A Catholic priest in Kansas, Father Ryan McCandless, was arrested on three counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child after an investigation began in September 2025. The allegations involve abuse of a six-year-old in Belleville between July and September 2025. Suspended by his diocese, McCandless, 44, was recently pastor of three Republic County churches and previously served in several other parishes.
