- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Well, I'd like to welcome everybody out to the No Time to Waste podcast studio.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: And I am your guide, Marcus Murray.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: And I'm so excited that I've got an extraordinary guest joining us today.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: And we're going to just let you in on a conversation that we're having.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: But I have to tell you about this young man.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: I had the privilege of seeing him actually on social media.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: And it was really amazing because I saw him in this environment that was really unusual.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: It was like he was in a box.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: And he was in this box.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: And I'm sure if you've listened to our podcast, you've heard me on multiple occasions talking about not allowing people to get us stuck in a box where we're unable to achieve our potential because we're boxed in.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: So when I saw this young man in this box, I was like, what in the world is he doing in the box?
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: And he's sitting there and he's wearing black and and his hair is all shaved.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: And so I, and then I meet you.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: And that's when all of a sudden it made sense.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: The the the the mission that God has put you on on the planet is one that actually grabs attention and it causes people to pause and to listen.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: When I spoke with you in person, I was so blown away.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: Xavier, I said, can I take a picture with you?
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: Do you remember that?
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: I said, Can I just take a picture with you?
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: And I'm treating you like you're a celebrity, and you're probably wondering, what is the deal with this guy?
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: Because I saw something in you.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: I saw a faith that is uncommon.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: And when you have uncommon faith, uncommon faith yields uncommon results.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: Just want to welcome you to the No Time to Waste podcast.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: You are the youngest guest that we've had on so far, and I'm so glad that you're here.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: Welcome, sir.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: How are you today?
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: What a good introduction.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: I'm doing great.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: I'm doing great.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: I'm just uh home right now, just um just enjoying my time out of work.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: Um had my first day at work, um, my new job, so that was a blessing learning a bunch of stuff.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: But man, God is so good.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: He is so good.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: Well, I'm gonna dive right in with some questions because you're so young.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: How old are you?
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: 22.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: 22.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: I've actually almost been 22 three times.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: That's crazy.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: You know what I'm saying?
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: I know you're saying times three.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: Exactly, exactly.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: It's so incredible.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: But one of the things that we know, Xavier, is that the way that life works, most people feel when they get to my point in life where they've got more years behind them than ahead of them, sometimes they feel like it's too late for them, like they've missed the opportunity to transform, they've missed the moment, they missed their call.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: And possibly because all of the years are behind them, the big chunk is behind them, they're almost in a paralysis state where they're afraid to move forward.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: And that's what made me think about you.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: What I saw in you was what I would call amazing faith or great faith.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: And I equated you, the person that you reminded me the most of was John the Baptist in the wilderness, getting people to wake up to the fact that the Messiah was on the way.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: So, with that being said, I've got to ask you a question.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: The majority of people that are listening in, Xavier, are wondering have I missed my opportunity to transform?
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: And the reason they think that is because a lot of times when people are stuck, we traditionally think they're stuck in their mind.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: But what God has shown me is they're actually stuck in their hearts.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: What can happen is sometimes there is a past or a history of sin, something that they've done that they regret, or some type of life that they wish they hadn't lived, or all of these regrets about things done in the past, and they haven't forgiven themselves because they don't recognize God's forgiveness.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: You actually have to start with a clean slate to transform.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: So my question to you as a young man, talking to people that are over the age of 40, is God's grace sufficient for them?
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: Sufficient and enough for them if they've been tormented uh by uh uh plaguing failure.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: Is God's grace sufficient for them?
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: Yes, it is.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: It is enough, and I'll even tell you why.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: Um Romans 5, it talks about how um how our sin abounds, but God's grace abounds even more.
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: Which means that like there's no limits to that.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: There's no limits to that.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: Um, regard regardless of what you did.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: Um, you may have things that you keep to yourself that you never told anybody, but God knows He knows every secret.
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: Um, and that's why you have to reveal it to Him and speak to Him and reveal and be honest with Him.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: And He will be so He will He will give you grace, like no, just He'll give you a grace that you've never deserved.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: And I'll even say this I never even talked about this with you yet, but I'll even say Um God works outside of time, He works outside of time.
- 5:55SPEAKER_01: So when He works, because He works outside of time, like it's so hard to grasp, but when He looks at us, He doesn't just look at us the way we are now.
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: Like He doesn't, he's not just there where we are now, he's also there like in our past.
- 6:11SPEAKER_01: He's there in our future.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: And the way I explain it is a good way to explain it that gave me a crazy revelation is when I pray, when God listens to a prayer I'm praying right now, He's also listening to a prayer I'm praying five years ago.
- 6:25SPEAKER_01: He's also listening to a prayer I'm praying five years from now, five years in the future.
- 6:29SPEAKER_01: He's there in every phase of my life when I was broken, needing a savior, which I still do, but I'm saying he was also there now when I pray today, he's also there five years ago when I'm free from things that I'm not free from now.
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: Like, he is actually like there in every phase of my life, and that's why he's so merciful.
- 6:51SPEAKER_01: Like, I used to think so for so long that like I like based on my works is why God would want me to, or God would only use me because of like how well I'm doing.
- 7:05SPEAKER_01: And I realized the way to contr the thing that actually like totally like contradicts that argument and totally just like throws that lie into the pits of hell is that God sees if I fall five like he sees the next time I fall.
- 7:23SPEAKER_01: He's there in that moment when I'm crying out to God asking for forgiveness when I fall into sin, maybe like three days from now or a week from now, but yet he's still using me.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: And he gave me salvation knowing that I may mess up and he still gave me that grace.
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: So, like, what makes you think that he's gonna like like what makes you think he's gonna change his mind when he already knows what you're gonna do, he knows everything you're gonna commit or will commit.
- 7:56SPEAKER_01: Yet he still gave you the free gift of salvation, right?
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: And it even says, like, even in Romans five-five, I'm even going back in Romans five again, like it says, like, great says, While we were sinners, Christ died for us.
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: Now the more that his were that we are that we've been atoned by his blood.
- 8:19SPEAKER_01: I think that's what it says.
- 8:20SPEAKER_01: And it says that now that we like now that he gave us this gift, he gave us the best gift he could have given us while we were sinners.
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: Now imagine how much more he's gonna give now that you're saved.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: Like, it's like there's like the promise is no never ending.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: Like, like it's never too late.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: Like, as long as you set your mind on Christ, all things will be added to you.
- 8:48SPEAKER_01: It says when you first seek the kingdom of God, all things will be added to you.
- 8:51SPEAKER_01: So, like, it's not even like worrying about that.
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: All you do is set your mind on Christ, and those things would be added.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: That's so good.
- 8:58SPEAKER_01: Come together, you'll see it come together.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: Well, I have to ask you a question.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: So, would you say that addressing the sin issue is an important part of transformation, becoming what God has called you to be.
- 9:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, for sure.
- 9:14SPEAKER_01: I think so.
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: The way to address the sinful issue is you need to know who you are in Christ.
- 9:21SPEAKER_01: Like you're a son, like that's your position.
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: When Jesus died, we became a son in Christ.
- 9:28SPEAKER_01: Like we become a son, and that's and a son isn't something that's like a it's a gender thing.
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: When you think of a son, some people think that's just a male.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: Like a son is a position.
- 9:36SPEAKER_01: So, like women and men, they're sons of Christ.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: That's a position.
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: So, like when you're a son in Christ and you believe who you are in Christ, like the sin will start breaking off.
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: It'll start breaking off.
- 9:48SPEAKER_01: It's not even about worrying whether you're gonna sin or not tomorrow.
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: It's actually just like you know what his grace is, you know what he did.
- 9:55SPEAKER_01: We we know that we have a new nature because we're sons of Christ.
- 9:58SPEAKER_01: And now that comes with being dead to sin.
- 10:01SPEAKER_01: We're new, we're a new creation.
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: We're now we're righteous, holy, and pure, and we actually speak that over ourselves, and those things break off.
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: They break off, and that's because of God's grace.
- 10:12SPEAKER_01: You know, we just keep going back to grace, like grace is literally the key to it.
- 10:17SPEAKER_00: That's so good.
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: So let me ask you: do you think there can be true success in the absence of no, in the absence of peace?
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: Like there are some people that want to be more successful that are listening to this podcast.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: They feel like they've lived their life, they haven't achieved a lot, but yet they're tormented by uh failure, regret, uh, and and past issues.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: They don't have peace.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: But yet they're listening to the podcast, they're trying the new concepts we're talking about, they're reading the books and doing all of that, they're journaling, they're meditating, but they haven't addressed the issue that's that's not allowing them to sleep at night.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: How important is peace?
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: Can there be true success without peace?
- 11:10SPEAKER_01: No, I mean I think the first I think really the question that I ask um is what do you consider success?
- 11:20SPEAKER_01: Like if you think that success is to have a nice house, um have a family with three kids and a dog, like do you like your plan on what success is that really success?
- 11:37SPEAKER_01: Is that what God sees?
- 11:39SPEAKER_01: Is that what success is the is that the same success that God sees as success?
- 11:43SPEAKER_01: Like is your way of success the same way that God sees a success in your life?
- 11:48SPEAKER_01: When your will is aligned with God's will, you find peace.
- 11:52SPEAKER_01: Like you even think I go back in the word like Stephen.
- 11:58SPEAKER_01: Stephen, like he was getting like it I know it sounds so extreme, but Stephen, he was preaching the gospel and saw before he was Paul, like he stoned Stephen.
- 12:11SPEAKER_01: But when he was being stoned, he had peace and was having joy.
- 12:14SPEAKER_01: He had joy because he saw Christ in it, and he had joy that he saw God.
- 12:21SPEAKER_01: Like he was he had peace and what he was doing, that he was doing the right thing, and that's what success was in his life.
- 12:29SPEAKER_01: And obviously that may not be what your like what success is for everybody, it could be just like every job you have is success.
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: Like every job that you have is success.
- 12:41SPEAKER_01: I think success is because I even heard this thing from this one pastor.
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: This one he was talking about this one lady was saying to him, what like like what like what should I do?
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: Like there's these two jobs that I want to take.
- 12:54SPEAKER_01: Which job should I take?
- 12:55SPEAKER_01: I want to be an Orthodontist, or like can I either want to be an Orthodonist or can I like I want to or or I want to be like a makeup artist or what like what what what should I do?
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: And he's like, Well, I know what you need to do.
- 13:06SPEAKER_01: And she's like, What?
- 13:07SPEAKER_01: What do I need to do?
- 13:08SPEAKER_01: He's like, I know exactly what you what what what what God wants you to do.
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: She's like, what?
- 13:14SPEAKER_01: Preach the gospel?
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: Preach the gospel?
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: It doesn't matter what job you have, it's success.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: Like, that's success.
- 13:22SPEAKER_01: Success is like having faith.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: It's actually just appreciating like thanking God what you have now and preaching, and it's actually having that, and it's and it starts with the freedom of the sin.
- 13:36SPEAKER_01: Like you feel free from sin and you see that on you.
- 13:38SPEAKER_01: You when you find freedom, you truly want other people to have it, and and you'll you'll see that as success.
- 13:44SPEAKER_01: Because I'll tell you, when I struggled with sim, when I was falling into sinful nature, my sinful nature, when I had sinful nature, I was like, there was no way I could get out of it.
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: But then when I realized that there was a way out, like I don't want anybody else to be in that.
- 14:01SPEAKER_01: And when I see like people in it, it's just like, man, like just that they knew that, like just that they knew like that there's a way to be free from that, you realize that your world was completely like you were completely blind.
- 14:19SPEAKER_01: Like, like your whole way of thinking, your whole way of what you consider success, your whole way of thinking what life is completely changes.
- 14:28SPEAKER_01: Like, I would have never thought that I'd be preaching the gospel to people.
- 14:31SPEAKER_01: I never thought that I would have a have a fire to go out and preach the gospel to people with like and have a passion to preach the gospel.
- 14:37SPEAKER_01: I I'm gonna tell you, when I was in school, when I would present in school, I was so nervous to present in front of people.
- 14:44SPEAKER_01: I would like I'd be I'd be stuttering, I'd be like st- stu stuttering.
- 14:49SPEAKER_01: I would be, I would be, I would be shaking, I'd be sweating.
- 14:51SPEAKER_01: You could tell.
- 14:52SPEAKER_01: Like like the things I like when I didn't enjoy what I was like presenting, I would just I would be so afraid.
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: I'd be so anxious.
- 15:02SPEAKER_01: But like now it's like I can preach the gospel, like I can preach the gospel all day, and it and it's not and it come and it comes natural because it's like I I've lived it.
- 15:11SPEAKER_01: I've lived like like Romans, the book of Romans.
- 15:15SPEAKER_01: You gotta read the book of Romans.
- 15:16SPEAKER_01: The book of Romans came to life.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: It's it's become flesh in my life.
- 15:20SPEAKER_01: In other words, it's become real in my life.
- 15:23SPEAKER_01: Like I've become Romans 5.
- 15:25SPEAKER_01: I've become Romans 5.
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: Not just reading it, not just learning Romans 5, I've become Romans 5.
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: Wow, that is so good.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: That is so good.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: That's so good.
- 15:37SPEAKER_00: That's so good.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: So let me ask you a question.
- 15:40SPEAKER_00: So for a man or a woman that is desiring outward success before dealing with the hard work of addressing the inside, the things that we deal with inside, the relationship that we actually have with God the Creator.
- 15:59SPEAKER_00: How is it better said?
- 16:03SPEAKER_00: Isn't that like putting the cart before the horse, seeking success, outward success before inward success?
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: What do you think?
- 16:13SPEAKER_00: Ooh.
- 16:14SPEAKER_01: So I had this revelation actually a few months ago.
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: So this is actually perfect time that you're asking this question.
- 16:20SPEAKER_01: Um, because um I saw this this sermon from this one she spoke in Bethel.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: I forgot, I forgot her name.
- 16:29SPEAKER_01: But she said um she said like she was talking about like how back then when you're you know, cameras, like cameras, like the first phase of when cameras first got created, like you know, cameras like taking photos, what they would do is they would take a photo and then they would have this um it was kind of like those, it it was like an older version of a um what's it called?
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: Those photos that you like shake.
- 16:55SPEAKER_01: Um it's kind of like one of those older versions of that.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: But what you would do is you would take the the thing that you would you would it's the photo and you would actually send it to um you would mail it, I think you would mail it to like the company, and what they would do is they would put it in a dark room.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: And when they put it in the dark room, they shut the door and keep it in a dark room and the image gets developed.
- 17:18SPEAKER_01: It gets developed and developed, and then when they when they open it and they expose it to light over a period of time, when you expose it to the light, it actually like the photo shows up and it and it's developed perfectly.
- 17:32SPEAKER_01: But the problem is if you open the door too soon and you expose it to light too soon, it'll actually ruin the image.
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: And it and this and this message is awesome.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: It talks about how like just like that, like when we expose ourselves to the light too soon, it's gonna destroy us, it's gonna destroy our image.
- 17:55SPEAKER_01: Like, I heard this quote the same there was a quote that she said.
- 17:58SPEAKER_01: She said, if the light that is in you, or if the light is in you isn't as great as the light that is shining on you, that light will destroy you.
- 18:10SPEAKER_00: That's good.
- 18:11SPEAKER_00: You gotta say that one more time.
- 18:13SPEAKER_01: So if the light that is in you isn't as great as the light that is shining on you, it's gonna destroy you.
- 18:21SPEAKER_01: Because we get so caught up in wanting to be um discovered, being discovered by people when we're already discovered by God.
- 18:35SPEAKER_01: We're discovered by God and God is developing us.
- 18:39SPEAKER_01: And the thing is we need to get let God develop us before we're discovered by men.
- 18:47SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: And I'll even say this I get caught up sometimes wanting to be discovered by man.
- 18:54SPEAKER_01: This isn't something that we that that I'm I'm I'm God over.
- 18:57SPEAKER_01: Like this is something that a lot of people struggle with.
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: Like, and that's why I've learned I need to humble myself and realize like I need to be developed before I can be discovered.
- 19:06SPEAKER_01: Because if that because if that light shines too early, things are gonna come to the light.
- 19:10SPEAKER_01: Things are gonna come to the light that I don't want to come to the light.
- 19:13SPEAKER_01: But sometimes you don't realize what's coming to the light when you're so worried about being discovered by men.
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: Now that is a perfect pause right there.
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: That's the mic drop moment.
- 19:28SPEAKER_00: And Xavier, I have to thank you.
- 19:30SPEAKER_00: Now remember, I told you we were doing two podcasts, so we're doing two.
- 19:35SPEAKER_00: So don't you go anywhere because we have to get you back on in just a moment so that we can finish what we've started.
