- 0:01Speaker 1: Let's dive into this week's matchup in the Coordinator's Corner
- 0:04Speaker 1: of the Sean O'Connell Show. OC chats with the coordinators
- 0:08Speaker 1: every week of the Utah football season. On your home
- 0:12Speaker 1: of the Utes and your home for football, ESPN 792.1 FM.
- 0:16Speaker 2: All right, welcome back to the Sean O'Connell Show. Welcome
- 0:21Speaker 2: in for Coordinator's Corner. This year, we're checking in with
- 0:23Speaker 2: the defense, Colton Swan, Utah, D.C., Coming off another big
- 0:28Speaker 2: victory over Arkansas, getting ready for Utah State.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Colton Swan, welcome to the show again. How are you, sir?
- 0:35Speaker 4: Good, good. Thanks for having me, OC.
- 0:37Speaker 2: All right, so, you know, first blush when you went
- 0:41Speaker 2: back and you dug into the film against Arkansas.
- 0:44Speaker 3: What'd you like? Maybe what didn't you like about your
- 0:46Speaker 3: team's performance?
- 0:48Speaker 4: Speaker 4 05, 06, 07, 08. Yeah. I thought that overall, um,
- 0:50Speaker 4: we played really hard. I thought the kids, kids ran
- 0:53Speaker 4: to the ball well. So the effort, you know, the
- 0:56Speaker 4: relentless attitude that we talk about was, was there. Um,
- 1:00Speaker 4: you know, we had the one turnover I would like
- 1:02Speaker 4: to get gotten to, uh, we did get our hands
- 1:05Speaker 4: on a lot of balls that we need to make
- 1:07Speaker 4: sure that, you know, we come away with two or
- 1:09Speaker 4: more turnovers. It's kind of our goal, uh, every game
- 1:11Speaker 4: that we're looking at. Um, but I, I did like
- 1:15Speaker 4: the production, you know, from the facts to the PBUs
- 1:18Speaker 4: to the TFLs, um, our production board was way up
- 1:22Speaker 4: from the first game. And, uh, so it kind of
- 1:25Speaker 4: reiterates just, you know, our guys' ability to get to
- 1:28Speaker 4: the ball and make plays and just have that kind
- 1:30Speaker 4: of tenacious attitude.
- 1:32Speaker 2: I'm glad you mentioned the plays where you got a
- 1:35Speaker 2: hand on a ball. I, I was keeping count because
- 1:37Speaker 2: that's what you do when you're nitpicking. It was like
- 1:40Speaker 2: the one interception could have been four interceptions, maybe five
- 1:43Speaker 2: interceptions in this game. The difference between making the play,
- 1:48Speaker 2: we talked about this on the show this week, the
- 1:50Speaker 2: difference between being in position and you're right there and
- 1:54Speaker 2: the sack is almost there or the ball hits your
- 1:56Speaker 2: hands and you intercept it or you don't, it's still
- 1:59Speaker 2: a PBU. It's still a broken play for an offense,
- 2:02Speaker 2: but obviously it's not the huge momentum swing. Can you
- 2:06Speaker 2: coach up those differences, or is it just a guy's
- 2:08Speaker 2: got to make a play when that opportunity's there?
- 2:11Speaker 4: Well, I mean, that's a great question because sometimes it does.
- 2:15Speaker 4: It falls into your lap. It just goes your way.
- 2:18Speaker 4: Something just works out just perfectly. We do coach and
- 2:25Speaker 4: really work on turnovers and PBUs and batting balls down
- 2:29Speaker 4: and things like that. And so we're trying to up
- 2:32Speaker 4: the amount of production when it comes to that. You know,
- 2:36Speaker 4: are we constantly as defenders, you know, working ball drills
- 2:39Speaker 4: and things like that? Some things that you would neglect,
- 2:42Speaker 4: you know, as a defensive guy that can really show up,
- 2:46Speaker 4: you know, in a time where, hey, we need to
- 2:48Speaker 4: have ball skills. We need to be able to, you know,
- 2:50Speaker 4: knock these balls down or how to get after a quarterback,
- 2:52Speaker 4: strip sacks, you know, things like that. So there's a
- 2:55Speaker 4: lot of techniques that actually we coach that goes into it.
- 2:58Speaker 4: But at the same time, there are some things that
- 3:00Speaker 4: just kind of fall your way. You know, some of
- 3:01Speaker 4: those PBUs batted at the line of scrimmage by a
- 3:04Speaker 4: defensive lineman will get deflected up in the air and
- 3:07Speaker 4: land right in the lap of the linebacker. That happened,
- 3:10Speaker 4: you know, in this last game and we weren't able
- 3:13Speaker 4: to catch it. And so, you know, things like that
- 3:16Speaker 4: that we continue to work on and you just keep
- 3:18Speaker 4: putting yourself in those positions and they'll come your way eventually.
- 3:22Speaker 2: The I'm working backwards here, I guess the first drive
- 3:25Speaker 2: for Arkansas gobbled up about eight minutes of the first
- 3:28Speaker 2: quarter and it was pretty methodical. And then when they
- 3:32Speaker 2: got down close to scoring position, your team bowed up
- 3:35Speaker 2: and forced the field goal instead. I know that a
- 3:39Speaker 2: defensive coordinator probably drives you nuts when you see someone
- 3:41Speaker 2: kind of building a drive like that, but ultimately they
- 3:44Speaker 2: only came away with the three points and then they
- 3:47Speaker 2: didn't score again for, you know, 48 minutes or whatever
- 3:50Speaker 2: it was. So walk me through that first drive. What
- 3:54Speaker 2: were you seeing? What did Arkansas do well? And maybe
- 3:57Speaker 2: most importantly, what changed as you got down close to
- 4:00Speaker 2: the red zone and your guys were able to keep
- 4:02Speaker 2: them out of the end zone?
- 4:04Speaker 4: Well, I think just to start off is, yeah, they,
- 4:07Speaker 4: their openers who I thought were very good plays. Well,
- 4:10Speaker 4: we'll design strategic plays that were hitting on the outsides,
- 4:14Speaker 4: you know, the fake, the reverses, the speed options, the,
- 4:17Speaker 4: you know, plays that were, were hitting outside. I think
- 4:22Speaker 4: on the very first play, they tried to run an
- 4:23Speaker 4: inside zone and got stuffed immediately. And so they kind
- 4:26Speaker 4: of went to some other openers that I thought was well-designed. And,
- 4:32Speaker 4: you know, as a defense coordinator, you're like, okay, we've
- 4:34Speaker 4: got to handle these things, the fake reverses, the speed
- 4:36Speaker 4: offs and keep everything in front of us, get, you know,
- 4:39Speaker 4: tackle well, make sure that we're keeping stuff, you know,
- 4:42Speaker 4: in front and cupped inside. And, and we did do that,
- 4:47Speaker 4: you know, and when our backs got against the wall
- 4:49Speaker 4: down there in the red zone, we were, you know,
- 4:51Speaker 4: kind of, kind of made a stand there and, and
- 4:53Speaker 4: it worked out for us. But I, I, As the
- 4:56Speaker 4: defense coordinator and those plays are happening and it wasn't
- 4:59Speaker 4: necessarily anything that we were giving up. It was just,
- 5:02Speaker 4: you know, play that they were getting that, you know,
- 5:05Speaker 4: we had, we had worked on and they did a
- 5:08Speaker 4: good job of going back through and looking at things
- 5:11Speaker 4: that are hurt us. in the past here at the
- 5:13Speaker 4: University of Utah. And those are plays that were showing
- 5:16Speaker 4: up in that first series. And so it was good
- 5:18Speaker 4: to see that we were able to, you know, cope
- 5:20Speaker 4: with them and make some plays there and nice to,
- 5:23Speaker 4: in the red zone, have a step up, you know,
- 5:25Speaker 4: and limit them to a field goal. And that's our
- 5:27Speaker 4: whole deal is when we get in the red zone,
- 5:29Speaker 4: I mean, zero touchdowns got to be, that has to
- 5:31Speaker 4: be a field goal. And so it was good to
- 5:33Speaker 4: see our defense kind of step up. I thought the
- 5:35Speaker 4: guys were triggering really well to the ball and it
- 5:38Speaker 4: showed up there late.
- 5:40Speaker 2: I'm sure that people have been talking about it, but
- 5:42Speaker 2: we've been talking about it a lot this last week.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Jaimo had a breakout game, and going back into camp,
- 5:49Speaker 2: and everyone was talking about, hey, man, this guy's undersized,
- 5:52Speaker 2: but watch what he does. You've talked about how the
- 5:55Speaker 2: numbers tell us he's maybe a little small, but he's
- 5:58Speaker 2: a great player regardless, and we got to see a
- 6:01Speaker 2: really nice flash of that against a massive offensive line.
- 6:04Speaker 2: I mean, I was watching from the north end zone,
- 6:08Speaker 2: on one series. And it was like, I mean, I
- 6:10Speaker 2: wish it would have taken a picture because the right
- 6:13Speaker 2: side of their offensive line is like six, four and six, six.
- 6:17Speaker 2: And then you got Jai, however tall he really is five, 10,
- 6:20Speaker 2: five 11. And yet he's, he's the dominant force there,
- 6:24Speaker 2: but you got, you know, 700 pounds of hog Molly
- 6:27Speaker 2: staring at him and he's still making plays. Uh, really,
- 6:30Speaker 2: really nice to see him have that game. And I
- 6:33Speaker 2: just want to give you an opportunity to speak to
- 6:34Speaker 2: the work that he's put in to get there.
- 6:37Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean, and it's, you know, we took him
- 6:39Speaker 4: out of the transfer portal. He comes out of San
- 6:41Speaker 4: Jose in, in watching him, you know, I mean, I'm
- 6:45Speaker 4: sure us and every coach in the country that was
- 6:47Speaker 4: looking at him in the, in the transfer portal center going, okay,
- 6:49Speaker 4: he's undersized. But then you look at the amount of
- 6:52Speaker 4: production and the things that he was doing from a
- 6:54Speaker 4: technical standpoint, it was like, Holy crap. This kid's a
- 6:57Speaker 4: really good player. And, you know, you decide to go
- 6:59Speaker 4: on them and, and when you get them here, you're like, okay,
- 7:02Speaker 4: let's unwrap this present here and see what we got.
- 7:05Speaker 4: And he's lightning in a bottle as, as you know,
- 7:08Speaker 4: thousands of people saw on Saturday. And, um, you know,
- 7:11Speaker 4: he didn't have the production in the first game against
- 7:14Speaker 4: Idaho that he did obviously in this Arkansas game, but
- 7:17Speaker 4: we we've known since he got here, how explosive and
- 7:20Speaker 4: how productive he is. And he's going to continue that. He's,
- 7:23Speaker 4: he's got a great mindset, obviously a great motor. You know,
- 7:27Speaker 4: he wants, he wants to do everything right. And he,
- 7:29Speaker 4: and he does a full speed and, and we couldn't
- 7:31Speaker 4: be more happy with him and his production that he's
- 7:34Speaker 4: doing on the defensive side.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Um, as, since we're talking about D tackles D line, uh,
- 7:39Speaker 2: We saw a really nice pass batted down at the
- 7:42Speaker 2: line of scrimmage, which I guess we've got to be honest,
- 7:45Speaker 2: that's going to be more of a Carson Kalfusi thing
- 7:47Speaker 2: than a Jai thing because he's going to have a
- 7:48Speaker 2: harder time getting up into those passing lanes. But how
- 7:52Speaker 2: do you grade out that play? It's such an impactful thing.
- 7:55Speaker 2: It's not quite a sack, but it's a dead play,
- 7:58Speaker 2: and it's a momentum stealer from an offense. And when
- 8:02Speaker 2: you guys are going through film and you're watching that,
- 8:04Speaker 2: and I know you practice it, a ball batted at
- 8:06Speaker 2: the line of scrimmage can be a big deal.
- 8:09Speaker 4: Oh, big time. And we preach and coach it all
- 8:12Speaker 4: the time. We tell our guys, hey, D-line, you know,
- 8:16Speaker 4: you're obviously in a pass rush. You're thinking, okay, I'm
- 8:19Speaker 4: going to disrupt the pass by getting to the quarterback, right? Well,
- 8:22Speaker 4: there's times that you're not getting to the quarterback. And
- 8:25Speaker 4: so your help in the pass coverage is to bat
- 8:27Speaker 4: the ball down.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Right.
- 8:29Speaker 4: And so we, we work on timing. We work on
- 8:31Speaker 4: getting our hands up, you know, cause the quarterback rarely accounts.
- 8:34Speaker 4: He'll account for, you know, pressure and moving in the
- 8:37Speaker 4: pocket and escaping those types of things. Rarely does he
- 8:40Speaker 4: account for D line, getting their hands up. It's not
- 8:42Speaker 4: like you sit there saying, Oh, there's a D tackle there.
- 8:44Speaker 4: I've got to make sure I slide over here to
- 8:46Speaker 4: the side. Cause I know he's going to jump and
- 8:48Speaker 4: bat my ball down. That doesn't happen at a quarterback's mind.
- 8:51Speaker 4: And so we feel like that that's kind of a hidden,
- 8:54Speaker 4: you know, coverage for us is being able to get these,
- 8:57Speaker 4: you know, hands up and, And, you know, there was
- 9:00Speaker 4: a couple of times you got to, you know, batted
- 9:01Speaker 4: a ball down where a guy was open in the
- 9:03Speaker 4: back end. And so it builds out the DBs in
- 9:06Speaker 4: the back end and the coverage. So we work on
- 9:09Speaker 4: a lot. We talk about it a lot. And obviously
- 9:11Speaker 4: Carson Kifusi does an amazing job of it. He's got,
- 9:14Speaker 4: you know, great impeccable timing when it comes to batting
- 9:16Speaker 4: the ball down. And this really understands, you know, quarterback eyes.
- 9:20Speaker 4: And there's a lot that goes into it, but he
- 9:22Speaker 4: does a great job.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Coach, what do you guys feed Nate Ritchie? It seems
- 9:27Speaker 2: like he's a different player. Not that he was ever
- 9:30Speaker 2: a bad player, but it seems like he's on a
- 9:32Speaker 2: slightly different level this year.
- 9:34Speaker 3: And to what do you attribute that?
- 9:37Speaker 4: I first off, I think he's, he's always had that. Well,
- 9:41Speaker 4: he had a hell of a game, but he's always
- 9:43Speaker 4: had that competitive drive to be great. You know, has
- 9:47Speaker 4: he been successful as he has in these first two games? No,
- 9:50Speaker 4: but you know, he's always been very competitive and really
- 9:53Speaker 4: wants to be great and everything that he does, not
- 9:55Speaker 4: just football life. And so, you know, you stick with
- 9:59Speaker 4: something along enough and you're that competitive, then you're going
- 10:02Speaker 4: to start to see the results of that. And in
- 10:05Speaker 4: these first two games, he's done a great job for us.
- 10:07Speaker 4: Like I said, he's one of the older guys on
- 10:09Speaker 4: the defense. He really understands football. The defensive knowledge and
- 10:13Speaker 4: terminology and alignment and assignment from a mental standpoint and
- 10:17Speaker 4: then now putting plays together from a physical standpoint, technical standpoint,
- 10:21Speaker 4: the way he's tackling. And he does a really good
- 10:24Speaker 4: job of understanding his opponent. He's dialed in on, you know,
- 10:29Speaker 4: the three things that we talk about defensively that, you know,
- 10:32Speaker 4: before the ball snaps, you know, you know, the formation
- 10:34Speaker 4: down the distance of personnel, right? And you take those
- 10:37Speaker 4: three things and what does it give me? And Nate
- 10:39Speaker 4: really does a good job with kind of, you know,
- 10:41Speaker 4: that little cheat sheet. And so it's nice to see
- 10:44Speaker 4: him be successful.
- 10:46Speaker 2: I had to ask Kevin McGibbon this question and I
- 10:49Speaker 2: got to ask you the same thing because there's an
- 10:52Speaker 2: expectation sometimes from a fan base that when you play
- 10:55Speaker 2: a team like Idaho, it's going to be kind of
- 10:57Speaker 2: a vanilla game plan offensively and defensively. And then it's
- 11:00Speaker 2: going to ramp up more. against an opponent like Arkansas.
- 11:04Speaker 2: And it seems to me, and you can correct me
- 11:07Speaker 2: if I'm wrong here, that you didn't really keep too
- 11:10Speaker 2: much in the, in the bag for Idaho. You were
- 11:13Speaker 2: showing some stuff and that it didn't ramp up necessarily
- 11:16Speaker 2: in a drastic amount for Arkansas.
- 11:18Speaker 3: So the question is like, how deep in your bag
- 11:21Speaker 3: are you?
- 11:21Speaker 2: How, how much of the possibilities of this offense have
- 11:24Speaker 2: you showed us so far, this defense, excuse me, have
- 11:27Speaker 2: you showed us so far?
- 11:28Speaker 4: Well, it's not how I look at it is it's,
- 11:32Speaker 4: I don't really, look at the opponent of who they
- 11:36Speaker 4: are necessarily of what they're doing. Um, I, I just
- 11:40Speaker 4: try to make sure that what we're going to provide
- 11:42Speaker 4: defense is they all, all about us and how we
- 11:44Speaker 4: can be successful versus certain formations, certain plays. And, uh,
- 11:49Speaker 4: you know, I, I, it will continue to, you know,
- 11:51Speaker 4: grow in different things and you'll see new things every week. Um,
- 11:55Speaker 4: and I feel like we predicate our defense according to
- 11:58Speaker 4: what we don't, we're, we're going to see versus an offense.
- 12:02Speaker 4: you know, and what an offense provides and how we
- 12:05Speaker 4: feel like we can attack it. And so I think
- 12:08Speaker 4: we're very unique in that regard. I think you're going
- 12:10Speaker 4: to always see new stuff every week and, and it's,
- 12:13Speaker 4: it's going to continue to grow. And I'm sure by
- 12:16Speaker 4: the end of the season, like, Holy crap, you got
- 12:18Speaker 4: this entire defense that, you know, you've ran over 12
- 12:21Speaker 4: weeks and it's like, it's just a package that's kind
- 12:25Speaker 4: of keeps changing from week to week. If that makes sense.
- 12:28Speaker 3: One more minute here with Colton Swan.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Utah defensive coordinator on Coordinator's Corner on the Sean O'Connell Show.
- 12:34Speaker 3: What are you seeing from Utah State? What are they offensively?
- 12:39Speaker 4: They are a very dynamic. They've got a really good
- 12:42Speaker 4: skill set with wide receivers, wide receivers that can run,
- 12:46Speaker 4: that can catch the ball or get in and out
- 12:47Speaker 4: of breaks on the routes. Do a great job at
- 12:50Speaker 4: the line of scrimmage and in press and press man.
- 12:54Speaker 4: Great job with those guys. The running backs, I think
- 12:57Speaker 4: are very good. They've got a running back that's extremely
- 12:59Speaker 4: athletic and, and he's backed up by another kid that
- 13:02Speaker 4: you know, it was kind of a one, two punch
- 13:04Speaker 4: and The quarterbacks are very athletic and have the ability
- 13:08Speaker 4: to get out in space and make plays outside of pockets.
- 13:13Speaker 4: They can run and do some creative stuff there. I
- 13:17Speaker 4: think they use the tight ends very good, whether it's
- 13:20Speaker 4: blocking or getting them down the field in the pass game.
- 13:25Speaker 4: They do a nice job with formations. They do a
- 13:27Speaker 4: nice job with motions and and really put a lot
- 13:30Speaker 4: of stress on defense to make sure, you know, your
- 13:33Speaker 4: rules are going to apply to everything that you see.
- 13:36Speaker 4: And so I've been really impressed with Coach and I
- 13:38Speaker 4: and what he does.
- 13:41Speaker 2: How do you separate out or how do you process when,
- 13:45Speaker 2: you know, a team through two games, because that's all
- 13:47Speaker 2: you have to study from this year, is kind of bipolar, right?
- 13:51Speaker 2: They have a pretty stinky first outing, and then they
- 13:54Speaker 2: play really well against a much better opponent in Washington.
- 13:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:58Speaker 3: How do you, when you're putting your game plan together, how.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Do you study the film and say, all right, that's
- 14:03Speaker 2: more representative of what they really are, or this is
- 14:06Speaker 2: why it looked bad in the first game?
- 14:09Speaker 4: Yeah, I think in the first game they had a
- 14:11Speaker 4: few things not go their way. Um, you know, there
- 14:14Speaker 4: was some drops, there was some, uh, you know, it's
- 14:18Speaker 4: what they'll stay kid leaving the game. You know, I
- 14:20Speaker 4: know he threw some interceptions that were unexpected and, and
- 14:23Speaker 4: stuff like that. Um, I think that the momentum in
- 14:26Speaker 4: the second game really got them going. I think they
- 14:29Speaker 4: were in a good fight and battling and that just
- 14:32Speaker 4: kept them in the game. And, and this team, as
- 14:35Speaker 4: you watch them, you're like, this is a very well-coached tough,
- 14:39Speaker 4: mentally tough team. I mean, they play extremely hard. They
- 14:43Speaker 4: are not going to back down from anybody, whether it's Washington, Utah,
- 14:46Speaker 4: you know, Idaho state. And, and they, they play that way.
- 14:50Speaker 4: They got a chip on their shoulder. So they do
- 14:52Speaker 4: a good job there. I think this, the momentum in
- 14:54Speaker 4: the second game kind of really helped them propel themselves
- 14:58Speaker 4: throughout the game. And, you know, they, they kind of
- 15:01Speaker 4: fell into some tough spots and, in the Idaho state game. And,
- 15:05Speaker 4: and so I, you know, I think it's still the
- 15:07Speaker 4: same team. It's just, just a matter of momentum. All right.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Last thing before I let you go, take me inside
- 15:13Speaker 2: the mind of a defensive coordinator. When they're trying to
- 15:16Speaker 2: prep against Utah's offense, Mac G is a mad scientist.
- 15:21Speaker 2: He's got two quarterback formations. I don't even know how
- 15:24Speaker 2: do you identify that, right?
- 15:25Speaker 3: Because we know 11 personnel, 12 personnel, 13 personnel.
- 15:28Speaker 2: What do you call the personnel grouping when it's two
- 15:31Speaker 2: quarterbacks and a running back and two quarterbacks and two
- 15:34Speaker 2: tight ends?
- 15:34Speaker 3: What do you call that, Colton?
- 15:36Speaker 4: Yeah, it's tough. I tell you what, because I've had
- 15:38Speaker 4: to go against it for, you know, throughout the winter
- 15:41Speaker 4: and into spring and fall camp. And so I don't
- 15:44Speaker 4: think there's going to be a personnel or a formation
- 15:47Speaker 4: that I wouldn't be used to. But that's for sure,
- 15:50Speaker 4: because I've pretty much seen it all with the different
- 15:54Speaker 4: sets that we've been getting from our offense, which it's awesome.
- 15:57Speaker 4: I mean, that's, you know, football's a lot about matchups and,
- 16:01Speaker 4: you know, putting guys in. you know, position to expose
- 16:05Speaker 4: one another, expose the defense. And, you know, Coach McGiven
- 16:09Speaker 4: does a really good job with that. He obviously has
- 16:12Speaker 4: two very good quarterbacks that he utilizes. And so, yeah,
- 16:16Speaker 4: as a defense coordinator, man, I know you're pulling your
- 16:18Speaker 4: hair out because there's all kinds of personnel formations and
- 16:21Speaker 4: different things that they do. So you've got to have
- 16:25Speaker 4: a well-rounded defense and be able to, you know, account
- 16:28Speaker 4: for a lot of different stuff.
- 16:30Speaker 3: All right, I lied. One more question. So far, no sacks.
- 16:33Speaker 3: From the defensive end position.
- 16:35Speaker 2: And I know we're getting nitpicky here because wins are
- 16:38Speaker 2: wins and that's all that really matters. But, you know,
- 16:41Speaker 2: that's something we've grown to expect to be accustomed to
- 16:44Speaker 2: with Utah defense, that that pass rushing position generates production there.
- 16:49Speaker 2: What's it going to take for those guys to put
- 16:50Speaker 2: up numbers and not just, you know, not just affect
- 16:53Speaker 2: the quarterback in his pocket?
- 16:56Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, those guys will get going. They're a
- 16:59Speaker 4: talented group. Right now, I know the ball's getting out quick, which,
- 17:04Speaker 4: you know, that's why you're getting more of the PBUs
- 17:06Speaker 4: and things like that than you are right now at
- 17:08Speaker 4: the SACs. And I truly believe that they'll get going.
- 17:12Speaker 4: They just got to find their groove and, you know,
- 17:15Speaker 4: just us as coaches putting them in positions so they
- 17:18Speaker 4: have those opportunities and making sure that, you know, that
- 17:23Speaker 4: they have the ability to make those sacks. And so
- 17:27Speaker 4: I'm not worried about that at all. And like I said,
- 17:29Speaker 4: I mean, it's not that we're not getting sacks. It's just,
- 17:31Speaker 4: you know, maybe it's coming from a backer or from
- 17:34Speaker 4: a D tackle or whatever it may be. You know,
- 17:36Speaker 4: we're still putting pressure on that quarterback. That's the main thing.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Well, congratulations on being 2-0. Let's see you go 3-0.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Thanks for joining us, and we'll see you up there
- 17:48Speaker 2: on Saturday.
- 17:49Speaker 4: All right. You bet, OC. Take care.
- 17:52Speaker 3: That is Colton Swan, coordinator of corner here with the D.C.
