or the missing link, so to speak, of what quite often
- 21:02people are searching for and they don't quite know why it's
- 21:07not there or what's missing. And it's about, you know, you
- 21:11talk about it like it's an embodiment of awakening that
- 21:17truth. And you know, that's when
- 21:21success is really achieved through that embodiment.
- 21:25Can can you please share that? Because there's a lot of people
- 21:28out there that may be in the corporate world, they might be
- 21:31steering away from the spiritual component.
- 21:35But listener, you know it could be the very essence of what's
- 21:38missing in your life. Yeah, so I've been in corporate
- 21:43for 18 years of my career, and I reached a point a few years ago
- 21:50before I transformed. I reached the point where I said
- 21:53I actually said out loud to my boss, you know, I really can't
- 21:58be one way at work and then leave work and be a completely
- 22:02different person. Like it's too exhausting for me
- 22:06to come into work and have to wear a mask and pretend and be
- 22:10all buttoned up and, you know, be quote UN quote good and the
- 22:15good employee or perfect in whatever that means and then
- 22:19leave and finally feel that, oh, I've left the building to now
- 22:22wait. It's been I can be myself now.
- 22:25And I'm like, no, this is not right.
- 22:27I didn't know the answer, but I knew that it wasn't right.
- 22:30And that to me was my nudge. And the leader of the other end,
- 22:35she clearly, clearly we were not vibrating on the same frequency
- 22:39because she said, well, you know, some you just have to do
- 22:41that. Like, you just have to be one
- 22:44way at work and another way outside it.
- 22:45That's how it is. And I knew, even though she was
- 22:48a leader, I knew not to listen. And I knew that she was wrong.
- 22:54So then I went down a path, I got myself my own coach and
- 22:59really all the work that we were doing.
- 23:02And what now I impart with my clients is this work around all
- 23:09of the shame and the self judgment and the guilt that we
- 23:14walk around with, right? So for me it was why do I care
- 23:20so much about what other people are thinking?
- 23:23Even when I know it doesn't sit well with me, I still do what
- 23:29they want. And in our corporate
- 23:31environment, we feel like we cannot be ourselves, our true
- 23:35selves, which is why topics like authenticity, topics like how to
- 23:42deal with your inner critic, topics like self doubt,
- 23:45everybody's Googling those because everybody wants to,
- 23:49everybody's craving that because they, I have heard this from so
- 23:53many of my clients. They come in, they say, oh, I
- 23:56have to be like this at work. But then when I'm outside of
- 24:00work, I can, I can be myself. But why do we need to choose?
- 24:04Why do we need to choose? Absolutely.
- 24:08It's it's almost like being a jack-in-the-box, you know, mm,
- 24:13hmm. You, you're holding that big
- 24:15piece of yourself back. And you know, so guys, if you're
- 24:20asking yourself the question, why do I feel like something is
- 24:25missing? Well, that was the question that
- 24:27Vanessa asked herself. And you know, if you're
- 24:32thinking, well, I really should have it all together and you're
- 24:38putting expectations on yourself, I think that causes a
- 24:42lot of the hollow feeling. And of course, the comparison
- 24:46art is true. So if we're looking at the
- 24:48Joneses who look like we're living the life, they've got the
- 24:52children, the fancy car, the fancy home, and then we, we're
- 24:57feeling like, oh, we're not taking into consideration all of
- 25:02our incremental wins. And I'm going to get you to open
- 25:05up on this because this is your topic.
- 25:08Then all as we're doing is we're putting in our, our, our firing.
- 25:12We're putting ourself in the firing line for something that
- 25:15is so self sabotaging. So talk to us about celebrating
- 25:21the incremental wins and why integrating them is so vitally
- 25:28important. Yeah.
- 25:31So I just want to touch on one, one thing you said just before,
- 25:35maybe throw a little nugget to the audience.
- 25:38When you see someone like the Joneses, when you see them have
- 25:43whatever it is that you desire inside of you.
- 25:47All that means is that it's available for you and the
- 25:51universe, God, divine source, whatever you name you want to
- 25:54give it doesn't matter the name, but that is a sign, a direct
- 25:59sign for you to know that it's available for you.
- 26:03Because if they have it, I can have it.
- 26:05It's already here. Oh, you know.
- 26:10That is, that is so, so, so powerful.
- 26:13And I think how many people do we know anyway that fall into
- 26:16the trap of then envy, you know, and envying instead of seeing it
- 26:23as being joyful for them. And if you can see it, then it
- 26:28is in you. And I know you're going to talk,
- 26:31you know, us through this as we go through this sequence because
- 26:37this is about knowing that everything that we truly want is
- 26:41already within our grasp. But I'm, I'm going to wait for
- 26:44Vanessa to lead us through that very powerful conversation.
- 26:49So yeah, why is incrementally integrating all our wins so
- 26:56important? Yeah.
- 26:58You know, I think, and again, I'll just take it back to
- 27:01corporate and my experience with corporate and what I've seen is
- 27:05that we don't, we don't track our wings.
- 27:08We wait for that big milestone. We wait for all.
- 27:12Let me wait until the product is launched.
- 27:14Let me wait until I've done a big project.
- 27:16Let me wait until I've done this big, grand, masterful thing.
- 27:20And then, then maybe I am worthy of celebrating all my hard work.
- 27:26You know, we use these words and I think for me in my, in my
- 27:31coaching with my clients, I'm very careful about the words
- 27:33that we use. So I'm always nitpicking the the
- 27:36word, so I will cut the mid sentence to say why.
- 27:41What is this word mean to you? You know when we say the word
- 27:44hard work, I need to work hard and I've worked hard.
- 27:47What are you making that mean about yourself?
- 27:50That if I work hard, then now I'm worthy?
- 27:53What about somebody who doesn't need to work hard?
- 27:55And what if they just attract everything to them very
- 27:59seamlessly, very easily? Now you're jealous, Now you're
- 28:03envious of them because they didn't work hard.
- 28:06Like, I think these are all the nuances of why this work is so
- 28:10deep. So when what I practiced with
- 28:15what I get my clients to practice and to get good at is
- 28:20when you're doing the embodiment work, an embodiment just means
- 28:23whatever we do in our coaching session now you're going to take
- 28:25it out into the real world and you're going to practice.
- 28:29And when you practice, maybe it's going to work and maybe
- 28:32it's not going to work because this is not a linear work.
- 28:36It's not do this and then this will happen.
- 28:38This is try this, see how you feel, see what comes out of it
- 28:43and see your reactions, how you respond.
- 28:47It's a whole jumble of things. It's not a linear path.
- 28:50And so every session I start the session saying, what are you
- 28:54celebrating most about yourself this week?
- 28:57And my clients will just come in saying, you know what?
- 29:02I did something for the first time this week.
- 29:06I responded differently this week than I ever have before in
- 29:10the same situation. But now I didn't freak out.
- 29:13I didn't have anxiety, I was calm.
- 29:17They said this to me and I didn't make that mean anything
- 29:20about myself. I asked my husband to help me
- 29:24with the chores for the very first time and he helped, you
- 29:29know, so it's so simple. I think we think that wings are
- 29:33something you have to do something grand.
- 29:35And I always thought that as well for myself.
- 29:38And so then I was looking at my life and like, oh, well,
- 29:41obviously I'm not winning because nothing big is
- 29:42happening. But when I started to do this
- 29:46practice for myself, like I have AI, have books, I did once a
- 29:51challenge for myself where every Sunday I would write my wings
- 29:55for the week and I did that for 100 weeks in a row and I would
- 29:59love. You write, you write Your what?
- 30:02My wings for the week. Oh, wow.
- 30:04OK. Oh, so you rejected it?
- 30:07You actually wrote the wings that you hadn't yet had, but to
- 30:12call them in. Wow.
- 30:14OK. No, no, I wrote the wings that I
- 30:20that happened to me during the week, but my wings that I track
- 30:24are not your big. They include that, but they're
- 30:28also in the small micro moments. And that's really what I teach
- 30:32my clients is it's not about the big wings.
- 30:36Sure, count those great. It's about the small micro
- 30:40moments. And when you start to track
- 30:42that, you will actually see how much you are progressing because
- 30:45we're so focused on the end state or this goal, but we don't
- 30:51focus on the progression or how we are progressing and how do we
- 30:57track our wins in the progressing stage of where we
- 31:01want to be, You know, And that's really what we do.
- 31:05And I had this challenge for myself and I did it for 100
- 31:08weeks in a row. And I would love for the
- 31:10audience to try it, even just for one week and see how much
- 31:15you can write on your paper. Little wings, even if it was
- 31:20that you smiled at your next door neighbor who you couldn't
- 31:24stand and you did it anyway. Which leads me to saying this,
- 31:29because all of this is the gold that I was able to extract from
- 31:34this beautiful lady. You know, you've talked about
- 31:38obviously the the birth and death cycle.
- 31:43You've talked about the spirituality, you've talked
- 31:46about, you know, the these incremental wins.
- 31:52And also you've talked about the power of language and how you do
- 31:59pick up your clients and you really do ask them what that
- 32:05means for them because it is the words that you speak.
- 32:10Your words are your wand, and it is your words that shape your
- 32:17reality. So when it comes to then,
- 32:21because I know you keep your clients accountable and I would
- 32:26love to know about the activation process, which you
- 32:31beautifully call embodiment. So let's talk about embodiment
- 32:37and how that practice is so powerful for people that really
- 32:43want to feel that that level of fulfilment.
- 32:47Yeah, so I'll share a story in my own experience.
- 32:52I went down this path of doing self help and I did therapy and
- 32:57I did, you know, I listened to all the podcasts of all the
- 33:00greats and then I read all the books and I was doing doing all
- 33:07the things that that, you know, that were told to me that, yeah,
- 33:13if you do these things, then your life is going to change.
- 33:17But my life wasn't changing. You know, I was just repeating
- 33:20the same patterns and the same cycles.
- 33:22And sure, maybe I made a little bit of changes here and there,
- 33:28but essentially I was calling in all the same patterns in
- 33:32relationships at my work and outside of work.
- 33:36OK. And then I was like, why am I
- 33:39not able to move the needle? I'm doing all the right things.
- 33:44And then I got into, I got my coach and all the work that we
- 33:49did together had nothing to do with doing anything.
- 33:54There were no checklists to do. There were no exercises.
- 33:57There were no anything. It was all about like I always
- 34:02talk about looking at your beliefs, looking at how much
- 34:06shame you are holding on to yourself.
- 34:09We work on it in coaching and now embodiment happens the
- 34:13moment you leave the coaching session.
- 34:17So let's say we end our coaching session.
- 34:20Now you have to go to work, Now you have to take a meeting.
- 34:24Now you have to have a conversation with your friend.
- 34:26Now you have to go on a date, maybe whatever the case is.
- 34:31And that's where embodiment happen outside the coaching
- 34:35session. Take what you learned, right?
- 34:39Knowledge is just knowledge. Knowledge is actually not power.
- 34:42Knowledge is just knowledge. Power is when you take the
- 34:45knowledge and you actually apply it.
- 34:48You can read a book. You can.
- 34:50I've read Atomic Habits, right? Everybody I think has read that
- 34:53book. It's a great book, love that
- 34:56book. But you just read the book,
- 34:58nothing's going to happen. You got to read the book, take
- 35:01something out of the book and do it, apply it and then see it.
- 35:06That's a very simple example, but with coaching it, OK, now
- 35:11I'm in a meeting and am I going to speak up now?
- 35:15Am I going to speak up? Am I going to face my fear and
- 35:18maybe ask one question? Am I going to do something,
- 35:21maybe just micro shift that is different than how I was
- 35:26operating before? And let's say I do it, you know,
- 35:30and let's say it doesn't. Let's say there was pin drop
- 35:33silence in the meeting. Now I come back to my coaching
- 35:36session the following week with my coach, and that's a win.
- 35:42That's a win that I'm going to call out because I'm going to
- 35:45say, you know what? I spoke up for the very first
- 35:48time in a room full of leaders and nobody said anything.
- 35:52But I don't care because I spoke up and I did the hard thing and
- 35:57I faced my fear. And to me that's a win.
- 36:00That's a huge win. I don't care what anybody else,
- 36:04you know, I don't care what the outcome is.
- 36:06I don't care what the outcome is.
- 36:07But that was my win. And that is embodiment.
- 36:10And then we practically do it once and then we start to do it
- 36:13again, and then we start to do it again.
- 36:15And then next thing you know, it's just a part of this is now
- 36:19my life. This is who I am.
- 36:21This is how we transform. Transformation is not some big
- 36:26grand reveal red carpet. Look at me, I transformed.
- 36:30Transformation happens through the small micro moment in the
- 36:34shift. Even just listening to someone
- 36:37where maybe before you didn't listen to me, there is a huge
- 36:42win in shifting your way of being.
- 36:46So many so many things that I could say, but these are just
- 36:49some examples. I'm, I'm hearing you, girl.
- 36:51I'm hearing you. I mean and, and what I'm really,
- 36:55what I've taken in and and really learnt from you is that
- 36:58this is not about performing at. All.
- 37:01You know, I think we all go out there burning ourself out and
- 37:05hustling like mofos just wonder why we're not achieving the big
- 37:11thing and looking for the big, you know, Nirvana or the big pot
- 37:15of gold on the other side. But we're really missing the
- 37:19moment. And you know, when you come back
- 37:21to your spirituality, 2 of what's really important in life,
- 37:27I, I think that's when that full spring can really come from
- 37:32within. And I can't wait to, to really
- 37:35pick your brains in a moment and find out about, you know, all
- 37:41these things, 'cause I know so many people in, in my community,
- 37:45they're constantly putting things out there on their vision
- 37:47boards. They're they're constantly the
- 37:51goal that they can't achieve and then beating themselves up year
- 37:55after year because they haven't got it.
- 37:58But Vanessa is going to talk about that in just a moment.
- 38:01However, I wanna just echo what you've said about, you know,
- 38:08really living it, embodying it, becoming it and understanding
- 38:15that success is not about the performance.
- 38:19It is about the beingness and with or without the external
- 38:26validation, which is what you just said.
- 38:28So if you went to your boss and you laid your cards down on the
- 38:33table and you spoke your truth, but then you didn't get your
- 38:37way, that is when that's what you want, right?
- 38:42Am I right in saying that? Absolutely yes.
- 38:46That's amazing so honor the process, track the micro wins
- 38:51and celebrate, you know the the growth daily.
- 38:55So let's talk about now activating our identity and how
- 39:02you help rewire people who are looking for their so-called
- 39:09dream goal. But let's make a, a very big,
- 39:15hard, arduous story and make it short and sweet and your
- 39:22favorite word, which is simple. And I'll get open up on the
- 39:28simplicity. And then it's bound on, you
- 39:33know, what we're putting out there and why we've got it all
- 39:37wrong. Mm Hmm.
- 39:39Yeah, and I know you mentioned Neville Goddard.
- 39:43He's, he's just a very fascinating man that I have
- 39:48listened to over the years. And his teachings are just at
- 39:55the end of the day, very simple. If you ever listen to him,
- 39:58they're very simple, but it's very profound.
- 40:02And you almost look at yourself and you wonder, you know?
- 40:07It is actually very simple. All the things are very simple.
- 40:11We make it complicated and you're here right now.
- 40:15This is what I walked through with, you know, my clients, this
- 40:18exercise of here's where you are right now and here's where you
- 40:22desire to be, whatever that state is, your desired state.
- 40:26And then it's a bridge that you know, the line between here and
- 40:31here is the gap or whatever word you want to use.
- 40:34I call it a bridge. And what's lying under that
- 40:37bridge is all of your doubts, your worries, your
- 40:41procrastination, your comparing, comparing yourself to others,
- 40:49judgment, shame, guilt, perfectionism, tendencies.
- 40:54I need to be busy in order to be productive.
- 40:57All of these are lying in that bridge.
- 41:00And so if you want to be here, this is nowhere far.
- 41:04Like this is not weeks, months, years.
- 41:08Oh, it'll take me years to get there.
- 41:10No, no, like let's just squash that right now.
- 41:15I changed my life within less than three months of me working
- 41:20with my coach. Like literally the instant I
- 41:22started working with her, I started to notice things shift
- 41:25around me. So let's just squash the belief
- 41:28that you have that says it needs to take a long time for you to
- 41:33get to your desired state. It doesn't.
- 41:36It doesn't need to take a long time.
- 41:37That in itself is a belief that we can look at, right?
- 41:41And really all the work that needs to be that that we do is
- 41:45unlearning all of these things that we tell ourselves.
- 41:50Of course, it's ingrained in us through our upbringing.
- 41:53It's ingrained in us through society pressures through social
- 41:56media now. And you almost don't know what
- 42:00to believe, who to believe. And that in itself can feel
- 42:03overwhelming. But everything is all if you
- 42:08desire it, it is meant for you to have.
- 42:13You cannot have a desire if it is not meant for it to be
- 42:17available for you already. And that's the single biggest
- 42:22thing that I carry with me every day.
- 42:25And that's what keeps me going. Even if I don't see it tangibly
- 42:30in my reality right now, that doesn't mean it's not available.
- 42:35And this is where we connect from our earthly sort of logical
- 42:39brain and we connect it to the spirituality, right?
- 42:45And it's really looking at how big and how expensive this world
- 42:52actually is. But our thinking sometimes is so
- 42:56limited. You know, our thinking can be
- 42:58like this. And when we do the work in
- 43:01coaching, we expand the thinking.
- 43:04So, you know, then your thinking becomes like this, like this.
- 43:08And then next thing you know, oh, there are no limitations.
- 43:12I started like this. I started like this thinking
- 43:15that, oh, there's only one way to do this thing.
- 43:17If I don't, if I don't do it this way, then it's not going to
- 43:22work. Like, I don't know, there's no
- 43:24other way. And now I'm literally here.
- 43:27Now it's like, oh, you're going to tell me, no, it's OK.
- 43:30It's going to come to me another way.
- 43:32There is an infinite number of possibilities for me to do
- 43:36whatever it is that I desire to do, and I have experienced
- 43:39miracles in my life. I'm talking miracles of things
- 43:45that I never thought were possible, and it just comes to
- 43:47me in other ways because I'm open.
- 43:53I'm detached from a specific outcome of the way it needs to
- 43:57be. I don't force anymore.
- 44:02I've learned to take action from an aligned place, not from a oh,
- 44:08I need to do this because if I don't do it, then it won't
- 44:11happen. And there's a chasing energy
- 44:15inside of us. So it's not about doing less
- 44:19doing more. It's not it's not not about any
- 44:22of that. It's about your vibration and
- 44:25the frequency that you pair with you everywhere you go.
- 44:29So if I, I was in corporate and I was not a leader, I by title,
- 44:34right, Like I was in a leader, I was at your what you call some
- 44:40people call like the worker V level, the ground level,
- 44:42whatever you want to call it. But I was sitting in rooms where
- 44:46I was speaking up all because I started to open myself up and I
- 44:51didn't care what anybody. I would just say things with
- 44:54kindness, obviously. And I had people messaging me
- 44:58who were at my level. They were messaging me and
- 45:00saying thank you Vanessa, for saying this in this meeting.
- 45:04Because nobody, nobody says this like us, like us meeting at my
- 45:08level, right, Our level. Because only leaders say that
- 45:12kind of stuff. Only leaders challenge the
- 45:15status or say an opinion. Yes, yes.
- 45:21And that is? That to me is a leader.
- 45:23That is me embodying my leadership.
- 45:26Exactly, exactly. Rather than limiting yourself
- 45:31and, and, and you know, I feel that anybody that's listening to
- 45:36this that really wants the true, true, true gold of
- 45:42manifestation. If you haven't heard this entire
- 45:46broadcast, you've got to listen to it because it, it goes, it
- 45:50does the full circle of life, birth, death, to the way that we
- 45:56look at every single element of our life, what meaning we give
- 46:01it, where that meaning comes from, what that meaning actually
- 46:06means to you, right through to the practice of embodiment.
- 46:12And, you know, really celebrating those incremental
- 46:17winds, echoing what this beautiful lady has just spoken
- 46:21about right through to understanding that in actual
- 46:27fact that when we are vibrating at an element where we know that
- 46:34everything we desire is actually desiring us, it has that
- 46:40wonderful element of turning things around.
- 46:43And you know, I believe that brings me to, I feel that you've
- 46:47answered that question beautifully as far as, OK, well,
- 46:51maybe I'll challenge you as the last question here.
- 46:54But you know, you have a person and they want the life that they
- 47:00feel that they desire of maybe a majestic house and a majestic
- 47:05partner. And you know, all of those
- 47:09elements. What would you say to them?
- 47:13I would say they came to me saying exactly that.
- 47:16I would first get them to get clear on what is this majestic
- 47:21life that you want? I would make them get clear on
- 47:25give me some details of this. What does majestic you when you
- 47:30are taking a relationship, what kind of relationship are you
- 47:34looking for? Like give me details because I
- 47:38think we all say I want love and I want money and I want, but
- 47:42when I ask you how much money you want, you don't have a
- 47:46number or you get something happens inside of you.
- 47:49You're like, maybe this number is too much, maybe it's not
- 47:52enough. Like can I say this number?
- 47:55Like I've never asked for this number, you know, and we money
- 47:58is a whole other topic that we can talk about, right?
- 48:02But you notice that people say this.
- 48:04I want to be successful and I always doubt what does success
- 48:06mean to you? Yes.
- 48:09I want love. What does love mean to you?
- 48:13You know, so I think the first step.
- 48:15What does? What does majestic mean?
- 48:17I love the word, but what does it mean?
- 48:18Because my definition of majestic is different from your
- 48:23definition of majestic. And that's great, but we need to
- 48:26get clear. If you are not clear, then how?
- 48:30How will the universe listen? Because the universe is always
- 48:34listening and all we all our job is to get clear on our what and
- 48:39our why. What do I, what do I desire and
- 48:43why do I desire it? For what purpose?
- 48:45For what purpose in this big global space that we live in?
- 48:50The how it needs to get done is not my problem.
- 48:54The how is the universe's role. I just focus on my what and my
- 49:00why. And if we really tap into that,
- 49:04the how will work itself out. And I am living proof that this
- 49:08is how it works. It does not mean that oh, I'm
- 49:11just going to stay and now sit here and lie on the couch and
- 49:14not do anything. That's not what that means.
- 49:17It means that we Co create with the universe.
- 49:22So I come with my part and the universe will bring will bring
- 49:26its part and that is the connection.
- 49:29It's a Co creation. We are Co creating with the
- 49:33universe. And it's so beautiful when we go
- 49:36down this path and we start to see things come into our reality
- 49:42from this Co creation and then we see it and then we want to,
- 49:45you know, be be in so deep gratitude.
- 49:49I think gratitude is a practice that we can all get.
- 49:53We can all practice at a deeper level.
- 49:55It's not like, oh, I'm grateful for my family and my health and
- 49:58sure, but tell me something you're grateful for that it's
- 50:01not about your family, your friends, your pets, your, you
- 50:04know, tell, tell me, tell me something deeper.
- 50:09Are you grateful just for being? Are you grateful whether you
- 50:13lose your job or, or you have a job?
- 50:15Are you grateful if you're in a relationship or not in a
- 50:18relationship? Do you really love yourself?
- 50:20Like how grateful are you for this breath that is given to us
- 50:25every moment of every single day?
- 50:29That is absolutely beautiful. You know, you are definitely the
- 50:33manifestation queen. I'm going to say that because
- 50:37this is probably one of the deepest simplistic ways of
- 50:43discovering, you know, the easiest and the most spiritual
- 50:48way to really get what you want. And you know, the show just
- 50:53wouldn't be the genius zone if I didn't ask this final question
- 50:57because I know that you talk about speaking out.
- 51:02So I'm just going to put that out there.
- 51:04But if there was one last thing that you thought, oh, I would
- 51:09have loved to have said that to that person who is really,
- 51:13really needing to hear this. What would you say to them?
- 51:20I would say that it really is not about what you are doing and
- 51:26it's all about who you are being.
- 51:28And I promise you that if you are feeling stuck right now in
- 51:31your life for whatever reason, it's not because you're not
- 51:34doing enough. It's not because you need to fix
- 51:38yourself. It's not because you're broken.
- 51:40It's not because you're not worthy and lovable or unwanted
- 51:44or unvalued. It's none of those things.
- 51:49And this is the work we do in coaching.
- 51:52Yeah, that's that's. That's that is above coaching,
- 51:56that's mentorship, that's thought.
- 51:59This is this is what the genius zone is about.
- 52:02It's it's not just about expounding on what we coach.
- 52:06It's giving our audience the the real deepest gold Nuggets of why
- 52:13it's such a good thing to do that.
- 52:16And I just want to say from the very bottom of my heart, thank
- 52:20you so very, very much for being on the genius side and being so
- 52:25generous. And I just want to say, I know
- 52:29that you do really advocate for speaking out as well about what
- 52:35you want. So can we speak in any last
- 52:38words on that one? Yeah, you know, really there is
- 52:42nothing to be afraid of. And I, I look, look, I'm nobody
- 52:49special. I say that all the time.
- 52:52I don't have anything like special inside of me.
- 52:56But I went from being this shy little girl all the way through
- 53:02my 30s, still being shy and faking confidence and trying all
- 53:07those fake it till you make it mumbo jumbo that you know, they,
- 53:11they teach us. And I realized it's really not
- 53:14about any of those things. And it's really about
- 53:17discovering who you are and feeling back all the layers of
- 53:20who you are. And then your voice is, will be
- 53:24your most powerful asset. And it's not about voice that
- 53:28like voice, I speak for the sake of speaking or let me be loud in
- 53:33this room. It's not about that.
- 53:35It's about I know who I am. I understand the value I bring
- 53:40and my word and I speak from that place not to make anybody
- 53:45listen to me or not to chase or not to look at me.
- 53:48And you know, it's not about that.
- 53:50That's not what we mean by voice.
- 53:52I can just step into a room and my voice speaks without even me
- 53:55speaking. It's my energetic voice, my
- 53:59energetic, energetic. Voice, I love that.
- 54:02Speak your truth and do it from the throat chakra.
- 54:06Vanessa Pereira, thank you so much for being on the genius
