- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: hashtag no music no intro we are back it is that time again thanks block party podcast present it brought to you by precious works LLC if you are watching this right now or listening to this right now that means you are a patreon or a youtube member and we appreciate you for listening and having the early access to our fourth player and our prospect of the week series
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: If you missed our public episode, just to I guess put a bow on how things are going to be for our Patriot, or Patriot, or Patriot, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: That was so to the public, the difference between the two will be the Patreon YouTube episode or it's going to have the clips that we watch that we are looking at to How light a prospect if there's any you know insight news or you know some scuttle, but that's going to be just for the Patreon's and YouTube member episode and Not it will essentially it'll be a condensed version for the
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: The way these prospect of the week, especially not that we didn't last season, but it's a little different because we didn't have a lot of access to the all 22 last season, so we were just really going by YouTube cut-up players watching the all 22 of a prospect, you know, and getting like a full sense of him, four games, five games sometimes.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: It's a very different process, I would say.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: And so we, I mean, and I don't want to be misconstrued.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: Like we love doing the series.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's fun.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think you just were doing it with the thought of man because like can the saints like maybe get one of the players that we talked, except for Peter Woods.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: But can the saints, but it's been a fun series and we appreciate y'all.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_00]: Before we get into Caleb Downs, I did want to drop, I guess you could say like a tidbit or what have you like that.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: Kayla Downs.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: So, palette cleanser.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: My God, bruh.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: After last week, after watching Peter Woods.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: Loan Jesus.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: Before watching him, it's funny because I remember when the Saints maybe were gonna be picking, you know, top three, top four, top five.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: And it was like, oh, you know, they're gonna pass on Jews for like, Caleb Downs.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: And I was just so annoyed just like, I was like, bruh, I say, I said, yeah, I like it.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: Did I do it?
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: And then you watch him and then it's like he to me again, this is me watching him.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: He to me by far is the best player in the draft.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: Now is that a function of the draft class or function of how good he is?
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: Like I think there's I think is a little bit of both because if we're talking, if you're putting Caleb down on the next just draft class, I don't like you're I don't think you're saying he's like he's you're not saying he's the best player
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: or 16th best play on the draft, right?
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: And this draft to me, like from just a football standpoint, he's the best player in the draft.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: And the comp of that I had for him, that was saving for this show in this episode is as a prospect.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: Now, how he's been in the NFL?
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: Because I think when you think about how he's been in the NFL, the expectations of how good cable-downs could be gets a little elevated.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: But he is a souped-up Brian Branch coming on college to me.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: Just in terms of
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: everything that he does defensively.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: He can play almost every position in the second or except for outside corner.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: He can play, he can play nickel back position, play the slot.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: He can play deep safety.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: He can play single.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: He is at times a box safety.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: And it's very similar to how Brian Branchard utilized at Alabama.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: And we all know the whole Brian Branch story of 2023.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: And to me, like, just have the prospect because Brian Branch is going going on and the NFL has been outstanding for the lion.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not trying to put the expectation.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: But he is like even more souped up version of Brian Branch was as a player coming out of college.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_00]: And I get I can't help but think that with how much Jeff Ireland,
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: Can can write the wrong it I know it's going to be tempting at eight bruh.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: I just know it's going to be tempting.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I know Jeff can't be rocked up rock Jeff going on Jeff and Brennan's daily bruh like you can tip come
- 4:40[SPEAKER_01]: That's the thing that stood out to be the Moses, like watching him.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_01]: You immediately see the vision.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: Good brandy still has defense clear.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's so clear, it's so clear.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, it is like, it is, it's a perfect match.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: It really is a perfect match with a player and a defensive coordinator.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not comparing Caleb down to these players, but how, by the state of the utilize, Jalen Ramsey, how he utilize a Durran James at the Chargers.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: how we, at times, utilize a lot of tailored last season, but like it's not, it's not comparable, but like it's, it is not comparable at all.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_01]: Go ahead.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_01]: But just from a standpoint of what Brandon Staley likes to do, change a picture post snap, free snap post snap, and within the defense,
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: After the snap, like with them, whatever the offense is actually doing, change in the picture in that split second.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_01]: Caleb Dowl's already does that, and we saw it a lot, especially in this 2025 team.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_01]: with a mat Patricia called her offense.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_01]: You saw him just kind of expect.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_01]: You saw like from 2024 to 25, he was good in both years, but you saw like him really become like that leader, that Elfa dog of the D.S.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_01]: is 2025, where he called it and everything, he was terrific.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_01]: He put in making sure everybody on point and he's like,
- 5:59[SPEAKER_01]: dead focused on the quarterback and emotion and all the police that he's watching everything but he's one of the and he is one of the smartest players.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: I've seen on film, bro.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_01]: It is it is intelligent how soft the team.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like just the intelligence is just like, wow, this dude is just
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: It's it's it's saying before okay, so before we get into a deep dive something that I wanted to stop start implementing For these this prospect of the week series since we have a dad and I was like, we should talk about this again This is gonna be just patreon only.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna cut this out for the full release
- 6:33[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like part of y'all telling you, you know, you had a couple of white receivers and now, you know, obviously Crystal Live A and Gary Wilson and a couple of others, you know, kind of, kind of, kind of similar to this draft, you know what I'm saying, kind of similar to this, you know, you don't have a ton of quarterbacks, you got number one overall, you know, Fernando, Tides Simpson's going to go somewhere, who nobody knows yet.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: And that's it, you've got a couple of offensive linemen, like those are your high values and you've got the edge rushes, even the edge rushes are like kind of scheme dependent kind of like, you know, you know, either the holder type of edge rush or is not like clear cut edge rushes that's going to go like, like, you know, you know, first like top one to top two like unconscious in a couple years ago.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know, girl, like, I really don't know.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_01]: Like, Daniel, Daniel, my, I think he had killed a child's go 11th in his first mock draft.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_01]: That feels like it's kind of accurate.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that's the kind of the sweet spot.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_01]: But the Saints, I was like, the primary member.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_01]: Like, if he gets the Saints, I just don't know, because I, like, the Saints could absolutely take on because they, they honestly don't really care that much about, you know,
- 7:40[SPEAKER_01]: Like the position of value stuff, I think they would take him if they love him.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_01]: I know Jeff Ireland's going to be super high on him.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_01]: I know Brandon Staley's going to be super high on him.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_01]: And I know, even Kellen, I know Kellen will respect, you know, Kellen, you know.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we'll see what you want about Justin Reeds.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_01]: Saints take you so far, you know, it's fine, but probably more, Kelly more wanted some just to read, but like, he does, he did wanted them, but I you wanted them, you know, so they, they go and value their position.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: They are.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: And if they, if they drafted Caleb down, he immediately becomes top three player on the defense side of the ball.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's not easily.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: He's like he's pro like even if the Mario came back like he's behind like chase young from Jump rough just from jump like he's already there And one thing I do love about kill them dies if you add them to the same defense like he he's dead dog Yes, oh, oh, no like the Mario old dog Cam Jordan, you know, I'm saying like they
- 8:46[SPEAKER_01]: past their prime.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we got some youngsters coming up, you know what I'm saying?
- 8:51[SPEAKER_01]: But like a young Caleb down, you can let young leader early up in there, that can be a party to like the the growth of the new Saints defense going forward for like the next, you know, 5 or 10 years, whatever, you know what I'm saying?
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: Could be the face of that defense going forward.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_01]: like that's in tree in a week or like that's super intriguing.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: It is.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: I'm let me share his stats and then we can kind of get into, we pulled like a lot of video clips for this episode.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: So this is from PFF, he had 44 so little tackles at the safety two intersections, which I think if there's like detractors to him in terms like they look at the limited number of interceptions that he that he's had like he in terms of like he doesn't get a lot of interceptions ball production
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, five freshers and then 23 receptions allow from the safety position played 560 snaps and 232 of those were run defense 20 past rush and then 308 and coverage snaps just it's just the fit of him potentially replacing a long-tay
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: just makes it, and I'm not saying that they should draft and just for him to replace a Lontent.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: I truly think he's the best player to draft, but just how he could fit that role very well.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: And another got to cut this out, but another tip bit, but it could get to the point where, you know, a Lonté just has an offer on the table from one of those teams that's too good to pass up.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: And he leaves, which I'm not crying, I'm not crying myself to sleep over.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, hi, buddy, see you later.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_00]: See you later, bro.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: But all that said, it would create a hole on the team and a hole in the defense.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_00]: And this team can't really afford to have more holes added to it.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_01]: Correct.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_01]: But I think it's a hole that can be upgraded.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_01]: Like I think, yes, I think you could get much better than a latte.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
- 10:44[SPEAKER_01]: And that's no disrespect to him.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_01]: Think he's a good player, but you could do a lot better in my opinion.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
- 10:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like, especially at that position, he's different.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: I was leaky out of downs.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_01]: is a safety, a lot of kids are cornered back.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_01]: And get the money, because a lot of their plate safety I tend to see.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_01]: And I think he would be a good safety.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know what I'm saying?
- 11:05[SPEAKER_01]: But Caleb Downs, even though he could play, he could come down, play the nickel, guard the tight end, and stuff like that.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe not a guy you want to cover in, like, say, yes, he moves his heat to the slot.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_01]: You don't want him covering his heat.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: No, you know what I'm saying, man, man.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_01]: But he's just so versatile.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_01]: You could just do whatever with him.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's playing deep.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_01]: He's playing on the line.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: He's playing kind of battlefield.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_01]: They did so much with the defense, whether it's like one half quarters coverage, other half cover two, yes, cover eight.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_01]: They call that cover eight.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_01]: They were doing so much with that defense.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_01]: And he was the orchestra, you know what I'm saying?
- 11:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like he was the one that's like point out who should have who watch out for this rub,
- 11:50[SPEAKER_01]: He was the one and just the intelligence and just ability to like quickly see stuff and then react to it Like you just can't cope with that, but I like that's something you need to have all you don't for you either That or you don't and like he's been
- 12:07[SPEAKER_00]: You know, obviously he was the freshman at Alabama.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: And he transferred to Ohio State.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_00]: And essentially, since he got to Ohio State, like that's who he's been from the jump.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_00]: So we have a lot of clips.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_00]: Again, these are just, I'm trying to think which one I want to start with.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_00]: And I want to start with this, his play against the run game.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_00]: Because I think that's an underrated trait that he has.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_00]: I remember a,
- 12:30[SPEAKER_00]: a point in the same defense when that position like that nickel safety, uh, we had a little Malcolm Jenkins a bit, and then we had a whip on Belle that 2018 season where the tight end position was not a problem, like they got eliminated.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_00]: completely.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_00]: And it's been a while since they've had a player that could take tight ends out of the game.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_00]: And just in the modern function of the NFL, his ability, because a lot of his coverage, it's a lot, a big part of his coverage, especially when he's playing closer to the lot of scrimmage, he's lined up against tight ends.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_00]: And like you said, he's not a nickel where you want him lined up guarding
- 13:08[SPEAKER_00]: the slot receiver or whoever's in the slot because that's not that's not his game.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_00]: I think if you put him in that role, it's going to expose him.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_00]: But if you line him up against titans in an NFL, he's going to make his money and cut like going against coverage in them and and doing like a good to great job on them.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to make his money.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_00]: That'll not take blitz.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_00]: I just kept thinking because there's Ohio State ran in a couple of times too.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_00]: Like that'll not take blitz a lot different when it's Caleb Downs who's doing it.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_00]: And like all that to say, the fact that he's so multiple, there are games where I guess Michigan Matt Patricia, this past season, 2021, Matt Patricia pretty much just squarely used him in the box.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_00]: Like he was in the box because they knew defensively, we're going to go against a team that's going to be running the ball or in the shit out of the ball.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_00]: Like that's what they're going to
- 13:55[SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to put our best player into help shut down the run game.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_00]: So Derek, he becomes like a chameleon in terms of like what's what you're going against offensively.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_00]: If you need him to be a box safety most of the game, bet he has it.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_00]: If you then need him to back him up in place, split safety credit split safety coverage, cover three, he played it.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_00]: They played a lot of man free in Ohio State.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_00]: It's like a lot of man free.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_00]: That Caleb Downs was like the long safety back there and then
- 14:22[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's kind of man coverage or potentially zone coverage on the outside and he he does it all.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_00]: He literally does it all.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_01]: That's it all in.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: One great thing he does is when he's close to the line or I would even say he has a ability to what like play all for play down field and no exactly when the break
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: But yes, Rick, so he's potentially in the box, even though he's not playing in the box pretty snap, but he was shoot down there so fast and know like where the bubble in the offensive line is to get to that running back to make a stop or where the he does that so often.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_01]: And he gets it in the mix for a like there's a lot of times where he's not in the mix in a run game because he's you know playing D.S.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_01]: But whatever, but don't get it twisted like he will get in the trash.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_00]: That's the opposite of Pete Warner and Isaiah Foske because like they're in the mix.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: How many times you in the gold line and you just see them just standing there.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_01]: What's going on over there?
- 15:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's like the show has internet, bro.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_01]: He's the one, he's the one, he's the one, the idea of that bro.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_00]: What are you?
- 15:31[SPEAKER_00]: One freaking 80, bro.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_00]: And that's a set of people, man.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, especially, especially defensively, bro.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_00]: It, yeah.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_00]: So this is, these are your clips.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yo, what up, what are you looking at?
- 15:42[SPEAKER_01]: Man, I'm checking out this website, this site is cheese, bro.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_01]: And 2025?
- 15:46[SPEAKER_01]: How do you have a crappy website?
- 15:48[SPEAKER_01]: Couldn't be me.

- 16:27[SPEAKER_01]: He also keeps it up the date and helps us anytime we want to add something new like a form or the prospect manager tool that we did for the NFL Trust.

- 17:04[SPEAKER_00]: Make sure to tell him, saying, we're not 40 cents.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_00]: It is like for me to meet like, and you know, past Agnew Agenda is on, but for for me to be like, man, I'm fine by passing juice in round one, you know, we can work for all two,
- 17:22[SPEAKER_00]: That shows how great of a player he really is, bro.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_00]: Like, he really does.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_01]: You could go looking at Discord with KELP 1000 getting brought up early this year.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, hell, no, no, no.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_01]: You know, goddamn safety getting taken all the juice we need?
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: No, hey, hey, hey.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_01]: But after watching, I retract that statement.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_00]: Big picture kill on O'Neill I apologize I was not familiar with your game energy not for me Which a game or Tony said someone like that on defense a hundred percent qualifies as juice that is accurate He's he is he is he's a racer man like some players.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_01]: I look at on defense and he just I call him a racer's because it's like
- 18:02[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like you look at the state sheet at the end of the game and it might not pop out in my left three tackles, you know what I'm saying?
- 18:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, okay, what am I supposed to do with this?
- 18:10[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
- 18:11[SPEAKER_01]: But you got to like watch them and watch the tape because their measure is what they don't allow, like the, yes, the plays that don't happen, the offense can't make because of them.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_01]: You just can't really measure it, you know what I'm saying?
- 18:24[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you can only measure it in the like the strength of what the overall defense is doing.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the, I think that's the type of play he's going to be, you know, he's probably won't have the, you know, the interception numbers and the, you know, although I think you, you know, I think he, you know, he's going to make his plays.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_01]: But it just, he's not going to be that guy with, you know, 11, 12, interceptions, you know, he's just not that type of player.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_01]: His impact will be in just giving you like a good solid, like foundation of a defense that prevents
- 18:53[SPEAKER_01]: big place where they prevent literally a defense like this defending the actual inzone and that's what he's going to do percent.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_00]: Get into like I feel like we I want to hit on some of the things like in terms of like quote unquote like negatives in his game and you know just be to keep it completely honest.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_00]: One thing that gets that took out to me, we talked about the interception production production.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_00]: Like you just hit on like he just doesn't have that, which I think that, you know, people will use that as a, you know, attraction.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_00]: There are some plays where he's there and it doesn't happen a lot, but that he does have some small, like,
- 19:30[SPEAKER_00]: Miss tackles were just more like annoyances.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_00]: That's happened that I noticed a couple of times and then in terms of that the cops to Garenron James the cops to Jaila Ramsey
- 19:41[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, Jalen Ramsey's different because he played outside corner and he was a stud in his prime.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_00]: But even just the count to Durmer's James, Caleb doesn't have like that thick body size that Durmer and James has.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_00]: And so again, that's why I kind of settled on the Bryan Branch thing because I think they have similar, similar Ish body types.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_00]: You know, some degree, I think Caleb is probably a little bigger than Bryan Branch was coming out of Alabama, but now obviously Bryan Branch got into the NFL
- 20:10[SPEAKER_00]: Strength and condition program, but like if you want to like look at like like quote-unquote like thoughts with his game or as a prospect I think that's what you we kind of like see or early into like oh my god There's a play that you that you like that's well in Texas.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah Those score for like that that's what it's all about for me like that's a safety that's what it's all about
- 20:33[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's your job, your job is to prevent the score as a safety.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what it's all about.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_01]: And how many times have we seen say safety?
- 20:40[SPEAKER_01]: So as they get blocked, it's over.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's not a part of the play.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_01]: This is the fact that he's, he's in a game.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_01]: If that text is game, they whipping up on, on, we everybody remember that game is the first game of the season.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_01]: They whipping up on a porch.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_01]: And he's effort is like 100% throughout that game.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_01]: 100 years plan, 100 and 50,000 miles an hour.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_01]: the entire game.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_01]: That's my type of defense of play.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_00]: Love it.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_00]: Boom.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_00]: Also, if you're not, so I will say for the prospect of week episodes, I get people like like have just like listening to audio podcasts, that's your thing.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_00]: I'm telling you right now, you're missing out if you're not watching this or there be on Patreon or YouTube when we posted
- 21:28[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
- 21:58[SPEAKER_01]: 7.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_01]: He's a 7 juice.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's just defensive juice.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_00]: You're already going to hit that cause it's defensive juice.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I put him at a nine for my juice bro.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_00]: Like, all right, like, I just, I don't, like, I think in terms of just him as a whole player, like what he does to fence the weather football player, I just, I put him at a nine.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_01]: And here's why, and I could discuss my negatives with him now.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like, the interception thing is like, it's a major thing for me, like, to me, I want my safety to be like a ball hook, you know what I'm saying?
- 22:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, you don't have to be.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have to be to be a great safety, but I personally like I like to see that ball production and I know why he doesn't have it because
- 22:42[SPEAKER_01]: He is like very much a do your job safety.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_01]: He's not a gambler.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_01]: He's not going to take a bunch of chances, which is why you don't see as many negative plays for him.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_01]: He's always in the right spot almost always, you know what I'm saying?
- 22:56[SPEAKER_01]: And that's a great thing.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_01]: But doing that also prevents you from getting some of the ball production that some players might get because they're willing to say chances and kind of gambler.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_01]: But I think
- 23:07[SPEAKER_01]: And NFL, as long as he's in the race, but I think I think the ball is a come to him.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_01]: So that's my, that's like my one negative and the other negative I have, I would like to just see him just kind of be more of a striker when he hits like this.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_01]: That I didn't see that ball pop out off the running back.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see the helmet flying off.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to see that violence and he's he's not a
- 23:30[SPEAKER_01]: like these not like a physical he's a physical player but it's just like that.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_00]: It's strike you know what I'm saying.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's funny it's funny you say that because I get that because when you watch all the games I watch like you definitely see that it's funny that the last game of the season that they had they played against Miami he caused two fumbles in that game.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think both were against Malachi Tony just the way he was hitting.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_00]: It like he had a great game against Miami, even though Miami or even though all how's that last like game.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: But yes, that that real like true like physical and he is a physical player.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_00]: Like I buy here with you saying like you you want to run it back.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_01]: Cause you know, like a blind and look, that's like honestly today's NFL is getting ordered in order to find man.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's just all the fun those type of safety is just because of where they call tonight like you get a flag in the college like if you just sneeze on a player wrong, bro So brave it's just the game is just change and that's all here's like me just got to come to terms with that you know I'm saying we too, bro Like I
- 24:27[SPEAKER_00]: where I can't stand some of the calls sometimes I see that ends up being flags.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_00]: Do you have the squint of what Kayla Downs?
- 24:33[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely not, but I like that.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_01]: That's a player like literally the first game I put on was that Penn State game and it was just was so evident of just what he was, right?
- 24:43[SPEAKER_01]: Just like this is a true,
- 24:45[SPEAKER_01]: This is an NFL-ready prospect, man.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_01]: Like, this dude is ready.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_00]: This is talent.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_00]: Something that's going to be interesting to me, and I don't know, you know, if it'll happen like the same version of it.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_00]: But him playing against the cults, like it's he going to like let his brother off the hook.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Brad, I just saw it to me in early easily, but I would bring up and put it on his eyes.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, tell me what, I need a breath, I need a breath.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_00]: This nigga, this nigga really doesn't knock out his breath for the love of the desk.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_01]: If I was not got any bad, it's gonna be my bro.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_01]: She is.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_01]: wrap it up.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_00]: Our first, finally, this agreed in terms of our clouds for me in terms of if I was drafting five power to draft at eight, I would go Caleb Downs over during my love.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_00]: You had your my love higher.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_00]: What's your what's your reasoning for for love over Downs?
- 25:36[SPEAKER_01]: And it's really not like, like, easily like if the Saints ended up with either one I would know, stand it up at me for like either one, and both of them might be either an eight worth.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's why they put them going to be there for, I'll say, if they can put those players there, they're eight.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_00]: And these niggas pass on both, both Caleb Downs and Dremel Lovera, and you know that's going to happen.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'm burning to the ground, I'm burning to the ground.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_01]: You'd know that's gonna be what happens, bro.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like you'd do it.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_01]: Like you're gonna be sitting on a podcast like this, doing a post-slake.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_00]: France, France is more y'all, I'm hung up, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y
- 26:29[SPEAKER_01]: And the same needs some chips, we're like, that's just pig, I can't move past them.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_01]: We're like, hey, these scorers, they need, they need it all, and I just think Jeremiah loves just provides that with killer downs.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_01]: His impact is more subtle and nuanced, and it has definitely helped the defense, like it's no question that he would take the defense to another level in my opinion.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_01]: But I just like from a scoring, playmaking,
- 26:52[SPEAKER_01]: like changing the actual scoreboard impact, like Jared my love, it's like my number one.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I would call him.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_00]: Good.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_00]: I went, I went with Dallas just like for me, just in a vacuum, I just feel like Dallas is clear.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_00]: A better player in the love screen.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_00]: Clean.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_00]: You just you said this when you're it's funny because you were saying this as like a negative But like I kept watching this tape and I was like this nigga don't make like he'd has Limit it negative plays that he makes one film like it is like he has like a few here and there But they're like out of like let's say there's one I don't know like 40 snaps or 30 snaps or whatever We watch per game he maybe has one or two negative snaps like he has on the defensive side of all out of safety like that is nuts like I was just like nope
- 27:38[SPEAKER_01]: Like you really see where he's like on this upside in the field, but the place going over here.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: But he got fooled over here.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_01]: Like if he's on upside in the field, it's because that's just responsibility.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_01]: Where he's supposed to be.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_01]: He's doing some pattern match and stuff over there.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_01]: plays over there, okay, that's what the offense did.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_01]: But he's not getting full back there.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know, saying, like, he's, he's always on point.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you know, that maybe I'll just give you confidence that your defense is like, okay, I know I'm good.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_00]: And this is okay.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_00]: This is, that's a little bit tease.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_00]: And I know at some point we're probably going to break him down at the prospect.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_00]: But watching Caleb Downs is, and this, the plan I want to talk about is my sort of delaying who, if he runs like a four, four, four, three, he probably going top five, like, he just, his, his measurables and, you know, how NFL needs and wants and teams, knee corners, like all that, no danger in my head, him going to the Giants at five.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_00]: And I think if he runs and tests well, I think that makes a lot of sense.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_00]: But I watched two games of delaying one already when I thought he was going to win the prospect of the week couple weeks ago.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_00]: One, he played against Alabama last last this past season.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_00]: And one, when he was at Virginia Tech and he played, he played safety majority at Virginia Tech.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_00]: The question I was asking about him as a player is like, what is Delane?
- 28:56[SPEAKER_00]: Is he an outside corner?
- 28:58[SPEAKER_00]: Is he like a safety?
- 29:01[SPEAKER_00]: And especially like the snaps I saw with Delane at safety, it was one game, it was the Miami game.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_00]: Against Virginia Tech, which is a good game to watch, obviously going to get some cam board.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_00]: The way he played the safety position compared to the way that like Caleb Dallas played, where I was like it walked like two different species.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_00]: Like it was just, it was different.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_00]: And so just how good he is at what he does is such a, like a thing to watch, especially like when you watched all, and you know, for a player like Caleb Dallas and safety is in the secondary, you got to have the all 22.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_00]: Like the I'm someone who says that maybe two of the grief, I feel like all 22 is a bit overrated.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like the football kind of symptoms kind of overrated how great it is.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_00]: But for safety's in secondary players, you got to have the most, it's a must.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to be able to get a full picture of what they do.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_00]: In terms of how it breaks down, I could for some reasons see the Saints maybe passing on Jeremiah love.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, we'll see what happens if you're interested in the question.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_00]: But I can see them passing on him.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_00]: How don't work this?
- 30:00[SPEAKER_00]: I can see them using the positional value mortgage Jeremiah love the scale of doubts.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_00]: If that makes any sense.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_00]: Because if you even go back
- 30:15[SPEAKER_00]: our draft hit rate in terms of where these safety have been drafted, at least for the Saints in the and the first round.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_00]: They took Malcolm Jenkins at 14, they took Kenny Vacara at 15.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_00]: And both, it's basically Malcolm Jenkins, and I know it's maybe lazy, but like play it out of Ohio State, what the state was, was a corner at Ohio State, but then got moved to safety, then NFL.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of crossover, and I don't think Caleb Downs is like that, because you would not put him on the outside.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_00]: But like that 14, 15 range is very like safety range, but I can see them, you know, Brandon Staley and Jeff Irland saying, Nah, bro, like this is our guy.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_00]: He's there at eight like list and I know that the Saints have loved him as a prospect before the season going into the season I do and I feel like this happens with players like Caleb Downs is during the draft process is just like people just get tired of hearing how great Exactly, and they have like a couple of account Hamilton last last year Not last year when he got drafted like people like then start to like look and like oh well He doesn't do this and that doesn't focus on the negatives and I could see that I would tell him so we're telling
- 31:24[SPEAKER_01]: clear-cut like wire receiver, you know, one and all that stuff.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_01]: People just got tired of talking about Ted that they didn't start poking a hole.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, he's nuts.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, he's like, he's in funny.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: Back in his mountain, it don't be just a good wire receiver, you know, a good wire receiver.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_01]: and any winter after like night to a row.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_01]: So about like eight, but it's crazy.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_01]: That's gonna be fascinating.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's gonna be fascinating to see what the says do, especially if I were top two players end up on the board right there, they just sit there sitting there, but I'm gonna be sick, bro.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_01]: Oh God, okay, okay, if, you know, like we haven't done David, David Bailey yet, I have a reason we expect not to be there.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_01]: But like, okay, if like those two guys are there,
- 32:07[SPEAKER_01]: and they decided to go ahead and rush her like, I get it.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm saying like, I don't just stay.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: I understand.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_00]: I eat, not for a, I'm sorry.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_01]: I would not be made.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_00]: I would not be upset.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_00]: They would ever, I wouldn't, I wouldn't be upset.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't be a, or ever recent difference.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_00]: But if it was like, and this is maybe getting into the weeds, but like, let's say you have Bane Bailey, let's put it in a Bane and Bailey, they're brought.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_00]: Bane, a Bane will be the attuber.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_00]: You put Jane and Bailey there at let's say all four all four down's love Bailey or all there a but I am I think he's the best past brochure Oh, I think like a pure past sure.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's the best pure past brochure and and the draft I would be annoyed if they selected Bane or Bailey over love or Dallas
- 32:52[SPEAKER_00]: And I get it, I get us a need, and that to me, it may be I'm wrong.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_00]: But that to me, what kind of signify maybe them going more for need as opposed to BPA.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_00]: And I just feel like to build a great team, you got to go best player available.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, it's up.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_01]: I would.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'll be forward because I do think, but I do think the position of value we're playing today like there it is just because you can.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_01]: Fact is you can find good safety is leading the dream.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_01]: You just can't you can find and they've done it like they found good safety.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_01]: You won't find a kid that made my father kill him down.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_01]: but you can't find good safety's lady in the trash.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_01]: Edge Rush is just maybe like maybe you get lucky, but it's just like the probability of hit day two, day three on the edge Rush is just minuscule, is 10%, 5%, you know, less than that.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_01]: Safety's unfortunately, the diamond doesn't bring that's why they just don't go high anymore.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_01]: That's just part of the reason it's like supplied to man, but some dudes just different Caleb downs to me.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_01]: Once you throw away all that position of value trash, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah and you look at the actual greed that you have on the player.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_01]: And I know he's going to be highly greedy by this island.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_01]: The problem might have the best greed in his class.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, it's on point like we just gonna pass on the best greeded player.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_01]: And we got the best
- 34:14[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, well take the player when when the team this team just needs good to great players period Like that's much better.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's gonna be all you've been up in their board.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that'd be all good.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_01]: I would love to just hit that
- 34:27[SPEAKER_00]: Bro, oh, bro, and here the thing that about this process that we just don't know and obviously this is different because they can make the argument that like last year Kellen because he got hired so late like him being involved in it like he got involved in the draft process a lot later I was still had a huge impact on who they ended up drafting what have you he's more involved in this process now like you had the entire Saints contention at the senior bow Yeah, Mickey Loomus doing
- 34:52[SPEAKER_00]: but not the goddamn press tour, like they don't want the NFC camping.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_00]: It's hard to be safe.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_00]: NFC sound like listen, when you have a drive like they had, last season with banks and hitting on in, in potentially can your franchise quarterback and Tyler Chuck, like you, to some degree deserve to talk a little shit, but then also like what about the prior anyway?
- 35:09[SPEAKER_00]: Don't you can start?
- 35:10[SPEAKER_00]: You was hiding when you, Foske, 40 was hiding, didn't want you to see him.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_00]: Have you seen him?
- 35:17[SPEAKER_00]: Tell me, have you seen him?
- 35:19[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, but,
- 35:21[SPEAKER_00]: Now that Kellen is kind of a part of the process from the jump, I guess you can say at the beginning of the off season, it's gonna be interesting because a player like love, and I don't know if I said this all that I love, prospect of the week.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like the team really likes love, as a prospect.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if they like him like in the top 10, because I don't know if they feel like he's like a top 10 running back.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think the scouts when I say the team, I think the scouts maybe feel like he's like a,
- 35:46[SPEAKER_00]: mid-round pick kind of like Mark Ingram is what I think is a low disrespectful to Jeremiah Love.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_00]: But you could have someone like Kellogg get the process in being like, man, have y'all seen him?
- 35:58[SPEAKER_00]: What y'all talking about?
- 36:00[SPEAKER_00]: What y'all talking about?
- 36:00[SPEAKER_00]: No, no.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_00]: And that's where it gets interesting because after last year's draft class and for the most part how the picks have hit, you could argue like you got at this point, you got to,
- 36:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I get Kellon's been for the doubt like if he goes in and he's one in love or maybe he's he says like fuck it like Kale downs is a great fucking player.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_00]: I won't win my team and he's like going for that then I think he's earned at this point Like the right to to make that call now He don't know.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_00]: He don't add juice in this draft.
