- 0:00I'm Brandon. And I'm Jesse we're.
- 0:02Cannabis school having cannabis infused conversations.
- 0:05With everyday people. Cannabis companies.
- 0:08Celebrities. And your mom?
- 0:10Welcome. To the sash.
- 0:12I think that last racing night thing we did was one of the
- 0:16every night we do racing is just so much fun.
- 0:19Well, and, and we change it up right.
- 0:21And I was like, I'm going to do different tracks this time where
- 0:24we have to learn it, you know? And it's usually like by the
- 0:28third lap where you start feeling comfortable, you start
- 0:32by. The 7th lap depending on the
- 0:33track. Oh my gosh.
- 0:35What was that one? There was one.
- 0:36I swear it was like 7 or 8. By the time we were figuring it
- 0:39out. I was like felt like it was new
- 0:43or. It was, well, it was just like a
- 0:44a different direction. When we did a reverse maybe?
- 0:46Yeah, I think it's a reverse race.
- 0:48And that's the thing that I I was just like, you know, it's
- 0:50not even about like the, the tires or anything like that.
- 0:54Like sometimes all about like, like the dirt race.
- 0:57Dude, I was getting so frustrated.
- 1:00I'm like, what is going on? And then you said something, you
- 1:03go, hey, what gear are you in? And I was like going all the way
- 1:07from 5th, 6th down. And and I was like, like 4 right
- 1:12now you're like, yeah, I'm usually riding 3.
- 1:14And I'm like, yeah, just romping that thing.
- 1:16And that's what I learned. It's pulsing.
- 1:18But what I like about it is that my stand shakes way more.
- 1:25Oh yeah. Like I could feel it in my feet.
- 1:27Like it's. Crazy on the route of the dirt
- 1:30ones. And I barely won that one.
- 1:33I didn't know how I got that, but I barely like in this one
- 1:37last second, it was like 0.04 seconds different.
- 1:43Like like your bumper was halfway through my car, right?
- 1:47I'm just like, dude. But it's skinny me nutters.
- 1:49But it's. Fun, dude.
- 1:51It's always just, oh, hold on, I want to spill that.
- 1:53Are you good? Yeah, those dirt ones.
- 1:55I just really got in the zone on that.
- 1:58I loved the dirt racing. I don't know.
- 2:01Oh, I love dirt racing and the snow one is all right.
- 2:05I just kind of feel like I'm sliding the whole time, so I
- 2:08just got to keep the slide going.
- 2:10But the dirt 1 is different because it goes soft and then it
- 2:13goes flat and then it goes hard and then you're just like,
- 2:17there's just so many different things that you can do and and
- 2:21it doesn't always work the way you want it to every single
- 2:23time. So you get used to it and then
- 2:26you start I start pulling my 4. Wheelers ever much growing up.
- 2:31Yeah, I did 4 Wheelers with like friends and stuff like that.
- 2:33Like I enjoyed that. Like the last time I went 4
- 2:36Wheeling was before Max was born.
- 2:39Oh wow. Yeah, almost 20 years ago.
- 2:41And we went with her family and we were down at Duck Creek in
- 2:46like Cedar City area and they have these really beautiful
- 2:50trails that you can go on this place that we were staying.
- 2:54And her dad had rented all these 4 Wheelers and they're really
- 2:57decent 4 Wheelers. He got the best ones, you know,
- 3:00like. Oh yeah, don't.
- 3:01Fucking care. But we went around and Steph's
- 3:03like, Oh well, if you don't do it much, I'm like, no, I've done
- 3:06it a few times. I'm good to go.
- 3:08And I knew what I was doing on him and there was a rock.
- 3:12I saw it and I'm like, I could jump that and I got to it, but I
- 3:16slowed down because I noticed it was just a little bit more
- 3:18sharper than I thought and I popped up.
- 3:22But I'm at the time I'm like 190 lbs so I hit it.
- 3:27Penny, shut up. Very good.
- 3:30So I, I noticed that it was just a little sharp, so I slowed down
- 3:34and it almost bucked me off. And I'm like, oh, it's a good
- 3:37thing I slowed down. And I pull over and something
- 3:41inside me goes turn around. I turn around and I see her
- 3:44little brother Ben, who's 15 at the time, and he fucking floors
- 3:50it. He hits that fucking thing and
- 3:53he weighs like a buck. Nothing.
- 3:55Oh yeah. Fucking goes up like this.
- 3:58Back tires are way high because he has no weight to put down on
- 4:01it and it was almost like I could see his eyes pressing
- 4:04against the fucking glass of the helmet like a cartoon character
- 4:08and he was so fucking lucky he hit the ground.
- 4:12It fucked up his back for life. But the four Wheeler barely went
- 4:17over him. Like it didn't touch him and it
- 4:19bent the IT bent the bars. Yeah, oh man, lucky son of a
- 4:24bitch. But yeah, the thing.
- 4:27Is fun, but like. It's scary, too.
- 4:30Yeah, we like started riding. Riding out on Banshees?
- 4:33You ever riding on those little fucking?
- 4:34Things. Yep, that was enough for me.
- 4:37Scared the shit out of me. That was also the only four
- 4:40Wheeler I ever drove that had a clutch.
- 4:42Like they all normally have the shifter but they don't have a
- 4:46clutch. And that one had a clutch and I
- 4:47was like OK, which is crazy. But thankfully by that point I
- 4:51had probably been riding 4 Wheelers for at least 10 years
- 4:54and I knew don't floor it like until you know what the hell
- 5:00this thing can do. I never floored it.
- 5:03We were just in the mountains by PG and even that like there were
- 5:07some little hops in that and I was getting tons of air, like
- 5:11just giving it a little going and I was Wheeling without
- 5:14trying. Like it was such a crazy like.
- 5:19Four Wheeler, it even the design of it, like you get your typical
- 5:23four Wheeler, they feel kind of like they're like a little fat
- 5:26kid, you know what I mean? It just it feels safe.
- 5:29Well, they're the heavy utility ones.
- 5:31It's way different than these. Super light.
- 5:33Yeah, the wheels are light. The frame looks like it's like a
- 5:37transformer or some shit like that.
- 5:39Yeah, yeah, yeah. And you get going on that.
- 5:42Did you ever play ATV off road Fury?
- 5:44Oh yeah, dude, that game was cool.
- 5:46We. Loved that game, my family used
- 5:48to play that, like me and my brothers, we would play that all
- 5:51and they had great soundtracks back then.
- 5:54It was like actually good music. Good music like Remember
- 5:57Burnout? Yes.
- 5:58Burnout was like that. Burnout was cool.
- 6:01He had like Mastodon and you had all these like heavy metal
- 6:04groups in there and I was like, this is cool game and it but now
- 6:07you play it's kind of boring. They're like.
- 6:10Yeah, yeah, I, we were riding 4 Wheelers all the time as we were
- 6:15doing like ATV off Road Fury. So I got excited and I would try
- 6:19and jump them and stuff. But the big utility ones, they
- 6:21don't jump the same as a as a Little Sports 1.
- 6:25They're harder to jump because they're hell heavy.
- 6:27And if you do jump it's mostly going to roll.
- 6:30But the other ones though, they, they, you can jump them, but go
- 6:33way too far and you got to really understand the control of
- 6:36it. Like it's, I don't know, dude.
- 6:38Like it. It's the equivalent of and and I
- 6:41I watched these movies with my family and we watched the Avatar
- 6:44movies. OK.
- 6:45The blue people wins. Yeah, the blue people.
- 6:47And it was better the second time.
- 6:50It was better the second time. It was more meaningful.
- 6:53I, you know, it was really cool. The AI the I mean, not the AI,
- 6:56the, the CGI, OK, much better than you know why?
- 7:00Because it was fantasy and I wasn't focused on the fucking
- 7:03glitz and glam. I was focused on what was going
- 7:05on. The dialogue is well written.
- 7:08The interactions are cool. You care about the characters.
- 7:12Well, it's like Fern Gully, you know?
- 7:13Yeah, but it. But it but it's, it was a
- 7:16little, yeah. Because I had that idea of Fern
- 7:18Gully before. I think that's why I hated it.
- 7:21Did you not like Fern Gulley as a kid?
- 7:23I didn't watch Fern Gulley as a kid.
- 7:24I was like a teenager. I remember seeing and so it's
- 7:28nostalgic. I don't know the last time I've
- 7:30seen. Oh, I don't even remember.
- 7:32It But I just remember them like the rainforests or whatever
- 7:36getting torn down and like all the little.
- 7:38That's all I remember about it. I couldn't tell you anything
- 7:41else past that. Like this one made sense though,
- 7:44because like, you know, the rainforest type narrative is
- 7:47just like they're just logging, right?
- 7:50But in this one, there is a type of metal that is below that they
- 7:56can mine on this planet. It's the only reason why we're
- 7:59there. Takes years to get there.
- 8:01But this planet, this material is so energy efficient.
- 8:07The Earth, which is not very habitable anymore at this time.
- 8:11They have been trying to figure out a way to get more of this
- 8:15stuff and the most of it is underneath this gigantic tree.
- 8:20Oh yeah, I remember the tree. Right.
- 8:21And that the only reason why they're not there to cut down
- 8:24the forest. They just want the mining
- 8:26material. They just want all of these
- 8:28natives to just fuck off. Like perfect World, even they've
- 8:31said it in the movie. They're like, yeah, if they
- 8:32could just fuck off, we'd be happy about it.
- 8:35But they won't leave this tree because they're connected to the
- 8:38planet. And like one of the things is
- 8:40like these animals, like they can ride.
- 8:43You have to connect to them right through your braid.
- 8:47And that was a cool concept. And that's what I imagine.
- 8:49Like on those flying things, it's like fucking banshees.
- 8:53Like because from. Halos.
- 8:54Yeah, no, no, no. I mean like there was a banshee,
- 8:57you know, quad. Oh, the four Wheeler.
- 8:59Four Wheeler, right? And those things just go so
- 9:01fast. But the guys that I saw doing
- 9:04that, like at the dunes, they had those paddle wheels, which
- 9:07is so cool. That's even more intense.
- 9:10I tried that. That's what I was like.
- 9:11I don't want to go too fast on this because I, I don't know
- 9:14this very well, but guys who grew up doing it, they were
- 9:17like. Yeah, we would.
- 9:19We would do that on my parents, 4 Wheelers just out on all these
- 9:23dirt roads because we would go all the time.
- 9:27And you get so comfortable that you're on these corners, on
- 9:30these roads, you're going 4050 miles an hour sliding through
- 9:34the corner. Yeah, but because you've you've
- 9:36been, you have a connection now. And it's, I mean, that was like
- 9:39when I was riding my motorcycle and the day that it clicked and
- 9:44it felt like the machine and I were the same was the day that I
- 9:48named it and the day it got its name Shelby was like from then
- 9:52on, it didn't feel like a machine.
- 9:54It felt like a part of me. And there was this thing, very
- 9:59first time I went on a group ride with a big, large group of
- 10:02riders. This guy, old guy who'd been
- 10:04riding for ages, was like, all right, this is your first, like
- 10:07real bike you've had in a long time.
- 10:09Ride it until it no longer scares you.
- 10:11And I realized how incredibly smart that is, because as soon
- 10:15as you stop having fear of the bike, you start doing things
- 10:18that you would never do. You drive like you would never
- 10:21drive because there's No Fear. Yeah, almost video game ish.
- 10:25It was when I'm riding the Alpine loop and truly I'm using
- 10:30these two fingers on the throttle, my hands on there, but
- 10:32like it's these two fingers. I have a weight that my holds
- 10:36the throttle that your wrist does.
- 10:38So I'm two fingering through the Alpine loop.
- 10:40My brakes are there. That's all I need and I'll put
- 10:45my hand up to pop my gear when I need it.
- 10:47Pass that I'm two fingers through all the canyons because
- 10:51it feels like it's just me. But you're flying.
- 10:53Yeah, and it's like nothing else in those moments, those corners,
- 10:57everything else, everything disappears.
- 11:00Nothing exists except for that next little bit.
- 11:03You're so focused on every little bit.
- 11:05Is there a rock? Is there this?
- 11:07What's the next second of the corner bring like?
- 11:09And you're right, I like riding till my boots hit.
- 11:12So I'm like right there, right as far deep as I can lean until
- 11:16I'm scraping going. All right.
- 11:19And and that's when time disappears.
- 11:21It's like nothing else exists. But you find that in those like
- 11:25sliding the corners on 4 Wheelers and stuff.
- 11:27And that's what the racing just felt like that night.
- 11:31Oh. Dude, especially that big turn
- 11:34like you would just you'd be like in 5th gear and just
- 11:37sliding through and that was the coolest like, you know, when I
- 11:41got into that flow, what were we doing?
- 11:43Was it F ones? I was like a minute ahead.
- 11:45Oh. My God.
- 11:46Yeah, you. Was it F?
- 11:48Was it F1 or was it something different?
- 11:50I think it was F1. No, it wasn't.
- 11:52It wasn't. The F1 it was.
- 11:54Porsches, the 800 PPI was Oh no, it was.
- 11:58Porsche wasn't. It yeah, it was the Porsche.
- 12:00I got into a flow somehow. You just destroyed me.
- 12:04Like I had it where you would, you know that turn, it's towards
- 12:08the end of this race, you go down that big hill, then you
- 12:12have to go to 2nd gear to get around.
- 12:14Race was it that we did on that one?
- 12:16I don't remember the place at the moment, like I love Dragon
- 12:20Tale. Dragon Tale's one of my
- 12:22favorites. Yeah, that one was unique.
- 12:24We didn't do that one very often.
- 12:25No, we need to challenge ourselves in some of the other
- 12:27ones. But it's that, it's that feeling
- 12:29you're talking about. Like when you're in a flow
- 12:31state, everything feels like it's paused and you're flying
- 12:36through all of it. Yeah, and I do.
- 12:39It gives me those little dopamine hits when we race
- 12:41sometimes some nights, some races I'm on it.
- 12:44Other races I am totally just fucking it up.
- 12:47I'm like, what's going on? But it it's that those small
- 12:52feelings of that. But it's cool because you can
- 12:54actually have that in other places of your life.
- 12:57One of the things is just trying to like the ups and downs of, of
- 13:02even having a job, which I know you're.
- 13:06Yeah, I know. I'm still in the hunt.
- 13:08Me too. I I mean I was like all the time
- 13:11and what I've learned in on that is that like the most most
- 13:15effective way that that's going to be is when I'm in my state of
- 13:17flow. And so when I started thinking
- 13:20I'm like, well, what what was helping me find this great job
- 13:24and and that is like allowing other people to help me on that.
- 13:29And so I was thinking about that with you, man, you should put
- 13:33that out on LinkedIn, put all the things that you, you know,
- 13:36just I'll go back to the post that got me this job, because
- 13:39normally people would put in there going, you know, been
- 13:43applying for jobs, It's not going very well.
- 13:46Like that's. Oh yeah.
- 13:49It's a negative boat nobody wants to hitch to, right?
- 13:52It's it's just like, fuck, like I saw this sad one.
- 13:55This guy, he's got a masters, he's got an MBA as well, and he
- 14:02can't even get a job at Costco. He just wants to stock shelves.
- 14:06He's like any job. How would he not get hired at
- 14:08Costco? Or just they didn't hire him?
- 14:11So independent studies have gone through about why companies are
- 14:15not hiring educated people. And the reason why is because
- 14:20there is an entitlement that came with it.
- 14:22I went to school for this much time, hence this is what I am
- 14:26worth. But now it's not based off of
- 14:29that. It's based off of how well can
- 14:32you get along with our culture and can you take care of our
- 14:35customers that go above and beyond because it's the only
- 14:39differentiator you really can do now.
- 14:42Like because the word of mouth is far stronger than any
- 14:45advertising. Can I, I don't even it, it's
- 14:47the, the shift I've had in the, my marketing mindset is that
- 14:50it's not even about your message anymore.
- 14:53It's all about how they feel about you and how others feel
- 14:58about you. And it's not anything you can
- 15:00encapsulate into a saying no, it's the relationship.
- 15:04They have with you or your brand.
- 15:06Right. I mean, it's like we make fun of
- 15:08Tesla cars all the time. I don't like them.
- 15:10I've just. I I get.
- 15:12I like the concept. I love the novelty.
- 15:14Of it brilliant. I would love in certain moments
- 15:17to be able to hop in a car and go take me here.
- 15:20I don't want to drive and it does that.
- 15:23I think that concept is fucking insane.
- 15:26It sounds fantastic, but I don't trust the company, the
- 15:30infrastructure, I don't like the car.
- 15:32Well, I was like, I saw this video, Bennett.
- 15:35I don't visit. I don't visit social media as
- 15:40much anymore, not even the videos, unless it's funny.
- 15:43Like you'll, you'll get them every once in a while, like just
- 15:46Randall. I mean, I never said anything
- 15:47serious. Like if it's serious, it's like,
- 15:50how did they come over here and carve out all of these temples
- 15:55directly out of a mountainside? Like when I hear that stuff, I'm
- 15:58like, that's fucking crazy. That's crazy.
- 16:00Like we can't do shit today like that.
- 16:04How do they fucking do that? And how do they do this?
- 16:06Where do where's all the material of that?
- 16:08I get sucked into those things right, but I don't get sucked
- 16:11into the culture anymore because there is no culture.
- 16:14There is this flaccid. It's just negative.
- 16:17Everything's attached to a negative approach, right and I
- 16:20just see that a lot of people who start going with that
- 16:23negative approach online, especially like on LinkedIn,
- 16:27they still do it there. So what I posted was hey, been
- 16:31out of tried my hand at my own business, market shifted, didn't
- 16:35work out. Doesn't matter.
- 16:37I'm, you know, have above average EQ, tons of experience
- 16:43in their understanding how to be a rock star, hitting the ground
- 16:47running and being willing to put my ego aside for the greater
- 16:52good of the company. If you know anybody, let me
- 16:55know. That was it.
- 16:56And then I got hit up. Hey, you ever thought about
- 16:59doing this? No, cool, here you go.
- 17:03Because they're always looking. This company's always looking
- 17:06for people oriented people, which is such a rarity.
- 17:11I've seen a lot of people leave this company that I went through
- 17:13the Academy and they were very capable.
- 17:17Like they know this industry. I didn't know shit about this
- 17:20industry. Why'd they leave?
- 17:22It's this entitlement I've noticed with the younger people
- 17:26who've gone to college and shit like that.
- 17:28Like, I went to college and I enjoyed my time there, but I
- 17:31would be like, well, when I was going through my class, fucking
- 17:35no. Yeah.
- 17:36Because really, all that is is like, I learned to learn how
- 17:40this teacher wanted me to learn. Yeah.
- 17:42Whatever they needed me to do to get a letter, Gary, to get a
- 17:45piece of paper, that really doesn't mean what it used to me.
- 17:49And it's not to discredit like every education or the classroom
- 17:54settings and that, but it's just there has been so many times
- 17:58that even in life I've gathered from certain people of like, OK,
- 18:02they learned this in college. That's been disproven a million
- 18:06times here and just kind of showing it and going, all right,
- 18:09well, I understand you learned that in college, but is it
- 18:14possible that some of what you learned isn't correct?
- 18:18Well, I mean, in that, I mean in both sides.
- 18:20It's really hard for him because it's easy to have static
- 18:23education where it's just memorize, regurgitate and
- 18:27memorize, regurgitate, right. So when we take the the
- 18:31education system, we're starting to see a shift in it too, man.
- 18:35Like just yesterday, I believe it's in, it might be in Michigan
- 18:38or somewhere else in those states, but they just laid off
- 18:42400 teachers and the community was really pissed off.
- 18:46And they're like, oh, oh. But then, hearing about what's
- 18:49coming in place, AIAI infused classes with teachers who
- 18:54understand how to utilize it to develop real education for the
- 18:59time that they're living in right now.
- 19:00Yeah. I'm just looking at classroom
- 19:02size though and if you're getting rid of 400 that's a lot
- 19:06of people in one classroom, even if it is AI with a teacher
- 19:10assistant. Yeah, no, no, because of what
- 19:13they're looking at is that a lot of these people who had these
- 19:17positions. Are redundant or what?
- 19:19Are irrelevant because these teachers all teach.
- 19:23Exactly. I'm curious what's what is
- 19:27irrelevant in their system that they can cut out 400 teachers
- 19:31and go AI is going to replace 400 teachers?
- 19:35Because all that tells me is either there's classrooms run
- 19:38strictly by AI or classroom sizes go.
- 19:42The classroom sizes will go up, but. 400 teachers in one areas,
- 19:48still a good number. So I would look at that and go,
- 19:50how many students does that put into a classroom?
- 19:53And yeah, that's great there. How many students does that put
- 19:55into our classrooms for our kids too?
- 19:57Like is that a really long term strategic smart solution or is
- 20:03it just a solution we're being presented with at the moment?
- 20:06No, I, I think what it is, it's, it's an actual, it's represented
- 20:10by the amount of people who are educated and unemployed.
- 20:16So they're looking at it where they're teaching them is that.
- 20:19College level or is that under? College, all of it because it's
- 20:22preparatory, right? All of your.
- 20:25Your SO it's pre college. Yeah, it's pre college stuff,
- 20:28like all the high school students and stuff like that.
- 20:30But what they're finding is that people are graduating, but
- 20:33they're graduating by the skin of their teeth on memorization,
- 20:37regurgitation, and then. That's how school is.
- 20:39Right. But that's that's the concept
- 20:42that I'm thinking that is going there.
- 20:43I don't know, this is a more of a hypothesis of what I'm seeing
- 20:47from the outside. Just trying to look at like, why
- 20:49would you make that choice? It's it's like.
- 20:52Well, because already we've noticed our school systems
- 20:55pretty much kill creativity. 100%.
- 20:58Can learn how they want you to think and learn and not be
- 21:01creative or think outside of the box to come up with your own
- 21:03solutions. They're not real teachers.
- 21:06No. So it's, if you look at that
- 21:08idea of it, it seems weird to bring in AI further because
- 21:11we've noticed that it hasn't helped certain generations with
- 21:14creativity. No, but that's the thing that
- 21:17they're looking at too. If you look at why people are
- 21:19being hired, people your age, my age, are more sought after in
- 21:25big business right now because of a big reason.
- 21:29We can adapt. We grew up during a time to
- 21:33learn to adapt. If you didn't know, you had to
- 21:35figure it out. Now we have these tools that
- 21:39were built for us because if we had those tools back then, how
- 21:43much further will we be now? Yeah, yeah.
- 21:47We would be at least 50-60 years ahead of time as far as like
- 21:52actual progression of technology.
- 21:54So when it did the, the thing that I believe that they're
- 21:57trying to do is get these teachers to back to teaching
- 22:01based upon that one, like mathematics.
- 22:04Kids doing mathematics today is different from when I did it.
- 22:07What do you think is different now?
- 22:09They've tried to simplify it because they look at other
- 22:11countries such as China that uses an Abacus and they can do
- 22:17complex math if math isn't like. Because we've we've simplified
- 22:22it going, hey, we need a calculator.
- 22:24But yeah, so many of these equations have been done for
- 22:27ages and ages without any calculator.
- 22:30So it's just going, hey, we've dumbed ourselves down in this
- 22:34way to go. More.
- 22:35Comfort, Yeah, comfort and that to go, hey, we don't need to
- 22:38learn how to do this on the base level.
- 22:40We just need a technology that can do us and how to integrate
- 22:43with that technology, which is AI.
- 22:45And what we're doing now is can you integrate with technology?
- 22:49Right. And that's The thing is that
- 22:50you, you have to be a free creative thinker now.
- 22:54And that that's one of the things like that woman.
- 22:56I talked to some of the biggest companies and their massive
- 23:00layoffs. They are laying, bringing off
- 23:01people that they cannot utilize. The problem is, is that these
- 23:05people, they can't utilize based upon their performance because
- 23:09Amazon tracks everything you do. It's very Orwellian.
- 23:15Like you can't even take a piss for a certain period of time
- 23:18without them tracking you. Well, at Tesla, they track every
- 23:2115 minutes. What?
- 23:23Is. Every 15 minutes you did.
- 23:24Hey, what were you doing these 15 minutes?
- 23:26What were you doing these? And that's how they track is
- 23:28every 15 minutes of your work day.
- 23:31And I'm like, that is like hyper, like micromanaging of
- 23:34just in your asshole going, hey, I need to know what color your
- 23:39poop was. But that's the thing, like what
- 23:41do those companies provide as far as value?
- 23:43Nothing. Amazon doesn't provide really
- 23:46value other than Instantacious. Third party reseller to make
- 23:50convenience dude. Even gifts and stuff like that
- 23:53were more meaningful when that you didn't have instant.
- 23:56Because it you had, you had to think about it in advance to go,
- 24:00hey, this person. I'm going to send them something
- 24:03for. I have to actually know them.
- 24:05I need something for them. Not I'll get them an Amazon gift
- 24:08card and they'll just pick something for themselves.
- 24:11Oh, look. Look how well I look, how much
- 24:13thought I put into that. I put so much thought into this
- 24:15Amazon gift card. What does that say about us as
- 24:18people, man? We we're lazy.
- 24:19We're disconnected. Yeah, because we're all about
- 24:22this. Can we?
- 24:23We've grown up in a convenience world.
- 24:25Well. Dude, like you get together with
- 24:27a group of friends, what do we all do?
- 24:29I like the the idea of. Yeah, at the your part at that
- 24:32party, the. Birthday party map.
- 24:34Yeah, putting it down, going, hey, this is your phone sitter
- 24:36and it's a cardboard thing with just squares and your name next
- 24:39to it or whatever, or like a bowl.
- 24:42And everyone's phones are just sitting there going, all right,
- 24:44You don't need to be attached to this.
- 24:46We can disconnect and and connect to the human here.
- 24:50Yeah, dude, it's so it. It's such a, I've been, well,
- 24:54since I'm, I'm getting involved in this on the side.
- 24:58I mean, it's seriously the most fulfilling thing is, is being
- 25:01able to help these people connect.
- 25:03It's not that I have a special power.
- 25:04It's just I, I've learned a couple different things on how
- 25:07to be able to spot anthropology in a behavior way, because I see
- 25:12it as 12 different types of people, 12 different cultures.
- 25:16And so I just know the idiosyncrasies of their
- 25:19cultures, right? Such as like, you know, not
- 25:21Americans per SE, but when you go to other countries, they do
- 25:25certain things, certain customs and you go, Oh yeah, my custom
- 25:30doesn't vibe with that custom. And it goes the same way where
- 25:34you can find another one. They're going, oh, we blend
- 25:36really well. We blend really, really well,
- 25:39right? It's like you start to see where
- 25:42even I, I think Americans and and Europeans in a way, are
- 25:47really having a difficult time openly connecting with one
- 25:50another that they start calling these guys who start leaving
- 25:54places to go to the Southeast Asia as passport Bros and the
- 25:59yeah, passport Bros. What they do is guys will have
- 26:04like a really good job here in the States.
- 26:06Do it remote, moved to Thailand or any Southeast Asian country
- 26:12and they find a wife and they're happy.
- 26:14They're really happy. And it's kind of annoying to the
- 26:18cultures around there. But where it's really pissing
- 26:21people off is right here in the States because women are like,
- 26:25well, fuck you, I'm right here and you're going all the way
- 26:29over there. Why?
- 26:30And the reason why is because these preconceived notions of
- 26:33what we think connection is if we really broke it down to
- 26:36anybody going on a date these days going, what did you guys
- 26:39do? Well, we showed up at a
- 26:41restaurant. We looked at our phones for a
- 26:42while, food came out, we talked for a little while.
- 26:45I text 2 times. He had to make a call.
- 26:49And then we left there and we looked at our phones while we
- 26:51walked to the car. And then I think we went to a
- 26:55movie where I only looked at my phone a few times.
- 26:59And then when we left, I text him, Hey, I'm really tired.
- 27:03I'm going to go home. But I was sitting next to him
- 27:05instead of just going, hey, let's just go somewhere.
- 27:09Let's start here and then let's see where the night takes us and
- 27:13Uber it. That would be more like a
- 27:16Stagecoach fucking feel because now you're not wrapped up.
- 27:20And I got to do this, this, this and and making a decision at the
- 27:241st going, Hey, I'm going to go On this date with you.
- 27:27I'm going to put it on Do not disturb because I want to give
- 27:30you all the attention tonight. Is that OK?
- 27:33Or even just not even bringing it out.
- 27:36I think the difference is people make it such a big deal, they
- 27:39pull it out. It's on the table, it's
- 27:41wherever. It's in their hand.
- 27:42If you never pulled it out on the date, they would have seen,
- 27:45oh hey, he respects me. He's never pulled it out once.
- 27:48Even if she has it out, you haven't gone for your phone.
- 27:51Yeah, but it's so funny because you'll you'll see people doing
- 27:53it and just like I'll, I'll challenge them at the event.
- 27:55And I'm like, hey, while you guys are talking, don't pull
- 27:58this out, just leave it in your pocket.
- 28:01But habitually they do. So for those types of in the
- 28:05business world, one of the things that drives me nuts is
- 28:08people leaving their phone on the table and then it rings or
- 28:11fucking on their watch. That drives me insane because
- 28:14they'll look at it and I'm like, I am talking to you about
- 28:18something that actually is meaningful and you don't give a
- 28:22shit. And it's not that they don't
- 28:23give a shit. It's just they've been taught
- 28:25it's Pavlov's dog. So when I go to a meeting, I
- 28:28take my phone. I said, I'm just going to put
- 28:30this on silence. And I put a face down right in
- 28:33front of me and I don't touch it.
- 28:35And when they see it and I'm making them eye contact with
- 28:38them, they do it once they go and I just, I just smile and
- 28:42they go. Now they do that.
- 28:44So it, it, it's got to be I, I feel just seeing what I've seen
- 28:48that making the commitment of showing that I want to put you
- 28:53first by doing this. An I say that by putting my
- 28:56phone face down helps you to know that this is the type of
- 29:00environment I'm expecting. And I want to be respectful to
- 29:05you. And we all know it's
- 29:07disrespectful. We all know it's disrespectful
- 29:10as far as connection and it's not necessarily manners like,
- 29:14you know, pinky out and which fork are you using, right?
- 29:17But. You know what I mean?
- 29:18Different connection of like, oh, OK, well, and it depends on
- 29:22what you're doing. Sometimes it doesn't matter.
- 29:24Maybe you're just chilling and you're not actually.
- 29:27Yeah, like you're just in the same space and that's fine too.
- 29:30Like whatever. But that's the place where we
- 29:33all want to be. Yeah.
- 29:34We want to feel like it's like, dude, you got to tell me.
- 29:37Like, I mean, back when you were dating to where you are now,
- 29:42when you guys have just a chill night that's just comfortable.
- 29:47It's not performative. That's that's what I do
- 29:49appreciate. I like there's Kaylee and
- 29:53Preston. Yeah, every time we hang out, I
- 29:55love those guys. We're like, you know what I
- 29:57love? It doesn't matter if we have
- 29:59plans, if we don't have plans, if we just sit and talk, if
- 30:02we're doing, it never feels like we have to entertain, like we're
- 30:07needing to have some agenda. It's just enjoying the company
- 30:12and it always ends up being a pleasant experience.
- 30:14It's not there's nothing that's like, hey, we need to accomplish
- 30:17this. We go on hike sometimes or do
- 30:19things that it's like, but it's not, hey, we have to get here.
- 30:23Otherwise we're sad or disappointed.
- 30:25We're just enjoying the journey because the the whole experience
- 30:29is the journey, kind of like life.
- 30:30Like it's not that end goal of hey, I've reached down here.
- 30:33It's every day is that journey. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.
- 30:37Today is your journey. What steps and things are we
- 30:40doing today? Because tomorrow might not even
- 30:42happen. Yeah, that's why like, you know,
- 30:44people bitch about like on a date, if you go somewhere really
- 30:47nice, something, it's going to cost you a little bit of money,
- 30:50like probably about two $300.00 for a date, right.
- 30:53Yeah. But this is the thing, like you
- 30:55think about it as almost a mini trip to another country where
- 30:59you are being waited on hand and foot.
- 31:02They're supposed to have a level of expertise.
- 31:05The food is, is quite exceptional because it's it's
- 31:09not something that you can produce at home yourself at this
- 31:11moment, you haven't learned how to do it.
- 31:15And so instead of seeing it going, fuck how much it's going
- 31:17to cost, it's like, hey, would you like to go on an adventure
- 31:20with me? We're going to go to this place.
- 31:23I've never eaten there before. I'm slightly adventurous or you
- 31:27adventurous kind of. I think they've got everything
- 31:30for everybody. Let's go there and enjoy the
- 31:32experience. Let's not worry about what it's
- 31:34going to cost. Let's just experience anything.
- 31:37And I got no expectations other than a hopefully we leave here
- 31:40satisfied from the food. Like if if a date was approached
- 31:44like that now I put this other person at ease.
- 31:48Hey, I'm not trying to get at you Nikus.
- 31:50I'm just here for the experience.
- 31:51That's another thing that's crazy too dude.
- 31:54With all this stuff I've been like really getting into like
- 31:56what is the dating mentality right now?
- 31:59Sex is on a decline like no other time.
- 32:03Less people are having sex. But we live in an over
- 32:06sexualized online. So what does that say?
- 32:09I'm not comfortable connecting with you in person, but I can
- 32:13pay you $5 to look at your brown eye winking at me.
- 32:16Well, it's, I don't know, it's very we, we live in a very hyper
- 32:20sexualized Western civilization or world over here because like,
- 32:24I don't know, it's Addie was talking to me about it the other
- 32:27day. She's like, oh, I hate being a
- 32:29girl sometimes. It's so annoying she's like guys
- 32:32can just walk around with their shirt off but yet it's like over
- 32:35sexualized if like half of their boobs are showing because it's
- 32:38crazy hot outside and then people just stare at them like
- 32:41oh you're such a whore because your tits are showing.
- 32:43Yeah, but that's like they're inside their own head.
- 32:45And it's like. Because the guys don't want to
- 32:47look at them, because they're terrified, because they're
- 32:49looking like they're going to be a predator online.
- 32:51But it's it's this thing of like, yeah, that's got to suck.
- 32:54I've never thought about, man, how it would feel to be burning
- 32:58up in Utah because I know it sucks here in the summer.
- 33:01And I've taken my shirt off a million times in the summer.
- 33:03How many times would it have been like, oh man, I can't take
- 33:07off my shirt because someone's going to look at me or, or
- 33:10that's not appropriate. Like that would feel really
- 33:12weird. But with the question I would
- 33:14ask is, did anybody say anything?
- 33:17Because a lot of times it's these are our own perceptions
- 33:19that we feel that we can't do this because it's not, not OK.
- 33:24That a kid can't take off their shirt and walk around topless
- 33:27because it's hot outside. Well, I mean, a young girl,
- 33:30yeah, that's different. You know, I mean, it was goes
- 33:32back to this comedian. If women only wore hats, they'd
- 33:36no bras. They didn't even wear shirts.
- 33:38As men, we would probably be more interested in what's
- 33:41underneath that. Yeah, well, it's, and that's
- 33:43what I was saying, Like European is very different than Western
- 33:46civilization. The naked body, there isn't such
- 33:49a sexualized item. When I was all over Europe,
- 33:53every place I would go, there's naked statues, there's naked
- 33:55paintings, There's like it's normalized, it's naturalized.
- 33:58It's not this like over sexualized that we have where
- 34:02it's like, oh, everything is sexual.
- 34:05OK, but if if I'm going to say that I mean it when we right now
- 34:09they're I mean they're doing this across the United States.
- 34:11These are massive studies because we've seen a steady
- 34:14decline in population across the world, right?
- 34:17And a lot of it is this self perception of we are over
- 34:20sexualized. The reason why is that we've got
- 34:24things like only fans that actually congratulates.
- 34:28Yeah, but we've been over sexualizing long before any of
- 34:31that existed. Not as not as prevalent as now,
- 34:34not as openly accepted. As now because over the last 20
- 34:38years at least, women have been way more over sexualized and
- 34:43like even on TV and stuff, it's a lot of shots.
- 34:46What do you? Mean by that?
- 34:47So when you see a shot in a movie and it's all of a sudden
- 34:51like titty shot and it's zooming in on these things and you're
- 34:53like, all right, this wasn't actually relevant to the story.
- 34:56It's just over sexualizing showing this woman to bring in
- 34:59excitement for your story. Yeah, movies back in the day,
- 35:03but not now. But that's still in this whole
- 35:06time period of like this has happened.
- 35:09It's not just only fans that's caused this.
- 35:12Oh, I'm not saying that I'm I'm bringing up something that's
- 35:14making a ton of money. That's what I'm saying.
- 35:16Like Only fans is one of the biggest companies in the world,
- 35:20the most efficient. They actually we.
- 35:23Weren't talking about efficiency of business.
- 35:25No, I'm saying like, but they can get everywhere.
- 35:28And it also allows women to be able to sexualize themselves for
- 35:32profit. So when there's an over
- 35:35sexualization and women say I'm being over sexualized, yet they
- 35:38over sexualize themselves to make a profit.
- 35:41Oh, I'm not meaning with only fans.
- 35:43I'm talking about historically. Oh, I, I mean, I totally, but I
- 35:46would disagree. We've been over sexualized on
- 35:48that one. Anything that was taboo, like
- 35:50pornography or like that dude, like the only place you could
- 35:54get it was a special CD store. Yeah, when I was in the Navy,
- 35:58but now it's. Like when I go through Europe
- 36:01and I see paintings and statues and no, that's normalized.
- 36:04But in the US that is not a thing.
- 36:06If we had it more naturalized and that it might not be.
- 36:09So if we had this naked statues and paintings, we'd have to be
- 36:12everywhere. But that is, we have this, oh,
- 36:16there's a woman in a in a skimpy outfit.
- 36:18Oh, there's a woman in a tight outfit.
- 36:20Oh, I need to look at it. Oh, it's this versus like OK,
- 36:23it's. That's a matter of perception.
- 36:24It's not necessarily like with the greater.
- 36:27From there was a guy from Germany who talked about it and
- 36:30he was like, oh, you Americans are so silly with your like
- 36:34perception on nudity. He's like, you come over to
- 36:36Europe and we have like the penises and the vaginas and the
- 36:39boobies and you guys are over here and it's like, oh, no, I
- 36:42can't see that. Oh, oh, we do see it.
- 36:45And it is it's they have a different perception because
- 36:48they see different things that we do.
- 36:50Well, a lot of it comes from, I mean, it was different eras at
- 36:54what time they were at, because not all of Europe was like that
- 36:57at those times. They were more conservative
- 37:00during like the 1700s when the Americas were being populated by
- 37:04Europeans. Yeah.
- 37:05But their art, yeah, even in that time, is a lot of, like,
- 37:08naked people and like, there's a lot of naked art.
- 37:12Oh, I know, but I mean that I'm still trying to correlate like
- 37:15what you're saying on as far as like the over the sexualization
- 37:19and and that one, because I think that the I'm I'm saying
- 37:22just from the statistical value, if they're, if kids are having
- 37:27less sex nowadays, but they're doing a lot of there's an
- 37:31overconsumption of pornography. So the kids aren't having sex,
- 37:36but the kids are watching porn. A lot, a lot more young girls,
- 37:40which it used to be just predominantly like when I was a
- 37:43kid, it was a boy. You got Playboy or hustler from
- 37:47somebody that knew somebody. You traded like bottle rockets
- 37:51or money? Access to it.
- 37:53Was very limited I. Have to get a magazine?
- 37:56No, now it's just right there. But The thing is where it's
- 37:58being hit more. You're getting it on X, you're
- 38:01getting it on Instagram, you're getting it on a lot of places
- 38:05where they're able to access it. And it's not necessarily a drug
- 38:10because, you know, I heard a really good quote.
- 38:13When anything is free, then you are the product.
- 38:16Yeah. And so pornography is so easy to
- 38:19get hold of. Yeah.
- 38:20But now they are cutting down on it.
- 38:23And it's not even government. They're.
- 38:25Using. Oh, you mean like the?
- 38:27No, the porn industry is cutting down on free porn.
- 38:30Well, how would they make money unless it's advertising or
- 38:33something within it? Well, you had these companies
- 38:35like Pornhub is a easy one to go to, right?
- 38:37Because everybody knows what that is.
- 38:39But Pornhub has has gone down in viewership.
- 38:44They got hit with a lawsuit because they had a bunch of
- 38:46kiddie porn on it. So I think I heard about that
- 38:49decimated them and then from there all their content creators
- 38:53started going well, I'm going to do my only fans and control what
- 38:56I make now totally relevant they're.
- 38:59Already doing it and making it. Why not independently do it?
- 39:02Right. And so they're just like, you
- 39:04know, everybody had this perception that the porn
- 39:07industry was just multi $1,000,000.
- 39:09Yeah, for certain people, But the other people were completely
- 39:12used. Like some of these women were
- 39:15making like $1500. Oh yeah, for a scene.
- 39:18It's just the same as only fans or anything.
- 39:21No, totally, but. Or acting.
- 39:23Or sports. There's people who play for
- 39:25free, but the people who get paid hundreds of millions of
- 39:29dollars. Oh, absolutely.
- 39:30But the the thing that I see, I mean, what's over sexualized is
- 39:34the exact act of what they said that they don't want to be.
- 39:37If, if anybody could control this, it would be those creators
- 39:41on that they go, well, I have to feed my family.
- 39:43Not everybody was a prostitute. So you don't have to be a
- 39:47prostitute, But I, I think that they do more harm than good
- 39:50because if you start to see a decline in population, in birth
- 39:54rates in marriages and stuff like that, but there's a high.
- 39:57Consumption correlate that with the introduction of only fans.
- 40:01No, no, no. I'm not saying just only fans.
- 40:02There's, there's more than only fans.
- 40:04I'm using only fans as just a, a individual case study, OK?
- 40:10Because on that platform, I'm just saying like if you have
- 40:13more people that are engaging with this content for sexual
- 40:18pleasure instead of going out, making a connection and actually
- 40:21trying to have sex with a human being.
- 40:23Well, that's 'cause I think it. I don't think it starts there.
- 40:26No, no. I'm just saying it starts.
- 40:28There and like I I don't feel connected with sex.
- 40:31No, no, I'm I hope I didn't. I didn't come across that way.
- 40:34I'm not saying this is direct cause, but this is one of the
- 40:37symptoms of being able to just get it on demand and not have to
- 40:41worry about you just. Go back to only fans quite often
- 40:44so I'm curious where. You know, well, because a lot of
- 40:47the content I've been consuming lately.
- 40:49Only fans. No content about these creators
- 40:53and what happened to them and what didn't work out for them
- 40:56and what it did to their lives. How much money they didn't make,
- 40:59how much money they were promised, how much money the
- 41:02company made compared to what they made.
- 41:03They don't make a lot. And it was this expectation that
- 41:08they had that I'm going to go on there and I'm going to do this
- 41:11to myself and I'm going to make a bunch of money.
- 41:14Everyone's different like I the other show that I had started, I
- 41:19had that ex pastor on. She's in her mid 40s and she's
- 41:23an only fans person and she only makes probably like mid 6 low 7
- 41:28figures in a year. And but that isn't everyone's
- 41:32journey. That's not everyone's.
- 41:34But there was less porn people back in the 90s and 2000s than
- 41:41they're ever. Because now it's like anybody
- 41:43can be a porn star. And, and that's fine.
- 41:47I'm, I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but what it does is it
- 41:49creates more division with people because I don't want to
- 41:53go through the trouble of what I think sex should be when I can
- 41:56have somebody create sex that I want in front of me.
- 41:59So now I can do this virtually. I think it's because no one,
- 42:03like we live in such a disconnected world.
- 42:05Yeah, that they're not, they don't know what real connection
- 42:09is. So they're not seeking real
- 42:10connection because they don't know what that is.
- 42:12Why would they seek something they don't know?
- 42:14They're just like I don't. I live in a disconnected world.
- 42:18My friends are online, I talk online.
- 42:20I I work remotely, whatever it is I'm doing or you know, I kids
- 42:24growing up, they're not they're sitting on their phones in the
- 42:27same room not having a conversation while texting or
- 42:30sending memes or reels or some shit and you're like you're 5
- 42:34feet from each other. Why?
- 42:35Why aren't you talking? And it's looking that's.
- 42:37All I'm saying this. Is this disconnected world and
- 42:40so it's it's the connection they know.
- 42:42Yeah, it's the same on the other side.
- 42:44With and it's like it's such a weird disconnect because I can't
- 42:49and this is just me, I can't imagine going and thinking an
- 42:53only fans connection is the same as anything in person.
- 42:56No, but there are a lot of them. Yeah, oh, 100% a lot.
- 42:59Of them I mean, you know, one of the only fans creator that I met
- 43:02and I asked her those questions I'm like, you know what do you
- 43:05do like I mean, do you talk to like yeah, they I mean they.
- 43:08Think it's real connection They do, They're like their online
- 43:12girlfriend or something. And they send them gifts.
- 43:15Yeah. And she's like, I really feel.
- 43:18Connected. Yeah.
- 43:20But maybe that's the only time they've felt scene is in
- 43:22whatever. Conversations are.
- 43:25No, but not always because I've had these conversations with
- 43:30maybe even the same person and just interesting to hear how
- 43:35she's like, yeah, a lot of them just want to talk.
- 43:38They just want to want to talk and feel connected or have
- 43:41someone to feel close to. And I'm like, that's got to be
- 43:44an interesting feeling of like, Hey, I don't know you, but like,
- 43:50and maybe that's the same way it was with like sex workers.
- 43:54And that is that some people just genuinely wanted to come
- 43:57and cry or connect or whatever it was because they didn't feel
- 44:00that way in another. And I don't know, I haven't had
- 44:04a lot of in person discussions with a lot of those people to
- 44:07go, hey, is, is this a common thing?
- 44:09Are you having people come in and and show like incredible
- 44:12emotion or like express or share really deep life things that are
- 44:17going on? Yeah, I think probably even sex
- 44:19workers have gone down to be honest, because it's just
- 44:23because of the the the reason why, you know, a woman at that
- 44:27time would do that was typically because of financial destitute,
- 44:31right? Yeah, they were on their own.
- 44:32They had nothing to do. They had but.
- 44:34More curiosity of like, do you think that is something they
- 44:37experience is a good portion of people who are just coming in
- 44:41going like I'm not looking for the the physical act, but I'm
- 44:46looking for more of this emotional, this emotional
- 44:50connection that I'm lacking in whatever world that I'm living
- 44:54in. Well, and a lot of that goes
- 44:55down to being able to be more self, to be more.
- 45:00What is that? It's like understanding who you
- 45:02are. I I think that's the biggest
- 45:04issue that I see a lot with people is that they want to be
- 45:06something that they're not. Yeah, or they're, they're trying
- 45:09to put on a front. So there's this mask of what
- 45:11they're wearing, pretending. Yes, and you can see going.
- 45:14I just wish you'd be you because I can see this battle and it
- 45:17doesn't feel like you. It feels like you're struggling
- 45:20trying to do something instead of being you.
- 45:23And that's, I'm sure many of them.
- 45:25Like I know I've struggled with that in my life of like trying
- 45:28to figure out whoever the hell I felt like I was or not feeling
- 45:31like I could be me at moments and then realizing oh shit, no,
- 45:34this is who I am and this is who I'm going to be.
- 45:37Yeah. And that's the thing that most
- 45:39people don't have that ability to do.
- 45:41So because they're they live in a prefabricated life.
- 45:45They live vicariously through anybody else but themselves.
- 45:48They are a third party to their own movie.
- 45:51Like they. Watch the MPC.
- 45:53Yeah, they are the MPC because they've made themselves that.
- 45:56I watched this lady skip across the street yesterday and my kids
- 46:01have said this thing that just kind of stuck with me because
- 46:03they'll see someone dancing down the street or something.
- 46:05They're like, oh, he's got main character energy.
- 46:07And I'm like, oh, that's interesting.
- 46:09Yeah. Like this is my story.
- 46:11I'm going to live it. I'm going to, you know, this is
- 46:13my story. Yeah, man, that goes back to
- 46:15like, you know, our perception of what people feel like they're
- 46:18going to accept and not accept. And it's the same thing.
- 46:21Like we, we came, you know, and this has happened perpetually
- 46:24within societies everywhere. It's not necessarily just
- 46:26America, but you know, we, we get weird.
- 46:30It's like we spin really tight. We get way too conservative and
- 46:34then we go really outside part of the fringes and then we come
- 46:36back to, and it's always around connection.
- 46:39It's always this disconnect that we have during a period of time
- 46:42where there's a large amount of technological advancements,
- 46:46like, you know, the industrial age, you know, a lot like Thomas
- 46:49Edison's day. And, and, and I mean, dude, they
- 46:52were just adventures everywhere creating amazing things.
- 46:55And then it all stopped because it it seems like it's a waste of
- 46:58time because something big happens to society.
- 47:01School shift first before that age stopped?
- 47:05Or do you think that age stopped and then school shifted?
- 47:08I think school shifted, especially in Europe.
- 47:11Europe produced some of the most brilliant minds and and they
- 47:16and, but they encouraged them to focus on things that they were
- 47:19good at or what they were attracted to.
- 47:21So learning then was different. Do that anymore.
- 47:24Because everything is Wendy's, McDonald's and Netflix.
- 47:27It's quick. It's fast.
- 47:29It's yeah, but the other is where the creations come in,
- 47:31where the inventions, the new movies and stories that are
- 47:36beautiful. And that's where it's moving.
- 47:38That's where I think that education is going it.
- 47:42It's going towards like how we took college classes in large
- 47:46classrooms and that you had a professor and that they guided
- 47:50the experience of learning. Some of the most impactful
- 47:54learning things of of of not necessarily what I learned, but
- 47:58how to learn came from college. Like the little bit that I had.
- 48:04I loved it because of how engaging these people were that
- 48:08I was learning with because, like one of the professors there
- 48:10was awesome. He's like, you're paying a shit
- 48:12load of money to be here. Yeah.
- 48:14So you better either pay attention or get the fuck out.
- 48:17Yeah, my dad said one of the best things he learned in
- 48:20college was how to learn. He actually took a class on how
- 48:24to learn, like how to study, Yeah.
- 48:26And take notes. And I was like, OK, that's good.
- 48:29And he. Yeah.
- 48:30He's really big on how education is so important.
- 48:33Yes, you need to have a degree and.
- 48:35I think education, but that's the thing where I think that
- 48:38education is shifted from their concept and over here and why
- 48:41we're going to go to AI classrooms is that you need
- 48:43somebody to be able to who is one has an educator's mindset so
- 48:48they can be a mentor as well as an educator because they're two
- 48:53different things. And so now they can go, OK,
- 48:56here's the world we're in. We're going to explore this and
- 48:59I'm going to teach you how to use this tool that just pretty
- 49:03much turned into the English language above everything else
- 49:06because the English language is the predominant language on the
- 49:09planet because everybody knows that you're going to speak
- 49:12English in one way or another. So I think that AI is going to
- 49:16be that way where people are learning underneath it, but they
- 49:19have to be guided by people like in our generations because we
- 49:24actually came from a time where we could think creatively and
- 49:27kids today don't. Kids today think in consumerism,
- 49:32They think in flashy cool things.
- 49:34And that's why I like, I think it's super cool your daughter's
- 49:37into cosplay because she realizes that there is a the
- 49:41more important thing in creativity and being happy than
- 49:44to be focusing on the negatives of the world.
- 49:47So that's cool because. I love that she dresses up and.
- 49:50That's super cool. Today we're going to a jump
- 49:53house for her birthday celebration and like she's like
- 49:58I might go to jump houses till I'm 18 for my birthday like I
- 50:01don't know I love. Them I see adults in there all
- 50:02the time and. I was like, I used to go to jump
- 50:04houses and like things. When I was 1819, I used to go do
- 50:07shit like that all the time. Now she's like, now you're just
- 50:10old and decrepit. I'm like, now my back just hurts
- 50:13and if I do that much bouncing, my back's going to hurt.
- 50:15Me. Yeah, I'm going to be fucked.
- 50:17Up. It's not that I don't want to go
- 50:18do flips and like, climb and do shit, it's that I know.
- 50:22I'm. So much more.
- 50:23Or if I do. But that's cool though, man,
- 50:25and, and you know, that's, it's a great mindset that she has
- 50:28right there. I feel for youth today is that
- 50:31I, I, I think that the thing that we have become so focused
- 50:35on, what do you want to be? What do you want to be?
- 50:37Instead of focusing on go learn, explore and take risks, take.
- 50:42Small risks. You're young.
- 50:43Take big risks. Yeah.
- 50:45Like that was that I talked to my mom about like Finn moving
- 50:48here and his dreams that he wanted to do and how his mom
- 50:52wanted him to go a different way.
- 50:53And she was like, no, no, he needs to follow his dream
- 50:57because even if he fails, he will learn so much through that
- 51:01and so many skills and that and he will at least have tried
- 51:05versus if not, he's always going to wonder what if I had?
- 51:09And I'm like, yeah, like that is such a better way to approach
- 51:13it, going try it, try and fail, try and see what you can do.
- 51:18Because if you succeed, you're going to do amazing things and
- 51:20you are going to love every, not every moment, but you're going
- 51:23to look back and you're going to enjoy that journey.
- 51:25But why not love every moment? I mean, the mindset now is, is
- 51:29to know that you're going to. I mean, I think that's beautiful
- 51:32too, because like Brandon, these last few years, few years, it's
- 51:36been a bit, you've learned more on trying to run your own
- 51:41business. We trying to grow a podcasting
- 51:45business, which, yeah, whatever we did, we did OK, but it wasn't
- 51:49great. And it just, but how much were
- 51:52we forced to learn through the struggle And, and, and the other
- 51:55question I want to give you is what do you think about how your
- 52:00perception of connection has changed through your struggle?
- 52:03Well my struggle has definitely helped me see a lot more people
- 52:06because my struggle has actually made me more of a human which
- 52:10has made me be able to see all the struggles and issues like in
- 52:16life. Granted, I am far from perfect
- 52:17so it's not always, but like overall I think I try to be more
- 52:21introspective, try to see the other person and like way more
- 52:25of where they're coming from and everything else.
- 52:27And it's all of that comes from the journey from all of the
- 52:30shit, the struggle of like going through things and going Oh my
- 52:33God. And then hearing someone else
- 52:34and going my shit's nothing. I can't believe I was so worried
- 52:38or stressed or whatever about mine when everything else is way
- 52:42worse than whatever mine was. Mine's nothing.
- 52:45You go and you smoke and you sit and you go, yeah, it's OK.
- 52:48Like can you, you realize like perspective in life of just time
- 52:52and struggle and seeing other people have like everyone's
- 52:55struggle is different, but everyone's struggle is the same.
- 52:58I feel that our struggles, you know, without it, it, it's a,
- 53:02it's a, it's a bitter life because it, you know, you.
- 53:06I was talking to my, I was talking to my friend at work and
- 53:09she said that she, I was really, she grew up with her dad.
- 53:16He worked in the car industry. So he never changed his oil,
- 53:20never did anything with his tires.
- 53:22He always just took it in. So one time she saw her friend's
- 53:26dad, teenager this time, and he was changing the oil and she's
- 53:29like. What are you doing?
- 53:31You can do that. She's he's like, yeah.
- 53:34And she goes, Oh my gosh, that's so crazy.
- 53:37I thought you just take it somewhere and he goes, no, you
- 53:40can do a lot of things on your own.
- 53:41And that that statement right there.
- 53:45Change your mind. Yeah, and, and I think that's
- 53:48like a a calling card to a lot of people right now is that you
- 53:52can learn anything you want to learn.
- 53:54And that's where it's not having breaks.
- 53:56It's not the idea of I need to produce something valuable in
- 54:00order for me to get paid to get the life that I believe I want,
- 54:04right? You get people that are making 6
- 54:08plus figures, yet they're miserable because they don't
- 54:12have connection or they can't be themselves for one reason or
- 54:15another. And it it's it's hard because we
- 54:18live in these world where even money made isn't fulfilling.
- 54:22When we were told it was money made for the last 10 years.
- 54:26It's like, what's up? Like, you know, I'm Logan.
- 54:28How much money do you? Have You're going to be so cool.
- 54:30Now you can be some YouTube goes around giving out $5000 to
- 54:33random people. Oh, here I want to show how
- 54:36benevolent I am and that those are the people that you should
- 54:38be more worried about. And and they're doing this for
- 54:41what? For clout?
- 54:43And it's like, you know what? Why did nowadays when you do
- 54:48something nice, you should record it because you can make
- 54:52money from it. Instead, it's like with your
- 54:55kids, be who you want to be. Don't let anybody ever tell you
- 54:59anything different. You go to bounce houses until
- 55:02you're 3040. Who cares?
- 55:04Do you like what's up in costumes?
- 55:06Have fun. Like, I mean, until I realized,
- 55:09like the other day, I don't remember what it was I was
- 55:12saying. And I was like, yeah, no, I'm
- 55:13just a kid. And I'm like, fuck yeah, I am
- 55:15just a kid. I'm just a human.
- 55:17I'm literally just inside. I feel like I'm a kid half the
- 55:19time but then I hurt and I'm like oh but I also feel like a
- 55:2260 year old. Dude, I catch my I catch my face
- 55:25in the mirror and I got all this white now on my beard and dude
- 55:29it it's a trip because in my head I still think I'm 20.
- 55:34Like just yeah, right. Fucking playing around and
- 55:37thinking about kid shit. Yep.
- 55:39I'll go past the toy aisle at Walmart.
- 55:41I don't give a fuck. Thinking about the jump house
- 55:43thing with Addie and I'm like oh man, like I could go go do
- 55:47backflips or like and I'm like. No, you can't.
- 55:49No, like what happens if I eat shit or?
- 55:52Like, yeah, I don't think all the beds.
- 55:53I'm not 18, I'm not 16. Like I'm not doing this.
- 55:56So this is the thing I want to ask you last.
- 55:59How do you define yourself worth?
- 56:01I have tried to think about that a lot lately and I think myself
- 56:06worth comes from how I treat other people.
- 56:09Excellent, excellent. Because I know that in the past
- 56:12money is has always been a big thing.
- 56:15And I mean and I know why. It was always looking at oh,
- 56:18where am I in comparison to my dad?
- 56:19Where like where was I? And all that.
- 56:22And now I'm like, why? Why do I care?
- 56:24Like, competition is great. I love competition.
- 56:27But like, not there. Why do I care?
- 56:29Why does that matter? Why is that a tracker of
- 56:32indicator of what's important or valuable in my life of like,
- 56:36here's something. Yeah.
- 56:37And so I'm like, you know, I think it truly is the value I
- 56:41have or bring in life is like how I treat other people.
- 56:45If I am treating other people shitty, I'm not bringing a lot
- 56:48of value to life. I don't have a lot of value in
- 56:50that moment because the value I am showing is is not a lot.
- 56:54If I am treating other people or seeing the value they have and
- 56:58that then I think that I am probably showing up in a better
- 57:01way that whatever action or thing I'm doing.
- 57:03Yeah, is bringing value. And whether it's just having
- 57:07good energy and giving someone a hug or being positive or
- 57:10whatever it is or helping someone, whatever that action is
- 57:14that's coming out of that, that's probably going to be a
- 57:17better value. So that I think is where my
- 57:20value comes from, is my actions, is what I am doing what I'm
- 57:24doing. Dude, if you know, I know you're
- 57:27going through the journey of trying to be able to find, you
- 57:29know, just employment on that side.

- 58:17this morning because it's going to be gone and they're not going
- 58:21to think about it again because it what did it do for them?
- 58:23They're only going to think about the next bowl of cereal,
- 58:25but it's gone from your memory. You don't think about your
- 58:28cereal that you eat in the morning going God damn that was
- 58:30some good cereal. Yeah, right.
- 58:32Fuck. Can't wait.
