Speaker 4: hiring business, uh, business owners, you know, people who are
• 2:45

• 4:06
Speaker 4: all right, you want to jump into it? Yes, close
• 4:08
Speaker 4: up me, I start yep. All right, here it is.
• 4:13
Speaker 4: In my younger years, I worked for a bank, not
• 4:18
Speaker 4: in a great location, but that's not important to the story.
• 4:21
Speaker 4: I was there long enough for three managers to come
• 4:24
Speaker 4: and go, and the third and final manager I worked
• 4:27
Speaker 4: under was terrible. He was transferred to the branch to
• 4:32
Speaker 4: clean up as we had already failed two audits. So
• 4:37
Speaker 4: let's call this manager Joe. Joe had a knack of
• 4:41
Speaker 4: showing up disheveled, riding on three or four hours of sleep,
• 4:45
Speaker 4: chugging five hour energy shots all day and just overall
• 4:48
Speaker 4: making sure we all knew he hated the opening shifts
• 4:53
Speaker 4: his day to day. His day to day consisted of
• 4:56
Speaker 4: hanging out in his office and only popping out when
• 4:58
Speaker 4: an attractive lamp and stop did so. How he would
• 5:02
Speaker 4: find his way up behind the teller line taking over
• 5:05
Speaker 4: a transaction we were already processing. This man would fold
• 5:10
Speaker 4: this uh, this man would fold and offer everything under
• 5:13
Speaker 4: the sun to these women waving fees, processing refunds. On
• 5:17
Speaker 4: one occasion, I had to go physically ask him to
• 5:19
Speaker 4: override a system message for me to complete a transaction,
• 5:22
Speaker 4: as my previous attempts were met with hold on or
• 5:26
Speaker 4: just a minute, wait a second. No surprise to anyone.
• 5:29
Speaker 4: He was helping another good looking lady that makes me
• 5:33
Speaker 4: so uncomfortable through a class acts people coming in to
• 5:39
Speaker 4: the pig, and you just see this guy jump out,
• 5:40
Speaker 4: come rolling out the land the counter. You just had
• 5:43
Speaker 4: to be like, I mean, that's gotta be terrible, yeah, right.
• 5:46
Speaker 4: When he finally made it over to my window, he
• 5:49
Speaker 4: processed the override and waved off our customer. This man
• 5:54
Speaker 4: physically grabbed my forearm and twisted it, gritting his teeth,
• 5:59
Speaker 4: advising never interrupt him again. Okay, fast forward a few months.
• 6:04
Speaker 1: Wait was this who was?
• 6:07
  Speaker 6: So?
• 6:07
Speaker 2: Apparently he's doing is he's doing? You know, he's shooting
• 6:10
  Speaker 2: the many shots.
• 6:11
Speaker 4: He tries all too long.
• 6:13
Speaker 5: And he comes and she's trying to get his attention
• 6:16
Speaker 5: behind to tell her because she needs something undone, she
• 6:19
Speaker 5: needs an override code, and so she she interrupts him
• 6:23
Speaker 5: to let him know.
• 6:24
Speaker 4: And then after he handles the the good looking woman transaction,
• 6:29
Speaker 4: he comes over to her and grabs her by her wrist.
• 6:33
Speaker 1: So another woman, what he twisted?
• 6:37
Speaker 4: Another woman? It's the woman telling the story. Oh, so
• 6:42
Speaker 4: she's saying, she she went over to him. She's asking him, right,
• 6:47
Speaker 4: she asked him to do this override, but he was
• 6:48
Speaker 4: already talking to this good looking uh, this good looking customer.
• 6:52
Speaker 4: So when that's over, he comes over to her and
• 6:55
Speaker 4: snatches her wrist up and gives her a tight squeeze
• 6:58
Speaker 4: and a twist that makes sure she knows don't ever
• 7:01
Speaker 4: interrupt immediately. Not the Emperor's groove.
• 7:05
Speaker 1: Emil, what would you do him?
• 7:08
Speaker 3: Would you just drop him?
• 7:11
Speaker 2: I know what you would do?
• 7:13
Speaker 1: Well what I do?
• 7:14
Speaker 4: I know what you would do? You do you know
• 7:18
Speaker 4: how you down nine to one one you would be.
• 7:21
  Speaker 1: Like darling one.
• 7:22
Speaker 4: No no, no, no, I didn't say that. You would
• 7:23
  Speaker 4: be U d A D.
• 7:26
Speaker 1: Yes, I would be yup would be doing that. D
• 7:29
Speaker 1: D absolutely would be doing that.
• 7:33
Speaker 4: Uh Dad that this man just put his hand on me.
• 7:36
Speaker 4: I feel sorry for unreal adult. Never interrupt me again,
• 7:43
Speaker 4: he says. Fast forward a few months, and all these
• 7:45
Speaker 4: freebies caught up to him, Joe found out. So he's
• 7:47
Speaker 4: given all these ladies freebies. Fast forward a few months.
• 7:50
Speaker 4: All these freebies caught up him. Joe founded found out
• 7:53
Speaker 4: somehow that he was being fired, and instead of waiting
• 7:57
Speaker 4: as one would as one would to kind of accept
• 8:00
Speaker 4: their fate when they're going to get fired, he just
• 8:02
  Speaker 4: walked up.
• 8:03
Speaker 2: He just left. None of us knew where he went
• 8:06
  Speaker 2: or why.
• 8:07
Speaker 4: What we did know is that the market director showed up,
• 8:11
Speaker 4: only to ask where he had gone off to. So
• 8:15
Speaker 4: market director shows up, ask him where he's at. Come
• 8:17
Speaker 4: to find out, he scurried off to the branch up
• 8:20
Speaker 4: the road to cozy up with the manager there. I
• 8:22
Speaker 4: never knew how that panned out. I was leaving for
• 8:25
Speaker 4: the day after that, someone said the market I was
• 8:28
Speaker 4: leaving for the day after after that, and someone said
• 8:31
Speaker 4: the market director yelled into the phone that he needed
• 8:34
Speaker 4: to come back to the branch immediately.
• 8:37
Speaker 1: So wait, so he assumed he was going to get fired,
• 8:41
Speaker 1: and he just walked out of the building.
• 8:42
Speaker 2: I guess, so just walks.
• 8:43
Speaker 4: Up this walks up to another branch.
• 8:46
Speaker 1: I'm I done. I'm sure this is it for them.
• 8:50
Speaker 1: I guess I'll just go down.
• 8:52
Speaker 4: I'm about to get fired.
• 8:54
Speaker 2: I'm gonna head up with this other brand see if
• 8:56
Speaker 2: i can get a manager up there.
• 8:57
Speaker 1: But certainly I've done enough.
• 8:59
Speaker 4: That'll give me a an out until i'll take him. Yeah,
• 9:02
Speaker 4: I'm real. Oh gosh, never mind.
• 9:10
  Speaker 1: I was gonna say something, but I don't think I'm
• 9:12
Speaker 1: going to say it.
• 9:16
Speaker 4: I don't think I will not say it. I'm good, Yeah,
• 9:20
  Speaker 4: I know, I I uh, you know his this guy's
• 9:23
Speaker 4: driver man was like like like I don't know, he's
• 9:28
Speaker 4: running that like it was some type of dating scene
• 9:30
  Speaker 4: for him.
• 9:30
Speaker 2: You know, It's like.
• 9:33
Speaker 1: That just it just makes me really uncomfortable.
• 9:36
Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm with you.
• 9:39
Speaker 4: I'm right sure, Joe. Yeah, I would tell you if
• 9:49
Speaker 4: some if this one of my one of my employees
• 9:52
Speaker 4: grabbed on that drone, if one of my male employees
• 9:54
Speaker 4: grab one of my female buoys by the arm like that.

• 10:59
Speaker 1: This is the this is Matt. I think Nathan met
• 11:01
  Speaker 1: with her?
• 11:02
Speaker 4: Okay, great, but yeah, all right, all right, Matt, let's
• 11:05
  Speaker 4: let's here.
• 11:05
  Speaker 2: Let's hear it.
• 11:06
Speaker 6: We heard a young lady as a clerk leave.
• 11:08
Speaker 7: She was in her late twice and she was great.
• 11:10
Speaker 7: She was a hard worker. She was dependable. She picked
• 11:13
Speaker 7: everything up really fast. So a year or so into
• 11:15
Speaker 7: her tenure and she ends up pregnant. But towards the
• 11:18
Speaker 7: end of her pregnancy, she decided she wasn't going to
• 11:21
Speaker 7: take a fraternity lead. She was just going to be
• 11:23
Speaker 7: stay at home mom. So she had a younger sister
• 11:26
Speaker 7: that happened to be looking for job at the same time.
• 11:28
Speaker 6: It seemed like her to timing for us, and it
• 11:30
Speaker 6: just worked out well, so we brought her in with
• 11:32
Speaker 6: her beer hire. She seemed to have been on the
• 11:34
Speaker 6: shy side, but her sister kind of smarted got flight
• 11:36
Speaker 6: as well, so that not a big deal. But now
• 11:38
Speaker 6: as she's going, I believe she's there two or three
• 11:41
Speaker 6: months and she's learning. She's not quite catching on like
• 11:44
Speaker 6: we'd like. So you know, she're going and we're working
• 11:46
Speaker 6: with her. But then one day a police officer shows
• 11:48
Speaker 6: up and it just comes in he asked for and uh,
• 11:51
Speaker 6: they go, they talking back for a minute, they come out,
• 11:54
  Speaker 6: she's upset.
• 11:54
Speaker 2: They walk out to the.
• 11:55
Speaker 7: Fartylat and they risked her and come to find out.
• 11:58
Speaker 6: So she was working as an office clerk taking payments
• 12:00
Speaker 6: and apparently she had wrapped down a customer's hard information
• 12:04
Speaker 6: and then used it to her car payment and.
• 12:07
Speaker 3: Then got rice back pretty quickly.
• 12:09
Speaker 1: How stupid can you?
• 12:11
Speaker 2: Forgot her money back?
• 12:12
Speaker 6: Everything fine, but she had to be terminated.
• 12:14
Speaker 1: That did you think was gonna happen?
• 12:18
Speaker 2: Holdly? Never get this right?
• 12:21
Speaker 4: I mean, I write down your credit card iforge and
• 12:24
Speaker 4: then I go, I go pay my I go pay
• 12:28
Speaker 4: my car payment. But where did it get was going
• 12:33
Speaker 4: to happen? Which is this crazy charge? Was the hard
• 12:37
  Speaker 4: hard it's a car payment?
• 12:41
Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, you gotta really be going through it to
• 12:45
Speaker 3: get that desperate to real like that for real?
• 12:49
Speaker 1: I mean I get it. Times are tough, but I mean,
• 12:55
Speaker 1: what be smarter? Yeah?
• 12:58
Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I I hate that they probably.
• 13:03
  Speaker 2: I don't know.
• 13:04
  Speaker 1: I don't feel i'mn't feel bash because I imagine imagine
• 13:08
Speaker 1: the first woman who's like, now I stay at home
• 13:11
Speaker 1: on or whatever. She's like, dang, I hated my sister
• 13:13
Speaker 1: off of these people, and she just stole from them
• 13:16
  Speaker 1: like she.
• 13:17
Speaker 4: Had to know her sister.
• 13:18
Speaker 3: We were kind of wild maybe so.
• 13:20
Speaker 1: Maybe so, Well, she's your problem.
• 13:24
  Speaker 2: Now.
• 13:24
Speaker 4: Whatever what do you got?
• 13:27
  Speaker 2: Emma?
• 13:27
Speaker 1: Me? Okay, I just have one today, let me find it. Okay,
• 13:36
Speaker 1: here we go I'm just sorry the MIC's in the way.
• 13:39
Speaker 1: So buddy of mine works at a mid sized finance firm,
• 13:42
Speaker 1: open floor plan analysts pulled the whole setup. They bring
• 13:45
Speaker 1: on a new hire. We're gonna call him Dylan, who
• 13:48
Speaker 1: starts on a Monday, and by Tuesday at lunch is
• 13:51
Speaker 1: already across the street at the cafe with a couple
• 13:52
Speaker 1: of his new coworkers. By all accounts, Dylan is in
• 13:56
Speaker 1: great spirits. He's talking loudly about how hilarious it is
• 14:00
Speaker 1: that he got the job at all, because most of
• 14:02
Speaker 1: what's on his resume is completely made up, and he's
• 14:07
Speaker 1: not being vague about it. He's listening out one by
• 14:10
Speaker 1: lunch Yeah for real, Yeah, he was definitely reading up
• 14:14
Speaker 1: on that one thread. The certification fake, the previous role
• 14:19
Speaker 1: never happened, The big project he claimed to have led
• 14:22
Speaker 1: wasn't even at his old company. He's laughing, His coworkers
• 14:26
Speaker 1: are laughing. It's a whole moment. But what Dylan did
• 14:29
Speaker 1: not know is that his boss is sitting in the
• 14:31
Speaker 1: booth directly bye way.
• 14:36
Speaker 4: So he's at lunch. Is that what's happening? Yeah, he's
• 14:39
Speaker 4: at lunch with at lunch, I guess he goes. So
• 14:42
  Speaker 4: he started on.
• 14:43
Speaker 1: Monday, and then the next day he's already like made
• 14:45
Speaker 1: friends or whatever. So they go out to lunch the
• 14:47
Speaker 1: second day and he's already.
• 14:48
Speaker 3: Just spilling and the boss is sitting in the booth
• 14:51
  Speaker 3: next to him.
• 14:51
Speaker 1: Yeah, he just happens to be there, but he doesn't
• 14:53
Speaker 1: see him at first. The boss doesn't say a word,
• 14:56
Speaker 1: he just sits there, He finishes his sandwich, he pays,
• 14:59
Speaker 1: walks by to the office, and when Dylan returns from
• 15:02
Speaker 1: lunch about fifteen minutes later, his desk has already been
• 15:04
Speaker 1: clear down. It's a total tenure, approximately twenty eight hours.
• 15:10
Speaker 4: And that was the end of doing not not totally
• 15:13
Speaker 4: a first dy flame out.
• 15:14
  Speaker 2: But pretty close.
• 15:14
  Speaker 1: Yeah, pretty close.
• 15:15
Speaker 4: I mean we have a lot of stories to do that,
• 15:17
Speaker 4: like him make all that up.
• 15:18
  Speaker 2: You know that.
• 15:19
  Speaker 4: I don't get the I don't get the uh, the
• 15:22
Speaker 4: bragging about it like the next day.
• 15:25
Speaker 1: I don't get bragging about it at all.
• 15:27
Speaker 4: Really, But what do I know?
• 15:29
Speaker 3: Yeah, that you take to your grave.
• 15:30
Speaker 2: Yeah, I can't believe you guys let me in. Yes,
• 15:33
Speaker 2: not if it's crazy.

Speaker 4: I'm how did you guys skate here?
• 15:36
  Speaker 1: Because I don't know how I got here you're looking.
• 15:39
Speaker 4: Around everybody going everybody probably lied.
• 15:41
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, like I'm sure somebody could somebody else could relate.
• 15:46
  Speaker 2: I don't know.
• 15:47
Speaker 4: He saved this all the time. I just did a dish,
• 15:49
Speaker 4: did a piece of content. The other day we did
• 15:50
Speaker 4: the U the radio check that lad on his resume
• 15:55
Speaker 4: and made it all the way to the c and
• 15:57
Speaker 4: he was actually crushing it as a CEO. And you know,
• 16:01
Speaker 4: got a couple of Duy's. Somebody started investigating.
• 16:03
  Speaker 3: Boom.
• 16:04
Speaker 4: You know, he's got to he loses his job over.
• 16:07
Speaker 4: You know, he probably wouldn't have gotten the job, to
• 16:10
Speaker 4: be honest, because you know, everybody was said, well he
• 16:12
Speaker 4: doesn't have a degree, but he was given an opportunity
• 16:14
Speaker 4: and he worked his way up.
• 16:16
Speaker 2: You know. I hate that. And then yeah, yeah, you mentioned.
• 16:19
Speaker 3: Like what do they do when they're presented with something
• 16:21
Speaker 3: and it's not in their willhouse, They don't know what
• 16:24
Speaker 3: to do or how to do it?
• 16:25
Speaker 4: Yeah, Chad gpt I guess, yeah, what do we do it?
• 16:31
  Speaker 2: Yeah?
• 16:31
Speaker 1: Well, yeah, that story sounds kind of similar to Kari's does.
• 16:37
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, all right, tell me about it. Ky.
• 16:38
Speaker 3: All right, So this one isn't from Reddie.
• 16:40
Speaker 4: This is actually a real news story.
• 16:42
Speaker 3: Okay, one of the best examples of resumes fraud I've
• 16:45
  Speaker 3: ever heard.
• 16:46
  Speaker 2: So.
• 16:46
Speaker 3: Merrily Jones was the dean of admissions at m I T,
• 16:50
Speaker 3: not a dean at some regional school, the m I T.
• 16:54
Speaker 3: She was genuinely famous in her field, the kind of
• 16:57
Speaker 3: person who got quoted in The New York Times by
• 16:59
Speaker 3: first name. She co wrote a book telling high school
• 17:02
Speaker 3: is to stop patting their resumes, relax, and just be authentic.
• 17:07
Speaker 3: She gave commencement speeches about honesty. She was, for all
• 17:10
Speaker 3: intents and purposes, the face of academic integrity and college admissions.
• 17:15
Speaker 3: She had been at MIT for twenty eight years when
• 17:18
Speaker 3: in two thousand and seven, someone sent in an anonymous
• 17:21
Speaker 3: tip suggesting that they take a closer look at her
• 17:24
  Speaker 3: credentials their sister.
• 17:26
  Speaker 2: So they did.
• 17:29
Speaker 3: So they did. Marily Jones had listed degrees from three
• 17:33
Speaker 3: different schools on her original nineteen seventy nine application. She
• 17:37
Speaker 3: had attended one of them briefly and had not graduated.
• 17:41
Speaker 3: The other two she had never enrolled in at all,
• 17:44
Speaker 3: not for a single day. She didn't have one legitimate
• 17:47
Speaker 3: degree on her resume, not one. MIT confronted her, and
• 17:51
Speaker 3: she resigned within forty eight hours, twenty eight years at
• 17:55
Speaker 3: one of the most prestigious institutions in the world, a
• 17:58
Speaker 3: career built entirely on dident so she made up in
• 18:01
Speaker 3: nineteen seventy nine and never bothered to update. The most
• 18:04
Speaker 3: cited admissions dean in the country, the woman who builds
• 18:08
Speaker 3: a career telling kids to stop lying on their applications.
• 18:13
Speaker 1: I want to know why it took the one person
• 18:16
Speaker 1: twenty eight years to send in the anonymous thing, like
• 18:20
Speaker 1: it's been this long. I want her, I want her
• 18:24
Speaker 1: to go down now.
• 18:26
Speaker 3: I admire that's a long time to hate on someone.
• 18:28
Speaker 4: Yeah, supply to play on.
• 18:30
Speaker 1: Her downfall for that long. That was not a crazy thing,
• 18:33
  Speaker 1: was she?
• 18:33
Speaker 4: What's crazy? When I was listening to that is like
• 18:35
Speaker 4: she was like projecting right the whole time, is like
• 18:39
Speaker 4: she you know, she feels like it's deep in it,
• 18:43
Speaker 4: deep in you, that you're just an utter liar to
• 18:45
  Speaker 4: get here.
• 18:46
  Speaker 2: Yep y.
• 18:46
Speaker 4: So then you become the mouthpiece for integrity, you know.
• 18:52
Speaker 4: And I could only think that that's done in a
• 18:54
Speaker 4: way to try to like direct people away. Don't look
• 18:57
Speaker 4: at me if I'm talking about do all these things
• 18:59
Speaker 4: do it this way? Yeah, it's got to be like,
• 19:02
Speaker 4: because you know, I don't want you to look at me,
• 19:06
Speaker 4: so you're just like super projecting.
• 19:08
Speaker 1: And yeah, another thing I wonder is, if she was
• 19:12
Speaker 1: working at this esteemed like institution, why didn't they double
• 19:17
Speaker 1: check SHEU will check her credentials too. Don't like I
• 19:21
Speaker 1: feel like they I feel like they should have done that.
• 19:23
  Speaker 1: That's a great point, but I mean, yeah, I was
• 19:26
Speaker 1: just about to say, yeah, I mean, it's been a
• 19:28
Speaker 1: long time, I guess, but I mean, I mean people
• 19:34
Speaker 1: have been lying for however long. So I feel like,
• 19:38
Speaker 1: you like, just because it was twenty eight years ago,
• 19:40
Speaker 1: doesn't me she's just as trustworthy as she was. But whatever.
• 19:43
Speaker 3: Just imagine she's like disciplining someone committed fraud on their resume.
• 19:49
Speaker 2: She's like, how dare you?
• 19:51
Speaker 1: How dare you? Did you even read my book? I didn't.
• 19:56
  Speaker 4: Here's a dot, here's a god. Let me sign up
• 20:00
Speaker 4: for you to read my book.
• 20:06
  Speaker 6: M hm
• 20:09
  Speaker 4: M hmm.
