Last week we looked at keeping our lamps lit and to be ready for Jesus’ return and to stay faithful. The Bible speaks a lot about being ready, prepared, alert and awake and faithful. The contrast is to be asleep, distracted or unaware. We looked at Demas, who when the persecution increased, he turned away from the faith and Paul. This is always a danger for each of us. We can think that what we are facing is beyond our ability to bear. We can decide to turn away and leave the faith.
