- 1 00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:02,720 It's still really a big damage in it! 2 00:00:02,720 --> 00:00:11,720 [Music] 3 00:00:11,720 --> 00:00:12,960 What up, you! 4 00:00:12,960 --> 00:00:16,960 Ooh, welcome everybody! 5 00:00:16,960 --> 00:00:20,320 Welcome to this week's This and This Still Reload Show. 6 00:00:20,320 --> 00:00:24,560 Episode 862 for August 20th, 2026. 7 00:00:24,560 --> 00:00:29,440 Welcome to this week's edition of AskRTU. 8 00:00:29,440 --> 00:00:31,360 I am one after the show. 9 00:00:31,360 --> 00:00:32,960 I am Jeff Packen. 10 00:00:32,960 --> 00:00:36,960 joined every single week of my close lonely Dr. Trey Franklin. 11 00:00:36,960 --> 00:00:42,080 Dr. Trey, if there was a show that was promoted by you and I, my friend, 12 00:00:42,080 --> 00:00:46,800 I think this match would be the main event. 13 00:00:46,800 --> 00:00:49,120 Well, great balls of fire, part two. 14 00:00:49,120 --> 00:00:51,840 Samojo versus Buck Lesnar, yeah. 15 00:00:51,840 --> 00:00:55,200 I mean, it's summertime. You and I were just talking about how hot it is and 16 00:00:55,200 --> 00:00:58,400 one of the old things is hottest balls. So if we're promoting a match in 17 00:00:58,400 --> 00:01:02,880 August, it's great balls of fire too. I mean, it might be an inferno 18 00:01:02,880 --> 00:01:06,320 match with dodge balls on a pole. I don't know how it works out, but yeah, 19 00:01:06,320 --> 00:01:08,400 it's great balls of fire parts. 20 00:01:08,400 --> 00:01:11,280 Yeah, that's one of our favorite PLE's, paper views of all time. 21 00:01:11,280 --> 00:01:14,000 Obviously, I'm talking about what's going to be taking place tomorrow night. 22 00:01:14,000 --> 00:01:17,680 Friday night's Smackdown, main event, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. 23 00:01:17,680 --> 00:01:24,720 It will be CM Punk defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens. 24 00:01:24,720 --> 00:01:29,040 It is the five year anniversary today, Dr. Trey, as you and I record this, 25 00:01:29,040 --> 00:01:34,560 that CM Punk returned to professional wrestling in August 20th, 2021 26 00:01:34,560 --> 00:01:38,960 when he walked into Chicago's United Center at AW rampage the first dance 27 00:01:38,960 --> 00:01:43,600 and officially returned to professional wrestling after more than seven years away. 28 00:01:43,600 --> 00:01:47,120 Five years later, he's the Undisputed WWE Champion preparing to defend that 29 00:01:47,120 --> 00:01:49,920 championship against Kevin Owens Friday night in Toronto. 30 00:01:49,920 --> 00:01:55,360 If you told us that on August 20th, 2021, would either one of us have believed you 31 00:01:55,360 --> 00:02:00,560 and on a personal level, is there a match that better to find the history of this show, 32 00:02:00,560 --> 00:02:03,920 Dr. Trey, then CM Punk versus Kevin Owens. 33 00:02:03,920 --> 00:02:10,800 So you have Kevin Owens on your hierarchy of SRTU wrestlers. Kevin Owens is above 34 00:02:10,800 --> 00:02:16,400 Sanctis eight, right? If there is a Mount Rushmore of people, wrestlers who have defined that show, 35 00:02:16,400 --> 00:02:22,320 I think two of the four spots are Kevin Owens and CM Punk because I was going to say, 36 00:02:22,320 --> 00:02:29,760 historically, 2010, I was talking about Kevin's team versus Elginarica. We were like nonstop. 37 00:02:29,760 --> 00:02:37,120 I was going to say because I think, I mean, you and I have been friends now for almost two decades, 38 00:02:37,120 --> 00:02:42,800 and I think I could easily say that probably are two of our favorite wrestlers of the past 20 years 39 00:02:42,800 --> 00:02:48,480 are CM Punk and Kevin Owens. So this was, I remember us talking about CM Punk versus Stone Cold Steve 40 00:02:48,480 --> 00:02:55,120 Austin 15 years ago, that might be a possibility. And that was kind of like our dream match because Kevin 41 00:02:55,120 --> 00:03:02,880 Steed had not elevated to this level. Now I think this would be the closest perfect dream match 42 00:03:02,880 --> 00:03:08,080 of our favorite wrestlers going at it is tomorrow night on SmackDown. 43 00:03:08,720 --> 00:03:13,840 Yeah, this is a match that we've been wanting to see for some time and it's a dream match. It's 44 00:03:13,840 --> 00:03:19,600 build as a first time ever match because I don't think they've ever wrestled anywhere. I don't think 45 00:03:19,600 --> 00:03:28,160 they've wrestled at R0H. I don't think they've wrestled in mid-South. It's IWA in mid-South. I don't 46 00:03:28,160 --> 00:03:33,920 think they've wrestled in CZW. I never ever have I heard these two guys wrestling one another. And 47 00:03:34,880 --> 00:03:41,040 I think that if we went down and we were like, what is the Mount Rushmore of 862 episodes of SRTU 48 00:03:41,040 --> 00:03:46,400 who are two of the wrestlers that have found that error? I think to me, Kevin Owens and CM Punk. 49 00:03:46,400 --> 00:03:50,880 So the big question here, right, Owens return from a potentially career ending neck injury at 50 00:03:50,880 --> 00:03:54,800 Summer Slam and immediately won the number one contenders match and now gets Punk in Canada. 51 00:03:54,800 --> 00:03:59,280 WWE could create an incredible emotional moment by putting the championship on Owens. 52 00:03:59,280 --> 00:04:04,080 Kevin Owens has come out in interviews and said that his family will be ringside for this match. But 53 00:04:04,640 --> 00:04:13,360 Punk's championship run is still relatively young. So Dr. Tre should Kevin Owens win the WWE 54 00:04:13,360 --> 00:04:22,000 championship in Toronto on Friday night? Absolutely. I mean, so I think I've told you this years and 55 00:04:22,000 --> 00:04:26,880 years ago, like when I was going to go into wrestling, my character, the way I had perceived my 56 00:04:26,880 --> 00:04:34,160 character going is actually what Kevin Owens is. Just chubby bearded, smart ass, good in the ring, 57 00:04:34,160 --> 00:04:38,880 great on the mic, good heel, good baby face, like that's who I wanted to be. 58 00:04:38,880 --> 00:04:42,720 Then when Kevin Owens came on the scene, I'm like, oh, that's my guy. 59 00:04:42,720 --> 00:04:53,200 We've had Owens Zane challenge for titles in Canada before they've never pulled a trigger. 60 00:04:53,200 --> 00:05:02,240 We've had Sammy Zane won the belt, had a one week title run for CM Punk to basically take the belt 61 00:05:02,240 --> 00:05:10,560 off him. It would make just a ton of sense for that title change to happen on SmackDown in Toronto, 62 00:05:10,560 --> 00:05:18,560 not to mention title changes don't usually happen on free TV and WWE very often. So I think it makes 63 00:05:18,560 --> 00:05:26,480 a ton of sense. Like the booking of this has been a little weird to me in the sense of, yeah, we're 64 00:05:26,480 --> 00:05:34,000 feeding into, quote unquote, real life shoot drama, whatever you want to call it. At times they've made 65 00:05:34,000 --> 00:05:40,160 always look like a heel, punk look like a heel, which everybody knows I hate shades of gray in 66 00:05:40,160 --> 00:05:45,120 pro wrestling. But if you're going to pull the trigger on something like this and kind of shock the 67 00:05:45,120 --> 00:05:51,840 world, this would be a great time to do it. Yeah, this is an opportunity to get some ratings here, 68 00:05:51,840 --> 00:05:55,360 certainly for Friday nights, SmackDown. Let's look at the argument here for both guys starting with 69 00:05:55,360 --> 00:05:59,600 Kevin Owens. He's coming off of one of the biggest comeback stories of his career. There was 70 00:05:59,600 --> 00:06:04,000 discussions he may never come back from his neck injury. He's wrestling for the WWE championship 71 00:06:04,000 --> 00:06:08,880 in his home country. The audience should be heavily behind him. I'm looking at this as being like 72 00:06:08,880 --> 00:06:15,840 Breton Shaw 97 where Bret is coming out in Canada as the home, hometown hero, home country hero. 73 00:06:15,840 --> 00:06:22,080 And while CM Punk is beloved, I think he's coming in this match as the heel. And this is a guy 74 00:06:22,080 --> 00:06:27,360 who loves Bret Hart that I think it's going to be more Shawn Michaels in Canada than Bret Hart certainly 75 00:06:27,360 --> 00:06:34,000 is in Canada. Owens winning his first WWE World Championship in years after everything he's gone 76 00:06:34,000 --> 00:06:38,560 through would be an incredible moment. Punk doesn't necessarily need a long-champcher brain for 77 00:06:38,560 --> 00:06:45,440 this run to matter. A KO victory could actually extend punk, punk and Owens is feud rather than 78 00:06:45,440 --> 00:06:51,440 end it. The argument for CM Punk, Punk just got through Cody Road to Summerslam. WWE's finally got 79 00:06:51,440 --> 00:06:57,680 punk into that long-awaited run as its top champion. Taking the championship off him has quickly 80 00:06:57,680 --> 00:07:04,080 off this quickly could make this Summerslam result feel less significant. Punk still also has 81 00:07:04,080 --> 00:07:09,040 an enormous potential championship programs, enormous amount of championship programs ahead of him. 82 00:07:09,040 --> 00:07:14,640 So some of the big questions here, right? We're talking about how much of an incredible moment 83 00:07:14,640 --> 00:07:19,360 this could be. WWE getting caught up in the moment making a short-term decision. I know you say 84 00:07:19,360 --> 00:07:25,360 this build feels weird. This build for me in a two-week time frame and I think I'm completely biased in 85 00:07:25,360 --> 00:07:30,240 this has felt like a Summerslam build to me because the back and forth they're having in the ring 86 00:07:30,240 --> 00:07:39,680 is some of the most feelings of legitimate heat between two wrestlers. Since more CM Punk and Drew 87 00:07:39,680 --> 00:07:51,200 McAter than I would say CM Punk and Seth Rollins. This feels real to me damn it. This is it, Dr. Trey, 88 00:07:51,200 --> 00:07:57,040 because they legitimately don't like one another. When I did the solo show last week, 89 00:07:57,040 --> 00:08:02,800 I talked about that when you watch those segments. Kevin Owens is really into what he's saying, 90 00:08:02,800 --> 00:08:09,040 which makes me feel like what he is saying is real. CM Punk is into what he's saying, but if you really 91 00:08:09,040 --> 00:08:13,920 watch the television, when they're getting to a good spot, Punk is smirking a little bit because I 92 00:08:13,920 --> 00:08:18,960 don't think this is him like antagonizing Kevin Owens in any way. I think he's looking at this going, 93 00:08:18,960 --> 00:08:24,320 this shit is gold. Like we've got the fans in the palm of their hands. There is some real animosity 94 00:08:24,320 --> 00:08:31,280 here that makes the build for the match, pay-per-view worthy. And again, I'm biased in this, but I mean out 95 00:08:31,280 --> 00:08:37,440 of Summerslam, out of All-In, out of Sunday Night, main event that's coming up in a few weeks from 96 00:08:37,440 --> 00:08:44,000 WWE, there is no bigger match that I am more excited for to watch. In the month of August, early 97 00:08:44,000 --> 00:08:48,880 September, maybe in the last eight weeks that I've seen in professional wrestling, then this match 98 00:08:48,880 --> 00:08:56,800 and it's airing on SmackDown. This has some serious heat behind it, Dr. Trey. And I feel like this 99 00:08:56,800 --> 00:09:03,520 could be something that they could pull off at a WrestleMania. No, I agree. Like this, it's weird, 100 00:09:03,520 --> 00:09:08,960 like I was trying to figure out how it phrases. I'm trying to think of it, it's not flare and 101 00:09:08,960 --> 00:09:15,440 sting, but this is like, it's a little bit of rock, Cena, in a sense it is generational in the way 102 00:09:15,440 --> 00:09:23,120 because punk is about 10 years ahead of Kevin Owens. But these two guys that you and I gravitated 103 00:09:23,120 --> 00:09:29,200 towards on the last 15, 20 years because there are personalities on the microphone are so very 104 00:09:29,200 --> 00:09:35,760 similar. In Ring Style, a little different, but for the most part, these are two guys that 105 00:09:35,760 --> 00:09:40,800 came from that Steve Austin school of just keep running your mouth kid and you'll be good. 106 00:09:40,800 --> 00:09:45,760 That's what they've done. That's what they've banked their careers off, whether it's pipe bomb 107 00:09:45,760 --> 00:09:54,640 promos or whatever. This is out of everything going on between Summerslam, All-In, 108 00:09:56,320 --> 00:10:00,160 main event, whatever it is, like this is the match I'm most excited. And the only reason I say 109 00:10:00,160 --> 00:10:06,480 the booking for this has been weird because there really is no clear, defying good guy, bad guy. 110 00:10:06,480 --> 00:10:09,440 Because as much as I love Kevin Owens, when guys come out and say, 111 00:10:09,440 --> 00:10:14,400 you know, when they kind of complain about how somebody treated them years ago in the Indies 112 00:10:14,400 --> 00:10:20,800 on the microphone in front of a live crowd, I'm like, I don't like whininess, but it's 113 00:10:20,800 --> 00:10:27,440 illustrating a point. And it just kind of shows it's like, I don't know if they, I'm sure they know 114 00:10:27,440 --> 00:10:32,160 which direction they're going, but the build leaves people like us confused. Where's like, 115 00:10:32,160 --> 00:10:38,800 is, is, could we see Kevin and Sammy get back together in this and you know, where does this go? 116 00:10:38,800 --> 00:10:44,240 Or is this going to be where Sammy costs Kevin the title and we end up with Sammy and Kevin again? 117 00:10:44,240 --> 00:10:49,600 And you know, you and I always said like, you can put those guys in any match at any time and we're 118 00:10:49,600 --> 00:10:55,280 going to eat it up. But like, where does this go from here? And plus we all know Kevin's a triple H guy 119 00:10:55,280 --> 00:11:00,800 and you know, they just did the Sammy payoff, you know, a month ago and are they going to pull the 120 00:11:00,800 --> 00:11:06,400 trigger on a Kevin payoff now? Like, there's a lot of questions without clear definition, which is 121 00:11:06,400 --> 00:11:14,160 where I feel like that, that weirdness settles in. But yeah, I mean this, this match, I can't, I don't 122 00:11:14,160 --> 00:11:17,840 think I have, I came to the last time I actually said, I'm staying home on a Friday night to watch 123 00:11:17,840 --> 00:11:23,360 Macdown. It's been a while. I'm staying home. I'm trying to watch Macdown. You know, this, this has 124 00:11:23,360 --> 00:11:28,080 got me more hyped up than, you know, Mercedes-Monaire will a night and go. All right, let's wrap it up 125 00:11:28,080 --> 00:11:33,520 here, Dr. Tray, going back to what we originally said here on the, the SRT portion of this match. 126 00:11:33,520 --> 00:11:39,440 Is there a bigger dream match in your mind? I've shared my thoughts. I don't think there is. Is 127 00:11:39,440 --> 00:11:44,000 there a bigger dream match that better represents the Storelas show that punk versus zones? Because I 128 00:11:44,000 --> 00:11:49,440 think if you and I did a special show, which we don't do as many of them as we used to anymore, 129 00:11:49,440 --> 00:11:55,840 and we're like, that's fantasy book the last 15, 20 years of the SRT you podcast. I think this match 130 00:11:55,840 --> 00:12:02,240 is on that pay-per-view. Oh, yeah, I was trying to figure out like in my mind, I know who three of 131 00:12:02,240 --> 00:12:08,240 the four are based on my fandom during this time, one of the show, I can't figure out who number four 132 00:12:09,280 --> 00:12:17,840 so is Sammy's on there? Sammy's three. Okay. Because I think generic Osteen defined probably the first six 133 00:12:17,840 --> 00:12:22,560 to seven years of the show. I mean, even to this day when we reference, you know, right, you know, 134 00:12:22,560 --> 00:12:28,080 feud of the year, we always reference generic Osteen. That's the standard. You know, 135 00:12:28,080 --> 00:12:34,800 and then even going to NXT and then, you know, I remember when, you know, when Sammy and Cino went 136 00:12:34,800 --> 00:12:38,320 out and then it was like three weeks later, there's Owens and Cena and they're ringing you and I 137 00:12:38,320 --> 00:12:44,240 were like, holy cow, I can't believe we're seeing Kevin Owens and John Cena in the ring at the same time 138 00:12:44,240 --> 00:12:54,720 fighting each other. It's Punk Owens, Zane and Roman Seth. I don't know who number four is. 139 00:12:54,720 --> 00:13:02,720 Daniel Bryan, what's up? Daniel Bryan, yeah, it's just for the longevity of the show. I mean, 140 00:13:02,720 --> 00:13:10,400 no, we love CM Punk so much. We had to ban talking about him when he was away from the show, you know, 141 00:13:10,400 --> 00:13:17,840 for all those years. So to me, this for Dream Match is right up there with what we saw with Owens and 142 00:13:17,840 --> 00:13:24,640 Steve Austin. But at least that match wasn't hyped. That was a confrontation. This is an actual 143 00:13:24,640 --> 00:13:30,560 match between two of our top three guys over the course of the last 15 years. All right, let's wrap it 144 00:13:30,560 --> 00:13:35,520 up here. Prediction quick prediction, Dr. Trey next week when you and I are recording this podcast, 145 00:13:35,520 --> 00:13:38,400 who is the Undisputed WWE Champion? I'm taking Kevin Owens. 146 00:13:38,400 --> 00:13:44,960 Say I was going to take it, I was going to, I want, my heart says Owens, my head says Punk. So 147 00:13:44,960 --> 00:13:49,920 I'll, I'll, I'll side with you. I'll take Kevin Owens on this one just because my heart, like it's 148 00:13:49,920 --> 00:13:54,480 been, we talked about it. It's been a really, really emotional three weeks for me. I'm going to go 149 00:13:54,480 --> 00:13:57,840 with my heart on this one. I'm going to take Kevin Owens as well. The only thing I can imagine is if 150 00:13:57,840 --> 00:14:02,480 it is in Kevin Owens, like Sammy Zayn's gotten involved somehow. That's, you know, like it's all, 151 00:14:02,480 --> 00:14:08,640 all I can think is, you know, Sammy runs in actually the only Lovic Kicks Kevin and Punk is the way. 152 00:14:08,640 --> 00:14:15,280 Which sideburn all this stuff? I mean, I watched that final segment there and on Smackdown. And 153 00:14:15,280 --> 00:14:21,760 the Sammy Zayn storyline where he's like getting constantly screwed over is one of the most hilarious 154 00:14:21,760 --> 00:14:26,720 storylines I've seen in some time. I mean, the fact that Randy Orton cost him the number one 155 00:14:26,720 --> 00:14:31,360 of tenors match and you, it's like, you forget about that. Like the Cody Orton stuff is going on in 156 00:14:31,360 --> 00:14:35,360 the middle of the ring to close Smackdown. Meanwhile, it's like, oh shit, wait a minute, Sammy got 157 00:14:35,360 --> 00:14:41,200 fucked on this. So it's been one of the best underrated storylines right now has been Sammy Zayn because 158 00:14:41,200 --> 00:14:47,680 he's so damn entertaining. Moving over. Yeah, go ahead. I was like, and when does this Johnny Gargato pay 159 00:14:47,680 --> 00:14:52,800 off happy? Because he seems Sammy talking to Gargato, Pugs talking to Gargato. At some point, 160 00:14:52,800 --> 00:15:00,080 Johnny's got to get off the floor, stop planking. I know Edging Co, our Copen cage have their own 161 00:15:00,080 --> 00:15:07,200 plank board system. If Johnny doesn't get up soon, they should just have him be the poster boy for it. 162 00:15:07,200 --> 00:15:12,320 Yeah, maybe he is just going to be planking all the way to AW who knows at this point. 163 00:15:12,320 --> 00:15:17,520 Moving over to Monday Night Raw, we had a big angle that took place with Solusikoa, Roman Reigns, 164 00:15:17,520 --> 00:15:22,400 the Bud Line Jacob Fatu, LA Knight this past Monday night that closed. A very, very, very 165 00:15:22,400 --> 00:15:27,120 solid edition of Monday Night Raw. One of the best pure wrestling editions of Monday Night Raw 166 00:15:27,120 --> 00:15:31,040 that I've seen in some time. I mean, there are some really, really good matches out there 167 00:15:31,040 --> 00:15:37,280 led by specifically the Chad Gable Ray Mysterio match. That finishing sequence, final five minutes, 168 00:15:37,280 --> 00:15:41,280 and I'm going to complete sidebar tangent like that was paperview worthy. I mean, they had the crown 169 00:15:41,280 --> 00:15:45,760 on the palm of their hands and it was not a paper you which was amazing. Going back to the Solusikoa 170 00:15:45,760 --> 00:15:49,920 Roman Reigns, Bloodline stuff. Just when I thought WWE might be going back down the familiar road 171 00:15:49,920 --> 00:15:55,920 of putting everybody together under Roman Reigns again, Solusikoa said, "No, Solo appeared ready 172 00:15:55,920 --> 00:16:00,640 to fall back in line with Roman and the Bloodline before ultimately turning on Roman and helping LA 173 00:16:00,640 --> 00:16:06,720 and I take out Roman and the Usos." But I keep coming back to Jacob Fatu here, Dr. Trey because Fatu 174 00:16:06,720 --> 00:16:13,200 is just standing there and watching everything unfold might right in front of him. And more importantly, 175 00:16:13,200 --> 00:16:19,040 he is just watching what Solo did in the ring. WWE's own Raw recap confirmed Solo ultimately 176 00:16:19,040 --> 00:16:23,520 turned against Roman rather than rejoining the family. What I liked from the segment, Solo didn't 177 00:16:23,520 --> 00:16:28,240 simply become Roman soldier again. That's very important. We watched Solo go from Roman's enforcer 178 00:16:28,240 --> 00:16:33,360 to try and replace Roman to lose in his own Bloodline to become increasingly isolated. Going 179 00:16:33,360 --> 00:16:38,640 backwards would have erased a lot of that development, especially within being a big baby face right now. 180 00:16:38,640 --> 00:16:44,480 Instead, Solo essentially told Roman I'm not doing this again. Then there's Jacob Fatu. Roman 181 00:16:44,480 --> 00:16:51,040 rewarded Jimmy and Jay. Solo openly rejected him and Jacob watched the facial reaction felt 182 00:16:51,040 --> 00:16:56,960 deliberate. Where is this all going? Is Jacob slowly realizing Roman has really changed? Does Fatu 183 00:16:56,960 --> 00:17:02,640 eventually leave Roman too? Does he love Solo again? Could Roman's attempt to rebuild the Blumline 184 00:17:02,640 --> 00:17:07,680 actually be what destroys it again is Solo now becoming an anti-Bloodline character rather than 185 00:17:07,680 --> 00:17:12,480 trying to create another version of the group? Where does LA and I fit in all of this? Is Roman supposed 186 00:17:12,480 --> 00:17:17,280 to be someone we're rooting for right now because internally he's being listed as a heal because he's 187 00:17:17,280 --> 00:17:24,320 still asked uncontrollably towards his own family. There's the bigger questions. We're now several years 188 00:17:24,320 --> 00:17:29,520 into the Blumline saga. There have been points where it felt exhausted, but this week I wanted to know 189 00:17:29,520 --> 00:17:36,160 what happens next and that's the entire point of episodic wrestling television. So Dr. Trei asked 190 00:17:36,160 --> 00:17:41,920 you has W. We found another genuinely interesting chapter of the Bloodline story after this past 191 00:17:41,920 --> 00:17:50,080 Monday night. No they absolutely have. It's in a weird sense. I mean we've got the Royce Keys factor 192 00:17:50,080 --> 00:17:56,160 in there but you have almost like the old guard and the young guard and it's a different spin on 193 00:17:56,160 --> 00:18:06,560 bloodline and I'm using MFTs because that's what they turn into. But I was telling a friend of my 194 00:18:06,560 --> 00:18:16,320 last night. I'm like I don't remember anybody bursting out as much of his enjoyable baby face as I 195 00:18:16,320 --> 00:18:22,800 have solos lately. Like he is just having so much fun. He has the crowd in the palm of his hands. 196 00:18:22,800 --> 00:18:30,080 He's funny. He's engaging. It's like man I just for somebody that two years ago I could have never 197 00:18:30,080 --> 00:18:38,080 pictured being a top guy baby face to where he's at right now. Yeah he's there and you have all 198 00:18:38,080 --> 00:18:44,640 this dynamic of the Jacob stuff. You have all the dynamics of you know the Usos becoming captains. 199 00:18:44,640 --> 00:18:52,960 It's it's really good TV. I mean to me this just shows Roman's a heel again. The Blumline is heels. 200 00:18:52,960 --> 00:18:59,280 I mean the way Roman was acting towards solo the disrespect towards Jacob. Roman the bloodlines are 201 00:18:59,280 --> 00:19:06,640 heels again which means J and Jimmy are heels again. So it's it's a really kind of organic kind of 202 00:19:06,640 --> 00:19:11,840 build out of this too because I don't think WWE thought Solo would get this over as a baby face. 203 00:19:11,840 --> 00:19:17,120 I think they knew what they had in Jacob and I think they were waiting to pull the trigger on Jacob 204 00:19:17,120 --> 00:19:24,560 but the solo thing is just taken off and then you still got the LA knife factor. So to me it's 205 00:19:24,560 --> 00:19:30,240 it's really good organic storytelling that I think they just listened to the crowd and I think people 206 00:19:30,240 --> 00:19:36,320 they respect Roman but I think they want to boo Roman. I think it's it just kind of feels right 207 00:19:36,320 --> 00:19:44,080 to boo Roman because he is so dominant of a champion over the last you know five years like it just 208 00:19:44,080 --> 00:19:51,600 makes sense. So I love this it's reminiscent and he our younger audience won't forget this but 209 00:19:51,600 --> 00:19:57,200 like the horsemen of the 80s it was always totally armed and Rick and then the fourth guy 210 00:19:57,200 --> 00:20:01,600 whoever they brought in within eventually turned baby face and feared with the other three and it's 211 00:20:01,600 --> 00:20:07,360 kind of like it feels like that right now at the bloodline with every time we we know we can make 212 00:20:07,360 --> 00:20:12,080 baby faces if we put them up against Roman so let's just keep going to the well and doing it and 213 00:20:12,080 --> 00:20:16,560 they've done a really good job of it or less last month. One of the things that I noticed during 214 00:20:16,560 --> 00:20:20,720 the angle is at one point in the corner I don't know if he was doing this purposely or not I'm 215 00:20:20,720 --> 00:20:26,240 going to go with purposely was Jacob Hutton had a little bit of a smile on his face. What exactly 216 00:20:26,240 --> 00:20:30,320 do you think Jacob Hutton was thinking while he watched solo reject Roman Reigns? 217 00:20:30,320 --> 00:20:39,360 I think that for me that look on his face was hey I'm not the captain. You know it was like 218 00:20:39,360 --> 00:20:44,080 you tell me what to do you didn't tell me to take him out so I'm just going to stay here until you 219 00:20:44,080 --> 00:20:49,840 tell me what to do. It's kind of that like perfect little like smart-ass soldier response where 220 00:20:50,640 --> 00:20:56,080 you know for the last two months since he joined the bloodline it's been basically like I do with 221 00:20:56,080 --> 00:21:01,280 the travel chief tells me he tells me to do this I do this and then you know he's had that back and 222 00:21:01,280 --> 00:21:06,240 forth with Jay over this time where Jay's supposed to be the right hand but you know Jacob's telling him 223 00:21:06,240 --> 00:21:12,800 like hey I follow Roman I don't follow you but now Roman came out of Ron and said look if you disrespect 224 00:21:12,800 --> 00:21:20,560 my captain you disrespect me which kind of pushes Jacob down or wrong I think like in anywhere like 225 00:21:20,560 --> 00:21:24,240 that would be my attitude like if you show me disrespect why am I going to come to your help? 226 00:21:24,240 --> 00:21:32,800 I think that was the most logical response that situation where if Roman indirectly you know 227 00:21:32,800 --> 00:21:37,680 disrespects Jacob why is he going to run out you know why is he going to make the save in that situation? 228 00:21:38,800 --> 00:21:43,600 And then the last thing here Dr. Trey do you think Fat 2 ultimately is the next person to walk away 229 00:21:43,600 --> 00:21:49,200 from the travel chief right now we've got four on the bloodline the two Usos Roman Fat 2 on the other 230 00:21:49,200 --> 00:21:54,320 side you've got Solo and LNite I feel like it's going to be even here at some point we got war games 231 00:21:54,320 --> 00:21:58,640 it'll be here before you know it and I think the bloodline is going to be heavily involved in that match. 232 00:21:58,640 --> 00:22:05,200 Yeah because I was trying to do the math on this so if Jacob walks away I think that means 233 00:22:05,920 --> 00:22:11,920 Bronson Reed ends up with the bloodline I'm trying to do the math on the 234 00:22:11,920 --> 00:22:17,600 point let's get to go back to the vision no yeah I mean there is there a still a vision there's no Paul 235 00:22:17,600 --> 00:22:23,520 Hayman that yeah I mean there's still a vision they still got Logan Paul awesome theory braw breaker on 236 00:22:23,520 --> 00:22:28,960 Monday nights I know I'm just trying I'm trying to do the math like it so Jacob's sides with Solo and L.A. 237 00:22:28,960 --> 00:22:34,400 then Royce Keys goes with the bloodliners he go back with Jacob because they were just fighting 238 00:22:34,400 --> 00:22:40,240 but then they're like there were their brothers you know what they're saying I could see I could see a 239 00:22:40,240 --> 00:22:47,840 L.A. night Solo Royce Keys Jacob Fattil and then the other three would be you'd have the bloodline on 240 00:22:47,840 --> 00:22:54,080 that side trying to think here would you who would you I don't think who'd you add on the other side 241 00:22:54,080 --> 00:22:59,920 there that's why we're not so reek is didn't Bronson Reed side with them a couple years ago and 242 00:22:59,920 --> 00:23:05,680 survivors as well that was with that was with Solo's version of the bloodline and then that basically just 243 00:23:05,680 --> 00:23:09,920 kind of went away and we did the vision like I wonder if you bring Sammy back into this and then we've 244 00:23:09,920 --> 00:23:15,440 seen four on four we've seen five on five as well you know we've seen strange bedfellows with with 245 00:23:15,440 --> 00:23:23,200 the bloodline whether they're good or bad in the past I wonder if they did the same stuff yeah or 246 00:23:23,200 --> 00:23:29,600 or Romans not in the match and you do the Usos and the MFTs the sons of Haku that could be right the 247 00:23:29,600 --> 00:23:35,360 MFTs the both the Tongans they side with the bloodline I don't think they're gonna be turning baby face 248 00:23:35,360 --> 00:23:40,800 anytime soon especially with Haku so yeah I you know I did not have on my bingo card the potential of 249 00:23:40,800 --> 00:23:46,400 Jacob Fattil turning baby face and turning on the bloodline anytime soon I felt like this was going to 250 00:23:46,400 --> 00:23:52,480 be more of a WrestleMania maybe post-Restimating type storyline but it could be sooner than than 251 00:23:52,480 --> 00:23:57,760 people think here I think anything that you see with the bloodline right now keep in mind that I 252 00:23:57,760 --> 00:24:03,280 a lot of this I feel like is being built towards war games because when you look at war games right now 253 00:24:03,280 --> 00:24:07,280 and that is a very big deal they're starting to promote the Houston show I think tickets went on 254 00:24:07,280 --> 00:24:14,640 sale they're gonna want to put some butts in seats and there is really no faction in the male side 255 00:24:14,640 --> 00:24:19,520 that can hold that I mean the vision has really taken a fall down I mean to the point that Dr. 256 00:24:19,520 --> 00:24:24,960 Trade didn't think the vision really existed anymore so it's like what else do you do here right now 257 00:24:24,960 --> 00:24:29,280 and it's definitely bloodline and you need to start evening up and I think I think you're gonna see 258 00:24:29,280 --> 00:24:33,600 some rocket chips being put on LA nights and rocket chips being put on solo maybe some rocket chips on 259 00:24:33,600 --> 00:24:38,480 Jacob Fattil and and Royce Kees and you could start developing some brand new single stars out of 260 00:24:38,480 --> 00:24:44,400 this entire thing at least here in the last part of 2026 would love to hear everybody starts yep go 261 00:24:44,400 --> 00:24:54,560 ahead let's say if you go smack down punk Cody Bauer and one other guy against Sammy 262 00:24:54,960 --> 00:25:02,000 KO Orton and Gunther so that's a really I mean I don't even know if KO is a heel right now 263 00:25:02,000 --> 00:25:07,600 that's true but I'm saying you could you just kind of depends because I mean that those seem to be 264 00:25:07,600 --> 00:25:13,840 your top seven guys on smack down right now you know they're a really good main event level picture I 265 00:25:13,840 --> 00:25:19,520 just I think I would put my money right now on August the 20th on the bloodline being in that match 266 00:25:19,520 --> 00:25:26,560 that would be my guess yeah who knows no I agree like if I was betting I would lean bloodline solo 267 00:25:26,560 --> 00:25:33,040 because out what's again we we've seen them on one hand when somebody gets red haza baby face they 268 00:25:33,040 --> 00:25:38,800 just run with it and then we've seen them other times with a red hot baby face like LA night three 269 00:25:38,800 --> 00:25:44,160 years ago where yeah it's not the right time yet so I it's gonna be interesting I'm really 270 00:25:44,160 --> 00:25:50,720 interested how this whole solo booking comes out of this because I mean we couldn't have a solo in 271 00:25:50,720 --> 00:25:55,920 Jacob feuding with the loose those with the tag belts or you know just feuding in an tag team I mean 272 00:25:55,920 --> 00:26:02,480 with LA night Roman reigns so it's just or do you end up flipping it based on what happened my night 273 00:26:02,480 --> 00:26:09,360 and after you know the next paper after what are we doing Roman in LA night I think they're probably 274 00:26:09,360 --> 00:26:15,760 gonna do it money in the bank would be my guess so after my in the bank do we get solo in Roman at the 275 00:26:15,760 --> 00:26:21,200 next PLA afterwards yeah which would be survivor series I think at that point oh unless they do 276 00:26:21,200 --> 00:26:29,040 another Saudi Arabia show like a crown jewel anyway just a chime in at patreon.com/srtupotcast let us 277 00:26:29,040 --> 00:26:32,320 know what you think of the storyline and where things are going right now with the bloodline Jacob 278 00:26:32,320 --> 00:26:38,320 feitu solo LA night and so much more and a lot of good stuff going on on both main shows right now 279 00:26:38,320 --> 00:26:43,840 it seems to be a good creative swing lately um speaking of Monday night Raw sticky with Monday night 280 00:26:43,840 --> 00:26:50,880 Raw Dr. Trey I talked about on last week's show WWE and and making us wait a little bit for umover 281 00:26:50,880 --> 00:26:55,600 Femi versus Braun Breaker because I think it could be the next John Cena Batista holding of the 282 00:26:55,600 --> 00:27:01,200 torch but they're going forward with it with the Sunday night's main event in just a few weeks in 283 00:27:01,200 --> 00:27:08,320 Atlanta Georgia um I made the case here I literally asked like why not make open brawn WWE Cena 284 00:27:08,320 --> 00:27:14,080 Batista put them as separate paths and let them become massive stars before finally putting them 285 00:27:14,080 --> 00:27:19,440 together WWE apparently heard that and said nope let's do it immediately because oba Femi versus 286 00:27:19,440 --> 00:27:24,000 Braun Breaker is officially happening in September at Sunday night's main event so I ask you 287 00:27:24,000 --> 00:27:30,800 W. Dr. Trey is WWE striking while the iron is hot or giving away a WrestleMania level rivalry years 288 00:27:30,800 --> 00:27:36,720 too early and when I mean Cena and Batista I felt like put oba on one brand Braun on the other and 289 00:27:36,720 --> 00:27:43,360 keep these guys apart for like three or four years I said that when oba was a free agent I was like you 290 00:27:43,360 --> 00:27:49,200 got Braun Breaker on Raw put oba on Smackdown but then we had all the injuries in the vision 291 00:27:49,200 --> 00:27:55,200 happening now Braun we talked about a couple of weeks ago Braun star is dropped so to me 292 00:27:56,800 --> 00:28:04,640 I don't know the upside unless WWE has felt like yeah Braun Breaker can take a step down again 293 00:28:04,640 --> 00:28:11,440 I don't understand the upside of this of doing this so soon like this is something you can 294 00:28:11,440 --> 00:28:16,720 kind of build to we saw them allude to it at Royal Rumble when you know Braun got taken out by Seth 295 00:28:16,720 --> 00:28:22,400 it was supposed to be one and two Braun and oba they held off on it and then now we're circling 296 00:28:22,400 --> 00:28:27,840 back you know nine months later to this it does feel like the Braun Breaker star has dropped a 297 00:28:27,840 --> 00:28:32,320 little bit and that's why they're pulling trigger unless this is when Braun's in Reed returns 298 00:28:32,320 --> 00:28:39,520 to rejoin the vision that I forgot about to help Braun Breaker beat oba femey and then you get 299 00:28:39,520 --> 00:28:47,360 oba femey oba femey puning with the vision but it is kind of like you know I'm with you like to 300 00:28:47,360 --> 00:28:53,600 me it's like you have two young you know just a head like just generational type talents 301 00:28:53,600 --> 00:28:59,760 why why have them on the same show now once again if you had put oba on Smackdown knowing you're 302 00:28:59,760 --> 00:29:04,560 gonna move punk there knowing you're gonna move Cody there maybe that's why they didn't do it 303 00:29:04,560 --> 00:29:10,000 and they saw that hey maybe we can just keep him on raw and eventually get to oba and Roman and 304 00:29:10,000 --> 00:29:16,880 that was their plan all along but you know it's just to pull the trigger on it this soon it's to me 305 00:29:16,880 --> 00:29:23,600 does feel a little bit early but you know we I'm trying to think of some great rivalries over the past 306 00:29:23,600 --> 00:29:27,920 I mean we've had Roman and Seth how many different times the last 10 years and some of those start out 307 00:29:27,920 --> 00:29:33,680 you know not too long I mean we went we didn't get Roman and Seth right after the shield broke up we 308 00:29:33,680 --> 00:29:40,000 got Seth and Ambrose but we eventually got back to it and those guys have battled I think a dozen 309 00:29:40,000 --> 00:29:47,840 times over the past 10 years so does it mean you can't do it it's just different I guess from what 310 00:29:47,840 --> 00:29:52,560 you and I are used to with taking your young stars keeping them off the sides until you finally built 311 00:29:52,560 --> 00:29:57,520 that big payoff match yeah it seems like that they're treating Sunday Night's main event and I never 312 00:29:57,520 --> 00:30:01,680 looked at it this way and we've discussed this several times over the years I mean even going back 313 00:30:01,680 --> 00:30:06,240 to the most over last couple months I should say even the most recent one in New York City I look at 314 00:30:06,240 --> 00:30:10,480 as just as like as a special television event I don't look at it as a PLE but I think they're really 315 00:30:10,480 --> 00:30:17,760 going into this one as a PLE and they're not even up against AW that weekend it's just bizarre to me 316 00:30:17,760 --> 00:30:24,160 like we're getting Cody and Orton which is a WrestleMania level main event and the we the one in 317 00:30:24,160 --> 00:30:29,280 July what was the headliner there before Roman it was really Roman and Jalen Brunson's saying 318 00:30:29,280 --> 00:30:35,200 I can't even remember that I was the close was it a tag team it was was it Cody and punk versus 319 00:30:35,200 --> 00:30:40,080 again Sammy and Gunther Sammy and Gunther yeah to make it the fatal for way and no disrespect to those 320 00:30:40,080 --> 00:30:45,520 four guys but the build and the overall framework of that show didn't scream PLE to me and now you've got 321 00:30:45,520 --> 00:30:51,680 Orton and Brods and you've got Open Braun on paper this is really good I mean this is it's very good 322 00:30:51,680 --> 00:30:56,640 stuff I mean the creative on the men's side in WWE as a Blade on Ron Smackdown has been very good they've 323 00:30:56,640 --> 00:31:02,320 picked it up a lot but it's like let them breathe a little bit like let these guys go and I loved 324 00:31:02,320 --> 00:31:08,080 the way that they booked Cena and Batista in 2004 onwards like they had the Royal Rumble interaction 325 00:31:08,080 --> 00:31:12,160 where they had the botch and the Batista ended up winning and Vince tore both of his quads but then 326 00:31:12,160 --> 00:31:18,320 they went to WrestleMania 21 which was actually 2005 excuse me then those two guys one their title 327 00:31:18,320 --> 00:31:23,760 matches that night and then they were the guys on both brands so much so that when Cena who was on 328 00:31:23,760 --> 00:31:28,560 Smackdown gets drafted over to Raw him and Batista were on the same brand for like a minute and then 329 00:31:28,560 --> 00:31:33,520 the next Smackdown Batista was on and the new face going from Raw to Smackdown and then they carried 330 00:31:33,520 --> 00:31:37,360 those brands for a while and then they really didn't get into it until a Summer Slam match which would 331 00:31:37,360 --> 00:31:42,160 have been like 0809 I feel like and then they had that WrestleMania 26 match when we first started 332 00:31:42,160 --> 00:31:46,240 doing the show that was really good with the title online and then Batista went away for a while 333 00:31:46,240 --> 00:31:50,400 and that was the kind of build like that's five years really like four or five years 334 00:31:50,400 --> 00:31:53,920 where those guys didn't touch and they were carrying the brands and that's what I would have 335 00:31:53,920 --> 00:31:59,200 liked to see so instead we're getting it now I think this is more of a test for Braun Breaker than 336 00:31:59,200 --> 00:32:05,440 in his oba femey because Braun stock has dropped nothing that he did wrong and now is the time to see 337 00:32:05,440 --> 00:32:13,120 like can he be the guy I think Oba is going to be the guy in 2027 I want to see if Braun Breaker could 338 00:32:13,120 --> 00:32:16,880 get there I hope he can get there and I think this match is that test doctor try. 339 00:32:16,880 --> 00:32:22,880 Yeah I mean you know you were talking about Cena and Batista and then I was thinking about 340 00:32:22,880 --> 00:32:29,680 too I was like well then there was also Rain York and Cena and Orton went at it a lot early on and 341 00:32:29,680 --> 00:32:34,400 maybe there's a third guy in the mix and they're looking at like hey we're trying to save 342 00:32:34,400 --> 00:32:40,640 Oba and this and maybe it's a Gunther you know we're like hey we're going to save Oba and Gunther 343 00:32:40,640 --> 00:32:47,040 and let them stand opposite sides for a while and then Oba and Braun can be Cena and Orton and maybe 344 00:32:47,040 --> 00:32:51,760 that's how they're kind of viewing it I'm not sure but like to me once again I wish I'd 345 00:32:51,760 --> 00:32:58,240 about I would have saved this I would have saved at least for WrestleMania or next summer slam 346 00:32:58,240 --> 00:33:02,880 and just let these guys build up and really get a lot of wins under their belts and really get that 347 00:33:02,880 --> 00:33:08,320 momentum both guys momentum up and going at the right time because it feels like one guy's 348 00:33:08,320 --> 00:33:13,120 peeking and one guy's been sliding down which then makes for weird bedfills on like how do you 349 00:33:13,120 --> 00:33:17,680 put this match together where you make both these young guys come out looking like stars. 350 00:33:18,400 --> 00:33:23,680 All right Dodger try let's switch gears now to all the wrestling we're 10 days away from all in 351 00:33:23,680 --> 00:33:31,600 London and this past edition of Dunhamite AW finally makes all in personal with their two main 352 00:33:31,600 --> 00:33:36,240 title matches for the men's and the women's side Kenny Omega and Wille Loss Bray and Mercedes 353 00:33:36,240 --> 00:33:41,120 Monet and Wille Knight and Egael but did they wait too long let's look at Kenny Omega versus Wille 354 00:33:41,120 --> 00:33:46,240 Loss Bray first this is what I wanted from Omega and Osprey not another discussion about Star 355 00:33:46,240 --> 00:33:50,160 ratings not simply these are the two of the greatest wrestlers alive so imagine how great that 356 00:33:50,160 --> 00:33:54,320 match would be we've seen it twice give me a reason they need to beat each other we always say that 357 00:33:54,320 --> 00:34:00,320 as an issue with AEW and on Wednesday night AEW finally did the sit down interview went all the way 358 00:34:00,320 --> 00:34:05,760 back to their first meeting in PWG Omega's time in New Japan Osprey trying to replace Kenny as 359 00:34:05,760 --> 00:34:10,400 the company's top foreign star their wrestle kingdom match and Osprey's controversial for bed 360 00:34:10,400 --> 00:34:15,280 indoor victory with Don Cal's involvement Osprey even admitted that the circumstances surrounding 361 00:34:15,280 --> 00:34:20,720 his win over Omega still bother him then Kenny crossed the line he brought Osprey's family into 362 00:34:20,720 --> 00:34:25,120 including Osprey's son and after Osprey confronted him later in the night Omega put him through a 363 00:34:25,120 --> 00:34:31,280 table with the one wing in angel to close dynamite now we have something Osprey isn't simply trying 364 00:34:31,280 --> 00:34:35,840 to win a championship he's trying to prove that he finally surpassed Kenny Omega and Omega seems 365 00:34:35,840 --> 00:34:41,360 increasingly offended by the idea that Osprey could ever actually be his equal which brings up 366 00:34:41,360 --> 00:34:46,880 an interesting question is Kenny Omega now becoming the he illness thing because Omega was arrogant 367 00:34:46,880 --> 00:34:52,400 he belittled Osprey's accomplishments he brought his family into the feud he manipulated Osprey 368 00:34:52,400 --> 00:34:56,720 to coming back toward the ring then he destroyed him and they're going to Wembley say it in Osprey's 369 00:34:56,720 --> 00:35:02,960 home country Kenny is certainly going to get boot in that one so I asked you this doctor try 370 00:35:02,960 --> 00:35:08,000 did AW wait too long to get here with Will Osprey and Kenny Omega 371 00:35:10,640 --> 00:35:16,720 I'm going to say no because you want to get the feud as hot as you possibly can 372 00:35:16,720 --> 00:35:24,800 right before the peel or the paper view in their case so you maximize by-reigns and with the way 373 00:35:24,800 --> 00:35:31,200 dynamite went through the entire show with the sit down to the finish I don't know how you top 374 00:35:31,200 --> 00:35:39,760 that to get people to buy the show to see what's going to happen so I think they did that angle about 375 00:35:39,760 --> 00:35:46,000 I mean you had brought it up a month ago like if this is what you're trying to get to start bringing up 376 00:35:46,000 --> 00:35:53,520 their past history a little bit more and maybe slowly burn it up to this level that we got to last 377 00:35:53,520 --> 00:36:00,480 Wednesday night but if you're going to if you're going to shotgun the entire history make it personal 378 00:36:00,480 --> 00:36:05,360 and then have a big payoff at the end if that was your goal I think they accomplished that on dynamite 379 00:36:06,960 --> 00:36:12,000 so now dr. Tray does Osprey have to beat Omega at Wembley 380 00:36:12,000 --> 00:36:21,600 yeah I just like you literally punk the guy out on dynamite you brought up his his kids 381 00:36:21,600 --> 00:36:26,800 Kenny pulled the get the security card which is a total heel move 382 00:36:26,800 --> 00:36:32,320 which you know you and I are talking about as if you got to make one guy look a little bit more like a 383 00:36:32,320 --> 00:36:42,000 heel just to get that 80% cheering 20% booing ratio then you put him through a table to close out the show 384 00:36:42,000 --> 00:36:49,280 like yeah like at this point it like that you and I talked about that for 15 years wrestling booking 101 385 00:36:49,280 --> 00:36:57,840 is whoever ends up on the short end before the pay-per-view usually goes over if Kenny wins in Wembley 386 00:36:59,040 --> 00:37:03,120 then I don't know when they're gonna ever put up their group they're gonna put Osprey on top because 387 00:37:03,120 --> 00:37:11,120 this would be this this screams Ospreys getting his win in Wembley with you know in the hometown 388 00:37:11,120 --> 00:37:16,880 everything else it screams this is the right time to pull the trick I feel like Omega Ospreys one 389 00:37:16,880 --> 00:37:21,120 of the most predictable matches in in some time you know a lot of say I mean home country 390 00:37:21,120 --> 00:37:26,960 the stuff whether they build an on dynamite which was very very well done on this past Wednesday night 391 00:37:26,960 --> 00:37:31,760 and I've talked about it here on the podcast the only way I don't think Osprey wins is if MJF wins 392 00:37:31,760 --> 00:37:36,240 the casino got in the battle royal then I think there's a real chance that he catches in to close 393 00:37:36,240 --> 00:37:43,440 out the show and we get that finish instead of like the adoring streamers you know confetti 394 00:37:43,440 --> 00:37:49,920 in the home country a Brit finally winning in Wembley that whole deal have you watched english soccer 395 00:37:49,920 --> 00:37:56,800 games if you pull that I know that's what I'm saying if you're a fan of the World Cup stay tuned 396 00:37:57,200 --> 00:38:04,560 so oh my gosh I think it's it was the one time I say the one time manchester united and arsenal 397 00:38:04,560 --> 00:38:10,480 tied together is Osprey getting screwed by MJF to close out the show let's look at the the women's 398 00:38:10,480 --> 00:38:15,360 championship match you got well night and yellow mercenias monee obviously Omega and Osprey wasn't 399 00:38:15,360 --> 00:38:19,600 the only all in championship program that got better this past Wednesday well night and yellow 400 00:38:19,600 --> 00:38:24,320 mercenias mone finally stopped making this feel like just champion versus challenger now it feels 401 00:38:24,320 --> 00:38:28,480 like these two women genuinely dislike each other willow went directly after Mercedes biggest 402 00:38:28,480 --> 00:38:33,680 insecurity mercenias can have the money the presentation the celebrity the championship 403 00:38:33,680 --> 00:38:38,880 but willow has something mercenias can't simply manufacture the connection with the crowd 404 00:38:38,880 --> 00:38:42,560 mercenias fired back by bringing up their history and portraying willow as someone who benefited 405 00:38:42,560 --> 00:38:47,360 from mercenias injury then they went looking for each other and had to be separated in a pull apart 406 00:38:47,360 --> 00:38:51,520 brawl which was awesome and then there's another wrinkle willow is defending the AW women's world 407 00:38:51,520 --> 00:38:56,960 championship against my world on collision before all in AW even acknowledge that technicality could 408 00:38:56,960 --> 00:39:02,480 be my heading to wembley to face mercenias instead we all assume where willow mercenias is the 409 00:39:02,480 --> 00:39:06,720 destination but at least they're creating some uncertainty which I don't think they should have done 410 00:39:06,720 --> 00:39:10,800 I think that was really bad short-sighted and almost like they forgot about it from a storyline 411 00:39:10,800 --> 00:39:14,800 standpoint there was no way dr. Shrey and I were gonna be like hey when I went she promised the 412 00:39:14,800 --> 00:39:20,800 match to my world I like my world as a person I'm not there yet as a character and professional wrestler 413 00:39:21,520 --> 00:39:26,560 the real story I think willow might be actually what mercenias needed mercenias always felt like a 414 00:39:26,560 --> 00:39:32,640 major star but sometimes for AW feuds haven't felt as emotionally important answer presentation willow 415 00:39:32,640 --> 00:39:38,080 is naturally likable enough that mercenias something meaningful to push against so dr. Shrey 416 00:39:38,080 --> 00:39:41,920 I ask you this and this paint I'm sure this is going to paint you to answer it especially if it goes 417 00:39:41,920 --> 00:39:47,440 in the way that some people are thinking should mercenias mone beat willow at all in 418 00:39:49,280 --> 00:39:56,960 yeah I mean she's your top star in the women's division most marketable person in women's division 419 00:39:56,960 --> 00:40:02,960 not to mention her best friend might be joining the company and that'd be a great rivalry to build off 420 00:40:02,960 --> 00:40:09,200 of coming out of this so if you're going to if you're gonna make them move we talked about it a 421 00:40:09,200 --> 00:40:15,600 year ago when she was the the TBS champion I'm like Mercedes made the TBS title feel more important 422 00:40:15,600 --> 00:40:22,000 than the women's world title because of her star power so if you're going to do this this once again 423 00:40:22,000 --> 00:40:28,800 is the right time to do it plus you know willow for the most part has had the better of Mercedes whether 424 00:40:28,800 --> 00:40:35,280 because the injuries or whatever it does feel like if if she's our most bankable star let's put our top 425 00:40:35,280 --> 00:40:40,480 title on her and let's see if she can help elevate the division since we don't have Tony Storm right 426 00:40:40,480 --> 00:40:46,800 now so with that said would a wb making mistake ending willow's championship brain no because it gives her 427 00:40:46,800 --> 00:40:52,560 credible willow still young like it still gives her credibility this is kind of an old wwe thing we 428 00:40:52,560 --> 00:40:58,160 talked about the money in the bank winners whether it was Jeff Hardy CM Pong Daniel Bryan they pull the 429 00:40:58,160 --> 00:41:03,280 trigger to get that young person a little bit of credibility so when they cycle them back up to 430 00:41:03,280 --> 00:41:08,960 that main event rivalry they always they already had that credibility built into it so it's a good way 431 00:41:09,600 --> 00:41:15,520 to keep willow as one of your top people even though she's at the belt by having her lose to arguably 432 00:41:15,520 --> 00:41:21,600 the top woman in the company it doesn't really hurt willow by losing this plus Mercedes is the 433 00:41:21,600 --> 00:41:27,040 heo she can cheat to win and nobody's gonna look down on willow for losing in that situation 434 00:41:27,040 --> 00:41:32,320 as willow become the opponent Mercedes needed to finally feel like one of aw's biggest attractions 435 00:41:34,560 --> 00:41:42,160 yeah because Tony left yeah i don't know if anybody else on the roster has the most organic connection 436 00:41:42,160 --> 00:41:48,080 with the audience that willow does like willow is just likable like you just her energy her 437 00:41:48,080 --> 00:41:54,160 bubbliness like you need if you're gonna have Mercedes be the top heel the most hated woman in the 438 00:41:54,160 --> 00:42:00,640 company you need somebody like willow to play off of and i don't know if anybody else in the 439 00:42:00,640 --> 00:42:05,920 women's vision a w is that likable like there's people we feel good about like you just mentioned like 440 00:42:05,920 --> 00:42:12,960 you like the myo world's story but you're not there there's a character yet um yeah because i can't 441 00:42:12,960 --> 00:42:18,880 you see her crowd reactions nobody cares no no because nobody really in even at this point Jeff 442 00:42:18,880 --> 00:42:26,480 nobody still knows who she is like she went from nowhere to number two in the company without any real 443 00:42:28,000 --> 00:42:33,360 credibility in the ring i'll put it that way like is she it's a great story house you know the race 444 00:42:33,360 --> 00:42:38,800 story or coming back from everything outside the ring but in ring she never proved anything 445 00:42:38,800 --> 00:42:47,520 Tony storm not being there i think Tony and willow are the two most likable characters in a w and 446 00:42:47,520 --> 00:42:52,000 Tony hasn't been around for nine months so it had to be willow everybody else is kind of 447 00:42:52,880 --> 00:42:58,400 and when it comes to likability all right final question you're wrapping up both of these big 448 00:42:58,400 --> 00:43:04,000 metal matches and we'll predict eight of you all in on next week's edition of SRTU which match 449 00:43:04,000 --> 00:43:07,920 currently has a stronger emotional build dodge right omega osprey or willow Mercedes 450 00:43:07,920 --> 00:43:13,680 omega osprey just because there's more history and they finally brought it up and then 451 00:43:13,680 --> 00:43:19,360 canny can play like you heard i think i don't know if you heard sure viney beret he like oh yeah canny
