- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome to Deeply Well. This show is a soft place.
- 0:08Speaker 2: To land on your journey, a.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Space where we explore what it truly means to live
- 0:14Speaker 1: well from the inside out, not perfectly, but honestly, with
- 0:20Speaker 1: all the complexity, the paradox, the beauty, and the wonder
- 0:24Speaker 1: of being human. Because in a world that is constantly
- 0:28Speaker 1: pulling at us, this is the space to come back
- 0:31Speaker 1: to yourself, to.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Your body, your truth, to the practices.
- 0:36Speaker 1: That genuinely sustain you, the ones that work when life
- 0:40Speaker 1: is actually happening. This show is for the seekers, the creatives,
- 0:46Speaker 1: the sensitive ones, for everyone doing the quiet, courageous work
- 0:52Speaker 1: of becoming whole. This is Deeply Well. Welcome back to Well.
- 1:00Speaker 1: I'm Debbie Brown. I am so grateful you're here, and
- 1:04Speaker 1: wherever this conversation finds you today, I hope that you
- 1:07Speaker 1: can receive it as an invitation to slow down, to reconnect,
- 1:12Speaker 1: and to become a little more present with yourself.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Life is hard.
- 1:19Speaker 1: That is like a sentence I'm leading with in everything lately.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Life is hard, and I think that's a given for everyone,
- 1:27Speaker 1: even on the best day.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Right Earth is a lot.
- 1:31Speaker 1: So my intention always with this show, whether we are
- 1:34Speaker 1: talking to you know an amazing person. Whether we're diving
- 1:38Speaker 1: into some of my experiences, whether we're processing flowing any
- 1:42Speaker 1: of it, it's to help relieve some of the inner
- 1:46Speaker 1: suffering that we all carry being alive and make it
- 1:50Speaker 1: feel joyful, worth it, fine, enthusiasm where it's present, and
- 1:57Speaker 1: more than anything, just self actualized to the best of
- 2:00Speaker 1: our ability. Okay, today's episode is inspired by two experiences
- 2:05Speaker 1: that I had that, although very different, I felt beautifully
- 2:10Speaker 1: compliment one another and also provided some interesting contrasts for me.
- 2:15Speaker 2: So I want to invite you into this experience that
- 2:17Speaker 2: I have. If you are a.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Listener of the show, you know I have talked about
- 2:22Speaker 1: living with chronic pain conditions and living with an autoimmune condition.
- 2:28Speaker 1: And so for all of my chronic pain girlies out there,
- 2:31Speaker 1: or anyone who is just kind of discovering their health,
- 2:35Speaker 1: maybe suffering with their health right now, or looking to
- 2:39Speaker 1: implement practices of longevity so that for the length of
- 2:43Speaker 1: your life you can continue to nourish yourself and feel
- 2:48Speaker 1: like yourself, this episode.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Is for you.
- 2:51Speaker 1: I had an experience that I've never done before. I
- 2:54Speaker 1: am somebody that if you have not picked this up
- 2:57Speaker 1: from the show or my Instagram. I have been biohacking
- 3:01Speaker 1: all the things. I would say somewhere around what year
- 3:06Speaker 1: is it like, maybe fourteen years. I used to have,
- 3:11Speaker 1: you know, an opportunity to get a lot of frontline resources.
- 3:16Speaker 1: I was connected to the athletic world, to the NFL
- 3:19Speaker 1: world many years ago, and from that I learned so
- 3:22Speaker 1: much about bodies and my bodies, and I was getting
- 3:25Speaker 1: testing done back then that I didn't know eventually would
- 3:29Speaker 1: become you know, some of the pillars of the longevity
- 3:33Speaker 1: work that's available now. So it's been incredible really watching
- 3:37Speaker 1: that industry grow and watching my own connection to my
- 3:41Speaker 1: health and my self advocacy for my health has grown.
- 3:44Speaker 1: For anyone that has a chronic pain condition or something
- 3:51Speaker 1: that you've been trying to understand. I also have this
- 3:54Speaker 1: experience having ADHD, and you know, it taking my.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Whole life to figure that out.
- 3:59Speaker 1: But if you've been on one of those searches of
- 4:01Speaker 1: trying to understand your inner working and you're inner wiring, one,
- 4:07Speaker 1: you know it's been a journey, a lifelong journey, and
- 4:11Speaker 1: two you've probably realized that you either get absolutely exhausted
- 4:19Speaker 1: trying to explain yourself to doctors or to various practitioners,
- 4:25Speaker 1: or you become really a master of your personal domain
- 4:29Speaker 1: and you're coming in and able to really advocate with
- 4:33Speaker 1: a lot of power, with a lot of authenticity, and
- 4:36Speaker 1: you have your receipts, and so it's interesting living that
- 4:39Speaker 1: life and those that live it, you know exactly.
- 4:42Speaker 2: What I'm saying.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Sometimes you walk in with doctors and they're kind of
- 4:46Speaker 1: annoyed that you know so much about yourself and looking
- 4:49Speaker 1: to kind of counteract your intuition or the understandings that
- 4:55Speaker 1: you've come through or not listen. And sometimes you're blessed
- 4:59Speaker 1: with doctors that are fascinated about the work that they
- 5:02Speaker 1: do and they're always looking to learn and find solutions
- 5:06Speaker 1: and collaborate with patients. But you never quite know what
- 5:09Speaker 1: you're going to get. So as I get ready to
- 5:11Speaker 1: share this experience that I had, I'm kind of giving
- 5:14Speaker 1: you the big lead in because I found that I
- 5:18Speaker 1: had the opportunity to really be disarmed and this experience
- 5:24Speaker 1: that I had and really be nourished and changed.
- 5:27Speaker 2: By the experience that I had.
- 5:30Speaker 1: And so I want to invite you to learn about
- 5:32Speaker 1: this with me, but then to also find a way
- 5:35Speaker 1: to if it resonates see how you may be able
- 5:39Speaker 1: to bring it to life in your world. So I
- 5:42Speaker 1: recently this past week for several days. If you watch
- 5:44Speaker 1: my stories, you saw some wild things. I recently returned
- 5:48Speaker 1: from spending several days at the Shaw Wellness Clinic in Cancun, Mexico.
- 5:54Speaker 1: So Shaw Wellness, that's Sha Wellness is a space that's
- 5:59Speaker 1: dedicated to the inner of modern medicine, holistic therapies, nutrition,
- 6:04Speaker 1: mindfulness and longevity. And my experience there was really a
- 6:09Speaker 1: reminder that well being is never something that we just
- 6:14Speaker 1: stumble upon.
- 6:15Speaker 2: It's something that you.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Have to really intentionally cultivate through the environment that we create,
- 6:22Speaker 1: the habits that we practice, and the relationship that is
- 6:25Speaker 1: ever growing that we have with ourselves and our bodies.
- 6:28Speaker 1: We're also entering the annual lions Gate Portal My God
- 6:33Speaker 1: and a whole lot of supercharged astrology for August twenty
- 6:37Speaker 1: twenty six. I am an astrology girly. I have been
- 6:42Speaker 1: obsessed with astrology since I was a child, but very
- 6:45Speaker 1: actively studying it since right around eighteen or nineteen, when
- 6:49Speaker 1: I had my first big birth chart in depth birth chart.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Reading twenty three years ago. Yikes.
- 6:59Speaker 1: And so this time of year I've always found that
- 7:01Speaker 1: I naturally gravitate to summer being pretty potent for me,
- 7:07Speaker 1: pretty magnetic.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Usually deeply healing.
- 7:10Speaker 1: July tends to be a little tumultuous, which this year
- 7:14Speaker 1: it was too in mercury retrograde. Whooped that ass, my god.
- 7:21Speaker 2: But I always feel this. I always thought it was.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Due to my birthday in June and that kind of
- 7:26Speaker 1: solar return portal, you know, kind of happening. But August
- 7:33Speaker 1: is that girl like August is so potent astrologically for
- 7:40Speaker 1: all the transformation, the potential of all the transformation that
- 7:44Speaker 1: can take place throughout the whole year. And I found
- 7:47Speaker 1: that most specifically whenever I work with the annual Lionsgate portal,
- 7:53Speaker 1: big release and big magic tends to happen in my life.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Just really in the way I invite everyone to use astrology,
- 8:00Speaker 1: whether you're super into it like some of us, or
- 8:03Speaker 1: just kind of you know, just looking on the outside
- 8:06Speaker 1: at your son's sign, or not into it at all.
- 8:11Speaker 1: You know, the magic is in your own self inquiry.
- 8:15Speaker 1: That's what I found when it comes to astrology. It's
- 8:19Speaker 1: reading what the potential of the energy is and finding
- 8:23Speaker 1: a way to maximize it. For yourself, and sometimes that
- 8:25Speaker 1: means maximizing the grief because you can read in the
- 8:29Speaker 1: transits or the astrology that perhaps you know what you
- 8:32Speaker 1: could judge as a rough periodist coming up. And then
- 8:35Speaker 1: it's saying, how do I dive into that more deeply?
- 8:38Speaker 1: How do I use you know, this energy to really
- 8:41Speaker 1: think about myself and my life and what can be
- 8:44Speaker 1: transformed and surrender to it. And then you have periods
- 8:47Speaker 1: of astrology a lot like was what is happening in
- 8:50Speaker 1: many ways this month that also lean into you know,
- 8:54Speaker 1: what is the possibility for the power in my life?
- 8:58Speaker 1: Something I want to avoid as I talk about this
- 9:00Speaker 1: astrology and eventually I want to talk about it in
- 9:02Speaker 1: another episode. Please don't set intentions around being or feeling seen.
- 9:08Speaker 1: That's my personal urge and directive for each one. I
- 9:12Speaker 1: think everyone is overly obsessed. I just hear it everywhere
- 9:16Speaker 1: all the time, being seen. I want to be seen,
- 9:20Speaker 1: and I really invite everyone what does that actually mean
- 9:23Speaker 1: to you and what is it that you think is unseen?
- 9:26Speaker 1: I've explored this a little bit on the show in
- 9:28Speaker 1: the past, but it feels really resonant right now because
- 9:30Speaker 1: I think a lot of people are really giving away
- 9:34Speaker 1: their power by searching for this idea, this belief that
- 9:40Speaker 1: everyone can fully see you or that's even how it's
- 9:43Speaker 1: designed to be. And I just really urge people to connect, like,
- 9:47Speaker 1: what are you really longing for? And when did that
- 9:49Speaker 1: longing start? What version of you do you need to
- 9:52Speaker 1: send a little more love to that felt unseen, maybe
- 9:55Speaker 1: in your own household, because the greater world is never
- 9:59Speaker 1: going to be meet that need for any of us.
- 10:02Speaker 1: I've met so many people on such spectrums of quote
- 10:07Speaker 1: unquote being seen from the biggest superstars imaginable to you know,
- 10:13Speaker 1: just us every day folks, you know, doing doing whatever
- 10:17Speaker 1: needs to be done. But no matter where you land,
- 10:22Speaker 1: absolutely no one has a sense that you're seen in
- 10:26Speaker 1: a way that repairs everything else in your life just
- 10:31Speaker 1: by that. Sometimes there is a deeper desire to be witnessed,
- 10:35Speaker 1: to be appreciated at work, to be appreciated in your household.
- 10:40Speaker 1: But I think it's so important that we don't outsource
- 10:43Speaker 1: our power by saying that the only way to meet
- 10:47Speaker 1: that need is through the gaze of another person or
- 10:50Speaker 1: through the validation of another person. So if that is
- 10:54Speaker 1: a theme that is coming up for you as you
- 10:56Speaker 1: hear this one. I recognize there may be some ch
- 11:00Speaker 1: and even hearing me say this, but investigate what the
- 11:03Speaker 1: need actually is and what you think you'll feel and
- 11:09Speaker 1: receive when you are quote unquote seen and what see?
- 11:15Speaker 1: What is the definition for that? How are you defining
- 11:18Speaker 1: that word?
- 11:19Speaker 2: See? N scene?
- 11:23Speaker 1: What is under that umbrella? What is the descriptive of that?
- 11:26Speaker 1: That feels like that's what the cure is for you?
- 11:31Speaker 1: I'm just seeing it everywhere, And I think it's so
- 11:33Speaker 1: important to talk about because you're wasting time. No one
- 11:37Speaker 1: is ever going to fully see you like most of
- 11:40Speaker 1: your parents don't, most of your family members don't. Like
- 11:42Speaker 1: this is life, this is the human experience. But do
- 11:46Speaker 1: you see you?
- 11:48Speaker 2: You know, I've had many seasons of.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Feeling that in terms of like work I've done, not
- 11:56Speaker 1: maybe being received or recognized, And okay, so it's on
- 12:02Speaker 1: God's time. You still got to do it. You still
- 12:05Speaker 1: got to be the good person even if no one notices.
- 12:07Speaker 1: You still got to do the work. Even if no
- 12:09Speaker 1: one notices whatever your work is, you still got to
- 12:12Speaker 1: show up as who you say.
- 12:14Speaker 2: You are even if no one notices.
- 12:16Speaker 1: And usually what I find is the shifting is you
- 12:21Speaker 1: create the boundaries up against the people, the situations, the
- 12:27Speaker 1: circumstances in your life where you are feeling small, and
- 12:30Speaker 1: you open yourself to the possibility and potential of being
- 12:34Speaker 1: in new environments and you do the regulating work necessary
- 12:38Speaker 1: to exist in those environments, and then you feel more
- 12:42Speaker 1: equally yoked and you can see another and they can
- 12:45Speaker 1: see you, and there's a resonance, and so you feel
- 12:48Speaker 1: a little more full, you feel a little more understood.
- 12:52Speaker 1: But being understood, feeling seen, being validated, it really is
- 13:00Speaker 1: is always inside work. There is no way to cheat that.
- 13:07Speaker 1: There is no one person to give that to you
- 13:09Speaker 1: to make it all make sense. And so I don't
- 13:12Speaker 1: know why I just felt led to go into.
- 13:14Speaker 2: That whole little spiel, But Okay, it's.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Just something that I'm seeing around and I want us
- 13:23Speaker 1: to collectively watch that and ask questions about what the
- 13:26Speaker 1: feeling really is and how we can meet that need.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Because who do you think is looking?
- 13:31Speaker 1: Like?
- 13:31Speaker 2: Who is looking?
- 13:33Speaker 1: And what are these people going to do to you?
- 13:35Speaker 1: Just like what are you doing for the people that
- 13:37Speaker 1: you're looking at? What do you think that means? Like,
- 13:40Speaker 1: it's crazy, who's looking? Nobody is looking, You're looking.
- 13:47Speaker 2: I'm just seeing.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Most especially, I'm seeing so many people that most would
- 13:54Speaker 1: consider as being seen or having been seen, that are
- 14:01Speaker 1: saying that, and that are operating from that place, and
- 14:04Speaker 1: that is a place of lack. Who is it that
- 14:08Speaker 1: is worthy enough to bestow this upon you to make you.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Feel good about it?
- 14:12Speaker 1: It's important to ask that question, and why would you
- 14:16Speaker 1: outsource the entirety of your power and potential into that
- 14:20Speaker 1: person to validate who and what you are? And what
- 14:24Speaker 1: do you even know about them?
- 14:27Speaker 2: Yeah? All right, I went there? Who knows?
- 14:29Speaker 1: So back to Lion's the gate working with this energy,
- 14:33Speaker 1: and that might be something you want to surrender in
- 14:35Speaker 1: this astrology, this is a period of time that many
- 14:39Speaker 1: people recognize as an opportunity for reflection, for courage, for intention,
- 14:45Speaker 1: and definitely for personal alignment. So, whether you approach it
- 14:49Speaker 1: from a spiritualist, symbolic or just simply a reflective perspective,
- 14:54Speaker 1: I believe that moments like this can really serve as
- 14:56Speaker 1: powerful invitations to pause, to edit, to evaluate where we are,
- 15:02Speaker 1: and to consciously choose or recommit to where we are headed.
- 15:08Speaker 1: So today I want to share a few reflections. First
- 15:11Speaker 1: that I had it with my time at Shaw Wellness
- 15:14Speaker 1: and explore what the Lions Skate Portal represents and offer
- 15:18Speaker 1: a few practices to help you move through this season
- 15:20Speaker 1: with just a little more clarity and intention. Okay, so
- 15:33Speaker 1: I want to talk about my time at Shaw Wellness.
- 15:35Speaker 1: I'm going to do an Instagram post to and put
- 15:37Speaker 1: a lot of the photos I took on my substack.
- 15:40Speaker 2: It was really cool.
- 15:42Speaker 1: One of my girlfriends, really special, lady Lauren Kleinman, she
- 15:47Speaker 1: went and she knows that I am always kind of
- 15:51Speaker 1: working on my physical health, and so she told me
- 15:55Speaker 1: about her experience and everything that she did, and she
- 15:58Speaker 1: offered to connect me with them. So full disclosure, I
- 16:01Speaker 1: was invited on this trip for free and had the
- 16:04Speaker 1: chance to experience it that way, outside of transportation, and
- 16:09Speaker 1: so I'm very grateful for the opportunity and i want
- 16:11Speaker 1: to share it with you in case you're able to
- 16:13Speaker 1: go or recreate it somehow for yourself where you are.
- 16:17Speaker 1: So Shaw Wellness it's located in the Caribbean coast of Cancun, Mexico.
- 16:21Speaker 2: They also have a location.
- 16:23Speaker 1: In Spain, and it's one of the world's leading wellness
- 16:27Speaker 1: and longevity clinics. So some of the things that they
- 16:30Speaker 1: do there is. They integrate Western medicine, functional and preventive medicine, nutrition,
- 16:35Speaker 1: natural therapies, movement, sleep optimization, emotional well being, stress management, mindfulness,
- 16:42Speaker 1: and meditation, and the real focus is on creating sustainable health,
- 16:46Speaker 1: not just treating illness and symptoms. And so going into
- 16:52Speaker 1: that experience was really amazing for me as someone especially
- 16:55Speaker 1: that is already very locked in. A lot of the
- 16:58Speaker 1: treatment were things that I've discovered over my journey, some
- 17:03Speaker 1: of the things I implement. But then I also got
- 17:06Speaker 1: to do things with my body that I've never done before.
- 17:08Speaker 2: So I did like.
- 17:10Speaker 1: The VO two max testing. I did this other incredible
- 17:15Speaker 1: experience called Icarus, where you're in this machine and.
- 17:19Speaker 2: You have this VR setup.
- 17:20Speaker 1: All the pictures are going to be in my substack
- 17:22Speaker 1: in the videos. It was a lot and you're working
- 17:25Speaker 1: with the strength of your body. I met with an
- 17:29Speaker 1: amazing osteopath from France, which I'm so excited about finding
- 17:35Speaker 1: that modality and trying to find it now that I'm
- 17:39Speaker 1: back in La So incredibly eye opening for me in
- 17:46Speaker 1: so many ways. I did body scanned, where we really
- 17:49Speaker 1: got to see in a very deep way my musculature
- 17:54Speaker 1: and my fasha I do a lot of fascia work
- 17:57Speaker 1: on myself as someone with chronic pain. I have hypermobile disorder,
- 18:00Speaker 1: so that does so many things to the body and fibromyalgia,
- 18:05Speaker 1: so I'm always working with pain that some of it
- 18:09Speaker 1: is very triggered by the mind, So finding ways to
- 18:13Speaker 1: do the physical work, but then also finding the ways
- 18:15Speaker 1: to feel safe enough in your body that your muscles
- 18:19Speaker 1: can release and reorganize in a healthy way. And so
- 18:23Speaker 1: I was able to go so much deeper on that
- 18:26Speaker 1: journey there having one on one time with my doctor there,
- 18:30Speaker 1: having I did an amazing consultation, uh consultation and advisory
- 18:36Speaker 1: session with a anti inflammatory nutritionist. That's a journey that
- 18:43Speaker 1: I'm about to embark on more fully.
- 18:48Speaker 2: It's really necessary.
- 18:49Speaker 1: I'm finding that, you know, no matter what else I do,
- 18:52Speaker 1: no matter what potential meds or supplements that I take,
- 18:56Speaker 1: it really comes down to the fact that my body
- 18:59Speaker 1: has to eat very clean to feel healthy, to not
- 19:03Speaker 1: break down. And so I think for the last few years,
- 19:06Speaker 1: I've been retraining my taste to eat for function and
- 19:10Speaker 1: not eat for taste and flavor. And as a foodie
- 19:14Speaker 1: that used to have a food blog, that's crazy, but
- 19:19Speaker 1: I've been working on it and also praying about it
- 19:21Speaker 1: and journaling about it, and I've reached that point, and
- 19:25Speaker 1: so I'm excited to be on this new journey where
- 19:29Speaker 1: I'm able to eat far more intentionally and really distance
- 19:35Speaker 1: myself from foods that just cause me pain ultimately that
- 19:41Speaker 1: you know, have to spend you know, that bite of this,
- 19:44Speaker 1: and then it takes twelve hours for you know, you
- 19:48Speaker 1: not to have pain or for you to feel like
- 19:49Speaker 1: yourself again.
- 19:51Speaker 2: I think I'm at a place where.
- 19:52Speaker 1: I'm just realizing, thank God, that I can release any
- 19:58Speaker 1: addictions to those food oods and give myself what I
- 20:04Speaker 1: need and what I deserve. So it was very amazing
- 20:08Speaker 1: to get that extra support. I also had this opportunity
- 20:12Speaker 1: to have a really amazing biofeedback session and acupuncture session
- 20:20Speaker 1: in a way that I'd never done before. And I'm
- 20:22Speaker 1: someone that gets acupuncture, I mean so much like, I
- 20:27Speaker 1: just believe in it. I believe in the power of
- 20:30Speaker 1: traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture, been doing it for probably
- 20:34Speaker 1: twenty years and having these sessions that I just had
- 20:39Speaker 1: and realizing through these like bio energy feedback machines, some
- 20:45Speaker 1: areas that would be better to concentrate on shout out
- 20:48Speaker 1: to Miguel. It was just, yeah, it changed me. It
- 20:53Speaker 1: really changed my configuration. So I needed that immersion and
- 20:58Speaker 1: I think it is something that I can recreate at
- 21:01Speaker 1: home for myself when I have this space. But it
- 21:03Speaker 1: is going to require a lot of intention, and I
- 21:06Speaker 1: think we all should consider discovering when and if we
- 21:11Speaker 1: have the time, and I know in this season that
- 21:13Speaker 1: really may not be the case for some of us,
- 21:15Speaker 1: but if and when we have the time. I'm someone
- 21:19Speaker 1: that has experienced burnout, like true burnout several times in
- 21:25Speaker 1: my life, to where I've had to be hospitalized, to
- 21:27Speaker 1: where I developed in I twitch, to where I developed
- 21:32Speaker 1: honestly in autoimmune condition. So I take burnout very seriously
- 21:37Speaker 1: and in my non podcasting work that I do one
- 21:43Speaker 1: on one in boarder rooms with leaders, it's so deep
- 21:51Speaker 1: and it's so important to catch burnout before it really
- 21:55Speaker 1: settles into your body, because it can take one to
- 21:59Speaker 1: two years of really dedicated time to heal before you
- 22:04Speaker 1: can get back to who you were, and that's just
- 22:08Speaker 1: too much time to take off. It's too much time
- 22:11Speaker 1: to suffer. And so, you know something I had to
- 22:15Speaker 1: be honest with myself about as a hyper independent person
- 22:19Speaker 1: that has a Pluto complex and has been used to
- 22:22Speaker 1: doing all the things and powering through and you know,
- 22:26Speaker 1: single mom life, woman life like we know, we know
- 22:29Speaker 1: what it's like to just keep going, even with our practices,
- 22:34Speaker 1: even with my daily meditation.
- 22:36Speaker 2: And going to Shaw wellness. This past week.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Was even more integrative and eye opening at the perfect time.
- 22:46Speaker 1: I've been navigating a personal challenge and a personal betrayal.
- 22:53Speaker 2: And a personal.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Hardship for the last five and a half months privately,
- 23:00Speaker 1: and I realized when I got to Shah that I've
- 23:03Speaker 1: been in fight or flight for over five months and
- 23:08Speaker 1: there just wasn't this space to really do anything about that.
- 23:11Speaker 1: As is the case sometimes, right, I still was working,
- 23:14Speaker 1: I was still traveling. I was still having mind blowing experiences,
- 23:18Speaker 1: you know, like my benevolent Queen Oprah being able to
- 23:22Speaker 1: interview her in can, like being a mom.
- 23:25Speaker 2: It's summer like.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Still, all of those things are happening, and some of
- 23:28Speaker 1: them are incredibly special, and I've been navigating like one
- 23:33Speaker 1: of the hardest things I've ever been through that is
- 23:37Speaker 1: likely going to haunt me for a very long time,
- 23:40Speaker 1: and I'm still in it.
- 23:41Speaker 2: I'm still not at the end road of it.
- 23:45Speaker 1: So my work this season has been, you know, how
- 23:48Speaker 1: do I hold all of it at the same time
- 23:51Speaker 1: when there is not a choice. It's not one of
- 23:53Speaker 1: those situations that we'll slow down, got it, I can't.
- 23:57Speaker 1: So I'm looking to slow down in the tiniest of
- 23:59Speaker 1: moments that that's possible, like when I'm on an airplane
- 24:02Speaker 1: and not watching a movie and instead just breathing and
- 24:06Speaker 1: looking out the window, or you know, getting in a few.
- 24:09Speaker 2: Extra epsom salt baths.
- 24:11Speaker 1: But this was my opportunity to reregulate, and it was
- 24:14Speaker 1: powerful to see that up close and to be able
- 24:17Speaker 1: to admit to myself that I have been suffering in
- 24:20Speaker 1: some ways mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually, you know, these
- 24:26Speaker 1: last few months, and that I needed that much space.
- 24:29Speaker 1: I was able to have four days there, three full
- 24:33Speaker 1: days of working with treatment and the doctors and finding
- 24:38Speaker 1: opportunities to just sit, rest and restore, and in real
- 24:42Speaker 1: time watching my body come down for fight or flight
- 24:45Speaker 1: was just such a powerful reminder as a leader and
- 24:49Speaker 1: as a facilitator of what it really feels like in
- 24:52Speaker 1: the body and how to be with it, how to
- 24:55Speaker 1: move past it and then how to continue to tend
- 24:58Speaker 1: to it once you're out of it. So yeah, I
- 25:02Speaker 1: went in actually so much more hypervigilant than I imagined,
- 25:06Speaker 1: even going into a space of healing, like my walls
- 25:10Speaker 1: were up. I was already kind of falsely assuming that,
- 25:13Speaker 1: you know, maybe I wouldn't be understood or be helped.
- 25:16Speaker 1: And you know, I just I had some calcification because
- 25:19Speaker 1: I've had to be upright, you know, and strong in
- 25:24Speaker 1: this season. And so just the grace there of them
- 25:29Speaker 1: working with that and knowing that the surrender to the
- 25:34Speaker 1: longevity and health is part of it too, and then
- 25:38Speaker 1: the finding like the real connective points of what my
- 25:43Speaker 1: unique body and circumstance requires. And you know, I think
- 25:48Speaker 1: if you ever are in an environment like this and
- 25:50Speaker 1: you feel safe enough also sharing with the people in
- 25:52Speaker 1: front of you what you're holding. You know, when they
- 25:56Speaker 1: I went in with the osteopath and you know, she
- 25:58Speaker 1: was working with me, and she was just like, you know,
- 26:01Speaker 1: everything is in your body. You're not feeling safe in
- 26:04Speaker 1: your body and to be able to share, You're right,
- 26:07Speaker 1: I'm not, but it's not because of my trauma. It's
- 26:10Speaker 1: not because of my things, thank God anymore it's because
- 26:14Speaker 1: the way my life is designed, it surrounds me, and
- 26:19Speaker 1: so sometimes, especially in close circumstance with the nature of
- 26:23Speaker 1: the work that I do, it just is it's gonna
- 26:28Speaker 1: be with me. There's no amount of energetic practices nervous
- 26:31Speaker 1: system regulation that can keep that off of me or
- 26:34Speaker 1: out of me.
- 26:36Speaker 2: And so then when.
- 26:37Speaker 1: It's there, where do you find the time to really
- 26:40Speaker 1: tend to yourself? And so I want to pose that
- 26:43Speaker 1: question here and I'm going to dive even deeper into
- 26:45Speaker 1: my experience at Chawalness on the substack. I'm going to
- 26:48Speaker 1: break down every treatment I had and some of the
- 26:51Speaker 1: incredible food that I was served. They design your diet too,
- 26:56Speaker 1: so everything was anti inflammatory or also referred to as microbiotic, and.
- 27:05Speaker 2: It was beautiful. It was delicious, but it.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Was also completely resetting to my body. It was natural,
- 27:15Speaker 1: intentional medicine and I got to kind of watch that
- 27:20Speaker 1: flow over the course of three days. So that was
- 27:23Speaker 1: pretty pretty epic, pretty powerful. So dive more into the
- 27:26Speaker 1: substack coming in this next week. You can subscribe there
- 27:29Speaker 1: and all the things, but it's called self care Simplified,
- 27:33Speaker 1: and I'll be diving into that process. But I want
- 27:36Speaker 1: to leave this little inquiry for this part of what
- 27:38Speaker 1: I'm saying. I want you to really look at your
- 27:42Speaker 1: life right now, what it's made of. I want you
- 27:44Speaker 1: to look at the scaffolding. I'm not going to sit
- 27:47Speaker 1: here and tell you add more self care practices if
- 27:49Speaker 1: there's just not the time, Because sometimes we're in it.
- 27:54Speaker 1: We're in it and in ways we don't even want
- 27:57Speaker 1: to be. But there's just not this space or time
- 28:00Speaker 1: for anything about it to change. What I do want
- 28:03Speaker 1: you to do, if that is your circumstance, is say,
- 28:06Speaker 1: where are the micro moments that I can plug a
- 28:10Speaker 1: couple things in, even just to make myself smile, even
- 28:14Speaker 1: just to slow down enough to hold your tension points.
- 28:16Speaker 1: For me, it's in my traps and so, which is
- 28:20Speaker 1: very indicative holding all the things, the weights on the shoulders.
- 28:24Speaker 1: But when I have moments, you know, I can't always
- 28:27Speaker 1: get these knots out or get it to calm, but
- 28:29Speaker 1: I can close my eyes and take a breath and say,
- 28:34Speaker 1: I recognize an honor all that you're holding. It is
- 28:38Speaker 1: safe to be in my body. I am safe to
- 28:41Speaker 1: be in my body. I am safe to be in
- 28:43Speaker 1: my body. I'm safe to be in my body. Doing
- 28:46Speaker 1: something like that that is unique to you and your
- 28:49Speaker 1: process and what you're walking through can be It can
- 28:54Speaker 1: really be the peace to just help you sleep.
- 28:59Speaker 2: A little better.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Connect to faith, connect to hope, activate that language with
- 29:04Speaker 1: your body and that transmission that we can give ourselves.
- 29:09Speaker 2: So think about where you can do that. And then
- 29:12Speaker 2: I would.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Also like you to take a moment to look ahead
- 29:16Speaker 1: in your life in the future. I don't care how
- 29:18Speaker 1: far out it is, but whenever you see a free day,
- 29:23Speaker 1: or a free half day, or a free cluster of hours,
- 29:27Speaker 1: block it out. Use that time to connect to a
- 29:33Speaker 1: practice you can find someone self care simplified or Google
- 29:36Speaker 1: or my book wherever you find it, but pick out
- 29:40Speaker 1: a handful of those things, turn your phone off. You
- 29:43Speaker 1: may think it won't be enough because what you're walking.
- 29:46Speaker 2: Through is too deep and vast.
- 29:48Speaker 1: It will matter. It will bring some relief. It will
- 29:52Speaker 1: give you an opportunity to just be with the truth
- 29:55Speaker 1: of your life, the truth of your body, the truth
- 29:57Speaker 1: of who you are, truth of the present moment.
- 30:01Speaker 2: And so.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Put aside that time, even if you don't know what
- 30:07Speaker 1: you want to do with it yet, just make the
- 30:09Speaker 1: container and commit to using that time on yourself, specifically
- 30:15Speaker 1: on your body in a nourishing way. Okay, So I
- 30:20Speaker 1: am going to stop there with that, and then as
- 30:24Speaker 1: we close out this episode, I want to dive into
- 30:26Speaker 1: this astrology a little bit. There's a couple interesting things.
- 30:29Speaker 1: So there's that Lionscate portal. We are currently at the
- 30:33Speaker 1: end of Jane Child. We are currently at the end
- 30:37Speaker 1: of July, fastly moving into August twenty twenty six. But
- 30:41Speaker 1: a lot of these transits happen roughly around the same
- 30:44Speaker 1: time every August. We're getting into eclipse season, so we
- 30:49Speaker 1: have I believe two full moons this August one new moon,
- 30:54Speaker 1: we have a solar eclipse, we have a lunar eclipse,
- 30:57Speaker 1: we have a Jupiter Casimi, we have of lions Gate,
- 31:02Speaker 1: and a few more things. This spicy, I like it.
- 31:06Speaker 1: So just think about, you know, what are some intentions
- 31:09Speaker 1: to become a little bit more embodied in your life
- 31:12Speaker 1: and in who you say you are with daily choices.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Through daily choices, Leo energy in general is Leo's season.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Shout out to my Leos. I am a Leo rising.
- 31:25Speaker 1: Leo represents whatever sign you are courage, authentic, self expression, creativity, leadership, confidence,
- 31:32Speaker 1: living from the heart instead of fear. So how can
- 31:35Speaker 1: you lean into those feelings? This season with intention questions
- 31:41Speaker 1: to ask yourself? You know, where am I hiding in
- 31:44Speaker 1: my life? And I don't just mean from a be
- 31:46Speaker 1: seen visibility perspective, like where are you hiding in one
- 31:51Speaker 1: on one conversations with people? Where are you hiding in
- 31:55Speaker 1: the conversations you have with yourself? Where are you hiding
- 31:59Speaker 1: in the mirror your reflection? And where are you seeking
- 32:04Speaker 1: approval instead of authenticity? Where are you accidentally giving away
- 32:12Speaker 1: your power by projecting it on to some kind of
- 32:15Speaker 1: an authority figure instead of gathering yourself for yourself. Think
- 32:24Speaker 1: about the difference between manifestation and alignment. I've never been
- 32:29Speaker 1: a manifestation gally. You have never heard me talk about
- 32:32Speaker 1: that in detail on this show or anywhere. I don't
- 32:37Speaker 1: necessarily buy into manifestation culture because mostly the way I
- 32:44Speaker 1: hear it in the mainstream, it's just not rooted in gratitude.
- 32:48Speaker 1: What I always look for and ask for is alignment.
- 32:51Speaker 1: When alignment happens for me, that's when everything else is
- 32:55Speaker 1: able to rise.
- 32:56Speaker 2: That's for me.
- 32:57Speaker 1: But just looking at manifestation, sometimes it can happen. You
- 33:00Speaker 1: can like manifest You know that bag of money or
- 33:04Speaker 1: this opportunity or that, but it's not really lasting presence.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Only alignment brings that. So rather than treating manifestation this season,
- 33:13Speaker 1: if you're working with the moon's energy or the astrological
- 33:16Speaker 1: energy as simply wishing for outcomes, especially financial invisibility, just
- 33:23Speaker 1: understand alignment comes first. Check in with what your values
- 33:27Speaker 1: are before your vision. Most visions I find that many
- 33:33Speaker 1: people have are really just rooted in Instagram aspiration. They're
- 33:40Speaker 1: rooted in comparison and in someone else's structure for what
- 33:46Speaker 1: a dream or success is that you're trying to replicate
- 33:49Speaker 1: or compare to. So just notice that, observe it. You know,
- 33:56Speaker 1: Integrity before opportunity really something that think about and habits
- 34:02Speaker 1: before transformation. If you're praying or asking or looking to
- 34:08Speaker 1: quote unquote manifest transformation in your life, what are the
- 34:12Speaker 1: habits and the devotions and the disciplines you are connecting
- 34:17Speaker 1: to in order to do that. Manifestation is not only
- 34:21Speaker 1: about attracting things, it's about becoming and then being able
- 34:25Speaker 1: to sustain whatever it is that you've magnetized to you. So, yeah,
- 34:32Speaker 1: some questions as we end this episode and you think
- 34:34Speaker 1: about that some soul work to consider through the rest
- 34:38Speaker 1: of this month energetically. What chapter am I ready to close?
- 34:42Speaker 1: What identity no longer fits who I'm becoming? What habits
- 34:45Speaker 1: support the life I say I want? What conversations have
- 34:50Speaker 1: I been avoiding? Where is life asking me to be
- 34:54Speaker 1: more courageous? And what would I pursue if fear wasn't
- 34:59Speaker 1: making my decision.
- 35:03Speaker 2: Beautiful? All right in there?
