- 0:00Speaker 1: That was going on. It's Romeo. What do we get
- 0:01Speaker 1: into today? We talked with Michael Bean from the Marriage
- 0:04Speaker 1: of Family Center. What are our listeners? Oh, he's on vacation.
- 0:07Speaker 1: We talked a little bit about that, and then what
- 0:09Speaker 1: pet peeves? What drives you crazy? Nowadays? Let's get going
- 0:12Speaker 1: all right, let's talk a little bit about girls' night
- 0:14Speaker 1: out versus guys' night out. Now here's the deal. It's
- 0:18Speaker 1: funny how girls they always say, and we've had long
- 0:20Speaker 1: conversations about this. Women will talk about being married and
- 0:25Speaker 1: they need their they want to spend time with their friends,
- 0:27Speaker 1: but a lot of times their friends are single, and
- 0:29Speaker 1: so girls' night out always turns into girls hanging out
- 0:34Speaker 1: at some sort of singles bar or some sort of
- 0:37Speaker 1: single situation. And you wonder why your husband's worried about it. Right,
- 0:42Speaker 1: So that being said, do guys do the same thing?
- 0:50Speaker 1: When guys go out? Do they always end up at
- 0:53Speaker 1: some singles bar? Do they always end up in some
- 0:56Speaker 1: single situation? Is there a difference between girls' night and
- 1:00Speaker 1: guys' night? I don't know, a four two four or
- 1:05Speaker 1: seven to seven. Maybe you expect it out of guys,
- 1:11Speaker 1: Maybe you maybe guys don't always Maybe guys go out
- 1:15Speaker 1: with a plant, you know, when guys get together, maybe
- 1:18Speaker 1: they do it in like a situation that is an
- 1:22Speaker 1: event like guys go trap shooting, clay shooting, or maybe
- 1:26Speaker 1: they go play golf or maybe they're but it doesn't
- 1:29Speaker 1: end up in a single situation. I don't know. But
- 1:33Speaker 1: for some reason, girls night always ends up. I want
- 1:35Speaker 1: to just talk to my friends because I haven't seen
- 1:37Speaker 1: them so so so for a long time. Well why
- 1:41Speaker 1: do you always have to talk to them to the
- 1:42Speaker 1: place you can get hit on? So I'm curious. Is
- 1:45Speaker 1: guys night just poker? I don't know, is one different
- 1:50Speaker 1: than the other? Already four two, five, four or seven
- 1:53Speaker 1: to seven? So when it comes to girls' night versus
- 1:56Speaker 1: guys' night out right, it's funny to me that it
- 2:01Speaker 1: always seems like when girls go out together, they always
- 2:04Speaker 1: say the same thing, we just want to talk and
- 2:06Speaker 1: catch up, and then for some reason they always end
- 2:10Speaker 1: up at some sort of bar or some sort of
- 2:13Speaker 1: pickup joint. And when guys do, guys do the same thing.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Is there a difference between girls' night and Guys' night out? Already?
- 2:22Speaker 1: Four two, five, four, seven and seven God and hell,
- 2:24Speaker 1: it's going on, Romeo.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Let me tell you the difference between girl's day and
- 2:28Speaker 2: guy's date.
- 2:29Speaker 1: What's up?
- 2:30Speaker 3: All right there?
- 2:32Speaker 4: Guy's day, we don't get one and the girls get
- 2:34Speaker 4: go wherever they want to go.
- 2:37Speaker 1: All right, all right, it's not right.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Because my girl gets to go out with her.
- 2:41Speaker 4: She got the sister's day, a best friends take, and
- 2:44Speaker 4: then she got just a random date night that she
- 2:47Speaker 4: goes out with the friends.
- 2:48Speaker 1: All Right, man, get it all right.
- 2:50Speaker 4: If I do something, I'm up to something.
- 2:52Speaker 1: But her, oh you're oh, you're just what's that word?
- 2:56Speaker 1: Here's your trip in?
- 2:57Speaker 3: You know you? You gotta be more? TRUSTFU want to
- 3:01Speaker 3: do it?
- 3:02Speaker 4: No, we're up to something. We're teaking.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Why are we out?
- 3:04Speaker 4: Why can't we spend time with her all the listening?
- 3:09Speaker 2: We need some broad days out there.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Get out of here, hit me up and your bro.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Dat is when you end up in jail after going
- 3:16Speaker 1: to a raider game. Get out of here.
- 3:17Speaker 4: I ain't trying to drink no prono and have the
- 3:19Speaker 4: run for a.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Week from you.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Alrighty four to seven seven? Like I said, is there
- 3:23Speaker 1: a difference between girls night out and guys night out?
- 3:28Speaker 1: I tend to believe there is. I think guys for
- 3:32Speaker 1: the most part, For the most part, I think when
- 3:35Speaker 1: guys get together, they're they do it with a something
- 3:41Speaker 1: in mind, like I don't know. They don't do it
- 3:44Speaker 1: with ending up at a They don't do it with
- 3:46Speaker 1: the plan of ending up in a singles bar or
- 3:49Speaker 1: a singles joint, or getting hit on or hitting on others.
- 3:52Speaker 1: I think that. But for some reason, women can start
- 3:57Speaker 1: out at bunko at somebody's house and then end up
- 3:59Speaker 1: with club. So talking about guys night versus girls night, right,
- 4:04Speaker 1: do you guys even have a night out? What's the difference? Already?
- 4:07Speaker 1: Four twenty five four seven to seven year rom It's
- 4:10Speaker 1: funny that you're talking about this because I hang out
- 4:13Speaker 1: with mostly my brother, a couple of my cousins. I
- 4:16Speaker 1: have a couple of friends, but when we get together,
- 4:20Speaker 1: it's just somebody stopping by the house, or not all
- 4:23Speaker 1: at once, just a couple of guys stopping by the house.
- 4:27Speaker 1: We sit, hang out around the house, hang out around
- 4:29Speaker 1: the backyard, drink some beer. My wife told me last
- 4:34Speaker 1: weekend she was going out to dinner with some friends
- 4:39Speaker 1: of hers, And have you heard of this place called Ritmo? Yeah,
- 4:43Speaker 1: I've been to Ritmo. It's a nice little spot. It
- 4:46Speaker 1: turns into a club as the evening goes on.
- 4:50Speaker 5: Well, I mean, I don't know, I don't I don't.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Know that it turns into a club. But they gotta
- 5:05Speaker 1: They got a DJ and a nice little groove going
- 5:08Speaker 1: later on in the evening, as the night gets later,
- 5:13Speaker 1: I thought they were just going out to a restaurant
- 5:15Speaker 1: for dinner. It turns out she was hanging out. Yeah.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Like I said, girls' night always seems to turn in
- 5:30Speaker 1: turn into a club. They always start one place, end
- 5:35Speaker 1: up somewhere else. Always say they just want to hang
- 5:38Speaker 1: out and talk and catch up, but yet they always
- 5:41Speaker 1: end up somewhere where somebody wants to buy them drinks.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Why is that? It's the difference between girls night and
- 5:47Speaker 1: guys night. Girls night seems to be they always tell you, hey,
- 5:52Speaker 1: we gotta get together, we want to catch up, and
- 5:53Speaker 1: then they always end up in a single spot right
- 5:56Speaker 1: already four two five four or seven to seven yo, roam.
- 6:00Speaker 1: It's uh, It's crazy. They women use the excuse that
- 6:03Speaker 1: they want to catch up when they text all day,
- 6:05Speaker 1: snap Instagram. How much more do they need to catch up?
- 6:09Speaker 1: Sorting out what's going on what's up? You know?
- 6:14Speaker 3: I find that crazy that people settle down together and
- 6:17Speaker 3: they one of their biggest complaints is that they still
- 6:19Speaker 3: got to go and hang out with their friends.
- 6:20Speaker 1: And catch up on stuff.
- 6:22Speaker 6: You know.
- 6:22Speaker 3: I thought you catch up together at a couple of
- 6:24Speaker 3: once you marry and all that.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't understand that much either, but I have
- 6:29Speaker 1: people are weird.
- 6:30Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 6:31Speaker 1: I don't know what it is. I think a lot of.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Times, like these ladies that want to go out, and
- 6:35Speaker 3: they want to go out with their friends, and then
- 6:37Speaker 3: you know, obviously they want to go like mingle with
- 6:39Speaker 3: other men. That's when I think because the man ain't
- 6:41Speaker 3: doing his part room.
- 6:43Speaker 1: I mean, no, I don't think it's that. I don't
- 6:45Speaker 1: think it's that, but.
- 6:46Speaker 3: I think it because I don't know. I just I
- 6:48Speaker 3: guess I may related. I keep my girl, you know,
- 6:50Speaker 3: always with me, and we always doing things together. Gee,
- 6:52Speaker 3: she wants to go? I agree, you know, they let go.
- 6:55Speaker 3: They like, hey, I'm gonna call my friend, you know.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:57Speaker 3: So no, No, I just I feel the more work
- 7:00Speaker 3: I put it at home, I take care of my family,
- 7:02Speaker 3: the more time we're gonna fend together.
- 7:04Speaker 1: A got ya Ruben does make a good point although
- 7:11Speaker 1: in four two five four seven seven. I think it's
- 7:14Speaker 1: human nature right at a certain point. And I don't know.
- 7:19Speaker 1: You guys can tell me if if women need it
- 7:21Speaker 1: more than men. But I think at a certain point,
- 7:25Speaker 1: women need to be hit on by somebody other than
- 7:28Speaker 1: the man that wants them, because they already know that
- 7:31Speaker 1: dude wants them, right like women know their husband already
- 7:35Speaker 1: want them. But I think they need to feel wanted
- 7:39Speaker 1: by other men to make them feel for their self esteem. Right.
- 7:44Speaker 1: So maybe that's why girls night turns into a singles
- 7:47Speaker 1: joint and guys just get together to talk about you know,
- 7:52Speaker 1: whatever they talk about already? Four two five four is
- 7:57Speaker 1: seven to seven. It's talking about girls night versus guys die, right,
- 8:00Speaker 1: what's the difference? Good morning? How what's going on?
- 8:04Speaker 2: Yo?
- 8:04Speaker 6: Rome what's up?
- 8:05Speaker 3: No?
- 8:05Speaker 1: No man? Not much?
- 8:07Speaker 2: When if women is out here going and looking for
- 8:11Speaker 2: attention from other dues because they feel like they need
- 8:14Speaker 2: to know that some other dude on them at keeping Romeo,
- 8:18Speaker 2: if you want here entertaining attention from another man, you're
- 8:22Speaker 2: doing wrong. I ain't no way, Romeo. Man taking excuse.
- 8:29Speaker 7: From your man should meet up because if your man.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Or if a woman's man was out in some females
- 8:35Speaker 2: stay all night in the club letting her buy his drinks,
- 8:39Speaker 2: she would be highly upset.
- 8:41Speaker 1: I don't Here's the thing. I agree with the with
- 8:46Speaker 1: the doing wrong part about it right, But I might
- 8:51Speaker 1: argue that women understand a lot more if you're getting
- 8:57Speaker 1: a hit on as a man, if you were a
- 8:59Speaker 1: husband and if somebody was hitting on you, I think
- 9:02Speaker 1: they would be more understanding of it than vice versa,
- 9:07Speaker 1: because I think they know what they what they like,
- 9:11Speaker 1: and I just I'm not saying they're gonna say it's right,
- 9:13Speaker 1: and I'm not saying they're not gonna get mad about
- 9:16Speaker 1: what I'm saying is in the back of their mind.
- 9:18Speaker 1: I think they're more understanding about it.
- 9:21Speaker 2: What robio, You ever seen a man get hit by
- 9:25Speaker 2: a woman in front of his woman?
- 9:27Speaker 1: Come out? But they do. But I think it's more
- 9:32Speaker 1: of a reaction than what they really believe. It's more
- 9:37Speaker 1: of a performance than it is what they really believe.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Wow, So do you think it makes them feel good?
- 9:42Speaker 2: You know that they feel got it?
- 9:44Speaker 1: Oh? Absolutely? I think that. I think that's absolutely true.
- 9:47Speaker 1: I think they I think there it works both ways.
- 9:51Speaker 1: I think they know that they want to be hit
- 9:53Speaker 1: on to feel better by another person. So when they
- 9:55Speaker 1: see an habit of their man, and like you said,
- 9:58Speaker 1: they have to react that way. And they know their
- 10:00Speaker 1: man's hot, and they know that they like it when
- 10:03Speaker 1: somebody hits on them. So I think they just react
- 10:05Speaker 1: because they have to.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Oh okay, So I think the problem we're doing. Rome
- 10:10Speaker 2: comes in and even though that other person's getting a picture.
- 10:13Speaker 3: It gets valid dat pitch. Then you're doing wrong.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Okay, all right. Last night we were at or yesterday,
- 10:20Speaker 1: not last night, but yesterday, we were over a just
- 10:23Speaker 1: a Get Faded barber and Beauty college over there at
- 10:26Speaker 1: twenty five hundred Newsteon Road, and we were doing free
- 10:28Speaker 1: haircuts for kids. First ninety four kids got free haircuts,
- 10:32Speaker 1: getting you ready for school. Also, Just Faded gave out backpacks.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Every kid that went down and got a haircut got
- 10:40Speaker 1: a free haircut, got a free backpacker as well. So
- 10:42Speaker 1: we're talking a little bit about like that, and there's
- 10:44Speaker 1: these little bugs flying around and I had never seen
- 10:48Speaker 1: them before, but they're called june bugs. A room. They're
- 10:52Speaker 1: called june bugs green ones like yes kites. Oh yeah,
- 10:56Speaker 1: and they were telling them that they used to fly
- 10:58Speaker 1: them like kites. There were beatles. A little kid caught one.
- 11:01Speaker 3: It was crazy.
- 11:02Speaker 1: A little guy could have been more than I don't
- 11:03Speaker 1: know on maybe four five, I don't know, but he
- 11:06Speaker 1: caught one. It was crazy. But anyway, it was a
- 11:10Speaker 1: good time. We had fun out there. We had some ice,
- 11:12Speaker 1: we had some pop skulls, we had some water, we
- 11:15Speaker 1: had some We didn't eat though, well I think we didn't.
- 11:18Speaker 1: News he didn't eat out there, didn't that breakfast. But
- 11:20Speaker 1: it was a great time. I want to thank everybody
- 11:22Speaker 1: for coming out and of course Almond mic over there
- 11:25Speaker 1: who own Get Faded or amazing people, and they really
- 11:29Speaker 1: hooked it up for you guys. So we'll do it again.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Hopefully we'll do some more stuff with them. Get Faded
- 11:35Speaker 1: Barber and Beauty College they do what do they do?
- 11:38Speaker 1: They do? Esthetician, nail tech, barber and beauty. Yeah, go
- 11:42Speaker 1: check them out twenty five hundred news side. And the backpacks,
- 11:46Speaker 1: that's the other thing I want to talk about. The backpacks.
- 11:48Speaker 1: A Janz Sport backpack seventy five bucks and why wouldn't
- 11:54Speaker 1: you just go get a free one? Aeron, don't forget
- 11:57Speaker 1: to let people know Happy Recovery, your low cost Tone
- 12:00Speaker 1: and Recovery service, donated a lot of the backpack. Okay,
- 12:03Speaker 1: Happy Recovery. I could never remember his name. Yeah, he's
- 12:07Speaker 1: a great guy too. Somebody texted, I'm reading some of
- 12:11Speaker 1: the text messages from yesterday since I wasn't in the studio.
- 12:14Speaker 1: That was not a long wait. Hey, Rome, Alma gave
- 12:17Speaker 1: my son a chance, and now he's making good money.
- 12:21Speaker 1: I was see, and that's what I was. That was
- 12:23Speaker 1: the other thing I was wondering when we started. Look
- 12:26Speaker 1: at how much people pay for nails, to get their
- 12:28Speaker 1: nails done, or to get esthetician work on their skin,
- 12:30Speaker 1: or to get or to just get a haircut. You
- 12:33Speaker 1: can make some real money coming into that profession.
- 12:36Speaker 6: Rome.
- 12:37Speaker 1: The kids are all mad because they wake up late
- 12:39Speaker 1: for summer break and have to wake up early to
- 12:41Speaker 1: get a haircut. Well, god, dude, you gotta do right.
- 12:45Speaker 1: A free haircut and a free backpack saves you like
- 12:48Speaker 1: a hundred bucks or probably between what fifty to a
- 12:52Speaker 1: hundred I don't know. Yesterday, a buddy of mine, he
- 12:54Speaker 1: came over to help me fix something that was wrong
- 12:57Speaker 1: with refrigerator. Right, and so, uh, he's pretty and so
- 13:01Speaker 1: he goes to pull up YouTube. He goes, oh, well,
- 13:03Speaker 1: let's see what this is. And he pulls up YouTube
- 13:05Speaker 1: on his phone and I went, whoa, wha, wha, wha what. No,
- 13:06Speaker 1: So let's go over to my computer my office. So
- 13:09Speaker 1: we go to the office and I pull up YouTube
- 13:13Speaker 1: on my computer screen and I'm watching it. We're watching it,
- 13:16Speaker 1: and he goes, why we were watching the same video.
- 13:19Speaker 1: He goes, why didn't we just watch it on my
- 13:20Speaker 1: phone over where where we're working? And I said, because
- 13:25Speaker 1: I can't watch YouTube on a phone. He goes, what
- 13:29Speaker 1: do you mean you can't watch YouTube on the phone.
- 13:31Speaker 1: I go, I don't know. For Sumer, it's the same
- 13:32Speaker 1: way with the television. You know, I got a big
- 13:34Speaker 1: screen TV. I got you the YouTube app on my television.
- 13:39Speaker 1: But when I go to watch videos, for some reason,
- 13:43Speaker 1: I can only watch him on my computer screen. And
- 13:49Speaker 1: he's looking at me like I'm crazy, and am I crazy?
- 13:53Speaker 1: Because I can only do it because that's all I
- 13:57Speaker 1: can't watch it. I've tried to watch something on YouTube
- 14:00Speaker 1: television on my TV. It's not the same. For some reason,
- 14:04Speaker 1: whatever I'm seeing when I watch YouTube on my monitor
- 14:11Speaker 1: looks worse. If I watch it on my TV or
- 14:15Speaker 1: a phone or whatever the case. It's so weird. He
- 14:19Speaker 1: even goes, I can't watch it on iPad. I don't
- 14:23Speaker 1: know why. I don't know what is wrong with me,
- 14:25Speaker 1: or if there is anything wrong with me already four
- 14:28Speaker 1: two five, four or seven does seven? I mean, if
- 14:31Speaker 1: you guys ever done? Is there anything like that that
- 14:33Speaker 1: you can't you can only do it one way? Funny? Uh,
- 14:38Speaker 1: I'm so dumb already four two five, four seven seven Romeo.
- 14:43Speaker 1: What is the difference whether you watch YouTube on a
- 14:45Speaker 1: TV screen or a monitor? It's the same thing, right,
- 14:48Speaker 1: I don't understand. You are kind of weird for saying that.
- 14:51Speaker 1: I can maybe understand not watching it on a phone
- 14:54Speaker 1: or an iPad because the screens are smaller. But look,
- 14:59Speaker 1: I don't know why I only watch YouTube on a
- 15:03Speaker 1: TV screen. I mean on my commuter monitor. I won't
- 15:06Speaker 1: watch I can't watch it anywhere else, even with a
- 15:09Speaker 1: big seventy inch flat screen TV on the wall with
- 15:12Speaker 1: a YouTube app. I tried to watch YouTube. I couldn't
- 15:15Speaker 1: do it. I just I don't know what it is.
- 15:17Speaker 1: I don't know what's going on. There's something in my
- 15:20Speaker 1: head that does not allow me to watch YouTube. It's
- 15:25Speaker 1: like on any other surface other than the monitor my TV.
- 15:30Speaker 1: I guess because it's all to me. It's always been
- 15:32Speaker 1: just a computer thing, not a television thing. Even though
- 15:36Speaker 1: they got YouTube TV, I don't. I don't know. I
- 15:39Speaker 1: just I don't know. Already four two five, four or
- 15:43Speaker 1: seven to seven year old roam what movie is playing
- 15:45Speaker 1: after the backpack giveaway on Sunday? You know what they
- 15:49Speaker 1: didn't tell me. They did not tell me. I hope
- 15:53Speaker 1: it's Spider Man, but I don't know. That might be
- 15:55Speaker 1: too new. They didn't tell me. I don't know. So
- 15:57Speaker 1: the other day a buddy of mine came over. We
- 15:59Speaker 1: were fixing something in the fixing something on my fridge.
- 16:02Speaker 1: So he pulls out his phone to watch a YouTube video.
- 16:04Speaker 1: And I had to go watch the video on my
- 16:07Speaker 1: computer screen. And we could have watched it on my TV,
- 16:10Speaker 1: could have watched it on an iPad. For some reason,
- 16:13Speaker 1: I guess there's something weird in me that I can
- 16:15Speaker 1: only watch YouTube on my computer screen. I have no
- 16:18Speaker 1: idea why, no idea why. But it's not the same.
- 16:23Speaker 1: There's got to be, you know, It's just, you know what.
- 16:25Speaker 1: The other thing I do is I just remembered is
- 16:27Speaker 1: I have an air fryer, but I will not make
- 16:31Speaker 1: toast in my air fryer. I pull out a toaster.
- 16:35Speaker 1: I will not do it. I don't know. I guess
- 16:37Speaker 1: I don't know. It's weird, right, I don't know if
- 16:40Speaker 1: it's weird or not. I already four tbot four or
- 16:42Speaker 1: seven to seven roam at work. I only work hard
- 16:45Speaker 1: and fast. People hate that about me because the milk,
- 16:50Speaker 1: because they milk it and get ot. I just want
- 16:53Speaker 1: to get done and go home as soon as I can. Oh,
- 16:55Speaker 1: that's funny. That's pretty funny. Yeah, I don't know why.
- 16:59Speaker 1: I don't know why I do it. It's just but
- 17:02Speaker 1: the toasting is funny. I will not make toasting an
- 17:05Speaker 1: air fryer. I make it in a toaster. Just like
- 17:08Speaker 1: I will not use my phone as an alarm. I
- 17:12Speaker 1: have an actual alarm clock. Well, so I don't know
- 17:15Speaker 1: if I'm weird or not, and I don't. I can't
- 17:18Speaker 1: change it. There's this things you do. You've always done
- 17:21Speaker 1: it a certain way. But this YouTube, right, I watch YouTube,
- 17:23Speaker 1: and I watch I watch a lot of different YouTube videos,
- 17:26Speaker 1: but I will watch them only on my computer screen.
- 17:28Speaker 1: I will only sit at my desk in my office
- 17:31Speaker 1: and watch it on the computer, even though I got
- 17:33Speaker 1: it on I got it on my television. You could
- 17:36Speaker 1: watch them on an iPad, you can watch it on
- 17:38Speaker 1: an iPhone or a phone or whatever you want. But
- 17:40Speaker 1: for some reason, like if I want to watch YouTube
- 17:42Speaker 1: right now, sitting in the studio, I'll put it on
- 17:45Speaker 1: the computer screen. I won't watch it on my phone,
- 17:48Speaker 1: and I won't watch it on the TVs that are said,
- 17:50Speaker 1: the sixty inch TVs that are sitting here. And I
- 17:54Speaker 1: don't know why I can't do it. I just there's
- 17:56Speaker 1: something in me that won't allow me to watch YouTube
- 17:59Speaker 1: any other place than on a computer screen. And I
- 18:04Speaker 1: don't know if that's weird or not, but it is
- 18:07Speaker 1: what it is. You kind of get stuck in It's
- 18:09Speaker 1: not even stuck in your ways because YouTube still it's
- 18:12Speaker 1: just I guess because I've always watched it on a
- 18:15Speaker 1: computer screen that I don't know how to do it
- 18:18Speaker 1: any other way. I don't really know how to answer
- 18:21Speaker 1: the question on why thirty four two five four seven
- 18:25Speaker 1: seven yo Rome. Everybody in my house uses a pan
- 18:30Speaker 1: to warm up to teas not me. I throw it
- 18:33Speaker 1: straight on the grill. Top and flip it with my hand.
- 18:38Speaker 1: I can't do it any other way. For some reason,
- 18:41Speaker 1: when I eat a tortilla, it has to have that
- 18:42Speaker 1: little black marks on it. Yeah, I do that too.
- 18:45Speaker 1: I don't use a pan or whatever it's called, plancha.
- 18:49Speaker 1: What's it called. I don't know what it's called in Spanish,
- 18:53Speaker 1: but I don't use one either. I throw it right.
- 18:55Speaker 1: I just turn on the turn on the whatever it's called,
- 18:59Speaker 1: and throw it right on the right on top phone.
- 19:01Speaker 1: I was telling you guys earlier. A friend of mine
- 19:03Speaker 1: was making fun of me the other day because he
- 19:04Speaker 1: came to help me fix something my house, and he
- 19:06Speaker 1: pulled YouTube up on his phone and I told him
- 19:08Speaker 1: I couldn't watch it on the phone. I had to
- 19:09Speaker 1: watch it on my monitor, my computer monitor. He goes, well,
- 19:14Speaker 1: you can't watch it on TV or an iPad now,
- 19:17Speaker 1: For some reason, I did. For some reason, it doesn't
- 19:19Speaker 1: look right to me. I don't feel comfortable watching YouTube
- 19:21Speaker 1: on anything but a computer monitor, Like I'll turn it
- 19:24Speaker 1: on right now and watch something. If I want to
- 19:26Speaker 1: check something out and I have to watch it on
- 19:28Speaker 1: a monitor, I won't. I can't do it on my phone.
- 19:30Speaker 1: I don't know why. But there's a lot. There's other
- 19:34Speaker 1: things too that you can't do, like I still have
- 19:36Speaker 1: I have a toaster. We have an airfier at the house.
- 19:39Speaker 1: That's great for a lot of things, but I'm not
- 19:42Speaker 1: putting toast in it. I pull out a toaster. You know,
- 19:46Speaker 1: an arm clock. A lot of you guys use your
- 19:48Speaker 1: alarm clocks for your phones, for alarm clocks, I don't.
- 19:56Speaker 1: I have to use an alarm clock. You know what else?
- 20:01Speaker 1: I'm trying to think? What else silly things I do? Already?
- 20:04Speaker 1: Four two five, four or seven to seven? Do you
- 20:06Speaker 1: guys do anything like that? The guy with the tortilla.
- 20:09Speaker 1: I did the thing with the tortilla too. I can't
- 20:10Speaker 1: use a pan to heat up a tortilla. I gotta
- 20:13Speaker 1: just put it right on the whatever. I don't even
- 20:15Speaker 1: know what what's it called again, the burner. I just
- 20:17Speaker 1: put it right on the burner and flip with my hands.
- 20:22Speaker 1: What else? What else? What else? Are there things that
- 20:24Speaker 1: you do that for some reason, you can't do them differently,
- 20:28Speaker 1: even though there's other options or ways to do it.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Already four two five, four or seven to seven, yo, Romeo,
- 20:35Speaker 1: I can only drink beer out of a bottle. I
- 20:39Speaker 1: can't do cans. I know you're a Victoria guy. But
- 20:42Speaker 1: I know you're a Victoria guy, and I like Victoria too,
- 20:45Speaker 1: But I can only drink it out of the bottle
- 20:49Speaker 1: or a glass. But I can't drink the cans. For
- 20:52Speaker 1: some reason, I agree with you. There are some things.
- 20:56Speaker 1: I don't know. How you guys drink water out of
- 20:58Speaker 1: a can. I see that now, even some monster came
- 21:02Speaker 1: out with the water. I don't see how you drink
- 21:04Speaker 1: water out of a can. That's weird to me too.
- 21:06Speaker 1: But yeah, I can drink water out of a glass
- 21:10Speaker 1: or you know, water bottle. Yeah, it's interesting.
- 21:16Speaker 6: What's going on?
- 21:17Speaker 1: You angel?
- 21:18Speaker 6: What help? So they so they I'm almo a bit free,
- 21:23Speaker 6: so they gave me a year what not, you know.
- 21:26Speaker 6: But man, you know, when you're chopping it up and
- 21:28Speaker 6: on the way, they put the radio on a little
- 21:30Speaker 6: bit just.
- 21:30Speaker 7: Like a little all wrong. I know, but I'm obviously
- 21:35Speaker 7: well anyways wrong. So I'm gonna tell you a little,
- 21:38Speaker 7: a little gimmick. So I go to the you know,
- 21:40Speaker 7: to the infirm you a little high pressure kick in
- 21:43Speaker 7: rob and I'm a descried my one because oh my
- 21:47Speaker 7: lord Jesus I'm like, why would they put something like that?
- 21:50Speaker 7: She's like, start here, I have a pressure high. I
- 21:52Speaker 7: was like, I don't feel good.
- 21:54Speaker 6: Oh man, Romeo put it here.
- 21:56Speaker 7: You know I'm not gonna old. I'm not the old
- 21:58Speaker 7: Dinosaury might.
- 21:59Speaker 6: Yeah, I got a place man.
- 22:03Speaker 7: One more damn beach down to my boss, man, and
- 22:05Speaker 7: you know what I'm saying, I'll be out a couple
- 22:07Speaker 7: of months. Thanks you sever you've done wrong.
- 22:10Speaker 3: Man.
- 22:11Speaker 1: All right, Angel, a couple of months you said, a
- 22:14Speaker 1: couple of months, I'll be.
- 22:16Speaker 6: Down a gear. Little gear ain't none to me.
- 22:18Speaker 7: I'm I'm working out. I'm back.
- 22:19Speaker 6: I'm back to What was that?
- 22:22Speaker 7: I mean, what's that trainer you put you work out?
- 22:24Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 22:25Speaker 2: What's the name?
- 22:27Speaker 7: What's the trainer's name? Everybody again, trying everybody?
- 22:33Speaker 6: Movie man broke, y'all you see me?
- 22:35Speaker 1: Man, all right, we'll have to see you soon.
- 22:39Speaker 3: Well, a couple of months, maybe Christmas.
- 22:40Speaker 7: Well we may what I'm saying the way people going,
- 22:42Speaker 7: You know, I had a movie. You know, young bucks
- 22:45Speaker 7: think they're hard.
- 22:48Speaker 6: Yeah, all right, all right.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Man, Oh poor Angel, he got they got him on
- 22:57Speaker 1: a year. Huh, Well, a couple of months he'll be
- 22:59Speaker 1: out he'll get that, all right, what do you send me?
- 23:03Speaker 3: Here?
- 23:03Speaker 1: Hey, good one to Rome. It's Gil Rod here. I
- 23:05Speaker 1: just missed the conversation with Angel. I hate happened. Inquiring
- 23:10Speaker 1: minds one of Oh what happened? I have no idea
- 23:12Speaker 1: what happened. I don't getting nobody's Angel. I love Angel.
- 23:15Speaker 1: I love Angel to death, and I want to know
- 23:17Speaker 1: what happened. But I'm not going to get in this
- 23:19Speaker 1: business like that. He'll tell us when he's ready. He'll
- 23:21Speaker 1: tell us when he's ready. Alrighty fourteen five four seven
- 23:25Speaker 1: seven yr. Rome, you're taking calls from jail now, I said,
- 23:28Speaker 1: I've always taken calls from jail. I have never you
- 23:31Speaker 1: want to call me from jail. I'll talk to you
- 23:33Speaker 1: and see what's up right now, though, we got to
- 23:35Speaker 1: get Michael Bean. Michael Bean is here. Good morning, Michael, Well,
- 23:38Speaker 1: good morning. All right. Michael Bean is here from the
- 23:40Speaker 1: Marriage and Family Center h six three two seven fifty
- 23:44Speaker 1: one one hundred. Okay, Michael, everything's good, life's good. You ready.
- 23:51Speaker 4: It's a relationship Thursday. We can't we can't lose.
- 23:54Speaker 1: That's well. There are a lot of people losing their
- 24:00Speaker 1: relationships right now because they don't pay attention to what
- 24:02Speaker 1: the heck we talk about. You know what I'm saying, Well,
- 24:05Speaker 1: it is sad.
- 24:06Speaker 4: And I know earlier you were talking about trying to
- 24:08Speaker 4: change habits and that's turn in relationships too. So there's
- 24:11Speaker 4: a lot of people beating their head against the wall.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Well I was.
- 24:15Speaker 1: We were talking about that earlier. We were talking about
- 24:18Speaker 1: just some of the silly things we can't change, like
- 24:20Speaker 1: I still use it, Like I won't use my phone
- 24:22Speaker 1: as an alarm. I use it as a I have
- 24:25Speaker 1: an alarm clock. So that's a habit that I'll never change.
- 24:28Speaker 1: But you know, you have people nowadays, your spouses who
- 24:32Speaker 1: use their phone. What's what's that in the background, Michael,
- 24:35Speaker 1: something that you every time you move, something's kind of
- 24:37Speaker 1: rubbing against something or something.
- 24:39Speaker 4: Uh, that's funny. I was just scratching my head.
- 24:42Speaker 6: Oh but uh, so.
- 24:46Speaker 1: You have people now that sleep with phones, sleeping iPads,
- 24:50Speaker 1: things like that, which are can be disturbing to other people,
- 24:53Speaker 1: their spouses trying to sleep. But it's a change that everybody,
- 24:56Speaker 1: you know, it's a societal change. You use your phone
- 24:59Speaker 1: for everything, for alarms, for time, for everything, And as
- 25:06Speaker 1: silly as that sounds, it could be a problem or
- 25:10Speaker 1: a change that you have to accept when it comes
- 25:12Speaker 1: to moving forward in your relationship.
- 25:14Speaker 4: Right, yeah, yep, I sure can yep. And there's a
- 25:19Speaker 4: lot of thing. I mean, that's just one thing, but
- 25:22Speaker 4: there's so many things. And we've sort of been talking
- 25:27Speaker 4: all around this whole idea of how much you you
- 25:29Speaker 4: would be expected to change, how much did you kind
- 25:32Speaker 4: of keep things the same? And we have some conversations
- 25:35Speaker 4: to have today, we really do. We're going to be
- 25:37Speaker 4: We're going to be talking about some stuff.
- 25:39Speaker 1: One of the things I would like to ask you, Michael,
- 25:41Speaker 1: is if you had to guess, and I know you
- 25:44Speaker 1: don't like to do this, what percentage of couples have
- 25:50Speaker 1: problem major problems in their relationship because they don't expect
- 25:54Speaker 1: anything to change, as opposed to rolling with them, going hey,
- 25:57Speaker 1: things are going to change over the next twenty years
- 25:59Speaker 1: between us and you kind of roll with it and
- 26:02Speaker 1: hopefully the changers are for the better. And if you
- 26:05Speaker 1: work with each other, I think all the changes can
- 26:07Speaker 1: be for the better for the most part. But when
- 26:10Speaker 1: you're fighting it, that's where real problems come.
- 26:15Speaker 4: I think I think it feels to a partner that
- 26:19Speaker 4: that feels like, you know, the relationship is going away
- 26:22Speaker 4: or there's something bad happening to it. It feels to
- 26:25Speaker 4: them like something bad had, some bad change has happened.
- 26:30Speaker 4: You know, it used to be this way. We used
- 26:32Speaker 4: to go out and we used to connect, and now
- 26:35Speaker 4: we're just distant from each other. We hear that phrase
- 26:38Speaker 4: a lot of times, like we're we mates just we
- 26:42Speaker 4: just we sort of coexist, but we don't really connect.
- 26:46Speaker 4: And to that partner that feels that, it feels like
- 26:49Speaker 4: a change did happen that they didn't want. You know,
- 26:52Speaker 4: so I don't get so much of my partner won't change.
- 26:57Speaker 4: I get more my partner has changed or our relationship has.
- 27:01Speaker 1: So when you look at that, Michael and you go, okay,
- 27:04Speaker 1: I mean even you and I are relationship and having
- 27:07Speaker 1: conversation has changed over the years on the way, you know,
- 27:10Speaker 1: we talk about things, and you you go, if you
- 27:15Speaker 1: fight it, if you fight the change, you go, Michael's
- 27:18Speaker 1: always wrong, He's never you know what, I'm always right
- 27:20Speaker 1: about after over years, you go, wait a second, he
- 27:21Speaker 1: makes a good point, So maybe I need to reevaluate
- 27:24Speaker 1: my thought process on that. And then but if you
- 27:26Speaker 1: expect that in your relationship isn't that better as opposed
- 27:30Speaker 1: to going nope. You said you were going to do
- 27:32Speaker 1: this when we got together, so now you're going to
- 27:35Speaker 1: do this for the rest of your life and you going, well,
- 27:37Speaker 1: I don't know if that's necessarily real.
- 27:41Speaker 4: Yeah. I think we do better in anything when we
- 27:43Speaker 4: sort of try to keep our expectations below. You know,
- 27:48Speaker 4: it's like, I don't know what's going to happen, but
- 27:51Speaker 4: things are going to be different than I expected. And
- 27:54Speaker 4: if you kind of have that in your mind that
- 27:56Speaker 4: things are going to be okay, they're just going to
- 27:58Speaker 4: be different than I expected, I think we tend to
- 28:01Speaker 4: roll with things a little better.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Do you think most people do try to roll with things?
- 28:05Speaker 1: Or I mean, obviously you're a little biased because you
- 28:08Speaker 1: see different things than the whole world, you know, because
- 28:11Speaker 1: you don't see everybody. But do you think people try
- 28:15Speaker 1: to roll with it or do you have to teach them,
- 28:18Speaker 1: so to speak, how to roll with it?
- 28:20Speaker 4: It's a belcher. There are some people that just roll
- 28:25Speaker 4: with everything. I mean, you and I both know people
- 28:27Speaker 4: that nothing's faith Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, amazing thing
- 28:31Speaker 4: happened and we'd be like freaking out.
- 28:33Speaker 1: And they're like, yeah, other people.
- 28:36Speaker 4: Yeah, that are like, no, they should Yeah.
- 28:44Speaker 1: They're absolutely right. Michael Bean is here for the Marriage
- 28:48Speaker 1: of Family Center. You guys, hold on six six one,
- 28:51Speaker 1: three two, seven fifty one. We're going to talk to
- 28:53Speaker 1: him a little bit more. Michael Bean is here for
- 28:55Speaker 1: the Marriage of Family Center. Good morning, Michael, Good morning.
- 28:58Speaker 1: All right, six six one, that's the number we were
- 29:03Speaker 1: talking about change, Michael. People. Now that I'm sitting here
- 29:08Speaker 1: thinking about it a little more, I think that some
- 29:11Speaker 1: of the biggest problems people have in the relationship is
- 29:13Speaker 1: they believe their relationship is never gonna change. But all
- 29:19Speaker 1: change doesn't mean it's a bad thing. Hopefully, most of
- 29:24Speaker 1: the time you change for the better. You grow as
- 29:26Speaker 1: a person, as a couple, as a relationship. But that's
- 29:30Speaker 1: all change. And I just don't understand this. One partner
- 29:37Speaker 1: gets upset or one partner is looking at the other
- 29:40Speaker 1: partner and going, oh, you're changing this about you. We
- 29:44Speaker 1: were never going to do this. But if that person's
- 29:47Speaker 1: never changed for in a way to grow, then do
- 29:53Speaker 1: we need to stay together?
- 29:56Speaker 4: I mean, that's kind of a question, and so far
- 30:00Speaker 4: that's I feel like that's the position you've taking is
- 30:02Speaker 4: it's like, hey, you expect it. People change. You should
- 30:04Speaker 4: be okay, you shouldn't be so said in your ways
- 30:07Speaker 4: that you can't roll with things. But honestly, Romeo, we
- 30:10Speaker 4: make an agreement with and we fall in love with
- 30:13Speaker 4: a certain person, okay, and okay, things are going to change.
- 30:16Speaker 4: But how much does somebody change? You know, if somebody
- 30:20Speaker 4: becomes okay, they go from couch potato to workaholic, they're
- 30:25Speaker 4: not the same person anymore. Man, we used to just
- 30:27Speaker 4: hang out watch TV, you know, just kick it. And
- 30:31Speaker 4: you're not doing that anymore. You never kick it anymore.
- 30:33Speaker 4: You're either working or sleeping. And that is a different
- 30:37Speaker 4: person than I've made an agreement with. So over time,
- 30:41Speaker 4: as people do change, I don't know. I don't think
- 30:45Speaker 4: it's just as given that we just change along with
- 30:47Speaker 4: them or just go along with the change. I think
- 30:50Speaker 4: sometimes we have to take stock and say, is this
- 30:52Speaker 4: still what I want?
- 30:53Speaker 1: Well, now this is where I got to ask you
- 30:55Speaker 1: this question, though, Michael, and exactly what you just said.
- 30:59Speaker 1: How much change are we exposed are we supposed to accept?
- 31:05Speaker 1: Before you go, well, wait a second, this is not
- 31:07Speaker 1: the best relationship. This is not because a lot of
- 31:10Speaker 1: people will say you're supposed to accept me. Uh, what's
- 31:14Speaker 1: say if you loved me, you accept me for who
- 31:16Speaker 1: I am. Well, yeah, and what you just said is
- 31:20Speaker 1: pretty real. You're not necessarily the same person ten years
- 31:24Speaker 1: ago or today that you were ten years ago. And
- 31:30Speaker 1: how can you sit there and say, well, you're supposed
- 31:32Speaker 1: to just love me how I am. But we get
- 31:34Speaker 1: upset if somebody questions that.
- 31:36Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, yeah, I guess I will say that. It
- 31:40Speaker 4: seems like the biggest problems that we have, that we
- 31:43Speaker 4: humans have, is that we we don't expect things to change,
- 31:48Speaker 4: We don't will with change, and if we think that
- 31:50Speaker 4: the world is just this static thing and that things
- 31:52Speaker 4: are going to be just the way they are today.
- 31:55Speaker 4: I think that is the bigger problem.
- 31:58Speaker 1: That's not a relationship problem, it's a human being problem,
- 32:01Speaker 1: right because I think it is.
- 32:02Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I think it is. But there's still that
- 32:05Speaker 4: thing of what if your partner changes so much that
- 32:10Speaker 4: they're not even the same person anymore then that you
- 32:14Speaker 4: again made that agreement with are you really are you
- 32:17Speaker 4: really breaking a commitment to someone who isn't even the
- 32:23Speaker 4: same person anymore. Ten years down the road, they're a
- 32:27Speaker 4: completely different person. They're not the person that you made
- 32:30Speaker 4: that commitment with anymore. I just think that I think
- 32:33Speaker 4: that there's got to be a balance there. There has
- 32:36Speaker 4: to be this thing of yes. I think it's really
- 32:41Speaker 4: good for families, for kids, especially when we're raising kids,
- 32:44Speaker 4: to have some stability there, the stability that goes along
- 32:47Speaker 4: with rolling with change. And we also need to realize
- 32:52Speaker 4: that not all change is good. Not all changes something
- 32:56Speaker 4: that we that we should just expect to go along with.
- 33:00Speaker 1: You know, And where I'm going to tell you this,
- 33:04Speaker 1: I think I've told you this before, Michael. Some friends
- 33:06Speaker 1: of mine in college, they were all in love. Out
- 33:10Speaker 1: of college, got married on just great paths, and financially
- 33:14Speaker 1: that seemed like there was never you know, they were
- 33:16Speaker 1: on the path to the fairytale ending, so to speak.
- 33:19Speaker 1: And out of college he got into tattoos, sleeves of tattoos,
- 33:23Speaker 1: just and that was something she just said, Hey, this
- 33:26Speaker 1: is not I can't be with you. This is a
- 33:28Speaker 1: different lifestyle than what I want. So they ended up
- 33:30Speaker 1: getting divorced, and they're both doing great now in their
- 33:32Speaker 1: own lifestyles. But at what point do we I mean,
- 33:37Speaker 1: how do you sit there and go, wait a second,
- 33:39Speaker 1: this is not what I want but am I being selfish?
- 33:45Speaker 1: Or how how do you draw the line? I mean,
- 33:48Speaker 1: it's not that simple. We've talked about it before. It's
- 33:50Speaker 1: not that simple for people to just leave each other.
- 33:52Speaker 1: I think most of the time people just accept it
- 33:54Speaker 1: and go, well, he's different now, she's different now. But
- 33:57Speaker 1: this is what I'm stuck with a change. You know,
- 34:00Speaker 1: they changed, and I'm I love them, so I'm supposed
- 34:02Speaker 1: to accept it. But it's okay to go, well, no,
- 34:06Speaker 1: this is not what I don't want to You know,
- 34:08Speaker 1: I want to go skydive. Well I don't want to
- 34:10Speaker 1: jump out of a plane. Well, if you don't jump
- 34:11Speaker 1: out of a plane, then we're divorced. Well, okay, we're
- 34:14Speaker 1: divorced because but I know that's it. I know about
- 34:18Speaker 1: the dramatic scenario. But when you start to look at
- 34:21Speaker 1: things like that, you go, at what point do you
- 34:23Speaker 1: have to go, wait, this is not what I want
- 34:26Speaker 1: how I want to live my life.
- 34:29Speaker 4: Or really good examples?
- 34:31Speaker 1: Or are we overreacting ahead I was gonna say, or
- 34:34Speaker 1: are we over do we overreact more than we accept
- 34:37Speaker 1: the change because it's not that big a deal.
- 34:38Speaker 4: I was going to say, uh, yeah, underreact, overreacting who's
- 34:43Speaker 4: to say, you know, who's to say, who's the judge
- 34:45Speaker 4: of that? We have heard a lot a lot of
- 34:51Speaker 4: couples stirre together for a while and one of them
- 34:54Speaker 4: starts embracing the genders that they weren't before, and now
- 34:59Speaker 4: they're deciding, Okay, I'm not the same I'm not the
- 35:03Speaker 4: same sex as I was before.
- 35:05Speaker 1: Okay. Yeah, And we hear of.
- 35:08Speaker 4: Stories like that where they end up staying together. Oh really,
- 35:12Speaker 4: maybe we hear about those because that seems and probably
- 35:17Speaker 4: is unusual, I think for most of us when we
- 35:19Speaker 4: think about that, if our partner changed that much, that'd
- 35:23Speaker 4: be really difficult to think I want to continue a
- 35:27Speaker 4: relationship with them. But but it happens.
- 35:32Speaker 1: So but let me ask you this in that in
- 35:35Speaker 1: a scenario, just in a general scenario of okay, if
- 35:39Speaker 1: we say, if we change financially, we change sexually, we
- 35:42Speaker 1: change communicate from a communications standpoint, there are all these
- 35:47Speaker 1: different things that could change that are we would say,
- 35:52Speaker 1: really dramatic. Right, But if you if you care more
- 35:56Speaker 1: about let's say, you care more about the communication and
- 35:59Speaker 1: respect and the love you have for this partner as
- 36:01Speaker 1: opposed to the sex or as opposed to the financial
- 36:04Speaker 1: stability as opposed to and you have that and all
- 36:07Speaker 1: the other stuff changes. Is that who we say, Well,
- 36:11Speaker 1: it depends on what you care about in that relationship,
- 36:13Speaker 1: on what changes and what doesn't, and how you feel
- 36:15Speaker 1: about it.
- 36:18Speaker 4: Yeah, and kind of how you see yourself as a
- 36:20Speaker 4: partner to that person. That's that's just a really hard
- 36:25Speaker 4: thing for us to do, is to say, Okay, well,
- 36:28Speaker 4: what is my role now? Where do I fit?
- 36:30Speaker 1: How do I fit in?
- 36:31Speaker 4: What does our relationship kind of look like? When the
- 36:34Speaker 4: change is enough that we sort of don't know where
- 36:37Speaker 4: we fit anymore?
- 36:38Speaker 1: Oh?
- 36:39Speaker 4: Okay, that's when things that's when people really start questioning
- 36:42Speaker 4: is this going to work? All?
- 36:44Speaker 1: Right? Michael? Hold on a second. Michael Bean is here
- 36:46Speaker 1: for the Marriage and Family Center. Good morning, Michael, Good morning.
- 36:50Speaker 1: Six six's one three two seven fifty one hundred. That
- 36:53Speaker 1: is the phone number to get a hold of them.
- 36:55Speaker 1: Have a few steps you go through, just listen to
- 36:56Speaker 1: the prompts and you'll you'll figure it out. Michael. We've
- 37:00Speaker 1: been talking about a little bit about change and people changing,
- 37:03Speaker 1: but let's talk about a comfort zone. A couple and
- 37:07Speaker 1: a comfort zone. When we talk about changing and some
- 37:11Speaker 1: of the things, especially over the years. You have a
- 37:13Speaker 1: comfort zone of who you are, what you want. And
- 37:15Speaker 1: I'll use the example of jumping out of the airplane.
- 37:17Speaker 1: You know, for some reason, everybody goes through a midlife
- 37:19Speaker 1: crisis wants to jump out of a damn airplane. And
- 37:23Speaker 1: if I don't want to jump out of an airplane
- 37:25Speaker 1: with you, oh I don't love you, I don't I
- 37:27Speaker 1: don't care about what you want. I don't you know,
- 37:29Speaker 1: all of these things that could come up as opposed
- 37:31Speaker 1: to going you know, I'm not comfortable doing that. I'm
- 37:35Speaker 1: not comfortable having the sex thing that you want to
- 37:38Speaker 1: do because you and your friends all talked about it,
- 37:40Speaker 1: or the relationship change, you know, whatever. What do we do?
- 37:44Speaker 1: I mean, how do we I mean obviously it's so
- 37:48Speaker 1: specific to each person because you and I have different
- 37:50Speaker 1: comfort zones, right Michael.
- 37:52Speaker 4: Yeah, well we do.
- 37:53Speaker 2: We do.
- 37:54Speaker 4: We're going to roll with different things. And I like
- 37:59Speaker 4: your example of a with all the taps and you know,
- 38:01Speaker 4: suddenly his other half said, no, that's not for me.
- 38:04Speaker 4: You're not the same person as I was looking for. Yeah,
- 38:08Speaker 4: we all have to make that decision. This is this
- 38:10Speaker 4: is beyond where I am. Where I'm Okay. I just
- 38:14Speaker 4: if you're if you're in a long term relationship and
- 38:17Speaker 4: your partner suddenly said, you know, I want to go
- 38:20Speaker 4: live in a mud hut in Uganda nine years come on,
- 38:26Speaker 4: or maybe sure the rest of my life? You know
- 38:28Speaker 4: how long it's going to be.
- 38:29Speaker 1: H what would you do? Well, here's my question now,
- 38:34Speaker 1: just specifically to that example. Yeah, am I supposed to
- 38:38Speaker 1: go try it? As the partner that really doesn't want
- 38:41Speaker 1: to live in a mud hut in Uganda? Am I
- 38:43Speaker 1: supposed to at least go attempt it and and say, well, okay,
- 38:47Speaker 1: I tried it because I loved you and it didn't
- 38:49Speaker 1: work for me, So I'm out and you could stay
- 38:51Speaker 1: here for the rest of your life? Or do I
- 38:54Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying? What do we do until
- 38:57Speaker 1: we I mean, maybe it's great, maybe it's the best. Ever,
- 39:00Speaker 1: I don't know, So what do you think about that?
- 39:04Speaker 4: Maybe it's the bad maybe, But again, it just depends
- 39:10Speaker 4: on if you can even wrap your mind around that,
- 39:13Speaker 4: if you can see yourself living that way or not.
- 39:17Speaker 4: I think it really is going to come down to that.
- 39:19Speaker 4: Can I see myself jumping out of the plane. Can
- 39:22Speaker 4: I see myself living in a mud hunt in Uganda.
- 39:26Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 39:28Speaker 4: I'm glad I don't have to face that right now,
- 39:30Speaker 4: but a lot of the people that contact me are
- 39:32Speaker 4: facing things in a relationship that probably feel like that.
- 39:35Speaker 4: It feels like I'm having to live a life it's
- 39:38Speaker 4: so different than the one I thought I was going
- 39:40Speaker 4: to have to live.
- 39:41Speaker 1: And that's what I wanted to say to you, because
- 39:45Speaker 1: a change like moving to a mud hunt is different
- 39:49Speaker 1: than sane. Well, I want to, as you put it,
- 39:54Speaker 1: put a beauty salon in our house, in our living
- 39:57Speaker 1: room where I want to do something that is doesn't
- 40:01Speaker 1: seem so crazy as moving to Yuganda. And then, but then,
- 40:08Speaker 1: how do we get through issues like that? Because you
- 40:10Speaker 1: and I might go If we compare the two, you
- 40:13Speaker 1: might go, well, living to Uganda and uprooting your whole
- 40:16Speaker 1: life is a little bit more, more further than I
- 40:20Speaker 1: want to go for you. But I might jump out
- 40:22Speaker 1: of the plane for you. At least we're staying in home,
- 40:24Speaker 1: you know. So everybody has this different idea of once
- 40:27Speaker 1: what where how do we sit there and go wait
- 40:30Speaker 1: a second, I'm willing to go this far, and it
- 40:37Speaker 1: is that where you just go, Well, you got to compromise.
- 40:39Speaker 1: I don't necessarily totally believe in compromise, but I do
- 40:42Speaker 1: think that what do you do.
- 40:46Speaker 6: Right right?
- 40:47Speaker 4: Because one person's who ganda mud hunt is another person's
- 40:52Speaker 4: added arms. You know, absolutely you can't compare. It's just
- 40:58Speaker 4: when we look at things, when we're in that city
- 41:00Speaker 4: situation and we just know this isn't working for me.
- 41:04Speaker 4: That's that's the thing you have to face. That's it
- 41:06Speaker 4: right there. How far should you have to go? As
- 41:10Speaker 4: far as you can still feel like I can be
- 41:13Speaker 4: a fulfilled, competent human being, continue to kind of work
- 41:19Speaker 4: toward goals that are meaningful to me and have a
- 41:21Speaker 4: meaningful life. Beyond that, you shouldn't compromise.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Well, Hadi, would you just say no not doing it.
- 41:30Speaker 2: Well?
- 41:30Speaker 4: Like we talked about off air, each of us in
- 41:34Speaker 4: a relationship has veto power. We all can just put
- 41:39Speaker 4: our foot down and say that's just too far from me.
- 41:41Speaker 4: I just I am not going to be okay that
- 41:44Speaker 4: I'm not going to I'm not going to thank you to.
- 41:47Speaker 4: In a healthy relationship, either partner should be able to
- 41:50Speaker 4: just draw the line and say, hey, we looked really
- 41:54Speaker 4: hard for a house with the garage we're not going
- 41:57Speaker 4: to turn it into a pool room because we want
- 42:00Speaker 4: to park our cars in the group. Yeah, put my
- 42:02Speaker 4: foot down and say no to that one. Each partner
- 42:06Speaker 4: should have the ability to to just say no, that's
- 42:09Speaker 4: just too far. So the problem is if you overuse that,
- 42:14Speaker 4: then your partner starts feeling like, well, now I can't
- 42:17Speaker 4: be the kind of curse up I want to be.
- 42:19Speaker 4: So you have to use it really judiciously. If it's
- 42:22Speaker 4: really good to ruin your life to have two great
- 42:24Speaker 4: Danes in your home, say no to the great Dames.
- 42:28Speaker 1: But I understand that.
- 42:29Speaker 4: It could hurt the relationship that great Danes are really
- 42:32Speaker 4: important to your partner.
- 42:33Speaker 1: All right, hold on, Michael, I do want to talk
- 42:34Speaker 1: a little bit more about that. Michael Bean is here
- 42:36Speaker 1: for the Marriage Family Center recorder.
- 42:38Speaker 4: Michael, good morning, all right.
- 42:40Speaker 1: Six six one three two seven five to one zero
- 42:43Speaker 1: zero three two seven fifty one hundred. Michael, we're talking
- 42:46Speaker 1: about drawing the lane, drawing the line in the sand,
- 42:49Speaker 1: the veto power that you said everybody has in their relationship,
- 42:53Speaker 1: which there's a lot of guys out there that will
- 42:55Speaker 1: disagree with that, but there's a constant wants to say
- 43:00Speaker 1: no right there, is.
- 43:03Speaker 4: Yeah, there is. We all need to keep that ability
- 43:06Speaker 4: to say this is just too far for me. But man,
- 43:10Speaker 4: when anything gets too far for you, or there's something
- 43:13Speaker 4: that's just really important to them is too far for you,
- 43:16Speaker 4: then you really are threatening the relationship.
- 43:18Speaker 1: I say and no, Now I want to ask you
- 43:20Speaker 1: about the consequence of that. Now, Let's say if I
- 43:24Speaker 1: say no to something, Michael, and you go, well, okay,
- 43:30Speaker 1: are you going to have a regret that I said no?
- 43:33Speaker 1: And or if what I said no to could have
- 43:36Speaker 1: been the best possible thing for our lives and relationships
- 43:41Speaker 1: had I said yes. We never know, and there's a
- 43:44Speaker 1: is there always is there going to be some sort
- 43:47Speaker 1: of grudge or or a regret.
- 43:53Speaker 4: I think sometimes I think if the conversation can't continue,
- 43:59Speaker 4: we can't kind of come up with a way for
- 44:02Speaker 4: you to found that thing that you're really looking forward to,
- 44:07Speaker 4: that you just sort of see is fulfilling in your life. Yeah,
- 44:12Speaker 4: it is. It's going to feel like now I'm an
- 44:14Speaker 4: impediment to you. And it's sometimes it just feels arbitrary.
- 44:18Speaker 4: You're just saying no for no real good reason, just
- 44:21Speaker 4: our fearing change or whatever. And yeah, then I start
- 44:25Speaker 4: feeling like, man, I just I'm sort of in this
- 44:28Speaker 4: relationship with this person is so afraid of change that
- 44:32Speaker 4: I feel stuck.
- 44:34Speaker 1: Because I can see that playing out. I can see
- 44:36Speaker 1: a guy going, I want to move to this state
- 44:39Speaker 1: because I got this job offer. It's going to be great,
- 44:43Speaker 1: and his spouse going, no, I'm from Bakersfield. I'm staying here,
- 44:47Speaker 1: and him staying here. And if they had moved, they
- 44:52Speaker 1: financially they would have been better, they would have loved
- 44:54Speaker 1: a great life had they just tried it, And now
- 44:57Speaker 1: him having some regret overgoing. You know, I'm sure or
- 45:00Speaker 1: it goes both ways in some in a different scenario,
- 45:04Speaker 1: but I just don't see how that could cause a
- 45:08Speaker 1: major problem. I guess I'm just I guess what when
- 45:12Speaker 1: we're talking about this, Michael, I'm just thinking of of
- 45:15Speaker 1: things that would bother me personally. You have your own
- 45:17Speaker 1: things that are very different than what would bother you personally,
- 45:20Speaker 1: or where you're going to say no. Everybody has their different,
- 45:23Speaker 1: uh different position on where they're going to say no.
- 45:27Speaker 1: So it's hard to have a real kind of like
- 45:28Speaker 1: a general conversation about it other than just saying it is.
- 45:31Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 45:32Speaker 1: I don't know. I think it's kind of difficult.
- 45:34Speaker 6: To do that.
- 45:36Speaker 4: You know, it is, see, because one person thinks that
- 45:39Speaker 4: they're just asking for something reasonable and the other person's
- 45:42Speaker 4: being unreasonable, and the other person thinks you're asking for
- 45:44Speaker 4: something unreasonable, and both perspectives are defensible. You know, if
- 45:52Speaker 4: you were in that person's head, you probably feel the
- 45:54Speaker 4: same way. So how do you possibly This is why
- 45:57Speaker 4: when a couple comes to me, it's just so important
- 46:00Speaker 4: that I'm not judge or that I might look for
- 46:02Speaker 4: blamed because each of the partners is feeling really justified
- 46:07Speaker 4: in the very untenable position that they're taking, which is
- 46:12Speaker 4: generally I'm not happy and it's not partner's fault.
- 46:18Speaker 1: That's where we learned. That's where we've talk to people
- 46:20Speaker 1: like you and learn how to understand where they're coming
- 46:23Speaker 1: from and them understand where where I'm.
- 46:26Speaker 4: Coming from, right, and that it's just really really hard,
- 46:29Speaker 4: it really is. It's hard to kind of put yourself
- 46:31Speaker 4: in their head long enough to appreciate it. But once
- 46:33Speaker 4: you do, I mean, the change may or may not happen,
- 46:37Speaker 4: and it's going to be okay because now at least
- 46:40Speaker 4: you understand where each other's coming from. Whether the change
- 46:42Speaker 4: happens or not, whether you go along with the tattoos
- 46:46Speaker 4: or the beauty partner parlor in the room, or you know,
- 46:50Speaker 4: whatever the thing is, whether you go along with that
- 46:53Speaker 4: or not, you better get your partner on a real
- 46:56Speaker 4: deep level so they feel at least understood in that process.
- 46:59Speaker 4: You can at least be on their side. And they're like, man,
- 47:02Speaker 4: I just I really wish things could have been different.
- 47:05Speaker 4: And then you are not like, well, you know it's
- 47:08Speaker 4: not my fallow and you know that's not what I
- 47:10Speaker 4: agree to when we Now you got to be more like,
- 47:13Speaker 4: you know, that's got to be really awful. I just
- 47:17Speaker 4: I wish we could figure out how to make this work,
- 47:20Speaker 4: all right.
- 47:20Speaker 1: So I just wanted to get back to this real
- 47:22Speaker 1: quick since uh, I didn't get a whole lot of
- 47:28Speaker 1: chance to explain it because Michael Bean was here. But
- 47:31Speaker 1: a couple of people, a couple of you guys asked me,
- 47:33Speaker 1: gil Rod asked me. A couple of you guys asked
- 47:34Speaker 1: me what happened to Angel? Now I don't know. I
- 47:37Speaker 1: didn't ask him. But Angel's on vacation for a couple
- 47:40Speaker 1: of months, and so we'll see maybe when he when
- 47:44Speaker 1: he gets back from vacation. We'll find out what happened.
- 47:47Speaker 1: But and then somebody asked me about taking calls. I
- 47:51Speaker 1: have always taken phone calls from people who are locked up. Always,
- 47:57Speaker 1: if you call me COLLECT, I'll take your phone call.
- 47:59Speaker 1: I'm I've even taken phone calls from people that are
- 48:02Speaker 1: just calling COLLECT for some reason.
- 48:04Speaker 6: But no, I don't. I'm not.
- 48:07Speaker 1: If people are listening, If people are listening on vacation
- 48:11Speaker 1: and they want to talk to me, why why wouldn't
- 48:13Speaker 1: I take their phone calls? I don't know why. Somebody
- 48:16Speaker 1: was texting me what the thought that was weird that
- 48:18Speaker 1: I do that? Why would I? Why would I think
- 48:20Speaker 1: that was why? Why do you think that's weird? I
- 48:22Speaker 1: don't care. I mean, everybody, everybody listens in, you know,
- 48:26Speaker 1: different capacities to the show. Why would I ignore a listener,
- 48:32Speaker 1: you know, regardless of whether they're on vacation or not.
- 48:35Speaker 3: I don't.
- 48:36Speaker 1: I don't understand that. But for some reason, somebody text
- 48:41Speaker 1: me a long text message about why why would I
- 48:44Speaker 1: do that? You're you? I'm like, why wouldn't I do that?
- 48:47Speaker 1: Would you send me here?
- 48:51Speaker 3: Hey?
- 48:51Speaker 1: Rom good morning Romeo. I was told by the DJ
- 48:55Speaker 1: there would be a movie. After the backpack giveaway, I
- 48:58Speaker 1: was wondering, if you know, if it was a it
- 49:00Speaker 1: will be an R rated movie, if I should bring
- 49:02Speaker 1: my grandkids or my friends. Thanks, No, it won't be
- 49:06Speaker 1: an R rated movie. We the whole backpack, the whole
- 49:10Speaker 1: backpack giveaways for kids, and since we've moved it indoors, sin,
- 49:14Speaker 1: it's gonna be one hundred and thirteen. I guess from
- 49:16Speaker 1: what I understand on Sunday it's some room I heard
- 49:18Speaker 1: since writing, Cinerma has been so gracious to let us
- 49:22Speaker 1: use a theater. No, we're it'll be it'll be some
- 49:26Speaker 1: sort of family oriented movie. It won't be. It won't
- 49:30Speaker 1: be an R rated movie. I don't We've never We
- 49:33Speaker 1: try to keep it family orientated because we want you
- 49:36Speaker 1: to show up with your kids and have fun and enjoy. Okay, alright,
- 49:40Speaker 1: A four two four or seven and seven. I wish
- 49:43Speaker 1: I knew what the movie was. Hey, Roam, is Angel
- 49:47Speaker 1: a Raiders fan? That would be a little hilarious. I
- 49:54Speaker 1: don't think it Rangel. I don't think Angels are a
- 49:56Speaker 1: Rader fan. I don't think Angel is a real sports fan.
- 49:58Speaker 1: To be honest with you, I don't think he's a
- 49:59Speaker 1: big football fan. I can't remember, but I don't believe
- 50:05Speaker 1: he is a I don't believe he has an allegiance
- 50:08Speaker 1: to a team, to be honest with you, so oh, man,
- 50:12Speaker 1: I got it. I wrote a new Raider song. Over
- 50:14Speaker 1: the last couple of days, I wrote and produced the
- 50:18Speaker 1: new Raider song. I wish I had it with me
- 50:21Speaker 1: to play it.
- 50:22Speaker 3: Hey, you know Angel's going to get out someday. I'd
- 50:25Speaker 3: be careful about those people talking smack about it.
- 50:29Speaker 1: He said he'd be out a couple of months. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 50:33Speaker 1: he said he got a year.
- 50:34Speaker 3: He'd be back a year. Man, he already went to
- 50:38Speaker 3: trial and everything.
- 50:39Speaker 4: I have no idea how did he get a dumb
- 50:41Speaker 4: trunk attorney.
- 50:42Speaker 1: I don't ask all those questions.
- 50:44Speaker 4: Man, I was still trying to raise money for his bell.
- 50:48Speaker 3: Now I'm not have to put it on his book.
- 50:49Speaker 1: Exactly, all right, Brother, Angel, we love Angel.
- 50:55Speaker 3: Man.
- 50:55Speaker 1: Angel's been a sign man, we love Angel. Angel has
- 50:58Speaker 1: been a great listener to the SHO show. He participates
- 51:01Speaker 1: all the time. I mean, he's just man. I feel
- 51:04Speaker 1: bad for Angel. Rome take Romeo takes them calls because
- 51:11Speaker 1: he's a real one. Puts some bread on, put some
- 51:14Speaker 1: bread on the book so he can buy some soap
- 51:16Speaker 1: and hygiene stuff. Yeah, we got Gilly working on that.
- 51:20Speaker 1: Rome Angel took raider fan vacation, Angel, you were doing
- 51:25Speaker 1: so good. Who's gonna take care of the neighborhood? I
- 51:27Speaker 1: know Angel was doing so good, man. What happened Angel?
- 51:30Speaker 1: We don't know. Angel's funny. We love Angel, We really
- 51:36Speaker 1: truly love Angel. He's a great guy. I can't wait. Yeah,
- 51:40Speaker 1: and he used to participate all the time. Man, he
- 51:42Speaker 1: would call all the time and let us know what's
- 51:44Speaker 1: going on. Hit a, Yeah, that's all right, he'll be back.
- 51:48Speaker 1: Can't keep Angel down. He'll be all right. What'd you
- 51:51Speaker 1: send me here? Already? Four two pop four or seven
- 51:53Speaker 1: to seven? Hey, Romeo, that's why your show is the
- 51:58Speaker 1: real deal. You're over here having a converse about one
- 52:00Speaker 1: of your listeners and what's going on in their life,
- 52:03Speaker 1: being on vacation and all, not like these other shows
- 52:07Speaker 1: that are just talking about whatever stupidness is going on
- 52:09Speaker 1: in the news in the world. Well, don't get me wrong,
- 52:15Speaker 1: I could still talk about the stupidness that goes on
- 52:17Speaker 1: in the new in the in the in the you know,
- 52:20Speaker 1: the world. But you guys got that handled. You guys
- 52:23Speaker 1: are all, uh, everybody's got a social media account that
- 52:27Speaker 1: you guys are all talking about what's going on in
- 52:29Speaker 1: the world or trending, And you guys got that handled.
- 52:31Speaker 1: You don't need me for that, you know. Plus I'm
- 52:35Speaker 1: way too smart to deal with that stupidity. But you
- 52:40Speaker 1: got to understand one thing. Okay, for those of you
- 52:42Speaker 1: that don't know, and probably somebody's gonna tune out because
- 52:45Speaker 1: they don't know who Angels is. Angel has been a
- 52:47Speaker 1: part of the show for decades, you know, just like
- 52:50Speaker 1: Gilly or Roxanne or Seahawk Lou or Raider Dave or
- 52:56Speaker 1: Raider Rob or you pick pick your guy, man, they
- 52:59Speaker 1: pick your person who you remember from the sh They've
- 53:01Speaker 1: been a part of the show for a long time.
- 53:03Speaker 1: They're they're a part of the show. So why wouldn't
- 53:05Speaker 1: I be concerned about what's going on with that? And
- 53:08Speaker 1: Angel's been a big part of the show for a
- 53:10Speaker 1: long time. We're not going to just let him hang
- 53:12Speaker 1: out to drive because he had to go on vacation.
- 53:15Speaker 1: How's going on me?
- 53:17Speaker 4: I'm actually kind of glad you've got the Raider song
- 53:20Speaker 4: at home. Okay, I'm having such a great day it's
- 53:25Speaker 4: going so good. I don't want you to ruin it
- 53:27Speaker 4: with that.
- 53:30Speaker 1: We'll get or we get there.
- 53:32Speaker 4: Wait for another couple of months. Football ain't tell two months? Wait?
- 53:35Speaker 1: When does? When does football start?
- 53:38Speaker 4: I September?
- 53:41Speaker 1: Oh so nat, Yeah, we'll put the Raider songs ready
- 53:43Speaker 1: to go. Already did and I did it and I
- 53:46Speaker 1: did it sober so it's it's probably the worst one
- 53:48Speaker 1: I've ever done or the best. I don't know. We'll
- 53:50Speaker 1: find out.
- 53:51Speaker 4: Well we we we can definitely wait to hear it. Okay,
- 53:56Speaker 4: we can wait.
- 53:58Speaker 3: Well on behalf of.
- 53:59Speaker 4: All its greater for thank you.
- 54:00Speaker 1: Sorry to get out of here. Hey, Rom, I don't
- 54:05Speaker 1: know if you did that on purpose, but the song
- 54:07Speaker 1: choice was perfect. Would have been better if it was
- 54:10Speaker 1: the uncensored version. I did not do that on purpose.
- 54:14Speaker 1: What did we just play that you thought was funny?
- 54:17Speaker 6: Uh?
- 54:20Speaker 1: I don't know what? Am I playing it right? Jow Yg? Yeah? No,
- 54:25Speaker 1: I didn't do it on purpose. And I will tell
- 54:27Speaker 1: you this. I cannot listen to uncensored music anymore. I
- 54:32Speaker 1: can't do it for I've been doing this radio show
- 54:35Speaker 1: for so long and listening to censored music for so
- 54:37Speaker 1: long that when I listened to uncensored music. I have
- 54:41Speaker 1: to turn it off. I have to listen to the radio.
- 54:43Speaker 1: Edits no, we already got a winner. Allright, keep listening.
- 54:51Speaker 1: We got plenty of backpacks. It well, we don't got plenty,
- 54:53Speaker 1: but we got a few left. Just keep listening today
- 54:56Speaker 1: and tomorrow, today and tomorrow, all right later, thank yeah,
- 55:00Speaker 1: I mean it's I mean, we're yeah, keep listening, keep
- 55:05Speaker 1: listening for that hall pass. Hopefully you will win. I
- 55:09Speaker 1: do want to talk about Pet Peeves though. What's driving
- 55:12Speaker 1: you crazy?
- 55:13Speaker 6: Today?
- 55:13Speaker 1: You got Pet Peeves? We got to get into that
- 55:17Speaker 1: A four two five four seven, that's seven?
- 55:20Speaker 7: Good morning, Romeo.
- 55:21Speaker 1: Hey, what's up?
- 55:23Speaker 7: Okay? What do you think about people that interrupt you?
- 55:27Speaker 1: Oh? Yeah, I can get annoying. I can understand. Yeah,
- 55:32Speaker 1: that's gets annoyed. Does that happen to you a lot?
- 55:36Speaker 4: Well yeah, but not really.
- 55:38Speaker 6: But there is this person.
- 55:41Speaker 4: That just anything because the first stop they come to
- 55:45Speaker 4: bed is.
- 55:45Speaker 3: To interrupt you.
- 55:46Speaker 4: You know people, there are people that like throwing I'm
- 55:51Speaker 4: confirming the conversation that like they will until you stopped talking.
- 55:57Speaker 1: Oh my.
- 55:59Speaker 3: Wow.
- 56:03Speaker 2: I do work in customer service, so I have to
- 56:07Speaker 2: sit there, my god listening.
- 56:10Speaker 4: I think you get to say with what you needed.
- 56:12Speaker 2: But I just thought that was funny because I'm like,
- 56:15Speaker 2: that is my biggest type em Yeah.
- 56:17Speaker 1: Yeah, it could be very very annoying. You have to
- 56:21Speaker 1: be nice to Yeah. Good said that though, because I
- 56:25Speaker 1: do know somebody who, for some reason, she always gets
- 56:29Speaker 1: cut off and then you realize you're like, wait a second,
- 56:33Speaker 1: she was talking. Yeah already fourteen five, four or seven
- 56:37Speaker 1: to seven. You know, there's not a lot of things
- 56:39Speaker 1: that really bother me nowadays. I mean, but uh, you
- 56:46Speaker 1: know what is frustrating and I don't I probably shouldn't
- 56:52Speaker 1: even let it bother me at all, but people changing
- 56:56Speaker 1: changing words, people changing things, right, Like, so we had
- 57:00Speaker 1: so yesterday we were hanging out at just Get Just
- 57:03Speaker 1: Faded barber and Beauty College, right, and it happened three
- 57:06Speaker 1: times where uh, one of the one of the guys goes, yeah,
- 57:12Speaker 1: my daughter, can can they do a wolf cut? What's
- 57:15Speaker 1: what's a wolf cut? I never heard that before? Right, Well,
- 57:18Speaker 1: we pull it up, we look at it. It's basically
- 57:20Speaker 1: just layers. It's old school. It's from like the seventies,
- 57:23Speaker 1: Charlie's Angels, you know, Fair Faucet. It was just layers.
- 57:27Speaker 1: But they had to put a name to it. The
- 57:30Speaker 1: kids today, they can't create anything of their own. So
- 57:34Speaker 1: what they do nowadays is they rename old stuff to
- 57:38Speaker 1: make it seem like they've created someday. You know what
- 57:41Speaker 1: I'm saying, Like crash somebody. I was over at my
- 57:43Speaker 1: buddy's house a couple of weeks ago, and his daughter
- 57:47Speaker 1: comes home and just goes, dad, I'm crashed out. And
- 57:50Speaker 1: I thought and and and I thought, well, just go
- 57:52Speaker 1: take a nap. And that's why my buddy said, We'll
- 57:55Speaker 1: just go lay down. I can sleep like it used to.
- 57:57Speaker 1: It means you've lost it, right. Why are you redefining things?
- 58:02Speaker 1: Why are you changing the names of things that had
- 58:05Speaker 1: perfectly good names. I guess that if that's I guess
- 58:09Speaker 1: that might be my only pet peeve today. You know,
- 58:12Speaker 1: is the you know, like all of a sudden, things
- 58:14Speaker 1: are cool that that poor when we were poor, growing
- 58:21Speaker 1: up poor, the things that we had to wear and
- 58:24Speaker 1: were made fun of because we're poor. Now these kids
- 58:28Speaker 1: wear them as a fashion statement and they have no
- 58:31Speaker 1: idea and they act like they're doing something in the
- 58:35Speaker 1: poor stuff that we had to do. And we'll get
- 58:37Speaker 1: to that next week with the school clothes and things
- 58:39Speaker 1: like that. But I guess those are pet peeves.
- 58:40Speaker 4: I guess.
- 58:43Speaker 1: And it's not because I don't it's not because you know.
- 58:47Speaker 1: It's just because they don't know. I guess that's the bother.
- 58:50Speaker 1: And these kids need to learn that you've created nothing,
- 58:53Speaker 1: and what you're doing is copying somebody else and pretending
- 58:57Speaker 1: like you created it. I guess, Like I said, you've
- 59:01Speaker 1: got a pet peeve. Pet peeves, we're driving you crazy.
- 59:04Speaker 1: Nowadays in the world, there's a lot of things, right,
- 59:07Speaker 1: what's the silliest thing that drives you crazy? Because I
- 59:10Speaker 1: don't want you guys getting all serious about world politics
- 59:13Speaker 1: and world power and all this nonsense. What's the silly
- 59:16Speaker 1: things that drive you crazy? Already fours for seven to seven? Hey,
- 59:22Speaker 1: rom I got a text for the backpack giveaway, and
- 59:24Speaker 1: we're talking about pet peeves backpack giveaway. Said yes, I'll
- 59:30Speaker 1: be there, but can't attend due to work. But I said,
- 59:32Speaker 1: my wife can go with our son for me. How
- 59:36Speaker 1: does that work? She just show up and tell them
- 59:38Speaker 1: her name. Yeah, just show up, tell her, Yeah, she's married.
- 59:43Speaker 1: She'd be all right, you'd be all right. What's going on, Romeo?
- 59:47Speaker 3: This is Corona Bass Soccer.
- 59:49Speaker 1: H what's up?
- 59:50Speaker 6: I was just listening to your phone call right now
- 59:52Speaker 6: about your pet Peece.
- 59:53Speaker 4: You want to know my pets peep, And I'm irritated
- 59:55Speaker 4: by this.
- 59:56Speaker 1: And then I got no luck on trying to wear
- 59:58Speaker 1: your backpacks.
- 59:59Speaker 4: You know, I've been trying for very, very long time
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: and I cannot win one.
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: Of your backs.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: Have you ever won anything I've won?
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: Yeah, not from you, but I've won movie tickets just
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: show us lunch one time or something.
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: But that's like from you.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: Know, Oh, well that's because you're lucky.
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: No.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: And then the other day I was at work and
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: I had my air my earphones on and else to say,
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: oh my gosh, that that that.
- 1:00:27Speaker 6: Was going off like crazy, and I was over there
- 1:00:29Speaker 6: like oh yeah, Like I was all mad, and I
- 1:00:31Speaker 6: was just like, man, they're giving out so much.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: I can see how they got here. But you at
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: least you won something, hey.
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: And then you were saying, oh, you have your your
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: your callers, you know, your listeners, Like I'm like one
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: of your listeners. You can just like squeeze me into
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: winn backpack.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: No, that's not how it works, because I'm not lucky.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: I don't play favorites for anybody, and I gotta go
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: for hey, not even friend when he's in jail.
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: I gotta go.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: What's that I said? You're not gonna pay the favorite
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: to this, Not even for Angels he's in jail, or
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: even Jake, no houlding the money on.
- 1:01:07Speaker 7: His books so he can eat.
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: No, No, okay, you should write it.
- 1:01:14Speaker 6: At least I'll buy him a letter.
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: H writes a letter nowadays?
- 1:01:18Speaker 6: I mean, just get out of here.
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I'm not going to do all that I mean.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: And joke be all right, and Angel be all right.
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: Angel's a tough guy, all right, Pet Peeves? What drives
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: you crazy?
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: Romeo?
- 1:01:32Speaker 6: You know what?
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: My pet peeve is?
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: What's up?
- 1:01:34Speaker 4: And it's gonna start again because school's starting. And it's
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: when you're in that drive through drop offline.
- 1:01:41Speaker 6: You drop the kid off and you go.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: You don't give them a whole lecture and get off
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: and hug them and hold up traffic. It is amazing
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: to me and that you brought that up, because I've
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: had to do it a couple of times to pick
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: up some of my friends kids, and it is amazing.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: See how fat and lazy some of these parents are
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: and what they will do and block traffic and use
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: a lane that's not a lane just so they don't
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: have to be inconvenienced.
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: It is just like if you want to do all
- 1:02:13Speaker 4: that walk on the first week and everything, I'm walking
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: my kids because I'm going to take a while. I
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: don't know, I'm not trying to hold up traffic, do
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: you know what I mean?
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: Bless the Lord, I'm able to you know, do that.
- 1:02:24Speaker 6: I have time.
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: But then when you know, more in the school year
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: and I got work, you know, drop the kid off.
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: By December, they should have the routine.
- 1:02:32Speaker 5: They should take less.
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: Than sixty seconds. Everybody, that's my pet piece.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: That's amazing that she said. That's funny, that's awesome. That's awesome.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: All right, Well, thanks for calling, no problem, have a
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: good one. Well we might have to have a conversation,
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: by the way, next week since school is starting, about
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: the drop off line and how how selfish and disrespectful
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: these parents are in the drop off line already four two, five, four,
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: seven to seven A good morning. One of the things
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: that literally drives me crazy is when I'm trying to
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: leave a parking lot that's on a busy street, and
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: the drivers will leave you there with no courtesy exit,
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: with no courtesy to exit or pass Yeah ah yeah,
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: I uh yeah, I get that already. Board to you,
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: BOT four or seven to seven. What kind of pet
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: peachs do you have? What're driving you crazy nowadays? Hey, roam.
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: My pet peeve is when I'm driving on the freeway
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: and people go under the speed limit in the fast lane,
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: or they stay in the fast lane and cause a
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: bunch of traffic behind them because they won't move over.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: You know, it's worse, by the way, than your pet
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: peeve is when you're the passenger with the guy that's
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: doing that. My buddy does that, and why do here's
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: the other thing, the guy that does that, Why does
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: he always want to drive?
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: Like?
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: My buddy's the worst at that, Like he's terrible. You
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: don't know how frustrating it is to get passed by
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: a Winnebago when you're in the fast lane. That's how.
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: In fact, my buddy puts a I don't even know
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: if you guys know that you can do this. He
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: has it set a setting in his car that if
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: he goes over sixty four miles an hour, it starts
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: beeping it's the most ridiculous thing ever. So yeah, I
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: understand your frustration, but there's nothing worse than being in
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: that car, the passenger in that car that's holding up traffic.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: We're talking about pet peeves, Right, what drives you crazy?
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: I'm gonna guess what drives you crazy the most is
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: probably in traffic things like that. Right, Hey, good morning Rome.
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: I have never won anything. It's so bad that I
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: just stopped trying over time. Well, we're not all winners.
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: I mean that, unfortunately, we're just I've never won anything either,
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: you know, And the bottom line is we just we
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: can't all be winners. Oh, somebody sent me a video
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: of the pickup and drop off lane rules. I'm gonna
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: have to hold on to that and check that out
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: in a minute. Maybe we should do that next week,
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: talk about, you know, what the rules should be when
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: you're picking up and dropping off your kids. Hey, roone
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: drives me crazy when we're at at a concert or
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: something and we are in the woman's bathroom line and
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: women take forever to pee. Who's taking you? What's taking
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: you so long? Just to pee and go? Oh that's
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: why guys line is always short. They pee and go. Yeah,
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: that is a good question. Why do women take so
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: long to pee in the bathroom? Come on, you know
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: what's going on?
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: What's Romeo?
- 1:05:49Speaker 4: We talked about them pet pee.
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I got what you got, and things like.
- 1:05:52Speaker 4: It's a traffic thing.
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: My thing, my pet pee.
- 1:05:55Speaker 4: That irritates me is when I'm waiting to turn right
- 1:05:59Speaker 4: onto a street.
- 1:06:00Speaker 6: And I see your car coming.
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: I'm waiting for the car and then they.
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: Decide to turn onto the street that I'm on.
- 1:06:06Speaker 6: And didn't even put on a blinker. Put the blinker
- 1:06:09Speaker 6: on so I could have went ahead and win.

- 1:07:44Speaker 1: there's a group chat that goes around for the parents
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: to know what's going on. I don't know why, but
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: it seems like every time all of the parents are
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: so stupid they don't understand what's going on. They're always
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: saying the dumbest things in the group chat and God forbid,
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: let something change, and you act like that and oh
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: and they act like they're stuck on stupid, like they
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: don't know. I just wonder. Rome drives me insane getting

- 1:09:11Speaker 1: was wrong with the work truck. Got many of coworkers.
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: I don't even know what that means, right or from
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: I don't even know what the hell he's saying. To
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: be honest with you, Pet peeve is when Ups or
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: Amazon leave your package, they walk up the driver halfway
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: and throw it in the door. You know, I just
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: saw that the other day, by the way, I in person.
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: I was driving down I don't know what road and
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: the Amazon driver just threw it over the fence. It
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: was I had never seen that before. So funny. Alrighty
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: fourteen five four or seven seven, Rob, I don't know
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: what you're talking about, to be honest with you, other
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: than the package deliberately.
- 1:09:55Speaker 6: Why how are you doing?
- 1:09:55Speaker 7: Hey?
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: You know you know what my biggest step.
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: And when they try to talk over you, man, and
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: like when when you got the story going on and
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: then they they try to act like they got the
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: biggest story. Man, let me.
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: Talk, let me tap.
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: Your story better?
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: Yeah, bro, like high side of the story.
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: And if you can't take over, No, man, who does
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: that to you?
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: No? You know what I mean?
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: That's my biggest set me romeo?
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: Who does that to you?
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: Your wife?
- 1:10:29Speaker 6: Man?
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: You know who does it the most? Who doesn't? Not
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: gonna be my wife?
- 1:10:34Speaker 6: My wife does the most.
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: But they you know who gets me?
- 1:10:37Speaker 6: It gives me more mad or my well, my sideway
- 1:10:41Speaker 6: or my side rope be trying to do it.
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: Brother, Oh bro, I move my mind. Oh all right,
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: he said, he'll put up with his wife. You know,
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: try to take over a story, but don't let the
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: side keys take over your story. We got problems point
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: four two five four seven to seven yo road. One
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: thing that gets on my nerves is when I'm getting
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: on the free and I'm driving my work truck hauling
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: a trailer, and it takes a while for my work
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: truck to respond or accelerate, and you see cars, especially
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: semi trucks, smashing down the lane and the lane next
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: to them is empty, and instead of moving out of
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: the way, it just comes up from behind, almost about
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: to crash into me. There's been times where I literally
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: have to get out of the road just uh, just
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: to let's let these idiots pass me so they won't
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: hit me. Yeah, I can see that. I can be
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: very nerve wracking. Throw in the morning every morning morning
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: ninety four point one
