- 0:22Speaker 3: we saw them in. First movie you think of. Favorite movie.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Best movie. Least favorite movie. Best chemistry in a movie.
- 0:28Speaker 3: Role they haven't played you'd like to see.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Best scene. Most overrated movie. Underrated movie.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Should have won an Oscar. Paycheck movie. The one that
- 0:35Speaker 3: got them paid in the future. This movie comes on.
- 0:39Speaker 3: I'm watching it. Best director for them and their Hall
- 0:42Speaker 3: of Fame performance. And we draft their career top 10
- 0:46Speaker 3: movies that we can't repeat on.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Kicking it off with Tony Baker.
- 0:52Speaker 3: The first movie you saw Leonardo DiCaprio in that you remember.
- 0:59Speaker 4: The first movie that I saw Leo DiCap in where
- 1:03Speaker 4: he really registered was, man, honestly, it probably wasn't until
- 1:13Speaker 4: The Quick and the Dead.
- 1:15Speaker 1: What year is that?
- 1:16Speaker 2: It was 95. It's a Western.
- 1:19Speaker 1: The Quick and the Dead?
- 1:20Speaker 2: The Quick and the Dead. I remember him being in
- 1:22Speaker 2: that joint.
- 1:24Speaker 4: But he was still just kind of like, oh, the kid,
- 1:27Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying? The kid in the Western.
- 1:30Speaker 4: But him really registering for real, for real, was Romeo
- 1:33Speaker 4: and Juliet.
- 1:34Speaker 1: For sure. That's what I was going to say.
- 1:36Speaker 2: That's when it was just like.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Romeo and Juliet for me, easy.
- 1:39Speaker 2: That's when I was just like, all right, this guy's
- 1:41Speaker 2: a lead.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Who was opposite him?
- 1:44Speaker 2: Claire Danes. Claire Danes.
- 1:47Speaker 4: And I, you know, I had not seen What's Eating
- 1:50Speaker 4: Gilbert Grape at that time. I still haven't seen The
- 1:52Speaker 4: Basketball Diaries. I didn't remember him on Growing Pains. I
- 1:57Speaker 4: didn't see This Boy's Life.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Growing Pains is a movie?
- 2:00Speaker 2: TV show.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Oh, TV's out.
- 2:02Speaker 2: TV's out.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:03Speaker 4: And Critters 3 I had never seen. So it was
- 2:05Speaker 4: really like. It was really the quick in the den.
- 2:08Speaker 4: I was like, oh, okay, this kid. But he really
- 2:11Speaker 4: resonated on Romeo and Juliet.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Who was the black dude in Romeo and Juliet?
- 2:14Speaker 2: That was Harold Paranaut, yeah.
- 2:17Speaker 1: It was, okay. Yeah, I remember thinking, this is a
- 2:19Speaker 1: weird movie.
- 2:21Speaker 2: I just didn't like the Shakespeare talk. I don't like
- 2:24Speaker 2: Art If Thou, man. Once you go Art If Thou,
- 2:27Speaker 2: I'm out.
- 2:30Speaker 4: Art Thou, Art Thou, I'm out, bro.
- 2:37Speaker 2: When they go on.
- 2:38Speaker 4: Those long periods of just talking that art of dial shit,
- 2:42Speaker 4: I check out. I'm at the hotel desk.
- 2:48Speaker 2: I'm checking out of Romeo and Juliet.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Just go ahead. As soon as you say that, you're done.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Oh, man, listen, man.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Did you check out Denzel McBath?
- 3:00Speaker 3: No.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Because of that.
- 3:01Speaker 2: I ain't even looked.
- 3:03Speaker 4: I watch everything Denzel's in. He's like the tragedy of Macbeth.
- 3:07Speaker 4: They talking to Shakespeare. I'll get around to it. Arteth thou,
- 3:12Speaker 4: arteth thou. Thou quest, thou night, thou sleepless, arteth thou.
- 3:18Speaker 4: Shut the hell up, William Shakespeare.
- 3:20Speaker 2: And I love his story.
- 3:23Speaker 4: The story skeletons be fired.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Arteth thou.
- 3:27Speaker 1: The way they get around to it. Just update it, man.
- 3:32Speaker 1: I need the message version of the Bible, man. King James.
- 3:36Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying?
- 3:38Speaker 4: That's why I don't be reading the Bible like that, man.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Lameness turns me up, man. King James, I need you
- 3:44Speaker 2: to be alive in the 60s. Rewrite.
- 3:48Speaker 1: So, mind you, Jesus. Okay, now, Jesus and his mom.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Come to find out.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Come to find out.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Now, get this.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:56Speaker 4: Then on top of that. Then on top of that.
- 3:59Speaker 4: Not to mention. What's crazy is Jesus wasn't the one
- 4:05Speaker 4: to be messed with. That's what I want. I'm sick
- 4:09Speaker 4: of art of thou. Thou thus, thou shalt.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Hush.
- 4:16Speaker 3: All right, so we're both on Romeo and Juliet.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Yeah. Now, gun to your head.
- 4:20Speaker 3: First movie you think of when I say Leonardo DiCaprio's name.
- 4:26Speaker 1: What pops in your mind?
- 4:30Speaker 4: Titanic, man. I know you hate that movie, man.
- 4:33Speaker 1: You know what?
- 4:34Speaker 2: Titanic.
- 4:36Speaker 1: I've been a little too harsh on Titanic. You are, man.
- 4:39Speaker 1: I'm a little too harsh.
- 4:40Speaker 2: It was a good movie.
- 4:40Speaker 3: I'm going to tell you my problem with Titanic. I
- 4:43Speaker 3: don't remember no other movie from my childhood that came
- 4:45Speaker 3: in two VCR tapes. That's your biggest beat? Man, and
- 4:49Speaker 3: it was me. It was a fat box. It was
- 4:52Speaker 3: a big booty box. We was watching it at my
- 4:56Speaker 3: cousin's house.
- 4:57Speaker 1: I was like, man, this is long.
- 4:58Speaker 2: And it ended.
- 5:00Speaker 1: They was like, yeah, put the next tape. And I
- 5:01Speaker 1: was like, man, what?
- 5:04Speaker 2: Another?
- 5:04Speaker 3: I didn't even know movies got that long.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Yeah. And it wasn't the first.
- 5:09Speaker 1: It's the first I remember. Yeah. I said, man, another tape.
- 5:13Speaker 2: I think Malcolm X had a big booty box.
- 5:16Speaker 3: I was in charge of the VCR that day.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Okay.
- 5:18Speaker 1: I watched that. I remember watching. And Malcolm X three
- 5:20Speaker 1: hours as well.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Man, I put that other tape in and they went
- 5:24Speaker 3: right back.
- 5:24Speaker 1: So then, Jack, I was like, oh my God, Lee.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Dang. It was funny, man.
- 5:32Speaker 4: You was probably enjoying the movie, but the fact that
- 5:35Speaker 4: I had put the next tape in.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Put the next tape in? Fuck this movie, man. Wait,
- 5:42Speaker 2: I thought you was enjoying it. I was until I
- 5:44Speaker 2: had to put another tape in.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Two tapes is crazy.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Now you got to rewind both tapes because you don't rewind,
- 5:52Speaker 3: they charge a fee. So rewind that tape, Kevin, then
- 5:55Speaker 3: put the first one back in and rewind that. I
- 5:56Speaker 3: was like, man, I hate Leonardo DiCaprio.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Get a whole mood change.
- 6:00Speaker 4: He was like, man, they really building something special. Now
- 6:05Speaker 4: you must put in another tape. I'm not even hungry
- 6:08Speaker 4: no more, man. Get this popcorn out of here, man.
- 6:11Speaker 4: Take me home.
- 6:12Speaker 2: You throw over here yourself. Take me home.
- 6:15Speaker 3: And also, I was 14 when Titanic came out, so
- 6:20Speaker 3: I expected it to be more about The ship crashing.
- 6:27Speaker 1: That ain't even until tape two.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:29Speaker 1: They started out with, was it Billy Zane?
- 6:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:32Speaker 3: They started out with him and Leo's poor and steerage
- 6:36Speaker 3: and stuff.
- 6:36Speaker 1: I was like, man, bro, blow the boat up, y'all.
- 6:39Speaker 2: That was the key, though. Nah, man.
- 6:42Speaker 4: You got to care about the people inside the boat
- 6:44Speaker 4: to make the movie hit more.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Nah, I get that. But at 14, I was like, man,
- 6:49Speaker 1: kill them people, y'all. Let's get to the crash. I
- 6:51Speaker 1: want to see this. Yeah.
- 6:54Speaker 3: I want to see, ahoy! They was talking, and Rose,
- 6:59Speaker 3: he was drawing. I didn't see, you know what I'm saying,
- 7:02Speaker 3: he was drawing.
- 7:02Speaker 1: I was like, all right, this is all right. Rose
- 7:04Speaker 1: was like, ooh.
- 7:05Speaker 3: I was like, okay, you know, little Nick's living on
- 7:09Speaker 3: Cobby's house.
- 7:10Speaker 4: Well, that's the only way you can get news is
- 7:12Speaker 4: you got to hand draw it yourself. You want to
- 7:15Speaker 4: see me naked, you got to draw it. I'd be
- 7:18Speaker 4: shit out of luck. I'm a stick figure McGee, dog.
- 7:22Speaker 4: A big ass head, two big ass titties.
- 7:26Speaker 2: A little W for the coochie.
- 7:28Speaker 4: A little W for the coochie and a big P
- 7:30Speaker 4: for the booty cheeks. And then your feet going to
- 7:33Speaker 4: be long in stick figure form.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 7:36Speaker 4: I'll just be over there just like, I got.
- 7:39Speaker 1: You, girl.
- 7:39Speaker 2: I'm going to turn that shit over.
- 7:42Speaker 4: She's going to be like micro penis.
- 7:48Speaker 2: If I had to draw you good.
- 7:51Speaker 1: You act like you're drawing good. I'm going to sell it.
- 7:55Speaker 2: I just want to get the shadows just right. It's
- 7:59Speaker 2: all stick figures over here.
- 8:02Speaker 1: You see them feet being. What the hell was you
- 8:05Speaker 1: doing all the shading for? I just knew if I
- 8:07Speaker 1: turned it around fast, you was going to know.
- 8:09Speaker 2: I would be doing all this.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Hold on.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Let me erase.
- 8:16Speaker 1: This thing's been done for two hours.
- 8:20Speaker 4: This is going to be a stick figure with just
- 8:22Speaker 4: blackness all around it because that's when I was shading.
- 8:30Speaker 2: That's all I got, girl. Let me get the goods.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Let me get the goods, please, man. I can't draw.
- 8:37Speaker 1: The feet are longer than the titties.
- 8:39Speaker 4: The feet are going to be long as hell, man.
- 8:42Speaker 4: Why that feet so long? It was.
- 8:44Speaker 1: I can't draw feet. I never could.
- 8:47Speaker 2: I could never get the feet correct.
- 8:49Speaker 1: You got the sun in the corner.
- 8:50Speaker 3: You remember how I used to do the sun with
- 8:52Speaker 3: the little feet and five long?
- 8:54Speaker 2: Rays coming down. Why my titties so hard looking? I
- 8:58Speaker 2: couldn't get the nuance.
- 9:01Speaker 4: If I tried to give the real shape, then it
- 9:03Speaker 4: would look like Water drops.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Just let me get the goods, man. I can't draw.
- 9:11Speaker 3: I can't imagine nudes throughout history. You imagine getting a
- 9:14Speaker 3: nude with the camera that exploded? Like....
- 9:19Speaker 2: They got to hold the separate light. All right, hold still.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Clink!
- 9:27Speaker 2: God, no!
- 9:29Speaker 4: Send that to her. All right, we got to let
- 9:31Speaker 4: it develop. You got to go to the dark room.
- 9:35Speaker 4: You got to hang the picture up. You got to
- 9:38Speaker 4: come in there and check on it.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 9:40Speaker 2: I look fat in this. Let's redo it. Man, I
- 9:43Speaker 2: ain't got no more bulbs left. Damn it.
- 9:48Speaker 1: You got to squeeze the bulb.
- 9:49Speaker 2: You got to do the bulbs every time.
- 9:52Speaker 1: It took six hours.
- 9:56Speaker 2: The ball be like, I'm gone, yo. It's a one
- 10:00Speaker 2: and done. Oh, snap.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Okay.
- 10:06Speaker 3: All right, now, so... Your favorite Leonardo DiCaprio movie. It
- 10:12Speaker 3: don't matter who else.
- 10:14Speaker 1: It is a favorite, too.
- 10:15Speaker 3: And you done picked two movies of me, so the
- 10:17Speaker 3: third better be different. I'm coming for you once again.
- 10:20Speaker 3: There ain't no way you're going to pick the same one.
- 10:22Speaker 2: I'm coming for you once again, Kev.
- 10:23Speaker 1: There ain't no way.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Now, this is tough.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Yes, he's got a lot of movies.
- 10:31Speaker 2: When I go for.
- 10:32Speaker 4: Pure Leo movie that I love the most, I gotta
- 10:39Speaker 4: go to Departed.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Thank God. I gotta go to Departed, man. It's a
- 10:45Speaker 1: great movie.
- 10:46Speaker 4: That movie was just fantastic, top to bottom.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Beginning to end. Beginning to end.
- 10:53Speaker 4: I was on the edge of my seat that whole movie, man.
- 10:57Speaker 4: By the time the movie went off, I wasn't even
- 10:59Speaker 4: sitting on the seat.
- 11:00Speaker 2: I was like.
- 11:07Speaker 2: I was down here by the time that shit went on.
- 11:10Speaker 1: I was.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Out the seat and he got clapped.
- 11:18Speaker 3: I still can't believe that dude killed him in the elevator, man.
- 11:22Speaker 1: I said, ain't no way.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Crazy.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Ain't no way. Because you got to have the double mole.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Double mole. You think there's only one of us, man?
- 11:33Speaker 2: Double mole.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Absolutely not.
- 11:35Speaker 3: We got a different answer. My answer, my favorite movie,
- 11:40Speaker 3: Catch Me If You Can.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Okay, all right. Your pick was safe.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Because if I didn't go to the party, it was
- 11:47Speaker 2: going to be Inception. Then Catch Me If You Can.
- 11:49Speaker 1: See, yes.
- 11:51Speaker 3: Actually, Inception, I rank higher as my top five movies.
- 11:56Speaker 4: But Catch Me If You Can is just a fun,
- 12:00Speaker 4: good movie.
- 12:02Speaker 3: My favorite scene in that movie, Leo was at his best.
- 12:07Speaker 3: when he filled his wallet up full of the stuff
- 12:10Speaker 3: from the room service and around the room, man, that
- 12:13Speaker 3: wallet had ketchup stuff on it.
- 12:15Speaker 1: And Tom Hanks was so mad, man. He looked out
- 12:18Speaker 1: the window. Man, that was brilliant. So yeah, that's my favorite.
- 12:27Speaker 1: That's my favorite movie.
- 12:28Speaker 3: All right.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Best movie.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Best movie.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Best.
- 12:37Speaker 3: To me, man, Inception probably is his best movie to me.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Inception to me is perfect.
- 12:47Speaker 1: That is a great.
- 12:48Speaker 3: That's Christopher Nolan doing Christopher Nolan stuff, but in the
- 12:51Speaker 3: best way. Yeah.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Because he didn't play with time much in the Batman movies.
- 12:56Speaker 2: No.
- 12:56Speaker 3: But the rest of his movie, actually, The Prestige either.
- 13:00Speaker 3: But he always plays with time. He was jumping around
- 13:03Speaker 3: in The Prestige.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Was it a lot? I don't remember a huge amount
- 13:07Speaker 1: of time.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Not a lot for Chris Manone, but it was.
- 13:09Speaker 1: A few flashbacks.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Substantial, yeah.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:12Speaker 1: But Inception, it was the perfect amount of.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Also, Inception was a really interesting premise to me.
- 13:19Speaker 2: The premise was amazing.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I was like.
- 13:21Speaker 2: That premise was fantastic. It just... The world that they built,
- 13:25Speaker 2: the rules within that premise... Yes. The practical effects, the tension,
- 13:31Speaker 2: the stakes, it was just... The acting... Yeah, the ensemble cast.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Yes.
- 13:38Speaker 2: The ending was perfect.
- 13:41Speaker 1: That was great with the totem and the top.
- 13:46Speaker 2: I would say that's his best movie.
- 13:47Speaker 1: That's his best movie, man.
- 13:50Speaker 2: If I could do this.
- 13:51Speaker 1: If I even could. He was like, I promise you
- 13:55Speaker 1: I cannot.
- 13:56Speaker 2: But I will try.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Oh, he said, I can't guarantee it.
- 14:00Speaker 1: What did he say?
- 14:01Speaker 3: Who?
- 14:02Speaker 1: The Asian dude.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Ken Watanabe.
- 14:04Speaker 5: Yeah. Hold on. Even if I could do this. What
- 14:13Speaker 5: did he say? Oh, there it is.
- 14:18Speaker 1: I need a guarantee.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Guarantee.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Oh.
- 14:19Speaker 2: I know you can deliver. Yeah. You don't. But I can.
- 14:24Speaker 3: But I can.
- 14:25Speaker 1: That's what it is.
- 14:27Speaker 2: You don't, but I can. Him being old. All right, Josh.
- 14:30Speaker 2: All right, Josh.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Him being an old man. It's just a great movie, man.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:36Speaker 1: That was just, man.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Deception was fire.
- 14:38Speaker 1: All right, cool.
- 14:40Speaker 3: Least favorite movie. I'm really curious what yours is going
- 14:43Speaker 3: to be because I know mine. And I got a
- 14:47Speaker 3: vendetta against this movie. And I'm okay if I'm alone.
- 14:53Speaker 2: My least favorite Leo movie, man. I think I know
- 14:56Speaker 2: what you're going to pick.
- 14:57Speaker 1: You do know what I'm going to pick. I hate
- 15:01Speaker 1: that movie.
- 15:03Speaker 2: I'm going to probably have to go with my least favorite.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Probably The Beach.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Oh, I didn't see that.
- 15:16Speaker 4: Yeah, I saw it in theaters, man. This was after Titanic.
- 15:21Speaker 4: This was like his first movie after Titanic.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Um.
- 15:26Speaker 4: Actually, The Man in the Iron Mask came out after
- 15:28Speaker 4: Titanic as well, but The Beach was just like.
- 15:30Speaker 1: I don't remember this at all, Tony.
- 15:31Speaker 4: There's a reason why you didn't remember it. It was
- 15:35Speaker 4: mad forgettable, man.
- 15:36Speaker 1: What was it about?
- 15:38Speaker 2: I can't even tell you, man. But they was on
- 15:40Speaker 2: The Beach.
- 15:41Speaker 1: He was 26 in this?
- 15:42Speaker 2: It's a Danny Boyle movie.
- 15:44Speaker 1: He looks super young.
- 15:46Speaker 3: 26?
- 15:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:52Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm going to go with The Beach. That's the
- 15:54Speaker 4: one where I was just like, man, watch out, man.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Watch out.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Who's Danny Boyle known for?
- 16:01Speaker 2: 28 Days Later. Oh, yeah, Trace.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Love Dog Millionaire. Oh, yeah, 28 years later.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Great director, but that movie just wasn't it, man.
- 16:10Speaker 1: That's okay. Mine is Shutter Island.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Oh, that wasn't what I thought you was going to pick.
- 16:16Speaker 1: You going to pick The Revenant?
- 16:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Yeah, no.
- 16:18Speaker 1: The Revenant had good parts.
- 16:19Speaker 4: I don't like Shutter Island the way everybody else does either.
- 16:23Speaker 2: I can't say this is worse.
- 16:24Speaker 1: I hated.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Damn.
- 16:27Speaker 1: Not hated.
- 16:27Speaker 2: I don't like it the way everybody else does.
- 16:30Speaker 1: I don't like, man. I thought that the twist, I
- 16:32Speaker 1: was like, man, nah. Yeah.
- 16:35Speaker 3: I don't like Shutter Island. I remember being like, I
- 16:39Speaker 3: feel like it was a worse version of A Beautiful Mind.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Beautiful Mind nailed that thing. Shut her out. And I
- 16:46Speaker 1: was like, what, man?
- 16:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:48Speaker 2: I didn't like the twist either.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Man, get out of here.
- 16:51Speaker 2: All this was fake. All this was pranks.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Man, watch out.
- 16:54Speaker 4: That movie was prank island. Mark Ruffalo fumbling as the
- 17:01Speaker 4: fake cop.
- 17:01Speaker 1: Watch.
- 17:02Speaker 3: I said, man, I remember being in the theater like,
- 17:04Speaker 3: all right, man, I don't even like popcorn now. And
- 17:07Speaker 3: I saw that out of town. I had a show somewhere.
- 17:09Speaker 3: And I was so hyped. We went as a group
- 17:11Speaker 3: to see it. I think we were in Chicago.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:13Speaker 1: And I was just like, man, let's see Shutter Island, y'all.
- 17:15Speaker 1: And everybody was like, yeah, yeah.
- 17:16Speaker 2: And then we left.
- 17:17Speaker 1: We were like, man, can't watch you. I was like, man,
- 17:20Speaker 1: it was.
- 17:20Speaker 2: A lot of people like that movie, though.
- 17:22Speaker 1: People love that movie.
- 17:24Speaker 2: I'm not one of them, though.
- 17:25Speaker 1: I don't like that movie.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Martin Scorsese, man. Was it him?
- 17:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Let's stick to the mob stuff, man. Shut up and dribble, Martin.
- 17:35Speaker 1: All right, next up. Best chemistry in a movie.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Him and Kate had that chemistry, man. They did.
- 17:51Speaker 3: That's what makes Titanic. I got a love story between them.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Even in Revolutionary Road, they had that chemistry again.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:01Speaker 2: So I got to go with him and Kate. Him
- 18:03Speaker 2: and Kate Winslet is the two.
- 18:06Speaker 1: I'm going to go Tom Hanks.
- 18:09Speaker 2: He had great chemistry, and he'd catch me if he can.
- 18:10Speaker 3: That cat and mouse game, and then they're on each
- 18:14Speaker 3: other's side, and then when Leo tries to let go,
- 18:17Speaker 3: and Tom's like.
- 18:17Speaker 1: I'm going to let you fly. Ain't nobody out here.
- 18:20Speaker 1: That cat and mouse doesn't work without their chemistry. Yeah.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Because he was just escaping.
- 18:26Speaker 3: Because you know Tom Hanks is smart, but Leo's just
- 18:29Speaker 3: a little smarter.
- 18:31Speaker 1: And he's young Frank Abagnale.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Abagnale?
- 18:36Speaker 1: And Christopher Walken, he had good chemistry.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Christopher Walken was great in there. They had a great father-son.
- 18:41Speaker 3: It was perfect, man. But yeah, I think him and
- 18:44Speaker 3: Tom was just.
- 18:48Speaker 3: I just love that movie. But Kate Winslet.
- 18:53Speaker 4: That chemistry is what propelled that movie to the highest
- 18:58Speaker 4: grossing movie of all time.
- 18:59Speaker 1: What was it at?
- 19:01Speaker 2: When it was initially released?
- 19:02Speaker 1: What was the number that it kind of plateaued at?
- 19:06Speaker 2: I think worldwide. Was it 1.7?
- 19:12Speaker 1: Billion? Worldwide.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Let me double check on the worldwide.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Box office nerd here.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Box office nerd here.
- 19:18Speaker 1: What happened to your finger?
- 19:21Speaker 4: Oh, I slammed it in the refrigerator. And I don't
- 19:23Speaker 4: know how I was able to pull it off.
- 19:26Speaker 2: But I slammed it.
- 19:28Speaker 1: In the opening part?
- 19:29Speaker 4: I was trying to switch from the refrigerator to the
- 19:32Speaker 4: freezer too fast. And I slammed my finger up in the.
- 19:37Speaker 4: That shit hurt like hell. Oh, it's at 2.2 billion.
- 19:41Speaker 3: Dang!
- 19:42Speaker 2: They did re-releases.
- 19:46Speaker 1: How many?
- 19:46Speaker 4: I don't know how many re-releases they did, but I
- 19:49Speaker 4: know it added to the... But it said right now,
- 19:53Speaker 4: 674 domestic, 1.5 worldwide, 2.2 billion. That's chemistry, man.
- 20:00Speaker 1: 2.2 billion dollars for one movie?
- 20:04Speaker 2: That's crazy. Golly!
- 20:07Speaker 1: That's Mm-hmm. James Cameron, man.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Jimmy Cameron, though.
- 20:14Speaker 1: He know how to get to the money.
- 20:16Speaker 2: He do.
- 20:17Speaker 1: He know how to make a... Is there more of
- 20:19Speaker 1: a blockbuster director than him?
- 20:21Speaker 2: Probably not.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Nobody come close to his box office revenue.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Per pound?
- 20:26Speaker 1: Per pound or cumulative.
- 20:29Speaker 4: Well, Steven Spielberg is more cumulative.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Steven Spielberg more?
- 20:36Speaker 2: Yeah. Overall, because he got more movies.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Really?
- 20:40Speaker 4: Because if you think about Jurassic Park, E.T., Jaws, Raiders
- 20:48Speaker 4: of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom, Last Crusade.
- 20:51Speaker 1: That's some rap.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Yeah. That's some rap.
- 20:54Speaker 3: E.T.
- 20:54Speaker 2: E.T.
- 20:55Speaker 4: Was the highest grossing movie at one point in time.
- 20:57Speaker 4: Then Jurassic Park beat it.
- 20:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:59Speaker 1: It's him beating him.
- 21:01Speaker 2: You know, Saving Private Ryan.
- 21:03Speaker 1: You right.
- 21:04Speaker 2: James Cameron just doesn't make as many movies.
- 21:05Speaker 4: But if you go pound for pound, it's James Cameron
- 21:09Speaker 4: all day.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Avatar.
- 21:12Speaker 4: To make the highest grossing movie of all time is
- 21:14Speaker 4: already a feat. But to beat your own record.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Let me give it to you straight up.
- 21:19Speaker 2: It's crazy.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Steven Spielberg. It's closer than you think.
- 21:22Speaker 2: $ 11.
- 21:22Speaker 3: 3 billion for Stevie Spiels.
- 21:28Speaker 1: James Cameron, 10.59 billion.
- 21:31Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 21:31Speaker 3: Number one movie for Steve is 1.05. Number one for
- 21:36Speaker 3: James is 2.92. Third is 6.8 billion for the Russo brothers.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Look at that gap.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Yeah. Almost half.
- 21:45Speaker 2: That gap is crazy.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Peter Jackson is fourth.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Really?
- 21:49Speaker 1: Lord of the Rings.
- 21:50Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 21:50Speaker 1: 6.5.
- 21:51Speaker 2: And he did The Hobbits, too.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Yep. Michael Bay is fifth.
- 21:55Speaker 2: 6.5. Where's Christopher Nolan at?
- 21:58Speaker 1: I'm about to go down more.
- 22:00Speaker 2: He creeping up, though.
- 22:01Speaker 1: David Yates is seven.
- 22:03Speaker 2: Harry Potter.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Harry Potter. Ridley Scott is eight. Oh. Tim Burton is nine. Okay.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Andrew Stanton, 10. Toy Story.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Oh, okay. Man, what's that?
- 22:14Speaker 1: What are you asking for?
- 22:15Speaker 2: Christopher Nolan. Where he at?
- 22:17Speaker 1: He ain't even in the top 10. 11, 12.
- 22:19Speaker 2: When they make this list?
- 22:21Speaker 1: This is Wikipedia.
- 22:23Speaker 2: I wonder how up to date.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Oh, you talking about the Odyssey?
- 22:28Speaker 4: Was this the Odyssey, Inception, Batman, Dark Knight trilogy? Where
- 22:32Speaker 4: Christopher Nolan at, man?
- 22:34Speaker 1: This might not be right then.
- 22:35Speaker 4: Because the Dark Knight and the Dark Knight Rises cleared
- 22:38Speaker 4: a billion each on their own.
- 22:40Speaker 2: That's two.
- 22:43Speaker 1: This is top 50 and I don't see Christopher Nolan yet.
- 22:46Speaker 2: That list is forfeit.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Let me see if there's another article.
- 22:51Speaker 2: All right, here we go.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Let's go to IMDb.
- 22:54Speaker 2: They'll know.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Wikipedia, that ain't been updated. Okay, Stevie Spiels. Oh, this
- 23:00Speaker 1: ain't right. Because they got Robert Zemeckis, too.
- 23:03Speaker 2: That's number two? Maccabee, three.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Maccabee, four. Ron Howard, five. George Lucas. This has Christopher Nolan, nine.
- 23:12Speaker 2: This is gross?
- 23:14Speaker 1: IMDb, yeah. This doesn't have the numbers on it, though.
- 23:17Speaker 2: Watch out, man. Hold on.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Man, go to your numbers thing.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Hold on.
- 23:34Speaker 4: Right now, today, Christopher Nolan is sitting at $ 7. 7 billion
- 23:38Speaker 4: to $ 8 billion total box office.
- 23:39Speaker 1: God dog.
- 23:40Speaker 4: So that would put him ahead of the Russo brothers,
- 23:42Speaker 4: but still behind James and Steve.
- 23:46Speaker 1: All right, here we go.
- 23:46Speaker 2: That's making sense.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Stevie Spills. This has Christopher Nolan number three. This has
- 23:55Speaker 3: Steven Spielberg, 11.17 billion. James Cameron, 10.3. Christopher Nolan, 8.3.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Now we cooking.
- 24:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:01Speaker 3: Joe Russo. Joe and Anthony Russo, 6.8. Peter Jackson, 6.5.
- 24:05Speaker 3: Michael Bay. Davey Yates. Ridley Scott.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Tim Burton. Jon Favreau. Jon Favreau.
- 24:10Speaker 2: Because them Iron Man. Iron Man and the Jungle Book.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Yeah. And the Jungle Book. J.J.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Abrams.
- 24:14Speaker 1: He got them Star Wars movies. Ron Howard. Ron Howard.
- 24:19Speaker 3: 4.4.
- 24:19Speaker 2: That's respectable.
- 24:21Speaker 1: What did he do that was that crazy?
- 24:22Speaker 4: Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind, Backdraft.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Rush, Caligari Stole Christmas. Sam Raimi, them Spider-Mans.
- 24:31Speaker 2: Yep.
- 24:32Speaker 1: And then number 15 is Robert Zemeckis.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 24:35Speaker 4: Back to the Future. Who framed Roger Rabbit? Oh, thank
- 24:39Speaker 4: God for Jessica Rabbit.
- 24:40Speaker 2: What lies beneath? I'm a nerd, man.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Yes, you are.
- 24:47Speaker 3: We should always have something that we nerd about, man.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 24:51Speaker 1: It's unhealthy to not nerd out about something.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Gotta nerd about something, man.
- 24:56Speaker 3: That's what you... What are you over-indexing on, man? You
- 25:02Speaker 3: gotta have something that you care about.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:03Speaker 2: Okay?
- 25:05Speaker 1: You gotta deep dive on something.
- 25:07Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Football, trading cards, Pokemans.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Something.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Something.
- 25:13Speaker 4: All right.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Next up. Role they haven't played in a movie that
- 25:19Speaker 1: you'd like to see them play. He ain't been in
- 25:33Speaker 1: a comedy, has he?
- 25:35Speaker 2: Wolf of Wall Street is a comedy.
- 25:37Speaker 3: Man, that scene when he was dancing and then the scene.
- 25:44Speaker 4: Wolf of Wall Street is a straight up comedy. I
- 25:47Speaker 4: don't care what nobody say. That shit was mad ridiculous.
- 25:51Speaker 3: When you cut to him and he thought he walked
- 25:53Speaker 3: to the car and he was on Quaaludes, I laughed
- 25:56Speaker 3: out loud.
- 25:58Speaker 4: That was physical Jim Carrey level comedy. It was ridiculous.
- 26:08Speaker 4: Wolf of Wall Street is pure comedy.
- 26:10Speaker 1: It ain't pure.
- 26:11Speaker 4: I mean.
- 26:13Speaker 2: Kind of is, man. Newcastle's ridiculous, though.
- 26:16Speaker 1: I want Leonardo DiCaprio in a Wayans Brothers movie.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Oh, you want it straight up.
- 26:20Speaker 3: Slapstick, Dumb and Dumber 3 with Leo. Because he's funny.
- 26:25Speaker 2: He is funny. I would like to see Leo in
- 26:27Speaker 2: a straight up, for sure, comedy.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Straight up comedy. Yeah.
- 26:32Speaker 2: With the Wayans Brothers. I would like to see that.
- 26:35Speaker 2: I would like to see that.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Oh, brother.
- 26:39Speaker 3: At least you're an attractive nerd. Man, get off his dick.
- 26:44Speaker 3: I already got to deal with this. You know how
- 26:46Speaker 3: many homegirls text me about Tony? I'd be like, man,
- 26:48Speaker 3: DM him. Tony's still on them vegetables?
- 26:53Speaker 1: What kind of question is this? What are you even asking?
- 26:55Speaker 3: Tony's still like, he's still a vegan?
- 26:57Speaker 1: He ain't even a vegan.
- 26:58Speaker 2: Oh.
- 27:01Speaker 1: My homegirls, same homegirls check in every nine months. Tony's
- 27:04Speaker 1: still with that girl.
- 27:05Speaker 3: Whole time he was Sabrina, they're still together.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Man, you see them on Instagram.
- 27:12Speaker 3: Stop coming through me. I ain't hating Nana P27. I
- 27:16Speaker 3: ain't even about complimenting me. Tony got DMs. Homegirls text me.
- 27:23Speaker 3: I got some celery for him.
- 27:24Speaker 1: What does that even mean?
- 27:25Speaker 2: I got some celery for him.
- 27:28Speaker 3: Tony still like the vegetables. I know he likes peanut butter.
- 27:31Speaker 3: I'll put it in a place he'll like. Man, stop
- 27:33Speaker 3: telling me that. I don't want to hear that stuff.
- 27:38Speaker 3: He ain't a dog. Just put peanut butter on your
- 27:41Speaker 3: coochie so Tony can lick it, man. Oh, don't say
- 27:44Speaker 3: that stuff to me.
- 27:45Speaker 4: Oh.
- 27:46Speaker 1: That's why my DM's is closed.
- 27:48Speaker 2: All right.
- 27:48Speaker 1: Straight up comedy. Somebody in here said a serial killer.
- 27:52Speaker 2: I thought about that. He was supposed to play one.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Who?
- 27:55Speaker 4: He was supposed to play this serial killer called H.H.
- 27:59Speaker 4: Holmes or something.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Is that a real person?
- 28:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:02Speaker 4: He had like this big ass mansion that he was
- 28:06Speaker 4: killing people in.
- 28:07Speaker 2: And it was set up for his murders. Oh, snap.
- 28:11Speaker 2: He had trap doors and all kind of shit.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:14Speaker 4: And I kept reading about him being attached to this,
- 28:18Speaker 4: but then I don't know.
- 28:20Speaker 1: I never heard about this.
- 28:21Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 28:22Speaker 4: So I don't know if that's still in development. I
- 28:24Speaker 4: don't know if that's still something he wanted to do.
- 28:26Speaker 4: But it was definitely something I read about several times.
- 28:29Speaker 3: I think he could play. He does a good villain role.
- 28:35Speaker 3: in Django, even though it's a small role. But a
- 28:40Speaker 3: straight-up villain, murderer, psychopath.
- 28:44Speaker 2: That'd be great.
- 28:44Speaker 3: That'd be great for him. He's a great actor. He
- 28:46Speaker 3: was so good in that Paul Thomas Anderson movie. I'm
- 28:51Speaker 3: blanking on the name.
- 28:52Speaker 2: One battle.
- 28:54Speaker 3: Man, when he was at the parent-teacher conference, he was
- 28:56Speaker 3: trying to vape and stuff. He was like, what you
- 28:57Speaker 3: got going with all the presidents?
- 29:00Speaker 1: He was just a really believable as that character. He was.
- 29:02Speaker 2: He was funny.
- 29:04Speaker 1: In that, too. When he didn't know the answer.
- 29:05Speaker 4: When he didn't know the password. That was funny as hell, dog.
- 29:09Speaker 1: I'm going to kill you, man.
- 29:11Speaker 3: I'm high. Tone, I smell his. It was a stupid
- 29:18Speaker 3: darkest son of Christ. He was like, I'm going to
- 29:20Speaker 3: kill you. And I love that he didn't let it
- 29:22Speaker 3: go when they got him.
- 29:25Speaker 1: Hey, put the manager on the phone. Man, I'm going
- 29:28Speaker 1: to kill you.
- 29:29Speaker 2: It was hilarious in that movie.
- 29:30Speaker 1: It was so funny.
- 29:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:32Speaker 1: It was real. It was realistic. all right.
- 29:38Speaker 3: Leonardo dicaprio's best scene in a movie oh that's this
- 29:43Speaker 3: is tough man this is really tough because i'm man
- 29:50Speaker 3: he has so many standout roles but I'm off the top.
- 29:53Speaker 3: I'm struggling for like a singular.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Right.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Me too.
- 29:56Speaker 3: Theme that is like, Oh my God, this is, if
- 29:59Speaker 3: you gotta be like, man, who's Leo? What would you
- 30:01Speaker 3: even show them?
- 30:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:04Speaker 4: He had a great scene in revolutionary road when they
- 30:07Speaker 4: were arguing back and forth. Um, he had a great
- 30:14Speaker 4: scene in that, like the emotions in that scene.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Was just crazy. Um, I'm blanking on that. Yeah, a
- 30:28Speaker 2: particular scene is tough.
- 30:32Speaker 4: The scene where he discovers that his mom is dead
- 30:34Speaker 4: and what's he eating, Gilbert Grape?
- 30:38Speaker 2: That's another one that stands out.
- 30:39Speaker 1: You know what?
- 30:40Speaker 3: I'm going to go with you, Tamera. The dinner table
- 30:43Speaker 3: scene in Django.
- 30:45Speaker 2: That was a good scene.
- 30:46Speaker 1: And he made his hand bleed by mistake. Yeah. That was.
- 30:53Speaker 2: That was a good scene, too.
- 30:54Speaker 1: That's a good scene.
- 30:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:56Speaker 1: Yeah. The bear attack. I hate, man.
- 30:59Speaker 2: Oh, God.
- 31:01Speaker 1: The Revenant is so pretentious, man. I hate that.
- 31:05Speaker 3: That movie is spoiled for me. I just don't think
- 31:09Speaker 3: that movie was that. Man, I don't care about that movie.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Natural Light, man. Shut up.
- 31:20Speaker 3: I'm going with Tamra Tips won. The dinner scene in Django.
- 31:24Speaker 1: Okay.
- 31:27Speaker 3: He was legit terrifying for a second there.
- 31:31Speaker 1: And that blood and Sam.
- 31:36Speaker 2: He got a lot of great scenes, though.
- 31:38Speaker 1: He has a few good scenes in the Diamond movie.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Blood Diamond. Yeah, yeah.
- 31:44Speaker 1: He's got a few good scenes in there with Jaimon. Yeah.
- 31:48Speaker 4: He got great scenes in The Departed. His desperation and
- 31:51Speaker 4: panic in The Departed.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right.
- 31:54Speaker 3: Acting-wise, I think what draws me to Leo, man, you
- 31:58Speaker 3: believe him.
- 31:59Speaker 2: You believe him every time.
- 32:00Speaker 3: That desperation in The Departed, he looked like, I'm going
- 32:03Speaker 3: to get found out.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Yeah. And I'm going to be killed.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Get me out of here.
- 32:08Speaker 1: And Martin Sheen was doing a good job. Like, we
- 32:10Speaker 1: almost got it.
- 32:11Speaker 2: Right.
- 32:11Speaker 1: But you could see Leo like, oh, my God, man.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Nah.
- 32:15Speaker 5: Right.
- 32:15Speaker 3: Remember when they thought they knew who the cop was
- 32:17Speaker 3: and the two dudes was outside? Bro, he was like
- 32:19Speaker 3: wringing his hands with fear.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:22Speaker 2: That movie was pure tension.
- 32:24Speaker 1: Oh, booty cheeks clenched. Tight. Uncut gems level of tension.
- 32:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:29Speaker 4: That's what I like about Leo and Denzel. People always
- 32:33Speaker 4: give them the criticism, they be the same person.
- 32:35Speaker 2: I don't care. Do I believe you every time I
- 32:40Speaker 2: see you? I believe Leo and Denzel. Every time I
- 32:45Speaker 2: see them.
- 32:46Speaker 1: 100% of the time, every time.
- 32:47Speaker 2: That's what's important to me.
- 32:49Speaker 4: You get props for being a chameleon that's cool, but
- 32:52Speaker 4: sometimes if you're a chameleon into somebody I don't care.
- 32:54Speaker 2: About, then it's null and void. I don't see you, man.
- 32:58Speaker 2: I'll just be like, man, watch out.
- 32:59Speaker 4: Daniel Day-Lewis is probably the greatest skilled actor I've ever seen.
- 33:05Speaker 2: But some of his movies, I'll just be like, watch out.
- 33:09Speaker 3: And also, Leo's great in Gangs of New York.
- 33:12Speaker 4: Well... But he was up against Daniel Day-Lewis, so he
- 33:15Speaker 4: was looking mad pedestrian. When Leo was in Game of
- 33:20Speaker 4: New York with Daniel Day, it was.
- 33:24Speaker 2: The gap was far.
- 33:26Speaker 1: You think so?
- 33:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Because Leo's character was just too....
- 33:33Speaker 2: It was just too cut and dry.
- 33:34Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 33:35Speaker 2: And Daniel Day is having the time of his goddamn life.
- 33:38Speaker 1: And he gets.
- 33:39Speaker 3: They often cast him with an ability to go to
- 33:42Speaker 3: the max.
- 33:43Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 33:43Speaker 1: You know, old... I mean.
- 33:46Speaker 2: There will be blood.
- 33:47Speaker 3: There will be blood. I'm about to say old blood
- 33:50Speaker 3: for men. Old blood for country men. Bloody men in
- 33:53Speaker 3: the country. There will be blood.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Because he's just... I drink your milkshake.
- 33:59Speaker 2: Drink it up.
- 34:01Speaker 1: But he just gets... Or he doesn't. But when he
- 34:05Speaker 1: was your boy, what was his character's name in?
- 34:09Speaker 2: The Butcher.
- 34:11Speaker 1: The Butcher. He gets to go there. Yeah.
- 34:13Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 34:14Speaker 1: But that's what they cast him for.
- 34:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:16Speaker 1: Even as Lincoln.
- 34:17Speaker 3: He don't get to do that scene, but Daniel Day
- 34:20Speaker 3: is just really intense about his role.
- 34:22Speaker 2: For me, Daniel Day carried that movie. That movie. Gangs
- 34:26Speaker 2: of New York? That movie as a whole. Yeah. It
- 34:29Speaker 2: was just okay.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Yeah. He makes it interesting.
- 34:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:32Speaker 4: Daniel Day-Lewis 100% made that movie way more watchable.
- 34:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree with that.
- 34:38Speaker 3: 1,000%.
- 34:38Speaker 1: Yeah. So what scene are you going with? Dang, man.
- 34:42Speaker 1: Come on, man. Spit it out.
- 34:47Speaker 2: I'm going to just go with a small scene. Man, dog.
- 34:53Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying? There's a scene in Revolutionary
- 35:02Speaker 4: Road where they're arguing.
- 35:04Speaker 1: Him and the wife? Yeah. Okay.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:06Speaker 1: I bet. Most overrated movie, The Revenant. The Revenant. The
- 35:14Speaker 1: Revenant is the most overrated movie.
- 35:16Speaker 2: Shutter Island for me.
- 35:18Speaker 1: The Revenant.
- 35:20Speaker 3: They gave him a We Owe You an Oscar for
- 35:22Speaker 3: another movie Oscar.
- 35:24Speaker 1: Who was in there that year?
- 35:25Speaker 2: He was great in there, though.
- 35:26Speaker 1: He was.
- 35:26Speaker 2: I don't know who he was up against.
- 35:29Speaker 1: He was in there, I believe. Will?
- 35:31Speaker 2: I think so.
- 35:32Speaker 1: What year was that?
- 35:33Speaker 2: That was like, what, 2019?
- 35:37Speaker 1: 2018?
- 35:37Speaker 2: 2019? Wait, let me look. Oh, 2015! Damn! Time flying, y'all.
- 35:47Speaker 1: That's 11 years ago already?
- 35:49Speaker 2: The Revenant was 2015? Oh, no.
- 35:54Speaker 1: That's fine, actually.
- 35:55Speaker 2: Who was it?
- 35:56Speaker 3: It was Brian Cranston and Trumbo. Matt Damon, The Martian,
- 35:59Speaker 3: Michael Fassbender, Steve Jobs, and Eddie Redmayne, The Danish Girl.
- 36:02Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, yeah, man.
- 36:03Speaker 1: They could have gave it to him.
- 36:04Speaker 2: Hell, yeah. He was good in The Revenant.
- 36:06Speaker 1: He was good.
- 36:08Speaker 2: Shutter Island is overrated.
- 36:09Speaker 1: Shutter Island is overrated.
- 36:11Speaker 2: That shit overrated for me.
- 36:14Speaker 1: They had 12 nominations, The Revenant?
- 36:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:17Speaker 4: Tom Hardy, Leo, best picture, best director, cinematography, sound design, lighting,
- 36:25Speaker 4: all the technical shit. And that bear scene was incredible.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Watch out. Hollywood was just jacking off to that movie.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Matt Damon was really good in The Martian, though. He was.
- 36:42Speaker 2: He was good in the morning.
- 36:43Speaker 1: I feel like they was just going to give him
- 36:44Speaker 1: that Oscar regardless.
- 36:45Speaker 2: They owed him, man. But the thing is, every time
- 36:48Speaker 2: Leo lost, it was a legit lose. It was.
- 36:51Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
- 36:52Speaker 4: It wasn't like Leo lost to some bums.
- 36:57Speaker 1: And then sometimes it just go like that.
- 36:59Speaker 2: It go like that.
- 37:00Speaker 1: It's just like Angel Reese this year, right? I hope
- 37:03Speaker 1: she wins the championship.
- 37:04Speaker 3: And she got a year where Asia's not, you don't
- 37:07Speaker 3: gotta go through Asia.
- 37:09Speaker 1: And if you win, hey man, sometimes you lucky.
- 37:12Speaker 3: Them niggas who had to play Jordan, I respect that
- 37:15Speaker 3: y'all lost because Charles Barkley was hooping and Jordan was like,
- 37:21Speaker 3: I'm hooping more. And I respect you didn't win because
- 37:25Speaker 3: Jordan was like, nah.
- 37:27Speaker 2: Nah, I'm going to get that. Sorry, Karl Malone.
- 37:30Speaker 1: I'm sorry, bro.
- 37:32Speaker 2: Sorry, Charles Barkley.
- 37:33Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 37:34Speaker 2: Magic, you're done.
- 37:36Speaker 1: You're, you know what?
- 37:37Speaker 2: Clyde Drexler.
- 37:38Speaker 3: I'm glad you brought this up. I want to ask
- 37:39Speaker 3: you about this. Somebody brought this up and you were
- 37:41Speaker 3: a Michael Jordan lover.
- 37:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:45Speaker 3: Somebody said this and I hadn't thought about this and
- 37:47Speaker 3: I beat too little too hard on Jordan. You know, he,
- 37:52Speaker 3: Deserves everything. But somebody said this and I wanted to
- 37:54Speaker 3: talk to you about it, but I forgot. But you
- 37:55Speaker 3: just reminded me when you brought him up and I
- 37:57Speaker 3: brought him up. Somebody said Jordan gets let off the
- 38:02Speaker 3: hook for the two years he left. And Hakeem is
- 38:09Speaker 3: tarnished because he won and Jordan quit or retired. They
- 38:14Speaker 3: were like, somehow nobody holds it against. So the point
- 38:18Speaker 3: the person made, it was like, Imagine that when Kevin
- 38:21Speaker 3: Durant went to Golden State, if LeBron James just said,
- 38:25Speaker 3: I'm retired for two years, and then Kevin Durant won
- 38:29Speaker 3: his two rings, and I think he won two and
- 38:32Speaker 3: then he left, if I'm not mistaken. So imagine if
- 38:35Speaker 3: LeBron left, because nobody counts that against him because he
- 38:38Speaker 3: didn't play, and then when he came back, he wins
- 38:41Speaker 3: three more.
- 38:43Speaker 1: And Akeem gets the, well, he ain't go through Jordan.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Akeem didn't retire.
- 38:49Speaker 2: No, he stayed in there.
- 38:50Speaker 3: Akeem gets the negative because he didn't beat Jordan, but
- 38:53Speaker 3: Akeem is like, I can only play who's.
- 38:56Speaker 1: In the lead.
- 38:57Speaker 4: As far as I'm concerned, Akeem's wins is legit.
- 39:02Speaker 3: And I don't believe Jordan would have won eight straight.
- 39:04Speaker 3: I don't think Jordan believes that. When you watch the documentaries,
- 39:07Speaker 3: they were like, man, we were on the brink of...
- 39:12Speaker 3: Total chaos at the end of the first three. Mike
- 39:14Speaker 3: was like, I didn't have it anymore. I don't fault
- 39:17Speaker 3: him for retiring at all. He had a lot going
- 39:20Speaker 3: on in his family life, and he played at a
- 39:22Speaker 3: high level. I don't fault him for returning back. But
- 39:24Speaker 3: I do think.
- 39:26Speaker 1: What happens to Jordan doesn't happen to other people.
- 39:28Speaker 3: People don't hold it against him that he retired, and
- 39:31Speaker 3: they don't hold the Wizards' years against him.
- 39:34Speaker 1: LeBron is.
- 39:35Speaker 3: And anybody else, every year of their thing is held
- 39:39Speaker 3: against them.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Yeah. When he was on the Wizards, y'all like, no,
- 39:42Speaker 1: you was in the league.
- 39:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:43Speaker 3: For whatever reason, you was in the league. That needs
- 39:46Speaker 3: to count, too. It's like we only care about Jordan's
- 39:50Speaker 3: the sixth year of the finals. People pretend that that's
- 39:54Speaker 3: all his stuff.
- 39:54Speaker 1: Right.
- 39:55Speaker 3: He won six straight finals. But Isaiah and them was
- 39:58Speaker 3: whooping him.
- 39:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:59Speaker 3: And he lost to the Magic. He lost to the postseason. Rodman,
- 40:04Speaker 3: he was back.
- 40:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:05Speaker 1: And then he lost after he left the Bulls. That counts.
- 40:08Speaker 3: If it counts for anybody else, LeBron, KD, Steph, their
- 40:12Speaker 3: whole career counts.
- 40:13Speaker 1: Right.
- 40:14Speaker 3: But Jordan, because we love him so much, we just
- 40:16Speaker 3: be like, yo, brother, man, we gonna make it perfect.
- 40:20Speaker 2: But it wasn't. Yeah, it wasn't.
- 40:22Speaker 3: No.
- 40:22Speaker 4: He lost a lot in the postseason, even though he
- 40:24Speaker 4: was playing his ass off, putting those numbers up.
- 40:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:28Speaker 2: It's because when you look at Jordan... As an individual player,
- 40:34Speaker 2: he always delivered.
- 40:35Speaker 3: And this is where I think Jordan doesn't get enough
- 40:39Speaker 3: credit for.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:40Speaker 3: The argument I hate the most is he was playing
- 40:43Speaker 3: against plumbers and... Oh, I can't stand that shit. Let
- 40:45Speaker 3: me tell you what.
- 40:47Speaker 1: Charles Barkley in that season... Only Michael Jordan could have
- 40:51Speaker 1: stopped him. He was on a chair.
- 40:54Speaker 2: Charles Barkley was balling. In any era. Don't give me
- 40:59Speaker 2: that horse shit. It was different back then. You put
- 41:01Speaker 2: Charles Barkley.
- 41:02Speaker 4: In today's game, he gonna dominate.
- 41:05Speaker 1: Charles Barkley was a beast. The Sonics... Beast, Dump Jack.
- 41:12Speaker 2: Don Kemper and them and the Sonics, man. Come on, man.
- 41:14Speaker 3: Man, I remember the Sonics was like, the problem we
- 41:17Speaker 3: couldn't solve was Rodman.
- 41:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 41:19Speaker 3: They were like, Jordan, we knew he, nothing he gonna do.
- 41:21Speaker 2: You guys just like Jordan's school. We just gotta work
- 41:23Speaker 2: on the rest.
- 41:24Speaker 3: But they was like, man, Rodman. God dang Rodman. And
- 41:28Speaker 3: that's the thing about the team. And also, they give
- 41:33Speaker 3: Mike never.
- 41:34Speaker 1: Makes it seem like it was just him.
- 41:36Speaker 2: No, he never paints that picture.
- 41:38Speaker 1: Other people do that.
- 41:39Speaker 3: When you listen to him talk, he'd be like, I
- 41:41Speaker 3: needed Pippen, Rodman, Paxton. He do, but because he don't
- 41:46Speaker 3: talk that much, we as the people and his defenders
- 41:51Speaker 3: talk for him in a way he doesn't talk. And
- 41:53Speaker 3: he's actually not even harsh on today's game the way
- 41:55Speaker 3: a lot of old players are.
- 41:57Speaker 2: He ain't on today's game.
- 41:58Speaker 3: But yeah, when he was at his peak... I'm so sorry, y'all.
- 42:04Speaker 3: You're going to lose.
- 42:05Speaker 2: That's what it was.
- 42:07Speaker 4: And that's part of the allure of Jordan. It was
- 42:09Speaker 4: just like, he never faltered individually.
- 42:14Speaker 1: No.
- 42:15Speaker 2: He was delivering. He didn't come up short in the
- 42:17Speaker 2: finals when it was crunch time. All these other people
- 42:19Speaker 2: you can say that about.
- 42:20Speaker 1: As a LeBron fan.
- 42:22Speaker 2: Evan Durant choked in the finals, letting him come back
- 42:24Speaker 2: and then lose.
- 42:25Speaker 1: Even before the finals.
- 42:26Speaker 2: LeBron had some shitty-ass finals. LeBron.
- 42:30Speaker 3: The problem with LeBron is he often took his teams
- 42:35Speaker 3: further than they should have went and then got smacked around.
- 42:38Speaker 3: Because when he went against the Spurs, that team wasn't
- 42:42Speaker 3: no finals team. But them Dallas Mavericks, as a LeBron lover...
- 42:49Speaker 3: You stunk that up.
- 42:50Speaker 2: They pulled the mop bucket out. They was like, get
- 42:52Speaker 2: the mop bucket.
- 42:53Speaker 1: You stunk that.
- 42:55Speaker 2: We're going to mop them and sweep them. They did
- 42:57Speaker 2: the sweep and mop.
- 42:58Speaker 3: That was a great team, too. But then again, Dirk
- 43:02Speaker 3: went through. Tim, Kobe, LeBron.
- 43:06Speaker 2: I said that on one of your polls.
- 43:08Speaker 4: I feel like the Dallas Mavericks that year had the
- 43:12Speaker 4: most impressive road.
- 43:14Speaker 1: To the final victory. They went through everybody. They went
- 43:16Speaker 1: through everybody.
- 43:18Speaker 2: Hell.
- 43:18Speaker 3: No, and Kobe was on the Lakers. Tim was on
- 43:22Speaker 3: the Spurs.
- 43:23Speaker 1: LeBron and Dwyane Wade. First year heat.
- 43:27Speaker 2: They went through. That was a Lord of the Rings.
- 43:29Speaker 1: 2011 Mavericks.
- 43:30Speaker 2: That was the Revenant. For sure.
- 43:32Speaker 4: Dallas Mavericks went through what Leo went through in the Revenant.
- 43:35Speaker 4: And Dirk was cooking.
- 43:37Speaker 1: Yeah. But you got like J.J.
- 43:39Speaker 2: Barrera. That was the most impressive. Man, watch out. No
- 43:43Speaker 2: big three. Yeah, no.
- 43:45Speaker 1: Dirk and the gang. No big three.
- 43:49Speaker 2: That was super impressive.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Yeah, but I don't know how we got off on that.
- 43:53Speaker 1: We was way off on the movies.
- 43:55Speaker 4: It started with The Revenant and then 2015. Oh, it
- 43:58Speaker 4: was about who Leo lost to.
- 44:01Speaker 1: That's what it was.
- 44:02Speaker 4: If you look at every Oscars loss that Leo took,
- 44:05Speaker 4: it was a valid loss.
- 44:06Speaker 1: Yeah, that's how Will was.
- 44:08Speaker 3: Will was just in there that year and it was
- 44:10Speaker 3: just like, man, but it was like Spike Lee.
- 44:13Speaker 1: It was just always something.
- 44:16Speaker 3: And that's why when he won for King Richard, I
- 44:18Speaker 3: was like, if he doesn't win this one, there's no
- 44:21Speaker 3: guarantee that he's even going to get nominated again prior
- 44:24Speaker 3: to the slap.
- 44:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:25Speaker 3: And if he is, it ain't going to be some
- 44:27Speaker 3: other thing. Because he did not hate that he slapped.
- 44:31Speaker 3: And Chris Rock, lately, everything Chris Rock has said in interviews,
- 44:37Speaker 3: people are like.
- 44:37Speaker 2: People don't like Chris Rock, though.
- 44:42Speaker 1: The show was called Everybody Hates Chris, Tony.
- 44:46Speaker 2: And now it's coming to fruition.
- 44:48Speaker 3: Tone, I don't, I'm telling you, man, Chris Rock is
- 44:56Speaker 3: destroying him's own image.
- 44:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:00Speaker 3: When you get slapped, you supposed to be, but he
- 45:04Speaker 3: was letting.
- 45:06Speaker 1: Louis C.K. say, nigga, that's in.
- 45:08Speaker 2: That was, man, that video right there.
- 45:11Speaker 1: That is, and Jerry Seinfeld was like.
- 45:13Speaker 2: Jerry Seinfeld was like, no, it's not funny.
- 45:16Speaker 4: It's not.
- 45:16Speaker 2: I love the way Jerry handled that situation. Bruh.
- 45:19Speaker 4: Because you love a Hey Jerry Seinfeld, and I don't
- 45:22Speaker 4: agree with his Israel stance whatsoever.
- 45:24Speaker 5: Nah.
- 45:25Speaker 3: But at least you know where that dude stands. That
- 45:28Speaker 3: man was sitting there, and they're all laughing. He was like,
- 45:31Speaker 3: I don't see the humor in that. And a lot
- 45:33Speaker 3: of times, comics.
- 45:34Speaker 1: Will go along. Not you, though.
- 45:35Speaker 3: Let me tell you who ain't going to go along.
- 45:37Speaker 3: Tony Baker, boy. The whole group could be like, ha ha.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Nah, y'all.
- 45:40Speaker 2: I would have definitely been Jerry in that moment. But
- 45:43Speaker 2: it was that.
- 45:44Speaker 1: It was the Good Hair movie. Yeah. Ghetto Famous.
- 45:49Speaker 2: The Ghetto Famous.
- 45:50Speaker 1: The Ghetto Famous. It's the Tony Robbins stuff.
- 45:51Speaker 2: He didn't help his friend's brother out in the legal situation.
- 45:55Speaker 3: Yo.
- 45:56Speaker 1: Why are you saying this stuff?
- 45:58Speaker 2: He should have kept that on the tongue.
- 46:00Speaker 1: Tongue.
- 46:01Speaker 4: Because a lot of people will be sympathetic to you. Like,
- 46:04Speaker 4: you can't help everybody. And you can't be paying for
- 46:07Speaker 4: everybody's lawyers. You just can't be doing that. But you
- 46:09Speaker 4: didn't have to share that story at all. You didn't
- 46:11Speaker 4: have to share it.
- 46:12Speaker 3: The guy, so I told Angel, we talked about this
- 46:14Speaker 3: on the podcast. It wasn't like the guy said, so
- 46:15Speaker 3: I know your friend had the friend of the lawyer.
- 46:18Speaker 3: He just said, hey, man, what time is it? You know, man,
- 46:20Speaker 3: I just, I got this friend that just, I wasn't
- 46:24Speaker 3: paying for the lawyers, you know.
- 46:25Speaker 1: And I get that.
- 46:26Speaker 4: It turns out he was innocent, man. I didn't pay
- 46:28Speaker 4: for that lawyer. And you know, I didn't pay for
- 46:32Speaker 4: the lawyer.
- 46:33Speaker 2: Right there.
- 46:35Speaker 4: And you see people in the comments saying, I'm glad
- 46:37Speaker 4: Will slapped me.
- 46:38Speaker 2: And I'm just like, damn, dog.
- 46:41Speaker 1: You not getting the.
- 46:42Speaker 3: Taylor Swift used that Kanye moment and she rode that to.
- 46:46Speaker 1: To the heavens. To the heavens. He has a worse moment. Yes.
- 46:51Speaker 1: And he... People are basically being like, Kanye, say it again. Yeah. Like...
- 46:59Speaker 1: He's hard to defend, man.
- 47:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:01Speaker 1: He's hard to defend.
- 47:02Speaker 2: And once people turn on you.
- 47:04Speaker 1: And black people.
- 47:06Speaker 2: This....
- 47:09Speaker 1: It feel like he'd be disconnected from the blackness.
- 47:13Speaker 3: I don't know if it's a rich thing or just
- 47:15Speaker 3: who he is, but he don't be connected to the black.
- 47:20Speaker 1: You know, he'd be like, you know.
- 47:23Speaker 4: The crazy part about Chris Rock is that he hasn't
- 47:26Speaker 4: shied away from his blackness. That's why the stuff that
- 47:30Speaker 4: he produces, he got a TV show with a black family.
- 47:34Speaker 4: He had a great HBO show, The Chris Rock Show,
- 47:37Speaker 4: that had the jokes about the culture and racism and
- 47:39Speaker 4: all that stuff. The Good Hair documentary. Even the stuff
- 47:44Speaker 4: that he's been promoting lately.
- 47:46Speaker 2: That's why he's been going.
- 47:47Speaker 4: On the interview about the joint that he executive produced
- 47:50Speaker 4: about that woman actress. It's like he's putting blackness out
- 47:57Speaker 4: here at the forefront. He's not just doing white stuff.
- 48:01Speaker 4: He's not just all token blackness. When it's him at
- 48:03Speaker 4: the helm, he be putting black people in.
- 48:06Speaker 3: And he was speaking truth to power as a black
- 48:08Speaker 3: man in the late 90s in a way very few
- 48:11Speaker 3: people of power did.
- 48:13Speaker 1: And he was funny. Yeah. Bigger and blacker.
- 48:17Speaker 2: Bigger and blacker. And what's the other one? Bring the pain.
- 48:20Speaker 2: Bring the pain and bigger and blacker. CB4 was funny.
- 48:23Speaker 1: Love CB4. I don't know. Louis C.K. wrote on that.
- 48:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:25Speaker 4: And.
- 48:27Speaker 1: Satade.
- 48:28Speaker 2: Poodie Tang.
- 48:28Speaker 1: Poodie Tang.
- 48:29Speaker 2: Wadda Ta.
- 48:30Speaker 1: Wadda Ta. Louis C.K. was in on that.
- 48:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 48:33Speaker 2: And Everybody Hates Chris is a great TV show.
- 48:36Speaker 3: But see, a lot of times people be like, yo,
- 48:38Speaker 3: the way he wrote the mom character is like, man.
- 48:41Speaker 1: It's like he hates his mom. But if that's your,
- 48:45Speaker 1: people's moms.
- 48:46Speaker 4: Sometimes people's moms be fucking them up. You don't get
- 48:51Speaker 4: no pass just because you black. If your mom fucked
- 48:54Speaker 4: you up and she a black mom, well, guess what?
- 48:58Speaker 2: She gonna be fucked up in the show.
- 49:00Speaker 1: Because the mom in Precious was a black mom and
- 49:02Speaker 1: she was awful.
- 49:03Speaker 2: But she was so funny, though. Wait, the mom in Precious? No,
- 49:08Speaker 2: the mom in... Oh, Rochelle! Yeah, yeah, yeah. But, yeah, man, so...
- 49:15Speaker 2: So that's the tricky part about Chris Rock. It is.
- 49:19Speaker 4: Not that he's a complete sellout or that you know
- 49:22Speaker 4: he's only doing white stuff that's not that's not the
- 49:25Speaker 4: reality no so it's just an interesting dynamic.
- 49:28Speaker 3: It's just like nana said his but the blackness is
- 49:30Speaker 3: adjacent to him it's not him.
- 49:34Speaker 2: But he is black, though.
- 49:36Speaker 3: I agree with you, but I think sometimes it feels
- 49:40Speaker 3: like it do feel adjacent.
- 49:44Speaker 2: Sometimes. But some black people are adjacent.
- 49:47Speaker 1: Fair. It's true.
- 49:50Speaker 2: Some black people are just adjacent.
- 49:52Speaker 1: Yes.
- 49:54Speaker 4: They still out here being black. They still out here
- 49:57Speaker 4: with black wives, black family.
- 49:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 49:59Speaker 2: They just are adjacent to.
- 50:02Speaker 1: Absolutely. You know what I mean?
- 50:03Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 50:03Speaker 1: Absolutely. All right, man, watch out.
- 50:05Speaker 3: I don't know what we're talking about anymore.
- 50:08Speaker 1: Underrated movie? What'd you say?
- 50:10Speaker 2: So we say overrated.
- 50:12Speaker 1: Overrated.
- 50:13Speaker 2: Shutter Island. Shutter Island for me.
- 50:15Speaker 1: Shutter Island.
- 50:16Speaker 2: Underrated. Oh, so now we underrated?
- 50:18Speaker 1: Underrated now.
- 50:19Speaker 4: So I'm going to go with an underrated Leonardo DiCaprio
- 50:26Speaker 4: movie for me.
- 50:29Speaker 2: Is Blood Diamonds.
- 50:32Speaker 1: Oh, that is a good one.
- 50:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm going to have to go Blood. I feel
- 50:34Speaker 2: like Blood has to get the props it deserves.
- 50:39Speaker 3: Man, that's good. That's a good one. Man, I'm trying
- 50:48Speaker 3: to see if I feel like... I didn't like The
- 50:50Speaker 3: Great Gatsby as a movie. I thought his performance was brilliant.
- 50:54Speaker 2: It was good. It was better than I expected it.
- 50:57Speaker 2: I wasn't feeling that movie.
- 50:58Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 50:59Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 50:59Speaker 1: It was big and it was, there was a lot
- 51:01Speaker 1: of spectacle, but I was like.
- 51:02Speaker 2: It was a lot of spectacle. But Baz Luhrmann is
- 51:04Speaker 2: that type of director.
- 51:05Speaker 1: Man, Baz. He busy.
- 51:07Speaker 4: He gonna give you mad visuals and all kinds, lions, stilts,
- 51:13Speaker 4: somebody walking through the scene, stilts, fireworks, crazy.
- 51:19Speaker 2: But yeah. I like.
- 51:23Speaker 3: I'll make sure I'm right. I can't slide nothing past you.
- 51:28Speaker 3: I'm going to go with The Aviator.
- 51:30Speaker 1: Okay. I like that movie.
- 51:32Speaker 2: That was a good movie.
- 51:33Speaker 1: Howard Hughes. I just feel like in the grand scheme of... Also,
- 51:37Speaker 1: I didn't know much.
- 51:37Speaker 3: About Howard Hughes at all. So I kind of like
- 51:41Speaker 3: give movies a little more if I'd be like, oh, dang,
- 51:43Speaker 3: I didn't know all that stuff.
- 51:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 51:45Speaker 3: And I just feel like The Aviator not really talked
- 51:47Speaker 3: about much when we talk about Leo and his greatness.
- 51:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 51:51Speaker 3: Martin Scorsese, non-gang film movie. Yeah.
- 51:57Speaker 1: But I think that was a brilliant performance.
- 51:59Speaker 4: Yeah, that was a good performance. That was a good movie.
- 52:02Speaker 4: Cate Blanchett was fantastic.
- 52:03Speaker 1: Cate Blanchett, man.
- 52:05Speaker 2: She be.
- 52:06Speaker 1: She be turning in some performances.
- 52:08Speaker 2: She one of the best actors ever.
- 52:10Speaker 1: I feel like... I agree. I feel like she just
- 52:13Speaker 1: don't be movie, movie, movie, movie, movie, movie, movie.
- 52:18Speaker 2: Nah.
- 52:18Speaker 1: But when she shows up, she's never been in something.
- 52:20Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, Cate didn't bring it.
- 52:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 52:22Speaker 1: And she be.
- 52:24Speaker 1: When she was in Thor, I was like, yo, Kate,
- 52:28Speaker 1: what the hell? You're mean.
- 52:29Speaker 2: Hello, man.
- 52:30Speaker 3: She was killing in that.
- 52:33Speaker 2: She was.
- 52:33Speaker 1: I remember being like, dang, Kate, when that helmet came on, I.
- 52:36Speaker 2: Was like, okay. She's one of my favorite actors.
- 52:39Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure. She's not in Ocean's 8, is she? Yeah.
- 52:45Speaker 1: She is.
- 52:46Speaker 2: That's your movie, man. That is your movie.
- 52:49Speaker 1: She in that.
- 52:52Speaker 2: She had them.
- 52:53Speaker 1: Clothes on in Ocean Days. She had them clothes on.
- 52:55Speaker 2: All right.
- 52:56Speaker 1: Okay, so now we need....
- 52:59Speaker 2: He should have won an Oscar for this. Man, the
- 53:04Speaker 2: list goes on. Man.
- 53:07Speaker 1: What was he nominated for?
- 53:09Speaker 2: I'm going to go with Gilbert Grape.
- 53:14Speaker 1: I'm going to go with The Aviator.
- 53:17Speaker 2: Nah. He lost to somebody that.
- 53:22Speaker 1: Who did he?
- 53:23Speaker 2: That just brought the heat that year.
- 53:25Speaker 1: What's best supporting 94?
- 53:27Speaker 2: When the Aviator come out. He lost against Jamie and Ray.
- 53:33Speaker 1: I'm not saying he should have beat Jamie. I'm just
- 53:34Speaker 1: saying he should have won for his role.
- 53:36Speaker 2: That's the only way he going to get it.
- 53:38Speaker 1: No, he could have released it the next year or
- 53:39Speaker 1: the year prior.
- 53:40Speaker 2: Hold it. He came out that year.
- 53:42Speaker 1: If you hold it, you know Ray coming out, man.
- 53:45Speaker 1: Hold that till next year.
- 53:46Speaker 2: Went up against Ray, man.
- 53:48Speaker 1: He lost to Ray?
- 53:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 53:54Speaker 1: And that's biopic for biopic.
- 53:56Speaker 2: He lost to Ray, dog.
- 53:58Speaker 1: Nobody going to beat Jamie.
- 53:59Speaker 2: I'm walking away in silence on that. I'm like, yep.
- 54:02Speaker 2: Goddamn right he lost to Ray.
- 54:03Speaker 4: And that's what I mean, man. Leo was losing to
- 54:06Speaker 4: some hitters, man.
- 54:07Speaker 2: Hold on.
- 54:08Speaker 3: Okay, so let's go with 94.
- 54:12Speaker 1: Hold on.
- 54:13Speaker 3: Who would lose to a 94? Best Supporting Actor. He
- 54:17Speaker 3: went against....
- 54:19Speaker 1: God dang it. Tommy Lee Jones and the Fugitive.
- 54:22Speaker 2: He could have won that.
- 54:23Speaker 1: That's supporting? Oh, Harrison Ford had to be lead. I
- 54:28Speaker 1: feel like that's a dual lead.
- 54:31Speaker 2: Leo could have won that one.
- 54:32Speaker 1: Oh, now?
- 54:33Speaker 2: Now?
- 54:34Speaker 1: Ralph Fiennes and Schindler's List? That's right. And John Malkovich,
- 54:39Speaker 1: Line of Fire.
- 54:40Speaker 2: Yeah, he was good.
- 54:41Speaker 1: Peter Postlewit.
- 54:42Speaker 2: Hold on. They shouldn't have been together. Wait, Line of
- 54:45Speaker 2: Fire was 93.
- 54:45Speaker 4: Okay.
- 54:46Speaker 1: Peter Postlewit. I don't remember the movie in the name
- 54:49Speaker 1: of the father.
- 54:49Speaker 2: I never saw that movie. Okay. But I did see
- 54:52Speaker 2: Schindler's List.
- 54:53Speaker 1: I saw Schindler's List.
- 54:54Speaker 2: I did see.
- 54:55Speaker 1: In the line of fire. John Malkovich, that's an acting somebody.
- 54:59Speaker 4: He's a favorite to win an Oscar for the next
- 55:01Speaker 4: Oscars coming up. He got a movie coming out that's making.
- 55:04Speaker 1: A lot of noise.
- 55:06Speaker 2: I forget the name of it.
- 55:06Speaker 1: Tommy Lee Jones. That's tough.
- 55:08Speaker 2: Tommy Lee Jones winning, though. I feel like that could
- 55:11Speaker 2: have either been Wraiths, Leos, or.
- 55:13Speaker 1: I feel like Ross should have won.
- 55:15Speaker 2: Don't get me wrong.
- 55:16Speaker 1: Tommy Lee Jones was great.
- 55:18Speaker 2: He was great, but not Oscar worthy. No. Not for
- 55:20Speaker 2: the fugitive.
- 55:22Speaker 4: Leo was fantastic and was great.
- 55:25Speaker 2: All right.
- 55:26Speaker 1: Let's look at 2007 Blood Diamond of the Year. So, oh, wait.
- 55:32Speaker 1: What is it? He was leading role?
- 55:33Speaker 2: In Blood Diamond?
- 55:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 55:36Speaker 2: Was he nominated for that? Yeah. Okay.
- 55:38Speaker 1: Let me see who he lost to. Let me see
- 55:41Speaker 1: if they could have beat anybody.
- 55:42Speaker 4: Is that Forrest Whitaker? You had no chance. Forrest Whitaker
- 55:48Speaker 4: in The Last King of Scotland was going.
- 55:50Speaker 2: To get that.
- 55:52Speaker 1: So it was Forrest Whitaker, The Last King of Scotland, Leonardo,
- 55:55Speaker 1: Ryan Gosling.
- 55:57Speaker 2: Will Smith was in there that year, too. For the
- 55:59Speaker 2: pursuit of happiness.
- 56:03Speaker 1: And nobody was beating. Idiot, I mean. But you did
- 56:06Speaker 1: not persuade me, Nicolaus. Yeah, I don't know what to
- 56:10Speaker 1: tell you, Leo.
- 56:11Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying, man.
- 56:13Speaker 1: Okay, 2014. Oh, 2014.
- 56:14Speaker 3: 2014. Okay, 2014, Wolf of Wall Street, best actor.
- 56:23Speaker 1: Let me see.
- 56:23Speaker 3: He had to have been able to beat somebody in that. God,
- 56:28Speaker 3: Dallas Buyers Club.
- 56:29Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying, man.
- 56:31Speaker 1: There's no chance. Christian Bale in American Hustle was really good.
- 56:35Speaker 2: He was a good man.
- 56:36Speaker 1: And Chiwetel, 12 Years a Slave.
- 56:39Speaker 2: He was fantastic in that.
- 56:40Speaker 3: I don't remember Bruce Dern in Nebraska. Yeah, he didn't
- 56:43Speaker 3: stand a chance. Dallas Buyers Club was the most Oscar movie, Oscar.
- 56:47Speaker 3: Matthew McConaughey was delivered, though.
- 56:51Speaker 1: They had that Oscar pre-made.
- 56:53Speaker 2: I thought he really died.
- 56:56Speaker 1: Didn't Jared Leto win for that, too?
- 56:57Speaker 2: Yes. Deserved.
- 56:59Speaker 1: Yeah, he, man.
- 57:01Speaker 2: Dallas Buyers Club, man. Tough. He killed it. Tough. That's
- 57:05Speaker 2: what I'm saying.
- 57:06Speaker 4: Leo was just going against undeniables, man.
- 57:10Speaker 1: Nah, you right. All right, let's see. He won in
- 57:12Speaker 1: the Revenant. Let's see who he beat.
- 57:15Speaker 2: We just checked that.
- 57:16Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, we did.
- 57:16Speaker 2: Matt Damon and them.
- 57:17Speaker 1: Okay. And one battle after another, I don't. Nah, he
- 57:23Speaker 1: lost to Michael B.
- 57:24Speaker 2: Was he nominated?
- 57:25Speaker 1: Yeah, he was nominated.
- 57:25Speaker 2: Okay, all right.
- 57:26Speaker 1: He was good in that, though. It didn't even seem
- 57:28Speaker 1: like he won it. He thought he was going to
- 57:29Speaker 1: win in that one.
- 57:29Speaker 2: Yeah, he was chilling.
- 57:30Speaker 1: You got it.
- 57:31Speaker 2: He was chilling.
- 57:31Speaker 1: Michael B. did his thing.
- 57:33Speaker 2: Michael B., man, I'm so glad he won that Oscar.
- 57:36Speaker 1: As a black person, man, it'd just be like, God, dog.
- 57:40Speaker 3: I still believe Lupita Nyong'o should have won for us. Yeah.
- 57:45Speaker 2: At least be nominated, at the very least. At the
- 57:49Speaker 2: very least be nominated.
- 57:50Speaker 1: What year was that, Tone?
- 57:51Speaker 3: Us?
- 57:54Speaker 2: Let's see.
- 57:56Speaker 1: Would that have been Best Actress or Supported?
- 58:00Speaker 2: 2019. She would have been an actress.
- 58:06Speaker 1: All right. 2019. Olivia Colman for The Favorite. I don't
- 58:11Speaker 1: remember that. Yalitza Aparicio for Roma. No idea. Glenn Close
- 58:17Speaker 1: for The Wife.
- 58:19Speaker 2: Nothing.
- 58:19Speaker 1: Glenn Close for The Wife. Lady Gaga Stars Born was great.
- 58:23Speaker 2: She was good in that.
- 58:25Speaker 1: And Melissa McCarthy for Can You Ever Forgive Me.
- 58:27Speaker 2: She could have got nominated, man.
- 58:30Speaker 1: Man, get everybody else out. Yalitza, Glenn. Lady Gaga, that
- 58:36Speaker 1: was a great performance.
- 58:37Speaker 4: Lady Gaga, man, and Star is Born is one of
- 58:39Speaker 4: my favorite relationship movies.
- 58:43Speaker 1: Man, when he peed, I felt, I felt, Awful, man.
- 58:48Speaker 2: I was rooting for him. That's how you know I
- 58:51Speaker 2: was connected, man. I was really rooting for them, man.
- 58:53Speaker 1: Me too.
- 58:55Speaker 2: And so when he took his own life, that shit hurt.
- 58:57Speaker 1: Oh, I was like, dang.
- 59:00Speaker 2: I felt it. I was like, man. The Star is
- 59:02Speaker 2: Born was really good. That was a sad movie, man.
- 59:07Speaker 2: Ain't no... I've only seen it one time.
- 59:08Speaker 1: Oh, I'm out.
- 59:10Speaker 2: Been able to go back.
- 59:10Speaker 1: Oh, I'm not queuing it up. That movie was sad.
- 59:14Speaker 1: I said, nah.
- 59:16Speaker 2: But, man, that was a good movie.
- 59:17Speaker 1: Yeah. All right. Paycheck movie, the one that got him paid.
- 59:22Speaker 1: It got to be Titanic. Titanic.
- 59:24Speaker 3: Titanic for sure. After Titanic, man, Scott was the best.
- 59:28Speaker 3: And he's been making bread ever since.
- 59:30Speaker 2: Ever since.
- 59:31Speaker 1: Best director, I know what you're going to say. You're
- 59:33Speaker 1: already right.
- 59:37Speaker 2: Martin Scorsese. Yeah, for sure.
- 59:40Speaker 1: They done hella movies together. For sure, dog. That's your boy.
- 59:44Speaker 3: Yeah. He could have been Odysseus, and I'd have been like, yep.
- 59:48Speaker 3: Although Matt Damon killed in that. He probably got that
- 59:50Speaker 3: Oscar sewn up. Yeah.
- 59:52Speaker 1: I think. Hall of Fame performance.
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: Hall of Fame.
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: Man, I'm tripping.
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: Let me think. Hall of Fame is tough.
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: What do we even mean by this? We should take
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: this one out. We never know what to say for this.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: We really don't. Man, Hall of Fame is dumb. I'm
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: deleting it.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: We're taking it down, man. Get it down, man.
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: You probably know what I'm talking about. All right.
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: Top 10 Leonardo DiCaprio movies, Tone.
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: Oh, shit.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: Top 10.
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: You feel me?
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: You feel me? All right. Go ahead and kick us off, Tone.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: The Departed. I'm coming in with it, man. I love
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: The Departed.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: That's the quintessential Leo.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: That's Leo. The ensemble, for one, is crazy.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: For sure.
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: But you just... That movie just never stopped. It never
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: took his foot off the gas. Jack Nicholson said no accent.
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: No accent.
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: Maybe sometimes, but mostly no.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: But you ever see Black Mass?
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: Johnny Depp?
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: No, I ain't seen it.
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: You gotta watch his performance in Black Mass.
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: Johnny Depp?
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: Is it that good?
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: He plays Whitey Bulger.
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: I heard it was good.
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: Man, his performance.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: Johnny Depp, dog.
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: All right, I'm gonna go. Inception.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: Love Inception. Love Leo in Inception.
- 1:01:21Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: It's one of my top five movies of all time.
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: Inception's fantastic. It's perfect. He's perfect. You stole my pick.
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: It's great. It's great.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: And I love it.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: All right. All right.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: Catch me if you can, God damn it.
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: You dirty bastard. Hell yeah, dog. You dirty bastard.
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: You took mine, but take yours.
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: I'm going to Sweet Greens after this, and I'm going
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: to get the exact thing you get.
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: I'm going to Jersey Michaels. I'm going to Jersey Michael.
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: Man, catch me if you can.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: Catch me if you can, though.
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: Snatch.
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: I'm going to go Titanic. Ooh.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: It is what it is.
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: Finally.
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: I can't take that from the man. Just because it
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: was two tapes, man, I can't take it. It wasn't
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: that my uncopy made me change the tape. It's really,
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: I'm mad at uncopy. Respect on the name, man. There
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: was 10 people in there. Why you choose me to
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: change the tapes and then rewind it? That wasn't my
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: Blockbuster account. All right, Titanic, you're up, Tony.
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: Django Unchained. That's good. Coming in.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: Even though he knows a small player in it, still.
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: No, but that movie can't be made without him. Yeah,
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: Django Unchained. Okay, I'ma go. All right, now, okay, top 10.
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: Top 10, Kev.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: Don't just throw no stuff in there. Wolf of Wall Street.
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: Hey, man, I'm not mad at it.
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: I'm not leaving.
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: I'm not fucking leaving.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: That scene on the yacht with him and Kyle Chandler.
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: Oh, they're out-pricking each other?
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: Oh, that was just... That was great. Oh, that was
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: great acting. Kyle Chandler, man.
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: Yeah, man.
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: They got to bring him back for the lantern, man.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: They do.
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: I like Aaron Pierre. That's Mufasa. But you got to
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: bring Kyle Chandler back, too.
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: All right, you're up.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: I mean... This should be... We got the Departed.
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: Seven for you. Seven?
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: No, it should be eight.
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: Oh.
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: Wait, we got the Departed. We got... uh we do
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: this every.
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: Six that's six we done this is seven eight nine
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: ten i'm.
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: Coming in with the blood diamond oh my god yeah man.
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: Give me that blood diamond not without my son.
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: I'm going blood diamond you know a movie gets ignored
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: j edgar.
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: Man, watch out, man. I hate J.
- 1:03:35Speaker 4: Edgar.
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: That movie don't even get mentioned.
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: Nobody talks about it.
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: Nobody. It's like it never happened. I hate J.
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: Edgar Hoover. And that movie's just all right to me.
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: Watch out.
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: I'm going to go. You just took the one I
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: was going to take.
- 1:03:53Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: Feel it.
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: I'm going to go The Aviator.
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: I like The Aviator. That's what I'm going to say.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: All right. I'm going to go The Aviator. All right.
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: It's your last one, Tom.
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: My last pick will be One Battle After... Mother.
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: That was a good movie, man.
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: It was great.
- 1:04:19Speaker 4: I thought Senna should have won Best Picture, but One
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: Battle After Another is a good movie.
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: They love Paul Thomas Anderson.
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure.
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: All Thomas Anderson.
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: Then I'm going to go.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: You going... The Revenant? Man, never.
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: Over my dead body. I'm going to go.
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: I know what it should be.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: I'm going to go Revolutionary Road.
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: Oh, interesting.
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: Okay. I'm not picking The Revenant, and you can't whoop me.
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: And I'm definitely not picking Shutter Island. I don't care
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: what you say. And I didn't see Once Upon a
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: Time in Hollywood.
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: You think you never saw it? No, I never saw it.
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: I'm going to go What's Eating Gilbert Grape.
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: I'm going to go with what's even Gilbert Grave.
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: You know, we don't, I don't, they don't let actors
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: play people with mental issues as.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: Much as they used to.
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: No, I don't see it as much now.
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: Because, remember, it was a thing.
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: It was getting to it back in the 90s.
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: Rain Man, Gilbert Grave. When you see clips of radio now,
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: I'd be.
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: Like, oh, man. He was acting, though. He delivered.
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: But it'd just be like Cuba, man. It'd be hard
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: to watch. They put clips out of radio. I'd be like,
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: all right, y'all.
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: What are you supposed to do?
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: I don't know. How are you supposed to play it?
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: I don't know, man.
- 1:05:42Speaker 4: How are you supposed to play it?
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: I don't.
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: It hurts me.
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: Sling Blade is okay. Billy Bob, I don't mind that.
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: Billy Bob and Sling Blade, that was a different thing.
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: But radio, I'd be like, Some people with mental disabilities
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: are like radio.
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: I used to work with the mentally disabled.
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: So did I.
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: And so it's like you get characters.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: You do.
- 1:06:10Speaker 4: In terms of just like, because, you know, we're super
- 1:06:14Speaker 4: sensitive about the mentally disabled.
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:06:16Speaker 4: It's like, you know, working with them, you just see
- 1:06:19Speaker 4: the different types of temperaments and personalities within the disability
- 1:06:23Speaker 4: that they have. Yeah.
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: Some of them are like radio.
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: When I watch.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: There's a dating show about people on the... Love on
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: the Spectrum. Yeah. I'd be like, man, maybe they can act.
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: Some of them people look like they can act. Yeah.
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: Sometimes movies let.
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: People with mental disabilities just be in the movie.
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: But it's just radio, man. Because the dude who played Warren,
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: I don't know if he's... I don't know his... Warren?
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: Yeah. He's a regular guy.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: What? What?
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: How you feel about Sean Penn and I am Sam?
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: Nah.
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: I don't like it now. I don't like it now.
- 1:07:12Speaker 4: I be.
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: Feeling weird about it now. It's like y'all was trying
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: to get the award.
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: What about Ernie Hudson and the Hand That Rocks the Cradle?
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: I don't even remember that.
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: You don't be feeling weird?
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: I honestly be feeling, I immediately be like, if the
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: performance is good, I immediately be like.
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: My heart goes out. Immediately.
- 1:07:39Speaker 4: I'm like, man, I'm rooting for y'all, man. You know
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: what I'm saying?
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: My heart goes out, y'all.
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: Every, damn near every time.
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: Your heart goes out every time?
- 1:07:48Speaker 4: If the performance is good, So I'd just be feeling
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: for them. I'd just be rooting for them. You know
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: what I'm saying?
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: So, like, radio, man. I don't know I'm focused on
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: watching that movie. I know I did.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: It's just the way Cuba was looking, man. Go look
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: at some clips of radio.
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: I saw a clip the other day.
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: What'd you feel? It was the one.
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: That was like a buildup of them bullying him and
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: then him becoming part of the team.
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: And I was just like... You know what?
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: Forrest Gump... Mentally disabled.
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: Absolutely. And people love that.
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: I let that one slide. Why you let that one slide?
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: I like Tom Hanks, I guess. Also, rest in peace
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: to RJ Mitt. He passed away by suicide today. He
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: had cerebral palsy. He acted with it. He was in
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: Breaking Bad.
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: Man, just to.
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: Harsh. Yeah.
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: You know, he had some interviews where he was saying like,
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: basically it ain't cracked up. It ain't what it's cracked
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: up to be. I think it's, I'm filthy rich. He
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: was also seemed to be really hard on himself as
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: an actor. So rest in peace to him. It's just like.
- 1:09:01Speaker 4: I saw a video about him and what his salary
- 1:09:05Speaker 4: was on Breaking Bad because they weren't breaking the bank.
- 1:09:10Speaker 4: No pun intended on breaking. But even Walter Whitener, they
- 1:09:14Speaker 4: weren't getting crazy money for the first few seasons.
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: Mm-mm.
- 1:09:16Speaker 4: And so, you know, they were saying, like, he was getting, like,
- 1:09:19Speaker 4: maybe 2,500 to 3,000 episodes.
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: That's nothing, man.
- 1:09:24Speaker 4: That's nothing, especially when you had to live off that.
- 1:09:26Speaker 4: And they said he wasn't getting casted for a lot
- 1:09:29Speaker 4: of roles because, one, they saw him as the guy
- 1:09:32Speaker 4: from Breaking Bad that, you know, that was on one
- 1:09:36Speaker 4: side of it.
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: And it was just like they just weren't willing to
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: take him on.
- 1:09:41Speaker 4: Because it was like he was in Breaking Bad, but
- 1:09:43Speaker 4: he wasn't a standout on Breaking Bad. Right.
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: So it was that type of gray area where it
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: was just like, eh, we don't, you know.
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: And a lot of people from Breaking Bad got work
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: after that.
- 1:09:53Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: Bryan Cranston. I haven't seen the lady who played Skylar much.
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: I haven't seen Skylar a lot.
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: But Dean worked. Aaron Paul's got a lot of work. Yeah.
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: The dude who played Tuco. Giancarlo Esposito. Yeah. Bob Odenkirk.
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: So Jesse Plemons.
- 1:10:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: So to be on a show that... It's one thing
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: if nobody got work or just the star. Yeah. But
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: it's like seven... That's actually a lot of people who've
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: gone on to work a lot.
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: And you was.
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: There on the call sheet for sure he was and
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: you didn't get to be.
- 1:10:29Speaker 4: And then they were saying too like you know he
- 1:10:31Speaker 4: didn't have uh you know you don't get the residuals
- 1:10:35Speaker 4: for all those people watching rigging bad on streaming he
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: didn't he wasn't included in the streaming residuals and um
- 1:10:43Speaker 4: he got ripped off by his management and he got
- 1:10:46Speaker 4: ripped off by his business manager which and it's like.
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: You don't have a chance to make that kind of
- 1:10:54Speaker 3: money again. You didn't make it in the first. Breaking
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: Bad was five seasons. So the first three, you didn't
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: really get paid. You got paid a little in four
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: and five.
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: He was saying he carried a huge team. That was expensive.
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: And then he ripped them off. And you ain't working
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: after that.
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: Come on, man.
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: You was living in Albuquerque.
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: So you got to put yourself up to live there
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: because they don't put, you know, they don't cover the
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: entire cost of that.
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: It's always more expensive. You don't get to live. You know,
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: I'm sorry. You don't get to work where you live.
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: So it's just like, I just felt bad for him, man.
- 1:11:21Speaker 5: Me too.
- 1:11:22Speaker 3: Martin Short had, apparently he lost his wife to cancer
- 1:11:25Speaker 3: and he lost his daughter to suicide. I saw this
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: clip of him and he talked about suicide in a
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: way I hadn't heard it before. He said, my wife
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: and my daughter died from terminal ill diseases.
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: And they both fought as long as they could. My
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: wife fought as long as she could against cancer, but
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: eventually she succumbed to cancer.
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: And my daughter fought as long as she could against
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: depression and suicidal ideations.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: But eventually she came to it and I'm proud of
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: both of them for fighting.
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: And I was like, that is a way I've never
- 1:11:55Speaker 3: seen suicide framed like that.
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: You know, coming up, I'm not proud of this, but
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: I didn't create this thing. Suicide was always like, Oh,
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: that's especially for a man. That's a weak way of
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: going out. You know, we didn't, I don't feel like
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: as a culture, we didn't properly understand how heavy depression is,
- 1:12:16Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying? So it was like, it's
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: not as simple as you wanted the easy way out.
- 1:12:21Speaker 3: A lot of times you fighting hard. You just can't overcome.
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: Your own brain is working against you.
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: You know what I mean? That's tough. So it's a
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: beautiful way.
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: And I know Regina King, the way she talks about
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: her son, it's a very honoring way to remember somebody
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: who passed away due to suicide.
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: And I think that reframing in the last five to
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: eight years, maybe 10 years versus when I was coming up.
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: Yeah. The way they talk about suicide, we have changed tremendously.
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: Mental health wasn't even a discussion back then.
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: No.
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: Like mental health, man, watch out. Schizophrenia, you crazy, psychotic.
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: That was it. Literally it.
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: That was it.
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: We wasn't taking no time. There wasn't no differentiation. Schizophrenia
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: to dyslexia, man. You crazy.
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: You crazy. And that was it.
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: That was it. And there's much more layers. Plug that in.
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: Make sure I see you Thursday.
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: Bye, brother.
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: See y'all next week.
