- 2:58Speaker 3: to call Again an Earth? August twelfth, all right.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Gears of War is very popular game video game, and
- 3:10Speaker 1: it's been kicked around the whole idea of a movie.
- 3:13Speaker 3: It has been kicked around Hollywood for a while. Well,
- 3:16Speaker 3: Gears of War.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Now Netflix has grabbed it and they said, we need
- 3:20Speaker 1: a good action director because there's.
- 3:22Speaker 3: A lot of action. So let's get that guy, that
- 3:26Speaker 3: fall guy that was a good movie, a movie, underrated movie.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Let's get the director there, David Leech to do that.
- 3:33Speaker 1: So he is now developing a Gears of War movie
- 3:37Speaker 1: for Netflix. So we'll see what happens. Let's see conn
- 3:43Speaker 1: The Con Film Festival is happening on now and JJ
- 3:47Speaker 1: Abrams is there shopping around a project that he wants
- 3:50Speaker 1: somebody to pick up. He says he's got Brie Larson
- 3:53Speaker 1: involved as well, so he's just walking around with a
- 3:56Speaker 1: cup in his hand asking for money.
- 3:58Speaker 3: What is it.
- 3:59Speaker 1: It's a short story called Failsafe, So that means they'll
- 4:02Speaker 1: have to add on to it.
- 4:03Speaker 3: If it's just a short story.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Based on a short story by Philip Frakazi about a
- 4:10Speaker 1: young boy whose father spends a large amount of time
- 4:13Speaker 1: making sure that his mother doesn't kill everyone because she
- 4:17Speaker 1: turns into a monster.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Okay, I'm in no, that's your elevator pitch. Yes, that's
- 4:23Speaker 3: the elevator pitch.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Seems to me he should have no trouble getting his
- 4:28Speaker 1: cup full of money while he's there.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Hunger Games. They've made six of these movies.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Yep.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't realize.
- 4:36Speaker 2: And I haven't seen one of them.
- 4:37Speaker 3: You haven't even seen one of them. I've seen one.
- 4:39Speaker 3: I saw the first one and it wasn't bad.
- 4:43Speaker 1: But they're they're doing prequels now, and so they're starting
- 4:48Speaker 1: to do some casting. And the latest book is called
- 4:50Speaker 1: Sunrise on the Reaping. Okay, and they have found their
- 4:54Speaker 1: President Snow.
- 4:56Speaker 3: So President Snow was Donald Southern. That was Donald Sutherland.
- 4:59Speaker 3: So a young, young version that would have that's what
- 5:04Speaker 3: they should what I would have done.
- 5:05Speaker 1: But you know, when you can get a guy who
- 5:07Speaker 1: was nominated for an oscar, why not get Ray Fines?
- 5:11Speaker 3: Oh okay, Ray Fines as presidents.
- 5:16Speaker 1: So there's that and also some other casting that Glenn
- 5:20Speaker 1: Close is apparently talking about joining the cast somehow, but anyway,
- 5:25Speaker 1: that'll be interesting. I didn't realize they made six of
- 5:27Speaker 1: those movies though.
- 5:29Speaker 2: The uh.
- 5:31Speaker 1: I don't know if we call it a reboot or not,
- 5:33Speaker 1: but the continuation new version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer
- 5:38Speaker 1: has cast Ryan Kira Armstrong from Star Wars Skeleton Crew
- 5:42Speaker 1: as the new Slayer, and Sarah Michelle Geller is involved
- 5:46Speaker 1: with it. She's the one who broke the news to her,
- 5:49Speaker 1: as you.
