- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:10Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes seven sixty one and seven sixty two.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Time limit closes in the bond between the Mink Tribe
- 0:20Speaker 1: and the crew and the delinquent comes home Emperor Big
- 0:26Speaker 1: Mom's assassins. In these episodes, we get some more of
- 0:34Speaker 1: the details about exactly what's going on with Sanji, and
- 0:37Speaker 1: it is not what I expected. Friends. I really had
- 0:41Speaker 1: a very specific idea of where he was what happened.
- 0:49Speaker 1: I was so far off and literally, guys, it just
- 0:53Speaker 1: never even occurred to me. There was another option, my surprise.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Welcome to spoil Me. Welcome to the show everyone. I
- 1:20Speaker 1: am Natasha. Thank you very much to Florian for commissioning
- 1:24Speaker 1: this episode. Florian is here in the chat along with
- 1:28Speaker 1: Sarah fem So, thank you very much to both of
- 1:31Speaker 1: you for being here. Yeah, these two episodes I actually
- 1:36Speaker 1: really really enjoyed. I was surprised at how I just
- 1:43Speaker 1: you know, it was very gripping because of the assumptions
- 1:48Speaker 1: that I had made and then finding out that I
- 1:50Speaker 1: was as dead wrong about all of it. So let's
- 1:54Speaker 1: jump in, shall we. The time limit closes in I
- 1:59Speaker 1: had mentioned you know already in the previous episode that
- 2:05Speaker 1: I found it a little bit what's the word I
- 2:08Speaker 1: want chilling, Perhaps when we find out that it's Caesar
- 2:15Speaker 1: who created the gas that's used on all of the
- 2:17Speaker 1: mink tribe, and the first half I would say of
- 2:25Speaker 1: this episode focuses a lot on Caesar figuring out how
- 2:31Speaker 1: to undo the damage that was done. I was the
- 2:42Speaker 1: scene where Caesar is really excited because it's the gas
- 2:47Speaker 1: that he invented. Happened in the previous episode, but I
- 2:52Speaker 1: didn't get like I had forgotten about this thing that
- 2:56Speaker 1: sort of caught my attention, and so I didn't mention it.
- 2:58Speaker 1: So I want to mention it here. There is a
- 3:02Speaker 1: face Caesar is making as he realizes that this is
- 3:07Speaker 1: his invention that is so off putting, and it's definitely
- 3:14Speaker 1: meant to be like him being overcome with excitement at
- 3:20Speaker 1: getting to see it in the like in the flesh,
- 3:24Speaker 1: see it working, and you know, he clearly like imagined
- 3:30Speaker 1: what the effect of the gas would be but never
- 3:33Speaker 1: actually got to see it. So there's that aspect of it.
- 3:38Speaker 1: But the face that he is making is his eyes
- 3:46Speaker 1: are doing something and I can't even really describe it.
- 3:50Speaker 1: But I never want to see this look on his
- 3:52Speaker 1: face ever again. That's all I'm gonna say on the
- 3:55Speaker 1: matter is just that it was a different Caesar Clown
- 3:58Speaker 1: than we normally get to see, and I hated it.
- 4:02Speaker 1: I'm gonna also just like quickly, guys a little peek
- 4:06Speaker 1: behind the curtain, as if there's any curtain really on
- 4:09Speaker 1: this show. But something is going on with Crunchy roll
- 4:13Speaker 1: right now, and I can't actually see any of the animation.
- 4:19Speaker 1: I am on the episode. It is playing the slider
- 4:24Speaker 1: to scrub to different parts of the episode. When I
- 4:26Speaker 1: am on that slider, I can see the animation in
- 4:29Speaker 1: a little thumbnail, but the larger screen is black and
- 4:34Speaker 1: the subtitles are working. That's the only thing that's popping up.
- 4:39Speaker 1: So I don't know what's going on. But forgive me
- 4:41Speaker 1: if there is something that I'm not really able to
- 4:43Speaker 1: see the detail of, because I'm kind of having to
- 4:46Speaker 1: just go along with the thumbnail right now. So anyway,
- 4:52Speaker 1: the whole like Caesar Clown, it's like ecstasy. It's in raptures,
- 4:56Speaker 1: you know. And I was so proud of Chopping for
- 5:00Speaker 1: beating the ever loving hell out of him. He is
- 5:04Speaker 1: so he has such a firm sense of right and wrong.
- 5:09Speaker 1: And when Caesar tries to be like, I didn't set
- 5:15Speaker 1: the gas off. I don't know why you're yelling at me.
- 5:18Speaker 1: I didn't do this. I was ready to hurl and
- 5:23Speaker 1: thankfully immediately Chopper is like, if you hadn't invented this
- 5:30Speaker 1: fucking garbage, we wouldn't be here in the first place,
- 5:34Speaker 1: which correct. Everybody applaud Chopper. Yes, thank you, I Caesar,
- 5:41Speaker 1: come now. He really does see it that way, though,
- 5:45Speaker 1: I suspect you know what I'm saying, Like, I this
- 5:53Speaker 1: is the thing I think with the state of the world,
- 6:01Speaker 1: there are a lot of people I think that are
- 6:04Speaker 1: really good at detaching their own actions from the consequences
- 6:11Speaker 1: of those actions and divorcing them in such a way
- 6:15Speaker 1: that they are able to tell themselves an entire story
- 6:19Speaker 1: about why the suffering or exploitation of other people isn't
- 6:25Speaker 1: that big a deal actually, And it's really like it's
- 6:31Speaker 1: something that I understand in that as a younger person,
- 6:38Speaker 1: when I would watch movies or TV shows or read
- 6:42Speaker 1: books where you know, somebody died because they did a
- 6:46Speaker 1: thing to save someone, the person who survived because they
- 6:51Speaker 1: were saved, being like they are dead because of me.
- 6:54Speaker 1: It's my fault. I would get really impatient with that
- 7:00Speaker 1: kind of sentiment because it always just felt for me,
- 7:04Speaker 1: how like that person made a choice, and yes they
- 7:10Speaker 1: wound up dead, but it is not your fault that
- 7:15Speaker 1: they're dead. You didn't shove them in front of the train,
- 7:18Speaker 1: you know that kind of thing. I really only understood
- 7:25Speaker 1: consequences in a super direct and yes, childish way. Now
- 7:33Speaker 1: that I have grown up, I understand the ripple effect
- 7:37Speaker 1: of actions taken, and I understand that while something may
- 7:43Speaker 1: technically be truly not somebody's fault, while something might yes,
- 7:49Speaker 1: a person made a choice in doing the thing they did,
- 7:54Speaker 1: you still can feel like it was your fault because
- 7:58Speaker 1: of a feeling of obligation in the moment, feeling like
- 8:02Speaker 1: maybe you owed somebody something or a manipulation that was
- 8:07Speaker 1: you know, put on you. This this sort of thing
- 8:11Speaker 1: is I think part of what is wrong with our
- 8:15Speaker 1: world in general is how many people are able to
- 8:20Speaker 1: just step aside from their fault in a thing and
- 8:26Speaker 1: then behave as if any other fallout is none of
- 8:31Speaker 1: their business. Basically, you know, Caesar made these horrible weapons
- 8:38Speaker 1: and genuinely feels like the fact that there are so
- 8:42Speaker 1: many casualties here has nothing to do with him, and
- 8:46Speaker 1: I really think that he actually believes that, And there
- 8:51Speaker 1: is a part of me I am not going to
- 8:54Speaker 1: lie at kids that sometimes is like, it must be
- 8:59Speaker 1: so nice to live like that. It must be so
- 9:04Speaker 1: lovely to feel no like responsibility or shame about a
- 9:14Speaker 1: thing I can't imagine, because like, I just don't live
- 9:20Speaker 1: like that ever, not since I was little. And it's
- 9:25Speaker 1: very infuriating to know that there are a lot of
- 9:28Speaker 1: fucking not just adults out there, but also adults with
- 9:33Speaker 1: real power, people who really have the ability to make
- 9:38Speaker 1: the world a better place, and they just don't. And
- 9:42Speaker 1: they don't see a single thing wrong with the fact
- 9:44Speaker 1: that they're choosing not to. And I can't understand that mindset,
- 9:51Speaker 1: you know. I just I don't think I ever will.
- 9:55Speaker 1: And in reality, as much as I say it must
- 9:57Speaker 1: be nice, I don't really want too because it would
- 10:02Speaker 1: turn me into a much worse person. But I envy
- 10:06Speaker 1: the simplicity and the free feeling that people like that
- 10:10Speaker 1: must have. So anyway, as usual, Sangi has to bully
- 10:20Speaker 1: Caesar into doing something about this gas by squeezing his heart,
- 10:25Speaker 1: and they get that whole thing with the water rushing
- 10:29Speaker 1: over them just as this is being cleared up, and
- 10:33Speaker 1: so we kind of pick up here in the part
- 10:36Speaker 1: of the story where are where the episode that first
- 10:43Speaker 1: rejoins this crew picks up. I don't know how many
- 10:48Speaker 1: episodes ago now, it was probably like ten or twelve,
- 10:52Speaker 1: but yeah, it was. It was this moment where they're
- 10:57Speaker 1: having the confrontation with Sheep's head and gin Rummy, and
- 11:04Speaker 1: I thought, because Jin Rummy, you know, remember, she says
- 11:08Speaker 1: something like, clearly, the Samurai isn't here if we haven't
- 11:14Speaker 1: found him after pushing them this far, so go back
- 11:18Speaker 1: and report that he isn't here. I uh. At the time,
- 11:26Speaker 1: I thought that she was talking just about our guys
- 11:31Speaker 1: and pushing the straw hats this far, and that we
- 11:35Speaker 1: had come in at the tail end of a pretty
- 11:37Speaker 1: big straw hats fight, and that she was saying, Okay,
- 11:41Speaker 1: so the Samurai isn't with the straw Hats. So I
- 11:46Speaker 1: was thinking that it was either Kinemon or Contred or
- 11:51Speaker 1: even potentially Zoro, even though that didn't really seem very likely.
- 11:59Speaker 1: So now find out it was not actually anything to
- 12:04Speaker 1: do with them. When she's talking about he's not here
- 12:07Speaker 1: after we pushed them this far. She's talking about the Minx,
- 12:10Speaker 1: So it just recontextualizes that whole thing. And also it
- 12:15Speaker 1: makes it so that my assumption that Sanji got grabbed
- 12:23Speaker 1: up by them, like I'm starting, I'm starting to see
- 12:27Speaker 1: at this point in the episode, I'm like, wait a second,
- 12:29Speaker 1: did they grab him? Is he the one? Because it
- 12:31Speaker 1: sounds like they wanted to pull out of this, and
- 12:35Speaker 1: eventually we see that that isn't it. But we have
- 12:41Speaker 1: then the sort of recovery section of the episode, which
- 12:47Speaker 1: this is as close as we get in this show
- 12:52Speaker 1: other than like the celebration parties that we always have
- 12:58Speaker 1: at the end of an arc. This is the closest
- 13:01Speaker 1: that we get to a moment of everybody getting to
- 13:08Speaker 1: just chill together and show off their skill sets in
- 13:13Speaker 1: a much lower stakes setting than we usually get to see.
- 13:19Speaker 1: And you guys know, I was super, super into this.
- 13:24Speaker 1: We get Chopper managing to basically heal everybody. You know,
- 13:31Speaker 1: he's managing. There's a nurse and I think there's another
- 13:35Speaker 1: doctor or maybe he's also a nurse or something, but
- 13:41Speaker 1: Chopper is in charge of the two of them. We
- 13:45Speaker 1: get Soanji making a huge bowl of food for everybody,
- 13:51Speaker 1: and you know just that bit where he gets to
- 13:55Speaker 1: roll in a giant pot that he has made for
- 13:59Speaker 1: every body to enjoy, and how excited he is, and
- 14:03Speaker 1: how all of the people like the the gas. They
- 14:09Speaker 1: had sort of thought at first that maybe everybody who
- 14:11Speaker 1: was down was actually dead. And eventually they begin to
- 14:17Speaker 1: come to when we realize they're going to be okay,
- 14:20Speaker 1: but they're still like weak and in tough shape. But here,
- 14:24Speaker 1: once we see them eating, they're beginning to regain their
- 14:27Speaker 1: strength and kind of come back to themselves. Then we
- 14:31Speaker 1: get Brooke, who is playing music for them. He's doing
- 14:38Speaker 1: the I can't remember the name of it, you guys,
- 14:43Speaker 1: but you know his song, and it's just everybody getting
- 14:47Speaker 1: to like relax and rest and it was really nice.
- 14:55Speaker 1: I just this is one of my favorite elements of
- 15:00Speaker 1: the story, and I want more of it than we get.
- 15:03Speaker 1: And maybe that's exactly the way it should be. Maybe
- 15:07Speaker 1: I should always want more of this kind of thing.
- 15:11Speaker 1: But sorry, oh my god, there's a bunch of chat
- 15:14Speaker 1: that I missed. Floren says there is a novel called
- 15:18Speaker 1: The Physicists, which explores the extent to which scientists behind
- 15:22Speaker 1: it are to blame when a destructive weapon is used.
- 15:24Speaker 1: It is really good and kind of a comedy. Interesting. Yeah,
- 15:29Speaker 1: it's the sort of thing that, like, it's tough too
- 15:32Speaker 1: because there are inventions that are made for a different
- 15:36Speaker 1: purpose and then some fucking psychopath comes along and sees
- 15:41Speaker 1: this incredible advancement and they figure out, oh, I know
- 15:44Speaker 1: how we can use this as a weapon. And the
- 15:47Speaker 1: scientist is like, wait, what, Like that's not this was
- 15:50Speaker 1: supposed to help people who are blind. What do you mean?
- 15:53Speaker 1: You know, Like, so I'm not trying to say every
- 15:56Speaker 1: bad thing that comes out of it, somebody is like
- 15:58Speaker 1: necessarily directly respond because sometimes things are out of your hands.
- 16:02Speaker 1: But you go, what I'm saying, Saraphim says, true, But
- 16:05Speaker 1: in Caesar's case, he's just an asshole. Well, I mean,
- 16:08Speaker 1: like that's that's kind of my point. That's what I'm saying,
- 16:11Speaker 1: is that these people who don't feel that connection are assholes.
- 16:15Speaker 1: I love how much Chopper gets to shine as a
- 16:17Speaker 1: doctor in these episodes. It is Florin exactly, Sarah m
- 16:21Speaker 1: I do love the whole helping the minx section. The
- 16:24Speaker 1: goat is doctor Miagi, the squirrel is his nurse Tristan
- 16:29Speaker 1: Bink's saki right, because it's Bink's brew in the dub
- 16:36Speaker 1: Florian says. And before that, Wanda tried to blow up Nami.
- 16:39Speaker 1: How nice? Right? I forgot about how Wanda comes out
- 16:43Speaker 1: of nowhere, And you know, I kind of want to
- 16:47Speaker 1: fault her a little bit for being like, are you
- 16:51Speaker 1: with them? Yeah? Because she like yells you're with them,
- 16:56Speaker 1: aren't you? But then doesn't actually like really wait for
- 17:00Speaker 1: an answer before attacking. And so there's a part of
- 17:02Speaker 1: me that feels like, hey, girl, you could have slowed
- 17:06Speaker 1: your role on that a little bit. And then there's
- 17:09Speaker 1: another part of me that's like, why would you ever
- 17:11Speaker 1: assume they weren't with them? Like, of course that's what
- 17:16Speaker 1: she's assuming they're humans and they're here. What else would
- 17:20Speaker 1: you think? You know? So I pretty much pulled back
- 17:23Speaker 1: on my internal criticism of her with that, but I
- 17:27Speaker 1: will say that, and you, guys, I really want to
- 17:33Speaker 1: like emphasize here. I don't like making the same criticisms
- 17:42Speaker 1: over and over. So when I start to do this
- 17:45Speaker 1: and you feel tempted to roll your eyes and go
- 17:48Speaker 1: here she goes again about a thing, I really want
- 17:52Speaker 1: you to step back and think, is it that I
- 17:54Speaker 1: am going again or is it that the show is
- 17:57Speaker 1: going again? Because it really makes me sad that the
- 18:06Speaker 1: only like in the in the midst of the We're
- 18:10Speaker 1: helping the Minx recover section, all that Nami really gets
- 18:15Speaker 1: to do. It feels like is exchange clothes with Wanda,
- 18:21Speaker 1: and you know, like if there's something that I am forgetting,
- 18:28Speaker 1: let me know, remind me, and you know, that's fine,
- 18:32Speaker 1: But it just feels like I want the women characters
- 18:42Speaker 1: to be to have more of Like it's not like
- 18:47Speaker 1: Nami doesn't have a talent, because she does. It's navigation
- 18:52Speaker 1: and it's this weather thing, but it just feels like
- 18:56Speaker 1: there are so few moments where she really gets to
- 18:59Speaker 1: show the things off anymore, and otherwise it's a little
- 19:05Speaker 1: it's just kind of a letdown upon occasion. So I
- 19:10Speaker 1: will say, though, I do like that, because, like, you know,
- 19:12Speaker 1: when I first saw her in this outfit, I was
- 19:15Speaker 1: very much like, that is so pretty. Nammy looks amazing,
- 19:19Speaker 1: you know, and Namy herself is one percent just like,
- 19:23Speaker 1: oh my god, this is gorgeous, thank you so much.
- 19:26Speaker 1: And then she finds out that this is like heirloom
- 19:29Speaker 1: clothing that is being given to her as a gift
- 19:32Speaker 1: and an indicator of friendship. And the trading of clothes
- 19:37Speaker 1: is part of mink culture and you know, ensuring that
- 19:41Speaker 1: you are friends, this is like part of the ritual.
- 19:45Speaker 1: So that explains why later Wanda is wearing NAMMY's bikini top.
- 19:53Speaker 1: But the only thing that Nami really hears that it's
- 19:57Speaker 1: not so much like, oh, I'm honor that I'm being
- 20:01Speaker 1: given this this piece of history. She just immediately gets
- 20:08Speaker 1: basically like dollar signs in her eyes about how she's
- 20:12Speaker 1: got this really valuable piece. And I like, I understand
- 20:18Speaker 1: the sentiment. But as I am an extremely practical grown up,
- 20:23Speaker 1: all I could think was, Nomy, just try and sell
- 20:25Speaker 1: this somewhere and see what you get for it, Like
- 20:28Speaker 1: nobody cares about the history of this place. I bet
- 20:30Speaker 1: I don't see it. Just enjoy that it's a beautiful
- 20:33Speaker 1: piece of clothing. That's fine, Saraphim says. Also in pure
- 20:37Speaker 1: Odo wordplay, the gas Caesar uses to neutralize the poison.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Gas is just the poison. Gas is name spelled backward
- 20:44Speaker 1: in Japanese. That makes sense. Actually, yeah, I like that.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Florian says, she's the emotional support who cheers Wanda up,
- 20:53Speaker 1: which is fine if she is not the only woman, right, Like,
- 20:57Speaker 1: that's it, And then Florian says, I love the outfit.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Saraphim says, she's also the one in the group with
- 21:05Speaker 1: the high charisma who talked the minks into listening to them,
- 21:09Speaker 1: And yeah, this is one of my favorite Nami outfits. Look,
- 21:11Speaker 1: Nomino's the value of money and we'll find a way
- 21:14Speaker 1: to get paid. That's fair, Sarapheim about her high charisma.
- 21:22Speaker 1: And I suppose you're right that it's like, you know
- 21:25Speaker 1: that this is a valuable asset. It just is part
- 21:30Speaker 1: of this ongoing thing where it feels like the women
- 21:34Speaker 1: do such intangible stuff sometimes and when it comes to
- 21:40Speaker 1: some of the more direct skills or fighting abilities, they
- 21:45Speaker 1: are left out and it can just make me feel frustrated.
- 21:49Speaker 1: But that's fair. So let's say I'm trying to put
- 21:56Speaker 1: because I can't see the animation here, guys, this is
- 21:58Speaker 1: a little bit harder to do than you. I'm trying
- 22:01Speaker 1: to get to the spot because the moment where they
- 22:05Speaker 1: have to convince Wanda to listen to them goes on
- 22:08Speaker 1: a little bit longer than I remembered. Oh right, and
- 22:11Speaker 1: then we come back to the present and Loofy is
- 22:16Speaker 1: just like ready to beat the shit out of some
- 22:19Speaker 1: of the people who were involved in this, and they
- 22:21Speaker 1: have to remind him, like, hey, Bud, you remember how
- 22:24Speaker 1: they said that he's already dead, right And he's like, oh, yeah,
- 22:28Speaker 1: that's annoying. Now I'm not going to get to kill him.
- 22:30Speaker 1: And I was like, Lufy, this is why I love you,
- 22:33Speaker 1: and this is the energy you guys. This is It
- 22:37Speaker 1: may seem sort of weirdly off topic, and maybe it is,
- 22:39Speaker 1: but I'm going to go for telling you about this
- 22:42Speaker 1: just because it's been pretty grim lately. And uh, you know,
- 22:50Speaker 1: this is something that we've been saying for years now,
- 22:54Speaker 1: but it is as of today. It is July eighth,
- 22:58Speaker 1: twenty twenty five. And they just passed the big beautiful
- 23:03Speaker 1: bill last week. And we had the flood in Texas
- 23:09Speaker 1: that killed a bunch of people that maybe could have
- 23:13Speaker 1: been avoided if resources had not been slash the way
- 23:15Speaker 1: that they were in a variety of areas. And there
- 23:20Speaker 1: are just a lot of people who are cheering on
- 23:23Speaker 1: the abduction and separation of families and their children. And
- 23:32Speaker 1: you know, I I don't want to talk out of
- 23:37Speaker 1: my ass about how we need to fight back in
- 23:43Speaker 1: this very abstract way that is extremely safe to do
- 23:47Speaker 1: from my comfy office on my podcast. But I will
- 23:52Speaker 1: say that I am having this growing sense of when
- 23:59Speaker 1: are we really gonna fucking do something, you know? And
- 24:04Speaker 1: maybe I don't know if this is something that will
- 24:06Speaker 1: matter to anybody else, but I am writing a story
- 24:10Speaker 1: that is set in New Bedford, Massachusetts, which, for those
- 24:14Speaker 1: who are not aware, New Bedford was one of the
- 24:18Speaker 1: most racially diverse cities in the United States for its time,
- 24:25Speaker 1: and very very abolitionist and had a lot of organization
- 24:33Speaker 1: built into it to help escape slaves hide and travel
- 24:39Speaker 1: further north to Canada where they would be free or
- 24:44Speaker 1: basically redefine themselves and stay in New Bedford under a
- 24:48Speaker 1: new name and start a business there and behave as
- 24:52Speaker 1: if they were born free, because that was the weird
- 24:55Speaker 1: thing at that time in the US was like different
- 24:57Speaker 1: states had different laws about slaves, and if you were
- 25:01Speaker 1: born in one place versus another, you were born free
- 25:03Speaker 1: or not. And there wasn't great record keeping so and
- 25:08Speaker 1: no photograph, so you could kind of just move somewhere
- 25:12Speaker 1: and then be like, oh, yeah, no, that's that's not me,
- 25:15Speaker 1: I'm so and so and just completely redefine who you were.
- 25:21Speaker 1: And as I'm writing this story, I'm having to do
- 25:25Speaker 1: a lot of different research about the timing of certain things,
- 25:31Speaker 1: and this leads me to learning about specific people and
- 25:35Speaker 1: it has been really encouraging. I guess Florian says they
- 25:44Speaker 1: passed it dot dot dot question mark. Wow, they sure did, Florian,
- 25:49Speaker 1: They sure did. And the thing that worries me the
- 25:52Speaker 1: most about passing that bill is how none of the
- 25:56Speaker 1: Republicans who voted for it, because they were the only one.
- 26:00Speaker 1: No Democrats voted for it, all of them seem really
- 26:06Speaker 1: unconcerned about re election in a way that I find
- 26:11Speaker 1: genuinely chilling, Like why aren't they worried about it? And
- 26:17Speaker 1: the only reason I can think of is that they
- 26:19Speaker 1: don't believe that a reelection is going to be an
- 26:22Speaker 1: issue for whatever reason, which after Miami decided that they
- 26:27Speaker 1: were going to postpone their election for what is it,
- 26:31Speaker 1: mayor for another year without a vote from anybody, So
- 26:37Speaker 1: now everybody gets to stay in office for an extra year.
- 26:41Speaker 1: That just feels like a real harbinger for the ways
- 26:45Speaker 1: in which elections are going to kind of not be
- 26:48Speaker 1: as much of a thing here in the United States,
- 26:50Speaker 1: potentially perhaps maybe so. Anyway, the research that I have
- 26:58Speaker 1: been doing, a lot of the people, the white people
- 27:02Speaker 1: who were involved in abolition work were Quakers. Not all Quakers.
- 27:08Speaker 1: There were plenty of Quakers who owned slaves, but the
- 27:12Speaker 1: ones who were really out here doing shit were often Quakers.
- 27:18Speaker 1: And there is one particular person who was brought to
- 27:22Speaker 1: my attention by Austin Armenia who's aware of this project.
- 27:26Speaker 1: His name is Benjamin Leigh, and he actually was out
- 27:31Speaker 1: here like abducting the children of slave owners and then
- 27:37Speaker 1: being like, yeah, sucks, doesn't it. That's what it's like
- 27:41Speaker 1: when you abduct these people's children and separate them forever.
- 27:45Speaker 1: It's like that, that's exactly what you're doing, which like
- 27:48Speaker 1: that kind of I am going to do something about
- 27:51Speaker 1: it kind of energy. That's what we need. And I
- 27:56Speaker 1: really don't even know exactly how to direct energy like that,
- 28:00Speaker 1: because our problems are so broad and so the system
- 28:07Speaker 1: is so complicated on purpose to make it so that
- 28:11Speaker 1: you can attack multiple parts of it and the rest
- 28:13Speaker 1: of it will still grind away and keep functioning. So anyway,
- 28:17Speaker 1: all this to say, lufy, just immediately being like where
- 28:22Speaker 1: is this man and how do I smash him? Feels
- 28:25Speaker 1: real comforting to me these days, as does looking into
- 28:28Speaker 1: history and seeing how many people were really anti slavery.
- 28:34Speaker 1: And it sucks to know that these people were out
- 28:37Speaker 1: there and slavery continued on for like another one hundred years.
- 28:41Speaker 1: But I also like being reminded of the fact that,
- 28:46Speaker 1: like terrible things can be happening, and that does not
- 28:49Speaker 1: mean that everybody thinks it's fine. And this is something
- 28:52Speaker 1: that I'm clinging to regarding immigration issues in the United
- 28:55Speaker 1: States and how many folks are mobilizing to just kick
- 28:59Speaker 1: Ice of their city. You know, they're creating a barricade
- 29:03Speaker 1: so that they can't come into their neighborhood, or businesses
- 29:07Speaker 1: are ushering people inside because their business is private property
- 29:11Speaker 1: and then telling Ice do you have a warrant? Then
- 29:14Speaker 1: you can't come in here. And it's these little, like
- 29:18Speaker 1: these little pockets of people who are just not necessarily
- 29:22Speaker 1: breaking the system, but they are doing the one thing
- 29:25Speaker 1: that they can do, and I find it really really inspiring.
- 29:31Speaker 1: I really do. Florian Florine. You've got two different icons here.
- 29:39Speaker 1: You got your FS and blue and then the F
- 29:41Speaker 1: and purple. But Florian says, this all reminds me the
- 29:44Speaker 1: book club thing is still on. Have a book suited
- 29:46Speaker 1: for that about Harriet Tubman and would like to hear
- 29:48Speaker 1: your thoughts. It is still on. I posted a Patreon
- 29:52Speaker 1: post asking for people to suggest their books last week.
- 29:56Speaker 1: So the one that's going to be coming up on
- 29:58Speaker 1: Saturday is I'm starting to worry about this Black Box
- 30:01Speaker 1: of Doom, which I'm going to be covering with Sydney Cindy.
- 30:05Speaker 1: I keep calling her Sydney because Ciddy is my other
- 30:08Speaker 1: friend Cindy. I'm going to be covering it with Cindy.
- 30:12Speaker 1: So yeah, I'm going to be making a post for August,
- 30:15Speaker 1: so keep your eye over that anyway, guys. I know
- 30:19Speaker 1: that that felt really off topic, and maybe it is,
- 30:21Speaker 1: but I just thought it was. It has made me
- 30:24Speaker 1: feel sort of encouraged in general, and I hope that
- 30:30Speaker 1: I have been able to pass that on to you
- 30:33Speaker 1: guys as well a little bit, because I think we
- 30:36Speaker 1: could all use as much encouragement these days as we
- 30:40Speaker 1: can get. It's been pretty grim and I think that
- 30:44Speaker 1: a lot of us are feeling like what's the point.
- 30:47Speaker 1: And the thing is about what's the point is that
- 30:50Speaker 1: things do change, if people push enough, but often they
- 30:57Speaker 1: don't change within that person's lifetime, and we do kind
- 31:03Speaker 1: of have to like begin to learn to accept that
- 31:05Speaker 1: might be the way this works out. And you know
- 31:10Speaker 1: in the United States that these changes it's going to
- 31:13Speaker 1: take longer than we would like. So all right, So
- 31:19Speaker 1: then on to seven sixty two, the delinquent comes home
- 31:24Speaker 1: Emperor Big Mom's assassins. So as we are continuing to
- 31:31Speaker 1: get the rest of the story from the other straw Hats,
- 31:35Speaker 1: we are finding out about how the the Big Mom
- 31:41Speaker 1: pirates followed the straw Hats to zoo and they're going
- 31:49Speaker 1: to what is his name? Pea coomes Zoo's his homeland.
- 31:57Speaker 1: I think it's zoo, right, it's a bunch of animals
- 32:01Speaker 1: in a zoo. Is that it is? That the joke?
- 32:04Speaker 1: Oh boy? But anyway, this is his homeland. And so
- 32:09Speaker 1: he feels pretty confident that he can go and deal
- 32:11Speaker 1: with the straw Hats because he knows the terrain and
- 32:14Speaker 1: he knows the people there. And then when he rolls
- 32:21Speaker 1: in the place, as we know, has been reduced to
- 32:27Speaker 1: rubble in a lot of places, and Pickhams is instantly
- 32:35Speaker 1: certain this was the straw Hats and is so angry,
- 32:41Speaker 1: which a part of me wants to laugh at the
- 32:44Speaker 1: fact that he thinks the straw hats managed to do
- 32:47Speaker 1: this much, damaged this quickly, But another part of me
- 32:51Speaker 1: is like, uh, some of them do have a lot
- 32:53Speaker 1: of power. Though I guess, like maybe that's not an
- 32:57Speaker 1: absurd thing to think, but I get in terms of
- 33:01Speaker 1: timing them being the ones that he pursued here and
- 33:05Speaker 1: then finding the place in this state, it does kind
- 33:07Speaker 1: of make sense that he would jump to that conclusion.
- 33:13Speaker 1: And what's his name? The mobster that is with him
- 33:18Speaker 1: is looking around and is like, is this how this
- 33:20Speaker 1: place normally looks? And I'm like, why are you even
- 33:24Speaker 1: asking this question? Do you not see he comes here
- 33:26Speaker 1: just like freaking out, asking, oh my god, what happened here?
- 33:30Speaker 1: Like obviously no, this is not normal for this place,
- 33:35Speaker 1: so oh my god. Sorry, guys, I'm just missing chat stuff.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Saraphim says, it's pronounced zo and it's just the Japanese
- 33:46Speaker 1: word for elephant because Oda and Florencea's reminder, Dress Rosa
- 33:50Speaker 1: was one day and look at that place. Yes, but
- 33:55Speaker 1: but I would argue almost all the significantmage in Dress
- 34:01Speaker 1: Rosa was due to do Flamingo and his crazy power. Nevertheless,
- 34:06Speaker 1: you aren't wrong, but I'm just saying so let's see. Sorry, guys,
- 34:13Speaker 1: I'm just trying to scrub forward here. I really wish
- 34:17Speaker 1: I knew why this wasn't showing me the animation. Oh
- 34:22Speaker 1: my god, I forgot about the thing with fucking sangy.
- 34:26Speaker 1: I don't know. Maybe I'm not so mad that Sanji
- 34:28Speaker 1: winds up separated from the rest of the group. But Sanji,
- 34:34Speaker 1: apparently bro is not particularly bothered at all that these
- 34:43Speaker 1: minks aren't human human and finds anything with tits as
- 34:52Speaker 1: appealing as anything else with tits, whether or not they
- 34:56Speaker 1: are fully human or not, and so he does a
- 35:02Speaker 1: lot of running around and greeting them excitedly while rubbing
- 35:07Speaker 1: up against them and then getting a nosebleed about it,
- 35:12Speaker 1: because that's just how he be. And of course, at
- 35:20Speaker 1: one point the males also want to like snuggle him,
- 35:24Speaker 1: because for them this is not a sexual thing, this greeting.
- 35:27Speaker 1: It is just a nice thing, but he tells them
- 35:31Speaker 1: to fuck off and die, basically because it's women only
- 35:36Speaker 1: and they are all just sort of like, I wonder
- 35:40Speaker 1: why the lower minks always have this like weird thing
- 35:47Speaker 1: about females only, and I was just rolling my eyes
- 35:51Speaker 1: because it's just it's just so gross, that's all it is.
- 35:57Speaker 1: It's just very lucky. I don't like it. And eventually
- 36:02Speaker 1: he linds up going to find Nami and he finds
- 36:06Speaker 1: the room that she has tried on her dress, and
- 36:10Speaker 1: when he walks in and spots her in this outfit,
- 36:14Speaker 1: he utterly loses his shit. And it's a great moment,
- 36:19Speaker 1: you guys, because he gets this expression and you see
- 36:24Speaker 1: him like start to head toward her kind of before
- 36:27Speaker 1: he can stop himself. It's just like this impulse that
- 36:30Speaker 1: he can't control. And as he begins to come at her,
- 36:36Speaker 1: she just lifts up her fist with that kind of
- 36:42Speaker 1: like dead pan expression on her face, and you know
- 36:47Speaker 1: that she decked him. And I honestly lived for it.
- 36:53Speaker 1: I really this is one of my favorite bits with Namy.
- 36:58Speaker 1: You know, I've said before that they never let her fight,
- 37:00Speaker 1: and the exception is she will punch out her crewmates
- 37:04Speaker 1: a lot. Actually, she will deck Sanjie for this kind
- 37:08Speaker 1: of behavior. If Loofy and oos Up, those are the
- 37:13Speaker 1: most frequent ones I think start to act like idiots,
- 37:16Speaker 1: she will beat the fuck out of them and leave
- 37:18Speaker 1: them on the ground. So I shouldn't say she never
- 37:22Speaker 1: gets to fight. It's just very different, very different. But
- 37:28Speaker 1: the way that anytime it is somebody who has like
- 37:36Speaker 1: not really stopped to consider who they're about to deal with,
- 37:41Speaker 1: that they haven't nami all. It's not even really a
- 37:45Speaker 1: smile on her face. It's just more that she like
- 37:51Speaker 1: is there's no real change of expression, and you just
- 37:55Speaker 1: see her fist appear next to her face. The joke
- 38:00Speaker 1: of her just being ready to fight at any second
- 38:03Speaker 1: and this person being really unconscious as they head for her,
- 38:07Speaker 1: that she is about to ruin your fucking day. You
- 38:11Speaker 1: are walking away with a broken nose? Do you not
- 38:14Speaker 1: see the way that she's acting right now? Like where
- 38:17Speaker 1: where's your head? I don't get tired of this. I
- 38:22Speaker 1: really like it's it's I think because I have a
- 38:26Speaker 1: similar reaction as she does sometimes where I am just
- 38:30Speaker 1: like are you are you serious? Are you fucking for real?
- 38:34Speaker 1: Right now? Like that is the vibe whenever she gets
- 38:39Speaker 1: that sort of look on her face is like, okay,
- 38:43Speaker 1: you know what, I've been nice and I'm done, you know,
- 38:48Speaker 1: like that sort of punched you with a smile. I
- 38:53Speaker 1: can't help but respect it and also find it very
- 38:57Speaker 1: very funny. So anyway, sorry, guys, I'm running around here.
- 39:04Speaker 1: There's also a point where this woman comes to get
- 39:07Speaker 1: the medicine from Caesar clown and she calls him like
- 39:12Speaker 1: doctor Caesar or something. She calls him by something that
- 39:16Speaker 1: it makes him very sad that apparently he can't hit
- 39:19Speaker 1: on her because she is a super sexy sort of
- 39:23Speaker 1: cheetah woman, and so he is extremely horny for her.
- 39:28Speaker 1: And it's just there's a lot of horniness. There's a
- 39:31Speaker 1: lot of it throughout this so and Brooke meanwhile is
- 39:38Speaker 1: having to run away from all of the animals. Anytime
- 39:42Speaker 1: you see one of them that's talking about Brook but
- 39:45Speaker 1: has very red, glowy eyes, it's clearly this is an
- 39:52Speaker 1: animal that wants to chew on him excessively. And I
- 39:57Speaker 1: can't help but laugh now because like the past few day, guys,
- 40:04Speaker 1: brief aside, I have two dogs, and if you have
- 40:10Speaker 1: dogs that chew a lot, which not all do, Pippin
- 40:14Speaker 1: is not a big chewer at all. Our Win, however,
- 40:18Speaker 1: is a pitbull and she is super chewy and getting
- 40:24Speaker 1: stuff that she will chew but can't totally destroy. In
- 40:28Speaker 1: one sitting is next to impossible. You can get them
- 40:32Speaker 1: all kinds of stuff that will hold their attention for
- 40:36Speaker 1: a little while, but the stuff that really holds their
- 40:39Speaker 1: attention is usually perishable like yak cheese chews or bully
- 40:44Speaker 1: sticks things like that that do wear down and disappear
- 40:49Speaker 1: after a time. But I've recently found there were some
- 40:53Speaker 1: bones that I would get sometimes from Walmart and they
- 40:56Speaker 1: would break into these pointy, dangerous shards and stop getting them.
- 41:01Speaker 1: And I found some at PetSmart that don't break apart
- 41:04Speaker 1: like that. And it is the first time I have
- 41:08Speaker 1: ever really watched a literal dog with a bone. And
- 41:13Speaker 1: it's a big bone, guys. I'm talking like at least
- 41:16Speaker 1: fourteen inches long and like six inches wide at the ends.
- 41:20Speaker 1: Like it's massive. And she holds in her two paws
- 41:24Speaker 1: and goes fucking nuts on these things. And she manages
- 41:28Speaker 1: to pull apart bits of sinew and like connective tissue
- 41:32Speaker 1: that you can't even see on them until it starts
- 41:35Speaker 1: to get wet from their saliva and stuff. It is
- 41:38Speaker 1: kind of grizzly. It's actually awful like, and also there's
- 41:43Speaker 1: a smell with it. She loves it. I'm so glad
- 41:46Speaker 1: to have found this thing. The bones last for days.
- 41:48Speaker 1: It's great, but also it's so there's something about it
- 41:54Speaker 1: that is so like primitive feeling, you know. And so
- 41:59Speaker 1: now with this plot point of these animals wanting to
- 42:03Speaker 1: chew Brook's bones, I can't help but like have like
- 42:07Speaker 1: a more visceral reaction to it than I did before,
- 42:10Speaker 1: because it's really something. It really is something, guys and
- 42:16Speaker 1: I the power of her chewing and the marks that
- 42:21Speaker 1: she leaves in him. I'm surprised there hasn't been more
- 42:24Speaker 1: of an ongoing joke about Brooke having teeth marks in
- 42:30Speaker 1: him and stuff. We've definitely had jokes about his clothes
- 42:34Speaker 1: being tattered and whatnot. And maybe it's just that he's
- 42:38Speaker 1: immediately getting milk and that heals his bones right up.
- 42:41Speaker 1: But having seen firsthand the damage that a pipule's jaws
- 42:44Speaker 1: can do, yikes, you know what I'm saying. Sorry, let's see.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Florence says, Hey, you wondered if Sonji would be interested,
- 42:56Speaker 1: like two podcasts go asking you shall receive. I forgot
- 43:00Speaker 1: that I even asked the question, Flori, And now it
- 43:02Speaker 1: seems so silly, like, of course he would. I kind
- 43:05Speaker 1: I think that I made the comparison between them and
- 43:08Speaker 1: Mermaids and how he was super into Mermaids, so probably
- 43:11Speaker 1: he would be. But yeah, you're right. I forgot that.
- 43:14Speaker 1: I even asked. Sarah Fan says, Look, there's ample proof
- 43:17Speaker 1: that being part animal is not going to deter a
- 43:19Speaker 1: sizable sample of people, and for many is going to
- 43:22Speaker 1: be a bonus one hundred percent. I've thrown no shade
- 43:27Speaker 1: on furries. It's not my particular thing, but I also
- 43:32Speaker 1: can see why it wouldn't deter you, you know, like
- 43:35Speaker 1: fucking whatever. It makes me think of that uh hashtag
- 43:39Speaker 1: jokes on you I fuck monsters on Tumblr, which I
- 43:44Speaker 1: do think is very funny. But yeah, so I uh,
- 43:50Speaker 1: this this whole thing with poor Brooke, knowing that they're
- 43:54Speaker 1: not just trying to be affectionate with him like they
- 43:57Speaker 1: were with Soanjy. They just want to be chewing on
- 44:01Speaker 1: his bones. I felt a little sad for him because
- 44:05Speaker 1: there's a part of me that's like, oh, Brooke just
- 44:07Speaker 1: really wants to make friends. He just really wants to
- 44:11Speaker 1: be appreciated, and he's not getting that. So jumping ahead
- 44:17Speaker 1: a little bit, Pecams, I hope I'm saying that right.
- 44:22Speaker 1: He is trying to find anybody who is still around,
- 44:27Speaker 1: and he eventually runs across the two guards, the Lion
- 44:32Speaker 1: and the goat man, who are outside the gates guarding
- 44:41Speaker 1: the place, and he I was so relieved, y'all that
- 44:46Speaker 1: this doesn't continue on the way it does, because the
- 44:50Speaker 1: episode did one of those things where it has the uh,
- 44:57Speaker 1: what's the wording I want here? You know that interstitial
- 45:03Speaker 1: that the episodes have where it's like somebody's theme music
- 45:06Speaker 1: and they're like portrait comes spinning down. That was clearly
- 45:09Speaker 1: the start of a commercial break. It does that kind
- 45:14Speaker 1: of right after the scene begins, and I the way
- 45:24Speaker 1: that it starts off, Oh okay, short eat like Peck
- 45:27Speaker 1: says Sarah FM. I was certain that we were going
- 45:35Speaker 1: to get this thing where he's demanding tell me the truth.
- 45:40Speaker 1: It was the straw Hats that did this, and one
- 45:44Speaker 1: of them is like, hey, calm down, and he's like,
- 45:46Speaker 1: I knew it. And I was instantly just, ugh, you
- 45:50Speaker 1: knew it because this man said calm down. You take
- 45:53Speaker 1: that as a confirmation of what you just said. And
- 45:57Speaker 1: then it goes to the interstitial, and I was like,
- 46:00Speaker 1: oh boy, are we about to have a whole thing
- 46:02Speaker 1: where all it would have taken is one person going, no,
- 46:06Speaker 1: they saved us, which literally took me about one and
- 46:11Speaker 1: a half seconds to get out. And then I have
- 46:15Speaker 1: to watch this like fucking misunderstanding continue to unfold. Is
- 46:19Speaker 1: that gonna be the way that it is? And thankfully,
- 46:24Speaker 1: right after the interstitial we come back and he's like,
- 46:28Speaker 1: it's not them. They're the ones who made sure that
- 46:31Speaker 1: we are safe and recovered from the gas and have
- 46:36Speaker 1: food to eat. You know, Like when we come back,
- 46:39Speaker 1: there is a moment where he's just yelling, I'll tear
- 46:42Speaker 1: them apart. Where are they all? Make them pay for this?
- 46:45Speaker 1: And then listen, everyone's alive and well they're in the
- 46:49Speaker 1: fortress and we have the straw Hat Pirates to thank
- 46:52Speaker 1: for that. And Pekins is like, wait, what which I
- 46:59Speaker 1: was sort of hoping Peckhams would Well, I guess what
- 47:06Speaker 1: I was sort of hoping for was that he would
- 47:07Speaker 1: do exactly what it is that he does later, but
- 47:10Speaker 1: that you know, he wouldn't wind up getting shot for it,
- 47:13Speaker 1: which is what winds up happening. I was so sad, y'all.
- 47:18Speaker 1: I was genuinely like it was a moment of uh shit,
- 47:25Speaker 1: because there's only two of them, So I didn't think
- 47:32Speaker 1: what was his name, Capone, because it's just the two
- 47:38Speaker 1: of them. I guess I just didn't think that Capone
- 47:40Speaker 1: was going to turn on Peckham's because then he would
- 47:44Speaker 1: be all alone on this island, so to speak, surrounded
- 47:50Speaker 1: by enemies. But I guess what he is thinking here
- 47:55Speaker 1: is that, well, it's basically just me versus says Sanji,
- 48:01Speaker 1: and who's with Sanji? Here? There's one other trying to
- 48:04Speaker 1: get to that scene where they confront Sorry, guys, with
- 48:11Speaker 1: that being able to see the animation, this is fucking
- 48:13Speaker 1: me up a little bit because even some of the
- 48:18Speaker 1: the thumbnails they don't like. As I'm scrubbing through, it
- 48:23Speaker 1: doesn't go frame by frame, so it's skipping over parts
- 48:28Speaker 1: as I scrub through it, and I'm unable to like
- 48:30Speaker 1: really get a good look. Ah uh, I'm sorry, guys.
- 48:38Speaker 1: Oh it's is it Caesar that's with Sanji? Later he's
- 48:42Speaker 1: the one, Oh Brook is with him? Okay, So Brooke
- 48:46Speaker 1: was able to get away and came back, but Sonjy didn't. Okay,
- 48:52Speaker 1: so let's see. I'm trying. Oh yeah, peck I'm getting
- 48:59Speaker 1: reunited with some people, and one of them says that
- 49:02Speaker 1: kid was a trouble maker when he was growing up,
- 49:05Speaker 1: which I did think that was really funny that this dude,
- 49:10Speaker 1: you know, who's with the Big Mom's pirates and is
- 49:13Speaker 1: really like causing trouble out here, had a bad reputation
- 49:18Speaker 1: to begin with among his own people, which totally makes sense.
- 49:23Speaker 1: And let's say I'm trying to find the spot where
- 49:26Speaker 1: he's saying like, oh yeah, Soanji says, when did we
- 49:30Speaker 1: become bros? What the hell did you piss off? But
- 49:34Speaker 1: how did you piss off Big Mom? And Caesar says, look,
- 49:37Speaker 1: just hear me out. I accepted a grant for research
- 49:40Speaker 1: and I haven't quite gotten anyone wherewith it yet, so
- 49:44Speaker 1: I lied and pocketed all the money. Can you blame me? Do?
- 49:47Speaker 1: Flamingo had my back, so I might have gotten a
- 49:50Speaker 1: little bit carried away. And Sanji says, it's worth like
- 49:56Speaker 1: it sounds like you earned this. If they're looking for you,
- 49:59Speaker 1: then maybe this is no big deal, which I have
- 50:02Speaker 1: to agree. You know, Caesar's just behaving like you owe
- 50:06Speaker 1: me back, like keeping me from getting captured. And I'm
- 50:10Speaker 1: just like Caesar, you had to be beaten up and
- 50:14Speaker 1: threatened into helping these people, like why do you think?
- 50:18Speaker 1: Are you serious? Caesar is just very very who he is.
- 50:26Speaker 1: Let's see, I'm trying to find the spots here because
- 50:28Speaker 1: there's also a conversation. I can't remember who is saying
- 50:34Speaker 1: this about making Fishman Island my territory because Lufi is
- 50:40Speaker 1: on like a call, and I think it's Big Mom
- 50:43Speaker 1: that he's talking to. And it's a flashback too, because
- 50:48Speaker 1: Sandre says something about Loufy picking a fight with them,
- 50:52Speaker 1: so that is way way back, and it's a Big
- 50:56Speaker 1: Mom talking about making Fishman Island her terror. Oh my god,
- 51:04Speaker 1: I keep forgetting too. Brooke makes these jokes throughout all
- 51:07Speaker 1: of this about like keep both eyes on me, even
- 51:10Speaker 1: though I don't have any eyes, Like he's trying to
- 51:13Speaker 1: distract this little kid when Chopper is going to give
- 51:15Speaker 1: him an injection, and here says something like, oh, in
- 51:22Speaker 1: that case, we'd all be dead or double dead in
- 51:24Speaker 1: my case. And I am just waiting for the day
- 51:28Speaker 1: when these jokes start to get old for me, and
- 51:30Speaker 1: it still hasn't happened. It's not happening ever. I don't think.
- 51:34Speaker 1: I just always love it. So let's see. There may
- 51:41Speaker 1: be from Big Mom pirates, but there's only two of
- 51:43Speaker 1: them between you and me. We can surely handle a
- 51:45Speaker 1: couple of piddly little whimps like them. I'll just pump
- 51:49Speaker 1: a little poison gas into the air. And the expression
- 51:57Speaker 1: on his face again, he just is so excited the
- 52:00Speaker 1: idea of being able to use this poison gas. Caesar,
- 52:04Speaker 1: you're a real sick Oh you know that, I like,
- 52:07Speaker 1: come on, which it's not a terrible plan, frankly, so
- 52:15Speaker 1: let's see. I'm so sorry, guys. There's a few moments
- 52:21Speaker 1: here where I don't know who's talking, but I think
- 52:25Speaker 1: Caesar says something to Sonji about are you considering my
- 52:29Speaker 1: brilliant assassination proposal? And it's Sonji who replies to him,
- 52:33Speaker 1: I'm not accepting suggestions from jackasses or dumb asses. Which
- 52:42Speaker 1: there are times where Zoro and Sanji both can be
- 52:48Speaker 1: a little bit too cranky, and I'm like, hey, guys,
- 52:54Speaker 1: want don't you chill out a little bit? And then
- 52:56Speaker 1: there's times like this where the person they are doing
- 52:59Speaker 1: it deserves it, every bit of it, and it feeds
- 53:03Speaker 1: my soul. And that's one hundred percent how I am
- 53:06Speaker 1: feeling right now. Now. Don't get me wrong, I really
- 53:11Speaker 1: enjoy having Caesar Klan around due to this fact. But
- 53:16Speaker 1: I'm just saying that how Sanji has absolutely no time
- 53:20Speaker 1: for him is extremely amusing. So let's see trying to
- 53:28Speaker 1: get this part where because Lufi is like trying to
- 53:31Speaker 1: get uh, Let's see what he did was admirable. He
- 53:37Speaker 1: led the two of them away from the fortress and
- 53:40Speaker 1: into a forest, and we get the confrontation between the
- 53:46Speaker 1: two of them, and I say confrontation it really isn't
- 53:49Speaker 1: because they're expecting something terrible. But Peckhams is like, I
- 53:53Speaker 1: just wanted to thank you, and he started sobbing crying,
- 53:57Speaker 1: and Sanji's like, what are you talking about? And he's like,
- 54:02Speaker 1: I never thought when I came back the place was
- 54:05Speaker 1: going to be in the state that it is. And
- 54:08Speaker 1: I thought when I first saw it all that like
- 54:10Speaker 1: everybody was going to be dead, and it turns out
- 54:13Speaker 1: they're alive because you helped them. How can I ever
- 54:18Speaker 1: repay you? And he literally like falls to his knees
- 54:22Speaker 1: in front of Soanji crying and just like, you know,
- 54:30Speaker 1: what's the word? I want? Abject? And let's see. Sonji's like,
- 54:39Speaker 1: let's see, oh right here it is. The mission is
- 54:43Speaker 1: a failure. Just hand over Caesar. I'll explain to Mama
- 54:46Speaker 1: that we let the straw hats get away this time, okay,
- 54:50Speaker 1: And what's his name? Capone says, you got to choke
- 54:55Speaker 1: those feelings down if you know what's good for you,
- 54:58Speaker 1: and he says, shut up, let me do this. You
- 55:02Speaker 1: don't understand the position I'm in. I have to help
- 55:06Speaker 1: the people who helped my friends and family, Like you know,
- 55:10Speaker 1: he feels this obligation to them, which I think he should.
- 55:14Speaker 1: And Capone calls him a yellow bellied rat and then
- 55:20Speaker 1: basically lets the choppa sing and opens fire and empties
- 55:28Speaker 1: what would you call that a drum? You know, those
- 55:33Speaker 1: those big fucking gatling guns of ammunition into Peckham's, who
- 55:40Speaker 1: I am really not sure is actually dead. Because of
- 55:45Speaker 1: the way this show works, it can be sort of
- 55:49Speaker 1: unpredictable sometimes, Like I would say that somebody like Peckham's
- 55:54Speaker 1: is disposable and we could have him be killed and
- 55:56Speaker 1: it would be nothing. And also he was shot seventy
- 56:00Speaker 1: eight times, so he should be dead. But also maybe
- 56:05Speaker 1: the show wants to, like let the crew have an
- 56:09Speaker 1: advantage by somebody who's a turncoat and can feed them
- 56:15Speaker 1: information about Big Mom's crew and is thought to be
- 56:21Speaker 1: dead by Capone, and so is left behind. I don't know,
- 56:27Speaker 1: so let's see Sera frumcis yet the end of Fishman
- 56:31Speaker 1: Island LFE cause of Big Oh yeah yeah, Florence says, So,
- 56:34Speaker 1: what do you think how did Capone take Sonjy or
- 56:38Speaker 1: did he I think that Capone is wearing a double
- 56:45Speaker 1: breasted suit that Soanji really likes, and he asks for
- 56:50Speaker 1: his tailor and Capone is like, oh yeah, sure, I'll
- 56:53Speaker 1: show you right where I got it, Come with me,
- 56:56Speaker 1: and then jazz music begins to play on a saxophone.
- 57:03Speaker 1: I think that's probably what happened. Sorry, guys, It's just
- 57:09Speaker 1: funny because, like with the fact that he has those suits, Sanji,
- 57:14Speaker 1: and that he smokes and the music that plays, I
- 57:17Speaker 1: always kind of forget that he's meant to be sort
- 57:20Speaker 1: of like like kind of a sophisticated vibe and a
- 57:27Speaker 1: city vibe because of that, you know, and every now
- 57:31Speaker 1: and then the interstitials it'll be his music and his
- 57:35Speaker 1: picture and that serves as more of a reminder than anything.
- 57:41Speaker 1: Florence says, Wow, you got it. Skipped to episode nine
- 57:44Speaker 1: fifty six. I don't know what Capone's ability is. I
- 57:51Speaker 1: know we've been shown it, but I don't remember. I
- 57:58Speaker 1: genuinely don't know. Oh if like because Brooke is here,
- 58:05Speaker 1: So what did Brooke do in this moment? You know?
- 58:09Speaker 1: Why did he escape? Leave Sangy? And I don't know.
- 58:16Speaker 1: There's just like there's a lot about the whole setup
- 58:19Speaker 1: here and the way that it goes that I don't
- 58:23Speaker 1: understand how he could have gotten Florian says. There was
- 58:30Speaker 1: also the talk of a letter. I don't remember that part.
- 58:36Speaker 1: I'm gonna be honest with you. I don't know how
- 58:40Speaker 1: I miss that actually because I had two dogs that
- 58:43Speaker 1: both wanted pets this episode or these two episodes, so
- 58:46Speaker 1: I was very focused on the show because I didn't
- 58:49Speaker 1: have free hand for my phone, So I don't remember.
- 58:54Speaker 1: They'll talk of a letter, I believe you, but it didn't.
- 58:58Speaker 1: I don't remember it. Who's talking about it? Was it
- 59:03Speaker 1: when they were riding on the crocodile? Wow? Yeah, don't remember.
- 59:09Speaker 1: Maybe it's a call for help or something, or I'm
- 59:14Speaker 1: trying to think what could be if somebody wanted help
- 59:19Speaker 1: from Sanji, that could be it. Maybe it was a
- 59:24Speaker 1: letter with the address to a tailor. It could also
- 59:28Speaker 1: have been the letter, like the address to a local
- 59:34Speaker 1: grocery store. I'm just trying to think, like what and
- 59:40Speaker 1: capones roll in all of this, like how what would
- 59:43Speaker 1: even happen? Like, I don't know, I don't have any guesses.
- 59:47Speaker 1: I'm afraid I have nothing here, so apologies, but yeah,
- 59:52Speaker 1: that is how the episode ends. I'm just so frustrated
- 59:55Speaker 1: that I can't see it. I don't know what happened
- 59:59Speaker 1: to crunchy roll guys. It's very annoying. Eugh. Okay, so
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: I'm gonna wrap this one up, but thank you very
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: much Florian for commissioning this one. Florian says, I like
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: this a lot. I aim to please. Sarah Fim says
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: it was an invitation to a mixed gender topless cook off.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: Sangi's one weakness that would be so amazing. I could
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: just see if we did like a fast forward to
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: where everybody is, like, you know, thirty years from now,
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: the one piece has been found. We've all moved on
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: to bigger things, and by bigger, I mean really much
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: much smaller things. Sanji being the cook at a very
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: high end strip club would be perfect, except it wouldn't
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: be because he'd never get any work done. But I
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: think that the way they'd play it is they have
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: to lock the kit so that he can't get out
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: until he's finished making the meal, and then as a reward,
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: he's allowed to come out into the club part and
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: see the girls. But yeah, anyway, okay, I gotta wrap up,
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: but thank you guys again, and thank you everybody for listening.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: Until next time to the lou motherfuckers. That was an
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: Unspoiled Network podcast.
