- 1:36[SPEAKER_02]: Well, everybody had a fantastic Labor Day weekend.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_02]: I know we did went out on the boat on the river the other day.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_02]: It was a ton of fun.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_02]: College football all weekend long.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_02]: If you had your fancy football drops, I know we had all of our dog pack fantasy football drops.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_02]: this weekend, ton of stuff going on and now we're all what back to work, right?
- 1:58[SPEAKER_02]: And, and that long weekend is over, but we do have the first weekend of NFL football.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: Here we are.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_02]: It is week one kick off to the Bengals game.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_02]: The Browns are opening the season at home against the Bengals on Sunday.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_02]: We will be doing
- 2:15[SPEAKER_02]: our full preview show for that game later this week and you know we'll go through why we think the Brown spoiler alert are going to win the game and start off the season want to know so stay tuned for that but today what I want to dive into.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_02]: There's some Quenchon Judkins
- 2:33[SPEAKER_02]: News.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if I really even call it news, but just a little potential insight update type thing that I want to dive into from Mary Kay Cabot.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_02]: And we will also be talking about some of the information that came out from the first practice of the week yesterday.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_02]: Some injury news and updates, things like that.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_02]: And then I do want to talk a little bit of what happened in college football this past week and primarily in regards to the quarterbacks.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_02]: I know that may be a topic that you're not ready to listen to or talk about yet until the season gets a little more underway.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_02]: But this is what it's going to be like this season with the Browns having two first round picks and no clear future answer at quarterback currently.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_02]: Now obviously I'm not saying that
- 3:16[SPEAKER_02]: You know, Dylan or Shador cannot be the future.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just saying at this point in time, there is no clear and obvious answer that would stop the Browns from using one of those or potentially both of those first round picks on a quarterback.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll talk about that too.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_02]: Before we dive in, make sure you guys like the video on YouTube, subscribe to the channel and tap the notification bell.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_02]: If you're listening on audio, drop us a five star written review, especially on Apple podcast, like the written reviews, the five stars, those really, really help the show.

- 3:57[SPEAKER_02]: That's where you want to be if you don't if you don't have like a group of buddies or anybody at home that
- 4:03[SPEAKER_02]: is really into the game or that you can really talk to or vent to or whatever, unleash your frustrations during the game.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_02]: The dog pack is the place to be the discord as poppin.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_02]: Every single game dates just that is where you want to be.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_02]: So get in now, join the dogs.com.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_02]: And again, I want to thank everybody who participated in the fancy football leagues this year with the dog pack.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_02]: I know we had our all of our drafts.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_02]: And I want to just tell everybody here, we had nine leagues this year, nine drafts.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_02]: So it would have been impossible to coordinate ninety people in nine different drafts for one specific time to run a, you know, a minute and a half per pick draft.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_02]: over the Labor Day weekend for nine drafts that was impossible so what we did is we did slow drafts so that every draft online draft started at noon on Saturday and everybody had two hours on the clock for their pick and the draft just rolled through the weekend and you know as you were up you had a couple hours to make your pick if you were working or you were you know out on the boat with your family or whatever the case may be over the weekend you had time
- 5:11[SPEAKER_02]: that hopefully you didn't have to miss your pick we didn't want anybody to have to auto draft their entire team just because you know seven out of the ten people in the league said okay two o'clock on Saturday works for us and then the other three people get screwed so that's why we did it slow drafts and that's likely how we're going to continue doing the future two hours might have been a little too long to start with
- 5:32[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe an hour, but either way, all the drafts at this point, I believe are complete.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_02]: There might be one or two that still have to finish out their last round, but either way.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_02]: We are getting ready to roll for fantasy football.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_02]: And speaking of fantasy football, where are we drafting grounds players for fantasy football?
- 5:49[SPEAKER_02]: We're talking
- 5:50[SPEAKER_02]: You know, where's Jerry Judy?
- 5:52[SPEAKER_02]: Are you high on Jerry Judy just started the season with Joe Flacco?
- 5:55[SPEAKER_02]: David and Joe Koo and Joe Flacco had an amazing run together at the end of twenty twenty three and Joe Koo could start the season very strong.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_02]: And then what are we doing with our running back situation?
- 6:06[SPEAKER_02]: And that leads us into this quenchant judgekins.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_02]: conversation.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_02]: So the other day, Cleveland dot com, Mary K. Cabot did her hey, Mary K column over the weekend.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_02]: One of the questions was, when will we finally have quench on judgekins back on the team?
- 6:22[SPEAKER_02]: And her answer was, I believe judgekins will be back with the Brown soon, possibly even some time this week as they prepare for the Bengals.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_02]: If he makes it back early enough in the week, he could possibly contribute some in the opener.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, again, this is, she's not saying that the Browns have told me this or, you know, per my sources or anything like that.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_02]: But you gotta remember, and I know a lot of people are real quick to jump all over these Cleveland media, you know, personalities.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_02]: No, they don't know Jack Squad.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_02]: You gotta remember though, they are very connected to the team.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_02]: They get inside access.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_02]: They get to talk to the coaches.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_02]: They get to be at practice.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_02]: They get to have conversations with people that are around the team.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_02]: So when they say things like this, I don't want to just completely dismiss anything they say.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_02]: I like to look at it and try to figure out where they're coming from or whatever, but this is interesting because
- 7:17[SPEAKER_02]: for Mary Kate to say something as specific as possible, even sometime this week.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_02]: And then to go a little further to say, if he makes it back early enough in the week, he could possibly contribute in the opener.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_02]: So she's very much expecting the Browns to sign Quenchon Judkins this week.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_02]: Who knows, by the time you guys are watching this, listen this by the time I get this out, maybe the news drops and they get, it's done.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_02]: And Judkins is signed.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_02]: But either way, she's talking about early enough in the week.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_02]: Now this is what Tuesday.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_02]: Again, still early in the week and this could possibly get done.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_02]: She says she goes on to say the hold up must be with the guarantees in his contract more than anything because the amounts are slotted.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_02]: He's due to make about eleven point four million dollars over four years with a signing bonus close to five million dollars.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_02]: The NFL is still reviewing his case under its personal conduct policy to determine if he should be suspended for his domestic battery incident even though charges were dropped.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to go too much into that whole thing within a false spending him.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_02]: If you guys have watched a show, you know, my personal opinion is zero games.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_02]: He shouldn't, they shouldn't even be investigating this anymore.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_02]: That should be an open and shut thing.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how you can suspend a guy who
- 8:35[SPEAKER_02]: Essentially got falsely accused.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's I mean, that's that's basically how this thing turned out.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_02]: That's that's basically the court said, Hey, there's no case here.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_02]: There's no evidence to support anything.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_02]: This woman is saying actually the evidence that they talked about pretty much pointed to the fact that or pointed more to she was making it up.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_02]: That's right.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just saying that's that's how it came out.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_02]: So if the NFL decides to suspend him, I don't really know what grounds they're doing it on, but
- 9:04[SPEAKER_02]: The guarantees in the contract.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_02]: Let's talk about that.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_02]: We have talked about it.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_02]: A ton on the show.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_02]: Browns.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_02]: Andrew Barry.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, frickin' pay the guy.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_02]: You drafted Quinn Sean Judkins at thirty-six.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_02]: a top-boarding pick in the NFL draft.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_02]: You allocated to this running back because you identified him and handpicked him and selected him to be the lead ball carrier of your run-focused offense.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_02]: He is supposed to be the fuel that powers the engine of the offense.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_02]: What are we doing?
- 9:44[SPEAKER_02]: So he gets suspended for three games.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_02]: If it's any more than three games, I will really blow my crap.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_02]: So what?
- 9:52[SPEAKER_02]: So what?
- 9:53[SPEAKER_02]: Does that, are you trying to get some sort of monetary discount out of this thing for the next four years?
- 10:01[SPEAKER_02]: The guy is going to be here.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to be your, the focal point of your offense for at least the next four years because whether it's Dylan Gabriel or should or Sanders who ends up being the future of this team or it's unnamed said rookie that we draft next year or in twenty twenty seven.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_02]: In all of those scenarios, you still need a ground and pound attack to help that quarterback to funnel things through in this offense.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_02]: And you picked Quinn Sean Judkins to be that guy.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_02]: Sign him.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_02]: Get it done.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_02]: Get him in here.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_02]: The more time you miss is just the worse off this is going to be.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_02]: Get him in here.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_02]: I have talked a lot of people over the weekend obviously we do a ton of family stuff on Labor Day people keep asking my opinion what's going on on a quenchon all this stuff you know he he's the one who got in trouble you know and got arrested he shouldn't be asking for more than what blah blah blah and I just keep telling everybody listen if I'm quenchon judge can's agent this is I
- 10:59[SPEAKER_02]: Ops, dumps, go into the brown, say, you give him the fully guaranteed contract.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_02]: You were gonna give him.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_02]: You're fully guaranteed.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_02]: Your pick, thirty-three's contract, Carson's Westinger.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_02]: So pick, thirty-three got fully guaranteed.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_02]: Pick, thirty-four in the draft got fully guaranteed.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_02]: That would be Jayden Higgins from the Houston Texans.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_02]: Pick, and again, I should have brought up the list of all these guys and see what they actually ended up getting from their teams.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_02]: But I know pick, thirty-eight.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_02]: Travy on Henderson, a running back.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_02]: with the New England Patriot's got his contract full of guaranteed.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of like the house market.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_02]: Like, what is the value of the house is around me?
- 11:38[SPEAKER_02]: You know, should help determine the value of my house and all that kind of stuff or, you know, lend a large portion of it.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_02]: Look at the value of these contracts around Quenchon Judkins in the draft full of guaranteed, full of guaranteed, another running back taken two picks later, full of guaranteed.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_02]: If I'm his agent, I'm saying Quenchon Judkins needs to be full of guaranteed.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_02]: And then the Browns obviously are going to say, well, he might be suspended.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_02]: He had the arrest and all this stuff.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_02]: And if on the agent, I'm saying everything's dropped.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_02]: As far as the court's concerned, it didn't happen.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_02]: There's nothing there.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_02]: There's no there is no legal thing now going on to point to.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, if the Browns had just signed him,
- 12:20[SPEAKER_02]: before training camp and understand why they didn't, but I'm saying if they would have, he would have been there for all of training camp.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_02]: He would have been there for all of preseason.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_02]: This whole thing would have been dropped.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_02]: He would be perhaps ready to go as the starter for week one against the Bengals, and we would be talking about this.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, they had the contract dispute, and obviously take the arrest out of it, say that had never happened, that he would have come in day one of training camp, just like all the other second round rookies across the league, and the contract would have gotten done.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_02]: and I am convinced it would have been a fully guaranteed contract.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_02]: It's just how it would have gone.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_02]: So if I'm his agent, I am still arguing for exactly what it would have been because everything was dropped.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_02]: So get him signed, Browns.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sick and tired of this crap.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_02]: Just get him signed.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_02]: We're all tired of it.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_02]: We're all just don't let this drag into the season and the thing with Quintron, Judge Kins and the Browns.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_02]: This contract, the Browns historically do not let these contract disputes, at least under Andrew Barry in this recurrent front office regime.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_02]: They don't let this stuff linger and carry over into the season to be a distraction when games are being played and prepared for and all that kind of stuff.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_02]: I agree with Mary Kay, like I could fully well see this getting done this week.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_02]: Now, if it doesn't, obviously it's going to continue being a talking point, a main point of contention, a key question that these, that the coach and everybody are going to get asked in press conferences every single week.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_02]: And I know they don't want that.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_02]: I do put the likelihood at relatively likely this gets done this week.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_02]: I'm very hopeful.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_02]: We need him and we'll see.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see how this goes.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so moving into some of the stuff from the other day.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see Ethan Posick practiced.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_02]: Really good.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_02]: He left the preseason game last Saturday against the Rams with a knee injury.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_02]: and we really got no updates on that it was we'll see if you know I think they what was Kevin's quote something like we we hope he's good for the opener something like that so we didn't know they obviously said they felt confident and look whiplier if he was
- 14:31[SPEAKER_02]: As to, you know, fill in and start for Ethan Posick and week one.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_02]: And overall, Luke Whippler had a very good preseason.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_02]: He's a guy, you know, he lost his entire second season last year due to that broken ankle.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was broken, yeah, I think it was broken ankle.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_02]: missed the whole season all that kind of stuff but came out of Ohio State the year before as a rookie and in that preseason played very well at Ohio State in college I forget the stats we were very excited that Brown's grabbed him and what was the sixth round it was late in the draft and we got Luke Whippler and I mean that whole season at Ohio State and you're going up against some decent pass rushers and defenses in the big ten and that kind of stuff
- 15:12[SPEAKER_02]: And Lou Whippler gave up very few pressures.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if he gave up any sacks at all.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_02]: His last season in college and he was just a very good center, a little undersized for the NFL.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe he has the shorter arms for the NFL and all that kind of stuff.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_02]: There were reasons why he wasn't picked higher.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_02]: But it doesn't mean the kid can't play.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_02]: And by all accounts, and I'm basing this off people that evaluate offensive line play, I was not an offensive line in myself.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_02]: I don't specialize in evaluating offensive line in, but a lot of people who do look at those positions and watch that tape have said Luke Whiplier had a very good preseason.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_02]: He was named one of the Browns
- 15:51[SPEAKER_02]: MVP's are top five players from the preseason.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_02]: It was what Carson Swesinger, Dylan Gabriel, Aiden Huntington, Gage Larva Dan, and Luke Whipler were the Browns five guys, like they're their top five players.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_02]: that the team picked from the preseason so that's really encouraging to see a couple other things they say Mike Hall still not no updates on whether or not he'll be ready and available for Sunday he's at practice I believe working off to the side still I whatever that means that
- 16:23[SPEAKER_02]: He's not in there doing team drills or getting any sort of heavy duty practice.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_02]: So I would put the likelihood that my call suits up in plays in Sunday's game low.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's much more likely, obviously, that Ethan Posick plays.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_02]: And I think Kevin's defense even said about Posick.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_02]: Like he looks good.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's ready and all that kind of stuff.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if they actually declared that he's going to be good to go for Sunday.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_02]: But all the vibes are pointing toward yes, Ethan posts.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_02]: It should be available and ready to go.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_02]: My call, uh, not exactly sure Muhammad Diabody still not exactly sure what's going on with some of these other injuries.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll kind of keep that.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_02]: Keep watching those things here the next couple of days.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_02]: We'll update anything that knew that comes out on the preview show later this week.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_02]: We'll keep posting things on X and, you know, Facebook and social media stuff.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_02]: So follow us everywhere at the dogs podcast to stay current.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_02]: with all the updates because obviously we can't just drop podcasts every time there's an update.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_02]: So we're trying to keep you guys as informed as humanly possible with this team as things move forward.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the new cycle is going to news every day all day long.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_02]: And it's a ton of fun.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_02]: But I'm just glad it's game week and we're getting ready for some actual meaningful football for the Browns here in twenty twenty five.

- 20:20[SPEAKER_02]: So when around social media and everything on or over the weekend here on Saturday, Brown's GM Andrew Barry and owner Jimmy has them were in Columbus on the sidelines for the Ohio State Texas game.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_02]: The big marquee matchup that kick off the college football season, you got number three Ohio State hosting number one Texas and future Brown's number one overall pit quarterback arch manning or so, everybody seems to be assuming now.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_02]: It, everyone's saying, you know, those guys are down there looking at arch and all this stuff.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, sure.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_02]: They're down there to watch arch, but they're also down there to watch all the future NFL players that will be in the twenty twenty six draft from both of these teams.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_02]: These are two of the top college football teams.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_02]: They're going to put out top NFL talent in the draft next season.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_02]: So it just makes sense to what is a two hour trip from Cleveland down to
- 21:16[SPEAKER_02]: Columbus, I mean, they'd be dumb not to be there, scouting these guys in person because it's a great opportunity.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_02]: So to kind of stick with the quarterback thing though, I mean, arch manning, it's his first, was it his first starter, or his first start against like a ringty, I forget what the situation was.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_02]: He might start a one game last year against the Poe dunk opponent, or I forget, I forget the case.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_02]: But either way, this was his big time debut, arch manning.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_02]: The next in the manning line and
- 21:45[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, if you watch the game, there was nothing impressive.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_02]: This was a team or a game with two very good defensive game plans ready for the other squad.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_02]: The map Patricia for the defensive coordinator for the buck guys had had the buck guys doing some insane NFL pro style level things on defense and it was a very tough matchup.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_02]: for arch manning in his first spotlight like this.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_02]: He went seventeen of thirty for a hundred seventy yards a touchdown and a pick.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_02]: There was another throw that was almost picked off and his touchdown came late in the game.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_02]: It was the touchdown throw was a nice pass.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_02]: And it kind of went full circle from his first throw.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_02]: The game was, you know, he had a receiver open in the zone between three defenders, but I mean, like, there he had a lot of separation, a lot of space.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_02]: He was basically wide open and manning through a Dishon Watson ball, five yards into the dirt in front of the receiver.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, whoa, what was that?
- 22:47[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, I think that they're probably the jitters and he's on the road and it's his first ever spotlight star and there's all this hype and pressure and the defense was suffocating from Ohio State.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_02]: So while a lot of people are going to be quick to say, Oh, yeah, Archman is a bus and all this stuff.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_02]: It was this first game.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_02]: And this is how college football is.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_02]: I just want to remind everybody
- 23:09[SPEAKER_02]: you know CJ Straud in his first season as the Ohio State book I started quarterback got benched.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if a lot of people even know that or remember that.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_02]: CJ Straud got benched a few get for you how many games into the season.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_02]: They benched him and went with
- 23:26[SPEAKER_02]: I don't remember who the backup was at that point and because he was he was bad.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_02]: He sucked.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_02]: He just he he looked like this kid ain't gonna make it through the season.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_02]: He's just not up for the job.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_02]: He's not up to the task to handle this starting quarterback spotted Ohio State.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_02]: By the end of that same season, CJ Stroud was in Heisman conversations.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_02]: And was one of the, you know, preseason Heisman candidates, the following season.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_02]: So things can change drastically.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_02]: They always do from the kickoff of college football season to the end much more than in the NFL for teams.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_02]: Because in college, you've got new players at all these different positions and they are still developing still growing.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_02]: So you definitely do see the growth and progress from players from week
- 24:12[SPEAKER_02]: one all the way through the end of the season.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_02]: So archmanning I do think he's going to obviously get better and you know this is not the the end all be all of his career but as far as the way things started out.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_02]: It did not start out all that pretty for arch manning, but if we want to talk about a few of these other college quarterbacks that the Browns could potentially be looking at in the twenty twenty six draft.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_02]: Bear with me, this isn't even my favorite thing to talk about, but I do think it's important to at least mention these names and talk about this stuff as the Brown season goes on because as the Brown season goes on, we'll get a better idea.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_02]: of what our team is going forward, what the quarterback situation may or may not look like depending on how Joe Flacco plays and if and when there's a transition to Dylan Gabriel and how he looks and if there's a transition to should or Sanders and how he looks and all that kind of stuff.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_02]: We had those two first round picks next year.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_02]: It is still probably the most likely outcome that we take a quarter back in the first round.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_02]: Whether you like to hear that or not, whether you're like me and you already bought your Shidorah Sanders jersey and all that kind of stuff.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_02]: The most likely outcome probably at this point in time is still the Browns will take a first round quarterback.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_02]: But we'll see how things go obviously.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_02]: If we end up making the playoffs and things go crazy this season and we have like the twenty-third pick in the draft and the Jake wires do well and they have like the twenty-seventh pick in the draft.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_02]: Well, maybe this is a different story.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_02]: And that's why we got to let things play out.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_02]: But if we move over to the Penn State game, they played Nevada
- 25:48[SPEAKER_02]: And so for Drew Aller, this is Drew Aller, the, you know, the local Cleveland guy playing over a Penn State had a solid performance, twenty two of twenty six, two, seventeen and a touchdown.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_02]: It's, I watched some of this game and I thought Drew Aller looked, he looked good, he's a big kid, he's got a good strong arm and all that kind of stuff.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_02]: It's just hard to, they played Nevada.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_02]: It was like a very much a warm-up game.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_02]: This was not Ohio State playing Texas or for Archmany, Texas playing Ohio State.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_02]: This was Penn State getting a nice cushy cozy warm-up game Drew Aller didn't even play.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_02]: I don't even know he might have got pulled in the third quarter because they were up so, so big.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_02]: So that's just another name to keep track of this Drew.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_02]: So we go Archman and we go Drew Aller.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_02]: The big marquee match up between quarterbacks.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_02]: as far as the twenty twenty six NFL draft goes was Saturday night between the LSU Tigers and the Clemson Tigers interesting match up here again this was a lot closer to like the Ohio State Texas situation where you've got slower starting off fences to begin the year always the case in college football stronger defensive performances the LSU Tigers ended up winning seventeen to ten over Clemson
- 27:07[SPEAKER_02]: So you've got on the Clemson side, we'll start with Cade Club Nick, because Cade Club Nick is a guy that I've seen mocked to the Browns, number one overall, and some of these mocks, or, you know, top five to the Browns and things like that.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see how the season progresses for Kate Clubnik.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not taking any overarching takeaway.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I'm not making any declarative statements about these guys after one game.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_02]: Kate Clubnik did not impress me in the first game.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_02]: That's all I'll say.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_02]: He looked erratic.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_02]: He looked shaken under pressure.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_02]: Just he did not look like the types of things that you want to see, especially in like a Kevin's defense offense.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_02]: I just, I wasn't impressed.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_02]: A nineteen of thirty eight, two hundred thirty yards, no touchdowns and interception took some sacks.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he's a running quarterback.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_02]: So we obviously had rushing yards, but you know, ended up with one total of yard because obviously in college football, sacks count against your rushing total.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_02]: And just he looked erratic.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_02]: He just he did not look.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_02]: He didn't look very poised on the other side of the ball.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_02]: Another name that we got.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_02]: I remember here.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_02]: Garrett Nussmire.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_02]: This is a guy.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_02]: Still being know.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he's he's in that first round quarterback conversation.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_02]: He went twenty eight of thirty eight two hundred thirty yards and it touched down no interceptions.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_02]: I thought Garrett Nussmire looked.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_02]: more polished than obviously K club Nick and and of all the quarterbacks except for maybe Drew Aller so far, but again hard to evaluate against Nevada, but you know can't take anything away from Aller still look good.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_02]: Gertnuss Meyer looked.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_02]: He looked okay.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_02]: Look, look polished.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_02]: Look clean, looked efficient running running the offense and all that kind of stuff.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_02]: Again, it get a couple like nice throws that were like, oh, those are, you know, that's a good might be a good NFL throw right there, but overall
- 29:00[SPEAKER_02]: not a whole lot of like super impressive performances from these quarterbacks in week one.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_02]: And again, I know I keep saying it, but that's just kind of to be expected.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_02]: Offences always start slower in college football to begin the season.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_02]: I will just mention, this is a name, I don't know how much we'll talk about him this year because I believe he's a sophomore.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think he's draft eligible next year.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_02]: So this would be more for the twenty twenty seven draft.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_02]: But Dante Moore, the quarterback for Oregon, is interesting to me.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like, I don't know, I don't want to go too far into it because again, I'm really just kind of starting to dive into some of these quarterbacks.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_02]: But just keep that name in the back of your head Dante Moore from Oregon as a future, as a future prospect.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see Miami beat Notre Dame the other night, twenty seven, twenty four Carson Beck, the quarterback for Georgia last year, transferred to Miami.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_02]: He's the quarterback this year.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's a guy.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_02]: I've just, I've never been very impressed or interested in Carson back.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_02]: I'm seeing people online talk about him.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_02]: Ken Carmen has him as one of his top four quarterbacks for the Browns to be looking for in the draft next year.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_02]: He went twenty of thirty one two oh five and two touchdowns.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, well, we'll keep an eye on Carson back this year and see how he progresses and all that kind of stuff.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to write anybody off completely just because of my priors, but my priors are just not good on Carson back.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_02]: All this stuff I'm talking about.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_02]: I hope you guys are dropping things in the comments and let me know how you feel because this is all super opinionated things.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_02]: If you guys felt that some of these corebacks had much better performances or much worse performances than what I'm alluding to here.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_02]: Let me know.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_02]: I love talking about this kind of stuff and I love here in different perspectives because I am by no means an expert on looking at these college football players right now.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_02]: And then the last name to talk about obviously Lenora Sellers from South Carolina, twelve of nineteen, two hundred, nine yards of touchdown, no picks, thirteen carries, twenty-five yards, and a touchdown on the ground.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_02]: Again, I think he had more rushing yards than this, but it's sacks, obviously take away rushing yards from these quarterbacks.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_02]: Lenora Sellers.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_02]: I'll tell you what.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_02]: I'm excited to watch a lot of these guys play college football this year because I think that there's some, there's some quarterback talent to talk about and to see developing.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_02]: There's going to be names at the end of this season that we're going to be discussing as first round possible guys that we're not talking about right now.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_02]: Guys come out of the woodwork every year that we're like, didn't know that dude.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_02]: Can't word.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_02]: Didn't know that dude.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_02]: Number one overall pick.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_02]: Joe Burrow the year that he did his LSU thing didn't know that dude.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we did because of Ohio State fans, but the vast majority of country didn't know him.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_02]: Came out, boom, number one overall pick.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_02]: This half, this stuff happens.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_02]: And going back now to Lenore Sellers though, obviously he's been talked about heading into this year, but
- 32:05[SPEAKER_02]: I, I was impressed with his size.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_02]: He's a big quarterback.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_02]: He is, let me pull it up here and get six, three, two, forty.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_02]: He's, he's, he's, he's, he's built.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_02]: You know, he's, he's, he's stuck.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_02]: He's a, he's a good sized quarterback and he can move this dude of runs.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_02]: these these strong powerful big arm I just want to see if he's able to because obviously you get all the well there's trade lands well there's Anthony Richardson there's these big strong quarterbacks with these big arms these athletic guys that can run and they suck well let's uh
- 32:52[SPEAKER_02]: Let's give the Norse sellers a chance.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to just talk them up to an Anthony Richardson because I don't think that's the case.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously sellers is probably already started more games in college football than Richardson ever did.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_02]: Definitely trade lands.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_02]: And if he's able to progress as a passer, he's a very interesting
- 33:09[SPEAKER_02]: candidate to be potentially the number one overall pick.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, this guy with his athletic ability, if he shows, you know, promise as far as the passing stuff goes, if he's able to have a decent completion percentage and go through progressions and and read defenses, he looks on the field like he knows what's going on.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_02]: Like you see him directing guys, um, and all of a sudden a little more fresh with this one, because I just finished watching some of his, his game the other the other day.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_02]: So,
- 33:37[SPEAKER_02]: I liked what I saw from the Lenore sellers.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_02]: Honestly, he was probably the most fun out of all the quarterbacks that I watched some of this week.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_02]: And he was probably the most fun that I watched.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_02]: And that would just be interesting to see how this goes moving forward.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, things are going to change.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_02]: Things are going to develop and happen throughout the college football season.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_02]: So it's going to be it's going to be fun having these conversations as the season unfold.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_02]: So let me know what you guys think about the kickoff to college football.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_02]: These quarterback prospects in particular for the Browns because let's face it.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_02]: If Joe Flacco comes out and we win
- 34:19[SPEAKER_02]: I'll just say you use Blake's number if we use if he wins three out of the first six games and we're three and three and then you know at some point we end up you know stealing a couple games here and there that we shouldn't or you know could have lost or whatever and you know the records like seven and five or something
- 34:39[SPEAKER_02]: Like the Browns are not going to be moving quarterbacks if the team has a winning record.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_02]: Like Joe Flack will continue to be the guy as long as the Browns are winning more games than they lose.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, the reality of this entire situation with these quarterbacks.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_02]: And I know it was fun depending on how you looked at things over the summer to have all the debates between Gabriel and Shador and all the arguments and things like that.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_02]: And we got into it with people and it was fun.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I mean, overall, just debating football, talking football is fun.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_02]: but the reality of the situation with these three different quarter beller these two rookie quarterbacks on the team behind Joe Flack on all that stuff.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_02]: There's not going to be enough time most likely this season to evaluate both of the rookies properly.
- 35:26[SPEAKER_02]: Now obviously the Browns are very confident in Dylan Gabriel and what he can do.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_02]: They really like him.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_02]: Otherwise they wouldn't have traded Kenny Pickett away and made Gabriel in the QB too.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_02]: An injury away from being the guy.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_02]: So they have to feel confident.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_02]: And whether or not that's a good idea.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they did the same thing with DTR.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_02]: That was not a good idea.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_02]: So just because they do it doesn't mean it's a good idea.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_02]: It just means they feel comfortable and confident in Dylan Gabriel.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_02]: Shidorah Sanders is probably going to get very little evaluation this season.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_02]: Again, if the Brown start out ON six and Joe Flacco is benched by week six, well now that whole outlook changes and maybe there's a very strong possibility on all that both these rookie quarterbacks get evaluated this year.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_02]: Going into week one, it's just we have to be have realistic expectations and not let our emotions and beliefs get the better of ourselves heading into this thing because the Brown's
- 36:31[SPEAKER_02]: Again, the most likely outcome at this point in time, and obviously this can change with new information, but right now, the Browns most likely will be using a first round pick on a quarterback next year, especially if they don't get any chance.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_02]: You got two first round picks next year, year on the clock.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_02]: There's a quarterback or two there that you really like through the evaluation and scouting process.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_02]: Are you really not going to pull the trigger on that quarterback just because
- 37:00[SPEAKER_02]: You still think you want to evaluate Shador Sanders, who you took in the fifth round the year before.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_02]: I know that a lot of us believe Shador could be that guy, but from a football business side of things, I just don't see that.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_02]: I don't see them making that choice.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see how things go.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_02]: Let me know in the comments what you guys think leading up to this game for the Bengals.
