- 0:35[SPEAKER_01]: Greg, happy Thursday.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_01]: How are we doing, man?
- 0:37[SPEAKER_01]: How are you feeling?
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: I'm good, man.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: It's been a, it's been a, I mean, he's caused time your west coast.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, we're just talking.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: Your day is going to go on mine is.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: partially over here.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's busy days so far, but it's it's good, man.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_00]: It woke up feeling good.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm ready to roll question for you.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: How much do you enjoy fall not winter not the end of summer like are you are you a hoodie guy or you a sweats guy when you're on the house.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: Do you like the open up the windows like are you a fall guy is fall your season or or what what's your favorite season.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: So this will depend, I could probably tell you all four seasons in my favor if this really depends on what it is.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_01]: I am definitely a hoodie guy.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: My fashion sense is not the best.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm a comfort first guy, right?
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: I'm hats all the time at present.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: Hoodies, sweats, whatever it might be.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: Love hoodies, I love the beginning of fall, especially here in North Carolina, where it's like up and buffalo, you get it a little bit, like that fall will come quick.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: We kind of have any elongated fall season.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: I do like, I think summer is still my best.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: My favorite season, I like the warm, I like sunshine, I like being most sit outside, even if I'm drenched in sweat, I just like being out there and I like everything that comes with it.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: But I do enjoy going to the mountains and the fall is the perfect time to go to the mountains.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: are you a pumpkin spice guy or no?
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: No, I am a straight black.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a black coffee guy.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if I've ever had a a pumpkin spice.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: What?
- 2:10[SPEAKER_01]: No way.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_01]: No way.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm not like a person that waits for it all year, but if it's like we're hitting the drive through at Starbucks.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_01]: going on a road trip or something like I'll indulge because it just makes me feel like like fall.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_01]: And obviously, as you can see and you guys will see throughout the football season, I am a huge hoodie guy.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_01]: I have a whole side of my closet that is all hoodies and shout out to homage.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you guys know about homage.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_01]: They're officially licensed.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_01]: They have partnered with built in Buffalo over the years just like promoting all their stuff.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_01]: They have the cool starter jackets and things like that and they're sending me a goody package.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm going to have even more hoodies.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm definitely a hoody guy like you said I probably 99% of the time I go out.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_01]: I have a hat on I just.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's that time I'm I'm I'm pushing 50 so it's that time where it's like I don't really care about what my hair looks like so But we have a we have a pack show and but Dave you never you never mentioned your favorite season here oh it's it's probably It depends right in California it's definitely winter because I like rain I like the rainy season and we don't get snow here it gets in the 40s maybe but I like
- 3:24[SPEAKER_01]: If I'm in on the east coast when I lived in Buffalo, obviously, where I'm important raised, I love winter because it makes the holidays feel a lot more special.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_01]: But now, I feel like when that weather breaks and it gets cooler and you could pull out the hoodies and you can open up the windows and you don't have to crank the air conditioning or you don't have to turn the heat on yet.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_01]: I like fall, fall, I guess would be my favorite now.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: Plus it's a start of football and hockey.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_01]: It just kind of feels like that natural transition into, you know, my favorite time of year, which is football season obviously.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, so I guess fall for me, Greg likes being sweaty outside.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: So if you guys didn't have that on your bingo card now, you could put that on your bingo card.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_01]: So the bills.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_01]: put out peak-a-welly, the bills, CFO, I think he's a CEO of, I'm not sure what his official title is, but he put out a poll.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_01]: And I had a feeling watching the pre-season games without anything in the end zone's really, it was just very vanilla, it was still the grass, it was just kind of outlined.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: I felt like this is what they were gonna do when they, and after they got the backlash from the jerseys, the nickel city jerseys,
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: watching those preseason games and there was nothing on the end zones.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, all right, are they just going to unveil something on the home opener?
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: Are they going to get like a fan experience for that?
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: So, Peacouelli put out a poll this morning with four pictures.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_01]: One is the plain end zone with just the word bills in it.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: One is a plain end zone with the color.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was a blue colored bills end zone, the words, the other one was blue and the other one was red.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_01]: By a landslide, it's red.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_01]: The, like, I feel like that to a lot of the old school bills fans, we had the red end zones back in the 90s with the red helmets.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_01]: So what's, what's your take on this?
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: Are you?
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: Do you care, do you need to have something special?
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: Do you need to have red, blue?
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: Like what's your, what's your go to bills and zone color?
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: So my, this will probably change based on a day you ask me.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: And the more I think about this, right, the red is in nostalgia.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's what I picture when I think of the Ralph.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: Got the red, I got, you know, read walking into it.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think I'm at blue.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm trying to like, will the blue look good on natural grass with the seeds and the fans and all that I think I think a dark blue right is what I'm going for I think it's going to stand out, especially at prime time games I think a pop a little bit more and I think that's where I'm I'm at with it.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_01]: I, you know, I'm torn because I like new stuff, but I also like paying homage to the history of the team.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like, not just peak gueli, but Terry Pagula and the ownership up there.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like they kind of get stuck in this vortex of how much of.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_01]: the nostalgia do we want to give them, or how much of a new era do we want to give them?
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: Like we're trying new things like we want to establish this era, the Josh Allen era of newness, right?
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: The new stadium stuff like that.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_01]: And I felt for a while that that's why they haven't given us the red helmets more than just once last year and then once this year is because they're trying to push
- 7:02[SPEAKER_01]: the 1990s now that's a huge part of their fan base obviously is like yourself and me like we've been fans since the 90s so we've been there so I don't know it's tough like I honestly if they do read I think it would look cool
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: They're not going to be at home when they wear the red helmets.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to be on the road and Denver on Christmas.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_01]: So if they do red, you know, how's it going to look aesthetically probably pretty cool.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_01]: If they do blue.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_01]: I won't be mad.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_01]: As long as it's just not plain and it's just colored letters.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_01]: They got to have some kind of colored ends on.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_01]: So let us know in the chat what you guys think.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_01]: If you're watching this live, drop it in the chat.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_01]: If you're watching after we're live and you're in the comments section, put your your colors.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_01]: Do you want blue?
- 7:46[SPEAKER_01]: Do you want red?
- 7:46[SPEAKER_01]: Do you care?
- 7:47[SPEAKER_01]: You know, does it matter when they're scoring touchdowns?
- 7:49[SPEAKER_01]: If they win the game?
- 7:50[SPEAKER_01]: So.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, I'm looking at the pictures right now, right?
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: I'm scrolling through them for options.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_00]: Green and zone with the white letters to boring.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's too plain to me, right?
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: So I would toss that out.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: Blue, I think it looks really sharp.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: Contrast the logo a bit feel pretty well.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: Red, again, nostalgia.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: I keep going back.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think the blue pops and again, the blue letters with the green end zone, just the natural grass end zone.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's too homogenized.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: That's the right word to use here.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: Just a lot of green.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think you want to separate that a little bit more.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: What about this from next 716?
- 8:25[SPEAKER_01]: Give me one end zone red in the other end zone blue.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_01]: That'd be kind of cool.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if the legal allowed them to do that, honestly.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's a really good question.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_01]: That's yeah, that's something I don't know if somebody in the chat can look that up and see if that's allowed.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: That would be pretty neat though.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I don't know, man.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I,
- 8:44[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, like I try to stay away from anything red because I just have Kansas City Chiefs PTSD and you know, I'm saying like everybody wants like the red, like the color rush red uniforms, I'm not a fan of, like they were cool when they first came out, you know, in the mid 2010s when they started wearing them.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_01]: But I just I don't know like I feel like the bills are blue like the bills colors are blue first and then white and red, you know, there's still always going to be red way blue, but I feel like it's that blue first and then everything else so I guess I guess I'm a traditionalist and I like I like the blue so I'll go with I want blue, but you know, whatever you guys want let us know in the chat, I feel like when I looked at the pole it was like a red hands down was
- 9:36[SPEAKER_01]: like the leading candidate.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_01]: And then I think Jeremy from WGR had a poll too and it was red hands down.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody's obsessed with red red helmets, red end zones.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: So I think it's that nostalgic feel.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: I think people want new stadium, but yet they want a piece of history as well to kind of
- 9:53[SPEAKER_01]: make things feel a little more like a homey touch to it.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_00]: So so here's the other thing to think about like the television product.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: So a lot of night games.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: You're always going to see the red heaters.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: So you've got that row of red in the stadium at the blue to me the blue contrast that a little bit right you make a pop on TV.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know to me.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: There's just something that I think it it just fits all the other stuff like balances very well.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_01]: What about this?
- 10:18[SPEAKER_01]: Zuba's end zones for one week.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'll sign up for one week thing.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think end-so-ins are tough because the rafster trying to focus on whether you get in and out, but with replay now, I can do Zubas.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_00]: I'll sign up for that for one week.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: I just think that just do it because I wanna see what it looks like.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_01]: Just, I don't even care if the bills just do it and then they take pictures and put it out and say, hey, what do we think?
- 10:40[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know if the NFL steps in and says, hey, like, we, that's too much.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's too much going on there.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: You know, imagine being the guy that paints that and I got, you know, your post comes to be like, hey, man, this week, we need to do Zubo Zubo Zubo.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_01]: Like, how do you even do that?
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: You stencil that out?
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I don't even, I can't even imagine you call somebody from Zubo's and they're just like, hey, can you come paint our end zones?
- 11:05[SPEAKER_01]: Like,
- 11:06[SPEAKER_01]: You know, by the way, it's not just, it's very large in scale.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: And then, by the way, you have to cut out the word bills in the middle of it.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: So, um, cool.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_01]: But if you guys saw the, the topic of the, the main topic of the show is going to be Can Joe Brady take the bills to the Super Bowl.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's been a hot button topic within the bills community, because there hasn't been a lot of first time-head coaches that have done it, right?
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: George C. Fertn.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_01]: And then,
- 11:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure of who the second one is.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'd have to Google it if I'm being honest.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_01]: I know George C for it did it, but he inherited a monster team.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, so we're going to do that.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_01]: But first, we wanted to start doing some sort of power ranking issue type things and we thought next week would be a good week to actually do
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: like AFC, 16 teams, all the whole power rankings.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_01]: We can go through and do record predictions and all that stuff too next week.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: But we're going to do the playoff seating.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to playoff seating from 1 to 7, 7 to 1.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: However, you want to look at it and have our teams in there.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_01]: And it's going to be a healthy discussion because talking pre-show, we already have a couple that are different on Greg's list and my list.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, full disclosure here we actually we just know there's a difference.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_00]: We have no idea what the difference is.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_00]: We don't know which teams are making the playoffs here.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: So it'll be.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, we shake out here.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, so and you guys in in the comment section two, you guys can put in there.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_01]: And I do want to say before we get going Greg, I want to say that.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_01]: the response that we've gotten in the community for the first two shows has been great.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_01]: We've gotten a lot of good feedback.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: Apparently people like to talk about Halloween decorations.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_01]: That was, that was a hot topic.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_01]: And so far this week, but the two shows we've done, Tuesday, Wednesday, have been well received on the platforms we've been on.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_01]: have done really well on YouTube.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_01]: So I appreciate that.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_01]: Let's keep the momentum going.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: You guys like the video, subscribe to the channel, hit the notification bell.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_01]: So you know, Greg and myself will be here Monday through Friday.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_01]: You know, going forward from noon, from noon until sometimes it'll be two hours, sometimes it'll be an hour, sometimes it'll be 90 minutes depending on our topics.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_01]: But we appreciate all the comments, all the feedback and we're going to try to keep doing this throughout the entire football season.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_01]: So with that being said, anything that we're discussing drop comments, we like to involve you guys in our conversation.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's super important, plus that helps us in the YouTube algorithm and we like being in the YouTube algorithm.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_01]: So, Greg, do you want to go first with numbers?
- 13:45[SPEAKER_01]: We should go seven to one, right?
- 13:47[SPEAKER_01]: That probably makes sense.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, let's thank you.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_00]: I'll throw them a seven out there and just kind of context what I'm setting this up here.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_00]: I'm looking a little bit at schedules, but I'm also looking at how much these division teams are going to beat up each other versus the weaker divisions, right?
- 14:07[SPEAKER_00]: So.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_00]: I've got the Broncos at number seven.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think the chiefs take the division.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_00]: I know a lot of people are not high on the chiefs.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: I think the chiefs are back this season.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think they will get through.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_00]: But again, we're looking at teams beating each other rapper.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: The chargers, the Broncos, you know, the chiefs.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're going to compile in there.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: So I've got, I'm not going to tell you where I've got the chiefs in the list.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_00]: But I've got the Broncos at seven.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_00]: I am not a,
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: huge bow next fan.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't really like him coming out of college.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_00]: He's better than I thought he would be, but I'm just I'm not sold on bow next.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_00]: I know they've got a good defense, but like, I don't know.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_00]: They should not have beaten the bills last year.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_00]: That I don't know.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_00]: And the sheet, I mean, everyone else had a down year in that division.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I have the Patriots at seven.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like
- 14:57[SPEAKER_01]: The Patriots got better this offseason, but so did the schedule, the schedule got a lot harder for the Patriots.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: I shouldn't say better, but harder.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like there's a lot more tape on Drake may now and I feel like.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_01]: What happened last year was kind of they kind of surprised a lot of people right.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to lie.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_01]: I had I had them being decent because we saw what Drake may was his first year, but I don't think anybody saw the jump that they were going to take into year two with Drake may so.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: Again, they have a really good head coach, so we know the team is going to be prepared, but I feel like they're going to take a little bit of a step back.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_01]: The offensive line has some questions.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like defensively they're going to be fine, but I feel like about 11 wins for them.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_01]: And that's saying something, 11 wins is a step back, right?
- 15:52[SPEAKER_01]: I don't see a world where they win 14, 13, 14 games.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_01]: The schedules weigh too tough and they they could start to season very easily one
- 16:01[SPEAKER_01]: two and two and three.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_01]: So they have a tough start.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_01]: Just like the bills do.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_01]: So I have the Patriots at seven.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I don't have them when in the AFC East.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_01]: And that's not a Homer take.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's just what I believe.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_01]: So all right, who do you have at six?
- 16:16[SPEAKER_00]: I've got the pads at six.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_01]: So we're close.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think the schedule is going to catch up with that they have a couple.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, softball games compared to the bills.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_00]: I don't
- 16:29[SPEAKER_00]: going to the Super Bowl and having the easier of the Flex games, if you will, but taking a step back, I think when he was coming out, I'm like a low tier starter, maybe a really good back up.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_00]: He's probably a little bit better than I thought he would be, but I'm still not 100% sold in the guy.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_00]: schedule last year right I want to talk about it that team should not have been in the Super Bowl Cupcakes.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think that team has got them better But I've just I've got the bills win in the division.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're just a far and way a better team But I think the Patriots gonna regress a little bit.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_00]: They're gonna get caught up to I have the Jaguars at 6.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_00]: Okay Okay, I think
- 17:13[SPEAKER_01]: I think the Jaguars are a good team.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're a really well-coached team.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_01]: I still don't trust Trevor Lawrence.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're good enough to make the playoffs.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_01]: And when you have seven teams out of 16, almost half the field makes the playoffs,
- 17:30[SPEAKER_01]: They could win 10 games and make the playoffs.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_01]: The AFC is is a really tough conference.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like if you stack the AFC up against the NFC, there's a lot more top heavy teams in the AFC than in the NFC.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_01]: But I feel like last year, first time I had Coach Liam Cohen, I feel like they have something going offensively.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't know how much I can trust.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_01]: Trevor Lawrence, we saw what happened against the bills.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_01]: Now, say what you want, but there's times when I feel like he struggles in big game situations.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_01]: So I think they could still win 10 games.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_01]: I think that the AFC South decides the Texans, who we haven't even talked about.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think that's it.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_01]: I think that it's Indianapolis and, I mean, so yeah, I have the Jaguars at six.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_01]: better team in that division, just based off of what they've built defensively how they played last year.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I know they have concerns on offense, but we'll get the Texans in a minute, but yeah, I have the Jaguars at six.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_00]: So what do you have at five?
- 18:43[SPEAKER_00]: I've got the Ravens at five.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_00]: I was really big on the Ravens last year, going into the season, I'm telling all my friends, and when I'm talking to them, I'm like, this is the team to watch, right?
- 18:54[SPEAKER_00]: And they just laid an egg.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if the bill's game, I mean, they should've been in the bills week one, right?
- 18:59[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if that game just took it out of them.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_00]: Not a hardball fan, I think you cost them that game, probably cost them another game a lot of ways.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_00]: Lamar again and hurt.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_00]: I'm big on the Ravens.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm bigger on the bangles.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_00]: So I've got that as the 5C, but I'm all in on the Ravens this year.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_00]: So I've got that mid 5.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_00]: Our lists are way off.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_01]: You guys are watching this live because we didn't even discuss this before we decided this was the topic.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_01]: So this is cool.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_01]: I have the Chargers at five.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like they're say what you want about Harbo.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like he's a really good coach.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_01]: And I think Mike McDaniel with Justin Herbert is going to be, it's going to be scary to watch.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like Justin Herbert should have been the quarterback he had all along in Miami.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like now he's going to get his hands on Justin Herbert and I feel like offensively they're going to be really, really good.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_01]: Justin Herbert is phenomenal.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a, it stinks that he's never been able to play in big game situations and the times that he has made the postseason, the team hasn't been good.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_01]: A good enough to, you know, pull it out.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I have the chargers at five.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_01]: Again, the AFC West to me,
- 20:19[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, I don't think that it is, I'm not, I'm not as high on the chiefs.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it's, as you are.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_01]: And you'll, you'll see as we go through this, what I think about the chiefs.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, that's really like we were picking out teams from that division.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's really to me, it comes down like how good do you think the chiefs are right?
- 20:39[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm looking at the chargers and I'm like, I really like the chargers, like just the Herbert, I think Mike Daniel is the perfect coach for that guy.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_00]: You've got weapons there.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_00]: I've got questions on the offensive line, but it's really coming down to
- 20:51[SPEAKER_00]: like one of these three teams, the Broncos Chargers or Chiefs, someone's getting left out and who's it going to be?
- 20:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: I've got the Chargers missing because of the offensive line, because I think the Chiefs are going to be better.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_00]: If the Chiefs aren't good, I would put the Chargers in there, you know, probably is division winners, but I'm just I'm not sold on, you know, there's really, but again, I'm higher on the Chiefs.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think, you know,
- 21:15[SPEAKER_00]: They could very well not have a bounce back here.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's very possible.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_00]: Defense has still has question marks.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_00]: Offends a line, still question marks.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't know if I have belief in any read.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the three teams in the three teams in the West, the AFC West are, I mean, I don't think anybody's going to really count too much on the Raiders doing much of anything.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, they're rebuilding Kirk Cousins is starting over Fernando Mendoza, which makes no sense to me.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_01]: You're rebuilding just let him play.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that those three teams depending on what Patrick Mahomes we get,
- 21:50[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like, you know what I mean?
- 21:52[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I feel like that's gonna determine a lot.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_01]: So, but no, I'm with you.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_01]: Who do you have at number four?
- 21:59[SPEAKER_00]: So I've got the chiefs of four.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_00]: I think they pulled it a vision out.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's gonna be close.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_00]: They're gonna be, in my opinion, obviously the worst of the division winners.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_00]: But they do have weak to see the roster.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think my homes will be fine.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_00]: It's far enough quarterbacks.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_00]: Typically, like he's not much in the running much anymore.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_00]: Anyways, but quarterbacks, typically come back from the ACLs a little bit easier right because they're not cutting as much.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_00]: more drop back.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_00]: He's still a good quarterback.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_00]: Kelsey seems to be on the decline, but he kind of picked it up the second half of the year last year.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_00]: I still think they're off and so be fine.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_00]: They have a running back now, which they really did not have a great one last few years.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's going to help them.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_00]: especially in the passing game right you can dump that off.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that'll be good enough on defense, right?
- 22:45[SPEAKER_00]: It's never been a super strong suit.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_00]: They just kind of come through when they need to.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_00]: But like I'm looking at and going, all right, again, we're beating up the other teams here.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_00]: Are they better than chargeers?
- 22:56[SPEAKER_00]: I think so.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_00]: It's a coin for me.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's a coin for the all right.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_00]: One of those two teams are going to knock each other out.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I have the Texans at four.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_01]: I have them win in the AFC South.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_01]: And I think what they started last year, picking up momentum that defense.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_01]: At the fence of the line is insane.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_01]: And then you add your debut in Clownie and there as your third defensive rotation and slash outside linebacker, those guys, the defense, the entire, almost the entire defense has been together for three years.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_01]: This will be their third year.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_01]: Their secondaries intact.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_01]: They are a little banged up to start the season.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_01]: But I think once they get healthy, they can be good.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_01]: Now it all depends on CJ stroud, right?
- 23:38[SPEAKER_01]: Like what's the offense going to look like?
- 23:40[SPEAKER_01]: Is it going to be the seven turnovers in the postseason CJ stroud or is it going to be
- 23:46[SPEAKER_01]: The rookie or CJ Stroud that looked really good and looked like he was on an upward trajectory.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_01]: But I think the defense is going to win them a ton of games.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_01]: If you look at the Super Bowl, look at what the Seahawks did to the Patriots.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_01]: If you can play that style, it's going to keep you in games at least.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_01]: So your defense.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_01]: are your offense just needs to do enough.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_01]: Now it's not going to win you a ton of games with just defense, but it's going to keep your in games so that your offense can manage in score just enough to win games.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_01]: And it's probably they're probably going to have some ugly games.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_01]: And I think we one might be one of those games where it's like two teams haven't played yet.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_01]: Like we don't know.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_01]: the strategies for me, their teams.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_01]: We don't know the game plans.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_01]: We don't know if the bill's offense is gonna look completely different.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_01]: We don't know what to expect from the bill's defense.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_01]: The same thing, we don't know what to expect from Houston's offense.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_01]: We know what we're gonna get from their defense, right?
- 24:40[SPEAKER_01]: So, and I feel like a lot of the games for them this year are gonna be kind of like just score 17 and get,
- 24:47[SPEAKER_01]: some stops on defense and we're going to win games.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_01]: And I think they can do that.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_01]: That defense is pretty legit.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_01]: And it's worrisome when you have to play them in a big spot.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_01]: I should say so.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_01]: All right, who do you have at three?
- 25:01[SPEAKER_00]: I've got the bills at three and I don't think this is an indictment that they are the third best team in the AFC.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's more of an indictment of their schedule.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_00]: A lot harder than some other teams and I think it's just going to kind of shake it.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to lose a game here and there against a really good team where other you look at someone like Jacksonville, much easier schedule, right?
- 25:23[SPEAKER_01]: If you've got a good team with that.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 25:27[SPEAKER_00]: I've got the bills at three.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think obviously winning the division, maybe by a game or two, I think, y'all, I would love to see a sweep on the page, Ritz, you win those two games.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think you got this thing running away, but even if you split those, right?
- 25:39[SPEAKER_00]: You just take care of business, I think you'll be fine.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_00]: But I got them at three, and, you know, hopefully they get up to a one, but I think the schedule is gonna, I think the schedule is gonna, kind of do a minute a little bit from that standpoint.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_01]: I have the Broncos at three.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a huge believer in bone nicks, but I believe in Sean Peyton.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_01]: And I believe that he's a really good coach.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_01]: He's a really good offensive-minded coach.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_01]: They pick up Jalen Wattle, they have Portland Sutton.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_01]: The defense we know about the defense, right?
- 26:15[SPEAKER_01]: Almost set the league record for Sachs last year, unless they were close.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like that group is together again.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_01]: They didn't lose too many guys off their for tiffery agents.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_01]: The Broncos have a defense that Sean Payton wanted when he was in New Orleans, and I feel like that's a tough out for anybody.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_01]: Now, you could say what you want about Bonyx, there's people that are pro-Bonyx, there's people that are anti-Bonyx, I'm kind of in the middle.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have an overarching opinion on where the other.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that he was the reason they beat the bills and the playoffs, if that
- 26:53[SPEAKER_01]: make sense.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like the bill's defense kind of just gave up way too many big plays down the stretch.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_01]: But I think that Bo Knicks is a decent top 15 quarterback in the NFL and I feel like
- 27:04[SPEAKER_01]: that was Sean Payton in now, Boatick's going into year three.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_01]: I think you see more progression.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_01]: You see more growth.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_01]: And I like what they did this off season.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_01]: So I have them when in the AFC West.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like that's going to be a tough out for anybody.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_01]: And yes, they were the number one seed last year.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of people said that they didn't really deserve it.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_01]: But I feel like it's a really good team.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_01]: And I think a lot of people are overlooking
- 27:32[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the aspect of how well they're coached in that make that makes a difference to me.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_01]: So I have the the Broncos at three and I feel like that's going to be a tough out for anybody.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_01]: So who do you have at number two?
- 27:46[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so we're probably we're probably oh, maybe not.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_00]: I've got the so I've got Jacksonville too.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_00]: And again, I think this is more for me.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_00]: It's more an indictment of the schedule than anything.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think they've got they have some pretty easy games first couple.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_00]: They start with Cleveland, but the first couple.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_00]: Like they could beat New England, not a problem.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_00]: They've got a couple of tough ones in there.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_00]: The one does, but by and large, right, week division, they should sweep Tennessee.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_00]: They've got some cupcakes on the rest of their schedule.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_00]: So I think to me, it's more of an indictment.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_00]: And I am not sold on Houston.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not in its board of indictment on CJ Stratt.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think they have the offensive weapons.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_00]: They have a good defense.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's like you said it's going to keep them in some games going to win them some games.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that's sustainable enough to get them through the year, especially if you don't get good quarterback play.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_00]: So again, I kind of like we're backing our way into division winners here, but I think Jacksonville backs her way into by ease of schedule into winning that division and taking the two seed.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_00]: I have the ravens that too.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_01]: I think
- 28:51[SPEAKER_01]: And you're going to see why obviously that tells you who's number one, right?
- 28:57[SPEAKER_01]: So I have the Ravens at number two because I feel like with a new head coach there, I feel like there is a new sense of, I don't want to say it's.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_01]: Harba was like there forever, so it was like kind of my way or the highway type thing.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're going to be sort of invigorated again.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to be renewed, right?
- 29:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think Lamar Jackson's going to be healthy and say what you want about Lamar Jackson.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about this yesterday.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_01]: We don't have to tear down other teams' quarterbacks to prop up our own guy.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_01]: Lamar Jackson's a hell of a quarterback.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_01]: He's just a hell of an athlete, period.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_01]: So I, I feel like he's going to be back.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_01]: They have a new coach who's probably going to have, you know, and still this new culture that he wants.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like you're probably getting the last season of Derek Henry.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_01]: The offense is still going to be decent.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_01]: Zay Flowers is still there.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_01]: So their, their defense is always good.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_01]: I just think that last year was just one of those, like, look at what the chiefs did last year, right?
- 29:59[SPEAKER_01]: They missed a playoffs because they just played, they just didn't play good.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_01]: and all of those one score games at the cheap for winning the year before they just couldn't pull them out this.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_01]: So I feel like with the ravens I feel like
- 30:10[SPEAKER_01]: they're not really rebuilding, but they're trying to get back to what they were good at.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like Lamar Jackson is due for another really good season.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_01]: If you look at him throughout his career, it kind of is it's every other year.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_01]: Is they year that he just jumps off the page with what stats and his play.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_01]: So I feel like they'll be back and I feel like they're going to be a pain in the ass.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like they're going to be that team that we're looking at at the top of the conference all
- 30:39[SPEAKER_01]: Watching box scores and watching games to see who they're playing and how they're doing and stuff like that.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_01]: So I have I have the Ravens at number two All right, all right number one my number one.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_00]: You don't even have in the playoffs.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_00]: They're out bangles Yep
- 30:56[SPEAKER_00]: So I think the bangles, obviously, we could talk about defense.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_00]: We do every single year.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_00]: I think they did get better on defense this year.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_00]: I got a coach who's probably on the hot seat right now.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_00]: But Joe Burrow stays healthy.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_00]: He's still got two amazing receivers to throw to.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_00]: Guys, just a damn good quarterback.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_00]: It just, it is what it is.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_00]: And when he plays
- 31:20[SPEAKER_00]: they score, can the defense rebound?
- 31:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think it can.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think it'll be serviceable enough.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we talked about the Ravens last year, which, you know, again, defense really let them down.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_00]: They were just giving up points.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_00]: Like it was going on a style.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, if they continue that way, there's no reason, uh, Cincinnati can't just take them.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_00]: So, I'm a burrow fan.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a Chase fan.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a Higgins fan.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think the offense can win.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_01]: I just, I struggled keeping them out of the playoffs because, I don't know, I just can't trust that team has finally figured it out defensively.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_01]: I just, I don't think that the coaching staff and the scouting department and the GM has finally figured out, all right, we got a defense that,
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: Joe Burrow doesn't need to throw 50 passes a game for 450 yards because we're trailing in the third and fourth quarter of every single game.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why I love Joe Burrow, but if you look at a lot of his stats, it's because they can't, they literally can't run the ball because they are losing all the time.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_01]: Now, there's games obviously that doesn't happen, but
- 32:34[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, I just, I think Joe Burroughs, a fantastic quarterback, Jamar Hayes and Jamar Chase and T. Higgins.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_01]: I think the best one to probably in the NFL.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_01]: You can argue about that.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_01]: But I just, I don't trust them.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_01]: I don't trust their coach.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_01]: I don't trust the defense until we see it, I guess.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of like, it's kind of like the unknown, right?
- 32:57[SPEAKER_01]: Like we don't know.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_01]: if the additions that they've made and the investments that because they lost tray Hendrickson.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_01]: So I know that I know they made some additions, but they lost their best defensive player this offseason.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_01]: So the offensive lines always a concern.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_01]: I know that they've tried to address that.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_01]: Joe Burrow like he's won.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_01]: inch one sack away from you know missing time and that's the thing with joe burrow like he's missed time like almost every season where it's an extended amount of time so can you trust him to play 17 games so I don't know I have the bills that at number one and that's not a homework take I think that and we kind of touched on it yesterday and we'll talk a little bit more about tomorrow I feel like
- 33:46[SPEAKER_01]: Without sounding like I'm trying to dog Sean McDermott or talk bad about him, I feel like there was some restrictor plates on this team with Sean McDermott, and I'm talking offensively.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like if you need to score 40, go score 40.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_01]: Right, if you're in a game where you just want to go score 40 points because you're concerned about the opposing teams offense and how you match up defensively.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_01]: Instead of trying to make everything so complicated on defense, just play the game score points get out with the win move on the next week.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I'm not saying that's going to work every single week, but I feel like as the season progresses.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_01]: the defense is going to get better.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like once these guys get used to this scheme and they start getting put in the right positions, you know, week over week over week.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_01]: We know what the offense is going to be.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_01]: No matter if it's the bills are like the last two years and they rely heavily on James Cook or they revert back to the 2020 Brian Dave all bills and Josh's throw on the ball over the field, we might have to deal with some more turnovers but they're going to score points.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like this offense is going to score a ton of points
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: If everybody knock on Woodstay's healthy.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_01]: the concaids and the wide receiver stay healthy.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like this would probably be a top three offense in the NFL, which means you're going to win a lot of games because you're going to score 30 points.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_01]: So I feel like this is kind of a bittersweet for me because it's something that Sean McDermott was never able to do in his tenure.
- 35:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's something that we haven't seen in a very, very, very, very long time.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's just par for the course you get the new head coach, you're at the new stadium and you host all your all your playoff games.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like that's just I just feel like the writing is on the wall because people are saying, well, they're going to take a step back and this kind of bleeds perfectly into the next topic, which we'll get to in a second.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_01]: The bills are going to take a step back because they have a new coach, they have new defense, a lot of moving parts on the defensive side, you know, Joe Brady's got a ton of pressure on him, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it's as difficult as people are making it out to be for Joe Brady to be highly successful this season.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_01]: So, all right, what do you think about my number one?
- 36:13[SPEAKER_01]: I told you what I thought about the Bengals.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think about the bills?
- 36:16[SPEAKER_01]: The number one
- 36:17[SPEAKER_00]: So as a fan, I love it.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I'm going to go back to me.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_00]: It's the indictment of the schedule, man.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_00]: If they get a number one seed looking at the teams, they have to play, look out, right, because you already got the Rams who very well could be in the Superl for the NFC, but
- 36:38[SPEAKER_00]: look out man like this team it would be firing in all cylinders if they get a one see that means I mean what do we think the second best record in the conference is going to be right someone's going to win the I mean they're going to lose four games right and that might be your number two seed could be your number one seed I mean the bills are going you know 14 and three maybe 13 and four they could lose four I mean theoretically they could lose four games in the first you don't have the season and then kind of
- 37:07[SPEAKER_00]: backtrack from there.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_00]: So, I don't know, I have a hard time just seeing it.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_00]: Like, it's the NFL.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_00]: You always get the freak fumble or the freak interception or, you know, Alan gets a ball tip that the Linus Grimmage gets picked and kind of ruins the day.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, every, every team has that, but, I don't know, you're one injury away, but I don't know.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_00]: The schedule is just so damn tough for the bills this year and I think even if they win, you know, 80% of those tough games, you still get the ones that you're going to lose were other teams have cupcakes, you know, so that's my, so I'll go back to the bangles here, right, and kind of do this for the bills comparison.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think we too, they play Houston.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_00]: They could beat them.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_00]: I think, you know, the concerns about the offensive line, which has been a turned style for the last couple of years in Cincinnati, we'll get a pretty good sense of like what their, their season is going to stay about to that kilburo there, but like their schedule is
- 38:05[SPEAKER_00]: I would trade with them in a heartbeat, and they got, you know, Tampa Bay, you got Jackson, you got Miami, you got Tennessee, Atlanta, you know, Pittsburgh, we both have missed in the playoff.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_00]: We got Cleveland in there, we've got, you know, twice you got Indianapolis, Carolina, like you could sleep walk through 12 wins on this game, just get you for the games, right?
- 38:25[SPEAKER_00]: So I think the bills have a pretty uphill climb, just to match the other teams there.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_00]: And again, doesn't mean they're not as good as the bangles, but that schedule is just scares me.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I can see a world two where bills fans are...
- 38:39[SPEAKER_01]: they're just the sky is falling because the first four games doesn't look good, but then the bills do what the bills do and then they just go on a heater for the rest of the season which you know I'm saying like they they're one and three in the sky is falling and they're looking up at the Patriots and maybe even the Jets with a winner too and then all of a sudden things start to click because we have to get we have to be prepared it's a long season right it's
- 39:05[SPEAKER_01]: We've seen some crazy stuff, we've seen them be six and six in out of the playoffs and then go 11 and six right and come back and win the division.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_01]: We've seen now a lot of the teams around them have gotten better, which kind of stinks because the bills finally got their their guy at quarterback.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_01]: And then now everybody else has got their guy at quarterback too right after the bills did.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_01]: So it was like, why can't we just have our Tom Brady moment and just win the AFC East every year.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_01]: Why does everybody else have to have their franchise quarterback?
- 39:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of frustrating, but one thing like you're talking about the Rams.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_01]: That's week five, by the way.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_01]: Josh Allen in those games, even if it's regular season, I don't want to hear anybody in the comments tell me, well, it's regular season.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_01]: Josh Allen shows up in those big games because I saw a lot of people talking about one Aaron Donald sign with the Rams.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_01]: This past week about oh my god, like the they're just gonna crush everybody and then I will I put out a thing that said week five and everybody was like Oh, yeah, the bills do play the rams week five and I'm like Josh Allen and those big games we've seen it time after time after time
- 40:14[SPEAKER_01]: where he's not the reason why they lose.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_01]: If they lose, like we saw what he did to Detroit, when Detroit was great, we saw them beat the chiefs, when the chiefs, I believe the chiefs, that was their first loss that year.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm never worried about those big games because I know who we have behind-center.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: And that's comforting to me to know that bring on all, and like Joe
- 40:40[SPEAKER_01]: All right, let us know that.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_00]: So that is probably the game, Dave, or we're going to figure out.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we got four games before that.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_00]: We'll figure out kind of what Joe Brady's doing.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, you've got a Houston test with a good defensive line.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_00]: And then you've got Miles Garrett and Aaron Donald on defensive line for LA.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to get a pretty good sense early about how he is scheming up to neutralize.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_00]: immense past rushes, right?
- 41:04[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to see more screens, whatever, but it's going to be a test for Joe Brady right out the gate here, those first five games, especially those two.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think the, the home opener on Thursday is going to be, I think it might just be a track meet.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_01]: I think that it's not going to be exactly what it was last time, but I feel like you're just going to see on top of the fact, and people don't want to hear this, the analytical people don't, don't want to hear this.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like the bills are going to want to put on a show in their home opener.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to want to come out firing on all cylinders, get that stadium involved early.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_01]: And let me ask you this, how do you feel, and this might be nothing, this might just be a coincidence, but the bills taking the ball and all three preseason games.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_01]: How do you feel about that?
- 41:49[SPEAKER_01]: Taking the ball first instead of McDermott's approach of we'd like to have
- 41:54[SPEAKER_01]: We try to get the last possession before the half.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_01]: And then the first possession after the half.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_01]: That's how McDermott always, he was always that first, the last four, first four guy.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why he deferred because he, he was playing the possession game.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_01]: Like if we can get them off the field, went sucked because they, you would just watch the opposing teams just go right down the field on the first drive and just, it's like a giveaway touchdown.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_01]: And he opened the drive.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_01]: So what's your thoughts, dude?
- 42:21[SPEAKER_01]: Does it matter, do you care?
- 42:23[SPEAKER_01]: Like is there an advantage of this advantage?
- 42:24[SPEAKER_01]: Like what's your thoughts?
- 42:26[SPEAKER_00]: So I know the common rationale for this is one, you want a double dip, but two, you have a better sense of what you need to do that for a possession of the second half.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_00]: You lose it by 21, you need to throw it out, right?
- 42:37[SPEAKER_00]: You need to be a little more aggressive.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_00]: But I know that's the rationale.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_00]: My wife is teasing me.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, how long it's going to be before you bring up flag football, right?
- 42:46[SPEAKER_00]: I am by nature.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_00]: I've been saying for 20 years, you should not pun, right?
- 42:50[SPEAKER_00]: I'm on this bit this trade.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_00]: I was following the guy, you know, the coach from Indiana, the high school, got to see him coach in college a couple of years ago when he took over a D3 school, got us in pun right?
- 43:01[SPEAKER_00]: And even when state championships, I've always been that guy, give me the ball first, right?
- 43:09[SPEAKER_00]: The argument generally holds up where, yeah, we want to, we want to get the ball and double dip there, but Like I want to maximize the possessions I have, I can guarantee myself the first possession.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_00]: You come in the second, like the end of the first half and the other team, like you said, they have the ball there, a lot of them know that, hey, the bills are getting in the ball after halftime, let's bleed the clock out what's slow play the thing to prevent them from double dipping and you lose that advantage if that happened.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_00]: So I want to guarantee myself as many possessions that they can because I trust my offense and I trust my quarterback.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_00]: Give me the ball.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_00]: And if I punt, I punt, like, figure it out, right?
- 43:45[SPEAKER_00]: But you're gonna punt at some point in the game anyways.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_00]: So I want the ball always, give it to me, let me run.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_00]: And I think if you have a new defense and you're concerned about the fit, the scheme, the players in there, learning in system, especially young players, corners like that, we talk about Detroit.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_00]: Like, let me put the pressure on Detroit rather having the pressure put on me because I know they're gonna be here in the battle of the place.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I understood the, we want the ball to start the second half because no matter what happens in the first half, we set the tone for the second half, right?
- 44:23[SPEAKER_01]: So if we're winning or losing, for losing by a lot or we're up, you know, by a lot, we can decide how the second half's going to be played out because we're going to start the second half.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_01]: I get that aspect of it.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_01]: But I also feel like if you have the best quarterback on the planet and you are proud of what you've been able to do offensively for the past few years, go out there and make a statement and make the other team play from behind the entire game.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_01]: Because I feel like this year's team might be different, but I feel like last year's Bill's team was
- 45:03[SPEAKER_01]: The last two years, actually, they were kind of designed to play with the lead.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_01]: Now, we did see Josh Allen do some miraculous things.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_01]: The game against the Patriots.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_01]: They came back, the game against the Bengals.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_01]: They came back.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_01]: There's a couple of handful others, but set the tone.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_01]: And that's, and now, I'll all reference this until I'm blue in the face.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_01]: But the 2020 bills offense just didn't give a shit.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_01]: They just, they wanted to score points.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_01]: what's six minutes left in the fourth quarter they were they're winning.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like they don't they didn't care they wanted to just do what they wanted to do because give your give the opposing team as much of a disadvantage as possible.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_01]: And if you can get the ball first you go down and score you set the tone now they need to cut they need to keep up with you.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_01]: If they come back and score cool now you have the ball again and I love the double dipping aspect, but
- 45:58[SPEAKER_01]: The first half can play out in so many different ways to where you can kick off or defer.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_01]: And you could still end up not getting the ball to end the half.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, you know, I mean, like you're playing poker that way.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know, it doesn't.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_01]: I think Joe Brady is trying, and this again, you talked yesterday about like, there's been little like picks at the Sean McDermott era.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like Joe Brady taking the ball first is that's on purpose.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like there's there's a reason why he's doing that.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_01]: And it's to set a tone okay we're going to play football different.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to play the game different.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_01]: It may be just a little thing that you might not think about, but we're we're going to get the ball first and we're going to let our offense handle the ball first.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_00]: So what here's the other common sense.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_00]: I say it's common sense, but it's obvious to me, right?
- 46:49[SPEAKER_00]: Like I want to set the tone or I want to guarantee maximize my possessions taking the ball first does that well what if you punk reg right well then I put if I'm giving them the ball if I'm deferring and I'm giving them the ball to start the game.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'm expecting the stop, right?
- 47:05[SPEAKER_00]: I'm expecting not to give up points there and then get the ball back.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_00]: So even if I go through now and I punt, my expectation regardless of whether I'm taking the ball or deferring it is I'm going to stop there for a possession.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_00]: So to me, that argument just doesn't hold true.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, well, if we defer, we expect to stop, but if we take the ball, we expect to miss score, that doesn't hold up, it's one way or the other, you expect to stop, I'm going to stop.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's why I said, like, you could no matter what, like, so I'd be getting ready to watch the game and bills deferred.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, all right, so we're down seven, nothing.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_01]: Because like literally, and I, I don't want to, I don't want to make fun of it, but like, or poke fun at anybody.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_01]: But like, it was, I mean, there was times, yes, they got off the field, but the first series against the Panthers.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_01]: The bill's got a three and out on defense.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, holy cow, what does that even look like?
- 48:04[SPEAKER_01]: Like the first, and I know it's preseason.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's the first preseason game, but end Carolina.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_01]: So I mean, it is what it is, but it's like, you could always count.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_01]: Like, all right, there's a huge run play.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_01]: They scored.
- 48:20[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, they took six minutes.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_01]: So the balls are going to get the ball.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, Josh.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get us back back in the game.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's, and I don't know.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, maybe it's just how that was set up.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe there's then there's people that I've talked to about this that said that a lot of the first series builds defensive drives would set up what they would do for the rest of the game.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_01]: They're trying to see because the first drive for both teams offensively is scripted, right?
- 48:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's what you've practiced the most and throughout the week to prepare for that team and everything is clicking because you've done it and the repetitions are there.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_01]: So a lot of people have said, well, that's the bill is trying to figure out what they want to do.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know, it is what it is, but
- 49:04[SPEAKER_01]: Let us know what you guys think.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_01]: Do you like our rankings?
- 49:07[SPEAKER_01]: Do you agree?
- 49:07[SPEAKER_01]: Do you disagree?
- 49:08[SPEAKER_01]: Who is your number one seed?
- 49:10[SPEAKER_01]: What team is to make the playoffs?
- 49:11[SPEAKER_01]: Drop some comments.
- 49:12[SPEAKER_01]: Again, like the video.
- 49:14[SPEAKER_01]: If you're on YouTube, subscribe if you're on Facebook, share.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_01]: I always drop comments.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_01]: If you're watching during the show or after and we will try to respond to them as we see them.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and they've just to recap for anyone that may be jumped in late.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if we should chat this, whatever.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_00]: My top seven from one down is Bangles, Jacksonville, bills, chiefs, ravens, Patriots, Broncos, yours were bills, ravens, Broncos, Texans, chargers, jags, paths.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yep, so if anybody wants to discuss who's got the better list, who's crazy, who thinks Dave's nuts because they're going to get the one seed, who thinks that Greg's nuts because he thinks the Bengals are going to get the one seed.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_01]: Have that.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_01]: All right, main topic of the show, can Joe Brady want a super bowl in your one?
- 50:04[SPEAKER_01]: And that seems like a very easy question to answer.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_01]: And Greg was texting earlier saying, let's just have one word answers and just end the podcast.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_01]: But I do think this is something that I've seen a lot of the bills podcasts who's talking about in the content creators, talking about the past, you know, week or so.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_01]: Because the national media always has the narrative.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be too tough for this coach to do it near one.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_01]: And then they'll bring up, you know, the Ben Johnson's in the Liam Cohen's who turned those organizations around in one year.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_01]: So Greg, I'll ask you how much pressure is on Joe Brady to not just win, but get further than they did last year.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_01]: and win the big one.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_01]: And then you can kind of take that into the whole Joe pretty conversation, however you want to spin that.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so can he win the short answer?
- 50:59[SPEAKER_00]: As absolutely he's got a great quarterback.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_00]: He's taken over a good team.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think the unknowns are the things we've been talked about last couple days schemes, defensive structure.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_00]: As far as pressure, I think the
- 51:15[SPEAKER_00]: Looking, again, my point with the schedule, which does soften up in the second half of the year, but you've got the Patriots now charging, you've got other teams that are very capable of making the playoffs that if they do not win the division, they're going to be in a race just like they were last year for it.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think the pressure comes in, make the damn playoffs, right?
- 51:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's the pressure seeing as how many potentially good teams there are that you're going to have to combat with.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think the pressure to go further than McDermott to me this year.
- 51:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think he gets a little bit of a pass because he brought in a new defensive coordinator.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_00]: They've got new players.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_00]: They've got, you mentioned this yesterday, right?
- 51:56[SPEAKER_00]: The roster build for the last couple years is a different approach in the roster build right now.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_00]: And sometimes it just does take a year and you know, maybe his offense is going to go.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_00]: pedal to the metal to make up for any deficiencies you have in defense.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_00]: So I think this year he gets a pass as long as he makes a playoff so he gets a pass for maybe not going as far.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think next year, if he doesn't make the super all this year, though, next year, it's going to be super ballad boss, like it's going to be on it because, yeah, I mean, the Google, right, we made the change because we had a great roster and decent coach, like good coaching, right, but they wanted the flip to script on that, what I would argue about the roster, uh, build, but, you know, canny, I think he's got one of your great spirit, but he's got to make the playoffs.
- 52:42[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to get torched if he misses the playoffs this year.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm torn because I think we're gonna find out.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think you can, yes.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_01]: I absolutely think that the bills can win the Super Bowl this year.
- 52:56[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like the bills have, I mean, a lot of fans feel this way.
- 52:59[SPEAKER_01]: They should have won the Super Bowl already.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_01]: I think 13 seconds, and I don't want to keep bringing this up.
- 53:05[SPEAKER_01]: The way that Josh Allen was playing in that postseason, remember that's, I have the post around my wall, the perfect game from New England, and then that chiefs game, Josh Allen was diabolical that postseason.
- 53:16[SPEAKER_01]: Like he was just on a completely, I think he had nine touchdowns, no interceptions.
- 53:22[SPEAKER_01]: He was just on another level.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 53:25[SPEAKER_01]: We just saw and we're going to do a whole show tomorrow about Josh Allen, we'll probably sprinkle in some top 100 because he came in at number two, but he's the highest rated quarterback and we're going to talk about his prime and stuff like that.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_01]: We'll do a whole show on it tomorrow.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_01]: But I feel like when you have him, you have seven or eight wins, just even if your defense is poor.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_01]: So if you get a middle of the road defense this year, they're just 16th in the NFL, or maybe even 15th in the NFL as far as points allowed, yards allowed, stuff like that.
- 53:57[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like you win 12 games, because Josh Allen's gonna do things we saw, and we've talked about already stuff that he did last year, stuff he did in 24 when he won MVP.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_01]: You're gonna win those games, but I also think that we're gonna learn
- 54:14[SPEAKER_01]: How much Sean McDermott was the glue of this franchise?
- 54:19[SPEAKER_01]: I think we're gonna learn how much of the winning culture was held together by Sean McDermott.
- 54:27[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not saying that they can't win without him, of course they can't.
- 54:30[SPEAKER_01]: But how much of the little things that we don't get to see in a daily basis are gonna come to light because he's not there anymore.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_01]: We've seen differences in how the team, I like how the team vibe is right now and I hate the word vibe because you can be used in so many different ways.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_01]: But the things that they're outwardly showing that the team is doing as far as team building activities, the guys seem to be showing a lot more personality when they're being interviewed.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_01]: They're probably gonna have a bunch of captains this year where they only had two last year.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and again, it's not that I don't have faith into a Brady.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_01]: I do.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_01]: I think that a lot of people were mad because he, he has been there and they wanted change and now he's still there, but just in a different capacity, I feel like that's a good thing.
- 55:20[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like we suck a successful offense led by him that might have had a governor on it with Sean McDermott.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_01]: We don't know that for a fact, but we could get a completely different offense that could be even more dynamic.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_01]: with the additions of DJ more with a healthy, healthy, Dalton can cade.
- 55:36[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, can you do it?
- 55:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, then like you said, I feel like this year, there's gonna be a feeling out process once things get tough.
- 55:48[SPEAKER_01]: And we're going to learn a lot about Joe Brady, if things get tough, as far as if the team is struggling, if the team's losing games, if the team is fighting for the playoffs.
- 55:58[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to learn a lot about Joe Brady, but I think they'll make the playoffs.
- 56:01[SPEAKER_01]: I have them as the one seed.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like the beginning part of the season is going to be tough because they're figuring out the new defensive scheme.
- 56:07[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and we're still trying to, you know, inject this new offense or whatever and the schedule's hard.
- 56:13[SPEAKER_01]: So, but I feel like once they get through the divisional games, they still got to play the Jets and Dolphins twice.
- 56:18[SPEAKER_01]: That's four wins right there.
- 56:19[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, and there's some other, there's some other games on there that are very winnable.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_01]: So, I think they can't.
- 56:25[SPEAKER_01]: Let us know in the chat what you think if, if you think the bills can win the Super Bowl with Joe Brady again,
- 56:31[SPEAKER_01]: I think so, Greg thinks so.
- 56:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, other than that, anything else Greg, you wanna bring up before we get out of here for the day?
- 56:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I almost wonder, like what if this, obviously we all know those defenses a little bit of intransation, right?
- 56:46[SPEAKER_00]: Changing schemes, players, coach, philosophy, everything.
- 56:50[SPEAKER_00]: We know it's not built exactly what they want.
- 56:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think most fans will tell you they wanted that change, right?
- 56:58[SPEAKER_00]: They wanted to be more aggressive.
- 57:00[SPEAKER_00]: I do wonder if the offense is carrying this team and the defense is just not getting it done.
- 57:06[SPEAKER_00]: How much?
- 57:07[SPEAKER_00]: Heat might come on Joe Brady for the Jim Leonard hired.
- 57:11[SPEAKER_00]: Leonard is respected.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_00]: People's think he's going to be, you know, the next head coach, you know, in the next couple of years, one of these rising guys.
- 57:18[SPEAKER_00]: But I wonder if his defense is just, they're not getting it, right?
- 57:21[SPEAKER_00]: IGB doesn't progress.
- 57:23[SPEAKER_00]: Harrison's getting chewed up.
- 57:25[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he could run with a guy, but he's getting chewed up elsewhere.
- 57:27[SPEAKER_00]: He can't make tackles.
- 57:28[SPEAKER_00]: Our linebackers are in shambles.
- 57:30[SPEAKER_00]: Right, if Brady is going to start feeling these questions about, like, do you have the right defense?
- 57:34[SPEAKER_00]: Are you going to bring in, you know, someone else to kind of help him.
- 57:39[SPEAKER_00]: That's something where I think it's the things that can distract you, Brady potentially outside of offense is success could be the staff people together and how well they're actually doing on those things.
- 57:50[SPEAKER_00]: So something to watch for.
- 57:51[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, we know there's going to be bumps along the road with the defense, I think I want to expect it, but like if it gets if it turns bad.
- 57:59[SPEAKER_00]: That could fall in Joe Brady's head and see how it responds to that.
- 58:02[SPEAKER_00]: And that could pull away from the offensive, you know, scheming and stuff like that, too.
- 58:07[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if you look at what John Groen did with the buck and ears, he inherited that team.
- 58:12[SPEAKER_01]: and the next year they won the Super Bowl.
- 58:14[SPEAKER_01]: So, I mean, say we want about John Grouden like that, that happened, like you can inherit a good team and you just need to, and now he wasn't a first time head coach, Joe Brady's a first time head coach.
- 58:25[SPEAKER_01]: So, to me, the biggest thing is, I, you mentioned the defense and I like the fact that John Fox is on staff.
- 58:32[SPEAKER_01]: I like the fact that John Fox is a defensive assistant coach and he's been in big games when he was a coach of the Panthers, the Broncos, like he's been around and he's a he's a mind to have in that room that might be able to help him and I also think too that Jim Leonard said in a press conference months and months ago and it made a lot of people very concerned he said this is your one.
- 58:59[SPEAKER_01]: and we are implementing things for year one.
- 59:02[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not completely sure if I have everything that this defense requires to operate the way that I see it operating.
- 59:10[SPEAKER_01]: So that's a good point.
- 59:13[SPEAKER_01]: And I do think though that that might be why there's somewhat of a not a pass, but
- 59:22[SPEAKER_01]: you need to still be really competitive, but if you don't get further than you did last year as a team, we're gonna push it into 2027, it's fine.
- 59:31[SPEAKER_01]: Because they turned over some of the roster, right?
- 59:35[SPEAKER_01]: Look at all the defensive players that were starting games for the bills last year that are still free agents.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_01]: Joey Bosa, Matt Milano, Trevius White, Dequan Jones, the list goes on and on that are not on other teams.
- 59:48[SPEAKER_01]: So they've turned over the roster, they've brought in new additions, they've drafted some more guys.
- 59:52[SPEAKER_01]: They're developing the draft class from last year.
- 59:55[SPEAKER_01]: So I think it all depends on what this looks like and I just I feel comfortable whenever Josh Allen's under center.
- 1:00:04[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't I don't I don't like to talk about the like stuff with him having the longest active streak as a starter Josh Allen.
- 1:00:14[SPEAKER_01]: I just I don't ever like to think about that.
- 1:00:16[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like everyone to bring it up.
- 1:00:18[SPEAKER_01]: um, because you look at what happened to the chiefs last year.
- 1:00:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, they were out of the place, but then my homes still had a devastating injury.
- 1:00:26[SPEAKER_01]: Well, our Jackson was injured last year.
- 1:00:28[SPEAKER_01]: Joe Burroughs injured all the time.
- 1:00:29[SPEAKER_01]: So we have to remember that that is a driving force having 17 every single week, knowing that
- 1:00:39[SPEAKER_01]: Even though he might make a bone headed play, he's gonna give you 10 more plays that are gonna help you win games.
- 1:00:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like, just knowing that that consistency is there, I feel like that's gonna give the bills a ton of wins this year.
- 1:00:48[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, some job security for Joe Brady.
- 1:00:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:00:53[SPEAKER_01]: So that's all I got for today.
- 1:00:57[SPEAKER_01]: We're gonna be back tomorrow.
- 1:00:58[SPEAKER_01]: This was a good conversation.
- 1:01:00[SPEAKER_01]: You could rip apart our one through seven playoff rankings.
- 1:01:04[SPEAKER_01]: If you want, drop some comments.
- 1:01:05[SPEAKER_01]: If you're watching this after,
- 1:01:07[SPEAKER_01]: We're live, please drop some comments.
- 1:01:09[SPEAKER_01]: Again, like the video, we've, this is our third show now.
- 1:01:14[SPEAKER_01]: So we're still, Greg and myself are still, we're trying to figure out how to have banter back and forth.
- 1:01:22[SPEAKER_01]: We're trying to disagree.
- 1:01:23[SPEAKER_01]: I guess our list today was the most disagreeing we've done.
- 1:01:27[SPEAKER_01]: On and on Japan, which is good because it brings up healthy debates, and that's what we want here.
- 1:01:34[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, that's it.
- 1:01:36[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be back tomorrow.
- 1:01:37[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to have a whole episode, um, structured around Josh Allen, um, some key points.
- 1:01:43[SPEAKER_01]: How much time of prime Josh, do we have left, top 100, all that good stuff?
- 1:01:47[SPEAKER_01]: For Greg, I'm Dave.
- 1:01:48[SPEAKER_01]: This has been first and five, and I will see you tomorrow, as always, go bills.
