  [SPEAKER_00]: our ministry and it's beginning, it's Genesis, to the single most important inanimate object, it would have to be a since lost first draft of an article titled The New Birth.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You see, Dr. Paul, I found her way way back in the 30s.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He was asked to write a gospel plea for an evangelistic publication, and he did so, and it was popular.

  [SPEAKER_00]: His article was, people began clipping it out of that magazine and sending it to lost family members and friends.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They contacted Dr. Paul.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And asked him, would you print that for us?

  [SPEAKER_00]: We'd like it as a gospel track, and he said, yes.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And he endeavored, now we still endeavored, eight plus decades later, to print these gospel tracks we're free.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I've got one framed in my office titled The New Birth, it's got that beautiful purple cover on it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We should do some nostalgic throwback gospel tracks.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It hasn't changed.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The wording has not, and I'd like you to encourage you if you don't know Christ as your Savior today might be the devil's salvation.

  [SPEAKER_00]: This might be the next most important 12 minutes of your life, as you hear about what the new birth is.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But if you are a Christian, you know Christ as your Savior, maybe you would use this gospel tract.

  [SPEAKER_00]: John Wesley was asked why he preached so often on, he must be born again.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He answered, simply, because he must be born again.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Have you been born again?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Without the new birth, you have no hope of escaping the terrors of hell, or enjoying the glories of heaven.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Lord Jesus said, he must be born again.

  [SPEAKER_00]: What is the new birth, though?

  [SPEAKER_00]: And what is it not?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Well, number one, it is not religion.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Nicodemus, and the book of John was a Pharisee, a very strict religionist.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He celebrated the Passover, paid tithes, said prayers, brought sacrifices, tried to keep the law.

  [SPEAKER_00]: To him, the Lord Jesus said, you must be born again.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Law, keeping, joining a church, being baptized, or living up to a religious creed will not save you.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There will be many in hell who did all of these things.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Will you?

  [SPEAKER_00]: You must be one again.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Number two.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The new birth is not morality.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You may try to keep the golden rule, pay your bills, be a good neighbor, stay out of jail,

  [SPEAKER_00]: live a clean, moral life.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But that won't save you.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It is not recorded that our Lord said you must be born again to cowardly, vacillating pilot or to two-faced hypocritical Judas.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Why?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Because you would say, I know miserable hypocrites like Judas and men like pilot need to be born again, but I'm not like them.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't betray Christ with a kiss after professing to be his friend.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't order Jesus to be beaten and turn him over to a howling bloodthirsty mob

  [SPEAKER_00]: Gangsters, thugs, adulterers, liars, drunkards, gamblers, they all need to be born again.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But not I, I'm all right.

  [SPEAKER_00]: My friend, do you realize that God's son spoke these words on the new birth to a man who was doing his dead level best to gain heaven?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Without a doubt, Nicodemus was neither a crook, drunkard nor gambler.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He was a true husband, a good neighbor, a man of clean morals, and religious.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If he needed to be born again, so do you.
• 4:48
  [SPEAKER_00]: How do you expect to make it a heaven without being born again if Nicodemus couldn't?

  [SPEAKER_00]: The new birth is also not reformation.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Even if you quit all your meanness, that would not be the new birth.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Your trouble is not on the outside but the inside.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You don't need X to your decoration but interior regeneration.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Satan wants you to rest in a false peace.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We warn you, I warn you, in Jesus's name don't be satisfied unless you've been born again.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Alright, what is the new birth?

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's a mystery you cannot explain, but a reality no man can explain away.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The wind bloweth where it lesteth, the meaning pleaseth.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell when sick comeeth, and whether it goeth.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So is everyone that is born of the Spirit, John 38.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Just as Nicodemus could not understand or explain the wind, so no man can understand or explain the new birth.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But the wind is a reality, no man can explain away.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Only a fool would say, I don't believe in the wind because I have never seen it and can't understand it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You know how the wind moves, the big limbs of an oak, watch the wind tear a house to splinters.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You can't deny the reality of wind.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You also can't see the Holy Spirit.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You can't explain them.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But see his mighty power make the harlot pure, the liar honest, the drunkard's sober, the blasphemer prey, and then try to deny the reality of the Holy Spirit.

  [SPEAKER_00]: What is the new birth?

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's a work of God by which a poor, lost guilty, hell-deserving sinner who receives a Lord Jesus receives a new nature, becomes a child of God, and begins a new life.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's a second birth, a spiritual birth, physical life begins with a birth, spiritual life begins the same way, not by joining a church and becoming religious.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You cannot join the family of God, you must be born into it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Someone once said you can't make a Christian out of anybody true Christians aren't made they're born Birth is the coming into being of a new life which has the nature of its parents when you were born the first time You were made a part taker of the old nature the sinful nature we all receive from Adam when you are born again You become a part taker of the divine nature see singing Peter one four from more info on that

  [SPEAKER_00]: Do you have the divine nature?

  [SPEAKER_00]: No matter what kind of religious profession you have made, no matter how moral a person you may be, unless you have been made the partaker of this divine nature, you are not saved.

  [SPEAKER_00]: God gives you this new nature.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The moment you receive a son, it's instantaneous.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You can no more be born again by degrees then you can shoot a firecracker by degrees.

  [SPEAKER_00]: When you are born again, you begin living a new life.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's what happened when you were born the first time.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You started living a life you had never lived before.
• 7:44
  [SPEAKER_00]: Some think they're going to heaven just because they went forward in a meeting.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Be sure you're born again.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There may be a more dramatic change in the life of a drunken railing blasphemer.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But even in you who have not been down deep in sin, there is bound to be a change when you're born again.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There will be a new attitude towards the Lord Jesus Christ, His Word and His people.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Are you sure?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Are you sure you've been born again?

  [SPEAKER_00]: You may not know the exact day or hour you trusted Christ, but you should be able to say, I know now, I am born again.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If you're not sure about this most serious matter, I beg of you to tell the Lord Jesus that you receive Him now.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Then read John 336 and believe it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He, that believeeth on the Son, have everlasting life.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Why?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Why must you be born again?

  [SPEAKER_00]: One, because a Lord Jesus Christ said so, that ought to settle it, but number two, because you and I have a sinful nature.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The nature we all receive from Adam is fallen, corrupt and totally depraved.

  [SPEAKER_00]: God says, the heart of man is desperately wicked and deceitful of all things.

  [SPEAKER_00]: With this old nature, you could not enjoy yourself in heaven.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If you can't find any pleasure in a prayer meeting now, how can you expect to enjoy heaven here after?

  [SPEAKER_00]: heaven is a holy place.

  [SPEAKER_00]: When you're born again, God gives you a holy nature that you might enjoy yourself and heaven, a holy place.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Why must you be born again?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Because you can't save yourself.

  [SPEAKER_00]: For by grace are you saved to faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, less than any man should boast, Ephesians 2, 8, 9.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Not by works of righteousness, which we have done, but according to his mercy, he saved us Tettis 3, verse 5.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And don't skip lightly over these two quotations from God's Holy Word.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Not by works of righteousness, which we have done.

  [SPEAKER_00]: for by grace or you saved, through faith, in that none of yourselves.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You cannot save yourself.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You must be born again.

  [SPEAKER_00]: How?

  [SPEAKER_00]: How can you and I be born again?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Book of John tells us in chapter 1, He came unto His own and His own received Him not, but as many as received Him to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe in His name, which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's not a blood, you know, a Christian, just because your parents may be, you don't inherit salvation from your parents, even though your folks may be saved if you have not been born again, you're lost, nor of the will of the flesh.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's not by your efforts and willpower, you will fail.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So stop trying, instead of working, trust, receive and depend upon the one who died and rose again.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If I'd asked some of you, if you were a child of God, you'd say, I don't know for sure, but I'm trying to be.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's not of the will of man.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's not about about by any man's religious creeds, systems, or ceremonies.

  [SPEAKER_00]: No man or organization can do anything to you or for you.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They'll make you a child of God.

  [SPEAKER_00]: This new birth is of God.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Lord Jesus said you must be born of the Spirit.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's God's work.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Not yours.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's a miracle.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You don't receive cries by taking communion, you don't receive him by being baptized, you receive cries by faith.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Just tell him that you accept him as your personal savior.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Personal friend of mine, Paul of being says, a preacher of the gospel told me that he was a sunny school super intended before he was saved.

  [SPEAKER_00]: A lady once told me she was a church member 38 years before she was saved.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Your attendance and your ministry don't make you a Christian.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Before it's eternally too late, I beg of you.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Again, for your sake, for your family's sake, for Jesus's sake, don't trifle with his thing.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Bow at the feet of the risen Lord and tell him, you receive him now.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You could bow your head and say something like this.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Lord, I am a guilty, lost helpless sinner.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I believe you suffered on the cross for my sins and died in my place.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I believe you paid the penalty for my sins and you rose again.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I call on you to forgive my sins and give me eternal life saved me God.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Friend, did you pray a prayer like that just now?
