- 0:03S1: Bluetooth device is connected successfully.
- 0:07S2: Jay and dunk.
- 0:09S3: The long drive.
- 0:10S4: Here we go. One after three. Jay dunk driving you home.
- 0:14S4: This is our Friday. We're taking an extra long weekend.
- 0:16S4: Good to have you tuned in this afternoon. Um, massive
- 0:20S4: thanks to show sponsors Novus Glass. You're supporting the Greener Tomorrow. Uh,
- 0:23S4: if you want to do that, go to chip or
- 0:25S4: crack in your windscreen. Need some new window wipers? Uh,
- 0:27S4: go and call in to your local branch. If you
- 0:29S4: are claiming insurance, they'll sort that out. Yeah. They're awesome. Just.
- 0:32S4: You just turn up and get the job done.
- 0:34S5: Use it a couple of times. Actually, if you're interested
- 0:36S5: in getting your hands on a year's supply of heartland
- 0:38S5: chips and a chance to see system of a down, um,
- 0:41S5: and Faith No more and Wellington got those opportunities for
- 0:44S5: you on the show today.
- 0:45S4: Uh, and next, we want to know you can get
- 0:47S4: in early for this one might chuck up a prize
- 0:49S4: to this out of the rock drive prize cabin. Um,
- 0:51S4: when have you tried to be hilarious and instead make
- 0:53S4: an absolute prick of yourself? Uh, we've got a bloke
- 0:57S4: who attempted to scare his wife, and it went so wrong. Brad,
- 1:02S4: the boss had one of these moments yesterday.
- 1:04S5: Let's get him in.
- 1:06S4: Bring that up on the show at some point to.
- 1:09S6: Get that link in the show notes.
- 1:11S4: Looking for the sneaky smoko?
- 1:13S6: Cheers to Heartland chips. Extreme crunch experience. More crunch than
- 1:17S6: a learner driver and a manual.
- 1:19S4: Nothing more enjoyable than watching someone trying to get a
- 1:21S4: sneeze and then watching them lose it.
- 1:23S5: I chased it around the room. I looked straight into
- 1:25S5: the dust blower as well, which is known as our
- 1:27S5: air conditioning unit, which just absolutely hammers us.
- 1:29S4: The dust.
- 1:30S5: Blower. Yeah, we're basically hammers.
- 1:32S4: We sneeze every afternoon here. It's like the canary down
- 1:35S4: the coal mine. I got the black lung pop.
- 1:37S5: Yeah. It's just parked up in Legionnaire's Alley.
- 1:42S4: Yeah. It's not the compost you need to be worried
- 1:44S4: about this spring. Yeah, it's that bloody thing behind us. Um. So.
- 1:48S4: Years supply. Heartland chips as per. Got to give that
- 1:50S4: away tomorrow afternoon with Lee filling in for us. If
- 1:53S4: you're keen on it you can tick smoko. Send it
- 1:55S4: off to 3520. Now I want to run you this one.
- 1:58S4: Now this is the funny, funny, not funny thing. When
- 2:01S4: have you tried to be funny, but then it's just
- 2:03S4: fallen absolutely flat. So this bloke here is getting lots
- 2:06S4: of attention online, so he's decided that to be funny.
- 2:10S4: He will hide in the fridge in the garage for
- 2:13S4: when his missus comes home. And so the idea is
- 2:17S4: she pulls up, she's walking past the front of the
- 2:20S4: car and he goes, ha! But what actually ends up
- 2:23S4: happening is she ends up parking way too close to
- 2:27S4: the fridge.
- 2:29S7: I was trying to be outrageous and I thought, I'll
- 2:31S7: hide in the fridge, right? I'll hide in the garage fridge,
- 2:34S7: and when my wife gets home, I'll pop out of it.
- 2:36S7: When she goes for a little busy ball and I go, sucka,
- 2:39S7: you want one of those after brunch? And we would laugh,
- 2:44S7: but I didn't think maybe she would just hop in
- 2:47S7: the other car. She'd swap cars, just park this one
- 2:50S7: just a little bit too close to the fridge, just
- 2:54S7: a little bit too close. And now she's not answering
- 2:57S7: her phone so I can show you, to my delight,
- 3:01S7: as I try to pop out. Would I run into.
- 3:05S7: It's also really hot. I have this open. It's a
- 3:08S7: warm day, so I have to keep it kind of closed.
- 3:11S7: No dark. But then the cooling kicks in. But then
- 3:13S7: I also don't want to run out of air. So
- 3:16S7: it's like a back and forth situation. And I know
- 3:19S7: you're probably thinking, Nick, that's a Tesla. Move it from
- 3:22S7: your phone. I don't have a way of opening the
- 3:24S7: garage door. I'm not ruining my garage door. I wish
- 3:29S7: I had friends in the neighbor. Oh, God damn it.
- 3:34S7: I need to make friends in the neighborhood.
- 3:35S5: There it is. It was so funny. Till it wasn't funny.
- 3:40S4: The best bit about it is the caption was just 25% battery.
- 3:49S4: So funny for us. But he's tried to do the
- 3:52S4: prank and it's fallen flat on his backside. Luckily for him,
- 3:55S4: everyone else getting a bit of joy out of it
- 3:56S4: but for the most part fell flat on its backside. Funny, funny.
- 4:00S4: Not funny.
- 4:00S5: This one's already coming on the text machine. Uh, I
- 4:03S5: was in a job interview. In the interview asked me
- 4:05S5: what my biggest weakness was. I said, probably answering stupid
- 4:08S5: questions like that. Neither the interviewer or the boss or
- 4:14S5: prospective boss laughed. Turns out I didn't get the job.
- 4:17S4: Geez. That's good.
- 4:18S6: Ooh. All the best bits from the rock drive with
- 4:21S6: Jay and Dunk, you beauty. Listen live on our App Rover,
- 4:24S6: 3 to 7 p.m. New Zealand time, Monday to Friday.
- 4:27S3: Oh.
- 4:28S8: Give me the best bits.
- 4:29S4: Funny, funny. Not funny. Uh, when have you tried to
- 4:32S4: be funny? And it hasn't been funny at all. Brad
- 4:35S4: the boss yesterday. Yeah, I got offside with our new
- 4:38S4: owner of this big company, didn't he? He was trying
- 4:41S4: to explain the difference between Rock drive and the not
- 4:43S4: for Radio podcast. And he said some things about the
- 4:46S4: not Radio podcast that weren't true. No, but pricked up
- 4:49S4: the ears of this very, uh, high up slash, just
- 4:54S4: basically the biggest dog of all the dogs in our company. Yeah.
- 4:57S4: And he was like, you're kidding me. And I was like, well,
- 5:00S4: thanks for ending our podcast.
- 5:01S5: Yeah, it is.
- 5:02S4: Going great until you lied about.
- 5:03S5: Us. If you want to get the last episodes now
- 5:06S5: in FR3520, they're going to become collector's editions. They're going
- 5:09S5: to become like oddbods cards and Pokemon.
- 5:13S4: Funny, funny, not funny. Um, this one here from Matt
- 5:15S4: and Hamilton fellas nearly got dumped over this, took the
- 5:18S4: missus out for dinner for our five year anniversary. Had
- 5:21S4: no intention of proposing, but halfway through dessert, I thought
- 5:23S4: it'd be hilarious to get down on one knee, pretend
- 5:26S4: to tie my shoelace. She starts crying. The entire restaurant
- 5:30S4: goes quiet, and some bloke at the next table starts filming.
- 5:33S4: I look up and go, nah, I'm just doing my laces, babe.
- 5:36S4: She didn't say a single word for the rest of
- 5:38S4: the dinner. I had to drive 40 minutes home in
- 5:39S4: complete silence. That was eight months ago and she still
- 5:41S4: brings it up. Every time we go out.
- 5:43S5: Is a rookie mistake. Um. I went on a date
- 5:47S5: with a chick that I met on Tinder. Uh, she
- 5:49S5: told me that she is a vet. I said, well,
- 5:51S5: you look too young to have been in Vietnam. I'm
- 5:53S5: guessing Afghanistan. Turns out she had lost family members in both.
- 5:58S4: Oh. What are the chances? Idiot. Tough crowd. Funny. Funny.
- 6:05S4: Not funny. That's from Ben in Christchurch. Uh, worked at
- 6:08S4: a building supply yard. Thought it'd be funny to see
- 6:10S4: the boss resignation email saying I'd been offered a job
- 6:12S4: in Australia for double the money. Even made up a
- 6:15S4: company name and said I was finishing that Friday. Boss
- 6:17S4: replied saying he's disappointed but wished me all the best.
- 6:20S4: Then HR sent my final pay paperwork and they advertised
- 6:23S4: my job online. I had to go into his office
- 6:26S4: and explain that I was taking the piss. He just
- 6:28S4: stared at me for about 20s and he goes, wow,
- 6:32S4: you've certainly made this awkward. Never tried another workplace prank. Done.
- 6:37S4: One and done.
- 6:38S5: Oh, this, uh, Benny, a very good friend of the show. Uh,
- 6:43S5: in construction. We did some work at a zoo where
- 6:46S5: we've got a labourer type bloke who was trying to get.
- 6:49S5: I was trying to get a hold of. I didn't
- 6:50S5: know where he was. I rang him up and he said, oh,
- 6:53S5: I'm at the zoo. I said, oh yeah, the there
- 6:55S5: visiting your family? Are you? You know, it's a classic
- 6:58S5: joke that everyone uses. Anyway, wrapped up the conversation with
- 7:00S5: say hi to your mum for me. Turns out his
- 7:02S5: mum had passed away a month earlier. Not all jokes
- 7:05S5: at the mark.
- 7:06S4: Hey, you got to swing. If you don't swing, you're
- 7:08S4: gonna hit no sixes.
- 7:10S5: Yeah. The wedding speech one is another belter. This one
- 7:12S5: here from Chris and Nelson. Best man at my brother's wedding.
- 7:15S5: Open up with. Welcome back, everyone. Here's hoping it lasts
- 7:17S5: longer than the last one he was in.
- 7:19S4: Oh.
- 7:21S5: It's just not a place. Like, just be nice.
- 7:25S4: Be lovely.
- 7:26S5: Yeah, it's it is meant to be the most beautiful day.
- 7:28S4: Save it for the comedy club a hole.
- 7:30S5: Yeah, yeah.
- 7:31S4: Um. Funny, funny. Not funny. This damn. And Taranaki. My
- 7:34S4: mate bought himself a brand new ute, so I thought
- 7:36S4: it'd be hilarious to stick one of those massive fake
- 7:39S4: parking infringement notices under his wiper. Made it look like
- 7:41S4: he'd been fined 400 bucks for parking on the footpath.
- 7:44S4: He completely lost his mind, started reverse down the driveway
- 7:46S4: to go argue with the council, backed straight into a
- 7:48S4: concrete letterbox because he's too busy reading. The notice. Smashed
- 7:52S4: his tail light, Dean did the tailgate cost him about
- 7:55S4: 1800 bucks, which I ended up paying half of because
- 7:58S4: technically it was my bloody fault. I don't know if
- 8:01S4: he's forgiven me, but I paid half, so I figure
- 8:03S4: we're square.
- 8:04S5: This one here from Luke is the one I'll finish on.
- 8:06S5: Check out. Chick asked me if I wanted a bag.
- 8:08S5: I said, nah, I'm gonna juggle everything to the car.
- 8:10S5: I dropped a jar of pasta sauce, smashed everywhere, shut
- 8:14S5: down three lanes of the chick. What an.
- 8:18S4: Idiot.
- 8:19S5: What an idiot.
- 8:21S4: Buddy, buddy, buddy.
- 8:23S6: Thanks for listening. Big whoop.
- 8:24S4: Uh, I got no idea what the riots in Paris
- 8:27S4: are about. And so I've got J to chuck together
- 8:29S4: a wee 62nd, uh, explaining what the deal is over there.
- 8:32S4: Because what were you saying? $2.3 billion worth of damage.
- 8:35S5: Yeah. Kiwi. Uh, which is €78. Um, basically it kind
- 8:40S5: of was a throwback to back in 2023 where, um,
- 8:43S5: riot police blew the 17 year old kids hand off
- 8:46S5: with a tear gas gun launcher. Like, literally blew it
- 8:49S5: off his hand. I blew it off his arm. Uh,
- 8:50S5: and then it just sort of kicked back off. It
- 8:54S5: was students protesting against overcrowded classrooms and the poorer north
- 8:59S5: region of Paris. Mhm. Teacher shortages and their schools literally
- 9:03S5: falling to bits. Um, like drink fountains not working. Chairs
- 9:07S5: being broken. Half the students sitting on the floor like
- 9:09S5: it was real. It's.
- 9:10S4: How do you expect kids to turn up to an
- 9:12S4: environment like that?
- 9:13S5: So 13 to 18 year olds barricaded their schools wouldn't
- 9:16S5: let anybody in. Um, and so basically that was the
- 9:19S5: beginning of the protest. It was all pretty, you know, organized,
- 9:24S5: slick and a decent cry for help from kids that
- 9:27S5: just want a decent crack at it. Um, trade unions, teachers,
- 9:31S5: farmers and the famous yellow vest movement all joined in.
- 9:34S5: So this is the famous yellow vest. These are all
- 9:36S5: the the hivers phallus and phallus. They climbed into it.
- 9:40S5: So 550,000 people ended up taking to the streets over
- 9:45S5: soaring living costs, low wages and government spending cuts on
- 9:49S5: things like education.
- 9:50S4: So everyone's just climbing into the one protest.
- 9:52S5: Yeah. And so that just got the kids saying, can
- 9:55S5: you just give us a fair crack at this? And
- 9:57S5: education got overrun by all of this other stuff. Um,
- 10:00S5: and then violent clashes erupted between police and they just
- 10:04S5: went bananas. Heaps of heaps of police got injured. But
- 10:07S5: there's all this footage of these agent provocateurs throwing grenades
- 10:11S5: into places.
- 10:12S4: Agent.
- 10:13S5: Agent of provocateurs. And then they had these pallets of,
- 10:17S5: of wine bottles wrapped. Like they've just come out of a,
- 10:20S5: out of a bottling plant left in the middle of
- 10:22S5: the streets in the way of where these people were heading.
- 10:25S4: That's like coming across a good hall in Grand Theft Auto.
- 10:28S5: It literally was.
- 10:28S4: Who left us.
- 10:29S5: Yeah. So riot thousands were arrested. Um, so essentially what started?
- 10:35S5: And then all these places got torched. Um, buildings got looted,
- 10:39S5: shops got looted. There were people standing there saying, stop.
- 10:42S5: This is exactly what they're trying to make happen. You know,
- 10:44S5: like this is and everyone just kind of went bananas, um,
- 10:47S5: just similar to LA and they got done over. So
- 10:50S5: it started as kids demanding better schools has become a
- 10:52S5: nationwide revolt over the cost of living and frustration with
- 10:55S5: Macron's government. There's a really good guy.
- 10:59S4: Mellowed out now. It's still going.
- 11:00S5: Oh it's bubbling. It's yeah it's not it's not it's
- 11:03S5: not going to stay that way. There's a guy called Mr.
- 11:05S5: Cody Dahler who does these amazing hot takes on it.
- 11:09S5: Very factual as well. I'll put together a, um, I'll
- 11:12S5: put together a bounce back for it and you'll be
- 11:14S5: able to check it out. All right, all right.
- 11:15S4: Well now I know if you don't know.
- 11:17S5: But he does. He does everything. He does everything.
- 11:20S4: I've seen a couple of his things. He is very good.
- 11:22S4: So if people are interested in that sort of stuff,
- 11:24S4: you can, uh, get the bounce back in a couple
- 11:27S4: of moments. Thank you very much. Jay Reeves. Coming up next,
- 11:29S4: the ultimate case of good karma. Um, I'm talking $48
- 11:33S4: million worth of good karma.
- 11:35S6: Jay and dunk sitting in a tree. KISS okay. That's weird.
- 11:40S4: Rock drive drunk driving your home in the Rock Midwest League.
- 11:44S4: Joining us now with the ultimate case of good karma.
- 11:47S4: This is one of the best stories of the year.
- 11:48S4: I reckon this microphone couldn't be in a worse position.
- 11:52S5: Um, good afternoon gentlemen. How are we?
- 11:55S4: Yeah. Here he is, mate.
- 11:56S9: Look, I'm all about good karma. You give, you get.
- 11:58S9: You know, you got to go along to get you
- 12:00S9: get along to go along. You know, it's all good stuff.
- 12:02S9: So one of my fellow.
- 12:04S5: Gingy.
- 12:04S9: Gingy gingy, I believe it's pronounced. It's not a g uh, jinga.
- 12:10S9: That's me anyway. Great karma. So, uh, a five year
- 12:14S9: old gal in 2010 from Ontario, Canada. Her name's Juliet.
- 12:18S9: She donated the contents of her piggy bank, which at
- 12:20S9: the time for her that she'd saved was $61.38.
- 12:25S4: Wow. That's a huge amount for a five year old.
- 12:28S5: That's a gazillion dollars in today's money.
- 12:29S9: You could almost run the show back in 2010 with, uh,
- 12:32S9: 61 Bucker. So she donated all of that to the
- 12:36S9: horrifying Haiti earthquake appeal. So she donated that money to
- 12:40S9: the Canadian Red cross and was happy to give that
- 12:43S9: away and was, you know, real pumped. And what a
- 12:45S9: lovely thing to do at such a young age to
- 12:46S9: have that set of attributes as a human being. What
- 12:48S9: a glorious set of characteristics to have to give to
- 12:51S9: others when you're so young. That came back to her,
- 12:53S9: and I've done the math here. Shitloads. She won $48
- 12:59S9: million in the Canadian lottery 13 years later. So she
- 13:03S9: was 18 when she won this money. We've got a
- 13:05S9: clip from this. Have a go at this.
- 13:07S4: Wow. Okay.
- 13:08S10: I'm like, oh, I have one. So they check it.
- 13:11S10: And sure enough, my my boss, the pharmacist I was
- 13:14S10: working with checked it on the OLG app on his
- 13:16S10: phone and it came up winner on the 48 million.
- 13:20S10: So my, the pharmacist, his hands went to his head.
- 13:24S10: He fell on his knees. He was like, oh my God,
- 13:26S10: oh my God. I didn't believe it. It felt so surreal.
- 13:34S10: I was just in so much shock. I didn't know
- 13:35S10: how to react. Who was your first call? My coworkers
- 13:39S10: are behind me. They're telling my mom, come and get her.
- 13:41S10: Come and get her. She came to my work and
- 13:43S10: I gave her the ticket. I was so scared. I
- 13:45S10: already signed it all shaky. I gave her the ticket
- 13:48S10: and she's like, okay, you're staying. You're finishing your shift
- 13:51S10: until five. I'm like, okay.
- 13:54S4: Yeah, I like that.
- 13:55S9: Mumsie $48 million now. She used it to pay for
- 13:58S9: medical school. She also invested in a bunch of stuff
- 14:01S9: and uses it for various, still various philanthropic causes in
- 14:05S9: her home city of Ontario, Canada.
- 14:07S4: Like she'd probably win again if she carries on.
- 14:09S9: What do you always say? You never see me again
- 14:11S9: if you won lotto just. No. Isn't that what you said? Oh,
- 14:14S9: is that an off air chat?
- 14:16S4: What does he say? I wouldn't tell anybody or give
- 14:17S4: anybody anything, but.
- 14:20S9: Oh, that's it, that's.
- 14:21S4: It, I think. But for the record, everyone in this room,
- 14:25S4: a million bucks.
- 14:26S5: Well, there we have it.
- 14:27S9: I'm Benny, you're not in the room.
- 14:28S4: No. Oh, no, not even a.
- 14:31S5: Million. I would walk in so I could log on
- 14:34S5: to my computer to hit send. That email that I've
- 14:37S5: drafted up many moons ago.
- 14:40S9: Yeah. No, but what a what a what a yarn, though.
- 14:43S9: That's so cool.
- 14:44S4: Great yarn. Nice work.
- 14:45S6: Enjoying this podcast. I get more of the boys on
- 14:48S6: their other podcast. Not for radio uncensored yarns nor tea
- 14:52S6: and laughs with the lads wherever you get your podcasts.
- 14:56S4: Uh, time for some good news.
- 14:58S3: Good news.
- 15:01S5: Bucking the trend is what we like to do. It's
- 15:03S5: not all doom and gloom out there.
- 15:05S4: You know when they say if it bleeds, it leads.
- 15:08S4: We don't say that, no. We just say, look for
- 15:11S4: the good in everything and then broadcast it in a
- 15:14S4: segment on the rock called Good News.
- 15:15S5: Doesn't rhyme as well, but I think it's more important. Um,
- 15:18S5: special mention to, uh, good friend Davey Young, who has
- 15:21S5: a morbid fear of the dentist. And after 20 years
- 15:25S5: of toothache, he is all booked in for the surgery
- 15:29S5: to get it all sorted out. And he's a handsome
- 15:31S5: man already. All I'll say is lock up your family
- 15:34S5: pets once that's done.
- 15:35S4: Okay.
- 15:36S5: Uh, good news. Leading good news. Speaking of absolute units, uh,
- 15:41S5: mountain gorillas making a comeback in Rwanda. They celebrated the
- 15:44S5: naming of 22 newborn gorillas, which is the largest batch
- 15:48S5: in the last 23 years.
- 15:50S4: 22.
- 15:51S5: Yeah. Wider mountain gorilla population has reportedly passed 1100. An
- 15:57S5: incredible turnaround for an animal once pushed towards extinction. It
- 16:00S5: was only in the 80s that they were down into
- 16:02S5: the tens and 20s.
- 16:04S4: Wow.
- 16:04S5: Yep. Humanitarian heroes in Cameroon have completed 870 emergency shelters
- 16:11S5: for displaced families, alongside distributing more than 1500 roofing kits.
- 16:15S5: Hundreds of families getting some security back after what's happened there. Um,
- 16:19S5: there's a bloke in India that sparked an environmental movement.
- 16:22S5: A 21 year old student started cleaning a polluted river
- 16:25S5: entirely by himself as his efforts attracted government attention. Heavy
- 16:30S5: machinery and a proposed $1.8 million sewage treatment plant has
- 16:35S5: just been given the green light. One person making an
- 16:38S5: extraordinary difference. Um. And Somalia. $15 million of new humanitarian
- 16:43S5: funding has been directed towards protecting communities ahead of the
- 16:47S5: anticipated floods that are heading their way. Central services will
- 16:51S5: benefit up to 600,000 people. Prevention rather than waiting for disaster.
- 16:56S5: Getting ahead of these things. Uh, and a little good
- 16:58S5: news for kids in Syria and Syria. A traveling mobile
- 17:01S5: library is bringing books, storytelling, puppet shows, and art art
- 17:05S5: workshops back to children and rural communities where access to
- 17:09S5: these opportunities completely limited. This is where it gets really spicy.
- 17:13S5: Cancer treatment without surgery. In October this year, American regulators
- 17:17S5: approved an immunotherapy that could allow certain rectal cancer patients
- 17:21S5: to avoid chemo, radiation and other major surgery altogether by
- 17:26S5: doing this. Um, and there's a heart valve that grows
- 17:29S5: with your child. FDA has approved the first surgical implanted
- 17:32S5: pulmonary heart valve designed to expand as children grow, potentially
- 17:36S5: reducing the need for repeated open heart operations on little people. Yes.
- 17:41S5: And a simple piss test could revolutionize cancer detection. Stanford
- 17:45S5: scientists have developed a urine test that correctly identified 95%
- 17:51S5: of patients with localized bladder cancer in a study. It
- 17:54S5: could also help doctors choose the most effective treatment. And
- 17:57S5: while we're talking about sniff and piss, we head down
- 17:59S5: south and, uh. And in New Zealand to Dunedin, um,
- 18:04S5: the Canine Medical Detection Agency in New Zealand or canine
- 18:07S5: MD as it's as well known as known their ability to, to,
- 18:12S5: to detect bowel cancer, prostate cancer and ovarian cancer are
- 18:17S5: still world leading and still unfunded and would love your
- 18:22S5: support if you know anybody that's been affected by any
- 18:25S5: of those, they are doing stuff that the rest of
- 18:27S5: the world could only dream about. And right here in
- 18:30S5: little old New Zealand, batting above our average, as we
- 18:33S5: always do. So well done to all those people doing
- 18:35S5: epic stuff.
- 18:36S4: That is bloody good news. Thank you, Jay Reef, uh,
- 18:39S4: New Zealand's top journalist.
- 18:40S6: Rock drive with Jay and Dunk.
- 18:42S4: One of the greatest and could be the greatest UFC
- 18:45S4: fighter of all time. Alexander Volkanovski is getting back in
- 18:48S4: the Octagon this coming Sunday morning, New Zealand time. We'll
- 18:51S4: get to that shortly, but it's just kind of been
- 18:55S4: announced via social media where he's going to be going
- 18:57S4: on holiday after his fight. So Islam Makhachev.
- 19:02S5: Yes.
- 19:03S4: Who's like the python inside the ring. He wraps everyone
- 19:06S4: up has just tweeted Alexander Volkanovski saying Alex you cook
- 19:10S4: very well. Sometimes I watch your videos and it looks
- 19:13S4: pretty appetizing. Therefore, I invite you to come to Dagestan,
- 19:18S4: come for 2 to 3 weeks, bring your family and come.
- 19:20S4: I will cook for you in the mountains of Dagestan.
- 19:22S4: We can do a lot of things here, go hunting,
- 19:25S4: eat in the fresh air in the mountains and enjoy it.
- 19:27S4: I have nothing but respect for you. You are a
- 19:28S4: great fighter and a great person. I am waiting for you. Um.
- 19:32S4: 28,000 likes quickly backed up. The vault comes back. Islam.
- 19:37S4: I thought about this for a long time and I
- 19:38S4: was afraid to come to Dagestan. I thought it was
- 19:41S4: a pretty dangerous there. But since you are insisting I
- 19:44S4: will come after my victory at UFC 333, I will
- 19:47S4: definitely come. We will ride horses there, live in a
- 19:50S4: tent and cooking nature in the mountains. I think these
- 19:53S4: will be very beautiful moments. I'm looking forward to my
- 19:55S4: arrival in Dagestan. Thank you very much for the invitation.
- 19:58S11: God, man.
- 20:02S5: Have you seen Dagestan?
- 20:04S4: Straight away in my ears. That's a trap skin lamp.
- 20:10S5: Um, apparently.
- 20:10S4: He'll get you.
- 20:12S5: He said that after retirement. But I mean, even those
- 20:14S5: two hanging out, like that's a that's a hell of
- 20:16S5: a combo. Um.
- 20:17S4: Oh. So so Volks pushed it out now. So he
- 20:20S4: still said yes. Yeah.
- 20:21S5: Um but have you seen Dagestan though. But Dagestan looks
- 20:24S5: like it.
- 20:24S4: Basically it looks like uh I don't know. AM I
- 20:27S4: right in saying it looks like if you were to
- 20:28S4: go on holiday in a quarry. You. It looks quite stony.
- 20:40S5: It is. Yabba dabba doo.
- 20:45S12: That's where they filmed the Flintstones.
- 20:46S5: Oh. This is. We've got our own series.
- 20:48S4: We're on our high horse, living in.
- 20:49S5: The.
- 20:49S4: Best country on planet earth. I know that. We're very lucky.
- 20:52S5: Is it? We just said it as well. Is this
- 20:55S5: the next season of Idiot Abroad, where Dunc just gets
- 20:57S5: sent to different places and all these places? I don't
- 21:02S5: know about this. Kind of reminds me of Leeston a
- 21:04S5: little bit.
- 21:04S4: Pre-quake hand on heart. I'd do that if, um. You know,
- 21:10S4: if I ever break up with Dixie. I can't do
- 21:13S4: it now. Go do the idiot thing. Go travelling and
- 21:16S4: be like, oh, yeah, they look. I felt like that
- 21:18S4: when I went to Vegas.
- 21:19S5: You didn't have to be single. You don't have to
- 21:20S5: bang your way around the world. Oh, jeez.
- 21:22S4: Oh, jeez. This guy. Can we get back on? Um,
- 21:28S4: put the train back on the tracks.
- 21:31S5: He's got head to head. He's. He's a buck 87
- 21:33S5: versus a buck 97.
- 21:36S4: So it's very tight.
- 21:37S5: Yeah.
- 21:37S4: Mobster is an undefeated Russian fighter. It's a huge fight
- 21:42S4: this weekend. He's 20 fights, 20 wins. He's a racing machine. Classic. Um,
- 21:47S4: Russian bloke Volk's looking to become the first man to
- 21:50S4: knock him off. So, um, all signs are pointing towards
- 21:54S4: a bloody good fight. I'm picking Volk on points or Ko.
- 21:57S6: Yeah, the boys rock drive with Jay and dunk it.
- 21:59S4: It's been a while since we've done this.
- 22:02S13: That really hurt.
- 22:03S14: I'm very badly injured.
- 22:05S15: 000000. I'll stop! Oh, stop! Oh!
- 22:10S14: Someone call an ambulance! I'm in quite a lot of pain.
- 22:15S5: So this is one straight off the bat. And, you know,
- 22:18S5: people save up their tickets when they go to the
- 22:20S5: supermarket and they grab themselves a little snack. Yes. So
- 22:22S5: the father in law nearly cut his whole hand off,
- 22:24S5: opening up the old Smeg knife box with another Smeg knife.
- 22:27S5: I've collected all the stickers. The kitchen looked like a
- 22:31S5: massacre had taken place. Yeah. Nah.
- 22:33S4: How good you know that that packaging that's super hard
- 22:37S4: to get off.
- 22:37S5: Backpack. Plastic. Hard plastic.
- 22:39S4: Stop it. That's from Zoe. Lady at work was walking
- 22:42S4: to her therapy session, tripped over her own pant leg,
- 22:45S4: fell over, snapped her tibia in half, needed surgeries, and
- 22:48S4: was in a cast from her toes to her hip
- 22:50S4: for two months on work cover for ages.
- 22:53S5: Hey, it's going to take a bit of conversation with
- 22:54S5: the old lady that you're parking up with. Uh, this
- 22:57S5: one here from Ray. My sister was having a sleepover
- 22:59S5: at her best mates place. Now they initiated a pillow fight.
- 23:02S5: Her bezzie whacked her full on in the face with
- 23:05S5: a pillow, broke not only her nose, but her jaw
- 23:08S5: as well. That took a bit of explaining.
- 23:09S4: Yeah, that's one of them old school ones with a
- 23:12S4: thousand ducks inside it.
- 23:14S5: Chrissie Bays was making dinner when to turn around from
- 23:17S5: the sink back to the stove. Well, ended up on
- 23:19S5: the ground. What happened there? My leg was pointing the
- 23:21S5: wrong direction. I dislocated my knee.
- 23:25S4: Wow. That's one from Ethan. I slipped a disc in
- 23:28S4: my neck and a teaspoon from the bottom dishwasher at work. Raymond?
- 23:32S4: I bent down to grab one of my boy's shoes
- 23:34S4: off the floor while sitting on a dining chair. I
- 23:36S4: tore open the middle of my abdomen muscles from my
- 23:39S4: appendix surgery nearly two years ago. Just had a CT
- 23:41S4: scan on Wednesday to double check. And yep, I have
- 23:44S4: a fist sized hole where my bowel now pushes through. Uh,
- 23:47S4: pushes out my muscles. When I strain, I cough or sneeze,
- 23:49S4: or I twist the wrong way to bend over. It's
- 23:51S4: screwed guys. It's screwed.
- 23:53S5: Couse I fractured my thumb from an overexcited tambourine playing
- 23:56S5: session on a massive night out on the twins. Ian.
- 24:00S5: Liam Gallagher, Ian. I got the eraser on the end
- 24:03S5: of a pencil. Stuck up my nose when I was
- 24:05S5: at primary school. Didn't want to get in trouble, so
- 24:07S5: I didn't tell anybody I was there for the whole day.
- 24:10S5: Eventually it fell out at cricket practice that afternoon. Woof.
- 24:13S5: The relief I felt.
- 24:14S4: Uh, there's some Jessica Grey. I broke my toe making
- 24:17S4: a sandwich. When I went to close the fridge door,
- 24:20S4: it caught my toe and snapped it backwards. Anonymous. A
- 24:23S4: couple of days into a chest infection. Cough so hard
- 24:26S4: I completely snapped two ribs. Antibiotics didn't do shit and
- 24:28S4: the infection lasted two months. Easy, easy. Let's just say
- 24:32S4: I didn't get much sleep for two of those months.
- 24:34S5: This. This could be gold standard Maddie Gibson. I managed
- 24:39S5: to herniate three discs when I was sighing at how
- 24:42S5: weak my workmate was. Oh.
- 24:50S6: Yeah, the fella rock drive with Jay and Dunk.
- 24:55S4: Now I would like everyone to lean in because it
- 24:58S4: is story time. So there's this French bloke.
- 25:04S5: How does he speak?
- 25:09S4: Seven. Whose story might.
- 25:11S5: Be French or Chinese? What's his name?
- 25:17S4: Jean.
- 25:18S5: Jock.
- 25:19S4: Seven.
- 25:20S5: Okay.
- 25:22S4: So this is French bloke. His name doesn't actually matter,
- 25:25S4: but it's the story that counts. French bloke whose story
- 25:27S4: might change the way you think about getting older. So
- 25:30S4: it's 71.
- 25:31S9: I'm back.
- 25:32S4: He decides that he still has a few adventures left
- 25:35S4: in him.
- 25:35S5: Good on.
- 25:36S4: Him. He climbs inside a barrel.
- 25:38S5: Ooh.
- 25:38S4: This is like a big barrel. Resin coated and sets
- 25:42S4: off across the Atlantic Ocean. No engine, no sails, no oars.
- 25:47S5: Just go where the tide takes you.
- 25:49S4: Just him floating wherever the current takes him. Inside he's
- 25:54S4: got a little beard, a tiny kitchen and a window
- 25:57S4: in the floor so he could watch the fish swimming underneath.
- 26:00S5: That's quite cool.
- 26:01S4: He even packs a red a bottle of red wine
- 26:03S4: for his 72nd birthday.
- 26:05S5: I was gonna say, at that age, most people are
- 26:07S5: climbing inside of a bottle, not a barrel.
- 26:09S4: Different sort of box. Uh, so he's turning 27. Imagine that.
- 26:13S4: I'm 72. Um, imagine that floating in the middle of
- 26:17S4: the Atlantic, raising a glass yourself, saying it's been a
- 26:20S4: hell of a ride. After more than four months and 4500km,
- 26:26S4: he makes it to the Caribbean.
- 26:28S5: How does he sustain himself?
- 26:31S4: Just one elderly bloke in a barrel had crossed an ocean.
- 26:36S5: Living off Werther's originals.
- 26:38S4: Probably. And you think what? Like at this point you're going.
- 26:41S4: What a reminder. There's still time. There's still time to
- 26:45S4: see things. There's still a lot we all need to do.
- 26:49S4: There's a bit of life to grab Ahold of. But
- 26:52S4: Jean-Jacques wasn't finished.
- 26:53S5: J then what did he do?
- 26:55S4: Well, a few years later, at 74, he set off again.
- 26:58S4: This time he was going to row across the Atlantic
- 27:01S4: at 74. Another birthday at sea, another adventure. Because why
- 27:09S4: should getting older mean you stop doing the things that
- 27:11S4: you love?
- 27:12S5: Yeah. Good on you.
- 27:13S4: Why settle down when there's still a whole world out
- 27:16S4: there to see? Anyway, his boat capsized and he never
- 27:19S4: came home.
- 27:20S5: Oh. Rest in peace. Good on you, mate. He was
- 27:26S5: out there, though, wasn't he?
- 27:27S4: Just don't push it too far. I think it's the
- 27:28S4: moral of the story there.
- 27:29S5: Just leave it at the barrel.
- 27:31S6: Strap in and send it. Rock drive with Jay and dunk.
- 27:40S4: Rock drive. Daddy. Um. Okay. Uh, this is my daily dump.
- 27:43S4: Best of the internet. This is this bloke who basically
- 27:46S4: loves petrol station American hot dogs. And you know how
- 27:50S4: you can in America. I don't know if you've been there, but, um,
- 27:53S4: the they have the hot dog cooking machines that you can,
- 27:56S4: they have the buns ready to go, they heat up
- 27:58S4: really fast and you've got the little roll heated rollers
- 28:01S4: that roll the franks. Yeah. And they just constantly ready
- 28:04S4: to go like it is. And you've got your sauce
- 28:06S4: station on the side. This guy, that's what he loves.
- 28:10S4: And he decides to bring it into his home and
- 28:12S4: his missus doesn't love it.
- 28:14S16: A few weeks ago, I replaced our oven with a
- 28:16S16: hot dog roller. My wife made me put it back,
- 28:18S16: so I moved it to my bedside table, which she
- 28:20S16: hated because it didn't match the aesthetic of our room.
- 28:22S16: So I changed the entire aesthetic of our room. Then
- 28:25S16: she shut that down because she didn't want the inside
- 28:27S16: of her house to feel like a gas station. So
- 28:29S16: I built a gas station in our backyard and this
- 28:31S16: place was sweet. It was stocked with dogs and snacks,
- 28:34S16: and you could even see the whole thing from our
- 28:36S16: bedroom window. And I finally think I found a solution here.
- 28:38S16: It took a little bit of trial and error, but
- 28:40S16: at the end of the day, yeah, she hated it.
- 28:42S16: She said her friends don't even want to come over
- 28:44S16: anymore because nobody wants to hang out at a gas station.
- 28:46S16: So maybe it was finally time to pay my respects,
- 28:49S16: say my goodbyes, and put this dog dream to rest.
- 28:52S16: But then it hit me. The issue still isn't the dogs.
- 28:56S16: It's where I'm serving them. It just needs to be
- 28:58S16: somewhere that women actually like to hang out. So I
- 29:01S16: built a coffee shop right next door. And this isn't
- 29:04S16: just any coffee shop. This is like one of those
- 29:06S16: fancy fusion places. She told me about, where they combine
- 29:09S16: two things into one. And I mean, what Pinterest girl
- 29:12S16: doesn't want to hang out here? I only had three
- 29:14S16: days to build this thing because my wife was out
- 29:16S16: of town, so I hit up a contractor on Angie,
- 29:18S16: and I showed them my master plan, and this place
- 29:20S16: started coming together perfectly, like coffee and hot dogs. After
- 29:23S16: we finished painting, it was finally time to start making
- 29:26S16: this place look like a real coffee shop. First I
- 29:28S16: hung up this sign I made and I gotta say,
- 29:30S16: brew and bun. It kind of just rolls off the tongue.
- 29:32S16: After I hung up the little menu board, I knew
- 29:34S16: it was time for the Queen's triumphal return. Except for
- 29:37S16: this time, she would have to share the throne a
- 29:39S16: little bit after adding some more essential coffee shop things,
- 29:42S16: including our signature morning Frank blend. I added some fresh
- 29:45S16: food options that I believe pair well with anything, and
- 29:48S16: you got sweet and savory depending on your preference. After
- 29:50S16: a quick dog restock and adding some seeding, I fired
- 29:53S16: this place up and we were ready to serve some
- 29:55S16: bun and some brew. I mean, imagine being able to
- 29:58S16: come back here and whip up a latte or whatever
- 30:00S16: that was. The world is your wiener. I mean, a
- 30:03S16: place like this so close to her house, she's going
- 30:05S16: to lose her mind. Her friends aren't going to want
- 30:08S16: to go home after seeing this. I can't wait to
- 30:10S16: see her reaction to this one.
- 30:13S5: If you would like to see that text.
- 30:15S12: Dump.
- 30:16S5: DUMP23520 and just go on the roller coaster. I instantly
- 30:22S5: don't feel so bad about the stuff or the crazy
- 30:24S5: ass ideas that I. Because I just pitched them, I
- 30:27S5: don't fulfill them. I don't follow them through. There is
- 30:30S5: no execution of my terrible ideas.
- 30:33S4: It's there. Uh, a better saying or quote from today's
- 30:37S4: radio show than the world is your wiener.
- 30:39S5: The world is your wiener.
- 30:41S3: Amazing rock drive.
- 30:43S6: With Jay and dunk.
- 30:44S4: How's this? 34 surgeons in Saudi Arabia spent over 12
- 30:48S4: hours to successfully separate Fiji and conjoined twins who were
- 30:52S4: joined at the lower abdomen. 34 surgeons.
- 30:56S5: That's impressive. You know, the the difference between our boys
- 30:59S5: being joined like that and not is their ability to
- 31:03S5: completely split over a 48 hour period. So when the
- 31:07S5: embryo is traveling along that thing, it's got two days
- 31:09S5: for it to replicate and split. And so if it
- 31:12S5: starts late, that's what happens. You get conjoined twins. So
- 31:15S5: that is them passing the point of replication and not separating.
- 31:20S4: Yeah. Jeez, what happens if you like, say, went out
- 31:23S4: partying at that time? Is it? Give it a bigger chance.
- 31:26S5: I'm not sure.
- 31:27S4: Made it a bit sluggish, you know, accidentally got a
- 31:29S4: k hole or something. Yeah. Everything moved a bit slower
- 31:31S4: through the body. Or I ate a whole packet of
- 31:33S4: chocolate weddings.
- 31:35S5: That was well, because my wife was pregnant and we
- 31:38S5: were trying for kids. It's the cleanest I've ever been.
- 31:40S5: No booze, no nothing, no sugar, high water, zinc tablets,
- 31:45S5: you name it, buddy.
- 31:46S4: Unhappiest. He's ever been as well. Everyone.
- 31:48S9: Yeah.
- 31:49S5: He's just seen the celebrations when I found out we
- 31:52S5: were on.
- 31:52S4: Yeah, they carried on until when they came.
- 31:54S5: Yeah, I just slapped it into reverse and just floored
- 31:57S5: it for 30 odd years.
- 31:59S17: You're a dick. You're a dick. You're a dick, you're
- 32:01S17: a dick.
- 32:02S18: He needs a D.
- 32:03S4: So kids have got like, no filter. And if one's
- 32:09S4: absolutely ruined you, you can text us three, five, two zero.
- 32:12S4: Like Charlotte Stockdale. My son pulled off his nappy, climbed
- 32:15S4: onto a set of drawers, and we'd all over our
- 32:17S4: brand new TV. Cool, bro. Cool. That's from Shannon. Uh,
- 32:23S4: when I was little, my dad was supposed to be
- 32:24S4: babysitting me, and instead of doing that, he decided to
- 32:26S4: take a nap. I got into my mom's nail polish
- 32:28S4: and painted my dad's eyelids shut. Oh. He managed. Uh,
- 32:32S4: managed to get one eye open enough to call my
- 32:34S4: mum when she was working at the hospital. He asked
- 32:36S4: her what she should he should do, and he. And
- 32:39S4: she goes, well, use nail polish remover. And he said, really?
- 32:43S4: And mum said, no, dipshit, call someone to bring you
- 32:46S4: into the emergency room.
- 32:48S5: Uh, this one here from Nikki. When my daughter was
- 32:50S5: about 5 or 6, I got out of the shower
- 32:52S5: and she went, mummy, you've got really big boobies, haven't you? Yes,
- 32:55S5: I replied straight away. She asked, is that why you've
- 32:57S5: got such a big belly so that you can rest
- 32:59S5: them on it?
- 33:03S4: Ruthless kids system Lauren Macduff. When I was a kid,
- 33:07S4: I asked a lot of questions. Some of them were reasonable,
- 33:10S4: some of them not. Either way, my mum got fed
- 33:11S4: up and just started answering because one day I asked,
- 33:15S4: why do we have eyebrows and eyelashes? Yep. The answer
- 33:18S4: was because nonetheless, me thinking as a kid, I don't
- 33:21S4: want here on my face, proceed to cut my eyelashes
- 33:23S4: off and shave my eyebrows. We were due to go
- 33:25S4: to my sister in law's wedding and I was a
- 33:27S4: flower girl when my mother saw me. She was livid.
- 33:30S4: Me of course, with full confidence I told her, well,
- 33:33S4: I did ask them what I did ask you what
- 33:35S4: they were for.
- 33:37S5: This one here from Cain Watson taking my boys to
- 33:40S5: swimming lessons when they are about seven and eight years old, respectively.
- 33:44S5: When we're getting change in the changing rooms with all
- 33:46S5: the other kids and their dads, the seven year old said,
- 33:48S5: hey dad, look, our wellies are the same size. The
- 33:52S5: whole place erupted in laughter and I was stuck in
- 33:58S5: no man's land. Couldn't turn around and show everybody that
- 34:00S5: it wasn't the case because I'd be flashing myself in
- 34:03S5: front of kids. Oh, did I die?
- 34:08S4: That takes the cake for today. That is amazing.
- 34:14S18: Kids! Daddy!
- 34:17S3: The Rock drive podcast.
- 34:19S4: Time for late mail.
- 34:20S18: Late mail.
- 34:23S4: A lot to get to. This from Douglas. Hi, fellas.
- 34:26S4: Douglas McLaughlin from Christchurch. Just letting you know what was spent.
- 34:29S4: Some of the $750 for back in Duncan the bet
- 34:32S4: you bet. Got a 12 foot pool and equipment for
- 34:34S4: our ten grandchildren. I use our savings as I know
- 34:38S4: it takes 10 to 14 days. But it's Noah's birthday
- 34:40S4: on Saturday, so having a pool party. Thanks so much.
- 34:43S4: I'm not asking for forgiveness for my wife. There was
- 34:46S4: violence on Saturday and a few Jim beams lol. Go Canterbury!
- 34:50S5: Yeah it's going to be a big weekend this weekend
- 34:52S5: and um, it's going to be a big weekend this
- 34:54S5: weekend in Canterbury. Actually they're taking on the tonifies for
- 34:57S5: the NPC final. Mhm. How's Matty Watson. So he obviously, uh,
- 35:01S5: one of the biggest stars fans that there is um,
- 35:04S5: lives and breathes the club. He's all about it. Uh,
- 35:07S5: dropping a message he is just taking. He won't mind
- 35:09S5: me sharing this, I'm sure. Um, he's taking off to
- 35:14S5: where was he going? I messaged he was basically heading
- 35:16S5: hitting off flying into Queenstown today, heading out for a hunt,
- 35:20S5: then across to the west coast for a fish Spearfish,
- 35:24S5: then back to Christchurch for Saturday for the game.
- 35:26S4: I feel like he did something similar another time, or
- 35:30S4: somebody we were talking to were, and they were worried
- 35:31S4: about going to the game covered in blood and guts.
- 35:34S5: Yeah.
- 35:35S4: It was a shield match or something, I think.
- 35:38S5: He also turned up to the Supercars with a firearm.
- 35:41S4: Oh yeah. They're like, uh, you can't take that in here.
- 35:44S5: He's like, yeah, no kidding. Can I just leave it
- 35:46S5: with the police? Yeah. He left it there. Um, and the, uh, funny, funny, funny.
- 35:50S5: Not funny. Uh, met the girlfriend's parents for the first time.
- 35:54S5: Her dad asked what my intentions were with his daughter.
- 35:56S5: I said, whatever she'll let me get away with.
- 36:00S4: Haha. Funny funny funny. Not funny.
- 36:02S5: Mike in Invercargill. Uh, the boss said another one here.
- 36:05S5: Boss said that we needed to start acting like a family.
- 36:08S5: So I asked if that meant that we could start
- 36:10S5: borrowing money and never pay it back. Got called an HR. Cheers, Steve.
- 36:14S4: Uh, that's another amazing one. I've got one from Ryan
- 36:17S4: and Nelson. Best man at my brother's wedding. I thought
- 36:20S4: I'd open my speech by announcing that the groom had
- 36:22S4: actually been married once before, and there was a child
- 36:24S4: that nobody knew about. I was gonna leave a big pause,
- 36:29S4: then say, just kidding. Problem was, his new wife's father
- 36:32S4: stood up and started yelling at him before I could
- 36:34S4: deliver the punchline. Bride burst into tears. My brother looks
- 36:37S4: like he wants to murder me, and the celebrant had
- 36:39S4: to come over and calm everyone down. I go through
- 36:41S4: about two more sentences before being told to sit down.
- 36:44S4: I haven't been asked to speak at a wedding since.
- 36:46S4: Fair enough to Steven Done.as funny, funny, not funny. One
- 36:49S4: of the boys at work is always stealing my chair,
- 36:51S4: so I wound up the height adjustment right down to
- 36:54S4: the and loosened the backrest, thinking he'd sit down and
- 36:56S4: get a fry. Completely forgot that I'd done it. About
- 36:59S4: an hour later, our regional manager and regional manager comes
- 37:03S4: into the office, grabs a chair for a meeting, leans
- 37:06S4: back and ends up flat on his eyes with his
- 37:09S4: legs in the air. Spilled an entire coffee down his shirt.
- 37:12S4: I laughed before I realized who it was. Got pulled
- 37:15S4: into a meeting with HR that afternoon. Had to write
- 37:17S4: an apology. Apparently, it wasn't meant for you. Isn't a
- 37:21S4: great defense.
- 37:22S5: Yeah, that's that is tough, though, when that happens. Um,
- 37:25S5: I was at my uncle's funeral and, uh, told my auntie. Well,
- 37:29S5: at least you won't have to watch the Warriors lose
- 37:30S5: another grand final. I was just trying to lighten the mood.
- 37:33S5: She didn't take it that way. Started crying even harder.
- 37:36S18: That's good.
- 37:38S5: That's no.
- 37:38S18: Good.
- 37:39S6: Oh. Sounds feral, I love it. Rock drive with Jay
- 37:42S6: and Dunk.
- 37:43S5: This is, uh, this is effectively our Friday. We are
- 37:46S5: off tomorrow. Uh, Saturday, Sunday, Monday back Tuesday. So a
- 37:49S5: four day, a four day break.
- 37:51S18: Uh, if you.
- 37:52S4: Want more of us though, he has another not for
- 37:54S4: radio podcast released today. We chat to a bloke that
- 37:57S4: broke the world record for Scootering across for the longest time.
- 38:01S4: It's 22,000km. He's, uh, from Canada, but it sort of
- 38:05S4: moved here 13, 14 years ago, uh, took about three
- 38:09S4: months and he went through 36 countries.
- 38:11S5: But that's just one of the things on his hundred
- 38:14S5: strong bucket list to do before he dies. And he's
- 38:18S5: ticked over half of them already.
- 38:19S4: Started when he's 19. Dave. Oh yeah. He's a great listen.
- 38:22S4: He's awesome. So if you want to catch that, that's
- 38:24S4: on today's podcast. You can text NFR to three five,
- 38:28S4: two zero. Or you can just search not for radio
- 38:30S4: wherever you get your podcasts. Um, a couple of classic builders,
- 38:32S4: classic yarns in the mix as well. And tomorrow we're
- 38:35S4: going to catch up with our Welsh friend who we
- 38:37S4: flew out to the Bathurst 1000. Uh, Matty from.
- 38:40S18: Wales.
- 38:41S19: From the valleys is back home now with his family.
- 38:44S4: Uh, lots of messages from people across the globe too,
- 38:46S4: so there's plenty to climb into over the next couple
- 38:48S4: of days. As far as, um, not for radio goes. Um,
- 38:51S4: Leigh's looking after the show tomorrow. He's got, um, a
- 38:53S4: year's supply of heartland chips to give away. Uh, he
- 38:56S4: could have another no repeat workday to go. Uh, he
- 39:00S4: is something else.
- 39:01S5: Rock the globe as well.
- 39:02S4: The globe chances as well.
- 39:03S5: Announce it tomorrow. Yeah. He calls a winner.
- 39:05S4: You got the winner, right?
- 39:06S9: Yeah, man. I'll have the winner at 5:10. You still have.
- 39:09S9: You still have. You still have a couple chances tomorrow
- 39:11S9: to get in the draw for that, and there still
- 39:13S9: will be one in my show, so listen out.
- 39:15S4: Yeah, I'm looking forward to that. Um, going hiking for
- 39:18S4: the weekend with a bunch of other families, which is
- 39:20S4: going to be cool. Report back on Tuesday, let you
- 39:22S4: know how many blisters I get. I say I'm going hiking,
- 39:25S4: to be honest. We're in charge of loading up the
- 39:26S4: campsite and then sitting there drinking beers, waiting for everyone
- 39:28S4: else to arrive, I think, um, so we'll do the, uh,
- 39:31S4: carting of stuff over in the boats, I reckon.
- 39:34S5: And it's looking good to where you all heading?
- 39:35S4: I haven't even looked. Yeah, cos I can't change it.
- 39:38S4: I'll look now though. That's you say it's good.
- 39:41S5: Well good. I mean it's got 78 mils of rain
- 39:43S5: in three hours.
- 39:44S4: You know what I'm gonna say the whole weekend. Jay
- 39:46S4: said it was gonna be sweet and then everyone will
- 39:49S4: be like, what?
- 39:50S5: Did you listen to that? What? Did you listen to
- 39:52S5: that idiot?
- 39:52S4: Where did you get your meteorology, buddy? Diploma? Hey, uh,
- 39:57S4: Benny boy joins you on the night show tonight. He's doing, uh,
- 39:59S4: Lee's day show tomorrow as well. Have a great, uh,
- 40:02S4: long weekend when you get into yours. And we'll report
- 40:04S4: back Tuesday. Paul. Marty. Hooroo.
