Football star Paddy McCourt was declared ‘an innocent man’ after a nightmare 22 months involving a conviction for sexual assault concluded when Northern Ireland’s Prosecution Service told an appeals court he had no case to answer.
McCourt, a Glasgow Celtic and former League of Ireland star, had been accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a Derry bar two years ago by putting his hand up her skirt.
