Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
• 0:03
Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to get right
• 0:06
back to the Sarah Kellen transcript from her meeting with Congress.
• 0:11
Question by Miss Brynac. After he picked you up at
• 0:14
the dock, where did he take you? Answer? We just
• 0:18
went up to like the main part of the house,
• 0:20
and I remember like Lane being there and the assistant
• 0:22
that I was potentially going to replace. We were only
• 0:25
there for a few days. I remember being it was
• 0:28
very luxurious. I remember that I shared a room with
• 0:31
redacted and in the morning she was like, you can
• 0:34
ask for whatever you want for breakfast. She's like, I'm
• 0:37
going to have a big bowl of berries and I
• 0:39
was like, wow, like a whole bowl of berries, Like
• 0:41
those are really expensive. It felt very luxurious, like nothing
• 0:45
I had ever encountered before. Question, so you understood the
• 0:49
couple could be wealthy? Answer? Yeah, Question what did you
• 0:53
understand their positions to be? How did you believe that
• 0:56
they acquired their wealth? Answer? I know it one point.
• 1:00
I learned what he did, but I understood that he
• 1:02
managed billionaire's money. Like they told me, he wouldn't take
• 1:06
on a client unless he was worth one billion dollars.
• 1:10
Glaine would tell me, you know, you should really listen
• 1:12
to what he says, and you know, do what he says,
• 1:15
because he's clearly very successful and influential and he can
• 1:19
help you. Question who told you that he wouldn't take
• 1:21
a client unless they were worth over a billion? Answer?
• 1:25
Probably Colayne, maybe him. It was just my general understanding,
• 1:30
so I'm sure it would have been one of those two.
• 1:32
Question you mentioned that you believed that you were replacing Glaine.
• 1:36
Who told you that? Answer? Not Colayne her assistant. Question Okay,
• 1:40
I apologize. When did you first did you meet? Redacted?
• 1:45
Answer on the island trip? Question why did you believe
• 1:49
you were replacing her? Answer that that's what I was told.
• 1:52
She wanted to go to Alai to pursue acting, so
• 1:54
she was preparing to leave. Question Who would have told
• 1:57
you that she was leaving for acting? Answer? I don't
• 2:00
know if it was redacted or redacted herself. Question We'll
• 2:04
go into more specifics on this, but can you briefly
• 2:07
describe the nature of your relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. Answer?
• 2:11
He was terrifying. He was completely dominating of everything in
• 2:15
my life. I had an apartment to live in in
• 2:17
New York, so I had to live where he told
• 2:20
me to live. He dictated what I wore. If I
• 2:24
wore something that he didn't approve of, he would look
• 2:26
at me and say, it's disgusting. Where did you get this?
• 2:29
Throw it away? So every time I would buy anything new,
• 2:32
I would have to immediately go to him and get approval.
• 2:35
He just decimated any source of autonomy that I had,
• 2:39
which was very little at the time considering my upbringing.
• 2:42
He dictated my haircut, my hair color. He would go
• 2:45
to the salam with me and tell me what color
• 2:48
to make it, what cut to make it. He gave
• 2:50
me a boy cut with bangs, blonde hair, brown hair,
• 2:53
and every length, every cut. He was extremely, extremely demanding,
• 2:58
and he had no sense of reality and what it
• 3:00
took to get things done. He would get so angry
• 3:03
if things weren't done immediately or the next day, and
• 3:06
he would keep you in such a state of terror
• 3:08
that most menial things weren't done. It was the smallest
• 3:11
things became important to him. Like just a silly example.
• 3:16
We were in Beijing one time, and he would go
• 3:18
through periods of obsession of different types of foods. He
• 3:21
would eat one thing for months at a time, and
• 3:23
he was on an oreo kick. And I forgot to
• 3:26
pack oreos for the trip to China, and he was
• 3:28
so angry that he had to have oreos FedEx from
• 3:31
New York to China. And it was like those things
• 3:35
in the moment were so important and so terrifying, and
• 3:38
they were always on a high alert of making sure
• 3:40
you didn't forget anything. And he was constantly giving you
• 3:43
more and more things, and he would ask that you
• 3:46
didn't exist in the world, like go source this, go
• 3:49
find this. So you were constantly trying to find something
• 3:52
that didn't exist, and if you couldn't find it, then
• 3:55
you'd have to try to find how to have it made.
• 3:59
So it was just be completely inundated with task and
• 4:01
responsibilities and then traveling. I traveled with them every two
• 4:05
to three days, so I always, you know, had to
• 4:09
pack a bag if we weren't staying at one of
• 4:11
the houses. And he would want his own bedding to
• 4:13
be brought if he was staying at a hotel, so
• 4:16
I would have to pack all the betting, and then
• 4:18
we would go to the hotel change his betting into
• 4:21
change the sheets out of the hotel, betting into his
• 4:24
sheets various projects. He eventually had me become his interior
• 4:29
designer because he was so difficult to work with, nobody
• 4:32
wanted to work with him anymore. So then I was
• 4:35
in charge of going out and getting fabric samples and
• 4:38
sourcing furniture and paint colors on top of all my
• 4:41
other responsibilities. Well, I was being sexually abused on a
• 4:44
regular basis. Question thank you over how many years did
• 4:49
your relationship take place? Answer? I met him well, technically,
• 4:53
I started working for him in two thousand end of
• 4:56
two thousand and one and started segueing out in twenty
• 4:59
twelve when I became engaged to my ex husband. Second
• 5:03
ex husband. Question is that when your relationship ended when
• 5:07
you segued out? Answer that's when I stopped working for him.
• 5:11
We would keep in contact occasionally, just kind of appease
• 5:14
them and not getting on his bad side. Question how
• 5:18
often would you communicate with mister Epstein? Answer at what
• 5:22
time period? Question over the time period that you work
• 5:25
with them? Answer almost daily. Depends on where we were
• 5:28
in New York, I answered to Glane, I mostly worked
• 5:31
out of her house when we were there, so she
• 5:34
would give me all my tasks in the morning. If
• 5:36
we were traveling, I would see Jeffrey every day because
• 5:40
I was staying at their homes or you know, in
• 5:42
a hotel with them. Question what was the matter of
• 5:46
your communications? What method did you communicate with them through?
• 5:50
Was it in person over email? Had it most frequently
• 5:53
communicate with them? And in which method? Answer? Mostly in person,
• 5:57
sometimes over the phone. In the first few years, he
• 6:00
didn't really use email. He didn't have a cell phone,
• 6:03
so he would call me mostly when he needed something
• 6:05
or wanted something, or to give me something. If I
• 6:09
was in New York or if it was at his home,
• 6:11
he would in person give me a list of things
• 6:14
to do. Question Was the communication always direct to you
• 6:18
or did he ever use intermediaries? Answer? Sometimes through assistance
• 6:23
in his Madison Avenue office in New York, Leslie Groff.
• 6:26
Other assistants that may have been at that office. There
• 6:30
was Helen Kim, a few others. Cecilia Stein, I believe
• 6:33
her name was, so sometimes he would give them tasks
• 6:37
for me to do. Question any other intermediaries beside the
• 6:41
assistance answer Glaine. Question did you sign a non disclosure
• 6:45
agreement upon being hired as Epstein's assistant. Answer yes. Question
• 6:51
what were the details of the agreement. I don't remember exactly.
• 6:55
I don't have a copy, but I remember there being
• 6:57
some sort of financial I would have to pay money
• 7:00
if I broke it. I forgot how much, but there
• 7:02
was a clause in there. Question did the NDA reference
• 7:06
any activity that you know was criminal in nature? Answer?
• 7:10
I don't remember what it said exactly. I just remember
• 7:13
that there being consequences monetarily. Question did the NDA reference
• 7:18
any massages or massuses? Answer no. Question Tell me about
• 7:23
your first interaction with Glenn Maxwell. Answer. It was on
• 7:27
the island that first trip. I remember her kind of
• 7:29
showing me some things around the island, like she had
• 7:32
these treasure chests that you would fill with pottery and
• 7:35
things that you would find on the island from when
• 7:37
it was like an old sugar mill. I remember that's
• 7:41
where she told me that you should really listen to
• 7:44
what Jeffrey has to say. You should listen to him
• 7:46
because he clearly knows what he's doing and he could
• 7:49
help you. I don't remember much else that particular trip
• 7:54
when I came when she called me, like a month
• 7:56
after the initial week she called me and was like,
• 7:59
can you come to Palm Beach today? And I was like,
• 8:02
I have to work tonight. I'm like, don't you have
• 8:04
to buy a flight like two weeks in advance. That's
• 8:07
kind of what I was always told. So she's like,
• 8:09
how about tomorrow? So I was like, okay, well, I
• 8:12
can ask for time off. And I flew out the
• 8:14
next day the Palm Beach and she put me to
• 8:17
work right away, like she had gotten back from a
• 8:20
trip to Paris, and she had me like help her
• 8:23
unpack her bags and showed me how to make Jeffrey's
• 8:26
coffee and to breakfast and where to buy newspapers in
• 8:28
the morning. I was helping with laundry, kind of just
• 8:31
anything that kind of needed to be done to serve them. Basically. Question.
• 8:37
You mentioned in your opening statement that you were on
• 8:39
call twenty four to seven. Answer, Uh huh. Question was
• 8:43
that the case when you first started? Answer? The entire
• 8:46
time my employment. I remember being at dinners with like
• 8:49
one of my boyfriends at the time and him calling
• 8:52
and I had to leave in the middle of dinner,
• 8:54
like I had to anytime he called or summoned me,
• 8:57
I had to jump and leave right away. Glene would
• 9:00
do the same thing. She would call. She did it
• 9:02
all the time to all the staff members. She would
• 9:04
call and just ask for unreasonable requests like ten o'clock
• 9:07
at night, can you come make Jeffrey this you know,
• 9:10
this snack or this meal, or they would just they
• 9:13
would do it to everybody. It was just completely overwhelming
• 9:16
and just there were no boundaries. Question how would you
• 9:20
characterize your relationship with Miss Maxwell? Answer? I thought she
• 9:24
was the most selfish person I had ever encountered. She
• 9:28
was mean and belittling. She would literally call me a slave,
• 9:31
her minion piglet polyp on a donkey's ass, like she
• 9:35
would belittle you as much as she could to make
• 9:38
herself more superior. She would do things like, you know,
• 9:42
just to make sure you knew that she was in charge.
• 9:45
She would, you know, ask me to make her a
• 9:46
cup of coffee, and I would make her coffee, and
• 9:49
then she would not even take a sip and let
• 9:51
it sit there for like an hour and be like,
• 9:53
can you make me another cup? And I felt like
• 9:56
she would just felt like she was on purpose created
• 9:59
a chaos so that I couldn't finish my tasks. That
• 10:02
she would then have to sweep in and save the
• 10:04
day and make it seem like it was needed or useful,
• 10:08
Miss Brignac. And we have another member who's just joined us.
• 10:12
Can you state your name for the record, Miss an Sorry, Yes,
• 10:16
Yasimin and sorry from Arizona's third District, Miss Brygnac. Question
• 10:21
did your relationship with Miss Maxwell change over the years? Answer?
• 10:26
The first several years I worked out of her house
• 10:29
in New York, and then she started kind of slowly
• 10:32
distancing herself from Jeffrey around the time he got arrested,
• 10:35
probably around two thousand and five time frame. She was
• 10:38
still around, you know, in charge of all the houses
• 10:41
and the staff, and you know, in charge of his life,
• 10:43
basically approving all the bills. She just didn't travel with
• 10:47
him as much. At that time she started dating Ted Waite,
• 10:50
so she was traveling with him a lot. Question. How
• 10:54
was mister Epstein as a boss? Answer? Terrifying. He was
• 10:58
like Jackal and Hyde. He could be the most charming,
• 11:01
like playful, what I consider generous at the time, Now
• 11:04
I know it was more about control. You didn't want
• 11:07
to get on his bad side. He could turn around
• 11:10
at the drop of a hat and you would see
• 11:12
the fire in his eyes. It was horrifying. I would
• 11:15
witness him bring even Glaine to tears, who I thought
• 11:18
was like the strongest, coldest woman I had met, And
• 11:21
you just didn't want his rage turned on you. It
• 11:25
was impossible to ask questions. He would get mad at
• 11:27
you and be like he would tell you something to do,
• 11:30
and you would try to ask for clarification, and he
• 11:33
would just be like, don't ask questions. Just do exactly
• 11:36
what I say, Like there's always a reason for everything
• 11:39
I tell you to do. Like you couldn't waver from
• 11:42
that at all. Question in professional settings, would he cross
• 11:46
the line as a boss? Answer? He sexually abused me
• 11:49
on a weekly basis. He would come into my room
• 11:52
at the house, wake me up, bless me. He would
• 11:54
literally just grab me by the hand pull me to
• 11:57
his bedroom. In New York, I even had my own
• 12:00
I had my own apartment that he let me stay in,
• 12:02
but he would call me at night and he had
• 12:04
a code word and that would call me and just
• 12:07
say cold sheets, and that meant I had to go
• 12:09
to his house and sleep with them. And he referred
• 12:11
to me as his human hot water bottle. Question did
• 12:15
he ever yell at you? Answer yes. Question did he
• 12:18
yell at other staff? Answer yes? Question was he inappropriate
• 12:23
towards other staff? Answer in what way? Question? In the
• 12:26
manner you've described so far, would he direct that towards
• 12:29
other staff members as well? Answer? I don't know. I
• 12:32
didn't witness any well, he would definitely yell and be
• 12:35
little and get mad at them if they didn't do
• 12:37
something to exact specifications. Question would he apologize afterwards? Answer? Never?
• 12:45
He never apologized to me once for anything. Question when
• 12:48
he was acting inappropriately? Were their witnesses? Miss? Ham jumps in,
• 12:52
can you clarify? Do you mean when he was yelling
• 12:55
at staff or maybe just a little bit of clarification
• 12:57
on inappropriate Brignac? However you interpret the question when he
• 13:02
would turn his rage on you or would act inappropriately?
• 13:05
Were their witnesses? Ham? Why don't you say how you're
• 13:08
interpreting the question inappropriate? Kellen? I mean either the house
• 13:12
staff or other assistants would have witnessed that Brignac. Did
• 13:16
you ever spend time with mister Epstein apart from your
• 13:19
duties as his assistant? Answer? I had a few times
• 13:22
of contact with him when I stopped working for him.
• 13:25
He would ask to see me sometimes in New York,
• 13:27
and I would see him at the townhouse in New York,
• 13:29
and I believe one time in Miami. All Right, folks,
• 13:33
that's going to do it for this one. All the
