- 0:00Speaker 1: Here we are, guys, last break of the day, last break.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Thank you guys. Before we get out of here, Steve,
- 0:09Speaker 1: we do have one more voicemail. This is from Jamal
- 0:12Speaker 1: in Baltimore, referring to a closing you did earlier this week.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Ing from out of Baltimore. Listen to your show every day,
- 0:19Speaker 2: get me through my job in the morning, Steve, you
- 0:22Speaker 2: went and gave a rebuttal back of a caller that
- 0:26Speaker 2: called Dennis to who gave you? Who gives you a thought?
- 0:29Speaker 2: He to speak on? Like basically U kind words that
- 0:34Speaker 2: you do? I mean, that really got up under my skin, man,
- 0:37Speaker 2: because do you really need to listen to get to
- 0:40Speaker 2: give encouragement? You know what I mean? And I really
- 0:43Speaker 2: got mad at you, Steve, because you went all into
- 0:46Speaker 2: all this trying to like not really defending yourself with
- 0:49Speaker 2: giving an explanation. No, no explanation needed, man, You know
- 0:53Speaker 2: what I mean. Words of encouragement. Man, Yes, you got
- 0:56Speaker 2: your thority to give words of encouragement. You have a platform,
- 0:59Speaker 2: you know what I mean? And I love the way
- 1:01Speaker 2: you use this man, And I'm not gonna get into
- 1:03Speaker 2: all that for five Okay.
- 1:05Speaker 3: He told you all right, Jama, You know what Jamal,
- 1:09Speaker 3: are you actually right? Man? You actually one hundred percent correct.
- 1:14Speaker 3: You know, sometimes I shouldn't reply, and you know, but
- 1:19Speaker 3: being human sometimes, man, get I get tired of letting
- 1:23Speaker 3: people have free shots all the time, you know, just
- 1:26Speaker 3: gonna have a unchecked opinion of me and you don't
- 1:30Speaker 3: even know me.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Hah.
- 1:31Speaker 3: So I'm guilty of that. But Jamal, you are correct.
- 1:34Speaker 3: I should let it go because I said in twenty
- 1:36Speaker 3: twenty six I was gonna start caring even less. You did,
- 1:41Speaker 3: and really and I have, I've made a really concerted
- 1:44Speaker 3: effort in twenty twenty six to care even less because man, look, man,
- 1:49Speaker 3: I'm fly, right, you know, I'm like really fly and
- 1:52Speaker 3: I'm sixty nine, yes, yes, but I'm like, I'm going
- 1:55Speaker 3: on like right now, ten months away from being seventy,
- 1:59Speaker 3: and that's a big number. I don't even know if
- 2:01Speaker 3: seventy put you in the unk category no more, because
- 2:05Speaker 3: I hear him calling dudes in the late forties and
- 2:08Speaker 3: fifties unk. So in seventies, man, I'm seventy. You really
- 2:13Speaker 3: in that old man category? You know, at seventy that's
- 2:17Speaker 3: you and that you pass o g oh ag that
- 2:24Speaker 3: probably just you know or oga something like that. But
- 2:31Speaker 3: I'm proud of that. Yeah, I mean, you know, I'm
- 2:33Speaker 3: just talking. You know, I'm I'm happy with it either way.
- 2:35Speaker 3: But Jamal is right, man. But you know what, man,
- 2:39Speaker 3: you just get tired sometimes because when you have good
- 2:42Speaker 3: intent and then somebody come up in here you are
- 2:45Speaker 3: not gotting up. You ain't got you a hypocrite, blah
- 2:47Speaker 3: blah blah blah. Bay man, miss me, miss me. I
- 2:50Speaker 3: don't respond to the internet anymore. But when you call
- 2:53Speaker 3: in on this radio show and you leave a voicemail
- 2:55Speaker 3: on eight seven seven twenty nine, Steve, I'm probably gonna
- 2:58Speaker 3: say something back to you because obviously you listening, and
- 3:01Speaker 3: you're listening enough to have your opinion. So here's mine.
- 3:05Speaker 3: I'm gonna try to do better, Jamal, just like I
- 3:08Speaker 3: said I was gonna do. I really am brother, and
- 3:09Speaker 3: I appreciate brothers like you who are real men, you understand,
- 3:13Speaker 3: who stand up and speak on my behalf sometime. Cause look, man,
- 3:18Speaker 3: I know I'm barbershop conversation all the time, but you
- 3:21Speaker 3: know these people in these barber shops man, that have
- 3:24Speaker 3: never met me, that have an ill opinion of me.
- 3:28Speaker 3: That's crazy to me. And you know why it's crazy
- 3:30Speaker 3: mine because I have spent my life under the tutelage
- 3:33Speaker 3: of my father, Slick Harvey, who raised me and my
- 3:37Speaker 3: brothers to be men. I'm talking about real men to
- 3:41Speaker 3: the cold now. I have failed many times at women.
- 3:47Speaker 3: I have failed me. I've made thousands of mistakes with women.
- 3:51Speaker 3: I got it wrong over and over again. But you
- 3:55Speaker 3: know what I ain't got wrong though I ain't this manhood.
- 3:59Speaker 3: I got all of it. I got all the lessons.
- 4:02Speaker 3: I know all the rules, I know all the codes,
- 4:05Speaker 3: and I have honored them all. They ain't a man
- 4:08Speaker 3: living on this earth that can say I backstabbed him.
- 4:12Speaker 3: That is not a single soul. The stories that's out
- 4:15Speaker 3: there by me backstabbing somebody, they just not true. But
- 4:19Speaker 3: I ain't got time to address all that because you
- 4:21Speaker 3: don't know. And so man, I just keep it moving
- 4:25Speaker 3: because when it come to manhood, I got that understood.
- 4:28Speaker 3: And when you in these barbershops and you out there
- 4:30Speaker 3: talking about me and you don't know me, I know
- 4:32Speaker 3: it's something wrong with you. Because I'm a man's man.
- 4:36Speaker 3: I really am man, and I ain't never really met
- 4:40Speaker 3: a man man that don't really like me. That we've
- 4:43Speaker 3: had a conversation with Ain't nobody. I've never had a
- 4:46Speaker 3: conversation with a man and he walked away.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Man.
- 4:48Speaker 3: I got through talking to him. Man, I can't stand him. No,
- 4:50Speaker 3: you can't stand me. If you don't know me. Now,
- 4:53Speaker 3: you might not like the way I say things, or
- 4:55Speaker 3: you might not like my opinion on something, but you
- 4:58Speaker 3: can't check me. As far as manhood go, I'm under
- 5:02Speaker 3: that's beyond reproach, and my pride as a man won't
- 5:07Speaker 3: allow you to let me. I will just won't allow
- 5:10Speaker 3: you to do it. Man, I'm just not man. You know,
- 5:14Speaker 3: there's a guy on the internet I was scrolling through
- 5:16Speaker 3: the other day and he made a homophobic remark about me.
- 5:20Speaker 3: I'm not gonna restate it, but bruh, I wanted to
- 5:23Speaker 3: find I wanted to get at him so bad and go, bruh,
- 5:27Speaker 3: what you're talking about me?
- 5:31Speaker 2: Man?
- 5:31Speaker 3: Do you know what? Bruh? And I already know he
- 5:34Speaker 3: wasn't man enough to say that to my face. But
- 5:37Speaker 3: that's just me. And you know we had that pride,
- 5:39Speaker 3: you know, And I have nothing against with other people
- 5:42Speaker 3: with who they choose to love and nothing like that.
- 5:44Speaker 3: I work with him. I hired people have had different
- 5:47Speaker 3: sexual prefaces. That's that's not a concern of mine. But
- 5:50Speaker 3: when you come over here to me, though, and you
- 5:52Speaker 3: come to me and about me and mine, I'm real
- 5:55Speaker 3: serious about me and mine And that's just me as
- 5:58Speaker 3: a man. I'm a stand on that all day long.
- 6:02Speaker 3: I'm him when he comes to that right there. So, Jamal,
- 6:05Speaker 3: I appreciate brothers like you defending me, telling me to
- 6:08Speaker 3: keep my head up, don't worry about them, and I'm
- 6:10Speaker 3: gonna try to do better. Brother, I'm gonna try to
- 6:12Speaker 3: do better. But if you challenge my manhood, I can't
- 6:17Speaker 3: see you, though. Keep it on the internet because I
- 6:19Speaker 3: can't see you. Keep it on the internet right where
- 6:22Speaker 3: your weak need to be. Father, God help me as
- 6:25Speaker 3: I gain in my walk that I stumbled through. So well,
- 6:30Speaker 3: talk to God today, because obviously you don't want to
- 6:33Speaker 3: hear from me, So just talk to God he loved
- 6:35Speaker 3: to hear from. Don't call me to tell them little Oh.
