  single I Am and the follow up Higher and Honestly, bro, they're two

  of the best things I've heard from rock music in a long time. Man,

  So, so tell us more about the songs. Well, but these

  all these songs are pretty much pretty personal. This song Higher, for example,

  is you know, Mike sort of ambition at making sort of like a

  metal gospel tune. Okay, So, and he got the right people to

  do it, I guess. And before we go any further, mate,

  Like in case anyone is wondering, yes, this is the same Corey Glover

  from Living Color and Sonny Universe is a new project that you've started with Mike

  Orlando from Adrenaline Mob. So tell us a bit more about Sonic Universe and

  how it came to be. Well, me and Mike, excuse me,
• 1:56
  tired. Me and Mike were met on a cruise on the ship Rock Cruise.

  We were both stowaways on that and and you know, I saw Mike
• 2:12
  playing and his guitar playing, and it was like, holy shit, who
• 2:16
  is that dude? And I was like, I got to meet this guy.

  So my manager at the time and I met Mike. And turns out

  Mike is we all have a bunch of musical friends and we know a bunch
• 2:30
  of people, and we're like, look, let's get together and do something
• 2:34
  at some point. And that was just before the pandemic. And then sometime
• 2:38
  after that we got together. I'd go to his place in his studio,
• 2:42
  uh called it was Sonic Stomped, and we just banged out a bunch of
• 2:49
  tunes. You know, over the course of like two years, we banged
• 2:52
  a whole bunch of tunes. Cool. So I'll go to ask him,

  I'd like, his people are gonna want to know, But how different is
• 2:59
  the music for Sonic universe probably Living Color. Well what this this is sort

  of a combination of like the heaviness of adrenaline mob and whatever I bring from
• 3:10
  Living Color over to the table. And so there's you know, I have

  a particular set of skills, is what's his name? One said, and

  so does so does Mike, and we put those together and came up with

  Sonic Universe. All right, now it is what it is? Comes out

  on the tenth. Then there's ten songs up on the album made so if

  just tell us a little bit more about it? And musically, so the

  album starts with the single I Am Right. Well that was us telling telling

  everybody you know, I don't know if you know, but we are still

  Am is about, really, and then a move onder the title track,

  It is what it is? Yeah, you know, that's basically saying,

  you know, the world offers you a bunch of stuff, will give you,

  will hand you a bunch of stuff, and you can take it and

  leave it. Really, you can make the best of it, you can

  make the worst of it. Whatever it is, it is, what it

  is makes sense, and you've got turn a blind eye. Yeah, you

  again. Most of these songs are just about overcoming life, overcoming being where

  you are in your life, and you you know, if you're not where

  you want to be, you will. You can take it by the you

  can take it by the balls and just go with it or not. It's

  right, Okay, come what may? Is I song on the album?

  Yes, sort of the sort of continuation and that the whole thing with life.

  You know, no matter what you're going to you're going to succeed as

  long as you as you wake up every morning, you succeeded, and you

  succeeded in whatever it is you wanted to do, you exist, right,

  And then I want it all. It's not a Queen cover, is it?

  Not at all? No, it's just you know, another declarative statement.

  Get everything that you think you deserve, everywhere, anywhere, in any

  given situation. Then the album closes out with Beautiful Destiny. Yeah, yeah,

  things fall apart, they fall apart beautifully. M hmm. Right, So

  overall made tell us about the album from a musical point of view and what

  you're actually going forward? It well, what we're trying. What we're trying

  to get at, and I really believe that we succeeded is taking the whole

  idea of what life feels like in a given point in time and as a

  slice of life. Basically, this is this album is a lot more personal,

  I think than anything else that I do. This and and the Ultraphonics

  record, we're really sort of, you know, in a real sort of
• 7:36
  way, dealing with my life up until this point, you know, and
• 7:42
  where my life is up until this point. You can do that over two
• 7:45
  records. Might if you've done well to condense it. It doesn't say,

  doesn't bode well for me? Does it? Yeah? I think I think

  it's really good. Yeah. So Michael Lando actually produced this album as well,

  mate, So what are some of the advantages and disadvantages are keeping that

  role in house. He's an amazing songwriter and arranger, like and he's got
• 8:07
  a real sort of he's got an excellent ear. You know, he hears
• 8:13
  a song for what it is, and it he knows that he knows just
• 8:16
  the things that will get people up and and and shouting along and dancing along.

  He get's he gets it and because it's our project. He gets it
• 8:24
  even better than most. You know, I don't think anyone outside of us
• 8:28
  could have given it more life than Mike did. And is it is it

  just going to be a studio project, mad or are you looking at it?

  Maybe take it on the right Eventually, we're definitely gonna take it on

  the road. We're trying to we're aiming for the well, our winter,
