- 1:01Speaker 2: Today I have returned guest, a real friend, also a
- 1:05Speaker 2: podcasting friend, Kate Casey from Reality Life with Kate Casey.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Welcome back to Juicy Scoop. Thank you. Good to be back.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Good to be back.
- 1:14Speaker 2: My gosh, we've known each other for a long time.
- 1:16Speaker 3: I know, like almost a decade now.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:20Speaker 2: To remind you, because you know I have a weird memory.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Incredible memory. So I think that somehow I found you
- 1:27Speaker 2: on Twitter or you tagged me or you sent something
- 1:29Speaker 2: to me.
- 1:29Speaker 3: I tagged you on Twitter.
- 1:31Speaker 2: And you would take Real Housewives episodes and write the
- 1:36Speaker 2: most hilarious, dramatic recaps, almost like I was reading Shakespearean
- 1:42Speaker 2: cliff notes. Right. Where it's like, and then so-and-so whispered
- 1:47Speaker 2: and they were conniving behind someone's back. And I was like,
- 1:51Speaker 2: this is so funny. And then we would talk on
- 1:53Speaker 2: the phone all the time. And then you were like,
- 1:56Speaker 2: how do I get more people to read this blog?
- 1:58Speaker 2: I'm like, no one's reading a blog. You need to
- 2:00Speaker 2: do a podcast.
- 2:00Speaker 3: That's right. Yep. That's exactly right.
- 2:04Speaker 2: And now look at you, all grown up.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Now look at me.
- 2:07Speaker 2: All grown up, successful show for so many years. Um,
- 2:12Speaker 2: everyone loves your show and mother of five.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Mother of five.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Still married to the first husband.
- 2:18Speaker 3: No, the second one.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Oh, wait.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Remember there was the first one?
- 2:21Speaker 2: Oh, you had a little starter marriage.
- 2:23Speaker 3: I had a starter marriage.
- 2:24Speaker 2: For those that don't know, a starter marriage is when
- 2:26Speaker 2: you get married and you don't stay very long and
- 2:28Speaker 2: you don't have any kids. And then you have a
- 2:31Speaker 2: second marriage in which you stay, it produces kids. So
- 2:34Speaker 2: you're five kids.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Or with one baby dad. My son, who's my number two,
- 2:39Speaker 3: just said to number three the other day, you know,
- 2:41Speaker 3: mom was married before.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Oh, that always freaks kids out. When something like that,
- 2:44Speaker 2: they don't know.
- 2:45Speaker 3: I was like, oh, God, this is uncomfortable. And she went, oh, okay.
- 2:51Speaker 3: And then they rolled through it. They didn't think it
- 2:53Speaker 3: was a big deal.
- 2:55Speaker 2: That is so funny. That is so crazy when a
- 2:58Speaker 2: kid doesn't know. Okay, well, we've got a lot of
- 3:00Speaker 2: things to discuss.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Yes, we do.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Crazy things have happened. Let's get into
- 3:05Speaker 2: they have arrested the person of suspect or whatever, of interest,
- 3:13Speaker 2: strong interest. This good-looking guy who is supposedly, allegedly the
- 3:19Speaker 2: assassin of the CEO of UnitedHealthcare. You know the story.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Shot in broad daylight. He died. He was 50. He
- 3:29Speaker 2: and his wife were living separately.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 3:32Speaker 2: People were talking that she didn't seem overly upset. Well,
- 3:37Speaker 2: how do they know? There were so many weird things.
- 3:39Speaker 3: Someone called the house and asked for her statement, and
- 3:41Speaker 3: she gave a short one. Would you want someone to, like,
- 3:44Speaker 3: sob on the phone?
- 3:45Speaker 2: She's probably in shock. And then, of course, there are
- 3:50Speaker 2: so many, like, videos of guys that looked like this
- 3:54Speaker 2: guy wearing the outfit.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Doing little funny parodies like coming home with a backpack
- 4:00Speaker 2: and someone being like, I don't think you should be
- 4:03Speaker 2: wearing that jacket. And this kind of thing. The jacket
- 4:06Speaker 2: is on sale at Macy's right now. Macy's. Oh, wow.
- 4:10Speaker 2: And he was... went to Ivy League school.
- 4:17Speaker 3: He went to Gilman, which is an incredible school in Baltimore.
- 4:20Speaker 3: It's $ 40, 000 a year.
- 4:22Speaker 2: That's high school.
- 4:24Speaker 3: And he was a valedictorian.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Yes.
- 4:26Speaker 3: And then he went to UPenn.
- 4:29Speaker 2: But he was an anti-capitalist and follower of a lot
- 4:34Speaker 2: of things.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Well, two things. One is that he had grandparents that
- 4:40Speaker 3: died in 2013, 2017 that Some have said that may
- 4:44Speaker 3: be part of.
- 4:45Speaker 2: This bigger story. What triggered his hatred for this, yeah.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Somebody also went, you know, they scour the internet when
- 4:50Speaker 3: they find out who somebody is. And someone found his
- 4:53Speaker 3: Goodreads account, which is this.
- 4:55Speaker 2: What is that?
- 4:56Speaker 3: It's like a website where you can rate books and
- 4:58Speaker 3: give your reviews. And he gave four stars to a
- 5:01Speaker 3: book about Ted Kaczynski, who is the infamous Unabomber. So
- 5:05Speaker 3: it'll be interesting to unload, like, what happened to this guy?
- 5:08Speaker 3: How do you go from Gilman and UPenn to an
- 5:10Speaker 3: anti-capitalist who is capable of something like this?
- 5:13Speaker 2: And with the Monopoly money.
- 5:15Speaker 3: What was that about?
- 5:16Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 5:18Speaker 3: That is so weird.
- 5:19Speaker 2: And then also the bullets being engraved, denied, opposed. What
- 5:23Speaker 2: is it? Declined, denied, opposed. And I guess that was
- 5:27Speaker 2: a title of a book.
- 5:29Speaker 3: A book about insurance.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Yeah. And what was weird, though, from the beginning was
- 5:36Speaker 2: originally it looked like he was wearing a black jacket
- 5:39Speaker 2: with a very light tan shirt. backpack then they said
- 5:43Speaker 2: we found the backpack and the backpack was black or
- 5:47Speaker 2: dark gray and then the jacket was said to be
- 5:50Speaker 2: green it was like there was a lot of that
- 5:52Speaker 2: where before this arrest that happened um just you know
- 5:56Speaker 2: this morning they were kind of there were people speculating
- 6:00Speaker 2: like what is this is this yeah you know and
- 6:02Speaker 2: they're like we're looking for him there's a ten thousand
- 6:05Speaker 2: dollar reward and everyone's like only ten thousand dollars like
- 6:08Speaker 2: They were surprising.
- 6:09Speaker 4: $ 10, 000.
- 6:09Speaker 3: It doesn't really seem like much.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Are they even trying to find him? And then the
- 6:14Speaker 2: city bike thing and then the hostel and going to
- 6:16Speaker 2: Starbucks and McDonald's and like also being good looking. And
- 6:19Speaker 2: then they did the lookalike contest, like just like they
- 6:22Speaker 2: had done with Timothee Chalamet. Yeah.
- 6:25Speaker 1: They did.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Well, I called my one friend and he used to
- 6:28Speaker 3: be a Capitol Hill cop. And I asked him, what
- 6:30Speaker 3: do you thought? Because at first it looked like somebody who.
- 6:34Speaker 3: seemed like blue eyed and a little bit more fair.
- 6:36Speaker 3: And then when they showed the picture of the assassin smiling,
- 6:40Speaker 3: it looked like two different people. So I asked him
- 6:43Speaker 3: what he thought. And he said, the New York City
- 6:45Speaker 3: Police Department is not only incredible, but there are cameras
- 6:48Speaker 3: throughout that city. And there are three steps ahead. So
- 6:52Speaker 3: even when they say they're still looking for someone, they
- 6:54Speaker 3: probably already know the identity. And that is also to
- 6:57Speaker 3: throw the person off to think, And then there were
- 7:00Speaker 3: reports today. Like you made it.
- 7:00Speaker 2: You're safe.
- 7:01Speaker 3: Like you're fine.
- 7:01Speaker 2: You're safe.
- 7:02Speaker 3: So they trip up and make mistakes. And then someone wrote, well,
- 7:06Speaker 3: based on this, I assess that this person's pretty arrogant. Well, yeah,
- 7:09Speaker 3: I would assume so. So, yeah, he probably thought he
- 7:12Speaker 3: had gotten away with it. Although the weird thing is
- 7:14Speaker 3: they found him in Altoona, which is about 100 miles
- 7:17Speaker 3: east of Pittsburgh. And he was found at a McDonald's.
- 7:21Speaker 3: And it was because an elderly patron had noticed him.
- 7:25Speaker 2: And she called in.
- 7:26Speaker 3: I don't know if it was a man or a woman,
- 7:28Speaker 3: but they called the police and said something along the
- 7:30Speaker 3: lines of, I think that may be the person who
- 7:32Speaker 3: was the assassin. And they quickly brought law enforcement out
- 7:38Speaker 3: and made an arrest. And then they found that he
- 7:40Speaker 3: had four fake IDs. He had a silencer. What I
- 7:43Speaker 3: thought was creepy was they said that the actual gun
- 7:47Speaker 3: was made with a 3D printer. So that, to me,
- 7:51Speaker 3: is terrifying. Oh, my God.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Well, first of all, I feel like we are living in, like,
- 7:59Speaker 2: a 1995 movie.
- 8:00Speaker 4: Like.
- 8:01Speaker 2: I know. I feel like everything is just so weird
- 8:05Speaker 2: and bizarre. And when you were saying you had... You called...
- 8:11Speaker 2: 9-1-1 back in the day.
- 8:12Speaker 3: So I, on September 11th, one thing about me is
- 8:16Speaker 3: I have this very weird thing. I have a crazy
- 8:19Speaker 3: memory and I'm very good with details about people. So
- 8:22Speaker 3: on 9-11, my sister was in one of the buildings,
- 8:25Speaker 3: World Trade Center 7, so I was fixated on all
- 8:28Speaker 3: the news reports.
- 8:29Speaker 2: But she's fine.
- 8:31Speaker 3: But they showed the first pictures from the first plane
- 8:36Speaker 3: that was hit. And I immediately recognized Mohammed Atta, who
- 8:39Speaker 3: was the lead terrorist. And I had remembered exactly where
- 8:42Speaker 3: I was. I lived in this apartment complex when I
- 8:45Speaker 3: was with the first husband who was in the military
- 8:47Speaker 3: in Virginia Beach. It was this apartment complex called Runaway
- 8:50Speaker 3: Bay Apartments. And across the street was this sort of
- 8:52Speaker 3: like a mom and pop kind of mail depot. And
- 8:56Speaker 3: I paid, turned around and walked past him. And it
- 8:59Speaker 3: was like seared into my memory. It was the way
- 9:01Speaker 3: he looked at me. I remember I actually walked away
- 9:04Speaker 3: and said out loud, well, that guy doesn't like me.
- 9:07Speaker 3: It was like that kind of experience where you're like
- 9:09Speaker 3: you could tell someone is just really quite hateful. And
- 9:14Speaker 3: so when you called– I called on 9-11 because I
- 9:17Speaker 3: called my mom.
- 9:18Speaker 2: On the actual day.
- 9:18Speaker 3: I called my mother and said I know exactly where
- 9:23Speaker 3: I was when I saw that man. And she said
- 9:25Speaker 3: call the FBI. So I called the FBI, the regional office.
- 9:28Speaker 3: I said I saw him on April 3rd. It was
- 9:31Speaker 3: at this spot and– And it was about six months later,
- 9:35Speaker 3: there was a news report in Virginia Beach that he
- 9:37Speaker 3: had been staying at a hotel that was about a
- 9:40Speaker 3: quarter of a mile from that mail depot in my
- 9:42Speaker 3: apartment complex in Virginia Beach. And then years later, I
- 9:46Speaker 3: interviewed this oral biographer of 9-11. And in the research
- 9:51Speaker 3: for that, prepping for that interview, I found this news
- 9:54Speaker 3: clip that had said that they had assessed that he
- 9:58Speaker 3: and another terrorist had been living in Virginia Beach. What
- 10:01Speaker 3: they wanted to do was fill a vessel with explosives
- 10:06Speaker 3: and go into the port in Norfolk. But it said
- 10:08Speaker 3: something in the article like a tip about April 3,
- 10:12Speaker 3: 2001 led to them sort of unraveling this whole story.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Oh, did that make you feel good?
- 10:17Speaker 3: Kind of, but it makes you just realize even with
- 10:20Speaker 3: this story that I think especially now where we are
- 10:23Speaker 3: so attuned to true crime stories that we're all sort
- 10:26Speaker 3: of like part of this like citizen justice movement.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Right.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Where I think people are paying far more attention than
- 10:32Speaker 3: they have ever paid before and kind of want to
- 10:35Speaker 3: feel like they're part of solving something.
- 10:37Speaker 2: There was the whole, you know, see something, say something
- 10:40Speaker 2: would happen after 9-11, but then it became seen as
- 10:44Speaker 2: you know, don't be racist. And then there was the whole,
- 10:48Speaker 2: then we didn't want to be accused of being a Karen.
- 10:50Speaker 3: Right.
- 10:51Speaker 2: And now I feel like Karens are going to come back.
- 10:53Speaker 2: I think we're going to make a comeback and people
- 10:55Speaker 2: are going to realize that you want a Karen around.
- 10:58Speaker 2: You want a couple Karens around to get some shit
- 11:01Speaker 2: done and to.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Now you think about that assassin that was in McDonald's, like.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Did he have more plans? We don't know.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Did he have other people on his list?
- 11:11Speaker 3: That person at McDonald's.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Just squelched that plan. Yeah. Because essentially, to not be
- 11:19Speaker 2: a Karen is to mind your own business and move
- 11:22Speaker 2: the fuck along. Well, if you mind your own business
- 11:25Speaker 2: and move the fuck along, then yeah, then you're not calling.
- 11:28Speaker 2: So sometimes, sometimes a hero can be a Karen.
- 11:32Speaker 3: At McDonald's.
- 11:33Speaker 2: At McDonald's. Yeah. Yeah, so we'll see what goes on. Now, okay,
- 11:38Speaker 2: there's more Diddy news. This was a crazy sketch. This
- 11:44Speaker 2: person posted it. It's called V. March Banks. Posted this
- 11:50Speaker 2: video that was on MADtv. And said this was 16
- 11:54Speaker 2: years ago. And it's a sketch on MADtv, and I
- 11:58Speaker 2: watched it. It's shocking, okay? So it's a parody of
- 12:05Speaker 2: Hannah Montana. So one girl is playing Hannah Montana and
- 12:08Speaker 2: the other girl is playing her friend.
- 12:10Speaker 3: It's not Mo Collins, is it?
- 12:11Speaker 2: No. I forgot the two girls' names. But anyway, so
- 12:15Speaker 2: one is. And so you see like the opening, Hannah Montana.
- 12:19Speaker 2: And the one girl goes, you know, where were you
- 12:22Speaker 2: last night? You know, and they do this dumb dialogue
- 12:25Speaker 2: of that. Oh, and, you know, in the day I'm
- 12:27Speaker 2: a middle school student, but at night I'm a pop star. Well,
- 12:31Speaker 2: after the award show, since she's a secret pop star,
- 12:34Speaker 2: this is what the character says. I went to a P.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Diddy party. And they literally, in this sketch, basically share everything.
- 12:45Speaker 2: And this one star, they say Matthew McConaughey made me
- 12:51Speaker 2: smell his armpit. Where there are rumors that that's Leonardo DiCaprio.
- 12:56Speaker 2: That that's something that he does. And in all of
- 12:59Speaker 2: these things that were going on 16 years ago, this
- 13:01Speaker 2: sketch from MADtv... depicts it oh my gosh with people
- 13:07Speaker 2: creepy stuff and girls dancing and eating off of girls
- 13:10Speaker 2: and all this other kind of stuff and then hannah
- 13:13Speaker 2: montana is there and the comments are like oh my
- 13:17Speaker 2: god well of course when you're a hollywood writer you
- 13:21Speaker 2: do know a lot of shit right and you know
- 13:24Speaker 2: and it's and that's why people are like how did
- 13:26Speaker 2: the simpsons know this or how are these things in
- 13:28Speaker 2: here and it's like But this is so dead on.
- 13:32Speaker 3: It is crazy. Sometimes you have to hide the truth
- 13:35Speaker 3: in comedy because that's the only way people can take it.
- 13:38Speaker 2: And then I was saying I saw another thing that
- 13:40Speaker 2: someone posted from an episode of Ellen. Well, you know,
- 13:44Speaker 2: Ellen had P. Diddy on so much. They're really good friends.
- 13:48Speaker 2: And there's old videos of him with Twitch. Rest in peace.
- 13:52Speaker 2: A lot of people still wonder what went on with Twitch.
- 13:55Speaker 2: And Ellen, and he's like, you know, Ellen, you know, Ellen,
- 13:57Speaker 2: we go way, way, way back. So you better. And
- 14:00Speaker 2: then the camera goes and Twitch is like. Eek.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Are you serious? Giving like a weird look.
- 14:04Speaker 2: And she's like, I don't know what you're talking about, P. Diddy.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Oh, boy.
- 14:07Speaker 2: There's that clip. Then there's another one. Wow. That was like, well,
- 14:11Speaker 2: this didn't age well. And Ellen's there with a bunch
- 14:15Speaker 2: of kids that are clearly suffering from cancer, going through
- 14:20Speaker 2: cancer treatment. Young, like all of them are under like 14.
- 14:25Speaker 2: And she's like, but, oh, I don't know who might
- 14:29Speaker 2: be here. And then the thing's open and he's like,
- 14:34Speaker 2: and P. Diddy comes out and the kids go running
- 14:37Speaker 2: and hugging them. And like the comment is like, God,
- 14:40Speaker 2: just when you thought you were safe, like this didn't
- 14:42Speaker 2: age well. And it's just, it's amazing. It's amazing. And
- 14:48Speaker 2: now they say, and all this I found on TikTok.
- 14:50Speaker 2: And now they say TikTok is going to be gone
- 14:52Speaker 2: in January.
- 14:53Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Well, I've accumulated over 400,000 followers. So do you want.
- 15:01Speaker 3: To say goodbye to them now?
- 15:03Speaker 2: I feel okay about it. I feel like whatever is
- 15:06Speaker 2: meant to be, life's rejection is God's protection. I spend
- 15:11Speaker 2: so much time on it.
- 15:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:13Speaker 2: And I love it so much. And it's time that
- 15:15Speaker 2: I get back to reading books and watching TV and
- 15:18Speaker 2: movies again. And so I'm kind of like, if it's
- 15:21Speaker 2: meant to go away... then fine. Because last night, you know,
- 15:26Speaker 2: so we'll talk about what's going on.
- 15:28Speaker 3: You have definitely enjoyed a TikToker or two that I've
- 15:32Speaker 3: been like, huh?
- 15:33Speaker 2: I have found, I listen, I have found some really
- 15:36Speaker 2: great stuff. I've also been highly criticized for bringing up
- 15:39Speaker 2: Tik TOK content. I, you know, no one cares about
- 15:44Speaker 2: Balenciaga anymore. Like that was a big deal. Now everyone's
- 15:48Speaker 2: buying it and acting like two years ago didn't happen.
- 15:51Speaker 2: So I'm like, whatever. But it brings me a lot
- 15:55Speaker 2: of joy. There's a lot of comedy on there. There's
- 15:57Speaker 2: a lot of clever things. There's a lot of things
- 16:00Speaker 2: that make me happy to be on it that's different
- 16:03Speaker 2: than Instagram.
- 16:04Speaker 3: What is going to happen to the choreographers of the world?
- 16:06Speaker 3: Are they going to feel like this is a complete letdown?
- 16:09Speaker 3: Because I feel like when I'm on TikTok, real success
- 16:13Speaker 3: is being able to do a choreographed like 20 seconds.
- 16:17Speaker 3: to like apt by like Bruno Mars.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Well, like that's where it started. Yeah. Then it's so
- 16:23Speaker 2: in tune with what you are into and what you like.
- 16:26Speaker 2: I never see dances. Oh, I see a lot of comedy.
- 16:29Speaker 2: I see a lot of like, um, feel good things.
- 16:32Speaker 2: And then once you watch a couple of something, then
- 16:35Speaker 2: it keeps coming. So like whether it's the P Diddy
- 16:38Speaker 2: stuff or, you know, something else, then, then you get
- 16:41Speaker 2: a lot and you have to, and you, it's literally
- 16:44Speaker 2: like eating a potato chip, a bag of potatoes and
- 16:46Speaker 2: you have to go, Stop.
- 16:47Speaker 5: Okay.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Stop.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Okay.
- 16:48Speaker 2: It's nine 42. Okay. At nine 50, I'll stop. I'll stop.
- 16:52Speaker 2: But then I'll come across something and I'm like, Oh,
- 16:55Speaker 2: that is really interesting. And I do use it here
- 16:57Speaker 2: cause I do bring it up.
- 16:58Speaker 4: But, um, Christmas shopping has already started in our house.
- 17:03Speaker 4: My daughter is so organised, already planning Christmas gifts from Macaulay.
- 17:07Speaker 4: Hair care for her aunt and a fab fragrance for
- 17:09Speaker 4: her bestie. But the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
- 17:12Speaker 4: I'm an early bird, buying one present a week from
- 17:14Speaker 4: now till Christmas, which makes budgeting less stressful. I can
- 17:18Speaker 4: buy in-store or online from Macaulay.ie for home delivery or
- 17:22Speaker 4: free click and collect.
- 17:23Speaker 2: So easy.
- 17:24Speaker 4: Gifts they'll cherish at prices you'll love.
- 17:30Speaker 5: I'm Darman, and this is What Happens Next. Each week
- 17:33Speaker 5: on the show, I sit down with extraordinary people who
- 17:36Speaker 5: have faced tremendous setbacks, and yet somehow have found a
- 17:40Speaker 5: way to turn them into their greatest strengths. Life is
- 17:44Speaker 5: one long lesson of chaos.
- 17:46Speaker 3: I'm heading to the Emmys, and I have police complaints
- 17:48Speaker 3: filed against me.
- 17:49Speaker 1: When your free will was about to be taken from you,
- 17:52Speaker 1: what would you do if it was given back?
- 17:54Speaker 5: Where did that need come from, where you thought that
- 17:57Speaker 5: you had to succeed in order to feel loved?
- 17:59Speaker 2: He said, I have a work dad.
- 18:00Speaker 5: I need a home dad.
- 18:02Speaker 2: What happens next? When I came in, he started crying.
- 18:04Speaker 5: Everybody in life encounters hardships. What defines them is not
- 18:09Speaker 5: those hard moments that they go through. It's about what
- 18:11Speaker 5: happens next.
- 18:13Speaker 3: I decided to risk it all.
- 18:14Speaker 2: I realized how valuable every day was. You're worth the work.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Listen, Dara, I'm not going to pull punches.
- 18:19Speaker 2: You can use your voice even if it's shaped.
- 18:21Speaker 5: The stories are different, but the impact is the same.
- 18:25Speaker 5: Only one question matters. What happens next?
- 18:35Speaker 2: Anyway, let's get into the latest Diddy thing. So there
- 18:38Speaker 2: is a lawsuit, another lawsuit of a woman claiming that
- 18:43Speaker 2: at 17, she was invited to go to a party
- 18:49Speaker 2: with a head of P. Diddy's company said, you're really hot.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Would you like to fly on a private jet and
- 18:53Speaker 2: go to a party with P. Diddy? There, the story
- 18:57Speaker 2: is the story we've heard now a lot. Given a drink,
- 18:59Speaker 2: made her feel woozy and was assaulted. And she was
- 19:04Speaker 2: 17 at the time. And in her lawsuit, they said
- 19:07Speaker 2: on his side, well, you can't be anonymous. And she goes, fine.
- 19:11Speaker 2: And so there's a photo of her at the party
- 19:14Speaker 2: at 17. And the identity is she was National Hockey
- 19:20Speaker 2: League star Evander Kane's ex-wife, Anna Kane.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Such an upsetting story.
- 19:26Speaker 2: So she's like, fine, I... I'm not going to you.
- 19:30Speaker 2: You're making me not be anonymous. Fine. I won't be
- 19:33Speaker 2: anonymous because I want this to be heard. So that
- 19:36Speaker 2: is her story. Really disturbing. And, you know, of course, P.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Diddy's people are, you know, denying everything. But it's very
- 19:48Speaker 2: interesting that she was approached by. Where was she? She
- 19:51Speaker 2: said she was gang, R-A-P-E-D, by Diddy and others in
- 19:57Speaker 2: 2003 when she was just a high school junior. And
- 20:00Speaker 2: she was approached by Harvey Pierre, who was the president
- 20:05Speaker 2: of Bad Boy Entertainment at the time, told she was hot. And... Just,
- 20:11Speaker 2: you know, horrible. So now we know that. Then another
- 20:16Speaker 2: thing came, the Jay-Z stuff. So now Jay-Z is being
- 20:23Speaker 2: named in this Busby, who's the attorney that has all
- 20:26Speaker 2: the cases. This girl who was 13 in 2000 said
- 20:32Speaker 2: she went to an after party of the MTV Movie
- 20:35Speaker 2: Awards and that she was assaulted by Jay-Z.
- 20:41Speaker 3: This is an amended complaint. So this was the lawsuit
- 20:45Speaker 3: that was filed in October. He was not named in that.
- 20:49Speaker 3: It was just P.
- 20:51Speaker 5: Diddy.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Oh.
- 20:52Speaker 3: And they referred to Celebrity A and B. So this
- 20:55Speaker 3: is an amended. So now she has chosen to name Jay-Z.
- 21:01Speaker 2: So it was filed by an accuser identified as Jane Doe,
- 21:04Speaker 2: and she alleges that the assault occurred at an MTV
- 21:08Speaker 2: Video Music Awards afterparty in 2000. With an unnamed female
- 21:13Speaker 2: celebrity who allegedly witnessed the incident. And so she's saying
- 21:24Speaker 2: that it was he who did it, along with Diddy.
- 21:27Speaker 3: Yes. First, she named just Diddy and referred to celebrity
- 21:31Speaker 3: A and celebrity B. One was a man, one was
- 21:33Speaker 3: a woman. So this amended complaint she's filing, she's naming Jay-Z. Now,
- 21:40Speaker 3: what I thought was interesting, I worked in crisis media
- 21:43Speaker 3: litigation for 16 years. I found surprising his statement last
- 21:47Speaker 3: night that he put out.
- 21:49Speaker 2: So his statement was, it came from him, not from
- 21:52Speaker 2: his attorney.
- 21:53Speaker 3: It came from his business.
- 21:56Speaker 2: And to summarize it, he basically said, I'm not giving
- 22:00Speaker 2: you one red penny. This is a letter of blackmail extortion.
- 22:04Speaker 2: this is, you know, horrible. And if this was to
- 22:08Speaker 2: have really happened to a child, this shit, why is
- 22:10Speaker 2: this not a criminal complaint? You're just, you know, going
- 22:14Speaker 2: after my money. Now I have to explain to my
- 22:17Speaker 2: own three kids that there's these allegations out there and
- 22:20Speaker 2: shame on you. And I'm not, um, so, and why
- 22:25Speaker 2: do you think that's right? Cause I actually disagree. I
- 22:28Speaker 2: actually think it's kind of, I thought it was kind
- 22:30Speaker 2: of good for whether it's true or not. I thought
- 22:33Speaker 2: it was kind of a good move.
- 22:34Speaker 3: I did not because it looked like he was a
- 22:37Speaker 3: noncompliant client because he has a fantastic law firm. I
- 22:42Speaker 3: would assume that they were so confused.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Who was a noncompliant?
- 22:47Speaker 3: Jay-Z. He seemed to me in that statement like a
- 22:50Speaker 3: noncompliant client.
- 22:52Speaker 2: What does that mean?
- 22:53Speaker 3: Meaning like they're not listening to legal counsel. Counsel would
- 22:56Speaker 3: probably say to him, Let us prepare a statement.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 23:01Speaker 3: Let us work through this statement. He put out a
- 23:04Speaker 3: very lengthy statement. It was very personal. There were capital
- 23:09Speaker 3: words in it, exclamation marks. It did not look professional.
- 23:13Speaker 3: It looked like it was sent right out, highly emotional.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Legal counsel would never recommend doing that. So that makes
- 23:21Speaker 3: me think if he's not going to take advice on
- 23:24Speaker 3: a press release, is he listening to his counsel?
- 23:28Speaker 2: But I would say if you want to believe Jay-Z
- 23:32Speaker 2: that he is innocent, as someone who's been reading all
- 23:36Speaker 2: this and hearing all the, you know, accounts from the
- 23:39Speaker 2: TikTok to the Jaguar right to all this, he's been
- 23:42Speaker 2: named a lot in the last couple months. A lot
- 23:45Speaker 2: of stories have been thrown around. I'm sure.
- 23:48Speaker 3: And it's probably emotional, but you should still put out
- 23:50Speaker 3: a professional press statement. That's not the way I would
- 23:54Speaker 3: have worded it if I was his counsel.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Right. I mean, I was on Lala's show, Lala Kent's show,
- 24:00Speaker 2: and we talked a little bit about it. And she
- 24:03Speaker 2: said when she was out here visiting from Utah, she
- 24:08Speaker 2: was like 16 having lunch with somebody. And this guy,
- 24:12Speaker 2: it was like at a restaurant like in Santa Monica.
- 24:16Speaker 2: And a car went by and they were like sitting
- 24:19Speaker 2: out where you could see her. And then the car
- 24:21Speaker 2: came around. The guy got out and said, do you
- 24:24Speaker 2: want to go to a Jay-Z party tonight? She might
- 24:27Speaker 2: have even been like 14. Anyway, she didn't go. But now,
- 24:33Speaker 2: I mean, I believe that happened to Lala. Was this
- 24:36Speaker 2: guy lying? Was he really going to bring her to
- 24:38Speaker 2: Poo Poo's party? Like, you know, he just throwing this
- 24:41Speaker 2: guy's name around? I don't know. But there's so many
- 24:44Speaker 2: accounts of young girls saying that they had something to
- 24:49Speaker 2: do with him or he was participatory or whatever. And
- 24:53Speaker 2: so I think if I was going to be pro-Jay-Z,
- 24:57Speaker 2: I would say this is the man who was passionate
- 25:01Speaker 2: because he was like, alright, this is a frickin' enough.
- 25:04Speaker 2: I'm not going to sit here with all these rumors
- 25:06Speaker 2: that are swirling around the internet. This is bullshit. I've
- 25:09Speaker 2: never done anything like this. Screw all these people that
- 25:11Speaker 2: are jumping on the bandwagon and speaking like this isn't true.
- 25:15Speaker 2: I'm not even talking to a lawyer because I am
- 25:17Speaker 2: screaming from the rooftops that I didn't do this.
- 25:21Speaker 3: You can write a response where you refute it, but
- 25:25Speaker 3: I would have worded it so it was, first of all,
- 25:28Speaker 3: far less. It wouldn't be as lengthy. And it just
- 25:36Speaker 3: seemed like it was rambling. I'm telling you, as I'm saying,
- 25:40Speaker 3: it makes me wonder. I worked with a lot of
- 25:43Speaker 3: attorneys who worked with high profile clients and they were
- 25:48Speaker 3: noncompliant clients. And that's really hard.
- 25:51Speaker 2: I would disagree that he did have help writing this.
- 25:54Speaker 2: I think it's really weird that he was like, you're
- 25:56Speaker 2: a Marine, and Marine meaning the attorney is a Marine,
- 26:00Speaker 2: and you are a Marine.
- 26:01Speaker 3: You think someone helped him write that?
- 26:02Speaker 2: I do.
- 26:03Speaker 3: I do not.
- 26:04Speaker 2: I do. Because I was like bringing up that made
- 26:07Speaker 2: people think, yeah, bring up the Marine thing that you
- 26:09Speaker 2: respect military, and then you'll get those people for you.
- 26:12Speaker 3: Well, maybe not a professional person helped him.
- 26:15Speaker 2: No, that's what I'm saying. Maybe not a professional person.
- 26:17Speaker 3: But that's not in agreement to what your counsel would
- 26:19Speaker 3: tell you to do. He is a very– successful person.
- 26:24Speaker 3: He has a number of attorneys. He has managers. He
- 26:27Speaker 3: has lots of people who would never want him to
- 26:32Speaker 3: go off script. So that's surprising to me.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Yeah. So we will see. Because, you know, these are
- 26:41Speaker 2: all things that I've heard. Now, P. Diddy attended the
- 26:46Speaker 2: 2000 Music Video Awards. I don't know if they went
- 26:50Speaker 2: together or But, you know, at the time he was
- 26:53Speaker 2: dating J-Lo and J-Lo's been mentioned. Where was she during
- 26:58Speaker 2: all this time? You know, that's when she was wearing
- 27:00Speaker 2: like the white headband and the pants and everything. Doesn't
- 27:04Speaker 2: mean that she was there. Doesn't mean this is true. Whatever. But,
- 27:08Speaker 2: you know, there's stories swirling around her. Well, at one point, well,
- 27:12Speaker 2: she like put out a statement like enough of this bullshit.
- 27:15Speaker 2: Like I dated him for a little bit. I realized
- 27:18Speaker 2: he was bad news. That's why we broke up and
- 27:21Speaker 2: nothing happened.
- 27:22Speaker 3: Unless she's named in a lawsuit.
- 27:25Speaker 5: Right.
- 27:25Speaker 3: There really is no.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Reason why she is because she hasn't been named in anything.
- 27:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:32Speaker 3: So isn't it wild in the year 2024? We are
- 27:37Speaker 3: now fixated on an award show that happened in 2000.
- 27:42Speaker 3: Like people are going to be looking through all of
- 27:44Speaker 3: that footage, like the Zapruder film, looking to see who attended.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:48Speaker 3: And what happened. And it's 24 years ago.
- 27:51Speaker 2: Yeah, that's. And you know who's doing that? The people
- 27:55Speaker 2: on TikTok.
- 27:56Speaker 3: Yeah, no kidding. Right.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Also on TikTok. So last night. I got down this
- 28:03Speaker 2: hole of all these people in New Jersey and other
- 28:07Speaker 2: cities that for the last couple of days have been
- 28:11Speaker 2: filming what they say are SUV sized. drones they believe
- 28:16Speaker 2: they're drones but they're like that big go you know
- 28:20Speaker 2: where they can see them like load like too low
- 28:23Speaker 2: to be an airplane in their neighborhoods however the film
- 28:28Speaker 2: it's hard to see it's not great footage and everyone
- 28:30Speaker 2: and the comments are like what in the iphone 4
- 28:34Speaker 2: is this like what like what is who's felt what
- 28:37Speaker 2: and so then everyone's like is this a conspiracy theory
- 28:39Speaker 2: are these even real people that are filming it like
- 28:41Speaker 2: are they like what is the whole point and so
- 28:45Speaker 2: There's a conspiracy that no one should be worried. There
- 28:47Speaker 2: is no UFOs coming. This isn't another country. This isn't
- 28:52Speaker 2: China or Russia. This is this other thing called the
- 28:57Speaker 2: blue something, which was this theory that came out in
- 29:00Speaker 2: the 90s that's like the world's governments will get together
- 29:07Speaker 2: and they will stage a alien invention and this is
- 29:11Speaker 2: conspiracy I am not saying I believe this I am
- 29:14Speaker 2: telling you what's out there so you could because I'm
- 29:18Speaker 2: like I'm looking at this nobody's texting me and going
- 29:21Speaker 2: Heather are you scared that we're going to die tomorrow
- 29:24Speaker 2: like there's literally videos and I saw one for Orange
- 29:27Speaker 2: County I saw one in all it wasn't just New
- 29:31Speaker 2: Jersey and I'm like so then I see this one
- 29:33Speaker 2: where they actually made a statement Okay. But then also
- 29:37Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't know, is this real?
- 29:39Speaker 3: Oh, it's South Jersey? Well, maybe. I'm from Philly, so
- 29:43Speaker 3: that is possible.
- 29:44Speaker 2: 48 drones, SUV size, blinking lights. And they're just like,
- 29:51Speaker 2: nobody's worried. The military's not getting involved, but they're also
- 29:55Speaker 2: not saying, hey, it's us. They're not saying it's another country. Yeah.
- 29:59Speaker 3: It's just sophisticated drones, I'm sure. Listen, think of the
- 30:03Speaker 3: flying saucers of the 50s and the UFO sightings. They
- 30:06Speaker 3: all look the same. And now you look back at
- 30:08Speaker 3: it and it looks just like a basic military kind
- 30:11Speaker 3: of like science project. I think that governments have sophisticated
- 30:15Speaker 3: technology that we couldn't even conceive of that they probably,
- 30:21Speaker 3: you know, use at times. But I think this really
- 30:22Speaker 3: actually is a drone. There's a company that just announced
- 30:26Speaker 3: that they're going to start to deliver food by drone.
- 30:28Speaker 3: So I think just people are not familiar with this
- 30:31Speaker 3: sort of reality. Lots of things are going to be
- 30:34Speaker 3: delivered by drones now.
- 30:36Speaker 2: Okay, so the other weird thing I saw that I
- 30:37Speaker 2: thought was interesting is they said there was this big,
- 30:41Speaker 2: this same type of thing happened where they saw, people
- 30:44Speaker 2: saw flying things in like the late 1800s. Okay. And
- 30:47Speaker 2: they thought it was aliens and everything. And the theories
- 30:50Speaker 2: behind that is shortly after... The airplanes were invented. And
- 30:56Speaker 2: so they said what they think is that these images,
- 31:01Speaker 2: whatever they were, were put out there to make society
- 31:05Speaker 2: get used to flying won't be scary. One day we'll
- 31:08Speaker 2: be flying. So in watching this, I was like, maybe
- 31:12Speaker 2: this is to make people get used to the fact
- 31:16Speaker 2: that in a very short time, I might be able
- 31:19Speaker 2: to get into a one-person drone plane Probably. And fly
- 31:24Speaker 2: to La Quinta by myself in two hours.
- 31:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:29Speaker 2: And I am totally down for that.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Right. Well, I'm down with just getting my food delivered
- 31:34Speaker 3: by a drone right now, here and now.
- 31:36Speaker 2: So, yeah. So, yeah. I don't know if it's ET. Okay.
- 31:40Speaker 2: Have you heard what happened to the Huk Tui girl? No. Well,
- 31:47Speaker 2: she announced that she was going to have her own,
- 31:50Speaker 2: you know, Bitcoin. Bitcoin.
- 31:52Speaker 3: Okay.
- 31:55Speaker 2: Is Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, that's all the same thing, right?
- 31:59Speaker 3: I don't know. And by the way, I feel like
- 32:01Speaker 3: I've watched four documentaries on crypto and Bitcoin and I'm
- 32:04Speaker 3: still confused. I still don't totally understand it. And by
- 32:07Speaker 3: the way, I don't think most people do. It's very shady.
- 32:11Speaker 2: I think it's sort of like a Ponzi scheme in
- 32:14Speaker 2: that you put some money in, you see it, it
- 32:16Speaker 2: looks like you're getting more and more money back. So
- 32:19Speaker 2: you put some more in and then it's all gone.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, look at, Real Housewives of New Jersey,
- 32:23Speaker 3: or New York, you have a couple that had Bitcoin,
- 32:26Speaker 3: and then he sold it off. Yeah, I don't know
- 32:30Speaker 3: one person that's been like, I'm killing the game in Bitcoin.
- 32:32Speaker 3: Do you know anyone that's been successful in Bitcoin?
- 32:36Speaker 2: No, and then I also remember the, okay, so this
- 32:39Speaker 2: week is Art Basel. Yeah. And I remember a couple
- 32:42Speaker 2: years ago, I was talking to Ali Shapiro, Jill Zarin's daughter,
- 32:47Speaker 2: and And that was when people were buying NFTs.
- 32:50Speaker 3: Right.
- 32:51Speaker 2: Which is the stupidest. So where is that now?
- 32:53Speaker 3: It's like, no one. Gone, baby, gone.
- 32:55Speaker 2: The art and NFT thing is gone. Yeah, I think
- 32:57Speaker 2: that's gone. Okay. So with this, she's like, I got
- 33:01Speaker 2: a hot tui coin or whatever. And it like exploded.
- 33:05Speaker 2: And then it went down like 90% or whatever. So,
- 33:08Speaker 2: but in doing it, whatever the company was, made a
- 33:14Speaker 2: lot of money on the exchange fees of buying and
- 33:17Speaker 2: selling and buying and selling. That's where they made the money.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Just like if you were to buy a ticket to
- 33:22Speaker 2: Live Nation, there's a transaction fee. So even if you
- 33:25Speaker 2: don't go or even if you sell it to someone else,
- 33:28Speaker 2: they still got the initial whatever, $ 8. So that is.
- 33:35Speaker 2: How I understand it. And so now it's down to nothing.
- 33:38Speaker 2: And some people were saying, Oh, what she did was
- 33:41Speaker 2: illegal and she could be in trouble. And other people
- 33:43Speaker 2: say it just makes her going to be on cancer,
- 33:45Speaker 2: get canceled. I feel like no one can remember anything
- 33:48Speaker 2: from yesterday. So she was probably fine this week.
- 33:52Speaker 3: She's fine. She'll be back next week. She'll write a book.
- 33:55Speaker 3: She'll be fine. Does anyone know her real name? Is
- 34:00Speaker 3: that for the rest of her life? She'll just be
- 34:02Speaker 3: referred to as that. Does she have to change her
- 34:04Speaker 3: kids' last names to fit that?
- 34:07Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know. Yeah, I don't. But
- 34:10Speaker 2: I think, wait, yeah. But, I mean, yeah, she's got
- 34:13Speaker 2: a podcast like anybody else and doing fine in life.
- 34:18Speaker 2: Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Let's talk about it.
- 34:20Speaker 2: This is really everyone's favorite show. Everyone is thoroughly entertained.
- 34:25Speaker 2: Every character on it is fantastic. Bringing it, it really
- 34:29Speaker 2: did have a very funny episode. Meredith was going to
- 34:34Speaker 2: have her bat mitzvah, and she never got it when
- 34:38Speaker 2: she was 13. And so she's very small Jewish community
- 34:42Speaker 2: in Utah, but she's going to have it. And they
- 34:44Speaker 2: have this, you know, beautiful day out in the snow,
- 34:47Speaker 2: and she's doing her thing. Haruk Tata. You know, I'm
- 34:50Speaker 2: not Jewish, so I don't want to sing all the stuff.
- 34:52Speaker 2: And it's.
- 34:54Speaker 5: So.
- 34:55Speaker 2: Entertaining because then Mary, who was once the church leader
- 34:59Speaker 2: who has abandoned her church and now is beloved by
- 35:03Speaker 2: every Housewife fan, she comes and she's like, and he
- 35:07Speaker 2: really is authentic. Like she's really looking through. She doesn't
- 35:10Speaker 2: know that it started. She didn't know that it started.
- 35:12Speaker 2: She's trying to get in and the people in the
- 35:15Speaker 2: audience in the pews see her. And that was really funny.
- 35:19Speaker 2: Then after it, they have this great moment where This girl, Angie,
- 35:26Speaker 2: who's actually got the head, who's in the middle, she's
- 35:29Speaker 2: having a problem with this new girl who's actually not featured.
- 35:32Speaker 2: I guess she's just a friend.
- 35:33Speaker 3: To her great dismay, because I feel like she was
- 35:35Speaker 3: the lead in the high school play.
- 35:37Speaker 1: She is.
- 35:38Speaker 2: She's a singer. Her name's Brittany.
- 35:39Speaker 3: She's been living on the fumes for all these years.
- 35:41Speaker 2: And she's been dating Donny and Marie's nephew.
- 35:46Speaker 5: Right.
- 35:47Speaker 2: Right.
- 35:48Speaker 3: Jared Osmond, the great performer of our time.
- 35:51Speaker 2: Jared Osmond is the John Jansen, Harry Dubin of Salt
- 35:58Speaker 2: Lake City. And she's really trying to draw attention to herself.
- 36:03Speaker 2: But you know what? That's what you need. Like if
- 36:05Speaker 2: you're going to be on the show and you're going
- 36:07Speaker 2: to put a cold mic pack on you. Bring some
- 36:10Speaker 2: attention to yourself. Meanwhile, there's this other girl that they
- 36:14Speaker 2: cut out. We barely see her at all, and she's
- 36:16Speaker 2: just always like, are you okay? And she's pretty, and
- 36:19Speaker 2: we'll never see her again.
- 36:20Speaker 3: My friend who was up for it said that I
- 36:22Speaker 3: think she was too boring. Like she looked like the
- 36:25Speaker 3: great package, but then didn't deliver once they start filming.
- 36:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:28Speaker 3: So that happens.
- 36:29Speaker 2: So then anyway, so she has a hair company, and
- 36:34Speaker 2: she goes, your hair looks like it has a high
- 36:36Speaker 2: body count.
- 36:38Speaker 3: Yeah, high body count.
- 36:39Speaker 2: And I thought, and everyone's like, that is just, there
- 36:41Speaker 2: were a lot of like classic iconic moments. Of course,
- 36:46Speaker 2: we've talked a lot about the new girl Bronwyn and
- 36:49Speaker 2: her Todd father, husband, whatever he is.
- 36:54Speaker 3: There's a couple moving parts to this episode. Number one,
- 36:56Speaker 3: the fact that Mary's late is hilarious because I feel
- 36:59Speaker 3: like all the previous seasons are focused so much on
- 37:03Speaker 3: being Mormon or Mary's church. And then they all are.
- 37:07Speaker 3: isolated in this you know or they're like brought to
- 37:09Speaker 3: this room to go through a Jewish ceremony right so
- 37:13Speaker 3: it is the great thing about that franchise really is
- 37:15Speaker 3: it goes places where other franchises won't go with religion
- 37:19Speaker 3: yeah also there's a lot of time spent seeing everyone
- 37:23Speaker 3: meet Meredith's Meredith's relatives some of it I was like
- 37:26Speaker 3: okay like let's speed this up the mother Her mother
- 37:29Speaker 3: did not seem to be interested in anybody else.
- 37:31Speaker 2: But the mother had her voice.
- 37:33Speaker 3: She does have her voice. Yeah. But they're all like,
- 37:35Speaker 3: it's so great to meet you. And she's like, it
- 37:38Speaker 3: is great to meet me. I mean, she just did not.
- 37:41Speaker 3: You know, sometimes mothers are like, great to meet you, too.
- 37:44Speaker 3: I'm so glad. She's just like, yes, welcome.
- 37:46Speaker 2: And then they had this other good looking son that
- 37:50Speaker 2: doesn't want to be part of the show, which I
- 37:52Speaker 2: was like, oh, my God. Remember how the Osmonds.
- 37:54Speaker 3: My friend thought it was her younger brother. I was like, no,
- 37:56Speaker 3: that was the son.
- 37:57Speaker 2: Yeah, and then you remember how the Osbournes had the
- 38:00Speaker 2: one sister that didn't want to be part of it?
- 38:03Speaker 3: Yeah, he's the Amy Osbourne.
- 38:04Speaker 2: And I was like, oh my God, yeah, he's Amy Osbourne.
- 38:06Speaker 2: And I love it too because there's so many scenes
- 38:09Speaker 2: that are like straight out of Schitt's Creek when it's
- 38:12Speaker 2: like her, the gay Brooks designer and Chloe who's like
- 38:16Speaker 2: this pretty blonde.
- 38:17Speaker 3: They're the Beetlejuice couple. They don't fit in there at all.
- 38:21Speaker 2: It is so entertaining. And then of course you have
- 38:24Speaker 2: the Lisa Barlow who's like really... who's actually, out of
- 38:28Speaker 2: all the housewives that have tried to sing and have albums,
- 38:33Speaker 2: Melissa Gorga, Kim Zolciak, who started it, Luann, who's still
- 38:38Speaker 2: doing it, Lisa Barlow actually kind of has a soothing voice.
- 38:43Speaker 3: She does. She could be a lounge singer.
- 38:45Speaker 2: And I just saw her doing a karaoke, and she
- 38:47Speaker 2: was like, Last Christmas, I gave you my heart, but
- 38:52Speaker 2: the very next day, you gave it away. Pretty good.
- 38:57Speaker 3: She's pretty good. But she's got that Demi Moore kind
- 38:59Speaker 3: of raspy thing going on.
- 39:00Speaker 2: Yeah, it's good.
- 39:01Speaker 3: What do you think about Bronwyn and her husband?
- 39:04Speaker 2: Well, I, you know, I think, look, she's loving this role.
- 39:10Speaker 2: Who wouldn't? Everyone loves it their first year. Even though
- 39:13Speaker 2: she's fighting with people, people really are enjoying her. So
- 39:17Speaker 2: she's getting this fame. And, you know, I... One or
- 39:22Speaker 2: two things can happen. Either he's going to let her
- 39:24Speaker 2: do it and they go on happily Yeah. Or some
- 39:27Speaker 2: shit's going to go down next season, which will then
- 39:30Speaker 2: third season will either be they break up. Right. Or
- 39:34Speaker 2: he's just the Harry Hamlin and we never see him again.
- 39:37Speaker 2: Like Harry Hamlin and Tom Girardi barely were seen after
- 39:42Speaker 2: like one or two seasons.
- 39:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:46Speaker 2: That's what's going to happen. But it's not going to be,
- 39:48Speaker 2: she's no way going to quit for him.
- 39:52Speaker 3: No, no, no, no.
- 39:53Speaker 2: And you know what? As much as he acts crotchety,
- 39:55Speaker 2: even a crotchety old fart might like the attention, might
- 39:59Speaker 2: enjoy people coming up to them at a restaurant. He
- 40:02Speaker 2: actually might like it. Everybody's a thirst bucket when it
- 40:04Speaker 2: comes right down to it. Maybe. Even crotchety Todd.
- 40:07Speaker 3: The one thing that I kept thinking is the dynamics
- 40:10Speaker 3: of the show between the OGs and the newer housewives
- 40:12Speaker 3: like Bronwyn and Brittany and even Angie, like who are
- 40:16Speaker 3: so game to just do anything to be on camera.
- 40:20Speaker 3: It reminds me of like elementary school parents.
- 40:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:23Speaker 3: Like the kindergarten parents who are like, really eager to
- 40:26Speaker 3: get involved with the PTA and they sign up for
- 40:28Speaker 3: everything and they want to have like the party at
- 40:32Speaker 3: their house. But the fifth and sixth grade parents are like,
- 40:35Speaker 3: we don't care. Like we're leaving here in a couple
- 40:37Speaker 3: of years.
- 40:37Speaker 2: Yes.
- 40:38Speaker 3: Like we've done that. It doesn't make a difference if
- 40:40Speaker 3: you work really hard in the PTA. It doesn't get
- 40:42Speaker 3: you any like closer to the principal. And that is like,
- 40:45Speaker 3: The Lisa Barlow and the Heather, like they remind me
- 40:48Speaker 3: of more of like the fifth, sixth grade parents. And
- 40:50Speaker 3: then the younger ones are more.
- 40:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:52Speaker 3: The beginner parents. It's like this, just like elementary school parents.
- 40:55Speaker 2: And Heather's doing fine. It just, it's just, yeah. She
- 40:59Speaker 2: had such a monumental final scene last year that probably
- 41:03Speaker 2: this year, people are like Heather, who like, I feel
- 41:05Speaker 2: like Heather and Whitney, it's just not really about them.
- 41:08Speaker 3: I think Heather's was probably processing. I'm like, I I'm
- 41:11Speaker 3: working on a book.
- 41:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 41:12Speaker 3: I've got other businesses. I mean, If you're first your housewife,
- 41:17Speaker 3: you're thinking, like, I have to have catchphrases. I have
- 41:19Speaker 3: to do this.
- 41:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:20Speaker 3: And they're all just like, yeah, I mean, we've done that. Like,
- 41:23Speaker 3: you're going to run circles.
- 41:24Speaker 2: Heather's like, I'm skinny and I love my life.
- 41:26Speaker 3: She's like smoking a cigarette on the couch. She's like,
- 41:28Speaker 3: I'm just going to take some time off for a second.
- 41:29Speaker 2: Right. Yeah. Yeah. But it's pretty enjoyable.
- 41:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:34Speaker 2: It's campy for sure.
- 41:35Speaker 3: They are solid.
- 41:37Speaker 2: Now, how are you feeling about Real Housewives of Beverly Hills?
- 41:42Speaker 2: What are your initial thoughts?
- 41:46Speaker 3: I don't know who Dorit is. I don't know. The
- 41:50Speaker 3: person that showed up to film, I'm so confused. It
- 41:54Speaker 3: just makes me realize I have no idea who she is.
- 41:55Speaker 3: It just seems like she's almost leaning into a persona
- 42:00Speaker 3: to secure the position. Or maybe she was miserable the
- 42:05Speaker 3: whole time and was pretending not to be. I haven't
- 42:07Speaker 3: quite figured out who she really is, which is weird.
- 42:10Speaker 3: Because she's been on the show for so long.
- 42:11Speaker 2: I think, I really like it. I really feel like,
- 42:15Speaker 2: you know, people do change. And she was about to, like,
- 42:20Speaker 2: she claimed she was about to leave the show. And
- 42:22Speaker 2: now she's there. Do you think she would.
- 42:24Speaker 3: Really have left the show?
- 42:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I kind of think people do think like that.
- 42:31Speaker 2: I do think they think, you know, I could do
- 42:36Speaker 2: something else or whatever. And, you know, I think she's
- 42:39Speaker 2: glad she stayed. And so Carlos King has said he
- 42:45Speaker 2: is a friend of the show. He has his own show.
- 42:48Speaker 2: You know him as well. He also was a producer
- 42:51Speaker 2: on Real Housewives of New Jersey and Atlanta and now
- 42:55Speaker 2: produces his own reality shows with women. But he says
- 43:01Speaker 2: that he heard, or whatever, allegedly, that their breakup is
- 43:08Speaker 2: a storyline. And the argument would be that's why they
- 43:12Speaker 2: haven't told the kids because he's, you know, two years ago, whatever,
- 43:16Speaker 2: he was gone for 75 days in London. So they're
- 43:19Speaker 2: used to dad not being in the house.
- 43:21Speaker 3: Right.
- 43:22Speaker 2: And I'm sure they don't watch the show. They're not online.
- 43:25Speaker 2: They're not reading tabloids. So what would they know?
- 43:27Speaker 3: I think that's kind of absurd, though.
- 43:29Speaker 2: I think it's absurd.
- 43:30Speaker 3: We're not going to tell the kids, but we're on
- 43:32Speaker 3: a reality show and kids have access to social media.
- 43:34Speaker 2: You think it's absurd not to tell them? Yeah, they
- 43:37Speaker 2: might know now, though. You don't know.
- 43:39Speaker 3: Eventually it's going to come out.
- 43:40Speaker 2: She's just saying as they were filming, they hadn't told them.
- 43:43Speaker 2: We have to think about that. I don't know if
- 43:46Speaker 2: she was to walk in right now if she was like, no,
- 43:49Speaker 2: now they know that we're taking some time apart. But
- 43:52Speaker 2: while they're filming, which was like a year ago, she
- 43:55Speaker 2: says no, they didn't know.
- 43:56Speaker 3: I know, but you're still filming a reality show. Things
- 43:59Speaker 3: are going to trickle back to your kids, and I
- 44:00Speaker 3: would hate for my kids to find out that before me.
- 44:04Speaker 2: And so anyway, I... I don't believe that anyone, well, okay, here,
- 44:12Speaker 2: there's two schools of thought. If you're someone who believes
- 44:16Speaker 2: that you're not totally sold on what happened with the robbery,
- 44:18Speaker 2: which is a lot of people, then this wouldn't be
- 44:22Speaker 2: a far-fetched thing to think that this also was something
- 44:25Speaker 2: that they staged. To say, we're not getting along. Let's
- 44:32Speaker 2: really take some time apart. But I also don't believe
- 44:36Speaker 2: that you're so close that you're like, okay, secretly come
- 44:40Speaker 2: over and fuck. I don't think you're fucking. I think
- 44:43Speaker 2: you are at a place where maybe you don't hate
- 44:46Speaker 2: each other. But I just don't believe that you're going
- 44:48Speaker 2: to sit down and go, I think that it happened.
- 44:51Speaker 2: They broke up. But I think in it, they're like.
- 44:54Speaker 3: And you know what?
- 44:54Speaker 2: This is good fucking juicy TV. If all of a
- 44:57Speaker 2: sudden I was on a reality show and something happened
- 44:59Speaker 2: in my marriage, I'd be like, the lemonade is, I'm
- 45:03Speaker 2: going to let you guys see it. And it might
- 45:06Speaker 2: help someone. And if we find our way back, great.
- 45:09Speaker 2: And if we don't, I don't really care. I'm getting paid.
- 45:12Speaker 2: I'm interested.
- 45:12Speaker 3: But what did you think about her talking about him
- 45:13Speaker 3: being an alcoholic? I thought the delivery of it was
- 45:17Speaker 3: so strange.
- 45:19Speaker 2: I think it's the same way that like Tamara kept
- 45:21Speaker 2: bringing up that Shannon Bedore is an alcoholic. It's like,
- 45:24Speaker 2: and it doesn't get well received when someone's pointing, you're
- 45:28Speaker 2: an alcoholic. Yeah. He's like, I know.
- 45:29Speaker 3: The way she delivered it was so weird.
- 45:30Speaker 2: Especially when you're saying it to somebody that's already admitted it.
- 45:33Speaker 5: Right. Yeah.
- 45:33Speaker 2: I'm already admitting it, whether Shannon Bedore is totally sober
- 45:37Speaker 2: or not, or he says, I have been sober this
- 45:39Speaker 2: many months. We don't need you to keep saying it
- 45:42Speaker 2: because the person said it. Yeah. You know, it's not
- 45:45Speaker 2: like you're in a shelter.
- 45:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 45:46Speaker 2: And you're like, I'm at the shelter because you don't
- 45:48Speaker 2: realize that I am living with a raging alcoholic. And
- 45:51Speaker 2: then you're like, oh my God, you know, charming. No,
- 45:53Speaker 2: she's like, no, he was sober for all these months.
- 45:56Speaker 2: Then we separated. And I'm just reminding you that, but
- 46:00Speaker 2: sometimes you, you, because she's probably seeing that people are
- 46:04Speaker 2: liking him and enjoying him. They're enjoying him even more.
- 46:07Speaker 3: As sober delight. I interviewed him once. I liked him
- 46:10Speaker 3: very much.
- 46:10Speaker 2: Sober delight PK. And so she's just like, well, don't
- 46:14Speaker 2: like him too much. Let me remind you, like, There's
- 46:16Speaker 2: a lot of things I didn't tell you the first
- 46:18Speaker 2: four years or whatever.
- 46:19Speaker 3: Isn't that so true of couples? Like when they break up?
- 46:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:22Speaker 3: You have like friends that break up and you're like, oh,
- 46:23Speaker 3: I'm just so sorry that didn't work out.
- 46:24Speaker 2: Oh, really?
- 46:25Speaker 3: Well, let me tell you, like this guy's been an asshole.
- 46:28Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 46:28Speaker 3: She's actually a nightmare.
- 46:29Speaker 2: Do you remember your Christmas party last year?
- 46:30Speaker 3: Remember what happened?
- 46:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 46:32Speaker 2: No, I don't.
- 46:32Speaker 3: Well, we fought in the car.
- 46:34Speaker 2: Do you know that? Did you?
- 46:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 46:35Speaker 3: And by the way, they hate you.
- 46:36Speaker 2: They hated you the whole time. Oh, yeah. They're like, yeah. Yeah,
- 46:41Speaker 2: he didn't want me to be your friend. Yeah.
- 46:42Speaker 3: Never.
- 46:43Speaker 2: So I don't know why you think he's so delicious.
- 46:44Speaker 3: And I stuck up for you, and now you're sticking
- 46:46Speaker 3: up for them.
- 46:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know why you think he's so great. No,
- 46:49Speaker 2: I don't think he's great. I'm just saying, like, I
- 46:51Speaker 2: ran into him at the grocery store, and he was, like,
- 46:54Speaker 2: really helpful. Oh, of course he's helpful to you. You
- 46:57Speaker 2: know what? He also never grocery shopped for his three kids,
- 47:00Speaker 2: who I birthed. And you're like, okay.
- 47:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 47:02Speaker 2: So, yeah, I think it's that. I do not.
- 47:08Speaker 2: I don't think they'll get back together is my personal opinion.
- 47:11Speaker 3: I don't think they will get back together, but I
- 47:13Speaker 3: think Kyle and Mauricio will.
- 47:16Speaker 2: Do you? I think that she's. Okay, this is what
- 47:18Speaker 2: it's reminding me of. It always comes back to Betty Broderick.
- 47:24Speaker 2: Betty Broderick.
- 47:25Speaker 3: This is like.
- 47:26Speaker 2: My favorite.
- 47:26Speaker 3: This is I feel like the hill you will die on.
- 47:29Speaker 3: This is the one that lives rent free in your
- 47:31Speaker 3: head more than any other story.
- 47:33Speaker 2: Betty Broderick, to remind you guys.
- 47:35Speaker 3: And I know one of the kids.
- 47:36Speaker 2: You know the oldest one, Kim, right? Was a socialite.
- 47:41Speaker 2: High Society, San Diego, beautiful homes. Put her husband through
- 47:46Speaker 2: law school. No, medical school, then law school. And then
- 47:49Speaker 2: he got a 19-year-old assistant. And they had an affair.
- 47:54Speaker 2: And then he says, I want to get divorced. And
- 47:58Speaker 2: he and the girl move into a house together. And
- 48:01Speaker 2: she's got the four kids. She's been the stay-at-home mom.
- 48:03Speaker 2: And she's fabulous at it. Like, she's that woman that can, like,
- 48:06Speaker 2: move in in a day, decorate the house, and make
- 48:09Speaker 2: a pot roast and all this stuff. And the two
- 48:11Speaker 2: made-for-TV movies showed all this, which I've seen numerous times.
- 48:16Speaker 2: One of the things that happened was she had the
- 48:18Speaker 2: four kids. And she was like, oh, Dan? Dan thinks
- 48:23Speaker 2: he can do life without me? Good luck. And Each
- 48:28Speaker 2: once every couple of weeks, you just drop one kid
- 48:30Speaker 2: off with a suitcase and he'd come home from work.
- 48:33Speaker 2: He's like, what are you doing? And you think, well,
- 48:36Speaker 2: mom dropped us off. We'll see if he can make
- 48:39Speaker 2: a tuna fish sandwich. We'll see if he can get
- 48:42Speaker 2: his cocky gear together. Well, guess what? They learn how
- 48:47Speaker 2: to do it. And the kid learns how to do it.
- 48:49Speaker 2: And all of a sudden he's got all four kids
- 48:52Speaker 2: at his house. And the 21-year-old girlfriend is quite delightful
- 48:57Speaker 2: and helpful, too. And now she's bitter. And now he's like, well,
- 49:01Speaker 2: now I'm not going to pay you any money because
- 49:02Speaker 2: I have all four kids. So anyway, she loses her
- 49:05Speaker 2: mind and she kills them both and she's still in prison. Okay.
- 49:08Speaker 2: But I kind of think that Kyle may have had,
- 49:13Speaker 2: not that she's a murderer, but might have had a
- 49:15Speaker 2: little bit of like, oh, good luck.
- 49:19Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 49:20Speaker 2: I loved that they showed that part where she's like
- 49:23Speaker 2: oh well like you do you even have like towels
- 49:24Speaker 2: and sheets i can get you some he goes i
- 49:26Speaker 2: got him and she was kind of like well who
- 49:29Speaker 2: am i like i think that she.
- 49:31Speaker 3: Yeah but conversely she's complaining that she has to do
- 49:33Speaker 3: all the things with the house remember and he's like
- 49:36Speaker 3: yeah that was my life like Now I live in
- 49:38Speaker 3: a gated community and I don't have to worry about that.
- 49:40Speaker 2: Right.
- 49:40Speaker 3: And she's like, oh, so it's like to do all
- 49:42Speaker 3: of those house things.
- 49:44Speaker 2: And also, and she's like, I'm kind of jealous. You're
- 49:46Speaker 2: there with, and I have the four dogs, which are
- 49:49Speaker 2: all like giant and slobbery and everything. And he's probably like, yeah,
- 49:51Speaker 2: I didn't ask for four dogs. And now, yeah, you're right.
- 49:55Speaker 2: Four dogs is a lot. And I, listen, I'm a
- 49:58Speaker 2: dog mom too. But I, when you have multiple dogs,
- 50:01Speaker 2: it's like, that's a big thing. So you might want
- 50:03Speaker 2: to rethink it. And he's like, well, I'm fine coming
- 50:05Speaker 2: over and petting them. They're not my kid. And the
- 50:08Speaker 2: Porsches can drive and come by and have lunch with me.
- 50:12Speaker 2: And yeah, then I just take off. And she's kind
- 50:14Speaker 2: of like... And now I think whatever happened with Morgan,
- 50:19Speaker 2: I'm going to make you love me. And I'm going
- 50:21Speaker 2: to talk about it for the rest of my life.
- 50:23Speaker 2: It's not happening now. Whatever their situation is, whether they're
- 50:28Speaker 2: still friends or not, it's not an intense romantic relationship,
- 50:31Speaker 2: in my opinion. And so... Yeah, I think she's kind
- 50:35Speaker 2: of like, well, I don't know. I don't know that
- 50:40Speaker 2: I want a full breakup now, unless she finds someone else.
- 50:43Speaker 2: And they said that both she and Dorit and Teddy
- 50:48Speaker 2: were all trolling Kevin Costner.
- 50:51Speaker 3: Oh my, by the way, dynamite for him. Kevin Costner
- 50:55Speaker 3: is like going to live his best life now with
- 50:56Speaker 3: all of these women after him.
- 50:58Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 50:58Speaker 3: There was an account today on Instagram that claims that
- 51:01Speaker 3: Dorit was outside of Mauricio's apartment. I just don't see
- 51:04Speaker 3: it for those two. I don't, why would she, I
- 51:09Speaker 3: don't see it.
- 51:10Speaker 2: Well, I mean, you know, they have the friendship and
- 51:13Speaker 2: Kyle was sending the memes or whatever to PK. And
- 51:17Speaker 2: I mean, I don't believe that, I mean, Kyle and Dorit,
- 51:21Speaker 2: I guess they're cool now, but I don't think What
- 51:25Speaker 2: that was was exactly what has happened in female friendships,
- 51:29Speaker 2: which is why we love Housewives and why women our
- 51:33Speaker 2: age watch it, love it, analyze it, do podcasts about it,
- 51:35Speaker 2: is because friendships with marriages and this and that, and
- 51:39Speaker 2: also friendships where when there is a break, either there
- 51:45Speaker 2: is something very common where someone was like, I thought
- 51:48Speaker 2: I was more important because you are so important to me.
- 51:50Speaker 2: I thought we were real friends. I didn't realize that
- 51:54Speaker 2: you had 10 of me because I only had one
- 51:56Speaker 2: of you.
- 51:56Speaker 5: Right.
- 51:57Speaker 2: And so, no, I had 10 of you, and I
- 52:00Speaker 2: was okay to put you in a corner when the
- 52:02Speaker 2: cameras aren't around.
- 52:04Speaker 3: Yeah, my husband always says what he finds fascinating about
- 52:07Speaker 3: women watching Housewives, that there are so many nuances to it. Like,
- 52:11Speaker 3: if he's just sitting next to me and there's something
- 52:13Speaker 3: going on in a scene, usually he's watching something else
- 52:15Speaker 3: with headphones on. But he'll say it. wait, what is
- 52:18Speaker 3: that about? And then I'll explain, okay, these are the
- 52:21Speaker 3: moving parts. And he's like, how did you even come
- 52:23Speaker 3: up with that? They're so simple, but there are so
- 52:27Speaker 3: many layers to female friendships. As you get older, lives
- 52:32Speaker 3: get more complicated with children and jobs and taking care
- 52:35Speaker 3: of parents. And Housewives really is quite special because, I mean,
- 52:39Speaker 3: Malcolm Gladwell has a new book out where he talks
- 52:41Speaker 3: about in one chapter how roles of women on TV,
- 52:45Speaker 3: like even Cagney and Lacey, remember that show? They didn't
- 52:48Speaker 3: have families.
- 52:49Speaker 2: Two female detectives.
- 52:50Speaker 3: So it's like, oh, they're take-charge women, but they didn't
- 52:52Speaker 3: have families. So over time, I think Housewives really has
- 52:57Speaker 3: done the best job of showing all the layers of
- 53:00Speaker 3: being a working mom, raising a family, you know, taking
- 53:04Speaker 3: care of elderly parents, the sandwich generation. All of these
- 53:07Speaker 3: things have not been shown on other media platforms.
- 53:10Speaker 2: And I think, you know, The reason the fans get
- 53:13Speaker 2: passionate about certain things is if you are a woman
- 53:18Speaker 2: and you've lived through this.
- 53:20Speaker 3: For sure.
- 53:20Speaker 2: And you can see it. And then, you know, they
- 53:22Speaker 2: have a lot of gay male fans who love it.
- 53:25Speaker 2: But they love it for the glamour and the bitchiness
- 53:28Speaker 2: and the iconic lines and throwing the drink and all
- 53:32Speaker 2: that stuff. And we get obsessed with, you know, like
- 53:37Speaker 2: I was rewatching. Real Housewives. So let's move on to
- 53:41Speaker 2: Real Housewives. I'm going to skip over here and then
- 53:43Speaker 2: go back. I was re-watching Real Housewives of New York.
- 53:47Speaker 3: Oh, right.
- 53:47Speaker 2: Because on Peacock.
- 53:50Speaker 3: Wait, look at the efficient. I'm totally freaked out.
- 53:53Speaker 2: So this was Ramona and Mario season four.
- 53:57Speaker 3: Do you remember the guy who used to dress up
- 53:59Speaker 3: like a Tinkerbell? He was on Instagram. What are you
- 54:03Speaker 3: talking about? I'm going to go like 12 years ago.
- 54:04Speaker 3: There are good people listening who know what I'm talking about.
- 54:06Speaker 3: A man who dressed up like Peter Pan.
- 54:08Speaker 2: Okay.
- 54:09Speaker 3: And he looks exactly like him.
- 54:10Speaker 2: Okay. Well, I don't know what you're talking about. Anyway,
- 54:13Speaker 2: Ramona on her 17th wedding anniversary decided to do a
- 54:19Speaker 2: big vow renewal.
- 54:20Speaker 3: I remember it.
- 54:21Speaker 2: And it was one of the, I think it was
- 54:22Speaker 2: the first vow renewals in the franchises. We have had
- 54:26Speaker 2: so many sets. Shannon, the door has done it. Vicki gun, gun,
- 54:29Speaker 2: Wilson has done it. Both are now divorced. Um, Oh God,
- 54:34Speaker 2: I know you guys are screaming them out as you're driving,
- 54:36Speaker 2: but there's been so many vow renewals. Um, I think
- 54:41Speaker 2: a vow renewal is really lovely, but it should be
- 54:44Speaker 2: only reserved for you, your spouse, and like just family,
- 54:49Speaker 2: like just your kids.
- 54:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree.
- 54:51Speaker 2: I think anything that's a bigger display of that, it's
- 54:54Speaker 2: not good vibes.
- 54:56Speaker 3: Right.
- 54:57Speaker 2: Because it's like people are sitting around going, really? Like
- 55:02Speaker 2: the amount of times I've heard a bitch about him. Oh,
- 55:04Speaker 2: they're so in love. Yeah, yeah. You know, like it's not.
- 55:08Speaker 2: It's different than a wedding because at a wedding you're like, oh.
- 55:11Speaker 3: If a guy had a party for his 20th anniversary
- 55:13Speaker 3: at his job, right, and he invited all of his
- 55:16Speaker 3: guy friends to come to the office, like I'm celebrating 20th.
- 55:19Speaker 3: The guys would be in the corner like, remember when
- 55:20Speaker 3: we went golfing and he was bitching about that supervisor?
- 55:23Speaker 3: It's the same thing.
- 55:24Speaker 2: It just doesn't work because at a wedding, because I
- 55:28Speaker 2: watch this whole thing and she comes out and they're
- 55:32Speaker 2: all cheering just like it's a wedding because she did
- 55:34Speaker 2: it like a wedding. And they're all cheering. But yet
- 55:36Speaker 2: they've been married for 17 years. And then Mario comes out.
- 55:39Speaker 3: 17 specifically.
- 55:40Speaker 2: And Mario comes out and he's like, like, I'm going
- 55:43Speaker 2: to get laid tonight for the first time. Like, it
- 55:45Speaker 2: was something. And I'm like, with a wedding, you're like,
- 55:49Speaker 2: even if you're not totally think this couple should get married,
- 55:54Speaker 2: you're hopeful. You're hopeful that they will have a wonderful
- 55:58Speaker 2: life together and you're happy to be there and it's beautiful. Like,
- 56:01Speaker 2: a vow renewal is so, like.
- 56:07Speaker 2: And that you'd invite your friend and spend the money.
- 56:09Speaker 3: I think it's obnoxious.
- 56:12Speaker 2: It should only be on reality TVs. It should never
- 56:15Speaker 2: be in real life. It should never happen in real life.
- 56:18Speaker 2: I have one friend back in the day. It was
- 56:21Speaker 2: her 10th wedding anniversary at our church. And they are
- 56:24Speaker 2: still married and they're lovely. And they had a little
- 56:26Speaker 2: thing and invited a few people to lunch after. And
- 56:30Speaker 2: he surprised her at the church. And the kids watched.
- 56:34Speaker 2: Like that, I feel like something like that is really cool.
- 56:38Speaker 3: Um, But that may have been part of that, too,
- 56:44Speaker 3: would have been the time where they started to get
- 56:45Speaker 3: a lot of free stuff. So maybe she thought, like,
- 56:47Speaker 3: I'm going to get a lot of free jewelry.
- 56:49Speaker 2: I think they had to spend it. And she was
- 56:52Speaker 2: smart to be like, you know, because in it she goes,
- 56:54Speaker 2: you know, how do you hold, like, renewal thing? I
- 56:57Speaker 2: cut my hair.
- 56:58Speaker 3: She was branding hardcore in that episode.
- 57:00Speaker 2: Yeah. And, like, the true faith jewelry.
- 57:02Speaker 3: True faith, renewal, renewal, skin. I'm a renewed person in friendships.
- 57:07Speaker 3: Remember that?
- 57:07Speaker 2: Yes. And it was just. It's just so– and then
- 57:11Speaker 2: it's sad because they got divorced. He cheated on her
- 57:14Speaker 2: and they got divorced.
- 57:14Speaker 3: Dorit could pull one of those with like the branding.
- 57:17Speaker 3: Maybe like she could pull this whole like I'm a
- 57:19Speaker 3: divorced woman thing. Well, I mean, listen.
- 57:22Speaker 2: Do I want to see– do I want to see
- 57:24Speaker 2: at home– A complete renewal of that. Oh, Lisa Vanderpump
- 57:30Speaker 2: did a vow renewal. They're still together. But I'd love
- 57:33Speaker 2: to see it for Dorit and PK. I'd love to
- 57:35Speaker 2: see it because it's fun to watch. It's fun to watch.
- 57:37Speaker 2: But I'm saying if you were really just going to
- 57:39Speaker 2: someone's house who was doing this.
- 57:42Speaker 3: Wait, what if?
- 57:43Speaker 2: And your fifth year old friend is in like a
- 57:44Speaker 2: white dress. I would die.
- 57:46Speaker 3: I would die. First of all.
- 57:47Speaker 2: Okay. So when we were doing After Lately, which was
- 57:49Speaker 2: a show we did on Chelsea lately that was, we
- 57:52Speaker 2: shot it like The Office and it was supposed to,
- 57:54Speaker 2: and we were all playing kind of exaggerated versions of ourselves.
- 57:57Speaker 2: I was so excited because the finale of the first
- 58:01Speaker 2: season was going to be, I'm having a vow renewal.
- 58:05Speaker 2: And I was so excited because I was all obsessed
- 58:07Speaker 2: with housewives at the time. And I was like, oh,
- 58:10Speaker 2: my God. And the kids are going to be there.
- 58:12Speaker 3: And I'm like.
- 58:13Speaker 2: Because I was just deciding to get into a dress
- 58:14Speaker 2: and get professional hair and makeup and have it filmed.
- 58:18Speaker 2: And then they're like, oh, the network said no. Because
- 58:23Speaker 2: it's taking us too much out of the office and
- 58:25Speaker 2: too much into your, like, personal life.
- 58:27Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 58:28Speaker 2: But, like, Chelsea and everybody wanted... They all thought it
- 58:30Speaker 2: was funny because, of course, the cast would be there
- 58:32Speaker 2: and I'm so obnoxious. My character is so obnoxious and, like, da-da-da.
- 58:35Speaker 5: So.
- 58:37Speaker 2: I was so bummed because I was already like, I'm
- 58:39Speaker 2: going to have three dresses and da-da-da-da. And then, you know,
- 58:44Speaker 2: now I'm like, I would never want to do this. No.
- 58:49Speaker 2: Unless it's on a TV show. Then I'll do it.
- 58:52Speaker 3: Yeah, outside of that, no way. What if PK and
- 58:55Speaker 3: Dorit are in a scene where they're, you know, talking
- 58:57Speaker 3: about their marriage problems and then boy George just walks
- 58:59Speaker 3: past singing that song, Do You Really Want to Hurt Me?
- 59:02Speaker 3: They don't utilize him enough. Where has he been?
- 59:04Speaker 2: Oh, well, I just saw PK post with him.
- 59:07Speaker 3: Oh, you did? Okay, good.
- 59:08Speaker 2: Some new tour is coming.
- 59:10Speaker 1: Oh, good.
- 59:11Speaker 2: And so, yeah, get ready.
- 59:14Speaker 3: Get ready.
- 59:15Speaker 2: But, oh my God, stop. Okay. What if Carlos King
- 59:20Speaker 2: is right?
- 59:22Speaker 3: It was a storyline.
- 59:23Speaker 2: And it is a storyline.
- 59:24Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 59:25Speaker 2: And they are cool with each other. And this gives
- 59:30Speaker 2: her a new arc of being the new Dorit of like,
- 59:34Speaker 2: you shut up, Kyle. And then they do next season
- 59:38Speaker 2: actually fall back in love and have the full wedding
- 59:45Speaker 2: vow renewal with the kids in it. Boy George performing.
- 59:50Speaker 3: Right. I think that's possible.
- 59:53Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 59:56Speaker 3: Do they do a double vow renewal with Kyle and Mauricio? Well,
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: maybe that's the whole season is that they're fighting. It's
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: like renewal wars.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: And like David Tutera comes and he plans one of
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: their weddings and the whole thing.
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: And then who deserves the renewal more and like who
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: really is going to make it work and then everyone
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: has to act like you've made it. It's just such
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: a weird thing to have people be like, I mean,
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: the only time I think is, like, if someone almost died. Yeah.
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: And then the other spouse, like, really, like, was there
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: for them. And then those, you know... Mm-hmm. I just
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: think it's weird that you're standing in front of, like,
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: your friends that have, like, seen you bitch and complain for, like,
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: 25 years. Like, it's just... Anyway, okay, so getting back to...
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: This is very sad news. Speaking of Real Housewives of
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: Beverly Hills. Brandi Glanville... Oh. chose to post a really
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: sad photo of herself. Brandi was on Real Housewives of
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: Beverly Hills for many years. You know she hasn't worked
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: in a while on any of the Bravo or any
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: other shows because she was suing Bravo. Her lawyer has
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: since dropped her, so she doesn't have any way to
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: go with the suit. She is not being sued, but
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: Caroline Manzo is suing Bravo for what she said happened
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: to her at the hands, literally the hands, of Brandi
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: Glanville on Ultimate Girls Trip Morocco, which we will never see.
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: And she said right around that time of these accusations,
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: which she claims it was innocent fun and there was
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: no way that Caroline at the time was disturbed, is
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: what she was saying, that she started to have these
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: adverse effects to her face. And so she said it
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: One doctor has said it's some parasite that jumps around
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: her face. Another person said it's some disease caused by
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: incredible stress. Oh, wow. And it's just really, really sad.
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: I feel really, really bad for her.
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: And, you know, I kind of brave that she showed it.
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: And I hope that her showing it will maybe get
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: an expert to help her and figure what this is.
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: I remember back in the day, she would break out.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: I remember there were episodes where she'd be like, I'm
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: so stressed about this thing that I've been picking up
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: my face. And one of the other housewives would be like,
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: stop it, stop it. You have to stop. That she
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: would break. So that always been a thing for her,
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: that her stress would show up physically.
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: It was awful.
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: But it really is.
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: I feel like there will be a doctor that is
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: generous enough to help.
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: Yeah, and then, you know, and then people are like, oh, it's...
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: And if you're the one that fixed the problem? It's
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: filler that, like, went away. I mean, I.
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: You know, you never really know unless you're in someone's
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: doctor's office.
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: What it really is. Or a plastic surgeon that can
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: figure it out and maybe dissolve the filler, give her
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: a facelift, do a thing, have her come out looking
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: like Lindsay Lohan. I don't know.
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: Lindsay Lohan looks great.
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: Yeah, so good.
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: She looks so good.
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: In Real Housewives of Potomac, there's one real juicy thing
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: that's happening.
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:03:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: There is a new girl, very pretty. She truly, she
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: looks like a Barbie, okay? Her name's Stacy. And she's
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: just like a, she probably was in pageants.
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: She was on QVC.
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: I know, but I think she probably did pageants before.
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: She's just like the most beautiful, like perfect thing. And
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: she's getting divorced from her husband. And has a daughter.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: And she's like, at QVC, I fell in love with
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: this guy. But he's a super Christian or whatever she
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: wants to say. And he's saving himself for marriage. And
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: he's pushing to be, I would think, at least 45,
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: if not 50. Okay. Are they trying to tell us
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: that he's never had sex? Or he won't have sex
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: with her until they're married?
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: Maybe that. That would seem extreme, being 45 to 50
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: and never having sex. That seems extreme.
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: I don't believe that she's a good enough actress that
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: the two of them got together and thought, here's a storyline.
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: This is an original storyline. There's been 169 housewives.
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: This is a storyline we've never seen where a woman
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: is dating a guy who clearly, A, is gay, or B,
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: not interested. And he's playing along for airtime himself.
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: Probably.
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: And- Because I don't even think they have great chemistry
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: as platonic friends. Like he doesn't even really like her.
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: They go to this– he kind of is a dick.
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: So they go to this one party that the other
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: girl has, the professor, who gave up being a professor. Wendy.
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: Because the minute she's got to be a housewife, she's like,
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: fuck grading papers.
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: No kidding. I get it.
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: And she throws a party that that must have cost $ 50, 000, $ 60, 000.
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: She throws this beautiful party for her birthday. her 40th birthday,
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: which we've celebrated for the last eight episodes. And she
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: comes there and this girl, Stacy and her gay Christian husband,
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: whatever comes boyfriend. And he on camera, he's like, really?
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: He totally ignored me. Like he's giving her that attitude.
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: And they're sitting at the table and she's like, what
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: are you talking about? And he's like, you know what
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: you're doing? You know what you're doing? Not cool or whatever.
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: Like being like a mean dick. And he's not fucking her.
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: I'd be like, what? Yeah.
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: It sounds like he likes to be on TV.
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: But without this, she's just kind of like an annoying dork. Okay.
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: So she's clinging on.
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: But this is an interesting, juicy storyline. Because, you know,
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: Giselle has like faked relationships and stuff. But this one
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: is just, this is a fun, weird one to watch.
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: So are they going to come back?
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: I don't know. But, you know, that's the thing. Like,
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: we do, as the women that watch Housewives, we like
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: to see romantic relationships, too. Whether they're horrible marriages, good marriages,
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: or a new budding thing. The fact that all of
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: Beverly Hills is single now.
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: Right? Not one is married.
- 1:06:17Speaker 5: No.
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: Not one is currently with their husband.
- 1:06:19Speaker 5: No.
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: Every single one is single. The new girl, Boze, is
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: a widow.
- 1:06:24Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: And she's got a cute daughter. They showed her in
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: a call. But right now they're either separated, single. Yeah,
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: they're all single. But there's enough going on that I
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: like watching them. But it is the things that get
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: us talking are dissecting.
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: Like a relationship. By the way, I think people would
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: want to see Dorit dating, don't you think?
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I want her to Lauren Sanchez it and get
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: someone real rich.
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: Well, I'm just like thinking about her on a date
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: because she doesn't listen that well.
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: You know? Like, some of these dudes are going to
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: be like, okay. Like, it's got to be about me
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: a little bit.
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right.
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: You know what?
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: I do think she might have trouble.
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: She's going to have trouble.
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: Because she's also not, like, she's good looking. But she
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: comes off, she doesn't come off very sexual. No. You
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: know what I mean?
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: Do you have friends, like, I have friends that I...
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: I think they have velvet vaginas because every man they
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: ever date.
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: I call it a Venus flytrap vagina. Yeah.
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: Like every guy they've ever been with still writes them
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: and calls them. They can't get them out of their mind.
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: I don't know if she'd be in that category.
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: Some people I think are born with it.
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: My sister has that.
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: And it comes... It's just a natural thing.
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: And it's not based on how beautiful they are or whatever.
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: They've just got that thing. They've got it.
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: Yeah, they got it.
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: And then I think there's other girls that really are
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: great in the sack and really do, you know, act like,
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: like the only thing that's feeding their soul is that
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: man's penis and they can't get enough of it. And they,
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: they know, and then sometimes women know to do that.
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: Like they, they're like, get what you know, you know
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: how you, you know, my grandmother taught me, you know, you,
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: you get more with sugar than whatever. And, um, and like,
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: you know, that whole thing. And I think some women are,
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: either were taught it by their mom or they learned
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: it on their own. And it just comes very natural.
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: All my mom taught me was never pay for a
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: man's education.
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: Don't pay for it.
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: Don't pay for it. Like she never gave me advice about.
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: Why would you be paying for anyone's education? That's so weird.
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: Because she had a, she had a boyfriend. She was
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: like paying his tuition and she was like still pissed
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: about it. But she never gave me any advice about
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: like netting a guy or anything. And then when we,
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: I would introduce her to men. She'd just be like,
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: I guess he's fine.
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: She's very cold. Yeah, yeah I had I've had friends
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: that like their moms I think kind of taught them
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: yeah like like a big Kathy Hilton you know like
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: this is how you you know when I interviewed Kyle
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: it was a really good interview it was years ago
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: and she said my mom taught me to make sure
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: that your home was the nicest place your husband had
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: been all day And I was like, well, that's a
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: lot since your husband's a realtor and in mansions.
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: No kidding.
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: The point was, you light the candles, you have something cooking,
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: it's relaxing, and you're like a 1950s. Have you ever
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: looked at those old-fashioned 1950s? How to make sure you
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: put on your hair and makeup and you have a
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: martini waiting for him and offer to take off his
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: slippers or shoes and bring all these things. And that's
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: the way you keep your man happy.
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: Very indicative of the time.
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: Yeah, and I feel like when she said that, I
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: was like, oh, I never thought of that.
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: Which is probably why she's separated, because she's like, I'm
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: sick of lighting the candles and making stew on the stove. Like,
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: what are you doing for me?
- 1:10:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: You know, that gets kind of old after a while.
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: Right. And then I also think the being sober, too.
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: I think the whole.
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: I think when, you know, this whole thing of when
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: people get, like, close to middle age or 50... And
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: they give up this this thing that was such a
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: big part of their life or what they did with
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: their spouse, which is having cocktails, drinking, partying, whatever. And
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: one stops and they're like, no, I don't care that
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: you have a drink. But then they are they have
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: their own like awakening journey.
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: Well, she's probably thinking I'm accommodated you and your needs
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: for too long. And now it's a time that I
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: do something for myself. Also, her kids are growing up,
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: and there are a lot of people, I think. My
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: sister's a little bit older than me, and I feel
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: like her friends are all kind of splitting now. It's
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: just because my sister's kids are in college now.
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, it's a time to do it. And,
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: you know, listen, I have friends that are dating that
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: are our age, and they are having a wonderful time.
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: Oh, there's no one hornier than a woman ovulating or
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: newly divorced.
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: No one hornier.
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: I feel like friends come to me who are getting
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: a divorce.
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: I feel like people are seeing good guys out there.
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: You're going to have so much fun. You're going to
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: kill the game.
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: When I look at someone's Raya or whatever they're on
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: that are my age, I'm like, this is good.
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: I want to hear all the stories.
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: And then there's that new show on Netflix that Michelle
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: Obama is producing. Later Daters. Yeah, my friend was watching
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: it and she's like, you've got to watch it. It's good.
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: Have you watched it?
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: I've started to watch it. It's good.
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: Okay, I got to see it, yeah.
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: Yeah, no, my sister, when she got divorced, I felt
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: like her life was set on fire.
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: I get why someone wants to try it, but then
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: be able to bounce back.
- 1:11:53Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: Like when we get to a place of like AI
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: where I can just like enter another dimension and then
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: I could just go and date for just like maybe
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: a few months. Yeah. But then I can just still
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: just come back to like my old life. Like I'm
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: not giving it up completely. And I think when people
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: think that they can do that, like a Kyle, but
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: you can't because someone is going to catch feelings for
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: somebody else and it's going to be very, you're not
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: going to come back better than, Because your dick was
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: in somebody else for a bunch of times.
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: Maybe that's tricky. I was thinking about when I dated
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: when I moved to L.A. and I met my husband
- 1:12:30Speaker 3: on Match.com. But one of the dates that I went on,
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: I had the greatest time talking to him. But I
- 1:12:35Speaker 3: realized halfway through the date that he grew up in
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: a cult because, you know me, I've watched every cult documentary.
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: So he's like, I have a lot of half siblings.
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: I've lived all over the world. And at one point
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: I went, did you grow up in Children of God,
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: which was the Joaquin Phoenix family? And he goes, oh,
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: my God, you did, too. I said, no, I've watched
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: a lot of 48 hours. But then I stayed an
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: extra hour to ask him all about being in the cold.
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: And then, of course, I didn't want to go out again.
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: But I'm like, this could be hard. If you're, like,
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: someone who's a good listener, dating could be tricky. Because
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: you could find yourself talking to someone way too long
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: who you have no interest in, like, actually moving forward with.
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:13:11Speaker 3: So you have to be very, very careful about your time. Like,
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: you've got to give it a short window. You've got
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: to meet somewhere. Like, I would always meet at a
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: bar where, like, my friends were next door. So I had, like,
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: an out. You know, like an easy out.
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: I did it before all that stuff. And I just
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: would say yes so that I could get a meal.
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: And I got, I got full meal. I got an appetizer,
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: a salad. Right. I would like be starving. Like I'd purposely.
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: Would you get like a creme brulee the whole game?
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: I wasn't, I never dessert, but I was very into
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: like an app salad. And then I always do, I
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: would never do like a pasta. I would always do
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: like a salmon and, or like, you know, steak or something.
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: And then, um, I wouldn't do like a doggy bag,
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: but I would definitely like, I could like eat a lot,
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: you know? And then I just remember like, if, if
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: a guy was weird about the salad part, like, Oh,
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: you're getting another thing. I was like, well, this is
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: going to be a problem. But I am going to
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: still order it.
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: So, like, he's talking about his work life. And you're like,
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: hang on. The waitress comes over. And you're like, what
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: are those specials again? Can you run through those a
- 1:14:16Speaker 3: couple more times?
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: Yeah. I was really about eating. Yeah.
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: Well, because we didn't have a lot of money back then.
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: I remember going to, like, whatever the hot, hot spot was.
- 1:14:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: Like, we'd be in, like, Venice Beach. It was a
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: hot spot. And it would be, like, there'd be people
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: that could, there's music playing and stuff. And I'd look
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: and I'd see people eating. Like, they got dinner. They
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: got a table.
- 1:14:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: And I was just like, one day. One day I'll
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: be able to come to a place like this and
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: actually eat.
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: Yeah, right.
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: Because I am just here with only $ 20 in my pocket.
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: I'd buy my first drink myself.
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: And then somebody else would buy the rest of the drinks.
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: I'd either give out my number to like date somebody
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: or I'd collect numbers to invite to my stand-up show.
- 1:15:00Speaker 5: Smart.
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: Because I need to bring like seven people.
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: And just every... it was always just like, it was
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: always just, did I accomplish anything tonight? Right. And it's
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: just nice to be at a place where I can
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: just eat and drink and I don't have to meet
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: anybody and I don't have to invite anybody. And I
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: already say that to Peter.
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: I got to tell you, I just want to, you know,
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: I really appreciate the fact that I don't have to
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: ask for numbers to get someone to take me out
- 1:15:25Speaker 3: for multi, you know, yeah. Time meals.
- 1:15:28Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: I mean, that's the thing. Like I, when I'm kind
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: of like, Oh, that's, you know, that's exciting. I'm also like,
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: That's why whenever I watch Love is Blind and stuff,
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: I'm like, I should be more appreciative because all these
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: people are doing are just like, I'll be watching Love
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: is Blind with Peter sitting there and we're laughing about it.
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: And I'm like, all these people want is to find
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: someone to sit down and watch Love is Blind with.
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: That's all they want.
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: That's true.
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: And I have that. I feel like married people need
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: to appreciate their.
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: Lives way more. And we all exaggerate when we're dating.
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: I said I was spontaneous and I like to travel
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: and cook.
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: Whatever. Whatever.
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: Uber eats and i'm at home give me a break
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: like yeah you're the exaggerated version of.
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: Yourself on our first date peter said um anyway so
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: i travel a lot for work because he did at
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: the time he goes um he goes do you like
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: do you like to fly first class what he said
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: that yeah he goes do you like like a question
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: like do you like to fly first.
- 1:16:23Speaker 3: Class tinder swindler.
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: And i go well i never have and he goes
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: oh oh anyway you know And I always joke how
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: like that was like such like a hook. Yes. And
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: then I, our first trip like on a plane was
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: our honeymoon and it was first class. Okay.
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: Where did you guys go for your honeymoon?
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: We went to the Cayman Islands and I remember like
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: the guy was dropping us off and the guy goes
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: first in the first class and I go, no. And
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: he goes, yes. And I was like, And that was
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: pre 9-11. So it was like even better. Like it
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: was like real everything. And like it was just anyway.
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: And then my last thing is now with this girl, Hannah,
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: who's now the missing girl, who's unfortunately after she vanished
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: for two weeks, her husband, I'm sorry, her father ended
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: his life because he thought she was missing. She has
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: been found. She's in Mexico. This was a really weird thing.
- 1:17:20Speaker 3: She hasn't been found.
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: Well, she'd been found going to Mexico.
- 1:17:24Speaker 3: They have video footage of her crossing the border on
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: November 12th or 13th.
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: Well, here's another weird story from New York Post that
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: came out a couple days ago. The mystery man who
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: spent nine hours with her before she vanished told investigators
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: that she was a free spirit, but otherwise seemed completely normal,
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: according to the report, the day before she walked into Mexico.
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: he said that she and he bumped into each other
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: outside of L.A., and then they walked through downtown L.A.
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: together and, like, enjoyed this lovely time together. I'm like,
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: this is the weirdest story. This sounds like a romantic comedy. Also,
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: downtown L.A. is not near LAX. No, it's not. So
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: that means you met at LAX, and then you were like, hey,
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: want to hang out and, like, look at art in
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: downtown L.A.? Like, what?
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: What?
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: This story is so strange.
- 1:18:22Speaker 3: I think she got off the plane. She met somebody.
- 1:18:26Speaker 3: And I think the scary thing is if you are
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: someone who's wearing a backpack with headphones on, you're a
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: moving target. If you're somewhat naive and if you meet
- 1:18:36Speaker 3: the wrong person, next thing you know, like you're talking
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: to them and then maybe you're not in public and
- 1:18:43Speaker 3: they get access to your phone and They're texting on
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: your behalf or convincing you to do things.
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: If we're ever going to find out what happened to her.
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: But I think seeing her cross the border in Mexico
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: doesn't strike me as like she's trying to escape everyone.
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: I feel like if you didn't take your connecting flight,
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: you may have sat at the bar next to someone
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: and they convince you like, Let's go into L.A. And
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: why would somebody who doesn't know anything about L.A. would
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: go to downtown L.A.? Like, it just doesn't add up
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: to me.
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: Well, I mean, there's cameras everywhere, so she really must
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: have gone on, like, this weird date with this guy.
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: Yeah, she went to the Grove.
- 1:19:22Speaker 4: I mean.
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: It's very strange.
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: Tell us, Kate, what you have going on over there
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: at Reality Life with Kate Casey.
- 1:19:32Speaker 3: Well, okay, so... Every Monday, I tell people what to watch.
- 1:19:36Speaker 3: And then Tuesday through Friday, I'm interviewing a lot of
- 1:19:39Speaker 3: directors of documentaries, docu-series, talent on reality shows, anybody on
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: unscripted TV. I'm truly obsessed with people and their stories.
- 1:19:48Speaker 3: So it could be, like, tomorrow's episode is about NFL
- 1:19:52Speaker 3: football and hard knocks. I've got a behind-the-scenes with the
- 1:19:55Speaker 3: editors of the Dallas Cowboys show about how that show
- 1:19:58Speaker 3: was all made.
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: The cheerleading one?
- 1:20:01Speaker 3: The cheerleading one, which was really cool.
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: But then.
- 1:20:04Speaker 3: like I'll have somebody from Southern charm, but, and then
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: every Saturday I have a Saturday series where I interview
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: people who I think have cool stories. And I started
- 1:20:12Speaker 3: doing that because I was telling more of my personal story.
- 1:20:15Speaker 3: I felt like after 600 episodes, like maybe I should
- 1:20:17Speaker 3: tell people a little about me. And I kind of
- 1:20:20Speaker 3: like led people through my story. And then I started
- 1:20:23Speaker 3: just interviewing people that I come across who have like
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: just stories that should be on documentaries, but may not
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: ever be featured. So, um, Yeah, I'm always interviewing people.
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: So what is something? What's a juicy doc or show
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: that we should be watching?
- 1:20:41Speaker 3: Okay, well, give me a topic and I'll tell you.
- 1:20:43Speaker 3: Because I literally cover sports, cults, romance, anything. I always
- 1:20:50Speaker 3: say one of my favorite true crime docs is Murder
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: on Middle Beach, which was on HBO in 2010.
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: I loved that one.
- 1:20:55Speaker 3: Or 2020.
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: Is there a new one?
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: No, but I really liked that one because this young
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: man's mom was murdered and found on The Front Lawn
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: and the whole doc series.
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: And she was like involved in like a shady MLM. Right.
- 1:21:08Speaker 3: And her relationship with her ex-husband.
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: Yeah, that is a good one.
- 1:21:11Speaker 3: That's always a good one. There's a really good cult
- 1:21:13Speaker 3: one called Holy Hell. You know this one. Where the
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: cult leader was a man named Michelle who convinced all
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: of these people in the 80s and early 90s to
- 1:21:23Speaker 3: move to this compound or this spot in Texas and
- 1:21:28Speaker 3: like give up all their stuff and like they would
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: all live together on this commune. But the thing was,
- 1:21:33Speaker 3: he would make them all perform dance routines for like hours.
- 1:21:37Speaker 3: So like you and I, like never having a dance background,
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: would be put in leotards and like practice for hours
- 1:21:42Speaker 3: for a show where he was the lead performer to
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: an audience of no one. I mean, everything is insane.
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: How long has that gone for? Oh, years.
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: And there was one guy named Will and he had
- 1:21:53Speaker 3: a camera and he filmed all for years and years
- 1:21:56Speaker 3: and years. So you see archival footage.
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: Where could I watch the Holy Hell?
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: Amazon Prime.
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: Oh, my God. Amazing. No, it is.
- 1:22:03Speaker 3: And what I mean for Colt, you know, I've seen
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: them all. I'm like that one. I just I can
- 1:22:08Speaker 3: never get over.
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: OK, that I got to watch.
- 1:22:10Speaker 3: The other one I think you did not watch, but
- 1:22:13Speaker 3: I thought was really good was a reality show on
- 1:22:15Speaker 3: Peacock called Love Undercover. And that was a bunch of
- 1:22:19Speaker 3: major soccer stars in Europe. And they told these American
- 1:22:24Speaker 3: women that it was going to kind of be like
- 1:22:25Speaker 3: The Bachelor. Like, you search for love throughout the country.
- 1:22:28Speaker 3: You can't find it. We're going to help you out.
- 1:22:30Speaker 3: We brought in these guys from the UK. So they
- 1:22:33Speaker 3: meet them and they're all kind of snarky about them. Like,
- 1:22:35Speaker 3: he's not that hot. And he's just a trainer. Like,
- 1:22:39Speaker 3: I've got a lifestyle that I need. And meanwhile, they'll
- 1:22:42Speaker 3: have like 30,000 followers. Like, nothing like totally crazy. What
- 1:22:45Speaker 3: they don't know is they're all international soccer stars. So
- 1:22:48Speaker 3: they're pretending like, One pretends he's in construction, but he's
- 1:22:52Speaker 3: got 4 million followers on Instagram. And he's rich. He's rich.
- 1:22:57Speaker 3: So you see throughout the process where they have no idea.
- 1:23:01Speaker 3: And so the guys are all in on the secret
- 1:23:03Speaker 3: together of like they all know they're soccer players, but
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: the American women have no idea. So in the end,
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: it's sort of like the guys get along so well
- 1:23:12Speaker 3: and they're so funny. It's sort of like the Golden Bachelor,
- 1:23:15Speaker 3: how all the men get along really well when they're
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: living in like pottery barn beds back at the mansion.
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: It's the same thing with this one show, but the
- 1:23:22Speaker 3: hilarity of them having no idea that these guys are
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: really successful. And then when they find out. Because they're like, OK,
- 1:23:30Speaker 3: I've got something to tell you. Like maybe they're breaking
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: up with them.
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: OK, those are good.
- 1:23:33Speaker 3: And some of the women are like, I'm sorry, what?
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: And then one woman goes out with this one guy
- 1:23:39Speaker 3: who's actually a Mexican Olympic soccer star. And the funny
- 1:23:44Speaker 3: thing is they go out in L.A. to a park.
- 1:23:47Speaker 3: So people are going, Marco, Marco. And he's like, oh,
- 1:23:50Speaker 3: my God, like. And somebody kicks him a ball, but
- 1:23:53Speaker 3: he freaks out because the ball's coming to him. And
- 1:23:54Speaker 3: he's like, I can't, like, kick it up and make
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: it look like. So he, like, reaches down and picks
- 1:23:59Speaker 3: up the ball with his hands, like, just to throw
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: her off. But, yeah, these women know nothing about soccer.
- 1:24:06Speaker 3: So it's kind of amazing.
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: That is good. Okay. Now we have some good things
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: to watch.
- 1:24:10Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: Everybody. And then, of course, follow me, Heather McDonald. Follow
