December 30 - Becoming Who We Will Be · Bible Chat Devotional

• 0:02
Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
• 0:06
rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, December 30th, Shaped
• 0:11
for glory. Have you ever felt pressure to
• 0:14
become a version of yourself that isn't even you?
• 0:16
Like you're constantly being shaped by trends, opinions,
• 0:19
comparison, and expectations. But God is shaping you too, and
• 0:23
His shaping is freedom, not fake.
• 0:25
Psalm 149 verse one says praise the Lord.
• 0:29
Sing to the Lord a new song. His praise in the assembly of
• 0:32
the godly worship is part of your transformation.
• 0:36
When you praise God, you're reminding your heart who He is
• 0:39
and who you are in Him. First John chapter 3, verses 2
• 0:42
to 3 says, Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will
• 0:46
be has not yet appeared. But we know that when He
• 0:48
appears, we shall be like Him, and everyone who thus hopes in
• 0:52
Him purifies himself as He is pure.
• 0:55
That is such a deep promise. You are already God's child, and
• 0:58
God is making you more like Jesus.
• 1:00
Not by pretending, not by performing.
• 1:03
  By hope. That purifies hope.
• 1:05
That changes what you want, what you love, and what you choose.
• 1:08
In Romans chapter 12, verse 2 tells you how that happens.
• 1:12
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the
• 1:15
renewal of your mind. Conformed means pressed into a
• 1:19
  mold. Transformed means changed from
• 1:21
the inside out. God renews your mind through His
• 1:24
Word, through prayer, through worship, and through daily
• 1:27
surrender. That's how you start discerning
• 1:29
what God's will is, what is good, acceptable, and perfect,
• 1:33
so you're not stuck being who the world labels you as.
• 1:36
You're being shaped for glory. You're becoming more like Jesus.
• 1:40
One thought at a time, one choice at a time. 1 surrendered
• 1:43
moment at a time. Let's pray.
• 1:45
Heavenly Father, thank You that I am your child right now and
• 1:49
that You are shaping me to be like Jesus.
• 1:51
Help me resist being conformed to the world's mold, renew my
• 1:55
mind with Your truth, and transform my heart with Your
• 1:57
Spirit. Let my worship be real, my life,
• 2:00
my choices, my words, so I reflect Your glory.
• 2:03
Keep purifying me through hope and lead me in what is good and
• 2:06
pleasing to You in Jesus name, Amen.
• 2:09

Psalm 149 World English Bible Praise Yahweh.
• 3:25
Sing to Yahweh a new song, His praise in the assembly of the
• 3:28
Saints. Let Israel rejoice in Him who
• 3:31
made them. Let the children of Zion be
• 3:33
joyful in their king. Let them praise His name in the
• 3:36
dance. Let them sing praises to Him
• 3:38
with tambourine and harp. For Yahweh takes pleasure in His
• 3:41
people. He crowns the humble with
• 3:43
salvation. Let the Saints rejoice in honor.
• 3:46
Let them sing for joy on their beds.
• 3:49
May the high praises of God be in their mouths, and A2 edged
• 3:52
sword in their hand. To execute vengeance on the
• 3:55
nations, and punishments on the peoples, To bind their kings
• 3:58
with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron.
• 4:02
To execute on them the written judgment.
• 4:04
All his Saints have this honor. Praise Yah first.
• 4:07
John 3. Two to three world English
• 4:09
Bible. Beloved, now we are children of
• 4:11
God. It is not yet revealed what we
• 4:13
will be, but we know that when He is revealed we will be like
• 4:17
Him, for we will see Him just as He is.
• 4:20
Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself even as
• 4:24
He is pure. First Corinthians 15 World
• 4:27
English Bible Now I declare to you, brothers, the good news
• 4:31
which I preach to you, which also you received, in which you
• 4:34
also stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold firmly
• 4:37
the Word which I preach to you, unless you believed in vain.
• 4:41
For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received,
• 4:45
that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
• 4:48
that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day
• 4:51
according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Cephas, then
• 4:54
to the 12. Then He appeared to over 500
• 4:57
brothers at once, most of whom remain until now, but some have
• 5:01
also fallen asleep. Then He appeared to James, then
• 5:05
to all the apostles, and last of all, as to the child born at the
• 5:08
wrong time, He appeared to me also.
• 5:11
For I am the least of the apostles who is not worthy to be
• 5:14
called an apostle, because I persecuted the Assembly of God.
• 5:18
But by the grace of God I am what I am.
• 5:21
His grace which was given to me was not futile, but I worked
• 5:24
more than all of them, Yet not I, but the grace of God which
• 5:27
was with me. Whether then it is I or they.
• 5:30
So we preach, and so you believed.
• 5:32
Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the
• 5:35
dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of
• 5:38
the dead? But if there is no resurrection
• 5:41
of the dead, neither has Christ been raised.
• 5:43
If Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain,
• 5:47
and your faith also is in vain. Yes, we are also found false
• 5:51
witnesses of God, because we testified about God that He
• 5:54
raised up Christ, whom He didn't raise up.
• 5:56
If it is true that the dead are not raised.
• 5:59
For if the dead aren't raised, neither has Christ been raised.
• 6:02
If Christ has not been raised, your faith is vain, you are
• 6:06
still in your sins. Then they also who are fallen
• 6:08
asleep in Christ have perished. If we have only hoped in Christ
• 6:12
in this life we are of all men most pitiable.
• 6:15
But now Christ has been raised from the dead.
• 6:17
He became the first fruit of those who are asleep.
• 6:20
For since death came by man, the resurrection of the dead also
• 6:23
came by man. For as in Adam all die, so also
• 6:27
in Christ all will be made alive, but each in his own
• 6:30
order. Christ the first fruits, then
• 6:32
those who are Christ's at his coming.
• 6:34
Then the end comes, when he will deliver up the Kingdom to God
• 6:37
the Father, when he will have abolished all rule, and all
• 6:40
authority and power. For he must reign until he has
• 6:43
put all his enemies under his feet.
• 6:46
The last enemy that will be abolished is death, for he put
• 6:49
all things in subjection under his feet.
• 6:52
But when he says all things are put in subjection, it is evident
• 6:56
that He is accepted. Who subjected all things to Him?
• 6:59
When all things have been subjected to him, then the Son
• 7:02
will also himself be subjected to him.
• 7:04
Who subjected all things to him, that God may be All in all.
• 7:08
Or else what will they do who are baptized for the dead?
• 7:11
If the dead aren't raised at all, why then are they baptized
• 7:14
for the dead? Why do we also stand in jeopardy
• 7:16
every hour? I affirm by the boasting in you
• 7:20
which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
• 7:23
If I fought with animals at Ephesus for human purposes, what
• 7:26
does it profit me? If the dead are not raised, then
• 7:29
let's eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.
• 7:32
Don't be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good
• 7:35
morals. Wake up righteously and don't
• 7:37
sin, for some have no knowledge of God.
• 7:39
I say this to your shame, but someone will say, how are the
• 7:43
dead raised, and with what kind of body do they come, You
• 7:46
foolish one? That which yourself sow is not
• 7:48
made alive unless it dies. That which you sow you don't sow
• 7:52
the body that will be but a bare grain, maybe of wheat or of some
• 7:55
other kind. But God gives it a body even as
• 7:58
it pleased Him, and to each seat a body of its own.
• 8:01
All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one flesh of men,
• 8:05
another flesh of animals, another of fish, and another of
• 8:08
birds. There are also celestial bodies
• 8:11
and terrestrial bodies, but the glory of the celestial differs
• 8:14
from that of the terrestrial. There is one glory of the sun,
• 8:18
another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars.
• 8:22
For one star differs from another star in glory.
• 8:25
So also is the resurrection of the dead.
• 8:27
The body is sown perishable. It is raised imperishable.
• 8:31
It is sown in dishonor. It is raised in glory.
• 8:34
It is sown in weakness. It is raised in power.
• 8:37
It is sown a natural body. It is raised a spiritual body.
• 8:41
There is a natural body and there is also a spiritual body.
• 8:44
So also it is written. The first man, Adam, became a
• 8:47
living soul. The last Adam became a life
• 8:50
giving spirit. However, that which is spiritual
• 8:53
isn't first, but that which is natural.
• 8:55
Then that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth
• 8:58
made of dust. The second man is the Lord from
• 9:01
heaven, as is the one made of dust.
• 9:04
Such are those who are also made of dust, and as is the heavenly,
• 9:07
such are they also that are heavenly.
• 9:10
As we have borne the image of those made of dust, let's also
• 9:13
bear the image of the heavenly. Now I say this, brothers, that
• 9:16
flesh and blood can't inherit God's Kingdom, neither does the
• 9:20
perishable inherit imperishable. Behold, I tell you a mystery.
• 9:25
We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed in a moment,
• 9:28
in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.
• 9:31
For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised
• 9:33
incorruptible, and we will be changed.
• 9:36
For this perishable body must become imperishable, and this
• 9:39
mortal must put on immortality. But when this perishable body
• 9:43
will have become imperishable, and this mortal will have put on
• 9:46
immortality, then what is written will happen.
• 9:49
Death is swallowed up in victory.
• 9:51
Death, where is your sting? Hades, where's your victory?
• 9:55
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
• 9:58
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord
• 10:01
Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers,
• 10:04
be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord's work,
• 10:08
because you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
• 10:11
Romans 12/1 to two world English Bible.
• 10:15
Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to
• 10:18
present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to
• 10:22
God, which is your spiritual service.
• 10:24
Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the
• 10:28
renewing of your mind so that you may prove what is the good,
• 10:31
well pleasing, and perfect will of God.
