Virginia Robert's Brother Says Congressman Jeff Crank Ignored Their Epstein Outreach (10/7/26) · The Vault: The Epstein Files

Speaker 1: What's up everyone and welcome to another episode of the
• 0:03
Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. Now that election season is fully underway, I'm
• 0:07
Speaker 1: not shocked to see that some of these candidates are
• 0:10
Speaker 1: running Epstein-based ads. And out in Colorado, Jeff Crank, who
• 0:14
Speaker 1: is the Republican incumbent, is now under fire after Virginia's family,
• 0:20
Speaker 1: her brother and sister-in-law, appeared in a campaign ad for Mr.
• 0:25
Speaker 1: Crank's opponent. And according to Virginia's family, Mr. Crank ignored
• 0:31
Speaker 1: them and refused to meet with them. And now we're
• 0:34
Speaker 1: not talking about somebody that is, you know, a thousand
• 0:37
Speaker 1: miles away from their home. He's their representative. And according
• 0:42
Speaker 1: to them, he refused to meet with them. And obviously,
• 0:45
Speaker 1: we shouldn't be shocked by that, considering he's one of
• 0:47
Speaker 1: Trump's guys. And the message to everybody has been clearly
• 0:51
Speaker 1: sent that this is a no-go. This is not a
• 0:55
Speaker 1: topic that Donald Trump wants his people being involved in.
• 1:00
Speaker 1: but I told you that I was going to come
• 1:02
Speaker 1: back to bite some of these members of the GOP,
• 1:05
Speaker 1: and here we are. Today we have an article from
• 1:08
Speaker 1: the Colorado Newsline and the headline, Representative Jeff Crank Refused
• 1:12
Speaker 1: to Meet with Constituents Related to Epstein's Survivor, Family Says.
• 1:17
Speaker 1: This article was authored by Lindsay Toomer. Family members of
• 1:22
Speaker 1: one of the most prominent survivors to speak about late
• 1:25
Speaker 1: convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein denounced U.S. Representative Jeff Crank
• 1:31
Speaker 1: after he declined to meet with them. Like, imagine being
• 1:34
Speaker 1: a sitting congressman or senator or whatever and a family
• 1:38
Speaker 1: member of one of these girls wants to speak with
• 1:42
Speaker 1: you and you just ignore them. In this sort of environment,
• 1:46
Speaker 1: how could you possibly think that wasn't going to come
• 1:48
Speaker 1: back to bite you? How could you possibly think in
• 1:52
Speaker 1: this politically charged environment that there weren't going to be
• 1:55
Speaker 1: campaign ads made tying you to Epstein? And it's crazy
• 1:59
Speaker 1: that these folks don't understand. that this is a tabletop
• 2:02
Speaker 1: issue now. This isn't some issue that's on the back
• 2:06
Speaker 1: burner that people think about and then they're like, oh, well,
• 2:09
Speaker 1: big deal. No, that's not what this is. And there's
• 2:12
Speaker 1: a whole lot of people in the middle who have
• 2:15
Speaker 1: had their fill of the bullshit. And I think that
• 2:17
Speaker 1: we're going to see that reflected come election day here
• 2:20
Speaker 1: in the midterms. Sky and Amanda Roberts, brother and sister-in-law
• 2:24
Speaker 1: of Virginia, live in Colorado's 5th congressional district. They said
• 2:28
Speaker 1: at a press conference on Monday in support of Crank's
• 2:31
Speaker 1: Democratic challenger, Jessica Killen, that Crank, a Colorado Springs Republican,
• 2:36
Speaker 1: repeatedly ignored their requests to discuss the Epstein files and
• 2:40
Speaker 1: policy reform to support survivors of human trafficking and sexual abuse. Well,
• 2:45
Speaker 1: he got his marching orders, right? It's all a big hoax.
• 2:49
Speaker 1: That Epstein stuff, that's a big hoax, just like Russia.
• 2:52
Speaker 1: I mean, did these dudes actually think that it wasn't
• 2:54
Speaker 1: going to come back to bite them? I mean, it's
• 2:56
Speaker 1: all fun and games until that bill comes due. Leadership
• 3:01
Speaker 1: does not mean doing the right thing only after the
• 3:03
Speaker 1: pressure becomes too much to ignore, Amanda said. Leadership means
• 3:07
Speaker 1: standing up to what is hard when it's inconvenient, when
• 3:10
Speaker 1: it carries political risk, and when survivors are still waiting
• 3:14
Speaker 1: to be heard. The press conference came a day after
• 3:17
Speaker 1: Killen's campaign released an ad that featured the Robert family
• 3:21
Speaker 1: talking about their experience with Crank's office. And again, look,
• 3:25
Speaker 1: he has nobody to blame but himself. The GOP should
• 3:29
Speaker 1: do better. Their messaging has been horrible. They've unleashed the
• 3:33
Speaker 1: dogs of war when it comes to Epstein and the story.
• 3:37
Speaker 1: Attacking anybody who talks about it, calling it a hoax,
• 3:39
Speaker 1: calling people, you know, haters of Donald Trump, the whole thing. Meanwhile,
• 3:45
Speaker 1: you have real people who are affected by this shit,
• 3:47
Speaker 1: who have looked for help, and who have been ignored
• 3:50
Speaker 1: at every turn. And then you have this lady, Jessica Killen,
• 3:53
Speaker 1: who's running for office. She says that she cares and
• 3:56
Speaker 1: that she's going to do something to help out and
• 3:58
Speaker 1: that she's going to do something different. So if you
• 4:00
Speaker 1: were the family member of one of these girls, which
• 4:03
Speaker 1: side of the aisle would you fall on? And when
• 4:06
Speaker 1: you look at the independent voters that are watching this
• 4:09
Speaker 1: all unfold, you have to think that a lot of
• 4:12
Speaker 1: them are turned off by somebody like Crank ignoring the family.
• 4:20
Speaker 1: Roberts died by suicide in April of 2025 in Australia,
• 4:23
Speaker 1: where she had been living for several years. Roberts emerged
• 4:26
Speaker 1: as one of the most prominent victims after she challenged
• 4:29
Speaker 1: Epstein co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell and former British royal Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor,
• 4:35
Speaker 1: alleging they participated in her trafficking and sexual abuse. Not
• 4:39
Speaker 1: just challenged. Took Ghislaine Maxwell to court and won that shit. Okay?
• 4:46
Speaker 1: Ghislaine Maxwell lost that civil suit. And in fact, she
• 4:50
Speaker 1: committed perjury during it and was charged with perjury when
• 4:54
Speaker 1: she was charged with all the other crimes. Now, they
• 4:56
Speaker 1: dropped those perjury charges, obviously, to keep things a bit
• 4:59
Speaker 1: tidy when it comes to sentencing in the trial. But
• 5:02
Speaker 1: there's no doubt she was charged with perjury because she
• 5:05
Speaker 1: lied during the deposition. So I think it's a little
• 5:09
Speaker 1: bit more than just accused, okay? I think it's rather
• 5:13
Speaker 1: obvious that Jeffrey Epstein and Glenn Maxwell abused Virginia for years.
• 5:20
Speaker 1: Amanda said that Roberts' courage to speak about her experience
• 5:23
Speaker 1: came at an enormous personal cost. Survivors live with the
• 5:26
Speaker 1: results of elected leaders choosing to do nothing, Skye added.
• 5:30
Speaker 1: Their family advocacy seeks to protect future victims and hold
• 5:34
Speaker 1: perpetrators accountable. Well, to do that, we have to have
• 5:37
Speaker 1: politicians that actually give a fuck. We have to have
• 5:41
Speaker 1: politicians that aren't worried about what the party wants them
• 5:44
Speaker 1: to do. How about you worry about your constituents? To
• 5:48
Speaker 1: hell with the party. To hell with your echo chamber.
• 5:51
Speaker 1: And who gives a shit? You got to do what's right.
• 5:54
Speaker 1: But when it comes to these politicians, forget it. That's
• 5:57
Speaker 1: not why these people run for office. It's all about
• 5:59
Speaker 1: personal gain, personal benefit. Never about the community. Never about,
• 6:03
Speaker 1: you know, me and you. It's about them. And I
• 6:07
Speaker 1: think Congressman Crank certainly fits the bill. When we ask
• 6:13
Speaker 1: Congressman Crank to stand with survivors, we're not asking for
• 6:16
Speaker 1: a favor, Amanda said. We're asking for representation. We were
• 6:20
Speaker 1: asking for leadership. We're asking him to listen to the
• 6:23
Speaker 1: people he was elected to serve. Well, no, that's not
• 6:26
Speaker 1: how it works. It's all about what the donors want.
• 6:29
Speaker 1: It's all about what DC wants. It's all about what
• 6:31
Speaker 1: Trump wants. And all these people are going to dance
• 6:34
Speaker 1: to that tune because they're cowards. They don't want to
• 6:37
Speaker 1: stand up and take the fire. They don't want to
• 6:40
Speaker 1: be the guy that Donald Trump is tweeting about. How
• 6:44
Speaker 1: am I going to win my election? Meanwhile, you have
• 6:48
Speaker 1: constituents who have real concerns, real complaints, and whose sister
• 6:52
Speaker 1: was victimized by these madmen. You would think that that
• 6:56
Speaker 1: would be a priority. I mean, you would think that
• 6:58
Speaker 1: Congressman Crank would put the grift on hold for a
• 7:00
Speaker 1: minute and actually talk to them, even if he wasn't
• 7:03
Speaker 1: going to do anything, but to outright ignore them? You
• 7:06
Speaker 1: deserve everything you have coming towards you when it comes
• 7:09
Speaker 1: to your opponent campaigning against you. The family met with
• 7:15
Speaker 1: Crank's district staff in September 2025, and all messages they
• 7:18
Speaker 1: sent after that received no answer, they said. Their request
• 7:22
Speaker 1: for Crank's support came after they traveled to Washington, D.C.
• 7:25
Speaker 1: to push for the Epstein Files Transparency Act. They also
• 7:29
Speaker 1: told Crank's office that they met with U.S. Representative Lauren Boebert,
• 7:33
Speaker 1: a Windsor Republican, to thank her for signing a discharge
• 7:36
Speaker 1: petition to force a floor vote on the measure. And
• 7:39
Speaker 1: that was a pretty courageous move on Ms. Boebert's part.
• 7:43
Speaker 1: We see how it worked out for everybody else, but
• 7:45
Speaker 1: she's still standing. And look, I understand that people don't
• 7:49
Speaker 1: like her politics. I get it. But you have to
• 7:51
Speaker 1: give her credit when it comes to this. Because if
• 7:54
Speaker 1: she didn't sign that petition, then the discharge petition would
• 7:57
Speaker 1: have been dead. So we have to give credit where
• 8:00
Speaker 1: it's due. But as far as the overall performance by
• 8:02
Speaker 1: the GOP, it's been absolutely terrible. After a year without
• 8:10
Speaker 1: a response, Amanda on Monday shared a screenshot that showed
• 8:12
Speaker 1: Dennis Heisey, Crank's district director, laughed with a ha-ha emoji
• 8:17
Speaker 1: at one of her messages from September of 2025. Yeah,
• 8:20
Speaker 1: because they all think it's a hoax. They won't come
• 8:22
Speaker 1: out and say it, but that's how they feel. So
• 8:25
Speaker 1: my advice is keep all of this in mind as
• 8:28
Speaker 1: you head to the ballot box. And if you're in
• 8:30
Speaker 1: this district, remember that Mr. Crank's district director thinks it's funny.
• 8:37
Speaker 1: Crank did not sign the discharge petition earlier last year
• 8:39
Speaker 1: to force a floor vote, but he voted in November
• 8:42
Speaker 1: in support of the Epstein Files Transparency Act after President
• 8:46
Speaker 1: Donald Trump urged Congress to pass a measure. Trump had
• 8:50
Speaker 1: a well-documented relationship with Epstein. During his 2024 campaign, he
• 8:55
Speaker 1: promised to release the Epstein Files, but supporters of the
• 8:58
Speaker 1: president have criticized what they view as an incomplete process
• 9:02
Speaker 1: of releasing the documents under Trump. Killen said Crank, did
• 9:06
Speaker 1: not have the courage to do the right thing until
• 9:09
Speaker 1: Trump gave Republicans the green light. And she's right about that.
• 9:13
Speaker 1: All these Republicans that signed off on it when it
• 9:16
Speaker 1: was safe to do, they don't get credit for that.
• 9:20
Speaker 1: Credit goes to the four people that signed the discharge petition.
• 9:24
Speaker 1: That's where the real credit goes. So Mr. Crank can
• 9:29
Speaker 1: talk all the shit he wants and act like he
• 9:31
Speaker 1: was on board, but he was not. He knows he
• 9:35
Speaker 1: had multiple opportunities to release the files. That's been made clear.
• 9:39
Speaker 1: There were multiple opportunities and multiple votes before, basically, the
• 9:43
Speaker 1: administration's hand was forced, Killen said. That is a true
• 9:47
Speaker 1: account of history. That's exactly what happened. There's no dispute here.
• 9:51
Speaker 1: The GOP had its hand forced. Without that petition, none
• 9:56
Speaker 1: of this is out. An unnamed campaign spokesperson for Crank
• 10:00
Speaker 1: said in a statement that it's deeply unfortunate that Killen
• 10:04
Speaker 1: is preying on a grieving family. Oh yeah, that's exactly
• 10:07
Speaker 1: what's happening. What's really unfortunate is that Mr. Crank didn't
• 10:12
Speaker 1: have time for that family and that the people on
• 10:15
Speaker 1: your campaign thought it was funny and wanted to leave
• 10:18
Speaker 1: emojis instead of actually replying to the comment. Congressman Crank
• 10:22
Speaker 1: voted to release the Epstein files in the only up
• 10:24
Speaker 1: or down vote on the floor of the House of Representatives,
• 10:27
Speaker 1: the spokesperson said. The statements contained in this ad are
• 10:31
Speaker 1: intentionally vague, and are purposefully so, because the fact pattern
• 10:35
Speaker 1: does not support desperate lobbyist Jessica Killen's desired political attack. Well,
• 10:41
Speaker 1: did you or did you not avoid voting for the
• 10:44
Speaker 1: discharge petition? The answer is yes, you didn't do it, right?
• 10:48
Speaker 1: So you only got on board when it was safe.
• 10:51
Speaker 1: That's the message. That's what they're saying. And guess what?
• 10:54
Speaker 1: Like it or not, it's true. Skye at the press
• 11:00
Speaker 1: conference rejected the notion that Killen took advantage of his family.
• 11:03
Speaker 1: He said that he still has not heard. Crank directly
• 11:06
Speaker 1: acknowledged what his sister and other victims experienced. Jeff Crank
• 11:10
Speaker 1: diminishing the fact that we chose to come forward is
• 11:12
Speaker 1: an act against us, Skye said. When we came forward,
• 11:15
Speaker 1: we came forward by choice, not by force. Amanda said
• 11:19
Speaker 1: they chose to support Killen because she sat down to
• 11:22
Speaker 1: have a human conversation and meet us where we are.
• 11:25
Speaker 1: Too many politicians cover for Trump rather than delivering justice,
• 11:29
Speaker 1: Killen said, and Crank's part of that problem. Other Republican
• 11:33
Speaker 1: members of Congress met with Sky and Amanda, but Crank's
• 11:36
Speaker 1: refusal to meet with his own constituents is a complete
• 11:39
Speaker 1: abdication of his responsibilities. The election is November 3rd, and
• 11:44
Speaker 1: I think that's really where my beef is. These are
• 11:47
Speaker 1: his constituents... We're not talking about somebody who lives in,
• 11:51
Speaker 1: I don't know, bumfuck Idaho, hitting this dude up and saying, hey,
• 11:54
Speaker 1: I want to talk to you. These are people that
• 11:57
Speaker 1: live in your district, bro. Your job, I know this
• 11:59
Speaker 1: is going to be hard for you to hear, is
• 12:01
Speaker 1: to listen to their concerns. And since you didn't want
• 12:04
Speaker 1: to do that, somebody has swooped in and filled the gap.
• 12:09
Speaker 1: And I have a funny feeling that Mr. Crank is
• 12:11
Speaker 1: going to have a rough time come election day. So
• 12:13
Speaker 1: we're going to keep an eye on this race and
• 12:15
Speaker 1: we'll see if Mr. Crank's in action. comes back to
• 12:18
Speaker 1: bite him. All the information that goes with this episode
