- 1:11Speaker 1: ball and they whist so, yeah, it's too bad, but
- 1:15Speaker 1: what did you expect?
- 1:16Speaker 2: It's a podcast called twenty five.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Whistles twenty line wins. Hey, thank you guys for being here.
- 1:22Speaker 1: A Joey Logano coming up. Joey Logano is like the
- 1:25Speaker 1: greatest guy. Yeah, it's like the greatest guy. He's so nice.
- 1:29Speaker 1: So yeah that if you're a NASCAR guy, which I
- 1:31Speaker 1: have said many times, I don't know any think about Nascar.
- 1:33Speaker 1: I like Joey Logano though he's been on the show
- 1:35Speaker 1: a couple of times. He's a champ too, so we
- 1:37Speaker 1: love champs. All right, Eddie hit us here we go. Right,
- 1:40Speaker 1: there's the whistle boom. A couple of things, one as
- 1:43Speaker 1: we and and not really yet about who we think
- 1:47Speaker 1: should be in the College Football Playoff, you know, because
- 1:49Speaker 1: there's obviously the old discrepancy of who should be that
- 1:53Speaker 1: last team in, meaning it's not the twelfth ranked team
- 1:56Speaker 1: because there's gonna be a conference champion. If SMU and
- 1:59Speaker 1: Clemson play, If Clemson wins, does that them you fall
- 2:02Speaker 1: all the way out? Basically does Bama get in?
- 2:04Speaker 3: Right?
- 2:04Speaker 1: That's what everybody is like, they've got three losses. And
- 2:07Speaker 1: I said on the last episode, if you have three losses,
- 2:09Speaker 1: not that you don't deserve to be in, but shut
- 2:11Speaker 1: you can't fight to be in. If you somehow get
- 2:14Speaker 1: luckily put in by the magic touch of the wand
- 2:16Speaker 1: of the CFP. Great, but I stopped crying. If you
- 2:18Speaker 1: have three losses, that's the no cry zone. Lane Kiffin
- 2:21Speaker 1: stopped crying. When Lane Kiffin was like, how can ole
- 2:24Speaker 1: Miss not get in? And then Brett Bielman was like, well,
- 2:27Speaker 1: using your logic, we should be in over a year.
- 2:29Speaker 4: Hilarious.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Now I want to be very selfish and say that
- 2:34Speaker 1: I want Alabama to get in because two reasons. One
- 2:38Speaker 1: I said I was rooting for him earlier this year
- 2:39Speaker 1: because they are not the Alabama of old. And when
- 2:42Speaker 1: everybody's like taking a dump on a certain person or team.
- 2:45Speaker 1: I'm like, let's go rise from the dump. And so
- 2:47Speaker 1: I was rooting for Obama for that reason, and it
- 2:49Speaker 1: is weird for Bama to be an underdog. And do
- 2:52Speaker 1: I think they can win the National Championship? I mean,
- 2:54Speaker 1: have a gun to my head. No they could, But
- 2:57Speaker 1: I mean I'd probably put money on if I had
- 2:59Speaker 1: to win. Ohio State still probably has the most talent.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Wouldn't shock me to see them win. Oregon's awesome. But
- 3:07Speaker 1: I did bet twenty five hundred dollars on Alabama to
- 3:10Speaker 1: win the National Championship and they're not even in yet. Yeah,
- 3:14Speaker 1: they're not even a lock, right, which is a great bet,
- 3:17Speaker 1: which is why, which is why I bet it, because
- 3:20Speaker 1: I'm like, if there's any manipulating it is to be done.
- 3:22Speaker 1: It will be manipulated in the favor of Alabama or
- 3:25Speaker 1: they don't need it, or Ohio State or Georgia or
- 3:29Speaker 1: there are these brand teams that will get the manipulation
- 3:32Speaker 1: needed because they bring eyeballs to TV sets and we
- 3:36Speaker 1: have to always remember this is a business. So I
- 3:40Speaker 1: bet twenty five hundred dollars. I was just going to
- 3:42Speaker 1: read to the bet on Alabama to win the national championship.
- 3:45Speaker 1: If they don't, I don't get my money back. If
- 3:47Speaker 1: they don't make the tournament, it's gone. But that was
- 3:49Speaker 1: also an appeal for me. Is you know what I'll
- 3:51Speaker 1: take the risk? The risks are if Clemson beats SMU.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Clemson's automatically in because they are the conference champion of
- 3:59Speaker 1: the AC. See, SMU hasn't be anybody, and so does
- 4:03Speaker 1: SMU stay in their best wins Pittsburgh. But because they
- 4:07Speaker 1: are number two in the conference, do they stay in
- 4:10Speaker 1: with you know, few losses. I just have not seen
- 4:14Speaker 1: one of their games, have you only? Yes too, but
- 4:17Speaker 1: only because the court he used to play Arkansas their
- 4:20Speaker 1: head coach, so rooting for him. Okay, so here's my bet. Guys.
- 4:26Speaker 1: If I win this, I'm not even trying to win it.
- 4:30Speaker 1: If you win it, you are the luckiest man ever.
- 4:32Speaker 1: But that's not lucky to take it. It is if
- 4:35Speaker 1: Alabama wins the whole thing. Now, but that's loser mentality.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Just because somebody wins something to go that's lucky, because
- 4:41Speaker 1: if it were just lucky, you could grab anybody and
- 4:43Speaker 1: know what happened. You just have to take gun to
- 4:45Speaker 1: your head. You wouldn't do it right. And I'm also
- 4:47Speaker 1: gonna bail out if they win a game or two.
- 4:50Speaker 1: I'm gonna I'm gonna hedge this suffer. Yeah, but again
- 4:53Speaker 1: I am using in poker terms pot odds to go.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Will they actually get in? I think probably they'll find out,
- 5:01Speaker 1: they'll sliver their way in. Do I think they can
- 5:03Speaker 1: win a first round game because they will play a
- 5:05Speaker 1: first round game on the road at insert school here. Yes,
- 5:09Speaker 1: and I think they can win a game or possibly two.
- 5:12Speaker 1: I don't think that's lucky by taking what I've watched
- 5:16Speaker 1: all year and what I've seen over the past twenty
- 5:18Speaker 1: years with these big foundation schools and go this is
- 5:21Speaker 1: where I'm gonna put my money. I don't think that's lucky.
- 5:23Speaker 1: I think that's using and again I may lose. I mean,
- 5:27Speaker 1: lucky would be the double doink going in.
- 5:30Speaker 4: That's lucky because I had nothing to do with that,
- 5:33Speaker 4: and a.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Doing doink doink.
- 5:36Speaker 4: Yeah, lucky would be either this would.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Be this is a risk and there's some luck involved.
- 5:40Speaker 1: But I think that lucky would be just scrolling, putting
- 5:43Speaker 1: my finger on one and go on like that's your winner. Man,
- 5:45Speaker 1: if you win this, do you think you can be
- 5:47Speaker 1: that news article that says better bet this this week
- 5:51Speaker 1: and has won, and that better is Bobby Bones, because
- 5:54Speaker 1: that'd be cool those things. Yeah, I'm not gonna wint
- 5:57Speaker 1: enough though. Twenty five hundred bucks makes forty two thousand,
- 6:00Speaker 1: five hundred.
- 6:00Speaker 4: If it was like five dollars to make forty two thousand.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Yeah, that would be cool. Like a seventy two team parlay, Yeah,
- 6:06Speaker 1: fifty five that would be my article.
- 6:08Speaker 4: Yeah, that'd be eddy.
- 6:11Speaker 1: So I've bet Alabama to win the National Championship based
- 6:14Speaker 1: on the fact that if there can be manipulation done,
- 6:16Speaker 1: Alabama will get in because the committee knows this is
- 6:19Speaker 1: a business. They want eyeballs on TV sets, and ratings
- 6:21Speaker 1: matter because ratings sell commercials. Commercial is the revenue for
- 6:24Speaker 1: the television networks to pay all the money to the conferences. Now,
- 6:28Speaker 1: if you can't, they won't. And Alabama stays out, what
- 6:32Speaker 1: I need is SMU to beat Clemson. That's what I
- 6:35Speaker 1: need need. The other thing that can happen is Clemson
- 6:38Speaker 1: beats SMU and they kick SMU out, which I don't
- 6:41Speaker 1: know what happened because I think now they feel the pressure.
- 6:44Speaker 1: But if they can, they will put Alabama in can
- 6:46Speaker 1: you tell me Alabama and Notre Dame? Is it going
- 6:48Speaker 1: to be a massively rated game Week one? If Alabama
- 6:53Speaker 1: goes in as the twelve and Notre Dame is the five,
- 6:56Speaker 1: that will be a ratings bonanza. And that's why it's
- 7:00Speaker 1: not lucky and that is well, but yeh'll be pretty lucky. Legit. Question,
- 7:10Speaker 1: does it hurt teams more to play in a championship game?
- 7:14Speaker 1: So that's the debate. Now, that's a great question because
- 7:17Speaker 1: and you had Lane Kiffin, it's a couple weeks ago.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Why would any bed want to play the championship game
- 7:20Speaker 1: if you can lose then get kicked out? So the
- 7:23Speaker 1: general theory is no, I'm gonna say general, but this
- 7:27Speaker 1: has never happened before. Right, we're in uncharted waters because
- 7:30Speaker 1: it was four teams the last few years before that
- 7:33Speaker 1: was just two. So in conference championship games actually led
- 7:36Speaker 1: to the four. You can lose a conference championship game
- 7:39Speaker 1: now and stay in because the loser of Penn State
- 7:42Speaker 1: Oregon they're in regardless. Yeah, the loser of Georgia Texas
- 7:46Speaker 1: they're in regardless. Really Georgia would be in regardless? Oh yeah,
- 7:49Speaker 1: no losses, Yeah, no doubt Georgia's in. You think they
- 7:54Speaker 1: wouldn't be, well, no, I think they would, but I mean,
- 7:56Speaker 1: you look at it. Alabama's got three losses, they don't
- 7:58Speaker 1: have another game. But Alami didn't didn't make it to
- 8:00Speaker 1: the sc championship game. So the general consensus is you
- 8:03Speaker 1: will not lose your place if you lose the championship game,
- 8:06Speaker 1: because that would mean there is a negative to playing
- 8:08Speaker 1: in the championship game. The only reason, the only that
- 8:11Speaker 1: I could see that wouldn't be the cases if you
- 8:12Speaker 1: play in one of the conferences that are borderline and
- 8:17Speaker 1: the Clemson SMU hasn't played anybody. Yeah, but it's not
- 8:21Speaker 1: their fault. They haven't played anybody. The schedule makers are right.
- 8:25Speaker 1: They played who they could play. Yeah, but I SMU wins,
- 8:29Speaker 1: so I can get in the mix on the Bama bit.
- 8:31Speaker 4: But they lose, they're out. I think.
- 8:35Speaker 1: I'm torn. I think the I think I totally respect
- 8:39Speaker 1: that that you think that, because I think they should
- 8:43Speaker 1: get rid of the conference championship games first of all,
- 8:46Speaker 1: because if they're going to do twelve, they should just
- 8:47Speaker 1: rate the people and they shouldn't give the buyes to
- 8:49Speaker 1: the conference champions because this is what this mess is creating.
- 8:51Speaker 1: The top four teams should just get the four buys
- 8:53Speaker 1: and they may change it very soon. Yeah, they're going
- 8:55Speaker 1: to learn a lot this year. Yeah. But also, let
- 8:57Speaker 1: me say this, it's awesome. The College Wall Playoff is awesome.
- 9:00Speaker 1: It's the greatest addition to one of the main sports
- 9:05Speaker 1: in twenty five thirty years.
- 9:06Speaker 4: Oh yeah, but do you still like the championship games
- 9:08Speaker 4: this weekend?
- 9:09Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 9:10Speaker 4: Because I mean I have interest obviously, but I'm like, well,
- 9:12Speaker 4: what if Oregon and Penn State are currently Oh whatever,
- 9:14Speaker 4: if we win this?
- 9:15Speaker 5: Cool?
- 9:15Speaker 4: If we don't know, big deal. I don't think I
- 9:17Speaker 4: can't help with the think though.
- 9:18Speaker 1: I just don't think that would happen, just in general,
- 9:20Speaker 1: as a competitor and as a coach with bonuses and
- 9:22Speaker 1: as players getting being on tape for NFL football is
- 9:26Speaker 1: different than other sports. Yeah, I think they want to
- 9:29Speaker 1: be the freaking Big ten champion. That's awesome.
- 9:30Speaker 4: I mean Oregon still has a undefeated and you get.
- 9:32Speaker 1: A buye and you're playing for a buy and you
- 9:34Speaker 1: get a big trophy and the trophy like Eddy said, yeah,
- 9:36Speaker 1: man's yeah, you put it in your room, in your.
- 9:38Speaker 4: I didn't even think about the trophy.
- 9:40Speaker 1: I think playing for the buye though, is a big deal. Yeah,
- 9:42Speaker 1: big enough deal, that's true. But I think it's a
- 9:44Speaker 1: great question, And the only one I could see falling
- 9:48Speaker 1: out would be if SMU loses. If clemes And loses,
- 9:52Speaker 1: they're out anyway, comes and got lucky Syracusan. Yeah, but
- 9:57Speaker 1: I think the committee may want to prove that playing
- 10:00Speaker 1: in a championship game shouldn't be a bad thing, even
- 10:02Speaker 1: if you lose, and that would be the only thing
- 10:05Speaker 1: if they're like, look, do we think SMB is one
- 10:06Speaker 1: of the best eighteen teams. Let's say they say they lose.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Do we think SMB is one of the best at No,
- 10:12Speaker 1: But are we gonna set the president that you can
- 10:14Speaker 1: lose the championship game and then not play? So that'll
- 10:16Speaker 1: be the battle. I'd like to be in on that call. Now, Guys,
- 10:20Speaker 1: I'm over Bama here. They're like, who's talking?
- 10:23Speaker 3: Who is this?
- 10:24Speaker 1: Put that Chartie's angels? All right, angels, Does UNLV still
- 10:28Speaker 1: have a chance? Yeah, they win, They're in.
- 10:29Speaker 4: That's pretty amazing, that's crazy, that's awesome.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Yeah, and nobody's I'm watching and they're like, people are
- 10:34Speaker 1: irritated because Boise State gets a BUYE and I can
- 10:36Speaker 1: understand they need to fix it. Bois And State should
- 10:38Speaker 1: not get a buy They're not one of the four
- 10:39Speaker 1: best teams. They are gonna win the Mountain West if
- 10:41Speaker 1: they win the championship game. But there's no way Boys
- 10:44Speaker 1: State should get a bye. They're not good enough. They
- 10:46Speaker 1: they skated. They skirted and skated all year. They've won
- 10:48Speaker 1: every The schedules just different. Yes, this is a very
- 10:51Speaker 1: different schedule, and everyone's just assuming the Boisse State is
- 10:57Speaker 1: in and they're gonna win. No one's even talking about
- 10:58Speaker 1: UNLV having a shot.
- 11:00Speaker 4: And they played earlier this year. I think it was
- 11:02Speaker 4: a shootout, wasn't it.
- 11:03Speaker 1: I've seen Tony moms. I don't know. I don't Oh gosh,
- 11:06Speaker 1: I hundreds hundreds of games. I've watched more games this
- 11:08Speaker 1: year than my whole life. I do have a clip though,
- 11:11Speaker 1: because the boys the UNLV game, and I laughed out
- 11:13Speaker 1: loud at this, but then I also wanted okay first,
- 11:16Speaker 1: So here is the UNLV quarterback hogway I don't know what,
- 11:19Speaker 1: and by the way, there's him talking in a press conference.
- 11:22Speaker 1: And but remember they're on their second quarterback, because you know,
- 11:24Speaker 1: his quarterback left mid year because he's like, I need
- 11:25Speaker 1: to get paid, right, right, dumb dumb. Hodge Williams doing
- 11:29Speaker 1: a press conference earlier this week, and he was asked
- 11:31Speaker 1: what he expects of the atmosphere when they play at
- 11:34Speaker 1: Boise State. This is a Friday, so today tonight's this
- 11:37Speaker 1: game for the Mountain West Championship ahead.
- 11:40Speaker 6: I don't know what to expect as far as the
- 11:42Speaker 6: crowd at Boys that I've never been there. I don't
- 11:44Speaker 6: even know where it is on the map. But what
- 11:48Speaker 6: I do know is communication is always a key to victory,
- 11:50Speaker 6: you know.
- 11:52Speaker 1: So what I laughed at is everybody getting mad being like, oh,
- 11:54Speaker 1: that's bulletin bar material. They don't know where Bois is
- 11:57Speaker 1: on it. Bro, I've been to Boise. I know where
- 11:59Speaker 1: Idaho is. It's a little stick up. I don't know
- 12:01Speaker 1: where most cities are inside of a state on a map.
- 12:03Speaker 1: I couldn't point to it either. People are like they're
- 12:05Speaker 1: gonna depend on the bulletin board to come out pissed
- 12:07Speaker 1: because you don't know where Boys is on a map. Okay,
- 12:09Speaker 1: well get pissed at all of America because none of
- 12:12Speaker 1: us know where. If you said Boston, I know it's
- 12:15Speaker 1: on the water, and I can tell you what the
- 12:16Speaker 1: Massachusetts state looks like. But even a major, I don't
- 12:20Speaker 1: know that I could take a pen and go for sure.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Like just the other day, I didn't know that Denver
- 12:27Speaker 1: or Colorado was connected to Kansas, like I thought Colorado
- 12:30Speaker 1: was by California way over there. That's bulletiboary with too man. Yeah,
- 12:35Speaker 1: I laughed out loud, everyone getting Everyone just wants to
- 12:38Speaker 1: be heard by being hurt, and they were all hurt.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Oh he just gave me you can't identify him on
- 12:43Speaker 1: a map. That's disrespect Well, I guess I'm disrespectful too,
- 12:47Speaker 1: because I've been there. It's awesome, by the way, and
- 12:50Speaker 1: I can set that. Yeah, it's great. It's better than Hawaii,
- 12:53Speaker 1: and no one that can be true. It is true,
- 12:55Speaker 1: except I didn't go on winter summer better than Hawaii.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Been to both?
- 12:59Speaker 4: Hey been to both?
- 13:00Speaker 1: Yes, Yeah, Kenneden, if I'm on the map where the
- 13:03Speaker 1: city is in the state. Yeah, So anyway, And we've
- 13:07Speaker 1: had both coaches on UNLV and Boise, right, I am
- 13:10Speaker 1: not going to lie though I'm rooting for UNLV. I'm
- 13:13Speaker 1: rooting for Boise UNLV all the way.
- 13:16Speaker 4: So I when I coached high school football, three players
- 13:20Speaker 4: are now playing in Bois.
- 13:21Speaker 1: You should say assistant coached, Yes, but no, way, that's
- 13:24Speaker 1: the thing now, Okay, assistant When I was an assistant
- 13:26Speaker 1: pre page, Yeah, volunteer bones, you just say coach at
- 13:29Speaker 1: that point. Yeah, you just say like when I coached, Well,
- 13:32Speaker 1: you have to set it up once. Ever, when I coached,
- 13:35Speaker 1: you can't just go because he's never said this before.
- 13:37Speaker 1: You can't just go like, yeah, when I was coaching
- 13:38Speaker 1: high school football, then people think you're like running head coach,
- 13:42Speaker 1: and it's like, why hasn't he added more? Now?
- 13:44Speaker 4: When I was the athletic director, I did this. So
- 13:48Speaker 4: three of our players got recruited by Boise, and all
- 13:49Speaker 4: three of them are there right now playing.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Oh that's a good reason. Yeah, that's a good reason.
- 13:55Speaker 1: It's pretty cool. I'm friends with the boy with the
- 13:57Speaker 1: un LB head coach and we tech semi frequently and
- 14:01Speaker 1: I love them and their punt returner Mani Broncos. So
- 14:03Speaker 1: what what's up? What's up? Hey? I like, what's the
- 14:05Speaker 1: spread of that one figure? Look at it? I figured
- 14:09Speaker 1: one of you, uh here Bois and minus four that's it? Wow?
- 14:13Speaker 4: Yeah, that's it.
- 14:15Speaker 1: And they're at Boise or is it not mount game
- 14:17Speaker 1: somewhere else that Boise him because a lot of the
- 14:21Speaker 1: major games are in a yeah.
- 14:23Speaker 4: Neutral, Yeah, like Indy for the Big ten and stuff
- 14:26Speaker 4: like that. But yeah, that on the blue.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Field, poor two Lane. They had a shot, they had
- 14:31Speaker 1: a shot to squeak up and possibly be in the conversation,
- 14:34Speaker 1: and they lost. And now I mean they're still playing
- 14:36Speaker 1: in the A C, which is where I sim you
- 14:38Speaker 1: came from. Yeah last year, Yeah, two Lane minus five army. Okay,
- 14:44Speaker 1: we're gonna join Logano in just a second. I think
- 14:47Speaker 1: I'm just gonna build a party of myself.
- 14:48Speaker 5: Guys, Oh, do it, do it?
- 14:50Speaker 1: I know it's just a disaster when you guys get involved.
- 14:52Speaker 1: No offense. There aren't a lot of games to choose from.
- 14:54Speaker 1: There's six. Yeah you're gonna pick three. Yeah, I don't
- 14:58Speaker 1: want to. I don't want to be on the app.
- 15:00Speaker 1: You just tell them, don't put me up there. People, listeners,
- 15:04Speaker 1: get listen. We're big, big draft kings guys, all of us.
- 15:09Speaker 1: It's embarrassing. Whatever. You don't when they put you up
- 15:11Speaker 1: there and you're like, first, we're like, we want to
- 15:13Speaker 1: be on the app. Get them up there, and then
- 15:15Speaker 1: after like our seventh parlay loss in a row, we're like,
- 15:17Speaker 1: get us off the app.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Yeah right.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Here's the thing, though, parlays not something that I would
- 15:24Speaker 1: say is my strong suit. I would not choose to
- 15:28Speaker 1: come on and go trust this parlay now, because this
- 15:31Speaker 1: is a big part of what Draft Kings does. We're
- 15:33Speaker 1: happy to give a parlay that's great. Mostly I'm like,
- 15:35Speaker 1: one game at a time, grinding up. Went to lose one,
- 15:38Speaker 1: that's fine, you're still up a bit. I dude, got
- 15:40Speaker 1: a good parlay this week. Okay, let's hear it. Come on. Ah.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Sometimes I'm too biased though, Like, as I sort of
- 15:47Speaker 1: say it out loud, I'm like, I'm too biased playing
- 15:50Speaker 1: trust me. I know Texas throw them in there anyway.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Texas is minus two and a half. This is the
- 15:57Speaker 1: SEC Championship. Georgia at Texas, but neutral Atlanta Atlanta. Atlanta
- 16:03Speaker 1: Texas a favorite. You take Georgia, just take the Georgian
- 16:07Speaker 1: money line. That's it, Georgian money line. I bet that
- 16:14Speaker 1: game by itself. But inside the parlor Georgian money line, boom.
- 16:20Speaker 1: We got Clemson an su SMU being a two and
- 16:22Speaker 1: a half point favorite, what's hard for me is I
- 16:27Speaker 1: can't give a bet that I don't want to happen,
- 16:29Speaker 1: because I feel like my root in my head. If
- 16:32Speaker 1: they it's like having it playing fantasy and playing against
- 16:35Speaker 1: somebody in one league and having somebody in another, and
- 16:37Speaker 1: you're just torn and you don't know how to feel.
- 16:39Speaker 1: So as much as I feel a certain way about
- 16:40Speaker 1: this game, I'm not saying it. I'm not putting it
- 16:43Speaker 1: on the parlay because I'm not saying it.
- 16:45Speaker 5: It's just heavily implied.
- 16:47Speaker 1: It doesn't even exist. So do what you want in
- 16:50Speaker 1: that one there. I always say, Arizona State take Arizona
- 16:54Speaker 1: State money line. It's a Arizona State's two point favorite,
- 16:59Speaker 1: but it's so close to does matter, And the two
- 17:01Speaker 1: points you're giving on the Georgia game, you're basically back
- 17:04Speaker 1: to even. So Arizona State's winner, Georgia winner at Penn
- 17:10Speaker 1: State Oregon game is juicy. It's juicy, Oregon's ripe and
- 17:18Speaker 1: we like Oregon and yep. Another one of my text buddies,
- 17:22Speaker 1: well not near as much as coach ot them, but
- 17:24Speaker 1: Dan Landing and I have exchanged your text messages. That's
- 17:27Speaker 1: it is pretty cool. Head coach Organ. But they're right,
- 17:30Speaker 1: and nobody expects us to be I mean everyone. It's
- 17:32Speaker 1: just like Organ's already the winner.
- 17:33Speaker 5: Yeah, let's see.
- 17:36Speaker 1: What don't they say, like Penn State chokes these They say,
- 17:39Speaker 1: Penn State just chokes in these.
- 17:40Speaker 4: Like games mostly against Ohio State. Yeah, mostly that's oh
- 17:45Speaker 4: yeah in Michigan.
- 17:46Speaker 1: But yeah, James Franklin can't beat Ohio State or Michigan
- 17:49Speaker 1: basically yeah, uh but or Oregon. I know, I'm gonna go, uh,
- 17:59Speaker 1: Penn State plus three and a half. There you go.
- 18:05Speaker 1: So that's the parlay you guys want to run it,
- 18:07Speaker 1: run it. Here's my confidence level though, Georgia money Line
- 18:10Speaker 1: confidence level eight out of ten, Arizona State confidence level
- 18:15Speaker 1: seven out of ten, Penn State plus three and a
- 18:16Speaker 1: half five point five out of ten has more than five.
- 18:19Speaker 1: I would and bet at five point five out of ten.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Little game is just like, ah wow, this is so
- 18:23Speaker 1: interesting to see these this happen because one nobody expected
- 18:26Speaker 1: the game to happen, right, that's fun. Let's see. And
- 18:29Speaker 1: that is a late game too, so that could be
- 18:31Speaker 1: like the one you wait for. That's the one I
- 18:33Speaker 1: cash out on if I won the first. That's the one.
- 18:36Speaker 1: You put that in the bottom of the parlay. If
- 18:38Speaker 1: it gets to this game, cash out. If you want
- 18:42Speaker 1: to take the twenty five Whistles parlay, you can check
- 18:44Speaker 1: out Draft Kings Sports Book. New users use the code
- 18:46Speaker 1: Bobby Sports whenever you download the app.

- 19:06Speaker 1: Be ball. Now our talk with twenty twenty four NASCAR
- 19:15Speaker 1: Cup Series champion Joey Logano. It was Joey's third Cup
- 19:18Speaker 1: Series championship in his career, his second in the last
- 19:20Speaker 1: three years. He's been on the show before. We're pumped
- 19:22Speaker 1: to have him and what's great about Joey is that
- 19:25Speaker 1: he knows I don't know anything, and I don't act
- 19:28Speaker 1: like I know that I know anything. But also I'm
- 19:31Speaker 1: respectful enough I have real questions and aren't like do
- 19:33Speaker 1: you pee in your suit? I think everybody asked that
- 19:35Speaker 1: the first time they ever had talk, like, like, I
- 19:37Speaker 1: have real questions, and I think some of them. He
- 19:39Speaker 1: was like, I've never been asked that.
- 19:40Speaker 4: Yeah. He was a little confused at times.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Yeah, but not in the way of like I was
- 19:43Speaker 1: making fun. I know that literal yeah yeah.
- 19:44Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:45Speaker 1: So when he says like, that's a good question, what
- 19:47Speaker 1: does that mean? He's never been asked that before? And
- 19:49Speaker 1: it's not so stupid that he thinks it's a bit okay,
- 19:52Speaker 1: And I don't really think he means it's like a
- 19:53Speaker 1: great question he wants to get on NASCAR dot com
- 19:55Speaker 1: and talk about. But I think he means I've never
- 19:57Speaker 1: been asked that. And I can see how someone who's
- 19:59Speaker 1: not a fan a super fan of NASCAR would think
- 20:02Speaker 1: that was the thing.
- 20:02Speaker 4: Because he probably gets asked the same ten questions.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Yes, by either the NASCAR faithful the beat reporters. Those
- 20:11Speaker 1: questions are always very what's happening right now? What's happening tomorrow?
- 20:13Speaker 1: What you did? And then people have no idea or
- 20:15Speaker 1: like dope in your suit?
- 20:16Speaker 6: Right?
- 20:17Speaker 1: What's fast as you ever been? Do you ever get
- 20:18Speaker 1: speeding tickets? Yes? Do you drive recklessly? All this stuff
- 20:21Speaker 1: we asked the first time we got them on? All right,
- 20:24Speaker 1: So here is Joey Logano. Joey, congratulations again, like you
- 20:29Speaker 1: are that dude. It's super cool to see. Do you
- 20:32Speaker 1: ever get into a race aside from the Cup Series championship?
- 20:36Speaker 1: Do you ever get into a race or is it
- 20:38Speaker 1: every race you feel like you're going to win? Or
- 20:40Speaker 1: are some like if I can just finish because I
- 20:43Speaker 1: don't feel good physically, If I can just finish in
- 20:45Speaker 1: the top ten, how does that work every race?
- 20:47Speaker 3: Yeah, it's different.
- 20:48Speaker 7: In our sport because it was a machine you have
- 20:51Speaker 7: to deal with as well, and no two cars are
- 20:55Speaker 7: created the same, and so there's weekends where you feel
- 20:58Speaker 7: like you have the best car, well, we better go
- 21:01Speaker 7: capitalize on this car that we have, and then there's
- 21:04Speaker 7: times where you get there in practice you're like, gosh,
- 21:06Speaker 7: my car is like a twentieth place car.
- 21:08Speaker 3: If I can just if I can finish in the
- 21:10Speaker 3: top ten, that would be.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Like a win.
- 21:13Speaker 7: It just kind of depends on what you got. But
- 21:15Speaker 7: the car is different every week. You try to make
- 21:17Speaker 7: the right adjustments to your car to try to make
- 21:19Speaker 7: it the best you can. But it's different than other
- 21:22Speaker 7: sports because it's just the human element, right. The basketball
- 21:25Speaker 7: is the same every week. The court's really not that
- 21:27Speaker 7: much different from week to week. But our racetracks are
- 21:31Speaker 7: completely different. When you go from half mile tracks, the
- 21:34Speaker 7: mile and a half tracks, road courses, everything in between,
- 21:37Speaker 7: it's different every week.
- 21:39Speaker 1: I've had periods in my life where I've been like,
- 21:41Speaker 1: this is the greatest lunch I've ever had. I actually
- 21:43Speaker 1: keep it like a chart of my favorite lunch ever,
- 21:45Speaker 1: my favorite dinner ever, my favorite snack ever, in different
- 21:47Speaker 1: places I've had them. Do you know the absolute fastest
- 21:50Speaker 1: you've ever been? Like the one track and the number
- 21:53Speaker 1: that you hit?
- 21:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I remember it was God. I think it was
- 21:58Speaker 3: twenty fourteen or fifteen.
- 22:01Speaker 7: We were qualifying in Michigan and we were qualifying at
- 22:05Speaker 7: two hundred and twenty miles an hour. Into the corners,
- 22:08Speaker 7: we averaged two hundred mile an hour. Over two hundred
- 22:10Speaker 7: in the whole lap is the average lat time. So yeah,
- 22:14Speaker 7: that felt fast.
- 22:15Speaker 3: You kind of get used to the speed, to be honest,
- 22:17Speaker 3: would you? It's just when something goes wrong, that's.
- 22:20Speaker 7: When you feel like you're going really fast because it
- 22:22Speaker 7: doesn't stop real quick.
- 22:23Speaker 1: You know, this is going to be a really dumb
- 22:26Speaker 1: question for somebody who's really never been in a race car.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Is there a speedometer in there? No?
- 22:32Speaker 3: No, we're legally and not allowed to have one.
- 22:35Speaker 4: Why it might be a better thing that.
- 22:38Speaker 3: I don't have one?
- 22:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I would just want to know. Then?
- 22:43Speaker 1: Have you done it so many times that you can
- 22:44Speaker 1: pretty much just like raw dog and know how fast
- 22:48Speaker 1: you're going?
- 22:49Speaker 7: I mean, roughly what ends up happening is we set
- 22:52Speaker 7: our dashes, so we have a tachometer, you know that
- 22:55Speaker 7: reads the RPMs of the motor.
- 22:57Speaker 5: We know what gear.
- 22:58Speaker 3: Ratios are in the car or uh so when we
- 23:01Speaker 3: hit a certain speed, we know it.
- 23:03Speaker 7: Right when when the engines are certain our pm and
- 23:07Speaker 7: you're in fifth gear, you have an idea that you're going,
- 23:10Speaker 7: you know, whatever it is, whatever it is that we
- 23:12Speaker 7: can so you kind of go off of the tack
- 23:14Speaker 7: all the time.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Okay, another really dumb guy question for somebody who just
- 23:17Speaker 1: watches on TV. Do you have snacks in the car.
- 23:20Speaker 1: If for some reason you need a snack real quick.
- 23:22Speaker 1: I wish.
- 23:25Speaker 3: I take some water with me because it's hot in there.
- 23:28Speaker 3: But I typically don't have a snack. I mean, they're
- 23:31Speaker 3: fairly long races or three and a half hour races,
- 23:34Speaker 3: but there's not really much time.
- 23:37Speaker 7: And you got your helmet and think about it, you
- 23:39Speaker 7: got all this stuff in front of your face, and
- 23:42Speaker 7: I don't.
- 23:42Speaker 3: You can't really get a good on little bar in
- 23:44Speaker 3: there or anything.
- 23:45Speaker 4: Like that, So I don't.
- 23:48Speaker 3: I think some drivers stuff, I don't.
- 23:50Speaker 1: It makes sense. But again, I do this for five
- 23:53Speaker 1: hours or I'll be even on stage if I'm doing comedy,
- 23:55Speaker 1: and but I like my blood shirtar feels a a
- 23:57Speaker 1: little low. I'll eat almond or two. But you're saying
- 24:00Speaker 1: you have so if you're let's say you have to
- 24:03Speaker 1: pull in and you're in the pit, would you will
- 24:05Speaker 1: you be like throw me some elements? Can you do that?
- 24:07Speaker 1: Have you ever done that? If you're like a little low,
- 24:09Speaker 1: I've never done it. Okay, I've never done it.
- 24:12Speaker 3: You're so like you're just you're a gentalin's pushing.
- 24:16Speaker 7: Yeah, you know, you don't even realize how tired you
- 24:19Speaker 7: are sometimes until you get out of the car, and.
- 24:21Speaker 3: That's what it like.
- 24:22Speaker 7: It hits you like, oh my gosh, right, But most
- 24:25Speaker 7: of the time in the car you're adrenaline is you know,
- 24:28Speaker 7: just like it's kind of like that runners high that
- 24:30Speaker 7: you get at times, right.
- 24:31Speaker 3: You just you keep trucking along.
- 24:32Speaker 7: Your heart rates, you know, one hundred and forty or
- 24:35Speaker 7: so throughout the whole race on average, sometimes higher. Sometimes
- 24:38Speaker 7: it gets a little bit more comfortable depending on the track,
- 24:40Speaker 7: but you're kind of get in that mode where you
- 24:42Speaker 7: just keep clicking wraps off.
- 24:44Speaker 1: I want to talk about teammates for a second, because
- 24:46Speaker 1: on the Penske team, Ryan Blaney's on your team. We
- 24:49Speaker 1: had Ryan and he's had a great time with Ryan,
- 24:51Speaker 1: But are t is there a benefit to having a
- 24:55Speaker 1: good teammate and is there within the team like, hey,
- 24:59Speaker 1: we really need to get Joey to this place and
- 25:02Speaker 1: really need to get Ryan too this place. Are you
- 25:04Speaker 1: helping each other to the point where it's obvious.
- 25:08Speaker 3: Yes, and yes and yes yes to some of the answers,
- 25:12Speaker 3: it is.
- 25:14Speaker 7: The teammates in motorsports is probably the most challenging relationships
- 25:19Speaker 7: you can have, because on one hand, you need to
- 25:22Speaker 7: work together to be successful. Right If we just compete
- 25:25Speaker 7: against each other and say, gosh, all you gotta do
- 25:27Speaker 7: is beat my teammate, well, you may beat him, but
- 25:30Speaker 7: you're gonna finish twentieth. And is that really doing anything?
- 25:33Speaker 8: Like?
- 25:34Speaker 7: You have to have the attitude that you'd rather finish
- 25:36Speaker 7: second to your teammate than beat him and finish twentieth.
- 25:40Speaker 3: And that's that's sometimes hard to do depending on what's
- 25:44Speaker 3: going on.
- 25:44Speaker 7: But I'd say, you know Ryan Blaney's you're also Austin
- 25:48Speaker 7: Cindric as well as an other teammate.
- 25:50Speaker 3: Both of them are very good. They're young, they're fast,
- 25:53Speaker 3: They so much speed.
- 25:56Speaker 7: The good thing about that is they pushed me, right,
- 25:59Speaker 7: they pushed me out of my comfort zone. We all
- 26:02Speaker 7: kind of bring different things to the table, which is nice.
- 26:05Speaker 7: I've been doing this for sixteen years, so I could
- 26:07Speaker 7: break some experience to the table. They bring speeds at
- 26:10Speaker 7: the table. I think together we end up making everybody better.
- 26:13Speaker 7: And I think that's what you ultimately want in a
- 26:16Speaker 7: teammate is someone that's going to, you know, push you
- 26:18Speaker 7: and make the whole organization better, right, all of Team Penske.
- 26:22Speaker 7: I think we've got that with our teammates right.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Now, the teammates ever fight like out like fist fight,
- 26:28Speaker 1: I've never I don't know they've ever seen teammates fist fight,
- 26:30Speaker 1: And would and would your team be like boys you
- 26:33Speaker 1: do that in like like an actual team, because I've
- 26:35Speaker 1: been on you know, even playing high school sports. Right,
- 26:37Speaker 1: friends that play pro sports they fight with each other,
- 26:39Speaker 1: but they do it behind closed doors. Are their teammates
- 26:42Speaker 1: that ever like come to blows on the track.
- 26:45Speaker 7: It depends on the team. I don't see Team Penske
- 26:50Speaker 7: handling really anything that way between each other. But I
- 26:54Speaker 7: also know that listen, there's gonna be difference as opinions, right,
- 26:58Speaker 7: Like it's like growing up with your brother, you know,
- 27:01Speaker 7: like you're he's gonna take you off every now and again,
- 27:04Speaker 7: and the best thing you can do is talk about it.
- 27:06Speaker 3: Right.
- 27:07Speaker 7: You can't just like any other relationship, you can't brush
- 27:09Speaker 7: it under the rug and expect it to get better.
- 27:11Speaker 3: It's gonna keep getting worse.
- 27:12Speaker 7: So you just got to have an open relationship. You
- 27:15Speaker 7: got to be able to talk about everything that's going
- 27:17Speaker 7: on together. And if if I made I tell them
- 27:20Speaker 7: all the time, if I make you mad, tell me
- 27:22Speaker 7: I probably have a reason for it and vice versa.
- 27:26Speaker 7: You know, so I'll tell you if I'm upset, I
- 27:29Speaker 7: promise you that. So I think that's what the best
- 27:32Speaker 7: teammates do. But yeah, I mean there's different expectations with
- 27:36Speaker 7: your teammate. Right if someone if it's not your teammate
- 27:40Speaker 7: and they're racing the crap out of you, well you
- 27:43Speaker 7: don't get that upset. But if it's your teammate, you're like, hey, Bud, like,
- 27:46Speaker 7: aren't we kind of on the same side here? You know,
- 27:48Speaker 7: there's different rules of engagement that that you know, are
- 27:52Speaker 7: spoken about before the races sometimes.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Forgive my ignorance on this question, would do you could
- 27:58Speaker 1: you design a racetrack? Because I'm golfers, you know, they
- 28:00Speaker 1: get bigger famous. This is a Tiger Woods track. I mean,
- 28:02Speaker 1: I feel like you've won enough now they should be
- 28:04Speaker 1: asking you to design a racetrack. Can you design a racetrack?
- 28:07Speaker 1: Is that a thing I've never.
- 28:08Speaker 7: Been asked, But I mean, I guess I could help
- 28:14Speaker 7: design a track. I think a couple of drivers have before.
- 28:17Speaker 7: I know, Rusty Wallace did a lot with Iowa Speedway,
- 28:21Speaker 7: and some road racers did some stuff with road courses.
- 28:24Speaker 7: But you know, really, I think what the difference is
- 28:29Speaker 7: is building a racetrack is I would assume a lot
- 28:34Speaker 7: more expensive than a golf course, just because I mean
- 28:38Speaker 7: you think of all the site work that has to
- 28:39Speaker 7: be done, all the buildings, all the grand stands, the
- 28:42Speaker 7: suite so all that, Like, you know, just building new
- 28:44Speaker 7: race tracks all the time, like that's really expensive. So
- 28:48Speaker 7: we end up going back to the same tracks very often.
- 28:52Speaker 7: And there's there's racetracks all across the world, right then,
- 28:56Speaker 7: a lot of them we haven't seen. Right, We're going
- 28:57Speaker 7: to Mexico City this year, so there's a racetrack that's
- 29:01Speaker 7: been there for a long time, but none of us
- 29:03Speaker 7: have ever seen it. So I don't know if we
- 29:06Speaker 7: need to be, you know, spending a ton of money
- 29:08Speaker 7: on building your racetracks and designing them, but just going
- 29:11Speaker 7: to a lot of great ones that are there and
- 29:12Speaker 7: bringing our races to the fans that are there.
- 29:14Speaker 1: I know, your bodies go through a lot over the
- 29:16Speaker 1: course of a race. Now again this is such a
- 29:19Speaker 1: dumb guy question, but if let's say you hurt your ankle,
- 29:21Speaker 1: Let's say you step off a stair, or like you
- 29:24Speaker 1: hurt your your achilles tendon and it actually hurts to
- 29:27Speaker 1: push the pedal. Could they switch it to you could
- 29:31Speaker 1: do with the other I don't know how would they
- 29:33Speaker 1: do that if your foot hurt so bad? And has
- 29:35Speaker 1: it ever kept you out of a race?
- 29:38Speaker 3: Man? You gets some interesting questions to that. I knock
- 29:42Speaker 3: on wood, something, knock on something.
- 29:44Speaker 7: I've never had something that kept me out of the
- 29:49Speaker 7: race car a foot. I even think growing up, I
- 29:51Speaker 7: have broke my arm a couple of times.
- 29:53Speaker 5: But yeah, ah.
- 29:57Speaker 7: No, I mean some guys have driven with with some
- 30:01Speaker 7: with some banged up situations and it doesn't look comfortable.
- 30:07Speaker 3: Yeah, but I've never seen anyone drive with the other
- 30:10Speaker 3: foot to overcome that.
- 30:12Speaker 5: Yeah, I know.
- 30:13Speaker 4: I mean I don't know why you couldn't though, that's right?
- 30:15Speaker 5: Or could you?
- 30:16Speaker 1: Are the rules against putting some of the stuff on
- 30:18Speaker 1: the hands, because you know, you see those old old
- 30:19Speaker 1: person cadillacs are like flipping gears with their fingers right right,
- 30:24Speaker 1: exactly exactly. I'm bringing all the questions. These are legitimate
- 30:29Speaker 1: things I've always wanted to ask somebody who's like the greatest. Okay,
- 30:32Speaker 1: I saw you with Shack recently, DJ and at the club.
- 30:35Speaker 1: How what happened? How did that happen.
- 30:37Speaker 3: Well, so they had, which I didn't know. DJ Diesel
- 30:41Speaker 3: is what they call him. He was at the after
- 30:44Speaker 3: party for a championship party and he's huge.
- 30:49Speaker 7: By the way, he's as big as I thought he
- 30:51Speaker 7: would be, as freaking tall as huge, super nice.
- 30:57Speaker 4: I didn't know he's a DJ.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Hey, wait to hear about Paris Hilton. That one's next. Yeah,
- 31:04Speaker 1: she's saying, oh no, okay. So I got to two
- 31:08Speaker 1: final questions here, and by the way, these are legitimate
- 31:10Speaker 1: questions I've been holding on to to ask you because
- 31:12Speaker 1: again to me, like you're that guy. So it's been
- 31:15Speaker 1: super cool to ask you these dumb guy questions that
- 31:16Speaker 1: I've had. So you've won three Cup Series championships in
- 31:22Speaker 1: your mind, like, what is it like a Tom Brady thing?
- 31:25Speaker 1: Do you want to win more than anybody ever? Do
- 31:27Speaker 1: you want to have so many that people can't catch you? Right? Like,
- 31:29Speaker 1: you know Brady's got seven. It's going to be hardly
- 31:33Speaker 1: people unless it's Mahomes, Nobody's gonna catch Brady. Your thoughts
- 31:36Speaker 1: on like what's the ceiling with you? What's the goal?
- 31:39Speaker 3: To be honest with you, I don't set long term goals.
- 31:43Speaker 3: I set this year's goal. And I mean, this is
- 31:47Speaker 3: a simple way of thinking about life. But what is
- 31:50Speaker 3: the goal this year?
- 31:51Speaker 7: Is how I look at it, And the goal every
- 31:53Speaker 7: year is the same, is to go win the championship.
- 31:57Speaker 7: And there's there's if that takes six twins to do it,
- 32:00Speaker 7: if it takes two wins to do it, whatever it is,
- 32:02Speaker 7: doesn't matter. You know, if I'm looking you know, I
- 32:06Speaker 7: don't ever look far up ahead and say, gosh, I
- 32:09Speaker 7: want to have seven championships like Richard Petty and Dale
- 32:13Speaker 7: Jimmy Johnson, Like yeah, that would be great, you know.
- 32:16Speaker 3: I eight would be even better. Sure, but I got
- 32:19Speaker 3: to get four first, you know, before before I even
- 32:22Speaker 3: look that far. So maybe it's just a simple way
- 32:25Speaker 3: of thinking about it, but it's just the way.
- 32:27Speaker 1: I do it. Final two questions. I'm going to do
- 32:30Speaker 1: this serious one because I saw that your foundation gave
- 32:33Speaker 1: quarter million dollars a hurricane relief to you. You know,
- 32:38Speaker 1: I've noticed a priority and you giving back and finding
- 32:41Speaker 1: reasons to give back, Like why is that important to you?
- 32:44Speaker 3: Well? I said this in my speech, and it's there's
- 32:47Speaker 3: a lot of truths behind this.
- 32:48Speaker 7: You think about sports in general, they're pretty pointless right,
- 32:53Speaker 7: you're either putting a ball in a basket, you're carrying
- 32:56Speaker 7: a football across the field. And for us, we're driving
- 32:59Speaker 7: the store to end up in the same place after
- 33:01Speaker 7: five hundred miles. When you think about all that, it's
- 33:04Speaker 7: pretty goofy and dumb, But if you think about the
- 33:10Speaker 7: platform that God's given us to impact others, it's becomes
- 33:14Speaker 7: very impactful, right Like, it's a very very big thing.
- 33:19Speaker 3: And so that's the why.
- 33:22Speaker 7: So for us, the Joy Legana Foundation is the why.
- 33:25Speaker 7: We care a lot about foster kids. We deal a
- 33:28Speaker 7: lot with foster families. You brought up the Hurricane Helene.
- 33:31Speaker 7: You know we're here in North Carolina. Obviously, it's about
- 33:34Speaker 7: an hour from here in the mountains where there's a
- 33:37Speaker 7: lot of families that got impacted more than the news
- 33:42Speaker 7: tells you.
- 33:43Speaker 3: It's bad.
- 33:44Speaker 7: And so we've been able to make some trips up
- 33:47Speaker 7: there and visit some families get a little bit better
- 33:50Speaker 7: idea what's going on. I mean, people's houses got washed away,
- 33:54Speaker 7: their cars got washed away, their families got washed away.
- 33:59Speaker 3: It's it's so sad.
- 34:01Speaker 7: So you know, there's there's a few foster care communities
- 34:04Speaker 7: up there that we've worked with in the past that
- 34:06Speaker 7: were impacted in a very large way. A lot of
- 34:10Speaker 7: people don't have flood insurance up there either, so we've
- 34:13Speaker 7: been doing a lot of things with giving cars away.
- 34:15Speaker 7: We've already given a car away. We got four more
- 34:17Speaker 7: cars that were getting ready to give away here in
- 34:19Speaker 7: a couple of weeks before Christmas. You know, we've got
- 34:22Speaker 7: some some some money going towards rebuilding uh, these foster
- 34:28Speaker 7: care communities that that got washed out. So there's been
- 34:32Speaker 7: some great help from our race stands, from our partners.
- 34:37Speaker 7: It's not just me doing it, but the fact that
- 34:39Speaker 7: we all come together and try to impact an area
- 34:43Speaker 7: that just people that need help.
- 34:45Speaker 3: That's really the why.
- 34:48Speaker 1: My final question, and again this is a bit trivial,
- 34:50Speaker 1: but it's something that I was given grief for. I
- 34:52Speaker 1: was doing a TV show on that GEO and I
- 34:54Speaker 1: had an earpiece, and mostly for safety reasons because I'd
- 34:57Speaker 1: be up on like these harnesses or I'd be doing
- 34:59Speaker 1: and so I had to ear peace in. My director
- 35:01Speaker 1: would talk to me. But I demanded on a Saturday,
- 35:04Speaker 1: I say demanded. I'm not a demanding guy, but I
- 35:06Speaker 1: did sound saturdays in my contract that I needed to
- 35:08Speaker 1: have the updates for the Arkansas football games fed through
- 35:10Speaker 1: my ear so as I'm doing this, I had them
- 35:13Speaker 1: tell me the scores of the games as it was happening,
- 35:14Speaker 1: if we happen to be recording while doing the show.
- 35:17Speaker 1: So I asked this from a place that I was
- 35:19Speaker 1: shamed for having that put in. If you're ever in
- 35:21Speaker 1: a race and you're wondering what the score is of
- 35:23Speaker 1: a game, do you ever ask for them to update
- 35:25Speaker 1: you on scores of something else while you're doing your thing.
- 35:28Speaker 3: I tell you what, man, I don't have the capacity
- 35:31Speaker 3: for it. I have a hard time to have a
- 35:33Speaker 3: capacity to watch sports these days. Like I love watching.
- 35:37Speaker 7: Sports, but I got three kids and my oldest one's six,
- 35:41Speaker 7: so it's like Paul Patrol on a rewinder and we're
- 35:45Speaker 7: moving into the Christmas movies on the Grinch and Christmas Chronicles.
- 35:51Speaker 7: So honestly, I don't ever get the TV revote. And
- 35:55Speaker 7: if anyone has kids and listening to this, you know,
- 35:57Speaker 7: about nine o'clock it's game over on I'm going to sleep.
- 36:01Speaker 7: So I wish I could watch sports as I love it,
- 36:05Speaker 7: but gosh, I'm a couple of years away from it
- 36:07Speaker 7: right now.
- 36:08Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, I still feel shame. I still feel shame,
- 36:11Speaker 1: and thanks Joy for allowing me to keep keep holding
- 36:13Speaker 1: on to that shame in my heart for that. Hey, Joey,
- 36:15Speaker 1: we're rooting for you, dude, We root for you. Congratulations again.
- 36:18Speaker 1: It's so cool to like like you're you're you're all.
- 36:21Speaker 1: You're nice and you know, we've had some people in
- 36:23Speaker 1: It doesn't matter they aren't that nice. You're like, you're awesome.
- 36:25Speaker 1: You're awesome to us. We appreciate the time. You're so generous.
- 36:28Speaker 1: What's we's spending time with us?
- 36:29Speaker 8: Uh?
- 36:30Speaker 1: Not all you guys are awesome. It's like in general
- 36:32Speaker 1: the world, but you were one of them. So congratulations.
- 36:35Speaker 3: Well gee, thanks, I appreciate the compliments and show glad
- 36:39Speaker 3: to be on it.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Thanks Joey. Hopefully we'll see you, soume.
- 36:41Speaker 4: Man, invite me more times than do you come on
- 36:44Speaker 4: whenever you want.
- 36:45Speaker 1: You literally, you could come on anytime. You can come
- 36:49Speaker 1: when you lose because I have all these questions. Uh, Joey,
- 36:52Speaker 1: we love you, buddy. Have a good day, all right, man.
- 36:55Speaker 3: Thanks, we'll see you.
- 36:56Speaker 1: For the most part, we don't talk baseball, very regional loveaball,
- 37:00Speaker 1: but there are certain stories I'm like, God, damn, we
- 37:01Speaker 1: gotta talk about this. So this guy's name is Kent
- 37:04Speaker 1: Sports on TikTok and I want to play you. This
- 37:07Speaker 1: is just from my phone. It's about whenever they find
- 37:09Speaker 1: these prospects and they really don't how old they are
- 37:11Speaker 1: and they say they're a certain age and turns out
- 37:13Speaker 1: they're older. Dude, this story is crazy. Here you go.
- 37:15Speaker 8: This is one of the wildest baseball scandals you'll ever see.
- 37:17Speaker 8: Ah Drace had agreed to sign a fourteen year old
- 37:20Speaker 8: shortstop out of the Dominican Republic for four million dollars,
- 37:23Speaker 8: only to find out he's actually nineteen, not fourteen.
- 37:27Speaker 1: How funny is that? The kids like, yeah, my o
- 37:30Speaker 1: pit hair has just started growing, and they're like, dang,
- 37:32Speaker 1: you rock for a fourteen year old old and he's nineteen.
- 37:35Speaker 5: I am twelve.
- 37:36Speaker 1: That's funny.
- 37:37Speaker 5: I remember that Danny Almonte story for a while, but serious.
- 37:41Speaker 4: Exactly there just dominating dominated.
- 37:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:43Speaker 1: So that was one and the other thing was another
- 37:46Speaker 1: quick baseball story and I'll get out baseball. But they
- 37:48Speaker 1: were talking about the Golden bat.
- 37:50Speaker 5: Oh yeah, what the heck is?
- 37:52Speaker 1: Here's what I want to say before we tell the
- 37:54Speaker 1: story and people go that stupid. I enjoy the fact
- 37:57Speaker 1: that they're they're tossing new idea is for a sport
- 38:00Speaker 1: that people are losing interest in, like crazy, because baseball
- 38:04Speaker 1: has gone way downhill with the interest. Nobody cares if
- 38:07Speaker 1: I say, nobody, some due, but it's very regional. You
- 38:09Speaker 1: got to have a team. But it's just not like
- 38:11Speaker 1: football or even basketball.
- 38:13Speaker 5: Right the salary cap, I feel like, is the number
- 38:16Speaker 5: one thing.
- 38:16Speaker 1: So what they the commissioner comes like, say what we
- 38:19Speaker 1: think about flirt? Did you know what Eddie? No, I
- 38:21Speaker 1: don't know about this. Think about flirt with this rule
- 38:22Speaker 1: like once a game you get a golden it bat
- 38:25Speaker 1: where you get to use it one time, but anybody
- 38:28Speaker 1: in your lineup gets to come about right then.
- 38:30Speaker 4: Whoa wow, which is hilarious.
- 38:33Speaker 1: Cool bases loaded. Otani's upy oh wow, they just struck
- 38:36Speaker 1: him out. Wow, who's up walking back up to the
- 38:40Speaker 1: plate for a second time. He just So here's what
- 38:44Speaker 1: I think, as ridiculous as it sounds, and baseball is
- 38:46Speaker 1: a purest sport and it's also why it has not
- 38:49Speaker 1: grown because they've just attached themselves to the I think
- 38:52Speaker 1: that would be fun to do, Like the first ten
- 38:54Speaker 1: games of the season, not the whole year, not to playoffs,
- 38:57Speaker 1: the playoffs, but do it the first ten games of
- 39:00Speaker 1: the season, and that's it, and it's fun, it's novel.
- 39:02Speaker 1: It is what it is. And if it turns out
- 39:04Speaker 1: to be something that people really enjoy and there's an
- 39:06Speaker 1: element to it that you haven't even expected or understood,
- 39:09Speaker 1: then great. But I don't hate it because it's something
- 39:14Speaker 1: new and it's so innovative that people think it's stupid.
- 39:17Speaker 1: But that's usually where good ideas come from. So what
- 39:19Speaker 1: if you need a homer, then you can just turn
- 39:20Speaker 1: around and just you get any time you want to
- 39:22Speaker 1: go bad again, yes you get to use it once again.
- 39:27Speaker 1: The gold in it bat It could be the second inning,
- 39:28Speaker 1: could be the ninth and if you it doesn't roll over.
- 39:32Speaker 1: So if you don't use it, and it's also like
- 39:34Speaker 1: you don't, it wouldn't be used all the time by
- 39:36Speaker 1: every team because again, a lot of teams would just
- 39:39Speaker 1: be waiting for the opportunity to need to use it.
- 39:41Speaker 1: And if you're winning, there's really no need because what
- 39:44Speaker 1: if then you start to lose and you need it later.
- 39:46Speaker 1: So I don't think it would be the fact that
- 39:47Speaker 1: people be using the gold in the bat all the
- 39:49Speaker 1: time every game. I think they should do the first
- 39:51Speaker 1: ten games in the season try out because we've got
- 39:55Speaker 1: the pitchclock going. It's been a great addition to the game.
- 39:57Speaker 1: We got the DH in both leagues. I think it's
- 40:00Speaker 1: been great. Both were met with I don't think this
- 40:02Speaker 1: is going to work, but by purists and people who
- 40:06Speaker 1: are just like casuals or want to be more than
- 40:08Speaker 1: a casual, like, oh cool, Yeah, it's been great.
- 40:11Speaker 5: Do the gold in the bat more offense?
- 40:13Speaker 1: So yeah, I mean, listen, I love gold the bet
- 40:16Speaker 1: and it loves golden showers. You know, there's both that
- 40:19Speaker 1: there's a thing for about them. You said you wouldn't
- 40:21Speaker 1: tell anyone, Okay, all right, Boom boom boom. We're feeling
- 40:24Speaker 1: pretty good. The Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow showed out three
- 40:27Speaker 1: million bucks for one of those batmobile replicas. I was
- 40:29Speaker 1: watching a TikTok if I'm telling Jamar Chase about this.
- 40:31Speaker 1: Did you guys see it? No?
- 40:33Speaker 4: I saw the batmobile, but not the TikTok really, Oh
- 40:35Speaker 4: I saw him?
- 40:35Speaker 1: Micd up, you see it?
- 40:36Speaker 5: Yeah, I saw that one.
- 40:37Speaker 1: It's like miked up and it's like I got bought
- 40:39Speaker 1: a batmobile and he's like saw casual. He's like the
- 40:42Speaker 1: real way.
- 40:42Speaker 4: He goes, you have it, and he goes, I don't
- 40:44Speaker 4: have it yet. I hate for it though, so I'll
- 40:46Speaker 4: get it in twenty twenty five.
- 40:48Speaker 1: Yeah, that guy? What's that guy like? Like Joe Burrow, Like,
- 40:50Speaker 1: what's he like? I feel like we don't really know
- 40:52Speaker 1: exactly what he's like. I feel like we know exactly
- 40:55Speaker 1: what he's like, and we wouldn't want to be friends
- 40:56Speaker 1: with them, but we'd want to be the quarterback of
- 40:58Speaker 1: our teams.
- 40:58Speaker 4: Oh, I want to be a friend with them.
- 41:00Speaker 1: I don't think you would. I think he's such a
- 41:02Speaker 1: such a an a a type a personality that demands
- 41:06Speaker 1: all the attention all the time. But you have to
- 41:09Speaker 1: be that to be that, Like you don't, you're not
- 41:13Speaker 1: him in that position that successful without being that. It's
- 41:18Speaker 1: like dating an artist and you're like, well they're kind
- 41:22Speaker 1: of weird. Well no, that's what made them the great
- 41:25Speaker 1: artist they are to get to this point or even
- 41:28Speaker 1: knowing it, like all the artists are crazy. You got
- 41:31Speaker 1: to have a screw loose to even be in the
- 41:32Speaker 1: in that world. In business, now, hopefully it's the right screw.
- 41:35Speaker 1: Because you're a good artist, you can still be somewhat
- 41:37Speaker 1: of a normal human. But it's not a normal human job.
- 41:39Speaker 1: You're not thinking like a normal human. Creatives are not normal,
- 41:42Speaker 1: and so I think you would want to have him
- 41:46Speaker 1: as your quarterback. This is just me, but I think
- 41:48Speaker 1: he would be like demanding so much attention alpha dog
- 41:51Speaker 1: a do my way all the time that you'd be like, oh,
- 41:53Speaker 1: not for my friend. Though, like probably cool to have
- 41:55Speaker 1: him as a casual, like he does some cool stuff.
- 41:57Speaker 1: You can go with him, be part of the group. Yes,
- 42:01Speaker 1: that would be cool. I think that would be.
- 42:03Speaker 4: The case with Joe Burrow because him and Jamar hang out.
- 42:08Speaker 1: I think they do well. Hang out is interesting because
- 42:11Speaker 1: they play college ball together, so they probably have a
- 42:13Speaker 1: good relationship. But once you get to be an adult
- 42:15Speaker 1: and like, it's like with and I don't know, he's
- 42:18Speaker 1: not married. I don't know if Jamar is married.
- 42:20Speaker 4: I don't think either of them.
- 42:21Speaker 1: But even like with the radio show with the Bobbybone Show,
- 42:23Speaker 1: like we used to all before we moved to Nashville,
- 42:25Speaker 1: we used to all hang out all the time. But
- 42:26Speaker 1: it's before we had kids, it's before we had families.
- 42:28Speaker 1: I don't have kids, but it's before there were all
- 42:30Speaker 1: these things going on, and so you would hang out
- 42:32Speaker 1: when you were young, So I would guess they probably
- 42:35Speaker 1: do hang out, like.
- 42:37Speaker 4: Maybe just go to each other's house, watch a game,
- 42:39Speaker 4: play video games whatever.
- 42:40Speaker 1: Will they forever know because the real life doesn't mean
- 42:43Speaker 1: they're not as close, but like other things, kind of
- 42:45Speaker 1: hop in.
- 42:46Speaker 4: But they're legit friends right off the field.
- 42:48Speaker 1: I would think I was watching on talking about the Batmobile.
- 42:49Speaker 4: That's true. If you tell them about the Batmobile, they're
- 42:52Speaker 4: they're good friends.
- 42:53Speaker 1: They were just talking. They're just talking. Yell. Yeah, yeah,
- 42:58Speaker 1: it's pretty cool. It's pretty cool. Eddie wanted to argue
- 43:02Speaker 1: that Army should be in the college football playoffs. You can't.
- 43:05Speaker 1: Army is not good ten on man, how do you
- 43:07Speaker 1: argue that? And they may like beat two lane and
- 43:10Speaker 1: then they may beat Navy, and next thing you know,
- 43:12Speaker 1: they're like twelve and yeah you just won. You just
- 43:15Speaker 1: did the next thing, you know, twelve and one, and
- 43:18Speaker 1: you're not gonna put them on the playoffs. That'd be crazy, okay,
- 43:22Speaker 1: And I love America. Well that's the part you have
- 43:24Speaker 1: to remove from it because you have to go I
- 43:25Speaker 1: love the troops, but Army as a football team, it's
- 43:29Speaker 1: it's not the same conversation. And you're going next thing,
- 43:33Speaker 1: you know, after two more wins, next thing, you know,
- 43:36Speaker 1: they'll probably be Navy. Yeah, I think they'll be Navy.
- 43:39Speaker 1: They may you know, the two lane. Who knows, they
- 43:41Speaker 1: may beat both of them, dude, but still, and if
- 43:43Speaker 1: they do beat both of them, you just have to
- 43:45Speaker 1: put them in. No, they won't get They're like, yeah,
- 43:47Speaker 1: see that's what I'm saying. They need they need a petition.
- 43:49Speaker 1: They needed to go undefeated.
- 43:51Speaker 4: Yeah, and the one loss was Notre Dame, right and
- 43:54Speaker 4: they got Yeah.
- 43:55Speaker 1: And they got run pretty Oh yeah that was bad.
- 43:56Speaker 4: That was recent, the last couple of yeah, a month
- 43:58Speaker 4: or so ago.
- 43:59Speaker 1: That was a Yankee stadium. Yeah yeah, it's really cool, man,
- 44:03Speaker 1: cool to see a football game. We all looked up, like,
- 44:09Speaker 1: and there's more.
- 44:11Speaker 5: Yeah, that's so.
- 44:12Speaker 1: Something we just learned. I did not know is that
- 44:15Speaker 1: Casey New York Casey who talks about his love by
- 44:18Speaker 1: the way, dude, what's it's it's a joke now the Jets.
- 44:22Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Casey is like, what are you talking about?
- 44:25Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 44:26Speaker 1: It's like and Aaron Rodgers like, I still want to
- 44:28Speaker 1: play for the Jets.
- 44:29Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't think it's like built built.
- 44:31Speaker 1: We just redid our house and I mean anyway.
- 44:35Speaker 5: No, I mean I don't think so. I think we've
- 44:37Speaker 5: we've all seen enough.
- 44:38Speaker 1: Like I root for you now that they just stayed terrible.
- 44:42Speaker 1: You can have that's what I'm better draft capital. Oh yeah,
- 44:46Speaker 1: that's anyway. I feel sorry for Casey on that because
- 44:48Speaker 1: I'm a fan. We have this kinship if we just
- 44:50Speaker 1: expect things to go wrong because I always have and
- 44:52Speaker 1: they do.
- 44:53Speaker 5: Yeah, yes, yeah, they.
- 44:54Speaker 1: Always have, they always will. We'll say it right. But
- 44:56Speaker 1: Casey was like, yeah, I play guitar. None of us
- 44:58Speaker 1: had any idea Casey played guitar. No, Because we were
- 45:00Speaker 1: just singing a song like just for fun. He started
- 45:02Speaker 1: doing the bassline. I'm like, you know the bassline too.
- 45:04Speaker 5: I was moving up the fretboard, the imaginary foot board.
- 45:06Speaker 1: The song was now I thinking back out and I
- 45:08Speaker 1: don't know all the words to it, but I was like, yes,
- 45:10Speaker 1: he's on a vacation for he starts doing that, and
- 45:17Speaker 1: Eddie's like, oh, you know something about music, I'll play guitar.
- 45:20Speaker 1: I was like, wait, what news? Yeah? For like how long?
- 45:22Speaker 5: Twenty years and so.
- 45:25Speaker 1: I stopped a conversation there because this is like twenty
- 45:28Speaker 1: minutes ago before we turn the MIC's back on and
- 45:30Speaker 1: we have a guitar come on. Oh and Casey was like, okay,
- 45:35Speaker 1: we hand to him.
- 45:35Speaker 4: Yep, do you sing too?
- 45:37Speaker 3: Uh?
- 45:38Speaker 5: Not really well, but I can try and hum.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Well, is this kind of did you move to Nashville
- 45:42Speaker 1: to play? It's a great question.
- 45:44Speaker 5: Well I came here for audio engineering and stuff like
- 45:47Speaker 5: that and always played, and I figured being here.
- 45:49Speaker 1: In Nashville read number two reds starting to get jealous here,
- 45:55Speaker 1: So what is like your what's your like, what's your
- 45:58Speaker 1: favorite kind of music? Well, like he talks like something
- 46:03Speaker 1: I wrote too.
- 46:05Speaker 5: Now, I mean, I know you do that Mount Rushmore thing.
- 46:08Speaker 5: So if on my Mount Rushmore would be the Beatles,
- 46:11Speaker 5: led Zeppelin, John Mayer, and maybe like Stevie Wonder.
- 46:17Speaker 1: A strong for would be. So again, this is unfair,
- 46:21Speaker 1: and I don't know really what you play, but like
- 46:23Speaker 1: when you say like Stevie Wonder, I think of like
- 46:25Speaker 1: the superstitious riff that's y Yeah, yeah, he plays. Dude,
- 46:32Speaker 1: he didn't know I was gonna ask him that. No,
- 46:34Speaker 1: he's a real player, you know, the bog Bone. The
- 46:37Speaker 1: song wake Up Way shows here in town.
- 46:44Speaker 5: I played with my wife. My wife's actually a singer.
- 46:48Speaker 5: House played the House of Blues in San Diego.
- 46:52Speaker 1: Man, who are you?
- 46:53Speaker 5: I know, I am one of the kinds and what.
- 46:58Speaker 6: What?
- 46:58Speaker 1: And so I don't even know what to ask him,
- 47:01Speaker 1: because well, the House of Blues is interesting, Like, so
- 47:03Speaker 1: your wife played there and then you just played with her.
- 47:05Speaker 1: I played guitar for her.
- 47:06Speaker 4: Do you know who Marcus King is?
- 47:07Speaker 5: Of course I know Mark.
- 47:08Speaker 4: He's like, he's like a god. Right, He's awesome.
- 47:10Speaker 1: He's the new guy.
- 47:11Speaker 5: He's the new guy.
- 47:12Speaker 1: He was just we just did a bobyast with I knew, Yeah,
- 47:14Speaker 1: he was awesome.
- 47:14Speaker 5: I was putting it together for you.
- 47:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. Just give us a little something, man,
- 47:20Speaker 1: I don't know. I know that's the hardest thing to ask.
- 47:22Speaker 1: Somebody will be quiet though.
- 47:28Speaker 5: It's a little att of tune.
- 47:29Speaker 1: Yeah, we did tune it for sure. You want to
- 47:33Speaker 1: play name that? See if we can name O. That'd
- 47:35Speaker 1: be cool, cool because that way you can just play
- 47:36Speaker 1: something commercial. This is a classic rock, just like seventies.
- 47:43Speaker 5: Hold On, Hold On, Hold lot a LFE. It sounds
- 47:46Speaker 5: like it, but it's just more contemporary.
- 47:48Speaker 1: Oh it is more contemporary, more contemporary than that. How
- 47:53Speaker 1: arrest tastes like all my brothers something, But it's more contemporary.
- 47:55Speaker 1: I have to have with this.
- 47:56Speaker 4: Went to the bathroom like this more than I didn't
- 47:59Speaker 4: know what that was.
- 48:01Speaker 1: I looked down out and I thought it was uly.
- 48:04Speaker 1: It was a squirrel with some Come on, what do
- 48:08Speaker 1: you got? What's that is that? Arisman?
- 48:09Speaker 5: Who do you think I was? But John Mayer?
- 48:11Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that that would have been too deep to
- 48:14Speaker 1: deeper than I wouldn't have gotten that. Yeah, okay more
- 48:18Speaker 1: John Mayor? Thank he's going Mayor like you?
- 48:23Speaker 5: Casey who.
- 48:28Speaker 1: No no, no, no no no oh yeah so that one.
- 48:31Speaker 1: Where did you start playing? Where did you start playing guitar? Where?
- 48:34Speaker 8: Like?
- 48:34Speaker 3: When?
- 48:35Speaker 8: Why?
- 48:35Speaker 1: Who? Uh?
- 48:36Speaker 3: So?
- 48:37Speaker 5: I've My dad was a huge classic rock fan, huge
- 48:39Speaker 5: professional air guitar player, So anytime we went out somewhere,
- 48:43Speaker 5: he would always put led Zeppelin up like full blast,
- 48:45Speaker 5: and we would do like the led Zeppelin like the
- 48:47Speaker 5: Black Dog. Yeah, I need a.
- 48:50Speaker 1: Pick but here, Hey, real player didn't pick. Real player
- 48:54Speaker 1: just using their fingers and guts it out. He can
- 48:55Speaker 1: do it, dude can play. Yeah, you can play. He's legit.
- 49:05Speaker 1: Dang wow, I don't know if we did our musician
- 49:15Speaker 1: rankings just on this show. Get Kevin the Goldfish. It's like,
- 49:20Speaker 1: oh yeah, yeah, yeah, Yet n I wanted to put
- 49:25Speaker 1: Kevin or me on the list. What do you mean
- 49:27Speaker 1: because we're not real musicians. I like you play. I've
- 49:31Speaker 1: had to learn bare minimum to play to be funny.
- 49:33Speaker 1: So can I Yes, not that guitar. I'm left handed,
- 49:36Speaker 1: but Eddie can obviously play. Read sings and play. These
- 49:40Speaker 1: guys are good though. Man reads a really good and
- 49:43Speaker 1: now I think Casey's even better. Maybe it's playing, but
- 49:46Speaker 1: read probably he's definitely a better guitar player. Doesn't claim
- 49:50Speaker 1: to be a great guitar player. He claims to play
- 49:51Speaker 1: guitar because he's a singer. Yeah, it don't be insulting
- 49:54Speaker 1: to read. No, I'm not just what he's hurt.
- 50:01Speaker 3: Day.
- 50:02Speaker 1: Okay, Well, well let's take a break. Well, hey, place
- 50:04Speaker 1: to break, Casey.
- 50:06Speaker 5: We're gonna go to brink. It'll be great. You're going
- 50:10Speaker 5: to break to be great.
- 50:12Speaker 1: Oh now read with harm forgetting to go to great?
- 50:15Speaker 1: All right, held the boy back, break and break. The

- 51:28Speaker 1: By Josh Allen's ex claims she was hacked. So what
- 51:31Speaker 1: was funny was so Josh Allen announces, hey, we're engaged
- 51:34Speaker 1: him and Hailey Steinfeld.
- 51:35Speaker 5: Yeah, hey we're there bye week or something.
- 51:37Speaker 1: Yeah, and you know, it was on his knee and
- 51:38Speaker 1: there's a big thing. And so then there was a
- 51:42Speaker 1: like a a response Instagram response and it was like luckily,
- 51:47Speaker 1: I think his extra Luily, my boyfriend owns a team
- 51:50Speaker 1: and doesn't play for one, don't have to be with
- 51:52Speaker 1: another brain dead CT athlete. Yeah yeah, And she's saying
- 51:56Speaker 1: that that was hacked and that was a ship. Yeah, Okay,
- 52:01Speaker 1: Like if you're going to hack someone's account, you probably
- 52:03Speaker 1: try to sell all their friends like something. They don't
- 52:06Speaker 1: use it to just like take a shot at your.
- 52:08Speaker 4: Very specific yeah yeah yeah, yeah yeah.
- 52:11Speaker 1: So but I would probably say the same thing too,
- 52:13Speaker 1: that's weird. I got hacked well, that's what you yell,
- 52:17Speaker 1: but it's like someone we're going to hack you. They'd
- 52:19Speaker 1: probably use it for more than just making a comment
- 52:21Speaker 1: that you probably actually felt. Sure. Allen's ex Britney Williams
- 52:24Speaker 1: in exchange and follow rash Williams haven't found the next
- 52:26Speaker 1: pro athlete yet, and she responded no, She posted on
- 52:29Speaker 1: her Luckily, my boyfriend owns a team. That doesn't you know? Also,
- 52:32Speaker 1: who's your new boyfriend?
- 52:34Speaker 4: His boyfriend owns a team, Brittany Williams.
- 52:37Speaker 1: Yeah, because I saw that, and if it's not like
- 52:42Speaker 1: an NFL, like if my wife's gotta fight with somebody,
- 52:44Speaker 1: I was like, well, my husband owns a team, and
- 52:46Speaker 1: I'm like, we down part of a pickleball team actually,
- 52:50Speaker 1: like the same thing. Yeah, I didn't know what what
- 52:53Speaker 1: she was even talking about. So if you see, let
- 52:56Speaker 1: me know.
- 52:57Speaker 4: I'm looking.
- 52:57Speaker 1: Actually I don't even care that much. So if you
- 52:59Speaker 1: keep looking, that's that's free. Whatever boyfriend doesn't own a team,
- 53:02Speaker 1: maybe should get hacked then, hm, that's no, that's if
- 53:07Speaker 1: you hack somebody, you want to use that account for
- 53:09Speaker 1: something fun and good or monetarily advantageous. Highest paid football coaches,
- 53:15Speaker 1: top five college Yeah, yeah, college. Guess them top five.
- 53:21Speaker 1: I'm gonna go Ryan Day. Ryan Day at number number
- 53:23Speaker 1: five with ten million, makes ten million a year?
- 53:25Speaker 5: How about Dan Lanning?
- 53:27Speaker 1: Dan Lanning did not make the list. Dabo Dabo comes
- 53:31Speaker 1: in at number two eleven point one, Sark Sark at
- 53:35Speaker 1: three ten point six, Herby good one, Kirby Smart number one,
- 53:39Speaker 1: thirteen point two million. You're forgetting so now Dion makes
- 53:44Speaker 1: five point nine million, he's way down. Lincoln Riley. Lincoln
- 53:47Speaker 1: Riley is at number four. Nice so the top five
- 53:50Speaker 1: Kirby Smart thirteen million, Dabo eleven, Sarkisian ten point six,
- 53:54Speaker 1: Riley ten million, Ryan Day ten million. Who's overpaid of
- 53:58Speaker 1: those five? That'd be my guest. That's tough. You see
- 54:03Speaker 1: where they were saying Lincoln Riley UCF wants to talk
- 54:05Speaker 1: to Lincoln Riley about the head coaching job, and then
- 54:08Speaker 1: he's like, no, USC's home. But the fact that that
- 54:10Speaker 1: would even come out, that's.
- 54:11Speaker 5: Yeah, wow wow.
- 54:13Speaker 1: You know, because our boy left you u F to
- 54:15Speaker 1: go be the offensive coordinated FSU. Yeah, I did see that,
- 54:18Speaker 1: so which Chip Kelly's yeah, yeahs on left. Chip Kelly
- 54:22Speaker 1: kind of made it cool to do that, because it
- 54:24Speaker 1: doesn't mean you suck. It means you don't want to
- 54:26Speaker 1: deal with all the bs and being a coach now
- 54:27Speaker 1: in the portal, because there have been coaches like Saban
- 54:29Speaker 1: or even in basketball like Virginia's head coach, where they're like,
- 54:32Speaker 1: I can't deal with this environment. And so to me,
- 54:35Speaker 1: it wasn't Chip Kelly, which was the UCLA program that
- 54:39Speaker 1: had it was gonna have to dig forever to be
- 54:41Speaker 1: back even or it wasn't like Gus going I suck
- 54:44Speaker 1: because he has a winning record. You see, if it
- 54:45Speaker 1: was him going, I don't like having to do all
- 54:47Speaker 1: this stuff now that college football head coaches have to do,
- 54:49Speaker 1: Like I want to coach ball. Yeah yeah, and so
- 54:51Speaker 1: that's what's happening. Mike Norvell Florida State number six. I
- 54:58Speaker 1: would be over well I say that, but that's where
- 55:00Speaker 1: Gus is going. No, yeah, NOMA went Memphis to Florida State, crushed,
- 55:04Speaker 1: almost made the championship last year tournament and George Travis
- 55:08Speaker 1: got hurt, didn't make it this year. They even have
- 55:11Speaker 1: a ball, like the show to the game, nobody brought
- 55:13Speaker 1: the ball and they're like, ah, yeah, it's bad. It
- 55:16Speaker 1: was bad that they won two games, right, two games.
- 55:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 55:19Speaker 1: Yeah, and he blew out his whole staff, just about
- 55:22Speaker 1: offensive core, defensive coordinator. Yeah. But yeah, he gets another
- 55:27Speaker 1: year for sure because he really had done great things there.
- 55:29Speaker 1: But I think if he had a five or six
- 55:31Speaker 1: win season this year, he'd get another year, and if
- 55:35Speaker 1: he did pretty good, he'd get to stay again. But
- 55:37Speaker 1: if he has a mid year next year, he's out.
- 55:38Speaker 1: I mean it's even a mid year, he's out next year.
- 55:41Speaker 4: They were bad.
- 55:42Speaker 1: Yeah, what's that? A and M guy doing was his name,
- 55:45Speaker 1: the one that got paid a lot of money and
- 55:46Speaker 1: Jimbo we went to doing doing nothing. He's chilling sitting
- 55:51Speaker 1: collecting checking. That's cool. That's really cool, sitting collecting checks.
- 55:56Speaker 1: NFL review real quick. So there are a lot of buys. Yeah,
- 56:00Speaker 1: are there like five or six buys? Is the Ravens teams?
- 56:03Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 56:03Speaker 5: I got Lamar on a bike.
- 56:05Speaker 1: And what sucks for fantasy is this is the last
- 56:07Speaker 1: week for people to get into the playoffs and it's
- 56:10Speaker 1: a pretty heavily buy And if you look at most
- 56:12Speaker 1: waiver wires, there aren't a lot of quarterbacks left now.
- 56:15Speaker 1: No Jets and Dolphins. The Jets are in Miami, Dolphins
- 56:19Speaker 1: are minus six. Can the Dolphins still make the playoffs
- 56:23Speaker 1: that they needed to win that game.
- 56:25Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, so I think it's low mathematically possible and
- 56:30Speaker 5: not possible.
- 56:31Speaker 1: Yeah, Falcons and Vikings, Well, what's fun. Well, first of all,
- 56:34Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins been struggle, Like he's on that bus. He's
- 56:36Speaker 1: on the struggle bus. Lots of picks, something's wrong with them.
- 56:39Speaker 1: He's not able to throw the ball.
- 56:40Speaker 5: Yeah, everyone's asking for Pennix now, Yeah.
- 56:42Speaker 1: And I think that the reason they're not going to
- 56:46Speaker 1: go to Pennicks, at least not now, is they've known
- 56:48Speaker 1: Kirk's been hurt. They're not saying what it is, but
- 56:51Speaker 1: you can tell something. He's he can put nothing on
- 56:53Speaker 1: the ball, and you're seeing that he's not throwing deep.
- 56:55Speaker 1: Even the alts that he's stowing, there's nothing on them.
- 56:58Speaker 1: They would have gone to Pinnicks probably if he had
- 57:01Speaker 1: been so hurt that it was affecting the game so
- 57:04Speaker 1: much that Pennis would be a better option.
- 57:07Speaker 5: Yeah, that Achilles, though I don't know man.
- 57:09Speaker 4: By any play at Minnesota this week yet to keep kirking,
- 57:12Speaker 4: that's exactly.
- 57:13Speaker 1: What he's going home.
- 57:14Speaker 5: Kirk Cousins revenge, going.
- 57:15Speaker 1: Back in ye to get the Vikings five and a
- 57:17Speaker 1: half pint favorite Vikings. Man, how about that? You told
- 57:19Speaker 1: me the beginning of the year, we thought they were awesome.
- 57:22Speaker 1: We thought they'd win the Super Bowl.
- 57:24Speaker 4: No, no, no, no, that the Vikings at.
- 57:27Speaker 1: You're thinking of the Vikings thought they would suck. We
- 57:30Speaker 1: thought McCarthy would be the quarterback. There's going to be
- 57:32Speaker 1: a bad year. They got a good Kevin O'Connell their coach.
- 57:35Speaker 1: You're gonna develop a good young quarterback. They're going a
- 57:38Speaker 1: few games would be bad, it'd been It's like the
- 57:39Speaker 1: total flip of Florida State. Yeah right, yeah, but now
- 57:43Speaker 1: the Vikings are really good and Sam Donald's gonna make
- 57:46Speaker 1: a lot of money. And you know the backup is
- 57:48Speaker 1: in Minnesota now, Daniel Jones. That's right.
- 57:50Speaker 4: Have you signed with them, y Dimes? I did not
- 57:52Speaker 4: even see that.
- 57:54Speaker 1: Uh. And he'll probably end up being good because he's
- 57:55Speaker 1: gonna have actually, like a good system to work on her.
- 57:57Speaker 1: That's exactly what Sam Donald did in San Francisco is
- 58:00Speaker 1: what yeah, Daniel Jones is doing in Minnesota.
- 58:03Speaker 5: And coach it's the same tree and Daniel Jones beat
- 58:05Speaker 5: them in the playoffs a couple of years ago. So
- 58:07Speaker 5: O'Connell's probably like, you know, teach us, you know how
- 58:10Speaker 5: how did you get.
- 58:11Speaker 1: And O'Connell and O'Connell's from the Shanahan family, so good
- 58:16Speaker 1: for him. Panthers at Eagles, Eagles, big favorite Bryce Young though,
- 58:20Speaker 1: shout out to my boy Bryce Young, like maybe not
- 58:23Speaker 1: one of them all. He looks good. You stood behind him,
- 58:25Speaker 1: never left, I never wavered when he stood next to
- 58:28Speaker 1: Daniel Jones do in that overtime game. It was like
- 58:30Speaker 1: a young kid in a adult man. And Daniel Jones
- 58:34Speaker 1: is a big dude. Brown's at Steelers, Steelers six and
- 58:36Speaker 1: a half point favorite. Steelers are good. How about rust
- 58:39Speaker 1: On for four hundred yards last week?
- 58:41Speaker 5: I mean comeback player of the year maybe, even though
- 58:44Speaker 5: I don't know what the award is really because.
- 58:45Speaker 1: You can't be it's not an injury award, which they've
- 58:48Speaker 1: now said. It's not listening to the.
- 58:50Speaker 4: Other day though. I think he's fifth or six because
- 58:52Speaker 4: he wasn't injured. Though, like the injury guys take precedent.
- 58:55Speaker 1: I thought you couldn't be had a heart attack last
- 58:57Speaker 1: year that Joe Flacco want its crazy. I thought the
- 59:03Speaker 1: rule was they were trying to say if you're injured
- 59:05Speaker 1: in comeback, that doesn't matter. It's if you sucked and
- 59:07Speaker 1: or better that matters. Yes, you may look that up
- 59:11Speaker 1: because I know there was big, a big dispute about that,
- 59:13Speaker 1: and I didn't think it was an injury.
- 59:15Speaker 5: No one knows how to vote for it.
- 59:16Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, so Bucks and Raiders Bucks went that. Who
- 59:20Speaker 1: cares about the game anyway? Seahawks the Cardinals again, who
- 59:23Speaker 1: cares about the game anyway unless you have fantasy people
- 59:25Speaker 1: in it?
- 59:26Speaker 8: Right?
- 59:26Speaker 5: That's it?
- 59:27Speaker 1: Like, what is even the most appealing game? Chargers at Chiefs?
- 59:30Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean if the Charges could somehow win, it
- 59:32Speaker 5: would make things interesting for the seating.
- 59:35Speaker 1: I mean Falcons and Vikings most interesting because of Kirk
- 59:37Speaker 1: Cousins playing against the Vikings. Again, it is not very
- 59:42Speaker 1: good weak for like exciting games. What do you see, Kevin?
- 59:45Speaker 4: So it looks like it's if you missed time previous
- 59:48Speaker 4: in the previous season, whether it's illness, physical injury, or
- 59:51Speaker 4: other circumstances, so then you're eligible.
- 59:53Speaker 1: What was the rule then, because because again as soon
- 59:55Speaker 1: as they changed the rule this season.
- 59:57Speaker 4: Yeah, because of Joe Flacco.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: From last year, which is crazy that you Yeah, DeMar
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: Hamlin didn't win that. That's that's pretty cool, But I
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: don't think he should have won it. Why he was
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: he came back from death. He didn't come back from
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: being He didn't come back from being a good player
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: of the year before to being a great player of
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: the next year. But he was fine the fact that
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: he even stepped. But that's a life. That's like a
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: CNN award. That's not a sports award, guy, because you
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: can be just a special teams player and almost die
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: and you play the next year and you do good,
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: you don't get the award for comeback Player of the Year.
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: What about Tua this year? That's like a mid season
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: comeback Like, yeah, I don't know, I don't even care.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: I was like, do I have do I want to
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: fight and have an opinion? And I don't don't. But
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: I would just say, because you almost died does not
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: mean your comeback player the major your life. You come
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: back life life a life thing. Maybe that's like an
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: undefeated team, like, I mean, he almost died. Here's your award,
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: no argument, and you should get one of those. But
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: like comeback players should be like you used to be
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: good and then you kind of got hurt. Or you
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: had a bad but then you know you're good again,
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: which is Russell Wilson.
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: Joe Burrow is a favor right now because he used
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: to be good then he got injured. But his wrist, Yeah,
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: he got injured exactly.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: Okay, so they're still an injury component. But I feel
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: like if you just were fine and then you almost
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: die and you come back, that's not enough. And if
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: you don't come back and be dominant. Yeah, yeah, because
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: it's not like demr Hamlin he's good. He's good.
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: He's not.
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: He didn't even really start last year. He's starting this
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: starting last year.
- 1:01:26Speaker 5: It's actually this year.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: I think they were scared to play him, Like, yeah,
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: you're sure you want to do that?
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: Man considered that award is not worth dude.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: Okay, one final thing and then I'll wrap up the episode.
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: Thanks going to Joey Logano for coming on Eddie claims
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: he made a fifty yard field goal. Real talk, awesome
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: is a real thing with you so much. Yeah, we've
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: seen you kick, and you do. You are a decent kicker. Yeah,
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: but he didn't make a fifty yards You're dude, You're
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: exactly right. I've never made a fifty yard field goal
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: before but after Thanksgiving, I took my kids to a
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: little field, the middle school field, and we're all just
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: kicking field goals for fun. And I'll and I made
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: a thirty. I was like, let's push your back to
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: fort went forty, and then I made the fifty. I
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: think the wind was just right. Okay, so hold on,
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: So where did you kick it from? Get from the
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: fifty yard? From the fifty yard one? I kicked it
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: from the forty Okay that is yeah, it's fifty. So
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: the ball was on the fifty yards, it was on
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: the forty yard line, and you get the ten yards too. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: end zone. Dude, It's crazy. I'll even record my kids
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: telling you. They'll be like, yeah, no, no, no. If
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: you're going to record something, you record you make it. Hey,
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: I'm gonna record Kevin telling you I made a seventy
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: yard field goal, Daniel, I'll believe. Well, here's the twist.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: There weren't any lines on the field, so we kind
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: of had that.
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: You know what I mean, that's not a twist.
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: That's a whole new set of parameters on what you've
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: made and what you did. And you know how when
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: you were like in elementary school, you do the big steps,
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: what we did that? Or it's how you like time
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: the forty Once you got older, you're like, I don't know,
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: I'm just gonna measure it. Yeah, now you made a
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: four to one, No, bro, that's twenty eight yards.
- 1:02:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: To my kids though, I was like a superhero. You
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: know what, And if that's the case, we'll let it list.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: I'm gonna fight you on it. Good job, dude, Good
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: for you, man, Good job because you were honest about it. Well,
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: accept all right, that's funny. Ready to measure it off.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: My kids measured it, not mean with my long leg steps.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: All right, that's it. Thank you guys. Mike. Is there
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: anything I'm forgetting I need to do? You're good? Okay,
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: George is gonna be Texas guys, you said it. Don't
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: even need the points. You don't even need the points. Sorry,
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: they'll offer them. Oh. By the way, Texas did look good.
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: I didn't give you your your hear your few flowers, Mike.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: Texas looked good against a mediocre Texas A and M team.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: But they did go into a kid yeah now, hold on,
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: hold on, hold on. But they did go into A
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: extremely like rabid Kyle Field. It was crazy in there.
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: Crazy yeah, like.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: I've only ever seen a few atmospheres be like that.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: And it was awesome the walk out when they were
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: showing the fans and then they showed the A and
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: M cometal, it was like I had chill bumps. And
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: there's no reason because I would have been happy if
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: both teams were eliminated. I mean even when they were
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: down at the half, they were still crazy either. Yeah,
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: Texas has a great defensive line, like unbelievable. Uh I yours.
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: I don't know. He gets a little to me. He
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: gets out slightly less awesome every time I watch him play.
- 1:04:12Speaker 4: Yeah, they're saying he's good at his ankle, but he
- 1:04:14Speaker 4: still looks slow and limping.
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: I do have a when you were signed copy of
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: College Football twenty five. Really he's on the cover.
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: Huh.
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: How'd you get that? Worry about me? Here's here's about me.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: That's just random that you got, like, uhh yeah, the
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: college football signed. Yeah, don't worry about me though, you
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. No, I'm not worried, not worried.
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: The cover of the game, it's the game. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: the game, but the disc in it and it's open sealed, No,
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: I think I I think I opened it to play
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: the game, like I need the game. I think I
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: wanted to see if it was also signed on the disc.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: Oh okay, or they had to peel off the seal
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: to sign it, because that might have happened too. They
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: had to pill off that outside. So yeah, so the
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: game might still be sealed. But even then, I sometimes
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: I just get like I'm twelve and I want to
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: see it and touch it and hold it. Yeah, that's
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: a good win. You guys needed something, so I'd shut
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: up and you didn't need that, but just for me, like,
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: because you have played nobody and so now you guys
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: have a mild win. That's a good a mild win,
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: but in a really hard place to play, so pretty
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: good win. That's a pretty good win. So I was
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: happy for you. I hate Texas, but I was happy
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: for you and only you, and that's it. Nobody else
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: because everybody like Texas can screw off. By Ricky, he
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: can scro off too. Well. I appreciate that. Yeah, that's
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: a big deal. Welcome, You're welcome, all right, that's well,
