- 0:08Speaker 1: Hey, what's going on?
- 0:09Speaker 2: Everyone? Welcome into another episode of the check o'dely. It's
- 0:11Speaker 2: Andrew to check O Eagles beat reporter for insidethebirds dot Com.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Day fifteen of Eagles training camp on Monday. The Eagles
- 0:19Speaker 2: have two practices this week left to go before the
- 0:23Speaker 2: final preseason game. They'll have the open practice at Lincoln
- 0:26Speaker 2: Financial Field on Tuesday evening.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Today was a short practice.
- 0:29Speaker 2: It was a yellow practice and there was not a
- 0:34Speaker 2: lot of action to really take away from it. But
- 0:38Speaker 2: I thought that the big headline was the return to
- 0:41Speaker 2: team drills for rookie wide receiver Makay Lemon, who was
- 0:44Speaker 2: targeted twice in this practice. One was an incompletion, the
- 0:47Speaker 2: other one was a short completion towards the right.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Side of the field.
- 0:51Speaker 2: I believe it was, and for the first time really
- 0:55Speaker 2: since I believe checking my notes, it has to be
- 0:58Speaker 2: August third, the Eagles had their full complement of wide
- 1:02Speaker 2: receivers on the field, and it's coming at a perfect
- 1:04Speaker 2: time right now as the Eagles start to ramp things
- 1:07Speaker 2: up for the regular season opener. I'm curious to see
- 1:12Speaker 2: whether or not Makai Lemon gets on the field for
- 1:14Speaker 2: the preseason finale because he does need the reps.
- 1:17Speaker 1: You'd like to see him get some work in.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Granted it won't be with Jalen Hurtz, but it would
- 1:22Speaker 2: be getting reps in an NFL game, which should serve
- 1:24Speaker 2: him well moving into Week one. The last thing I
- 1:28Speaker 2: would have to imagine that you'd want is the rookie
- 1:31Speaker 2: going into his first NFL game taking hits for the
- 1:34Speaker 2: first time.
- 1:36Speaker 1: In his first NFL appearance. So something to keep an
- 1:39Speaker 1: eye on.
- 1:39Speaker 2: We'll see what the Eagles have proven that they're not
- 1:41Speaker 2: going to rush him back if he's not ready.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Let's get to.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Just the practice report and not practicing today. Tackle Mark
- 1:51Speaker 2: hel Bell thumb, leg, cornerback Jhakran bennettnee, tight end Grand
- 1:55Speaker 2: Kakatara back, cornerback Jonathan Jones, shoulder, guard, Willy Lampkins sting,
- 2:01Speaker 2: Mac McWilliams shoulder, tight end Eli Stower's hamstring, cornerback Ambry
- 2:05Speaker 2: Thomas groin, wide receiver Qus Watkins foot and safety Coal
- 2:10Speaker 2: was Nesky concussion. Limited wide receiver Danny Gray groin, offensive
- 2:15Speaker 2: lineman John Juku pectoral. Running back Damian Pierce hamstring. That's
- 2:21Speaker 2: good news for Damian Pierce, who's been sidelined for quite
- 2:23Speaker 2: a bit and defensive tackle Byron Young shoulder.
- 2:27Speaker 1: So good news there, and we'll kind of just get
- 2:30Speaker 1: right to it.
- 2:34Speaker 2: The Eagles were practicing on a far field today, so
- 2:36Speaker 2: they had the fields flipped and they're going from you
- 2:40Speaker 2: know where we're able to see him. They when you
- 2:45Speaker 2: walk in, though, the whole field is sort of shifted
- 2:48Speaker 2: relative to what it was prior to them leaving for Foxborough.
- 2:52Speaker 2: But they engaged in some one on ones on one field.
- 2:55Speaker 2: They had seven on sevens on another, and I thought
- 2:58Speaker 2: that just so reps there. Aj Apanessa had a nice
- 3:02Speaker 2: rep against Fred Johnson, Drew Kendall, nice rep against Arnold A. Mccati,
- 3:07Speaker 2: and veteran guard Michael Jordan versus David Blay.
- 3:13Speaker 1: That was Michael Jordan who I'm given that rep to.
- 3:16Speaker 2: The quarterback who was first up with the second team
- 3:20Speaker 2: today was Tanner McKee, but Andy Dalton mixed in. That's
- 3:24Speaker 2: something to keep an eye on this week. It's a
- 3:26Speaker 2: big week for both quarterbacks. I think both this summer
- 3:29Speaker 2: have really been fairly even in terms of their production.
- 3:35Speaker 2: No one's really separated themselves. You can look at that
- 3:38Speaker 2: preseason game and it's easy to say that Tanner McKee
- 3:41Speaker 2: should be head and shoulders above Andy Dalton. But there's
- 3:47Speaker 2: a lot more to the evaluation process than one preseason game.
- 3:51Speaker 2: But I will say that even in practices of late
- 3:54Speaker 2: the last week, eight nine days, I think is fair
- 3:58Speaker 2: that Tanner McKee has probably done a little bit better
- 4:01Speaker 2: than Andy Dalton, been a little bit more consistent. I
- 4:04Speaker 2: thought in the game he did a nice job of
- 4:05Speaker 2: getting the football out quickly. Was it perfect, No, but
- 4:09Speaker 2: he showed signs of life, and I think that's what
- 4:12Speaker 2: you're looking for from your second quarterback. We'll see how
- 4:15Speaker 2: things shake out, but I did think it was interesting
- 4:17Speaker 2: that he was first up with the.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Second team and.
- 4:22Speaker 2: To start eleven on eleven's I'll set the scene for you,
- 4:25Speaker 2: the rolling stones, gimme shelter.
- 4:28Speaker 1: That was that started.
- 4:29Speaker 2: I had the safety tanem there, Marcus Apps, Drew mccooba,
- 4:34Speaker 2: Jalen Hurts was sacked by jay loox Hunt early in practice.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Jay loox Hunt was also behind the line of scrimmage.
- 4:39Speaker 2: I thought he was really active and flashing quite a bit.
- 4:43Speaker 2: That's not uncommon for Jay loox Hunt. I know you
- 4:46Speaker 2: all who have been listening to this podcast have heard
- 4:49Speaker 2: me say this a million times now and you might
- 4:51Speaker 2: be a little tired of it.
- 4:52Speaker 3: But the.
- 4:55Speaker 2: I mean, the point is is that Jay loox Hunt
- 4:58Speaker 2: has been a wrecking one man wrecking crew at times
- 5:01Speaker 2: this summer. He's been a consistent force off the edge.
- 5:04Speaker 2: I don't need to tell you about how I feel
- 5:06Speaker 2: about his twenty twenty six prospects because I think I've
- 5:09Speaker 2: made that pretty clear. But again, in this practice, I
- 5:13Speaker 2: noticed him a lot early on. You can't help but
- 5:15Speaker 2: see number fifty eight flash. And for those who are
- 5:18Speaker 2: going to be in attendance for the joint for the
- 5:20Speaker 2: open excuse me, open practice at linkoln Financial Field, I
- 5:24Speaker 2: think you'll have an appreciation when you watch Jayluxhant do
- 5:28Speaker 2: some things out there. Just keep an eye on him
- 5:30Speaker 2: because you don't have to squint to see a totally
- 5:33Speaker 2: different or I should say, a rapidly developing player who
- 5:38Speaker 2: is coming into his own.
- 5:40Speaker 1: So I noticed him quite a bit.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Moro Jomo another player that I've seemingly talked about almost
- 5:46Speaker 2: every podcast. I'm a big a Jomo guy, just based
- 5:49Speaker 2: off of how he fits in this defense. What he
- 5:52Speaker 2: provides from a skill set standpoint, really violent player active
- 5:57Speaker 2: hands uses leverage to his advantage, and kind of like
- 6:01Speaker 2: Milton Williams, I think Moro has a big payday of waiting.
- 6:04Speaker 2: But it certainly helps when you're making plays in every practice,
- 6:10Speaker 2: and that should be enough to suggest that he should
- 6:13Speaker 2: be able to replicate the success of twenty twenty five.
- 6:18Speaker 2: I think he's going to be able to turn some
- 6:20Speaker 2: heads and open some eyes for an encore if training
- 6:24Speaker 2: camp is any indication. He had two sacks in this practice,
- 6:28Speaker 2: got into the backfield. He just he has a way
- 6:31Speaker 2: of maneuvering around offensive guards. But I thought that on
- 6:36Speaker 2: one of the plays to Makaye Lemon, Cooper Dejen had
- 6:40Speaker 2: really good coverage on him. Cooper Dejen had a nice practice.
- 6:43Speaker 2: By the way, his name's gonna come up again.
- 6:46Speaker 4: But I'm someone who really likes to wear jeans, but
- 6:49Speaker 4: it's becoming really, really hard these days to find jeans
- 6:53Speaker 4: that aren't tight fitting.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Or restricting, especially for someone who's active. I like to
- 6:58Speaker 3: go to the gym. I'm always out about.
- 7:00Speaker 4: Even when I'm not active and I'm just sitting in
- 7:02Speaker 4: a chair, you start to get that feeling of being
- 7:05Speaker 4: constricted and restrained, and I hate that feeling. Perfect example,
- 7:09Speaker 4: last year I did a fantasy football draft.
- 7:11Speaker 3: It took three hours, and I.
- 7:13Speaker 4: Could just feel myself moving around my chair, adjusting myself.
- 7:17Speaker 4: But everything changed when I found the perfect gene. It's
- 7:21Speaker 4: a gene that fits me just right. It doesn't pinch,
- 7:25Speaker 4: It stretches nicely. Here's what makes these genuinely different from
- 7:29Speaker 4: other stretched jeans. All right, they don't look like stretched jeans.
- 7:32Speaker 4: They look like sharp, classic denim. They're so polished that
- 7:36Speaker 4: you can go straight from like a tailgate parking lot
- 7:39Speaker 4: right to a dinner reservation without anybody clocking you as
- 7:42Speaker 4: that guy who just spent four hours in a lot.
- 7:45Speaker 4: I just recently did another fantasy football draft, and I
- 7:48Speaker 4: wore the perfect.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Gene, and I was just so comfortable.
- 7:51Speaker 4: Look, these things are flexible enough that you can actually
- 7:54Speaker 4: move round in them.
- 7:55Speaker 3: You can bend to get that drink in the cooler.
- 7:58Speaker 3: You could sit in a chair for a few hours.
- 8:01Speaker 3: You can stand for the anthem at a ballgame. You
- 8:04Speaker 3: can get up and guard somebody in a pickup.
- 8:06Speaker 4: Game wearing the Perfect Gene without even hearing a seam

- 8:31Speaker 4: season is coming up soon, and I know that's gonna
- 8:34Speaker 4: be so many late nights for me.
- 8:36Speaker 3: You know how many times the Eagles are on primetime and.
- 8:38Speaker 4: I'm not gonna be going to bed until after well
- 8:41Speaker 4: after midnight, and that means the next day I can
- 8:43Speaker 4: probably count the number of cups of coffee I would
- 8:46Speaker 4: drink on two hands, But not anymore. That's because for
- 8:49Speaker 4: a while now I've been using Ultra pouches. It is

- 9:16Speaker 4: Did you know it was possible to feel this energize
- 9:18Speaker 4: and focus without nicotine or caffeine?
- 9:21Speaker 3: I certainly didn't. Also, I'm less edgy and less.
- 9:24Speaker 4: Anxious compared to people who use nicotine or even when
- 9:28Speaker 4: I drink a lot of coffee. I will totally be
- 9:31Speaker 4: using them when I'm burning the candle at both ends,
- 9:34Speaker 4: trying to record, write, produce podcasts.
- 9:37Speaker 3: I will absolutely need them.

- 9:59Speaker 4: you heard about them. Please support our show and tell
- 10:01Speaker 4: him inside the Birds scent you.
- 10:04Speaker 2: I thought that he kind of I don't want to
- 10:06Speaker 2: say that. I thought in New England there were moments
- 10:09Speaker 2: that de Mario Douglass got him on some intermediate routes
- 10:13Speaker 2: with just being able to separate at the top of routes.
- 10:16Speaker 2: But Cooper Dejeen's another player that we kind of forget
- 10:20Speaker 2: about in the grand scheme of training camp, and I
- 10:22Speaker 2: don't want to do that because he's just been really steady.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Another big season I'm sure awaits him. He has gotten
- 10:31Speaker 2: bigger physically, and I do believe that that adding safety
- 10:35Speaker 2: to his plate should lend itself to some more big
- 10:38Speaker 2: plays and give Vic Fangio more flexibility.
- 10:41Speaker 1: And he had a nice practice today.
- 10:42Speaker 2: There was another play where Jalen Hurts is throwing a
- 10:45Speaker 2: pass down the left sideline to Devonte Smith and Cooper
- 10:49Speaker 2: dejen was there to get in the way. I don't
- 10:52Speaker 2: think it was a pass breakup. I think it fell incomplete,
- 10:54Speaker 2: but he wasn't able to separate from Cooper Degene. Another
- 10:58Speaker 2: play where Jalen Hurts goes deep to Hollywood Brown who
- 11:02Speaker 2: had a step on Quinna Mitchell and Marcus EPs was
- 11:05Speaker 2: a little late coming over the top for that play.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Hollywood Brown had a nice practice.
- 11:10Speaker 2: By the way, and another play that he had that
- 11:15Speaker 2: needs to be highlighted was that he got behind Drew mccouba,
- 11:22Speaker 2: but it was overshot and Jalen Hurts through it a
- 11:27Speaker 2: bit too far. He wasn't able to get there, but
- 11:31Speaker 2: there was a lot of production there from Hollywood Brown.
- 11:34Speaker 2: I think he's becoming more comfortable. He knows how to
- 11:37Speaker 2: find the saft spot. He's not a vertical threat in
- 11:40Speaker 2: the true sense, but he is someone that I think
- 11:42Speaker 2: that they can make use of.
- 11:44Speaker 1: He's athletic.
- 11:45Speaker 2: You get him in the open field, and that's where
- 11:47Speaker 2: you're really going to see him turn on the after
- 11:49Speaker 2: burners and do some different things athletically that maybe some
- 11:52Speaker 2: of the other players on the roster can't do. So
- 11:55Speaker 2: I feel pretty comfortable by saying that he's gonna be
- 11:59Speaker 2: on the roster again. Five million guaranteed, so contract tells
- 12:03Speaker 2: you that he's going to be in pretty good standing.
- 12:05Speaker 2: He also didn't play against the Patriots in the second
- 12:08Speaker 2: preseason game.
- 12:09Speaker 1: That's not always the greatest indicator, but it does.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Tell you that, at the bare minimum, they have an
- 12:14Speaker 2: idea of who the player is and maybe you don't
- 12:16Speaker 2: need to see him out there.
- 12:17Speaker 1: So good practice for him. Jay.
- 12:20Speaker 2: When Hurts connected with Darius Cooper on a nice reception,
- 12:24Speaker 2: he had some to Dontavian Wicks. One was a little
- 12:28Speaker 2: bit high, though, and it looked from my vantage point
- 12:31Speaker 2: that safety Michael Carter the second nearly picked it off.
- 12:34Speaker 2: But you can see that when maybe some of the
- 12:38Speaker 2: focus the onus isn't necessarily on dn Tavian Wicks, everybody
- 12:42Speaker 2: kind of slots into their role a little bit and
- 12:44Speaker 2: you have to worry about where Devonte Smith is, you
- 12:46Speaker 2: have to worry about Makai Lemon, of course, the rookie
- 12:50Speaker 2: working the interior parts of the field. So I do
- 12:54Speaker 2: believe that when everything comes together and you have all
- 12:56Speaker 2: these different components and they're operating at you know, peak performance,
- 13:02Speaker 2: I can see a world, you know, I mean I
- 13:04Speaker 2: can see the vision. I understand how the pieces fit,
- 13:07Speaker 2: and it takes a little bit of pressure off some
- 13:09Speaker 2: of these other players, and the passing game as a
- 13:11Speaker 2: result should look a little bit better.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Let's see, we got the one of the sacks.
- 13:21Speaker 2: I say sacks with a quote because of course you're
- 13:24Speaker 2: not tackling to the ground. But Moro Jomo got to
- 13:27Speaker 2: jaywhen Hurtz who ended up throwing the ball away. On
- 13:29Speaker 2: one occasion there was a misfire that he had to
- 13:33Speaker 2: Will Shipley with j a hot Campbell and coverage. Will
- 13:35Speaker 2: slipped on. The play was on the left side of
- 13:37Speaker 2: the field, And I mentioned Andy Dalton got some work
- 13:43Speaker 2: with the two's as well, but it was Tanner McKee
- 13:48Speaker 2: who got the initial nod. Cooper Degene had another pass
- 13:51Speaker 2: break up to Dallas Goddard and Cooper again an active
- 13:55Speaker 2: practice for him. Saquon Barkley showcase that burst and juice
- 13:59Speaker 2: that I've been talking about this summer where he took
- 14:02Speaker 2: a pitch to the left and he had a nice
- 14:04Speaker 2: hole to run through and he.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Accelerated through that. It's just a springy player.
- 14:09Speaker 2: He looks like the Saquon Barkley that he's been since
- 14:11Speaker 2: he got here. And I feel the need to mention
- 14:15Speaker 2: that there was a throw that Jay One had that
- 14:17Speaker 2: was over the middle and behind Johnny Munch Zach Bond.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Good coverage there.
- 14:23Speaker 2: And so there just wasn't a ton really to dissect
- 14:26Speaker 2: from this practice. I gave you some highlights again. They're
- 14:29Speaker 2: gonna have the open practice at Linkoln Financial Field Tuesday evening.
- 14:33Speaker 2: If you happen to see me there in passing, what
- 14:36Speaker 2: have you? Give me a holler. Would love to meet you.
- 14:39Speaker 2: We'd love to chat with you. But I will be there.
- 14:42Speaker 2: And these are always pretty fun because it gives fans
- 14:47Speaker 2: their first in person look at the twenty twenty six Eagles.
- 14:50Speaker 2: I imagine that you're going to see them pretty much
- 14:52Speaker 2: like they do every year.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Make it very.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Fan friendly and it'll keep you engaged and they'll they'll
- 15:00Speaker 2: keep things moving quickly with the different periods and things
- 15:03Speaker 2: like that, but it is something that I always look
- 15:05Speaker 2: forward to every summer. And as far as what I'll
- 15:08Speaker 2: be looking at tomorrow, I think I'm still gonna be
- 15:11Speaker 2: really fixated on the quarterback play, namely Tanner McKee and
- 15:15Speaker 2: Andy Dalton. I will be keeping a close eye on
- 15:18Speaker 2: how that goes throughout the week. If you listen to
- 15:20Speaker 2: Sean mannyon today, he wasn't Nick. If Nick Sirianni wasn't
- 15:25Speaker 2: gonna name a number two quarterback, Sewan Mannion certainly wasn't
- 15:28Speaker 2: any outline that there's still a lot of work that
- 15:31Speaker 2: needs to be done this week, so they're not look
- 15:35Speaker 2: jumping the gun here a little bit.
- 15:37Speaker 1: I will also be looking at.
- 15:39Speaker 4: The Hey, Philly fans, game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic,
- 15:44Speaker 4: long lines, We've all been there, But when it comes
- 15:47Speaker 4: to your cannabis, Camden Apothecary makes it easy. This is
- 15:52Speaker 4: the dispensary for sports fans, just minutes outside of Philly,
- 15:56Speaker 4: with plenty of free parking.
- 15:57Speaker 3: You'll be in and.
- 15:58Speaker 4: Out fast, no hassle, no waiting, and they don't just
- 16:01Speaker 4: care about convenience. Camp Din Apothecary is all about the

- 16:13Speaker 4: the best quality cannabis at the fairest prices, So whether
- 16:17Speaker 4: you're stocking up for the tailgate, the watch party, or

- 16:23Speaker 4: stuff without overpaying. They even show love to the community
- 16:27Speaker 4: with specials for fans, students, service members, and healthcare pros.
- 16:32Speaker 4: Camdn Apothecary, top quality cannabis, great prices, and an experience
- 16:37Speaker 4: made for Philly fans.
- 16:38Speaker 3: Twenty one and up.
- 16:40Speaker 2: The linebacker situation, and I've spent a lot of time
- 16:43Speaker 2: thinking about this.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Do they go with four? Do they go with five? Why?
- 16:48Speaker 2: What would be the reason for keeping five? Has Chance
- 16:51Speaker 2: Campbell been good enough to warrant a spot on the
- 16:54Speaker 2: fifty three or could you get them onto your practice squad?
- 16:58Speaker 2: Deontay Lass and the young plus out of Alabama with
- 17:01Speaker 2: his forty one starts. He's in the minds of a
- 17:05Speaker 2: lot of teams because he was just undrafted in April.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Is he someone that at twenty three years old might
- 17:10Speaker 2: be an intriguing claim on.
- 17:12Speaker 1: The waiver wire?
- 17:13Speaker 2: Has he done enough to really justify a spot on
- 17:16Speaker 2: the fifty three, what would his role be? Has he
- 17:19Speaker 2: done enough on special teams? And then just watching how
- 17:22Speaker 2: Smilemandan is able to finish out the summer his second year.
- 17:28Speaker 2: We had a chance to talk to him after Monday's practice.
- 17:32Speaker 2: I'll have that transcribed at some point. I have a
- 17:34Speaker 2: lot of work on my plate today, but that'll be
- 17:37Speaker 2: coming up. And so those are just two areas that
- 17:42Speaker 2: I will be keeping a close eye on as things
- 17:45Speaker 2: advance here.
- 17:46Speaker 1: This is going to be a fast and furious week, so.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Make sure you're staying in tune with the inside the
- 17:51Speaker 2: Birds platform and inside the Birds dot com and of
- 17:54Speaker 2: course right here on to czech Odaily. I am Andrew
- 17:58Speaker 2: de Checo and I will catch wall on the next one.
