We'll learn 'go straight' and 'turn'. Luna: Ooh, useful. I always need to know when to keep walking straight. Lucas: So the phrase for 'go straight' is 直行. Luna: 直行. Lucas: Good. 直 means straight, 行 means go. So 直行. Luna: 直行. I like how it sounds. Lucas: Now, 'turn' is 轉彎. Luna: 轉彎. Lucas: Yeah. 轉 is turn, 彎 is curve. So together, 轉彎. Luna: 轉彎. So if I say 'go straight and turn', I can combine them? Lucas: Exactly. 直行然後轉彎. Luna: 直行然後轉彎. What's 然後? Lucas: 然後 means 'then'. So 'go straight then turn'. Luna: 直行然後轉彎. That's a lot of words but I think I got it. Lucas: You will. Let's do one more: 過馬路 — cross the street. Luna: 過馬路. Lucas: 過 means cross, 馬路 means road. 過馬路. Luna: So if I need to ask where to cross, I say 喺邊度過馬路? Lucas: Yes! 喺邊度 means 'where'. So 喺邊度過馬路? — Where do I cross the street? Luna: 喺邊度過馬路? That's handy. Lucas: Let's put them in a little scene. Imagine you're giving directions. Luna: Okay, I'll try. 直行然後轉彎? Lucas: Perfect. Now ask where to cross. Luna: 喺邊度過馬路? Lucas: Great! And answer: 喺嗰度過馬路 — cross over there. Luna: 喺嗰度過馬路. Over there.
