And when there was a great silence, he spoke to them in the Hebrew language, saying, Acts 21:40 The Greek reads – “And he, having permitted; Paul, having stood on the stairs, shook with the hand to the people. And great silence having come to be, he spoke in the Hebrew dialect, saying,” (CG). Paul had just spoken to the commander, requesting permission to speak to the people. With that, it next says, “And he, having permitted.” The commander was probably curious…
