- 0:09Speaker 2: The World's a Pigeon podcast. Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. Cal
- 0:20Speaker 2: you're looking good. You've been losing weight?
- 0:22Speaker 3: Are you on the os epics?
- 0:23Speaker 4: A lot of comment comments on his hat today.
- 0:24Speaker 2: He says, I know grammar and language come up sometimes,
- 0:27Speaker 2: so I figured i'd highlight a few oddities and errors
- 0:30Speaker 2: that you still make, Paul, picture is pronounced picture, not picture.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Bred the overuse of the word myself, Mike, your heavy
- 0:38Speaker 2: reliance on the phrase a little bit, he says, he
- 0:40Speaker 2: has no evan complaints.
- 0:42Speaker 3: You must be a barrel last us.
- 0:44Speaker 5: Lining up cadence between the quarterbacks and making sure everybody
- 0:48Speaker 5: is kind of doing it the same way is something
- 0:50Speaker 5: that they've been talking about.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Well, thanks for bringing us down the new studio. We're
- 0:54Speaker 2: gonna have three cameras, he was in pictures. We'll be
- 0:56Speaker 2: able to do those cutaways. Oh right, yeah, So let
- 1:02Speaker 2: me ask you a question about acquiring a stud wide
- 1:05Speaker 2: receiver because I think about football too sometimes.
- 1:08Speaker 1: This is Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Presented by Toyota's official website.
- 1:12Speaker 5: For deals, buy a Toyota dot Com.
- 1:16Speaker 2: All right, welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here
- 1:20Speaker 2: at Jillette Stadium and we're talking Patriots and maybe probably
- 1:26Speaker 2: a little bit Celtics. Maybe.
- 1:29Speaker 4: No, no, you can just take this show.
- 1:31Speaker 2: It is Game one of the Championship tonight tonight.
- 1:34Speaker 5: And you know, he literally said that to me yesterday.
- 1:38Speaker 2: But it's due. It's Evan, it's Paul, it's me, not myself,
- 1:44Speaker 2: but I have a something related to Patriots and Celtics.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Tom Brady voiced over hype video that got I saw
- 1:54Speaker 2: on on social media this morning. What did you guys
- 1:56Speaker 2: think of it?
- 1:57Speaker 5: It was awesome? Two great points. One Brady obviously to
- 2:02Speaker 5: the shade at the Knicks was hilarious. So good job
- 2:05Speaker 5: Ay as Helo media team. Because the Knicks, as out
- 2:08Speaker 5: of MSG after Game two of the second round of
- 2:10Speaker 5: the playoffs, were channing we want Boston like they had
- 2:12Speaker 5: already beaten the Pacers, and the Pacers ended up coming
- 2:15Speaker 5: back and beating the Knicks in the series. So they
- 2:17Speaker 5: threw a little shade in there at the Knicks, which
- 2:18Speaker 5: was fun.
- 2:20Speaker 4: I didn't see it, didn't shocking.
- 2:22Speaker 5: I'm dead.
- 2:25Speaker 4: You didn't either, Okay, all right, now I'm up to
- 2:27Speaker 4: my eyeballs and Brady stuff right now. So I'm I'm
- 2:29Speaker 4: just waiting for next week. That's that's my Brady.
- 2:32Speaker 3: I don't fred I did. I was aware of it.
- 2:36Speaker 3: I had seen that.
- 2:37Speaker 4: I was aware.
- 2:37Speaker 3: I just didn't actually watch the video. I always kind
- 2:40Speaker 3: of feel like.
- 2:43Speaker 6: That.
- 2:44Speaker 2: But I mean, the big line was, you know, something
- 2:47Speaker 2: along the lines of you know, you want Boston. What
- 2:50Speaker 2: was the line?
- 2:51Speaker 5: Not a good idea, yeah, take it from me, Not
- 2:53Speaker 5: a good idea of something like that. Yeah. So all
- 2:55Speaker 5: these places keep on channing we want Boston when they're
- 2:59Speaker 5: about to play the Celtics in the next round of
- 3:01Speaker 5: the playoffs, and the Celtics obviously keep winning. So that's
- 3:05Speaker 5: the the inside joke for the Celtics and the fans
- 3:08Speaker 5: is everybody wants Boston like the Celtics are.
- 3:10Speaker 4: Yeah, I understand that.
- 3:13Speaker 2: I thought it was okay.
- 3:14Speaker 7: I did see that he had done one. I saw
- 3:16Speaker 7: that on the Twitter. I just, like I said.
- 3:18Speaker 4: I was, I'm not totally clueless.
- 3:22Speaker 7: A lot of times, I'm the guy that legitimately has
- 3:25Speaker 7: no idea what everybody else is talking about.
- 3:26Speaker 3: Okay, I thought it.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Was okay, you know, Brady's Brady like.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Not a great voice, I mean, no offense, but like
- 3:35Speaker 4: I love him, but I.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Can understand, like for the star power, why you would
- 3:40Speaker 2: go after Brady, No doubt you know great yet, but
- 3:44Speaker 2: there's a guy in their fold who I think could
- 3:47Speaker 2: have done it better as Kevin Garnett. Kevin Garnett might
- 3:51Speaker 2: be the best athlete actor that came out of the NBA.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Like he kills it in his commercials Kareem.
- 3:59Speaker 4: You see Kareem and Airplane. That's pretty good.
- 4:01Speaker 5: Shack and Shack is a promoter the g He's not.
- 4:05Speaker 4: A great actor, Shack of Genie and something.
- 4:08Speaker 2: But but I think I think Kevin gar I really
- 4:12Speaker 2: think Kevin Garnett got chops and I think he would
- 4:15Speaker 2: have been really good. And he's won a championship, you know.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I think they might have overlooked him.
- 4:21Speaker 5: But that was my one takeaway from it too, was
- 4:24Speaker 5: you're the Celtics, right, you have all your own, all
- 4:27Speaker 5: these champions that right in your family. It could have
- 4:31Speaker 5: been Garnet, it could have been Pierced. I mean, Larry
- 4:34Speaker 5: Bird doesn't really do stuff with the Celtics anymore.
- 4:36Speaker 2: On because he wouldn't sound good.
- 4:38Speaker 5: Yeah, and obviously Bill Russell is no longer with us
- 4:41Speaker 5: R I p SO.
- 4:43Speaker 2: But Garnett to me was the guy that's who I
- 4:45Speaker 2: would have.
- 4:45Speaker 4: Used so intense.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I like it.
- 4:47Speaker 4: Fred. I think you're right you should write a strongly.
- 4:50Speaker 5: Worded but I thought that i'd like the video over all,
- 4:54Speaker 5: though I don't.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Yeah, got hype. I love that. You know, the Celtics
- 4:58Speaker 2: are just pumping it out right now you're in the finals.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Celebrate that, Yeah, you know, you don't have to wait
- 5:04Speaker 2: until you win it. Celebrate the fact that you're in
- 5:07Speaker 2: the finals.
- 5:07Speaker 4: You know, Young Evan Lazars over it though, I mean
- 5:09Speaker 4: yesterday he's like they're doing media day now, like can
- 5:12Speaker 4: we just get to it? Like he's over it. He
- 5:14Speaker 4: wants to get to the game.
- 5:15Speaker 2: So the NFL can do two weeks before to do
- 5:19Speaker 2: one day.
- 5:20Speaker 5: You know, No, all of it's too much, all of
- 5:24Speaker 5: it's too much. But they didn't. They set the schedule
- 5:28Speaker 5: for the finals that the finals are going to begin tonight,
- 5:30Speaker 5: no matter what happened in the East and West finals, right,
- 5:33Speaker 5: so it was always going to begin tonight. Obviously if
- 5:36Speaker 5: they one of those a series had gone in seven games,
- 5:38Speaker 5: we wouldn't have been in this situation. But they both
- 5:41Speaker 5: ended early, and so now we've been sitting here for
- 5:44Speaker 5: I think eight days since there's been a basketball game.
- 5:47Speaker 2: I know, but there's a lot of logistics in terms
- 5:49Speaker 2: of like planning the venue, you know, getting employees, working
- 5:53Speaker 2: hotel space, you know. So I get it. I get
- 5:56Speaker 2: it that you want to have this thing planned in
- 5:58Speaker 2: advance in terms of the date that the finals are
- 6:00Speaker 2: going to start.
- 6:01Speaker 5: I get it. I just don't I don't think that
- 6:04Speaker 5: that's how it's supposed to be. Like it's basketball, and
- 6:07Speaker 5: I don't think you're it's not the super Bowl, Like
- 6:09Speaker 5: you're not supposed to have two weeks off before it.
- 6:11Speaker 5: I just that's all. But yeah, it is what it is.
- 6:14Speaker 7: I have less of a problem with the I mean, obviously,
- 6:17Speaker 7: Evan's right because if the two series went seven games,
- 6:20Speaker 7: you wouldn't be talking about this long wait because with
- 6:23Speaker 7: the finals still would have started tonight, right. So that's
- 6:27Speaker 7: you know, unlucky on the on the NBA's part, that
- 6:31Speaker 7: that both series in the conference finals. You don't expect
- 6:34Speaker 7: two very short series in your conference finals. But that's
- 6:37Speaker 7: what they got. I have a much bigger problem with
- 6:39Speaker 7: the schedule for the finals themselves, which you know is
- 6:42Speaker 7: going to take longer than that break between the games. Well,
- 6:45Speaker 7: I think that that's I think that's absurd, right, And
- 6:46Speaker 7: I think that My point is is that the two
- 6:49Speaker 7: things combine, because I agree with you completely. We're we're
- 6:52Speaker 7: basically going to have like a month before we crown
- 6:54Speaker 7: a champion in this thing, and we've known who the
- 6:56Speaker 7: two teams are for a week already, and then it's
- 6:59Speaker 7: going to be three week weeks from now until the
- 7:01Speaker 7: you know, a game.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Actually, do you think they play in a week?
- 7:05Speaker 4: I mean they should probably play four no three?
- 7:08Speaker 2: I think three four two or three? Yeah, two to
- 7:11Speaker 2: two a week, depending on like when the first game
- 7:13Speaker 2: two to three?
- 7:14Speaker 7: You think it's right to play two games in a
- 7:16Speaker 7: whole week, seven day span. Yeah, I guess I'm wrong.
- 7:20Speaker 7: I don't know they're playing three like they're playing Thursday, Sunday, Wednesday.
- 7:25Speaker 7: I think that's petentlly absurd in my opinion, three game
- 7:28Speaker 7: three days off between games, like, well, bang.
- 7:30Speaker 4: The first two out and in two days, right, I
- 7:33Speaker 4: just play?
- 7:34Speaker 3: It should be every other day, like, just play.
- 7:37Speaker 7: Well, I understand, maybe give an extra day for travel, Yeah,
- 7:40Speaker 7: but what the extra day, Like tonight is Game one
- 7:43Speaker 7: and then Game two Sunday, they're not going anywhere. Game
- 7:46Speaker 7: one and Game two were both in Boston.
- 7:47Speaker 2: That's a little too long.
- 7:48Speaker 5: I don't know why we're not playing game two on
- 7:49Speaker 5: Saturday night.
- 7:50Speaker 4: They're going to unleash Kyrie in Boston on Friday and
- 7:52Speaker 4: Saturday nights. Maybe that's the point.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I think they should be an extra day for travel,
- 7:56Speaker 2: But if it's a home game, the most it should
- 7:58Speaker 2: be is a day in between.
- 8:00Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, and then two to go to Dallas.
- 8:02Speaker 2: And yeah, exactly. So anyway, I just thought i'd bring
- 8:05Speaker 2: out to Brady think because I saw that today and
- 8:07Speaker 2: it was related to the Patriots.
- 8:08Speaker 3: And you tied it in nice you know.
- 8:11Speaker 4: I was just thinking, like, how do they get Brady?
- 8:12Speaker 4: How many hoops they have to jump through to get Brady?
- 8:15Speaker 4: Like that's where my head's piece is at right now.
- 8:17Speaker 3: My guess was I just say, hey, Tom, can you
- 8:19Speaker 3: do this?
- 8:19Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 8:19Speaker 2: Sure? Well that does lead into Brady Day next Wednesday.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Can't wait.
- 8:25Speaker 4: Yeah, it's weather's looking okay too. I don't want to
- 8:27Speaker 4: jinx it, but I have been keeping an eye on
- 8:29Speaker 4: the weather. That's a big part of it, but yeah's
- 8:31Speaker 4: it seems like it's all coming together, a lot of
- 8:33Speaker 4: people putting a lot of work into it.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a big thing.
- 8:36Speaker 4: Yeah, Yeah, exciting.
- 8:38Speaker 2: It's going to be worth your time, whether you're here
- 8:41Speaker 2: or watching it on Patriots dot Com or YouTube where
- 8:44Speaker 2: we're gonna stream it live. I think you're gonna find
- 8:47Speaker 2: it well worth your time.
- 8:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I think so too. Yeah, but I will be
- 8:51Speaker 4: happy when it's all over. I think a week from
- 8:53Speaker 4: today we're going to be in a good spot and
- 8:55Speaker 4: we feel like all right, yeah, a little bit of
- 8:57Speaker 4: a break now, then we have training you know, a
- 8:59Speaker 4: little Bria before training camp, but it's uf you are
- 9:02Speaker 4: lost off season.
- 9:03Speaker 2: I think it's going to be very busy for us because,
- 9:05Speaker 2: in addition to like working the event and using it
- 9:08Speaker 2: as a content opportunity, we're doing a live broadcast from
- 9:12Speaker 2: mini camp practice, right, so we'll be doing that plus
- 9:15Speaker 2: all the other things. So it's going to be a
- 9:17Speaker 2: wild day here at Ullett Stadium.
- 9:19Speaker 4: Now you didn't like my twenty four hour network idea
- 9:21Speaker 4: in there? Seven am I wish.
- 9:23Speaker 2: And they've done that. Then they're done that, Mike.
- 9:25Speaker 4: Yeah, we just swing the cameras around like right in
- 9:28Speaker 4: back of us.
- 9:28Speaker 7: There can be movement in the power rankings between you two.
- 9:32Speaker 7: Better watch yourself over there.
- 9:33Speaker 4: I didn't realize the scars run so deep from the
- 9:36Speaker 4: not done network many grande.
- 9:38Speaker 2: It would have been better if we had won the game.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, or you know, had time to do absolutely
- 9:44Speaker 3: anything else.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Well, I mean that's why you're there. Work work, super
- 9:49Speaker 2: Bowl cover it? Yeah, all right? What else? What else
- 9:53Speaker 2: we got?
- 9:53Speaker 5: What else we got?
- 9:54Speaker 2: We had a signing yesterday, yeah, just.
- 9:56Speaker 4: Uh yeah Ellen Robinson, just Jalen Polk from the signees.
- 10:01Speaker 4: So hopefully that'll be all resolved shortly.
- 10:03Speaker 2: You know. As soon as Robinson got sign you know,
- 10:06Speaker 2: the comments were, what's up with Poke? What's going on
- 10:09Speaker 2: with him? Is there cause to be worried?
- 10:11Speaker 4: Oh?
- 10:12Speaker 5: We should all panic about it.
- 10:14Speaker 4: Right See?
- 10:14Speaker 7: Sometimes my algorithm being out of whack. Oh you got
- 10:17Speaker 7: some benefits me because I haven't. Thank god I haven't
- 10:20Speaker 7: been subjected to that.
- 10:21Speaker 3: I would have left.
- 10:22Speaker 5: We did this every off season with the rookies, and
- 10:24Speaker 5: I understand not everybody knows the baducia of these rookie contracts,
- 10:28Speaker 5: but the holdouts are so so rare now and it's
- 10:33Speaker 5: only usually high high draft picks. You don't see second
- 10:37Speaker 5: round picks holding out because it's all it's all basically slotted, slotted.
- 10:42Speaker 5: Every once in a while you'll see a Roquan Smith,
- 10:45Speaker 5: Joey Bosa, but those guys were and.
- 10:48Speaker 2: What do they hold out for? Because it can't be for.
- 10:50Speaker 5: Money, it's it's the schedule is a big thing of
- 10:53Speaker 5: when they get paid. So you're like, you're signing bonus
- 10:57Speaker 5: when it gets paid out in the schedule, and you know,
- 10:59Speaker 5: obviously the player wants it as much upfront as possible.
- 11:02Speaker 5: The teams might want to separate it into installments, so
- 11:06Speaker 5: you're negotiating how long it's going to take for you
- 11:08Speaker 5: to get your signing boats.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, okay.
- 11:10Speaker 7: I think it's there's also offset language in some of them,
- 11:14Speaker 7: and I'm not positive on this, and maybe we can
- 11:17Speaker 7: get if Miguel is listening, and I know sometimes he does.
- 11:21Speaker 7: I think there's a there's a I think it's the
- 11:23Speaker 7: second round or the third round.
- 11:24Speaker 3: It's one of those Day two.
- 11:26Speaker 7: There's a weird round that some guys get it, some
- 11:30Speaker 7: guys don't, and the ones that don't sometimes the last
- 11:34Speaker 7: to sign.
- 11:34Speaker 5: So the you know, the fourth year of Jalen Polk's
- 11:39Speaker 5: contract is negotiable. How much guaranteed money he's going to
- 11:41Speaker 5: have in his fourth year. Okay, so Drake may gets
- 11:44Speaker 5: four years fully guaranteed because he's a first round pick,
- 11:47Speaker 5: but Jalen Polk doesn't, and he can negotiate. Is it
- 11:50Speaker 5: fifty percent, is it twenty five percent? Whatever? So that
- 11:53Speaker 5: Paul's right, that's probably a big part of the bad asset.
- 11:56Speaker 2: All rookies have a minimum of three appearances on Patriot
- 11:59Speaker 2: and Filtered.
- 12:00Speaker 4: Wondering if that there, you know, they want it, they
- 12:03Speaker 4: want more.
- 12:03Speaker 3: That could factor just they want a co host.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Just a joke, Just a joke, everybody.
- 12:08Speaker 5: I actually learned something new this offseason.
- 12:11Speaker 2: You know, writing in clauses that would happen if you
- 12:15Speaker 2: Sports Boston.
- 12:16Speaker 3: That's what happens.
- 12:17Speaker 5: I didn't realize the joke wasn't over it.
- 12:20Speaker 4: Come on, Tim, I'm sorry, go ahead, what do you have?
- 12:25Speaker 5: I learned something new this offseason though, about the waivers
- 12:27Speaker 5: that the players sign before they signed their rookie contract
- 12:30Speaker 5: to participate in rookie mini camp OTAs things like that.
- 12:34Speaker 5: So apparently you sign a waiver and in the waiver
- 12:38Speaker 5: it says that the team would agree to play to
- 12:41Speaker 5: pay a certain amount of money that they were already
- 12:43Speaker 5: going to pay you once the deal, your rookie contract
- 12:46Speaker 5: gets done. So there's a little bit of a you know,
- 12:49Speaker 5: a lot of people say, oh, sorry, they just out there,
- 12:51Speaker 5: you know, like no lifeguard on duty, like, you know,
- 12:53Speaker 5: don't get hurt, right, But they actually do sign a
- 12:56Speaker 5: waiver that would give them some money if God forbid,
- 12:59Speaker 5: some tears his a cl in a mini camp practice
- 13:02Speaker 5: or something like that. They they're not completely out there
- 13:05Speaker 5: without making any money.
- 13:06Speaker 3: McKenzie mackenzie towards a c at rookie mini camp.
- 13:10Speaker 4: I believe.
- 13:10Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, guys get paid the contract that they would
- 13:14Speaker 7: have normally gotten, Like, you know, even the you know,
- 13:18Speaker 7: like the event of a catastrophic like career render, you
- 13:22Speaker 7: would still get what you would would have been entitled to.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Speaking of injuries in practice, the Chiefs had a canctice today.
- 13:31Speaker 2: What happened? Had I had a seizure team meeting?
- 13:34Speaker 4: Yeah, it was Tom Pellisera. The Chiefs canceled all team
- 13:37Speaker 4: activities today after a backup defensive lineman had a seizure
- 13:40Speaker 4: in a special teams meeting and went into cardiac arrest.
- 13:43Speaker 4: The team's medical staff were quickly. Enablance was called and
- 13:46Speaker 4: the player is currently in stable condition.
- 13:48Speaker 3: That's scary.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Yeah, so all team activities canceled.
- 13:54Speaker 3: It's been a pretty eventful offseason for the Chiefs.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, good and bad.
- 14:00Speaker 7: Yeah, Yeah, I'm not sure there's much good good interest.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:04Speaker 7: I mean it's like that's obviously a significant thing you've got,
- 14:07Speaker 7: you know, you're you know, second year receiver has been
- 14:12Speaker 7: in trouble off the field and rice and even it's
- 14:16Speaker 7: like a kind of a weird, uh, I don't know,
- 14:19Speaker 7: social media thing that Xavier Worthy had making the rounds
- 14:23Speaker 7: like last week, I think catching some static for that.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Keep it coming, Keep it coming.
- 14:28Speaker 5: Patrick mahomes is fat.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Bring him back down to the.
- 14:33Speaker 5: Means, bring him back.
- 14:35Speaker 2: To the pack.
- 14:36Speaker 5: Patrick mahomes Is walking into the facility had a backpack on,
- 14:39Speaker 5: so his shirt was like pulled up against his and
- 14:42Speaker 5: he had a little bit of you know, he has
- 14:43Speaker 5: a little bit, he's got a little belly, a little
- 14:46Speaker 5: little Yeah. There were some people were were not happy
- 14:50Speaker 5: about it, but.
- 14:50Speaker 4: That way, I mean, it is interesting because Brittany Grady's longevity.
- 14:55Speaker 4: I mean, how many of the records and titles and
- 14:57Speaker 4: everything that he got was you know, simply because of
- 15:00Speaker 4: his longevity that he was able to play for so long.
- 15:01Speaker 4: You know, is Mahome's going to have that same kind
- 15:04Speaker 4: of level or you know, or any of these kind
- 15:05Speaker 4: of young quarterbacks have that kind of crazy you know.
- 15:10Speaker 4: And I know Brady became obsessive at a certain point
- 15:12Speaker 4: with you know, his body and Alex and you know,
- 15:15Speaker 4: I mean look at him now. I mean he still
- 15:17Speaker 4: looks like he's in outstanding shape and I'm not. I
- 15:20Speaker 4: mean we kind of joke about Patrick Mahomes like I
- 15:22Speaker 4: don't think like, oh, he's going to just get fat
- 15:23Speaker 4: and suck, but you know, it is it is a
- 15:26Speaker 4: thing where if you're not in great shape or you
- 15:27Speaker 4: don't have that kind of next level, how you know,
- 15:29Speaker 4: are you going to be able to play to forty five?
- 15:31Speaker 4: I mean that that that might be asking a lot.
- 15:32Speaker 4: Even with the obscene amount of talent that that Patrick
- 15:35Speaker 4: Mahomes has.
- 15:36Speaker 5: I mean, you can't ignore that guy.
- 15:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, that's why football can't ignore the doughnuts.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Apparently, that's why football is such a brutal sport. Frustrating
- 15:45Speaker 2: is because the chances of injury are high high, you know.
- 15:50Speaker 4: And it's it's best laid plans. I mean, how many
- 15:51Speaker 4: seasons you know, you guys did it where it was
- 15:54Speaker 4: one or two key injuries that maybe you know, I mean,
- 15:56Speaker 4: even the eleven team, as bad as they were, if
- 15:58Speaker 4: Andre Carter didn't get hurt, you know, I mean there's
- 16:00Speaker 4: you know, there's a couple I mean, Gronk and twenty thirteen.
- 16:03Speaker 4: I thought, you know, I like eleven sacks and he
- 16:08Speaker 4: got injured the third to last game of the season.
- 16:10Speaker 3: No, no, I'm not.
- 16:11Speaker 7: I didn't say it was like ridiculous. I'm saying that's
- 16:14Speaker 7: it's a good poll.
- 16:15Speaker 5: It was the year that Vince got.
- 16:17Speaker 4: Hurt thirteen, him and him and the other guy that
- 16:20Speaker 4: they had on the inside, I forget his name right now,
- 16:22Speaker 4: but they both got hurt against Cincy. I think, yeah,
- 16:27Speaker 4: there was another It might have been brand Was that
- 16:29Speaker 4: pre Branch I don't know, you know, they always had
- 16:32Speaker 4: wil Fork and another guy in the middle. I forget it
- 16:33Speaker 4: was Branch By fourteen, I don't know if it was,
- 16:35Speaker 4: but I feel like they lost too of those guys
- 16:37Speaker 4: and then they had, uh, what were those two rookies
- 16:39Speaker 4: names that they that they threw in there, Chris something
- 16:43Speaker 4: Chris Jones. I think he was a Christian Valentine, but
- 16:47Speaker 4: they had.
- 16:48Speaker 3: Just remember him to Chris Jones.
- 16:50Speaker 4: I mean, twenty.
- 16:50Speaker 7: Thirteen, Chris Jones blocked the field goal right against That's good, yeah,
- 16:53Speaker 7: good call.
- 16:54Speaker 5: But I remember Vince because the head incredible. The headline
- 16:58Speaker 5: of like the Globe or one of the big papers
- 17:00Speaker 5: was like when a tree falls in the forest or
- 17:02Speaker 5: something like that. It was like just a picture of
- 17:04Speaker 5: Vince on the ground. And I just remember at that
- 17:07Speaker 5: time thinking, well, I don't know if they're gonna win
- 17:08Speaker 5: the Super Bowl without Vince.
- 17:09Speaker 4: I mean there's yeah, I mean, somebody if that's but
- 17:12Speaker 4: I think that's what the Chiefs. You know, they've had
- 17:13Speaker 4: a good couple of years. I mean, and obviously Patrick
- 17:15Speaker 4: Mahomes has been outstanding, but you know, it's as you
- 17:17Speaker 4: get to a certain point where how you know, Travis
- 17:19Speaker 4: Kelsey gets hurt at the end of the year, like
- 17:21Speaker 4: those kind of things, just you would win a Super
- 17:23Speaker 4: Bowl if it wasn't for one or two key injuries.
- 17:25Speaker 4: And that's yeah, you know, something that was frustrating for
- 17:27Speaker 4: the Patriots. I mean, they went ten years without a
- 17:28Speaker 4: title when it was a lot of that that kind
- 17:30Speaker 4: of stuff. I mean that definitely a talent dip eight
- 17:34Speaker 4: oh nine and then ten you kind of got some
- 17:36Speaker 4: of it back, but you know it, you can go
- 17:38Speaker 4: a while. So I don't know, we'll see what story
- 17:41Speaker 4: the chiefs, right yep.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Oh, I mean there's plenty of games the Patriots would
- 17:45Speaker 2: have won, right Paul.
- 17:46Speaker 5: Yeah, if you just had and like ten rings.
- 17:49Speaker 2: And eleven, if Gronk was one hundred percent.
- 17:51Speaker 4: Yeah, there you go. Yeah, that's a way. That's a
- 17:54Speaker 4: good one.
- 17:54Speaker 3: I don't know about that.
- 17:55Speaker 7: But six Chicago super Bowl, if you didn't blow the
- 17:58Speaker 7: twenty one to three lead, that's one. You can say chocolate,
- 18:01Speaker 7: no way they were but no way they were losing
- 18:03Speaker 7: the shite.
- 18:04Speaker 2: No, I agree, But I'm talking about like because of injuries.
- 18:07Speaker 5: You lost even agreed, I agree.
- 18:10Speaker 3: So yeah, I mean I just think that's a good one.
- 18:15Speaker 3: The defense stunk. They lost because of the defense.
- 18:18Speaker 7: They lost because the other team's quarterback went thirty if
- 18:20Speaker 7: scored what they scored every time they had the ball,
- 18:23Speaker 7: Like you can't like the other team had the ball
- 18:26Speaker 7: the whole game, like Eli Manning with thirty for forty.
- 18:29Speaker 3: Was Gronk going to prevent that?
- 18:32Speaker 2: Yeah, you would have would have stretched out some drives
- 18:34Speaker 2: and they would have had.
- 18:34Speaker 7: The drives were stretchers that could be Brady completed, like
- 18:37Speaker 7: twenty passes in a row.
- 18:38Speaker 3: In the first pass was a safety.
- 18:40Speaker 7: Yeah, okay, Yeah, I didn't say he was absolutely balls perfect, Okay,
- 18:44Speaker 7: but like.
- 18:44Speaker 2: They would have won the game. Plot just admit it.
- 18:46Speaker 3: I just don't know what he would have done to
- 18:48Speaker 3: prevent the other team from possessing the ball for forty
- 18:50Speaker 3: would have done The Patriots scored every time they had it.
- 18:53Speaker 2: He would have done something. Yeah, he would have done something.
- 18:57Speaker 3: They just don't know how much more than the mass maximum.
- 18:59Speaker 3: You can cool.
- 19:00Speaker 2: It puts more pressure on the other team. It's a
- 19:02Speaker 2: psychological thing.
- 19:03Speaker 7: Okay, I'll give you one. Maybe they would have thrown
- 19:05Speaker 7: it to him instead of Welker the end. Okay, he'll
- 19:08Speaker 7: give you that.
- 19:09Speaker 3: That's one time they didn't score.
- 19:11Speaker 7: What was the year Welker towards a cl oh nine
- 19:13Speaker 7: oh nine, who said that team was, that team wasn't
- 19:15Speaker 7: gone anywhere, but then Edelman twenty fifteen, right, twenty fifteen, Edelman,
- 19:20Speaker 7: that could have made a difference, That could be one.
- 19:22Speaker 7: That team was, That could have been one, But that team.
- 19:24Speaker 5: Was ten or eleven and oh right to start the
- 19:27Speaker 5: year in twenty I just I just fell fifteen.
- 19:28Speaker 7: There were a lot of problems, but they were they
- 19:31Speaker 7: were and they really but they lost to them like
- 19:35Speaker 7: a team that was very flawed in Denver.
- 19:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:37Speaker 7: Yeah, it was a great defense, obviously, but it was
- 19:40Speaker 7: a very flawed team.
- 19:42Speaker 5: It was.
- 19:42Speaker 3: And I think Edelman might have been enough.
- 19:44Speaker 2: I said at the time, Peyton Manning did everything he
- 19:46Speaker 2: could to help them lose.
- 19:47Speaker 3: I think they had Oh no, he was fine, it
- 19:49Speaker 3: was I think I think were two touchdowns in the
- 19:51Speaker 3: first half was his best game by far.
- 19:53Speaker 7: In the playoffs, there were a lot of Julianiman was
- 19:55Speaker 7: twenty seventeen, It wasn't fifteen, but he was never mind
- 19:59Speaker 7: remember Dean Lewis in twenty fifteen.
- 20:01Speaker 4: Yeah he got her in the playass But but Edelman
- 20:03Speaker 4: had gotten hurt for a period and I think he
- 20:05Speaker 4: just came back for that first playoff game against Kansas City,
- 20:08Speaker 4: and you know, I remember the funny like gift of
- 20:10Speaker 4: Gronk and Edelman like high fiving, like they were both
- 20:13Speaker 4: practiced and practice practice.
- 20:15Speaker 3: I don't remember.
- 20:16Speaker 2: It was like they stayed.
- 20:17Speaker 4: Yeah, and Edelman was just shaking his head like ronk.
- 20:21Speaker 4: That was for the media.
- 20:22Speaker 5: Oh, it was awesome.
- 20:23Speaker 3: I do I have CTE.
- 20:25Speaker 2: I have to.
- 20:25Speaker 4: Like.
- 20:25Speaker 7: As soon as you said that, I was like, oh,
- 20:27Speaker 7: that's a good one because they could have easily won that.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Well he played in that game, idiot.
- 20:30Speaker 4: Well that was That was one of the lines that
- 20:32Speaker 4: we put into the schedule release was Ernie saying super
- 20:36Speaker 4: Bowl fifty two wasn't your fall, right, so you know,
- 20:39Speaker 4: and that was the implication that if he had played
- 20:42Speaker 4: that that, you know, they might win, which I'm kind
- 20:44Speaker 4: of surprised, to be honest that I thought maybe some
- 20:46Speaker 4: people would pick up on that and kind of look
- 20:48Speaker 4: at it because coming off of the Dynasty where you
- 20:50Speaker 4: kind of had Roberts say he pinned that one on,
- 20:53Speaker 4: you know, I didn't. I was surprised not to see
- 20:55Speaker 4: anybody kind of be like, well, what did they mean
- 20:57Speaker 4: by that? Were they getting at?
- 20:58Speaker 8: Like?
- 20:58Speaker 4: No, it was actually, you know, I'm surprised that there
- 21:01Speaker 4: was no controversy around that.
- 21:02Speaker 7: I mean people probably took it seriously, like, no, the
- 21:06Speaker 7: quarterback through for five hundred yard just going every time
- 21:08Speaker 7: you got it, you lot shoot out r right, kind
- 21:10Speaker 7: of hard to blame that, right, You probably could have
- 21:13Speaker 7: played corners, but in.
- 21:14Speaker 4: The psychology the character Paul Edelman would have felt as
- 21:17Speaker 4: if he could have given them those.
- 21:19Speaker 5: Well, it is disappointing as a as a fan that
- 21:22Speaker 5: Brandon Cooks Julian Edelman goronk like the team that they
- 21:24Speaker 5: put together in twenty seventeen would have been a wagon
- 21:27Speaker 5: and we never got to see it.
- 21:28Speaker 4: But I mean within the context of the Dynasty now though,
- 21:31Speaker 4: like you see, part of the reason why is that
- 21:33Speaker 4: they were all kind of like hating each other by
- 21:35Speaker 4: that point, and there was a lot of tension going
- 21:37Speaker 4: on with the team, and you know, it's hard, it's
- 21:38Speaker 4: hard to look back at those teams and not kind
- 21:40Speaker 4: of see it for me a little bit through more
- 21:42Speaker 4: of that lens, Whereas before you watch the Dynasty, it
- 21:45Speaker 4: was just kind of like, I don't know, there were
- 21:46Speaker 4: stuff going on. I don't know for sure, but now
- 21:48Speaker 4: it you know, it's like, yeah, they were, they were
- 21:50Speaker 4: all in it.
- 21:51Speaker 2: A lot of people since of backtrack because now they're
- 21:54Speaker 2: kind of regretting having spoken out that way, you know,
- 21:58Speaker 2: but it happened. Happened. All the things that were rumored
- 22:02Speaker 2: were true.
- 22:04Speaker 4: You know, speaking what you see Bill uh Living his
- 22:07Speaker 4: best life in Croatia.
- 22:08Speaker 2: Yeah, now he's a citizen.
- 22:12Speaker 4: There giving him T shirts. He's just he's making the
- 22:14Speaker 4: rounds with lucad Who's that.
- 22:18Speaker 5: They're like best soccer player Sea soccer.
- 22:20Speaker 3: Now do they play lacrosse?
- 22:22Speaker 4: Then?
- 22:23Speaker 5: I talk about across?
- 22:24Speaker 3: I think the Sharon team, So I wonder did Yeah.
- 22:29Speaker 4: Timber Wolves of Walpole took down the Sharon Eagles.
- 22:32Speaker 5: Round two is tough.
- 22:35Speaker 7: When did this happen? Interesting? I did not receive a
- 22:40Speaker 7: visit today.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Update on Brian Morey's baseball. What do we got? They're
- 22:45Speaker 2: now into the Elite eight. They had another wing.
- 22:47Speaker 3: Seriously, that's pretty cool.
- 22:48Speaker 4: What division is a sandwich?
- 22:51Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 22:52Speaker 2: But they I'm told the next picture that they're going
- 22:55Speaker 2: to face throws a nine pounds.
- 22:57Speaker 4: See, that's the whole thing with high school ball. But
- 22:59Speaker 4: I love the Elite eight. I did bunch of a
- 23:01Speaker 4: few of those. They don't do it anymore, but the
- 23:02Speaker 4: Elite eight what they used to do at the Brockton Rocks,
- 23:04Speaker 4: it was awesome. I mean, you know, I didn't.
- 23:08Speaker 5: Anymore. It's a full state you're talking.
- 23:12Speaker 4: They did one for baseball, used to do it double
- 23:15Speaker 4: elimination and but it was they had two Northeastern pictures
- 23:19Speaker 4: that you know, it's that hairy thing in high school
- 23:21Speaker 4: baseball where like if.
- 23:22Speaker 3: You're a good picture.
- 23:24Speaker 4: And Cam Schlittler, who the first time I heard the
- 23:28Speaker 4: announcers say that last name, I'm like that that's not
- 23:30Speaker 4: his last name. I'm like, he's from no. I mean,
- 23:33Speaker 4: he's one l away from just having the worst last
- 23:36Speaker 4: name of all time? Like, what do you call him?
- 23:38Speaker 2: Schlittler? Hey, Patriots fans, if you want to see Toyota's
- 23:42Speaker 2: best offers, including those not seen on TV, go to
- 23:44Speaker 2: buy at toyota dot com. It's Toyota's official website for
- 23:48Speaker 2: deals from the official vehicle the New England Patriots, Toyota.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Let's go to the Elite eight sandwich and when you're there,
- 23:55Speaker 2: though moderate, easy to drink, easy to enjoy, but light,
- 24:00Speaker 2: official beer sponsor of the New England Patriots.
- 24:02Speaker 3: So did you get a chance to talk to Brian
- 24:04Speaker 3: about this? Like he told you about the.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Well I went. I went to the game before, so
- 24:09Speaker 2: I watched the ten nothing game, but I didn't see
- 24:11Speaker 2: the last game that they played. Okay, he just texted.
- 24:14Speaker 7: Me, So, I mean that's that's on the coach you're
- 24:18Speaker 7: facing a fireball pitcher. Yeah, there's ways.
- 24:21Speaker 3: To get your team prepared for that.
- 24:23Speaker 2: What's that make him hit better?
- 24:25Speaker 3: You have someone throw from about forty feet as hard
- 24:28Speaker 3: as he can.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Are you saying that you're going to help out?
- 24:31Speaker 3: Am I going to?
- 24:32Speaker 7: No?
- 24:33Speaker 9: No?
- 24:33Speaker 7: What I want to know if he has the wherewithal
- 24:35Speaker 7: to prepare his team for velocity that they probably haven't experience.
- 24:40Speaker 2: That's that's good. So you have the guy throw from
- 24:42Speaker 2: half distance.
- 24:42Speaker 7: I mean, that's that's that's exaggerating a little bit. But
- 24:46Speaker 7: you need someone, yeah, to throw pump fast strikes from
- 24:50Speaker 7: closer than.
- 24:51Speaker 3: Sixty feet six inches to get your team prepared.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Makes sense.
- 24:54Speaker 4: I just I want Brian here right now, like this
- 24:56Speaker 4: whole time wonderful.
- 24:58Speaker 7: You will tell him that, and he would tell me that,
- 24:59Speaker 7: why that's stupid, is what he would do. I would say,
- 25:02Speaker 7: it's a tale as old as tied, and then the
- 25:04Speaker 7: three of us are just jack up the pitching machine
- 25:08Speaker 7: from close range.
- 25:09Speaker 2: I will say. And you know we're talking about Brian
- 25:11Speaker 2: because you used to be a member of the show.
- 25:13Speaker 2: I watched his warm up. He's a really good fun
- 25:15Speaker 2: go hitter.
- 25:16Speaker 3: Oh, it's a definite skill.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Yeah, he's really good. I got everything where he wanted
- 25:23Speaker 2: it to the out.
- 25:27Speaker 4: I'm not. I'm only the third is this I do?
- 25:29Speaker 4: I have gotten pretty good a throwing VP though, but
- 25:32Speaker 4: I didn't know that he's pretty.
- 25:33Speaker 5: Good at it. It's a different kind of bat.
- 25:34Speaker 4: He's got one of those bats with like where it
- 25:36Speaker 4: comes back out again, like one of those bats you
- 25:38Speaker 4: know I'm talking about. It's like you got the handle
- 25:40Speaker 4: and then it comes out and then it goes back into.
- 25:41Speaker 5: Like a regular that's a softball bat.
- 25:44Speaker 4: No, no, no, it's talking. It's like a training that
- 25:47Speaker 4: it's yeah.
- 25:48Speaker 3: Okay, it's an angle. I know what you're talking. It's
- 25:50Speaker 3: for bat speed.
- 25:52Speaker 2: I hate it that they all have to use aluminum bats.
- 25:55Speaker 2: I think you should as a player, you should have
- 25:57Speaker 2: your choice and if you want to bring your own bat,
- 25:59Speaker 2: you can bring your own bat.
- 26:01Speaker 3: If it's would they all bring their own bat?
- 26:03Speaker 2: They? Oh yeah, Well why is it all aluminum then?
- 26:06Speaker 3: Because that's.
- 26:09Speaker 2: I know.
- 26:10Speaker 9: I I.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Like the wood. I didn't use aluminum.
- 26:14Speaker 3: That's because they didn't have aluminum.
- 26:16Speaker 2: They did, sure hadn't.
- 26:18Speaker 3: Discovery. I never get to do those. I'm always the
- 26:21Speaker 3: target of those.
- 26:23Speaker 2: I I could have used either I liked wood No,
- 26:26Speaker 2: that's when I.
- 26:26Speaker 4: Do the foe go to the as the third assistant.
- 26:29Speaker 4: That's I used Campbells wouldn't bad.
- 26:30Speaker 2: It's fun.
- 26:30Speaker 3: It's got on fungo's sorry, the the wooden fungo is
- 26:40Speaker 3: the better. The Yeah, absolutely the preferred.
- 26:43Speaker 4: It feels good. It feels good.
- 26:44Speaker 7: The only thing I did you watch the whole thing
- 26:46Speaker 7: like intently? Did he hit a catcher pop up?
- 26:49Speaker 10: No?
- 26:50Speaker 3: Really, that was my bugaboo? Oh yeah, just hit on
- 26:53Speaker 3: Wait when I did it in high school, I got
- 26:55Speaker 3: to the point where I was a pretty good infield outfield.
- 26:57Speaker 7: I could do exactly what I wanted, and I would
- 26:59Speaker 7: always and with a catcher pop up in eight out
- 27:02Speaker 7: of ten ended up in center field.
- 27:04Speaker 2: He might have and I missed it, but I don't remember.
- 27:06Speaker 7: Yeah, it's it's not an easy thing to do. You
- 27:09Speaker 7: want to just hit one straight up so it kind
- 27:11Speaker 7: of lands.
- 27:11Speaker 3: On the plate. Yeah, that's like the definition of That's
- 27:14Speaker 3: how the We never lost if I ever hit one
- 27:17Speaker 3: that the catcher actually caught it. We never lost that game.
- 27:20Speaker 3: But it happened infrequently, all right.
- 27:23Speaker 2: As it looks, eight five five pass five hundred is
- 27:26Speaker 2: the a sticket hotline, web radio at pages dot com.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Is the email addressed anything else? Before I open it
- 27:30Speaker 2: up to the listeners, I was.
- 27:32Speaker 4: Just gonna say mini camp, you know, like I mean,
- 27:34Speaker 4: you know, as Paul always, as Paul always says, it's really,
- 27:37Speaker 4: you know, just an extension of OTAs when people are
- 27:39Speaker 4: supposed to be here. But you know there are there
- 27:41Speaker 4: are things to watch. I mean, I don't think on
- 27:43Speaker 4: the level of just like it's the offense clicking. But
- 27:46Speaker 4: you know, Godshaw going to show up, Judeon going to
- 27:48Speaker 4: show up. You know, if they're not they fought they're fine, right, yeah, right, we.
- 27:53Speaker 3: Should say there is a report that Judon says he
- 27:57Speaker 3: will yeah.
- 27:58Speaker 4: Right, But I think both of those guys are are
- 28:00Speaker 4: candidates for for more money or extensions perhaps. I mean,
- 28:04Speaker 4: we've talked a little bit about godshaw situation. Haven't pointed
- 28:06Speaker 4: out that really he's not that underpaid, is going into
- 28:09Speaker 4: the last year of his deal. But you know, we
- 28:11Speaker 4: just wonder about Stevenson along with that group. And I'm
- 28:14Speaker 4: gonna throw my guy to real Pepper's on there because
- 28:15Speaker 4: you know, guys know I love them, But you know,
- 28:19Speaker 4: is is is Baker back out? Is Baker back out there.
- 28:24Speaker 4: That's something I'm curious about. Marcellus Dial, I think another
- 28:26Speaker 4: one who was a little bit banged up. Can he
- 28:28Speaker 4: you know, get into that mix of of cornerbacks like
- 28:31Speaker 4: you know, we've talked a lot about Alex Austin, Marco Wilson.
- 28:34Speaker 4: Is Marcus Jones kind of secure in the slot? Are
- 28:36Speaker 4: they you know, more interested? And we're gonna slide j
- 28:38Speaker 4: Jones inside and we're looking more for an outside guy.
- 28:41Speaker 4: We've seen Bolden in the slot. You know, how do
- 28:43Speaker 4: the running back reps kind of play out or any
- 28:45Speaker 4: of those guys? Legit like did Jamichael Hasty have any
- 28:48Speaker 4: kind of chance at being a.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Came out with your uh list this morning things.
- 28:54Speaker 4: To Yeah, it doesn't publish yet, but then a lot
- 28:56Speaker 4: of this, yeah they'll publish.
- 28:58Speaker 5: Now you're giving away the whole article.
- 29:00Speaker 4: Well comes to the whole things?
- 29:02Speaker 5: Well just this, you know, little things takeaways? Obss.
- 29:06Speaker 7: Why I need you guys, because I don't know if
- 29:08Speaker 7: I could come up with ten things it was small.
- 29:10Speaker 5: You would be shocked at how well things clicks for us,
- 29:15Speaker 5: Like ten days to look for I wouldn't be shocked
- 29:19Speaker 5: at all because ten takeaways, right, Oh wow, oh Brian Morey.
- 29:27Speaker 4: Wow, Wow, give him some advice.
- 29:29Speaker 11: Here, all right, Brian, Hey, guys, I'm really excited for you, Bud.
- 29:35Speaker 11: You must have been listening, right, Uh well, a little
- 29:39Speaker 11: bird told me. Okay, so we were just congratulating on
- 29:43Speaker 11: you and getting to the alle elite.
- 29:46Speaker 3: That's legit.
- 29:46Speaker 9: Thank you very much.
- 29:48Speaker 7: Now, don't screw it up. Now, Now what happens usually
- 29:51Speaker 7: when you get to this level of the tournament, it's
- 29:53Speaker 7: about coaching.
- 29:54Speaker 3: So don't screw it up.
- 29:57Speaker 9: I will do my best, although U saying a buzz
- 30:01Speaker 9: saw on Saturday. Kids who beat us in the playoffs
- 30:05Speaker 9: last year, two hits last year, the kids throwing ninety
- 30:09Speaker 9: six four going to Franklin Peers.
- 30:11Speaker 12: So we're gonna we're.
- 30:12Speaker 9: Gonna battle him.
- 30:13Speaker 7: So what have you done differently to prepare this time
- 30:16Speaker 7: around for the velocity that you know was overpowering for
- 30:19Speaker 7: you last year.
- 30:21Speaker 9: Well, we're gonna move the hack attack in who about
- 30:23Speaker 9: halfway to home flight, he.
- 30:26Speaker 4: Was Paul, he was listening.
- 30:28Speaker 3: See, yeah, I had faith, Paul. I had faith in you.
- 30:31Speaker 2: Paul said that that's what you need to do.
- 30:33Speaker 9: Yeah, that's what we will do.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Good. And I was saying, if you need is it
- 30:38Speaker 2: a lefty or alrighty, he's a righty. Okay, so Paul,
- 30:41Speaker 2: you can't use Paul Well to fill in.
- 30:44Speaker 3: Plus, I'm not going to give you the velocity that
- 30:45Speaker 3: you're looking for. But you throw from ten feet, I'm
- 30:48Speaker 3: not so sure.
- 30:50Speaker 5: Close, too close.
- 30:51Speaker 2: And the other question we have from you, Brian, I
- 30:53Speaker 2: was I was going to touch to eighty of the day.
- 30:56Speaker 3: Yeah eighty five.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Yeah, from sixty, but from twenty he could to ninety.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Yeah, strike was eighty four, Yeah, I go eighty five.
- 31:06Speaker 2: The other thing I was complimenting you on was your
- 31:09Speaker 2: was your warm up your fungo hitting. You were very,
- 31:11Speaker 2: very accurate with your fungo hitting. I was impressed. And
- 31:15Speaker 2: Paul had a question. I didn't know the answer. Do
- 31:17Speaker 2: you finish it up with a pop up to the catcher?
- 31:23Speaker 9: I used to although my back hasn't bothered me and
- 31:27Speaker 9: I can't do it and I've lost the skill.
- 31:29Speaker 3: Yeah, it's not easy.
- 31:30Speaker 7: Yeah, that's why that's why I was asking to go,
- 31:32Speaker 7: did he finish with a catcher pop up? Because that's
- 31:34Speaker 7: really impressive if you did it.
- 31:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I used to do it.
- 31:38Speaker 9: I give myself two tries and if I didn't do it,
- 31:40Speaker 9: and two tries. Well you don't get one, but that's
- 31:43Speaker 9: something you have to actually go out in the field
- 31:45Speaker 9: and practice.
- 31:45Speaker 3: Yeah, Brian, I used to say probably eight out of
- 31:48Speaker 3: ten for me ended up in center field. So what
- 31:51Speaker 3: are you gonna do?
- 31:51Speaker 8: Yes, I'll buy the.
- 31:53Speaker 9: Pictures Mount and your catches running through the infield.
- 31:55Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, run yeah, and then maybe go He breaks
- 31:58Speaker 3: an ankle running over the pitcher's mound.
- 32:00Speaker 2: So, in case anyone's interested, where's the game and what's
- 32:03Speaker 2: the time.
- 32:05Speaker 9: We are at a Ponquit Regional High School in Lakeville
- 32:09Speaker 9: at three o'clock on Saturday.
- 32:10Speaker 3: Okay, Tom Curran, you'll be covering country.
- 32:16Speaker 2: All right, and any so good luck on that. I
- 32:19Speaker 2: really hope you guys advance to the final four. Any
- 32:22Speaker 2: thoughts on Brady Day coming up on Wednesday?
- 32:26Speaker 9: Just really excited, big event.
- 32:28Speaker 3: Will you be here? You know? I will be there, yes,
- 32:32Speaker 3: okay as a fan, But.
- 32:34Speaker 2: That's a Wednesday. There's a possibility. I mean, if you
- 32:37Speaker 2: guys continue to advance, isn't there a possibility you'll have
- 32:40Speaker 2: a game that day? There there would be.
- 32:43Speaker 9: I don't know when the final four games are. Yes,
- 32:46Speaker 9: obviously if that's the case, I will not be there.
- 32:48Speaker 3: You haven't allowed yourself to look ahead. This is tournament time.
- 32:52Speaker 3: Got to be focused.
- 32:55Speaker 9: I mean I really I don't know, and in so
- 32:59Speaker 9: many years up there, I really try not to do that,
- 33:03Speaker 9: you know, like I don't even know who is in
- 33:05Speaker 9: the other like who we would play if we want.
- 33:09Speaker 3: If we won this game, like i'd I wonder why
- 33:11Speaker 3: we're not prepared when we get to these levels, we're
- 33:13Speaker 3: not even looking at the team bracketoler Thank god Belichick
- 33:18Speaker 3: never followed that philosophy.
- 33:20Speaker 9: We always get a couple of days. I get I've had,
- 33:22Speaker 9: you know, I have several box scores from their games. Yeah,
- 33:26Speaker 9: from coaches.
- 33:27Speaker 2: I know that.
- 33:27Speaker 9: You know, everybody kind of collaborates and helps each other out. Yeah,
- 33:30Speaker 9: you get all the you get all the information you need,
- 33:33Speaker 9: and then you've got to go out and execute.
- 33:34Speaker 3: Obviously kids have done them.
- 33:37Speaker 9: Kids has done an amazing job of that lately.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Well, on this pict you're about to face, if you
- 33:41Speaker 2: need some I got a guy you need to if
- 33:43Speaker 2: you need him to wake up with like a horse
- 33:45Speaker 2: head in his bed.
- 33:46Speaker 5: I got a guy that you got a guy?
- 33:47Speaker 3: Yeah, hey, is he sitting next to you?
- 33:50Speaker 4: No?
- 33:50Speaker 3: No, no, no, I don't do that anymore. I mean,
- 33:54Speaker 3: I don't do that.
- 33:54Speaker 2: Yeah, well, hey, listen, I know nothing, all right, listen, Ryan,
- 34:00Speaker 2: thanks for calling in. Good luck on all seriousness, all right.
- 34:05Speaker 2: Seven Brian Morey the Elite eight alumni PFW Alum.
- 34:09Speaker 4: I'm a little jealous.
- 34:10Speaker 5: That'd be cool.
- 34:11Speaker 4: I think it would be really cool to coach at
- 34:13Speaker 4: high school.
- 34:13Speaker 5: The coach kids kids an executing.
- 34:18Speaker 3: I mean they've been executing. I mean, just take a
- 34:20Speaker 3: one picture at the time.
- 34:23Speaker 4: It was like you're on the post game show, Paul.
- 34:24Speaker 4: That's what I felt like you were. You're teeing up
- 34:26Speaker 4: those questions.
- 34:27Speaker 2: No, I think I think coaching would be cool. Yeah.
- 34:31Speaker 4: My one of my real good friends from high school,
- 34:32Speaker 4: she's coaching the Dover Sherban girls tennis team in there
- 34:35Speaker 4: and like the same thing, Like I think, like Elite
- 34:37Speaker 4: eight state playoffs right now. But she just won Coach
- 34:39Speaker 4: of the Year in the Tri Valley League. I'm like,
- 34:41Speaker 4: I'm I'm jealous. I just think that's one thing on
- 34:44Speaker 4: my bucket list that I still have that it's for
- 34:46Speaker 4: the coach some high school kids. But I am the
- 34:49Speaker 4: third assistant of the little league team though, so.
- 34:50Speaker 3: So I you know, a lot of responsibilities.
- 34:53Speaker 2: I actually thought like, how would I be if I
- 34:55Speaker 2: was like a high school tennis coach and I just
- 35:00Speaker 2: decided that I wouldn't, Like we used to have to
- 35:02Speaker 2: run line sprints and stuff, you know, across courts. I
- 35:05Speaker 2: wouldn't have him to do any of that. No, I
- 35:07Speaker 2: just tell him, listen, you get in shape on your
- 35:09Speaker 2: own time. We have two hours. We're gonna play tennis.
- 35:13Speaker 2: It's gonna be tennis, tennis, tennis. We're not running laps
- 35:16Speaker 2: and we're not doing this. I trust you to do
- 35:19Speaker 2: that on your own. We're gonna use this time to
- 35:21Speaker 2: play tennis. That's how That's what.
- 35:23Speaker 3: I'm voluntary over here. Now we're gonna play tennis.
- 35:26Speaker 2: That's what I would I wouldn't waste my time with
- 35:28Speaker 2: all that other crap I just did.
- 35:29Speaker 4: When I coached, I did do just a time mile.
- 35:33Speaker 4: That was what I did a time mile at the
- 35:35Speaker 4: start of the year, just to get a sense of
- 35:37Speaker 4: like what these kids are. You know, they were a
- 35:39Speaker 4: couple that that finished it okay, but there were a
- 35:41Speaker 4: couple that you know, couldn't finish. But I generally agree,
- 35:44Speaker 4: like I get a terrible time for a mile O
- 35:46Speaker 4: anything over ten minutes anything over ten for like a
- 35:50Speaker 4: kid that's trying to be an hour yeah, oh yeah, yeah,
- 35:52Speaker 4: you know, is he walking? But I generally agree, oh yeah,
- 35:56Speaker 4: stop and walk walking?
- 35:58Speaker 3: Well, something's going.
- 35:59Speaker 4: So slow this college These are college kids, but I
- 36:02Speaker 4: mean college kids were walking, club college kids club hockey,
- 36:05Speaker 4: college kids rocking.
- 36:06Speaker 3: I mean, I'm pretty slow, but walking.
- 36:08Speaker 4: Never walked now, I mean, but I agree with Fred's thing. Like,
- 36:11Speaker 4: my biggest thing with practice is just like I don't
- 36:13Speaker 4: want standing around. That's why I get so pissed off
- 36:16Speaker 4: with youth sports is when all right, practice starts at
- 36:18Speaker 4: seven and in the first ten minutes, he's like talking
- 36:20Speaker 4: the whole time, like, you know, especially when I was
- 36:22Speaker 4: coaching that we had two practices for fifteen minutes a week.
- 36:25Speaker 4: It was like we're gonna get on this, be.
- 36:27Speaker 5: Ready to go hockey, hockey, We gotta go.
- 36:30Speaker 4: I don't want to sit around and like my time
- 36:33Speaker 4: and talk to you, especially in.
- 36:34Speaker 3: Case ice time is much more valuable.
- 36:37Speaker 2: I know.
- 36:37Speaker 4: But even with but even with youth youth baseball, where
- 36:40Speaker 4: it's like the kids don't get engaged, like and you know,
- 36:42Speaker 4: and there's there's like ten kids over here just watching
- 36:45Speaker 4: two kids it's like have them do something. Like everybody
- 36:48Speaker 4: should be moving always, having at.
- 36:49Speaker 7: Least at least two things going on at the same time,
- 36:51Speaker 7: if not three. If you have you know, enough coaches
- 36:54Speaker 7: to actually run, yeah that's a that's a big if
- 36:58Speaker 7: it hard, but you should have two coach you should
- 37:00Speaker 7: have a head coach and at least one assistant. And
- 37:03Speaker 7: even if you don't, because I've run many Little League
- 37:05Speaker 7: practices by myself because.
- 37:07Speaker 3: People work, you know, like not everybody, but not everybody
- 37:10Speaker 3: has the time. So like a Saturday morning, some like
- 37:12Speaker 3: one of the guys I used to coach with worked
- 37:14Speaker 3: on weekends. He worked at a car dealership. He was
- 37:17Speaker 3: like a salesman to coach because he could be there
- 37:20Speaker 3: every night, like you never missed a game. He just
- 37:23Speaker 3: couldn't go to Saturday practices.
- 37:25Speaker 7: But you get something going on in the outfield, you
- 37:27Speaker 7: get some batting practice over here, maybe you have like
- 37:29Speaker 7: four kids go over here and work on pitching. Like
- 37:32Speaker 7: everybody's got to do something.
- 37:33Speaker 5: I feel like that's such an advantage for like a
- 37:35Speaker 5: sport like lacrosse, where it's so fast moving that like
- 37:39Speaker 5: there is we never sat around in practice and you
- 37:42Speaker 5: could be in the drill, even if you weren't directly
- 37:44Speaker 5: in the drill yet, because everything just moves so quickly.
- 37:47Speaker 5: But if I would not subscribe to Freends no conditioning,
- 37:50Speaker 5: because if we didn't condition for a sport like lacrosse, oh,
- 37:53Speaker 5: we would be in big trouble.
- 37:55Speaker 2: Listen, they run off the field absolutely. Football lacrosse, that's
- 38:00Speaker 2: a whole different. I'm talking about tennis. Yeah, and I'm
- 38:02Speaker 2: not saying tennis players don't need to be in shape.
- 38:05Speaker 2: But you get in shape by playing tennis. You know,
- 38:09Speaker 2: you've got two hours. I'm not gonna get you in
- 38:11Speaker 2: shape by doing some line runs. You know, fifteen minutes
- 38:15Speaker 2: before practice.
- 38:16Speaker 5: We were not gonna get the ball lacrosse for the
- 38:18Speaker 5: first week.
- 38:19Speaker 2: I'm assuming that you're you know, you want to be
- 38:21Speaker 2: in shape. See, I don't really agree.
- 38:23Speaker 5: With that either, though.
- 38:24Speaker 4: It's, you know, like that kind of thing. I mean,
- 38:26Speaker 4: I made the joke on practice. I was like, no
- 38:28Speaker 4: pucks today, guys, and like what I'm just kidding, Like
- 38:30Speaker 4: you can always like Paul handling so important, like and
- 38:32Speaker 4: even with lacrosse. I'm watching then I'm like, well, basketball,
- 38:35Speaker 4: actually it was basketball. Why don't you guys do sprints
- 38:37Speaker 4: with the basketball, Why don't you dribble while you're doing sprints?
- 38:39Speaker 4: Like there's no use. And I kind of liked the
- 38:41Speaker 4: coach because he was making them do suicides. I don't
- 38:43Speaker 4: know if we can call him that anymore.
- 38:44Speaker 5: But yeah, you know, I'm like, run with the ball,
- 38:47Speaker 5: run with the ball.
- 38:48Speaker 4: That's the whole like sense, and it's like, what good
- 38:50Speaker 4: does it do my son that he's just blowing everybody
- 38:53Speaker 4: away like that.
- 38:54Speaker 5: That's good in lacrosse too, because like there's a lot
- 38:56Speaker 5: of drills that you can do that you're passing and
- 38:58Speaker 5: catching but you're still running. Yeah, you know, like kind
- 39:01Speaker 5: of like weave drills.
- 39:01Speaker 4: Like you work it into the I mean and my
- 39:04Speaker 4: in my college hockey, it was always between drills too
- 39:06Speaker 4: quick whistles, two quick laps, and that was you know,
- 39:09Speaker 4: we definitely do some conditioning at the end.
- 39:12Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I had some of those as bad as
- 39:15Speaker 3: as Brooks.
- 39:15Speaker 4: But you know that, like you work it in and
- 39:17Speaker 4: you try to be creative with it, and it's like,
- 39:19Speaker 4: you know to your point when it's strict conditioning and
- 39:22Speaker 4: it's like this sucks, you know everyone, but the.
- 39:24Speaker 2: Time mile to begin the season not a bad idea
- 39:27Speaker 2: just to make sure, everyone's at a certain baseline. That's good.
- 39:30Speaker 2: I just want to see.
- 39:32Speaker 5: Yeah, and I like it. We're that's millennials, you know,
- 39:36Speaker 5: and younger. We always get called soft, you're not killers.
- 39:39Speaker 5: One of the hardest things that I ever did was
- 39:42Speaker 5: was tryouts for sports, and like that. We did not
- 39:46Speaker 5: play football. We did not play lacrosse, like none, Like
- 39:49Speaker 5: you didn't play until weeks and sometimes like actually play,
- 39:54Speaker 5: you know, and lacrosse especially, And I remember our freshman
- 39:56Speaker 5: year we we couldn't throw and catch, but we gloss
- 40:00Speaker 5: like one game the entire year because we just ran
- 40:03Speaker 5: everybody off the field because we were so well conditioned.
- 40:07Speaker 5: And it builds mental toughness. It's good.
- 40:10Speaker 2: You ever watch tough's play lacrosse, It's unbelievable. They it's
- 40:15Speaker 2: constant movement. When a guy comes off onto the field,
- 40:19Speaker 2: you know how you have running, they're sprinting. No One
- 40:22Speaker 2: jobs and it's constant pressure on the defense.
- 40:26Speaker 3: How is tough?
- 40:28Speaker 5: There're D three, right, D three, But the cat three
- 40:32Speaker 5: really strong.
- 40:33Speaker 2: They're really good.
- 40:33Speaker 3: So I don't know, this is the typical paulism. Yeah,
- 40:36Speaker 3: I know that much.
- 40:38Speaker 7: Andy used to talk about that guy that came from
- 40:40Speaker 7: Duke oh, Pressler, he coached them and got them dominant.
- 40:45Speaker 7: Now I know he has since moved on.
- 40:46Speaker 2: Well, yeah, my son coached. My son coached under him
- 40:49Speaker 2: at Brian.
- 40:49Speaker 3: But is that how they got good? Like he sort
- 40:51Speaker 3: of created this.
- 40:54Speaker 7: So but you bring in like Mike Krzyzewski coaches a
- 40:57Speaker 7: Division three, it's like Jim Calhum when he coached that
- 41:00Speaker 7: In three team in Connecticut. He made them a powerhouse
- 41:02Speaker 7: right away. You know, Yeah, there's a difference.
- 41:04Speaker 4: I thought that was going to Bill and Nantucket high
- 41:06Speaker 4: school football this year. That's why I thought he was
- 41:08Speaker 4: gonna whip them.
- 41:09Speaker 5: And nest Cack on its own though, is pretty close
- 41:13Speaker 5: to to D one. Oh yeah, those teams.
- 41:15Speaker 2: The only difference is the size middle burriers.
- 41:17Speaker 5: Just not as big as the one you know, Baits Middlebury.
- 41:22Speaker 5: Kolbe like all those are really really good.
- 41:24Speaker 2: Ye all right, people are like holding back right, rather
- 41:27Speaker 2: have to talk about the office. But anyway, our kickoffs,
- 41:29Speaker 2: all right, let's let's uh, let's open it up to
- 41:31Speaker 2: the listeners. Eight five to five pass five hundred is
- 41:33Speaker 2: the A stick and houtline. We'll go to Dominic in
- 41:36Speaker 2: New York, k Dominic.
- 41:38Speaker 13: Hey, y'all, how are you doing all right? Yep, first
- 41:42Speaker 13: and foremost sock in six.
- 41:45Speaker 2: Celts and six.
- 41:47Speaker 13: We have to get it. We have to get it. Also,
- 41:49Speaker 13: I agree, I do not like the days in between,
- 41:52Speaker 13: so many days in between during the finals. I know
- 41:53Speaker 13: they want to make it a spectacle this that and
- 41:55Speaker 13: the third. But what I really appreciate about the Eastern
- 41:57Speaker 13: Conference Finals I think we had a game every other day.
- 42:00Speaker 13: I don't want to be anxious. I don't want to
- 42:02Speaker 13: be worried about what's going to happen next. I don't
- 42:04Speaker 13: want I don't care about the media. I just want
- 42:06Speaker 13: them to play basketball. I kind of want to get
- 42:08Speaker 13: through with the season and move forward. So you know,
- 42:11Speaker 13: it is what it is. But you know we'll enjoy
- 42:14Speaker 13: the right. But yeah, my question is to you off
- 42:17Speaker 13: topic though, is what are you guys' like biggest personal
- 42:22Speaker 13: or professional excuse me pet peeves? For example, Like, my
- 42:25Speaker 13: biggest pet peeves is having the phone not on silence
- 42:29Speaker 13: wearing a presentation when it's just ringing throughout the entire presentation.
- 42:32Speaker 13: I found that super distracting. But what are your professional
- 42:35Speaker 13: pet peeves that y'all have?
- 42:37Speaker 4: And I'll take it off one, okay, growing one is
- 42:40Speaker 4: anyone listening to their phone on full blast in public
- 42:43Speaker 4: and just watching a show like some guy was doing
- 42:45Speaker 4: on a plane, Like people just like sitting there watching
- 42:48Speaker 4: full volume in the middle of everybody. It's super annoying.
- 42:52Speaker 4: That's a new one. I can't stand. And people just
- 42:54Speaker 4: seem like it's okay.
- 42:54Speaker 2: Yeah, that's crap. That's just rude. It is not even
- 42:57Speaker 2: a pet peeve. It's rude night, you know.
- 43:00Speaker 5: A very niche one for you guys. When we're in
- 43:02Speaker 5: the press box and somebody decides to do a podcast,
- 43:06Speaker 5: oh yeah, in the middle of the press box and
- 43:09Speaker 5: just talks like there's nobody else in the room while
- 43:12Speaker 5: they're doing the podcast and everybody it's a distraction to
- 43:15Speaker 5: everybody else, but Joe Schmoe gets to do his podcast.
- 43:19Speaker 5: Now in this day and age, when like all this
- 43:21Speaker 5: is really popular now to do a post game or
- 43:23Speaker 5: pregame or whatever, like we need podcast booths or something
- 43:26Speaker 5: like we need something to do.
- 43:28Speaker 2: We were at a game last year here at Jillette. Yeah,
- 43:30Speaker 2: I remember there was a guy from New York who
- 43:32Speaker 2: was like doing a show in the press.
- 43:34Speaker 5: Box in the press box and that media complaining about
- 43:41Speaker 5: free things.
- 43:42Speaker 2: Yeah, like the super Bowl week or I get down
- 43:45Speaker 2: the Super Bowl, I immediately have to give everybody my
- 43:49Speaker 2: critique of my accommodations, my flight, the food, the hotel,
- 43:54Speaker 2: shut up, shut up.
- 43:56Speaker 5: Or another big one for me. I have a lot
- 43:58Speaker 5: of these. Another big one for me with the media
- 44:01Speaker 5: this playoff run for the Celtics. Every single game at home,
- 44:05Speaker 5: we have to get the tweets about if it's a
- 44:08Speaker 5: good crowd, good crap, bad crowd, good crowd, bad crowd.
- 44:11Speaker 5: It's like you get to go to the game for free,
- 44:13Speaker 5: like you're sitting in the press box with a credential
- 44:16Speaker 5: and you're not paying the ticket price to get into
- 44:19Speaker 5: the door. If he wants to pay five hundred dollars
- 44:21Speaker 5: to buy the ticket, then let him cheer. However he
- 44:23Speaker 5: wants to cheer, like you're why you like the judgment
- 44:26Speaker 5: of it's not a good crowd.
- 44:28Speaker 2: Tonight along those lines, you know, I hear a lot
- 44:31Speaker 2: of Boston media and fancy. I really hope the Celtics
- 44:36Speaker 2: fans don't boo Kyrie every time he gets the ball.
- 44:39Speaker 2: We should be over that.
- 44:40Speaker 3: I haven't heard any of that. I've heard. Please don't,
- 44:42Speaker 3: please don't throw a bottle at him again.
- 44:45Speaker 2: That. Yeah, but like, you know, do we really need
- 44:47Speaker 2: to do that every time? I hope they do. It's fun.
- 44:54Speaker 7: Whatever you want, you want to boom, boom, don't throw
- 44:57Speaker 7: a bottle at him. I think there's a difference now
- 44:59Speaker 7: crossing verbal yeah run yeah, but like.
- 45:02Speaker 2: If you want to boo when he has the ball,
- 45:04Speaker 2: go ahead.
- 45:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 45:05Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 45:06Speaker 5: It actually has worked, like he's like to ten in
- 45:09Speaker 5: his last ten games against the Celtics, so he's it's
- 45:12Speaker 5: kind of in his head a little.
- 45:13Speaker 3: Bit to do it.
- 45:13Speaker 4: You gotta have a home court of village. I love
- 45:15Speaker 4: the ones that are like it might not sound like
- 45:17Speaker 4: it on TV, but it's a really good crowd, Like
- 45:19Speaker 4: they try to like sell it.
- 45:20Speaker 7: Like so that's my pet peeve is they tell me
- 45:23Speaker 7: how great the crowd is because they're just so excited
- 45:26Speaker 7: to be there, and everybody else says the crowd is
- 45:28Speaker 7: dead as hell because they haven't been tested. Like that
- 45:31Speaker 7: happened like three times in this playoffs, yes, like where
- 45:34Speaker 7: they talked about how great the crowd was and Kenny
- 45:36Speaker 7: is like, it's like a library, and all the guys
- 45:40Speaker 7: I follow and telling me what an unbelievable rowdy crowd
- 45:42Speaker 7: it is.
- 45:43Speaker 5: I just don't understand why it matters. It's the days
- 45:46Speaker 5: of it really mattering in terms of home court and
- 45:48Speaker 5: stuff like that are.
- 45:49Speaker 7: Over see what the crowd is. I'm with you, it
- 45:51Speaker 7: doesn't matter to me. But if you're gonna tell me
- 45:54Speaker 7: what it is, be accurate. I I am not there,
- 45:57Speaker 7: so like, don't tell me it's a terrible crowd if
- 46:00Speaker 7: they're going crazy or the other way around, Like you
- 46:03Speaker 7: should be able to relay it's really loud in here
- 46:07Speaker 7: or it's not like that shouldn't be like a really
- 46:10Speaker 7: subjective thing. That should be kind of like, well, either
- 46:14Speaker 7: is or it isn't give us the decibels.
- 46:16Speaker 2: Well, you know anyway, So those are some professional pet peeks.
- 46:21Speaker 5: I have more.
- 46:22Speaker 2: Yeah's a million.
- 46:24Speaker 5: We don't have our.
- 46:24Speaker 3: Professional just the whole cheerleader aspect and like like literal cheerleaders. Yeah, Paul.
- 46:34Speaker 2: Band cheerleading right today.
- 46:37Speaker 3: My mother would absolutely kill me.
- 46:41Speaker 7: The like the the the Globe today had a quick preview, right,
- 46:47Speaker 7: so they have like down the down the side. It's
- 46:50Speaker 7: about seven or eight Boston Globe guys their predictions for
- 46:54Speaker 7: the series, and seven or eight Dallas guys predictions for
- 46:59Speaker 7: the series. How do you think those came out?
- 47:01Speaker 2: Did they come straight? Party line?
- 47:03Speaker 7: There's one one guy in the globe picks Dallas. I'll
- 47:06Speaker 7: give you one guess. You only get one guess. Fred
- 47:10Speaker 7: will get Dan Shaughnessy picks the maps and seven words
- 47:13Speaker 7: out of my mouth.
- 47:15Speaker 3: All the all the Dallas guys picked Dallas except for one.
- 47:18Speaker 4: Like, what's the point?
- 47:20Speaker 2: I just like, can we have at least a pretend? No,
- 47:26Speaker 2: but a pretend pushed back a little bit. I bet
- 47:31Speaker 2: that they actually believe in.
- 47:32Speaker 7: Their pick, right, because they're wanting it to happen. Okay,
- 47:36Speaker 7: but like like if they if everybody picked the Celtics
- 47:39Speaker 7: on both sides, I wouldn't say that the Boston guys
- 47:41Speaker 7: are being homers, I know, but I could or everybody
- 47:44Speaker 7: pick Dallas.
- 47:45Speaker 2: Yeah, but I could see. I think these are pretty
- 47:48Speaker 2: evenly matched teams, right, No, I at this point, And
- 47:53Speaker 2: the reason why I say that, I think, I do
- 47:54Speaker 2: think the Celtics having a matchup advantage, but I think
- 47:58Speaker 2: the Mavericks are playing their best ball, right.
- 48:00Speaker 7: Yeah, that's the one X factor that I don't know.
- 48:02Speaker 7: I don't really think there's much comparison between the two
- 48:05Speaker 7: teams based on the one hundred games that they've played
- 48:08Speaker 7: during the season. But maybe yeah, maybe I don't know,
- 48:11Speaker 7: maybe Dallas is different now, I don't know.
- 48:13Speaker 2: Yeah, that's why that's to me, Like you said, that's
- 48:16Speaker 2: the X factor. I think the Celtics are the better team.
- 48:20Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, yeah, so I'd be more this that
- 48:23Speaker 3: comment would be more making fun of the Dallas guys. Yeah,
- 48:25Speaker 3: like yeah, really, like every one of you things the
- 48:28Speaker 3: MAVs are going to win this series.
- 48:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I think if you do the analysis, you should
- 48:32Speaker 2: pick the Celtics.
- 48:33Speaker 5: I think, but like if they're going to play the
- 48:35Speaker 5: odds and but if you look at it objectively, then
- 48:38Speaker 5: I don't know how you don't pick the Celtics right,
- 48:40Speaker 5: Like you might be wrong and the MAVs might stun everybody,
- 48:42Speaker 5: but the Celtics are the better team.
- 48:43Speaker 7: Like you're picked as an analyst, should be you think
- 48:46Speaker 7: is going to happen, not what you want to happen, right, And.
- 48:48Speaker 2: That's why these guys would call me a homer over
- 48:50Speaker 2: the dynasty And I'm like, I just happen to believe
- 48:53Speaker 2: that the the Patriots are pretty good. I'm not sorry,
- 48:55Speaker 2: but that's the.
- 48:56Speaker 3: Way he would say it.
- 48:58Speaker 4: You are you guys gonna are you guys in it
- 49:01Speaker 4: to win it with all these games, so you're gonna
- 49:02Speaker 4: watch the whole thing'll be yeah, probably, Yeah, I think I've.
- 49:05Speaker 3: Watched them watch enough.
- 49:07Speaker 7: You'll be here for the last five minutes when they
- 49:09Speaker 7: when the game is I will be clicking. I'll be
- 49:12Speaker 7: clicking on periodically to know how the game is going.
- 49:15Speaker 7: If it's close, I will watch intently.
- 49:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 49:19Speaker 3: My guess is it's not.
- 49:20Speaker 7: Going to be all that close, much like most of
- 49:22Speaker 7: the other playoff games, Like I probably watch more of
- 49:25Speaker 7: Game three and four of the Indiana series than I
- 49:27Speaker 7: saw combined of the rest of the games because they
- 49:30Speaker 7: were close. But like from start to finish, the games
- 49:33Speaker 7: were pretty close.
- 49:34Speaker 2: Yeah. The only time I don't watch is when.
- 49:36Speaker 7: I fall as I have no real interest in up
- 49:38Speaker 7: or down twenty five. It doesn't really excite me all
- 49:40Speaker 7: that much.
- 49:40Speaker 5: I'm still nervous. I've seen this team elieves before, so but.
- 49:46Speaker 4: I know you're a to win it. You got you
- 49:47Speaker 4: got a whole thing. Are you going to any of
- 49:48Speaker 4: the games?
- 49:49Speaker 5: You gotta tickets Game two, Game two, and then we're
- 49:51Speaker 5: going to the watch party for Game four.
- 49:52Speaker 4: In the stadium.
- 49:53Speaker 3: Answers the question, Yeah, who would go to a watch party.
- 49:56Speaker 5: Yeah, so we're going. I'm going to game two with
- 49:59Speaker 5: my dad, and then Jess and I are going to
- 50:02Speaker 5: go to the watch party for Game four, and then
- 50:07Speaker 5: hopefully it doesn't go seven, but if it goes seven,
- 50:09Speaker 5: we would have tickets to game seven.
- 50:11Speaker 4: That's pretty cool.
- 50:12Speaker 2: You're hoping it doesn't.
- 50:13Speaker 5: I mean you have to, because I just want them
- 50:16Speaker 5: to win. In earlier I have no I take it.
- 50:19Speaker 5: I absolutely despise Game sevens. When it's your team is
- 50:23Speaker 5: in it, I want to throw up the entire time.
- 50:26Speaker 5: It's terrible. The only Game seven I've ever enjoyed was
- 50:29Speaker 5: when Tatum scored fifty against Philly because they blew them out.
- 50:32Speaker 5: It wasn't it was not competitive, so I enjoyed.
- 50:35Speaker 2: See. I would have this big argument, see the Celtics
- 50:37Speaker 2: are your team like your your team green? Right? Yes,
- 50:40Speaker 2: I would have this argument with Andy. I said, when
- 50:42Speaker 2: it's my team, I'm not looking necessarily for the entertainment value.
- 50:47Speaker 2: I want to blow them out. I want to take
- 50:49Speaker 2: their family, kidnap them, hold them hostage. I want to
- 50:52Speaker 2: do all bad things to them when it's my team. Yeah, now,
- 50:56Speaker 2: if it's a team that is you know anything less
- 50:58Speaker 2: than that or then yeah, let's let's you know, go
- 51:01Speaker 2: to triple overtime. But when it's my team, I'm fine
- 51:04Speaker 2: with a blowout. I'm going for the And he's like, well,
- 51:08Speaker 2: then you're not a sportsman and you don't have to
- 51:09Speaker 2: know it's my team.
- 51:11Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, you know, But no, I'd be fine if
- 51:13Speaker 7: they won the championship with four straight blowouts.
- 51:15Speaker 3: I just won't be like glued to it.
- 51:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 51:17Speaker 4: But it's funny in that regard Fred, because all the
- 51:19Speaker 4: Super Bowls you went to, every one of them was yeah,
- 51:22Speaker 4: and it was fine.
- 51:24Speaker 2: Like now that I look back, Oh boy, wasn't that great.
- 51:26Speaker 2: It was just an unbelievable game. But I've been I
- 51:29Speaker 2: would have been just as happy to win by thirty, right,
- 51:32Speaker 2: every one of.
- 51:32Speaker 4: Those, because I mean it's really just the last one, right.
- 51:34Speaker 4: Fifty three was the only one that you kind of
- 51:36Speaker 4: were like, okay.
- 51:37Speaker 3: And it was close, but you just have like the
- 51:39Speaker 3: Tim Tebow Division Round game was the same as the
- 51:41Speaker 3: Ravens and four team same thing.
- 51:43Speaker 4: No, I just met the super Bowl. It's like the
- 51:44Speaker 4: Super Bowl games, we're all, oh, we're all nail by.
- 51:47Speaker 2: They all could have gone one of them.
- 51:48Speaker 5: Yeah, I also just think that this Celtics team, they
- 51:52Speaker 5: win in blowouts right when it gets into crunch time
- 51:55Speaker 5: and it's Luca versus Tatum and a duel with two
- 51:58Speaker 5: minutes to go. That's that's type.
- 52:03Speaker 3: But that would make it so much more rewarding for me,
- 52:06Speaker 3: as if they could really win that way too.
- 52:08Speaker 5: I know, but if they did against them, is it
- 52:11Speaker 5: their fault?
- 52:11Speaker 6: No?
- 52:12Speaker 7: No, no, that's what I said. I don't care if
- 52:14Speaker 7: they win four blowouts. That's like my team won the title.
- 52:16Speaker 3: I don't care.
- 52:17Speaker 2: I hope.
- 52:18Speaker 3: I'm just not necessarily going to be glued.
- 52:19Speaker 2: To it like I would normally in terms of attention.
- 52:22Speaker 2: But I hope if they do blow them out, people
- 52:24Speaker 2: don't say, well, still haven't proven they can win close games? God,
- 52:28Speaker 2: well they don't have to, because.
- 52:29Speaker 3: They did win a couple of close games in the Indian.
- 52:31Speaker 2: They did, they came from behind.
- 52:34Speaker 5: I think the biggest thing with the Celtics in this
- 52:37Speaker 5: series that I can't get my head out of my
- 52:40Speaker 5: head in terms of who I think is going to
- 52:42Speaker 5: win the series. If you look back and I like,
- 52:44Speaker 5: listen to a bunch of podcasts obviously over this whole
- 52:46Speaker 5: playoff run, the team that gets hot at the end
- 52:49Speaker 5: in basketball, doesn't normally win the championship. Like it's the
- 52:53Speaker 5: team that's dominant from start to finish and it's just
- 52:55Speaker 5: the best team all year. I guess hockey is a
- 52:58Speaker 5: great sport for the goalie. You know, they went on
- 53:01Speaker 5: a run.
- 53:02Speaker 3: Never happens in the NBA.
- 53:03Speaker 2: Right.
- 53:03Speaker 5: So I was listening to Bill Simmons' podcast, and as
- 53:06Speaker 5: much as people dislike him, sometimes his basketball history is
- 53:10Speaker 5: like he could tell you what happened in nineteen ninety
- 53:12Speaker 5: three to ninety you know whatever. And he was saying
- 53:14Speaker 5: that the last time that he could think of that
- 53:17Speaker 5: a team acquired pieces at the deadline, got really hot
- 53:20Speaker 5: in the second half of the season, and then won
- 53:22Speaker 5: the championship was like the four Pistons, like going back,
- 53:26Speaker 5: you know, twenty years of time. Normally it's the team
- 53:29Speaker 5: that the Celtics, the sixty four win team that's just
- 53:32Speaker 5: good throughout and wins it. So I think that some
- 53:35Speaker 5: people are overrating this Mavericks run.
- 53:38Speaker 7: It would be the lowest seed to win a title,
- 53:40Speaker 7: I think since the Yeah, the Rockets of the Night,
- 53:44Speaker 7: like ninety.
- 53:44Speaker 3: Four, Ye, the five seed the Mavericks, Right, that never
- 53:47Speaker 3: happens in that league. Yeah, all right, let's go.
- 53:51Speaker 2: To Kendall in North Carolina. I hate Kendall. Kendoll going once,
- 53:59Speaker 2: I am the oldest twice three times. Call back if
- 54:04Speaker 2: you want that?
- 54:04Speaker 3: Is that the phrase? No, I know what you're doing.
- 54:06Speaker 4: I'm the eldest boy.
- 54:07Speaker 3: I'm the eldest boy. That's the phrase, right, I think so,
- 54:09Speaker 3: But I'm the eldest boy.
- 54:11Speaker 2: John'son LA. What's up?
- 54:12Speaker 7: John?
- 54:14Speaker 8: Hey?
- 54:15Speaker 14: Freddie?
- 54:15Speaker 10: You know the best example of what you're talking about
- 54:17Speaker 10: was when the Red Sox beak Yankees by a lot
- 54:20Speaker 10: in the two thousand and four Game seven in the ALCS.
- 54:23Speaker 3: Yeah, that was a little That was the best because.
- 54:26Speaker 15: You could actually kind of enjoy it.
- 54:27Speaker 3: Yeah, yep, Yeah, But I didn't enjoy that win anymore
- 54:30Speaker 3: that I enjoyed the nail biers before it, Like all
- 54:34Speaker 3: those four wins were unbelievable.
- 54:36Speaker 2: That win to win four in a row in that situation, right,
- 54:40Speaker 2: those are the greatest.
- 54:41Speaker 10: But I was just like a little less stressed out
- 54:44Speaker 10: while watching.
- 54:45Speaker 15: That Game seven.
- 54:46Speaker 10: Yeah, So I wanted to a call and just say
- 54:50Speaker 10: for Matt Morel. I wanted to say for the new
- 54:53Speaker 10: people who listened, even over the last two years, that
- 54:55Speaker 10: PSW has had good producers over the years, but Matt
- 54:59Speaker 10: is next leve. Yeah, it's not just a lot of
- 55:03Speaker 10: them had quick draw on the audio drops. But he
- 55:07Speaker 10: does previously on cuts every day.
- 55:10Speaker 2: That was never a thing.
- 55:11Speaker 10: He does the audio game summaries each week, and I
- 55:15Speaker 10: just feel like he's really somebody who deserves to get
- 55:20Speaker 10: as Bread likes to say, his flowers, and.
- 55:22Speaker 15: So I am giving him his flowers.
- 55:26Speaker 10: I don't know if it's why the studio improvements are happening,
- 55:28Speaker 10: but I'm sure it doesn't hurt to have an even
- 55:31Speaker 10: more professional broadcast, and he's been great, so I just
- 55:35Speaker 10: wanted to call him say that.
- 55:36Speaker 2: All right, And what's up with you? Any closer don
- 55:38Speaker 2: your project?
- 55:40Speaker 15: Yeah?
- 55:41Speaker 10: Because I helped I can't say that much, but I
- 55:45Speaker 10: helped out on a book that is coming out August thirteenth,
- 55:49Speaker 10: out the West Wing, Okay, and I'm very excited about
- 55:52Speaker 10: It's been a long time helping out with that project.
- 55:55Speaker 10: And then I have another one coming up after that,
- 55:57Speaker 10: so al as well.
- 55:59Speaker 2: All right, great, John, good to hear from you. All right,
- 56:03Speaker 2: all right, Yeah, I think you know my stance when
- 56:06Speaker 2: it's my team, it's not about being entertained. It's about winning.
- 56:10Speaker 2: I just want to win. I want to win. I
- 56:12Speaker 2: want to win. I don't care about how I get it.
- 56:15Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, I was thinking about Game seven for the
- 56:17Speaker 4: Bruins in twenty eleven Agains Vancouver, where same thing, like,
- 56:20Speaker 4: you know, popped a couple of goals. It was two
- 56:22Speaker 4: three goal lead, and you know you kind of felt
- 56:24Speaker 4: you're celebrating the whole game.
- 56:25Speaker 7: Yeah, it was like, I don't really feel like I
- 56:28Speaker 7: didn't feel like that then. I remember that now I'm
- 56:30Speaker 7: still very stressed.
- 56:31Speaker 5: I remember Game six of the NBA Finals and eight
- 56:34Speaker 5: the Celtics won by what twenty five thirty they? Yeah,
- 56:37Speaker 5: that would The whole second half was just a it
- 56:40Speaker 5: was just a party.
- 56:40Speaker 3: It was garbage time and that was great.
- 56:42Speaker 7: And like I think that Fred sort of overstates because
- 56:45Speaker 7: Andy and I used to tease him about this, but
- 56:48Speaker 7: I think you overstated it. Like we said, like we'd
- 56:51Speaker 7: rather lose an epic game than win a blowout. No,
- 56:54Speaker 7: we're talking about we win, we know we're gonna win.
- 56:56Speaker 7: What would you rather win? Well, like I would like
- 57:00Speaker 7: I would rather win a game that was hard fought.
- 57:03Speaker 7: You didn't know you were going to win the whole game.
- 57:04Speaker 7: Now that doesn't mean like, to Evan's point, there was
- 57:08Speaker 7: nobody more excited than I was that night when they
- 57:11Speaker 7: beat the Lakers of all Kobe Lakers by like forty points. Yeah,
- 57:16Speaker 7: that was great and it was never a doubt the
- 57:19Speaker 7: whole second half the game was over.
- 57:21Speaker 3: It was awesome.
- 57:21Speaker 4: It's like Super Bowl forty nine. It's like, you know,
- 57:23Speaker 4: it's like you're gonna have to go through hell, but
- 57:25Speaker 4: this will probably mean for me, but you're gonna win
- 57:27Speaker 4: favorite experience of all time. Whereas you know the Rams
- 57:31Speaker 4: Super the last Rams one, Like yeah, but I mean
- 57:33Speaker 4: that's what game do you remember?
- 57:35Speaker 3: You remember the Kansas City.
- 57:36Speaker 4: Game every single minute. It's true, No, it's but but
- 57:40Speaker 4: you're to your point you don't want to sign up
- 57:42Speaker 4: going into like if you don't know, you're like I.
- 57:44Speaker 2: Knew, I know that.
- 57:45Speaker 7: But I think Fred thinks about it, and he's the
- 57:47Speaker 7: way he explains it. It's like that we would rather
- 57:50Speaker 7: lose the close game because of the entertainment value.
- 57:53Speaker 3: No way, no way, would I'd rather have my team
- 57:55Speaker 3: lose a close game than win a blowout.
- 57:58Speaker 2: No ever, Never Bill and Vista, California, all this talk
- 58:01Speaker 2: about coaching made me want to bring up that I'll
- 58:03Speaker 2: be starting my first year coaching high school football as
- 58:06Speaker 2: a linebackers coach. It couldn't be more excited. Good luck?
- 58:09Speaker 3: Where's this?
- 58:10Speaker 5: Where's this?
- 58:10Speaker 2: Guy? Vista, California?
- 58:11Speaker 3: Oh, that's legit.
- 58:14Speaker 4: I've seen it.
- 58:15Speaker 2: Is that any Is it like Sharon? Is it near Sarah?
- 58:20Speaker 15: Uh?
- 58:21Speaker 4: I don't know, actually where Vista is? I think it's
- 58:23Speaker 4: I'm not going to say, I'm not sure. I'm not sure.
- 58:24Speaker 2: Anyway, I just wanted to say I've been up, but
- 58:27Speaker 2: I've been spoiled by you guys. Having listened to you
- 58:29Speaker 2: since twenty fifteen, I started branching out the season for
- 58:33Speaker 2: other Patriots content, And geez, some of Paul's shows are
- 58:37Speaker 2: ridiculously negative. Are they playing characters or some of them
- 58:40Speaker 2: really like that? There's a certain individual who reminds me
- 58:43Speaker 2: of John Goodman in The Big Lebowski and it gets
- 58:46Speaker 2: me everything.
- 58:47Speaker 4: Donnie shot, I love that movie.
- 58:51Speaker 2: Are they really overrated? Oh?
- 58:53Speaker 4: Yeah, you talk about it, Fred does.
- 58:57Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 58:58Speaker 5: I mean, I don't like the greatest movie of all time.
- 59:00Speaker 4: But no, but it's more of a coke plastic John
- 59:04Speaker 4: Goodman yelling at Donnie throughout the whole thing is my
- 59:07Speaker 4: favorite of it. I mean it's just unlike necessary rage
- 59:11Speaker 4: directed towards this like one harmless character the whole time.
- 59:14Speaker 2: But like you know the scene with the ashes, like
- 59:16Speaker 2: everyone points to that's like you see that coming a
- 59:19Speaker 2: mile away? Yeah you do? You know you do?
- 59:21Speaker 3: Yeah, so angry.
- 59:24Speaker 2: I just it's just overrated.
- 59:26Speaker 7: What's the guy's name? The bowler's name? And yeah, come
- 59:31Speaker 7: on iconic.
- 59:33Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a weird comen bro this movie is you
- 59:38Speaker 4: see Raising Arizona? Do you see that one?
- 59:40Speaker 2: That was decent?
- 59:41Speaker 4: Yeah? That movie he liked big uh and I like
- 59:45Speaker 4: Big Lebowski. I I like Raising Arizona I saw when
- 59:47Speaker 4: I was young. Though you see Barton Fink parts of
- 59:50Speaker 4: it that was a weird right, Yeah, it's a little
- 59:52Speaker 4: bit more for three.
- 59:53Speaker 5: Yeah, I've only seen Big I don't like this.
- 59:56Speaker 3: I don't like those are all Cohen brother movies. Yeah,
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: I'm not big on the different I have seen Fargo
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: the Fever Pitch, which is a fairly big difference, big
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: big difference Dylan and Nashville.
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: Two things. One, if you haven't listened to Matt light
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: on Julian's podcast, you should. I now understand why you
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: guys thought he should be on the roast. He's hilarious. Yeah,
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: they they I just saw the segment they talk about Ernie.
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: That was funny when the big plane came across the
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: practice field.
- 1:00:32Speaker 4: Yeah, Matt, he told the story again that everybody's heard
- 1:00:35Speaker 4: about him buzzing Bill, which I just he's got the
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: balls to put an electric shocker on Bill Bellich.
- 1:00:41Speaker 5: He did that to Dante Scarneki too.
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: Two, my brother got a hold of the TV and
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: watched Jaws way too early. My dad came into the
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: room and he was crying. My dad tried to console him,
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: thinking he was scared. My brother just shouted, I wanted
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: the shark to win.
- 1:01:02Speaker 4: One of us.
- 1:01:06Speaker 7: So our partie Dave was out in l A, you know,
- 1:01:09Speaker 7: for his vacation. He went to like one of those
- 1:01:12Speaker 7: museums or something. Got a nice shot of Bruce.
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah yeah. Universal Studios, I think probably, yeah,
- 1:01:19Speaker 4: I think it one of the lots.
- 1:01:21Speaker 5: I think it's Universal.
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: Yeah. You go on the bus tour of the lot
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: and uh, both of them actually.
- 1:01:27Speaker 5: And Universal they have the actual like beach that they used,
- 1:01:34Speaker 5: not the not the Martha's Vineyard like scenic shots, but
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: like the actual beach, yeah, the fake one that they
- 1:01:39Speaker 5: use and they're like, that's the beach. Yeah, Jaws.
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:01:44Speaker 4: I think it's a sad story because I think they
- 1:01:46Speaker 4: had the orca and it just like disintegrated, like they
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: had to it fell apart.
- 1:01:50Speaker 7: They had it like I mean it, but Jaws erected
- 1:01:56Speaker 7: in the movie like how like how could you couldn't
- 1:01:59Speaker 7: resurrect back?
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: There's no restoration problems.
- 1:02:03Speaker 4: They had the sicke it for Josh two in the opening.
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: Of course, you have the piece of wood that they
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: paddled back to shore on right right? Can we get
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: in on those swim Christians? Christians? When Virginia, what's Christian?
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: Another Christian? What's up?
- 1:02:17Speaker 4: We tried good Christian.
- 1:02:20Speaker 14: I've had a question about ok eight, We've heard a
- 1:02:24Speaker 14: lot about Drake May and na Kobe Brissett, but I
- 1:02:27Speaker 14: was wondering what Zappie and uh Joe Milton's progression looked
- 1:02:32Speaker 14: like just from a trading standpoint.
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: I'll take it off here, Okay, thanks Christian.
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: I mean I would say Milton's more the same. I
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: think you know, you see his arm, and you know
- 1:02:42Speaker 4: he's got a good stature, and I thought he had
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: fun energy he was out there kind of dancing, but
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: you know, you see when you get in his limited reps,
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: he you know, he doesn't see it yet. And I mean,
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: I think it's people have brought up too, like he
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: just really hasn't played too so I think that's why
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: they think he's worth developing. It's not like he played
- 1:02:58Speaker 4: a ton and couldn't you know, he had moments where
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: he would have won the starting job at Michigan, you know,
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: and would have won the job at Tennessee, but then
- 1:03:05Speaker 4: ended up losing it out, usually due to injury.
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: So I don't know.
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: I mean, it's he's fun. It's like exactly what I
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: was thinking about him. It's like, well, it'd be kind
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: of fun to watch in training camp. I think some
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: of the like pressure of him being around and Drake,
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: I think that's dissipated. I think people kind of look
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: at it and you see Drake make him play, and
- 1:03:22Speaker 4: you know he's got a ways to go. So I mean,
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: I think he's an interesting asset now and I'm not
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: as worried about him having an impact on Drake May's development.
- 1:03:29Speaker 5: No, I mean neither.
- 1:03:30Speaker 7: But I think part of that is because he's not
- 1:03:32Speaker 7: getting any reps. Yes, I wonder if they hurt us. Yeah,
- 1:03:35Speaker 7: like because he doesn't know. He doesn't fact think he had.
- 1:03:38Speaker 5: Four competitive reps in practice on Tuesdays. So you're not
- 1:03:41Speaker 5: going to make anything out of that unless he does
- 1:03:43Speaker 5: something ungodly.
- 1:03:44Speaker 7: The fear for that would be preseason games. But yeah,
- 1:03:48Speaker 7: you know, and that's why I think Gerard has made
- 1:03:50Speaker 7: that comment. Mayo said, you know, I don't think he
- 1:03:53Speaker 7: anticipates having four guys. Yeah, you know, once training camp
- 1:03:56Speaker 7: rolls around, and I to me, the interesting thing will
- 1:03:59Speaker 7: be Zappi and that's the guy to go obviously. Do
- 1:04:04Speaker 7: you just say we have to move him or do
- 1:04:07Speaker 7: you say I need him for insurance?
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: Yeah? I mean I think where I'm at right now
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: is let's throw caution of the wind. And if we
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: got to throw Drake Mayon because Jacoby Brissett gets lit up, right.
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: So be it.
- 1:04:17Speaker 15: You know.
- 1:04:18Speaker 7: Yeah, that's what I would rather do, But I don't
- 1:04:21Speaker 7: think they feel that way. And I'm cash.
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm reminded by our illustrious webmaster Chris that the
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: NFL has given us permission to show the six Brady
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: Super Bowls in their entirety on YouTube. So starting today Friday,
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: June seventh, you can watch Super Bowl thirty six, then Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday,
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: Wednesday in succession, you'll be able to watch all the
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: Super Bowls on the Patriots YouTube channel in their entirety
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: the broadcast. So that's pretty cool leading up to Brady.
- 1:04:58Speaker 5: Day get to hear I did that a few years
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: because I was obviously pretty young for the first couple
- 1:05:02Speaker 5: and it's when you know, people my age like I do, like,
- 1:05:08Speaker 5: go ahead and do that if you have the time,
- 1:05:09Speaker 5: because honestly, you'd I was nine years old, Like you
- 1:05:12Speaker 5: don't you watch it a whole different way now than
- 1:05:15Speaker 5: when when I was a kid.
- 1:05:16Speaker 4: What was what was your perspective on it, Evan, You know,
- 1:05:19Speaker 4: is being so immersed in, you know, in the current
- 1:05:22Speaker 4: state of the offense and you know at the time
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: and stuff like, what was your impression when you went
- 1:05:25Speaker 4: back and you kind of watched the schemes that they
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: were running offensively in defensive compared to what you were
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: so immersed in offensively?
- 1:05:32Speaker 7: It was a lot more similar than I thought it
- 1:05:35Speaker 7: would be, Like it was still and even like going back,
- 1:05:38Speaker 7: I you know, going back and watching stuff in the
- 1:05:41Speaker 7: past from eighties nineties, It doesn't change as much as
- 1:05:46Speaker 7: you would think. I feel like I feel like the
- 1:05:49Speaker 7: one thing and maybe this is just the way that
- 1:05:51Speaker 7: they were shot. Everybody looks bigger but slower, you know,
- 1:05:56Speaker 7: like every like all these guys look much much larger,
- 1:06:00Speaker 7: but they are not the athletes that are out on
- 1:06:02Speaker 7: the field today, especially obviously a linebacker, running back, you know,
- 1:06:07Speaker 7: like those types of positions. But I does not to
- 1:06:12Speaker 7: pick on him, but like, does Ted Johnson play in
- 1:06:14Speaker 7: today's NFL at that level? Like I'm sure it still
- 1:06:17Speaker 7: make a team and everything, but like, does is he
- 1:06:20Speaker 7: a starter and an impact player? You know those types
- 1:06:22Speaker 7: of guys.
- 1:06:24Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:06:24Speaker 4: They probably try to play them on the edge now.
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: They'd have him trying to be like high tower, right,
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: because he had good size, so.
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: You mean he oh, he's a big guy and he was.
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: Is he more than six two though? I mean is
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: he six six six wide?
- 1:06:36Speaker 7: It is definitely one of those positions that's gotten sort
- 1:06:39Speaker 7: of phased out, you know, that run stuff from the
- 1:06:42Speaker 7: middle linebacker type.
- 1:06:45Speaker 5: Ran I would say that that was a bigger difference.
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: It's more about the personnel and the different players than
- 1:06:50Speaker 5: it is like that they reinvented the scheme.
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: Of the striking.
- 1:06:53Speaker 4: Thing to me, being a defense guy, was just how
- 1:06:55Speaker 4: limited packages were back even going back to like seven,
- 1:06:58Speaker 4: where it felt like they're playing three four, they're playing nickel,
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: and that was kind of it, And now it's you
- 1:07:03Speaker 4: had all kinds of versions of nickel and dime, and
- 1:07:05Speaker 4: you know they're barely even in base unless they have
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: to be, and.
- 1:07:08Speaker 10: You know that.
- 1:07:08Speaker 7: That to me, I just think it's percentages changing, Like
- 1:07:12Speaker 7: now you see those things more like no one plays
- 1:07:15Speaker 7: bass any discernible percentage of snaps anymore.
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: But I think you know, nickel dime, that goes your basis.
- 1:07:22Speaker 5: Oh yeah, but I mean right, that's what if you're
- 1:07:24Speaker 5: talking about like the package, like the actual.
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: Line, that's that's what I mean. Like there's yeah, you know,
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: it's it's there.
- 1:07:30Speaker 5: They have like pass rush packages now, like the Patriots
- 1:07:33Speaker 5: have their five oz package that didn't exist twenty years ago,
- 1:07:37Speaker 5: where you have five guys all standing up along the
- 1:07:40Speaker 5: line of scrimmage and then they're twisting and they're you know.
- 1:07:43Speaker 7: Did it in two to bledsoe? Yeah, that's just my point,
- 1:07:46Speaker 7: Like it's just percentages. They do that stuff way more
- 1:07:49Speaker 7: often what do we call that game when the Amoeba
- 1:07:52Speaker 7: game game.
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: Yeah, so that was the first they have like a
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: little cocktail party before the snap.
- 1:07:56Speaker 3: And then they yea, yeah they did. There was a
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: term that they used for I forget now, yeah, I
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: muddled or something like it, something about a farm I got.
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: I don't know, I forget yeah, cte again.
- 1:08:08Speaker 5: Sorry, someone tough. Melt the cow, milt the cow. They
- 1:08:12Speaker 5: did the Amiba defense in eighteen nineteen, like that was
- 1:08:16Speaker 5: big with out of those veteran guys that they knew
- 1:08:18Speaker 5: were going to get to the right places and stuff
- 1:08:20Speaker 5: like that.
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: Even back with Chris Slade. I remember they were doing
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: that and uh, I said to Chris that go, so,
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: you know, pre snap, it looks like you guys are
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: kind of just muddling around and then you know, then
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: you get down. You know, sounds like that's by design.
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: He goes, you know what we're doing?
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: Fred Chris Slade happened to him? He went from like
- 1:08:42Speaker 4: on par with Willie McGinnis for me as a fan,
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: to like gone, And I'm like, whatever happened? I thought
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: he was really good? Was he not really good?
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: Was that just God?
- 1:08:50Speaker 15: Not?
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: Like he was not a great player, but he was good.
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: He was a good you know, speed rusher. Parcels used
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: to call him a dog chasing cars. Yeah sometimes, Yeah.
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: He was one of those guys that ended up behind
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: the quarterback too often.
- 1:09:01Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:09:01Speaker 5: I love how Parcels just made fun of the players.
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: He made fun as you know, you guys all I
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: can practice one eye clothes hitting people off the helmet
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: with the ball. That's pretty Actually.
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: Call him doughboy. A lot of things that you can't
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: do anymore different names.
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: Says the disrespect as a real Madrid fan. That disrespect
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: coming out of Fred's mouth when he asked who was
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: Luca Modrick? Educate yourself, Fred.
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: Please.
- 1:09:30Speaker 5: Also shout out real Madrid Champions League trophy winners. And
- 1:09:35Speaker 5: they also decided Killian Mapie, so they're getting even better.
- 1:09:40Speaker 7: How do you pronounce his last name? Some people say, bope,
- 1:09:44Speaker 7: that's what I thought it was. Some people say that
- 1:09:47Speaker 7: what do you say my pi? I never heard that heard,
- 1:09:51Speaker 7: but I've heard I think is what's in FIFA?
- 1:09:54Speaker 5: That's where he going?
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: How does he pronounce it? I think it's said that's
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: how you pronounce it?
- 1:09:59Speaker 5: I think I said, I think I I don't agree
- 1:10:02Speaker 5: to disagree, So.
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: That's an error. No, you pronounce your name wrong?
- 1:10:05Speaker 7: You know that would be that would be a separator
- 1:10:07Speaker 7: forever in Eric. Right, Eric would have gone down long, No,
- 1:10:12Speaker 7: you're wrong.
- 1:10:12Speaker 5: No, I honestly I might have just said it wrong.
- 1:10:15Speaker 5: But he's signing with Real Madrid.
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: But he says it's Amadola, but tom Doola.
- 1:10:23Speaker 4: It's a mendola that got into like the Italian thing
- 1:10:25Speaker 4: with him too, didn't it? Like that's what he was
- 1:10:27Speaker 4: like saying it?
- 1:10:28Speaker 7: And I would give him so many different like variations
- 1:10:30Speaker 7: of things like well, how do you pronounce that?
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: This? What's the difference? Like he never he would never
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: have an answer, And.
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: Then I say, you know, your name is pronounced skala
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: in northern Italy. They pronounced no. They don't know. You
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: get so mad? I'm not No, I'm not doing it with.
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: Eric.
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: All right, let's get back to the phones. My mouse
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: can reach there. Mike's in Baltimore. What's up, Mike.
- 1:10:59Speaker 8: Hes Hey? A quick question about Cayden Wallace. I was
- 1:11:04Speaker 8: doing a little research on him and his whole career
- 1:11:06Speaker 8: growing up, you know, was formative years through high school.
- 1:11:09Speaker 8: He played left tackle and then at some point in
- 1:11:12Speaker 8: college he made the jump from left to right.
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's not entirely true. He moved around. It's different.
- 1:11:21Speaker 7: He moved around in high school a little bit, and
- 1:11:24Speaker 7: I believe he finished his high school career as a
- 1:11:26Speaker 7: left tackle.
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: That is correct. But he never played it in college? Yes, yeah,
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: only in only in practice? Yeah, only in only in practice?
- 1:11:38Speaker 8: Does that give us any indication that the switch maybe
- 1:11:41Speaker 8: maybe he's going back to a more natural position, or
- 1:11:44Speaker 8: the fact that he's already done it. Does that show
- 1:11:46Speaker 8: us that this could be a little easier than maybe
- 1:11:48Speaker 8: we think it is, or is the jump from right
- 1:11:50Speaker 8: to left.
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: That how much harder for some people?
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: Some people it's hard. I have no idea what it
- 1:11:55Speaker 3: will be for Kayden Wallace or.
- 1:11:57Speaker 4: For a core for us. He was more at right
- 1:11:58Speaker 4: tackle last practice.
- 1:12:00Speaker 5: Yeah, there was a so he didn't he played on
- 1:12:03Speaker 5: the right side at Penn State because Oluhanu was playing
- 1:12:06Speaker 5: left tackle for Penn.
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: State, who in the first round?
- 1:12:09Speaker 5: Yeah, so he they had a better player that was
- 1:12:12Speaker 5: playing left tackle. I don't know if because you talked
- 1:12:16Speaker 5: to but some of the people I talked to about
- 1:12:18Speaker 5: it said, if wasn't blocking him from playing left tackle,
- 1:12:22Speaker 5: then they might have Penn State might have flipped him
- 1:12:24Speaker 5: to left tackle during.
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: Not exactly the way it was put to me by
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: the offensive line coach whose name is escaping me right now.
- 1:12:30Speaker 5: Well, he'd probably know better than the but he did.
- 1:12:33Speaker 7: You know, he had a lot of great things to
- 1:12:35Speaker 7: say about Fashanu and Wallace. He was like, he loves
- 1:12:38Speaker 7: Wallace and he thinks he is going to make a
- 1:12:42Speaker 7: really good tackle regardless of what side he ends up playing.
- 1:12:45Speaker 7: He's very high on the guy. So I think there's
- 1:12:49Speaker 7: there's reason to be encouraged there. But I don't think
- 1:12:51Speaker 7: because he played in I mean this, yeah, you know,
- 1:12:54Speaker 7: that'd be like saying, you know, some you know baseball
- 1:12:57Speaker 7: player could play shortstop because he played it in high school.
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: They all play short stop in high school.
- 1:13:01Speaker 7: You know, Like he was the left tackle because I'm
- 1:13:04Speaker 7: gonna guess this high school team didn't have a lot
- 1:13:06Speaker 7: of NFL players on it. Yeah, you know, so he
- 1:13:08Speaker 7: was the best offensive lineman. Your best offensive lineman usually
- 1:13:11Speaker 7: plays left tackle.
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: Right for a left tackle, No, I know, and I listen.
- 1:13:17Speaker 7: I don't think that you're wrong to be encouraged by it, Mike, because,
- 1:13:21Speaker 7: like I said, this fishin was really good. So It's
- 1:13:25Speaker 7: not like he was behind some guy that why didn't
- 1:13:28Speaker 7: they move him? Why didn't they well, you know, they
- 1:13:30Speaker 7: must not have thought.
- 1:13:31Speaker 6: No.
- 1:13:31Speaker 3: I think Evan's right. I think the mentality was this
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: guy's really good. Now. There was a chance that Wallace could.
- 1:13:36Speaker 7: Have played left tackle prior to that, and he didn't,
- 1:13:39Speaker 7: So I don't know if that was because he wasn't ready.
- 1:13:42Speaker 7: But the one thing that really sticks out to me
- 1:13:44Speaker 7: is the way it was sort of explained to me
- 1:13:46Speaker 7: was that something really clicked with him after his junior
- 1:13:50Speaker 7: year and he came back like a whole different player
- 1:13:54Speaker 7: and it really just fell into place for him. And
- 1:13:57Speaker 7: I think his you know, and this sort of the
- 1:14:00Speaker 7: summary was his best football was ahead of him because
- 1:14:04Speaker 7: he really dedicated himself and turned a corner. Yeah, and
- 1:14:07Speaker 7: I think that's probably the biggest reason to be excited
- 1:14:10Speaker 7: about him.
- 1:14:10Speaker 5: Yeah. That's That's similar things that I had when I
- 1:14:13Speaker 5: talked to Jim Nagy that that he was telling me
- 1:14:16Speaker 5: that some of these guys just not even just about Wallace,
- 1:14:19Speaker 5: but football is not that important to them as eighteen
- 1:14:23Speaker 5: year olds. Shocker. And then all of a sudden, the lights,
- 1:14:26Speaker 5: you know, kind of goes on and you're like, oh,
- 1:14:27Speaker 5: I have a chance to make it in the NFL
- 1:14:29Speaker 5: if I really yeah, figure my stuff out, and then
- 1:14:32Speaker 5: all of a sudden it becomes their life.
- 1:14:34Speaker 4: It's just so hard to project. I was just looking
- 1:14:36Speaker 4: back at something like City played left tackle his first year.
- 1:14:41Speaker 4: You know, like all these guys have kind of played
- 1:14:43Speaker 4: other positions, and it's just it's so hard. You got
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: to get to the NFL. You have to play against
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: the NFL caliber players to really find out, but so
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: many of these guys have played so many different spots
- 1:14:54Speaker 4: on the offensive line, and it's hard.
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: To you go back to high school. These guys that
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: made it to the NFL, we're probably the best athletes
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: on their high school teams. So yeah, I probably played.
- 1:15:04Speaker 7: That's why I would say, like that doesn't give me hope.
- 1:15:06Speaker 7: But what you know, it was Phil trout Wine.
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: I just looked up.
- 1:15:09Speaker 7: That was the offensive line coach's name. The way he
- 1:15:12Speaker 7: talked about sort of a light going off for him off,
- 1:15:16Speaker 7: I mean on, you know what I mean, having a
- 1:15:20Speaker 7: tough show CT. I couldn't remember the guy's name. I
- 1:15:22Speaker 7: had to look a talk to him like six weeks ago.
- 1:15:25Speaker 7: I forgot forgot his name.
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: Uh, Kendall in North Carolina is giving it another try.
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: What's up Kendall.
- 1:15:32Speaker 9: On this show?
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: Hey?
- 1:15:34Speaker 14: Hey, you said I wanted to ask.
- 1:15:37Speaker 10: I know that the team is going to break at
- 1:15:39Speaker 10: the mantoy min account next week.
- 1:15:41Speaker 14: Are y'all stilling going live?
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: Oh yeah? Oh yeah. The sun never sets on the
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: Pu Empire.
- 1:15:48Speaker 5: When we get into soap and the slot and everything.
- 1:15:51Speaker 14: But y'allak, no breaks.
- 1:15:53Speaker 4: No, but we will have a different looking studio for
- 1:15:56Speaker 4: a little while.
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll be in a different location because we're redoing
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: the studio, but we'll still have shows.
- 1:16:02Speaker 14: Okay, appreciate I just wanted more some stuff down account.
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: I appreciate it.
- 1:16:05Speaker 4: Man, Okay, thanks, Just tell him tell him you're going
- 1:16:08Speaker 4: to be gone.
- 1:16:08Speaker 7: Can the Monday show I won't be part of. Oh
- 1:16:13Speaker 7: I'll be I'll be on Tuesday and Wednesday.
- 1:16:15Speaker 5: I love how quiet he says it is.

- 1:19:07Speaker 2: What's going on?
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:19:11Speaker 5: Hating there?
- 1:19:11Speaker 17: Yeah, beautiful day, so uh, good day out of practice.
- 1:19:14Speaker 17: So I just trying to get better.
- 1:19:16Speaker 5: How rewarding has this experience been so far?
- 1:19:18Speaker 8: And how much would you say you've learned this one?
- 1:19:20Speaker 17: Yeah, it's been awesome, you know, first the first time
- 1:19:22Speaker 17: in the NFL, first practice, first practices, first time, and
- 1:19:26Speaker 17: be on a team, first reps, you know, playing in
- 1:19:28Speaker 17: the NFL practice. So just trying to soak it all in,
- 1:19:30Speaker 17: trying to learn as much as I can and learn
- 1:19:32Speaker 17: from the older guys. Learned from Bailey and from Jacoby,
- 1:19:34Speaker 17: and I learned from other vets around Hunter Henry and
- 1:19:36Speaker 17: David Andrews and all those guys chooks you know off
- 1:19:38Speaker 17: there the left tackle. So a lot of a lot
- 1:19:40Speaker 17: of learning experiences and excited to be out here, Vince
- 1:19:42Speaker 17: is fun.
- 1:19:46Speaker 3: Progress is pretty given.
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: That you're just getting into it, because what type.
- 1:19:57Speaker 17: Of guys, Yeah, I like to say so. You know,
- 1:20:00Speaker 17: I think it's you know, our defense is a great job.
- 1:20:02Speaker 17: They do a good job disguis and do job bringing
- 1:20:03Speaker 17: different blitzes. So we're getting great work in here out
- 1:20:06Speaker 17: here practice you know, defense that make it tough on
- 1:20:08Speaker 17: especially down here in the red zone.
- 1:20:09Speaker 5: It's tough.
- 1:20:10Speaker 17: You know a lot of guys down there. So you know,
- 1:20:12Speaker 17: i'd like to say so. But at the same time,
- 1:20:14Speaker 17: you know, there's always you know, practice each day. You
- 1:20:15Speaker 17: saw it out there today, you know, some toes wish
- 1:20:17Speaker 17: I had back, and some things I felt pretty good about.
- 1:20:19Speaker 17: So I'll just take it one day at a time.
- 1:20:21Speaker 17: And I feel like that's the good thing about having
- 1:20:23Speaker 17: film out here. You could go back and learn from
- 1:20:25Speaker 17: it and hopefully not do it again next time.
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: Now that you've kind of see.
- 1:20:27Speaker 5: The Patriots off defense and motion, I mean, it seems.
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: Like it's getting a little more competitive competitive, even though
- 1:20:32Speaker 3: you're on in PA kind of what are your thoughts
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: on them as a whole.
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: Having to go up against.
- 1:20:37Speaker 17: Yeah, the defense is great. I mean they're good up front,
- 1:20:40Speaker 17: you know, good in the back end. You know, you
- 1:20:41Speaker 17: know Juwan out there, you know, the captain of the defense,
- 1:20:43Speaker 17: he's a great player. So they have a lot of
- 1:20:45Speaker 17: different pieces. They can go, you know, you go three
- 1:20:47Speaker 17: down and go, you know, you go bear it can go,
- 1:20:49Speaker 17: you know, even front. They can do a lot of
- 1:20:50Speaker 17: different things and I think also make some special So
- 1:20:52Speaker 17: they've been great over the past years and it's awesome
- 1:20:54Speaker 17: for us. You know, great work the disguising show a
- 1:20:56Speaker 17: man dropping the zone. So do a lot of different
- 1:20:58Speaker 17: stuff that makes it tough.
- 1:20:59Speaker 8: Sure the coaches have talked about using the virtual reality.
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: Technology to the on field work.
- 1:21:04Speaker 17: Had a chance to do that, yeah, haven't. Yeah, thing's
- 1:21:07Speaker 17: getting set up. So I'm just looking forward to seeing
- 1:21:08Speaker 17: what it's about. You know, I've never you know, done
- 1:21:10Speaker 17: something like that, and that's just a chance to get
- 1:21:12Speaker 17: additional reps and seeing things and you have, you know,
- 1:21:14Speaker 17: get enough practice.
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: So looking forward.
- 1:21:16Speaker 17: See what's that about?
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: What do you think about the last few weeks.
- 1:21:18Speaker 15: To see on the field, where are you maybe further
- 1:21:20Speaker 15: ahead than you would have expected, and where are you
- 1:21:22Speaker 15: may be a little behind to want to attack.
- 1:21:24Speaker 8: A little bit more and coming up?
- 1:21:26Speaker 5: Yeah, further ahead.
- 1:21:27Speaker 17: I think, Uh, just all terminology, you know, all the motions,
- 1:21:30Speaker 17: all the different formations. You know, I feel I got
- 1:21:32Speaker 17: kind of getting a pretty good gist of it. I'm
- 1:21:34Speaker 17: still you know, still work in progress, getting new installs
- 1:21:36Speaker 17: in every day. But you know, I feel like i'm uh,
- 1:21:38Speaker 17: you know, smart kids, so trying to pick that up
- 1:21:39Speaker 17: pretty fast. And then uh kind of still working on
- 1:21:41Speaker 17: you'll command in huddle, you know, you know, spitting the
- 1:21:43Speaker 17: players out. You know, it's easy getting them and know
- 1:21:45Speaker 17: what I'm gonna do, but you know, telling those guys
- 1:21:47Speaker 17: and being in the huddle, and you know, most of
- 1:21:48Speaker 17: the different guys using my cadence, so little things just
- 1:21:50Speaker 17: playing quarterback, playing position, not as much you know, making
- 1:21:53Speaker 17: throws and stuff. But you also, I think footwork is
- 1:21:56Speaker 17: a big thing. So we've we've hashed on that, you know,
- 1:21:58Speaker 17: TC and and those guys and and cos Vin Pelt.
- 1:22:00Speaker 17: So I think it's a work in progress, and uh,
- 1:22:02Speaker 17: you know, I feel like I'm pretty good about it.
- 1:22:05Speaker 2: Is it like a lot of burgage that you have
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: to spit out?
- 1:22:07Speaker 17: Yeah, you know, some of them tend to be long,
- 1:22:08Speaker 17: you know, some of them ten to fifteen words and
- 1:22:10Speaker 17: some of them are three or four.
- 1:22:11Speaker 4: So it just depends.
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: But that's that's the NFL football for you.
- 1:22:15Speaker 5: When it comes to the footwork, stuff. ABP just said
- 1:22:18Speaker 5: that likes the progress you've made, But you know what
- 1:22:20Speaker 5: goes into that, Like, what's the day like for you
- 1:22:22Speaker 5: to to work on the mechanical stuff?
- 1:22:24Speaker 17: Yeah, I think you know it's timing up. I think
- 1:22:26Speaker 17: it's all about timing, you know, timing up the drops
- 1:22:28Speaker 17: with the with the concepts. You'll go back in the film,
- 1:22:30Speaker 17: Hey I used the right drop in my little early
- 1:22:32Speaker 17: I'm a little late going back and watching Rouds First Air.
- 1:22:35Speaker 3: I think Rouds First Air.
- 1:22:36Speaker 17: Is it as opportunity to say, hey, my my time's
- 1:22:38Speaker 17: up right and I'm using the right footwork under center?
- 1:22:40Speaker 3: You know, the run game footwork.
- 1:22:42Speaker 17: You know it's new for me, so you know, making
- 1:22:44Speaker 17: sure I'm turning the right way, and you know, using
- 1:22:46Speaker 17: all the right steps and the right fakes. You know,
- 1:22:47Speaker 17: fakes are important, So all of those things. It's you know,
- 1:22:50Speaker 17: got a lot goes in playing quarterbacks. So just trying
- 1:22:51Speaker 17: to focus on those things.
- 1:22:52Speaker 5: I wanted to ask you about touchdown that we saw.
- 1:22:54Speaker 6: I think it was seven on seven here we ended
- 1:22:56Speaker 6: up kind of throwing all the side arm, kind of
- 1:22:57Speaker 6: stepping up the fucking late in the play, kind of
- 1:23:00Speaker 6: shot one side arm too.
- 1:23:01Speaker 4: I can't remember who was calling.
- 1:23:03Speaker 17: Yeah, I think Pop, Yeah, me Pop in the back. Yeah,
- 1:23:06Speaker 17: just trying to make plays, you know. I think that's
- 1:23:07Speaker 17: you know, one of the best things I do is
- 1:23:08Speaker 17: making plays, you know, outside the pocket. I probably should
- 1:23:11Speaker 17: have got to a little earlier, you know, Like I said,
- 1:23:13Speaker 17: there's always different things to going too, so it made
- 1:23:14Speaker 17: a little late to him. But uh, you know, Pop's
- 1:23:16Speaker 17: a great player, made a lot of catches down there,
- 1:23:17Speaker 17: so just trying to I said, time up, you know,
- 1:23:19Speaker 17: the footwork with the concepts and uh, like I said,
- 1:23:22Speaker 17: I think making plays is you know part.
- 1:23:24Speaker 5: Working with Pop And how have you noticed, like what
- 1:23:28Speaker 5: does he bring us? Maybe different than on their receiver?
- 1:23:30Speaker 3: Yeah, you know Pop.
- 1:23:31Speaker 17: It reminds me a lot of a guy I played
- 1:23:32Speaker 17: with college, Josh Downs. They do a lot of the
- 1:23:34Speaker 17: same things. You can't you know, I can't guard him
- 1:23:36Speaker 17: in a pham booth. You're twitchy, you know speed, you know. Uh,
- 1:23:40Speaker 17: I think you know there's two things you can't you
- 1:23:42Speaker 17: can't work on, you know, speed and twitchingness.
- 1:23:43Speaker 3: So he's got them both and look forward to see
- 1:23:45Speaker 3: what he does.
- 1:23:45Speaker 5: Saw you kicking up chap with Kelloby was kind of
- 1:23:48Speaker 5: the second quarter back working on there. What did coaches
- 1:23:50Speaker 5: tell you about that decision?
- 1:23:52Speaker 9: Uh?
- 1:23:53Speaker 17: Yeah, I think it's just you know, I think it's
- 1:23:54Speaker 17: a battle. You know, me and me and Jacobe and Bailey.
- 1:23:56Speaker 17: You know we're battling. So, uh you mixing up who's
- 1:23:58Speaker 17: who goes with two each day and you know it's
- 1:24:00Speaker 17: not necessarily Hey you're going first, you're going second. You know,
- 1:24:02Speaker 17: Jacoby's getting first, and then you know from there we're
- 1:24:05Speaker 17: just playing by year obviously, has it matters how you
- 1:24:08Speaker 17: do with you know, when you're in there, So that's
- 1:24:10Speaker 17: what happens.
- 1:24:11Speaker 3: You're out in LA recently, the working from here and
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: I say, you spent a little.
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: Time with Tom Rain.
- 1:24:14Speaker 4: What was that experience?
- 1:24:16Speaker 17: Yeah, it was awesome, you know, getting a chance to
- 1:24:17Speaker 17: be around Tom. You'll see, you know how he's wired.
- 1:24:19Speaker 17: He's wired different and uh you know he's you know,
- 1:24:22Speaker 17: the goat. So just get to get a chance to
- 1:24:23Speaker 17: you know, have him, you know, hear some wisdom from him.
- 1:24:25Speaker 4: It is an awesome.
- 1:24:26Speaker 17: Experience and uh you're looking forward to hopefully you know,
- 1:24:29Speaker 17: getting asking some more questions.
- 1:24:30Speaker 3: That's about it. Yeah, tell you.
- 1:24:34Speaker 17: Yeah, just told me and my brothers aware just a
- 1:24:36Speaker 17: constant reminder. You know family first, you know family and
- 1:24:39Speaker 17: you know those are you know through my best friends
- 1:24:41Speaker 17: of older brothers. So just just a reminder he's douter.
- 1:24:44Speaker 3: But what was your perspective on what happened on the interception?
- 1:24:47Speaker 3: The second one would like maybe you expecting Antorio Gives
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: to keep running.
- 1:24:50Speaker 17: Yeah, yeah, just seeing man's own. It's always easy, you know,
- 1:24:53Speaker 17: to go right after and say hey I should.
- 1:24:54Speaker 3: Have done this or done that.
- 1:24:55Speaker 17: But you know, I thought he was going to keep
- 1:24:57Speaker 17: running and he may saw his own and stop. So
- 1:24:58Speaker 17: just be on the same page. You gotta make a
- 1:25:00Speaker 17: better decision and affect football.
- 1:25:03Speaker 5: You go to Tom's ceremony actually.
- 1:25:06Speaker 17: Yeah, the June twelfth. I mean, I hope to at
- 1:25:08Speaker 17: least he's in their support. I think that's the biggest
- 1:25:11Speaker 17: thing is you know Tom Brady day. It's hard to
- 1:25:12Speaker 17: you miss out on that, especially when you're in town.
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: So last question, trying to balance fall, Yeah, no doubt,
- 1:25:23Speaker 3: I think you know.
- 1:25:23Speaker 17: Main thing is you know this, you know what I do,
- 1:25:25Speaker 17: what I do, You know my jobs first, what I
- 1:25:27Speaker 17: do football wise is always gonna put that first, and uh,
- 1:25:30Speaker 17: you know, trying to balance that otherwise in that and
- 1:25:31Speaker 17: trying to get in the community. You know, I think
- 1:25:33Speaker 17: Boston's fans or you know, one of the best in
- 1:25:35Speaker 17: the country. So trying to get out. You'll get to
- 1:25:37Speaker 17: Sebis game and Ruins and your best plady is a
- 1:25:39Speaker 17: great orgization, you know, help and they call them buddies.
- 1:25:43Speaker 10: You know.
- 1:25:43Speaker 17: It's people who grow up with any actual development disabilities,
- 1:25:46Speaker 17: just trying to be out there and be the community
- 1:25:47Speaker 17: and give back and put a smile on my face.
- 1:25:49Speaker 3: So that's about it.
- 1:25:50Speaker 4: Thanks, And now great moments in.
- 1:25:57Speaker 2: History? Are you?
- 1:25:58Speaker 3: Are you going for barbers?
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: I don't know. I know I'm not a big barbecue guy.
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: What's wrong with really? No, I probably go across the
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: street to like Del Frisco's or something. Just bring back
- 1:26:08Speaker 2: the memories. I hate super Bowl.
- 1:26:12Speaker 5: Week super Bowl which you hate.
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: There three times I did expensed everyone.
- 1:26:18Speaker 5: One of the one of them was picked up.
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: What was the what was the go to?
- 1:26:21Speaker 3: Different things?
- 1:26:21Speaker 4: Different things each time or the same thing three times?
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: With you might have had different things, Yeah, just keyboarding
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: a steak. But the rabbi than the filet. I had
- 1:26:30Speaker 2: different things, different different parts of the animal. But it's
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: literally across the street, so yeah.
- 1:26:39Speaker 4: Right there, and there's a great breakfast joint on that
- 1:26:42Speaker 4: street to really Oh.
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: Yeah your breakfast.
- 1:26:46Speaker 3: Yes that's right.
- 1:26:48Speaker 4: If I ever travel scout, I'm in with you anything.
- 1:26:50Speaker 3: Damn right.
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: It's called Deserts House of Pies.
- 1:26:54Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what it's called.
- 1:26:55Speaker 2: I like pie.
- 1:27:00Speaker 4: Yes, definitely, that's another great moment.
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: Oh we're back. Oh hey, how's how's everybody doing?
- 1:27:13Speaker 5: Fine?
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: All caught me cleaning my my mouth after So before
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: the break I teased a little thought I had in
- 1:27:23Speaker 2: terms of gambling, and uh, you know, recently the end
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: the Major League Baseball just uh kicked that guy out
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: of baseball for life for gambling on his own team,
- 1:27:34Speaker 2: which that's the rules. You knew the rules. I'm not
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: saying that they shouldn't do that, but here's what I
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: was thinking. With gambling being more prevalent now and it's legal,
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: and all the leagues are buying into getting the sponsorship,
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: I think it's only a matter of time before somebody
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: gets in trouble then sues the league. You know, somehow,
- 1:27:53Speaker 2: there's gonna be problems down the road. So I'm thinking
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: maybe the league needs to start looking at gambling. If
- 1:27:59Speaker 2: a guy knows his rules and it's so compse you know,
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: has that compulsion to gamble. He probably has a problem,
- 1:28:07Speaker 2: maybe no different than alcohol or drugs. So maybe the
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: league treats gambling like that and says, okay, you're gonna gamble.
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: It's two years out of the league, during which you
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: have to go through intense counseling. And after that two years,
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: if you know, the program thinks you're ready to come back,
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: then you can come back. But you know, don't make
- 1:28:30Speaker 2: it an automatic band for life, because gambling is a problem.
- 1:28:34Speaker 2: It's a compulsion and some people can't help it and
- 1:28:37Speaker 2: they need help. And maybe that would avoid the lawsuit
- 1:28:41Speaker 2: that I think is inevitable someday. You know, I have
- 1:28:46Speaker 2: this compulsion. You surround me with all this temptation. Everywhere
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: I look in the stadium, it's gambling, it's DraftKings. You know,
- 1:28:53Speaker 2: of course I'm gonna gamble. I it's everywhere, on every
- 1:28:57Speaker 2: commercial it's it's you know, so I think that, okay,
- 1:29:01Speaker 2: it is It is a sickness, it's an illness. It's
- 1:29:04Speaker 2: a compulsion, but you have to go through counseling for
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: two years before you can come back and play. And
- 1:29:08Speaker 2: you know, I don't know, that's just a thought.
- 1:29:11Speaker 4: Well, I just I think of the disclaimer you read
- 1:29:12Speaker 4: that we joke about of help is on the way,
- 1:29:14Speaker 4: Like are you hopeless? Like you know it's it's already
- 1:29:16Speaker 4: baked into the language of what you know, an addiction
- 1:29:19Speaker 4: gambling can be. So I just wonder what the different
- 1:29:23Speaker 4: avenues are because I think the rules are different for us,
- 1:29:25Speaker 4: Like we can't gamble on anything, right, is that any sports?
- 1:29:28Speaker 4: You can't do anything? So is that same for the
- 1:29:30Speaker 4: players though? Can they?
- 1:29:31Speaker 2: It's not the same they just so I just wonder.
- 1:29:34Speaker 4: If it's someone like us who'll be like, why can't
- 1:29:36Speaker 4: I bet on hockey?
- 1:29:38Speaker 5: Like but that's how does that ever?
- 1:29:40Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 1:29:40Speaker 4: If they tried to, like I lost my job because
- 1:29:42Speaker 4: they caught me, Like that's like I think there's a
- 1:29:44Speaker 4: lawsuit there right absolutely doesn't have anything to do with
- 1:29:47Speaker 4: my job.
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:29:48Speaker 7: Well my question, and I don't know the answer, so
- 1:29:51Speaker 7: I'm not I'm not a lawyer, so I would never
- 1:29:54Speaker 7: ask a question I didn't know.
- 1:29:55Speaker 2: The answer to if I would just play one on PFL?
- 1:29:59Speaker 4: Is the.
- 1:30:01Speaker 3: This this lifetime suspension that this guy got?
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:30:04Speaker 3: Is it because he was gambling? Period? Or gambling? Like
- 1:30:09Speaker 3: like thought to be like fixing games.
- 1:30:13Speaker 7: He was actually injured at the time. He was injured
- 1:30:16Speaker 7: at the time, but he was in the dugout team
- 1:30:20Speaker 7: on his own team.
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: Yeah, And every time they say the story, it's he
- 1:30:24Speaker 2: was betting on his own team.
- 1:30:25Speaker 3: Right, So that would be like.
- 1:30:30Speaker 7: Your whole thing about the sickness and stuff like, so
- 1:30:33Speaker 7: you're gonna yeah, instead of banning him for life and
- 1:30:38Speaker 7: the lone exception, that to me would be as if
- 1:30:40Speaker 7: you had evidence that he was fixing the game, right, right,
- 1:30:44Speaker 7: do you know what I mean?
- 1:30:45Speaker 5: Like, that's not apparently the John de Porter, the guy
- 1:30:49Speaker 5: in the NBA that they caught, I guess they do
- 1:30:51Speaker 5: have evidence that he was trying to manipulate games overrun. Yeah,
- 1:30:57Speaker 5: I don't think fixing is the right word because he's
- 1:30:59Speaker 5: not gonna He was fixing on himself, yes, is what
- 1:31:03Speaker 5: he was doing.
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's enough and I and that's you know,
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: I've said this before in the show. I would ban
- 1:31:07Speaker 2: unders on the props. You can't bet unders because it's
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: too easy to manipulate for a player.
- 1:31:12Speaker 5: Well, yeah, it's crazy because people writers reporters have gone
- 1:31:16Speaker 5: back to his game logs and stuff like that. There's
- 1:31:19Speaker 5: one game in particular, where apparently he had a.
- 1:31:21Speaker 7: Stomach ache and tapped out of the game and then
- 1:31:25Speaker 7: like that's how win his under and hit the under
- 1:31:28Speaker 7: because he was like he wasn't hurt.
- 1:31:30Speaker 5: He like I said, oh, I like, I have a
- 1:31:31Speaker 5: tummy ache, So I'm out.
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: Like, but you know, on the one hand, I'm all
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: for the strictness, like, you know, you can do everything
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: else in life and you can't stop from gambling. But
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: then on the other hand, I can say those people
- 1:31:45Speaker 2: that can't stop from gambling can't stop. They've got a compulsion.
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: And so you know, guy gets DUIs. Now guys get
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: you know, pop for you know, substance abuse. I'm not
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: talking about peds. I'm talking about and they get suspend.
- 1:32:00Speaker 3: They don't get banned, you know, not for life, but
- 1:32:02Speaker 3: they but they lose seasons.
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: Yeah, they lose seasons. But they can come back if
- 1:32:06Speaker 2: they you know, show that they're okay now, And I
- 1:32:10Speaker 2: think maybe the leagues need to look at gambling the
- 1:32:13Speaker 2: same way.
- 1:32:14Speaker 4: You know, do the leagues have a specific gambling task
- 1:32:17Speaker 4: force within the leagues to investigate now, I mean, it
- 1:32:21Speaker 4: seems like they would need a crack commando unit.
- 1:32:24Speaker 7: I just think it's so much easier to catch them
- 1:32:26Speaker 7: now because it's all automated, especially the legal process they
- 1:32:30Speaker 7: have safeguards against. That's how they catch them, and certain
- 1:32:33Speaker 7: guys just using their DraftKings catches them.
- 1:32:35Speaker 5: Not you know what I mean, right, not sure Sho Tani.
- 1:32:39Speaker 7: Well, I obviously think they caught them, but that also
- 1:32:43Speaker 7: wasn't through legalized gambling.
- 1:32:44Speaker 5: I feel like that, right, But I feel like that's
- 1:32:48Speaker 5: that's what's gonna end up happening. If it's a player
- 1:32:49Speaker 5: of that ILK like the guy that got suspended for Baseball,
- 1:32:52Speaker 5: Dante Porter. These are bench guys like guys that don't matter.
- 1:32:55Speaker 5: But the show he Tani thing, MLB was just like,
- 1:32:57Speaker 5: don't I'll look over here, like.
- 1:32:59Speaker 4: This is nine.
- 1:33:00Speaker 7: Everything's fine, you know it, Just let's clear clearly was
- 1:33:05Speaker 7: somewhat involved in that, and they I don't think there's
- 1:33:08Speaker 7: much about that.
- 1:33:09Speaker 2: I think the and I think Major League they like,
- 1:33:12Speaker 2: we don't live in l A. I'm sure if you do,
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: you hear his name more, but man, you hardly hear
- 1:33:17Speaker 2: Otani's name anymore.
- 1:33:18Speaker 5: Yeah, he's on a couple of commercials.
- 1:33:20Speaker 2: Only for New Balance.
- 1:33:23Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, that Baseball.
- 1:33:25Speaker 7: So do you think that Major League Baseball has made
- 1:33:27Speaker 7: a concerted effort because he's on esp like every swing
- 1:33:30Speaker 7: he makes is on.
- 1:33:31Speaker 2: Real well on Sports Center. But I'm talking about like
- 1:33:33Speaker 2: promotions and MLB promotions for for the sport. I think
- 1:33:39Speaker 2: they're waiting for all the trial.
- 1:33:40Speaker 3: They put him on the back burner. I think, so
- 1:33:42Speaker 3: that's interesting.
- 1:33:43Speaker 5: He is the best player in baseball.
- 1:33:44Speaker 7: Yeah, so they hadwhere they did a clip last night.
- 1:33:48Speaker 7: You know, the the kid from l Shue that pitches
- 1:33:51Speaker 7: for the Pirates.
- 1:33:51Speaker 5: Paula, Oh yeah, boyfriend right.
- 1:33:57Speaker 3: And he pitched against Otani last night. They show the
- 1:34:00Speaker 3: three appen like you blew him away the first that bat,
- 1:34:02Speaker 3: and then Otani took him deep the next that bat.
- 1:34:04Speaker 2: Like that's still like the number one story still covers
- 1:34:09Speaker 2: him as news. But I'm talking about like the promote,
- 1:34:11Speaker 2: Like there's a fan due commercial and they show tons
- 1:34:13Speaker 2: of players in it. I don't think Otani's shown it.
- 1:34:16Speaker 7: Well, that's smart, like if that if they've said, you
- 1:34:19Speaker 7: know what, we're probably not going to include him and
- 1:34:22Speaker 7: the fan duel.
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: Add any the only ad I've seen him in his
- 1:34:24Speaker 2: new Balance because that's his brand. But I think they're
- 1:34:29Speaker 2: waiting to see this trials, just starting with his interpreter. Yeah,
- 1:34:33Speaker 2: and I think he's pleading guilty anyway, So it's going
- 1:34:35Speaker 2: to be very quick. You know, what's that you pled
- 1:34:39Speaker 2: guilty an hour ago. I think he's getting paid off.
- 1:34:43Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, so i'd be interested to know what
- 1:34:47Speaker 2: his sentence is.
- 1:34:49Speaker 5: Yeah, it's only a couple of years they negotiated down.
- 1:34:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:34:54Speaker 4: A little bit of Patriots news here, a couple of
- 1:34:56Speaker 4: reports out there, Marke Daniels, Chris Price. The Patriots are
- 1:34:59Speaker 4: signing receiver Jacquey Jackson, who was an undrafted rookie from
- 1:35:05Speaker 4: the Falcons out of Rutgers. So a little Rutgers pipeline.
- 1:35:09Speaker 5: But they just signed thirteen receivers.
- 1:35:12Speaker 4: Now another receiver earlier this week.
- 1:35:14Speaker 2: Now they have this, they have to make room for him.
- 1:35:16Speaker 4: Now, this was the stupor spot.
- 1:35:17Speaker 5: No, they did need to make io. Yeah, they they
- 1:35:20Speaker 5: needed to they make room for him.
- 1:35:23Speaker 3: It was David Wallach, right, yep, that's right, that's right.
- 1:35:28Speaker 5: Thirteen.
- 1:35:28Speaker 4: Yeah, he had cut twenty two passes for three hundred
- 1:35:31Speaker 4: and sixty one yards and a touchdown last year with Rutgers.
- 1:35:36Speaker 5: He only caught how many passes that Rutgers.
- 1:35:38Speaker 4: In twenty two all right, it's big dude.
- 1:35:41Speaker 7: What you mean there's not a guy who had like
- 1:35:43Speaker 7: one hundred and eleven catches last year that's available on
- 1:35:46Speaker 7: June sixth.
- 1:35:47Speaker 4: Man, they're thrown it all at the wall receiver though.
- 1:35:49Speaker 4: I mean, it's just I don't I don't even know what. Like,
- 1:35:51Speaker 4: you know, everyone talks about the reps at quarterback, but like,
- 1:35:54Speaker 4: how hard is it gonna be to get reps if
- 1:35:55Speaker 4: you're a receiver? I mean guys like even guys like Thornton,
- 1:35:59Speaker 4: who you know, for all intents and purposes on atop
- 1:36:01Speaker 4: the depth chart right now.
- 1:36:02Speaker 2: Like, well, but this guy probably is not gonna make
- 1:36:04Speaker 2: no no, I know, but I'm just saying I would
- 1:36:06Speaker 2: like to know how many thirteen? Yeah, I'd like to
- 1:36:08Speaker 2: know in the past, what's the highest number of the
- 1:36:10Speaker 2: Patriots have ever entered camp for wide receivers or in
- 1:36:13Speaker 2: my time on the beat.
- 1:36:14Speaker 5: We're getting there, We're getting there in terms of entering
- 1:36:17Speaker 5: training camp. Yeah, yeah, yeah, thirteen.
- 1:36:19Speaker 8: Is a lot.
- 1:36:19Speaker 2: Okay, but I just like to know how does that
- 1:36:22Speaker 2: compare it to other years?
- 1:36:23Speaker 5: Yeah, I have to go back and check, but it's
- 1:36:24Speaker 5: a lot.
- 1:36:25Speaker 4: Yeah. And then we talked too about Juju kind of
- 1:36:29Speaker 4: not having any special teams role, and he was just
- 1:36:32Speaker 4: working with Tyler Hughes, the wide receiver coach, during practice.
- 1:36:35Speaker 4: So there's just a lot that goes into it, and
- 1:36:38Speaker 4: you'd love to think that maybe one of these guys
- 1:36:41Speaker 4: is a gem. I mean, I kind of liked Wallace
- 1:36:42Speaker 4: just the camp. He looks quick, but it's just hard
- 1:36:45Speaker 4: to break through the noise. You really got to make
- 1:36:46Speaker 4: the most of opportunities. And then you know a guy
- 1:36:49Speaker 4: like Javon Baker who might be out next week, you know.
- 1:36:52Speaker 4: So it's just you want those guys with the talent
- 1:36:55Speaker 4: especially to be there. They're not gonna you know, It's
- 1:36:57Speaker 4: be so easy to lose time with so many wide
- 1:36:59Speaker 4: receivers on the roster.
- 1:37:00Speaker 2: Mark's in Connecticut. Hey Mark, Hey, guys, love your show.
- 1:37:05Speaker 2: Thank you, thank you.
- 1:37:06Speaker 12: Just wanted to say, jaheen Bell seems to be a
- 1:37:10Speaker 12: guy that's being talked about a lot. Seems like he
- 1:37:13Speaker 12: was a sleeper in the draft. I did a draft
- 1:37:15Speaker 12: board and I did not have him on my draft
- 1:37:17Speaker 12: board whatsoever. But he seems kind of like an Aaron
- 1:37:21Speaker 12: Hernandez type of guy where he's a smaller tight end
- 1:37:24Speaker 12: but you can move him around the formation a lot,
- 1:37:28Speaker 12: So I'm just kind of wondering, do you think that
- 1:37:30Speaker 12: they might run a lot of three three tight ends
- 1:37:33Speaker 12: that kind of like Cincinnati does and I think Cleveland
- 1:37:37Speaker 12: ran it a lot too as well.
- 1:37:39Speaker 2: Okay, thanks Mark. What do you guys think jaheen Bell?
- 1:37:43Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I agree with him that I feel
- 1:37:45Speaker 5: like he's someone that isn't your normal seventh round pick.
- 1:37:49Speaker 5: I think, you know, I had him in like the
- 1:37:50Speaker 5: fourth or fifth round somewhere around that way, and so
- 1:37:53Speaker 5: just on talent, he probably fell a little bit further
- 1:37:56Speaker 5: than people expected.
- 1:37:57Speaker 2: I'm sure they will didn't even have him on his board.
- 1:38:01Speaker 5: Well, one of us dedicates their whole life to this
- 1:38:03Speaker 5: and he probably has a nine to five to take
- 1:38:07Speaker 5: care of.
- 1:38:07Speaker 7: So by meeting thirty two NFL teams that picked him
- 1:38:11Speaker 7: in the seventh round, I think Mark was close to
- 1:38:13Speaker 7: being right.
- 1:38:13Speaker 4: Exactly awful lot of boards.
- 1:38:16Speaker 5: Yeah, you might have overrated him, I probably a little bit. Yeah,
- 1:38:20Speaker 5: but I think he did fallow through the cracks just
- 1:38:22Speaker 5: because he's this tweeter type of player. Yeah, where like
- 1:38:27Speaker 5: what is is he a tight end? Is he a
- 1:38:28Speaker 5: full back? Is he probably not a receiver? But it's
- 1:38:32Speaker 5: between those two. I would say of like tight end,
- 1:38:34Speaker 5: h back, full back, whatever you want to call it,
- 1:38:37Speaker 5: and I'm sure they will run multiple tight ends. Says though.
- 1:38:40Speaker 5: That's a very popular thing they did in Cleveland, and
- 1:38:42Speaker 5: I he obviously could be involved in that.
- 1:38:44Speaker 4: Yeah, I think the reasons you said, well, I kind
- 1:38:47Speaker 4: of steered away from him because it's just I couldn't
- 1:38:50Speaker 4: see exactly how it fit. I think more of the
- 1:38:52Speaker 4: tight ends I was looking at were, let's just get
- 1:38:54Speaker 4: a third guy who can really block and is a
- 1:38:56Speaker 4: big dude, and you know, maybe he can contribute a
- 1:38:58Speaker 4: couple catches, but it sounds great in theory that he
- 1:39:01Speaker 4: can move around and do all these things. I don't
- 1:39:03Speaker 4: really think I noticed him much until this last practice
- 1:39:05Speaker 4: when he had I think one or two catches.
- 1:39:06Speaker 5: But that's the biggest thing is when I was talking
- 1:39:09Speaker 5: to Jim Nagy and his coach down at Florida State
- 1:39:12Speaker 5: for the profile we did on him, was just, yeah,
- 1:39:15Speaker 5: it's great that he can do all these different things,
- 1:39:16Speaker 5: but if you can't hang your hat on one thing
- 1:39:19Speaker 5: that you do really really well, they seem to feel
- 1:39:21Speaker 5: like it was actually getting up the field, like running
- 1:39:24Speaker 5: the seam. He's pretty fast, He's like six low four sixes,
- 1:39:28Speaker 5: which is fast for a tight end. So if there's
- 1:39:30Speaker 5: one trait that they felt like was a standout trade
- 1:39:32Speaker 5: of his vertical speed at the position, which is a
- 1:39:35Speaker 5: little unique. So I think when you look at his
- 1:39:37Speaker 5: role in their offense, it's probably like a light version
- 1:39:41Speaker 5: of David and Joku. Like he's not gonna be as
- 1:39:43Speaker 5: good as David and Joku obviously, but somebody that can
- 1:39:46Speaker 5: run deep over seems posts routes, you know, from off
- 1:39:50Speaker 5: play action.
- 1:39:51Speaker 2: I mean, I've heard that comparison to Aaron Hernandez, and
- 1:39:53Speaker 2: I know it's just on the field, but Aaron Hernandez,
- 1:39:57Speaker 2: if it weren't for the flags, would have been a
- 1:39:59Speaker 2: first round pick. Yeah or close.
- 1:40:01Speaker 5: I don't think he plays like Aaron Hernandez because Aaron
- 1:40:04Speaker 5: Hernandez was quick, oh yeah, really quick. Jaane Bell is
- 1:40:08Speaker 5: a straight line, explosive type of guy. I think, you know,
- 1:40:13Speaker 5: Johnny Smith is probably a better comp if you want
- 1:40:16Speaker 5: to go former Patriot tight end, I would say Johnny
- 1:40:19Speaker 5: not as big, Jamee Bell is not as big.
- 1:40:22Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I agree.
- 1:40:23Speaker 4: Hernandez's cutback ability was what stood out to be like
- 1:40:26Speaker 4: even from the get go, Well, in the middle of
- 1:40:28Speaker 4: the field that just stop and go the other direction.
- 1:40:31Speaker 5: I've never seen a tight end that's as quick with
- 1:40:37Speaker 5: his feet as Hernandez, since maybe Kelsey is like the closest.
- 1:40:41Speaker 4: Thing to It's funny you say that that because I
- 1:40:43Speaker 4: don't like, I don't want to get into the semantics
- 1:40:44Speaker 4: of comps and stuff, but like, that's when I watched Kelsey.
- 1:40:47Speaker 4: I'm like, that's the universe that I think Aaron Hernandez
- 1:40:50Speaker 4: would have lived in if he had had a long,
- 1:40:51Speaker 4: productive NFL career, that he he would have been an
- 1:40:54Speaker 4: absolute nightmare for for teams the way he could move
- 1:40:57Speaker 4: in his size.
- 1:40:58Speaker 2: Yeah, sad, It's a shame. Bobby and Puerto Rico just
- 1:41:02Speaker 2: wanted to quickly go back to Tuesday's conversation about the
- 1:41:05Speaker 2: quirks you guys have when speaking. Can't let Evan get
- 1:41:08Speaker 2: away clean like he did Tuesday. There are two phrases
- 1:41:12Speaker 2: in Spanish that I've heard him say many times and
- 1:41:14Speaker 2: always incorrectly. In Spanish, he says mano imano when referring
- 1:41:20Speaker 2: to hand to hand combat, which actually means hand and hand,
- 1:41:24Speaker 2: instead of mono ah mono, which is hand to hand.
- 1:41:27Speaker 2: I have no idea what Also, when referring to a
- 1:41:30Speaker 2: player's testicular fortitude, it is pronounced cohonyes, not cajonyes. A
- 1:41:36Speaker 2: cahone is an instrument. Well, all jokes aside, All jokes aside.
- 1:41:43Speaker 2: You're very glad he joined the Patriots team because he
- 1:41:45Speaker 2: is extremely knowledgeable and insightful, and I have learned a
- 1:41:48Speaker 2: lot from him when it comes to the team. I'm
- 1:41:51Speaker 2: excited about all the young talent on offense, but I
- 1:41:53Speaker 2: really do not like and don't have much faith in
- 1:41:56Speaker 2: the offensive coaching staff. Can't wait for the season to
- 1:41:59Speaker 2: get here so we can see what the team has
- 1:42:01Speaker 2: to offer.
- 1:42:02Speaker 5: I actually have more faith in the offensive coaching staff
- 1:42:05Speaker 5: over time of us actually getting some opportunities to talk
- 1:42:09Speaker 5: to them and get to know them a little bit
- 1:42:11Speaker 5: then I did maybe before. I feel like Alex Vnpelt
- 1:42:15Speaker 5: knows what he's doing. I don't know if the results
- 1:42:16Speaker 5: are going to be there. I'm not saying that, but
- 1:42:18Speaker 5: when you talk to him and you listen to his
- 1:42:20Speaker 5: press conferences, that's a guy that knows offensive football. Like
- 1:42:23Speaker 5: it's very similar to Bill O'Brien.
- 1:42:25Speaker 7: I feel like those guys know like I don't think
- 1:42:28Speaker 7: Texas knows are a problem. What I want to see
- 1:42:31Speaker 7: is what they want to do. You know, do they
- 1:42:33Speaker 7: want to be like you know, Van Pelt has talked
- 1:42:36Speaker 7: about wanting to be sort of ground oriented, ground and pound.
- 1:42:39Speaker 7: If that's the case, I'm going to be so troubled.
- 1:42:43Speaker 3: Not so much.
- 1:42:44Speaker 2: Jack In and Arbor wants to school us on why
- 1:42:47Speaker 2: they introduced aluminum bats. Funny, I know that I know
- 1:42:51Speaker 2: wooden bats break save the truth. I just like them better.
- 1:42:55Speaker 4: They're crazy though. You see some of these bats that
- 1:42:57Speaker 4: some of these kids walk into the Little League with
- 1:42:59Speaker 4: where it's like the handles this size, and then it's
- 1:43:01Speaker 4: like a softball bat, like it's like one of those
- 1:43:03Speaker 4: giant ones.
- 1:43:04Speaker 3: So that changed.
- 1:43:06Speaker 7: That changed too, like about five six years ago. It
- 1:43:09Speaker 7: used to be the regulation bats were like kind of
- 1:43:12Speaker 7: almost more like a softball bat. Then they went to
- 1:43:15Speaker 7: the big barrel that's more regulation now harder to hit
- 1:43:19Speaker 7: with it. I think they wanted to sort of tamp down.
- 1:43:23Speaker 7: Like the Little League World Series was coming home run
- 1:43:25Speaker 7: derby and I think, like, you don't you don't know
- 1:43:29Speaker 7: these different bats, but the Orange Maco was like lift off,
- 1:43:33Speaker 7: like the kids were hitting home runs left and right.
- 1:43:36Speaker 4: Yeah, Camel's get into those a little bit.
- 1:43:37Speaker 3: It's a little harder to find the sweet spot. I
- 1:43:39Speaker 3: had a green bat, green eastern. Was it actually green
- 1:43:44Speaker 3: green writing?
- 1:43:45Speaker 5: I think it was. I don't know, it was the
- 1:43:48Speaker 5: bat when Yeah, growing up.
- 1:43:50Speaker 4: There's always that. There's always the hockey stick too.
- 1:43:52Speaker 2: So if you were a pro baseball player, I know
- 1:43:56Speaker 2: they all use woulden bat? What kind of bat would
- 1:43:58Speaker 2: you use?
- 1:44:00Speaker 5: Rawlings?
- 1:44:01Speaker 2: Rawlings?
- 1:44:01Speaker 3: Don't they use like Louisville slugger Like maple bats?
- 1:44:04Speaker 2: Now, well they do, but all kinds like would you
- 1:44:06Speaker 2: have like the brown maple with the with the you
- 1:44:10Speaker 2: know they have the axe handle or would you have
- 1:44:12Speaker 2: the traditional handle or.
- 1:44:14Speaker 7: I would not use an axe handle because that to
- 1:44:16Speaker 7: me is uncomfortable, but I have I don't know, I
- 1:44:18Speaker 7: don't know from wooden bats.
- 1:44:20Speaker 2: Would you use a thinner handle with a bigger barrel?
- 1:44:23Speaker 4: I don't know, but I would definitely be like a
- 1:44:25Speaker 4: modify it kind of guy. Like that was one of
- 1:44:27Speaker 4: my favorite things with hockey, was like modifying my stick,
- 1:44:30Speaker 4: getting the curve right, the right tape job, the gloves.
- 1:44:34Speaker 4: You gotta have the right gloves. Like a big, big,
- 1:44:36Speaker 4: look aesthetic kind of guy. So I assume I would
- 1:44:39Speaker 4: be like that in baseball.
- 1:44:39Speaker 2: Would you be a thirty four ouncer, thirty two ouncer,
- 1:44:42Speaker 2: like you know, all that stuff.
- 1:44:44Speaker 4: I'd do all the answers.
- 1:44:45Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:44:46Speaker 5: Actually have a bat from Many Ramirez. Yeah, it was
- 1:44:50Speaker 5: that's cool. Gifted to me as a kid. My dad
- 1:44:54Speaker 5: knew somebody that owns some apartments in the Fenway area
- 1:44:58Speaker 5: and Red Sox players would rent the apartments from him
- 1:45:02Speaker 5: and they would give him at the end of the
- 1:45:04Speaker 5: season when they would leave, they give them gifts.
- 1:45:07Speaker 2: How big was the bat?
- 1:45:08Speaker 5: It's big? Yeah, yeah, it's that's a cool.
- 1:45:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:45:12Speaker 4: I got an anomot stick that he gave me. That's
- 1:45:15Speaker 4: kind of cool that he signed it. But it's same thing,
- 1:45:17Speaker 4: like all modified, like he would like cut off his
- 1:45:20Speaker 4: the blade and it was like a square. I mean
- 1:45:21Speaker 4: it's probably illegal because it was sharp, but now it's
- 1:45:24Speaker 4: cool when you get that stuff as a kid, especially
- 1:45:25Speaker 4: like the equipment stuff. I always ate it up.
- 1:45:28Speaker 2: Anthony in Seattle has a message for Evan. I was
- 1:45:33Speaker 2: listening to Catch twenty two and Evan mentioned that he
- 1:45:36Speaker 2: used to hate the off season rabbit hole topics the
- 1:45:39Speaker 2: crew would talk about, but as he's mature, he has
- 1:45:42Speaker 2: learned to love it. However, I believe it is the
- 1:45:45Speaker 2: other way around. Evan came in too mature and it
- 1:45:48Speaker 2: took a while, but the gang eventually wore him down,
- 1:45:51Speaker 2: and he has immatured. He has embraced us all.
- 1:45:54Speaker 4: He is now one of us, one of us.
- 1:45:57Speaker 2: You understand what he's saying there.
- 1:45:58Speaker 5: I would concur I don't know about the maturity.
- 1:46:00Speaker 4: Watch down to our level now, it was the conspiracy.
- 1:46:03Speaker 4: We unlocked this level of Evan that we could be it. Well,
- 1:46:09Speaker 4: you just got to find how little quirks, because we
- 1:46:11Speaker 4: all have our little quirky topics that you can bring
- 1:46:13Speaker 4: up that.
- 1:46:13Speaker 7: See how fast he jumped on his pet peeves today.
- 1:46:16Speaker 7: Well I know, and that's because I hate I.
- 1:46:18Speaker 5: Up, I really do.
- 1:46:21Speaker 4: That's why I teed up the Pam thing, Like you know,
- 1:46:23Speaker 4: he's look, we've watched these weird quirks like that.
- 1:46:25Speaker 5: So last night we were watching we were watching the
- 1:46:27Speaker 5: Office for in season three and she gets back together
- 1:46:31Speaker 5: with Roy and that's just we're just supposed to agree
- 1:46:34Speaker 5: with that, Like, oh yeah, good move, Pam. You you
- 1:46:36Speaker 5: called off the wedding the day before the wedding and
- 1:46:38Speaker 5: you got back together with the same guy, awesome.
- 1:46:40Speaker 4: Are you subjecting Jess to all this while you're watching it?
- 1:46:43Speaker 4: She's just like I don't need I.
- 1:46:45Speaker 2: Well, Jay and Rhode Island says, I have to disagree
- 1:46:47Speaker 2: with the take from the last show. Pam is a
- 1:46:50Speaker 2: terrible character, but Skyler from Breaking Bad is the worst
- 1:46:53Speaker 2: character of all time.
- 1:46:54Speaker 5: I didn't say she was the worst character from all time.
- 1:46:57Speaker 5: I just said she's a bad character.
- 1:46:58Speaker 2: Yeah, and Addison says, Paul, if you have any intention
- 1:47:03Speaker 2: of watching The Office, I strongly recommend skipping season one
- 1:47:07Speaker 2: and starting with season two. And I think, much like
- 1:47:10Speaker 2: Drake may will need to they were searching for it
- 1:47:12Speaker 2: in season one.
- 1:47:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I have. I've seen a lot of episodes in
- 1:47:16Speaker 3: the Office, I just haven't watched them sequentially. Yeah.
- 1:47:19Speaker 4: Well, the first one character are the pilot was an
- 1:47:22Speaker 4: exact not exact, but they americanized the BBC version, so
- 1:47:25Speaker 4: it's almost exactly the same as what they did, and
- 1:47:27Speaker 4: they did it took them a little while to kind of.
- 1:47:29Speaker 3: Find their niche.
- 1:47:30Speaker 4: Yeah, well, to go with Steve Carrell more than Ricky Gervas,
- 1:47:33Speaker 4: because Ricky Gervais's forget what his name was, Yeah whatever,
- 1:47:37Speaker 4: I forget what his his name? Was but David something,
- 1:47:41Speaker 4: but you know, he had his own quirks, even though
- 1:47:43Speaker 4: the Dwight guy was this guy named Gareth that was hilarious,
- 1:47:47Speaker 4: and I mean, they kind of made them their own.
- 1:47:49Speaker 4: But I hear his point. It took them a little while.
- 1:47:51Speaker 4: With all TV shows.
- 1:47:53Speaker 2: I was a big Seinfeld fan prior, so I stuck
- 1:47:56Speaker 2: with it. But if I was just judging that show
- 1:47:58Speaker 2: in the first season of this, this is.
- 1:47:59Speaker 5: Yeah, I would say season one of The Office, there's
- 1:48:03Speaker 5: not a lot of plot, and then when you get
- 1:48:05Speaker 5: into season two of The Office is when the relationship
- 1:48:08Speaker 5: started and everybody sort of kind.
- 1:48:10Speaker 4: Of But that was what was so hard when you know,
- 1:48:13Speaker 4: this was my world, but it was like, you know,
- 1:48:14Speaker 4: you put all this work into these shows and they'd
- 1:48:16Speaker 4: be like, you got four episodes and you know when
- 1:48:18Speaker 4: you get canceled after four or five, and it's like,
- 1:48:20Speaker 4: you don't. None of these shows really find their sides
- 1:48:23Speaker 4: until you start to realize who the characters are and
- 1:48:25Speaker 4: they start to write more to the actors' strengths and
- 1:48:27Speaker 4: you know, so it's it's just if you don't find
- 1:48:29Speaker 4: kind of that magic stride within those first like five
- 1:48:32Speaker 4: to ten episodes, you might not even you know, you
- 1:48:34Speaker 4: at least need a nugget, which I think The Office
- 1:48:36Speaker 4: did do.
- 1:48:37Speaker 5: But because The Office season one had the basketball episode,
- 1:48:41Speaker 5: like they have some really good episodes in season one,
- 1:48:43Speaker 5: but it's short, right, like, well they're only I think
- 1:48:45Speaker 5: it's like ten.
- 1:48:46Speaker 2: Like even you know, the dynamic between Gilligan and the Skip,
- 1:48:49Speaker 2: it took a little lot, you know.
- 1:48:52Speaker 3: Just it's a great point. They didn't even have the
- 1:48:54Speaker 3: full cast, right. The Rest and the Rest.
- 1:48:57Speaker 2: Nolan in California Tuesday was my favorite show. And to
- 1:49:00Speaker 2: talk about the relationship about Pam. To help Evan's point,
- 1:49:04Speaker 2: let's us not forget when Jim wanted to pursue his dream,
- 1:49:08Speaker 2: Pam was very hesitant. There is also a theory in
- 1:49:11Speaker 2: the later season when they started fighting more that her
- 1:49:14Speaker 2: and one of the camera guy, Brian, hooked up and
- 1:49:17Speaker 2: that's why he got fired like a camera.
- 1:49:20Speaker 4: A real camera guy or the no, like a fake
- 1:49:23Speaker 4: camera guy.
- 1:49:25Speaker 5: Documentary.
- 1:49:26Speaker 4: But they never really acknowledge, right, I don't know. I
- 1:49:28Speaker 4: mean I remember you see them occasionally, right, but you
- 1:49:30Speaker 4: never actually see the crew.
- 1:49:33Speaker 5: But that's very true about the first point is another
- 1:49:36Speaker 5: point in my my Pam very very objective to Jim
- 1:49:42Speaker 5: wanting to move to Philadelphia to pursue his dreams. But
- 1:49:44Speaker 5: then art school comes up, and it's like, oh, everybody's
- 1:49:46Speaker 5: got to drop everything for Pam to go to art school.
- 1:49:49Speaker 4: She's gonna be the next Picasso and in her thirties gone,
- 1:49:54Speaker 4: it's beautiful.
- 1:49:56Speaker 2: Lots of emails coming in, so let's take a phone call.
- 1:50:02Speaker 2: Let's go to with that one every time Fidel's in Tampa.
- 1:50:05Speaker 2: What's up, Fidel?
- 1:50:07Speaker 8: Hey, how are you.
- 1:50:07Speaker 15: Guys doing good?
- 1:50:09Speaker 5: Hello?
- 1:50:10Speaker 15: I had two quick things. One take from Tuesday's show
- 1:50:14Speaker 15: that I had in secret because I was embarrassed to
- 1:50:16Speaker 15: stay out loud, but Paul confirmed it.
- 1:50:19Speaker 2: So thank you.
- 1:50:21Speaker 15: I knew that, yeah, but it's a good one. I
- 1:50:24Speaker 15: knew that Drake May is going to be good or
- 1:50:27Speaker 15: do well with the Patriots because he grew up with brothers,
- 1:50:30Speaker 15: and I saw how his brothers that cliped on. If
- 1:50:32Speaker 15: you guys saw all four of his brothers like doing
- 1:50:35Speaker 15: the Fab five thing for Michigan. Oh he's a pretty boy.
- 1:50:39Speaker 3: Yeah yeah yeah, beep.
- 1:50:42Speaker 15: Yeah, So you saying that same exact thing. Oh, he's
- 1:50:45Speaker 15: gonna do well because he had brothers and' like ah
- 1:50:47Speaker 15: that I had that take. I feel justified not having
- 1:50:50Speaker 15: to be alone on that because I felt like I've
- 1:50:51Speaker 15: ever called in and said, oh, he's gonna be good
- 1:50:53Speaker 15: because he has brothers, I would have been laughed out.
- 1:50:55Speaker 15: So I appreciate you having that.
- 1:50:57Speaker 3: I think it helps him.
- 1:50:58Speaker 2: I do.
- 1:50:58Speaker 5: I think one of his brothers, little brother brother probably
- 1:51:02Speaker 5: might be here.
- 1:51:04Speaker 3: Oh yeah, you may like living with them.
- 1:51:07Speaker 4: Oh that's good.
- 1:51:07Speaker 7: Yeah, And for now, I wouldn't say necessarily he's going
- 1:51:11Speaker 7: to be good because he's got older brothers that weren't good.
- 1:51:15Speaker 3: But I think it helps sort of like tough in
- 1:51:18Speaker 3: you yeah.
- 1:51:19Speaker 2: Gets you used to competition, Yeah yeah.
- 1:51:22Speaker 15: And my last thing was I listen to you guys
- 1:51:25Speaker 15: since like probably twenty ten because I was like in
- 1:51:28Speaker 15: high school and now I'm almost thirty.
- 1:51:31Speaker 2: So thank you.
- 1:51:33Speaker 5: Same yeah, right, you grew up.
- 1:51:35Speaker 15: But I've attended a couple of Patriots games I've seen.
- 1:51:39Speaker 15: I've seen the twenty eleven Money Night football game with
- 1:51:41Speaker 15: Tom Brady. We threw five hundred yards and the nine
- 1:51:43Speaker 15: yard pass to Welcare. I was in the actually end
- 1:51:46Speaker 15: zone of that, so that was amazing. I'm actually one
- 1:51:48Speaker 15: of my first Patriots games in Jillefe Stadium for the
- 1:51:54Speaker 15: Chargers game, and he's sitting at one o eight right
- 1:51:57Speaker 15: behind on the fifty yard line, excited for that one
- 1:52:02Speaker 15: anyst like forty. What's one thing? I've always heard people
- 1:52:06Speaker 15: call him ask what's one thing? I'm in Boston? I
- 1:52:09Speaker 15: half their attend Wow.
- 1:52:11Speaker 4: Of course with the busting guys talk. I mean, I
- 1:52:15Speaker 4: mean food, food, What do you like?
- 1:52:17Speaker 5: What's your favorite activity?
- 1:52:19Speaker 2: Food?
- 1:52:19Speaker 3: Fat guys.
- 1:52:20Speaker 15: I just I just love food. I used to be
- 1:52:23Speaker 15: four pounds.
- 1:52:23Speaker 2: So there you go.
- 1:52:25Speaker 5: I would say the North End, if you want to eat, is.
- 1:52:27Speaker 2: An Italian I would go down, you know, get some
- 1:52:31Speaker 2: uh seafood near the ocean.
- 1:52:34Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, to be outside.
- 1:52:38Speaker 7: Yeah yeah, fish place, Yeah, you could do that too,
- 1:52:42Speaker 7: parking crab something like that.
- 1:52:43Speaker 5: Yeah, good spot by the Conventions.
- 1:52:46Speaker 4: Just legal seafood. Yeah, that's good. That's good. Seaport is
- 1:52:49Speaker 4: a good area. Seaport's a good area. Yeah, walk around
- 1:52:52Speaker 4: there a little bit.
- 1:52:52Speaker 2: I mean, you know, the Freedom Trail. We were kind
- 1:52:55Speaker 2: of jaded about it, but if you've never been to
- 1:52:57Speaker 2: Boston before, I think it's you should do.
- 1:53:00Speaker 4: Just go to Quincy Market too.
- 1:53:01Speaker 3: Yes, yes, I mean that's.
- 1:53:03Speaker 2: Is dirt and park still open.
- 1:53:06Speaker 4: Close that we did my dad's sixtieth birthday there. I'd
- 1:53:08Speaker 4: never been there, but it was.
- 1:53:10Speaker 7: Yeahaniel Hall is a good call to North End and
- 1:53:12Speaker 7: Fanuel Hall are very close, so you can you can
- 1:53:15Speaker 7: do that all and one fell swoop.
- 1:53:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:53:17Speaker 4: And you're right near the garden too.
- 1:53:19Speaker 2: If you are you are you with someone significant other?
- 1:53:22Speaker 15: No, just myself trip, just to go the way.
- 1:53:25Speaker 2: If you're with your you know, uh lady's house or whatever,
- 1:53:28Speaker 2: you know, Newberry Street, it's a good take. And all
- 1:53:30Speaker 2: the shopping that you don't want to take.
- 1:53:33Speaker 3: I don't want to do that.
- 1:53:34Speaker 5: Don't tell her that friend, don't tell her that she's Coppley.
- 1:53:38Speaker 5: And then you're right here in the hole.
- 1:53:41Speaker 15: Yeah, thank you guys so much.
- 1:53:42Speaker 5: I love it all right, do you guys ever?
- 1:53:44Speaker 2: Thanks for doubt.
- 1:53:45Speaker 4: Do you guys ever need to like, like I really
- 1:53:47Speaker 4: need a couple of shirts and I'm like, and I
- 1:53:48Speaker 4: gotta go. But if I say I'm going, well I
- 1:53:51Speaker 4: need something too, and then you're like, and now I'm
- 1:53:53Speaker 4: dropping like three hundred bucks, And I'm like, I could
- 1:53:55Speaker 4: just go in and out two shirts forty forty, Like
- 1:53:58Speaker 4: I'll cheap one, you know, fine, but like there's no
- 1:54:01Speaker 4: way I feel like I's like sneak off to do it,
- 1:54:03Speaker 4: because I know anytime we bring the whole team, it's
- 1:54:06Speaker 4: like cheating off. The kids need the kids need sweat pants,
- 1:54:09Speaker 4: and you know, I just I really just need order
- 1:54:11Speaker 4: it online and have it delivered here.
- 1:54:13Speaker 2: I need to try it on them. I've never seen
- 1:54:15Speaker 2: that trip before. Oh yeah, I've had it in the back.
- 1:54:17Speaker 4: I just.
- 1:54:19Speaker 7: Just the same stuff all the time. That way, you
- 1:54:22Speaker 7: never need more shirts. I just have three of these same.
- 1:54:25Speaker 4: Shirt, another polo. I mean, it just makes it.
- 1:54:27Speaker 2: Easy, Rob Wrights. In speaking of gambling, I think it's DraftKings,
- 1:54:34Speaker 2: where the baseline approach for the betting app is that
- 1:54:37Speaker 2: the fundamentals is that a gambler cannot pick two correct
- 1:54:41Speaker 2: results for over under. In other words, the app is
- 1:54:45Speaker 2: confident that the customer can't even pick two correct results
- 1:54:49Speaker 2: for over understand. I think that's no, I don't understand.
- 1:54:56Speaker 4: I heard that Lane just chiming in.
- 1:55:01Speaker 3: Nice. Nice, you deserve that love, You you deserve that love.
- 1:55:05Speaker 2: You mean it.
- 1:55:06Speaker 7: Beth gets like she's fascinated because I never obviously shop,
- 1:55:12Speaker 7: but if I need something, it literally takes me thirty
- 1:55:15Speaker 7: five seconds. Like I'll go, I need a pair of
- 1:55:19Speaker 7: golf pants, in and out, and she's like, it paid
- 1:55:22Speaker 7: like one hundred and twenty dollars.
- 1:55:23Speaker 3: I don't know. Is that what they call? I don't look.
- 1:55:26Speaker 2: I just get them. You like what I like?
- 1:55:28Speaker 3: I like those. Yeah, I'm gonna get expensive taste my chinos.
- 1:55:33Speaker 3: You know I need I need a golf shirt.

- 1:55:37Speaker 3: She's like, couldn't you look around a little bit? I go,
- 1:55:40Speaker 3: that takes time. Wants to do that.
- 1:55:43Speaker 2: I like to get in and out.
- 1:55:44Speaker 3: I don't go to stores, although I did that with
- 1:55:46Speaker 3: my last car.
- 1:55:47Speaker 2: I did that.
- 1:55:48Speaker 7: I was in, I did a test drive, came back.
- 1:55:50Speaker 7: I go, yeah, all right, good, she goes. I thought
- 1:55:52Speaker 7: you would just go on a look. I go, it
- 1:55:54Speaker 7: was good, and now I've regretted it ever since. So
- 1:55:57Speaker 7: she was right about one.
- 1:55:58Speaker 5: Okay, the only time of my shopping stores is on
- 1:56:01Speaker 5: the vineyard. Yeah, you go to the Vines Fines or
- 1:56:05Speaker 5: Black Dog or whatever. But other than that, everything gets delivered.
- 1:56:08Speaker 4: Well's the rent them outlets. I imagine that your wife
- 1:56:10Speaker 4: hit some damage to the rent them outlets and they
- 1:56:11Speaker 4: live very close. The place is dangerous.
