- 0:09Speaker 1: Inside the Birds is back. What's up? Everybody is Jeff Moser,
- 0:15Speaker 1: Adam Kaplan. We've been talking about NFL free agency. We've
- 0:20Speaker 1: been previewing it. We've given you quarterbacks, we've gone through
- 0:23Speaker 1: running backs, and now we get to wide receivers.
- 0:26Speaker 2: It may be.
- 0:27Speaker 1: I mean, when you look at some of the names
- 0:28Speaker 1: out there, you're like, oh, hey, that guy can play,
- 0:31Speaker 1: that guy can play. Probably this, Adam. We're going to
- 0:34Speaker 1: talk about this through two different lenses, right the NFL
- 0:37Speaker 1: because we're gonna preview NFL free agency at this position,
- 0:39Speaker 1: but also obviously the Eagles lens. There's a lot going
- 0:42Speaker 1: on with them. You've heard them at the combine sort
- 0:45Speaker 1: of talk their way around the AJ Brown situation. All right,
- 0:50Speaker 1: clearly we know there if there's business to be made,
- 0:53Speaker 1: business will be made. All right, we'll say that. But
- 0:56Speaker 1: if you look at the Eagles, to me, whether or
- 0:59Speaker 1: not they have AJ Brown, I think we've discussed this.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Their depth of that position is not great and it
- 1:04Speaker 1: wouldn't hurt them to be a little bit active in
- 1:07Speaker 1: free agency. Just to you know, we've talked about they
- 1:09Speaker 1: don't have a natural slot, and we've talked about they
- 1:12Speaker 1: have no after DeVante Smith and A. J.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Brown.
- 1:15Speaker 1: What do they got right? I mean, John Doatson's a
- 1:17Speaker 1: free agent. Then you got guys like Johnny Wilson, Darius Cooper.
- 1:20Speaker 1: They don't have like an established guy there. And then
- 1:22Speaker 1: of course if you look at the NFL right, there
- 1:25Speaker 1: are probably four or five teams that you think if
- 1:27Speaker 1: that team got itself just a decent like a B
- 1:31Speaker 1: plus type of wide receiver, maybe like the Bills, right,
- 1:34Speaker 1: they could really do something. So why I think this
- 1:36Speaker 1: position is going to be very interesting in free agency?
- 1:40Speaker 2: Yeah, it actually has pretty good death. Now George Pickens
- 1:45Speaker 2: will not be going to freegency. Technically you're not going
- 1:47Speaker 2: to get the franchise tag Cowboys. Not surprisingly it's really
- 1:51Speaker 2: their only option now because they figuring out his contract
- 1:54Speaker 2: with If Pittsburgh want to know part of them, they
- 1:57Speaker 2: traded them and then you had some concentration problem after
- 2:00Speaker 2: problems last season, and then there were times where he
- 2:03Speaker 2: was unbelievable the best receiver in football by far. Some
- 2:05Speaker 2: weeks you got Dak Prescott, a still pretty good quarterback.
- 2:09Speaker 2: So it worked for them, But trying to figure out
- 2:12Speaker 2: what that contract would look like structuralized. Can they get
- 2:14Speaker 2: out of it early if he's not behaving. Well, yeah,
- 2:18Speaker 2: this stuff matters, man, It matters when you're doing out
- 2:20Speaker 2: that kind of cash. M hm. And you know how
- 2:23Speaker 2: the Cowboys love the way till the end.
- 2:26Speaker 1: First of all, they love the franchise tag. I mean
- 2:29Speaker 1: they've had a franchise tag now, like think five times
- 2:31Speaker 1: in the last eight years. I mean the who they
- 2:34Speaker 1: put the tag on somebody two years in a row,
- 2:36Speaker 1: DeMarcus Lawrence. I mean, they love the franchise tag, which
- 2:39Speaker 1: you know most people would tell you is not the
- 2:41Speaker 1: greatest mechanism. You don't want to have to use the
- 2:44Speaker 1: franchise tag. But they do business differently.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Yeah, it's an insurance policy. But what the Cowboys typically
- 2:50Speaker 2: typically do, and a lot of teams do this, they
- 2:52Speaker 2: don't look at it like the fans, Oh, who's their priority.
- 2:55Speaker 2: They don't look at it that way. The first thing
- 2:56Speaker 2: you look at it who could we get signed first?
- 2:58Speaker 1: Right?
- 2:58Speaker 2: Okay? Jake Ferguson, he signed early, relatively early. Then they
- 3:03Speaker 2: worked their way to other contracts. Cowboys historically try to
- 3:06Speaker 2: sign guys they know they can get early done, and
- 3:10Speaker 2: then they moved to the big fish late and that's
- 3:12Speaker 2: when Jerry pays more than he should. It's not the
- 3:15Speaker 2: way the Eagles do a business. It's one of the
- 3:16Speaker 2: many reasons why Joe Banner was smart. Then they became
- 3:21Speaker 2: the nflp came up with the so called Joe Banner rule. No,
- 3:24Speaker 2: you can't extend it. We don't want you extend our players,
- 3:27Speaker 2: and we don't want the pressure of you try and
- 3:28Speaker 2: extend our players after two years. So in a CBA
- 3:31Speaker 2: couple decades ago, you have to wait three seasons of
- 3:35Speaker 2: a cruit service. So yeah, but you know the Eagles,
- 3:37Speaker 2: you know, we'll talk more about that as we get
- 3:39Speaker 2: closer to free agency, but you know they're going to
- 3:41Speaker 2: be aggressive trying to get there some of the young
- 3:43Speaker 2: players done. That's absolutely gonna happen. So they get three
- 3:47Speaker 2: or four of them done. That remains to be seen.
- 3:50Speaker 2: But the bottom line is when it comes to them
- 3:52Speaker 2: at receiver. As much as they liked Darris Cooper, he's unproven.
- 3:56Speaker 2: There was a great story development, no no doubt, great
- 3:59Speaker 2: story last summer. Mm hmm. Johnny Wilson come off a
- 4:02Speaker 2: major injury. Britain Covey is under contract. By the way,
- 4:04Speaker 2: he's a slot only and a punt returner and a
- 4:07Speaker 2: little bit of kickoff returner. And if they trade a J. Brown,
- 4:10Speaker 2: they have a major hall And obviously if you're gonna
- 4:13Speaker 2: trade them, you're gonna want to get something of worth
- 4:14Speaker 2: back where you could replace him. We're not going to
- 4:17Speaker 2: do it, right, That's just the way it is. So
- 4:19Speaker 2: it's it's kind of complicated trading him because if you
- 4:23Speaker 2: trade him, you'd love to if you're going to trade him,
- 4:26Speaker 2: you'd love to get a first for a bad team,
- 4:28Speaker 2: so you get it upper half of the first round.
- 4:30Speaker 2: But if you trade him to someone's gonna pick in
- 4:33Speaker 2: the late twenties, and we're we're on freedancy. Now we'll
- 4:38Speaker 2: get to that. We always get to the draft second
- 4:40Speaker 2: or three week of March, and it's all draft because
- 4:43Speaker 2: freegency is like this, you know, it's like NBA freegency.
- 4:45Speaker 2: It's a little bit shorter than an NBA in terms
- 4:47Speaker 2: of the big part of it. But when you look
- 4:51Speaker 2: at this situation, man, it's a you're not yet, You're
- 4:55Speaker 2: not you're gonna hear this list though it's a pretty
- 4:57Speaker 2: good list. There's no one out there who's not going
- 5:00Speaker 2: to be tagged other than Dredge Pickens, of course, but
- 5:04Speaker 2: there's no one else who could even remotely replace a G. Brown.
- 5:07Speaker 2: That's why the only way you're going to do it
- 5:09Speaker 2: is if you get someone back in the trade or
- 5:12Speaker 2: you feel that the draft is strong enough at receiver.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Now the early word is it's not. It's sort of
- 5:18Speaker 2: top heavy, and even at the top guys, they're questions,
- 5:22Speaker 2: like there weren't a lot of Tech McMillan. I maybe
- 5:25Speaker 2: you might remember, I don't remember any questions about him.
- 5:27Speaker 2: He had a really good rookie season, by the.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Way, Yeah, he had a very good rookie season. There
- 5:30Speaker 1: were The only questions were about the pure speed, because
- 5:34Speaker 1: he's more of a big, physical, possession retrict London. Yeah. Yeah,
- 5:39Speaker 1: But like I remember talking to Greg about this and
- 5:41Speaker 1: Greg was like, I don't get it, man. He just
- 5:42Speaker 1: does what those he does, what big physical receivers do.
- 5:46Speaker 1: He catches all the balls, and he learns how to
- 5:48Speaker 1: shield defenders with his body, and he has great hands.
- 5:50Speaker 1: And you know, I think if Teed McMillan were playing
- 5:53Speaker 1: in a better offense last year, you could have even
- 5:54Speaker 1: had even better rookie numbers. He's a really good player.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Yeah, seventy and seven touchdown that's really good for a rookie. Yeah,
- 6:02Speaker 2: he didn't miss any time. He's on his way to
- 6:05Speaker 2: being a really good player. He was the eighth pick overall.
- 6:09Speaker 2: And Philly's own Dan Morgan, the GM from Clifton Heights, PA.
- 6:16Speaker 2: By the way he made the pick, and that he's
- 6:18Speaker 2: on his way. McMillan. So getting back to this situation,
- 6:22Speaker 2: we'll get the names in like thirty seconds here. But
- 6:25Speaker 2: the good thing about this group is if you're a
- 6:28Speaker 2: fan of a team that needs speed, there's that. If
- 6:31Speaker 2: you need a slot receiver, there's that. If you want
- 6:33Speaker 2: a veteran that's near the anim his career and you
- 6:35Speaker 2: just want to possess a receiver, you got that. But
- 6:37Speaker 2: the A level receiver Mike Evans is turning thirty three,
- 6:41Speaker 2: still really good. I'm interested to what kind of deal
- 6:45Speaker 2: he can get. That'd be fascinating me too.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Me too. I'm sure he's still a pretty good player.
- 6:50Speaker 1: You know, the Eagles at him. I think that no
- 6:52Speaker 1: matter what they probably should get in that they should
- 6:55Speaker 1: be involved here at some level in wide receiver free
- 7:00Speaker 1: agency just because of their depth in the past. I mean,
- 7:03Speaker 1: they've never really been deep at receiver, even at their
- 7:07Speaker 1: most successful they went to the Super Bowl and lost
- 7:09Speaker 1: it three years ago with Ques Watkins as their slot receiver.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Kind of miscast that way they made it work, but
- 7:16Speaker 1: really it's because the slot receiver has always been the
- 7:19Speaker 1: number four option in the passing game, behind the two
- 7:21Speaker 1: receivers and Dallas Goddard. But now we don't know what's
- 7:25Speaker 1: gonna happen with Dallas Goddard, So that third receiver in
- 7:28Speaker 1: general could take on a bigger role if it's the
- 7:31Speaker 1: right guy in this new offense, especially, and I just
- 7:34Speaker 1: think that they're gonna have to. I'm not saying that
- 7:36Speaker 1: they have to go out there and blow somebody away
- 7:38Speaker 1: with a big three or four year deal. I'm just saying,
- 7:39Speaker 1: like they have to. It would help them to bring
- 7:41Speaker 1: in a guy who can catch and passes, veteran who's
- 7:44Speaker 1: done it, you know, God two years ago. Not a
- 7:46Speaker 1: draft one, by the way. Yeah, but you and I
- 7:48Speaker 1: always say you can't. You can't rely on a draft
- 7:50Speaker 1: pick to as a rookie to be what you want
- 7:53Speaker 1: that guy.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Be. Somebody. If you're looking for an insurance policy, you
- 7:58Speaker 2: might want to look towards free agency. Want a developmental slot,
- 8:01Speaker 2: you certainly could look to the draft, and we'll We'll
- 8:03Speaker 2: learn more about the rookies when we start breaking down
- 8:07Speaker 2: that stuff. But anyway, let's let's get to it.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Let's get just remember they wanted, right, I'm sorry to
- 8:12Speaker 1: drop two years ago, they wanted to be deeper. They
- 8:14Speaker 1: signed DeVante Parker and then he wound up retiring in camp,
- 8:19Speaker 1: which remember that, you know then.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Did he did he retire well before training? Right?
- 8:26Speaker 1: He retired? Way he might have been.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, exactly. I was like, wait a minute, right, right? Uh?
- 8:34Speaker 1: Then they went out and got what Zach Pascal that
- 8:36Speaker 1: year like as a as a four behind Watkins, I guess.
- 8:39Speaker 2: I mean, I know he came in I don't remember
- 8:40Speaker 2: if it was that same year, and he the enforcer.
- 8:43Speaker 1: You know, he was blocking, blocking receiver as we like.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Yeah, he was pretty good, but he he was physical. Yeah,
- 8:49Speaker 2: he brought an attitude, no doubt. So when you look
- 8:51Speaker 2: at this group, it's actually a good group. Now again,
- 8:56Speaker 2: how many of them are going to resign? How many
- 8:58Speaker 2: of them make it to market? But right, it's the
- 9:02Speaker 2: way I ranked him his pickings. Obviously he's not gonna
- 9:04Speaker 2: make it. Then. Mike Evans is a true ax demo.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Samuel was a move receiver. He could play X, he
- 9:11Speaker 2: could play Z. You line him m inside. You know
- 9:14Speaker 2: about the gadget stuff. Adam Peters, a GM was with
- 9:17Speaker 2: him with the Niners, so he's infinity for him. That
- 9:20Speaker 2: the Commandos of zero depth at receiver, they're really bad
- 9:23Speaker 2: in terms of depth. It's McLaurin and Samuel than everybody else,
- 9:28Speaker 2: so that you would think they'd want to resign him.
- 9:30Speaker 2: I mean, I know he's getting older and you know,
- 9:33Speaker 2: round thirty and he's got injuries. But guy's a good
- 9:36Speaker 2: football player.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, absolutely. The Mike Evans one, to me is unbelievable.
- 9:40Speaker 1: I mean, that's the kind of guy. Where again, if
- 9:43Speaker 1: you're like the Texans are the Bills, if you think
- 9:45Speaker 1: you're a really good, established receiver away from winning a
- 9:50Speaker 1: super Bowl, you might want to throw big one year
- 9:52Speaker 1: money YEP at him and make it worth it. So
- 9:56Speaker 1: ordinarily I would say he's gonna go back to timp
- 9:57Speaker 1: Bay because that's where he's been. But I don't know now,
- 10:00Speaker 1: might he might be ring chasing at this point, well
- 10:02Speaker 1: he already has one, but he might want here.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Here's sure, but here's a reason to leave a Mecca
- 10:09Speaker 2: Boca was a first round pick. They want him to
- 10:11Speaker 2: be a starter, right right, Chris Godwin is, Yeah, he's
- 10:16Speaker 2: locked in based on his structure, a lot of fully
- 10:19Speaker 2: guaranteed money, so uh, he'll be there. And Jamen McMillan,
- 10:24Speaker 2: they really like. It was the third round last year.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Unfortunately he missed almost all the season. Then when he
- 10:28Speaker 2: came back he was great.
- 10:30Speaker 1: He was yep.
- 10:34Speaker 2: And Test Johnson could run, so they'd be better with
- 10:37Speaker 2: him than without him. But on your point, the kind
- 10:42Speaker 2: of team, like if you're Mike Evans, yeah, if you
- 10:45Speaker 2: want to make another run Chargers, you're looking for the
- 10:51Speaker 2: Niners possibly. I'm just looking at teams that could use somebody.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Jwan Jennings is up. The Marcus Robinson, he's the plug
- 10:58Speaker 2: and play guy. Some how it gets already plays. Ricky
- 11:01Speaker 2: Piersoll has been He's missed more games that he's been
- 11:03Speaker 2: available for. Mm hmm. You're looking at teams that clearly
- 11:06Speaker 2: need a receiver. Those are a couple of them. Buffalo,
- 11:09Speaker 2: Oh my goodness, gracious, do they need one? Oh? Yeah,
- 11:12Speaker 2: because Keon Coleman, I don't know if you're ware of this,
- 11:15Speaker 2: Like apparently Terry Pogula put it on the former coaching
- 11:19Speaker 2: staff for Keon Coleman, who's been a bus so far
- 11:22Speaker 2: been extremely disappointing. Maturity and Brandon being the gym as
- 11:25Speaker 2: he didn't hit anything. Let's talk about the maturity problems
- 11:30Speaker 2: boy in the in the scouting world, I know you
- 11:32Speaker 2: and I know this boy. It was either you liked
- 11:35Speaker 2: him or you couldn't stand him.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 11:38Speaker 2: There was no love for him. He was like, oh,
- 11:40Speaker 2: you know, this guy could do it. He's an ex receiver.
- 11:42Speaker 2: He'll go get it, but he doesn't run very well.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Effort could be questioned. And then he got the maturity stuff. Yeah,
- 11:48Speaker 2: but when you look at this market for evans, it
- 11:52Speaker 2: should be robust. Tyi Hill as Andy Reid was asked
- 11:55Speaker 2: about it because he could because he was Tyer Kill
- 11:57Speaker 2: was cut so he could talk about him. M hm.
- 12:00Speaker 2: He's aware that Hill's got a devastating injury. Juan Jennings,
- 12:03Speaker 2: who I mentioned, who could line up inside or outside.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Romeo Dobbs, who certainly would be looking to start as
- 12:10Speaker 2: more of a he's more of a number two receiver.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Alec nine Rau Pierce, who had it unbelievable. I call
- 12:17Speaker 2: him nine round because that's really what he is. He
- 12:18Speaker 2: He has no versatility. But what he does is the
- 12:22Speaker 2: dude could flat out fly. Yeah, I mean almost everything
- 12:25Speaker 2: he has is deep. But man, he had a ridiculous
- 12:30Speaker 2: year for all the underachievement. He was overdrafted in the
- 12:32Speaker 2: second round by the Cults, but man, he only had
- 12:36Speaker 2: this is like ridiculous. He only had forty seven receptions
- 12:39Speaker 2: for one thousand and three yards twenty one point three
- 12:43Speaker 2: yards per catch. I mean that is big time. Yea,
- 12:46Speaker 2: so teams team. If he makes it to market, somebody
- 12:49Speaker 2: will overpay for a speed. It always happens.
- 12:52Speaker 1: I agree, I agree. I mean those are the guys
- 12:55Speaker 1: you just mentioned, like Dobbs, Pierce, Wandale Robinson. These guys
- 13:00Speaker 1: will probably get multi year deal. I mean, I would
- 13:03Speaker 1: imagine good Tyreek. We got to figure out where his
- 13:07Speaker 1: health status is. Can he run anymore? Can he do
- 13:09Speaker 1: anything that that's a big It wouldn't surfres me if
- 13:11Speaker 1: he was a lader because he may still have to
- 13:13Speaker 1: rehab to get ready. Jennings is an interesting one. Jennings
- 13:20Speaker 1: has been a good, productive middle of the field receiver
- 13:23Speaker 1: for the nine Niners, but he's always sort of wanted
- 13:26Speaker 1: more money, right. He's always made clear and I don't
- 13:28Speaker 1: know where his mindset is at. But if you can
- 13:30Speaker 1: get him on a one year deal, if you're the
- 13:32Speaker 1: Eagles and you're trying to a guy, yeah I know,
- 13:35Speaker 1: I know, it's probably gonna be too much. Yeah.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Yeah. Plus you don't even know how much eleven personnel
- 13:39Speaker 2: they're going to play. That's a great question.
- 13:42Speaker 1: I mean, you would think that they would play a
- 13:45Speaker 1: decent amount given the offense you're about to implement, unless
- 13:48Speaker 1: they were going to go more mcveighish and have more
- 13:51Speaker 1: tight ends. But I was thinking more what the Packers do,
- 13:54Speaker 1: which is more eleven personnel.
- 13:56Speaker 2: Well where you could say the previous McVeigh until last season,
- 13:59Speaker 2: where would always be near the top at eleven personnel.
- 14:02Speaker 2: It's a strange thing. They had so many tight ends.
- 14:05Speaker 2: He went to heavy thirteen personnel. Tay like people thought
- 14:08Speaker 2: there was something wrong, Like no, it's they didn't have
- 14:11Speaker 2: a great third receiver and they were absolutely loaded at
- 14:13Speaker 2: tight end. It's a smart coaching. But looking at our list,
- 14:16Speaker 2: here a Wandel Robinson. Boy, he's turned out to be
- 14:19Speaker 2: a player. He had a great season.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Yeah, he was a good you know, he was good
- 14:24Speaker 1: coming out of it was a second round pick, right, I.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Mean he was Kentucky.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Yeah, out of Kentucky, he should have been good. It's
- 14:29Speaker 1: just that he was on such an awful Giants team. Like,
- 14:31Speaker 1: it's not surprising me that he's finally, you know, coming
- 14:33Speaker 1: into his own a little bit. He had a quarterback
- 14:35Speaker 1: that can throw them the ball.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Last year in ACL injury early.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Yeah, that's too. I forgot about the ACL. Yeah.
- 14:40Speaker 2: Yeah, but man last year ninety two, ten, fourteen and four.
- 14:43Speaker 1: That's good.
- 14:44Speaker 2: He's a dynamic slot receiver. He's got great quicks, gadget stuff.
- 14:47Speaker 2: He's a really good player. He's gonna get paid. Yep,
- 14:50Speaker 2: He's absolutely gonna get paid. You gotta go, he's got
- 14:52Speaker 2: to go somewhere. Well, he doesn't have to be. He
- 14:55Speaker 2: doesn't have to go where they're going to play heavy eleven.
- 14:57Speaker 2: He's just the team's got playing as at the Z position.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 15:01Speaker 2: You gotta know how, you got to know how to
- 15:02Speaker 2: use him. I'm sure that Brian Dable would love to
- 15:06Speaker 2: have him in Tennessee, and I'm sure they've got a
- 15:08Speaker 2: lot of cap space. And now that that's cap sas
- 15:11Speaker 2: is nice. If it's all about cash, Ben, that's a
- 15:13Speaker 2: number one criteria for free agency. What's your cash, ben? Yep,
- 15:16Speaker 2: that owner is not. Like they've got the new stadium coming,
- 15:21Speaker 2: so we'll see how aggressive they are. The previous two
- 15:24Speaker 2: gms were aggressive.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Yep.
- 15:26Speaker 2: They got the green light to spend. So see what happens.
- 15:30Speaker 1: I tell you, what if the Falcons had some money,
- 15:31Speaker 1: because like, you already have a good X and Drake
- 15:34Speaker 1: London if you really want them to improve your middle
- 15:36Speaker 1: of the receiver kind of core, and you had some
- 15:39Speaker 1: money to spend, and you could pair a Wandale with
- 15:41Speaker 1: a with with Drake London and you got the running
- 15:44Speaker 1: game and pass the game with Beach. You're looking pretty good.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Problem though, here's problem. Here's the problem. They're paying money,
- 15:52Speaker 2: a lot of Darnell Mooney, a lot of money, and
- 15:55Speaker 2: it's it's you can't. You can't pay three receivers.
- 15:57Speaker 1: It's just not No, I can't do that.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Plus it just pits. Yeah, that's such a tough deal. Yeah,
- 16:05Speaker 2: I like to We don't know how much eleven personal
- 16:08Speaker 2: stfans he wants to run, but yeah, yeah, Hollywood Brown's
- 16:12Speaker 2: out there, man. He's just under achieved the last couple
- 16:14Speaker 2: of years with the Chiefs for whatever reason. Rachid Shaheed.
- 16:18Speaker 2: You would think Seattle won him back since they traded
- 16:20Speaker 2: for him. Good special teams for Turner explosive. Then they're
- 16:24Speaker 2: guys like there's a bunch of slots out there. Christian
- 16:28Speaker 2: kirk keenan Allen who showed it could still play. DeAndre
- 16:32Speaker 2: Hopkins is near the animal's career. Kenrick Borne is not
- 16:34Speaker 2: a bad thread. Now, that's the kind of guy. If
- 16:36Speaker 2: I'm the Eagles, I would sign for cheap money. Absolutely, man,
- 16:40Speaker 2: Kendrick Bourne is a good player.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree.
- 16:42Speaker 2: I agree.
- 16:43Speaker 1: And he's covering from a San Francisco offense is going
- 16:46Speaker 1: to have some similarities.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, good point everyone.

- 18:54Speaker 1: great prices, and an experience made for Philly fans twenty
- 18:57Speaker 1: one and up.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Then you got my guy, Taekwon Thornton, who was a
- 19:02Speaker 2: complete bust with New England as a second round pick.
- 19:05Speaker 2: H then he got pressed into service Hollywood Brown was
- 19:08Speaker 2: hurt and then uh Rachie Rice was suspended. They were
- 19:12Speaker 2: running out of receivers and he had to play, and
- 19:13Speaker 2: he was great in his role. He could run, he's
- 19:16Speaker 2: got length. He's always been a little bit thin, but
- 19:19Speaker 2: he'll be looking to get a little bit of coin.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Jujuis muth Schruster is not the oldest guy in the world,
- 19:24Speaker 2: but diminishing returns. Alambade Sakis who didn't work here. Josh
- 19:28Speaker 2: Reynolds is a not a bad backup X. You mentioned
- 19:32Speaker 2: Dotson earlier. Calvin Austin is a slot receiver who could
- 19:35Speaker 2: run it could return, and the immortal mvs Marquez Valdez
- 19:39Speaker 2: Scaling who could too. He's got to be at least
- 19:41Speaker 2: six teams.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Right Toami Brown, did I know he's on the list
- 19:46Speaker 1: in Keenan Allen those Alan's interesting because at this stave
- 19:49Speaker 1: of his career, he's a one year deal guy, and
- 19:52Speaker 1: so if he's trying to get a ring before it's
- 19:55Speaker 1: gone and you know, you can make your work. I
- 19:57Speaker 1: think that that would be the kind of guy, especially
- 19:59Speaker 1: the his route running precision inside outside, that gives you
- 20:02Speaker 1: good versatility. That's not a bad option. There a good
- 20:06Speaker 1: veteran option. You can do some things for you.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Yeah, DM Brown is healthy. Brown I believe missed the
- 20:12Speaker 2: decent amount of time last season. He's got really good size.
- 20:14Speaker 2: He could run a little bit. Yeah you remember, you
- 20:18Speaker 2: might remember from Washington previously. I think he signed for
- 20:20Speaker 2: one year and ten million last season with the Jaggy Wars. Yeah,
- 20:26Speaker 2: he didn't do anything. Twenty catches, twenty seven yards. Yeah
- 20:28Speaker 2: he didn't do much. Yeah, missed three games. But yeah,
- 20:32Speaker 2: I mean this is actually a deep group Eagles. Any
- 20:35Speaker 2: team out there looking for depth, you're gonna find that.
- 20:37Speaker 2: You're gonna find Adam feelin is near the Adam's career.
- 20:40Speaker 2: He's a slot. Their x's, their their z's, their slots,
- 20:44Speaker 2: their size, they're smaller guys there returners. It's actually a
- 20:48Speaker 2: pretty good group. But there was no one getting back
- 20:51Speaker 2: to the Eagles who could even remotely place replace a J. Brown.
- 20:53Speaker 2: Now I say that we're just we're having fun here.
- 20:57Speaker 2: Wouldn't be if they traded AJ Brown, right, and let's
- 20:59Speaker 2: say got like a first round pick, Okay, but they
- 21:03Speaker 2: still don't have that guy. Would you would you look
- 21:04Speaker 2: to sign Mike Evans for one year?
- 21:06Speaker 1: Absolutely? I think the good team should be aggressive on
- 21:09Speaker 1: a one year deal. Look, I'll give you a great team.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Right once you win the Super Bowl, all the eyes
- 21:13Speaker 1: are on you. The Seattle Seahawks won a Super Bowl
- 21:16Speaker 1: with as little firepower as possible, a great JSN. But
- 21:19Speaker 1: if they can sign Evans to a one year deal
- 21:22Speaker 1: to pair with JSN, if they lose a sheet, especially man,
- 21:25Speaker 1: you would look at them as way more equipped to
- 21:27Speaker 1: repeat as champions. So I think that that that's the
- 21:30Speaker 1: teams that should go after Evans. The good teams that
- 21:33Speaker 1: are one that have a little bit of money to spend,
- 21:35Speaker 1: they can give them a bigger one year deal.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Oh I got one. Particularly if the if the Pats
- 21:40Speaker 2: cut Stefan Diggs, is that that's that'd be a great spot.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Seattle.
- 21:45Speaker 2: I mean that was no, no, no, no, New England.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Uh yeah, yeah, but where where are you saying Seattle
- 21:53Speaker 1: would be a good spot if the Patriots cut him?
- 21:55Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no, I'm talking about Evans going to Oh.
- 21:59Speaker 2: I have to talk about them because they're going to
- 22:01Speaker 2: be in the market for it. MATC Collins has been
- 22:03Speaker 2: like a crazy well he played for what he is. Yeah,
- 22:06Speaker 2: gechem Booty did a good job. But that I know.
- 22:10Speaker 2: They're like Kyle Willams was at the rental last season,
- 22:12Speaker 2: but man boy, do they need some help on the outside.
- 22:16Speaker 2: That's a team that kind of shocked the world. We'll
- 22:19Speaker 2: see what they do. Mike Evans is kind of a
- 22:21Speaker 2: robo bust market again, folks, there's no excuse any team
- 22:24Speaker 2: that you're that you're a fan of. There's actually no
- 22:27Speaker 2: excuse for not getting a decent veteran receiver because there
- 22:30Speaker 2: are plenty of them that are going to be available.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Totally agree. I agree. I like this group. I think
- 22:36Speaker 1: that the deeper we got, the more you can see
- 22:40Speaker 1: some good one year deals for guys who can really
- 22:42Speaker 1: help make an impact for a team. So I think
- 22:44Speaker 1: of all the positions, because we went through quarterback and
- 22:46Speaker 1: we're like, eh, we went through running back and said,
- 22:48Speaker 1: you guys, guys can help you.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Guys can help you.
- 22:50Speaker 1: No one's gonna like transform your team, but there are
- 22:53Speaker 1: a few guys here. You signed these guys and they
- 22:55Speaker 1: could really really help you out and get you over
- 22:57Speaker 1: the hump, certainly fill a role that you need. So
- 23:01Speaker 1: that's it. That's the look at wide receivers in free agency.
- 23:05Speaker 1: In our next pub we'll do tight ends and some
- 23:07Speaker 1: interesting names in that group as well. That's going to
- 23:10Speaker 1: do it for this episode of Inside the Birds, the
- 23:12Speaker 1: leading podcast and Eagles Intel, and as always, we thank
- 23:15Speaker 1: you for flying with us Inside Ubberd
