- 0:00Speaker 1: Now back to the Mark Simo Show on wo R. Well,
- 0:05Speaker 1: Miranda Divine, the biggest and best columnist around. You can
- 0:08Speaker 1: read a column in The New York Post. Make sure
- 0:10Speaker 1: you listen to her excellent podcast. It's called pod Force one,
- 0:15Speaker 1: great guests every week. Podforce one is available wherever you
- 0:18Speaker 1: get podcasts, and get her latest book, The Big Guys.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Whether she's written some great bestsellers. Miranda Divine, how you doing?
- 0:27Speaker 2: Hey? Thanks so much, Mike, I'm great.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Hey. I love this column about Michelle Obama. What is
- 0:33Speaker 1: she doing? She's been on this whining tour complaining about
- 0:36Speaker 1: how bad America was to her.
- 0:38Speaker 2: What is that?
- 0:38Speaker 1: What got into her?
- 0:42Speaker 2: Well, my personal theory is that her complaints are just
- 0:47Speaker 2: so absurd. You know, she says it was such a
- 0:50Speaker 2: burden to have hair and makeup and fashion stylists when
- 0:54Speaker 2: she was at the White House, and you know how
- 0:57Speaker 2: tough life was. I just think that she's trying to
- 1:01Speaker 2: portray herself as a victim because now that the Commings
- 1:04Speaker 2: are in charge of her husband's party, she has to
- 1:09Speaker 2: kind of stop them asking why she has so many
- 1:12Speaker 2: mansions and try and make them feel sorry for her.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Ah, that's a good point. But her complaining with somebody
- 1:21Speaker 1: who has a multiple twenty five million dollar mansions and
- 1:25Speaker 1: flying around in private jets all over the place. But
- 1:29Speaker 1: it's tough for people like her and Bill Clinton and
- 1:33Speaker 1: to go back to obscurity, isn't it. They just can't
- 1:37Speaker 1: get off the stage.
- 1:39Speaker 2: So hard for them, you know, my heart leads. We've
- 1:42Speaker 2: got Nancy Pelosi's the other one. She's decided, at the
- 1:46Speaker 2: grand old age of eighty five that she might decide
- 1:49Speaker 2: to retire in a couple of years. And I think
- 1:53Speaker 2: that she's doing it just in the nick of time
- 1:57Speaker 2: before Zoram, you know, the rich Mamdani and his crew
- 2:02Speaker 2: take over the party and start asking questions about her
- 2:07Speaker 2: little one hundred and forty million dollar hall that she's
- 2:12Speaker 2: dragging away from her stock tips, very very prescient, her
- 2:17Speaker 2: little little, you know, stock market portfolio.
- 2:21Speaker 1: That's a very interesting theory that all of these dirty
- 2:25Speaker 1: politicians are going into hiding before the Communists take over.
- 2:29Speaker 1: But Mam Dannie, so far, the people he's chosen, Transition
- 2:33Speaker 1: team others, they're all extra Blasio people. So we got
- 2:37Speaker 1: through Deblasio for eight years, We'll get through this, won't we.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Look, the problem is I think Deblasio was always high
- 2:48Speaker 2: and late to work and diving off going to his
- 2:53Speaker 2: gym in Brooklyn, and you know, he just didn't do
- 2:56Speaker 2: a lot, and so he still created mayhem and the
- 3:00Speaker 2: city just went downhill, so palpably on his watch. But
- 3:05Speaker 2: Mamdani is more of an ideologue. You know, he's more determined,
- 3:09Speaker 2: he has more energy. He really wants to shake up
- 3:15Speaker 2: the place. And that's what I worry about. And the
- 3:18Speaker 2: other thing is that with Deblasio, we're coming off a
- 3:23Speaker 2: pretty good level. You know, it was a Rudy Giuliani
- 3:26Speaker 2: Bloomberg city, and so there was a long way to fall.
- 3:30Speaker 2: But we don't have a long way to fall anymore
- 3:33Speaker 2: before we're just off the planet. The city is already
- 3:38Speaker 2: difficult to live in. Eric Adams has sort of arrested
- 3:41Speaker 2: the decline a little bit, but once he's gone, you know,
- 3:46Speaker 2: we're going to have violence interrupters, social workers in law
- 3:51Speaker 2: of police and already we have governors from red states
- 3:56Speaker 2: like Ronda Santis in Florida putting out feelers for our
- 4:02Speaker 2: NYPD officers. They're going to give them bonuses if they move,
- 4:06Speaker 2: and I think it's very difficult for them not to
- 4:09Speaker 2: sort of accept the good ones anyway, not to accept
- 4:13Speaker 2: those bribes to leave New York.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Hey. Miranda Devine does an excellent podcast, one of the
- 4:20Speaker 1: best podcasts out there. It's called Podforce one. The latest
- 4:23Speaker 1: one is Eric Trump Boy. That was interesting. Tell us
- 4:26Speaker 1: about your impressions of Eric Trump.
- 4:29Speaker 2: He is just a really delightful person. And I guess
- 4:33Speaker 2: the big takeout I get from all of the Trump
- 4:38Speaker 2: five children is just how well adjusted and kind of
- 4:42Speaker 2: decent they are. Eric Trump is really, as his father
- 4:46Speaker 2: calls him, a good boy, and he described his childhood.
- 4:51Speaker 2: His mother, Ivana Trump, was really tough. She was, you know,
- 4:58Speaker 2: check from from basically behind the iron curtain. She was
- 5:03Speaker 2: a champion skier, and so she really ruled their family
- 5:09Speaker 2: with iron discipline. And what Eric said was if it
- 5:14Speaker 2: got past my mum to my father, you knew were
- 5:18Speaker 2: really in trouble, But it really didn't because she just
- 5:22Speaker 2: made sure that all those energetic kids with type A
- 5:26Speaker 2: personalities that Eric describes them were held in line. And
- 5:32Speaker 2: their father also during the holidays, got them to go
- 5:36Speaker 2: and work on his various construction sites for minimum wage.
- 5:39Speaker 2: And Eric saidy absolutely loved it, like he loved working
- 5:44Speaker 2: with his hands. They were absolutely exhausted by the end
- 5:47Speaker 2: of the day. And his father also said no drinking,
- 5:51Speaker 2: no smoking, no drugs, and that was the one ironclad
- 5:57Speaker 2: rule for the family. And Eric said, look, by the
- 5:59Speaker 2: end of the workday, we were so exhausted, and we
- 6:03Speaker 2: also knew how hard it had been to earn that
- 6:06Speaker 2: twenty bucks that we you know, his I just didn't
- 6:10Speaker 2: want to spend it on a slab of beer. And
- 6:13Speaker 2: he also said that, you know, he went to all
- 6:16Speaker 2: the best schools, colleges, et cetera. And he said most
- 6:20Speaker 2: of his peers ended up in rehab or some sort
- 6:24Speaker 2: of problem because they had too much time and too
- 6:27Speaker 2: much money.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a fascinating podcast, go listen to it. Its
- 6:31Speaker 1: pod Force one, Miranda Divine's podcast. Latest episode is Eric Trump.
- 6:36Speaker 1: So you wrote the definitive book on Hunter Biden. So
- 6:39Speaker 1: are you saying Eric Trump was a little better raised
- 6:42Speaker 1: than Hunter was?
- 6:45Speaker 2: Yes, yes, far better. And look, I don't blame Hunter honestly,
- 6:50Speaker 2: his father is just the most treacherous and dishonest politician
- 6:58Speaker 2: I think I have ever counted, and deeply selfish. And
- 7:02Speaker 2: so when you know that great tragedy happened in Hunter's
- 7:06Speaker 2: life where his mother who was killed in a car crash,
- 7:09Speaker 2: and his little sister died as well, and he and
- 7:13Speaker 2: his brother were in the back seat quite badly injured.
- 7:17Speaker 2: His father had just been elected to the Senate in
- 7:20Speaker 2: a fluke, and he could have forgone that great opportunity
- 7:28Speaker 2: to stay at home and look after his kids, but
- 7:30Speaker 2: he didn't. And I think all of Hunter's problems stem
- 7:34Speaker 2: from that. He was brought up. You know, his aunt
- 7:37Speaker 2: was very decent, his uncle, extended family brought him up,
- 7:41Speaker 2: and Joe would come home, he claimed every night on
- 7:45Speaker 2: the Amtrak of I hear other stories that when he
- 7:49Speaker 2: did come home, it was too late to do anything
- 7:52Speaker 2: other than, you know, looking on them when they slept.
- 7:55Speaker 2: But anyway, I just don't think he was a very
- 7:59Speaker 2: good father. And and you know, poor poor Hunter, this
- 8:06Speaker 2: motherless kid. And then his stepmother, Jill Biden, when she
- 8:10Speaker 2: came on the scene a few years later, when she
- 8:14Speaker 2: was already on the scene, but when she married Joe
- 8:17Speaker 2: moved in, Hunter just felt she didn't like him, and
- 8:21Speaker 2: so that was another burden to put up with. So
- 8:25Speaker 2: and then his father, you know, instead of letting him
- 8:27Speaker 2: be an author or an artist, which is what he
- 8:29Speaker 2: wanted his father met him be the bag man for
- 8:32Speaker 2: the family and go into business, and he didn't really
- 8:35Speaker 2: want to do that, so you can hardly you can
- 8:39Speaker 2: sort of understand why he fell into drugs.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Yes, that's pretty interesting, and you have a good heart
- 8:47Speaker 1: and a good amount of sympathy for him. You should
- 8:51Speaker 1: get her book, Laptop from Hell and The Big Guy,
- 8:55Speaker 1: the two best books on the on the Biden family.
- 9:00Speaker 1: We only got a minute left. Tell me you brought
- 9:01Speaker 1: this up last time. This was so fascinating, had so
- 9:04Speaker 1: much reaction to this. The reason for the Trump arrangement syndrome,
- 9:07Speaker 1: the reason they hate him so much? It's what was it?
- 9:09Speaker 1: You said? It was the masculinity. He's like a daddy.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Why do they hate him so much?
- 9:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it really is deranged. It really seems
- 9:21Speaker 2: to be a psychological problem, and women are particularly afflicted,
- 9:26Speaker 2: and it just seems like they have daddy problems. You know,
- 9:30Speaker 2: he is unabashedly a throwback masculine, you know, something that
- 9:36Speaker 2: the Left has been trying to stab out for the
- 9:39Speaker 2: last twenty years, calling it toxic masculinity, making little boys
- 9:44Speaker 2: be ashamed of their intrinsic natures, which you know, those
- 9:48Speaker 2: intrinsic natures are what have allowed civilization to survive, human flourishing.
- 9:55Speaker 2: And you know, you stamp out strong men, what do
- 9:58Speaker 2: you get? You get a lot of toxic And I
- 10:01Speaker 2: think that's what Trump de arrangements and drummy. I mean,
- 10:04Speaker 2: I write about Jennifer Welsh, who's this atheist podcaster I
- 10:08Speaker 2: had never heard of until just recently. She's been elevated
- 10:11Speaker 2: as the kind of Democrats answer to Joe Rogan. And
- 10:15Speaker 2: she is the most toxic person I have ever seen
- 10:20Speaker 2: in my life. Really, just so such a self hating
- 10:24Speaker 2: white woman. She was there at Mamdani's victory party and
- 10:29Speaker 2: she's just going on about She's talking to two non
- 10:33Speaker 2: white people who lefties, and she's just talking about how, oh,
- 10:39Speaker 2: if there were white people here at this party, the
- 10:41Speaker 2: music would be terrible, and Americans have no culture and
- 10:45Speaker 2: we need to teach the crusty old white people about culture.
- 10:50Speaker 2: We have to teach them. She's just scary, scary woman.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Wow. Well, Miranda Devine brilliant as always. Get her a podcast.
- 10:59Speaker 1: You got to listen to this guest every week. It's
- 11:01Speaker 1: pod Force one wherever you get your podcast reader columns,
- 11:04Speaker 1: The New York Post. Make sure you get our latest book,
- 11:06Speaker 1: The Big Guy, fascinating stuff about the Bidens. Miranda Devine. Thanks,
- 11:11Speaker 1: we'll talk again soon.
- 11:13Speaker 2: Thanks Mack, You're very kind.
- 11:15Speaker 1: All right, take care. Hey, don't forget Buck and Clay.
- 11:18Speaker 1: I do a wonderful show every day noon to three.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Then at three o'clock you got the most listened to
- 11:23Speaker 1: radio show in America, Sean Hannity. I'll be a guest
- 11:27Speaker 1: somewhere today, I think in the final hour on the
- 11:30Speaker 1: Sean Hannity Show. And then you got Jesse Kelly at
- 11:32Speaker 1: six and Jimmy Fayla. Boy, what a great show every
- 11:35Speaker 1: night nine to midnight. It's all right here on seven
- 11:39Speaker 1: to ten wor
