- 0:28Dayna Roselli: Plus, a popular restaurant ad Sunday brunch, and we have some celebrity news with a Vegas twist.
- 0:34Sean McAllister: Vegas Revealed starts now.
- 0:40Sean McAllister: Welcome to Vegas Revealed Season 7, Episode 303.
- 0:45Sean McAllister: Sean McAllister and Dana Roselli here with you.
- 0:48Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we have a lot to talk about this week.
- 0:50Dayna Roselli: As usual, I was like, oh, should we do this podcast?
- 0:53Dayna Roselli: Do we have enough to talk about?
- 0:54Dayna Roselli: And then you start diving in and it's like endless.
- 0:56Sean McAllister: And there's plenty to talk about.
- 0:57Dayna Roselli: And we discovered something really cool that we didn't even know about before we found it and just wanted to chat about it for a minute.
- 1:04Dayna Roselli: I had no idea the International Fireworks Championship is coming to Las Vegas in February.
- 1:10Sean McAllister: How's that first starting the episode with a bang?
- 1:13Dayna Roselli: It's good stuff.
- 1:15Sean McAllister: This is uh we were like, wait a second, what is the National Fireworks Championship?
- 1:21Sean McAllister: I never heard of it before.
- 1:23Sean McAllister: So we looked it up.
- 1:24Sean McAllister: Apparently, it's uh traditionally been held in Traver City, Michigan, but this is the first time that they're breaking out of Michigan, coming here to Las Vegas, and having the championship at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
- 1:38Dayna Roselli: I know that that's gonna be really cool because apparently it's a whole day full of fireworks, and it's also gonna feature a world record attempt, which is even makes it more fun.
- 1:50Dayna Roselli: Just all sorts of good stuff's gonna be happening, and it's right there on the strip at the speedway, and that's kind of a section of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, not the circular track.
- 1:58Sean McAllister: Yeah, they're going to have uh a bunch of different uh seating options available.
- 2:03Sean McAllister: There's general admission, and they have, of course, since it's Vegas, there's like VIP uh boxes available too that have your food included, and then there's like the luxury suite uh uh level also where you can have like almost 40 people in there.
- 2:21Dayna Roselli: What time does it start?
- 2:22Dayna Roselli: Did you look that up?
- 2:23Sean McAllister: Oh, you know what?
- 2:24Dayna Roselli: Because I was just thinking, I said there's gonna be fireworks all day.
- 2:26Dayna Roselli: That might not be the case.
- 2:27Dayna Roselli: It just kind of rolled out of my mouth.
- 2:29Sean McAllister: Well, no, you know what?
- 2:30Sean McAllister: When since you said that, the tickets did say it was an all-day thing.
- 2:34Dayna Roselli: Yeah, maybe I got that because you were reading back from the website when we were researching it.
- 2:39Dayna Roselli: Standby, please.
- 2:40Dayna Roselli: Okay, but you know, four of the world's best fireworks teams are gonna compete in this, so you're gonna have at least four displays.
- 2:47Dayna Roselli: And I'm sure there's a lot more going on than just that.
- 2:50Dayna Roselli: But I'm excited about this.
- 2:52Dayna Roselli: It's February 21st, by the way.
- 2:54Dayna Roselli: That's a Saturday.
- 2:55Sean McAllister: And it's 2 30 p.m.
- 2:57Sean McAllister: until 8 30 p.m.
- 2:59Sean McAllister: So it is all afternoon.
- 3:01Sean McAllister: Um, I mean, I guess by the time four or five o'clock rolls around, it'll be dark enough to really see a bunch of the stuff go off.
- 3:09Sean McAllister: But um, it looks like there's a lot of uh uh more ground level uh pyrotechnics that take place as well.
- 3:19Dayna Roselli: That's cool, yeah.
- 3:20Dayna Roselli: I mean, I can't imagine.
- 3:21Dayna Roselli: I mean, we have some stunning displays here in Las Vegas, but when you get the big four world's best and you put them in one location, I can only imagine what it's gonna be like.
- 3:33Sean McAllister: When over the holidays, I don't know why it came up on my on my Instagram feed, but there was a a video that popped up of the world's largest firework.
- 3:43Sean McAllister: I think it was set off in Japan and it was gorgeous.
- 3:47Sean McAllister: I mean, it it was one of those big ones, it looks like a chandelier, like just dripping down, but it was massive, like filled up the sky of wherever it happened.
- 3:58Sean McAllister: Right.
- 3:58Dayna Roselli: We might have yeah, we might have to go to that.
- 4:01Dayna Roselli: We're we're like looking into it now.
- 4:02Dayna Roselli: We're like, okay, when is it?
- 4:04Dayna Roselli: Where?
- 4:04Dayna Roselli: What time?
- 4:05Dayna Roselli: So anyway, FYI, everyone.
- 4:07Dayna Roselli: I feel like nobody's been talking about this and it's a big deal.
- 4:11Dayna Roselli: So welcome to the international fireworks championship event that is coming.
- 4:17Dayna Roselli: It is a first time, first year event.
- 4:20Dayna Roselli: So excited for that.
- 4:21Sean McAllister: Yeah, hopefully uh that'll become an annual thing.
- 4:25Sean McAllister: Sorry, Trevor City, Michigan.
- 4:26Dayna Roselli: It's expected to attract thousands, by the way.
- 4:29Sean McAllister: Well, I hope so.
- 4:30Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 4:31Sean McAllister: So again, February uh 21st at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
- 4:35Sean McAllister: Lots of firework action happening uh from the afternoon into the night.
- 4:40Dayna Roselli: Well, the Laugh Factory is moving on up the strip.
- 4:44Dayna Roselli: They were at the Tropicana before it was imploded.
- 4:47Dayna Roselli: Uh and you know, it's an iconic comedy room event.
- 4:52Dayna Roselli: Theater.
- 4:53Sean McAllister: Yeah, well, the original Laugh Factory is in LA.
- 4:56Sean McAllister: And then they had a Las Vegas location, like you said, that opened at the Trop.
- 5:00Sean McAllister: Um, and it's been a little kind of homeless.
- 5:03Sean McAllister: I know.
- 5:04Sean McAllister: Ever since the Trop went away.
- 5:05Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so it's uh partnering with the Horseshoe and gonna open in February at some point toward the end of February, I believe it is.
- 5:13Dayna Roselli: But the comedy club is going to rebrand the 250-seat Imagine Showroom at Horseshoe as the new La Factory, Las Vegas Theater.
- 5:23Dayna Roselli: The opening is set for uh February with a grand opening celebration scheduled for President's Day weekend.
- 5:29Dayna Roselli: And to kick it off, they have uh comedian Brett Ernst, known for his work on the hit Netflix show Cobra Kai, headlining it's soft opening weekend, January 29th to February 1st.
- 5:44Sean McAllister: Yeah, and then uh there's going to be viral sensation concrete.
- 5:49Sean McAllister: Do you know concrete?
- 5:50Sean McAllister: I don't.
- 5:51Sean McAllister: I don't know concrete either, but a lot of people online do.
- 5:54Sean McAllister: And concrete is gonna take the stage for a mini residency over the grand opening, which is February 12th through the 15th.
- 6:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah, okay.
- 6:03Dayna Roselli: So a lot coming up.
- 6:05Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 6:05Dayna Roselli: I saw some pictures that they sent over of what it's gonna look like, and that that's a nice theater.
- 6:10Dayna Roselli: I think it's gonna be great because let's just be honest, now that the Tropicana's gone, we can talk about it.
- 6:14Dayna Roselli: The Laug Factory at Tropicana was not the nicest room.
- 6:19Sean McAllister: Well, I mean, the entire property had seen better days.
- 6:23Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 6:23Dayna Roselli: So I think this laugh factory refresh and moving over to horseshoe is gonna be nice.
- 6:28Sean McAllister: They have and uh they've made a lot of upgrades over at horseshoe too.
- 6:31Sean McAllister: Even walking through the casino floor, it's really nice.
- 6:34Dayna Roselli: Oh, okay.
- 6:34Dayna Roselli: Were you over there recently?
- 6:35Sean McAllister: I was, yeah.
- 6:36Sean McAllister: I've bet I was just over there uh right around NFR.
- 6:41Sean McAllister: So I guess beginning of December.
- 6:44Sean McAllister: Um and I've been over there a few times, and it's it's nice.
- 6:48Dayna Roselli: Good, good.
- 6:49Dayna Roselli: Hey, listen, let's talk about another rebrand, uh, refresh, I should say.
- 6:54Dayna Roselli: Um, and this is an actual rebrand.
- 6:56Dayna Roselli: We talk a lot, I feel like, here on the podcast and in the TV show about JW Marriott and Rampart Casino out in the west side of Las Vegas in the Summerlin area.
- 7:06Dayna Roselli: And I felt like, and maybe I'm wrong, I don't know where the name changed, but I knew that they were doing so so many renovations and refreshes within the property.
- 7:17Dayna Roselli: But um, as of the new year, it's now called the Resort at Summerlin, and it's a property-wide rebrand and renovation.
- 7:26Sean McAllister: Yeah, because the JW Marriott and um the Rampart Casino, like they're connected.
- 7:34Sean McAllister: So it was a little confusing when you heard the two different names.
- 7:39Sean McAllister: Um it's essentially one big building.
- 7:42Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 7:43Sean McAllister: So it makes sense that it would be under one name.
- 7:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so that'll it definitely makes more sense.
- 7:49Dayna Roselli: And I like the name, the resort at Summerlin.
- 7:51Dayna Roselli: Yeah, beautiful.
- 7:51Sean McAllister: That's cool.
- 7:52Dayna Roselli: You know, it sounds very luxurious, sounds like they've got a lot going on there.
- 7:55Dayna Roselli: Um, they've been doing this ongoing$75 million multi-year renovation.
- 8:00Dayna Roselli: Um, and yeah, they're they're calling it now like more of a luxury destination right there in the heart of Summerlin.
- 8:06Dayna Roselli: And so they have great restaurants.
- 8:07Dayna Roselli: We walk through there sometimes for shoots.
- 8:09Dayna Roselli: We recently did one at iPotsy, and we always say it's it's a nice hotel.
- 8:14Dayna Roselli: It's a nice off-strip hotel casino.
- 8:17Sean McAllister: Yeah, they've added new places over there, they're refreshing existing uh locations.
- 8:22Sean McAllister: So uh that's gonna be great.
- 8:24Sean McAllister: The resort at Summerlin is now welcoming you.
- 8:29Dayna Roselli: Hey, if you love ice cream, uh I've heard of Salt and Straw, I've never had it, but we now have two brand new ice cream shops on the Las Vegas strip.
- 8:40Dayna Roselli: Apparently, it's an artisan ice cream brand.
- 8:44Dayna Roselli: Um, so the two shops are partnering with uh Caesars Entertainment.
- 8:48Dayna Roselli: So what do I?
- 8:49Dayna Roselli: It's at the uh Paris and also the Flamingo.
- 8:52Dayna Roselli: And the shop there at the Paris is right at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.
- 8:58Dayna Roselli: And apparently they change up the menu every now and then with rotating different flavors, but then they have their like you know regulars as well.
- 9:05Sean McAllister: Staples, yeah.
- 9:07Sean McAllister: Do you are you ready for some of the staples?
- 9:09Dayna Roselli: Yeah, let's hear it.
- 9:09Sean McAllister: Okay, so there's um sea salt with caramel ribbons.
- 9:13Sean McAllister: Ooh, that sounds good.
- 9:14Sean McAllister: Honey lavender.
- 9:16Dayna Roselli: Oh, lavender's popular.
- 9:17Dayna Roselli: They have a lot of like lavender coffees now or lattes.
- 9:20Sean McAllister: That has become really popular.
- 9:22Sean McAllister: Yeah, I love the scent, but it is interesting that the flavor of lavender is yeah, making its way into stuff.
- 9:29Sean McAllister: Uh, there's chocolate gooey brownie.
- 9:31Dayna Roselli: Okay, that sounds good.
- 9:32Sean McAllister: That'll be delicious.
- 9:34Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 9:34Sean McAllister: And a ton of other uh flavors as well.
- 9:37Sean McAllister: And like you said, they change up the menu monthly, so there's always a reason to go back.
- 9:43Dayna Roselli: Yeah, sounds pretty good.
- 9:45Dayna Roselli: Artisan ice cream, I love that.
- 9:47Sean McAllister: Hey, you know, we were just talking about the Tropicana that was imploded, the site leveled, um, but it's not leveled anymore because the work on the A's baseball stadium is really underway.
- 10:02Sean McAllister: We were just looking at the the live camera of the construction site the other day, and it's remarkable how much it's starting to look like a baseball stadium now.
- 10:13Dayna Roselli: It is really cool to watch.
- 10:14Dayna Roselli: And then we found a time lapse, and that was even cooler.
- 10:17Sean McAllister: It was just go from flat dirt to you know, the stuff is rising up out of the ground.
- 10:22Sean McAllister: You're gonna be able to see uh the work that they're doing rise above those construction fences really soon, if you can't already.
- 10:31Sean McAllister: Um, but in advance of uh that baseball stadium opening, uh, it's supposed to be ready for the 2028 Major League Baseball Season to welcome the Las Vegas A's.
- 10:43Sean McAllister: Uh, the team has opened a Stadium Experience Center over at Uncommons.
- 10:50Sean McAllister: And we stopped in there to see what everything is about.
- 10:53Sean McAllister: We talked with John Robertson, who is the CEO of Advent, and that's the company that put this experience together.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: You are here in the Las Vegas A's Experience Center.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: The purpose of the Experience Center is to bring to life all the excitement that is gonna be Las Vegas baseball for the Las Vegas A's.
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: The giant elephant.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: The elephant is reminiscent of the mascot that is the Las Vegas A's.
- 11:27SPEAKER_00: And you can go around the corner and you can take a baseball map and you can tap it on the plate, and you can bring to life an iconic moment in A's history.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: You can see the scale model of the stadium, you can see behind it on the social media feedback what fans are studying about the A's.
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: You can see the World Series championship trophies, you can see some of your iconic players in the maybe the the crown jewel is this immersive cube that allow you to imagine any space within the stadium, all the luxury spaces with the stadium.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: Uh even visualize what it'd be like to stand on the plane or stand on the strip.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: It allows us to take you into the future, but it brings it into now.
- 12:09SPEAKER_00: This is the first premiere of the immersive cube technology.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: It's a patent pending technology.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: It's a 270-degree immersion.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: This has 26 million pixels.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: So it has more pixels inside the cube than on the outside of the sphere.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: But it's meant to give you crystal clarity as to the views to your proximity to the airport.
- 12:33SPEAKER_00: Proximity to the strip.
- 12:35SPEAKER_00: It helps you really understand how the baseball fits into the landscape of the community.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: All of us are captivated by the emotion.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: That's what fandom and tribalism is all about.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: So we have to program in a space like this.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: Emotion.
- 12:51SPEAKER_00: It lets you see and feel and uh lets you bring these moments and spaces to life.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: Uh, and it just makes you remember, just like you were as a little child, the wow that comes from being a prof part of your first pro baseball game.
- 13:06Dayna Roselli: And now I think you went over there actually during the Thanksgiving holiday.
- 13:09Dayna Roselli: I wasn't here, so I didn't go.
- 13:11Dayna Roselli: You said you you thought that virtual cube or whatever was really cool.
- 13:16Sean McAllister: Yeah, this cube technology that you just heard John talking about, uh it is really neat.
- 13:21Sean McAllister: So you s it's almost like a mini sphere inside of this uh space.
- 13:28Sean McAllister: So you step inside of the cube, you take your shoes off because you're actually standing on uh the screen once you're inside there.
- 13:37Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 13:37Sean McAllister: So basically it's everything around you except for your back.
- 13:43Sean McAllister: Everything, you know, your your back isn't gonna obviously see anything.
- 13:47Sean McAllister: So uh your peripheral vision, your your forward vision, everything is kind of encapsulated inside of this uh cube, and they can put different um uh scenes.
- 14:00Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I think.
- 14:01Dayna Roselli: You can see from your seat, like if you were to buy this seat, could you see where what your view would be?
- 14:05Sean McAllister: You could see what your view is going to be if you're going to be a seasoned ticket holder from your seat, or if you're going to uh have one of the luxury boxes at the stadium.
- 14:16Sean McAllister: You'll be able to see that.
- 14:17Sean McAllister: You can they can put you on home plate so you can see what the pitcher sees.
- 14:23SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 14:24Sean McAllister: You can be home uh sorry, the the pitcher's mound is uh where you'll see what the pitcher sees.
- 14:30Sean McAllister: The home plate, you can see that view.
- 14:32Sean McAllister: They can zoom out and uh show you kind of an aerial perspective so you can see how the stadium fits into the entire skyline of Las Vegas.
- 14:42Sean McAllister: Um it's uh super cool.
- 14:44Sean McAllister: Uh if go to our Vegas Revealed YouTube channel, we've put a a video story together to uh help you visualize what this visual experience is like.
- 14:56Sean McAllister: Um, they even have a vending machine in there where you can personalize an A's baseball.
- 15:02Sean McAllister: So that'll you just punch in your stuff and it'll do something to the ball and spit it out.
- 15:08Dayna Roselli: Cool.
- 15:09Dayna Roselli: I mean, they've really invested a lot.
- 15:10Dayna Roselli: I mean, they've been doing a lot of stuff in the community, they open this center, they've been really giving the media tours an access to the construction site.
- 15:20Dayna Roselli: I know a lot of people still go back and forth on the socials saying it's never gonna happen, it is gonna happen, it's not gonna happen.
- 15:27Dayna Roselli: I mean, I don't know, but it's moving along at a pretty fast pace in my eyes.
- 15:32Dayna Roselli: But yeah, I mean, it looks like things are full steam ahead.
- 15:37Sean McAllister: So I mean the A's president Mark Bedain was over there.
- 15:40Sean McAllister: I talked to him uh at the preview center, uh, John Fisher, the owner of the team, he was over there.
- 15:46Sean McAllister: So there really has been a huge investment um by the team into Las Vegas already, even though they're not here yet.
- 15:54Sean McAllister: And you know, all the naysayers I gotta say it's moving right along, and there are not really signs that it's gonna stop moving along.
- 16:05Sean McAllister: So yeah, I don't know.
- 16:07Dayna Roselli: We'll see.
- 16:09Dayna Roselli: We can only do and report on and go with what we visually see and what we have been told when we go to these uh assignments.
- 16:18Sean McAllister: So and you know what else I will say?
- 16:20Sean McAllister: It's much easier to be positive.
- 16:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 16:22Dayna Roselli: Like because I want the stadium to be built.
- 16:24Dayna Roselli: I think it's cool to have it's gonna be the first stadium that actually sits on the Las Vegas strip.
- 16:30Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 16:30Dayna Roselli: First, I mean, because even we have arenas, they're just set back just a teen teeny little bit, but this is like right there in the corner.
- 16:36Dayna Roselli: It's gonna be great.
- 16:37Sean McAllister: Yeah, right at the corner of Tropicana and Las Vegas Boulevard.
- 16:40Sean McAllister: Um, and you know, as they build out, as they have plans to build out uh an entertainment, dining, retail complex uh from the sidewalk of the strip leading back to the stadium.
- 16:54Sean McAllister: Um, I mean, that's that'll draw in a lot of foot traffic.
- 16:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it really will.
- 16:59Dayna Roselli: And it's right there next to MGM Grand, which is a great transition into this next story we're gonna talk about.
- 17:06Dayna Roselli: A longtime restaurant at MGM Grand, just got a big refresh.
- 17:11Sean McAllister: This is uh Las Vegas Re Via.
- 17:15Dayna Roselli: That's Iron Chef Morimoto.
- 17:18Dayna Roselli: We had a great time with him.
- 17:20Dayna Roselli: He showed us the new restaurant refresh.
- 17:23Dayna Roselli: You were back there making sushi with him, which was such an honor.
- 17:27Sean McAllister: He taught me how to make a sushi roll.
- 17:30Dayna Roselli: That was cool to me.
- 17:31Sean McAllister: Morimoto style.
- 17:33Dayna Roselli: I mean, that was a process.
- 17:35Sean McAllister: It was a process.
- 17:36Dayna Roselli: I didn't expect well, I knew it would be like, you know, very intricate, but wow, it was cool to watch him in action and watching him teach you.
- 17:44Dayna Roselli: And and we had the role after it was delicious.
- 17:47Dayna Roselli: The land and sea.
- 17:48Sean McAllister: Yeah, so that which is one of the new uh roles on the menu.
- 17:53Sean McAllister: Um, it's good.
- 17:55Dayna Roselli: It really was good.
- 17:56Dayna Roselli: It's a beautiful restaurant.
- 17:58Dayna Roselli: So we, you know, talked with him, and you can watch uh this in our one of our TV episodes on our YouTube, um, where you can actually see Sean back there and and all that.
- 18:08Dayna Roselli: But um, we just want to know like, what's the deal?
- 18:10Dayna Roselli: What's the deal with the refresh?
- 18:12Dayna Roselli: And and he was telling us that um, you know, some people come to Vegas to gamble, and that is it, hey, it's a gambling town and enjoy that.
- 18:19Dayna Roselli: But he said sometimes, you know, and we welcome gamblers, but sometimes people just actually come to try restaurants, have a good time, go out for drinks.
- 18:27Dayna Roselli: And he wanted to, you know, do a refresh at his restaurant there at MGM Grand to welcome more people.
- 18:35Dayna Roselli: He built like a sushi counter and uh just a really cool, like when you walk in, what would you call it?
- 18:41Dayna Roselli: Not like a little tunnel entrance.
- 18:42Dayna Roselli: Yeah, yeah.
- 18:43Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's beautiful.
- 18:44Sean McAllister: It it is, and they redesigned the inside to kind of evoke the same spirit and colors of Tokyo nightlife.
- 18:52SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 18:52Sean McAllister: So it's kind of uh the the whole vibe is kind of designed to bring in a younger crowd.
- 19:00Sean McAllister: Yeah, you know, who can, you know, groups of younger people who can go in, have a great meal, uh, have a great environment, and they do some really fun uh table side presentations that you don't really get at other sushi restaurants.
- 19:18Sean McAllister: As a matter of fact, the roll that we made came in a a smoker box.
- 19:22Sean McAllister: You know how they have those boxes for uh an old fashioned where they smoke the old fashioned?
- 19:27SPEAKER_02: That was cool.
- 19:27Sean McAllister: Yeah, this is kind of a longer version of that where they slide the the plate of the roll inside of it and then smoke it.
- 19:35Dayna Roselli: I mean, that's a thing, because it's all about uh the Instagram video you're gonna get.
- 19:40Sean McAllister: It is well in another I mean, for that same role, uh Chef Morimoto used a blowtorch.
- 19:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I did.
- 19:48Sean McAllister: Because there was a a piece of uh wagyu beef that that's on there, and he took the torch to it.
- 19:54Sean McAllister: I was like, whoa, chef, I didn't know that there were like torches involved in sushi making.
- 19:59Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean, I know because it's all it is.
- 20:02Dayna Roselli: It's the you know, and Vegas is part of being in Vegas is everything's a show.
- 20:06Sean McAllister: It's true.
- 20:07Dayna Roselli: You get the Vegas show, and I think they did something with the desserts too, the dessert presentation.
- 20:11Dayna Roselli: So it's beautiful in there.
- 20:12Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 20:13Dayna Roselli: I think it's gonna be great.
- 20:14Dayna Roselli: Um, and I know he's really excited about it.
- 20:17Dayna Roselli: They've got an octopus on the menu now, too.
- 20:19Sean McAllister: Yes, the octopus carpaccio.
- 20:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that looked good.
- 20:22Dayna Roselli: We didn't try that, but we definitely need to.
- 20:24Dayna Roselli: I love octopus.
- 20:25Dayna Roselli: It's delicious.
- 20:26Sean McAllister: And this is the the 10-year anniversary of Morimoto over at MGM Grand.
- 20:32Sean McAllister: So uh a new era as this refresh is uh set to welcome everyone who who stops in for a really great meal.
- 20:41Sean McAllister: And I will say they have some incredibly fresh uh fresh selections.
- 20:47Sean McAllister: I've eaten there before several times, and it's always delicious.
- 20:51Dayna Roselli: Sounds great.
- 20:53Dayna Roselli: All right, listen, Nobu is also very popular.
- 20:55Dayna Roselli: That's at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, well, one of them anyway, and they are launching a Sunday brunch.
- 21:00Dayna Roselli: So just thought we would throw that in there because I know a lot of you love Nobu as well.
- 21:04Dayna Roselli: Um, it's now available weekly, and apparently the brunch experience features a curated$65 prefix menu.
- 21:14Dayna Roselli: So they have it Sundays from 11 to 2, might be an option if you wanted to try Nobu.
- 21:19Sean McAllister: That's a great deal, isn't it?
- 21:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I thought, oh, that's a good, and you know, this is at Virgin, which we've talked to before about before, that really needs to get the foot traffic in there.
- 21:30Dayna Roselli: You need a reason to go over to Virgin, and I think they're trying their best to get people in the door, and then they'll realize what a nice property it is.
- 21:37Sean McAllister: Yeah, and uh Nobu has been over there.
- 21:39Sean McAllister: That was the original Nobu that came to Las Vegas, and um still there, still doing well.
- 21:46Sean McAllister: And what a great uh different kind of brunch option.
- 21:52Sean McAllister: You know, that to get away from the typical breakfast stuff.
- 21:55Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it kind of gets old sometimes.
- 21:57Dayna Roselli: I know just like the Sunday brunch had its Moment.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: And I know it's a thing still, but I don't think it it's I think it's faded a little.
- 22:05Dayna Roselli: People have kind of taken their Sundays back.
- 22:07Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 22:08Sean McAllister: I think you're right.
- 22:09Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 22:10Dayna Roselli: But this is something different.
- 22:11Dayna Roselli: I feel like it's more of an occasion.
- 22:12Dayna Roselli: You know what I mean?
- 22:13Dayna Roselli: Because you're you're not going for that, like you said, like the eggs and I mean, listen, that's all great too.
- 22:19Dayna Roselli: Um, but the entrees that you get to choose from on this menu look great.
- 22:24Dayna Roselli: And there are there's a steak and egg on here.
- 22:27Dayna Roselli: It was one of the choices.
- 22:29Sean McAllister: But you're not gonna get like a stack of pancakes or the French toast.
- 22:33Dayna Roselli: No, it's the Australian Wai Goo ribeye sunny side up egg.
- 22:37Dayna Roselli: Steak and egg.
- 22:38Sean McAllister: See, that's that's my kind of thing.
- 22:40Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 22:40Sean McAllister: And with this, you don't leave feeling like heavy and full.
- 22:44Sean McAllister: And I feel like with some other brunch options, that's what that's what happens.
- 22:49Sean McAllister: And you don't want that on your Sunday.
- 22:51Dayna Roselli: I mean, this is a if you look at this, you get like an app, and then you get a choice of entree, and then you get a choice of dessert for 65 bucks.
- 23:00Sean McAllister: And it's all really good stuff.
- 23:02Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 23:03Dayna Roselli: So anyway, I think that's a great idea over at Nobu.
- 23:07Sean McAllister: Hey, uh, we launched uh a new segment in the show last week.
- 23:13Sean McAllister: It's called Celebrity News with a twist.
- 23:15Dayna Roselli: Vegas twist.
- 23:16Sean McAllister: Vegas twist.
- 23:18Sean McAllister: And we have more of it for you right now.
- 23:20Dayna Roselli: We sure do.
- 23:23Dayna Roselli: So I went back to the old like hype song to talk about the intro music to this segment because I tried to change it up last week and I was like, you know what?
- 23:33Dayna Roselli: Just not hitting.
- 23:34Dayna Roselli: I'm going with the old standard, even though we used to do tips.
- 23:36Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 23:38Dayna Roselli: I still have a little cold.
- 23:40Dayna Roselli: Sorry again, everyone.
- 23:40Dayna Roselli: I don't have a cold.
- 23:41Dayna Roselli: The thing is, I feel amazing, but you know when that sinus stuff just sits sits there and lingers for weeks and weeks.
- 23:47Sean McAllister: Yeah, well, my husband went back to is you know back in the office for work now.
- 23:52Sean McAllister: And as he was talking to people who had a cold even before the holiday break, they're still uh dealing with the the after effects of it.
- 24:03Sean McAllister: And I feel like anyone who's gotten sick over the holiday time, that there it's just there's something that is not going away.
- 24:12Dayna Roselli: No, it's not loosening up.
- 24:13Dayna Roselli: But I'm thankful I didn't have the flu or COVID or any of the really, really bad stuff because I've been seeing a lot of people talk about stomach bugs and uh some going to urgent care and so knock on wood.
- 24:24Dayna Roselli: Both of us.
- 24:25Sean McAllister: It's so funny.
- 24:26Sean McAllister: We'll we'll get to celebrity news with a Vegas twist in just a second, but I saw uh one of those nationwide uh illness maps that showed like 48 states in in the US are having like high cases of flu, and it was like all red, and then Nevada was gray.
- 24:46Sean McAllister: I was like, well done, Nevada.
- 24:47Dayna Roselli: I know, but here's why, because I deep dived into that.
- 24:50Dayna Roselli: I found it very interesting.
- 24:51Dayna Roselli: And if you read down at the bottom, they didn't have enough reporting from Nevada, which I feel like, like you're saying in the world of social media when you're just scrolling, I thought the same thing.
- 25:01Dayna Roselli: Like Nevada was the only place that didn't have the flu.
- 25:04Dayna Roselli: But so, and then people were all in the comments, like, hey, take me to Nevada.
- 25:08Dayna Roselli: And it's like, well, if you if you read down at the very bottom, it said they didn't have full reporting or they weren't getting data from us.
- 25:15Sean McAllister: Is that a tourism tactic?
- 25:17Sean McAllister: I don't know.
- 25:17Sean McAllister: To make people want to come here.
- 25:19Dayna Roselli: But that's the thing.
- 25:19Dayna Roselli: How many people are gonna scroll to the end?
- 25:21Dayna Roselli: Not very many, because that's the world we live in, and so hey, Nevada looks like the place you want to be.
- 25:26Sean McAllister: See?
- 25:27Sean McAllister: So the headline reader over here didn't get to the bottom either.
- 25:31Dayna Roselli: It was a long caption.
- 25:33Dayna Roselli: Um, all right, celebrity news with a Vegas twist.
- 25:35Dayna Roselli: Both of you, uh both you and I went to two separate sporting events, and both times the Backstreet Boys were there.
- 25:44Sean McAllister: Those Backstreet Boys, let me tell you, they're now back at Sphere with their 2026 shows underway.
- 25:50Sean McAllister: They rang in the new year, did a big countdown inside of Sphere.
- 25:54Sean McAllister: And when those guys are here performing, they are out and about everywhere.
- 26:00Sean McAllister: They're not those entertainers who just go to the show and stay hidden away in their off time.
- 26:07Sean McAllister: They're all over the place.
- 26:08Sean McAllister: Uh, when I went to the Golden Knights game, it was Backstreet Boys Night.
- 26:13Dayna Roselli: Uh-huh.
- 26:13Sean McAllister: You know, they um rang the you don't ring the siren, you know.
- 26:17Dayna Roselli: Like Frank the Siren, yeah.
- 26:18Sean McAllister: Frank the the siren up at the fortress, and they got everyone pumped up.
- 26:23Sean McAllister: Then we were watching uh the guys up in their up in the box in the suite where they were watching the game.
- 26:30Sean McAllister: They had Chance, the mascot, the Gila Monster mascot was up there.
- 26:34Sean McAllister: People were popping in, taking pictures with them.
- 26:37Sean McAllister: And then there was Backstreet Boys trivia.
- 26:39Sean McAllister: It was a whole night.
- 26:40Sean McAllister: It was a whole thing.
- 26:41Sean McAllister: There were special jerseys, BSB hockey they had.
- 26:45Sean McAllister: Um, so it was great.
- 26:47Sean McAllister: It was great to see the guys out there.
- 26:49Sean McAllister: It was great to see Backstreet Boys fans out there for the game, too.
- 26:53Dayna Roselli: That is cool.
- 26:54Dayna Roselli: Now, when I went to the Raiders game recently, Raiders, Kansas City, I told you last week I went to the Giants game.
- 26:59Dayna Roselli: Well, I went back again the next weekend um because I had so much fun the first time.
- 27:03Dayna Roselli: Um, but um, we got great seats because a friend was trying to get rid of some tickets, gave them to me and my other friend really, really cheap, and we were kind of bored on that Sunday afternoon.
- 27:11Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, hey, let's go see Kansas City and Raiders.
- 27:14Dayna Roselli: This Travis Kelsey's could be his last game ever again, and maybe the Raiders will win and all sorts of stuff.
- 27:20Dayna Roselli: So anyway, but when we went, you know, obviously it wasn't a planned night for day for Backstreet Boys at all, but they just happened to be there.
- 27:26Dayna Roselli: So I thought that was cool.
- 27:27Dayna Roselli: Only two of them.
- 27:28Dayna Roselli: Um, on the Jumbotron, Brian Latrell.
- 27:30Dayna Roselli: They showed him on the Jumbotron.
- 27:32Dayna Roselli: Everyone went crazy.
- 27:33Dayna Roselli: Um, he was sitting there watching the game, and then Kevin was there too.
- 27:37Dayna Roselli: And um Kevin, I think, is a Kansas City fan.
- 27:40Dayna Roselli: Oh, I think they showed a picture of him.
- 27:42Dayna Roselli: Kevin Richardson?
- 27:42Dayna Roselli: Yeah, Kevin Richardson with a red hat on, red, you know, baseball hat on.
- 27:47Sean McAllister: Well, wrong color if you're rooting for the Raiders.
- 27:49Dayna Roselli: So he was probably Kansas City.
- 27:52Dayna Roselli: But anyway, they were there.
- 27:53Dayna Roselli: That was great.
- 27:53Dayna Roselli: Third Eye Blind performed halftime, which was fun.
- 27:56Sean McAllister: And another celebrity sighting, it looked like you had the coach of the Kansas City Chiefs sitting right in front of you.
- 28:04Dayna Roselli: There was a lot of look-alikes.
- 28:06Dayna Roselli: And Andy, we had an Andy Reed look-alike right next to us.
- 28:09Dayna Roselli: I put it on my story.
- 28:11Dayna Roselli: I need to post it on my social media.
- 28:13Dayna Roselli: And it was hilarious.
- 28:14Dayna Roselli: Everyone was taking pictures.
- 28:15Dayna Roselli: I mean, even the ushers that were like sitting there, kind of monitoring each area, were like laughing hysterically.
- 28:21Sean McAllister: I mean, he's a good look-alike.
- 28:23Sean McAllister: I think he's probably the same guy that we've seen on you know, Super Bowl coverage and the on the national news too.
- 28:31Dayna Roselli: It was hilarious.
- 28:32Dayna Roselli: I was like, and then because we were second row, we were behind Kansas City.
- 28:37Dayna Roselli: And so I was staring at Coach Reed and then looking right down to the left, and I'm going, this guy's like the spit image.
- 28:44Dayna Roselli: So that was really funny.
- 28:45Dayna Roselli: And uh, you know, celebrity news with a Vegas twist wouldn't be that way if we didn't include Travis Kelsey, uh, the fiance of Taylor Swift.
- 28:53SPEAKER_03: The fiance.
- 28:54Dayna Roselli: Um, but anyway, I felt bad, you know, it was it's Travis, it's interesting because when they uh had the Super Bowl here in Vegas, you and I were around Travis a lot.
- 29:04Dayna Roselli: He was dating Taylor Swift at the time.
- 29:06Dayna Roselli: He's great with the media, a very personable guy.
- 29:10Dayna Roselli: Um, so seeing him again, I was like, oh, it just feels like I'm going back to the Super Bowl.
- 29:13Dayna Roselli: Hey, what up, Trav?
- 29:14Dayna Roselli: Yeah, what up, Trav.
- 29:15Dayna Roselli: Um, but it was fun.
- 29:16Dayna Roselli: Of course, I got some video of him because it does really well on the TikToks.
- 29:20Dayna Roselli: Um, but anyway, um he seemed grumpy.
- 29:24Dayna Roselli: And I I think it's because A, they aren't doing well, B, they didn't have the best season, C, they didn't have the best game.
- 29:32Dayna Roselli: And then also that his buddy Patrick Mahomes was out.
- 29:35Sean McAllister: So Yeah, well, when you get toward the end of the season, obviously there's injuries to deal with, and then also teams uh end up benching their uh, you know, their starters because you don't want injuries going into the offseason if uh you already have a losing season anyway.
- 29:57Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 29:58Dayna Roselli: It's tough to keep well, you know, they won a bunch of Super Bowls.
- 30:02Sean McAllister: They did I they've had quite the run.
- 30:04Dayna Roselli: It's hard.
- 30:05Sean McAllister: There's not anything to be really sad about.
- 30:07Dayna Roselli: There's nothing to be sad.
- 30:08Dayna Roselli: It's such a weird it isn't it weird when you're used to being a winner and then you don't get that far.
- 30:15Dayna Roselli: It's like you just look back and laugh, just be like, oh my god, but what I have like two Super Bowl rings.
- 30:20Dayna Roselli: Like nobody, you know, so many people don't have that, but it's still you get used to winning.
- 30:24Sean McAllister: But there's also all the speculation about whether Travis is going to retire or not.
- 30:29Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 30:29Dayna Roselli: So I think he was trying to keep the straight face on.
- 30:31Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 30:32Dayna Roselli: Taylor was not there.
- 30:32Dayna Roselli: People kept asking.
- 30:33Dayna Roselli: And I then I was, I, when I was on my way there, I was like, you know, Taylor hasn't gone to a lot of games.
- 30:38Dayna Roselli: And then someone said to me, Yeah, she hasn't been going to any of the away games.
- 30:43Dayna Roselli: And I thought, oh, okay.
- 30:44Dayna Roselli: And I know, like, in the docuseries I watched, like, you know, they try to do a lot of things together, but also for him to have his moments and her to have hers, and they probably didn't want to create speculation.
- 30:55Dayna Roselli: Then I also think there's a lot of safety things going on.
- 30:57Dayna Roselli: And when you go to a stadium to watch your fiance play that isn't in Kansas City where they're used to having her around and used to her being a regular, you gotta gotta change the whole security plan and maybe maybe it just becomes a whole thing in every city, every other city outside of Kansas City.
- 31:15Sean McAllister: Well, it probably becomes expensive.
- 31:18Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 31:19Sean McAllister: If there's you know she's a high profile individual.
- 31:22Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 31:22Sean McAllister: Not uh I won't say on the same level as you know, the president, that's a whole other level of of stuff.
- 31:30Sean McAllister: But you know, when the president goes to things, there's special security protocols that go into place.
- 31:36Sean McAllister: And I have to imagine it's gotta be similar, again, not to the same level, but a similar kind of thing for Taylor.
- 31:44Sean McAllister: I mean, there's extra personnel that are that need to be involved that might be uh pulled away from other duties to take care of that situation.
- 31:54Sean McAllister: So uh she may not go to these away games out of like knowing that that's required.
- 32:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah, or and also like uh I'm like I she doesn't want to be a hassle.
- 32:05unknown: Right.
- 32:05Sean McAllister: You know what I mean?
- 32:06Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 32:06Sean McAllister: Yes, a hundred percent.
- 32:08Dayna Roselli: And sometimes it's fun to watch at home, but anyway, it was good to see a Trav.
- 32:12Dayna Roselli: I don't think um, I don't think he's gonna retire.
- 32:16Dayna Roselli: That's my personal takeaway.
- 32:17Dayna Roselli: We'll have to see in the end.
- 32:18Dayna Roselli: A lot of people do think that.
- 32:19Dayna Roselli: I just feel like I don't know, he needs another season in him, and I think he loves it too much.
- 32:24Sean McAllister: Well, he definitely loves it.
- 32:25Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's like I don't know.
- 32:26Sean McAllister: And especially if it's with the group of guys that he's been playing with.
- 32:30Dayna Roselli: Well, and then people, you know, that interview him or ask him about it, it's like, well, you already have your Super Bowl ring.
- 32:34Dayna Roselli: It's like, yeah, but then that's the thing.
- 32:36Dayna Roselli: He already has him, so why not just play because you love it?
- 32:39Dayna Roselli: And that's like an honor to be able to play and not have to worry about I need another ring.
- 32:45Sean McAllister: Right.
- 32:46Dayna Roselli: I mean, you're always gonna want that's always gonna be your goal, right?
- 32:49Dayna Roselli: So I don't know.
- 32:50Dayna Roselli: Um, I loved seeing the coach.
- 32:52Dayna Roselli: Uh listen, Raiders won that game.
- 32:53Dayna Roselli: It was a great kick by Daniel Carlson.
- 32:58Dayna Roselli: Daniel Carlson.
- 32:59Dayna Roselli: Carlson, our one of our favorites that we met very beginning, uh, very in the very beginning of the Raiders moving to Las Vegas, and we always were very fond of such a nice guy.
- 33:07Dayna Roselli: And it was great to see the coach, Pete Carroll, jumping up and down, excited.
- 33:11Sean McAllister: Yeah, then he got fired.
- 33:12Dayna Roselli: Then he got fired the next day.
- 33:13Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 33:14Dayna Roselli: So that's that's a Vegas twist for you.
- 33:16Sean McAllister: Well, you know, we have not had a coach uh for the Las Vegas Raiders since they've moved to Las Vegas.
- 33:24Sean McAllister: Uh, we've had like one season coaches.
- 33:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 33:27Sean McAllister: I think we need to give a I think we need to give some of these guys a a little more of a shot to turn things around.
- 33:35Sean McAllister: More than a single season.
- 33:36Sean McAllister: Yeah that's tough.
- 33:37Dayna Roselli: It is tough.
- 33:38Dayna Roselli: And you just want to get used, I don't know, they've sent Tom Brady in now to do the scouting.
- 33:43Dayna Roselli: And well, there's another celebrity.
- 33:46Sean McAllister: Right.
- 33:46Dayna Roselli: News with a Vegas twist, Tom.
- 33:48Sean McAllister: Because he's part owner of the Raiders.
- 33:49Dayna Roselli: Sure is.
- 33:50Dayna Roselli: And he just put up on his story the other day.
- 33:51Dayna Roselli: He was pulling into Allegiance Stadium.
- 33:53Dayna Roselli: So he was here too recently.
- 33:55Sean McAllister: To turn things around, yeah.
- 33:56Dayna Roselli: And then we saw Mark Davis, uh, the owner of the Raiders, at a party that Derek Stevens, who owns Circa Las Vegas and the D and Met Golden Gate and all that, he had a special party for uh who he called, he sent us a letter.
- 34:09Dayna Roselli: We're a very influential part of Las Vegas.
- 34:12Dayna Roselli: We were honored to be invited.
- 34:13Dayna Roselli: We're like, who else is here?
- 34:15Dayna Roselli: What is this about?
- 34:16Dayna Roselli: Um, and we were given something very special, um, some access to things.
- 34:21Dayna Roselli: So that was fun.
- 34:22Dayna Roselli: We had a great cocktail party up there at the Legacy Club.
- 34:26Dayna Roselli: Uh got to see Derek Nicole, Mark Davis was there, the governor was there, the governor's wife.
- 34:31Dayna Roselli: Uh, we saw Mark Chinook.
- 34:32Dayna Roselli: It was like a who's who, and it was a lot of fun.
- 34:34Dayna Roselli: People from the sphere and area 15.
- 34:36Sean McAllister: And yeah, it was it was a great night.
- 34:39Sean McAllister: Um, and that location, by the way, the legacy club at the top of Circa.
- 34:45Sean McAllister: I feel like we don't talk about it enough because what a gem it really is.
- 34:50Sean McAllister: And you can like anybody can go up there.
- 34:54Dayna Roselli: Anybody.
- 34:54Dayna Roselli: It's great.
- 34:55Dayna Roselli: 21 and over, obviously.
- 34:57Dayna Roselli: The property is 21 and over.
- 34:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 34:59Dayna Roselli: Um, and I think we'll have to look more deep dive because they got a lot of different kinds of events and they've changed some things up and DJs.
- 35:06Dayna Roselli: Um, maybe we deep dive soon into some of the things they offer up there, but it's it is great.
- 35:12Dayna Roselli: And I always say, like, when you have people coming into town, if you don't want to make the big, big to-do of traveling to the strip and finding an iconic spot, going to the top of the Eiffel Tower, whatever it might be, you know, remember Circa Las Vegas has a legacy club.
- 35:30Dayna Roselli: It's a great view.
- 35:31Sean McAllister: Well, and it's nice, it's an elevated, you're you have an elevated atmosphere around you.
- 35:37Sean McAllister: Um, the legacy club, by the way, got its name because it carries on the legacy of the people who built Las Vegas.
- 35:44Sean McAllister: And when you go up there, you see all of the faces of the people who built Las Vegas.
- 35:51Sean McAllister: You know, back in the starting from, you know, back in the the 50s on through to today.
- 35:57Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 35:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's it's a cool spot.
- 35:59Dayna Roselli: And you see gold bars.
- 36:01Sean McAllister: There's a huge case of gold bars, which oh, and shout out to the bartenders.
- 36:06Dayna Roselli: How fast were those bartenders?
- 36:07Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh, they were cranking stuff out.
- 36:10Dayna Roselli: Sometimes you go to events or things or busy a concert, and you're like, these guys are taking their sweet time, and like I get it, but it's like, well, you expect this is gonna be pretty busy tonight.
- 36:20Dayna Roselli: Let's kind of maybe like move it along a little bit, a little bit fast, a little pep in your step.
- 36:26Dayna Roselli: At Legacy Club, they were hustling.
- 36:29Sean McAllister: Oh, they were doing if you put your drink order in for uh I mean they had like multiple drinks going at once, but they were on top of their game.
- 36:38Sean McAllister: So kudos to uh the staff up at Legacy Club, and you know, thank you, Derek, for inviting us over there uh for this special evening, and we'll be back.
- 36:50Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we now have special parking spaces.
- 36:52Dayna Roselli: I'm excited.
- 36:54Dayna Roselli: So that's a lot.
- 36:54Dayna Roselli: See, every time we think like what celebrity news can we talk about with a Vegas twist?
- 36:58Dayna Roselli: Well, there's always stuff.
