- 0:48Speaker 3: one of my favorite people.
- 0:51Speaker 4: And you know what, we only just met in.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Real life a couple of weeks ago. We were following
- 0:55Speaker 3: each other and.
- 0:57Speaker 5: Yeah, I was admiring you.
- 0:59Speaker 3: You were on my my stuff. We just have mutual friends,
- 1:03Speaker 3: and I just love that you're here today, Miss Andrea Lopez.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Here she is.
- 1:07Speaker 5: Thank you for having made and a long time coming.
- 1:10Speaker 5: And it's so funny with social media, you follow people
- 1:13Speaker 5: for a long time, you have a thousand mutual friends
- 1:16Speaker 5: and then we're finally making it happen. So I love
- 1:18Speaker 5: it amazing.
- 1:19Speaker 3: I'm so glad.
- 1:20Speaker 5: I mean too.
- 1:20Speaker 3: And the first time we met in real life, we
- 1:22Speaker 3: went to this wonderful brunch, right, how much fun did
- 1:25Speaker 3: we have? Jen?
- 1:27Speaker 5: What was now? I love when people just tell me
- 1:32Speaker 5: what one word, like, it's gonna be a brunch and
- 1:34Speaker 5: you can go a lot of places with that, right,
- 1:37Speaker 5: But it went way on the other side. Yeah, it
- 1:41Speaker 5: was you guys know the Highln right something?
- 1:43Speaker 3: It was the high On.
- 1:44Speaker 5: Yeah, the high Line is an amazing event space. It
- 1:46Speaker 5: was something. And they try out these new brunch things
- 1:49Speaker 5: and everybody buys a ticket. I mean, one moment you're
- 1:52Speaker 5: chewing on a delicious shrimp cocktail. The next moment a
- 1:55Speaker 5: party Robot's coming out and dancing in people's faces. I'm like,
- 1:59Speaker 5: where are we?
- 2:00Speaker 3: And what about the about those great women who are
- 2:02Speaker 3: at the other table, the women in.
- 2:05Speaker 4: Chanelle suits, the ship, Yes, twirking people were getting down
- 2:10Speaker 4: on them.
- 2:10Speaker 5: You want to go, you want to have a fun
- 2:11Speaker 5: brunch Highlands? Great, but yeah, it's it's all these.
- 2:14Speaker 3: People podcast Highland. Seriously, No, we.
- 2:17Speaker 5: And we will talk up those brunches because we could
- 2:20Speaker 5: do an entire podcast episode just about that brunch. But yeah,
- 2:22Speaker 5: there was a fantastic woman in a Chanel suit and
- 2:25Speaker 5: she had her hair all night. She was stunning. But
- 2:26Speaker 5: she was popping. Oh my, she was popping on the
- 2:29Speaker 5: dance floor with that suit.
- 2:31Speaker 3: But she was my hero. She was your hero.
- 2:33Speaker 4: I think she was everybody in theirs hero that day.
- 2:35Speaker 4: She was great.
- 2:36Speaker 5: She made for a great brunch.
- 2:38Speaker 3: And I got my friend to sing by the DJ
- 2:41Speaker 3: for the microphone and he's like one, He's like you singing.
- 2:44Speaker 4: I go, no, I can't for me?
- 2:45Speaker 3: Is it even wanted me to sing like jan Is
- 2:47Speaker 3: Droplin or something, then we'd be all right, But no,
- 2:49Speaker 3: give it to my front made let's sing so good dance.
- 2:52Speaker 3: We had a great That was a great.
- 2:54Speaker 5: Day, a great fun day.
- 2:55Speaker 3: That really was the first first in real life introduction
- 2:59Speaker 3: was at this wonderful brunch, which was great.
- 3:01Speaker 4: So now now we're glued together for life, because.
- 3:05Speaker 5: You know, yeah, yeah, soul sisters for life. Okay, men
- 3:08Speaker 5: were coming. Men were thirsty that day, coming from every direction.
- 3:11Speaker 5: I was like, again, where are we these men?
- 3:15Speaker 4: It was like they unleashed Oh my, God.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Yeah, at least we got some we got some some stories.
- 3:21Speaker 3: I had some stories, and we got some nice champagne
- 3:23Speaker 3: out of it, too, nice champagne.
- 3:25Speaker 4: Right, she had a little yeah, and.
- 3:27Speaker 3: To kill the two, I think, and I'm gve a drink.
- 3:30Speaker 3: I was just appreciating the whole thing coming across the table.
- 3:33Speaker 4: I'm like, wow, look at this, look at this.
- 3:35Speaker 5: Yeah, you did very well because they were the bottles
- 3:38Speaker 5: were poorn, they were poor.
- 3:40Speaker 3: And we had we had a good time.
- 3:41Speaker 4: It was a good time.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Yeah, And uh, you know you from everything. I mean,
- 3:47Speaker 3: I just love your impersonations. I think they're so funny.
- 3:50Speaker 3: I think that you are so talented and so beautiful
- 3:54Speaker 3: and just you're just like down to earth. I just
- 3:57Speaker 3: I just love your whole energy, don't.
- 3:59Speaker 4: I mean even like just I never wanted, not meaning you.
- 4:03Speaker 3: In real life, but I could tell you're just such.
- 4:05Speaker 3: You had such a great energy to you. And I go,
- 4:07Speaker 3: I'm gonna love this girl. I'm gonna meet her in
- 4:10Speaker 3: real life and I'm gonna love her. You know, my
- 4:12Speaker 3: daughter and your excuse me, my daughter and you are
- 4:17Speaker 3: almost the same age. You're a little bit younger and
- 4:19Speaker 3: my oldest and a little bit older than my middle
- 4:22Speaker 3: So I'm like, you're just you know.
- 4:24Speaker 5: I'm right in the then in that stage in life. Yeah,
- 4:27Speaker 5: so we we were talking about that a little bit.
- 4:29Speaker 5: It was like, what are your daughter's dating? What's that
- 4:31Speaker 5: look like? I need some some good advice. But yeah,
- 4:35Speaker 5: it's funny. I've been in this like inner circle of
- 4:38Speaker 5: whether it's like Jersey friends or I'm friends with Nicole
- 4:41Speaker 5: peep Us who's the trainer, and every it's everybody's all connected.
- 4:45Speaker 5: It's amazing. But I really have found like a good
- 4:47Speaker 5: community of people and and you're in and you're in that,
- 4:50Speaker 5: I'm sure you're in the group of amazing group.
- 4:54Speaker 3: I love it.
- 4:55Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah, Jersey has been great. I I moved there.
- 4:57Speaker 5: I wasn't in Jersey, but I feel like there is
- 5:00Speaker 5: such a big Jersey Staten Island, you know, everything besides
- 5:04Speaker 5: the city. There are so many people. This is such
- 5:06Speaker 5: a huge place and I'm happy to be here. Yeah,
- 5:10Speaker 5: I was. I've been kind of all over the place.
- 5:12Speaker 5: I was Brooklyn, then I moved back to d C
- 5:14Speaker 5: where I'm from, moved to Jersey, then I moved to
- 5:17Speaker 5: la for a little bit, and then now I finally
- 5:19Speaker 5: find myself back in in the in the Jersey or.
- 5:22Speaker 4: In the Jersey. How was it growing up with DC?
- 5:24Speaker 4: I love d C.
- 5:25Speaker 3: I mean, do you I do?
- 5:27Speaker 4: I like d C?
- 5:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I do. I enjoy enjoy it.
- 5:30Speaker 5: It's a vibe there definitely is vie. I knew that
- 5:35Speaker 5: I didn't want to end up and kind of raise
- 5:38Speaker 5: a family or start my my professional career there only
- 5:41Speaker 5: because it's so political.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:43Speaker 5: Political, you're doing a lot of uh. I mean, it's
- 5:47Speaker 5: like lawyers, policies, nonprofits. And I always knew that I
- 5:51Speaker 5: wanted to go into radio, TV, something in the media industry.
- 5:55Speaker 5: So I have tons of family back in DC. I
- 5:57Speaker 5: was just there this past weekend celebrating birthdays. So I
- 6:00Speaker 5: have family there and I can always go back and visit.
- 6:02Speaker 5: But it was an amazing place. I mean, it's so historical,
- 6:05Speaker 5: it has so much history.
- 6:07Speaker 4: It's a beautiful place. I mean, the buildings are beautiful.
- 6:10Speaker 5: The monuments. There's not a lot of tall buildings, so
- 6:12Speaker 5: it's different from New York because they want the monuments
- 6:14Speaker 5: to stand out. So it's a very Parisian kind of layout.
- 6:17Speaker 5: And then you know, we have things like the cherry blossoms,
- 6:20Speaker 5: which are gorgeous yeah, and the water the title basin,
- 6:23Speaker 5: there's a lot of good stuff capital.
- 6:24Speaker 4: I love the I always call it the Forrest Gump.
- 6:28Speaker 5: Uh the title pool. Yeah, it's not really for it's
- 6:32Speaker 5: not really a big scene exam.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 6:38Speaker 5: Yeah, when he when he sees uh Jenny.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:42Speaker 5: I always just saying I have to watch that movie
- 6:44Speaker 5: again because it's such a feel good movie.
- 6:46Speaker 3: It's a great movie. Yeah. That and I watched or
- 6:48Speaker 3: Shank Redemption. Every year I have to always watch.
- 6:55Speaker 5: I gotta watch sh Shank out.
- 6:57Speaker 4: You know what.
- 6:57Speaker 5: My shore Shank time is coming up? You what shaw Shank.
- 7:00Speaker 5: Every year, I gotta watch redamn shit. No, this is
- 7:04Speaker 5: I haven't told her, but after thirty minutes with somebody,
- 7:07Speaker 5: I can usually do somewhat of an impression. That's going
- 7:11Speaker 5: in yours. I'm building the Jennifer archive right now. I
- 7:14Speaker 5: always watch Shank Redemn Shit one. It's my annual watch.
- 7:20Speaker 4: I love it.
- 7:21Speaker 5: Worst Gump and shaw Shank. Those are the two banks,
- 7:24Speaker 5: two big.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Ones on shore Shank, Andy Shank, that was a great
- 7:31Speaker 3: impression of me. I loved it.
- 7:32Speaker 5: Thank you. And let her read her glasses. Yeah, the
- 7:36Speaker 5: reader is that's going in there too.
- 7:39Speaker 3: My grandmother used to say it that, so now I
- 7:41Speaker 3: say it now to it. It's so funny.
- 7:43Speaker 5: We I'm noticing certain parts of my mom and my
- 7:46Speaker 5: grandmother's are coming through me, and I'm like, oh my god,
- 7:49Speaker 5: I'm turning into them. And then have people ever said
- 7:52Speaker 5: to you, oh my god, nod me of your grandmother
- 7:55Speaker 5: you are. You're a direct result people say to me
- 7:58Speaker 5: all the time. You know, I don't look like My
- 7:59Speaker 5: mom is blonde and she has pretty olive skin because
- 8:03Speaker 5: she's a little Dominican, but she's mostly German, Swedish Norwegian,
- 8:06Speaker 5: and then my dad is Mexican, so we don't look
- 8:08Speaker 5: alike necessarily. I have certain traits, but I look more
- 8:11Speaker 5: like my dad. So it's so funny when people are like,
- 8:13Speaker 5: oh my god, you sound just like your mom. I'm thinking, really,
- 8:16Speaker 5: I think I think we're so different. But yeah, I
- 8:19Speaker 5: notice certain things that.
- 8:20Speaker 3: I do, but you're not, because there's certain pots of
- 8:22Speaker 3: you oh that areally just her?
- 8:25Speaker 5: Yeah right, you know, oh absolutely.
- 8:27Speaker 3: And I bet she's just so funny that your perception
- 8:30Speaker 3: she probably do you do an impersonation of your mom
- 8:32Speaker 3: and your dad?
- 8:33Speaker 5: It's funny. Oh yeah, definitely, I'll do it. For them.
- 8:37Speaker 5: It's very much like what we do at dinners. You know,
- 8:39Speaker 5: we just like impersonate our families and we make jokes
- 8:42Speaker 5: about our old neighbors and it's all in good fun.
- 8:44Speaker 5: But yeah, my mom, whenever she's on the phone, she's like,
- 8:46Speaker 5: oh my god, Andrea, I have to tell you about
- 8:48Speaker 5: a dream that I just had. She's very spiritual, So
- 8:51Speaker 5: every every day she's like, I just had a dream.
- 8:53Speaker 5: And now now I've been living with them as they
- 8:55Speaker 5: just moved, I'm helping them kind of like move into
- 8:57Speaker 5: the new house. And so every morning she comes with
- 8:59Speaker 5: a revelation. She's like, I was in the shower and
- 9:01Speaker 5: I had a thought yesterday at eleven eleven, I thought
- 9:06Speaker 5: about your aunt who passed, and I had just I
- 9:09Speaker 5: cooked Rice. She has some crazy ass relation thing with Rice.
- 9:15Speaker 5: Some something will like she'll have a vision or some
- 9:18Speaker 5: realization and she has to tell me. She's like, and
- 9:20Speaker 5: you know what that means, that that we we need
- 9:24Speaker 5: to go play the lottery, and we need to play
- 9:25Speaker 5: the numbers of your of your aunt's birthday. I mean,
- 9:27Speaker 5: like the result of whatever she the vision she has,
- 9:30Speaker 5: it's it's hilarious, but I'll do an impression of her
- 9:32Speaker 5: with those type of Andrea, I had a revelation.
- 9:35Speaker 3: It's like, Okay, does she like when you do the impressions?
- 9:37Speaker 3: Does she live?
- 9:38Speaker 4: Oh?
- 9:38Speaker 5: She does. I'm very thankful that my I got my
- 9:42Speaker 5: sense of humor from my my family, and when we
- 9:44Speaker 5: all get together, it's all we do is just laugh
- 9:47Speaker 5: and tell old stories. And that's that's a big part
- 9:50Speaker 5: of who I am.
- 9:50Speaker 3: For sure, it's that, but there's not the that, but
- 9:53Speaker 3: that's a big part of and I know that your
- 9:57Speaker 3: Mexican Americans, you know, Italian American that we I think
- 10:02Speaker 3: very similar.
- 10:03Speaker 5: Or similar, you know, totally.
- 10:07Speaker 3: So I feel like you know that it's just you know,
- 10:10Speaker 3: we are multi generational people and we get from our families.
- 10:15Speaker 3: You know, it's it's you know, I'm sure you're a
- 10:18Speaker 3: yeah with you right, And I'm sure that that was
- 10:20Speaker 3: a big part of your life, being with your grandparents
- 10:23Speaker 3: totally and then your parents, and you know, it's it's
- 10:27Speaker 3: it's I think it's great, and I think it's important.
- 10:30Speaker 3: And they made they made you who you are. You know,
- 10:33Speaker 3: their influence and it's impacted. I'm sure you'll like absolutely
- 10:37Speaker 3: whoever you grow up with.
- 10:38Speaker 5: You know, if you're if you're blessed enough to have
- 10:40Speaker 5: to grow up with a strong family unit. Yeah, they
- 10:44Speaker 5: they are so much a part of you.
- 10:46Speaker 3: And you have brothers and sisters.
- 10:47Speaker 5: Yes, I've got an older brother who I'm very close with.
- 10:49Speaker 5: He's he's actually ten years older than me, so he's
- 10:51Speaker 5: as much as he's at a different stage in his life.
- 10:53Speaker 5: I've looked up to him my entire life. What what
- 10:56Speaker 5: what he's done? Now, we're very different. He's a very analytical,
- 10:59Speaker 5: he's smart, he's got the finance brain, he's got the
- 11:01Speaker 5: math brain. I've always been more creative in the middle
- 11:04Speaker 5: and creative. You're the middle and there's only two of us,
- 11:06Speaker 5: so it's just my brother.
- 11:07Speaker 4: You're the middle younger.
- 11:09Speaker 5: Yes, I'm the baby as well.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Okay, but is still kind of because usually the baby
- 11:13Speaker 3: or the middle is always the more creator and fun
- 11:17Speaker 3: Yeah one, because we have to have we have to
- 11:19Speaker 3: draw in the attention.
- 11:21Speaker 5: Right I gotta stand down there somehow, of course, Yes, yes, yes,
- 11:27Speaker 5: but it is funny. I'm sure you come from. Italians
- 11:29Speaker 5: are also very loud and very expressive. Oh my god,
- 11:31Speaker 5: so I'm grouping myself in. But Latin and Italian culture
- 11:35Speaker 5: is that's very much a part of it, you know,
- 11:36Speaker 5: you have to like express yourself some way. And we
- 11:38Speaker 5: were just having a conversation with our friends. But she
- 11:41Speaker 5: was explaining that, yeah, we're not fighting, we're just drinking
- 11:44Speaker 5: coffee together and talking. We're having a conversation.
- 11:47Speaker 4: My friend came off.
- 11:48Speaker 3: From Pennsylvania with her daughter, and they're like, she was
- 11:52Speaker 3: from the South, she's from Georgia originally, but now Pennsylvania. Yeah,
- 11:56Speaker 3: and she's like the typical bless your heart and very
- 11:59Speaker 3: like mild man. And they come to my house and
- 12:03Speaker 3: the daughter is watching me and my kids like just
- 12:06Speaker 3: at my at my island, but no talking.
- 12:09Speaker 4: Yes, and she's like, mom, why are they yelling at
- 12:13Speaker 4: each other? Why are they fighting?
- 12:15Speaker 3: And I'm like, and I hear it say this to
- 12:18Speaker 3: I still laugh and I got no, honey, I said,
- 12:20Speaker 3: this is just the way we talk. I said, we're
- 12:22Speaker 3: not yelling.
- 12:24Speaker 4: This is just a regular conversation.
- 12:26Speaker 5: But she didn't.
- 12:27Speaker 3: She at far, she was like a little like and
- 12:29Speaker 3: then she loved it, like she loved the whole, like
- 12:33Speaker 3: the dynamic and love like the the flamboyant miss of it,
- 12:36Speaker 3: and oh yeah, you know.
- 12:38Speaker 4: And she was like, what are we going back to
- 12:39Speaker 4: the house.
- 12:40Speaker 3: Mom.
- 12:42Speaker 5: Yes, it's I mean, it's addicting. It's like that you
- 12:45Speaker 5: just see the energy that's there. It's very much. But
- 12:47Speaker 5: it's it's funny where how cultures can kind of be similar,
- 12:50Speaker 5: you know.
- 12:50Speaker 4: Without definitely and that would definitely similar.
- 12:53Speaker 5: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 12:55Speaker 3: How how did so did your grandparents grow up in
- 12:57Speaker 3: the house with you? Like, did you grow up in
- 12:59Speaker 3: the house with them too?
- 13:00Speaker 5: Yes, I grew up with one of my grandmothers, and
- 13:02Speaker 5: then my other grandmother lived very close, so everybody was
- 13:06Speaker 5: in DC within you know, a neighborhood of each other.
- 13:10Speaker 5: So I was very blessed in that way. But both
- 13:11Speaker 5: my grandmothers were single mothers. They raised their whole families,
- 13:15Speaker 5: so I definitely a sell those the Yes, matriarchal figures
- 13:18Speaker 5: in my life are strong, So I wouldn't say that's
- 13:21Speaker 5: why I've had no successful relationship. But maybe maybe now
- 13:27Speaker 5: that I'm thinking about it.
- 13:29Speaker 4: Why is that?
- 13:30Speaker 5: Yeah, that could definitely be No, but yeah, I was.
- 13:34Speaker 5: It's interesting, you know.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Yeah, and you were in a relationship for a.
- 13:39Speaker 5: While, yes, yeah, yeah, my whole twenties, actually I was
- 13:41Speaker 5: in relationship. So I had two long term relationships which
- 13:45Speaker 5: were my entire twenties. This is the longest I've been
- 13:48Speaker 5: single since I was twenty one, so in ten years.
- 13:50Speaker 5: I'm thirty one now, and I had a very very
- 13:53Speaker 5: painful breakup in June with somebody I thought I was
- 13:56Speaker 5: going to marry. Yeah, you know, and when things don't
- 13:59Speaker 5: necessarily work out and you're in two different stages in life,
- 14:01Speaker 5: when you think you're on the same stage, we're really not.
- 14:04Speaker 5: That can be Yeah, that can completely break up a relationship.
- 14:07Speaker 3: So but you know what, it's better that you know
- 14:10Speaker 3: now that you weren't ready than if you did get
- 14:13Speaker 3: married and then golf, you know, golf a bit it
- 14:15Speaker 3: doesn't work out right, and then you know, and that's
- 14:17Speaker 3: even worse.
- 14:18Speaker 5: Yeah, Yes, I think because you're you're in it for longer,
- 14:22Speaker 5: and that's only more painful when it when it does
- 14:24Speaker 5: come to an end. So I mean, I wish him
- 14:26Speaker 5: all the best. And what's funny is that's your best
- 14:29Speaker 5: friend for I don't know, years and years.
- 14:31Speaker 4: Yeah, all of a sudden you just lose.
- 14:33Speaker 5: That best friend. So this is the very the biggest
- 14:37Speaker 5: learning curve I've had in my love life for sure.
- 14:40Speaker 5: Was this this last couple of the last like eight months,
- 14:43Speaker 5: it's almost been a year. I'm like doing the math
- 14:45Speaker 5: now and I'm like, God, so I would say I
- 14:48Speaker 5: have learned a lot. But at the same time, you're
- 14:51Speaker 5: kind of just like taking it day by day. Yeah,
- 14:53Speaker 5: you know, some days are harder than others. But the dating,
- 14:56Speaker 5: especially in this area New York, is.
- 14:58Speaker 4: Very it's hard.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Listen, and I think we were just talking about on
- 15:02Speaker 3: the Lab part last podcast. It's so much different for
- 15:05Speaker 3: you guys to date now than it was for us.
- 15:09Speaker 3: Like I might, Like I said, my daughters are in
- 15:12Speaker 3: your age group and I and I always feel sorry.
- 15:15Speaker 3: I felt sorry for them because I'm like, how are
- 15:17Speaker 3: they going to meet somebody like that? Like when I
- 15:20Speaker 3: was younger, we met when we went out to.
- 15:21Speaker 4: A club, and we went out to a bar normal.
- 15:24Speaker 3: Nobody had phones. It was just interactions. You met somebody
- 15:27Speaker 3: through somebody else. And because everybody went out and everybody
- 15:31Speaker 3: was out, now that was the point. That was it.
- 15:34Speaker 3: They went out to go find they're so made, or
- 15:36Speaker 3: find that girlfriend or that girlfriend for right now, right
- 15:40Speaker 3: for whatever reason. Now everybody's stuck to this or to
- 15:43Speaker 3: a screen. Yep, it's very hard to you know, transcend
- 15:48Speaker 3: that you know that that that situation into a relationship
- 15:54Speaker 3: because now you have to really talk to talk to somebody.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Is you find it hard to talk to men now
- 16:00Speaker 3: in this day and age.
- 16:02Speaker 5: A little bit because we talked about people's attention spans,
- 16:07Speaker 5: and I'm very conversation like, I love talking to people.
- 16:11Speaker 4: So it's always been my goal.
- 16:12Speaker 3: To be like me, I love to conversation.
- 16:14Speaker 5: I love I love small talk. If you talk to me,
- 16:17Speaker 5: I just I can't not talk to you. I'll be
- 16:19Speaker 5: in a public space and I see somebody, I'm like, oh,
- 16:21Speaker 5: I could go talk to them about about this.
- 16:23Speaker 3: I watch if like you're in a super maaker, I'll
- 16:25Speaker 3: just stop to crack up a conversation with somebody.
- 16:27Speaker 5: I annoy myself. I'm like, shut ear mouth. You don't
- 16:30Speaker 5: have to talk to somebody about their choice in beans.
- 16:32Speaker 5: Like I'll be in be picking up milk. I'm like, oh,
- 16:35Speaker 5: you're all in milk, same same Like it's.
- 16:37Speaker 4: Like, why do you have to say that?
- 16:38Speaker 5: Shut up? But so for me, I don't find it
- 16:41Speaker 5: that hard to start up a conversation. It's just once
- 16:43Speaker 5: you get to that point, you're like, you finally see
- 16:44Speaker 5: somebody that's attractive. I struggle with them not having the
- 16:47Speaker 5: same level of outgoingness or personality that I'm able to bring.
- 16:52Speaker 5: So I'm thinking, oh my god, where am I going
- 16:54Speaker 5: to meet people because people's, yeah, people's people's skills have
- 16:57Speaker 5: definitely deteriorated. Whether that was from COVID or that was
- 17:00Speaker 5: from everybody just relying on the phones.
- 17:03Speaker 3: I mean, I think COVID did a big number on
- 17:05Speaker 3: it totally. For some reason, something switched in people during COVID,
- 17:09Speaker 3: and I noticed that, and especially in the kids. My youngest,
- 17:13Speaker 3: like was in high school at that time, and it's
- 17:16Speaker 3: different completely, And it's different.
- 17:19Speaker 5: They're so much more customed to communicating on a screen,
- 17:23Speaker 5: so when they get face to face, they don't even
- 17:25Speaker 5: know how to keep eye contact.
- 17:27Speaker 3: It's weird, and they get very weirded out when to
- 17:29Speaker 3: have a conversation with you.
- 17:30Speaker 4: This is weird.
- 17:32Speaker 3: Why are you talking to me? Like why please don't
- 17:35Speaker 3: talk to me? Like they have the head down or
- 17:37Speaker 3: it's like this, like you know, and I tell my kids,
- 17:40Speaker 3: I'm like, guys, lift your head up, like let's sit
- 17:42Speaker 3: at the table and talk.
- 17:44Speaker 5: You know. It comes down to the parents wanting to
- 17:46Speaker 5: instill that.
- 17:46Speaker 3: Yeah, and I'm listening I'm guilty of being on the
- 17:49Speaker 3: phone too. I'm bad, I really am. But lately I
- 17:52Speaker 3: try to at night put it down and I have
- 17:55Speaker 3: to put it down at a limit because it's like
- 17:58Speaker 3: it's too further, too Muchmula one, absolutely, and it's like
- 18:03Speaker 3: you have you have to have this human interaction with people,
- 18:07Speaker 3: you know. And I felt like so once one point,
- 18:09Speaker 3: I was the only humor interaction I was having is
- 18:11Speaker 3: on my podcast. Look into my guests at one point,
- 18:14Speaker 3: because I'm like, we're always on the phone and always
- 18:17Speaker 3: posting videos, doing this, doing that, whether it's for your business,
- 18:21Speaker 3: whether it's for you to put you know, to dread,
- 18:25Speaker 3: you know, increase your social media. You know, You're always
- 18:28Speaker 3: doing something and this is always like you're attached right
- 18:31Speaker 3: to this, you know. But I feel bad for you, guys,
- 18:36Speaker 3: because it's it's got to be hard.
- 18:38Speaker 4: It's got to be as hard.
- 18:40Speaker 5: And also, people just have so many options. Humans are
- 18:43Speaker 5: not supposed to have this many options.
- 18:46Speaker 4: You go into a grocery store.
- 18:47Speaker 5: It's like fifty tooth paste to choose from. I'm like, guys,
- 18:51Speaker 5: i can't even walk into Target anymore because I'm just
- 18:53Speaker 5: so overstimulated. I'm like you're just make a decision. I
- 18:55Speaker 5: don't know, can I choose between the cottonent toilet paper
- 18:57Speaker 5: or like, seriously, I'm like, and somebody just make a decision.
- 19:01Speaker 5: We're just every day. I'm just like overloaded with decisions
- 19:05Speaker 5: and too many choices. So I think that also people
- 19:07Speaker 5: struggle with dating because I as too many options, you
- 19:10Speaker 5: know what I mean, it's.
- 19:11Speaker 3: Way too many options. I'm just I agree with you.
- 19:13Speaker 3: I think that that, especially with dating, I think that
- 19:18Speaker 3: it's I think it's well for guys and girls, even
- 19:20Speaker 3: though girls are bad. I think that guys, when they
- 19:23Speaker 3: have too much variety, who are they? They don't need
- 19:27Speaker 3: to be faithful to somebody?
- 19:29Speaker 5: Absolutely not, because they're easy for them.
- 19:30Speaker 4: It's too easy for them, right if they have too
- 19:33Speaker 4: much variety.
- 19:34Speaker 3: And I feel like now girls allow them to get
- 19:37Speaker 3: away with so much more Like when I was younger,
- 19:40Speaker 3: and I'd be like, go fuck it, like you know
- 19:42Speaker 3: what I mean, right, I would that's it. I'm not
- 19:45Speaker 3: putting up with the ship, see you later, goodbye. But
- 19:47Speaker 3: I feel like girls, as much as we're supposed.
- 19:51Speaker 4: To be more the femininees and the feminine, I.
- 19:53Speaker 3: Think we're still giving this bullshit, which and worse because
- 19:58Speaker 3: now you guys are like, oh, okay, well I understand
- 20:00Speaker 3: because there's so much more.
- 20:02Speaker 5: No, right, you need to still put your foot down.
- 20:04Speaker 3: No, don't put your foot down.
- 20:06Speaker 4: I mean don't don't don't not.
- 20:08Speaker 3: Put your foot you put that foot down to say, well,
- 20:11Speaker 3: it's bullshit.
- 20:12Speaker 5: We're so scared though, of like losing that maybe that
- 20:15Speaker 5: potential partner, that we're willing to accept so much more bullshit.
- 20:19Speaker 5: That's that's the problem. It's like, well, I found this
- 20:21Speaker 5: one guy and he kind of fits like all of
- 20:22Speaker 5: my most of my criteria, which you know, I take
- 20:26Speaker 5: criteria with a grainess lightly, but I'm saying you're like,
- 20:29Speaker 5: all right, well he's pretty good compared to I'm like,
- 20:34Speaker 5: trust me, it's not that long of a list, like
- 20:36Speaker 5: if you're if you're like a pretty nice guy. But
- 20:39Speaker 5: I think, yeah, it's there's just we're willing to accept
- 20:42Speaker 5: a lot more because it's so much harder to find
- 20:44Speaker 5: somebody to kind of relate to on a on a
- 20:46Speaker 5: deeper level. Also, people don't have really good values anymore.
- 20:49Speaker 5: I don't know, we've just all become so relaxed as
- 20:53Speaker 5: a society. We're just accepting whatever because We're scared to
- 20:56Speaker 5: be alone. It's scared to be alone in this.
- 20:58Speaker 4: World is It's just a lot scary to be alone.
- 21:01Speaker 5: It's crazy. So all my friends that are now married,
- 21:03Speaker 5: they're at completely different stages in their lives. I look
- 21:06Speaker 5: at them, and sometimes I do get really sad because
- 21:08Speaker 5: I'm thinking, well, sh shit, what my life is like
- 21:12Speaker 5: going real fast past me? And I'm still trying to,
- 21:15Speaker 5: you know, make make a name for myself. I am
- 21:18Speaker 5: I'm thirty one, is not old by any means, especially
- 21:21Speaker 5: in our today's eight today's day and age, people are
- 21:25Speaker 5: waiting a lot longer.
- 21:26Speaker 3: And that's great.
- 21:27Speaker 5: So it's I am so happy for my friends that
- 21:29Speaker 5: are in that stage of their life. But I am
- 21:31Speaker 5: looking at myself like, all right, you know you're like.
- 21:34Speaker 3: Wait, you know, Matt, but do you know when I'm
- 21:36Speaker 3: gonna be honest with you? And I'm gonna say this,
- 21:37Speaker 3: and I say this to my kids. My daughter had
- 21:41Speaker 3: she was supposed to get married last year and she
- 21:43Speaker 3: broke off whole wedding and I said, she she's a
- 21:46Speaker 3: little bit old and my oldest she's gonna be thirty four,
- 21:48Speaker 3: and she's like, am I gonna find somebody? B blay,
- 21:50Speaker 3: I said, I want to tell you this. You could
- 21:53Speaker 3: meet somebody tomorrow, and no, you don't have to wait
- 21:57Speaker 3: a year for them. If you know somebody after being
- 22:00Speaker 3: with them for three six months, three six months, you
- 22:03Speaker 3: know that person, you're gonna know if that's the right
- 22:05Speaker 3: person for you. Because now you're older and you know
- 22:08Speaker 3: what you're looking for, right that's it.
- 22:10Speaker 5: You don't have to go through these four years five
- 22:12Speaker 5: years of dating.
- 22:13Speaker 4: That's it.
- 22:13Speaker 3: You don't have to do that anymore, because you know what,
- 22:16Speaker 3: at this point in your life, you're mature enough to
- 22:18Speaker 3: know what you want in your life. Now you're not
- 22:21Speaker 3: you're not a kid, you're not you know, you're you're
- 22:23Speaker 3: out of college and now you're doing you know, now
- 22:25Speaker 3: you're in the real world. So it's a little bit
- 22:28Speaker 3: easier to and especially if you move in with somebody
- 22:30Speaker 3: right away, then you really know them.
- 22:32Speaker 4: That's it.
- 22:33Speaker 3: That's what you have to do. Move in with them. Yeah,
- 22:35Speaker 3: then you know that person seriously. But the people will
- 22:38Speaker 3: show you who they are very quickly, and I think,
- 22:41Speaker 3: and you know, you'll find them and they'll be quick.
- 22:43Speaker 3: You don't have to have this long courtship. You might
- 22:45Speaker 3: find and you have to be with somebody for six years.
- 22:47Speaker 3: By the way, if somebody is going to be you
- 22:49Speaker 3: gauge you for six years at thirty five years old,
- 22:51Speaker 3: then you need to dump them anyway, because that means
- 22:53Speaker 3: they're not ready way too long, right, they're taking way
- 22:56Speaker 3: too long and they're not ready for commitments. So if
- 22:58Speaker 3: they're not ready to say hey after a year was
- 23:01Speaker 3: a year? Yeah, yeah, I think I'm like ready to
- 23:04Speaker 3: take the next step. Maybe next year then like see
- 23:06Speaker 3: you lay to take it easy.
- 23:07Speaker 4: By yeah, then move on to the next one.
- 23:09Speaker 3: That's the way I look at it. So you gotta
- 23:11Speaker 3: do it if you don't know by that and that's
- 23:13Speaker 3: the secret. And most women don't know that, but I'm
- 23:16Speaker 3: telling you the seon Oh you alage don't know that,
- 23:18Speaker 3: but that's the secret.
- 23:19Speaker 4: Yes, you know it.
- 23:21Speaker 3: You're gonna know it right away, and that's it. So
- 23:24Speaker 3: it'll happen, and it could happen if you could. You
- 23:26Speaker 3: can be walking right out of here one day, but
- 23:28Speaker 3: today you can meet somebody and bump it to them
- 23:31Speaker 3: and it's true. That's it, and it could happen, and
- 23:34Speaker 3: it will, it will. You gotta keep yourself open.
- 23:36Speaker 5: For it when the time is right, yes, exactly. I
- 23:38Speaker 5: mean I have tons of friends. I love their advice.
- 23:40Speaker 5: Or I was like, you know what, Julia, when you
- 23:43Speaker 5: lease expect day, you're prince Charming. I'm like, Charlotte, I
- 23:47Speaker 5: get it, you know, I know what you're trying to say.
- 23:51Speaker 5: But yeah, I mean it's I'm in this new phase
- 23:53Speaker 5: of just uh, just focusing on whatever you want to do. Yeah,
- 23:57Speaker 5: And I mean I'm very family oriented. It's a lot
- 24:00Speaker 5: of putting my family first, putting my career first, putting
- 24:03Speaker 5: all my goals and ambitions first, and then and then
- 24:06Speaker 5: some somewhere along the line somebody will find Yeah, absolutely,
- 24:10Speaker 5: you know, send a long.
- 24:11Speaker 3: Time to get there though, But but that's but you
- 24:14Speaker 3: know what you think about how hard is for women though, Like,
- 24:18Speaker 3: women have it so much harder than men. We have
- 24:20Speaker 3: to go to college, get figure a Korea, have a baby,
- 24:26Speaker 3: get married, have a baby, or have a baby, get
- 24:28Speaker 3: married this day and age doesn't even matter anything. That's
- 24:31Speaker 3: just what doesn't matter what comes first to chick under
- 24:33Speaker 3: the egg. But well we have to do that and
- 24:35Speaker 3: a ten, ten to twelve year period. Men they don't
- 24:39Speaker 3: have to do that.
- 24:40Speaker 5: Shit, They are not really as concerned as we are now.
- 24:43Speaker 3: We're more concerned because we have a shelf life unfortunate
- 24:47Speaker 3: and we still do as much as good as we
- 24:49Speaker 3: still look. Yeah, let's be honest. Nobody wants to date
- 24:53Speaker 3: a cat when they could get a kitten.
- 24:54Speaker 5: That's true.
- 24:55Speaker 4: That's I'm sorry, but that's the way it is.
- 24:58Speaker 3: I am sorry.
- 24:58Speaker 5: I haven't heard that one. I like that.
- 25:00Speaker 3: It's true. They don't want to cat, they want to
- 25:02Speaker 3: get and that's the truth. So we have it so
- 25:05Speaker 3: much harder.
- 25:06Speaker 4: Than they doing.
- 25:06Speaker 5: Men, you know, definitely.
- 25:08Speaker 4: Can well date.
- 25:09Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know if it's as shrowned upon
- 25:12Speaker 3: as as I mean. I know I would never date
- 25:14Speaker 3: anybody younger than me, that much younger me, because I
- 25:16Speaker 3: would feel very creepy dating somebody in my kid's age,
- 25:19Speaker 3: because I would feel like a pedophile.
- 25:21Speaker 4: But men, you know, date women or none of them
- 25:25Speaker 4: all the time.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Yeah, but they can still have babies in their forties
- 25:29Speaker 3: and fifties, and that's okay. We first of all, we're tired.
- 25:33Speaker 4: I don't want I wouldn't want to have a baby
- 25:34Speaker 4: when I'm not as clothes. Yeah, if I ever got pregnant.
- 25:37Speaker 3: Now I see these women like, oh my god, I
- 25:39Speaker 3: just got pregnant at fifty, I go, lady, get the
- 25:44Speaker 3: fuck out of here, hired.
- 25:46Speaker 5: Oh my, I'm just dying.
- 25:47Speaker 3: I want to be a grandmother now. If I ever
- 25:49Speaker 3: got I would just jump right off the building with
- 25:52Speaker 3: headfirst into the into the cements.
- 25:55Speaker 4: If I got pregnant this age, you know, because we
- 25:58Speaker 4: were meant to have baby. Is that to.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Past a certain age? I think, yeah, you know, mid thirties,
- 26:06Speaker 3: going into your forties, okay, but when you start getting
- 26:09Speaker 3: into the lad so you do have there is a
- 26:12Speaker 3: time frame that you want just because your body's tired.
- 26:15Speaker 5: Oh yeah, yeah, that's all your body's letting you know.
- 26:17Speaker 3: But you know, like hey babe, I have to carry
- 26:19Speaker 3: this thing around for nine months, like I need that.
- 26:22Speaker 3: So but you just still you still got a tin
- 26:24Speaker 3: year gap, twelve years. You got time, so you still
- 26:27Speaker 3: could do it. So it there's not that much too
- 26:30Speaker 3: much pressure. But women do have it harder than men,
- 26:34Speaker 3: and we still do. And that's and that's where the
- 26:36Speaker 3: where it comes in and meeting them.
- 26:38Speaker 5: It's priced to being a woman, the price of me.
- 26:41Speaker 4: But I'd rather be a woman any much more than
- 26:43Speaker 4: I would rather be a man.
- 26:44Speaker 3: Sorry, I would.
- 26:45Speaker 4: I think I have a smart species.
- 26:48Speaker 5: Oh we are. Of course, men love to think they're
- 26:51Speaker 5: in control, but it's like, well, you came from us, so.
- 26:54Speaker 3: That is true.
- 26:55Speaker 4: And you know what every behind every strong man is
- 26:57Speaker 4: their strong women, true and they need that strong woman
- 27:01Speaker 4: behind them.
- 27:01Speaker 3: To be successful, which is very true.
- 27:03Speaker 5: Also very true.
- 27:04Speaker 3: But I love that you're traditional for your age because
- 27:08Speaker 3: do you find that too? Do you fly? Could?
- 27:11Speaker 4: Do you find that women are different now like in
- 27:13Speaker 4: your age group? I do?
- 27:16Speaker 5: I think I think in cities. It also depends on
- 27:19Speaker 5: where you live. So a lot of women that live
- 27:21Speaker 5: in larger cities, they have a different viewpoint. They definitely
- 27:25Speaker 5: want their very career oriented and that makes sense. You
- 27:28Speaker 5: came to a big city to excel and do what
- 27:30Speaker 5: you want to do. So I have family lives in Texas,
- 27:33Speaker 5: and it's so funny everybody's in a different stage, like twenties,
- 27:36Speaker 5: you get married, you have babies by you have all
- 27:37Speaker 5: your kids by twenty five. Yeah, so I think it
- 27:40Speaker 5: really it's location based. It depends on where you live.
- 27:43Speaker 5: But yeah, I still think I'm very traditional in that
- 27:46Speaker 5: sort of sense. I grew up both my parents worked,
- 27:49Speaker 5: but my mom always prioritized like being a mom she
- 27:52Speaker 5: wanted to be home for the kids. She had a
- 27:55Speaker 5: daycare in our home so she could be home and
- 27:57Speaker 5: raising my brother and myself also working full time. I
- 28:01Speaker 5: love that she made it work. Yeah, there's always kids around.
- 28:04Speaker 3: So that's you know what. But but that's what I
- 28:07Speaker 3: love about being a woman, Because I say, I don't
- 28:10Speaker 3: want to be a man and I have to work
- 28:11Speaker 3: one hundred hours a week because I have to. I
- 28:14Speaker 3: want to do it because I want to do it,
- 28:16Speaker 3: not because I have to.
- 28:17Speaker 5: I would pressure.
- 28:19Speaker 3: Yes, I want to do it, and I right now
- 28:21Speaker 3: I have my business and I love it, but I
- 28:23Speaker 3: don't want to be that that I want to be.
- 28:25Speaker 3: My kids will come first, and I still want to
- 28:27Speaker 3: be treated like a lady.
- 28:29Speaker 4: I still want my door open for me.
- 28:31Speaker 3: I want to be put on a pedestal, and I
- 28:33Speaker 3: don't think that there's anything wrong with that. People like
- 28:35Speaker 3: am You're not a fam No, I am a feminist
- 28:37Speaker 3: because people they we should be put on a pedestal
- 28:40Speaker 3: and men, men should worship us. I'm sorry, but they should.
- 28:44Speaker 3: I should worship us. We should open the door for us.
- 28:46Speaker 3: They should be clownedro and in the bronx, tell and
- 28:50Speaker 3: make sure that they flipped the button up and open
- 28:52Speaker 3: that door for us to get in, because that is
- 28:55Speaker 3: that just shows this sign of a character for a man.
- 29:01Speaker 4: To know that a woman should be elevated. That there's
- 29:05Speaker 4: nothing wrong with that.
- 29:06Speaker 5: That Yeah, yeah, chivalry is not dead. There are still
- 29:09Speaker 5: men that do open doors for you.
- 29:11Speaker 3: I do, and I still see that, and I love
- 29:14Speaker 3: it even when it guy. Sometimes when kids call me ma'am,
- 29:16Speaker 3: I want to get mad and punch him in the face.
- 29:18Speaker 3: But call me ma'am. But I'm like, okay, it's all right.
- 29:22Speaker 3: There's still being respectful, so I can't get mad like
- 29:26Speaker 3: society wants me to get mad at them, because why
- 29:28Speaker 3: are you calling me ma'am? I'm no, no, but you
- 29:30Speaker 3: know what, there's this a sat of respect that they're
- 29:32Speaker 3: calling me that. It's okay, I'm old enough to be
- 29:34Speaker 3: a man. I need respect that open the fucking door
- 29:37Speaker 3: for me.
- 29:38Speaker 5: If the man comes and be opening the door, I'll
- 29:40Speaker 5: take it.
- 29:41Speaker 4: I'll take it that.
- 29:42Speaker 3: If you want to call me ma'am, that's all right,
- 29:44Speaker 3: you know yea. What have you been doing as far
- 29:47Speaker 3: as your I mean, your social media is great? You know.
- 29:50Speaker 3: I love your own personating you.
- 29:52Speaker 5: Thank you? Yes more so now I'm developing vertical series.
- 29:57Speaker 5: So the new thing I think that, I mean, it
- 30:00Speaker 5: always gonna be comedy. I'm still auditioning whether that's roles.
- 30:03Speaker 5: I actually am in a new movie. It's coming out
- 30:05Speaker 5: in select theaters. It's called Influenced. It's written and also
- 30:08Speaker 5: stars Jill Kargman and I play plates instructors. So it's
- 30:12Speaker 5: coming out two months I think. But but yeah, so
- 30:16Speaker 5: that was really fun to do, and I'm hoping that
- 30:18Speaker 5: leads to more roles, whether that's small or large. But
- 30:23Speaker 5: I'm auditioning for a lot of comedy roles, but then
- 30:25Speaker 5: also I'm interested in a little bit more serious roles.
- 30:28Speaker 5: I would love to do a little CSI, a little
- 30:30Speaker 5: Law and Order. I mean, those are always the fun
- 30:32Speaker 5: to go into because that's a classic. I mean. But yes,
- 30:36Speaker 5: like I said, I'm writing more vertical series and developing
- 30:40Speaker 5: series for brands, and I think brands are kind of
- 30:42Speaker 5: getting into the more scripted space, so that's always been
- 30:45Speaker 5: my goal. I started with Comedy Central working on digital sketches,
- 30:48Speaker 5: and so I'm using that and taking it over to
- 30:51Speaker 5: the brand side. Because I do a lot of I
- 30:52Speaker 5: work with a lot of brands. You know, you do
- 30:53Speaker 5: a lot of influencer that pays the bills, and that's
- 30:57Speaker 5: really fun. And so I've been able to kind of
- 30:58Speaker 5: combine all my worlds and that's now what I'm working on.
- 31:01Speaker 3: I love that. Do you take acting classes too? Well?
- 31:04Speaker 5: Actually it's funny. I was in acting classes for a
- 31:06Speaker 5: little bit and now I'm on a pause. But but
- 31:10Speaker 5: you have to continue your craft at all times, like
- 31:12Speaker 5: whenever you're I mean Denzel Washington, he's like famous for
- 31:16Speaker 5: still taking acting classes yourself.
- 31:18Speaker 3: I listened Katherine, my friend Katherine, she's in the Active
- 31:22Speaker 3: studio every day. I got. I got a very look.
- 31:25Speaker 4: I got to go into go to the Active studio.
- 31:27Speaker 5: How is that?
- 31:29Speaker 3: It was an experience? It was pretty cool.
- 31:32Speaker 4: I'm going to take a workshop. I do take acting classes.
- 31:36Speaker 3: I do take him now, I do him once a week,
- 31:38Speaker 3: Zoom with an acting coach, which is really good. Dennis White,
- 31:40Speaker 3: he's awesome. He's been in Annis. Shout out to shout
- 31:44Speaker 3: out to Dennis.
- 31:45Speaker 5: I'm gonna get in there with him.
- 31:46Speaker 3: He's really good. He's been in a lot of he's
- 31:48Speaker 3: been in a lot of movies, a lot of scripted series.
- 31:52Speaker 3: And now I'm going to take a workshop in the
- 31:54Speaker 3: summer time. So I'm excited. You know what is I
- 31:57Speaker 3: think the workshops are because I mean, obviously I work
- 32:00Speaker 3: full time because I have a business. So when you
- 32:02Speaker 3: do acting classes, you got to be there. Sometimes there
- 32:05Speaker 3: are twelve hours a day every day. I can't.
- 32:07Speaker 4: I mean, I have to pay the bills. If I
- 32:09Speaker 4: was somebody's gotta keep the lights on.
- 32:11Speaker 3: If I was twenty years old and I was still
- 32:12Speaker 3: living home my parents, I could do that. Or if
- 32:15Speaker 3: I was independently wealthy and you know, do it for fun,
- 32:18Speaker 3: I can just go do it for fun every day.
- 32:20Speaker 3: But unfortunately I fall in between those two. Yep, so
- 32:24Speaker 3: you still have to work. But now I'm gonna start. Yeah,
- 32:27Speaker 3: I'm gonna do a six week course in the summer
- 32:30Speaker 3: time and do it. I think it's like six hours
- 32:32Speaker 3: a day, so I'm gonna I'm gonna do it. But
- 32:35Speaker 3: they said you could do it anytime during the day,
- 32:37Speaker 3: so I could still work and then go either go
- 32:39Speaker 3: at night or go in the morning. So if I
- 32:41Speaker 3: have to go to see patients to pay the bills,
- 32:45Speaker 3: then I could do that. But yeah, I mean I
- 32:46Speaker 3: think it's important, you know, I think for actors Oh.
- 32:50Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, you got It's it's a skill. It's like
- 32:51Speaker 5: a muscle. You just have to keep on working to
- 32:53Speaker 5: do it.
- 32:54Speaker 4: You have to.
- 32:54Speaker 3: I really do believe in some kind of training, because
- 32:57Speaker 3: you really have to know how to throw. You have
- 32:59Speaker 3: to to to you know, to you know, do a line,
- 33:03Speaker 3: and to understand the concept. You know, some people could
- 33:06Speaker 3: naturally act, but not really. I think you have to
- 33:10Speaker 3: develop the craft.
- 33:11Speaker 5: I mean, there's something, there's some talent that will just
- 33:15Speaker 5: be transcending from all you know, the Leonardo DiCaprio's, the
- 33:19Speaker 5: brad Pits, the Denzels, those are they're born with something.
- 33:22Speaker 5: But but yeah, it is it is a skill that
- 33:25Speaker 5: can be worked over time. For sure. I've always felt
- 33:27Speaker 5: that I was born with the gift of doing reading
- 33:31Speaker 5: somebody's body language and like picking it up and I
- 33:33Speaker 5: can impersonate them. Yeah, but that's all also a skill
- 33:37Speaker 5: that you really have to work at too. It's not
- 33:39Speaker 5: just you know, I think you can be born with
- 33:42Speaker 5: certain skills that can help you become like a tremendous actor.
- 33:45Speaker 5: But then there's also the skills that are told are
- 33:47Speaker 5: completely learned and they're worked on over years and years
- 33:51Speaker 5: and years.
- 33:52Speaker 4: Did you ever go to like a comedic class or
- 33:55Speaker 4: anything like that.
- 33:56Speaker 5: Did you have a I never did. It was more
- 33:58Speaker 5: like workshops, impressions. I was only a hobby for mine.
- 34:02Speaker 5: It was a passion. I loved to impersonate my friends,
- 34:04Speaker 5: my teachers, old you know, grandparents. And then it wasn't
- 34:09Speaker 5: until in twenty nineteen I had made an Instagram for
- 34:12Speaker 5: it and I was discovered by a casting director for
- 34:13Speaker 5: this like comedy show. That's how I got representation was
- 34:17Speaker 5: from that whole experience. But until then it wasn't. I
- 34:20Speaker 5: wasn't taking it seriously like a like an actual skill
- 34:23Speaker 5: that I could live off of. I was like, there's
- 34:25Speaker 5: no way I would take this anywhere. But so yeah,
- 34:27Speaker 5: So now now it's my goal that I have a
- 34:30Speaker 5: little bit more. I'm single, Now I have a lit
- 34:33Speaker 5: I can give my attention to a lot of things
- 34:35Speaker 5: that I've always wanted to and I think, yeah, I
- 34:38Speaker 5: would love to take more actually comedy classes where I
- 34:42Speaker 5: could like hone in on that skill, whether that's stand up.
- 34:44Speaker 5: I mean, stand up is just an amazing skill to have,
- 34:46Speaker 5: just public speaking, being more confident, those are all things
- 34:50Speaker 5: you learn and taking a stand up class, I.
- 34:52Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure, I mean, you would be a great comedian.
- 34:54Speaker 3: Do you want to do you want to be a
- 34:56Speaker 3: stand up? Would you do stand up?
- 34:58Speaker 5: You know I used to do stand up. I I started
- 35:00Speaker 5: when I was seventeen in high school. I remember there
- 35:02Speaker 5: was this little club near my house and my parents
- 35:03Speaker 5: would take me after school and I would and I
- 35:05Speaker 5: would do stand up. My mom said, this is this
- 35:07Speaker 5: is what you're gonna do. We've decided. And you know,
- 35:10Speaker 5: as time went on, I think in my early twenties,
- 35:12Speaker 5: I started to get really really nervous and I didn't
- 35:14Speaker 5: love it anymore.
- 35:15Speaker 4: So I definitely would go back to it.
- 35:17Speaker 5: And but I don't know if I'm I'm not up
- 35:19Speaker 5: for the extremely taxing life that goes with touring.
- 35:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:23Speaker 5: And when you say it's extremely it's very very hard
- 35:26Speaker 5: and you have to have.
- 35:27Speaker 3: And it's very it is a lot of it's very competitive.
- 35:31Speaker 5: Extremely competitive, and you have to be willing to put
- 35:33Speaker 5: years into it to it. I mean the Nikki Glazers.
- 35:36Speaker 5: I mean, I can name a thousand comedians that I'm
- 35:38Speaker 5: absolutely in love with. But you know, Nicki Glazer didn't
- 35:40Speaker 5: get the well deserved fame that she that she has
- 35:44Speaker 5: now and years into the industry, you know what I mean.
- 35:46Speaker 5: Twenty twenty years and now she's getting the recognition that honestly,
- 35:50Speaker 5: I feel like she always should have had within like
- 35:51Speaker 5: five years of working. But now she's doing the huge
- 35:54Speaker 5: she's booking the huge roles and the hosting the award shows,
- 35:57Speaker 5: which is incredible, as she should.
- 35:59Speaker 4: But it took years.
- 36:00Speaker 5: Yeah, it really did take painstaking. You have to be
- 36:03Speaker 5: married to that, I think. And so I'm willing. I
- 36:06Speaker 5: want to work in comedy, but I don't know if
- 36:08Speaker 5: that means writing comedy or start, you know, acting, But
- 36:12Speaker 5: the stand up I think I've given up on that.
- 36:15Speaker 5: That like touring dream.
- 36:16Speaker 4: Yeah, but that's part of the comedy. You have to
- 36:19Speaker 4: do the touring.
- 36:20Speaker 3: You get up there. It's like you can't jump this
- 36:22Speaker 3: turnstyle with that, ya, you have to do that. You
- 36:25Speaker 3: have to put the bones in. And comics. I'm around
- 36:29Speaker 3: a lot of comics and they'll say, oh, well, hasn't
- 36:32Speaker 3: been in the clubs this law why are they doing
- 36:35Speaker 3: Because there's been a lot of also social media people
- 36:37Speaker 3: who are out doing comedy shows yep, that were never comedians,
- 36:41Speaker 3: and they're getting the real comics to saying, oh, why
- 36:45Speaker 3: are they doing this? But if you think about it,
- 36:48Speaker 3: they get the people that are their fans on social
- 36:50Speaker 3: media to come see them. Yes, so that's why they
- 36:55Speaker 3: that's why they're able to do that. But now if
- 36:56Speaker 3: they were really out there doing comedy, are their comedy
- 36:59Speaker 3: show was really that funny to.
- 37:03Speaker 5: To the point where they should be having those huge audiences?
- 37:05Speaker 3: Right? Yeah, to the point you know, it's you know,
- 37:07Speaker 3: are they or are they just they just giving themselves
- 37:10Speaker 3: to just a specific audience. Yeah, what it.
- 37:12Speaker 5: Is they have to prove themselves and there's ways ways
- 37:14Speaker 5: of doing that, you know, just continuing repetition and doing
- 37:17Speaker 5: the shows. But my goal has always been a one
- 37:20Speaker 5: woman show where I'm able to do my my voices,
- 37:23Speaker 5: do my original characters, do a little bit of stand up,
- 37:26Speaker 5: because that's from my past. So, uh, I think that
- 37:29Speaker 5: that would be like my my goal that I'm working
- 37:31Speaker 5: on to do a one I think it'd definitely. It
- 37:35Speaker 5: mixes a lot of stuff. It's more of like a
- 37:37Speaker 5: theatrical one woman show where you have a bunch of
- 37:39Speaker 5: stuff that compiles all of my previous I've had my
- 37:43Speaker 5: hands in a lot of different things in the media industry,
- 37:45Speaker 5: news reporting, radio, podcasting, voice over work, you name it.
- 37:49Speaker 5: So I think this would be like the culmination of
- 37:50Speaker 5: all that put together, like the The Andre Lopez Show,
- 37:53Speaker 5: and then it's just me with a thousand wigs coming
- 37:54Speaker 5: out and doing different things on your own exactly exactly,
- 37:59Speaker 5: so that in the works that's always been you know,
- 38:01Speaker 5: I've written parts of it, but I got to put
- 38:03Speaker 5: it together, and I think, yeah, that's that's.
- 38:05Speaker 3: That's that's going to be the end the goal. Yes,
- 38:09Speaker 3: that's what you want to do. Yes, I think that
- 38:10Speaker 3: that would be great.
- 38:11Speaker 5: Yeah, I would have so much fun with that. And
- 38:14Speaker 5: I've just never taken the time. I mean, you really
- 38:15Speaker 5: have to. You have to want that has to be
- 38:18Speaker 5: like the one goal that you work on. So because
- 38:20Speaker 5: I've have my head in so many different places, but
- 38:23Speaker 5: for sure, in the next like three years, that's my goal.
- 38:25Speaker 3: That's your goal is just thought that and execute that.
- 38:28Speaker 5: And see it through. Yes, yeah, and you will.
- 38:31Speaker 4: You aren't ready now, now you'll be ready.
- 38:34Speaker 3: You got to do it when you're ready, because if
- 38:35Speaker 3: you don't do it before you're ready, it's not going
- 38:38Speaker 3: to work. It won't worry and then you're not going
- 38:40Speaker 3: to be happy doing it. You want to do it
- 38:42Speaker 3: when you're ready and you want to do it, because
- 38:46Speaker 3: then it'll succeed. Because if you're not jack of all trades,
- 38:49Speaker 3: master of none, right, yes, yes, not saying that you're
- 38:53Speaker 3: not brilliant and everything you do very but if you
- 38:58Speaker 3: if you don't, if you have hands in so many
- 39:01Speaker 3: different things, something is.
- 39:03Speaker 4: Gonna fall short.
- 39:04Speaker 3: Right whereas you just focused on that one thing that's
- 39:07Speaker 3: going to propel you into where you want to be,
- 39:09Speaker 3: you know, So you know that's that's that's I mean
- 39:14Speaker 3: now in my life as I'm older now, so now
- 39:16Speaker 3: my business is kind of my business is there, it's successful,
- 39:20Speaker 3: So now I can do other things where I can
- 39:23Speaker 3: focus on something else that I enjoy enjoy doing.
- 39:26Speaker 4: Is it going to be?
- 39:27Speaker 3: I don't know where it's gonna take me right now,
- 39:30Speaker 3: but you know, at this point, I don't care where
- 39:31Speaker 3: it takes me. If it's making me happy doing it.
- 39:34Speaker 3: I'm happy because I'm I'm you know, I'm a lot
- 39:37Speaker 3: older than you. So I'm just doing it. That's because
- 39:39Speaker 3: it's going to make me have fun. I enjoy doing it,
- 39:42Speaker 3: you know, And you guys do that's what you have
- 39:44Speaker 3: to do too, that you get to that that situation
- 39:47Speaker 3: in your life. The time of your life when you're
- 39:49Speaker 3: ready to focus on that one thing and you'll do it,
- 39:51Speaker 3: and you will and that's exciting. What about are you
- 39:54Speaker 3: still doing the podcast?
- 39:56Speaker 5: Yes, we took We took a little bit of a
- 39:57Speaker 5: summer break and now we're kind of repurposing it. So
- 40:01Speaker 5: it's Big Wigs podcast with my co host, Anna Royceman.
- 40:03Speaker 5: She does a lot of stand up. She's incredible. She's
- 40:07Speaker 5: also a woman of many things, and so yeah, we've
- 40:12Speaker 5: been doing the podcast for a while now. It's really fun.
- 40:13Speaker 5: We utilize our voices, so it's it's a lot of characters.
- 40:16Speaker 5: Whenever we have she does impressions as well. So whenever
- 40:18Speaker 5: we have a character that's in the news for whatever reason,
- 40:21Speaker 5: we play it out. Yeah, and that's been so fun.
- 40:23Speaker 5: She does Chris Jenner, I do Courtney Kardashian, she does
- 40:26Speaker 5: Fran Dresher. I do Jennifer Coolidge. So we have a
- 40:28Speaker 5: lot of characters that kind of mesh together, and it's
- 40:30Speaker 5: really fun to put them in the same room together.
- 40:32Speaker 3: Who's your favorite character?
- 40:35Speaker 5: Did I impersonate?
- 40:36Speaker 3: You know?
- 40:37Speaker 5: It changes, But recently I've had so much fun doing
- 40:40Speaker 5: Teresa Judice and that's because a lot of people you
- 40:43Speaker 5: know in Jersey, they they know it so well. Yeah,
- 40:46Speaker 5: and so it's been really fun. But you know, from
- 40:49Speaker 5: the reality TV world, I would say her and then
- 40:53Speaker 5: Sophia Bergara for a long time. I have a lot
- 40:55Speaker 5: of fun with her too, because she's all over the place. Yeah,
- 40:57Speaker 5: she's doing a GT I know, you're everywhere. She has
- 41:01Speaker 5: an Banada line with her son, and she has fancy Walmart.
- 41:07Speaker 5: I mean, I mean, I do it all. I love
- 41:10Speaker 5: her because god dammage, she will do it all. She's
- 41:12Speaker 5: got sponsorships out of the butt.
- 41:14Speaker 3: Yeah, she is amazing.
- 41:16Speaker 5: It's such a star.
- 41:17Speaker 4: She her Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee.
- 41:21Speaker 3: Karn It's all over the place, superstars, the three of
- 41:24Speaker 3: them the last four to three years. Yeah, that's you
- 41:28Speaker 3: see the three of them definitely everywhere then everything, yeah,
- 41:32Speaker 3: well and and everywhere. It's so funny. And I love
- 41:35Speaker 3: Sophia's and she's beautiful, and she's ever since she was.
- 41:39Speaker 5: On a Family Oh my god, so good, so good, great.
- 41:45Speaker 3: Great fucking show. Yeah.
- 41:47Speaker 4: I mean Al from from Married with Children was her
- 41:49Speaker 4: husband on this show.
- 41:51Speaker 3: I mean, now, Bundy, that was my generation that they
- 41:55Speaker 3: couldn't have a show like that today because it when
- 41:57Speaker 3: it's too many people.
- 41:58Speaker 5: Definitely not, definitely not, but hon Ourn Family was kind
- 42:00Speaker 5: of like that new family dynamic comedy drama type of show, sitcom.
- 42:06Speaker 4: Love that so good?
- 42:07Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean that would be that'd be great. Talk
- 42:10Speaker 5: about a dream a dream job would be landing one
- 42:12Speaker 5: of those things that like goes from seasons and seasons.
- 42:14Speaker 5: And you developed such a character from that show.
- 42:17Speaker 4: Oh my god, Like I could see you being on
- 42:19Speaker 4: a show like that.
- 42:20Speaker 5: Oh my god, yes, thank you, I could.
- 42:22Speaker 4: I could see you being on something like that.
- 42:24Speaker 5: Just gotta keep it moving, keep it moving, keep it moving,
- 42:27Speaker 5: just when you think. I mean, this industry is full
- 42:29Speaker 5: of ups and downs, but even in your lowest moments,
- 42:31Speaker 5: you just have to keep reminding yourself. You're gonna get
- 42:33Speaker 5: that call soon. There's gonna be a new opportunity. You
- 42:36Speaker 5: never know what's gonna happen. You never know who you're
- 42:38Speaker 5: gonna meet that leads you to somewhere else. It's just
- 42:40Speaker 5: all about the connections and just continuing, continuing, continuation. How
- 42:45Speaker 5: many times I've had to have that pep talk in myself,
- 42:47Speaker 5: Oh my god.
- 42:47Speaker 3: Well, you know what, and you're still young, so you
- 42:50Speaker 3: have you have time, you still have your life ahead
- 42:54Speaker 3: of you.
