- 0:00Speaker 1: Give me an example of the next title, A Geyser
- 0:03Speaker 1: of Love, a National Park romance geyser lot. Hey, everybody,
- 0:25Speaker 1: welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark. I'm Megan and I'm a
- 0:28Speaker 1: lifelong Hallmark movie fan.
- 0:29Speaker 2: And I'm Wendy.
- 0:30Speaker 1: And in contrast to Meghan, I would participate in an
- 0:34Speaker 1: avalanche speeriment demonstration. I'm girl.
- 0:39Speaker 2: I'm tired right now.
- 0:40Speaker 1: You are not burying me in snow. I do not
- 0:43Speaker 1: care if it is a pre made snow cake. I
- 0:45Speaker 1: do not care if you're standing right outside of it.
- 0:47Speaker 1: There's no logic care. I'm not doing it. Did you
- 0:49Speaker 1: see like the ice blocks that they I did, and
- 0:52Speaker 1: I'm still not doing it todaycon we're discussing Love in
- 0:57Speaker 1: Glacier National, a National Park Romance original movie, on the
- 1:01Speaker 1: Hallmark Channel. If you want to connect with us outside
- 1:04Speaker 1: of the podcast, we'd love for you to follow us
- 1:06Speaker 1: on Instagram Chat with us over there, you can follow us.
- 1:09Speaker 1: We are at Girls Gone Hallmark and also at Megan
- 1:12Speaker 1: and Wendy. Yeah, our jump into our Facebook group, Girls
- 1:15Speaker 1: Gone Hallmark. I would like to shout out one of
- 1:19Speaker 1: the members if that's okay with you. Oh yes, new
- 1:22Speaker 1: member Mike huh always bring in the fun. The group
- 1:26Speaker 1: had a lot to say about this movie to do.
- 1:29Speaker 1: I know before we give you all of our thoughts
- 1:31Speaker 1: and opinions on Love and Glacier, National and National Park Romance,
- 1:34Speaker 1: the title it is entirely too long. Let's talk Hallmark
- 1:38Speaker 1: all right, go ahead for step. Production wrapped on the
- 1:41Speaker 1: first Christmas movie that we are aware of, A Builtmore Christmas,
- 1:45Speaker 1: filmed on location in Asheville, North Carolina, storing Christopher Palaha
- 1:49Speaker 1: and Bethany joy Lenz. I was wondering, they're not going
- 1:53Speaker 1: to put that out in July, right, Nah, they're gonna
- 1:55Speaker 1: save that for I think they'll save it.
- 1:57Speaker 2: I think they'll save it too, because are.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Too big name. Yes, I had a feeling it was
- 2:01Speaker 1: wrapping because Keith Nielsen, who does the costumes, had posted
- 2:06Speaker 1: something on Instagram and it said like day fourteen, and
- 2:09Speaker 1: I messaged him and I was like, oh, you must
- 2:11Speaker 1: be close, and He's like, today's the last day. Yeah.
- 2:14Speaker 1: I'm really looking forward to that one. I hope it
- 2:16Speaker 1: doesn't disappoint. I think it's gonna be great.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Good.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Allmark stars Wes Brown, Ashley Williams, Tyler Hines, and Andrew Walker.
- 2:24Speaker 1: All descended on Sundance Film Festival. Did I just say festival? Did?
- 2:30Speaker 1: They were at the Sundance Film Festival for a Hallmark
- 2:34Speaker 1: sponsored event promoting network and female filmmaking, an initiative called
- 2:40Speaker 1: make her Mark. Have you heard anything about it?
- 2:42Speaker 2: Nothing?
- 2:43Speaker 1: Really, nothing at all. No. So back in August of
- 2:47Speaker 1: last year, Forbes had published like an announcement of the
- 2:51Speaker 1: make her Mark program, which basically it serves to get
- 2:55Speaker 1: more women behind the camera, and the initiative was the
- 3:00Speaker 1: brainchild of one miss Ashley Williams.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Nice.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Yeah, so I had saw that she was like sending
- 3:07Speaker 1: out like these like pr packages to some of the
- 3:11Speaker 1: Hallmark people and like the Hallmark stars.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Not like influencers.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Sure, and I was like, well, these cute little pr
- 3:18Speaker 1: like where's ours?
- 3:19Speaker 2: I would love seriously.
- 3:21Speaker 1: We have a po box Actuley if you want to
- 3:23Speaker 1: send us one. But it was like really cute promoting it,
- 3:26Speaker 1: and hey, I'm here for I put more women behind
- 3:29Speaker 1: the camera, Let's make more films.
- 3:31Speaker 2: I was just gonna say, I would give Ashley Williams
- 3:33Speaker 2: our personal addresses. Oh wish you? Yeah, Okay.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Anyway, they were all there having a good time. What
- 3:40Speaker 1: was that an earthquake, an avalanche perhaps okay. Alie Sweeney
- 3:46Speaker 1: cryptically references filming a murder mystery movie that she can't
- 3:50Speaker 1: say more about yet. She's previously starred in Murder She
- 3:53Speaker 1: Baked and The Chronicles Mysteries, and when asked if there
- 3:56Speaker 1: could be another mystery on the horizon, she said yes,
- 3:58Speaker 1: but that's all she can say.
- 4:00Speaker 2: She's currently working on it.
- 4:01Speaker 1: So keisha your ears open. Two things, have you ever
- 4:05Speaker 1: watched any of her mystery movies? No?
- 4:08Speaker 2: Okay?
- 4:08Speaker 1: Second thing, I cannot stand it when they tease and
- 4:12Speaker 1: then can't talk about the movies. I would prefer the
- 4:18Speaker 1: coverage like we've seen with the Bilmore movie.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 4:22Speaker 1: I don't know why they hold that, like, let us
- 4:26Speaker 1: build up the hike, get it hip? Yeah huh so
- 4:30Speaker 1: that's interesting. I mean I would probably watch it. Maybe, yeah,
- 4:35Speaker 1: you would, because because now apparently we review every movie
- 4:39Speaker 1: on the Homework Channel and HM and M.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Now, yes, ma'am, okay.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I have some viewership news for everybody who's been waiting
- 4:49Speaker 1: for it. This is for the Wedding Veil Journey. This
- 4:53Speaker 1: was with Alie Sweeney and Leo Leo. It was the
- 4:57Speaker 1: most watched cable programm behind Sports nice two point three
- 5:03Speaker 1: million live viewers hanging in their Hallmark Yeah, I mean
- 5:07Speaker 1: just slay in January. Well, speaking of Hallmark viewership, next
- 5:11Speaker 1: weekend kicks off Love Youary with four new Hallmark movies
- 5:15Speaker 1: and the return of the Curious Caterer franchise, two Hallmark
- 5:19Speaker 1: movies and mysteries with the Grilling Season installment. And I
- 5:23Speaker 1: am sorry to say, but Hallmark Movies and Mysteries will
- 5:25Speaker 1: remain on the Girls Gone Hallmark calendar for February for sure,
- 5:30Speaker 1: like Tom and Goldie for me, like I just super
- 5:34Speaker 1: into their like hot chemistry. I have questions about Lobuary. Yes,
- 5:41Speaker 1: have you seen any previews? Well, I'm going to say
- 5:45Speaker 1: that I'm not jumping out of my seat for joy
- 5:48Speaker 1: for any of these Hallmark movies the same one. But
- 5:51Speaker 1: I will tell you that my first impression is not
- 5:53Speaker 1: always accurate, so.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Maybe they will surprise.
- 5:56Speaker 1: I know. I gotta say I did see the sneak
- 5:58Speaker 1: peak for the Sweeter Thing Chocolate with Pinstripe yes, which
- 6:03Speaker 1: we'll just always gonna call him Pinstripe Dan Janote. Is
- 6:07Speaker 1: that how you say his name?
- 6:08Speaker 2: That guy?
- 6:09Speaker 1: Yeah? I mean it looks okay, but you know, previews.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Sneak peak previews never look good, right. It's always like
- 6:17Speaker 1: some random clip of the movie and it's like, Okay,
- 6:20Speaker 1: where's the next Hallmark Mahogany movie.
- 6:23Speaker 2: We haven't had this in a minute.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Oh, in February, A Nashville Legacy is the next Hallmark
- 6:29Speaker 1: Mahogany film and it will air on Sunday, February twenty
- 6:35Speaker 1: six at nine pm. So I previously misspoke. There will
- 6:38Speaker 1: be five Hallmark movies plus one one Hallmark.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Movies and mystery.
- 6:42Speaker 1: It's gonna be busy February for a Girls Gone Hallmark.
- 6:44Speaker 1: We may make the executive decision to swap Grilling season
- 6:48Speaker 1: for the Hallmark original. Way in Megan and Wendy at
- 6:52Speaker 1: gmail dot com, or hop into our Facebook group and
- 6:53Speaker 1: let us know what you think about that.
- 6:55Speaker 2: That's right.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Let's hear a synopsis of Glater National Park. Blah blah
- 7:00Speaker 1: blah blah blah. Yes, ma'am, that title is so long, okay.
- 7:04Speaker 1: An avalanche forecasting expert brings her new technology to Glacier
- 7:09Speaker 1: Chanall Park, where she faces pushback from the director of
- 7:13Speaker 1: Mountain Rescue, who's trained an intuition and common sense. Trained
- 7:18Speaker 1: in intuition, and common sense. You can't see it, but
- 7:21Speaker 1: my eyes are rolling. Wow. Before we do news and notes,
- 7:25Speaker 1: I wanted to say I have speculated that, based on
- 7:28Speaker 1: the title of this movie, Love in Glacier National Colon
- 7:32Speaker 1: a National Park Romance, that they've left this open for
- 7:35Speaker 1: future national park romance installment. Give me an example of
- 7:39Speaker 1: the next title, A geyser of Love a National Park
- 7:43Speaker 1: romance geyser. I was thinking more like I wanted to
- 7:50Speaker 1: make like a Yogi Bear, a boo boo romance. Love
- 7:58Speaker 1: in the Acadia Leaves and national Park romance? Would a
- 8:01Speaker 1: Kadia National Park in Maine. Then Lee's famously turn it's beautiful.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Oh so leaf peeping, destination, leaf pimping.
- 8:10Speaker 2: That's the word.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Collins, Hallmark Meg has got a whole bunch of titles
- 8:15Speaker 1: for you.
- 8:16Speaker 2: I don't know why we don't work for them yet.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Speaking of national parks, this movie was filmed in Fernie,
- 8:21Speaker 1: British Columbia, which is four hours from Glacier National Park,
- 8:25Speaker 1: not actually within GNP. I heard that, and and this
- 8:29Speaker 1: is like a did you see that? I'm just gonna
- 8:31Speaker 1: slide in right here in this bedroom. Samantha's the young child,
- 8:36Speaker 1: the girl they had all these like Fernie posters. Well,
- 8:39Speaker 1: it's a real place, I know that, but they're not
- 8:43Speaker 1: supposed to be Infernie. They are supposed to be Infernie.
- 8:46Speaker 1: They call it Fernie nine billion times. Then what the
- 8:49Speaker 1: hell's Glacier National Park? Then they're just pretending like Fernie's
- 8:52Speaker 1: in Glacier National Park. Are It's like confusing, but they
- 8:55Speaker 1: are Infernie. They say Fernie many many, many, okay many
- 8:58Speaker 1: times time time Compine corrected. It's fine. I also read
- 9:02Speaker 1: that people were like really kind of pissed off because
- 9:04Speaker 1: they're like, there is no the thing that you ride
- 9:07Speaker 1: when you're a skier and you ride ski lift. There's
- 9:10Speaker 1: no ski lifts in national parks apparently, well it's not
- 9:13Speaker 1: in a national park exactly, ya. So people were like,
- 9:16Speaker 1: it's not realistic. I mean, come on, at least we
- 9:20Speaker 1: got real snow. At least we got real snow. They
- 9:24Speaker 1: also filmed at Ferny Alpine Resort, mm the you know,
- 9:28Speaker 1: interior step. According to an interview with Christy will Wolf,
- 9:32Speaker 1: who was the director and EP of this movie, they
- 9:35Speaker 1: filmed in negative twenty degree fahrenheit weather and the biggest
- 9:39Speaker 1: challenge was making sure that everybody stayed safe and healthy
- 9:42Speaker 1: while they were shooting. I mean, Megan and I went
- 9:45Speaker 1: to Denver in December and it was twenty degrees maybe
- 9:51Speaker 1: at the coldest it was it was fifteen degrees, and
- 9:53Speaker 1: that was really freaking cold. I can't imagine negative twenty. Yeah,
- 9:57Speaker 1: I think at some point it all becomes kind of
- 10:00Speaker 1: zeros out.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Oh yeah, just cold as cold, Just cold as cold.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Got it.
- 10:04Speaker 1: So, speaking of Fernie, according to an interview with Stephen Hussar,
- 10:07Speaker 1: it is one of the most avalanche prone hills in
- 10:10Speaker 1: the Rockies and even in the world, and it has
- 10:14Speaker 1: some of the most snow accumulation over the actual ski season.
- 10:19Speaker 1: All this was filmed prior to the opening of the
- 10:21Speaker 1: ski season, got it.
- 10:22Speaker 2: You know what's kind of.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Funny is like, now he's now become the avalanche expert.
- 10:28Speaker 1: You know, we're getting his news on avalanche per the
- 10:32Speaker 1: actor mountain rescue person. It's what's it called imitating art,
- 10:36Speaker 1: That's it.
- 10:37Speaker 2: That's what I was trying to remember.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Yeah, Ashley new new Brow, Brow New Brow.
- 10:43Speaker 2: She's new to me.
- 10:44Speaker 1: She's totally new to me, but not to Hallmark. I know,
- 10:47Speaker 1: you said a couple episodes ago that you watched Christmas
- 10:49Speaker 1: movies with her. She has been in movies like Christmas
- 10:53Speaker 1: for Keeps is that when you watched he did It's
- 10:55Speaker 1: a great one, as well as five episodes of the
- 10:58Speaker 1: ABC series Mistress Is. She also starred in a show
- 11:02Speaker 1: called Privileged on the CW with Lucy Hale and Joanna Garcia,
- 11:05Speaker 1: show that I watched and love.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Really do you remember her?
- 11:09Speaker 1: I don't remember what her role is, but it's essentially
- 11:12Speaker 1: and nanny comes to this house of these two really
- 11:16Speaker 1: privileged like between teenage girls, and then so she maybe
- 11:20Speaker 1: one of the girls. Juanna Garcia plays the nanny. Lucy
- 11:24Speaker 1: Hale's one of the sisters, so I assume Ashley Nubrow
- 11:26Speaker 1: is the other sister. I would one percent watch that.
- 11:29Speaker 1: I wonder if it's available this show. It's only one
- 11:31Speaker 1: I believe it was only ever one season. Yeah, is
- 11:34Speaker 1: it streaming? Don't know, but I enjoyed that show. Steven,
- 11:38Speaker 1: Who's our Yes. It was most recently an undercover Christmas
- 11:43Speaker 1: from last year. We did not cover it here on
- 11:45Speaker 1: Girls Gone Hallmark. He also did seventeen episodes of Chesapeake Shores,
- 11:50Speaker 1: twelve episodes of Letterkenny, which is a show that mister
- 11:54Speaker 1: one Tyler Hines participates in quite a minute. He has
- 11:58Speaker 1: sixty acting credits. Quite a bit for a man I've
- 12:02Speaker 1: never seen before. Speaking of Stephen Whosar who plays Chris,
- 12:06Speaker 1: Emily Wolfe plays his daughter Samantha, and she is the
- 12:09Speaker 1: daughter of director Christy Will Wolf, with nine acting credits
- 12:13Speaker 1: to her name, including Chasing Waterfalls. Yeah, a lot of
- 12:16Speaker 1: her mom's movies. Yes about CHRISTI Will. Okay.
- 12:19Speaker 2: It's funny because she is.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Sometimes billed as Christi Will Wolf and sometimes just Christie Will.
- 12:25Speaker 2: In this movie, she was Christie Will.
- 12:28Speaker 1: She won a Best Screenwriting Award at the Canadian Leo
- 12:32Speaker 1: Awards in twenty twenty two. She has directed many movies
- 12:37Speaker 1: I personally haven't liked. I don't think it's has anything
- 12:41Speaker 1: to do with her. I can tell you for sure
- 12:43Speaker 1: doesn't have anything to do with her. But the common
- 12:45Speaker 1: thread between them, I'm gonna let you guys figure that
- 12:48Speaker 1: out is Worry Heart Belongs, Warming up to You, Chasing Waterfalls,
- 12:51Speaker 1: Don't Forget I Love You. One does not belong with
- 12:55Speaker 1: the other guys, you know. Worry Heart Belong has Jen
- 12:58Speaker 1: Lily in it. The others have Sidney Wesby there is
- 13:02Speaker 1: no writer credited anywhere for this movie. I checked IMDb,
- 13:05Speaker 1: I checked the press release, I checked tagged Instagram posts
- 13:09Speaker 1: from Christy will Wolf and others, and there is no
- 13:13Speaker 1: reference to a writer for this movie. So if you
- 13:15Speaker 1: know who wrote, I know he wrote it really well
- 13:18Speaker 1: because I stumbled across the same information as you did.
- 13:21Speaker 1: So it went back to the credits to watch and
- 13:24Speaker 1: it was written by Keith hemp Street. It's his third
- 13:27Speaker 1: writing credit. Other movies include Noel next Door and The
- 13:31Speaker 1: Most Colorful Time of the Year. Well, Keith Hempstreet got
- 13:34Speaker 1: robbed because he's not credited in a number of places
- 13:36Speaker 1: where he should be. I know, I don't know who's
- 13:39Speaker 1: Maybe he doesn't have an assistant who puts his work
- 13:42Speaker 1: into IMDb. I don't know.
- 13:43Speaker 2: I have one last little note about this movie.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Devin Alexander plays Eric, and he's been in a tome
- 13:53Speaker 1: of Chrissy will Sometimes Wolf movies.
- 13:56Speaker 2: Okay, like so many of them.
- 13:58Speaker 1: So she likes one mister Lexander, Yes, and I say
- 14:01Speaker 1: justice absolutely. I would love him as a lead. He's
- 14:05Speaker 1: so funny, nice to look at. Like, put this guy
- 14:07Speaker 1: as a lead in a movie, like, I don't get it.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Uh, huh.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Are you ready to discuss your first impression of the
- 14:12Speaker 1: longest title ever? I am go ahead, want me to
- 14:15Speaker 1: go first? Yeah, I think I might have fallen above
- 14:17Speaker 1: my head because spoiler alert, I'm one of the few
- 14:20Speaker 1: who like this movie. I'm just gonna hide here in
- 14:22Speaker 1: the corner now, everybody.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Don't mind me.
- 14:25Speaker 1: My first impression is I have to retract my previous
- 14:28Speaker 1: statements about this movie.
- 14:30Speaker 2: What did you say?
- 14:31Speaker 1: Well, I said I was so excited about this movie
- 14:34Speaker 1: and it was gonna be great.
- 14:36Speaker 2: You were super hyped for it. It was I was
- 14:39Speaker 2: not so in a.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Weird freaky Friday. Freaky Friday.
- 14:44Speaker 2: Yes, yes, let's talk.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Well that said, let's start with what's good. Let's compliment
- 14:50Speaker 1: sandwich this Okay, I'm gonna start with like the easy
- 14:55Speaker 1: this scenery was stunning totally, while the mountains are we'reous.
- 15:01Speaker 1: I have questions about avalanches. How often do they happen
- 15:05Speaker 1: a lot? Like it's like a tree falls on a forest,
- 15:08Speaker 1: Like you just don't know, Like it just happens because
- 15:10Speaker 1: you only hear, like when there's some sort of like
- 15:13Speaker 1: somebody gets hurt in one. Most avalanches occur in the
- 15:16Speaker 1: back country outside the boundaries of developed ski areas. There's
- 15:20Speaker 1: a frequency of er point eighty eight avalanches per square
- 15:23Speaker 1: kilometer per year.
- 15:25Speaker 2: That's too much math for me.
- 15:26Speaker 1: I think a reputable ski resort is not going to
- 15:30Speaker 1: build a ski run in the middle of an avalanche
- 15:33Speaker 1: prone area.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Oh, I would hope not.
- 15:36Speaker 1: But those two were like sitting on a bench and
- 15:39Speaker 1: wasn't like an avalanche happening, and they're.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Like, oh, look at that.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Yeah, like it just happens like that.
- 15:46Speaker 2: I mean that could have been footage from something else.
- 15:48Speaker 1: But yeah, I think so so weird. Okay, all right,
- 15:52Speaker 1: look I said it before, I will say it again.
- 15:54Speaker 2: I love Ashley Newbrow.
- 15:56Speaker 1: I find her absolutely delightful. She is a highighlight of
- 16:00Speaker 1: this movie for me. She's so damn cute. She's so believable.
- 16:05Speaker 1: I feel like she's just like embodies the role that
- 16:09Speaker 1: she plays. She's incredibly pleasant to watch on screen. Yeah,
- 16:12Speaker 1: I agree to love her. She gives me real Denise Richard.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Oh totally.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Yeah, like young she's a better actress than Denise Richards.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Shots fired.
- 16:21Speaker 1: I will stop my Denise Richards slander. I like her, Sorry,
- 16:24Speaker 1: and I think actually knew. I can't say her last
- 16:28Speaker 1: name new Brow. I think she's a very good actor.
- 16:32Speaker 1: It's supernatural.
- 16:33Speaker 2: I just really enjoyed watching her, just like you said.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I would watch anything she's in going forward.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Totally. I love Little Samantha. I'm shocked.
- 16:44Speaker 1: I was. You know, anytime we've got a child actor
- 16:47Speaker 1: who has a significant role in one of these movies,
- 16:51Speaker 1: my first thought is, I wonder when he's gonna have
- 16:52Speaker 1: to say you liked her. She was adorable and sassy. Totally.
- 16:55Speaker 2: I just loved it.
- 16:56Speaker 1: I was here for it.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:58Speaker 1: I thought she was so cute. I'm like more movies.
- 17:01Speaker 1: She's real cute. Okay, let me say this first. I
- 17:04Speaker 1: thought the story as a whole was a little bit mediocre,
- 17:08Speaker 1: but I did enjoy the dialogue. I felt like the
- 17:11Speaker 1: conversations that, especially like the sisters happy between each other,
- 17:17Speaker 1: were conversations like we would have between each other. It
- 17:19Speaker 1: wasn't like movie dialogue.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Huh.
- 17:22Speaker 1: So Like there was a lot.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Of like dude thrown around and stuff like that. So
- 17:25Speaker 2: I liked that.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Yeah, great lines like Travis un Courtney. Yes. I liked
- 17:31Speaker 1: the writing as well, and I suspect that some of
- 17:34Speaker 1: the problems with the story had to do with editing
- 17:37Speaker 1: more than writing, and we'll talk about that. I okay, yeah,
- 17:42Speaker 1: for sure. I really found the avalanche training scenes interesting.
- 17:46Speaker 1: I liked that they were like having them dig through
- 17:50Speaker 1: the snow and showing them what to do if you're
- 17:52Speaker 1: trying to find a person.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Can I stop you there?
- 17:55Speaker 1: When they were like sticking the pole into the ground,
- 17:59Speaker 1: what if you were the person? And on their receiving
- 18:01Speaker 1: end of that, like, I know they're looking for me,
- 18:03Speaker 1: but now they've just jabbed me with a pole. Well,
- 18:06Speaker 1: I hear you, But I think the issue is the
- 18:09Speaker 1: poles probably has a rounded tip, and you are wearing
- 18:12Speaker 1: snow clothes, so it's not going to it might be annoying.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Oh poke your eye out?
- 18:18Speaker 2: Oh okay, please find me in the snow.
- 18:21Speaker 1: What if they pokes through the clothes and then you
- 18:24Speaker 1: have a real emergency on your hands because you're bleeding
- 18:26Speaker 1: out all over the snow. I'm going to imagine they've
- 18:29Speaker 1: not created a sharp poker. I need somebody to send
- 18:33Speaker 1: us a voice memo or email us or something. Give
- 18:36Speaker 1: us all the information on the Avalanche snow poker. Now,
- 18:39Speaker 1: the avalanche training was not widely appreciated. There are some
- 18:43Speaker 1: members of our Facebook group who didn't feel like that
- 18:45Speaker 1: was necessary. But I think that's maybe a complaint about
- 18:48Speaker 1: the movie as a whole, not about like that wasn't
- 18:50Speaker 1: enough to save the movie for them.
- 18:52Speaker 2: I found it quite interesting.
- 18:55Speaker 1: The last thing I liked. I kind of like, there's
- 18:57Speaker 1: like multiple mentions of climate change and science prevailing and
- 19:01Speaker 1: big fans of science and don't you believe in science?
- 19:04Speaker 1: And I was like, yes, thank you to the progressive
- 19:07Speaker 1: writer of this movie. I enjoyed that. Keith hem Street, Yes,
- 19:11Speaker 1: I agree. I'm ready for wishes because my list is long. Man. Okay, well,
- 19:16Speaker 1: let's just talk about the first one. Chris is a
- 19:18Speaker 1: complete dick. Mine is that Chris wasn't such a jerk.
- 19:21Speaker 1: It's tragically your wife died, but the prediction system didn't
- 19:24Speaker 1: kill her. He had so many problems with him, Like one,
- 19:28Speaker 1: I couldn't even find him attractive because he was such
- 19:30Speaker 1: an asshole. And some scenes he'd be like so nice,
- 19:35Speaker 1: but like, dude was not going to be convinced that
- 19:38Speaker 1: there was a better way than his way, and that
- 19:41Speaker 1: was infuriating because here it is in contrast to that,
- 19:46Speaker 1: she was like, show me your search and rescue methods.
- 19:50Speaker 1: I'm here to learn for it. I want to see
- 19:53Speaker 1: what Like she was so open to him and he
- 19:55Speaker 1: was so closed off, and I was like, red flag,
- 19:59Speaker 1: red flag, Why why are you into this dude who
- 20:02Speaker 1: is completely dismissive of all the work that.
- 20:05Speaker 2: You put into this.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Yes, and her attitude was, I think our two methods
- 20:11Speaker 1: can work together, right, all, let's use all of the
- 20:14Speaker 1: tools and our arsenal to protect ourselves and prevent getting
- 20:18Speaker 1: stuck in an avalanche. And he's like, this is the
- 20:20Speaker 1: only way to do it. And because I wrote for
- 20:23Speaker 1: that matter, could he please stfe about hating Heather's prediction system.
- 20:26Speaker 1: It's a tool. It doesn't replace humans, but works alongside them.
- 20:30Speaker 1: And then when he had the information from the tool
- 20:33Speaker 1: that an avalanche was imminent, he wasn't willing to test
- 20:36Speaker 1: the snow himself because he didn't have time alone. I
- 20:40Speaker 1: wish she would have bounced at the end. I don't
- 20:43Speaker 1: want me. And yes, it is very tragic that his
- 20:48Speaker 1: wife died because the prediction system didn't tell her there
- 20:50Speaker 1: was an avalanche. But sir, she didn't test the snow.
- 20:53Speaker 1: When they're telling the story, she did not do the tests.
- 20:57Speaker 1: So your system is flawed too, because it is run
- 21:00Speaker 1: by humans, and humans are not always going to make
- 21:03Speaker 1: the best choice.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Right exactly. Yeah.
- 21:06Speaker 1: I just hated the entire like he was so threatened
- 21:09Speaker 1: by like her coming in, where it was like he
- 21:12Speaker 1: could not see that like what she was offering was
- 21:15Speaker 1: just something in Edgine too. Yes, And I felt like
- 21:19Speaker 1: this is going to be your whole life. He is
- 21:21Speaker 1: going to feel like he knows the right way to
- 21:23Speaker 1: do it and there is no room for any other
- 21:26Speaker 1: input about anything else, and you're just gonna get run over. Yeah.
- 21:31Speaker 2: Yeah. And it's not like she's some schlup.
- 21:33Speaker 1: She's a doctor, you know. So, which then goes back
- 21:37Speaker 1: to like what bugs me a little bit is that
- 21:39Speaker 1: he can't appreciate the science, you know what I mean?
- 21:44Speaker 1: And I think if you look at a picture of
- 21:48Speaker 1: a hole about like what's going on in our society
- 21:50Speaker 1: right now, science versus like, you.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Know, a lot of right.
- 21:54Speaker 1: And then the next election they're gonna get a big
- 21:55Speaker 1: fight and then she's gonna be like, what have I
- 21:57Speaker 1: done with my life? I'm married to this guy and
- 21:59Speaker 1: our values don't align.
- 22:01Speaker 2: Yes, yes, that's what I wished for.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Okay, this is a smaller one that poor Sonia wasn't
- 22:06Speaker 1: portrayed as this needy chick who couldn't take a hint.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Much of this movie felt like the hallmark of Yesteryear.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Oh interesting.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Her storyline was really weird to me, and I first like,
- 22:19Speaker 1: when Heather and Chris were run into each other at
- 22:22Speaker 1: the massage place, what and Sonya comes out behind him
- 22:27Speaker 1: and like fully like really gives Heather like the up
- 22:30Speaker 1: and down and like very territorial over Chris right, And
- 22:35Speaker 1: I was like, Oh, that's interesting, Like is that something
- 22:39Speaker 1: that would be normal for Mark in years past? Like
- 22:44Speaker 1: I don't know about that. I just felt like the blatant.
- 22:48Speaker 1: I don't feel like Sonya portrayed a real person, Like
- 22:53Speaker 1: are real people acting? She was like Claire Arnold, who
- 22:56Speaker 1: like couldn't take a hint, who like showed up at
- 22:58Speaker 1: Brandon's house. Oh Claire Arnold when she was in high school? Yes, yeah,
- 23:02Speaker 1: she feels like this actress. He made it clear that
- 23:05Speaker 1: he wasn't interested. She was a pretty lady. She doesn't
- 23:09Speaker 1: need him, move on. Yeah. It was kind of weird, right,
- 23:13Speaker 1: I mean I didn't the problem. The problem was I
- 23:15Speaker 1: didn't like her in this movie, and I was thinking
- 23:18Speaker 1: about why I didn't like her, and I'm blaming the
- 23:20Speaker 1: story because she was desperate.
- 23:24Speaker 2: Yes, I don't like it.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Yeah it was weird, like she like showed up at
- 23:29Speaker 1: their house to crash, Like that was just come on, Yeah,
- 23:33Speaker 1: arnold handcuffing herself to Brandon's bed downstairs on The Couch Show.
- 23:39Speaker 2: If you don't just watch that episode reference.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Okay, Yeah, I didn't like Sonia either, and I felt
- 23:48Speaker 1: that her storyline was not needed.
- 23:51Speaker 2: They didn't.
- 23:53Speaker 1: He could have just been like a single dad who
- 23:55Speaker 1: was real working, real hard still and like lost his wife.
- 23:58Speaker 1: He didn't need to like have some you know, like
- 24:01Speaker 1: date gone wrong or whatever. First of all, if you're
- 24:07Speaker 1: dating your massage therapist, you don't. It just is like weird,
- 24:11Speaker 1: Like don't cross the line, dude, Like it just is
- 24:14Speaker 1: weird because you're in a very massaging seems very intimate, right,
- 24:19Speaker 1: And if you've taken this woman out and then decided
- 24:22Speaker 1: that you don't really like her, don't go back for
- 24:24Speaker 1: that's an excellent point. Don't put her in the position
- 24:27Speaker 1: when you know she's into you. Find another massage therapist
- 24:31Speaker 1: in this resort spot. And now, if I could just
- 24:34Speaker 1: mention here the whole cross country ski race between Sonya
- 24:40Speaker 1: was that hijinks at its finest with the music. It
- 24:44Speaker 1: was so bad just the way was even shot, because
- 24:49Speaker 1: it was like waste up at some points and then
- 24:51Speaker 1: like waist down, like you see their legs moving, then
- 24:54Speaker 1: you see the arms moving. Then I'm like, what is happening?
- 24:57Speaker 1: You know what's happening? Well, sisters all go sit it
- 25:02Speaker 1: just oh my god. What is the point with who wins?
- 25:06Speaker 1: What you win? Chris, if you win the cross country
- 25:09Speaker 1: I'm the master cross country skier? Pick me? Pick me?
- 25:12Speaker 1: Was weird? Okay? Well, you saying that Sonya's storyline was
- 25:18Speaker 1: not necessary solves this next problem, which for me is
- 25:23Speaker 1: what the hell happened to Riley? Her story is so unfinished. Yes,
- 25:27Speaker 1: she takes the pregnancy test, it's negative, and then we
- 25:31Speaker 1: hear nothing else. I know, there's no resolution. She doesn't
- 25:34Speaker 1: even have a conversation with her sister about it, she
- 25:36Speaker 1: doesn't have a conversation with her husband about it. There's
- 25:38Speaker 1: no like, what are our next steps? There's so much
- 25:40Speaker 1: room for that. That story is so much more interesting
- 25:44Speaker 1: than this dumb competition story from this Messuse cut all
- 25:48Speaker 1: of that and give Riley a complete story, or don't
- 25:51Speaker 1: start her story at all, right, but they didn't finish it. Oh,
- 25:54Speaker 1: she's not pregnant, okay, I was waiting like at the end,
- 25:58Speaker 1: I have like a one year later and she there
- 26:00Speaker 1: with like a baby or something, and it was just over.
- 26:03Speaker 2: Well, like why didn't they do Why.
- 26:04Speaker 1: They totally leave her hanging out or they've adopted because
- 26:07Speaker 1: there was I thought that scene with her and Samantha
- 26:09Speaker 1: they made snow angels and they're at that was very sweet, yes,
- 26:13Speaker 1: and I thought, oh, maybe she'll be like, well, maybe
- 26:15Speaker 1: we should adopt an older child, or we should foster
- 26:18Speaker 1: or you know, we don't need to have a baby, right,
- 26:21Speaker 1: But they completely left that story hanging.
- 26:23Speaker 2: So do you think it got cut?
- 26:25Speaker 1: Yes at it?
- 26:26Speaker 2: Yeah I do.
- 26:27Speaker 1: But how do you like watch the movie and go,
- 26:30Speaker 1: we're just gonna.
- 26:30Speaker 2: Leave it like that?
- 26:31Speaker 1: That negative pregnancy test feels like enough of a resolution
- 26:34Speaker 1: to me, she's not pregnant, like they started with, they've
- 26:36Speaker 1: done IDF, they're waiting on the results.
- 26:39Speaker 2: She's not pregnant.
- 26:40Speaker 1: The end, I will say, I was quite sad when
- 26:43Speaker 1: they showed her negative by herself. Yeah, I like felt
- 26:47Speaker 1: it deeply, like for her. I was so sad and
- 26:49Speaker 1: then to have no resolution after that, like nothing, she
- 26:53Speaker 1: deserved better.
- 26:54Speaker 2: I agree, Well, do you have any more wishes?
- 26:58Speaker 1: I do? Okay, I wish that Chris super Hot mountain
- 27:01Speaker 1: Man would get some game and not let his tween
- 27:03Speaker 1: do all of the matchmaking for him.
- 27:04Speaker 2: Oh, she doesn't need.
- 27:05Speaker 1: To ask her out, ask her to the dumb razor. Yeah, okay, no,
- 27:10Speaker 1: I agree. I just love the daughter so much. She
- 27:13Speaker 1: would so cute and I yeah, that's all I'm gonna
- 27:16Speaker 1: say about that.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Okay, it's time for digit see that.
- 27:19Speaker 1: I have quite a few, quite a few. My first
- 27:23Speaker 1: one is I'm going to give credit to Facebook group
- 27:27Speaker 1: member Mike for pointing out with pictures by the way
- 27:30Speaker 1: and our group, that's when they went to go do
- 27:34Speaker 1: their avalanche training. They got onto a helicopter, which I'm like,
- 27:38Speaker 1: whoa budget for a helicopter? Here?
- 27:40Speaker 2: Okay.
- 27:40Speaker 1: At one point they have this like luggage rack that's full,
- 27:44Speaker 1: and then when the helicopter is taking out, the luggage
- 27:47Speaker 1: rack is empty. Another did you see that that I
- 27:50Speaker 1: joinked from IMDb is that when they get in that helicopter,
- 27:54Speaker 1: five people go up, but six come out. Shut up again.
- 28:01Speaker 1: This is an IMDb moment, But that's that's what they say.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Shut up. That's funny. In that scene his class, do
- 28:10Speaker 1: you think the other people in his class or his
- 28:13Speaker 1: experience or whatever he was training and they were like
- 28:18Speaker 1: sharing why they were Do you think those.
- 28:20Speaker 2: Were real people?
- 28:21Speaker 1: And I felt like real people right. They did not
- 28:23Speaker 1: feel like actors. They looked like normal people.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Yeah, tell them the story of their daughters getting stuck
- 28:29Speaker 2: and now I want to So.
- 28:30Speaker 1: I wonder if they were like, yo, we're Infernie or
- 28:33Speaker 1: wherever they were, They're like, hey, have you ever had experience?
- 28:36Speaker 1: We're looking for people to share their story here or whatever.
- 28:38Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Yeah, because we were working with actual avalanche rescue dog,
- 28:44Speaker 1: the actual avalanche rescue team, So you know, maybe we'll
- 28:48Speaker 1: give you this training in exchange for appearing.
- 28:50Speaker 2: In these scenes. Yeah. I thought it was cool. Here's
- 28:53Speaker 2: a funny one.
- 28:54Speaker 1: The sisters Riley and Heather are in like the Jacuzzie
- 28:57Speaker 1: pre spa appointment. Yeah, drinking out of like plastic glasses.
- 29:03Speaker 1: It up.
- 29:03Speaker 2: There's a tag on the bottom of yep. Price tag YEP.
- 29:07Speaker 1: Also, according to IMDb, Ashley Newbrow sports the first bikini
- 29:11Speaker 1: on a Hallmark movie get Out by do you banging right.
- 29:15Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, I get in a bikini two
- 29:16Speaker 1: to get in that. You know, if that were me
- 29:18Speaker 1: in that scene, you'd have to cut from the robe
- 29:20Speaker 1: to me under the blanket. Absolutely not allowed the in
- 29:24Speaker 1: between climbing into bedshot, which nobody can make look good
- 29:28Speaker 1: except Ashley Newbrow. So there were so many people, especially
- 29:35Speaker 1: a guy at the beginning, who have like red freezer
- 29:38Speaker 1: bird on his face. This is why I think these
- 29:40Speaker 1: people are like local because it's so freaking cold there.
- 29:44Speaker 2: And you know how red myt face got when we
- 29:45Speaker 2: were in Denver.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Like it's the wind and the cold.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Yes, I was like aching for them to put like.
- 29:51Speaker 1: A sick so slug their face. Please slug your face.
- 29:55Speaker 1: And if you guys don't know what we're talking about,
- 29:57Speaker 1: I'm going to leave a link to our megana windy Yeah. Hey,
- 30:02Speaker 1: so I need to talk about the auction. Okay, what
- 30:05Speaker 1: a mess? Chris says. Anybody who donates over five hundred
- 30:08Speaker 1: dollars will earn this experience, and then they start doing
- 30:11Speaker 1: a live auction of what exactly you have negated the
- 30:14Speaker 1: points If you don't, these are two separate things. If
- 30:17Speaker 1: you're doing a live auction, it should be for one thing,
- 30:19Speaker 1: and the person who bids the most wins the thing.
- 30:22Speaker 1: It was wondering the set if you want to say,
- 30:24Speaker 1: a five hundred dollars donation or organization will earn you whatever. Ward,
- 30:29Speaker 1: that's a different thing. But it was very okay. So
- 30:31Speaker 1: now you said anybody can get it. Uh huh. But
- 30:33Speaker 1: now you I think we're meant to believe like this
- 30:36Speaker 1: person's paying five hundred for this person's paying a thousand
- 30:39Speaker 1: and four, this person's paying two thousand and four. These
- 30:41Speaker 1: people have never been to an auction, like auction something
- 30:44Speaker 1: else off. Yeah, I was like, what is a private
- 30:47Speaker 1: day of skiing? Meet the avalanche dogs? Oh? I went
- 30:51Speaker 1: big for that.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Yeah, come on. That was confusing.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Also confusing was the talk of ivf M. I don't
- 30:58Speaker 1: know if you'll caught it is when Riley and Heather
- 31:00Speaker 1: are out to dinner, and it was quite funny. They
- 31:03Speaker 1: were talking about her husband's swimmers and they put the
- 31:05Speaker 1: swimmers in there and like whatever that is not technically
- 31:09Speaker 1: in vitro fertiliza I ui. They did say if yes, yes,
- 31:15Speaker 1: and maybe you know science, we don't want to get
- 31:17Speaker 1: into the weeds about it, so we're just gonna skim
- 31:19Speaker 1: over that, just like the DNA talk of Yes, because
- 31:22Speaker 1: IVF they'd need implanting a obviously fertilized embryo, yes, me
- 31:27Speaker 1: and IUI. Then we got a root for the swimmers. Yes, yes,
- 31:30Speaker 1: I did think it was quite funny. The waiter's reaction
- 31:34Speaker 1: more water, Yeah, pretty damn funny. Finally, for me, it's
- 31:39Speaker 1: just a question. They were on like that snow cat thing.
- 31:44Speaker 1: And I'm not familiar with those machines. I think they
- 31:47Speaker 1: like plow snow or they get you through the snow
- 31:51Speaker 1: or something. Is that the machine that Jeremy Renner? I
- 31:57Speaker 1: thought he was on a snow plow. Jeremy Renner was
- 31:59Speaker 1: injured by a snow plow while trying to save nephew.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Actor was attempting to stop a six ton vehicle from
- 32:06Speaker 1: hitting his relative after getting out without applying the emergency brake. Yikes, well,
- 32:12Speaker 1: well whatever if one of those, but it's huge. He
- 32:15Speaker 1: had used the snowplow to tow his nephew's truck out
- 32:17Speaker 1: of the snow. After getting out without setting the break,
- 32:19Speaker 1: he attempted to stop the plow sliding towards his nephew.
- 32:22Speaker 1: So you think we're looking at a similar type of
- 32:25Speaker 1: a large vehicle than yeahike sees Okay. I was just wondering,
- 32:30Speaker 1: are you ready to rate GNP? Yeah, I gave it
- 32:34Speaker 1: a two point seven five star. I give it three.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Oh, I got it to I kind of liked it.
- 32:39Speaker 1: When it was over, I was like, it's like educational
- 32:42Speaker 1: and interesting, but there was a lot of like things
- 32:45Speaker 1: I didn't like about it, but overall it was an
- 32:47Speaker 1: enjoyable experience.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, next week we will.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Be back with a review of Sweeter Than Chocolate, and
- 32:54Speaker 1: tomorrow we will be back with our recap of The
