- 0:25Speaker 1: It is time to leave your worries outside and laugh
- 0:28Speaker 1: with us inside the Treehouse on a very special Fred Day.
- 0:34Speaker 1: September twenty seven, twenty twenty four, is special because it
- 0:38Speaker 1: is road show Day inside the Treehouse. So this is
- 0:41Speaker 1: how you do things. You start today with this show.
- 0:45Speaker 1: You start it with the Friday episode. You listen to
- 0:48Speaker 1: this and then this afternoon you can hang out with
- 0:51Speaker 1: us at Shakerton's Arlington I thirty and Collins from five
- 0:55Speaker 1: to seven pm for a live taping of the Treehouse.
- 0:59Speaker 1: And when you witness the live taping, that will then
- 1:03Speaker 1: be Monday's Plus episode and Monday's Monday episode, so you
- 1:09Speaker 1: get a you get an advanced screening of things to
- 1:14Speaker 1: come early next week inside the Treehouse. On top of that,
- 1:18Speaker 1: we also have merch available. We'll have a couple of
- 1:22Speaker 1: giveaways to do, and just a general time of merriment
- 1:28Speaker 1: had by all of us, food, drinks and laughs at
- 1:32Speaker 1: Jiggertan's Arlington with your with your buddies from the Treehouse. Now.
- 1:37Speaker 1: One of the big reasons why we continue to do
- 1:40Speaker 1: this show is because it not only makes us happy.
- 1:46Speaker 1: The goal is that it does something to improve your day,
- 1:49Speaker 1: makes your day better. And I'm a firm believer in that.
- 1:52Speaker 1: I feel like, if you're having a horrible day, listening
- 1:55Speaker 1: to this show or watching it on our Patreon channel,
- 1:57Speaker 1: Patreon dot com, slash treehouse on it will make your
- 2:00Speaker 1: day better. I also contend that if you're having a
- 2:03Speaker 1: wonderful day, it can still make your day better. I'm
- 2:08Speaker 1: going to be so bold as to also say that
- 2:10Speaker 1: even if you hate the show, it'll still make your
- 2:13Speaker 1: day better, because then you can at least point to
- 2:15Speaker 1: it and say, God, those guys suck. I'm glad I'm
- 2:18Speaker 1: not them. Goals still achieved. You feel better. I don't
- 2:24Speaker 1: think that's going to be the sentiment, but I just
- 2:26Speaker 1: wanted it said in case someone saw an opening and
- 2:28Speaker 1: they wanted to take it. Now, I'm going to take
- 2:29Speaker 1: it first. So we're going to do that the way
- 2:33Speaker 1: we've always done, and we're going to do it for you,
- 2:35Speaker 1: raj our friend who's in a time of morning, because
- 2:38Speaker 1: your family has experienced lost this week. We mentioned yesterday
- 2:42Speaker 1: that your girlfriend's mom passed away this week after a
- 2:47Speaker 1: long health battle, an actual health battle, not a concocted
- 2:50Speaker 1: one to cover up alcoholism. Like I have previous experience with.
- 2:55Speaker 2: That would have been awesome because she's only three foot five,
- 2:58Speaker 2: so if she was putting away gallon of vo that
- 3:02Speaker 2: would have been amazing.
- 3:05Speaker 1: I had to tell him at one point, and this
- 3:06Speaker 1: is all I need to say about it, when he
- 3:08Speaker 1: complained about the hole in his heart, and it's like, dude,
- 3:11Speaker 1: that's that's not a problem. It's always been there. We've
- 3:16Speaker 1: always known it. We just now have proof. Or also
- 3:20Speaker 1: maybe it wasn't always there and you drank so much
- 3:22Speaker 1: you burned a hole in it, but that wasn't what
- 3:27Speaker 1: got yet. Anyway, our sympathies to you and your girlfriend's family,
- 3:32Speaker 1: and I know that's a very, very troubling time. It's
- 3:35Speaker 1: an interesting time too, because if we're being honest with
- 3:40Speaker 1: death comes some interesting choices to be made, because that's
- 3:46Speaker 1: when you find out there have been advancements in what
- 3:52Speaker 1: to do with people after life, right the after life care?
- 3:57Speaker 1: What do you do? Some people don't have it in
- 3:58Speaker 1: a will. They just tell you or they were like
- 4:01Speaker 1: in Drey's case, they write it down on a napkin
- 4:03Speaker 1: hurriedly and say, yes, mom is yeah what you said?
- 4:06Speaker 1: This is kinna sticking. Yeah, very binding. The cocktail napkin
- 4:10Speaker 1: is binding. But yeah, you find out all these things
- 4:14Speaker 1: about after life options because look, I mean really, back
- 4:20Speaker 1: in the day, there were really only two options. You
- 4:22Speaker 1: either get buried or you get burned. It's buried or cremated.
- 4:28Speaker 1: But now there's new options there are.
- 4:31Speaker 2: When my mom passed away in twenty twelve, it was
- 4:34Speaker 2: it was kind of the same, like you either get
- 4:35Speaker 2: buried or cremated, and we're Hindu, so we cremate. When
- 4:39Speaker 2: my dad passed a couple of years ago, that's when
- 4:41Speaker 2: I started seeing like you could have like butterflies released
- 4:46Speaker 2: or doves. And when Nikki's mom passed the other day.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Hang on a second, I'm sorry I went with doves.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Is that the prints package? Like you can have actual
- 4:59Speaker 1: doves crying.
- 5:02Speaker 2: You're you're ahead of the game now, Like this is now,
- 5:05Speaker 2: it's going to be somebody's going to do that. Now
- 5:07Speaker 2: you're gonna have the wind doves cry package.
- 5:10Speaker 1: And then and then for the extra bonus, then you
- 5:12Speaker 1: get the manufactured purple rain to come out.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Ah, there you go.
- 5:16Speaker 1: That's how I sent it. That's how I should have
- 5:18Speaker 1: sent off my grandmother. Instead we did the lame balloon thing.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Yes, I would love to have seen your grandmother go
- 5:25Speaker 2: out to Prince's Purple Rain.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Does it come with with with you know, like a
- 5:31Speaker 3: five foot two guy in heels playing basketball.
- 5:35Speaker 1: It wouldn't be the package if it didn't.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Yeah, and also Apollonia. No. So when we were looking at.
- 5:44Speaker 1: This, gread grandmother's ashes in Lake Minnetonka.
- 5:49Speaker 2: On a custom made Harley because the the one that
- 5:51Speaker 2: they actually had on the set for this. I don't
- 5:53Speaker 2: know if you guys know this about the movie. The
- 5:56Speaker 2: Harley that he rides is custom made because the Harley
- 5:59Speaker 2: that they had, because he is four foot eleven and
- 6:02Speaker 2: six inch heels, he couldn't he couldn't like, he couldn't
- 6:06Speaker 2: park it. It would just fall, so he couldn't put
- 6:09Speaker 2: his leg down.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Yeah. I just assume that the motorcycle they used is
- 6:13Speaker 1: one of those mini bikes.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Kind of was like, that's the one he had. But no.
- 6:19Speaker 2: So I was looking up as we were, you know,
- 6:21Speaker 2: finding the crematorium that was closest to the nursing home
- 6:28Speaker 2: hospice facility that she was at. Other packages started coming up,
- 6:34Speaker 2: and one of them was if you want, guys and
- 6:37Speaker 2: I would like this, so this is binding you can
- 6:43Speaker 2: for four ninety five dollars. I can't remember. I'll find
- 6:47Speaker 2: the name of the crematorium. But you can have your
- 6:49Speaker 2: ashes launched into space and I think it's twelve thousand.
- 6:55Speaker 2: If you wanted to go to space and.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Come back, why would you want to back?
- 7:01Speaker 2: I don't know, and I don't know.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Well, okay, hang on, they're just taking the tube of ashes,
- 7:09Speaker 1: because if you the person want to go to space
- 7:11Speaker 1: with the ashes, that's like a quarter of a million dollars. Yeah,
- 7:14Speaker 1: something on space X.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Okay, yes, no, no, you just your box of ashes
- 7:19Speaker 2: five thousand dollars, Space gets released and then that's that
- 7:25Speaker 2: you're in space forever.
- 7:27Speaker 1: What Okay, I've this This is bringing up red flags
- 7:33Speaker 1: all over the place.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Yes it should.
- 7:38Speaker 1: It's like going to space costs more than five thousand dollars.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Shooting something into space costs way more than five thousand dollars.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Are they just gonna attach, you know, Grandma to an
- 7:47Speaker 1: ACME rocket and then just walk away as it goes up.
- 7:51Speaker 2: I assume like as soon as they have enough people
- 7:56Speaker 2: they will do one flight.
- 7:58Speaker 3: It is my guess, like the Columbia package where you
- 8:01Speaker 3: go up and then you just cremated the way back down.
- 8:05Speaker 1: And then and then you're spread out over East Texas
- 8:07Speaker 1: and end up in a long View pawn shop.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Of the Challenger package. Please wrong, too soon?
- 8:20Speaker 1: Really I didn't too soon?
- 8:24Speaker 2: Too soon? So yes, but you can you can be
- 8:29Speaker 2: launched into space. Uh, and then twelve thousand you can
- 8:33Speaker 2: be launched into space and then come back and then
- 8:35Speaker 2: your family can have your space ashes to to keep
- 8:39Speaker 2: uh forever.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Okay, if anyone in my families going to space, it's
- 8:45Speaker 1: going to be me. It's not going to be someone
- 8:47Speaker 1: dead who can't appreciate it.
- 8:49Speaker 4: Right.
- 8:50Speaker 2: And then there's other packages as well, like if you
- 8:52Speaker 2: want to be a tree, you can be a tree.
- 8:54Speaker 2: They can mix you in soil, and like you can
- 8:58Speaker 2: pick the type of tree you want to be, like
- 9:00Speaker 2: an apple or pear or orange.
- 9:02Speaker 1: And that's a lot of pressure to keep that plant alive.
- 9:08Speaker 2: It will kill grandma twice.
- 9:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Or just imagine, just imagine it's a first date and
- 9:14Speaker 1: you go into you go into some somebody's place and
- 9:17Speaker 1: you're like, oh, yeah, this is great. Things are looking
- 9:19Speaker 1: really really good. And then she points at the plant
- 9:21Speaker 1: on the mantle and goes, that's grandma.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Yeah, that that is a possibility. Also, like if you're
- 9:28Speaker 2: like a like a fruit tree, do you eat the fruit.
- 9:33Speaker 1: I don't want to have to tell anybody that I
- 9:35Speaker 1: ate Grandma. I think people are going to make some
- 9:41Speaker 1: really wrong assumptions.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Yeah, that's but uh there are options for that as well.
- 9:47Speaker 2: And they put you in a little pond and then
- 9:49Speaker 2: you plant that in the ground and water it and
- 9:52Speaker 2: you become like an orange tree and you can bear
- 9:56Speaker 2: fruit uh forever. So it'd be like Dan's oranges.
- 10:03Speaker 1: This brings up an interesting question that we may have
- 10:05Speaker 1: to pose later on today, either in this show or
- 10:09Speaker 1: maybe at the road show, which is, if you die,
- 10:13Speaker 1: what kind of tree or what kind of fruit tree
- 10:17Speaker 1: do you want to come back? As?
- 10:18Speaker 2: I mean, I would I would go walnuts just because
- 10:22Speaker 2: it would be like, oh, man, nuts great, just to
- 10:27Speaker 2: be able to say walnut, just a walnut tree, right,
- 10:32Speaker 2: Just be like just to be able to say, like, hey,
- 10:34Speaker 2: when I'm gone, don't forget to savor my nuts.
- 10:41Speaker 1: And we put you out seasonally, you know, for the holidays,
- 10:47Speaker 1: and it makes nice wood. All right. I think we're
- 10:53Speaker 1: onto something.
- 10:57Speaker 5: In line at freehouse on air dot com.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Let's get you into a new car if you are
- 11:09Speaker 1: looking for a new vehicle. You're wondering what kind of
- 11:12Speaker 1: model do I want? What make? What model do I want?

- 11:42Speaker 1: you're actually using. When you buy a car, you're buying
- 11:44Speaker 1: the whole thing, and you're paying six seven years on
- 11:47Speaker 1: it that you're already leasing the vehicle unless you're gonna

- 13:09Speaker 1: is road show day inside the Treehouse. So you listen
- 13:12Speaker 1: to this now and then later on this afternoon you

- 13:16Speaker 1: Arlington five to seven pm. That's I thirty and Collins
- 13:19Speaker 1: shaker Tin's Arlington and Jerry, you're going to be there too, right, absolutely?
- 13:23Speaker 1: Hell yeah, it's going to be the full Treehouse crew.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Fun and good times had by all. Jerry. I'm not
- 13:30Speaker 1: sure if you've heard this week, but Raj unfortunately had
- 13:34Speaker 1: to say goodbye to his girlfriend's mother this week. She
- 13:38Speaker 1: didn't die, she just couldn't stand him. I'm kidding, in
- 13:45Speaker 1: a very dark time. She actually did pass away. And
- 13:48Speaker 1: it's a big loss, not just for Raj and his
- 13:50Speaker 1: girlfriend's family, but we feel the loss as well. So
- 13:52Speaker 1: we're trying to make rage feel a little bit better
- 13:53Speaker 1: this week, and I think we're doing a pretty good job.
- 13:55Speaker 1: We just learned that you can now send your family's
- 13:57Speaker 1: remains into space for only five thousand dollars. Seems like
- 14:00Speaker 1: a hell of a deal. Is that a groupon by
- 14:01Speaker 1: the way, you.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Would think so? But also butterflies more expensive than doves.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Don't know why that is interesting.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Are the butterflies alive or do they just like ransack
- 14:14Speaker 1: like a third grader summer project.
- 14:17Speaker 2: There are live butterflies that you can release at at
- 14:22Speaker 2: the moment that you tell them to for your loved one.
- 14:26Speaker 2: It is two I think it was like two ninety
- 14:28Speaker 2: five for the butterflies, but like doves were two fifty.
- 14:31Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't know why butterflies were forty five
- 14:33Speaker 2: bucks more. I think it's in my this is just
- 14:36Speaker 2: how my Indian brain works. Is they've trained the doves
- 14:39Speaker 2: to come back so they can just keep using the
- 14:42Speaker 2: same doves, as opposed to the butterflies, which I'm assuming
- 14:46Speaker 2: are very hard to train.
- 14:49Speaker 1: One would think that's fair. I wouldn't know, but I
- 14:52Speaker 1: guess it's a fair assumption that insects are not as
- 14:56Speaker 1: trainable as you know birds.
- 14:58Speaker 4: Now, did anyone try to sell you a spinning coffin package?
- 15:04Speaker 2: Let's see, now, I would have bought it. I would have.
- 15:08Speaker 2: I would have done that because again, Nikki's mom was
- 15:12Speaker 2: a little person, so she's three foot five. So we
- 15:14Speaker 2: could have had like race car, or we could have
- 15:17Speaker 2: had like spaceship, like we could have like, oh, there
- 15:20Speaker 2: have been so many options, and then the spinning thing
- 15:22Speaker 2: would be like we could put it in the living
- 15:24Speaker 2: room while people come by to pay their reserve. Go.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Yeah, Jerry, did you know that's a real thing. We
- 15:30Speaker 1: covered it like a couple of weeks ago, and here
- 15:32Speaker 1: it's people actually have coffins on motors. They'll be they'll
- 15:36Speaker 1: be like one like one guy was a taxi driver
- 15:38Speaker 1: his entire life, So how do they send him off
- 15:40Speaker 1: into the afterlife by burying him in a taxi looking coffin?
- 15:46Speaker 1: But for the memorial they sit him up in it
- 15:50Speaker 1: like he's driving it, which is kind of sad, like
- 15:53Speaker 1: he drove a taxi his entire life, and now you're
- 15:55Speaker 1: gonna make him taxi himself across the river sticks like
- 15:58Speaker 1: you couldn't get him a limo. Come on, as if
- 16:05Speaker 1: that's not bad enough, Now they motorize it to where
- 16:08Speaker 1: he's spinning around and round, So I guess that's not
- 16:10Speaker 1: so bad. And I guess he's doing donuts. What is
- 16:12Speaker 1: it your Oh, it's not spinning over like like rotating
- 16:15Speaker 1: like spinning in your grave. No, he's not doing barrel rolls.
- 16:18Speaker 1: It's it's not the it wasn't the top gun package.
- 16:21Speaker 1: I see.
- 16:22Speaker 2: I see this is more like a you know, like
- 16:24Speaker 2: a like a jewelry package, like you know, how you
- 16:26Speaker 2: have a ring and like it'll turn so you can
- 16:29Speaker 2: see it shimmer this is what they're doing. The people
- 16:32Speaker 2: he had the he had the full on suit, white gloves,
- 16:37Speaker 2: holding onto the steering wheel, spinning around uh as people
- 16:41Speaker 2: were dancing around his uh.
- 16:43Speaker 6: His coffin, I was gonna say, as expensive as funerals
- 16:47Speaker 6: have gotten, it might have been cheaper just to bury
- 16:49Speaker 6: him in his actual TAXI.
- 16:52Speaker 1: I think you bring up a great point, and I'm
- 16:54Speaker 1: going to bring up something that's going to sound very harsh,
- 16:56Speaker 1: but I want it said that if I was in
- 16:59Speaker 1: the position that I just end, this is absolutely something
- 17:01Speaker 1: I would say to the funeral director people. Since she
- 17:06Speaker 1: was a little person.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Does it cost the same?
- 17:12Speaker 2: It would?
- 17:14Speaker 1: Trust me, I asked, I'm proud of you. Let's be honest.
- 17:21Speaker 1: It's like, just because you're sad in your grieving doesn't
- 17:24Speaker 1: mean you need to, you know, throw financial caution to
- 17:29Speaker 1: the wind. I mean, it's still it's expensive. So if
- 17:32Speaker 1: there's any way you can find a way to get
- 17:34Speaker 1: half off, then by god, do it.
- 17:36Speaker 2: So I said, you know she was half off, so
- 17:39Speaker 2: do we get half off? Which they thought they didn't know.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Nobody laughed like you guys, did they.
- 17:45Speaker 1: You would think you would think there are two audiences
- 17:47Speaker 1: that would laugh their asses off at that question. One
- 17:50Speaker 1: is us and everyone who listens to us, and the
- 17:52Speaker 1: other would be funeral people. That's that's gotta be right
- 17:55Speaker 1: in line with their dark humor.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I got this, so so everybody's like really worried
- 18:01Speaker 2: about you know, you got to be sensitive and so
- 18:03Speaker 2: you know, our condolences and did all that. I was like, okay,
- 18:07Speaker 2: I'll lighten the mood. I'm a comic. I can tell
- 18:12Speaker 2: like when when the timing is right. And I was
- 18:14Speaker 2: just like, hey, so she's half off, do we get
- 18:16Speaker 2: half off? And I was met with no, sir, and
- 18:21Speaker 2: that was it. I was like, Yeah, I was like,
- 18:25Speaker 2: come on, that was a solid joke.
- 18:27Speaker 1: I'm surprised. I'm surprised they didn't try to charge you
- 18:30Speaker 1: a premium for it because it would be an outside
- 18:34Speaker 1: the normal range of things. It'd be like a specialty
- 18:39Speaker 1: burial or situation.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Yes, you think you'll make a funeral director of funeral
- 18:47Speaker 3: home sadder than either word half off.
- 18:53Speaker 2: That's why Indians are in the funeral home business. Yeah,
- 18:57Speaker 2: because I was just like, it's i mean, she three
- 18:59Speaker 2: for five, Like it's it's not gonna take them. It's
- 19:03Speaker 2: not the same amount of time. Is it? Like, I
- 19:05Speaker 2: don't know how it all works.
- 19:06Speaker 1: And if you took the space package, wouldn't it make
- 19:10Speaker 1: sense if a let's say, an average height person five
- 19:13Speaker 1: eight is five thousand dollars to be shot into space, right,
- 19:18Speaker 1: it stands to reason she's taking up less space on
- 19:20Speaker 1: cargo that.
- 19:21Speaker 2: She would not be like can we just make her
- 19:25Speaker 2: his carry on?
- 19:32Speaker 1: Or if a basketball player is on the same ship,
- 19:35Speaker 1: then it can be like a personal item.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Can we just put her put her in the backpack?
- 19:39Speaker 2: Like we're good, she doesn't take up a lot of room.
- 19:43Speaker 2: So no, Yeah, I did, I did. That's that which, Uh,
- 19:49Speaker 2: the Indian side of me was very proud. The American
- 19:52Speaker 2: side of me was very shaped, like it shouldn't cost
- 19:57Speaker 2: the whole amount, Like it's just like you can you
- 20:00Speaker 2: can put another person in there. This is like you
- 20:03Speaker 2: can do it two for one.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Never be a shame for will place joke in a
- 20:08Speaker 1: situation like that.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I was proud.
- 20:11Speaker 4: I was proud.
- 20:12Speaker 1: I'm proud of you. We're all proud of you.
- 20:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I was very proud of it. They just very straightforward. No,
- 20:20Speaker 2: nobody wants to laugh.
- 20:21Speaker 1: Really, I wonder if it's one of those situations that
- 20:23Speaker 1: if if the funeral guy had said it, then it
- 20:26Speaker 1: would have been okay.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean if I would have been if he
- 20:31Speaker 2: would have been like other funeral people, no, but if
- 20:33Speaker 2: he would have looked at me, he's like, you know, well,
- 20:34Speaker 2: so I think we can probably do something half off.
- 20:37Speaker 2: I would have been like, all right, man, come on,
- 20:39Speaker 2: high five.
- 20:44Speaker 1: High five, fist bump, bro hug it out. Absolutely like
- 20:48Speaker 1: you and I just became friends.
- 20:51Speaker 2: Like, come to my show on Friday. This is gonna
- 20:53Speaker 2: be fun. But nobody appreciated the joke. I was like,
- 20:58Speaker 2: come on, I'm I got back in the car and
- 21:02Speaker 2: he was like, that was hilarious. Just why she just
- 21:04Speaker 2: couldn't laugh because obviously it's her mom, so she had
- 21:08Speaker 2: to stitch stare at me the same way that guy
- 21:11Speaker 2: did and was like no, And I was like, oh,
- 21:13Speaker 2: come on, you guys, that's a solid place joke.
- 21:18Speaker 1: It really was quick question for everybody because we also
- 21:23Speaker 1: Jerry had found out that you can also take people's
- 21:26Speaker 1: ashes and turn them into a plant. That then your
- 21:29Speaker 1: task was taken care of and hopefully not killing. Yes,
- 21:33Speaker 1: oh you're aware of Oh of course you're aware of this.
- 21:34Speaker 1: That would be my option.
- 21:36Speaker 6: Who's in your house right now? It's me in the
- 21:40Speaker 6: form of a plant. Oh, well, there's Betty. That's the
- 21:47Speaker 6: plant the peacefully that was at my mother's funeral. Okay,
- 21:50Speaker 6: that survived the tornado. Oh, very impressive. Yeah, she had
- 21:54Speaker 6: a full grown catalpatry and a five time air conditioning
- 21:59Speaker 6: unit dropped on her. And when they uncovered everything, she
- 22:04Speaker 6: was still. She was beaten into the dirt, but she
- 22:06Speaker 6: was still green. So I nursed reecta.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Oh you're talking about the flowers still.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Oh you're talking about your mom.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Sorry, sorry, that's terrible. Okay. So so so let me
- 22:23Speaker 1: let me ask this, With all these new options of
- 22:29Speaker 1: what to do with your remains after you die, anyone changing,
- 22:32Speaker 1: are you still like, are you still doing straight burial?
- 22:35Speaker 1: Are you gonna cremate or are you gonna shoot yourself
- 22:37Speaker 1: into space? Or do you want to turn into a
- 22:39Speaker 1: lime tree? What's the deal? Tray?
- 22:42Speaker 4: Uh me, Now, I'm my wishes are be cremated.
- 22:48Speaker 3: Put daisy and eyes ashes together and spread them over
- 22:51Speaker 3: a sunny field like you need to.
- 22:55Speaker 1: You need to specify which field, because in North Texas,
- 22:58Speaker 1: a field today isn't a part a complex tomorrow.
- 23:02Speaker 4: A golf course.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Then oh yeah, there's the Highland Park.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Jerry, what about you? What do you want us to
- 23:11Speaker 1: do with your remains?
- 23:14Speaker 7: Uh?
- 23:14Speaker 6: You know, once I'm I'm cremated and it's over. You know,
- 23:18Speaker 6: I want to be cremated, and then I want folks
- 23:20Speaker 6: to come and I don't want there to be like
- 23:22Speaker 6: a sad, crying funeral.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Have my ashes in the.
- 23:25Speaker 6: Middle of somewhere and have just a big ass party,
- 23:29Speaker 6: crazy go nuts, and then.
- 23:32Speaker 1: After that, you know, I'm dead. I don't care what
- 23:34Speaker 1: you do with my ashes. Oh so, so you're okay
- 23:38Speaker 1: with a rave. Yes, I will literally dance on your ashes.
- 23:42Speaker 1: That is cool.
- 23:44Speaker 6: I mean being put into a plant would be nice,
- 23:46Speaker 6: and planted somewhere in like Arkansas or something like that
- 23:50Speaker 6: would be nice.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Raj, have you altered any of your No, I.
- 23:56Speaker 2: A plant, for sure. Cremated We're like again into Uh
- 24:02Speaker 2: we cremate, so cremate and then yeah, I can go
- 24:05Speaker 2: for I mean, I would like to be a pear
- 24:07Speaker 2: tree because I don't know pears. It's one of my
- 24:12Speaker 2: favorite fruit. But I mean if I can for the joke,
- 24:16Speaker 2: I mean, if I can be a walnut tree or whatever,
- 24:19Speaker 2: so I can just tell people to enjoy my nuts
- 24:23Speaker 2: every year. Just just remember to put my nuts in
- 24:26Speaker 2: your mouth.
- 24:27Speaker 1: I've already written that down, so that's gonna happen.
- 24:31Speaker 2: Like, what are you guys eating Roger's nuts? That's all
- 24:34Speaker 2: I want people to say for one. In the end,

- 27:10Speaker 1: that you're in morning and we're still finding some ways
- 27:13Speaker 1: to laugh. But there is one truly remarkable way that
- 27:16Speaker 1: will get anyone over a death, and that is, of
- 27:19Speaker 1: course Earthdays. It's tried and true, proven time and time again.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Today is Friday, September twenty seven, twenty twenty four. Birthdays.
- 27:32Speaker 1: Today Avril Levine turns forty. And while it's her birthday
- 27:36Speaker 1: to be celebrated, I would like to still continue celebrating
- 27:41Speaker 1: Deadpool and Wolverine, not because just that it's such a
- 27:45Speaker 1: fun movie, but it made it okay for all of
- 27:48Speaker 1: us to admit that we actually like Avril Levine. And
- 27:55Speaker 1: I will admit that I have downloaded the Deadpool and
- 27:57Speaker 1: Wolverine soundtrack, and I have driven down the toll way
- 28:02Speaker 1: the thing and along pretending I was an odd to
- 28:04Speaker 1: odyssey you know why, because it was a damn cold night.
- 28:08Speaker 1: That's why anyone else kind of feel that way about it.
- 28:14Speaker 1: It's like, kind I kind of feel like the soundtrack
- 28:17Speaker 1: to the movie in some ways was a test that
- 28:19Speaker 1: Ryan Reynolds and everyone that involved the movie was doing.
- 28:22Speaker 1: It's like, okay, let's take some of these songs that are,
- 28:25Speaker 1: for being honest, these are chick hits, and see if
- 28:28Speaker 1: we can make them cool. And by god, they did it. Absolutely.
- 28:31Speaker 1: That soundtrack is phenomenal.
- 28:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it was like high school for me. That was
- 28:37Speaker 2: like my high school college soundtrack. I was like, all right,
- 28:39Speaker 2: this is kind of kind of cool. I appreciated that askepot.
- 28:42Speaker 2: I was like, that's something you know that the new
- 28:45Speaker 2: generation can can pick.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Up on now, And look, I am guilty of this
- 28:49Speaker 1: all over the place. There's the when a song gets
- 28:54Speaker 1: attached to a movie that I really liked, Now the
- 28:58Speaker 1: song takes on a new meaning for me because now
- 29:00Speaker 1: I have a link to where I can like the
- 29:02Speaker 1: song either at all or more than when I originally
- 29:06Speaker 1: heard it. One of the best examples that I realized
- 29:09Speaker 1: this was all the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, and
- 29:12Speaker 1: that first Guardians of the Galaxy movie. That soundtrack was
- 29:15Speaker 1: so random into songs. I knew all the songs. I
- 29:18Speaker 1: wasn't crazy really about any of them. But then when
- 29:20Speaker 1: I saw the movie, I was like, my god, these
- 29:22Speaker 1: songs are awesome because I got to hear them in
- 29:24Speaker 1: an all new context. Same thing with Deadpool and Wolverine.
- 29:28Speaker 1: I watched that trailer so many times that when you know,
- 29:30Speaker 1: like a prayer came on the radio, I started getting
- 29:32Speaker 1: chills just because I was excited about the movie coming out.
- 29:36Speaker 2: Do you also feel the way that same way about
- 29:38Speaker 2: like with a team, so like you can like I
- 29:41Speaker 2: know you're a Rangers fan, like, so you can get
- 29:43Speaker 2: behind uh Creed. Nope.
- 29:46Speaker 1: I had to draw the line somewhere.
- 29:47Speaker 2: Okay, I'm so proud to call you my friend right now.
- 29:52Speaker 1: I do have standards, and the line that I will
- 29:57Speaker 1: not cross is I'm not going back and becoming a
- 29:59Speaker 1: creep fantas is not gonna happen.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Yeah, they're I mean they're on tour again. Like that's
- 30:04Speaker 2: what that That's what the World series did for Creed
- 30:07Speaker 2: because the Rangers made that their song that they're actually
- 30:10Speaker 2: touring again. If you look back about seven years ago,
- 30:14Speaker 2: you can watch t m Z and they catch Scott Snap,
- 30:16Speaker 2: the lead singer of Creed, on a ten speed bike
- 30:20Speaker 2: in a neighborhood in Florida. That he didn't live it.
- 30:23Speaker 1: Now he's on tour, He's back on stage living the
- 30:27Speaker 1: high life.
- 30:27Speaker 2: Ook.
- 30:28Speaker 1: It just goes to go ahead, Ray.
- 30:30Speaker 3: One of the funnier things was when I was doing
- 30:33Speaker 3: production at at iHeart and I had a voice a
- 30:37Speaker 3: promo for uh uh it Scott's stap that is doing
- 30:44Speaker 3: an appearance at a wal Mart and rock wall.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Doing doing an appearance or was he just getting off
- 30:54Speaker 2: work like.
- 30:57Speaker 1: They called it an appearance?
- 30:58Speaker 4: And Dan, You're You're song thing? Is that why you
- 31:00Speaker 4: love the crying Game?
- 31:08Speaker 1: I can one up you on this one. I don't
- 31:11Speaker 1: love that song because of the crying game. I loved
- 31:14Speaker 1: that song because they stuck at an ace Ventura. Other
- 31:21Speaker 1: birthdays today, Thank God for Jim Carrey. He got me
- 31:25Speaker 1: out of that hole just then. Other birthdays today. Lil
- 31:28Speaker 1: Wayne is forty two. Gwyneth Paltrow, the creator of the
- 31:33Speaker 1: Goop Empire, is fifty two today. From Color Me Bad.
- 31:38Speaker 1: Mark Calderon is fifty four today. Which one was he
- 31:44Speaker 1: hang on? Let me let me take a look at
- 31:45Speaker 1: his face here real quick to see which one he is.
- 31:48Speaker 1: It's the main dude, Okay, gotcha, yep, it's the front man.
- 31:54Speaker 2: If that's what you want to call him. They had
- 31:55Speaker 2: they had a George. They were all look alike, say,
- 31:57Speaker 2: like the Kenny g lookalike. They had a George Michael look.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Like they were. I don't think I knew that.
- 32:03Speaker 2: Yeah, if you yeah, if you go look a bit
- 32:05Speaker 2: back at the band, like, they they all look like
- 32:07Speaker 2: the if you were on the sunset, like on the
- 32:10Speaker 2: Hollywood Boulevard and you're walking down, like you know, you
- 32:12Speaker 2: can take a picture with Batman, you can take a
- 32:14Speaker 2: picture with Spider Man whatever, like these guys like you
- 32:17Speaker 2: can take a picture with Kenny g and and George Michael.
- 32:20Speaker 7: Uh.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Yeah, they all looked like somebody else, which I thought
- 32:26Speaker 2: was fantastic. And they were also in an episode of
- 32:28Speaker 2: nine O two and oh.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Just oh yeah, yeah, Well that's how you knew they're
- 32:31Speaker 1: how big they were all? Right? So then Mark calder
- 32:33Speaker 1: On the front man for Color Me Bad? Who is
- 32:36Speaker 1: he the doppel ganger of uh?
- 32:38Speaker 2: I think that's why he stood out is he didn't
- 32:41Speaker 2: look like anybody else. Like everybody else there was a
- 32:44Speaker 2: Kenny G. There's a guy with the yeah, and then
- 32:46Speaker 2: there was the guy with the five o'clock shadow and
- 32:50Speaker 2: the perfect hair with the highlights, and that's the George
- 32:53Speaker 2: Michael guy. Uh so, yeah, I don't remember.
- 32:56Speaker 1: I think the guy you're talking about that was a
- 32:57Speaker 1: George Michael guy. That's the guy whose birthday it is.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Ah see, that's what he is, not the front man
- 33:03Speaker 2: I thought he was, then he was not. It was
- 33:05Speaker 2: just one of the one of the one of the
- 33:08Speaker 2: one of the bads.
- 33:09Speaker 1: I never really so this is all Randow information to me.
- 33:12Speaker 1: I didn't know that all the guys in Color Me
- 33:15Speaker 1: Bad were cheap knockoffs of other stars and therefore capitalizing
- 33:20Speaker 1: on the likeness of other people.
- 33:25Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean that was a time when Kenny G
- 33:27Speaker 2: was uh kind of at his peak, like his uh
- 33:29Speaker 2: he was still he was cool, uh and George Michael
- 33:33Speaker 2: was still Jordan.
- 33:34Speaker 1: You're getting a serious vulcan eyebrow from the tray there.
- 33:38Speaker 2: I I did a bro nod with Kenny G at
- 33:41Speaker 2: an airport.
- 33:42Speaker 1: Uh.
- 33:42Speaker 2: It was one of the highlights of that week for me.
- 33:45Speaker 1: Demand on that story whatsoever, just leave it as a
- 33:47Speaker 1: perfect i'd are you Kenny g is far cooler now
- 33:50Speaker 1: that he was back then. I agree with Trey there, Yeah,
- 33:53Speaker 1: he's he's he's kind of reached a cult status now.
- 33:56Speaker 1: The thing I'm left wondering in the thing I'm left
- 33:59Speaker 1: wondering is, uh, if the color be bad, guys all
- 34:03Speaker 1: resembled other singers and artists, what about us? Because there's
- 34:07Speaker 1: four of us? So I mean, like, I guess Jerry.
- 34:10Speaker 2: Could be like Michael Bolton.
- 34:12Speaker 1: That's what I was gonna say, is Michael Bolton. Okay,
- 34:15Speaker 1: I'll take that.
- 34:15Speaker 4: Uh Huh.
- 34:16Speaker 1: Trey's got a couple. He looks a little like Ted Cruz,
- 34:18Speaker 1: a little bit like Grandpa Munster. Although with the eyebrow
- 34:22Speaker 1: you just did, you look like Leonard Nemo. See there
- 34:24Speaker 1: it is spot Yeah. Uh. Roger is obviously cal Pin
- 34:30Speaker 1: and I obviously have no idea what I am am.
- 34:32Speaker 1: I like Dumpster Fire, Ben Affle, I have no I
- 34:35Speaker 1: don't think I look like anybody.
- 34:37Speaker 2: No, you could you could be our? Uh, Matt Damon,
- 34:40Speaker 2: you could be our because he he's a fit guy.
- 34:44Speaker 7: Uh.
- 34:45Speaker 2: You got the short hair just like the same that
- 34:47Speaker 2: you guys don't know have. He doesn't have facial hair.
- 34:49Speaker 2: But I would go Uh, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.
- 34:52Speaker 2: Uh love child, I'll take that. Yeah.
- 34:55Speaker 1: I mean if I if we want to reboot my
- 34:57Speaker 1: two dads.
- 34:57Speaker 2: I'm in. You'll be Matt Affleck, Ben Damon.
- 35:13Speaker 1: No, I like Matt Affleck. I think I've got a
- 35:15Speaker 1: nice bring to it. You're listening to the Treehouse. Visit

- 35:42Speaker 1: Plumbing Texas dot com. When I had my house in Dallas, Jaqueline,
- 35:46Speaker 1: you came out a few times to help us with
- 35:48Speaker 1: some issues, and your response time was phenomenal. And it
- 35:52Speaker 1: wasn't just because it was me. It was because that's
- 35:55Speaker 1: the kind of company you run. You go out of
- 35:57Speaker 1: your way trying to help every client and try to
- 36:00Speaker 1: get there as soon as you can.
- 36:01Speaker 7: Well, I mean the reality of it is is that
- 36:03Speaker 7: plumbing is unfortunately a need and not so much a want. Yes,
- 36:07Speaker 7: you can want to remodel the bathroom, and that's not
- 36:10Speaker 7: pressing but typically when it comes to service or leak investigations,

- 37:50Speaker 1: news stories to leave you with as we reach the
- 37:52Speaker 1: end of the week inside the Treehouse. And when I
- 37:56Speaker 1: say important to you, I really mean important to me
- 37:58Speaker 1: because this story terrified me when I read the headline.
- 38:02Speaker 1: A shark that can live for five hundred years has
- 38:06Speaker 1: been found in the Caribbean. Researchers working in Caribbean waters
- 38:12Speaker 1: got the shock of a lifetime after coming across a
- 38:14Speaker 1: rare shark very far from home. The shark is four
- 38:20Speaker 1: thousand miles away from where researchers believe it is supposed
- 38:25Speaker 1: to be. Students from Florida International University had partnered with
- 38:29Speaker 1: local fishermen off the coast of Belize. Their mission was
- 38:33Speaker 1: to find and tag tiger sharks, which are extremely dangerous. However,
- 38:37Speaker 1: they discovered something far more impressive and unusual. A large
- 38:40Speaker 1: shark got hung up on the end of the fishing lines.
- 38:43Speaker 1: It was not a tiger shark, and it did not
- 38:45Speaker 1: look like any species the students or fishermen had ever seen.
- 38:49Speaker 1: One of the students snapped a quick photo to consult
- 38:52Speaker 1: with their advisor, and the advisor immediately recognized it and said,
- 38:58Speaker 1: you know what this looks. It's like a greenland shark,
- 39:01Speaker 1: and subsequently received confirmation from experts other experts on the
- 39:05Speaker 1: elusive animal. Now, two things made this spotting so unusual. First,
- 39:09Speaker 1: that this shark species lives in Arctic waters, which are
- 39:13Speaker 1: roughly four thousand miles north of Belize. The other is
- 39:16Speaker 1: that this shark species is ancient and half blind. Scientists
- 39:21Speaker 1: who study greenland sharks estimate that they are two hundred
- 39:25Speaker 1: and fifty to five hundred years old. So a five
- 39:29Speaker 1: hundred year old half blind shark is lost in the
- 39:33Speaker 1: Caribbean at that age, I can understand why. Yeah, there's
- 39:39Speaker 1: but when you see when you see this particular shark,
- 39:43Speaker 1: I think you'll understand why as well. So if you
- 39:47Speaker 1: would please feast your eyes on the greenland shark which
- 39:51Speaker 1: has been spotted in Caribbean waters. Is it just me
- 39:58Speaker 1: or does that look a little dirty for a shark?
- 40:04Speaker 2: Well, people look different five hundred years ago.
- 40:07Speaker 1: Right, Maybe that's just the face of an animal that seems.
- 40:13Speaker 4: Some version, Yeah, like the shark version of fat guy
- 40:21Speaker 4: in a little coat.
- 40:24Speaker 1: It really is, because when you see his fins, like
- 40:26Speaker 1: they look really small for that bulbous body and just
- 40:29Speaker 1: unimpressed face, that's gotta be an evolutionary thing, you know.
- 40:33Speaker 1: It's like, oh, look, how cute that is?
- 40:38Speaker 2: He just yeah, he's lost. He can't he can't swim back.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Like if you jump in the water and you see
- 40:46Speaker 1: this shark coming at you, you're not afraid because we're
- 40:50Speaker 1: used to thinking that, oh my god, when you see
- 40:52Speaker 1: a shark, it's gonna look like Jaws. And in this case,
- 40:55Speaker 1: you're not getting Jaws. We're getting Jaws's special cousin. Right,
- 40:59Speaker 1: you think torpedo with teeth. This looks like a manatee.
- 41:03Speaker 1: He just can't turn around, and that's how he ended
- 41:08Speaker 1: up in the Caribbean.
- 41:09Speaker 2: Please, It's like can somebody like he's one of those guys, like, hey,
- 41:12Speaker 2: can you turn me around and push me that way?
- 41:15Speaker 1: Or maybe go ahead, Jared. Maybe this is the old
- 41:19Speaker 1: shark version of moving to Florida. I think I think
- 41:24Speaker 1: that's accurate because it's said that this type of shark
- 41:26Speaker 1: is also half blind. So I mean, you're five hundred
- 41:29Speaker 1: years old, you're half blind. You you you leave home
- 41:32Speaker 1: with Arctic waters and you basically just nose bumped the
- 41:36Speaker 1: entire Eastern seaboard until you end up in warmer waters.
- 41:41Speaker 1: And that's the face you're going to get there.
- 41:43Speaker 2: I hear Belieze is nice this time of year. He's
- 41:51Speaker 2: that sharkause like you will see one day. One day,
- 41:53Speaker 2: I'm gonna leave these Arctic waters and I'm gonna go
- 41:56Speaker 2: somewhere warm, Like sure.
- 41:57Speaker 3: You are, Doug, Sure, okay, he said, nose bump is
- 42:02Speaker 3: laid down the Eastern Maybe got some of that cocaine.
- 42:05Speaker 4: He just kept on trucking.
- 42:08Speaker 1: Probably why he's been alive for five hundred years is
- 42:10Speaker 1: kept motivated.
- 42:12Speaker 2: He's going to the source in Belize. He got a
- 42:17Speaker 2: taste in Miami. Is going to where it's made.
- 42:21Speaker 1: I think he's on a worldwide adventure. You get enough
- 42:24Speaker 1: of that cocaine in the Caribbean, up your shark nose
- 42:27Speaker 1: and yeah, you're gonna you're gonna be the Magellan of sharks.
- 42:30Speaker 1: Is this gonna be the next big movie franchise cocaine? Well, yeah,
- 42:34Speaker 1: I mean that's that's the goal.
- 42:36Speaker 2: Right. Hey man, you do cocaine for five hundred years,
- 42:38Speaker 2: you're gonna go half blind. I'm sure. I'm sure that's it.
- 42:41Speaker 1: And you're also probably gonna have that very unimpressed look
- 42:44Speaker 1: on your face because you've seen some done some things.
- 42:50Speaker 4: Yeah, you do blow for five hundred years, See how
- 42:52Speaker 4: you look?
- 43:01Speaker 1: Didn't Yoda say something like that? And Revenge of the Jedi.
- 43:07Speaker 1: When nine hundred year olds you become.
- 43:11Speaker 2: All right?
- 43:12Speaker 1: Thanks hanging out with us inside the Treehouse today. If
- 43:14Speaker 1: you see a five hundred year old shark in the water,
- 43:17Speaker 1: just say hey, Doug. We will see you at Shaker
- 43:20Speaker 1: Ten's this afternoon in Arlington five to seven pm for
- 43:23Speaker 1: the Treehouse Roadshow. Have a wonderful Friday until we see
- 43:27Speaker 1: you there.
