- 0:11Speaker 1: Hey, let's stick some calls. Eight hundred three to two
- 0:14Speaker 1: one zero seven ten is the number. Let's go to
- 0:17Speaker 1: Mike in Brooklyn. Mike, how you doing?
- 0:20Speaker 2: Hey, good morning, Mark, Mark. I'm just calling.
- 0:22Speaker 3: I know on Tuesday truck President Trump spoke in Pennsylvania
- 0:25Speaker 3: about working on Nashville concil carry reciprocity. Do you think
- 0:29Speaker 3: we'll finally get some traction with it? Because I know he's.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Been What did you say, I spoke about?
- 0:35Speaker 2: Oh, the National Conceal Carry reciprocity.
- 0:37Speaker 1: The National concealed Carry reciprocity. You gotta be careful. People
- 0:43Speaker 1: are listening while they're driving in the car. We don't
- 0:45Speaker 1: want him to doze off if we If we say
- 0:48Speaker 1: we're going to be talking about the National carry conceal reciprocity,
- 0:53Speaker 1: people just go, uh, do you have another subject?
- 0:58Speaker 2: Well, he's been mentioning it since his first term.
- 1:00Speaker 1: You know, I've been careful not to pay attention to
- 1:03Speaker 1: the I'm gonna do that to some people do that
- 1:06Speaker 1: all day today? Is anybody what do you think about
- 1:08Speaker 1: the national carry concealed reciprocity. Does that have to do
- 1:13Speaker 1: with guns?
- 1:14Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a big issue.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Now translated into English for US, what does it mean?
- 1:22Speaker 1: It means a right to carry a gun.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Different state lines. You state that you're allowed to go
- 1:29Speaker 2: to different Yeah.
- 1:30Speaker 1: People might not realize you get a gun permit. It's
- 1:31Speaker 1: not easy to do. But let's say somehow you got
- 1:33Speaker 1: a gun permit for New York. You can't go into
- 1:36Speaker 1: Connecticut with it. It's it's only valid in New York.
- 1:39Speaker 1: So it's a big problem for private eyes. You know
- 1:42Speaker 1: that they're chasing somebody or fat they're tailing somebody. A
- 1:45Speaker 1: private eyes got his New York gun permit and he's
- 1:48Speaker 1: tailing somebody, and they go into Greenwich, Connecticut, which is
- 1:51Speaker 1: right over the state line. They have to stop. They
- 1:54Speaker 1: can't take their gun into Connecticut. It's a crime. Uh.
- 1:56Speaker 1: There is such a thing as a national permit, very
- 1:59Speaker 1: hard to get. So what's the present trying to do?
- 2:01Speaker 1: Create it? So your permital work in any state?
- 2:04Speaker 2: Yeah, he's trying to pass a bilt.
- 2:05Speaker 3: So let's say that your licensed in New York, you're
- 2:07Speaker 3: able to carry across New Jersey, Connecticut as long as
- 2:10Speaker 3: your license in one state, you're able to go to another.
- 2:12Speaker 1: And do you carry a gun?
- 2:15Speaker 2: Yes? I do.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I could see why you needed all right, And
- 2:18Speaker 1: so what do you do with your gun if you
- 2:20Speaker 1: have to go to Connecticut?
- 2:22Speaker 3: Well, I am licensed over there, but you know not
- 2:25Speaker 3: every is licensed in multiple seats.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Yeah, no, it's not easy. All right. Well, thanks for
- 2:29Speaker 1: clearing it up for us. Take care. Let's go to
- 2:31Speaker 1: Mike and Florida. Mike, how you doing, good morning, Mark, Yes, Mike.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Two quick things.
- 2:38Speaker 4: The one I read that online that excuse me, the
- 2:42Speaker 4: estate of Leonard Cohen is objecting to them using the
- 2:46Speaker 4: song Hallelujah for these two hundred and fiftieth celebration.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Where are we getting Where are we getting these subjects
- 2:54Speaker 1: a national carry, concealed reciprocity and the estate of Leonard.
- 2:59Speaker 4: For those Well, yeah, there's there's another one.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Normal Leonard Cohen. He was some kind of folks sing
- 3:06Speaker 1: or something in the sixties fifties.
- 3:08Speaker 4: Yeah, fifty years ago, and they're worried about two hundred
- 3:11Speaker 4: and fifty million people hearing a song they haven't heard.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Okay, But Leonard Cohen was like a very obscure musical figure.
- 3:17Speaker 1: He was like a very fifteenth string Bob Dylan kind
- 3:20Speaker 1: of a guy, right, Yes, So what.
- 3:23Speaker 2: I have another question?
- 3:24Speaker 1: What kind of a state could this guy have had
- 3:26Speaker 1: a dollar fifties?
- 3:27Speaker 4: I can't imagine exactly. I can't imagine, although that song
- 3:31Speaker 4: Hallelujah is fairly you know, fairly popular in quotes. But yeah,
- 3:39Speaker 4: I knew that. I know that Sinatra like was pretty
- 3:42Speaker 4: fond of Dinah Shore. Did you know Dinah? And what
- 3:45Speaker 4: was she like? Was she is cute and cuddly and
- 3:48Speaker 4: person that she seems to be on the air.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Well, you got a thing for Dinah Shore, isn't it.
- 3:53Speaker 4: I just well, you know, it's funny because when she
- 3:56Speaker 4: was younger, she wasn't quite as appealing as when she
- 3:58Speaker 4: sort of got a little bit older.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Oh yeah, she was. I didn't know her that well,
- 4:01Speaker 1: but she used to come on my show all the time.
- 4:03Speaker 1: She was a big band singer. Then she became she
- 4:06Speaker 1: was a really fine singer. You go back to the fifties,
- 4:09Speaker 1: she made some phenomenal albums and she was a really
- 4:11Speaker 1: good singer. And then in the sixties, actually late fifties
- 4:15Speaker 1: into the sixties, she did like the number one Variety
- 4:18Speaker 1: show in television. She was a huge star there, and
- 4:21Speaker 1: then seventies and eighties she did that daytime show with
- 4:24Speaker 1: a lot of cooking and stuff. And then she started
- 4:27Speaker 1: dating Bert Reynolds, who was like the hottest sex symbol
- 4:31Speaker 1: in America, and here was this older woman. It was
- 4:34Speaker 1: a pretty good yeah for Burt Reynolds, and now everybody
- 4:37Speaker 1: liked her. I never heard a bad word about her.
- 4:39Speaker 4: Very nice as a singing partner.
- 4:43Speaker 1: She was a She was a very, very very fine singer.
- 4:47Speaker 1: You go back and listen to go back and listen
- 4:49Speaker 1: to her albums. There's one with Nelson Riddle that's phenomenal. Uh,
- 4:53Speaker 1: there's one with just a piano. I think it was
- 4:55Speaker 1: Andre Previn, which is pretty amazing stuff. She did some
- 4:59Speaker 1: serious music the work so and remember in the fifties
- 5:02Speaker 1: she was one of the two or three biggest stars
- 5:04Speaker 1: in television. Had a number one variety show. Sinatra was
- 5:08Speaker 1: a guest on it. She was on Sinatra's specials. Yeah,
- 5:11Speaker 1: they were very good friends.
- 5:13Speaker 4: What other female singers did Sinatra enjoy?
- 5:16Speaker 1: Singing? Was number one? Number one was Ella Fitzgerald. His
- 5:21Speaker 1: idol was Billy Holiday. But she was kind of, you know,
- 5:25Speaker 1: out of the business out of the game by the
- 5:26Speaker 1: time he came along, and Ella Fitzgerald would have been
- 5:30Speaker 1: number one. They always wanted to make an album together,
- 5:33Speaker 1: but the two record companies couldn't agree on everything. But yeah,
- 5:36Speaker 1: go on YouTube and watch the TV specials with Ella
- 5:38Speaker 1: and Frank Sinatra. Amazing stuff to check it out. All right,
- 5:43Speaker 1: thanks for calling. Let's go to Vincent and Brooklyn. Vincent,
- 5:46Speaker 1: what's going on?
- 5:47Speaker 5: Good morning, Good morning mora. Yeah, Billy Holliday had that sound.
- 5:50Speaker 5: She had the heroin junkie sound. Mark I big Donald
- 5:58Speaker 5: Trump was right for getting the big oil companies the
- 6:01Speaker 5: executives at the White House and reading them the Riot Act,
- 6:04Speaker 5: because me personally, I do think the gas companies are
- 6:09Speaker 5: now priced grouch again. I say this because yesterday I
- 6:12Speaker 5: was at my card dealership to pick up my car
- 6:16Speaker 5: and there's a gas station on the corner. Regular is
- 6:19Speaker 5: as what you said. Regular was three dollars and eighty
- 6:22Speaker 5: cents a gallon and high test was four dollars and
- 6:28Speaker 5: sixty cents. The gas we're using now was produced long
- 6:33Speaker 5: before the war, and a rack this gas prices should
- 6:37Speaker 5: be coming down, definitely, I.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Remember a lot of that's not the oil coming a
- 6:41Speaker 1: lot of that's the state the city.
- 6:43Speaker 5: Okay, well I checked on that, and actually the State
- 6:47Speaker 5: of New York has not raised the gas acts. It's
- 6:51Speaker 5: still the same as it was during the first truck administration.
- 6:58Speaker 5: Mark Mandami, I hoped Rent Guideline Board gets sued because
- 7:04Speaker 5: this is gonna do this verdict of THEVA not giving
- 7:08Speaker 5: even the two year leases a rent increase. That's going
- 7:12Speaker 5: to cause a lot of landlords to abandon their properties
- 7:16Speaker 5: and to not make the necessary repairs. Mark, I get
- 7:20Speaker 5: offers for these large rents stabilized buildings every day. And
- 7:25Speaker 5: you know what I tell the broke is, why would
- 7:27Speaker 5: I want to be partners with the City of New
- 7:29Speaker 5: York on my business?
- 7:31Speaker 1: No, I understand it's a disaster.
- 7:33Speaker 5: It's a disaster.
- 7:35Speaker 1: But ben Vincent, great call, Thanks for calling. The rent
- 7:38Speaker 1: board was mom. Donnie stacked it with all his cronies
- 7:42Speaker 1: that passed this ridiculous rent freeze. And whenever these left
- 7:46Speaker 1: wingers do this stuff, it always ends up creating less housing. Hey,
- 7:49Speaker 1: we'll talk about that in the second and a whole
- 7:51Speaker 1: lot more with the great Steve Forbes. We'll talk to
- 7:54Speaker 1: him next on seven to ten. Wor
