• 1:00
I am with journalist Enzo Mauri, who introduces
• 1:03
the current topic. Good morning, today I am going
• 1:05
to talk about a comic book collection that Bomby,
• 1:08
the real name was Franco Bomvicini, had fun debunking
• 1:11
his numerous fans with stories of satirical comics
• 1:14
and for many revolutionary aspects, there is
• 1:16
no doubt. Few remember, however, that in the
• 1:18
early 80s he caught everyone by surprise when
• 1:21
he died. Play Gulp, even in the erotic genre.
• 1:25
The title Play Gulp allude with Play to the magazine
• 1:27
Vensile Playboy, on which the comic was published,
• 1:30
and with Gulp to the famous Super Gulp program
• 1:33
in the wave on the rail, until 1981, a program
• 1:36
where Nick Carter appeared, character born from
• 1:39
the pen of the modernist artist and of Guido
• 1:41
de Maria, and Stump Truppen, who then, to think
• 1:44
about it, from the beginning Bonvich had got
• 1:46
used to a his anti -conventional dress. It is
• 1:49
said that the mother, to obtain during the the
• 1:52
double -headed Nonaria had registered him to
• 1:54
the Anagraphes both in Modena and in Parma, causing,
• 1:57
once famous, a sort of controversy between the
• 2:00
two cities regarding the attribution of the place
• 2:02
of birth of the artist. His disappearance, which
• 2:05
came in 1995, left everyone stunned by the circumstances
• 2:09
in which it happened. Bonvy was invested by a
• 2:11
car while he was staying as a guest at the Roxy
• 2:14
Bar transmission, led by Red Ronnie, and he wanted
• 2:16
to do it to sell new tables whose owners would
• 2:20
have gone to the ... M .C .L. www .lexmcl .it
• 3:10
in PAPSI instead of BOMBETTA and wore a classic
• 3:14
American fedora hat. In the end, TEN was never
• 3:17
called by name. In porn, FUMETTO, Bomby parodied
• 3:20
superheroes like Superman, Batman, Hulk and Flash
• 3:23
Gordon, called Splash Gordon, but also classic
• 3:26
characters like Iron Man and Olivia, drawn in
• 3:29
rather explicit poses. Those taken by Mira in
• 3:32
particular were the characters of Japanese anime.
• 3:35
In an interview of the period, Bomby confessed
• 3:37
in fact that he wanted to have fun with the series.
• 3:39
Japanese animated series that had started to
• 3:41
invade Italian TV, not without controversy from
• 3:44
parents who considered them too violent for their
• 3:47
children. Here in Play Gulp appeared Gold Drake,
• 3:50
Mazinga, Mazinga Z, Actarus, but also Heidi with
• 3:54
grandfather Peter, Remy, in a beast not really
• 3:56
consonant. All the characters, however, for obvious
• 3:58
reasons of copyright, had similar appearances,
• 4:00
but not identical to the originals, and when
• 4:03
mentioned, the names were distorted. Considering
• 4:05
the number of publications and the particularity
• 4:08
of the comic, Play Gulp in the years has become
• 4:10
a rarity particularly envied by collectors. Thanks
• 4:13
