- 0:25Speaker 3: Return to Glory podcast. Hunter Zarbonicki, Austin Rhodes, Dakota Free Tech.
- 0:31Speaker 4: 5-0. Can we say it together?
- 0:33Speaker 5: 5-0.
- 0:33Speaker 3: 5-0.
- 0:35Speaker 4: I was still.
- 0:38Speaker 1: In high school last time that they were 5-0. Junior
- 0:43Speaker 1: in high school. That's how long it's been.
- 0:48Speaker 4: You're young.
- 0:49Speaker 5: They've had a long time.
- 0:50Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 0:51Speaker 5: You're reading such youth.
- 0:52Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 0:53Speaker 6: 5-0.
- 0:53Speaker 7: It's good.
- 1:01Speaker 4: It's good.
- 1:02Speaker 3: And we got a big week ahead of us here.
- 1:06Speaker 3: And we'll get to a lot of Indiana stuff here.
- 1:09Speaker 3: But today we're going to focus here on Maryland and
- 1:14Speaker 3: go through the game.
- 1:15Speaker 4: Obviously, part of that's leading into Indiana. But I do
- 1:20Speaker 4: think we got to take.
- 1:21Speaker 3: A moment and just appreciate where we're at right now
- 1:23Speaker 3: as a program and where we have been in the
- 1:25Speaker 3: past on October 5th in previous years.
- 1:28Speaker 4: And it feels pretty good.
- 1:32Speaker 3: To be 5-0 and where we're at, regardless of who
- 1:36Speaker 3: we played, I don't care at this point. Obviously, we're
- 1:40Speaker 3: going to see more things moving forward here, but 5-0
- 1:45Speaker 3: feels good.
- 1:49Speaker 4: Thoughts on Maryland's win?
- 1:50Speaker 6: 5-0 does feel good, but there were a lot of
- 1:57Speaker 6: times during Maryland's win that I did not vote, even
- 1:59Speaker 6: though we won by.
- 1:59Speaker 5: 20 points. The first half, I didn't feel good. First
- 2:05Speaker 5: half was.
- 2:08Speaker 6: I know we scored 28 points. It was very hot
- 2:12Speaker 6: and cold. I don't know what it was like at
- 2:17Speaker 6: the stadium, but it felt like the fans really didn't
- 2:20Speaker 6: get into it until the fourth quarter.
- 2:22Speaker 5: That's how I felt at home.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I'm with you on that. It's a weird feeling.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I mean, they ended up I would say killing Maryland,
- 2:31Speaker 1: but it didn't feel like that at the beginning there.
- 2:33Speaker 1: That first quarter, I was like, oh crap, we overlooked
- 2:36Speaker 1: this team, we're looking ahead next week. That whole first
- 2:38Speaker 1: quarter was not good at all.
- 2:39Speaker 3: The whole Woxley message of saying our crowd was not
- 2:44Speaker 3: very good, maybe he had some truth to that, I
- 2:47Speaker 3: don't know.
- 2:48Speaker 5: I think he does have some truth to that.
- 2:51Speaker 3: We've said that for a while, I don't know, we're
- 2:54Speaker 3: not the most intimidating place to play, and obviously the
- 2:57Speaker 3: way the game started, it did that way.
- 2:59Speaker 4: But Yeah.
- 3:00Speaker 3: I think it, yes, it was, it was that way.
- 3:05Speaker 3: And I mean, I don't think Loxley's wrong on that,
- 3:10Speaker 3: but obviously the game ended the way it did. And
- 3:15Speaker 3: we added another game like this before already this year
- 3:19Speaker 3: that you look at the final score and you go, okay, like, yep, that's,
- 3:22Speaker 3: that's good. I think we've covered the spread in every game.
- 3:24Speaker 3: North Dakota is like, eh.
- 3:26Speaker 4: So like, I don't know. Like, yeah, you can look
- 3:29Speaker 4: at the start and be very.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Upset.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Question mark, question mark, question mark on the first, first
- 3:36Speaker 4: start of the game. But by the end of it,
- 3:39Speaker 4: it ended the way it did.
- 3:40Speaker 3: And, and I, I guess where my head's at, I'm like, I'm,
- 3:43Speaker 3: I'm excited, but I'm not like the stuff that has happened.
- 3:48Speaker 4: I'm not like.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Convinced we're going to go 11 and one or 10, but,
- 3:52Speaker 3: but it, it, there's part of me is like, maybe like, can.
- 3:57Speaker 6: We, The fact that we had 11 penalties, was it
- 4:02Speaker 6: nine in the first half? Did we get to double
- 4:04Speaker 6: digit in the first half?
- 4:08Speaker 4: I remember seeing on the, I think we did. I
- 4:09Speaker 4: think I remember seeing on the scoreboard.
- 4:11Speaker 6: And we still had 28. We were still up by
- 4:15Speaker 6: whatever it was, five, five points. I think, um, It
- 4:24Speaker 6: makes you think that, you know, like, okay, maybe we
- 4:26Speaker 6: are decent if we can make up for that many mistakes.
- 4:29Speaker 6: But we also made that many mistakes. And Maryland might
- 4:31Speaker 6: not be very good. So maybe it's, that's how bad
- 4:35Speaker 6: Maryland is.
- 4:36Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Well, and again, I think we've always, we've said this
- 4:40Speaker 3: about our first five opponents. Maybe this team's not very good.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Maybe this team's very good. Like, I'm over all that, like, lingo.
- 4:48Speaker 3: I get it if you want to look at it
- 4:50Speaker 3: for the future.
- 4:50Speaker 4: But I'm like, we won.
- 4:52Speaker 3: And we won handily. I like the panel. Let's talk
- 4:58Speaker 3: about the penalties. Cause I, I, we can just start
- 5:01Speaker 3: with that.
- 5:01Speaker 4: I don't know. We started the penalties this morning on
- 5:03Speaker 4: Monday morning. Cause why not?
- 5:04Speaker 6: I mean, it was definitely the outside of the wind.
- 5:07Speaker 6: That was the, the thing of the game.
- 5:11Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 5:11Speaker 6: Like there was 16 penalties between the two teams and
- 5:15Speaker 6: we had 11 of them. Yeah.
- 5:18Speaker 1: That's especially interesting. which we said these teams that we've
- 5:21Speaker 1: played so far aren't very good, but especially this week,
- 5:24Speaker 1: Indiana and everyone else, Oregon and all that, we cannot
- 5:27Speaker 1: make up for those penalties in there. But we did
- 5:29Speaker 1: this game, and I don't know, this season I feel like,
- 5:33Speaker 1: do you feel like that's been the main story, like
- 5:36Speaker 1: the main bugaboo for Nebraska has been their penalties?
- 5:39Speaker 5: I think so.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Because, man, we've had a lot this year.
- 5:43Speaker 4: Yeah, so, Austin, I don't know what stat you just said.
- 5:46Speaker 4: What did you say, 16 penalties?
- 5:47Speaker 5: I thought it was 16 total between both teams.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Nope, you're way off on that. There were 28 total
- 5:52Speaker 3: between both teams, and we had 16 of them.
- 5:55Speaker 5: Okay, that's what it was. Sorry, sorry, sorry.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Like, I.
- 5:59Speaker 4: Here's... There's multiple sides to go about this, and.
- 6:04Speaker 5: Rule.
- 6:05Speaker 4: I mean, you can touch on everything. Rule touched on
- 6:07Speaker 4: it all, too, in his postgame, but.
- 6:11Speaker 4: One, this crew.
- 6:13Speaker 3: apparently, and this is more of a rule comment, but
- 6:16Speaker 3: I don't know. Maybe he didn't say, I don't know.
- 6:17Speaker 3: This crew struggled in the past, whoever did the game. Um,
- 6:21Speaker 3: the fact that both teams had double digit penalties is
- 6:25Speaker 3: something to keep to mention. I also think there's still
- 6:33Speaker 3: reason for cause for concern.
- 6:35Speaker 4: On a lot of that.
- 6:36Speaker 3: And like listening to the post game and callers and
- 6:39Speaker 3: all of that, like, obviously this was, this was the topic. So,
- 6:42Speaker 3: That's why we're going to talk about it a little
- 6:43Speaker 3: more because the first part of the Ohio game too,
- 6:50Speaker 3: a little bit of where we were at with this
- 6:52Speaker 3: as well. I, I, this is where my brain like
- 6:56Speaker 3: in where I'm at in watching football in my life
- 7:00Speaker 3: on penalties.
- 7:03Speaker 4: There's good penalty.
- 7:04Speaker 3: There's not, there's not ever a good penalty, but there's
- 7:07Speaker 3: penalties that are penalties because you're playing hard and.
- 7:12Speaker 4: Actually, it's probably three types. Okay, so one, the penalty
- 7:14Speaker 4: is you're playing hard.
- 7:17Speaker 3: And you happen to get a holding or you happen
- 7:19Speaker 3: to get a pass interference because you're really, you're just
- 7:22Speaker 3: a little bit too aggressive. Like you're playing hard. They're
- 7:25Speaker 3: not stupid. They're not like, they're not anything to do
- 7:29Speaker 3: with execution or being sharp. The second one, what I
- 7:33Speaker 3: just mentioned, being sharp, like crisp. Those are your false starts.
- 7:37Speaker 3: Those are your illegal procedures. Not having guys, enough guys
- 7:41Speaker 3: in the field. like you're just your, your execution type,
- 7:45Speaker 3: that stuff.
- 7:46Speaker 1: And your third penalties right there, your third.
- 7:48Speaker 4: Are your like dumb.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Late hit out of bounds, blocking the backs behind the play,
- 7:56Speaker 3: your stupid penalty. So celebration, those three categories, I would
- 8:02Speaker 3: say the last two, you don't want any of, or
- 8:07Speaker 3: very minimal of, and we had some of those in
- 8:10Speaker 3: this game. Um, We also had some that I think
- 8:15Speaker 3: were a product of playing hard, I guess. But then
- 8:18Speaker 3: I think those that was what rules talking about, like
- 8:21Speaker 3: a couple of the holds that were called, I think
- 8:23Speaker 3: were like questionable on what we're calling here. But yeah, we,
- 8:27Speaker 3: we still had some of the bad stuff.
- 8:32Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:32Speaker 6: Like I was fine with the, we got the roughy
- 8:35Speaker 6: and the kicker on that pump that I'm pretty sure
- 8:38Speaker 6: he got a finger on, but you can see on
- 8:41Speaker 6: the footage that, you know, it's like, well, you're right there.
- 8:44Speaker 6: And the ball knew it 24 yards. Like, and it
- 8:47Speaker 6: wasn't like a dumb, like you weren't even close to
- 8:50Speaker 6: hitting the ball. It was, it extended their driving. They
- 8:54Speaker 6: were going to three, three points, but that one's okay.
- 8:58Speaker 6: Cause then they ended up blocking the punt the next time.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:03Speaker 1: It's just, um, I don't know. They, it's got to
- 9:08Speaker 1: really clean up those stupid bet.
- 9:10Speaker 6: Like the, I know you don't understand that three of
- 9:15Speaker 6: those five categories you're more okay with, but I guess
- 9:19Speaker 6: the better opponent.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Yeah, we can't be having those. I mean, those 15-yard
- 9:24Speaker 1: penalties are killers.
- 9:27Speaker 4: What I'm saying is there's not good penalties.
- 9:29Speaker 3: I guess I did say that, but not like you
- 9:33Speaker 3: ever want penalties, but I'm saying there's some that you
- 9:37Speaker 3: can be okay with and live. You're not going to
- 9:38Speaker 3: go through a season and have zero penalties a whole year.
- 9:41Speaker 3: There's some that you can be okay with because you're...
- 9:47Speaker 3: Going back to the catastrophic thing, those aren't the catastrophic
- 9:50Speaker 3: plays and stuff I'm talking about. The catastrophic plays are
- 9:53Speaker 3: the ones that you're beating yourself up. Those are the
- 9:57Speaker 3: ones that we... We didn't have too many this game.
- 10:00Speaker 3: I don't even know if any of them were really catastrophic,
- 10:03Speaker 3: but they add up. They just pile on each other
- 10:06Speaker 3: and they don't help drives either way on slowing teams
- 10:12Speaker 3: down or putting together a drive.
- 10:14Speaker 5: And you're right.
- 10:16Speaker 4: You might get away with.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Something like that against Maryland or Michigan State, but when
- 10:20Speaker 3: you play a team that's better than you athletically and
- 10:24Speaker 3: you're an underdog, not going to help you.
- 10:31Speaker 1: I mean, at least we're sitting here and we're nitpicking
- 10:36Speaker 1: these wins. Like, like we're still 5-0 and I, I
- 10:41Speaker 1: would say the first five games there hasn't been, they've
- 10:45Speaker 1: all been kind of blowouts. Like, Nothing's been too close
- 10:48Speaker 1: at the end here. Sure, the first half, third quarters, whatever,
- 10:51Speaker 1: have been a little scary, but these games end up
- 10:54Speaker 1: being where we're killing these teams.
- 10:58Speaker 6: Yeah, Maryland, their offense just fell apart in that second half.
- 11:01Speaker 6: They couldn't do anything in the second half.
- 11:05Speaker 5: They don't know.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Speaking of that, what has happened to Malik Washington? I
- 11:10Speaker 1: thought he was, like... I thought he was super good
- 11:13Speaker 1: coming into the year. I was big on him, but now,
- 11:15Speaker 1: the last two games, he's just completely falling apart.
- 11:20Speaker 4: Why don't you tell us? I don't know.
- 11:22Speaker 1: I think, I mean, he's... What's he have? Six picks
- 11:27Speaker 1: the last two games?
- 11:29Speaker 5: I mean, it looks like he is... I mean, it's
- 11:32Speaker 5: because he's forcing it.
- 11:33Speaker 6: I mean, part of it was, I mean, when you're
- 11:35Speaker 6: down 15 points in the fourth quarter, you kind of
- 11:38Speaker 6: push it, and then.
- 11:41Speaker 5: I don't think the receivers are doing him any, any,
- 11:42Speaker 5: any help.
- 11:45Speaker 1: No, yeah. Yeah. The town around him is not very
- 11:48Speaker 1: good either. That's.
- 11:51Speaker 4: I mean, I think they have one of the best
- 11:52Speaker 4: receivers in the country.
- 11:55Speaker 5: Well, they have one guy who's caught it a lot. Yeah.
- 11:57Speaker 4: I mean, I think, I mean, I think he's, I mean,
- 12:00Speaker 4: I don't know. Did you guys watch the game? He's
- 12:01Speaker 4: pretty fricking good. Like that single guy.
- 12:04Speaker 5: He's easy.
- 12:04Speaker 4: I was impressed by him.
- 12:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:09Speaker 3: I will say this with, with, Maryland. I mean, you're, you're, you're,
- 12:12Speaker 3: there's an interesting spot as a program. Um, and I
- 12:16Speaker 3: heard a great analogy by, uh, in the post game talk,
- 12:22Speaker 3: Maryland's like that basketball team that is showy. They have
- 12:25Speaker 3: like a couple of really cool plays and a couple
- 12:27Speaker 3: of really flashy dunks and, and, and like to play
- 12:31Speaker 3: really just crazy and fast.
- 12:32Speaker 4: But it's not sustainable for four quarters.
- 12:35Speaker 3: It's, it's, it's cool. Like it's fun to watch for
- 12:37Speaker 3: a And that is just what they reminded me of.
- 12:43Speaker 3: And Malik Washington's part of that, obviously. But I also
- 12:47Speaker 3: think where they're at as a program and their coach,
- 12:50Speaker 3: that's what happened. And you mentioned, you know, their offense
- 12:55Speaker 3: fell apart in the second half.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:00Speaker 3: And it's a lot of credit to our defense, too.
- 13:02Speaker 3: But it's also just where they're at as a program. And,
- 13:05Speaker 3: you know, I'll say this, where we're not as a program.
- 13:08Speaker 3: We're at the part where we want to bear, you know,
- 13:10Speaker 3: we want to bury teams and do it. We did
- 13:11Speaker 3: in the second half and we did that. The big play,
- 13:14Speaker 3: like this is, we haven't even said this yet. The biggest,
- 13:17Speaker 3: like part of this game that I, I mean, it, it,
- 13:21Speaker 3: it did beginning of the game.
- 13:22Speaker 4: I guess I.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Was getting my brain to the point where like, we're, we, we,
- 13:27Speaker 3: we might lose this game. You know, I didn't think
- 13:30Speaker 3: that when it was 16, seven and I was, my
- 13:32Speaker 3: brain was creeping there when they were driving on that
- 13:34Speaker 3: next drive. And I'm like, Oh boy, like, we might
- 13:39Speaker 3: actually find a way to lose this game somehow if
- 13:41Speaker 3: we can't stop him was then the pick six by
- 13:44Speaker 3: Dwayne McDougal. So it just, it flipped everything from that
- 13:48Speaker 3: point forward.
- 13:50Speaker 4: And it literally was like, Holy shit.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Okay.
- 13:54Speaker 4: Like we're okay.
- 13:56Speaker 5: I agree.
- 13:56Speaker 4: We're okay. It was huge. It was a huge play.
- 14:01Speaker 3: It was, it wasn't one of those either that like
- 14:04Speaker 3: talk about Malik Washington and, and, what happened to him.
- 14:08Speaker 3: It wasn't what happened to Malik Washington. It was a
- 14:10Speaker 3: bad pass. It was a calculated play that we went
- 14:15Speaker 3: through in practice, knew it was coming, made the right
- 14:20Speaker 3: read on the play, jumped the pass.
- 14:23Speaker 5: See ya.
- 14:26Speaker 6: I had the same thought as they were going. I
- 14:29Speaker 6: don't remember what, the 40-some yard line. It's just like,
- 14:33Speaker 6: if we don't stop them here, like, It gets a
- 14:36Speaker 6: little bit hairier going into this.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Sorry, yeah, I think I said 16-7.
- 14:41Speaker 4: It was 23-14.
- 14:42Speaker 5: 23-14, yeah.
- 14:44Speaker 3: And this would have made it potentially 30-40 if they
- 14:47Speaker 3: would have went in. It was right before half, and
- 14:49Speaker 3: it was like, whoa, okay. Now, I felt like we
- 14:54Speaker 3: were going to win 48-23 at that point, but you
- 14:56Speaker 3: just felt like, all right, we feel better.
- 15:00Speaker 6: Right, giving up 30 points in the first half would
- 15:02Speaker 6: not have felt good at all.
- 15:04Speaker 4: Hey guys, it was crazy.
- 15:05Speaker 3: I just kept looking at that scoreboard and that number
- 15:07Speaker 3: just kept going up and up. I mean, even the
- 15:09Speaker 3: first quarter, but it just was like, what in the,
- 15:13Speaker 3: it was, it was scary.
- 15:15Speaker 4: Like, it was like, oh shit.
- 15:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 15:17Speaker 1: I mean, I, I think we all have the same
- 15:19Speaker 1: feeling there. Like we hadn't done much to stop them
- 15:21Speaker 1: at all yet before that pick six, like they were
- 15:23Speaker 1: driving on us most of that game. And thank God
- 15:28Speaker 1: that's what flipped the game right there. Cause, cause they
- 15:30Speaker 1: didn't do nothing after that really like, That completely flipped it,
- 15:34Speaker 1: and then we turned it on after that.
- 15:37Speaker 4: Well, and what was crazy was not only did we
- 15:39Speaker 4: just go score, we get the ball back.
- 15:42Speaker 5: And then our two-minute drill looked incredible.
- 15:45Speaker 3: And once again, we score with no time left on
- 15:47Speaker 3: the clock for the second week in a row. And
- 15:51Speaker 3: we go into halftime up by five in a half.
- 15:55Speaker 5: That– Shouldn't have been up by five.
- 15:58Speaker 3: It didn't feel good the whole half until that pick six.
- 16:02Speaker 3: So– It was crazy, and then it also, that is
- 16:07Speaker 3: the narrative of a team, of where they're at. Once
- 16:09Speaker 3: you do this, now they're just, Maryland goes, here we
- 16:12Speaker 3: go again, and Nebraska, once we felt good about where
- 16:17Speaker 3: we were at, then second half, you make your adjustments,
- 16:21Speaker 3: come out, and in the second half, did what we did,
- 16:23Speaker 3: and we controlled the clock, controlled the game, and didn't
- 16:26Speaker 3: let Maryland score.
- 16:27Speaker 4: We went, I don't know if you guys saw the stat.
- 16:34Speaker 3: We had the ball for 11 minutes in the 15
- 16:36Speaker 3: minutes in the third quarter. We then came back to
- 16:40Speaker 3: our what we know how to do. I was actually
- 16:45Speaker 3: talking about that at the game with somebody. I said,
- 16:50Speaker 3: it's hard to... It's a little bit hard to... This
- 16:53Speaker 3: goes back to the identity thing a little bit. When
- 16:55Speaker 3: the game was going the way they did, they ran tempo.
- 16:58Speaker 3: We get down early. We're playing more run the ball,
- 17:02Speaker 3: control the clock, wear the other team out, which I love.
- 17:07Speaker 3: That's the identity that you love. It's a little bit
- 17:09Speaker 3: hard to think, is this going to work? Because they're
- 17:13Speaker 3: ahead by nine. Is this going to be fine to do?
- 17:16Speaker 3: And then we found that again once you get a lead.
- 17:19Speaker 3: That is the problem playing that way. To get behind,
- 17:23Speaker 3: it's hard to stick to it.
- 17:26Speaker 4: But we found it, did it, done.
- 17:30Speaker 1: And 148-23.
- 17:32Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, because it was the reverse. Because in
- 17:39Speaker 6: the first quarter, I'm pretty sure, if I remember correctly,
- 17:41Speaker 6: Maryland had the ball for 11.
- 17:42Speaker 5: Of the 15 minutes.
- 17:44Speaker 4: Yes, yep.
- 17:45Speaker 6: So, it was a good course correct. And part of
- 17:47Speaker 6: that was because we did have that special teams play.
- 17:49Speaker 6: And we did have the blocked punt. So, there was
- 17:51Speaker 6: the short field.
- 17:52Speaker 5: And I think we... I don't remember when our first
- 17:54Speaker 5: interception was. Was that in the first half?
- 17:58Speaker 4: Yes, that was pretty early, too.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Okay, that's what I thought.
- 18:01Speaker 4: Okay. And that was also a good play, but, I mean,
- 18:06Speaker 4: it's funny.
- 18:07Speaker 3: We actually hit that same route combo later on a
- 18:09Speaker 3: couple times in the second half. So it's just funny how,
- 18:12Speaker 3: I mean, the defensive back actually came off of his
- 18:15Speaker 3: guy on a different route and made a good read and.
- 18:19Speaker 4: Picked it.
- 18:20Speaker 3: So I wouldn't say it was a horrible, like, stupid
- 18:25Speaker 3: forced pass.
- 18:26Speaker 4: It was a good play by the defender. It's a
- 18:29Speaker 4: catastrophic play. You don't want that. By any means. You
- 18:32Speaker 4: don't want a turnover like that.
- 18:36Speaker 6: I was surprised. It felt like Kwasi Gilmer was the
- 18:41Speaker 6: only receiver. Not the only receiver, but he was the
- 18:43Speaker 6: first read every pass. There were so many. I don't
- 18:47Speaker 6: know what his target share was, but it had to
- 18:49Speaker 6: be like $ 60.
- 18:53Speaker 5: 5% or higher. It seems like every pass to Kwasi.
- 18:57Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, he's easily Calandria's go-to guy. He's shown
- 19:00Speaker 1: that so far. Which I feel like this was the
- 19:01Speaker 1: game where it's like, okay, this was the most.
- 19:06Speaker 5: Unbalanced.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I think we've ironed that out this game. Kwasi
- 19:10Speaker 1: Gilmore's number one, and Isaiah Hunter, I just don't think
- 19:12Speaker 1: we're going to be using that much this year. We
- 19:13Speaker 1: haven't had all these first five games, which is kind
- 19:17Speaker 1: of surprising, but I think it's proven that he's probably
- 19:20Speaker 1: not going to be a big part of the offense
- 19:21Speaker 1: this year.
- 19:22Speaker 4: Like, Yeah, and I wouldn't write it off. I mean, I.
- 19:27Speaker 6: Agree.
- 19:30Speaker 3: Between last game and then this game, it's evident. It's
- 19:32Speaker 3: good to have a go-to guy, and Kilmer's really freaking good.
- 19:36Speaker 5: He is.
- 19:37Speaker 4: He's got the complete speed.
- 19:40Speaker 5: He's big. He's fast. Good possession.
- 19:42Speaker 4: Route running. He's got a very good complete package. What
- 19:46Speaker 4: I think is good, though, is we have.
- 19:50Speaker 3: I'm not going to write these other guys off because
- 19:53Speaker 3: we know they've done good things before. What's good is
- 19:58Speaker 3: if Indiana says, oh shit, Colandria really loves Gilmer. He's
- 20:03Speaker 3: their target. Look at his target share. That's his go-to guy.
- 20:07Speaker 3: What's good about that is if I would assume that
- 20:12Speaker 3: if Indiana goes to stop that, we are going to
- 20:14Speaker 3: have some counters to say, all right, well, then let's
- 20:18Speaker 3: have Jacory and Isaiah have a game. And they're capable.
- 20:24Speaker 3: It's not like as a coaching staff, you're sitting here
- 20:27Speaker 3: in Nebraska going, can they have a good game? Can
- 20:30Speaker 3: Jacory go off? Can Isaiah go off? Like they've done
- 20:33Speaker 3: it before. So it's not a matter of are they
- 20:37Speaker 3: good enough, but they're still there. We just have a
- 20:40Speaker 3: guy right now that Calandria loves, which is great. There's
- 20:44Speaker 3: nothing wrong with that.
- 20:45Speaker 4: That's awesome. He's good. He's shown he can do it.
- 20:49Speaker 3: I think it only helps our offense by the way
- 20:51Speaker 3: that this kind of played out.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Yeah, you definitely want to go to a guy like
- 20:55Speaker 1: on third downs, you know where that ball is going
- 20:57Speaker 1: to go. That's huge to have a go-to guy like that.
- 21:00Speaker 6: He had that great catch where he got the ball out.
- 21:04Speaker 6: The defender was all over him. He wasn't quite a touchdown.
- 21:07Speaker 6: I think it was within the it was in the
- 21:10Speaker 6: red zone and he was able to hold onto the
- 21:12Speaker 6: ball while being tackled.
- 21:14Speaker 5: And it's just, yeah, it felt good. But yeah, you're right. Dak,
- 21:18Speaker 5: it is. I mean, Isaiah was, he was our leading receiver,
- 21:21Speaker 5: like a receiver last year.
- 21:23Speaker 6: And I mean, right now he's our sixth leading receiver
- 21:29Speaker 6: for the year.
- 21:29Speaker 5: So he's there. I don't know.
- 21:31Speaker 6: Maybe the connect, maybe it's just, that's not either drawn
- 21:33Speaker 6: it up for me. They realize he's not as good
- 21:35Speaker 6: as quasi or. And this is the other thing.
- 21:39Speaker 3: That I liked and I heard your quarterbacks always, I mean,
- 21:42Speaker 3: your quarterbacks have favorite guys, right? Your quarterbacks do at
- 21:46Speaker 3: all levels. You have guys that you just, you like
- 21:48Speaker 3: to trust because you practiced it and all that. Like
- 21:51Speaker 3: that's just that. Unfortunately, I'd say is not that person.
- 21:55Speaker 3: And I, you know, we know nothing about his headspace
- 21:59Speaker 3: and where he's at from a practice standpoint. We don't
- 22:02Speaker 3: know any of that, but like, but, For whatever reason,
- 22:06Speaker 3: Calandria is not going to Isaiah Hunter, and that's just happening.
- 22:09Speaker 4: So he's still playing. He's not, like, getting benched.
- 22:13Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 22:15Speaker 5: And I do think– oh, go for it.
- 22:17Speaker 3: I want to talk about– I want to get your
- 22:19Speaker 3: guys' thoughts on Calandria, too, because this is the other, like,
- 22:21Speaker 3: big– is his– well, I guess overall his game performance
- 22:28Speaker 3: here on Saturday.
- 22:32Speaker 5: I mean, it was good. He had what?
- 22:35Speaker 6: Almost 400 yards, 350. So we were at quite 400,
- 22:40Speaker 6: I guess. Um, I feel like this was the first
- 22:46Speaker 6: game where we really leaned on his running though.
- 22:49Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 22:50Speaker 6: I mean, we've seen him run, but I felt like
- 22:52Speaker 6: when we were struggling offensively, even though we scored 28 points,
- 22:57Speaker 6: it felt like we were struggling offensively.
- 22:59Speaker 5: I don't, it was weird.
- 23:00Speaker 6: And you know, that's our, uh, In the first quarter,
- 23:10Speaker 6: it's like, okay, we like kind of get some.
- 23:15Speaker 5: Feel like that's money.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I think you're done there, but but yeah, I
- 23:26Speaker 1: don't know if that was you or if that, if
- 23:28Speaker 1: that was me or, or Austin, but he went kind
- 23:30Speaker 1: of like, yeah, no, no, he was, he was cutting
- 23:32Speaker 1: out really bad for me. But no, that's it. He, yeah.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Same with the whole team. He started so early. Like
- 23:40Speaker 1: he was struggling. He threw that pick. I'm like, Oh boy,
- 23:42Speaker 1: here we go. Like that was, I don't think that
- 23:45Speaker 1: was good pass at all, but they turned around. Like
- 23:47Speaker 1: you said, the run game.
- 23:49Speaker 4: Amazing.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Like he's, he used his feet great in that game.
- 23:52Speaker 1: And he's, you can just tell that he's played, he's
- 23:55Speaker 1: a senior football player. He's played a lot of football
- 23:57Speaker 1: or junior, whatever he is. He's played a lot of football.
- 24:00Speaker 1: He's just smart. And he knows how to like some,
- 24:04Speaker 1: some quarterbacks in the past that they started out like that.
- 24:06Speaker 1: The whole game would have been just terrible for him,
- 24:08Speaker 1: but he rebounded. I would say a great game by him.
- 24:16Speaker 4: Run game. You're right.
- 24:18Speaker 3: The, the quarterback designed run game got broken out in
- 24:21Speaker 3: the first half. I think that was the thought was
- 24:27Speaker 3: when we needed it, we're going to use it. And
- 24:29Speaker 3: the first half was just the way it was going
- 24:31Speaker 3: was scary. And we broke it out and used it.
- 24:34Speaker 3: And then we continued to use it. Ended up being
- 24:36Speaker 3: our leading rusher right at 108 yards. And, I mean,
- 24:41Speaker 3: he had the big hurdle play. That's the one talked
- 24:44Speaker 3: about on social media.
- 24:45Speaker 4: That was cool. But I think that's going to be
- 24:49Speaker 4: a big piece. And you know what?
- 24:50Speaker 3: I don't think it came at a bad time. Before
- 24:52Speaker 3: the Indiana game, I mean, I don't think other teams
- 24:55Speaker 3: were shocked, are going to be shocked that he can
- 24:59Speaker 3: run it. Like, that's not something that's like, oh, he
- 25:01Speaker 3: can run it for 100 yards in a game. That's
- 25:03Speaker 3: not surprising. But now you kind of see how we
- 25:06Speaker 3: were doing it. So, yeah, maybe it would have been
- 25:08Speaker 3: nice to save that for Indiana if you were planning
- 25:11Speaker 3: to use it then. But it's on film now. You know,
- 25:15Speaker 3: you're going to have to account for his run game,
- 25:17Speaker 3: designed runs too, not just scrambling.
- 25:19Speaker 4: So, good there.
- 25:21Speaker 3: The other reason why I brought this up and just
- 25:23Speaker 3: talking generally about him, there were a lot of people,
- 25:26Speaker 3: and neither one of you mentioned it, which is good
- 25:29Speaker 3: because this is the angle I have too, that are
- 25:32Speaker 3: upset about him missing throws. And he had a couple of,
- 25:38Speaker 3: especially a couple of deep ones that he overthrew slightly and.
- 25:42Speaker 4: Were upset about his accuracy.
- 25:44Speaker 3: And this is, I'm talking about like, this is why
- 25:46Speaker 3: I listen to the post game because you have some
- 25:48Speaker 3: fans that call in and it's like immediate reaction what
- 25:51Speaker 3: their thoughts are in the game. We're concerned about him
- 25:56Speaker 3: missing throws. And actually, like, Jeremiah Searles and those guys
- 26:00Speaker 3: after talked about that, too.
- 26:01Speaker 4: Like, it wasn't his best game. And I'm like, yeah.
- 26:06Speaker 3: Like, I understand maybe where they're coming from because he
- 26:08Speaker 3: did have the worst pick of the year so far,
- 26:10Speaker 3: I guess. But, like, the quarterbacks in general, they just
- 26:16Speaker 3: have such an unrealistic expectation on More so on completing passes.
- 26:23Speaker 4: Like, it's hilarious.
- 26:29Speaker 3: Fans, like, name a quarterback that goes 28 for 28
- 26:33Speaker 3: at any level.
- 26:35Speaker 4: There's going to be missed throws, and I get it.
- 26:37Speaker 3: You can be upset with missing a throw here or there,
- 26:40Speaker 3: but it's not like Landry was 19 for 42. Like,
- 26:46Speaker 3: you're not going to be perfect. At any level, the
- 26:48Speaker 3: best quarterbacks in the world overthrow deep balls.
- 26:51Speaker 4: Like, that happens. Yeah, do you want to complete him? Absolutely.
- 26:56Speaker 4: That'd be awesome. Every time. But it's just funny. That
- 27:00Speaker 4: was a big.
- 27:01Speaker 3: Groan of concern. Like, oh, my God, he's missing throws.
- 27:04Speaker 3: He might not be very good of a passer.
- 27:09Speaker 5: He's as good as we thought he was going to be.
- 27:11Speaker 4: Yeah, I was like, yeah.
- 27:13Speaker 1: It's not better, yeah.
- 27:14Speaker 4: I don't know. I didn't know if you guys had
- 27:17Speaker 4: the same. thought after a couple.
- 27:18Speaker 3: Of those there were I think I remember one distinctly
- 27:21Speaker 3: that was a touchdown if you had put it on
- 27:23Speaker 3: them on the dot and like.
- 27:25Speaker 5: Yeah I know exactly what you're talking about.
- 27:27Speaker 3: I get it it's nice to have that but like
- 27:30Speaker 3: I don't know it's just it's just funny people are
- 27:33Speaker 3: back to nitpicking the the stuff like that that I
- 27:36Speaker 3: just think is unreasonable and and stuff that again it's
- 27:40Speaker 3: not catastrophic now if you miss seven touchdowns in the
- 27:44Speaker 3: game Yeah, you can chalk that up to maybe not
- 27:47Speaker 3: being very good, but there's going to be missed throws.
- 27:50Speaker 3: There's going to be inaccurate throws. It happens in the NFL, too.
- 27:55Speaker 3: If you watch football, it happens every game.
- 27:57Speaker 4: I mean, he's throwing.
- 27:59Speaker 1: What, 66%?
- 27:59Speaker 5: What is it for the year? Yeah, about 66%. If
- 28:02Speaker 5: he was throwing.
- 28:03Speaker 6: 68 69 you probably feel way better it's like is
- 28:10Speaker 6: it really worth getting upset about those two percentage points.
- 28:13Speaker 1: You know yeah i'm i'm definitely not walking out of
- 28:15Speaker 1: that game being like man calandria has to play better
- 28:17Speaker 1: that's that is definitely not one of the things i
- 28:19Speaker 1: was worried about coming.
- 28:20Speaker 7: Out yeah now our average yard per reception was four
- 28:23Speaker 7: yards of reception and he was throwing 66 and yards
- 28:27Speaker 7: per target was five yards it's like okay now i'm
- 28:29Speaker 7: getting worried because he can't he can't throw it five
- 28:32Speaker 7: yards downfield but that's that wasn't really what was happening
- 28:35Speaker 7: it was Well, we tried a lot.
- 28:36Speaker 5: Of deep shots and yeah, he missed a.
- 28:39Speaker 6: Couple of deep balls, but he also threw it 40 times,
- 28:43Speaker 6: which was, we had a lot of offensive snaps somehow.
- 28:46Speaker 4: Yeah. I haven't said this at one time yet.
- 28:50Speaker 3: That was the longest goddamn game.
- 28:52Speaker 5: Yeah. It took forever.
- 28:57Speaker 3: When the clock was at like nine 23 in the
- 28:59Speaker 3: first quarter and we were there for a half hour already,
- 29:01Speaker 3: I was like, Oh, my God.
- 29:04Speaker 6: Between all the penalties and then both offenses just passing
- 29:08Speaker 6: the ball a lot. Because our running game wasn't really
- 29:09Speaker 6: being super effective. So, we also passed the ball quite
- 29:12Speaker 6: a bit.
- 29:12Speaker 3: And Maryland, obviously, running tempo. And we showed a lot
- 29:16Speaker 3: of tempo as well, which we have in the past.
- 29:18Speaker 4: We have this year. Like, we've done that. Yeah, it
- 29:23Speaker 4: just– it was like, oh, my God. That first half
- 29:26Speaker 4: was eternal.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, no, it– Yeah. It took forever. Yeah, no,
- 29:30Speaker 1: they– which we knew is coming in the game. Maryland
- 29:32Speaker 1: does not have a running game at all. Like, I mean, they,
- 29:36Speaker 1: I guess they ended up 25, which it did not
- 29:38Speaker 1: feel like there's ever really against that's 25. stats, 25
- 29:40Speaker 1: rushes for 141 yards.
- 29:42Speaker 4: I mean, that's, did you watch the game or did
- 29:44Speaker 4: you just, are you looking at the stats?
- 29:46Speaker 1: No, right now I'm looking, really looking at the stats.
- 29:48Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 29:49Speaker 3: I mean, I, the, the, the narrative and I, I mean,
- 29:51Speaker 3: watching the game, Maryland's run game was a lot better than,
- 29:55Speaker 3: than I think what probably we expected. It, But the
- 29:59Speaker 3: biggest thing that I thought too, they got around the
- 30:02Speaker 3: edge a couple of times that was like, yeah.
- 30:05Speaker 4: And they, you know, they got, they got some athletes.
- 30:07Speaker 4: Like they, they got a couple of guys that are fast. Like, yeah.
- 30:10Speaker 5: Well, they have that one guy who was averaging.
- 30:12Speaker 6: It was like something like ridiculous, like 70 yards of
- 30:15Speaker 6: carry for the season. Who missed the last game and
- 30:17Speaker 6: a half or something. And he did have a 60
- 30:19Speaker 6: yard carry. Yeah.
- 30:21Speaker 4: I mean, that guy looked, I don't know. I was like,
- 30:23Speaker 4: you know, he hadn't played. I was like, Oh gosh.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Like there's our other run game was pretty solid. And
- 30:27Speaker 3: I think it, Coaching staff said that too in their
- 30:30Speaker 3: press conference. They were like, oh, this is okay. And
- 30:35Speaker 3: they were effective out of it.
- 30:37Speaker 4: At times.
- 30:38Speaker 5: In the first half.
- 30:39Speaker 6: And then second half, they couldn't do anything.
- 30:42Speaker 3: So, yeah, I mean, we're going to switch here to defense.
- 30:45Speaker 3: And here's my initial question for you guys. What's the
- 30:51Speaker 3: temp room on Rob Arch right now? I mean, the
- 30:54Speaker 3: defense in general.
- 30:55Speaker 5: I think it's solid.
- 31:00Speaker 1: I think we've looked pretty good defensively these first five games. Again,
- 31:05Speaker 1: that first quarter, but I think the whole team struggled.
- 31:07Speaker 1: But I was pretty impressed with how we rebounded and
- 31:11Speaker 1: kind of shut them down the rest of the game.
- 31:14Speaker 6: I think our adjustments have been really good this year.
- 31:16Speaker 6: I've been unimpressed with how we came out. I feel
- 31:19Speaker 6: like our initial game plan hasn't wowed me. We haven't
- 31:24Speaker 6: come out and looked great right off the bat, but
- 31:26Speaker 6: then halfway through the second quarter, it's like, okay, I
- 31:28Speaker 6: think we kind of know what's going on. So as
- 31:32Speaker 6: long as we can withstand the first quarter, it feels
- 31:35Speaker 6: like we can make it through a game.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Yeah, this is the one area for me, big area,
- 31:45Speaker 3: that is a little bit unproven still, and it's a
- 31:50Speaker 3: little scary. I think our offense has proven, and we
- 31:55Speaker 3: mentioned who we played, and we're getting into two underdog
- 31:59Speaker 3: teams here coming up, right? And we're 5-0, so it's great.
- 32:02Speaker 3: The defense is the one area that if I thought
- 32:07Speaker 3: maybe this game, and it did a little bit in
- 32:08Speaker 3: the first half, I was like, ugh. If some team,
- 32:12Speaker 3: can they just go off and put up 45 on us?
- 32:17Speaker 5: Anybody.
- 32:17Speaker 4: I mean, Indiana coming up.
- 32:20Speaker 3: But to me, it's a little still unproven. And I
- 32:23Speaker 3: wouldn't be surprised if one of these next two games,
- 32:26Speaker 3: our defense doesn't look great. Now, I hope it doesn't.
- 32:31Speaker 4: And I don't.
- 32:33Speaker 3: Think it will, but I just, I wouldn't be shocked.
- 32:35Speaker 3: I wouldn't, I wouldn't come in on next Monday and
- 32:38Speaker 3: be like, what the hell happened to our defense? Like, I,
- 32:41Speaker 3: I think it's just unproven to me so far. I just,
- 32:46Speaker 3: I think there's a lot of good things and I'm
- 32:47Speaker 3: with the Austin a hundred percent. The adjustments have been
- 32:51Speaker 3: really good so far, which is good to see. Cause
- 32:53Speaker 3: we haven't had that a lot. You would like to
- 32:57Speaker 3: not have to make adjustments. If your game plan going
- 32:59Speaker 3: into the game is solid and you have prepared for
- 33:02Speaker 3: four things that maybe you aren't expecting to see and aren't.
- 33:06Speaker 4: Caught off guard by some things. But like, I just, I'm,
- 33:09Speaker 4: I'm right now. It's like, okay. It's been to agree
- 33:12Speaker 4: with that solid. Like it's been, it's been good.
- 33:16Speaker 3: And we've had some decent things, but it's the one
- 33:19Speaker 3: part I'm like, okay, let's, let's see when we need
- 33:23Speaker 3: to get off the field on third down, which we
- 33:25Speaker 3: did and made Maryland about every time this game, which
- 33:27Speaker 3: was great against Indiana on a.
- 33:30Speaker 4: Big stop and a big possession. you know, what, what are,
- 33:35Speaker 4: what are we doing?
- 33:36Speaker 3: I'm just, I'm curious. Like, I think the Michigan state
- 33:38Speaker 3: offense fits well into like, I don't, I don't want
- 33:45Speaker 3: to call either of these teams one dimensional, but I
- 33:47Speaker 3: feel like you can, you kind of are able to
- 33:52Speaker 3: take away what they're good at. And once you do that,
- 33:54Speaker 3: you're forcing the other team to be uncomfortable. And then
- 33:57Speaker 3: when they're uncomfortable, you can make some plays and, you
- 34:01Speaker 3: force them into stuff that they're not used to. I
- 34:03Speaker 3: feel like that's what we've done the first five games.
- 34:05Speaker 3: Indiana's going to be very balanced. I'm going to be
- 34:09Speaker 3: good at a lot of different things on the offensive side.
- 34:13Speaker 3: So what's our, what's our strategy. What's our game plan
- 34:16Speaker 3: going into that?
- 34:17Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 34:18Speaker 3: But again, for this game alone, second half, obviously you
- 34:22Speaker 3: can't get much better than that. The way, the way
- 34:24Speaker 3: we played and a lot of that's complimentary to our
- 34:26Speaker 3: offense on how we controlled the clock.
- 34:29Speaker 4: In the game. And that's, that's the script. That's the identity.
- 34:31Speaker 4: That's where we're at. So I thought overall, yeah, that's
- 34:38Speaker 4: how I'm feeling.
- 34:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 34:39Speaker 1: We haven't, we haven't really played. I mean, a North Dakota,
- 34:43Speaker 1: I guess we kind of, we have not played a,
- 34:46Speaker 1: like a super good offense. I would say so far start, which,
- 34:49Speaker 1: which now I guess is, this will be proven against
- 34:52Speaker 1: Indiana here. Like they, they will be the best offense
- 34:54Speaker 1: we have played. So yeah, that's, I'm not, I'm not
- 34:59Speaker 1: going into the game like being super worried about defense.
- 35:03Speaker 1: I think I've signed up to say we have a good,
- 35:06Speaker 1: solid defense.
- 35:11Speaker 5: I don't feel good.
- 35:13Speaker 4: Last topic here I want to touch on real quick.
- 35:16Speaker 4: Special teams. Again, temperature, feel, grade, whatever you want to
- 35:22Speaker 4: call it for the game. What do we think?
- 35:26Speaker 5: I'd say it was a B-plus. Nothing detrimental, and we
- 35:31Speaker 5: had a blocked punt. Should have had two blocked punts.
- 35:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm just going to say we had two blocked
- 35:36Speaker 1: punts because that guy blocked it, but whatever. Yeah, I'd
- 35:43Speaker 1: go B2. Like, just good. Nothing really to complain about there.
- 35:47Speaker 5: Missed an extra point. Missed another field goal, 50-plus. Those
- 35:51Speaker 5: don't feel good, but they weren't killers.
- 35:53Speaker 3: Yeah, gave up a decent kickoff return this game for
- 35:57Speaker 3: the first one that we've kind of seen.
- 35:58Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 36:01Speaker 4: It's weird. I don't know.
- 36:02Speaker 3: I just, another one that I'm like not sold on yet,
- 36:05Speaker 3: but again, special teams, if you don't have catastrophic things, right.
- 36:10Speaker 4: And I will say that the field goal.
- 36:14Speaker 3: In college, if you get 50 plus, they're, they're nice
- 36:18Speaker 3: to have. I'm not expecting those to go in and
- 36:22Speaker 3: not where we're at as a program. If we get
- 36:24Speaker 3: to be a top 10 team consistently, I want every
- 36:27Speaker 3: 50 yard field goal to go in because we should
- 36:29Speaker 3: be getting a kicker that can do that. Um, right now,
- 36:32Speaker 3: like if you're, if you're inside 50, better be making them. Um,
- 36:37Speaker 3: that's like my head on field goals in, in, in,
- 36:39Speaker 3: in college for kickers and where we're at.
- 36:43Speaker 4: Like that.
- 36:44Speaker 5: So yeah, a hundred percent agree.
- 36:45Speaker 3: Like I will say like, yes, we want to make that.
- 36:48Speaker 4: We want to make that sucker. Now I missed extra point.
- 36:50Speaker 4: I don't know. Like, that's not good. I don't know
- 36:52Speaker 4: what happened there.
- 36:54Speaker 3: Someone mentioned the holds were not great, um, on both
- 36:57Speaker 3: of those kicks.
- 36:58Speaker 4: I don't know. So get that stuff fixed.
- 37:01Speaker 3: Another place that I'm not sold on. I'm not jumping
- 37:05Speaker 3: for joy on. Our special teams are great. They weren't
- 37:08Speaker 3: like last year. We felt pretty damn good about it. Again,
- 37:13Speaker 3: can't get exploited on that moving forward. If you can
- 37:16Speaker 3: make plays, if you can make a 50-yard field goal
- 37:18Speaker 3: in a game like Saturday, it's going to be big
- 37:21Speaker 3: for helping you win that game. We'll talk about Indiana
- 37:25Speaker 3: more this week.
- 37:26Speaker 4: It's a huge week. I'm pumped. We've got a lot
- 37:29Speaker 4: to talk about.
- 37:29Speaker 3: I think Again, all these things we've said, there's reason
- 37:35Speaker 3: to be optimistic, and there's also that part of you
- 37:39Speaker 3: that may not be surprised if a game goes a
- 37:40Speaker 3: certain way, too.
- 37:43Speaker 4: It'll be interesting how Saturday goes.
- 37:46Speaker 1: I'll tell you one thing when we're diving into Indiana
- 37:48Speaker 1: later this week, but that first half team, Nebraska, will
- 37:51Speaker 1: get slaughtered by Indiana. That second half team Nebraska put
- 37:53Speaker 1: out there could beat Indiana. So hopefully it's the second
- 37:59Speaker 1: half team that comes out.
- 38:02Speaker 5: We'll see.
- 38:03Speaker 3: And then, Zach, I think what you just said goes
- 38:06Speaker 3: to Austin's previous comments about a four-quarter game. And not
- 38:13Speaker 3: everything's going to be perfect, right? You're not going to
- 38:16Speaker 3: probably put together every possession to be exactly how you
- 38:18Speaker 3: want it to go.
- 38:19Speaker 4: But having a lapse in a half ain't going to
- 38:24Speaker 4: get it done against really good teams. So, yeah, we'll see.
- 38:31Speaker 4: We'll see what we are.
- 38:32Speaker 3: Here, good show today. We have kind of our standard
- 38:37Speaker 3: schedule this week. I'll be doing a solo episode tomorrow.
- 38:42Speaker 3: Dak will be Wednesday. And then there's going to be
- 38:46Speaker 3: a lot of Indiana talk this week.
- 38:47Speaker 4: I think biggest game in a long time. Big noon
- 38:51Speaker 4: coming to town.
- 38:53Speaker 1: I'm just going to call this week Prove It Week.
- 38:56Speaker 5: You'd like to see Gus Johnson call a Husker win.
- 38:59Speaker 1: Yeah, well, that's... Yeah, I don't know if you guys
- 39:03Speaker 1: saw those stats on when he calls games. Not good.
- 39:07Speaker 5: I was sick when they announced big new kickoff. I
- 39:09Speaker 5: was like, ugh. I just hate it so much.
- 39:12Speaker 1: Again, screw you, Fox, for making 11 a.m. your big game.
- 39:15Speaker 1: That's something I'll dive into on Wednesday.
- 39:17Speaker 5: Screw you.
- 39:19Speaker 4: Guys, I'm fired up, bro. I'm fired up.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Fired up. I can't wait for Saturday. It's going to
- 39:25Speaker 1: be awesome.
- 39:27Speaker 5: Maybe.
- 39:29Speaker 1: It could not be awesome coming in the first quarter,
- 39:31Speaker 1: but we'll see.
- 39:33Speaker 4: All righty.
- 39:34Speaker 1: 5-0.
- 39:34Speaker 4: Go Big Red. Go Big Red.
- 39:39Speaker 1: The headlines change.
- 39:40Speaker 5: But the mission stays.

- 40:18Speaker 2: Believing Because the Return to Glory is just beginning.
- 40:23Speaker 3: Go Big Red!
