Speaker 1: Hi, Mikey. Great to see you. As always. This is Catherine,
0:05
Speaker 1: my producer.
0:06
Speaker 2: Hi there, Hi, nice seeing you.
0:09
Speaker 1: Our guest today is someone that I have personally campaigned for.
0:12
Speaker 1: She is a congresswoman in the state of New Jersey
0:14
Speaker 1: and she is running for the governor of New Jersey.
0:18
Speaker 1: The election is Tuesday, November fourth, but vote by mail
0:22
Speaker 1: has already started and early voting is available October twenty
0:26
Speaker 1: fifth through November two, So if you want more information,
0:30
Speaker 1: go to Mikey Cheryl dot com. Our guest today is
0:33
Speaker 1: a former Navy helicopter pilot, federal prosecutor, mom of four,
0:38
Speaker 1: and Democratic nominee for the governor in New Jersey. So
0:42
Speaker 1: please welcome you US representative for New Jersey. Mikey Cheryl. Hi,
0:46
Speaker 1: Miikey Cheryl.
0:47
Speaker 2: Hi, thanks so much for having me. This is great.
0:50
Speaker 1: Absolutely. I watched your episode for Potsave America too. I
0:54
Speaker 1: loved you on that and I love those guys. They're
0:56
Speaker 1: friends of mine.
0:57
Speaker 3: Oh good, Yeah, that was a great, great episode. That
1:00
Speaker 3: was a lot of fun to do.
1:02
Speaker 1: I'm very excited for your campaign and how is everything going.
1:05
Speaker 1: How's everything going in the state of New Jersey right now?
1:09
Speaker 3: As always perfect, it's perfect here. That thing going on
1:12
Speaker 3: here now it is. It's a tough fight. We are
1:16
Speaker 3: in a knockdown, drag out fight. I don't think anybody
1:18
Speaker 3: would be surprised to hear that, because New Jersey is,
1:22
Speaker 3: shall I say, known for the rough and tumble politics.
1:25
Speaker 3: We have that go on here, and I've always been
1:28
Speaker 3: up for it. But my opponent's pretty slimy and has
1:32
Speaker 3: broken the law in several ways and has just really
1:35
Speaker 3: gone after my family in a way that's totally inappropriate.
1:37
Speaker 3: So that has been a challenge. But you know what,
1:41
Speaker 3: I think in these times, that kind of thing backfires.
1:44
Speaker 3: I think people are kind of sick of career politicians
1:46
Speaker 3: who are slimy and trying to act like they're just
1:49
Speaker 3: you know, slick guys, and I'll pull out all the
1:52
Speaker 3: stops to get their own way.
1:54
Speaker 2: That's not what people want to say.
1:55
Speaker 1: And your opponent is one hundred percent maga, correct.
1:58
Speaker 2: Jack Chitdarelli, hundred percent maga.
2:00
Speaker 3: She likes to say that's not me saying that, that's
2:03
Speaker 3: Donald Trump saying that. And he's been pretty clear in
2:07
Speaker 3: showing that to the people of New Jersey. And so
2:09
Speaker 3: he's been in lockstep. And I think here like just
2:12
Speaker 3: about every state in the nation. We've seen these tariffs
2:15
Speaker 3: drive up cost everywhere. We've seen the attacks on our
2:18
Speaker 3: Department of Ed funding, on our healthcare, on even our
2:21
Speaker 3: utility costs.
2:22
Speaker 2: So we're seeing costs go up everywhere. And I have.
2:26
Speaker 3: Always been sort of known for going against anyone who
2:29
Speaker 3: comes at New Jersey, and that includes members of my
2:31
Speaker 3: own party. So I think the demand here in the
2:35
Speaker 3: great state of New Jersey is for a governor that's
2:37
Speaker 3: going to stand up for the people here and not
2:40
Speaker 3: kowtowed anyone, including the President of the United States.
2:43
Speaker 1: Yeah, let's talk a little bit about how a governor
2:45
Speaker 1: does that and what abilities a governor has to stand
2:49
Speaker 1: up to Trump, because we've seen Gavin Newsom do it,
2:51
Speaker 1: We've seen JB. Pritzker do it, We've seen Wes Moore
2:55
Speaker 1: to a certain degree do it. So talk to us
2:57
Speaker 1: a little bit about the capabilities that you have have
3:00
Speaker 1: to stand up to our president and how states can
3:03
Speaker 1: remain independent and to what degree they can.
3:06
Speaker 3: Well, a lot of that is the traditional ways, right,
3:09
Speaker 3: I tell people sometimes, you know, I'm a simple girl.
3:12
Speaker 3: I just want my kids to be able to go
3:14
Speaker 3: to the bus stop without people shooting them, or spend
3:17
Speaker 3: a day at school without an active shooter coming into
3:20
Speaker 3: their classroom. So I want good gun safety laws here
3:23
Speaker 3: in New Jersey, and we have some of the best.
3:25
Speaker 3: I want to make sure that the decisions I make
3:27
Speaker 3: about my reproductive health are between myself and my doctor
3:31
Speaker 3: and not myself in jac Chitarelli, who's proven himself to
3:34
Speaker 3: be in favor of abortion bands, and like the things
3:36
Speaker 3: we're seeing, you know across the South, where women are
3:39
Speaker 3: dying of miscarriages on operating tables. I just want to
3:42
Speaker 3: get my kids, you know, the MMR, measles muffs, rebella vaccines.
3:46
Speaker 3: I don't want an outbreak of measles, a deadly childhood
3:49
Speaker 3: disease here in New Jersey. I don't want babies as
3:51
Speaker 3: they are across the nation now dying of whooping cough
3:54
Speaker 3: or protesses because of rollbacks in our national health.
3:59
Speaker 2: So these these aren't to me groundbreaking ideas.
4:02
Speaker 3: These are things that most people in New Jersey agree with,
4:05
Speaker 3: and so that's a baseline for what governors can do.
4:08
Speaker 3: All of these things I've just spoken about, but we're
4:10
Speaker 3: seeing some really some new and innovative ways in which
4:13
Speaker 3: governors are growing state power. So things like Mara Healey
4:17
Speaker 3: and others in this Northeast coalition, and I know Gavin
4:20
Speaker 3: Newsom's doing it out West to promote national health to
4:24
Speaker 3: make sure that insurance companies are not backing away from
4:27
Speaker 3: their commitment to provide basic childhood vaccines. And we also
4:32
Speaker 3: see people like Governor Shapiro when Trump came after the
4:36
Speaker 3: Social Security numbers and the license information from the people
4:42
Speaker 3: who vote in Pennsylvania, and Governor Shapiro said, no, Trump's
4:46
Speaker 3: taking him to court.
4:47
Speaker 2: He thinks he'll win that, but he said no. But
4:49
Speaker 2: it just chills you to know that all of.
4:52
Speaker 3: This personal information in other states is just being turned
4:55
Speaker 3: over wholesale to the Trump administration. And so this this
5:00
Speaker 3: is where strong governors can really come into play. And
5:03
Speaker 3: you've mentioned several of them who are standing up right
5:06
Speaker 3: now to Donald Trump and this administration.
5:09
Speaker 2: So I think it's so key and so important.
5:11
Speaker 1: And how do you view the tech of it all?
5:13
Speaker 1: You know, all these tech guys basically genuflecting to Donald
5:16
Speaker 1: Trump and being in business with him, are bending the
5:18
Speaker 1: knee for him, and like, how do we fight back
5:20
Speaker 1: against that? State by state?
5:23
Speaker 3: So I don't think it's a state by state plan.
5:26
Speaker 3: I think it's regional plans, okay. And so we have
5:29
Speaker 3: really high end research and development that goes on here
5:32
Speaker 3: in New Jersey, like photonics. And I was just talking
5:34
Speaker 3: to someone this morning about the partnership that is in
5:37
Speaker 3: place between New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. And we are
5:41
Speaker 3: going to have to find ways to continue to fund
5:43
Speaker 3: and promote that innovation despite the fact that the federal
5:48
Speaker 3: government is now attacking innovation. And so I think in
5:51
Speaker 3: a regional way, we can really grow our economies, grow
5:56
Speaker 3: our rights and freedoms, and protect our rights and freedoms,
5:59
Speaker 3: and grow opportunity in a way that's different from maybe
6:03
Speaker 3: other states across the nation. And it's already and I
6:07
Speaker 3: was surprised by this, it's already becoming very clear to
6:10
Speaker 3: people what's going on in this nation. So we've seen
6:13
Speaker 3: ten thousand Floridians move to New Jersey. Oh really, which
6:16
Speaker 3: is a reversal of a long term trend. And you know,
6:20
Speaker 3: as you look into some of the data, it looks
6:22
Speaker 3: as if people are becoming increasingly concerned about governors who
6:26
Speaker 3: are not going to provide insurance for vaccines, who are
6:30
Speaker 3: going to wholesale promote abortion bands who are going to
6:34
Speaker 3: allow the president to ransack everyone's personally identifying information for
6:39
Speaker 3: his own purposes. Again and again, we're seeing I think
6:43
Speaker 3: people becoming very aware of where those states are that
6:48
Speaker 3: are going to actually continue to promote our values, our constitution,
6:53
Speaker 3: and our economy and drive in great innovation for their kids.
6:57
Speaker 2: And that is very contrary. It's Donald Trump.
7:04
Speaker 1: I love the idea of the region, this regional thing
7:07
Speaker 1: and states banding together. I feel like that, you know,
7:09
Speaker 1: if network executives or tech companies or these streamers, platforms,
7:13
Speaker 1: law firms would all just have gotten together and formed
7:16
Speaker 1: a coalition rather than allowing him to knock them over
7:19
Speaker 1: one by one. It's so frustrating as a citizen to
7:21
Speaker 1: watch all of this go down. So not only are
7:24
Speaker 1: you so qualified to be the governor, but you're a woman,
7:27
Speaker 1: and we need more women. We need more women to
7:30
Speaker 1: have more sanity in this crazy, crazy world and make
7:33
Speaker 1: really level headed decisions. I know your campaign puts a
7:36
Speaker 1: lot of focus on making New Jersey more affordable for
7:39
Speaker 1: its residents, So how are you going to do that?
7:43
Speaker 3: I am going to do that by driving down costs
7:46
Speaker 3: for families here and really focusing on the things we
7:49
Speaker 3: can do in New Jersey, such as putting a rate
7:51
Speaker 3: freeze on utility hikes, so all of the mismanagement of
7:55
Speaker 3: our utility production and our power production here in New
7:58
Speaker 3: Jerseys and dumped on rate pay and families, ensuring that
8:02
Speaker 3: we are driving down the cost of housing, transit oriented development,
8:06
Speaker 3: and developing some of the towns in New Jersey that
8:10
Speaker 3: were traditionally thriving and have not been invested in appropriately,
8:15
Speaker 3: like Trenton, like Atlantic City, so we can continue to
8:17
Speaker 3: drive down housing costs and also make New Jersey work
8:21
Speaker 3: better for people. Just next door, Governor Shapiro cut small
8:24
Speaker 3: business permitting times by ninety percent. So that's exactly the
8:28
Speaker 3: kind of government, responsive government I'm going to run. But
8:31
Speaker 3: I also just want to touch a bit, you know what, Chelsea.
8:34
Speaker 3: I have just been running in this race as somebody
8:38
Speaker 3: who has a record of serving the people of the state,
8:42
Speaker 3: who has a record of success.
8:43
Speaker 2: I was named the most effective member of Congress in
8:46
Speaker 2: only my second.
8:47
Speaker 3: Term, and who has brought a lot to the table
8:50
Speaker 3: for the people I serve. I haven't mentioned people know
8:53
Speaker 3: I'm a mom, and they know I'm a woman. I
8:56
Speaker 3: haven't always placed that front center. But this has been
8:59
Speaker 3: really horrible to see what the most incompetent secretary of
9:04
Speaker 3: Defense is doing right now, because I have to tell you,
9:09
Speaker 3: it hits home. And I was just being asked recently
9:13
Speaker 3: because Pete Haigseth, who is that incompetent Secretary of Defense
9:16
Speaker 3: who's put classified information out over unclassified systems and given
9:19
Speaker 3: it to his wife and his brother because he's like,
9:22
Speaker 3: you know, fucking little boy pretending to be the SECTEF
9:26
Speaker 3: is now saying that he wants to move back to
9:30
Speaker 3: the nineties.
9:31
Speaker 2: Now.
9:31
Speaker 3: In nineteen ninety, Pete haigsf I think was about ten
9:34
Speaker 3: years old, so he's really no idea what he's talking about.
9:36
Speaker 3: I was actually entering into the military in nineteen ninety,
9:40
Speaker 3: and I am so proud of my military service, not
9:43
Speaker 3: because of just serving, but because of something I felt
9:47
Speaker 3: like I was building. So the military at that time
9:51
Speaker 3: was not an incredibly welcoming place for women. I remember
9:55
Speaker 3: going to a breakfast with my parents. I was with
9:57
Speaker 3: my dad and that morning, so Washington Post had reported
10:01
Speaker 3: that a female that shipman had been chained to a
10:04
Speaker 3: urinal and a hazing event. The former Secretary of the
10:08
Speaker 3: Navy and future Senator Jim Webb had put out an
10:13
Speaker 3: article years before I entered, but it was still being
10:17
Speaker 3: widely circulated at the Naval Academy entitled women can't Fight,
10:20
Speaker 3: and it seemed to largely say because he wanted to
10:22
Speaker 3: go desecrate corpses without women around, that women shouldn't be
10:26
Speaker 3: part of these units. The Chief of Naval Operations, to
10:30
Speaker 3: a standing ovation, stood before the brigade and said, when
10:33
Speaker 3: asked when will women be serving on subs, he said,
10:37
Speaker 3: not in my lifetime. So it was a tough place.
10:40
Speaker 3: But I will say too, if you could show competence,
10:44
Speaker 3: if you could just fight hard, if you cared about
10:47
Speaker 3: your country, you could really make change in the Navy.
10:51
Speaker 3: And we did. By the time I graduated. I graduated
10:55
Speaker 3: with the first class of women eligible for combat on
10:58
Speaker 3: ships and aircraft. A classmate of mine was the CEO
11:01
Speaker 3: of an aircraft carrier. We just had a woman who
11:04
Speaker 3: was the superintendent of the Naval Academy, a woman who
11:06
Speaker 3: was the Chief of Naval Operations, the highest ranking women.
11:08
Speaker 3: And now Pete hag Seth is trying to drive out
11:11
Speaker 3: every woman in service, trying to roll back what we've built.
11:14
Speaker 3: What I feel like I have personally had a hand
11:16
Speaker 3: in building and so you know, it's a really crappy
11:20
Speaker 3: day for women in service with that incompetent sexually harassing,
11:25
Speaker 3: alcoholic alcoholic. Yeah, guy, as my kids would say, JINX
11:31
Speaker 3: really in charge of all this. So it's really offensive today.
11:34
Speaker 3: And I think you're exactly right. So it's important that
11:37
Speaker 3: we have more people serving our country, more women, more
11:42
Speaker 3: people of color, more people that represent the people of
11:45
Speaker 3: America so we can gain greater success.
11:48
Speaker 1: Yeah, we're recording this the day after Pete Hegseeth gave
11:52
Speaker 1: his speech to like five hundred generals and yesterday with
11:57
Speaker 1: Donald Trump. When you hear something like that and you
11:59
Speaker 1: know that this this is exactly the opposite, and it's
12:02
Speaker 1: so antithetical to your commitment to working, you know, in
12:06
Speaker 1: the Navy or in the armed forces. What is your
12:09
Speaker 1: responsibility to say the core so that you can protect
12:12
Speaker 1: you know, the people underneath you, or is your responsibility
12:15
Speaker 1: to stand upperside and walk out the door? Like how
12:17
Speaker 1: do you make that kind of decision? You know in
12:19
Speaker 1: that position.
12:21
Speaker 3: I speak to service members, I speak to people at
12:24
Speaker 3: the US Attorney's Office, I speak to a lot of
12:27
Speaker 3: people in other areas, of federal service about this all
12:31
Speaker 3: the time, because a lot of people have decided, whether
12:35
Speaker 3: it's in the FBI or at the US Attorney's office
12:38
Speaker 3: or in the military, that it is so important to
12:44
Speaker 3: have credible people there in some of these incredibly powerful
12:48
Speaker 3: organizations that impact people's life, impact people's liberty, whether or
12:52
Speaker 3: not they're detained, whether not they're unfairly prosecuted.
12:56
Speaker 2: And yet at what point do you become complicit?
12:59
Speaker 3: And I've had these kind of long conversations with people
13:03
Speaker 3: about how you weigh that, and it's a really difficult decision,
13:08
Speaker 3: and I think that's something each person's weighing themselves. Am
13:11
Speaker 3: I still doing good? Am I still protecting the people
13:13
Speaker 3: below me? Am I still protecting you as values?
13:16
Speaker 2: Or now?
13:16
Speaker 3: Am I just carrying out something that's really dangerous? And
13:19
Speaker 3: then I should not be a part of And those
13:21
Speaker 3: are really really difficult decisions to make right now.
13:24
Speaker 2: Yeah.
13:25
Speaker 1: I remember in the first Trump administration wondering what all
13:27
Speaker 1: those guys were doing there, you know what I mean,
13:30
Speaker 1: like Mark Millley and these other kind of senior advisors
13:33
Speaker 1: and chiefs of staff, all of these people, like how
13:36
Speaker 1: could they be supporting this guy? How could they be
13:37
Speaker 1: supporting and now in retrospect, when you hear all these
13:40
Speaker 1: guys come forward, you know, they're all like, oh, and
13:43
Speaker 1: even John Bolton, who you know, like, no, we were
13:45
Speaker 1: staying the ship. We were staying the ship.
13:47
Speaker 2: We would ever be saying like, oh, John Bolton.
13:50
Speaker 4: Yeah he was.
13:51
Speaker 1: He was actually doing a good job. He was doing
13:53
Speaker 1: a good thing. Because now you hear them and you're like, oh,
13:56
Speaker 1: now we're really in trouble because now he has this
13:59
Speaker 1: idiot Pete Heggs running our military, which is absolutely just
14:03
Speaker 1: a shanda. It's unbelievable. What is something that's very basic
14:08
Speaker 1: that you actually missed from your military days?
14:11
Speaker 3: I missing twenty and that was fun, but it truly
14:15
Speaker 3: was at that time such a time of the United
14:20
Speaker 3: States was in areas of the world that we traditionally
14:23
Speaker 3: hadn't been, and we'd been very focused on the fight
14:26
Speaker 3: with Russia and the Cold War, and so there had
14:29
Speaker 3: been some forces abroad. But I remember getting I really
14:34
Speaker 3: missed some of the foreign places that I served in
14:37
Speaker 3: and learning about different people, learning about different cultures, and
14:40
Speaker 3: doing so though with a bunch of other members of
14:44
Speaker 3: the service, there was a lot of camaraderie there and
14:46
Speaker 3: I remember just different experiences like that. I remember flying
14:50
Speaker 3: a helicopter and I was flying with another woman and
14:53
Speaker 3: the Saudi aircraft controllers would not believe that we were
14:56
Speaker 3: the pilots, so they said put the other pilot on,
14:59
Speaker 3: So I put her on, and then they said, you
15:00
Speaker 3: guys aren't pilots.
15:01
Speaker 2: And you know we're.
15:04
Speaker 1: Flying.
15:05
Speaker 2: There's really not sure what to do.
15:06
Speaker 3: Yeah, like, you know, we're the only two pilots on
15:09
Speaker 3: this aircraft right now. I don't have anyone else to
15:11
Speaker 3: put on the radio with you, you know. I remember
15:13
Speaker 3: serving in Bahrain, and I remember this experience where there
15:17
Speaker 3: were a bunch of expets. So they had this rugby
15:19
Speaker 3: game and I'm there's a fence and they're playing rugby,
15:22
Speaker 3: and then over the top of the fence, I'm seeing
15:24
Speaker 3: the humps of these camels just all kind of go.
15:27
Speaker 2: By, and it was this really weird contradiction.
15:30
Speaker 3: So I miss that kind of seeing the world and
15:34
Speaker 3: speaking to people about why, you know, I remember speaking
15:38
Speaker 3: to a Pakistani business owner about why he was in
15:41
Speaker 3: Bahrain and what had had brought him there, and all
15:44
Speaker 3: those kind of experiences I really miss.
15:46
Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean there must have been it must have
15:48
Speaker 1: been some things that you've taken with you, right from
15:50
Speaker 1: your experiences in the Middle East. In Europe. You were
15:54
Speaker 1: in London for a while. I don't think you were
15:56
Speaker 1: in London on service, right or no, you were, No,
15:58
Speaker 1: I was there service.
15:59
Speaker 3: Oh you were at the that was where the US
16:01
Speaker 3: headquarters of the European Fleet.
16:03
Speaker 2: I'm sorry the naval fleet was at the time.
16:06
Speaker 1: What was your impetus for going into the navy.
16:09
Speaker 3: So this is what I sort of warn parents sometimes, like,
16:14
Speaker 3: be very careful what you're saying to your children, because
16:16
Speaker 3: I was having this conversation with my dad when I
16:19
Speaker 3: was in the fifth grade, and I cannot emphasize enough
16:23
Speaker 3: that I am one thousand percent sure my father was
16:25
Speaker 3: paying zero attention to this conversation, like I think he was.
16:29
Speaker 2: He used to make his own Christmas tree stands.
16:32
Speaker 3: I have no idea why somebody wouldn't buy a Christmas
16:34
Speaker 3: tree stand because it was always this Really he was
16:37
Speaker 3: always like, you know, really angry about it because it
16:40
Speaker 3: never worked very well. And so you know, while you wuld'
16:42
Speaker 3: just been he would like be hammering these two by
16:44
Speaker 3: fours into the bottom of the tree to make this stand.
16:47
Speaker 3: So I'm out on there he's making this weird Christmas
16:49
Speaker 3: tree stand and he's hammering away and I'm talking to him,
16:53
Speaker 3: and he said, well, what do you want to do?
16:55
Speaker 3: And I said, you know, I want to be a
16:56
Speaker 3: pilot like Grandpa. And he said, oh, well that's really expense.
17:00
Speaker 3: If you want to fly, you have to go in
17:01
Speaker 3: the military. And I said, okay, well I'll go into
17:04
Speaker 3: the Air Force because my grandfather had been Army Air Corps.
17:07
Speaker 3: He goes, you don't want to go to the Air
17:08
Speaker 3: Force Academy. I mean, that's kind of new. You want
17:10
Speaker 3: to go to one of the cool ones. You either
17:12
Speaker 3: want to go to West Point or the Naval Academy.
17:14
Speaker 3: And I said, oh, I'm going to the Naval Academy.
17:16
Speaker 3: He said, well, I don't. I don't know if they have,
17:18
Speaker 3: you know, pilots, and I go, I'll find out. I said,
17:22
Speaker 3: you know, that's what I'm going to do. And he said, well,
17:23
Speaker 3: I don't think they take women. He said, I don't
17:26
Speaker 3: know if they take women, and I don't know if
17:27
Speaker 3: women fly in the Navy. And you know, this is
17:30
Speaker 3: kind of one of those things I talk a lot
17:32
Speaker 3: about with people around New Jersey because.
17:35
Speaker 2: To me, this is what we're fighting right now.
17:39
Speaker 3: Because when my father told me he didn't know if
17:42
Speaker 3: women could go to the Naval academy, or he didn't
17:44
Speaker 3: know if they could fly in the navy, I knew
17:48
Speaker 3: that I could figure out a pathway to that because
17:51
Speaker 3: everything I had been taught up until that point was
17:54
Speaker 3: that I could do anything, was that this country continued
17:57
Speaker 3: to open up opportunity. Whether it was my parents or
18:01
Speaker 3: my teachers, or I always tell people Schoolhouse Rock on
18:04
Speaker 3: Saturday Morning cartoons. I was told I could create these pathways,
18:08
Speaker 3: or that this country provided that kind of opportunity. And
18:13
Speaker 3: I just see all of that being attacked every single
18:18
Speaker 3: day by the Trump administration. So whether it's clearing women
18:22
Speaker 3: out of the military, clearing black service members' histories off
18:26
Speaker 3: of military websites, whether it is attacking healthcare or attacking pelgrants,
18:31
Speaker 3: or attacking all those programs we have so people can
18:34
Speaker 3: get more opportunity, attacking research and development, attacking every means
18:39
Speaker 3: of opportunity.
18:41
Speaker 2: And I just look at this and it just reminds
18:44
Speaker 2: me a lot of us.
18:45
Speaker 3: As we were coming up, there was I don't know
18:47
Speaker 3: if you remember, Madaline Albright said there's a certain place
18:50
Speaker 3: in hell for women who don't support other women. And
18:52
Speaker 3: I just remember sometimes coming up when it was so
18:55
Speaker 3: new to have women there, and you would say, Oh,
18:57
Speaker 3: the worst kind of person is somebody who climbs the
18:59
Speaker 3: ladder of sex and pulls that ladder up behind them.
19:02
Speaker 3: And here we're just seeing that in the Trump administration
19:08
Speaker 3: at every turn, in every way, capping opportunity right now
19:12
Speaker 3: for people.
19:13
Speaker 1: And what is your advice to our listeners for who
19:16
Speaker 1: are against this administration, who want to protest, Like, what
19:19
Speaker 1: are the most effective ways to demonstrate your right to
19:23
Speaker 1: speak out against this, like in your opinion?
19:27
Speaker 3: So I think about this a lot, as you can imagine,
19:30
Speaker 3: and I do think. You know, we have no Kings
19:32
Speaker 3: Day coming up, that's going to be very important. Get
19:34
Speaker 3: into the streets, advocate for the things you believe in.
19:38
Speaker 3: And I will tell you and your listeners are going
19:41
Speaker 3: to I'm a little biased, right. I'm in this tough
19:43
Speaker 3: race right now in New Jersey. But there are only
19:46
Speaker 3: two statewide races in the entire nation, in Virginia and
19:51
Speaker 3: New Jersey. And these two races could either be a
19:55
Speaker 3: huge mandate against the Trump administration, show that the people
19:59
Speaker 3: have New Jersey, the people of Virginia do not agree
20:02
Speaker 3: with where we are headed in this country, or they
20:06
Speaker 3: could give support to this administration. So you know, to
20:09
Speaker 3: the extent people have time, go to Mikey Cheryl dot com,
20:15
Speaker 3: sign up, come to New Jersey, come knock on doors,
20:18
Speaker 3: sign up for phone banking, text banking, chip in money.
20:21
Speaker 3: Because right now we are doing everything we can to
20:24
Speaker 3: get the word.
20:24
Speaker 2: Out on the campaign.
20:25
Speaker 3: So anything you can do right now in New Jersey,
20:29
Speaker 3: I think this is really the race setting the table
20:33
Speaker 3: for everything that's to come.
20:35
Speaker 1: Great, great, Okay, Well I will go and make a
20:37
Speaker 1: donation as well to Mikey Cheryl dot com right now
20:40
Speaker 1: as we speak. Mikey was wonderful speaking with you. Thank
20:43
Speaker 1: you so much for being here, and good luck with everything.

Speaker 1: And I will be there to campaign with you whenever
20:50

21:04
Speaker 4: Genuflecting to lower one's body briefly by bending one knee
21:08
Speaker 4: to the ground, typically in worship or as a sign
21:10
Speaker 4: of respect, used in a sentence. Swifty's thought Travis Kelcey
21:15
Speaker 4: was genuflecting to Taylor before realizing he was actually proposing genuflecting.
21:23
