- 1:03Speaker 1: time we were here to do the Last of Us
- 1:05Speaker 1: HBO blessed Us, but the episode is in advance, so
- 1:08Speaker 1: we were able to record this in advance, you know,
- 1:12Speaker 1: but this time not so much. I guess the DEI
- 1:15Speaker 1: initiatives are done and they just said whatever to good
- 1:20Speaker 1: old Fall Nerds because they straight up gave us the
- 1:23Speaker 1: gas space fan, I mean straight up said, now we're good.

- 1:31Speaker 1: run the number.

- 1:35Speaker 3: MAC shows.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Oh I forgot. I guess there ain't gonna be another
- 1:43Speaker 1: season of the wrap Up, right or whatever? What was
- 1:45Speaker 1: that joint?
- 1:46Speaker 2: Do you have? You have rap? Shit? You had insecure?
- 1:50Speaker 2: You had game theory with Jones?
- 1:53Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:53Speaker 2: You know what you are a portion of? You know,
- 1:56Speaker 2: an exodus over there.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Dog and not the Bob Marley song type either.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Nah. You hate to see it.
- 2:05Speaker 1: And you hate to see it. Yeah. Well so that's
- 2:09Speaker 1: why we're here live right now. But you know it's
- 2:10Speaker 1: a blessing and a curse, I guess because shout out
- 2:13Speaker 1: to everybody on twitch, dot tv, slash for all nerd,
- 2:16Speaker 1: shout out to all the people out there on YouTube,
- 2:18Speaker 1: everybody out there on the intern nets in general, thank
- 2:21Speaker 1: you for joining us. We're here, man, What did you
- 2:24Speaker 1: think of this episode of the Last of Us?
- 2:28Speaker 3: So, you know, I was pleasantly surprised when I missed
- 2:30Speaker 3: the show. I was ready to get back into this world.
- 2:34Speaker 3: I as always, you know, I'm obsessed with the writing
- 2:37Speaker 3: of stuff like this, because when I've experienced something in
- 2:39Speaker 3: one medium, it's always like, how y'all gonna tell this
- 2:42Speaker 3: story again, but make it different to the new medium,
- 2:46Speaker 3: so we're not just getting the same thing regurgitated, but
- 2:49Speaker 3: keep that iconic feel. And they found a balance in
- 2:53Speaker 3: this first episode that leaves of giving you some classic
- 2:57Speaker 3: moments from the game, and that grocery store is just
- 3:01Speaker 3: Chef's kiss, you know, the scene with the uh Stalker,
- 3:05Speaker 3: introducing that type of like and making the stalker a
- 3:08Speaker 3: little different than the game, like that that joint was tight,
- 3:12Speaker 3: and then the interpersonal conflict. I was honestly surprised they
- 3:16Speaker 3: put Abby in them in it early, because I thought
- 3:19Speaker 3: they were gonna do some you know, more like the
- 3:21Speaker 3: game where you get Abby a little later on and
- 3:24Speaker 3: you're like, oh, that's.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Who she is.
- 3:26Speaker 3: But they just put they pulled the They put Abby
- 3:28Speaker 3: right in the middle of the ship like, hey, she coming, so,
- 3:31Speaker 3: uh you know that's Abby.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Yeah, who's introducing the beginning of the thing? And we
- 3:37Speaker 1: who we see at the end of the episode.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Yeah, them people, we don't know.
- 3:40Speaker 3: I really didn't think they were going Maybe they just
- 3:43Speaker 3: feel like the story already out there, I don't know,
- 3:45Speaker 3: but they kind of remixed it in a bit, you
- 3:48Speaker 3: know what I'm saying, made it a little more chronological,
- 3:50Speaker 3: Like it don't seem like we're doing a lot of
- 3:52Speaker 3: going back and forth in time. It's just all straight
- 3:54Speaker 3: up like this is what's happening right now. So all
- 3:57Speaker 3: that to say, like, you know, I enjoyed it. The values,
- 4:01Speaker 3: the fact that we got more zombie and fighting stuff
- 4:05Speaker 3: right away.
- 4:07Speaker 2: I enjoyed all of that stuff.
- 4:09Speaker 1: M All right. Well that's the thing. Like I personally
- 4:12Speaker 1: have never played any of the games other than like
- 4:14Speaker 1: five minutes of one of them. I do know the
- 4:17Speaker 1: general story because I've read it, you know, on like Wikipedia,
- 4:21Speaker 1: et cetera. And I know most of the big twists
- 4:24Speaker 1: that are coming up this season and things that happen,
- 4:26Speaker 1: at least as far as the game, but as far
- 4:29Speaker 1: as the show. I was one of the people who
- 4:32Speaker 1: thought the first season was I enjoyed it, but I
- 4:36Speaker 1: was not looking forward to this season honestly because I
- 4:38Speaker 1: just have my limit of apocalyptic you know type things
- 4:43Speaker 1: that I can ingest at a.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Time and understood.
- 4:47Speaker 1: While I enjoy the last of us, I don't think
- 4:50Speaker 1: it's really doing anything different than any other zombie type
- 4:54Speaker 1: show or film that I've seen. And at this point
- 4:56Speaker 1: it's like, we really have genres of zombie shows. And
- 5:00Speaker 1: that's really wow because I'm one of them people who
- 5:03Speaker 1: is like, you know, early Walking Dead fan from the comic,
- 5:06Speaker 1: reading it early, you know, and to see the whole
- 5:08Speaker 1: zombie genres flowe the way it has, it's crazy.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Yeah, it is, it is.
- 5:14Speaker 3: I'm with you, like as far as just it's only
- 5:18Speaker 3: so much that you can take at a time. For me,
- 5:22Speaker 3: the Last of Us the game, especially Last of Us two,
- 5:26Speaker 3: might be my favorite game of all time wow, because
- 5:30Speaker 3: it's not. The thing about The Last of Us that's
- 5:33Speaker 3: different from all the other zombie stuff to me is
- 5:36Speaker 3: that it's actually a game that I like to call
- 5:40Speaker 3: an empathy simulator, Like it is a game about empathy
- 5:44Speaker 3: that tricks you when they're thinking you're playing an action
- 5:46Speaker 3: game and then you crying halfway through the game like
- 5:49Speaker 3: oh my god, you know. And I think a lot
- 5:52Speaker 3: of zombie stuff misses the mark with that because it
- 5:56Speaker 3: becomes about like how do you survive? Who could be
- 5:59Speaker 3: the most cruel to the next person, you know, your faction,
- 6:04Speaker 3: ganging up how you add to your numbers as opposed
- 6:07Speaker 3: to like YO, if a traumatic thing happens, it happens
- 6:10Speaker 3: to all of us, and what we do to each
- 6:13Speaker 3: other matters and counts, and it's just a matter of perspective.
- 6:16Speaker 3: I feel like the world needs this lesson right now.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Of like YO, it's a matter of perspective and empathy.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Changing.
- 6:27Speaker 3: When you change respective how you dispense empathy matters so much,
- 6:32Speaker 3: and who's your enemy and how you see them as
- 6:34Speaker 3: an enemy changes. So we won't Unfortunately, we won't get
- 6:39Speaker 3: to that stuff till the later part of this story.
- 6:42Speaker 3: And I hope people stick through because I think if
- 6:45Speaker 3: they nail the landing and it feels like the game,
- 6:47Speaker 3: I think it can be really compelling. But you're right,
- 6:51Speaker 3: zombie as a genre is so done and overdone. It's
- 6:56Speaker 3: like what vampires were in the two thousands is.
- 7:00Speaker 2: So many now. I can see people probably checking out m.
- 7:05Speaker 1: And I don't think so as far as checking out,
- 7:07Speaker 1: because Last of Us is a massive hit for HBO,
- 7:10Speaker 1: Like that's why they could just be like yeah, whatever,
- 7:12Speaker 1: kids and keep it moving as far as copy I hope, So, yeah, No,
- 7:16Speaker 1: they don't need the press. They don't need anything right now,
- 7:19Speaker 1: they're doing it. This show is their biggest hit, probably
- 7:21Speaker 1: since Game of Thrones, and they've already guaranteed the third season,
- 7:25Speaker 1: so we're not gonna get the result. And that's another
- 7:28Speaker 1: thing that I know, Like I remember when they first
- 7:31Speaker 1: announced it was like two seasons, you know, one for
- 7:33Speaker 1: the first game, one for the second game, and then
- 7:35Speaker 1: that money started rolling in and you know what happened.
- 7:37Speaker 3: So yeah, you know, as a writer, you know, I'm
- 7:40Speaker 3: always conflicted about that because like I'm smiling for them
- 7:45Speaker 3: writers though I be feeling good for them, Like, man,
- 7:48Speaker 3: what does that feel like?
- 7:49Speaker 2: It must feel so good?
- 7:50Speaker 3: And then like to get the flesh your story out
- 7:53Speaker 3: to be like, yo, let's explore this character we never
- 7:56Speaker 3: got to go into in the game and stuff. It's
- 7:59Speaker 3: just a matter of all right, we'll find out what
- 8:02Speaker 3: kind of people they are.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Are you doing it for the money and you.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Just cash grabbing us and you know you're gonna give
- 8:07Speaker 3: us a bad story and at the end and tell
- 8:09Speaker 3: us like it was all about the journey or are
- 8:11Speaker 3: you gonna be like no, no, no, Let's we get
- 8:14Speaker 3: some chance to space these stories out and live in them,
- 8:16Speaker 3: and we're gonna make a better show with longer episodes
- 8:19Speaker 3: than we would have with Shorter, So we'll find out
- 8:22Speaker 3: what kind of people they are if they truly do
- 8:24Speaker 3: something with these next two seasons.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Yeah, and that being said, this episode, I had to
- 8:31Speaker 1: say I enjoyed it overall. I did feel some of
- 8:34Speaker 1: the themes felt a little heavy handed, but at the
- 8:38Speaker 1: same time, I get it. You know, that's the type
- 8:39Speaker 1: of TV and it's hard not to do that when
- 8:42Speaker 1: you're trying to get a message across. It's a thin line,
- 8:44Speaker 1: you know, between being heavy handed and actually getting your
- 8:47Speaker 1: message across. Because like the idea that Joel wants to
- 8:50Speaker 1: fix things, you know, it's like pound it into you
- 8:53Speaker 1: this episode, and I get it. You know, Joel's a
- 8:56Speaker 1: fixer and he's trying to fix things, and themes are
- 8:58Speaker 1: pretty much broken, you know, irvocably broken between him and
- 9:04Speaker 1: uh Elli because Ellie doesn't like I like that. They
- 9:07Speaker 1: show that moment in the beginning and once again shout
- 9:10Speaker 1: out to Shorty. I can't remember the after's name playing Ellie,
- 9:14Speaker 1: but she kills it throughout this episode. Yeah, she's been
- 9:17Speaker 1: killing throughout everything. I mean, she goes back to Game
- 9:19Speaker 1: of Thrones being a monster, and like just her reaction,
- 9:25Speaker 1: you know, wordless reaction to Joel once again saying and
- 9:28Speaker 1: you know, we get an extended cut of her walking
- 9:31Speaker 1: away and everything, and it's like she knew right then
- 9:33Speaker 1: that that man was flying to her.
- 9:35Speaker 3: And like I said, in the game, they remix it,
- 9:38Speaker 3: so like you don't get that till like later in
- 9:40Speaker 3: the story that they even had that moment. So that's
- 9:43Speaker 3: what I'm finding so interesting about how they're telling the story,
- 9:46Speaker 3: because I think the story is it hits better in
- 9:49Speaker 3: the game with it being out of chronological order. Like
- 9:52Speaker 3: so you just hop into the middle of them they beefing,
- 9:56Speaker 3: and you're not really sure why they beefing you, okay,
- 9:59Speaker 3: because you play the first game, you had suspicions, but
- 10:01Speaker 3: you don't know. And that incident that you see happening
- 10:05Speaker 3: in the bar doesn't happen until much later in the
- 10:07Speaker 3: game when they're going back trying to explain the beef,
- 10:10Speaker 3: and so it being in the right order does kind
- 10:14Speaker 3: of complicate things. And what I feel like the director
- 10:17Speaker 3: is doing is really putting the show in the hands
- 10:19Speaker 3: of the actors. He feels like, I have some very
- 10:22Speaker 3: high quality actors. I don't need to do any magic
- 10:25Speaker 3: tricks or slight of hand. I'm gonna just show y'all
- 10:27Speaker 3: what happened, and their acting is gonna be so strong
- 10:32Speaker 3: you as an audience are gonna be compelled by the story.
- 10:35Speaker 3: You don't need a mystery. You just gonna go oh man,
- 10:37Speaker 3: that's tough. And I think with the therapy scene, it
- 10:41Speaker 3: definitely did that. Like when they zoomed in on his
- 10:44Speaker 3: face and he gave you the glory tears. I said, yeah,
- 10:48Speaker 3: that's that actor, dog, that's that act because he didn't
- 10:51Speaker 3: sob he didn't break character like he was still Joe.
- 10:54Speaker 3: And when his face stealed up, like he went back
- 10:57Speaker 3: to like, nah, I'm not gonna break down in front
- 10:59Speaker 3: of this woman. But I saved her and I'm not
- 11:02Speaker 3: like and I said, ooh, that that begun act. And
- 11:05Speaker 3: once again what you said when when the actress that
- 11:07Speaker 3: plays Ellie was given was giving you that that.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Like non verbal thing.
- 11:12Speaker 3: And they're doing this like two sides of the same
- 11:14Speaker 3: coin thing where like Joel is her and Joel are
- 11:18Speaker 3: so like father and daughter basically, like you see the
- 11:22Speaker 3: imprint of each other on them, and it breaks your
- 11:25Speaker 3: heart that they can't be you know that that they
- 11:28Speaker 3: can't be cool. You know what I'm saying that she
- 11:30Speaker 3: she has a right to not want to forgive him,
- 11:32Speaker 3: and he has a right to feel he was justified,
- 11:35Speaker 3: and it breaks your heart that they don't got it
- 11:37Speaker 3: together right now.
- 11:38Speaker 1: And like you were talking about the chronological order of things,
- 11:41Speaker 1: We're definitely gonna have some flashbats this season. Because I
- 11:45Speaker 1: was sitting there and I immediately had to go to Google,
- 11:47Speaker 1: like who the fuck is Eugene And when the hell
- 11:48Speaker 1: did Joel kill this man? And then I you know,
- 11:51Speaker 1: at least in the game, I know Eugene doesn't go
- 11:53Speaker 1: out like that, right, And that's a change from the
- 11:57Speaker 1: game that you know Joel does kill him, and so
- 12:00Speaker 1: we're definitely gonna see that. And I thought that was
- 12:02Speaker 1: a great scene as well, because the way the therapist
- 12:04Speaker 1: Dale just broke down on this man, you know, just
- 12:08Speaker 1: was like, look, I hate you, like I hate your guts.
- 12:11Speaker 1: I hope you die.
- 12:14Speaker 3: That joint was a haymaker man, because I was like,
- 12:16Speaker 3: because then the other part of that makes you feel like, damn, Joe,
- 12:20Speaker 3: you was just up in her house expected some therapy help.
- 12:23Speaker 1: All this over and over, like how many sessions they had.
- 12:26Speaker 3: A right, Bro, I wouldn't have took a I wouldn't
- 12:28Speaker 3: have took no tea or no cup from her.
- 12:30Speaker 2: I would have thought it was.
- 12:31Speaker 5: Poisoned right straight up.
- 12:36Speaker 1: I mean she didn't drink it as well, and that
- 12:38Speaker 1: was the only thing that saved it.
- 12:40Speaker 3: You never know, though, she might have hit you with
- 12:41Speaker 3: the like my husband gone, I'm ready.
- 12:44Speaker 2: To go to right yours coming with us? It is
- 12:46Speaker 2: my birthday.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it's you in hell.
- 12:50Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying, dog he Yeah.
- 12:52Speaker 3: When she revealed that joint, I was like, damn, Joe,
- 12:55Speaker 3: you that's what's really needed some therapy.
- 12:58Speaker 1: No, that's the thing Joel's and asked, you know, that's
- 13:01Speaker 1: that's the other side of it, Like that is the
- 13:03Speaker 1: you know, and Ellie is a bit of that too,
- 13:05Speaker 1: and that's something that has to be Like they're both
- 13:08Speaker 1: kind of psychopathic that, you know. I think I talked
- 13:10Speaker 1: about that in the first season, and it's kind of
- 13:13Speaker 1: true as well in this season because they both they
- 13:17Speaker 1: need more than therapy, you know what I mean, They've
- 13:19Speaker 1: both been through like horrifically traumatic experiences.
- 13:22Speaker 2: True. You're with the ship, bro, and they're and the
- 13:24Speaker 2: thing is, they're built different.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:26Speaker 3: I love how the show is showing that they built
- 13:28Speaker 3: different because in the game it's easy to show you
- 13:31Speaker 3: built different because you're playing character. Yeah, and you're like,
- 13:35Speaker 3: I gotta be built different. I'm gonna make it through
- 13:36Speaker 3: the whole game. But on a on a TV show,
- 13:40Speaker 3: you got to show that they got something unhinged in them.
- 13:43Speaker 1: And you know what.
- 13:45Speaker 3: I'm saying, Like, we've seen it with Joe when he
- 13:47Speaker 3: went you know, Superman a few times, but this week
- 13:50Speaker 3: I love how.
- 13:51Speaker 1: You show with Ellie when she did that dude in
- 13:54Speaker 1: the fire like that was you know yeah.
- 13:56Speaker 3: And I love how they showed it this week with
- 13:58Speaker 3: Ellie and Dina because they synced up and was like, Yo,
- 14:02Speaker 3: let's we about to go do some thrill chasing with
- 14:05Speaker 3: these zombies in here. Totally pointless to do that.
- 14:08Speaker 2: They just just just crazy, just psycho pass everyone waiting
- 14:13Speaker 2: on them, like, Yo, this is against the rules to
- 14:15Speaker 2: just go back to the crib. They want to go
- 14:16Speaker 2: in there and fight.
- 14:17Speaker 3: The things that can literally kill them just for the
- 14:20Speaker 3: thrill of it because they bored and that that matters
- 14:24Speaker 3: so much later on. But like in the game, I
- 14:27Speaker 3: feel like that never came across to me, I always
- 14:29Speaker 3: just felt like characters that went with me on my
- 14:31Speaker 3: trip as Ellie, which is like my road dolls. But
- 14:35Speaker 3: I but I didn't. It was like why, I don't
- 14:37Speaker 3: know why they sacrificed their life to come with me.
- 14:38Speaker 2: They should just this my vendetta, you know what I'm saying.
- 14:41Speaker 3: But in the in this I feel I could feel
- 14:44Speaker 3: the connection, like, yo, if whatever Ellie gonna go do,
- 14:47Speaker 3: Dina want to go be doing it too, not just
- 14:49Speaker 3: because she like her, but because Dina got that dog
- 14:53Speaker 3: in her. So yeah, they they did a good job
- 14:57Speaker 3: of like conveying that Ellie. Yeah, Ellie got problems.
- 15:02Speaker 1: And Dean it got some too. Yeah, we haven't seen
- 15:05Speaker 1: as much of her trauma from before this, but you know,
- 15:08Speaker 1: all these people have obviously been through Hella trauma to
- 15:10Speaker 1: get to this point and to survive long enough to
- 15:12Speaker 1: find the sanctuary, so you already know what it is.
- 15:17Speaker 1: But yeah, Joel is definitely an asshole. You know that
- 15:21Speaker 1: that goes with I was saying, And I mean it
- 15:24Speaker 1: was like, yeah, I can't say I expected better of him.
- 15:29Speaker 1: It was more like, yeah, you know, this is what.
- 15:31Speaker 3: It shout out to them being consistent to that character
- 15:33Speaker 3: because he is against the open border policy like he
- 15:36Speaker 3: he is purely like I take care of me and
- 15:39Speaker 3: mine first and foremost, and that's it. And me and
- 15:43Speaker 3: mine is really me and Ellie because before this it
- 15:46Speaker 3: was just me and now it's me and Ellie and
- 15:50Speaker 3: it's us against the world. As I think that's also
- 15:54Speaker 3: why he's so hurt is because he really look at
- 15:57Speaker 3: her like an extension of him, and he do anything
- 16:00Speaker 3: for her. He literally did do anything for her, and
- 16:03Speaker 3: she is not grateful for it. She sees it as
- 16:06Speaker 3: a burden that he saddled with. And you know, that's
- 16:09Speaker 3: why he's up in therapy dog. He can't he can't
- 16:11Speaker 3: handle that.
- 16:13Speaker 1: But I mean, again, you kill him with this woman's
- 16:16Speaker 1: husband and she knows it, and you did it dirty.
- 16:21Speaker 1: You know, however did it? We don't know how he
- 16:23Speaker 1: did it, but he did it dirty, yep. And like
- 16:26Speaker 1: that beats the question why did he kill this woman's husband? Yeah, bro,
- 16:32Speaker 1: And I believe it's because he found out something about Elie.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Right Ben.
- 16:37Speaker 3: If it's something that dirty, that's and it would be
- 16:40Speaker 3: real tight if he did it for that reason. But
- 16:43Speaker 3: nobody knows but him and Ellie that that's why he
- 16:46Speaker 3: did it or something. You know what I'm saying, Like,
- 16:48Speaker 3: like nobody knows he that the husband found out, so
- 16:52Speaker 3: he just got another reason that he like, oh he
- 16:54Speaker 3: was wild and I had to take him out. But
- 16:55Speaker 3: we know deep down, like yo, Joe killed this man
- 16:58Speaker 3: out of selfish reasons. It wasn't no virtuous shit, you know, yeah,
- 17:03Speaker 3: you know that would be cool. So then but she knows.
- 17:08Speaker 3: She might not know why he killed him, but she
- 17:10Speaker 3: knows how he killed.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Him exactly, That's what I'm saying.
- 17:13Speaker 3: So like it would be a real complex situation if
- 17:16Speaker 3: that's another thing eating on him inside, because we know
- 17:19Speaker 3: what he'll do to protect that secret dog we saw it,
- 17:22Speaker 3: so like to tell that's not something I feel like
- 17:26Speaker 3: I could put past him, Like he learned a lesson
- 17:28Speaker 3: where like if someone else found out, he'd be like,
- 17:30Speaker 3: oh no, it's cool now. I feel like he know,
- 17:33Speaker 3: his brother know and Ellie know, and he like anybody
- 17:37Speaker 3: else outside the circle of trust they can get dealt with.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Oh yeah, no, Joe would kill this whole town.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 17:43Speaker 1: You know that's what I feel like, if you know,
- 17:45Speaker 1: if the situation granted itself and needed to be done,
- 17:48Speaker 1: he would kill this whole town in order to protect Ellie.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Yep, I believe it, dog, don't he done showed us
- 17:53Speaker 3: his wraps, bro, you live them.
- 18:00Speaker 1: He's already showed that side of him. Shout out to
- 18:02Speaker 1: lock it down. In the comments, who said the doctor
- 18:05Speaker 1: said it was the right thing to do, but she
- 18:07Speaker 1: just didn't like the way he did it.
- 18:10Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what she said. She said, she like understood,
- 18:12Speaker 3: but it's she can never forgive him.
- 18:14Speaker 2: But once again, I still think it because of Ellie.
- 18:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm wondering if that can be part of it, Like,
- 18:22Speaker 3: like you know what I'm saying, Like he could look
- 18:24Speaker 3: like he's crashing out, and maybe that is what happened.
- 18:26Speaker 3: But if he also knew about the Elie thing, I
- 18:29Speaker 3: just think that would add a compelling element to it,
- 18:32Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying of Like, because I like
- 18:34Speaker 3: the moral quandary of Joel.
- 18:36Speaker 2: I like that Joel's not really a good guy.
- 18:39Speaker 3: That's like like, I like that he's a very great
- 18:43Speaker 3: area of protagonists, and so it would add to it.
- 18:46Speaker 3: I'm not saying they need to do it, but I
- 18:48Speaker 3: would not put it past them. The right Yo, this
- 18:51Speaker 3: dude found out and he took his ass out and
- 18:54Speaker 3: made it kind of seem like it was justified, but
- 18:56Speaker 3: maybe it wasn't, you know, so I could definitely see that.
- 19:00Speaker 1: You see it too because of like you said, the
- 19:02Speaker 1: Denzel tier down to when he said I saved her
- 19:06Speaker 1: because he's talking to the therapist right then, like yeah,
- 19:09Speaker 1: you know, I did it, and I did it again
- 19:12Speaker 1: and I'll do it again. You know, no, not not
- 19:17Speaker 1: one bit. Mm hmmm. How do you feel about Dina
- 19:22Speaker 1: and Ellie?
- 19:25Speaker 3: Well, so I thought they did a better job in
- 19:28Speaker 3: this showing why they match as far as like some
- 19:33Speaker 3: of the stuff that happens later on. It's like, Okay,
- 19:35Speaker 3: I see how y'all are like intrigued and tight with.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Each other in the game. It just felt tagged on.
- 19:43Speaker 3: And then that moment once again, you see that moment
- 19:45Speaker 3: out of order, so you don't see it right away
- 19:47Speaker 3: in the way that it happens, but I thought the
- 19:49Speaker 3: illustration of how it happened was actually kind of dope,
- 19:52Speaker 3: just in that Oh I'm sorry, I'm talking about when
- 19:56Speaker 3: they were in the bar and they had the kiss,
- 19:58Speaker 3: and then Buddy and Buddy just it's like it's a
- 20:01Speaker 3: family event, and which at first, I'm like, I can
- 20:04Speaker 3: see how you are like, well, you know, maybe, okay,
- 20:07Speaker 3: you guys are making out. No one else in here
- 20:09Speaker 3: is making out, okay, But then he said it's a church,
- 20:12Speaker 3: and I'm said, who.
- 20:14Speaker 2: You think you're talking to? Right when Ellie said it?
- 20:16Speaker 3: You know, like when Ellie turned around and they and
- 20:19Speaker 3: they made me feel that viscerally in this thing, and
- 20:22Speaker 3: it wasn't so over the top that it was like
- 20:24Speaker 3: either what some type of slur or.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Oh I must have missed it.
- 20:30Speaker 1: He said a word that I can't say on here,
- 20:34Speaker 1: but yes.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Oh wow, okay, so I must in the river whoa Okay?
- 20:40Speaker 3: Well see, yeah, he was getting what he deserved, but
- 20:43Speaker 3: it was complicated enough. And this is how it happens
- 20:46Speaker 3: in the game that when Joel steps in, you feel like, yeah,
- 20:51Speaker 3: like fuck him up.
- 20:52Speaker 2: And at the same time, when Ellie.
- 20:55Speaker 3: Takes offense to it, you also understand like that once
- 20:58Speaker 3: again they relied on those acts to convade out those
- 21:01Speaker 3: emotions and that worked for me. And it also you know,
- 21:04Speaker 3: Dina trying to be the peacemaker, being into Ellie, trying
- 21:10Speaker 3: to respect Joe, trying to heal that relationship even though
- 21:12Speaker 3: she don't really understand what happened.
- 21:15Speaker 2: All of that stuff like worked for me.
- 21:17Speaker 3: She's a Dina is a complicated figure, but like in
- 21:20Speaker 3: a bleak ass show, she's one of the few people
- 21:23Speaker 3: that really like gives you, like an optimistic vibe of like, Okay, yeah,
- 21:28Speaker 3: we have to start being human again. We can't just
- 21:32Speaker 3: all be out here, you know, like doing for Dolo.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Because my one thing with Dina was she came off
- 21:38Speaker 1: like a girl dating in high school. You know, yeah,
- 21:41Speaker 1: you know, like the type who is like, you know,
- 21:44Speaker 1: flirtations a little too much, you know, a little like, oh,
- 21:46Speaker 1: let me just have some fun with Elie and yeah,
- 21:49Speaker 1: you know not and just you know, because she was
- 21:52Speaker 1: just with the other dude, you know, drink his drink, yeah,
- 21:54Speaker 1: you know, and it runs off with Ellie. It's just
- 21:57Speaker 1: like a little like.
- 21:58Speaker 3: I don't have that experience from high school to be
- 22:02Speaker 3: triggered by necessarily.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Maybe, so maybe that's why it didn't hit me that way.
- 22:08Speaker 3: But also I think I like a little bit of
- 22:11Speaker 3: the outgoing, a little too much type of personality.
- 22:15Speaker 1: So oh no, I know that's not what I'm talking about.
- 22:18Speaker 1: I'm going I love I like Dina, like so far,
- 22:20Speaker 1: I'm like Dina immediately, Like when she walked in the
- 22:23Speaker 1: room with Joel, I was like, okay, fuck with this girl,
- 22:26Speaker 1: yeah right away. It was more like I'm worried about
- 22:29Speaker 1: Ellie getting her.
- 22:31Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, oh for sure.
- 22:32Speaker 3: That's what I mean by she's a little too much though,
- 22:34Speaker 3: because I feel like she's not a little too much
- 22:36Speaker 3: for everybody, but she's a little too much for Ellie.
- 22:38Speaker 3: Ellie's every quiet reserve, but part of me also, as
- 22:43Speaker 3: a quiet reserved person, introvert, like that, part of me
- 22:48Speaker 3: also knows as an introvert, those type of people can
- 22:52Speaker 3: be your like your puzzle piece, where like you, people
- 22:56Speaker 3: would think like he don't like all that talking she'd
- 22:59Speaker 3: be doing. It's like, nah, I'll fuck with that. Like
- 23:02Speaker 3: so Ellie need to come out of her shell anyway.
- 23:05Speaker 3: So it's more intriguing. I think there will. They're obviously
- 23:09Speaker 3: setting up. There will be conflict in that relationship at
- 23:11Speaker 3: some point because you know, Dina literally.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Is doing too much, like that's her whole thing.
- 23:19Speaker 3: And you.
- 23:20Speaker 2: And that's why I like the zombie scene earlier.
- 23:22Speaker 3: It's because when Dina makes that joke about the bear
- 23:24Speaker 3: ribs and all that shit, the barbecue you and you
- 23:27Speaker 3: know Ellie Love a corny ass joke, so you see
- 23:30Speaker 3: like that, like I don't know, there's a little spark
- 23:33Speaker 3: there that's like you like that she too much, but
- 23:36Speaker 3: that's gonna also put you in some uncomfortable positions later
- 23:39Speaker 3: on because she is too much. So like, yeah, but
- 23:42Speaker 3: I feel you though, I think they're playing Dina perfectly
- 23:45Speaker 3: in that she she she should make you feel a
- 23:47Speaker 3: little bit of fear for Ellie, I think emotionally and personally,
- 23:52Speaker 3: just because she is too much.
- 23:54Speaker 2: But I want to see Ellie push outside her boundaries.
- 23:56Speaker 3: I don't what she is, but the path she's on
- 23:59Speaker 3: right now is on almost like in cell ship, you know, like.
- 24:04Speaker 2: It's not healthy for her to be isolated like this.
- 24:07Speaker 1: We're already way past that. Like, like I said, Ellie's
- 24:10Speaker 1: not on some you know, on that bad.
- 24:14Speaker 2: She didn't bodies. You're right, Ellie is.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Just lucky that the world is the way it is
- 24:19Speaker 1: so she can run around and catch the bodies. Because
- 24:22Speaker 1: I think I said that in the first season, like
- 24:24Speaker 1: Joel and Ellie feel like, you know, the Walter Whites
- 24:27Speaker 1: of this world when they were just waiting for their
- 24:29Speaker 1: opportunity to catch bodies. You know what I mean it
- 24:32Speaker 1: was like like Joel couldn't catch bodies in his normal life,
- 24:37Speaker 1: so he was frustrated and mad, and then this world
- 24:39Speaker 1: came around and it's like.
- 24:43Speaker 3: Joe, Joe wouldn't have been hitting working at loads, you know,
- 24:46Speaker 3: he kind of needed this.
- 24:48Speaker 1: I think we saw him like he was drinking, you know,
- 24:50Speaker 1: he was aggravated, like he was all that ship, you know,
- 24:52Speaker 1: and then he cleaned up, sobered up, you know, started
- 24:54Speaker 1: catching bodies. That's the new drug out here. So yeah, no,
- 24:59Speaker 1: Joe and Ellie are definitely touched. And Dina, you know,
- 25:01Speaker 1: although she's acutity and everything you know, you got the
- 25:04Speaker 1: sweet innocent, is also a bit touched.
- 25:06Speaker 2: She got it too, Yeah, she got it too.
- 25:11Speaker 1: I would have definitely loved her in high school, yeah, crazy.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Ones, you know, Yeah, she didn't have what they call it,
- 25:21Speaker 2: man it pixie dream girl. But in the Zpoch you
- 25:23Speaker 2: know what I'm saying, apocalypse version.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Which which would have been my five in high school
- 25:29Speaker 1: for real, because I was definitely most populistic, so that
- 25:34Speaker 1: it would have worked out great. No, but like I said,
- 25:38Speaker 1: I really did an overall enjoyed this episode. And then
- 25:40Speaker 1: yeah that's Dina real quick because like the Asian dude,
- 25:43Speaker 1: her ex is way too hot. So that's the other problem.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Ain't no way, She just don't stay away from that man.
- 25:49Speaker 2: He mad cool too, which yeah, you know what I mean.
- 25:52Speaker 2: It almost makes you feel more awkward because he because
- 25:55Speaker 2: he is so chill, like he secure.
- 25:58Speaker 1: He knew why you know, they broke up. He knew
- 26:01Speaker 1: that she was feeling.
- 26:02Speaker 3: I can't wait to see how they portray that character though,
- 26:04Speaker 3: because I feel like in the game he's that cool
- 26:08Speaker 3: and so you kind of feel bad for homeboy because
- 26:11Speaker 3: it's like I'm smashing your eggs but he.
- 26:14Speaker 2: But he's kind of chill with it. So it's like
- 26:16Speaker 2: maybe it's not that bad.
- 26:17Speaker 3: And there's only so many people in this world at
- 26:19Speaker 3: this point, like how press can you really be?
- 26:22Speaker 2: Oh, like, are we doing? Are we doing? Old world rules?
- 26:26Speaker 3: In the z pop because I feel like you kind
- 26:28Speaker 3: of almost can't, like when it's when there's twenty people
- 26:32Speaker 3: in the town, you can't. I think you can't be like, man,
- 26:34Speaker 3: can't nobody mess with her? She used to mess with
- 26:36Speaker 3: so and so it's like, ah no, it's different.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Brother, So you to get over that film.
- 26:41Speaker 2: He gonna move.
- 26:42Speaker 3: I mean he looked like he gonna move. He probably
- 26:44Speaker 3: been moved on. He probably fine.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Look Rod, in both cases, you can't count the bodies
- 26:48Speaker 1: of person has He's a question you don't ask when
- 26:58Speaker 1: you make these people. Somebody counting Davies.
- 27:06Speaker 2: What Tyler. The credits say, I don't judge Judy. I'm
- 27:09Speaker 2: not judging Judy. You do what you need to do.
- 27:11Speaker 2: Sis get through.
- 27:12Speaker 1: It because that's cheaper. Real Ellie probably like close to
- 27:15Speaker 1: a virgin in one case, any others.
- 27:20Speaker 2: She might as well be damn uh Jenney Jackman.
- 27:23Speaker 3: In the other case, Dog, she done went through it, okay.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Even killing the new type of them. Boy, she's seen
- 27:33Speaker 1: some she you ain't never seen before.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Everybody else would have been dead Dog one on one.
- 27:40Speaker 1: The first time out got him like, no problem. Thought
- 27:44Speaker 1: you were a slick bro. So all right, now you've
- 27:50Speaker 1: played the game, so you know some of the things,
- 27:52Speaker 1: and I know, like, like I said, the major things.
- 27:55Speaker 1: But we did get some hints at things coming up
- 27:57Speaker 1: at the end of this episode, such as like you know,
- 28:01Speaker 1: we see the courterceps like it seems to be connected
- 28:07Speaker 1: to the stalker, you know, variant and the fact that
- 28:10Speaker 1: it knows this town is there or now.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Crazy man because once again not in the game. Loved
- 28:16Speaker 2: these love these type of changes to stuff.
- 28:19Speaker 3: You know, this is why this is why I watch
- 28:21Speaker 3: stuff like this because I know a lot of people
- 28:23Speaker 3: are like, just stay faithful to the game.
- 28:25Speaker 2: It's like, bro, it's a different medium and right, the
- 28:28Speaker 2: right they need to do their job. So like stuff
- 28:31Speaker 2: that I don't know is like where they're going with it.
- 28:33Speaker 2: That's intriguing, even more so the stuff from the game.
- 28:36Speaker 3: So like seeing that pipe with that quartercep technacle growing
- 28:40Speaker 3: out of it, and they and the fact that they
- 28:42Speaker 3: really didn't realize they just think it's like some roots
- 28:45Speaker 3: and I'm like, bam, I thought zombie one on one,
- 28:49Speaker 3: we knew that this shit come through the roots.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Like yeah, okay, now that being said, I thought they
- 28:55Speaker 1: knew that that was corterceps roots. It was just dead
- 28:57Speaker 1: quartercep fruits.
- 28:58Speaker 3: Oh so okay, So maybe they think it's oh so
- 29:01Speaker 3: they're just like, oh, the pipe is fucked up, as
- 29:03Speaker 3: opposed to like, hey, this could be some new ship,
- 29:06Speaker 3: so okay, that makes sense how they can get caught
- 29:08Speaker 3: slipping then.
- 29:09Speaker 1: I mean, also, it doesn't I feel you because like
- 29:15Speaker 1: better safe the sorry, right, but then again, wait a minute,
- 29:19Speaker 1: it's a gas.
- 29:21Speaker 2: Oh oh word, Okay.
- 29:22Speaker 1: I can't just you know, I think I think it was.
- 29:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I ain't know if it's gas or water or whatever.
- 29:30Speaker 3: But listen, I'm putting some weed killing that we're doing something.
- 29:33Speaker 3: We're not letting it sit. We know there's no weeds
- 29:36Speaker 3: in the zombie pocalypt when we're dealing with these courtceps brothers. Okay,
- 29:41Speaker 3: we getting there. We're getting rid of all of that.
- 29:43Speaker 3: That that weed be gone. It is gonna be on
- 29:45Speaker 3: full supply because I'm not dying because y'all was just
- 29:48Speaker 3: sleeping on the weeds.
- 29:49Speaker 2: But but nah, I.
- 29:50Speaker 3: Do want to see where they're going because like we
- 29:53Speaker 3: also know that they're all connected, so I'm expecting that
- 29:57Speaker 3: that means like a herd could show up, you know
- 29:59Speaker 3: what I'm saying, Like y'all, Yeah, like if y'all if that,
- 30:03Speaker 3: and that would makes more sense than you know, the
- 30:05Speaker 3: game is just like I heard be showing up. But
- 30:08Speaker 3: if it's more like a a these things can now
- 30:10Speaker 3: sense you in different ways and then bam they on
- 30:13Speaker 3: your ass, fucking with your town. That's what's up. Because
- 30:17Speaker 3: I think I want to see more action this season.
- 30:19Speaker 3: That's if there's anything about season one that I felt
- 30:23Speaker 3: was a little lackluster. I thought the lack of action,
- 30:26Speaker 3: like they only had a few set pieces, whereas in
- 30:29Speaker 3: the game obviously from seeing the scene, like you're fighting
- 30:32Speaker 3: stuff in between. So I feel like every episode you
- 30:35Speaker 3: should have an intense action scene. They have the money,
- 30:39Speaker 3: they have the budget, like it's there's really no excuse
- 30:42Speaker 3: not to. So I'm hoping that we do get like
- 30:46Speaker 3: a big board attacking that town and a big shootout
- 30:49Speaker 3: and all that stuff, because I think that would be
- 30:51Speaker 3: really dope.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Well, I've definitely seen some type of clipping I don't
- 30:56Speaker 1: know if it's a trailer, what of a bunch of
- 30:57Speaker 1: zombies slamming against the walls. Figured that was something like that,
- 31:02Speaker 1: and then I saw on another madroll with a flamethrower.
- 31:06Speaker 1: That's honestly what made me like, Okay, I'll watch the season.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Because I was fighting with the team trying not to
- 31:11Speaker 1: watch the season. I'll let y'all know out there, I
- 31:14Speaker 1: did not want to do it. I was hoping, you know,
- 31:15Speaker 1: we could get somebody else to review this, and the
- 31:18Speaker 1: team was like, yeah, whatever, Ben, you know what I mean,
- 31:21Speaker 1: this is your job. You're doing this, so I'm here.
- 31:24Speaker 1: But like once I saw Joe with the flame thrower,
- 31:26Speaker 1: I was definitely intrigued. Yea, so far, I'm enjoying it,
- 31:30Speaker 1: you know, Like I say, same thing with Rod. I'm
- 31:32Speaker 1: looking forward to that type of shit. I'm looking forward
- 31:34Speaker 1: to also how these stalkers you know, evolve, I guess
- 31:37Speaker 1: or are shown more on the show.
- 31:39Speaker 3: Because I want to see some of them other like
- 31:43Speaker 3: enemy types, you know what I'm saying, Because they did
- 31:44Speaker 3: a little bit of that last season, but it wasn't
- 31:47Speaker 3: that one major fight, and that fight, while it was dope,
- 31:52Speaker 3: it was the only major fight of the series.
- 31:55Speaker 2: Well you know what I'm saying.
- 31:56Speaker 3: And a lot of them enemies they killed within that
- 31:59Speaker 3: fire him inte span and so those enemies to me,
- 32:03Speaker 3: actually are more fun and scary when you do it
- 32:07Speaker 3: like they did the stalker, Like her being in there
- 32:09Speaker 3: with that stalker by herself for five minutes is way
- 32:12Speaker 3: more intense than like seventy of these things running at
- 32:15Speaker 3: you as you try to escape. So I hope they
- 32:18Speaker 3: take time to do stuff like that because I want
- 32:21Speaker 3: to see, you know, the bloater and some of these
- 32:24Speaker 3: other things that are in the game, get a little
- 32:26Speaker 3: bit more love, because, like I want to say, there
- 32:28Speaker 3: was a bloater in the first one at that joint
- 32:30Speaker 3: was it got blown up in like two minutes.
- 32:32Speaker 2: It's like, damn dog, let that shit breathe, you know
- 32:35Speaker 2: what I mean.
- 32:36Speaker 3: So yeah, I'm looking forward to the enemy types and
- 32:39Speaker 3: stuff and some of the interpersonal conflict that they clearly
- 32:42Speaker 3: gonna have.
- 32:44Speaker 2: And of course you know I won't see that. Steven A.
- 32:47Speaker 2: Smith would say, you know, when Abby and them.
- 32:49Speaker 3: Boys come through, I want to see what they do
- 32:52Speaker 3: see that.
- 32:53Speaker 1: That is what I don't want to see because that's
- 32:55Speaker 1: like my one thing that I hate most. And I
- 32:57Speaker 1: know you said the lack of I mean, the Last
- 33:00Speaker 1: of Us is about empathy, and I mean, I guess.
- 33:04Speaker 2: You have to know a game.
- 33:07Speaker 1: I know, but I know I know the story. But
- 33:10Speaker 1: you also you know that's why I never played the game,
- 33:12Speaker 1: because when I saw the first trailer for it, when
- 33:15Speaker 1: they first debuted it, I was like, oh my god,
- 33:17Speaker 1: this is the I've ever seen. And then you were
- 33:19Speaker 1: slicing people's throats left and right, and I'm like, I
- 33:22Speaker 1: can't do this because this is way too visceral for me.
- 33:27Speaker 1: I don't need you know, these draptics to be that
- 33:29Speaker 1: intense and be used for this type of Yeah, I guess, I.
- 33:34Speaker 2: Guess I'm one of the ones.
- 33:35Speaker 3: Then I guess I got to l and me because
- 33:37Speaker 3: I was like, I will fuck these people up real life.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Now. God, you know, I'm you know, like I.
- 33:43Speaker 3: Say in that game, when you can't like avoid violence,
- 33:47Speaker 3: I don't.
- 33:48Speaker 2: Like like like I can sneak through and let five
- 33:51Speaker 2: people live.
- 33:52Speaker 3: I'll be like, nah, I want to be extra sure
- 33:54Speaker 3: that when I come back through here, I'm gonna be straight.
- 33:56Speaker 2: I want to walk around not crouched. You know what
- 33:58Speaker 2: I'm saying.
- 34:01Speaker 1: See that's me. And like in like a Metal Gear,
- 34:03Speaker 1: That's how I played Metal Gear.
- 34:04Speaker 2: You know.
- 34:05Speaker 1: I was an exterminator in Metal Gear.
- 34:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:07Speaker 3: And so the game makes you, you know, you obviously
- 34:10Speaker 3: want to play the game. But it's the first game
- 34:13Speaker 3: like that because like I feel like in Metal Gear,
- 34:15Speaker 3: I never thought about it, like like I'm just like
- 34:17Speaker 3: I'm completing my mission.
- 34:18Speaker 2: These people had to die. This is the first game
- 34:21Speaker 2: that I got. Ruin was like I murdered fifty people.
- 34:27Speaker 1: Well, when you were shooting little African kids in Metal Gear,
- 34:29Speaker 1: I think it was trying to make you think about
- 34:31Speaker 1: what you were doing.
- 34:32Speaker 3: I don't know if I played that one. I don't
- 34:34Speaker 3: know if I played. I don't think I killed no
- 34:35Speaker 3: African kids.
- 34:37Speaker 1: Know well I was shooting them with rubber bullets.
- 34:40Speaker 2: Yeah, which one is this?
- 34:42Speaker 1: Like the last Metal Gear?
- 34:44Speaker 2: Oh? I didn't play last one?
- 34:45Speaker 1: Oh man, that's that was the one where he's really
- 34:48Speaker 1: trying to say, you know, all of this is out
- 34:50Speaker 1: of Okay, I'm buried in it, but you know, it's
- 34:54Speaker 1: just like, to me, how kind of the last I
- 34:57Speaker 1: think The Last of Us does a better job of that,
- 34:59Speaker 1: but it's still very.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Last of Us.
- 35:01Speaker 3: It's not buried like they slap you outside the face
- 35:03Speaker 3: by bruh. There's a scene. There's just something that happened.
- 35:06Speaker 3: I want to explain it, but there's a thing that happens.
- 35:08Speaker 3: Everybody played the game knows. It was the thing that
- 35:11Speaker 3: happened that Ellie does in this game where I legitimately am.
- 35:15Speaker 2: I told my friend Chris Lambert this. He loves the
- 35:17Speaker 2: game too. I put the.
- 35:19Speaker 3: Game down for two or three weeks, like I was
- 35:22Speaker 3: playing it every day for like an hour or two
- 35:24Speaker 3: a day.
- 35:25Speaker 2: She did something horrible and I went, nope.
- 35:28Speaker 4: I know one of the things she does, like you're
- 35:33Speaker 4: killing real like these are people to me now before
- 35:36Speaker 4: they was in PC's and and so it's just so
- 35:40Speaker 4: rare that a game does that.
- 35:42Speaker 2: I feel like TV does that more than games.
- 35:44Speaker 3: So I'm really interested to see if it hits the
- 35:47Speaker 3: same on TV because people that have watched TV, we've
- 35:50Speaker 3: done the like, oh but what if you looked at
- 35:53Speaker 3: it from this way? But in a game, especially a
- 35:56Speaker 3: game that's an action game, it's so fucking rare that
- 36:00Speaker 3: that a developers like, no, I want people to feel
- 36:03Speaker 3: the weight of guilt of taking people's lives. And so
- 36:07Speaker 3: I'm gonna be tuning in to see what your reaction
- 36:10Speaker 3: is and stuff to see if that even like connects
- 36:13Speaker 3: in the same way it did in the game, because
- 36:16Speaker 3: lord Jesus boy, they put they put your boy through
- 36:18Speaker 3: it when when that shit happened. What what is it
- 36:21Speaker 3: if it connects with you on that level, because I
- 36:23Speaker 3: can see it not working on TV in a way
- 36:25Speaker 3: where it's like, oh, we've seen this before, you know
- 36:28Speaker 3: what I'm saying, Like, oh, now we're looking at it
- 36:29Speaker 3: from her perspective. Okay, yeah, We've we've done that a
- 36:32Speaker 3: million times. Whereas in a game. I mean, how that's
- 36:35Speaker 3: so rare you play a solid snake and then, you
- 36:38Speaker 3: know what I'm saying, it's very rare that they turn
- 36:40Speaker 3: around and be like, oh, yeah, what if you played
- 36:42Speaker 3: us to do that? Just came to work that day
- 36:43Speaker 3: and got fucked up.
- 36:48Speaker 1: No, And I'll give you that because in metal gear
- 36:52Speaker 1: that never happens, and metal gear never, you know, emotionally
- 36:56Speaker 1: affected me. I don't think really, And I think it was.
- 36:59Speaker 1: And that's more of a recent occurrence for me at least,
- 37:02Speaker 1: is where video games have been emotionally affecting me. Like
- 37:05Speaker 1: the First Spider Man for PS five, I balled the
- 37:09Speaker 1: funk out.
- 37:10Speaker 3: I mean I literally balled out. Okay, that joint took
- 37:15Speaker 3: your boy down? Yeah, I was. I was in that hospital,
- 37:20Speaker 3: boy boy, I lost it. I lost it, man. I said, Nah,
- 37:25Speaker 3: they're not gonna do this. Uhh, this is a comic book.
- 37:30Speaker 2: No one dies. You know what I'm saying. I was wrong,
- 37:33Speaker 2: you know that.
- 37:34Speaker 1: Again. I was like, ain't no damn way they gonna
- 37:37Speaker 1: do this. They gonna make this choice. Ain't no way, yeah,
- 37:41Speaker 1: because you know no, And then they did and I
- 37:45Speaker 1: sat there dumbfounded. And I still think it's one of
- 37:48Speaker 1: the greatest dads I've ever played. Let's see. God of
- 37:51Speaker 1: War was another one that got me like that, the
- 37:53Speaker 1: recent God of War when that nigga started calling him.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Son yeah oh yeah instead of boy.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Yeah yeah. You know. The real moment is early in
- 38:05Speaker 1: it when he leaves that little dude outside and that
- 38:09Speaker 1: little dude had to kill all them things to survive,
- 38:11Speaker 1: and he comes back out of it and he's just
- 38:13Speaker 1: you know, seen his dead wife, and then you know,
- 38:16Speaker 1: he realized all them things his son had to kill,
- 38:19Speaker 1: and it was like, nah, I was the yo.
- 38:22Speaker 2: Yeah man.
- 38:22Speaker 3: The game storytelling to me, surpassed a lot of like
- 38:27Speaker 3: movie and TV a while ago, because they really just
- 38:30Speaker 3: start taking it serious, especially with these Triple A titles.
- 38:33Speaker 3: They just really put their foot in that shit and
- 38:35Speaker 3: you just can't you can't out do living the experience,
- 38:39Speaker 3: Like telling the experience and watching experience are different than like,
- 38:43Speaker 3: you gotta go do this shit.
- 38:44Speaker 2: And so.
- 38:46Speaker 3: I really want to see if this show can connect
- 38:49Speaker 3: in that way, because if anyone can do it, they
- 38:52Speaker 3: got the money, they got the writers, the creator is involved, ye,
- 38:56Speaker 3: So there's no excuse to be like, you know, man,
- 38:58Speaker 3: they wouldn't let me.
- 38:59Speaker 2: Tell my story, like, no, this is how you want
- 39:01Speaker 2: to tell it, bruh.
- 39:02Speaker 3: So I want to see if they can do it,
- 39:04Speaker 3: because that would mean a lot to me if they can.
- 39:07Speaker 2: But you know, it's worth the attempt either way.
- 39:09Speaker 3: But so far, so good, and it's a bit of
- 39:13Speaker 3: a slow burn. They clearly are making this, and I think,
- 39:18Speaker 3: and so this is the thing I will say. I
- 39:21Speaker 3: think the story for part two should be two seasons
- 39:24Speaker 3: at least, because the game is twice as long as
- 39:28Speaker 3: the first game and it's mostly storytelling.
- 39:31Speaker 2: It's not twice as long because it's twice as much action.
- 39:33Speaker 3: It's like, no, we basically made two full games with
- 39:36Speaker 3: two different protagonists. So if they do it right, it
- 39:41Speaker 3: could work here and not feel like filler. And if
- 39:44Speaker 3: I'm not mistaken, I want to say they made each
- 39:46Speaker 3: season like seven episodes instead of like ten.
- 39:51Speaker 2: Yeah, so they not truly like.
- 39:53Speaker 3: I don't think they're hopefully we'll find out together, but
- 39:56Speaker 3: I don't think they're doing the like cash Grab where
- 39:59Speaker 3: it's like man and shit. When the episodes, I think
- 40:02Speaker 3: they're like, okay, we can make like fourteen instead of instead.
- 40:06Speaker 2: Of ten, four extra four extra episodes.
- 40:09Speaker 3: To tell our story, we'll just split it into two things,
- 40:13Speaker 3: and uh, yeah, that could work, and I hope, I
- 40:16Speaker 3: hope it works for it because I as a video
- 40:18Speaker 3: game enthusiast. I don't know if you feel as way too,
- 40:20Speaker 3: but this video game renaissance we're going through is dope
- 40:24Speaker 3: where we're seeing them take our video game shit seriously
- 40:27Speaker 3: in these movies, as opposed to before when everything was
- 40:31Speaker 3: just a fucking cash grap like they're taking it serious.
- 40:34Speaker 3: Sonic felt like Sonic even with it being like, you know,
- 40:38Speaker 3: three D real, but they it felt like they respected that.
- 40:42Speaker 3: Mario definitely felt that way, but it.
- 40:46Speaker 2: Felt like they gave like Nintendo did that.
- 40:49Speaker 3: It didn't feel to me like back it didn't feel
- 40:52Speaker 3: like the Mario Brothers we grew up with.
- 40:54Speaker 1: Oh god, no right indeed, yeah.
- 41:00Speaker 3: Fall Out Like we're starting to get some of that,
- 41:03Speaker 3: like we're taking it serious. And so I hope this
- 41:06Speaker 3: continues a trend because I really don't want to go
- 41:09Speaker 3: back to the days of like they just slap, you know,
- 41:13Speaker 3: they just slapped some ship on top of Street Fighter
- 41:15Speaker 3: and then you go see it, you'd be like, y'all,
- 41:16Speaker 3: motherfuckers didn't even play.
- 41:17Speaker 1: The game, man, You heard me at that, Mario, because
- 41:20Speaker 1: I saw that and Street Fighter in theater, so like
- 41:22Speaker 1: I took those l's, you know, I held both of them.
- 41:26Speaker 2: That Street Fighter hurt, Bro to this day. I know
- 41:28Speaker 2: it's funny, but but it hurts.
- 41:31Speaker 1: No, it hurt like it's funny now, but it's hurt
- 41:34Speaker 1: in the theater.
- 41:34Speaker 2: And I wasn't laughing at first time I seen.
- 41:37Speaker 1: That showw No, hell no, none of that shit was funny.
- 41:41Speaker 1: I was sitting there like that was ten dollars. And
- 41:44Speaker 1: I believe this ship game, you know, this is like
- 41:49Speaker 1: I poured so many goddamn quarters into this motherfucker.
- 41:52Speaker 3: Like I was fighter at it, Bro and I and
- 41:55Speaker 3: I'm a fiend man. I would go see these bad
- 41:58Speaker 3: adaptatients hoping they be good, and I mean ones, I
- 42:02Speaker 3: had no business seeing Prince of Persia Assassin's Creed, like.
- 42:07Speaker 1: Terrible movie, and I forgot right.
- 42:09Speaker 3: Like, so we this is very recent that we've entered
- 42:12Speaker 3: this like three to five year space of like, nah,
- 42:16Speaker 3: let's take it seriously. You know what I'm saying, Like
- 42:17Speaker 3: I enjoyed Doom, but not because Doom felt like doom.
- 42:22Speaker 2: Like I enjoyed it because it's like, oh the rock.
- 42:24Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying, Like it wasn't.
- 42:26Speaker 1: I never saw that one either.
- 42:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I can't defend it as a like nah, man,
- 42:29Speaker 3: they really took it.
- 42:30Speaker 2: Looked at the Sorcitari. They could give a fuck about us.
- 42:32Speaker 3: Back then, they was like give They was like bullies
- 42:34Speaker 3: basically running our pockets as nerves, like hey we got
- 42:38Speaker 3: this ip. You're like, hey, come on over here, give
- 42:40Speaker 3: me your lunch money. Boy, you know what I'm saying.
- 42:42Speaker 3: And so now to see they took this seriously. We
- 42:45Speaker 3: got great actors, great performances, great directors.
- 42:49Speaker 2: High budget.
- 42:50Speaker 3: Last of Us gives me hope that that will that
- 42:52Speaker 3: trend will continue. And I really hope they stick the
- 42:55Speaker 3: landing because uh, I feel like.
- 42:57Speaker 2: The world needs this.
- 42:58Speaker 1: Man.
- 42:58Speaker 3: The world needs to start looking at each other a
- 43:00Speaker 3: little with a little more empathy these days. Man, this
- 43:03Speaker 3: ship is not good. What's happening right now?
- 43:06Speaker 1: No, No, it's not. But then again, you know certain
- 43:10Speaker 1: people you really can't have empathy for it too. That's
- 43:12Speaker 1: kind of you know, there's a you know, you know.
- 43:17Speaker 2: I'm just wondered.
- 43:18Speaker 1: Dog.
- 43:18Speaker 3: I feel like the thing that gets people out of
- 43:22Speaker 3: things like this is radical empathy. It's something that we
- 43:26Speaker 3: are a short supply of this is true. It's sad
- 43:31Speaker 3: because I feel as angry as probably anybody else right now.
- 43:36Speaker 2: But I know I feel like Joel.
- 43:40Speaker 3: Well, I'm angry as hell, But I think a lot
- 43:44Speaker 3: of anger is hurt and a lot of people sadness
- 43:46Speaker 3: is anger that's just not coming out right. And so
- 43:51Speaker 3: it doesn't mean there aren't monsters outside the gates, you know,
- 43:54Speaker 3: like you can't have empathy for the monsters outside your gates,
- 43:57Speaker 3: but the people that need to come together to fight
- 44:00Speaker 3: against the monsters, we gotta have empathy for each other
- 44:02Speaker 3: and stop looking at just you know, how we've been
- 44:05Speaker 3: wrong and just and stopping there being like how wrong
- 44:09Speaker 3: you don't count?
- 44:10Speaker 2: But how you fuck with me? That's the only thing
- 44:12Speaker 2: that matter.
- 44:12Speaker 3: And I feel like this, the game and this story
- 44:14Speaker 3: are very much like of that ILK, where like this
- 44:17Speaker 3: is what happens when you think what you do is justified,
- 44:20Speaker 3: but what other people do to you is not. And
- 44:23Speaker 3: so's it'll be interesting to see the morality of these
- 44:26Speaker 3: characters as they come into these conflicts.
- 44:29Speaker 1: So you're saying you're not for reparations, then.
- 44:33Speaker 2: Reparations is not violence, So I'm for it.
- 44:38Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying, Like, I feel like the
- 44:40Speaker 3: version of Reparations to Joel and Ellie would be like,
- 44:43Speaker 3: we're going to enslave you.
- 44:45Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying, Like, it wouldn't be no,
- 44:49Speaker 2: you know.
- 44:50Speaker 1: Are representative of the monsters that need to be kept
- 44:53Speaker 1: outside of the gates, you.
- 44:54Speaker 3: Know, like they've been hurt, they've been traumatized, but their
- 44:58Speaker 3: their shit is like I go into psycho mode and
- 45:01Speaker 3: then I feel vindicated and fucking you up, and I'm
- 45:05Speaker 3: like that to.
- 45:06Speaker 2: Me, ain't the same as reparations, my friend.
- 45:08Speaker 3: I feel like, once y'all got four three hots in
- 45:11Speaker 3: the cut and y'all had a roof over, y'all head,
- 45:13Speaker 3: y'all need to chill the fuck out.
- 45:14Speaker 1: Y'all good though, But see again, with Joe and Ellie,
- 45:17Speaker 1: I go back to the balls of white theory, where
- 45:19Speaker 1: I just feel like they are a problem and they
- 45:21Speaker 1: would always be a problem, and it was just the
- 45:22Speaker 1: world that kept them in their place. Possibly yeah, you know,
- 45:27Speaker 1: this world allowed them to wild out.
- 45:29Speaker 3: So yeah, I think what's interesting about both of those
- 45:32Speaker 3: characters is that, and I guess every character in this show,
- 45:35Speaker 3: but it's the trauma that the trauma you go through
- 45:39Speaker 3: and what you have to do to survive that changes
- 45:43Speaker 3: how you view the world. And so it's and I
- 45:46Speaker 3: mean we see it in real life PTSD, like it's
- 45:49Speaker 3: hard to just turn that shit off, the survival instincts.
- 45:52Speaker 2: Man.
- 45:52Speaker 3: I played basketball in the hood until I was basically
- 45:56Speaker 3: like twenty two, and then I went and got I
- 45:59Speaker 3: got a whim A membership and I started playing ball
- 46:01Speaker 3: with the people at the Why.
- 46:03Speaker 2: And people at the.
- 46:04Speaker 3: Why they got jobs, you know what I'm saying, Like
- 46:06Speaker 3: they you know what I'm saying, they got shit going
- 46:08Speaker 3: family basketball not that important to them, But to me,
- 46:12Speaker 3: a lot of how I defined myself as a person
- 46:14Speaker 3: and a man was like I'm hell on this court,
- 46:17Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying, were about to do this
- 46:19Speaker 3: and Bruh. That was an eye opening experience when I
- 46:22Speaker 3: came up in there because I still had to hood
- 46:24Speaker 3: at me like they would be like, oh yeah, so
- 46:27Speaker 3: shirts and skin.
- 46:28Speaker 2: I'm like, I ain't taking my fucking shirt off. Man,
- 46:30Speaker 2: you don't know your teammate, just know what you're on
- 46:32Speaker 2: your damn team.
- 46:33Speaker 3: Bru I just met y'all, and I know who on
- 46:35Speaker 3: my team, and they would be like, why are you
- 46:37Speaker 3: so adversarial? You know what I'm saying, Like, just say no,
- 46:41Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying. And I used to, like,
- 46:43Speaker 3: you know, talk shit when they would be shooting shots.
- 46:45Speaker 3: I would argue over calls and shit, you know, because
- 46:48Speaker 3: I just felt like that's what you supposed to do, like, man,
- 46:50Speaker 3: I ain't found you. Man, fuck that shit, you know,
- 46:53Speaker 3: shoot the ball then that kind of shit. And I
- 46:56Speaker 3: just I just remember wilding out one day and and
- 47:00Speaker 3: I think it was just like some older white man
- 47:02Speaker 3: was just like.
- 47:03Speaker 2: Why are you doing this?
- 47:04Speaker 3: And I looked around and thought about I was like, damn,
- 47:06Speaker 3: I'm the only one acting like this. This whole gym
- 47:10Speaker 3: is civilized, and I'm out here acting like I'm gonna
- 47:14Speaker 3: whoop somebody's ass.
- 47:15Speaker 2: And I was like, oh, this is my drama. This
- 47:18Speaker 2: all the ship. I felt like I had.
- 47:19Speaker 3: To do when I was playing ball in the hood
- 47:21Speaker 3: because you kind of do need to let people know
- 47:23Speaker 3: you're not the one to be fucked with, cause be
- 47:26Speaker 3: cause it is some people out there actively it's like
- 47:28Speaker 3: I'm gonna suck you up. And I think that's Joe
- 47:30Speaker 3: and Ellie in this town, Like this town is not
- 47:33Speaker 3: They don't need to be doing all this, but in
- 47:36Speaker 3: this town, they still got the hood and they still
- 47:40Speaker 3: looking at conflict like, Man, I'll push this old man
- 47:43Speaker 3: down for calling you out your name.
- 47:44Speaker 2: I'll fuck him up in front of everybody.
- 47:46Speaker 6: It's like, oh, we could have just talked about it.
- 47:50Speaker 6: It's so hurt like that push for the rest of
- 47:56Speaker 6: his life.
- 47:57Speaker 5: Bro, he said, not you, not you. I thought we
- 48:01Speaker 5: was in this together. Like nah, fool, not at all.
- 48:05Speaker 5: It's me and hers everybody bro.
- 48:08Speaker 3: Right, the therapist, you know, Joe looks shocked that she
- 48:11Speaker 3: brought up he killed her husband, like he still got
- 48:14Speaker 3: the hood in him. You know what I'm saying, That's
- 48:16Speaker 3: how I look when that man was real.
- 48:20Speaker 2: Yo, niggas do every day be That's what I do.
- 48:24Speaker 2: That's how I got here. I don't know.
- 48:26Speaker 1: You don't bring me around if you don't want to
- 48:28Speaker 1: get bit.
- 48:28Speaker 3: You know, got the gate to kill people. You go
- 48:37Speaker 3: through this therapy or night like you very much felt
- 48:40Speaker 3: like that.
- 48:40Speaker 1: Not.
- 48:41Speaker 3: Maybe that's the part I relate to, is to like,
- 48:43Speaker 3: damn man, you really can lose it without perspective.
- 48:46Speaker 2: Uh.
- 48:46Speaker 3: It's just that they don't seem to be being civilized,
- 48:49Speaker 3: yet they still seem like they got it. They got
- 48:51Speaker 3: that thing in them, so I don't know if they
- 48:53Speaker 3: gonna ever get it out.
- 48:55Speaker 1: Actually we know they not no time, so we know
- 48:59Speaker 1: they're not gonna get it. Bro, ain't gonna let them
- 49:01Speaker 1: get out. And like I say, to a point, they
- 49:03Speaker 1: enjoyed this.
- 49:04Speaker 2: Yes, that's the one. That's the one, you.
- 49:07Speaker 1: Know, that is the thing, Like we see it in
- 49:08Speaker 1: this episode. Ellie truly enjoys this. You know she loves killing.
- 49:13Speaker 2: Yeah, Bro, that's the one that's the thing. Like, I
- 49:16Speaker 2: like the examination of that part of them and they
- 49:18Speaker 2: I love that they carried it into the to the
- 49:20Speaker 2: TV show cause in the game, you do it because
- 49:24Speaker 2: that's the gameplay, you know what I'm saying.
- 49:26Speaker 3: It's like, oh, well to get out this level, I
- 49:27Speaker 3: gotta do this. In life, there's a lot of options.
- 49:31Speaker 3: You ain't got to do that.
- 49:33Speaker 2: They wanted to go in there and fuck that clicker up,
- 49:36Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying. Like that that's something that's
- 49:38Speaker 2: said something about them.
- 49:39Speaker 3: They risk date safety and the people outside was right
- 49:42Speaker 3: because she.
- 49:43Speaker 2: Did get bit. They don't know she's a mune, but
- 49:45Speaker 2: technically the people outside were right.
- 49:47Speaker 3: You go in there and get fucked up. If she
- 49:49Speaker 3: wasn't immune. We're like, yo, Ellie just died yep for
- 49:52Speaker 3: no fucking reason. So Dina too, Yeah, and probably Dina too.
- 49:57Speaker 2: So you like it is one of those like damn
- 50:00Speaker 2: man like if something.
- 50:02Speaker 1: Is wrong with you and then you know she has
- 50:05Speaker 1: to cut herself to mask that. It's a bite Mark roh.
- 50:09Speaker 2: She's a wild wild.
- 50:11Speaker 1: Wow wowchild, wild child. All right. I think that about

- 52:40Speaker 1: Look y'all, I feel if they ended, you know well,
- 52:44Speaker 1: like you were saying, Rod, like how Last of Us
- 52:47Speaker 1: is like, you know, one of your favorite games, and
- 52:49Speaker 1: Or like the Wire is always my you know, standard
- 52:53Speaker 1: for television, but and Or Lady has become my standard
- 52:57Speaker 1: for television. Like I talk about season one, I just
- 53:01Speaker 1: finished rewatching Season one like last week, and I was
- 53:04Speaker 1: blown away at every moment that blew me away. In
- 53:07Speaker 1: the first time I watched it, it blew me away just
- 53:09Speaker 1: the same. It was like, the show is just outrageously good.
- 53:13Speaker 2: That's another character that got that dog.
- 53:15Speaker 1: Man look, Cassie and straight off the bat is a monster.
- 53:19Speaker 1: Like you know, I was watching with my partner and
- 53:22Speaker 1: they were like, am I supposed to like him? I'm
- 53:25Speaker 1: like not. At first, he do't need.
- 53:28Speaker 2: To be done.
- 53:29Speaker 3: I can tell you that much. If it need to
- 53:31Speaker 3: be done, he gonna get it done. But you might
- 53:33Speaker 3: not like how you get it done.
- 53:34Speaker 1: No, but by the end of the first season they
- 53:36Speaker 1: were definitely on it, so you know it worked out.
- 53:38Speaker 1: But once again, thank you to everyone out there who
- 53:42Speaker 1: joined us for this episode. Love y'all. We'll be back
- 53:46Speaker 1: next week to talk more about Last of Us, like
- 53:49Speaker 1: I said, and or dropping the twenty seconds, so we'll
- 53:51Speaker 1: be here for that. Wait, I've got another movie for
- 53:54Speaker 1: you coming out soon. I think, well, that's another one
- 53:58Speaker 1: that you know I don't.
- 53:59Speaker 2: Have that right.
- 54:00Speaker 1: I gooped the love that everyone. I'm hoping there's a
- 54:05Speaker 1: screening this week, but other than that, I'll be in
- 54:08Speaker 1: theaters with everybody else body.
- 54:10Speaker 2: That's what I would have had y'all in there for.
- 54:12Speaker 1: I would the change in d I killing us?
- 54:21Speaker 2: What is happening?
- 54:21Speaker 1: Bro?
- 54:22Speaker 2: I was on that list.
- 54:23Speaker 1: It's between that and the love for influencers over everyone.
- 54:27Speaker 2: You know that's killing the game.
- 54:29Speaker 1: Killing the game, fam it's crazy. I guess you know,
- 54:32Speaker 1: we gotta do more shorts, Rod, you know what I mean?
- 54:34Speaker 3: Yeah, bro, turn to this. I might have to start
- 54:38Speaker 3: lying to the people.
- 54:39Speaker 2: You know, you know, Florence is dog.
- 54:43Speaker 3: They hey, man, Tyler Perry's uh, you know, Taylor Perry's
- 54:48Speaker 3: Marriaging black Man.
- 54:49Speaker 2: Greatest movie of all time?
- 54:51Speaker 3: Man, I'm telling you was up there with Denzel Washington, Like,
- 54:54Speaker 3: is that that real?
- 54:56Speaker 1: I just saw, I mean, we did her if you
- 54:58Speaker 1: would have amateur And I had to keep for real
- 55:00Speaker 1: on that. And I just watched G twenty the other
- 55:02Speaker 1: night and a lot of people were hyping that shit up.
- 55:04Speaker 1: And look, I love me some Miss Davis. Yo, I
- 55:08Speaker 1: love her.
- 55:10Speaker 3: I saw, I saw G twenty, and I said, the
- 55:14Speaker 3: thing I keep saying about G twenty entertaining G twenty
- 55:19Speaker 3: is like Bill Maher going to the White House, meaning
- 55:23Speaker 3: it was ridiculous also predictable. Yes, And I don't mean
- 55:29Speaker 3: that I feel the same way about both things, but
- 55:32Speaker 3: that's how I would describe G twenty.
- 55:34Speaker 2: It was like, it is ridiculous but predictable. I enjoyed
- 55:40Speaker 2: it on that level, just like this is god damn ridiculous.
- 55:46Speaker 1: When my man threw the knife into my man's chest.
- 55:49Speaker 1: I was like, all right, I'm I'm sold. You know.
- 55:51Speaker 1: That was my one problem with it was because like
- 55:54Speaker 1: my favorite of those films is the Jamie Fox Chanting Tatum.
- 55:57Speaker 2: Joint where the White House down.
- 55:59Speaker 1: Yes, because they it's ridiculous, but they know it is.
- 56:02Speaker 1: And this then it felt this felt like they were
- 56:04Speaker 1: trying to be serious and I'm lean all the way
- 56:08Speaker 1: into how ridiculous.
- 56:09Speaker 3: Now, there's some moments in here where you're just like
- 56:12Speaker 3: if they put a laugh track in, you'd be like,
- 56:14Speaker 3: that makes sense.
- 56:16Speaker 2: That makes sense. It's too crazy.
- 56:18Speaker 1: Short went from like I have no combat experience to
- 56:21Speaker 1: me in a cold blooded.
- 56:23Speaker 3: Old girl, old girl that's like just work at the hotel.
- 56:28Speaker 3: Was it was just like her skill set was just
- 56:31Speaker 3: like ou and also also the baddest motherfucking hotel.
- 56:34Speaker 1: Like also that you know, I'm.
- 56:36Speaker 2: Killing mercenaries on the slide, you know what I'm saying.
- 56:38Speaker 2: That's my side gig, My side hustle was killing mercenaries.
- 56:42Speaker 2: Between that, I clean rooms.
- 56:44Speaker 1: They said the government did put those two in there,
- 56:46Speaker 1: So now is there one line?
- 56:48Speaker 2: Kind of forever though, they was out there getting it
- 56:50Speaker 2: bro she was dor Miller Jay, Bro that that wasn't
- 56:54Speaker 2: just that was they didn't just find like they found
- 56:57Speaker 2: the Double O seven black people. There wasn't just no
- 56:59Speaker 2: regular soldiers through that knife like this I love I
- 57:06Speaker 2: did laugh, man, it hit every trope, but did it.
- 57:09Speaker 1: Was so ridiculous. But I can't say, like on the
- 57:12Speaker 1: steal of like you know, I feel like this is
- 57:15Speaker 1: that season right now, like where like centers might be
- 57:17Speaker 1: kicking off, you know, good movie season. We're in like
- 57:20Speaker 1: you know, bad movie season, and so right the DVD bro, yeah,
- 57:23Speaker 1: that was better than the Amateur, but still both of
- 57:26Speaker 1: them are straight.
- 57:26Speaker 3: You know what these movies are, man, These are the
- 57:28Speaker 3: movies that when Blockbuster existed, you went in to go
- 57:32Speaker 3: get another movie, but they ain't have that, they had this.
- 57:38Speaker 3: You end up watching The Art of War seven with
- 57:40Speaker 3: Wesley Snipe to pay off his tax bill because they
- 57:44Speaker 3: ain't half Diehard three or whatever.
- 57:49Speaker 1: I call these the TNT movie to come on before
- 57:52Speaker 1: the game. Yeah, and my my rating is what I
- 57:55Speaker 1: turned it off or what I leave it on because
- 57:58Speaker 1: I don't want to be getting into the game because
- 58:00Speaker 1: I don't want to.
- 58:00Speaker 2: Miss I would leave this one on.
- 58:02Speaker 3: I leave leave but his Cousin's ridiculous and I want
- 58:06Speaker 3: to hear I want to hear somebody be like this
- 58:09Speaker 3: Mickey Ficky over here.
- 58:11Speaker 1: You know so it's so ridiculous. Oh man, oh man.
